- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with on our radio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's time for headlines today. We have some headlines to
- 0:09Speaker 2: talk about.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Now.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Usually when we break down headlines, we'll have a whole
- 0:13Speaker 2: list like ten headlines, some of them major, some of
- 0:16Speaker 2: them minor, some of them just great updates. This episode, specifically,
- 0:20Speaker 2: we're going to concentrate on two headlines that feel like
- 0:24Speaker 2: they're dominating the airways of Bachelor Nation, and we want
- 0:30Speaker 2: to do a deep dive into both on what we know,
- 0:34Speaker 2: what we think, and any details that might have been
- 0:39Speaker 2: missed along the way as you've just been catching up
- 0:41Speaker 2: scrolling through your social media. The first headline is this,
- 0:46Speaker 2: it's actually what we're gonna call it a topic. It's
- 0:49Speaker 2: the Gabby versus Clayton situation going on right now. Ashley,
- 0:55Speaker 2: this is about a week going on that's just on
- 1:00Speaker 2: what's happened for anybody that has no idea what we're
- 1:02Speaker 2: talking about.
- 1:04Speaker 3: All right, So Gabby was on the Lost Culture Restas
- 1:08Speaker 3: podcast and she's just you know, chatting about her life
- 1:13Speaker 3: and they brought up Clayton and she said that Clayton's
- 1:18Speaker 3: dance posts on Instagram and TikTok will make you run,
- 1:21Speaker 3: it'll it'll make you wish you didn't have eyes. And
- 1:25Speaker 3: then I could see there's some humor in that. But
- 1:30Speaker 3: then she says he looked like a toe, and then
- 1:34Speaker 3: it made and then she made a reference to like
- 1:37Speaker 3: the Bachelor universe, where like you're filming and you're like
- 1:41Speaker 3: wrapped up in a situation, and then like all of
- 1:43Speaker 3: a sudden, you're basically like attracted to somebody who like
- 1:46Speaker 3: looks like a toe, or you're like admitting feelings for
- 1:49Speaker 3: somebody that you just don't think is that much to
- 1:52Speaker 3: look at.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Let me pause you here, because this is the first
- 1:56Speaker 2: big statement made by Gabby. I don't quite know if
- 1:59Speaker 2: I know what she's talking about. So is she like
- 2:01Speaker 2: saying he looks like a toe, or is that some
- 2:03Speaker 2: like new age new verbiage that like references something else,
- 2:08Speaker 2: or is he she like literally comparing him to a toe.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I think it might be kind of both.
- 2:12Speaker 3: But I know that when people say you look like
- 2:14Speaker 3: a toe, like when people say that, it usually just
- 2:17Speaker 3: means like you're just not cute.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Okay, all right, so.
- 2:21Speaker 3: There you go. And then like I totally understand why
- 2:25Speaker 3: this would be offensive to Clayton and like, I don't
- 2:29Speaker 3: know that I would personally respond because like sometimes I
- 2:33Speaker 3: feel like there's like more power and not showing that
- 2:36Speaker 3: it got to But Clayton got on his own social
- 2:39Speaker 3: media and he called her out for being a bully
- 2:43Speaker 3: because she's talking shit about his looks and his passions.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Like he has talked about how dancing has made him
- 2:51Speaker 3: just like a happier person and it's been an outlet
- 2:53Speaker 3: for him when he was in a deep dark depression
- 2:56Speaker 3: after the show.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And lots of Bachelornatione came to his support.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Joan was very vocal in the comments section Kelly Flanagan
- 3:05Speaker 3: and Dotton also he said, that's how you handle it,
- 3:08Speaker 3: my guy, mad respect you keep doing you Clayton, And
- 3:11Speaker 3: this is not where the drama ends. But Ben, do
- 3:14Speaker 3: you have anything to comment on here, because like right now,
- 3:18Speaker 3: at this point, I am definitely team Clayton, Like, you know,
- 3:23Speaker 3: he stood up for himself and she was being I
- 3:26Speaker 3: don't know if I like like bully, Like bully is
- 3:29Speaker 3: like what I think about when you're like like harassing
- 3:33Speaker 3: someone on the playground. But like here, I just think
- 3:37Speaker 3: she's being mean. You know, It's just she's just saying
- 3:41Speaker 3: one nice things that she could just keep to herself.
- 3:43Speaker 3: You know, if you want to make fun of your ex,
- 3:45Speaker 3: just say it to your friends.
- 3:47Speaker 1: You don't have to say it on a podcast.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I mean, I think bullying is any time anybody of
- 3:51Speaker 2: influencer power uses that influence and power over somebody else. Right,
- 3:56Speaker 2: that can be like physical strength, platform whatever. Gabby obviously
- 4:00Speaker 2: has a bigger platform than Clayton. Her following, especially coming
- 4:04Speaker 2: off of Traders, is so much greater than Clayton's that
- 4:07Speaker 2: you know, what, what is she actually doing here by
- 4:12Speaker 2: even speaking about Clayton, because right now she's off doing
- 4:16Speaker 2: this totally different thing. I think what I Yeah, at
- 4:21Speaker 2: this moment in the conversation, based on her podcast, I
- 4:24Speaker 2: do think it is. It is just simply mean, And
- 4:30Speaker 2: I think I would imagine Gabby could admit that, like
- 4:33Speaker 2: she wasn't saying this to uplift Clayton or be nice,
- 4:36Speaker 2: like this was a mean thing to say his dancing, though,
- 4:41Speaker 2: I would say, hey, if you're critical of it, I
- 4:44Speaker 2: don't know if that's necessarily a problem, Like you don't
- 4:47Speaker 2: have to watch his videos.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I don't think it's a.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Turn on, like me watching him on Instagram dance I'd
- 4:53Speaker 3: be like, mmm, that's not That's not something that I
- 4:58Speaker 3: want to see from my husband. But I know it's okay.
- 5:01Speaker 2: But if it's if he's doing it strictly because it
- 5:03Speaker 2: makes him happy, great, But he also has to realize
- 5:07Speaker 2: I think at this moment in time, I'm just saying
- 5:09Speaker 2: what from what I know. He also has to realize
- 5:12Speaker 2: that people are going to be critical of his dancing
- 5:15Speaker 2: if he's going to post it on social media. Like
- 5:17Speaker 2: we always say, if you share it with the public,
- 5:20Speaker 2: you're opening the public up for opinion. Not everybody has
- 5:22Speaker 2: to be like, Oh, Clayton, look how great you are
- 5:24Speaker 2: at doing these moves. They can be like, hey, man,
- 5:27Speaker 2: like this is weird for me to watch. That's okay.
- 5:30Speaker 2: If it was really just for his mental health, he
- 5:32Speaker 2: would keep it, you know, private, But maybe he is
- 5:35Speaker 2: getting some satisfaction out of the positive comments that do
- 5:37Speaker 2: come along the way.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Ben totally totally agree with you her saying his dancing
- 5:43Speaker 3: post will make you ron you'll wish you didn't have eyes.
- 5:46Speaker 3: That's her being funny. I think it crosses the line
- 5:50Speaker 3: into being mean when she says, like this show is
- 5:52Speaker 3: going to make you like fall for somebody who looks
- 5:54Speaker 3: like a cow.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yes, one hundred percent agree. Okay, So that's where we
- 5:59Speaker 2: start this thing out at. And also moving on then
- 6:03Speaker 2: to Clayton's response to her saying these things about looking
- 6:07Speaker 2: like a toe and his dance dancing particularly and Ashley
- 6:13Speaker 2: take it away with his response.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Okay, Well, his response was him being like, you're bullying
- 6:21Speaker 3: me over looks and passions, and that's where he got
- 6:25Speaker 3: all like the responses from bachtinnations saying, you know, way
- 6:29Speaker 3: to defend yourself.
- 6:31Speaker 1: She's being a little bitchy.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Which is totally good too. I will say that's totally fine.
- 6:35Speaker 2: You should defend yourself this.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Back and forth totally fine, cool, fine.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I mean, well, you know she was being mean, but
- 6:40Speaker 3: she was also I could see her being a little
- 6:42Speaker 3: funny in there too. I can if she was going
- 6:44Speaker 3: to defend herself by saying I was being a little
- 6:46Speaker 3: funny a little bit. Okay. So then Gabby fires back
- 6:50Speaker 3: on TikTok, and this is where she loses me. I mean,
- 6:54Speaker 3: I still was more team Clayton, but yes, she definitely
- 6:57Speaker 3: loses me here when she talks about how she humiliates,
- 7:01Speaker 3: she goes, that's rich of you to say that I'm
- 7:04Speaker 3: bullying because you came out and humiliated me and told
- 7:08Speaker 3: everybody on national TV that we had sex.
- 7:11Speaker 1: And I'm like, okay, but this is not the.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Same situation because you guys were all on a reality
- 7:20Speaker 3: show and you both willingly all went into fantasy suites,
- 7:24Speaker 3: and you know that a lot of the times what
- 7:26Speaker 3: happens in fantasy sweets doesn't stay in fantasy sweets, and like,
- 7:29Speaker 3: you're on a TV show, Like, yeah, lots of parts
- 7:34Speaker 3: of that relationship that you have on a TV show,
- 7:36Speaker 3: it's going to be exploited.
- 7:37Speaker 1: And this is like years ago.
- 7:40Speaker 3: So then he can't help himself and he gets on
- 7:46Speaker 3: Instagram and he's like, this is unnecessary for you to
- 7:52Speaker 3: keep bringing up. We have talked about the fact that
- 7:56Speaker 3: I'm sorry that I brought our fantasy suite intimacy up
- 8:00Speaker 3: on TV.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Also, you know, I was the lead.
- 8:03Speaker 3: You know that, like I, those are things that, like,
- 8:06Speaker 3: as the lead, is very difficult to keep secret.
- 8:09Speaker 1: We're on a TV show.
- 8:11Speaker 3: I have tried to apologize to you numbers of times,
- 8:14Speaker 3: and then he shared DMS between the two of them
- 8:16Speaker 3: in twenty twenty three where he apologized to Gabby and
- 8:21Speaker 3: by looking at the DMS, it looks as if like
- 8:23Speaker 3: she was responding to him and they were like, oh
- 8:25Speaker 3: cool too. There was some of it where she didn't respond,
- 8:28Speaker 3: but like in the midst of like all their dms,
- 8:30Speaker 3: she has like responded to him and they like seem cool.
- 8:43Speaker 2: So that's the breakdown of the situation. The back and
- 8:46Speaker 2: forth has happened. She is, you know, I think again
- 8:51Speaker 2: I'll put words in her mouth, which isn't fair. My
- 8:54Speaker 2: assumption is she knew she was not being nice when
- 8:56Speaker 2: she made those original comments. Clayton came back with defending himself,
- 9:00Speaker 2: which he had every right to do, and defending this
- 9:03Speaker 2: thing that he says helps his mental health out a lot,
- 9:05Speaker 2: which is dancing, which is great. And it feels like
- 9:10Speaker 2: he's confident enough in dancing that even with the criticisms
- 9:14Speaker 2: and the critiques, he continues to do it, which makes
- 9:16Speaker 2: me go, good for you, man, Like I love it.
- 9:19Speaker 2: If I'm not good at something, I'm never posting it
- 9:21Speaker 2: on social media. But this is obviously something you care
- 9:24Speaker 2: about and that is healthy for you, and you enjoy
- 9:27Speaker 2: showing off kind of your progress, So great, keep running
- 9:30Speaker 2: with that, honestly. The response by Gabby, I do agree
- 9:34Speaker 2: is where I got lost in the whole thing. This
- 9:38Speaker 2: was a it felt like pulling back something way back
- 9:42Speaker 2: in the future that obviously hurt her, which again they've
- 9:46Speaker 2: talked about and they seemed to be okay with. And
- 9:49Speaker 2: that's where things get weirdest for me is if you've
- 9:52Speaker 2: explained yourself, both parties has talked about it, some conclusion
- 9:56Speaker 2: has been granted, you kind of hope forgiveness is given,
- 9:59Speaker 2: and then this isn't brought up years later, and it's
- 10:02Speaker 2: also weird that and I just think this is like
- 10:06Speaker 2: always odd. The person that started this dialogue, right, Gabby
- 10:13Speaker 2: came on this podcast Clayton wasn't really talking about Gabby
- 10:15Speaker 2: at the time. Is also the one then like doubling down.
- 10:18Speaker 2: She's done, that's the best way to say. She doubled
- 10:20Speaker 2: down on this, saying no, I had every right to
- 10:22Speaker 2: do this. I meant what I said. You called me
- 10:25Speaker 2: out for having sex with you in the fantasy suite
- 10:28Speaker 2: and that is a woman's job to share publicly.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Which oh, yeah, that's right, that you said that. I
- 10:33Speaker 3: was like, wait a second, it goes both ways. It
- 10:35Speaker 3: just don't make this sense.
- 10:38Speaker 2: There, Yeah, yeah, exactly, like a stretch a little bit,
- 10:43Speaker 2: but that's kind of where we're at now. Okay. So
- 10:45Speaker 2: my question for you, Ashley is is there any more
- 10:48Speaker 2: follow up from either of them on either side about
- 10:51Speaker 2: this or is this just done now and it will
- 10:52Speaker 2: kind of fade off into nowhere's.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Laying Technically it would be Gabby's time to respond, as
- 10:59Speaker 3: Hugh did respond to her TikTok. I don't think Gabby
- 11:05Speaker 3: is gonna take it any further. So I think that,
- 11:09Speaker 3: if anything, people are trying to use this now as
- 11:12Speaker 3: a as a method to get Clinton on Dancing.
- 11:15Speaker 1: With the Stars. Okay, I mean cool, I'm seeing in
- 11:19Speaker 1: the comments on TikTok.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I mean all four it. If he loves dancing and
- 11:22Speaker 2: Dancing with the Stars is open to having him, I'd
- 11:24Speaker 2: say go for it. Man.
- 11:26Speaker 1: So I say that if this goes anywhere it takes
- 11:28Speaker 1: him to Dancing with the Stars, that's good for him.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Then he can't be met. He's going to be ecstatic.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I know exactly, which he'll have to say, thank you,
- 11:36Speaker 3: Gabby for bringing me up in public again.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Sure you your traders high?
- 11:42Speaker 2: Oh goodness gracious. Okay, So the next topic is this one, Ashley,
- 11:47Speaker 2: and it feels like We've talked about this topic so often,
- 11:50Speaker 2: and there's a there's an element here, as we talked
- 11:53Speaker 2: about kind of last week, that controversy seems to bring
- 11:57Speaker 2: conversation and controversy scene to keep some type of relevance.
- 12:01Speaker 2: It doesn't really feel like the healthiest path. It doesn't
- 12:05Speaker 2: really feel like how most want to be, you know,
- 12:09Speaker 2: what most want to be known for. But the Caitlyn
- 12:12Speaker 2: and Jason thing has lasted so much longer than Caitlin
- 12:15Speaker 2: and Shawna. I thought that thing lasted forever. There is
- 12:18Speaker 2: something about Caitlin Bristow's relationships that once they go public
- 12:22Speaker 2: and once they end. I told Jess this the other day.
- 12:25Speaker 2: It kind of reminds me of the Taylor Swift effect,
- 12:27Speaker 2: where it's like they're always kind of there, like they're
- 12:30Speaker 2: always kind of like the ghosts.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Of the past, a good analogy.
- 12:35Speaker 2: It's like you can like they never fully remove themselves
- 12:37Speaker 2: from the situation. And it feels like that way with Caitlin.
- 12:41Speaker 2: It does. And Jason and Caitlin's conversation or their relationship
- 12:46Speaker 2: was brought back up again here recently on a podcast
- 12:50Speaker 2: that Caitlyn did. It was her podcast, but she had
- 12:52Speaker 2: a guest host kind of interviewing her about a situation
- 12:56Speaker 2: that just happened. Now, Ashley, Let's be clear, we've covered
- 13:00Speaker 2: Caitlin and Jason for a long time.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Though.
- 13:03Speaker 2: There has been a lot of kind of subliminal and
- 13:07Speaker 2: quiet messaging within both of their social medias and both
- 13:11Speaker 2: of their public appearances about each other. Isn't there's a
- 13:15Speaker 2: lot of love lost. I would say there is a
- 13:18Speaker 2: lot of love lost in this relationship. There is a
- 13:21Speaker 2: lot of moments of tension and the two of them
- 13:25Speaker 2: being upset with each other and not feeling like this
- 13:29Speaker 2: relationship with something that kind of was healthy. Well, recently
- 13:34Speaker 2: Caitlyn spoke out on this podcast about kind of what
- 13:38Speaker 2: it feels like is her tipping point, the moment that
- 13:40Speaker 2: she really is fired up over Ashley? What is it?
- 13:46Speaker 2: And then we'll talk about if it's a big deal
- 13:48Speaker 2: or not.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Oh, to me, it's a big deal, all right.
- 13:51Speaker 3: So on the first day they ever met, Caitlyn and
- 13:55Speaker 3: Jason talked about children names, talked about what she has
- 14:01Speaker 3: planned to name her child for a long time, and
- 14:04Speaker 3: she told him it was Teddy. And I'm assuming this
- 14:06Speaker 3: is a conversation that was brought up multiple times leading
- 14:09Speaker 3: up to their engagement, as at some point they were
- 14:12Speaker 3: planning on having children together. But she has the receipts
- 14:15Speaker 3: that on day one she told him Theodore, but it
- 14:22Speaker 3: would never be named Theodore. It would be named Teddy.
- 14:26Speaker 3: It would always go by Teddy. And then he gets
- 14:29Speaker 3: this dog, asks Instagram what he should name the dog.
- 14:34Speaker 1: There are a.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Couple suggestions as to Teddy, I think, and then he
- 14:38Speaker 3: announces a couple of days later that he ends up
- 14:41Speaker 3: naming the dog Teddy. This is to me, huge deal,
- 14:45Speaker 3: total no, No, this would cross This would get me
- 14:49Speaker 3: over the edge in which I would just have to
- 14:51Speaker 3: have a vinsaese publicly about this, because it was a
- 14:54Speaker 3: public relationship and I personally could not let him get
- 14:58Speaker 3: away with this. And you and I are totally different
- 15:01Speaker 3: when it comes to this stuff, that's all. You and
- 15:03Speaker 3: I are totally different. You're stronger willed person. I could
- 15:07Speaker 3: just tell by your facial expression that you're like, no,
- 15:09Speaker 3: this is something that you can just keep to yourself
- 15:12Speaker 3: and be the bigger person. And I'm like, absolutely no, that.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Is not at all what I think You're really No.
- 15:19Speaker 2: I think this is really sad, but I think it's
- 15:22Speaker 2: really sad I think it is.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Uh No, I don't this.
- 15:26Speaker 2: You are.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Absolutely no idea where you're gonna go.
- 15:32Speaker 3: All I know is that you normally think that Caitlyn
- 15:35Speaker 3: and I should be more private.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Yeah. I still I still hold onto that I don't care.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I don't back down on the fact that I think
- 15:44Speaker 2: there's like room for privacy here. Yeah. And maybe the
- 15:47Speaker 2: question of do I think this is a big deal, yes,
- 15:50Speaker 2: it is a public relationship. I do feel like at
- 15:52Speaker 2: this point Caitlyn was at her breaking point. And I
- 15:55Speaker 2: don't know that. My only advice to Kaitlyn as a
- 15:57Speaker 2: friend or in general would be, I don't know if
- 16:00Speaker 2: you ever speak out publicly when you feel like you're
- 16:02Speaker 2: at your breaking point, because I think what it ends
- 16:04Speaker 2: up doing is it it communicates a lot of like
- 16:08Speaker 2: drama and a lot of anger that maybe you're just
- 16:12Speaker 2: feeling in the moment. Like I don't know how this
- 16:14Speaker 2: played out, but I imagine at playing out like this.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Caitlyn sees that Jason names the dog Teddy, she calls
- 16:20Speaker 2: up her friends. She's like, you got to get over
- 16:21Speaker 2: here and interview me because I am mad and I'm
- 16:24Speaker 2: not going to talk about myself, and so to answer
- 16:28Speaker 2: your question, I do, though, feel like it's a big deal.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I do feel like it is. It showed a lack
- 16:35Speaker 2: of respect, It showed a lack of care for somebody
- 16:41Speaker 2: that you're obviously not like fans of right now, but you,
- 16:44Speaker 2: at one point in your life had a lot of
- 16:46Speaker 2: love for. And if this was an obvious conversation the
- 16:49Speaker 2: two of them had about this baby name and how
- 16:52Speaker 2: Caitlyn has always dreamed of naming her child this name,
- 16:56Speaker 2: and then you name your dog that name, and I
- 16:58Speaker 2: know that Instagram would asked, and I know people recommended Teddy.
- 17:03Speaker 2: There are ways to set that up for people to
- 17:05Speaker 2: send in messages like you should name it Teddy. Uh,
- 17:08Speaker 2: I don't. I'm not like playing, I'm not agreeing with
- 17:12Speaker 2: that and saying, oh, this is just a random, like
- 17:14Speaker 2: voted on name. I think this was definitely shots fired.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Do I think it needed to be handled from Caitlin
- 17:23Speaker 2: in the way that it did. I don't know. It's
- 17:25Speaker 2: up to her, but I definitely can see where she
- 17:27Speaker 2: would be upset and sad. My word for this would
- 17:29Speaker 2: be sad. This this if I was Kitlyn, and I'd
- 17:32Speaker 2: just be sad that this name has seemed to be
- 17:34Speaker 2: taken away from me, like that's so sad.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Point if somebody had named if my act named their
- 17:40Speaker 3: dog Dawson, after I had it planned for fifteen years.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I would bust. I would be so angry.
- 17:48Speaker 3: And to me, it would feel like to me, okay,
- 17:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna be freaking honest right now, I maybe call
- 17:54Speaker 3: me like, you know, maybe people are just going to
- 17:56Speaker 3: see like my friendship with Caitlyn like obvious here, but
- 17:59Speaker 3: guess what, I don't care. This to me felt like
- 18:02Speaker 3: an intentional move to him, like an intentional move to see, like,
- 18:07Speaker 3: let's see if I can annoy her so bad that
- 18:12Speaker 3: and then she has to make this decision whether or
- 18:15Speaker 3: not to explode at me publicly or keep it in.
- 18:18Speaker 3: And either way I'm winning because I'm dominating space in
- 18:22Speaker 3: her mind. And if she does explode publicly, then people
- 18:25Speaker 3: are gonna there's gonna be fifty percent of the people
- 18:28Speaker 3: on my side.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Yeah, that'd be really, that'd be a really. I mean,
- 18:33Speaker 2: I think I know how like how friends work, and
- 18:37Speaker 2: I think that's You've been a great friend, so I
- 18:39Speaker 2: like and a bit in a protector of your friendship,
- 18:41Speaker 2: which is awesome. I can't say that I think that's
- 18:46Speaker 2: how this went down, other than I will say if
- 18:50Speaker 2: it is what went down, and Jason does see the
- 18:53Speaker 2: headlines and he already listens to the podcast, like that
- 18:55Speaker 2: is a place that you need to check yourself, Like
- 18:58Speaker 2: you need to figure out where your intentions are and
- 19:00Speaker 2: what you're trying to actually do and how you're trying
- 19:03Speaker 2: to create space on the airwaves and in somebody else's head.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Because it is sad no matter what if this was intentional,
- 19:11Speaker 2: if it was a forgotten about thing by Jason and
- 19:13Speaker 2: he forgot they had this conversation or what. It is
- 19:17Speaker 2: really sad that Caitlin told him this and now this
- 19:23Speaker 2: has been taken from her outside of everything else. I
- 19:26Speaker 2: know that people had a negative reaction to her interview.
- 19:29Speaker 2: She had to come out publicly. We're going to talk
- 19:31Speaker 2: about her public apology in just a second. I get
- 19:33Speaker 2: that they did, and I know that they feel like
- 19:35Speaker 2: she's making a situation, a small situation, a big one,
- 19:41Speaker 2: and really creating this drama. But we have to understand
- 19:45Speaker 2: that it is sad no matter what if it was
- 19:47Speaker 2: intentional or not. This name is no longer going to
- 19:50Speaker 2: be able to be used by her, and like that
- 19:52Speaker 2: just hurts a little bit, no matter who you are.
- 20:05Speaker 3: The most innocent way we could think about this is
- 20:07Speaker 3: that he did somehow forget that this was going to
- 20:11Speaker 3: be her name. And I just don't believe that, because
- 20:14Speaker 3: I don't believe that you can be engaged to someone
- 20:16Speaker 3: and then not remember what you were planning on naming
- 20:18Speaker 3: your kids.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, if this was intentional, I would just say, like,
- 20:23Speaker 2: that's a really tough place to be in in life
- 20:25Speaker 2: when you're making these type of decisions that will hurt
- 20:29Speaker 2: others intentionally, and I just cannot put that on somebody
- 20:32Speaker 2: without knowing that to be the case.
- 20:34Speaker 3: So like, I'm sorry, Like this is my apology to
- 20:38Speaker 3: Jason if I am wrong, But I just find it's
- 20:41Speaker 3: hard to believe that you wouldn't remember what she was
- 20:43Speaker 3: going to name the dog.
- 20:45Speaker 1: And now I understand that.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Caitlin went off further in this podcast episode about Jason,
- 20:51Speaker 3: and she said, like a lot she should have ended
- 20:54Speaker 3: the relationship earlier because a lot of what they were
- 20:57Speaker 3: doing together just felt like business, like social media. They
- 21:01Speaker 3: were staying together for social media for way too long,
- 21:02Speaker 3: and she said that felt gross. Nicky, I think that's
- 21:06Speaker 3: kind of where people have the problem is that she's
- 21:08Speaker 3: like continuing to air out issues about their hurt their relationship,
- 21:12Speaker 3: and then she wasn't just focused on this dog name thing.
- 21:16Speaker 3: But I understand how feelings and emotions work, especially when
- 21:19Speaker 3: you're in a public relationship and people aren't seeing your
- 21:23Speaker 3: side because like sometimes it feels like the other person's
- 21:26Speaker 3: playing the game better or people are more tracted to
- 21:30Speaker 3: the way that they play the game.
- 21:32Speaker 1: So I understand the frustration, and it boiled up.
- 21:35Speaker 2: It boiled up. It boiled up for sure. And as
- 21:37Speaker 2: I've said publicly before, don't mess with Kaylen Bristow. No
- 21:39Speaker 2: matter what here is happening, I don't mess with her
- 21:43Speaker 2: because once you unleash her, she will she will make
- 21:48Speaker 2: sure the public knows how she's feeling and what she's thinking.
- 21:52Speaker 2: And that's why people love her too, It's why people
- 21:54Speaker 2: follow her show. However, this situation in this podcast interview
- 22:00Speaker 2: did it feel like hit a nerve with Caitlin because
- 22:04Speaker 2: she did come out on her off the Vine podcast
- 22:08Speaker 2: up kind of group and make an apology. I'll read
- 22:12Speaker 2: this apology and Ashley will get your reactions. She says,
- 22:14Speaker 2: I'm coming to my audience who means the most to me.
- 22:17Speaker 2: I take accountability for wanting to hold someone back from podcasting.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I knew deep down this was a me problem, and
- 22:24Speaker 2: I also knew it would start a crossover that would
- 22:27Speaker 2: be hard in a relationship. What I thought would happen
- 22:30Speaker 2: did I clearly didn't leave when he did it. Anyways,
- 22:35Speaker 2: I did more therapy around it and was just it
- 22:39Speaker 2: was just a boundary I made clear that was crossed,
- 22:42Speaker 2: and I tried to work through it. But there was
- 22:44Speaker 2: so much more than just that. Again, I see how
- 22:50Speaker 2: it can seem unfair. Yes, Teddy is a common dog name.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Yes he can name his dog whatever he wants. And
- 22:56Speaker 2: it's eft up that he knew it was my dream
- 22:59Speaker 2: baby Now, we talked about it.
- 23:01Speaker 1: For years, talked about it for years.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Yes, I have major things to work on in relationships,
- 23:07Speaker 2: and I've already done so much work. I've seen tremendous
- 23:11Speaker 2: growth in myself. I'm so proud of who I am today.
- 23:14Speaker 2: My timeline of processing and being who I am doesn't
- 23:17Speaker 2: have to look like anyone else's standard for a timeline.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I see all the love and I want to give
- 23:23Speaker 2: it all back. I see all the hate and I
- 23:26Speaker 2: want to give them love too. No one like that
- 23:30Speaker 2: will ever understand and that's okay. I don't understand them either.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Navigating a world where sharing your story is risky, freeing,
- 23:40Speaker 2: and extremely hard, but I encourage everyone to think about it,
- 23:45Speaker 2: and yes, do not wish ill on anyone. I'm choosing
- 23:50Speaker 2: now to let them, and I'm glad I gave some context.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I don't like that I'm still talking about it, but
- 23:57Speaker 2: it felt good to stand up for myself. Of course,
- 24:00Speaker 2: have moved on, and it doesn't mean I can't speak
- 24:03Speaker 2: my truth. Do I have anxiety around a calculator response?
- 24:06Speaker 2: I do. Do I think that he subtly shades me
- 24:10Speaker 2: a lot? Yes, but I'm choosing light and prayer moving
- 24:14Speaker 2: forward for everyone.
- 24:15Speaker 1: I love this Off.
- 24:16Speaker 2: The Vine family so much. Thank you Upward, nonward high vibes,
- 24:21Speaker 2: wah Ashley, and closing here, this was her apology, kind
- 24:27Speaker 2: of reinstating some things that she felt strongly about, but
- 24:31Speaker 2: also admitting some things that maybe she overreacted to.
- 24:35Speaker 1: What's your take?
- 24:36Speaker 3: Okay, Well, I want to clarify the first paragraph of
- 24:38Speaker 3: her apology. She says she wants to take accountability for
- 24:42Speaker 3: holding somebody back from podcasting, So basically, she said really
- 24:46Speaker 3: early on Jason, I don't want you doing podcasts because
- 24:50Speaker 3: the podcasting is my thing, and she didn't want them
- 24:55Speaker 3: to be competing and podcasting. And again it was just
- 24:58Speaker 3: like kind of like a let's we're intermingling our romantic
- 25:02Speaker 3: relationship with a business relationship too much. So she's apologizing
- 25:05Speaker 3: for that, and I, you know, good, I would see
- 25:09Speaker 3: how people would have an issue with that.
- 25:12Speaker 1: The teddy thing.
- 25:13Speaker 3: I'm not gonna I still stand by what I said earlier.
- 25:17Speaker 3: And then the rest of her apology, I think like
- 25:21Speaker 3: if her audience really had a problem with her talking
- 25:24Speaker 3: about Jason in this way, I think they also need
- 25:27Speaker 3: to think about what she's told us on this podcast before,
- 25:30Speaker 3: and that is that, like our is public, and sometimes
- 25:37Speaker 3: when the stuff that relates back to us gets like
- 25:40Speaker 3: brought up again in the mainstream, like you know, Jason's
- 25:45Speaker 3: dog name, or like when we see it on social media,
- 25:48Speaker 3: like we have to kind of comment about it, because
- 25:50Speaker 3: it'd be weird if we have this platform in which
- 25:52Speaker 3: we like have our job is to speak and to
- 25:56Speaker 3: speak about you know, bachelor related things a lot of
- 25:59Speaker 3: the times, and then we just don't speak about that.
- 26:01Speaker 3: So you and I end up talking about x'es on
- 26:04Speaker 3: this podcast in a way that normal people wouldn't talk
- 26:08Speaker 3: about their exes. Still, like, it makes sense for us
- 26:11Speaker 3: to talk about people who we dated because we dated
- 26:13Speaker 3: it on TV in front of our audience, which is
- 26:16Speaker 3: why she brings.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Him up so much.
- 26:19Speaker 3: She wouldn't bring them up if it was just like
- 26:22Speaker 3: this guy that she dated in her early twenties.
- 26:26Speaker 2: I agree. No, I don't really have a problem with
- 26:28Speaker 2: people talking about past relationships and clarifying, especially when it
- 26:32Speaker 2: feels like you need to do it to protect yourself.
- 26:36Speaker 2: And that goes both sides, right, that goes from that
- 26:38Speaker 2: goes on both sides. I understand that. I think there's
- 26:41Speaker 2: a respect level there. I think there is a level
- 26:46Speaker 2: of trust still. You know, you shared life with me,
- 26:49Speaker 2: you know a lot about me, so please don't air
- 26:52Speaker 2: things that could hurt me. And I think in this situation, particularly,
- 26:55Speaker 2: Caitlin said a lot of things podcast ask jobs all
- 27:01Speaker 2: those things, and I think the big key moment is
- 27:04Speaker 2: she felt disrespected by the dog name because it felt
- 27:08Speaker 2: like it was an intentional move. I think she thinks
- 27:10Speaker 2: it was an intentional move. Yeah, I can't confidently say
- 27:14Speaker 2: it because I don't know his intentions behind it. I
- 27:17Speaker 2: know friends will say, hey, this was definitely an intentional
- 27:20Speaker 2: move because they're protecting Caitlin here, But either way, I
- 27:25Speaker 2: get how she's upset. I also am glad that she
- 27:29Speaker 2: is coming out and saying, hey, I'm working on myself
- 27:31Speaker 2: through all this too, because I don't think she's completely
- 27:34Speaker 2: in the wrong to voice her concerns. But I just
- 27:40Speaker 2: don't know how beneficial it is to let discontinue for
- 27:42Speaker 2: too much longer, because it feels like it just keeps
- 27:45Speaker 2: them in the public tied together, and it makes it
- 27:47Speaker 2: almost incapable of them moving forward with somebody else and
- 27:52Speaker 2: of like romantic, serious, committed relationship when your name is
- 27:56Speaker 2: so closely tied to somebody else so often.
- 27:59Speaker 1: I need to know whether Jason has said on Instagram yet.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Oh whoops, I totally forgot.
- 28:06Speaker 3: I didn't know that at all, because I don't think
- 28:08Speaker 3: he has said that.
- 28:10Speaker 2: That's probably a conversation for next week. Well, Hey, those
- 28:13Speaker 2: are the two big topics.
- 28:14Speaker 3: This fan's like, let's move on, let's have them stop
- 28:17Speaker 3: talking about each other.
- 28:18Speaker 1: And I'm like, okay, but has he denied this.
- 28:23Speaker 2: We'll keep breaking this stuff down next week. We're going
- 28:25Speaker 2: to continue to get to the bottom of you here
- 28:26Speaker 2: at the Almost Famous Podcast, because that's what we do.
- 28:29Speaker 2: We talk about other people just like they talk about themselves.
