Thirty-five years after Idaho’s sockeye salmon nearly vanished, the endangered fish are making a strong return — with more than a thousand already on their 900-mile journey back to the Sawtooth Basin. Idaho is changing the way it handles Social Security benefits for foster youth — a shift that could help thousands of kids leave care with real savings and a stronger start in adulthood.
