- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome to Revealing Wholeness podcast dedicated to revealing the profound
- 0:06Speaker 1: connections between body, mind, and spirit, where we believe that
- 0:10Speaker 1: true wellness arises from addressing the root causes of our
- 0:13Speaker 1: health challenges, not just masking the symptoms. Here we dive
- 0:16Speaker 1: deep into how holistic approaches such as advanced chiropractic care,
- 0:20Speaker 1: personalized nutrition, and natural healing practices can transform your life.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Now Here is doctor Troy.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Hello one, Welcome, I'm doctor Troy. One of the things
- 0:36Speaker 2: that I think is a touchy subject for most folks
- 0:40Speaker 2: going into a medical office is talking about their bowels.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Nobody likes to talk about their bowels, but yet it
- 0:47Speaker 2: should be something that we effortlessly talk about. Now in
- 0:50Speaker 2: my house, we kind of giggle and we talk about
- 0:52Speaker 2: our bowels and we rather laugh, Like my son and
- 0:56Speaker 2: I will be quite ah gosh, how do you put it?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Not really vulgar, but definitely transparent about how our bowels
- 1:05Speaker 2: are doing and what we've eaten that were like certain
- 1:08Speaker 2: did not agree with us, and how it didn't agree
- 1:10Speaker 2: with us, and what happened in the toilet. But for
- 1:13Speaker 2: the vast majority of folks out there, there's a fair
- 1:16Speaker 2: amount of folks that suffer with diarrhea one day and
- 1:20Speaker 2: constipation the next, and it's not uncommon at all, and
- 1:25Speaker 2: so I want to hit up at least the constipation
- 1:29Speaker 2: side of it. I mean, I can mention that diarrhea
- 1:32Speaker 2: that you're having fairly regular is likely toxicity and likely
- 1:38Speaker 2: an infection, but that's something that we can go into
- 1:42Speaker 2: on other podcasts. But that at least give you at
- 1:45Speaker 2: least a direction to be thinking about. So for those
- 1:48Speaker 2: that are constipated, we would say, okay, well, mild constipation,
- 1:53Speaker 2: meaning that it's kind of manageable. I'm going maybe one
- 1:59Speaker 2: time time a day or every other day. It's uncomfortable
- 2:03Speaker 2: at times. Sometimes it's two or three days and I
- 2:07Speaker 2: don't really like it. I feel pressure sometimes pain in
- 2:10Speaker 2: my bowels. The packaging is at least normal. If this
- 2:15Speaker 2: is kind of how it is with you, this you'll
- 2:18Speaker 2: probably find some good help with Now. For those that
- 2:20Speaker 2: are like I might go to the bathroom once a
- 2:23Speaker 2: week or maybe every four or five days, that's a
- 2:27Speaker 2: more significant case of constipation, especially if you like it's
- 2:31Speaker 2: been like this since I was little. Okay, this may
- 2:34Speaker 2: or may not work for you, but you never can tell.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It might just be something simple all of a sudden
- 2:38Speaker 2: just unlocks you and like, my gosh, I'm way better.
- 2:41Speaker 2: So for those that we would say are uncomplicated constipation folks,
- 2:47Speaker 2: we'll find that, hey, just doing some beats and beat
- 2:50Speaker 2: greens is super super helpful. And beat greens contain a
- 2:55Speaker 2: wonderful B vitamin called betain B one and B two
- 3:00Speaker 2: and fiamin monnitrate or paradoxine hydrochloride or cyanocobalamine B twelve.
- 3:06Speaker 2: You know, and all these B vitamins that are out there,
- 3:09Speaker 2: you're like, wait a minute, I don't really remember a
- 3:11Speaker 2: btane And of course I don't remember what btane was.
- 3:15Speaker 2: It might have been like B fifteen or something. And
- 3:19Speaker 2: so btane is a type of B vitamin or in
- 3:22Speaker 2: the B vitamin classification family, and it is part of
- 3:27Speaker 2: the btane hydrochloride family, which is a hydrochloric acid precursor.
- 3:32Speaker 2: And so btane is super super helpful in the liver
- 3:35Speaker 2: and gall bladder to thin bile channels. Now, if you've
- 3:40Speaker 2: never heard of the word bile, maybe you've you've heard it,
- 3:43Speaker 2: and you know kind of some of the realms of
- 3:46Speaker 2: throwing up, like somebody throws up so much that they
- 3:49Speaker 2: taste bile and it's really nasty and bitter, and of
- 3:53Speaker 2: course it is, and so thinning bile channels normally is
- 3:58Speaker 2: an excellent thing to do. And if we have have
- 4:00Speaker 2: a decent diet, we're probably getting some fresh vegetables in
- 4:04Speaker 2: there and getting enough btane, and btane is really important
- 4:07Speaker 2: about thinning those bile channels. And what bile does is
- 4:11Speaker 2: a couple of things. The gallbladder squeezes bile out into
- 4:16Speaker 2: the small intestine, so when we eat fat, we can
- 4:19Speaker 2: emulsify fat or break it up into small little particles
- 4:24Speaker 2: so that we can absorb the fat, which we desperately
- 4:27Speaker 2: need for our brain, for our cells, for energy, for
- 4:32Speaker 2: making hormones, all kinds of things, and so bile is
- 4:36Speaker 2: super important for digestion and helping all of that happen.
- 4:40Speaker 2: But what else bile does is it lubricates the bowel.
- 4:45Speaker 2: And so if we're constipated, we're going to find if
- 4:48Speaker 2: we can flow bile, then we can actually super help
- 4:53Speaker 2: how we go to the bathroom. Now, if you don't
- 4:55Speaker 2: have a gallbladder, you may find that beats and beegreens
- 4:59Speaker 2: are not necessary really so helpful because you're constantly getting
- 5:03Speaker 2: rid of bile, and you don't have a bag to
- 5:06Speaker 2: hold it anymore, called the gallbladder, and so your bowels
- 5:09Speaker 2: may not be so good even with some beat greens.
- 5:12Speaker 2: And so I say beat greens because yeah, we want
- 5:14Speaker 2: to eat the beats themselves, the root that tastes like dirt,
- 5:19Speaker 2: but we also want to eat the leaves, and so
- 5:21Speaker 2: the leaves contain the most betane, so don't throw out
- 5:26Speaker 2: those leaves. And I did a podcast years ago when
- 5:28Speaker 2: I was at a restaurant over here locally called Farm twelve,
- 5:32Speaker 2: and I got a belt because I just wanted a belt,
- 5:35Speaker 2: and I hear that they do a lot of growing
- 5:37Speaker 2: of their own stuff, and I thought, okay, well, if
- 5:39Speaker 2: I'm going to get a decent blt on homemade bread
- 5:44Speaker 2: and avocado, then this is the place I'm going to
- 5:48Speaker 2: do it. And they had beat leaves on the belt,
- 5:52Speaker 2: and I thought, that's brilliant to help me handle all
- 5:55Speaker 2: of fat. That's wonderful. That's just brilliant, brilliant, and so
- 6:01Speaker 2: I thought that was really cool. And then it was
- 6:04Speaker 2: just it's like, well, why don't we do that all
- 6:07Speaker 2: the time. Why don't we have a little bit of
- 6:09Speaker 2: beat leaves in our salad every time we eat well.
- 6:12Speaker 2: People don't like it. That's why we don't do it.
- 6:15Speaker 2: But it shouldn't be about liking or disliking something. It
- 6:18Speaker 2: should be about how does the body function well. It
- 6:22Speaker 2: functions a lot better when we give it betaine in
- 6:25Speaker 2: the form of beat leaves. Now, you could take it
- 6:28Speaker 2: in a supplement, but I encourage you not to do that.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I encourage you to eat it in your diet because ultimately,
- 6:34Speaker 2: at the end of the day, do you really want
- 6:36Speaker 2: to keep taking more pills or would you just rather
- 6:38Speaker 2: eat a little bit better and have things in a
- 6:42Speaker 2: way that you can tolerate on your taste buds and
- 6:45Speaker 2: not be so unhappy about it. I'm always amazed when
- 6:49Speaker 2: I have somebody come in and says, I love beats,
- 6:51Speaker 2: like thinking you like to eat dirt? Interesting. I really don't,
- 6:56Speaker 2: but I still eat them because I know that they're
- 6:58Speaker 2: good for me. So the last thing that bile does
- 7:03Speaker 2: is it gets absorbed. Once it's done breaking up in
- 7:05Speaker 2: a multi fine fat and we've absorbed fat through the
- 7:09Speaker 2: small gut in the large bowl and it's lubricating in
- 7:13Speaker 2: the large bowl, it absorbs back into the bloodstream and
- 7:17Speaker 2: as it's floating through the bloodstream, it is collecting toxins,
- 7:22Speaker 2: so literally it is detoxifying while it's flowing through the blood.
- 7:25Speaker 2: And when it gets back to the liver, as it
- 7:27Speaker 2: finds its way back bloodstream wise to liver, the liver
- 7:31Speaker 2: cleans the bial, puts the bial back in the gallbladder,
- 7:34Speaker 2: and then puts all that crap that was on the
- 7:36Speaker 2: bile into our bowels to land in the toilet. That's
- 7:41Speaker 2: a normal cycle for bile. It is why we are
- 7:45Speaker 2: so desperately in need of our gallbladder and should never
- 7:48Speaker 2: ever have them taken out. And if you're contemplating that
- 7:52Speaker 2: or have had it taken out, I have podcasts that
- 7:54Speaker 2: explain what to do once you have If you have
- 7:57Speaker 2: a hot gallbladder, please call me right away. Let's talk
- 8:00Speaker 2: about what we can do to cool the jets of
- 8:03Speaker 2: that hot gallbladder and start getting some pain relief and
- 8:07Speaker 2: changing your diet so that you can actually heal the
- 8:10Speaker 2: gallbladder and keep it, which would be very very good. Now,
- 8:14Speaker 2: funny enough, I have a friend who doesn't want to
- 8:18Speaker 2: change their diet at all, and they won't it's really
- 8:22Speaker 2: quite interesting. So they have the gallbladder moved. I'm thinking,
- 8:26Speaker 2: you're one of my good friends, and I can't talk
- 8:28Speaker 2: you out of a gallbladder surgery because you won't change
- 8:31Speaker 2: your diet. All right, fair enough, and so again, each
- 8:34Speaker 2: to their own. I mean, you can do all kinds
- 8:36Speaker 2: of things to your body. It's your body, and so
- 8:38Speaker 2: it just it's like, I keep thinking, why wouldn't you
- 8:40Speaker 2: want to keep all your body parts? But apparently that's
- 8:44Speaker 2: not necessarily the deal for most of us. And I
- 8:47Speaker 2: suppose that's okay too, and that's fine. So there you
- 8:50Speaker 2: have it as a gallbladder support to try to help
- 8:54Speaker 2: go to the bathroom for constipation. Now, I'm going to
- 8:57Speaker 2: give you a bonus. If listened to this far, some
- 8:59Speaker 2: people will actually have tremendous help by doing fifty ounces
- 9:04Speaker 2: of water first thing in the morning. Now hear me out.
- 9:07Speaker 2: I do not want you to continue for the rest
- 9:09Speaker 2: of your life doing fifty ounces of water first thing
- 9:11Speaker 2: in the morning. That is not okay, by the way,
- 9:14Speaker 2: But for a couple of few days to do fifty
- 9:16Speaker 2: ounces of water first thing in the morning and see
- 9:18Speaker 2: how quickly you have a bowel movement can be pretty helpful.
- 9:22Speaker 2: And so that water can flush the system and help
- 9:25Speaker 2: the bowels move. So just an idea. So let's say, Okay,
- 9:29Speaker 2: you're out there and you're thinking, Hey, I did the
- 9:30Speaker 2: fifty ounces and it worked like charm. All right, does
- 9:34Speaker 2: forty ounces work? Yeah? Well does thirty ounces work? You
- 9:38Speaker 2: get where I'm going? What is the threshold? Hey, when
- 9:42Speaker 2: I drink twenty five ounces of water first thing in
- 9:44Speaker 2: the morning, it helps me go to the bathroom every morning. Okay, well,
- 9:47Speaker 2: twenty five ounces isn't a big deal, so go ahead
- 9:50Speaker 2: and continue doing twenty five ounces. Now, I would also
- 9:52Speaker 2: be fixing your diet and working on your liver and
- 9:55Speaker 2: your bill tracks, and doing some things like beats and
- 9:58Speaker 2: beet greens which helped not only th bile channels, but
- 10:01Speaker 2: help your lyric heel. That would be a wise move
- 10:03Speaker 2: as well. So there's a couple of ideas there that
- 10:06Speaker 2: may be very very helpful to mild to moderate constipation.
- 10:11Speaker 2: You might even find that I feel like I'm an
- 10:13Speaker 2: extreme case. Could I test these things? Well, of course
- 10:15Speaker 2: you can test them, and if they don't work, you
- 10:18Speaker 2: just know, Okay, my problem is more severe than that.
- 10:20Speaker 2: So I need to make a console with doctor Munson,
- 10:23Speaker 2: and let's figure out what I can do. So those
- 10:26Speaker 2: are some possibilities for you as well. Until next time,
- 10:29Speaker 2: I'm doctor Troy, and remember there really is way more
- 10:33Speaker 2: right with you than there is wrong with you.
