- 0:01Speaker 1: Oh, WWE is coming back to Australia this December. Wrestlepalooza
- 0:08Speaker 1: in Perth. Smackdown and Raw. LiveNation.com.au for tickets. If you
- 0:14Speaker 1: love watching people just belt the crap out of each other.
- 0:23Speaker 2: This....
- 0:25Speaker 3: Here's your winner and still the NXT Women's North.
- 0:34Speaker 1: American Champion, Zaria.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Yeah, Zaria.
- 0:37Speaker 1: She's from Adelaide, Aussie girl making it big, the reigning
- 0:40Speaker 1: women's world champ, and she's on the show right now.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Hello.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Well, I'm sure it feels comfortable to hear a familiar accent.
- 0:47Speaker 3: It does. It's very comforting.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I have to paint a picture here. Damn, you were jacked.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Those delts. I am. Fuck me. Those arms. Holy shit.
- 1:00Speaker 1: You put me to shame.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Oh, you know.
- 1:03Speaker 1: You are just a vision. Let me tell you. Oh,
- 1:05Speaker 1: thank you. Now, I mean, we'll get the news out
- 1:08Speaker 1: of the way. They're bringing WWE back to Perth. Yes.
- 1:12Speaker 3: How exciting is that?
- 1:12Speaker 1: This is huge.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:14Speaker 3: For the next three years.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Wow. Yep.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Is this exciting? Like as someone who grew up in
- 1:20Speaker 1: Australia to then like come here, wrestle in the WWE
- 1:24Speaker 1: and but then now be able to take it home
- 1:27Speaker 1: and work at home?
- 1:29Speaker 3: I am dying to come back home and wrestle in
- 1:34Speaker 3: Australia again.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Like I can't tell you almost every day I think
- 1:38Speaker 3: about wrestling in Australia.
- 1:39Speaker 2: So the fact that we're coming back to Australia, we're
- 1:43Speaker 2: coming back to Perth, it's now going to be for
- 1:46Speaker 2: the next three years, thanks to WWE partnering with Tourism
- 1:50Speaker 2: Western Australia.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:52Speaker 3: For the next three years, I get a chance to
- 1:53Speaker 3: wrestle back in my home country.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Now, talk me through the training. Talk me through, like,
- 1:57Speaker 1: how you stay so fit. Well. Like, are you in
- 2:01Speaker 1: the gym every day? Oof.
- 2:04Speaker 3: I give myself maybe one to two rest days. Okay.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Every day.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Sorry to interrupt. How many calories a day are you doing?
- 2:10Speaker 1: Because you like, again, I don't need to be like,
- 2:13Speaker 1: your arms are like incredible and you are just so solid.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I saw you walking down the hallway and I was
- 2:18Speaker 1: like that, that tapering back V there. I'm like, damn. Um, yeah.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. I don't even know how many calories.
- 2:26Speaker 1: You just eat constantly?
- 2:27Speaker 3: Probably too much.
- 2:27Speaker 1: All the time. All the time. All the time.
- 2:29Speaker 2: And I also eat a lot of things that I
- 2:31Speaker 2: probably shouldn't eat either. So that might help to contribute
- 2:35Speaker 2: to the size.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Tell me what sort of physical toll wrestling takes on
- 2:38Speaker 1: your body.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Look, I can't remember the last time a body part
- 2:44Speaker 3: didn't hurt. Really?
- 2:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Okay. Yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 2: My neck hurts, my back hurts, you know, so there's,
- 2:51Speaker 2: it's a lot and it can be really tiring, especially
- 2:53Speaker 2: when like, You know, you've got a training for two
- 2:55Speaker 2: hours straight.
- 2:56Speaker 3: You're running around, rolling around, all that.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Stuff, and wrestling at least once a week, at least
- 3:02Speaker 2: once a week, sometimes twice. Sometimes you wrestle three days
- 3:05Speaker 2: in a row, five days in a row. So it's
- 3:08Speaker 2: a lot, but, you know, your body sort of builds
- 3:11Speaker 2: up the cows, and that's why we've got to be big.
- 3:12Speaker 3: We've got to be big. We've got to be strong
- 3:14Speaker 3: because if you're not, your body can't take it.
- 3:16Speaker 1: For people who are only discovering your character in the WWE,
- 3:20Speaker 1: what are your famous signature moves? Do you trash talk people?
- 3:24Speaker 1: What will people get to see you do in the flesh?
- 3:28Speaker 3: A lot of throwing people around. Okay, great.
- 3:31Speaker 1: How many tables have we broken on a reg?
- 3:33Speaker 3: Oh, well, okay. For me recently, not that many.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Okay, disappointing.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Well, you know, maybe a couple of years.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Ago I was breaking a lot more tables.
- 3:44Speaker 2: But I'm looking forward to doing that more in the future.
- 3:46Speaker 2: But yeah, my finishing move is an F5.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Do you want to try that on me now or
- 3:51Speaker 1: would we not walk out of here?
- 3:52Speaker 3: Oh, you wouldn't be able to get back up. You
- 3:54Speaker 3: wouldn't be able to get back up and I don't
- 3:55Speaker 3: want to do that to you.
- 3:56Speaker 1: No, don't hurt me. Please don't kill me. I need
- 3:58Speaker 1: to go home. So that's the finishing move? Mm-hmm. Yep.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Do you shout at people? Do you yell at people?
- 4:04Speaker 1: Do you, like, say offensive things?
- 4:07Speaker 2: I think I'm yelling and I'm grunting. I keep the
- 4:11Speaker 2: offensive things to my opponent, maybe not to the people.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think most of my talking is through
- 4:18Speaker 3: my throwing around.
- 4:19Speaker 1: No, I like that. Definitely, yeah. I like that. You've
- 4:22Speaker 1: got family in Australia still, right? Mm-hmm, yeah. They're going
- 4:24Speaker 1: to come out and see you wrestle? Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Uh, if, if I get to make it, then they're
- 4:30Speaker 3: just straight away.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Love it. When you said you were, did you want
- 4:33Speaker 1: to do it since you were a kid?
- 4:35Speaker 2: So I have an older brother. He was the one
- 4:38Speaker 2: that always wanted to do it. We would, we would
- 4:40Speaker 2: wrestle each other when we were siblings. Um, I'd be
- 4:42Speaker 2: the little wrestling dummy.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Um, he'd throw you around.
- 4:45Speaker 2: He'd throw me around. Uh, and then, so he got
- 4:48Speaker 2: into wrestling. So that got me into wrestling, like back
- 4:51Speaker 2: into wrestling and, uh, And then we were a tag team.
- 4:55Speaker 3: We threw each other around. And now, you know, now
- 4:58Speaker 3: I'm throwing other people around in the WWE.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I love it. For people who are listening, you have
- 5:01Speaker 1: a belt on your shoulder here. Congratulations. Should I say?
- 5:05Speaker 1: When did you win this?
- 5:06Speaker 2: This is the North American Championship.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:10Speaker 3: I won this.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Oh, gosh.
- 5:12Speaker 3: When did I win this? I think maybe two months ago.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yeah. And so I've been.
- 5:19Speaker 1: You just carry that around just regularly, right? Everywhere.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I've got to let everybody know who I am.
- 5:24Speaker 1: You go get coffee.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Just to have that on your shoulder.
- 5:27Speaker 3: For free. I get coffee for free for this thing.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Because you have that on your shoulder.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I would have gotten it
- 5:31Speaker 3: for free if I didn't have it, but, you know,
- 5:33Speaker 3: it always helps.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Do you lock that away at night?
- 5:37Speaker 3: I sleep with it.
- 5:37Speaker 1: You sleep with it? Yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 3: I've got to keep it close to me, you know?
- 5:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:41Speaker 1: What's the fan interactions like? Do they come up to
- 5:44Speaker 1: you in the street?
- 5:46Speaker 3: The bold ones do.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:48Speaker 3: The bold ones do, but... Most of the time, a
- 5:50Speaker 3: lot of people are very scared.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Are they scared of you?
- 5:53Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh, you see this walking down the street? Are
- 5:56Speaker 3: you going to approach it?
- 5:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but do you look like this normally? I just
- 6:00Speaker 1: don't know. Obviously, I've seen you like this and I've
- 6:02Speaker 1: only met you for the first time and you look
- 6:04Speaker 1: like how I've seen you.
- 6:07Speaker 3: So, all right.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Sometimes maybe a McDonald's employee or a Chick-fil-A employ me. Yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Employ me?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Hello?
- 6:15Speaker 3: Or the … The gas station at Wawa might see
- 6:19Speaker 3: me like this from time to time after a show.
- 6:21Speaker 3: But on the regular basis, I.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Do it a little bit. Are you incognito? Can you, like,
- 6:25Speaker 1: without all of this?
- 6:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I think.
- 6:28Speaker 1: You're unrecognisable?
- 6:29Speaker 3: To some people, the red hair does give it away.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 3: But to other people... they won't recognize me without the makeup,
- 6:35Speaker 3: which is very nice.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah, so you can just do your normal things.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Normal people things.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Normal people things. And be like shopping at the supermarket
- 6:45Speaker 1: and just putting anything in your trolley and then it
- 6:47Speaker 1: doesn't really matter.
- 6:48Speaker 2: I could be at Publix or if I'm back at home,
- 6:50Speaker 2: I could be at Woolworths and just buying some chicken.
- 6:53Speaker 1: No one will ever know. Barbecue chicken in a bag.
- 6:57Speaker 3: No one will ever know who they're standing next to.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yeah. What's your worst injury that you've had? Because I
- 7:03Speaker 1: talked about your fitness and you said you wake up
- 7:05Speaker 1: literally every day sore.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:08Speaker 3: But, yeah, I've never had a major injury. Knock on
- 7:12Speaker 3: wood that I, you know.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I don't know where the wood. There's no, you know. Yeah.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Yeah. So thankfully I haven't had like a very long
- 7:21Speaker 2: lasting injury. It's just been like little things that, you know,
- 7:25Speaker 2: you might sprain your ankle.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Or bruises. tear some little things in, like, your shoulders
- 7:30Speaker 3: or whatever.
- 7:31Speaker 2: But, yeah, thankfully I've never had any injuries and hopefully
- 7:34Speaker 2: I won't for a very long time. But it's all
- 7:37Speaker 2: the little things where it's just, you know, falling around
- 7:40Speaker 2: on your neck a lot.
- 7:41Speaker 1: It takes a toll, but, yeah, yeah.
- 7:44Speaker 3: A lot of muscle soreness too.
- 7:45Speaker 1: And obviously you train how to handle– those moves that
- 7:49Speaker 1: are taken on you. But every time you're out there
- 7:52Speaker 1: doing it, there is a slight chance if I don't
- 7:55Speaker 1: land this correctly or if I don't take that hit
- 7:57Speaker 1: the right way, this could be bad.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Yes, absolutely.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Like safety is your personal safety. You have to
- 8:04Speaker 1: be so responsible for it, right?
- 8:06Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 8:07Speaker 2: And that's also like it comes into recovery as well.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Like you've got to spend– when you're not in the gym,
- 8:12Speaker 2: you've got to be spending a lot of time recovering.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Are we ice bathing? What are we doing?
- 8:16Speaker 3: Look– I've done a nice bath once in my life
- 8:19Speaker 3: and never again.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Yeah, okay.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Not unless I absolutely have to. No, I use the
- 8:25Speaker 2: sauna a lot. I love the sauna.
- 8:26Speaker 1: The sauna? Okay.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Yeah. WWE also has a great medical and, you know,
- 8:34Speaker 2: rehab team.
- 8:35Speaker 3: So there's, yeah, there's a lot of like the facility
- 8:38Speaker 3: there is great. So a lot of recovery.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Last question. Is there like a group chat? Like when
- 8:42Speaker 1: you hate each other in the ring... are you like
- 8:45Speaker 1: group chatting and kicking outside of it? Or are we like,
- 8:49Speaker 1: do we like hate each other nonstop?
- 8:51Speaker 2: Uh, wrestlers aren't very, uh, very, very secretive. So there
- 8:56Speaker 2: is no group chat. If, if we're, we're probably surrounding you.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:59Speaker 3: We're surrounding you talking, talking shit right to your face.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Okay.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Okay.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I love that. I love that. Um, you're getting back
- 9:05Speaker 1: in Perth in December.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Uh, being three shows.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Yes. Raw, Smackdown and Wrestle Palooza.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 9:11Speaker 3: December 11th to 14th.
- 9:12Speaker 1: And are you doing every one of those or does
- 9:14Speaker 1: it all come down to?
- 9:15Speaker 2: Look, I don't know yet, but I'm keeping my fingers
- 9:19Speaker 2: crossed that I get to come back to Australia.
- 9:21Speaker 1: We can't wait to have it there.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Thank you so much.
