- 1:38Speaker 1: seen it. Now you're here, we're gonna say everything. First up,
- 1:43Speaker 1: let's get to our guests. Nadia, how did you overall? Well, no, actually, first,
- 1:48Speaker 1: before we even get to that, I you know, have
- 1:50Speaker 1: to disclose that you do have a more personal close
- 1:54Speaker 1: relationship with this project.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Yes, So last summer around my birthday, which was crazy,
- 2:03Speaker 4: I got casted for a background gig in it and
- 2:07Speaker 4: I play like a girl that does coke essentially. But
- 2:11Speaker 4: it was like the funniest thing ever because I don't
- 2:14Speaker 4: do drugs, Like I mean, maybe an edible here and there,
- 2:18Speaker 4: but I don't do drugs. So I'm over there like
- 2:21Speaker 4: I don't know how to do this, and some guy
- 2:23Speaker 4: taps me on the shoulder and he goes, hey, I'm
- 2:25Speaker 4: john I almost had.
- 2:27Speaker 3: A heart attack.
- 2:28Speaker 4: So Johnny burnt out himself taught me how to fake
- 2:31Speaker 4: cut coke for the scene. He was like, all right,
- 2:33Speaker 4: So you do this, you kind of like spread it out,
- 2:35Speaker 4: and he would showing me how to like chop it
- 2:37Speaker 4: and like slide and cut it.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Oh my god, that is been a lot that.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I don't know what's wilder you being cast as a
- 2:44Speaker 2: cocid John Burnhal showing you how to cut the lines
- 2:48Speaker 2: with the and what did they.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Have credit with the former? The former definite expected for Hollywood.
- 2:54Speaker 1: After I was just trying to go to here. But
- 2:56Speaker 1: you know, you know, my man is big dog in Hollywood, okay,
- 3:00Speaker 1: and it comes along with the premise.
- 3:02Speaker 3: He was so nice.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I was like freaking out.
- 3:05Speaker 3: That's amazing.
- 3:06Speaker 2: They like just ramly come over. It's like, oh you
- 3:08Speaker 2: need help, let me get you.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Yeah, somebody like talk to talent like you know. And
- 3:15Speaker 4: then he's just like, hey, I'm.
- 3:16Speaker 1: John Man likes fake ship. Oh okay, all right.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Oh this is bad.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Let me fix this, like fix this, let me show
- 3:23Speaker 4: you how this is done. And I was like, oh
- 3:25Speaker 4: my god.
- 3:26Speaker 1: He's like, damn man, you know, I thought you had
- 3:28Speaker 1: the real thing, you know, like.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Come on, come on, No, first of all, I congress
- 3:38Speaker 2: to you.
- 3:38Speaker 1: That's dope.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yes, I know you probably don't know where if you're were.
- 3:42Speaker 1: You've seen Did you see yourself cutting coke in this? Yeah?
- 3:46Speaker 4: So you see me at like eighteen minutes in every
- 3:51Speaker 4: first episode.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I mean this is only one episode, only.
- 3:54Speaker 4: One Oh yeah, yeah, I know it's a one shot.
- 3:58Speaker 4: This is it unintended?
- 4:00Speaker 1: I mean it's much more than one shot in this joint.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, all right? So what was your overall feelings
- 4:05Speaker 1: on it?
- 4:06Speaker 4: I enjoyed it. I do wish we got a little more.
- 4:09Speaker 4: The runtime felt a little short to me. I do
- 4:12Speaker 4: like though that the beginning was kind of more like
- 4:16Speaker 4: a lot. We got a lot of monologues with this,
- 4:18Speaker 4: that's kind of like what I described it as, like monologues,
- 4:21Speaker 4: and then the raid, so it was like we had
- 4:23Speaker 4: a lot of moments where it really just broke down
- 4:26Speaker 4: into like his mind, how how messed up he is
- 4:29Speaker 4: like at the moment, like his trauma, his PTSD, and
- 4:33Speaker 4: we're just sitting with that for a bit, and then
- 4:36Speaker 4: like later on it just gets wild and he just
- 4:38Speaker 4: starts wrecking shit and it's the Frank Castle we love.
- 4:42Speaker 4: I enjoyed it, but I do think I wish we
- 4:43Speaker 4: got more, Like narratively, there wasn't much here to work with.
- 4:48Speaker 4: I think I would have liked a mini series. I
- 4:51Speaker 4: think that's also because I personally love this character so much.
- 4:54Speaker 4: I wanted to see more. But I liked that we
- 4:57Speaker 4: got Curtis and like a lot of his like you know,
- 5:00Speaker 4: marine trauma shown in it. So I think it was fun.
- 5:04Speaker 4: It was it was a blast. I really enjoyed it.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Because I enjoyed I forgot that it was just a
- 5:10Speaker 2: one show. I just you know, they definitely say it's
- 5:13Speaker 2: special presentation in the beginning, like they do that splash
- 5:16Speaker 2: screen at the like the very beginning opening shot, but
- 5:20Speaker 2: I it read to me like mini series. It was
- 5:23Speaker 2: shot like episode one of the new season. So and
- 5:28Speaker 2: maybe that was a thought and they said, no, never mind,
- 5:30Speaker 2: we're going to make this a one shot. Like it's
- 5:32Speaker 2: just something about the pacing of it, something about what
- 5:36Speaker 2: it includes in it and how it ends that makes
- 5:39Speaker 2: you go, it's more than just you know, we're just
- 5:42Speaker 2: reintroducing you to the character.
- 5:43Speaker 3: It seems like there was more coming.
- 5:45Speaker 2: But also that could be the point, right to make
- 5:48Speaker 2: you get reintegrated with the character, particularly those people who
- 5:52Speaker 2: haven't or it's been too long since they've seen a
- 5:54Speaker 2: Netflix series. The fact that yes, he's been popping up
- 5:57Speaker 2: in Daredevil, but you're gonna see him again in viider Man,
- 6:00Speaker 2: and the fact that whatever future plan they have for him,
- 6:05Speaker 2: he's gonna be thoroughly mixed in within the MCU.
- 6:08Speaker 3: So I, like you, I enjoyed it.
- 6:11Speaker 2: It was hyper hyper violent, and I will say this,
- 6:15Speaker 2: it's different violence. I give it a different level of
- 6:18Speaker 2: violence versus something like The Boys.
- 6:21Speaker 1: And I'll explain what I mean by that.
- 6:23Speaker 2: The Boys, to me, it's just a lot of nonsensical vinus,
- 6:27Speaker 2: and by nonsensical, I just need to just do it
- 6:30Speaker 2: just to see how bad they can go or how
- 6:33Speaker 2: far they can go, Rather how bad can it get?
- 6:36Speaker 2: What nastiness and stupid chick can I show? That's beyond
- 6:40Speaker 2: anything that's ever been censored before in the world. Right,
- 6:43Speaker 2: That's how I feel about The Boys. Whereas this, especially
- 6:46Speaker 2: within knowing the context and the framing of who Frank
- 6:49Speaker 2: Castle is, of who Punisher is, and that whole line
- 6:53Speaker 2: of story, there's a purpose behind everything that he's doing.
- 6:57Speaker 2: So yes, it's very violent, but it's purpose. It's very
- 7:01Speaker 2: much tracking towards even if you have never known who
- 7:05Speaker 2: punish it was. Because of the way they pace it
- 7:08Speaker 2: and structure the story. New people can get right into
- 7:11Speaker 2: it and understand where does that rage come from, Where
- 7:14Speaker 2: does that depression come from, Where does that response come
- 7:17Speaker 2: from from him?
- 7:19Speaker 3: And let's be practical.
- 7:20Speaker 2: If a million niggas is coming after you with knives,
- 7:23Speaker 2: swords and all sorts of shit, you got to respond
- 7:27Speaker 2: in kind.
- 7:27Speaker 3: So to me, even though it was super violent, it
- 7:31Speaker 3: made sense and it wasn't.
- 7:34Speaker 2: It wasn't something that just made me gave me a
- 7:38Speaker 2: really bad feeling that typically happens when I watch things
- 7:40Speaker 2: like The Boys.
- 7:41Speaker 1: So yeah, all right, for me, I echo most of
- 7:46Speaker 1: what y'all saying. I enjoyed it overall, right. I also
- 7:51Speaker 1: wanted a lot more, like Nadia said, and especially narratively,
- 7:55Speaker 1: because when I first heard of this project, it was
- 7:58Speaker 1: that John was he he wanted to do this. He
- 8:01Speaker 1: was like, I had this idea and I really wanted
- 8:04Speaker 1: to do it. And even in a recent interview I
- 8:07Speaker 1: read where he was talking about how when he went
- 8:09Speaker 1: to Marvel he was like, Yo, don't just hand it
- 8:11Speaker 1: to me. Let me, you know, really work on the
- 8:13Speaker 1: script and really do this. They saw some of his
- 8:16Speaker 1: earlier writing and they were like, okay, you know he
- 8:18Speaker 1: can write, so let's let him do it, and him
- 8:20Speaker 1: and the producer and director had this idea and they
- 8:23Speaker 1: developed it. So my thought was that, Okay, we might
- 8:26Speaker 1: see some of the things around the Punisher and his
- 8:30Speaker 1: symbol being used by the police, and how we even
- 8:33Speaker 1: saw them the symbol being used by the Task Force.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I know we had him confront the Task Force and
- 8:40Speaker 1: born again, but I was just hoping for a little
- 8:43Speaker 1: bit more that, especially within the real world, how you
- 8:45Speaker 1: see his symbol being used by the police. So I
- 8:47Speaker 1: was in not or maybe not even that, but just
- 8:49Speaker 1: some story, you know, because the way John was like, yo,
- 8:52Speaker 1: I gotta tell this story, I was like, okay, this
- 8:55Speaker 1: don't have a story, and then I don't really think
- 8:58Speaker 1: it did. I feel like, like y'all said, there's more
- 9:00Speaker 1: of a primer for people who haven't seen it. It
- 9:02Speaker 1: starts off with, you know, this is who Punisher is.
- 9:05Speaker 1: He's a victim of violence who continues to use violence
- 9:10Speaker 1: and gets that out in the first I think it's
- 9:13Speaker 1: fifteen minutes in, and then fifteen minutes in, like Nadia said,
- 9:17Speaker 1: the raid light starts and he murders a bunch of people,
- 9:21Speaker 1: and then he's like, okay, I can not kill myself
- 9:25Speaker 1: and go on murdering more people and that's the end
- 9:28Speaker 1: of it. And the violence part. Let me say what
- 9:32Speaker 1: I wouldn't say about the violence part, like you said
- 9:34Speaker 1: talking when I watch violence, is I'm not a big
- 9:37Speaker 1: fan anymore of realistic violence, of things where I think
- 9:43Speaker 1: it could happen, like things like this, where you see
- 9:46Speaker 1: someone just shooting up a bunch of people and people
- 9:48Speaker 1: getting murdered over and over again. Like I can watch
- 9:51Speaker 1: things with like The Boys, even though I don't watch The
- 9:52Speaker 1: Boys anymore because it's just superheroes and shit that won't
- 9:56Speaker 1: happen in the real world. But we live in America
- 9:59Speaker 1: full of gun you know. So that's why things like
- 10:02Speaker 1: this are much more bothersome than me seeing people, you know,
- 10:06Speaker 1: human beings just being mowed down by this guy and it.
- 10:12Speaker 1: They do a lot of video game shots, which like
- 10:14Speaker 1: John Witt did, where it's like the overhead shot. There's
- 10:17Speaker 1: just a lot of video gaming of it, of violence
- 10:19Speaker 1: and death, and that kind of bothers me, even though
- 10:23Speaker 1: because especially with this dude supposedly being the hero, I
- 10:27Speaker 1: know he's the protagonist, and I know the idea he's
- 10:29Speaker 1: an anti hero, et cetera. But I feel like that's
- 10:32Speaker 1: a lot of nonsense really, and it just I don't know.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I enjoyed it, but I also had a lot of
- 10:38Speaker 1: issues with it, like especially the levels of violence and
- 10:41Speaker 1: when there's no real thought behind the violence. Like I
- 10:45Speaker 1: agree with you talk to Awna, you know a trats
- 10:47Speaker 1: with his character, but as far as like just you
- 10:50Speaker 1: know what the reality of it is, it just felt
- 10:54Speaker 1: goofy too a points that was my problem. Oh man,
- 10:57Speaker 1: supremely goofy, like ridiculously like the biggest one is my
- 11:03Speaker 1: Nucci's character, and that's I did not notice until after
- 11:08Speaker 1: I watched that the black dude who's with my Nucie
- 11:11Speaker 1: is another character from the comics Barracuda, and they just
- 11:15Speaker 1: felt ineffective, Like they send a mob of one hundred
- 11:19Speaker 1: people at this dude, not you know, half of them
- 11:21Speaker 1: have knives and swords. People are running up on my
- 11:24Speaker 1: man like, oh, it's Frank Castle. What you're gonna do, nigga?
- 11:28Speaker 1: He's doing to shoot you. This is the punisher, you
- 11:32Speaker 1: know what? Respect? You know what respect on this man's name.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I think, because this is almost like a reintroduction dad,
- 11:41Speaker 2: understanding is not understood, Like they're not looking like that
- 11:45Speaker 2: is John Wick. They first of all, as the story goes, because.
- 11:49Speaker 1: It is imagine dude just running up on John Wick, because.
- 11:59Speaker 2: The way it enters you into the world. First of all,
- 12:02Speaker 2: they say that pretty much as a result of him
- 12:05Speaker 2: murder of unaliving the aliving the new trees, they left
- 12:11Speaker 2: the power vacuum.
- 12:12Speaker 3: So then everybody's wilent.
- 12:13Speaker 2: And remember at first he wasn't policing or punishing nothing.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Everybody was wilding.
- 12:18Speaker 2: And who knows how long people were wilding? When I
- 12:20Speaker 2: say wyd, I.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Mean straight, uh, what is it the purge?
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yes, reach broad daylight and can I understand what you're
- 12:29Speaker 2: saying Ben about maybe that's goofy and the people. And
- 12:31Speaker 2: they respond like, I will say, it read very GTA,
- 12:34Speaker 2: where it was just like the NBC act in GTA,
- 12:38Speaker 2: where it was just like random just random acts of violence,
- 12:41Speaker 2: people walking around knockingcause upside the head even.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Like, yes, it was like the GTA. And so I
- 12:48Speaker 3: do agree that the the.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Thugs as they were called in the parentheses on the
- 12:53Speaker 2: perceptions were ineffective, but I think that was the point.
- 12:57Speaker 2: It was just to show you whom like there's these
- 13:02Speaker 2: there's violence, like there's violence, and then there's this nigga punisher,
- 13:08Speaker 2: there's your bullshit that.
- 13:09Speaker 3: You're doing, and then there's Frank Castle.
- 13:12Speaker 2: But it's and then they coupled that also with and
- 13:15Speaker 2: they purposefully gave you that full interview. Well, I want
- 13:19Speaker 2: to say it's like an interview, but like a full
- 13:20Speaker 2: intro into his psyche. Yes, he's fucked up in the
- 13:24Speaker 2: head because of all the other shit that happened to him.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Yes he's still fucked up even more fuck because he
- 13:29Speaker 2: kind of completed the task. But now he's being plagued
- 13:32Speaker 2: by demons and so fucked up and not caring or
- 13:35Speaker 2: whatever you want to say, doing his little Ninja turtle thing,
- 13:38Speaker 2: hiding where he's not there's all that's going on around him,
- 13:41Speaker 2: and he's not reacting.
- 13:42Speaker 3: He walks down the street, he hears the gunshots, people
- 13:45Speaker 3: screaming going off.
- 13:46Speaker 2: All he hears is war, right, Yeah, So I get
- 13:49Speaker 2: what you're saying Ben about like like there was no
- 13:53Speaker 2: real I guess enemy that there was no real danger
- 13:56Speaker 2: for him, And it's like, why would y'all pull up
- 14:00Speaker 2: on him. He he's basically john with because they don't know,
- 14:03Speaker 2: they don't know that.
- 14:05Speaker 3: It took him being on fire for him to activate.
- 14:08Speaker 2: To be honest, how long it took before he said, oh,
- 14:12Speaker 2: let me bring.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Up the man got warned, you know. She rolled up
- 14:16Speaker 1: on him, was like, yo, they coming at this time, Sam,
- 14:19Speaker 1: and he was like, let me go take a nap.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Would have been like on some home alone ship ready.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I really liked her story.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I liked even though I knew she liked she yes,
- 14:29Speaker 2: she was also very much a caricature. I did like
- 14:33Speaker 2: when she pulled up on him and told the story
- 14:34Speaker 2: because I'm like, what the bitch about to say? And
- 14:36Speaker 2: when she was just like, I was like, Oh.
- 14:38Speaker 4: That's the most my husband you took, my son, Carlo, myself, Eddie.
- 14:42Speaker 3: That was actually he did.
- 14:42Speaker 2: A good job on that to like be like, here's
- 14:46Speaker 2: nobody else pulling up talk about.
- 14:47Speaker 3: I need your help, but.
- 14:48Speaker 2: It's because of you that I need your help, and
- 14:51Speaker 2: then all hell breaks loose after that. After that, I
- 14:54Speaker 2: really just think it's about idolizing what punish your stands for,
- 14:58Speaker 2: which is just shooting killing at this stage in this
- 15:02Speaker 2: in this version of the story, because that that that's
- 15:05Speaker 2: really oldes me what it came out to be, like
- 15:07Speaker 2: if we if you're going down, what you're thinking. Then
- 15:10Speaker 2: it ended up being more idolicizing, like this is this
- 15:14Speaker 2: is what it is, and yes these people are ineffective,
- 15:17Speaker 2: and yes these are henchmen, and yes.
- 15:18Speaker 1: These are foot soldiers who don't matter.
- 15:21Speaker 2: He kills them by the dozens because that's what people
- 15:24Speaker 2: want to see.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I haven't seen that in a while from punishing, I haven't.
- 15:28Speaker 3: And I was like, oh, pretty good.
- 15:30Speaker 1: It was this is not good. Not I want to
- 15:34Speaker 1: know more of your thoughts. But I also have a
- 15:37Speaker 1: question for both of y'all. Is this copaganda? What did
- 15:41Speaker 1: he say?
- 15:43Speaker 3: How's it cop? Again? And when there's no cop, cops
- 15:47Speaker 3: ain't do nothing.
- 15:47Speaker 4: The cops left.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Remember very early on when the cops pulled up and
- 15:50Speaker 2: the guy like threw a bottle of the like really
- 15:52Speaker 2: simple ship threw a bottle at the cop cart and
- 15:54Speaker 2: the cop car reversed immediately.
- 15:56Speaker 4: There were no law there weren't. There was no presentence.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Yeah, there was no presence of any of the.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Mental health whatever was off the charts. It's like New
- 16:05Speaker 4: York on crack times ten.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Right, And that's and I'll get into something about that
- 16:09Speaker 2: when we get Yeah, yeah, it was more the most
- 16:13Speaker 2: you saw, you know, the stuff about the Marines, but
- 16:15Speaker 2: that was more intrinsic to him as a character him
- 16:17Speaker 2: as an individual. I don't think there was any like
- 16:20Speaker 2: copaganda or at all propaganda.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Ooh, all right, well, I have to say I think
- 16:24Speaker 1: there's a lot of it.
- 16:25Speaker 3: And I gun propaganda, but the.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Gun propaganda one definitely. I also think there's a lot
- 16:30Speaker 1: with the Marines. I think the Marines are definitely being
- 16:32Speaker 1: used as a military cop you know, propaganda. This is like,
- 16:36Speaker 1: even though it shows you the mental trauma of what
- 16:38Speaker 1: he does, it also at the same time is like,
- 16:42Speaker 1: you know who robed Marines? We don't. We don't stop
- 16:45Speaker 1: to We finished the mission, and that is you know,
- 16:48Speaker 1: the goal. Even the black dude who's his ghost whatever,
- 16:50Speaker 1: is like, you know, I'm going to hell for what
- 16:52Speaker 1: I've done. You know, he even says I might go
- 16:55Speaker 1: to hell for what I've done. And he ain't done
- 16:56Speaker 1: none of the punishing ship in a marine.
- 16:58Speaker 3: He's just talking about his regular duties.
- 17:01Speaker 1: But at the same time he's like, you've done it,
- 17:03Speaker 1: but yo, what are you gonna do? You're gonna have
- 17:05Speaker 1: to keep going, keep the mission going, like you're gonna fail.
- 17:08Speaker 1: And this in this because there are no cops. I
- 17:12Speaker 1: feel like Punishure does represent law and order, justice and
- 17:17Speaker 1: the idea that shooting is the way to do it.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Okay, I do think he represents street justice.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I do think he I don't in America. What's the
- 17:28Speaker 1: difference between that and police.
- 17:30Speaker 2: But that ties into the whole, Like to me, at
- 17:32Speaker 2: least for me, when you're talking about police, I don't
- 17:34Speaker 2: think justice whatsoever. I don't look at police and think
- 17:37Speaker 2: and perhaps I don't think police and think justice. That's
- 17:42Speaker 2: not that's not the first thing to come to mind.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I don't see justice when I see a white man
- 17:45Speaker 1: shooting doing a multi cultural man.
- 17:48Speaker 2: I see, I see, and particularly for punishure, what I
- 17:52Speaker 2: see is a vigilante.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I see it.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I'm clear about what I'm seeing.
- 17:57Speaker 2: I just don't necessarily equate him to what people think
- 18:01Speaker 2: comps are supposed to represent terms of the you know,
- 18:03Speaker 2: the law. Like he doesn't perform justice, he performs revenge.
- 18:07Speaker 2: He informs exacting uh equal footing. Right, Like he held
- 18:13Speaker 2: up the guy at the very end to give me
- 18:15Speaker 2: the hat back.
- 18:16Speaker 3: The homeless man said, that's not all he took for me.
- 18:19Speaker 2: And he said, okay, Wenna, I got you right, He said,
- 18:24Speaker 2: no prob we're gonna bounce the sh out. That's not
- 18:25Speaker 2: necessarily quote justice in the terms of what we know
- 18:28Speaker 2: from a Western US perspective, but.
- 18:31Speaker 3: It is hoods justice, it's street justice.
- 18:33Speaker 2: It's like you fuck with me, I'm gonna fuck with you,
- 18:37Speaker 2: and we're gonna do any equal parts, especially when you
- 18:39Speaker 2: fuck when people who are innocent.
- 18:40Speaker 3: That's all. And that's another thing, if you want.
- 18:42Speaker 2: To talk about cartoonish stuff, Ben, the thugs were all
- 18:46Speaker 2: just doing the same thing.
- 18:47Speaker 3: They were like g T A n PCs.
- 18:49Speaker 2: They say, knocking niggas upside the head, you know, making
- 18:52Speaker 2: making stupid catchphrases. They were all one dimensional, so there
- 18:56Speaker 2: was no point for you or or or sense of
- 18:59Speaker 2: you to even vibe with any of them. It was
- 19:01Speaker 2: just like kill them all. And I don't know if
- 19:04Speaker 2: that was purpose, like if he realized his writing him
- 19:06Speaker 2: writing that like that them like that made you realize
- 19:09Speaker 2: that these were cardboard dummies kill them all.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Yeah, And see, that's that's where I have a problem.
- 19:15Speaker 1: I think there's a lot of that in our media
- 19:17Speaker 1: and in this in the mentality of like younger people
- 19:21Speaker 1: like this whole idea of NPCs. Even though I said
- 19:23Speaker 1: that earlier is a really weird way to live life.
- 19:26Speaker 1: To me, it's like when you walk around and think
- 19:28Speaker 1: all these other people are in PC's and I'm the
- 19:30Speaker 1: main player character. You know, no one matters, you know,
- 19:33Speaker 1: And that's what this is feeding into that mentality. It's
- 19:36Speaker 1: like punishes the hero. All these people are expendable, like
- 19:40Speaker 1: my Nucci having that speech to him was interesting, but
- 19:43Speaker 1: then he never reflects on that. It's just like, yeah,
- 19:46Speaker 1: well fuck it, I killed your family.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Well he got time to reflect and she said they in.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Sixty But that's what I'm saying. The story doesn't allow that,
- 19:55Speaker 1: Like that's the problem. And the story is I know,
- 19:57Speaker 1: we're gonna have violence for fifty minutes or fifteen minut
- 20:00Speaker 1: and it's twenty minutes, and then we're gonna have him
- 20:01Speaker 1: go back to more violence and my Nuci is gonna
- 20:04Speaker 1: roll up and stare at him out the window and
- 20:07Speaker 1: nobody's just trying to shoot this man. You know. It's like,
- 20:09Speaker 1: that's what I'm saying. It's silly, but it's silly, and
- 20:12Speaker 1: then it's just so much violence where it's the same
- 20:14Speaker 1: thing that I felt about John Wick, where I was
- 20:16Speaker 1: like John Wick is a psychopath. He's not a hero.
- 20:19Speaker 1: He is the villain of this story. And I feel
- 20:22Speaker 1: like Punisher is definitely the villain of this story. But
- 20:24Speaker 1: people aren't gonna see that. People are gonna call me
- 20:26Speaker 1: a monster and an idiot and everything else under the sun.
- 20:30Speaker 4: No, I think that taps into the whole like moral
- 20:32Speaker 4: dilemma with Daredevil. It's funny we were talking about the
- 20:35Speaker 4: Daredevil season two and some of the points you made
- 20:37Speaker 4: made me dislike it more so silly for me, I
- 20:41Speaker 4: think this and Daredevil should have, not only that's a
- 20:46Speaker 4: whole other conversation tied into each other more, but I
- 20:49Speaker 4: think they should have pulled things from each other. So
- 20:52Speaker 4: to me, Daredevil was lacking in the violence and grittiness
- 20:55Speaker 4: that Netflix gave us. This season was very toned down,
- 20:59Speaker 4: even in terms of the stunts and the fighting. It was.
- 21:02Speaker 4: It was kind of lackluster. This was way better in
- 21:06Speaker 4: terms of action, like every moment I was like hell yeah,
- 21:08Speaker 4: hell yeah, hell yeah. But this was lacking in the
- 21:12Speaker 4: connection to kind of what you've been talking about, the
- 21:15Speaker 4: moral dilemma with like Karen. At least they showed her
- 21:18Speaker 4: because that's like his moral compass. She kind of calms
- 21:20Speaker 4: him down, but her and Daredevil is more like, no,
- 21:24Speaker 4: we need Frank to function up. So it's like I
- 21:26Speaker 4: think both shows.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Right, she's the way, she's the black widow to his
- 21:31Speaker 2: whole basically, Yeah.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Likes going down a connection of like what can balance them?
- 21:36Speaker 4: If that makes sense. This show lacked all of that
- 21:40Speaker 4: connection to the Ice agents and all that.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Yes, and that's that's my that's my problem. It's like
- 21:45Speaker 1: you have just like and they've stated that this is
- 21:48Speaker 1: happening during Born Again season two.
- 21:51Speaker 4: And there was no connection.
- 21:52Speaker 1: No, I wanted to ask you about that. Wait, when
- 21:55Speaker 1: is this one shot happening during Born Again? The like
- 21:58Speaker 1: they say the beginning, I guess is before Born Again
- 22:01Speaker 1: season two, but they say during seasons.
- 22:04Speaker 3: So the raid is happening.
- 22:06Speaker 1: During season two? Happened?
- 22:08Speaker 3: What's happening?
- 22:09Speaker 1: Because yes, and that doesn't consume.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Like that it seemed like it was before.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, this is my question because this isn't Queens right, it's.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Well the truth is it like uptown where where they
- 22:21Speaker 3: shot it?
- 22:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like different parts like.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Some Brooklyn they're doing they're doing it insane different places.
- 22:27Speaker 2: First of all, they said little sicily, which little Italy,
- 22:31Speaker 2: which is way downtown, and then where they shot it
- 22:34Speaker 2: is in damn here in the Bronx.
- 22:37Speaker 4: And in Brooklyn.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Okay, yeah it was. It was some amalgamation New York. Okay. Cool,
- 22:44Speaker 1: so but whatever, a right, So let's just assume that
- 22:47Speaker 1: it does.
- 22:48Speaker 2: It matters because depending on the hood that it could
- 22:51Speaker 2: be a different vibe.
- 22:52Speaker 1: But whatever, No, no, no, it doesn't. I mean it
- 22:53Speaker 1: doesn't matter because I'm saying, this is this comical world
- 22:56Speaker 1: where people are just you know, chaos is in the streets,
- 23:00Speaker 1: and this is still somewhere in New York. This is
- 23:04Speaker 1: a that has the friendly neighborhood Spider Man where we'll
- 23:07Speaker 1: see him interact in the next film, but because they
- 23:10Speaker 1: can't afford him for this, and it's just it's like,
- 23:13Speaker 1: at least ever mentioned in this man like Swingerbye Rocking, somebody.
- 23:18Speaker 2: You have a friend in the next borrow a couple
- 23:20Speaker 2: of boroughs away. You never and you will never long
- 23:23Speaker 2: and you'll never have a conversation. So that was kind
- 23:26Speaker 2: of a really yeah, I get it, Yeah, I.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Get it, but I forgot to call Peter. We haven't
- 23:30Speaker 4: spoken a minute, Like what.
- 23:31Speaker 3: If Peter gonna do? They shooting like I don't know.
- 23:35Speaker 3: I don't know, and.
- 23:36Speaker 2: And I know I had said sources and stuff, but
- 23:38Speaker 2: like they had all matter of weaponry, like they had
- 23:41Speaker 2: like you know, make shure tools incompetence.
- 23:45Speaker 3: It was very Star Trooper level.
- 23:48Speaker 1: That was their main weapon approach.
- 23:50Speaker 2: But they had bombs, they had fucking dynamite, they had
- 23:54Speaker 2: they had all sorts of ship handguns, grenades, you know,
- 23:59Speaker 2: a K automatic semount like they had everything that you
- 24:02Speaker 2: will not never have in New York.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Let's be clear, you will never have that level. I mean,
- 24:09Speaker 1: somebody got it, but legally, trust me, it was just
- 24:13Speaker 1: a sheer amount.
- 24:14Speaker 2: I was like, okay, but that's neither here nor there.
- 24:17Speaker 2: The point is I do I do hear both sides?
- 24:21Speaker 2: You know, like yes, there were some things where it's like, oh,
- 24:24Speaker 2: it's cartoony, and why didn't they do this?
- 24:25Speaker 1: Why do they do that?
- 24:26Speaker 2: But also it was developed as a one shot or
- 24:29Speaker 2: I don't know if it began as a one shot,
- 24:30Speaker 2: but it ended up as a one shot. So how
- 24:33Speaker 2: long was it supposed to but it should it have
- 24:35Speaker 2: been longer to really incorporate more like again, it was
- 24:38Speaker 2: literally in the same format and timing as one of
- 24:42Speaker 2: their series it was forty It sat forty nine minutes,
- 24:45Speaker 2: but I think it was like forty seven minutes of
- 24:47Speaker 2: actual content, So it was just like an episode of Daredevil.
- 24:52Speaker 2: So it was like, well, shit, if you're gonna do that,
- 24:54Speaker 2: you might as well do a little bit more.
- 24:56Speaker 1: And neither of y'all have read I'm not sure not
- 25:00Speaker 1: if you ever read the Garth and his Punisher series
- 25:03Speaker 1: that some of this is based on.
- 25:05Speaker 4: Is that The Wars not war Zone.
- 25:10Speaker 1: That's the one. It went on for a long time,
- 25:12Speaker 1: and there was like two versions of it. There's the
- 25:13Speaker 1: one where he's like shooting Wolverine and run over with
- 25:16Speaker 1: a steamroller, and then there's like the part where he
- 25:20Speaker 1: gets yeah, because that was the cartoonish version the yeah
- 25:25Speaker 1: because Darth Ennis is also the author of The Boys
- 25:27Speaker 1: Boys Yeah, So he did that cartoonish version, and then
- 25:31Speaker 1: he did this other version where Barracuda and everybody comes in,
- 25:34Speaker 1: and it's still a bit cartoonish, but it also gets
- 25:38Speaker 1: very dark. Like It's one of my favorite Punisher series
- 25:42Speaker 1: because especially of this one page where Punishers in the
- 25:45Speaker 1: middle of shooting up like a crack ben you know
- 25:48Speaker 1: crack you know, up in the hood, shooting it up,
- 25:51Speaker 1: and he's having this inner monologue where he's telling telling
- 25:54Speaker 1: a story about this dream yet and in the dream
- 25:57Speaker 1: he's like, I'm shooting up a bunch of people and
- 25:59Speaker 1: I don't know if they're wrong or not. And then
- 26:04Speaker 1: he's like at the end of it, and just like
- 26:05Speaker 1: the end of the issue, and he's like, and sometimes
- 26:07Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm still dreaming, you know, And
- 26:09Speaker 1: now is the end of the issue.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Is which I saw that which I see the parallels
- 26:14Speaker 2: here because in half of this onun Shot, he's fucking dreaming.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he is hallucinations of everybody, his visions.
- 26:22Speaker 3: He's responding to these visions. He's questioning the visions, the
- 26:25Speaker 3: visions like yeah, dog, I'm here and they not.
- 26:29Speaker 2: And uh so that that's interesting that you said that, Ben, Yeah.
- 26:33Speaker 1: But the interesting part is that in that when he
- 26:36Speaker 1: doesn't know if he's you know, ultimately he doesn't know.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's when he wakes up. Like I said,
- 26:42Speaker 2: it took some flit him to be lit on fire
- 26:43Speaker 2: to wake up.
- 26:44Speaker 1: But yeah, but is he it's still it's like, is
- 26:46Speaker 1: he really killing criminals like that?
- 26:48Speaker 2: Think it's just all I saw was a bunch of
- 26:51Speaker 2: cardboard goons running around terrorizing the neighborhood, on on on,
- 26:56Speaker 2: punish your rules.
- 26:57Speaker 1: They deserve it, I guess so. But you look at
- 27:00Speaker 1: the old man.
- 27:01Speaker 2: At the end and he looks, I'm about to do this,
- 27:03Speaker 2: And the old man said, I think that's.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Too Why they opened with that, with the with the
- 27:08Speaker 4: man being like, you know, kind, loving, loving his dog
- 27:11Speaker 4: showing an animal, it's definitely gonna make us feel like.
- 27:16Speaker 1: True they did the loads.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Of course we're gonna feel that.
- 27:20Speaker 3: They did the loads.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Come de nominator to get you immediately like, oh no,
- 27:24Speaker 2: these niggas.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Gotta die.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Full circle. Yeah, the dog the dog situation was terrible.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Oh my god, I didn't think that was gonna happen.
- 27:33Speaker 3: And I will I will say this has been.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Like I said, I still enjoyed it, and it's still
- 27:39Speaker 2: like read like.
- 27:40Speaker 3: True Punisher to me.
- 27:42Speaker 2: And at the same time, I will say it was
- 27:45Speaker 2: actually got to a point where it was like it
- 27:47Speaker 2: was hard still, like I said, even though it was
- 27:49Speaker 2: much better in terms of why.
- 27:51Speaker 3: The violence was happening, it still was a lot of violence.
- 27:54Speaker 2: And like I at one point it actually got to
- 27:58Speaker 2: me in that middle part when the kid at the
- 28:01Speaker 2: end of all of that one when Puncher finally saved
- 28:03Speaker 2: everybody and at the end when the little girl ran
- 28:05Speaker 2: and got the little flower from like, that fucked me up.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Actually, like I started tearing up. Lie tear too, did you?
- 28:11Speaker 2: And it's not because like, oh, this is the saddest
- 28:13Speaker 2: thing I've seen, but I think because I was from
- 28:16Speaker 2: the very beginning we were embroiled in so much violence,
- 28:20Speaker 2: Like I was feeling like I was feeling like how
- 28:23Speaker 2: he was feeling, where it was just nonstoff. And then
- 28:25Speaker 2: the reason why I made it a point to talk
- 28:27Speaker 2: about New York so much is because I've seen, you know,
- 28:30Speaker 2: back in the day really, but I've seen and been
- 28:33Speaker 2: in those situations in those hoods where it's all this
- 28:36Speaker 2: shit going on around you and the noises, the sounds,
- 28:40Speaker 2: and it's hyper stimulating and it's overbearing, and it's you're
- 28:45Speaker 2: in a state of fear constantly, and then you literally
- 28:49Speaker 2: the only really, the only one genuine act of kindness
- 28:52Speaker 2: in the entire one shot was that little girl And
- 28:56Speaker 2: that I think that's where my mind was like, oh, bitch,
- 28:59Speaker 2: here's your chance to call him down now.
- 29:00Speaker 3: And that's why I teared up, Like because I was
- 29:04Speaker 3: on edge.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I see at that same part. That was when it
- 29:08Speaker 1: was really getting to me, the violence when he is
- 29:12Speaker 1: using the blue pin, which is mentioned earlier, and shout
- 29:15Speaker 1: out to Andre Royo, who a lot of people know
- 29:17Speaker 1: from the Wire he played Bubbles on the Wire. He's
- 29:21Speaker 1: to see him. Oh man, he's just brilliant. Yes, and
- 29:26Speaker 1: Andre just brings so much without even having you know,
- 29:29Speaker 1: a bare minimum of lines. He just brings such a
- 29:31Speaker 1: level that every scene he's in. But when he's stabbing him,
- 29:34Speaker 1: I mean, just going to town with this pin and
- 29:37Speaker 1: the woman in the back is screaming the hide your eyes,
- 29:40Speaker 1: hide your eyes, the girl. Yeah, and that's when it's
- 29:44Speaker 1: just like, yeah, man, this is this dude is like
- 29:48Speaker 1: completely a bit the rain. He's monstrous and sure like
- 29:53Speaker 1: these people are all terrorizing the neighborhood, et cetera. But again,
- 29:56Speaker 1: it just felt so comical that that was another point
- 29:59Speaker 1: when it feels comical because he stabs up this dude.
- 30:03Speaker 1: You know, he doesn't stop my Nucci and Barracuda from
- 30:06Speaker 1: driving off. He stabs up this dude and then suddenly
- 30:09Speaker 1: ambulances pull up and the neighborhood just proms down.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Well to play death, I think waiting last guy, the guy.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I think people were waiting for him all that,
- 30:23Speaker 4: like crazy shit was happening and he was just ignoring it.
- 30:26Speaker 4: I think people were waiting for him to do something.
- 30:29Speaker 4: And then on one end with you saying you feel
- 30:33Speaker 4: like the cop thing, I think making him more excessively
- 30:37Speaker 4: violent deters from that thought where it's like, see, I
- 30:42Speaker 4: don't doesn't make me feel like that. It makes me
- 30:44Speaker 4: feel like he's a monster, Like that's.
- 30:47Speaker 3: The because he's do you not see what the cops is?
- 30:50Speaker 1: Excessively violent?
- 30:51Speaker 4: Oh no, I say that too. Absolutely, That's not what
- 30:53Speaker 4: I'm saying. What I'm saying is I think that his
- 30:56Speaker 4: this being like as you're saying, comical, but I think
- 30:59Speaker 4: that to show the disconnect of him and that where
- 31:04Speaker 4: Murdoch is like he'll make excuses or whatever, and Frank
- 31:07Speaker 4: is like, I don't give a fuck, like I'm gonna
- 31:09Speaker 4: stab you in the face whether you do this or that.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Just just we're being to clarify.
- 31:13Speaker 1: I want to.
- 31:13Speaker 3: I want to clarify what you're saying.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I also feel like people are gonna maybe take what
- 31:17Speaker 2: you're saying wrong. And you're saying comical, do you mean
- 31:21Speaker 2: punishing himself, or you mean the scenario in which he
- 31:25Speaker 2: was a.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Scenario, the scenario which it happens. Like I thought the
- 31:27Speaker 1: acwer was dope for the what most part, you know,
- 31:29Speaker 1: very well directed, et cetera. But I think the situations
- 31:33Speaker 1: are extremely comical, like him falling off the building and
- 31:37Speaker 1: then shooting the guys. Happen multiple times. It happened multiple times,
- 31:40Speaker 1: it survives. It got to the John Wick level where
- 31:43Speaker 1: I'm like.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Well he did involved fifty feet less than ten feet
- 31:50Speaker 2: each time.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Okay, but yeah, he gets thrown off the roof, you know,
- 31:56Speaker 1: a good ten feet onto a metal thing by a
- 31:59Speaker 1: strong dude, and then during the fall somehow shoots this guy.
- 32:04Speaker 4: He's also suicidal, so he gives no fucks.
- 32:06Speaker 1: No, no, I'm just saying it's I hear what you're saying.
- 32:09Speaker 2: You're saying, it's a lot of the susional belief.
- 32:13Speaker 1: I'm not done. I'm not done after this fall when
- 32:16Speaker 1: like I said, again, Barracuda, Okay, people don't know from
- 32:19Speaker 1: the common Veracooter is a murderer. He's a killer. He
- 32:22Speaker 1: is Frank Castle on steroids, just like Frank. Right, he
- 32:25Speaker 1: is up there. So they're introducing this character as this menace. Right,
- 32:29Speaker 1: he's there with my new sheet. They have him dead
- 32:31Speaker 1: to rights. He is standing in broad daylight in the
- 32:34Speaker 1: middle of the street, and no one pops a cap
- 32:37Speaker 1: in him. You know, people run at this same scene,
- 32:40Speaker 1: Several people run up on him and scream his name,
- 32:42Speaker 1: Frank Castle. No one just shoots him, you know. People
- 32:46Speaker 1: catch like the big dude threw him off through, had
- 32:48Speaker 1: to drop on him. But he chooses to run up
- 32:51Speaker 1: on him and grab him and throw him off of
- 32:53Speaker 1: the roof instead of just shooting him. It just you
- 32:56Speaker 1: know' That's what I'm saying. It becomes one of these
- 32:57Speaker 1: things where it's like, Okay, I get it, but it's
- 33:00Speaker 1: it's silly if it's trying it the same way I
- 33:03Speaker 1: felt in Dreedo, where it's like, why is no one
- 33:05Speaker 1: sending like that final fight with Kingpin? Why don't they
- 33:08Speaker 1: have competent opponents for the Kingpin to fight? He can
- 33:11Speaker 1: still beat them all to death, but not just a
- 33:14Speaker 1: room full of kids, I mean a hallway for the kids,
- 33:17Speaker 1: you know, have some of the cops do at him
- 33:18Speaker 1: and then he fucks these chops up. I mean, in
- 33:22Speaker 1: your example, in that example, the cops have turned trader.
- 33:25Speaker 1: They had said, no, we're not down with this anymore.
- 33:27Speaker 1: So they should have ran in there and done the
- 33:29Speaker 1: work instead of sending the kids in. But they didn't.
- 33:33Speaker 1: And then in this one, it's just like a bunch
- 33:35Speaker 1: of incompetent fools who just run at this dry and
- 33:37Speaker 1: get killed instead of having it be like the Raid,
- 33:40Speaker 1: where if you watch the Raid, the man has fights
- 33:43Speaker 1: he has to deal with. You know, every fight is
- 33:47Speaker 1: a fight because it's tough, and that makes it that
- 33:50Speaker 1: gives you emotion, that makes you feel things. It just
- 33:53Speaker 1: becomes like, oh my god, all right, can I can
- 33:56Speaker 1: I get done with this? That's how I felt by
- 33:57Speaker 1: the end of it.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Well, they and you already to spend but they set
- 34:01Speaker 2: the stage to to get the viewer to accept the
- 34:05Speaker 2: quote low level stakes of this and like the reality
- 34:08Speaker 2: of it.
- 34:08Speaker 3: This is kind of technically low love for him.
- 34:10Speaker 2: But remember like he's just come out of He just
- 34:13Speaker 2: fucking quote woke up right like he was in his
- 34:16Speaker 2: midst of whatever it was mentally one two. At the
- 34:20Speaker 2: very beginning, he's doing the pull ups, the thing is dripping.
- 34:23Speaker 2: They're trying to show this man is resilient, this man
- 34:25Speaker 2: can take anything, he's a.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Beast, he's a monster whatever.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Like they give all of these context clues in the
- 34:30Speaker 2: scenario that was written to be like this man is
- 34:33Speaker 2: really a monster underneath, and when he acts the vase
- 34:36Speaker 2: is gonna be real?
- 34:38Speaker 3: And is it required?
- 34:41Speaker 2: No, but to make it even more real, they use
- 34:44Speaker 2: the fucking foot soldiers to get rid of them, Like,
- 34:47Speaker 2: I don't think it's going to be I don't think
- 34:48Speaker 2: they he or whomever thought, oh, it's got to be
- 34:51Speaker 2: raid level realponents, and they would just like, Yo, this
- 34:56Speaker 2: is him re emerging. Let's show what happens when he can.
- 34:59Speaker 2: You got NonStop a hundred of them just he just
- 35:02Speaker 2: fucking shut up. I just really think that their their
- 35:05Speaker 2: approach was like it wasn't as much as we're thinking
- 35:10Speaker 2: that it could have been or should be. It was
- 35:12Speaker 2: just more like, yo, we're gonna reintroduce this and this
- 35:16Speaker 2: is him.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Just this is just how he fucking rolls.
- 35:18Speaker 2: And he got you know, not that it was in
- 35:20Speaker 2: vital organs, but he got shot and stabbed a couple
- 35:22Speaker 2: of times.
- 35:23Speaker 3: That was just more than.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Showing like he got a whole Like I don't know
- 35:27Speaker 2: what the fun that was an ice pick that was Yah.
- 35:29Speaker 4: Yeah, the whole thing.
- 35:30Speaker 2: He got shot once, I like at least once, Like
- 35:33Speaker 2: he fell off of fucking buildings, Like yeah. I still
- 35:36Speaker 2: think they were just trying to show, like you know,
- 35:37Speaker 2: this man's a tank, like you know I and I don't.
- 35:40Speaker 2: I'm not saying you said this. I'm just saying that
- 35:42Speaker 2: they're They're also not saying that like.
- 35:44Speaker 3: It was easy for him.
- 35:46Speaker 2: It's just you know, everyone else like scrubs behind him,
- 35:50Speaker 2: regardless of the bullshit weapons they had, regardless of the
- 35:53Speaker 2: non tactics they can remember. It wasn't like it was strategy.
- 35:56Speaker 2: It wasn't like it was planned. These are goons all
- 35:58Speaker 2: out for themselves. There are a bunch of individuals versus
- 36:02Speaker 2: a one man band, one band one sound right.
- 36:06Speaker 1: I get it. She couldn't, like even in Scarface. You
- 36:09Speaker 1: know at the end of Scarface, they send all the
- 36:11Speaker 1: goons and there's one of the dude.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Those were herd goons.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Those were just I put She said, I put a
- 36:17Speaker 2: bounty on you had bounty.
- 36:19Speaker 4: Exactly anybody just I put money out, Like.
- 36:23Speaker 1: You got enough money to put the bounty up, Look,
- 36:26Speaker 1: put ten to the side and get one good goon.
- 36:29Speaker 3: This is what I think I think she thought.
- 36:32Speaker 2: I think it came down to my new chie thought, Oh,
- 36:36Speaker 2: I'm just gonna get a thousand niggas on like did.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Tracy Fan, like did Tracy was in sensing violence.
- 36:42Speaker 2: That I think it was just these characters that all thought.
- 36:47Speaker 2: You thought, like, Oh, I'm just gonna just do this
- 36:50Speaker 2: and that's gonna be enough. I'm gonna send five hundred
- 36:52Speaker 2: niggas after him. It's gonna be enough. I'm gonna get
- 36:55Speaker 2: my revenge. It's gonna be enough. I'm not thinking about
- 36:57Speaker 2: this this this man's been laying on, letting crime happened
- 37:00Speaker 2: around him for who knows how long.
- 37:02Speaker 3: I'm just gonna let an end on him. No, and
- 37:06Speaker 3: didn't ended up like that. It actually you thought, and
- 37:10Speaker 3: here we are, so.
- 37:12Speaker 2: You know, you can use that both as a fault
- 37:14Speaker 2: of how the one shot was written as well as well.
- 37:17Speaker 2: You know, that's just how they were trying to put
- 37:20Speaker 2: purpose into why he was doing what he was doing.
- 37:23Speaker 1: And that he was, like I said, I just expected more. Overall,
- 37:27Speaker 1: I thought it cool, you know it, and I watch again.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I would watch more of this, you know, like if
- 37:32Speaker 1: they continue this people, I would like to see Barracuda
- 37:35Speaker 1: actually become somewhat even though the characters there's a lot
- 37:39Speaker 1: of he's super problem, the big black guy who's walking,
- 37:43Speaker 1: Oh that guy, yeah, yeah yeah, And the comics it's
- 37:47Speaker 1: I mean, it's trifling like Garth, and it is super trifling.
- 37:50Speaker 1: So Barracuda is beyond trifling. But the comic was hilarious.
- 37:55Speaker 1: I can't lie, so that would be interesting. But it
- 37:58Speaker 1: also get back into this real comedic side, you know
- 38:02Speaker 1: that I don't know if they're going to go there,
- 38:04Speaker 1: if they do more of this, because this was really,
- 38:07Speaker 1: you know, trying not to be just for me. It
- 38:09Speaker 1: fell into the comedy side when they don't just shoot
- 38:12Speaker 1: him and they just give me inverting comedy, inaverting comedy,
- 38:15Speaker 1: but it wasn't like intentional. And then my last thought
- 38:18Speaker 1: is that I will say that like I do feel
- 38:21Speaker 1: like this does fuel police more than it does anything
- 38:24Speaker 1: to prevent police violence. Like I think this normalizes violence
- 38:28Speaker 1: to a level where police already feel this way. And
- 38:31Speaker 1: when police watch this, they're going to see themselves as
- 38:34Speaker 1: the punisher because that's how they already see They already
- 38:38Speaker 1: see themselves.
- 38:39Speaker 2: But that's because they're bastardizing the symbol. The symbolism.
- 38:42Speaker 1: No, no, no, beyond that. Hold up. See that's what
- 38:44Speaker 1: I'm say, let me finish. It's not because it has
- 38:46Speaker 1: nothing to do with the punisher that they see themselves
- 38:48Speaker 1: as way police see themselves as way because they're trained
- 38:51Speaker 1: to see everyone as a criminal first. If you're not
- 38:53Speaker 1: a police, you're a criminal, and so they see society
- 38:56Speaker 1: civilians as criminals, just like Punishure does. So this just
- 39:01Speaker 1: fucking normalizes that thought process for them and puts it
- 39:05Speaker 1: on the big screen where it's like this is the hero.
- 39:08Speaker 1: So that's why, like I feel like like Marvel, like
- 39:11Speaker 1: we've had this Distruss before, but Marvel does not get
- 39:14Speaker 1: near enough criticism for its copaganda, for its military ganda,
- 39:19Speaker 1: for its pushing of the nonsense that we live in America, Like,
- 39:23Speaker 1: it doesn't get near enough. And Punish her as a
- 39:25Speaker 1: big problem in it, like compared to their other heroes,
- 39:28Speaker 1: he's the biggest problem. And I feel like it's just unaddressed.
- 39:32Speaker 1: And so that's my you know, that's all I'd say.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Yeah they do this was like oof, this is just
- 39:38Speaker 1: violence for violence sake, and that's never a good thing
- 39:41Speaker 1: to do in America. Man.
- 39:42Speaker 4: I guess what they could have done to kind of
- 39:45Speaker 4: fix that a bit, maybe give us I know, we
- 39:48Speaker 4: got the Mama Nucciese like motivations. Yeah, but I think
- 39:53Speaker 4: if we realized why did she wait so long or
- 39:56Speaker 4: what was her overall plan aside from just like she
- 39:59Speaker 4: got the money. It's not like she needed to raise
- 40:02Speaker 4: the money. So maybe if they showed more extensively of
- 40:06Speaker 4: her plan, maybe her planning a bunch of like I
- 40:09Speaker 4: guess you said, NPC, maybe that could have normally I
- 40:14Speaker 4: nobody said these aren't these people don't belong.
- 40:17Speaker 1: To her.
- 40:19Speaker 4: The bounty, right, maybe she had a better plan, They
- 40:22Speaker 4: could have gotten a tighter structure that could.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Have And I think that's where where the we're critics, right,
- 40:29Speaker 2: so we're looking at this very critically and very you know,
- 40:33Speaker 2: from a constructive viewpoint, right. I think it was just
- 40:37Speaker 2: simply she ain't had no fucking plan. She wanted revenge
- 40:40Speaker 2: because he killed her whole family. And this is what
- 40:44Speaker 2: someone who just wants to literally go nuclear does, who
- 40:48Speaker 2: has the money. She wrote, she pulled off in in
- 40:50Speaker 2: my box, like, come on, bro, Like I don't think
- 40:52Speaker 2: there was necessarily pain. I'm not saying that makes it
- 40:55Speaker 2: good or bad it's just it's could have could have
- 40:59Speaker 2: been better at based on what you're saying, not based
- 41:01Speaker 2: on what Bennison yes, And perhaps in a story for
- 41:05Speaker 2: like a full series format, we would have gotten something
- 41:08Speaker 2: that was tell me your motivation instead of Jess, I'm mad,
- 41:12Speaker 2: I'm gonna kill you or get somebody else to do it.
- 41:15Speaker 1: And more so, I just would have liked to see
- 41:17Speaker 1: and it doesn't come. It doesn't have to come from
- 41:19Speaker 1: Frank because they don't have to be that type of
- 41:20Speaker 1: reflective character. But the idea of what minute she was saying,
- 41:24Speaker 1: you killed my family, doog you know? Like, what do
- 41:27Speaker 1: you mean my family said that verbatim? I know, but
- 41:33Speaker 1: it's like but I.
- 41:34Speaker 4: He means showing more of the consequence, like.
- 41:36Speaker 1: It's just abandoned. But no, it's just I get to
- 41:40Speaker 1: kill one hundred people and I get to go back
- 41:42Speaker 1: killing people and I'm right. And that's where it's like
- 41:46Speaker 1: they know you're.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Not, but you have a problem that they didn't interrogate
- 41:50Speaker 2: the fact that he's going back to what he's doing.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Yes, not exactly right, He's not right. He's judge, jury
- 41:57Speaker 1: and executioner. I say this all the time that if
- 42:00Speaker 1: if you encounter that in real life, you would think
- 42:03Speaker 1: of this white man running through the hood, like I said,
- 42:06Speaker 1: on a multi cultural massacre, shooting black brown everyone. You
- 42:09Speaker 1: would be like, yo, this nigga's psycho put him down.
- 42:12Speaker 1: End of story. Like even if you lived in the
- 42:15Speaker 1: Marble universe with all this shit going on, you would
- 42:18Speaker 1: be like, yo, I gotta deal with fucking Thado's flipping
- 42:21Speaker 1: out and this nigga's out here just shooting niggas. Like, nigga,
- 42:26Speaker 1: what you would be on the side of my nucie,
- 42:29Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Because this nigga does not.
- 42:31Speaker 1: It's like, whatever, Oh, I killed a dog, so you
- 42:34Speaker 1: shoot me in the face. Like what what I mean?
- 42:41Speaker 4: You kill a dog, I'm gonna shoot you in the face.
- 42:43Speaker 2: It's not an equal and opposite reason. However, this guy
- 42:50Speaker 2: has done other murders.
- 42:51Speaker 1: I know that. I know that. But again, judge jury
- 42:53Speaker 1: and execution, Yeah yeah, you know that ship and that's
- 42:57Speaker 1: find me. And once again, this is empowering police because
- 43:00Speaker 1: police arena sitt at home when this coming on TV
- 43:02Speaker 1: and be like, hell, oh yeah, that's me. That's exactly
- 43:05Speaker 1: what I would do, Frank, which is that's.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Why when I talk about the basadization, which I'm just like,
- 43:12Speaker 2: they're missing it, but they're.
- 43:14Speaker 4: Gonna they needed kicking more cops asses, Like why doing ship?
- 43:19Speaker 1: It should be constant and it shouldn't be where there's
- 43:21Speaker 1: no cops at all, because that's super weird that this
- 43:25Speaker 1: ship can just happen and no one shows up.
- 43:27Speaker 2: But you also know that that serious neighborhoods that are
- 43:30Speaker 2: like that where it's very limited, uh to city services
- 43:33Speaker 2: or the cops show and do barely nothing, or they're
- 43:36Speaker 2: more scared than anything and pull off.
- 43:38Speaker 4: Are they playing the game on their phone?
- 43:41Speaker 2: Pulling up and leaving? They literally show that the only
- 43:44Speaker 2: thing you saw at the end was the ambulance.
- 43:45Speaker 4: That's not a candy Crush. They're playing Candy Crush.
- 43:48Speaker 3: You know what I thought was fun was wild to
- 43:50Speaker 3: be in New York.
- 43:51Speaker 2: There was no helicopters, nothing, no aerial support.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Was this is New York. You cannot have one copy.
- 44:01Speaker 1: You have to joke the task for show up. You
- 44:04Speaker 1: have to chose SWAT team showup because this is fucking
- 44:07Speaker 1: New York.
- 44:07Speaker 2: That's why I go back to like, are they even
- 44:09Speaker 2: sure this was supposed to happen at the same time, Yeah,
- 44:12Speaker 2: that's it doesn't.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Continuity regular new York, you know, like regular New York
- 44:18Speaker 1: has fifty million cops. Superhuman New York is that have
- 44:21Speaker 1: fifty million plus.
- 44:23Speaker 2: But I will say regular new York if the timeline
- 44:25Speaker 2: is to be believed, them regular ass cops are like,
- 44:28Speaker 2: oh there's some they don't well again it wasn't.
- 44:32Speaker 1: But they don't want it. They're like, a so they've
- 44:37Speaker 1: been going up. They paid this main respect. I'm like,
- 44:40Speaker 1: the rest of these games is out here. I'll give them.
- 44:43Speaker 2: But I will say this what both of y'all have
- 44:45Speaker 2: been saying. The constinuity was weird to me. I was
- 44:47Speaker 2: a little I was still I'm still a little confused
- 44:49Speaker 2: on when this is happening, why it is happening, and
- 44:51Speaker 2: the integration into.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Like world is this last time?
- 44:55Speaker 3: What world? Is this the same universe?
- 44:57Speaker 2: And also like like I said, like what happened in Daredevil,
- 45:01Speaker 2: like the cops were bastardizing his logo and taking it
- 45:05Speaker 2: and doing It's not that they would do, but in
- 45:08Speaker 2: this I'm like they was on some other day, was
- 45:11Speaker 2: like we out of here, so.
- 45:13Speaker 1: What were you about to say?
- 45:14Speaker 3: Noah, Y're sorry, but we.
- 45:15Speaker 4: Did get a Bronson Jersey.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Yes, we did. We did shout out to the Knicks.
- 45:22Speaker 1: I shout out of the Lakers on my other video
- 45:24Speaker 1: the other day. It's tight, real tight right now. But yeah,
- 45:27Speaker 1: Nick's looking good. Yeah.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Again, I think it depends on what lens you're looking
- 45:33Speaker 2: at this, and if you're just looking this from a
- 45:35Speaker 2: purely entertainment viewer lens, it's there.
- 45:38Speaker 3: This ship was cool, yeah.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Period, cool, good, good seven points if.
- 45:43Speaker 2: You are looking at as we're looking at it, because
- 45:45Speaker 2: we're looking at this critically and trying to understand, make
- 45:47Speaker 2: things make sense, there.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Are so many questions.
- 45:54Speaker 3: I still like it, but.
- 45:55Speaker 1: I still he had a really dope when he I
- 45:58Speaker 1: always loved like this, like the Winter Soldier blade flip.
- 46:02Speaker 1: There was this he did something with the eight when
- 46:04Speaker 1: he reloaded and he like mic So that ship it's
- 46:12Speaker 1: like little touches like that, and I'm like, that was hard.
- 46:14Speaker 1: That was hard, you know, So that gets me.
- 46:17Speaker 4: Yeah, what did you especially for you? What did you
- 46:19Speaker 4: think about the music then?
- 46:22Speaker 1: What there was music?
- 46:24Speaker 4: Yes, there was a scene where they played.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Where they played a love strong, they played Danzi. The
- 46:30Speaker 1: long was cornball. I hate I thought it was weird.
- 46:34Speaker 2: They did the like I don't like that. I don't
- 46:36Speaker 2: like the slow jazz, jaz and R and B on something.
- 46:39Speaker 2: They played out, super played out, played out.
- 46:43Speaker 3: Point so like when they first opened Danzig.
- 46:47Speaker 1: That should go hard every time.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Okay, well but no, there was another one when I'm
- 46:52Speaker 2: talking about the very beginning.
- 46:53Speaker 1: It wasn't Danzick. It was that the rock song like Mother, Yeah,
- 46:57Speaker 1: that's dancing Mother, Yeah, that game of.
- 46:59Speaker 2: The group okay, sorry Mother, Yes. And then when they
- 47:03Speaker 2: did like some scream old.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Music, they did something that I can't remember the name
- 47:06Speaker 1: of the group. It was hate Breed or some bollstered
- 47:08Speaker 1: at the end of yeat. That one I wasn't feeling either.
- 47:10Speaker 1: The Louis Armstrong Show was cornball to me. That was not.
- 47:13Speaker 1: I'm glad you reminded me because when that came on,
- 47:14Speaker 1: I was like, come on, you're.
- 47:21Speaker 2: But I didn't really think about it, right. I was
- 47:23Speaker 2: just like, what's happening on screen?
- 47:24Speaker 1: Because I me too, because the violence was dope.
- 47:26Speaker 4: Like you know, I watched ubtitles, so I like cash
- 47:29Speaker 4: onto those.
- 47:31Speaker 1: Did you like the music?
- 47:34Speaker 4: Yes and no it was a little no. I think
- 47:37Speaker 4: like you said, like it was a little distracting and
- 47:42Speaker 4: I kind of would more so rather like a score.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Than like rather score wrong. It was very much on
- 47:49Speaker 3: the nose.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Yeah, because Mother is used so much too.
- 47:53Speaker 4: That's one of them songs that they Yeah, I can
- 47:55Speaker 4: see what you're saying about the Louis Armstrong, Like that's
- 47:58Speaker 4: been done, like we they'll do slow mo and like
- 48:00Speaker 4: change the music where it makes no sense. Like, yes,
- 48:03Speaker 4: it was cool, but then at the same time, it's
- 48:05Speaker 4: like it's been done a thousand times doubt.
- 48:07Speaker 1: And that was my problem with a lot of it,
- 48:08Speaker 1: like even the violence. Like you said it was Raid,
- 48:10Speaker 1: but Raid light. I saw some John Witch shots and shots,
- 48:15Speaker 1: so it was like overall, I wasn't mad at it,
- 48:18Speaker 1: but I would go watch those other things first, you know,
- 48:21Speaker 1: I'd be like, let me go watch the Raid again if.
- 48:23Speaker 4: Yeah, made me want to watch the radio, yeah, because
- 48:25Speaker 4: I know.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Because the Raid still kills this.
- 48:28Speaker 4: It's just like I got that on devail Man.
- 48:30Speaker 1: There's just too many shots.
- 48:31Speaker 2: And like, honestly there are scenes in the Netflix version
- 48:37Speaker 2: that kill this, Like oh yeah, but.
- 48:41Speaker 3: I you know again, I'm not.
- 48:42Speaker 2: I wasn't really making that comparison with the tul but
- 48:45Speaker 2: if we're talking about it, sure.
- 48:47Speaker 1: I'll never forget yeah, that when there's just one and
- 48:50Speaker 1: I think it's a daredevil. When Frank he's tied up
- 48:53Speaker 1: to this chair and I can't remember how you get
- 48:55Speaker 1: free from the chair, but he grabs his shotgun, cots
- 48:57Speaker 1: it with one hand and shoots this dude to the right.
- 49:00Speaker 1: He's walking out of the room, and it is like,
- 49:02Speaker 1: holy shit, that's the fucking bun I mean right, I
- 49:05Speaker 1: mean that.
- 49:06Speaker 2: I mean there's stuff that's been done in the in
- 49:08Speaker 2: the Netflix stair deevil, you know the one what is it?
- 49:11Speaker 3: The continuous shot? Like, yes, you can name a bunch.
- 49:15Speaker 2: Of other better done or you know, versions of that,
- 49:20Speaker 2: but I still think it was decent.
- 49:22Speaker 1: You know, this was decent. This is like I say,
- 49:24Speaker 1: if I'm not thinking about anything else, I give it
- 49:27Speaker 1: seven five eight, No, seven five, I.
- 49:32Speaker 3: Can't hit eight.
- 49:33Speaker 4: But after the discussion I can see the seven point five. Yeah,
- 49:37Speaker 4: I think a little more critically.
- 49:38Speaker 1: But no, if I think critically, this joint drop blowing,
- 49:41Speaker 1: and that if I'm just watching it for entertainment values.
- 49:46Speaker 4: Entertainment value, I gave it eight.
- 49:48Speaker 3: Okay, what is the plan though?
- 49:49Speaker 2: So like they're gonna drop this and then what like
- 49:52Speaker 2: I mean when I say the plan. I mean, like
- 49:54Speaker 2: I had said in the beginning, like it was kind
- 49:56Speaker 2: of a reintroduction. It just gives you it's read okay,
- 50:01Speaker 2: now what well?
- 50:02Speaker 1: That is my last question for both of y'all is
- 50:05Speaker 1: how the hell does this work with Brand New Day?
- 50:07Speaker 1: Because punish it, I mean I punished with John said
- 50:10Speaker 1: in another interview where that he really he understands that
- 50:14Speaker 1: these are tonally two different projects, you know, as far
- 50:18Speaker 1: part as they can.
- 50:19Speaker 2: Is he saying, just this version of him is the
- 50:21Speaker 2: one that pops out and ends up in New Brand
- 50:24Speaker 2: New Day.
- 50:24Speaker 1: Yes, so he's like, you know, he wanted to make
- 50:26Speaker 1: sure and they worked with Dustin the director, and both
- 50:29Speaker 1: you know, all the projects were working together to make
- 50:32Speaker 1: sure that this punisher, this cycle path that we just
- 50:35Speaker 1: saw is doing to show up in Brand New Day.
- 50:38Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be like too much of what
- 50:40Speaker 2: we saw on the trailers, where you're gonna see this angry.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Guy, I think, and you know, Peter, it's gonna be
- 50:47Speaker 3: his usual joke of yourself like what are you doing?
- 50:49Speaker 3: Are you doing? You know, and it's just it's just
- 50:52Speaker 3: gonna be what it is, Like.
- 50:53Speaker 1: I think he gets served rather quickly and this.
- 50:56Speaker 4: Brand new day is like Peter's gonna like website has
- 50:58Speaker 4: gone away.
- 50:59Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, like tap him into unconsciousness or something,
- 51:03Speaker 1: because yeah, I don't see him being I mean, he's
- 51:06Speaker 1: not a threat to Spider Man on any level, you know,
- 51:09Speaker 1: but there's no world where he has like especially this
- 51:12Speaker 1: version of the Punisher versus Spider Man. There's no way, no.
- 51:16Speaker 1: So yeah, I see it working. It's just to be
- 51:18Speaker 1: interested in how it works.
- 51:20Speaker 4: Oh, Tatiana, to your point about the it basically kind
- 51:24Speaker 4: of being like a reintroduction, Like what do you think
- 51:27Speaker 4: in terms of like people that didn't I mean, I
- 51:30Speaker 4: was obsessed with the Netflix series. I watched everything, but
- 51:32Speaker 4: maybe for people that didn't watch that, they could probably
- 51:35Speaker 4: just literally jump into this. Like they even showed the
- 51:38Speaker 4: the one batch two batch book that his daughter was reading,
- 51:41Speaker 4: and that's like the phrase he always says. So I
- 51:43Speaker 4: feel like they try to put like little Easter eggs
- 51:45Speaker 4: in there. Yeah, where for new people I guess that
- 51:49Speaker 4: want to get I mean everyone should know the Punisher,
- 51:52Speaker 4: but if you don't know the Punisher, you're kind of
- 51:55Speaker 4: like an introductory way to show like the little things
- 51:57Speaker 4: that make him.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Hey, I think whether or not. This was just a
- 52:02Speaker 2: passion project for John or it was purposefully meant to
- 52:05Speaker 2: be that entry point. This is what's gonna it's gonna
- 52:08Speaker 2: serve as it's gonna be. People say, I'm not here
- 52:10Speaker 2: to watch two three seasons of whatever the fun happened
- 52:12Speaker 2: on Netflix. Tell me who this guy is. Go watch
- 52:14Speaker 2: this forty five minute one shot. Now you know who
- 52:17Speaker 2: Punisher is. Go watch spider Man.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it feels like less of a well I think
- 52:21Speaker 1: the passion was I want to get paid today, devil. Yeah,
- 52:29Speaker 1: there it is. It feels like, y'all, I didn't but you.
- 52:31Speaker 3: Said he bag to write, to write this and do
- 52:34Speaker 3: this like he was.
- 52:35Speaker 1: There's a lot to it, like because I.
- 52:36Speaker 3: Don't even like, did he write everything?
- 52:39Speaker 1: You know, him and him and the writer, him and
- 52:41Speaker 1: the director did write this together.
- 52:42Speaker 3: Okay, allegedly who directed this? Do you know?
- 52:45Speaker 4: Oh the director's name was so familiar.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Crap.
- 52:49Speaker 3: Well, as we keep talking, we'll figure this out.
- 52:51Speaker 1: But the part is like he left Born Again Ronaldo
- 52:56Speaker 1: Ronaldo somebody I can remember his last name, but he
- 52:59Speaker 1: left Born Again and because he said they weren't doing
- 53:02Speaker 1: it right when they first did it, you know, and
- 53:04Speaker 1: he was like yo, y'all messing this up. So I
- 53:06Speaker 1: think him leaving was one of the big things where
- 53:08Speaker 1: they went back to the original showrunners and they you know,
- 53:10Speaker 1: they got to punish the showrunner. That's who's doing Born
- 53:13Speaker 1: Again now. So that's what brought him back. They redid
- 53:16Speaker 1: it and that's who's doing.
- 53:17Speaker 4: That's why it was nice and violent.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Yes, and but I do feel like he was like, yo,
- 53:23Speaker 1: now that we got this throwing and born against drowing,
- 53:25Speaker 1: I want to make sure the new audience, you know,
- 53:28Speaker 1: the Born Again audience who might not know me, let
- 53:31Speaker 1: me get this popping again and get this money. You know.
- 53:34Speaker 4: So this is interesting. He's the director of Bob Marley OneLove.
- 53:38Speaker 1: Yes, what yep? Okay.
- 53:40Speaker 4: I was like, I know, I recognized him. I interviewed him.
- 53:44Speaker 3: I guess you have range.
- 53:44Speaker 1: But yeah, so there it is. So I think this
- 53:47Speaker 1: was like a passion because he loves the character and
- 53:49Speaker 1: he wanted to reintroduce it and possibly get a new
- 53:53Speaker 1: season popping out of it.
- 53:54Speaker 3: And that's why you said money.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, definitely money, money, fam money, the money, you
- 54:00Speaker 1: know what I mean, cocaine.
- 54:01Speaker 2: Cheap, Ronaldo Marcus screen a brother, a brother, hen Bronx
- 54:08Speaker 2: New York.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Okay, New York.
- 54:10Speaker 3: He did King Richard as well. Ye, we own the
- 54:12Speaker 3: City Monsters and Men.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and we owned the City.
- 54:15Speaker 3: Which boy made three episodes. Three episodes.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Yeah, we owned this city was one of them joints.
- 54:20Speaker 1: I watched the pilot and I was like, Nope, this
- 54:22Speaker 1: is dark. Like I'm not going any further on that.
- 54:26Speaker 1: That was. That was and that's like it's a lot.
- 54:29Speaker 1: It starts off with some cops. Baron was a cop
- 54:32Speaker 1: and they're chasing some drug dealers whatever in the high
- 54:35Speaker 1: speed chase. I think it's in New York and they
- 54:37Speaker 1: hit an elderly black man walking across the street or
- 54:42Speaker 1: they hit his car one or the other. It was, yeah,
- 54:44Speaker 1: they killed him. And so it was like, O don't
- 54:46Speaker 1: know this is yeah, so.
- 54:47Speaker 2: This I thought it was a passion project because he
- 54:49Speaker 2: was very passionate to teach Nadia how to do the cokelon.
- 54:51Speaker 4: Yes, I show you.
- 54:55Speaker 1: You know what I mean. That's all I'm saying, folks, Look, look,
- 54:58Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 55:00Speaker 2: All right, don't wait to close it out? Like, would
- 55:03Speaker 2: you recommend people watch what is it?
- 55:05Speaker 1: Now?
- 55:06Speaker 2: It's called ass kill, which ain't like, which is like
- 55:11Speaker 2: it's literally a set up for for thousands of kills
- 55:13Speaker 2: to come.
- 55:14Speaker 1: So he murdered so many people in this one. If
- 55:17Speaker 1: it was like, you know, he's doing for the one
- 55:19Speaker 1: person he missed out on, I could understand that. But
- 55:21Speaker 1: it was like, no, he didn't even get my nutie,
- 55:23Speaker 1: the one person he missed out on, like.
- 55:26Speaker 4: Another.
- 55:27Speaker 2: That's another reason why I didn't realize it was the
- 55:28Speaker 2: one shot, because it didn't. They didn't use one shot Moniker.
- 55:31Speaker 2: They said special presentation.
- 55:33Speaker 3: I was like, okay, yeah, maybe that was like his.
- 55:38Speaker 4: I don't know moral compass.
- 55:40Speaker 1: Let me want to kill on my compass like you
- 55:43Speaker 1: Now I can go back.
- 55:44Speaker 2: Kill this past version, and now I've been reincarnated to
- 55:50Speaker 2: the to.
- 55:50Speaker 1: The to the new fate.
- 55:51Speaker 3: I got my fate who.
- 55:53Speaker 1: Was to kill or I killed the oldver there it
- 55:56Speaker 1: is I killed. I killed that soft ass punisher who
- 56:02Speaker 1: the worst one?
- 56:05Speaker 2: Kill that crying as he's the worst.
- 56:09Speaker 3: I had to wake up his legs. It took him
- 56:11Speaker 3: to be on.
- 56:12Speaker 1: Fire standing there watching it.
- 56:15Speaker 2: He was asleep and so like even watching his neighbor
- 56:18Speaker 2: get assaulted.
- 56:20Speaker 3: He was and what thought he was on fire where
- 56:23Speaker 3: he said, this.
- 56:24Speaker 1: Time it's me, I'm I'm him. You're right, he didn't.
- 56:31Speaker 1: He was sitting there watching them get assaulted. This man
- 56:35Speaker 1: is not a hero, well, I guess.
- 56:40Speaker 3: And he needed that.
- 56:41Speaker 2: He needed the ghosts and that little echo, the little
- 56:44Speaker 2: girl saying help for him to be like because remember
- 56:46Speaker 2: he was choosing that last part. He was choosing between
- 56:49Speaker 2: chasing after Ma my new chi or going back to
- 56:53Speaker 2: helping quote the neighborhood, that the same neighborhood that he helped
- 56:56Speaker 2: the sendate to care again.
- 56:57Speaker 1: A gun would have solved his problems or mind.
- 57:00Speaker 2: It's funny, but listen, he is both the problem and
- 57:03Speaker 2: the solution which.
- 57:06Speaker 3: Everything that's sending into chaos.
- 57:08Speaker 1: I'm saying he could have picked up a gun off
- 57:10Speaker 1: the street with there are plenty at that point, shot
- 57:12Speaker 1: my new SHEI and save dude like it would have
- 57:15Speaker 1: been no problem. Some classic awesome powers. I have a
- 57:21Speaker 1: gut upstairs, Dad, I can run up there. We can
- 57:23Speaker 1: shoot them together. It'll be fun.
