- 0:50Speaker 1: coming out right now. We're gonna get to this here
- 0:51Speaker 1: in a bit, but we're gonna take a deep dive
- 0:53Speaker 1: in with the crack and look like here ten twenty
- 0:55Speaker 1: Ever Fitzhu's joining us, plus more to come. I can't
- 0:59Speaker 1: wait to share this. Also special guests with you in
- 1:02Speaker 1: a few minutes. By the way, the Sounders face off
- 1:05Speaker 1: against Portland tonight at seven thirty pregame and seven FIFA
- 1:10Speaker 1: felts or is it back to furious felts Now?
- 1:12Speaker 2: I think he's FIFA.
- 1:13Speaker 1: He's FIFA felt still.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah, well he's also Sounders felts.
- 1:16Speaker 1: We're gonna go with FIFA felts right now.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I like it. I think he's not very furious.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Do we still have the talkback that we can play
- 1:24Speaker 1: for him later to kind of introduce this I'm gonna
- 1:27Speaker 1: have to find I was dying when I heard that. Anyway,
- 1:29Speaker 1: Jet Jackson's got pregame. By the way, seven o'clock again
- 1:33Speaker 1: Sounders against Portland at seven thirty Maritors mid season break.
- 1:36Speaker 1: They're back tomorrow against the San Francisco Giants. We're gonna
- 1:41Speaker 1: dive into them as well. What do you want to
- 1:43Speaker 1: see them do? Plus also much more to learn about
- 1:45Speaker 1: the Seahawks and their ownership. Without further ado, let's start
- 1:50Speaker 1: the show. Greg is zot for today, Greg is off
- 1:52Speaker 1: for tomorrow. I'm in with Jess. Great to have you
- 1:55Speaker 1: once again. Four nine four five one ta coma Dodge
- 1:58Speaker 1: text line. We will get to your talkbacks because we're
- 2:01Speaker 1: kind of in the whole recess period of this whole
- 2:03Speaker 1: Seattle sports landscape. In this schedule, there's no Mariners until tomorrow.
- 2:08Speaker 1: The Seahawks are about roughly a week and a half
- 2:11Speaker 1: away from training camp. The Kraken are also deep into
- 2:15Speaker 1: slumber except for today, because the NHL schedule is out,
- 2:19Speaker 1: and I mean out literally any second right now. We
- 2:23Speaker 1: do know that the home opener will be October fourth
- 2:26Speaker 1: against the Calgary Flames. The NHL has just actually announced
- 2:31Speaker 1: the twenty twenty six and twenty seven regular season schedule.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Eighty four games on this thing. No longer eighty two,
- 2:39Speaker 1: it will be eighty four. This cutchback on the preseason schedule.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Less time for players to go through excessive repetitive reps,
- 2:48Speaker 1: potential to get hurt, and you also get more prime matchups.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Plus also the crackuner're going to go to Finland to
- 2:54Speaker 1: play the defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes coming up
- 3:00Speaker 1: in November. That is going to be a blast. Ever,
- 3:03Speaker 1: if it's he's going to be here to talk about
- 3:05Speaker 1: this at about ten twenty. Also, Bobby McMahon, the one
- 3:10Speaker 1: and only Bobby McMahon sign seal delivered. He's joining us
- 3:15Speaker 1: as well, coming up at a little past eleven. Plus
- 3:18Speaker 1: again your talkbacks, you're text four nine four or five
- 3:20Speaker 1: one Tacoma Dodge text line. Also at the talk back side,
- 3:25Speaker 1: I kind of wanted to roll in with this here, Jess,
- 3:27Speaker 1: you actually encouraged me to do this, and I was
- 3:30Speaker 1: about you did? You did, and I was so happy.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I didn't want to take it.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I was kind I was kind of on the fence
- 3:37Speaker 1: of wearing this here, and I said, why the heck not.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Of course, it's not often that I can show up
- 3:42Speaker 1: in a baseball or a softball jersey.
- 3:44Speaker 3: I mean, but it's an All Star jersey. But if
- 3:47Speaker 3: you you you have to do it.
- 3:48Speaker 1: But I mean, if you get the chance, if you
- 3:51Speaker 1: get the call to play in the Seattle All Star
- 3:55Speaker 1: Celebrity Softball Challenge, like what happened this last weekend at
- 3:59Speaker 1: Cheney State, you darn best answer that call.
- 4:04Speaker 2: And you did back the phone.
- 4:07Speaker 1: And there there is only one reason why I would
- 4:09Speaker 1: do this here is because if you compare me to
- 4:14Speaker 1: my kids at age eleven and age eighty, they they
- 4:18Speaker 1: they play multiple sports. They're also baseball kids. I had
- 4:23Speaker 1: maybe one one hundredth of the skill level they had.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I kind of realized by about age eleven or age twelve,
- 4:30Speaker 1: the big leagues aren't going to happen. So getting that
- 4:34Speaker 1: call really that early, that exactly that early. My season
- 4:39Speaker 1: high for hits in Little League one year was three
- 4:43Speaker 1: three for for for you YouTubers.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, that's a good realization then.
- 4:46Speaker 1: So by the time I was about twelve, my my
- 4:51Speaker 1: father and I had a good conversation where it was,
- 4:55Speaker 1: if you wanted to keep doing baseball, great, I'll support you.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I love you. I was also getting into golf. By
- 5:02Speaker 1: the way, if you want to play competitive golf, great,
- 5:05Speaker 1: I'll support you. I love you. But I'm only paying
- 5:08Speaker 1: for one or the other. I'm not paying for multiple.
- 5:13Speaker 1: And this is also before the land of select baseball,
- 5:16Speaker 1: which is just rampant now in this country, not just
- 5:19Speaker 1: for baseball, but for basketball, for hockey, lacrosse, soccer as well. Yes,
- 5:26Speaker 1: so I mean we're just talking about just little league,
- 5:29Speaker 1: reg league, house league stuff. But then the golf bug
- 5:33Speaker 1: was buying me big time. I said, I kind of
- 5:35Speaker 1: realized where my ceiling was. I was like, let's go
- 5:38Speaker 1: with golf the rest of history. So when you get
- 5:40Speaker 1: a chance to do this. Walking into Cheney Stadium, I
- 5:44Speaker 1: had never felt closer to being a big league player
- 5:48Speaker 1: than I did that day. So it just an incredible
- 5:51Speaker 1: shout out to all those involved. To my man J C.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Rashid Shaheed also who was our team captain, Uchennanoosu also
- 5:59Speaker 1: who was a coh MO year of this event, Terry
- 6:01Speaker 1: Hallman who was phenomenal on the mic and he's really
- 6:05Speaker 1: good MVP Kylie Studio, Soo Sotball legend of this area.
- 6:09Speaker 1: She also does great work at a teaching out to
- 6:12Speaker 1: a local facility up in Lynnwood. Casey Sadler, also former Mariner,
- 6:17Speaker 1: hit the walk off home run for us between team
- 6:21Speaker 1: We did not care. The jersey right here says it all.
- 6:26Speaker 1: And I got a little bit of gears to give
- 6:28Speaker 1: to Everett Fitzu who was on Team dark Side from
- 6:31Speaker 1: the dark Side Defense, and we made sure we made
- 6:34Speaker 1: a big old video and a big deal out of
- 6:35Speaker 1: this year. So I got some surprises. I Instagram, by
- 6:40Speaker 1: the way, first off is a good place to go.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I think I may have the video kind of gloating
- 6:44Speaker 1: a little bit here, but I got I claimed bragging
- 6:47Speaker 1: rights for a full year after we won this thing,
- 6:53Speaker 1: So I got bragging rights. Now fitz is still kind
- 6:55Speaker 1: of feeling it and we're going to get to him
- 6:58Speaker 1: at about ten twenty.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I feel like I want to play the natural themes.
- 7:04Speaker 1: You have time or should we just come back and
- 7:07Speaker 1: bring him in with this?
- 7:08Speaker 3: No, I think that you keep going and give me
- 7:11Speaker 3: one second.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I think we should. I think we should. So the
- 7:14Speaker 1: NHL schedules out, by the way, we're gonna get ever
- 7:16Speaker 1: it fits you wanted about ten twenty, It's gonna be
- 7:18Speaker 1: eighty four games and the earliest at the NHL has
- 7:21Speaker 1: ever started. It's gonna actually go into September. National Hockey
- 7:25Speaker 1: League season opens up September twenty night. That will be
- 7:29Speaker 1: a triple header night. If you're a Kracking fan, you're
- 7:32Speaker 1: watching your listening locally, you got to wait a couple
- 7:35Speaker 1: of days here for the season two get underway with that.
- 7:38Speaker 1: But it will be October one for the Kraken where
- 7:41Speaker 1: they will start their regular season schedule against the Calgary Flames.
- 7:46Speaker 1: That's going to be pretty cool because that will be
- 7:49Speaker 1: the last ever game for the Kraken or any team
- 7:53Speaker 1: to play opening night at the Saddle Dome. After that,
- 7:56Speaker 1: the Calgary Flames will be moving into a brand new building.
- 8:02Speaker 1: It's coming, it's coming. It went away, It's coming.
- 8:06Speaker 2: No, I was, I was teasing.
- 8:08Speaker 1: You, so the like I got one app bat, by
- 8:11Speaker 1: the way in that softball game, one app bat because
- 8:14Speaker 1: there's a lot of like twenty two players here.
- 8:16Speaker 2: And then what happened?
- 8:17Speaker 1: So for you YouTubers, I grab a bat. Where are
- 8:24Speaker 1: my son's batting gloves? Also?
- 8:26Speaker 2: Well they fit you? Oh benon fifty five? Does that
- 8:31Speaker 2: number mean something to you?
- 8:33Speaker 1: Out goes my head's set here. I'm just trying to
- 8:36Speaker 1: lean into this way way, way, way way too much.
- 8:38Speaker 4: You know what.
- 8:39Speaker 2: We love a performance from Mike Benten.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Uh anyway, my goodness, this is beautiful YouTube. And after
- 8:47Speaker 1: about two pitches I immediately grinded out too shortstop and
- 8:50Speaker 1: ever it fits. He was waiting at it for a
- 8:51Speaker 1: space for the putout as well. It was ever, but
- 8:55Speaker 1: we had we we we had a good fist bump
- 8:57Speaker 1: back with.
- 8:57Speaker 2: That, so Fitz bump yes.
- 9:01Speaker 1: By the way, shout out to Everett. He had one
- 9:03Speaker 1: at bat as well, bases loaded, jam we were in.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Fitch put the ball in play and reached I believe
- 9:09Speaker 1: on a ET six or a E five. So he
- 9:11Speaker 1: did his job as well. But we had a blast.
- 9:13Speaker 1: We were chirping back back and forth between the dugouts.
- 9:16Speaker 2: And whatnot that only happens when your friends.
- 9:18Speaker 1: But it was just a fantastic event. I mean, we
- 9:22Speaker 1: mentioned Kylie, we mentioned Casey Sadler. Kylie also won the
- 9:27Speaker 1: home run derby was MVP of the event. Denzel Boston
- 9:31Speaker 1: also showing up for a Team We Did Not Care,
- 9:33Speaker 1: had a great chance to talk with the Miles Gaskin
- 9:35Speaker 1: Bender also who was in the building with one of
- 9:39Speaker 1: our local stations also suiting up for Team we did
- 9:42Speaker 1: Not Care. So great times as well this last weekend
- 9:46Speaker 1: over at Cheney Stadium. This goes on each and every
- 9:49Speaker 1: year and a great event for a great cause for
- 9:52Speaker 1: local communities as well. Ten twenty again. Ever it fits
- 9:55Speaker 1: you coming up. The Kraken schedule is out, the NHL
- 9:58Speaker 1: schedule is out as well, eighty four games, and we
- 10:01Speaker 1: got a lot to make out of this here. But
- 10:03Speaker 1: also what you're gonna find out, at least from right now,
- 10:07Speaker 1: October is going to potentially show up. This team will
- 10:10Speaker 1: be made of because of the schedule that they have
- 10:14Speaker 1: and there's going to be a lot of travel involved.
- 10:18Speaker 1: But we're gonna jump into this a bit. Ever it
- 10:20Speaker 1: fits you right around the corner, Mike Bent and Jessmon
- 10:23Speaker 1: in here for Greg Bill ninety three three kJ RFM
- 10:44Speaker 1: cracket schedules out eighty four games. Last time the league
- 10:47Speaker 1: went FIFTEEP was Z three oh four and it's gonna
- 10:50Speaker 1: open up October first at Calgary, last ever home opener
- 10:54Speaker 1: at the old scot Chamang Saddle Dome. It's one of
- 10:57Speaker 1: the oldest buildings, by the way, in the NHL, and
- 11:00Speaker 1: up there with Madison Square Garden. And also, by the way,
- 11:02Speaker 1: did you know this climbing Pledge Arena? Yet, technically it
- 11:05Speaker 1: does count as one of the older ones because the
- 11:07Speaker 1: roof is a part of that. But we have a
- 11:09Speaker 1: lot to get to the Crack in two games on
- 11:12Speaker 1: European soil for the Global Series, and a whole lot
- 11:15Speaker 1: of road games to get going in this as I
- 11:18Speaker 1: welcome my fellow softball partner pal friend Dynamo on the
- 11:25Speaker 1: Beacon Plumbing Hotline, the one and only Crack and radio
- 11:28Speaker 1: play by play man Everett Fits you Fits. I'm not
- 11:32Speaker 1: too sure if you can see this here via the YouTubers,
- 11:35Speaker 1: but what was the final score of our game last weekend?
- 11:39Speaker 4: It doesn't matter what the score was, Mike. What matters
- 11:41Speaker 4: is yet what matters is your team had people batting
- 11:45Speaker 4: out of order. You had a couple of professional softball
- 11:49Speaker 4: players batting out of order. Yes, Casey Sadler hit the
- 11:53Speaker 4: walk off, but did you tell them that Casey Sadler
- 11:55Speaker 4: also batted like five people earlier in a twenty three
- 11:59Speaker 4: per roster. So all I'm saying I.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Called loopholes though loopholes.
- 12:05Speaker 4: All all I'm saying is well, technically the final score
- 12:09Speaker 4: was in your team's favor. Clearly y'all did care enough
- 12:14Speaker 4: to bat out of order and bring up your ringers
- 12:17Speaker 4: when it mattered the most.
- 12:18Speaker 1: For those of you watching on YouTube, by the way,
- 12:21Speaker 1: like the old meme says, deal with it, we did
- 12:28Speaker 1: not care. I might keep these glasses on for the
- 12:31Speaker 1: entire interview.
- 12:32Speaker 3: You know what's amazing, We have lightning strikes outside this building,
- 12:35Speaker 3: and as soon as he put on those amazing sunglasses.
- 12:39Speaker 1: That couldn't have been any better, any better.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I wish you were here in person.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, Fits. It was great playing your buddy.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Great catching up from this last weekend. But yeah, let's
- 12:52Speaker 1: get to hear to this schedule. First, office schedules out
- 12:55Speaker 1: to eighty four games. What's the most eye catching thing
- 12:58Speaker 1: for you at the top of this, well.
- 13:01Speaker 4: I think obviously it's it's the trip to Finland, you know,
- 13:03Speaker 4: the cracking going overseas for the very first time, and
- 13:07Speaker 4: a number of teams have done this trip and it
- 13:10Speaker 4: sometimes has played out in their favor. You get an
- 13:13Speaker 4: early season team bonding trip, you get to go on
- 13:16Speaker 4: a global stage. The NHL brings the same pomp and
- 13:20Speaker 4: circumstance for these Global Series games as they do for
- 13:24Speaker 4: any of their other marquee events that win a Classic,
- 13:27Speaker 4: All Star Games, things like that, So I'm looking forward
- 13:30Speaker 4: to that. I'm also looking forward to an early season
- 13:34Speaker 4: slew of road games. I think back and say six
- 13:36Speaker 4: of their first eight on the road, not seven of
- 13:40Speaker 4: their first nine, something like that on the road. So
- 13:43Speaker 4: once again you're going to have that opportunity to really bond,
- 13:46Speaker 4: to get to know your teammates better. And a lot
- 13:48Speaker 4: of players will tell you you like having those early
- 13:51Speaker 4: season road trips as an opportunity to kind of put
- 13:55Speaker 4: all those distractions behind them and just focus on high
- 14:00Speaker 4: And you'll see a team sometimes when they have these
- 14:03Speaker 4: massive road trips to start, they come back, you know
- 14:07Speaker 4: with a seven and four record or an eight and
- 14:10Speaker 4: three record, or something like that through their first month,
- 14:14Speaker 4: and that really sets them up for success minimally at
- 14:17Speaker 4: least until the Christmas break, which a lot of folks
- 14:19Speaker 4: know that sometimes can be that determining factor of if
- 14:23Speaker 4: you make playoffs or not. But I like this schedule.
- 14:26Speaker 4: You're playing every team in your division now four times,
- 14:29Speaker 4: so you don't have that odd algorithm. The cracket. Have
- 14:34Speaker 4: got some longer breaks off this season, the week off
- 14:37Speaker 4: for Christmas, you've got the week off in February. Of course,
- 14:40Speaker 4: you've got some days off on either side of your
- 14:43Speaker 4: Finland trips. So there's gonna be some opportunity for this
- 14:45Speaker 4: cracking team to not get overwhelmed and overtired, maybe like
- 14:51Speaker 4: we saw last season.
- 14:52Speaker 1: When you mentioned the first seven to nine games here
- 14:54Speaker 1: on the road. Again, Ever, IF's you're joining us in
- 14:55Speaker 1: the Beacon Plumbing hotline, there's Calgary, Edmonton, Detroit, that trip
- 15:00Speaker 1: by the way, Washington, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay and Florida, and
- 15:05Speaker 1: all of a sudden boom, you come back home facing
- 15:07Speaker 1: the Red Wings and you hope that you're in good shape.
- 15:09Speaker 1: So how big is the start of the season.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Fits, I think it's big. It's really really massive, And
- 15:17Speaker 4: I again I like it from a competition standpoint where
- 15:22Speaker 4: you're going to be tested early against teams that you're
- 15:26Speaker 4: going to have to beat in the playoffs. The caliber
- 15:29Speaker 4: of team that you're going to see in April, in March,
- 15:33Speaker 4: going down the stretch, run hopefully well into April and
- 15:37Speaker 4: even into May and the playoffs. You need to beat
- 15:40Speaker 4: these teams. You know you have an opportunity early in
- 15:42Speaker 4: the first month of the season. You've got a game,
- 15:45Speaker 4: a couple of games with Edmonton, got two games in
- 15:47Speaker 4: there with Calgary. You've got a long East Coast Eastern
- 15:52Speaker 4: Conference road trip. While might not mean much in the
- 15:56Speaker 4: standings in terms of your playoff seating, you want to
- 15:59Speaker 4: find way to get wins in Florida, in Tampa, in
- 16:03Speaker 4: Detroit you know they're going off of a general manager change.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Now you've got the Red Wings two times in two weeks.
- 16:09Speaker 4: That's a team like Seattle Hungary to get back to
- 16:12Speaker 4: the playoffs. That's the caliber of team that you're going
- 16:16Speaker 4: to have to be better than if you want to
- 16:18Speaker 4: get into the postseason. So I like it. It's challenging,
- 16:23Speaker 4: it comes heavy. You know you've got games every other day.
- 16:26Speaker 4: It's a compact month of October and like I said,
- 16:31Speaker 4: you know, you've got just not looking at the schedule
- 16:33Speaker 4: in front of me now, but you've got what fourteen
- 16:35Speaker 4: games in that first month of the season than another
- 16:38Speaker 4: couple So let's say you've got eighteen games going into Finland.
- 16:42Speaker 4: If you could find a way to be over five
- 16:46Speaker 4: hundred in those first sixteen, eighteen to twenty games going
- 16:50Speaker 4: into Finland, you're setting yourself up for some success down
- 16:53Speaker 4: the rest of the way.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Part of this roster is tied to the intrigue of
- 16:57Speaker 1: opening nine and even I would say, going to the
- 16:59Speaker 1: Global Series when the crack and face the Hurricanes in November.
- 17:03Speaker 1: And so far they've got Bobby Bobby McMahon back on board,
- 17:07Speaker 1: They've got Mackie Samuskevitch as well. They have said goodbye
- 17:10Speaker 1: to Jamie Alexi Act, to Jayden Schwartz. They're out the door.
- 17:13Speaker 1: We don't know yet what's going on with Ellie Tolvinen.
- 17:15Speaker 1: We don't know what's going on yet here with Shane Wright.
- 17:17Speaker 1: But so far, Everett to find the progress on the
- 17:21Speaker 1: shroster to.
- 17:21Speaker 4: You, I think the progress has been measured. I think
- 17:26Speaker 4: the progress has been calculated. You know, it can be
- 17:30Speaker 4: very easy especially given the Krakens lack of success. So really,
- 17:35Speaker 4: you know, want to throw fire in Brimstone. Why didn't
- 17:38Speaker 4: they go out and trade for this guy? Why didn't
- 17:40Speaker 4: they go out and sign this guy. I've never been
- 17:43Speaker 4: a big fan of making moves just to make a move.
- 17:47Speaker 4: That's how you end up in the situation that other
- 17:50Speaker 4: teams are in right now. Yes, the Jason Robertson spurning
- 17:55Speaker 4: didn't feel good, and the Artemi Panaer and Sperning back
- 17:59Speaker 4: in may or Mark which rather didn't feel good. But
- 18:01Speaker 4: you're seeing Jason Bostrol make those moves. And everyone wants
- 18:05Speaker 4: to talk about being aggressive in a prolific offseason, Well,
- 18:08Speaker 4: listen to me. Being aggressive doesn't necessarily mean the end result.
- 18:13Speaker 4: It's the act of trying to get these guys in.
- 18:16Speaker 4: So I think that even though despite the crack and
- 18:19Speaker 4: didn't get those players that they were going after, Bobby
- 18:22Speaker 4: McMahon was your top offseason priority. You sign him. He
- 18:26Speaker 4: now is going to be comfortable. He now is a
- 18:28Speaker 4: legitimate top six forward on this roster. You bring in
- 18:32Speaker 4: Maki Samuskevitch, who is only twenty three years old. He's
- 18:35Speaker 4: got a ton of upside. He can shoot the buck,
- 18:37Speaker 4: you can skate like the wind. He's not afraid to
- 18:41Speaker 4: get his hands dirty a little bit. And you see
- 18:43Speaker 4: where he was playing in Florida. You're playing behind a Kachuck,
- 18:48Speaker 4: and you're playing behind a Barkov, and you're playing behind
- 18:52Speaker 4: some of these guys who are are a head of
- 18:55Speaker 4: you in the lineup for good. Now he's going to
- 18:58Speaker 4: have an opportunity to, like Bobby McMahon, spread his proverbial
- 19:02Speaker 4: wings and fly a little bit, show off his skill
- 19:05Speaker 4: set what he can bring. And he's only twenty two
- 19:07Speaker 4: years old, twenty three years old, so he's got plenty
- 19:09Speaker 4: of upside. I like that move didn't cost you a
- 19:12Speaker 4: whole lot to get him as well. I do think
- 19:14Speaker 4: that there may be another move out there. Obviously we
- 19:17Speaker 4: talk about Shan Wright, Jared McCann, Vince Done, some of
- 19:21Speaker 4: those names have come up in trade conversations. Now, Jason
- 19:25Speaker 4: has always said he's not going to make a move
- 19:27Speaker 4: either just to make a move. It's got to make sense.
- 19:29Speaker 4: It's got to make sense for this team moving forward
- 19:32Speaker 4: and currently today. So I don't think this team is done,
- 19:37Speaker 4: but I wouldn't hold my breath for that major Earth
- 19:41Speaker 4: shattering move that I think a lot of folks are expecting.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Yeah, where does that? He is still looking to take
- 19:46Speaker 1: swings out there into this month. He said so about
- 19:49Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago. And you know, if you
- 19:51Speaker 1: look for an upgrade like that, you're looking for a
- 19:53Speaker 1: stopball upgrade, kind of like Casey Sadler's bat as well
- 19:56Speaker 1: back in the late innings here. So I ask.
- 19:59Speaker 4: You, I ask you, good conversation.
- 20:02Speaker 1: I had to tie it in. I had to tie
- 20:04Speaker 1: it in there. You know, this bigger upgrade by trade
- 20:07Speaker 1: here for this team, Everett is a good if they
- 20:10Speaker 1: could have the key to unlock this for the top line.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Is a bigger get at center or is a bigger
- 20:15Speaker 1: get at the wing?
- 20:18Speaker 4: You know, I'm gonna say the bigger get's gonna be
- 20:21Speaker 4: at the wing simply because I like the game that
- 20:26Speaker 4: Maddy Beniers showed last season. I mean, yes, his offense
- 20:30Speaker 4: dipped a little bit, but he added a legitimate two
- 20:35Speaker 4: hundred foot game defensive side game to his defensive side
- 20:39Speaker 4: of the buck game last season, and I think he
- 20:42Speaker 4: morphed into definitely in the division, one of the better
- 20:46Speaker 4: two way centnermons that we have in the Pacific Division.
- 20:48Speaker 4: I also think that in taking Jason Boscholl's words, not
- 20:53Speaker 4: trying to hinder the development of other players, this team
- 20:56Speaker 4: wants to get Berkeley Catton back at center. They want
- 20:59Speaker 4: to give him some regular reps in the middle of
- 21:01Speaker 4: the ice. So I think if you can bring in
- 21:04Speaker 4: an experienced offensive winger that can protect him a little bit,
- 21:08Speaker 4: that can clean up some of those potential young mistakes
- 21:11Speaker 4: that we're going to see out of a Birthley Cat
- 21:13Speaker 4: and again not his fault, he's only played one year
- 21:15Speaker 4: in the NHL. I think that'll pay dividends off. But
- 21:18Speaker 4: once again, it all depends. And I've said this before
- 21:21Speaker 4: and I'll say it again. If you're trying to upgrade
- 21:24Speaker 4: this team, you're going to have to work the problem backwards.
- 21:27Speaker 4: You look at this roster and you have to say
- 21:29Speaker 4: to yourself, who on the Seattle Kraken. If I'm an
- 21:32Speaker 4: opposing team do I want on my roster. So then
- 21:36Speaker 4: you go, okay, well, if I want player X from Seattle,
- 21:40Speaker 4: I'm going to hopefully try to keep player why on
- 21:42Speaker 4: my team. So the crack and are going to have
- 21:44Speaker 4: to be prepared potentially to lose maybe a big piece
- 21:48Speaker 4: a couple of big prospects, a couple of high draft picks,
- 21:51Speaker 4: which it sounds like them from everything that we've heard
- 21:53Speaker 4: from management. Everything's in play, which it has to be
- 21:57Speaker 4: going into this season.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Well, they'll never ever trade you. They won't trade us
- 22:00Speaker 1: hopefully here from the sopball ranks. But it was great
- 22:03Speaker 1: hanging out, my friend. I owe you a beverage. It
- 22:05Speaker 1: was great competing with you. But let's get to this
- 22:08Speaker 1: soon and hopefully I hope your family's also doing well
- 22:10Speaker 1: this summer too.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Yep, everyone's doing well. Thanks.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Thank awesome you, bet Everett, thank you for joining us. Ever,
- 22:16Speaker 1: if it's you joining us via the Beacon Plumbing hotline,
- 22:18Speaker 1: I can take off the deal with that shades right now.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I don't know I had that plan.
- 22:23Speaker 2: By the way, I enjoyed you as a meme.
- 22:26Speaker 1: I think really anybody who has been tuning in for
- 22:31Speaker 1: the last roughly ten minutes has had a chance to
- 22:33Speaker 1: screenshot this now and turn me into a meme. I
- 22:37Speaker 1: don't know if it's ever it, or if it's anybody
- 22:39Speaker 1: else here, or if it's me or even you. I
- 22:42Speaker 1: wouldn't put it past you as well. I wouldn't put
- 22:45Speaker 1: it past for three to seven guys on top of.
- 22:46Speaker 3: That, it's pretty So mine was just like I set
- 22:51Speaker 3: myself up. You know, I didn't do it on my phone,
- 22:53Speaker 3: so it's just a picture of my.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Computer essentially.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Yes, at least we had the full of you go
- 23:00Speaker 1: up and the lightning didn't strike and take us all down.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Can harry out.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Because it is, But it's because the second you put
- 23:09Speaker 3: on the sunglasses the power flickered.
- 23:11Speaker 1: We need to save that video. We need to save
- 23:13Speaker 1: that like, oh yeah, if there's actually a promo video,
- 23:16Speaker 1: like I don't want to get to a radio radio lingo.
- 23:19Speaker 1: We hear. We call this drops like a save that drop,
- 23:22Speaker 1: Save that drop. That might be a.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Good video for Okay, you clip it.
- 23:26Speaker 1: That might be a good video. So yeah, we'll find
- 23:28Speaker 1: a way to clip this year ever it fits you.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Joining us in the Beacon Plumbing hotline once again. The
- 23:33Speaker 1: Kraken schedule is out today. We're gonna get Bobby McMahon
- 23:36Speaker 1: with us also a little past the eleven o'clock hour,
- 23:39Speaker 1: joining us in the middle of his offseason workouts, and
- 23:41Speaker 1: he's a big part of how this team is going
- 23:44Speaker 1: to get turned over. But I'm just going to refresh
- 23:46Speaker 1: a question for you once again missing the postseason for
- 23:49Speaker 1: four of the first five years. We heard the word
- 23:51Speaker 1: aggressive from Jason botterrel. But there are young kids coming
- 23:56Speaker 1: as well. Do you want another big piece come here
- 24:00Speaker 1: to this roster? Do you see the playoffs realistically or
- 24:04Speaker 1: do you want to see the slower build here with
- 24:06Speaker 1: the kids four nine five one to Komodash text line,
- 24:10Speaker 1: I want to hear your talkbacks as well. Whatever you got,
- 24:13Speaker 1: however you want to say it, jump in right now talkbacks.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Also to Komodash text line four nine four five one.
- 24:20Speaker 1: They got McMahon, which was a great start. They got
- 24:23Speaker 1: Makie Samuskevitch, which was a great start as well. Then
- 24:27Speaker 1: you hit the snag with Jason Robertson. Then I think
- 24:31Speaker 1: after that the narratives which began to evolve from the
- 24:34Speaker 1: Robertson situation, fair or unfair as it was, I thought
- 24:39Speaker 1: more so unfair really helped, I think define the course
- 24:44Speaker 1: of where this franchise had to go at the draft,
- 24:48Speaker 1: because they were big game hunting, maybe that week, maybe
- 24:52Speaker 1: around the draft, definitely, But yet they went ahead with
- 24:55Speaker 1: every draft pick. And I mentioned this previously on other
- 24:58Speaker 1: airwaves on the station. The morning of that draft. Perhaps
- 25:02Speaker 1: it was a sign, perhaps it was a morsel of
- 25:07Speaker 1: guiding light of information that they had to lean into
- 25:11Speaker 1: the young kids and there could be a potential franchise
- 25:14Speaker 1: game changer right under their nose. And what do you know, Hello,
- 25:20Speaker 1: Chase Reid, who many were saying, even at a few
- 25:25Speaker 1: months ago. It was not Kevin McKenna, it was not
- 25:29Speaker 1: Evar Stenberg. It was Chase Reid potentially who could be
- 25:33Speaker 1: the best player in the draft, definitely the best defenseman
- 25:38Speaker 1: at the draft. So this is a franchise game changer.
- 25:43Speaker 1: He may not be here for one year, but the
- 25:46Speaker 1: kind of return on an investment you're getting with him
- 25:49Speaker 1: could be worth it years upon years upon years down
- 25:53Speaker 1: the road.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:54Speaker 3: The one thing because he came on with Ian right
- 25:57Speaker 3: after the draft, Chase did speaking of and you can
- 26:02Speaker 3: just tell the maturity of someone in an interview. And
- 26:07Speaker 3: I don't judge people who aren't well versed at all,
- 26:10Speaker 3: but he was ready, appreciative, excited, and also he's going
- 26:15Speaker 3: to play in college, and that I think is one
- 26:19Speaker 3: of the things that we you know, these guys get
- 26:22Speaker 3: into the minors when they're sixteen, seventeen years old. He's
- 26:25Speaker 3: going to college and he is going to play there
- 26:28Speaker 3: and he's playing with the big boys.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Well that's that's also a big thing, Jess, because are
- 26:34Speaker 1: how you go into the college game now was different
- 26:36Speaker 1: versus back ten years ago when you had guys playing
- 26:39Speaker 1: major junior and you you're stuck there for you know, nineteen,
- 26:43Speaker 1: maybe even twenty years of age unless your name was
- 26:46Speaker 1: say Sidney Crosby or Nathan McKinnon or Connor McData.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Those were just one off. So those were just you know,
- 26:53Speaker 3: the anomaly. Yeah, right, and now it's almost like they
- 26:57Speaker 3: set an expectation.
- 26:58Speaker 1: But now the game is changing because you can have
- 27:00Speaker 1: players go back and forth like you couldn't do this
- 27:03Speaker 1: about ten fifteen years ago, going from say whl or
- 27:08Speaker 1: from where Chase Reid is the Ohl out in Ontario
- 27:11Speaker 1: to go play college hockey because there used to be
- 27:15Speaker 1: a clear boundary. College hockey defined major junior as professional
- 27:20Speaker 1: though it really was not, but it was just basically
- 27:22Speaker 1: protect their product. Now because the whole nil thing, the
- 27:25Speaker 1: door is blown wide open and Pandora's box has open,
- 27:28Speaker 1: and it's not gonna go ever ever back ever again,
- 27:31Speaker 1: we may see more guidelines here and more guardrails on
- 27:34Speaker 1: how this stuff works with nil, but I mean two
- 27:37Speaker 1: years ago the game completely changed, and now you're seeing
- 27:40Speaker 1: guys like Avin McKenna go from major junior to college hockey.
- 27:44Speaker 1: It's gonna happen with Land and DuPont and play just
- 27:46Speaker 1: north of US and Everett. He's going to Michigan. And
- 27:49Speaker 1: we're seeing this now with Chase Reid, who's gonna go
- 27:51Speaker 1: from the OHL to play for Michigan State. The thing
- 27:55Speaker 1: is with Chase Reed going to play there, he is
- 27:58Speaker 1: now elevating his competition and against bigger, more physically mature
- 28:03Speaker 1: players like you would see maybe in the college football
- 28:06Speaker 1: ranks or the college hoops ranks as well. And for
- 28:09Speaker 1: the college football analogy on this, what do you have
- 28:13Speaker 1: was say, maybe, and I'm just thrown out. I'm throwing
- 28:15Speaker 1: this out there. An eighteen year old quarterback or a
- 28:19Speaker 1: running back who has skill beyond his years but doesn't
- 28:24Speaker 1: have enough experience. But you give him one year maybe
- 28:28Speaker 1: to prove himself against juniors and seniors who are three
- 28:32Speaker 1: to four years of age for the pros. That is
- 28:35Speaker 1: way too darn good to pass up. And I will
- 28:39Speaker 1: say this, don't be surprised if Chase Reed blows the
- 28:43Speaker 1: doors down this year at Michigan State. We could be
- 28:48Speaker 1: talking about a Calee mccarr or Maddy Benier's like situation
- 28:53Speaker 1: where the Kraken say he is too good to refuse.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Sign us up, now, get that contract in and perhaps
- 29:02Speaker 1: let's just look at this. Maybe, uh, I'll peg this
- 29:06Speaker 1: for you right now, March fifteenth, cracking home against Saint Louis.
- 29:11Speaker 1: That's right around the time when Mattie Benier has made
- 29:14Speaker 1: his NHL debut coming out of Michigan. Chase Reid by
- 29:19Speaker 1: that time, say, if college hockey is done, wouldn't be
- 29:22Speaker 1: surprised maybe to see him.
- 29:24Speaker 5: Make his cracking debut.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Ooh, I like it.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I'm throwing that out there. You're I'm throwing that out there.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Would you like to see? As as as our sports
- 29:35Speaker 1: friend Dick Fiiteale said the Diaper Dandy, Chase Reid make
- 29:39Speaker 1: his debut in a cracking jersey at age eighteen.
- 29:43Speaker 2: I don't I don't want.
- 29:45Speaker 3: I don't want him to do it before he's not ready. Sorry,
- 29:47Speaker 3: I'm four nine, four or five one on air right now,
- 29:50Speaker 3: but I don't want him to do it.
- 29:52Speaker 2: I don't want him to get rushed.
- 29:53Speaker 1: That's the one thing is that he's got to be ready.
- 29:55Speaker 1: You don't want to rush exactly. I've seen way too
- 29:57Speaker 1: many guys, way too many guys get rushed.
- 29:59Speaker 3: I've seen it in every sport, you know, regardless of
- 30:02Speaker 3: you know, we're talking hockey and every sport is different.
- 30:06Speaker 3: But if he is ready, then I believe in the
- 30:10Speaker 3: powers that be within the Kraken organization to recognize it.
- 30:14Speaker 1: I mean, just ask Shane Wright, just me. I wouldn't
- 30:16Speaker 1: even consider him rushed. But I mean, there's this one
- 30:19Speaker 1: player who is no more complicated just from his background
- 30:22Speaker 1: because of COVID and that made him sit out a
- 30:25Speaker 1: whole year. Yeah, and he had a shame. He's basically
- 30:28Speaker 1: playing for about three coaches in three years, and you
- 30:30Speaker 1: know his growth has been stalled. But is he going
- 30:33Speaker 1: to be here or not? That's a big question. But
- 30:35Speaker 1: he's an example of why you don't want to maybe
- 30:37Speaker 1: rush guys at least on a smaller scale. But you
- 30:40Speaker 1: tell us, friends four nine, four or five one, do
- 30:42Speaker 1: you want that bigger swing here for the kracking or
- 30:44Speaker 1: do you want to see him fully lean into the
- 30:45Speaker 1: youth and get everybody up here. Take the losses, take
- 30:49Speaker 1: the hits. But yet see the kids develop and see
- 30:52Speaker 1: the fruits of their labor payoff in tenfold, three, four, five, six,
- 30:57Speaker 1: seven years down the road to the Seahawks. They have
- 31:01Speaker 1: already built something big, but now the ownership brings in
- 31:03Speaker 1: the questions, what do you want to see from them?
- 31:06Speaker 1: The coast love family, They're taken over And can you
- 31:09Speaker 1: believe it? Training camp is a week and a half away. No,
- 31:12Speaker 1: I can't believe it. You're gonna be out there by
- 31:13Speaker 1: the way, I think.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Yes, and and Greg and I have talked about this too,
- 31:17Speaker 3: that even though it is amazing that we get to
- 31:20Speaker 3: do what we do, it is like going back to
- 31:22Speaker 3: school shopping, you know, getting those paper bags, a couple
- 31:25Speaker 3: of your textbooks and things.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Yes, and so I love the summer so much.
- 31:31Speaker 1: First day of school for the Seahawks and you and
- 31:33Speaker 1: Greg and everybody else are at the station.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:36Speaker 2: NFL players feel the same exact way.
- 31:38Speaker 3: And I played a fall sport too, like volleyball is
- 31:40Speaker 3: the same season as football in college, and I just
- 31:43Speaker 3: remember that feeling and it is so exciting for the
- 31:47Speaker 3: sports fans.
- 31:48Speaker 1: That was one of the big reasons why I loved
- 31:50Speaker 1: going back to school in college early because I did
- 31:52Speaker 1: play by play for football back then, and it was
- 31:54Speaker 1: an excuse to just get out of the campus apartment,
- 31:57Speaker 1: go watch football practice and just bomb with the guys
- 31:59Speaker 1: out there.
- 32:00Speaker 3: Let's so your the campus is in full Yeah, so
- 32:03Speaker 3: you kind of like, you know, it's a year, yes exactly,
- 32:07Speaker 3: and everyone essentially speaks the same language. It's like, okay,
- 32:11Speaker 3: I'm doing three days. Where are you coming from? I'm like,
- 32:14Speaker 3: I'm from Cardio.
- 32:15Speaker 1: I'm going to lifting training camp at a week and
- 32:17Speaker 1: a half away. We'll get to more Seahawks and more
- 32:19Speaker 1: COSLA ownership stuff right after this. Right here, Mike Jessman
- 32:22Speaker 1: in for Greg ninety three three, kJ Arafin thanks again
- 32:41Speaker 1: it ever it fits you joining us a few minutes ago.
- 32:44Speaker 1: We're gonna get Bobby McMahon here for the Kraken a
- 32:47Speaker 1: little past the eleven AM hour with the NHL schedule,
- 32:50Speaker 1: hot fresh ready, just like a cheap five dollars pizza,
- 32:53Speaker 1: but a lot tasty year as far as I'm concerned,
- 32:56Speaker 1: going across the span of roughly six months. Who wants
- 32:59Speaker 1: to eat pizza six month after out of the box?
- 33:01Speaker 1: Forget it, I mean, never trade it.
- 33:02Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say.
- 33:03Speaker 1: I have done eighty four games, so I can't wait
- 33:07Speaker 1: October one against Calgary, cracking at Calgary October fourth, they'll
- 33:12Speaker 1: be back home to open up the home gift, tear
- 33:16Speaker 1: the bows apart on or open the wrapping up and
- 33:19Speaker 1: there be those flames once again at five pm and
- 33:23Speaker 1: climb the Pledge Arena, where then the Kraken and the
- 33:25Speaker 1: rest of the NHL take flight and perhaps who knows
- 33:29Speaker 1: four nine four or five one? You want to see
- 33:31Speaker 1: a reloaded team or do you want to see a
- 33:34Speaker 1: younger team? Give this a go and try to take
- 33:37Speaker 1: flight here from the crazy and chaotic month of October
- 33:41Speaker 1: four nine four five one to Comba Dodge text line.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Give us the talkbacks right now. They are open for business,
- 33:47Speaker 1: ready for you as well. We're also going to get
- 33:50Speaker 1: to a lot of these here on the Seahawks side,
- 33:51Speaker 1: because the news is still fresh here from the Cosla
- 33:54Speaker 1: family taken over Jess nine point six bit.
- 34:00Speaker 3: And the NFL cheers yes, because the valuation is obviously
- 34:06Speaker 3: what all of the ownership group cares about more than
- 34:08Speaker 3: anything else. And I Ian and I have and Greg
- 34:14Speaker 3: and I have like kind of taken deep dives into
- 34:18Speaker 3: what this ownership group might mean.
- 34:22Speaker 2: I'm getting more.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Optimistic by the minute the more I learn about this family.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Whenever you hear you know, tech or investment capitalist. And
- 34:32Speaker 1: I don't want to pigeonhole anybody here, but just even
- 34:35Speaker 1: I think you know a different background from business versus
- 34:39Speaker 1: what you've been used to, and even just throwing the
- 34:42Speaker 1: whole forty nine ers thing in there is gonna make
- 34:44Speaker 1: anybody nervous. It's an absolute nothing burger. Though it's an
- 34:47Speaker 1: absolute nothing burger. We have seen owners across many sports
- 34:53Speaker 1: come from different backgrounds. They had investments, even down the
- 34:56Speaker 1: ticketing side of it, with different teams. But when you
- 35:00Speaker 1: become an owner of a big league franchise, the game
- 35:05Speaker 1: and the allegiances completely change. So that is not of
- 35:10Speaker 1: any concern to me of like where their heart's gonna be.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Yeah, No, I agree with you wholeheartedly because the fact
- 35:17Speaker 3: that they already had stakes in the game when it
- 35:20Speaker 3: comes to the NFL, that they've learned a lot about
- 35:23Speaker 3: it before becoming a majority owner. They were minority owners
- 35:28Speaker 3: when it came I think three percent when it came
- 35:31Speaker 3: to the forty nine ers.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and so the.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Fact that they've already kind of seen how the sausage
- 35:37Speaker 3: is made and want to move forward with a majority ownership.
- 35:41Speaker 3: I think it's great even if it is just an investment.
- 35:44Speaker 3: They are buying a super Bowl champion team. And if
- 35:49Speaker 3: you learn anything from success, the way that both Paul
- 35:53Speaker 3: Allen and Jody Afterwards dealt with it, it was to
- 35:58Speaker 3: just okay, off, I'm going to give you what you
- 36:01Speaker 3: need and go for it.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Three things that check off the box for me with
- 36:06Speaker 1: current and modern and successful ownership One viability. Two stability
- 36:14Speaker 1: and that comes with the money thing. And number three
- 36:18Speaker 1: the ability to read the room with your team, with
- 36:23Speaker 1: your front office, with your fan base, how many tweaks,
- 36:27Speaker 1: how many changes do you need? And this is where
- 36:30Speaker 1: I think all of this comes into play once this
- 36:34Speaker 1: sale gets finalized, perhaps maybe by next month, when Vino
- 36:38Speaker 1: Cosla takes over, Nero Cosla takes over, and maybe the
- 36:43Speaker 1: biggest player in this game for years upon years down
- 36:47Speaker 1: the road.
- 36:47Speaker 3: Neil Cosla, Well, that is the interesting part of it.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Is the son who is young, right, I mean the
- 36:56Speaker 3: both of the parents, the Cosla and Neeru is the
- 37:02Speaker 3: one who is actually going to hold it. But if
- 37:06Speaker 3: it does end up getting passed down to Neil, he
- 37:09Speaker 3: is you.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I think it will well.
- 37:11Speaker 2: I mean, we're not dumb.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Yes, but we don't know, but we're pretty sure that
- 37:16Speaker 3: that's what it looks like. He is a young innovator himself,
- 37:21Speaker 3: and it's exciting to see. As long as you don't
- 37:24Speaker 3: mess with success too much, stay out of the football side,
- 37:27Speaker 3: and give the higher good people if need be. We
- 37:31Speaker 3: already have a pretty good staff there. But what I
- 37:36Speaker 3: was saying to Greg when we found out about all
- 37:39Speaker 3: this earlier this week is go in and ask how
- 37:43Speaker 3: you can help.
- 37:45Speaker 1: And what I think is important for me on top
- 37:47Speaker 1: of that is finding out how much you can help,
- 37:50Speaker 1: then learning about the nuances of what has made you successful.
- 37:54Speaker 1: In other words, how much will their tech influence big
- 37:58Speaker 1: question for me shape the way maybe the Seahawks approach AI.
- 38:01Speaker 1: There is a data world down football. There is an
- 38:04Speaker 1: analytics driven ROLD in football and really in pro sports period.
- 38:07Speaker 1: There's predictive modeling which goes into this. There's green technology
- 38:11Speaker 1: that is a big core value of the Pacific Northwest.
- 38:15Speaker 1: There's even philanthropy also which goes into another big core
- 38:18Speaker 1: value of the PNW. So again, for me, I think
- 38:21Speaker 1: the biggest question is here four nine, four or five
- 38:23Speaker 1: one and in training camp about a week and a
- 38:25Speaker 1: half away. This is going to make things so compelling
- 38:28Speaker 1: when the Seahawks finally hit the turf once again over
- 38:32Speaker 1: at Virginia Mason Athletics Center. What do you want to
- 38:35Speaker 1: see under the new Seahawks ownership? Do you want to
- 38:38Speaker 1: see upgrades in lumen? The talks of this hole lease, expiring,
- 38:43Speaker 1: new stadium elsewhere? I think a lot of you want
- 38:46Speaker 1: to see this day put I don't blame you. What
- 38:48Speaker 1: upgrades do you want to see around Luhmen? Do you
- 38:51Speaker 1: want to see maybe a game day March before the
- 38:54Speaker 1: opening kickoff a la the World Cup? How intensifying, how
- 38:58Speaker 1: electrifying Seattle moments leading up to a kickoff? I can
- 39:03Speaker 1: say it now at LUMAN for the World Cup games. Maybe?
- 39:08Speaker 1: Do you want to see an Atlanta Falcons approach on
- 39:11Speaker 1: concessions where everything is offered for pennies on the dollar.
- 39:15Speaker 1: I'm talking like three dollars popcorns, three five dollars sodas.
- 39:20Speaker 1: I'm generalizing here, but that's kind of the Grand Slam
- 39:23Speaker 1: home run. That the Falcons sit for their folks, for
- 39:27Speaker 1: their fan base, for their customers, is keeping costs low
- 39:32Speaker 1: so you go back for more and more. Do you
- 39:34Speaker 1: want to see maybe a football front office that is
- 39:37Speaker 1: so tech savvy it looks like Globo gym from Dodgeball,
- 39:41Speaker 1: And you're elevating now a team that has won two
- 39:43Speaker 1: Lombardi Trophies to now chase down more and more and
- 39:48Speaker 1: look to go after the Steelers, the Cowboys. We're a
- 39:52Speaker 1: long way now from nineteen ninety seven, aren't we. Do
- 39:55Speaker 1: you want to see more philanthropy work or do you
- 39:57Speaker 1: just want to simply put see this whole ownership group,
- 40:01Speaker 1: lay off the gas pedal and just sit back and
- 40:04Speaker 1: write the checks.
- 40:05Speaker 3: That's what the best leaders I've ever worked with have done.
- 40:08Speaker 3: If if we are in a place of success, is like, Okay,
- 40:12Speaker 3: let me see and then maybe I'll come in when
- 40:15Speaker 3: I see something wrong.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Four nine four five one Tacoma dodge text line talkbacks
- 40:19Speaker 1: as well. Cannot wait here to hear what you have
- 40:23Speaker 1: to say on this and again that's gonna make the
- 40:25Speaker 1: opener here for training camp in about a week and
- 40:27Speaker 1: a half. So so so dicey and so compelling and
- 40:31Speaker 1: so juicy is the whole vibe around training camp now
- 40:34Speaker 1: with the Coast list coming into play, even we're looking
- 40:37Speaker 1: to even see when we're gonna have that first massive
- 40:40Speaker 1: interview drop in and we're gonna hear everything from what
- 40:43Speaker 1: they're all about, what they want to do, and how
- 40:45Speaker 1: they're going to invest not just their money but also
- 40:49Speaker 1: their time and their philosophy here into this. But again
- 40:51Speaker 1: four nine four five one to coma Dodge text line. Also,
- 40:54Speaker 1: we'll hear your top backs on this. What does Bobby
- 40:58Speaker 1: McMahon think about where the Kraken are heading right now?
- 41:01Speaker 1: What's his ultimate sales pitch to anybody else coming in
- 41:05Speaker 1: on this team that continues to take shape and now
- 41:08Speaker 1: finally has a schedule released about an hour ago the
- 41:13Speaker 1: NHL for the Krack Inside opening up October one against
- 41:17Speaker 1: the Calgary Flames. Bobby McMahon joins us right after this,
- 41:21Speaker 1: Mike in for Greg bell A, Jessamon ninety three three
- 41:23Speaker 1: k jarrafin now from the Starrunners Sports to us your
- 41:58Speaker 1: ninety three point three KJRM sports headlines. Headlines were brought
- 42:03Speaker 1: to you by Frostprew Corps. Light to Chill World Cup
- 42:07Speaker 1: coming to a crescendo that will be on Sunday with
- 42:10Speaker 1: the stage all set here for the finals Spain and
- 42:14Speaker 1: Argentina andrews Hurst. Hello, that will go down right here
- 42:19Speaker 1: on ninety three to three KJRFM. Be there, be here,
- 42:22Speaker 1: be with US, France and England by the way, square
- 42:25Speaker 1: off Saturday in the third place payoff game as well.
- 42:29Speaker 1: NHL schedules are out. It's hot, it's fresh, crack and
- 42:33Speaker 1: get going. October one at Calgary home opener will be
- 42:37Speaker 1: against those same Flames. October fourth, that will be a
- 42:42Speaker 1: Sunday right back here at Climate Pledge Arena by the way,
- 42:46Speaker 1: five pm. Puck drops here for the a lot of
- 42:48Speaker 1: these Sunday games, plus also quite a few Monday and
- 42:51Speaker 1: Thursday games also moving to six forty we'll touch on
- 42:54Speaker 1: that a little bit later on here. Plus a special
- 42:57Speaker 1: guest joining us right around the corner. Sounders off again.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Sue those naughty Timbers of Portland seven thirty o'clock tonight
- 43:06Speaker 1: pregame at seven FIFA felt sorrow and Jackson Felts has
- 43:10Speaker 1: got you by the way right here as the Sounders
- 43:13Speaker 1: take on Portland Mariner's mid season break. They're back in
- 43:16Speaker 1: action tomorrow, opening up the second half of the post
- 43:20Speaker 1: All Star Break schedule against the San Francisco Giants and
- 43:23Speaker 1: a part of the homestand the Reds also next week
- 43:26Speaker 1: coming into town. Plus the Seahawks also looking like it's
- 43:30Speaker 1: a week and a half away now from training camp,
- 43:33Speaker 1: a lot more to get to also, plus the Open.
- 43:36Speaker 1: Jackson super going low on day one at Royal Birkdale,
- 43:40Speaker 1: shooting a five under sixty five. He is also one
- 43:45Speaker 1: ahead of Daniel Brown, Sung, Jai m and Pearson Coody
- 43:50Speaker 1: over at the Open at Royal Burkedale. We go now
- 43:54Speaker 1: with more of the show. Craig Bells out, Mike Benton
- 44:03Speaker 1: in for Greg, with Jessman as well. Four nine one
- 44:06Speaker 1: Tacoma Dodge text line top bats were open for business.
- 44:09Speaker 5: By the way.
- 44:10Speaker 1: On that and again we wanted to tip the cap.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Glasses are off, by the way, in case you joined
- 44:16Speaker 1: us earlier. That's kind of an inside joker for the
- 44:18Speaker 1: ten am hour forever it fits you been. But a
- 44:21Speaker 1: big thanks for him or to him here for joining
- 44:23Speaker 1: us as well.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Be good joke.
- 44:26Speaker 1: I got the glasses here, by the way. Remember the
- 44:28Speaker 1: old meme from ten years ago, Yes, deal with it. Yes,
- 44:32Speaker 1: that was for a softball game this last weekend.
- 44:35Speaker 2: I did not know that those classes still.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Existed this I literally just found them sitting in the
- 44:42Speaker 1: corner of my kids playroom last week. Literally found them
- 44:45Speaker 1: in the corner.
- 44:46Speaker 2: It's like way too beyond the curtains.
- 44:48Speaker 1: I literally, I mean, I have no idea where where
- 44:51Speaker 1: they get these things. Sometimes they have a prize day
- 44:54Speaker 1: at school. I literally just found them in the toy
- 44:57Speaker 1: bin of a corner of Mike play I thought, oh,
- 45:01Speaker 1: I got to use these for something. These would be
- 45:03Speaker 1: awesome and lo and behold, thank you Softball for the
- 45:05Speaker 1: gift that keeps on giving. But we had a great time.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Everett and Eye over at Cheney Stadium this last weekend
- 45:12Speaker 1: here for the Seattle All Star Celebrity Softball Challenge put
- 45:15Speaker 1: on by the Great Folks as well and our hosts
- 45:18Speaker 1: additionally Rashid Shaheed and you Chennanuosu. Quite a few Seahawks
- 45:23Speaker 1: also out there and they're going to be getting going
- 45:25Speaker 1: in about a week and a half for training camp.
- 45:27Speaker 1: But in the meantime, the Kraken finally had the slate
- 45:32Speaker 1: all lied down. It is firmly cast October one against
- 45:36Speaker 1: Calgary October fourth, at home, taking on the Calgary Flames.
- 45:42Speaker 1: This will also open up seven games in nine days
- 45:46Speaker 1: to give us our first glimpse of really what this
- 45:49Speaker 1: team is going to be all about. We've heard the
- 45:52Speaker 1: words aggressive of a return to the roster, but we
- 45:55Speaker 1: have heard hints of how much the youth really matters
- 45:58Speaker 1: and how much more role are open potentially for them.
- 46:01Speaker 1: If you kind of read between the lines that goes
- 46:04Speaker 1: for Berkeley Catton, that goes for Jacob Allanson, how much
- 46:08Speaker 1: did he turn heads with his grit and grit's a
- 46:12Speaker 1: big thing here for this team. But the roster turns
- 46:15Speaker 1: over with more and more yes is here at least
- 46:18Speaker 1: in the form of Bobby McMahon and Mackie Samuskevitch. By
- 46:21Speaker 1: the way, Bobby McMahon kind enough to join us right
- 46:23Speaker 1: now on the Beacon Plumbing Hotline again. Mike Benton in
- 46:26Speaker 1: for Greg Belt today with Jessemin. Bobby, how are you
- 46:30Speaker 1: how much are you into workout in countdown mode at
- 46:34Speaker 1: this point of the offseason.
- 46:37Speaker 6: Definitely into the swing of things. Excited to get going
- 46:41Speaker 6: even more now seeing the schedule out and just getting
- 46:44Speaker 6: that much closer the season.
- 46:45Speaker 1: It certainly gives you a little bit more to work
- 46:47Speaker 1: for and a little bit more extra flavor here on
- 46:50Speaker 1: the steak, so to speak. With knowing who you're going
- 46:52Speaker 1: to be playing October one, when you can finally get
- 46:55Speaker 1: back to home ice up here on October fourth, Bobby.
- 46:58Speaker 1: But let's get here to the schedule. First off, you're
- 47:01Speaker 1: going to hear a loud, climbing pledge arena that will
- 47:04Speaker 1: be for the home opener, as we said October fourth,
- 47:06Speaker 1: And again overall, it's showed time back on October one.
- 47:09Speaker 1: But what do you get the most out of seeing
- 47:13Speaker 1: an NHL season go from eighty two to eighty four games?
- 47:17Speaker 6: Now, that's exciting. It's more hockey to be played, better
- 47:24Speaker 6: fan experience, hopefully two more games that people can catch
- 47:27Speaker 6: and find the time to watch. And I think that
- 47:30Speaker 6: they're able to fit to global series games in there
- 47:33Speaker 6: too as well. So I think it's exciting. I think
- 47:35Speaker 6: it's just more hockey, and I think everybody's happy about that.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Oftentimes we've heard how much six games, maybe even for
- 47:42Speaker 1: some team's eight games, it was just way too much
- 47:44Speaker 1: of the preseason schedule. So now with eighty four games,
- 47:47Speaker 1: you get that knockdown to three for the preseason side.
- 47:49Speaker 1: I mean, how much does that matter? And you know,
- 47:52Speaker 1: how much does it really kind of take for you,
- 47:54Speaker 1: whether it's you know, one period one game two preseason
- 47:57Speaker 1: games to really feel it, like you know, yeah, I'm ready,
- 48:00Speaker 1: I've got all the russ knocked off. I'm going to
- 48:02Speaker 1: go now for game one.
- 48:05Speaker 6: Yeah. You come in and camp's always difficult. I think
- 48:08Speaker 6: then you look at preseason games that kay, I got
- 48:11Speaker 6: some time to get my feet what kind of ease
- 48:13Speaker 6: into things a little bit with those six to eight
- 48:15Speaker 6: preseason games. But now it's shorter, I think guys will
- 48:18Speaker 6: adapt pretty well. I think once it's regular season, the
- 48:21Speaker 6: adrenalines going, guys are excited. It's that first game. I
- 48:24Speaker 6: think guys will be ready. There might be maybe one
- 48:26Speaker 6: or two kings to work out still in those first
- 48:29Speaker 6: few games. You can't expect it to be equipping at
- 48:32Speaker 6: the same rate as they are at game eighty or
- 48:34Speaker 6: eighty two or whatever it is. But I think guys
- 48:36Speaker 6: will be ready to go, and knowing that it's going
- 48:39Speaker 6: to be a shortened preseason, guys will put that more
- 48:41Speaker 6: work in leading into camp.
- 48:43Speaker 1: November twelfth and fourteenth. What are you looking forward to
- 48:46Speaker 1: the most when it comes to going to Finland?
- 48:51Speaker 6: Honestly, just the travel will be cool. I think having
- 48:55Speaker 6: been around some Finns playing on different teams, and Wesly
- 49:00Speaker 6: in Seattle too. I think talking to those guys who
- 49:02Speaker 6: were already kind of seeing what would what it would
- 49:05Speaker 6: be like, how how fun it would be to travel there,
- 49:07Speaker 6: and then obviously to play in a country like that
- 49:11Speaker 6: where hockey is already so big. I'm sure the crowds
- 49:14Speaker 6: will be great. I'm sure they'll be excited. We'll be
- 49:17Speaker 6: excited to get over there and hopefully come out with
- 49:20Speaker 6: a few wins.
- 49:20Speaker 1: How much have you leaned on Coppo Coco's advice at
- 49:23Speaker 1: least for you know, cuisine or anything else to do
- 49:25Speaker 1: out there during downtime.
- 49:27Speaker 6: Oh yeah, he'll be my first first contact, first text,
- 49:30Speaker 6: first call. With everything, I'm banking a lot on him.
- 49:33Speaker 6: I'm sure he's got a lot.
- 49:34Speaker 4: On his plate.
- 49:35Speaker 6: He might even be stressed about it, trying to figure
- 49:37Speaker 6: out how he's gonna treat all the boys and make
- 49:39Speaker 6: sure everybody has a good time. I'm sure. I'm sure
- 49:41Speaker 6: we all will regardless, but I think everybody's trying to
- 49:44Speaker 6: lean on to see if he can take the reins
- 49:47Speaker 6: and shoreby a good time.
- 49:49Speaker 1: I think we all can't wait to hear how long
- 49:51Speaker 1: the ticket request is going to be for him going
- 49:54Speaker 1: out the door. Bobby McMahon joining us right now on
- 49:56Speaker 1: the Beacon Plumbing hotline. Bobby, how much do you have
- 49:59Speaker 1: to date circle here on the calendar? Home against the
- 50:02Speaker 1: Leafs October twenty eighth, at the Leafs March third.
- 50:09Speaker 6: Yeah, that those would be exciting ones. I've been in
- 50:12Speaker 6: Srota long enough that know a lot of the people
- 50:15Speaker 6: in that organization, a lot of guys on the team
- 50:18Speaker 6: still good friends, of course, and I'll be looking forward
- 50:21Speaker 6: to those games. Those will be exciting ones.
- 50:24Speaker 1: There's a lot of road games also here to begin
- 50:26Speaker 1: this part of the schedule, you know, And the folks
- 50:28Speaker 1: can say that the first month can be you know,
- 50:30Speaker 1: silly season territory. There's a lot of mistakes, you know,
- 50:34Speaker 1: and with mistakes come breakdowns, and when breakdowns come offense.
- 50:37Speaker 1: So I mean to say that you got seven games
- 50:40Speaker 1: here in the first nine, you know, nine overall. You know,
- 50:43Speaker 1: it's a pretty tough sledding here as far as the
- 50:45Speaker 1: road part of this, But anything can happen, that's what
- 50:47Speaker 1: they usually say. So how important is that first stretch
- 50:50Speaker 1: in October to you to bank the points? Yeah?
- 50:54Speaker 6: I think you always want to start banking them as
- 50:56Speaker 6: quick as possible. You look down at the playoff race
- 51:00Speaker 6: the end of the season and you're within a point
- 51:02Speaker 6: or two points, or you're tied with teams, and you're thinking, back, all,
- 51:06Speaker 6: we let that one slip early on in the season.
- 51:08Speaker 6: Maybe we should have tried to close that one out
- 51:10Speaker 6: a little bit or been more focused on it, I guess.
- 51:13Speaker 6: So you always want to stay focused and be making
- 51:16Speaker 6: those pushes right at the start of the season. And
- 51:18Speaker 6: I think a road trip like that too, with all
- 51:20Speaker 6: those games, really gets the team into the swing of things. Obviously,
- 51:23Speaker 6: there's new faces, there's new dynamics, there's gonna be new
- 51:26Speaker 6: combinations up and down the lineup. So I think that
- 51:30Speaker 6: in conjunction with time spent on the road with guys,
- 51:33Speaker 6: getting to know guys even more, getting close with guys,
- 51:35Speaker 6: going to dinner with guys, all those things are are
- 51:38Speaker 6: big for a successful season and to feel like you're
- 51:42Speaker 6: fully a team. So I think that road trip's gonna
- 51:44Speaker 6: be great for us.
- 51:45Speaker 1: You'll get quite a bit of playing time here at
- 51:46Speaker 1: Calgary and Edmonton to begin the season, then after the
- 51:49Speaker 1: quick two game homestand Detroit, Washington, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay and Florida,
- 51:55Speaker 1: so you get plenty of playing time or playing time here.
- 51:58Speaker 1: The funniest guys you found out on the plane so
- 52:00Speaker 1: far for the first few weeks in this team, who
- 52:02Speaker 1: are they?
- 52:05Speaker 3: Uh?
- 52:06Speaker 6: Depends, I guess where what part of the plane you're on,
- 52:09Speaker 6: If you're around the if you're around the table.
- 52:12Speaker 3: Uh.
- 52:13Speaker 6: Maddy Benier's is usually yelling at somebody for making a
- 52:16Speaker 6: wrong play on the on the card table or whatever.
- 52:18Speaker 1: He gets competitive to a car, doesn't he.
- 52:22Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, this is on on the other end, on
- 52:24Speaker 6: the other table, and he's usually getting mad at somebody
- 52:28Speaker 6: for beating him. And just I guess it depends. But
- 52:31Speaker 6: everybody's everybody's been a character. Everybody's been great.
- 52:34Speaker 4: Uh.
- 52:34Speaker 6: Couple Coco is usually cracking jokes.
- 52:36Speaker 4: Yeh.
- 52:37Speaker 6: Behind me, him and Monty are going back and forth
- 52:40Speaker 6: chirping each other, and they always got good materials. So
- 52:43Speaker 6: just depends where you want to land yourself on that plane.
- 52:45Speaker 6: It might be hearing different.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Stuff that's on brand Coppo Coco and Brandon montor always
- 52:49Speaker 1: to put a laugh on your laughing you and a
- 52:51Speaker 1: smile on your face again. Bobby McMahon joining us right
- 52:54Speaker 1: now on the Beacon Plumbing Hotline. Bobby, as you get ready,
- 52:58Speaker 1: here for this kind of we call the second half
- 53:01Speaker 1: of this part of the offseason, and thankfully we're into
- 53:04Speaker 1: it now and it kind of feels like the light
- 53:06Speaker 1: of the end of the tunnel is getting brighter for
- 53:08Speaker 1: us at the beginning of the season. Now that you've
- 53:11Speaker 1: re upped, what do you want people to understand about
- 53:15Speaker 1: your game this next season.
- 53:21Speaker 6: I think my main focus for me is always using
- 53:24Speaker 6: my speed. I think I'm a fast player. I can
- 53:26Speaker 6: utilize that speed to drive plays, but also push defenders
- 53:30Speaker 6: back and also close on d so that's from closing.
- 53:34Speaker 6: I want to be physical. I can get to get
- 53:36Speaker 6: the guys quick, try and finish my checks, be hard
- 53:39Speaker 6: on the fore check, use my speed to try and
- 53:41Speaker 6: generate offense, open things up for other guys. I think
- 53:44Speaker 6: those are all things that I take pride in. And
- 53:48Speaker 6: I'm also not afraid to shoot the puck. I I
- 53:50Speaker 6: like the puck on my stick and I like shooting it.
- 53:51Speaker 6: And there's been in the time that I've been there
- 53:54Speaker 6: a ton of great passers and a ton of great
- 53:56Speaker 6: passes I've gotten from those guys. So I'm just looking
- 53:58Speaker 6: to get it off because I can, and hope it
- 54:01Speaker 6: goes in Bobby.
- 54:03Speaker 3: Everything you just said I think made Krakens fans out
- 54:06Speaker 3: there just really get excited for this upcoming season. Jessaman
- 54:10Speaker 3: McIntyre here with you, and the one question I had
- 54:13Speaker 3: for you for those let's just go thirty thousand feet
- 54:15Speaker 3: above the sport. There are a lot of people here
- 54:18Speaker 3: who are football, baseball, and even though the Kraken have
- 54:22Speaker 3: been around for several years, it's not a hockey born town.
- 54:26Speaker 2: What do you think that?
- 54:27Speaker 3: And I know that from the front office standpoint, they've
- 54:30Speaker 3: done an amazing job of welcoming in the hockey fan.
- 54:35Speaker 3: What have you noticed about what they've done and what
- 54:39Speaker 3: you can do to welcome in more.
- 54:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I think management and the organization has done a
- 54:47Speaker 6: good job of spreading the word and spreading the understanding
- 54:51Speaker 6: of hockey and the excitement of it. And I think
- 54:56Speaker 6: they've done a good job of getting out in the
- 54:57Speaker 6: community being involved. And I think that's just something that
- 55:01Speaker 6: we can continue to grow and continue to do more of,
- 55:05Speaker 6: is being involved in the community. And I think when
- 55:07Speaker 6: you start to show up and you get people out
- 55:09Speaker 6: of the games and people are there, you experience the
- 55:12Speaker 6: energy of the building and how fun those games can be,
- 55:14Speaker 6: and I felt it when I first got traded there,
- 55:17Speaker 6: that you could feel how energized everybody there at the
- 55:21Speaker 6: game was and how excited they were to be there,
- 55:24Speaker 6: and how much fun they were having, and a lot
- 55:26Speaker 6: of close games, the crowds right into it. They're giving
- 55:30Speaker 6: us energy, providing a push late in games, and I
- 55:33Speaker 6: think continuing to get people out of the games, continuing
- 55:37Speaker 6: to have that experience, and then being involved in the
- 55:39Speaker 6: community will just keep growing the sport in that city
- 55:43Speaker 6: and continue to grow the crack and organization.
- 55:45Speaker 3: And is that one of the reasons you wanted to
- 55:48Speaker 3: stay here, feeling that energy?
- 55:51Speaker 6: Yeah, it definitely was not really knowing playing a few
- 55:55Speaker 6: road games every year or a road game a year
- 55:57Speaker 6: in Seattle and you don't really get a feel for
- 56:00Speaker 6: the city or a feel for the energy. But as
- 56:01Speaker 6: soon as I got traded here, it was one or
- 56:03Speaker 6: two games and I could feel how much the fans cared,
- 56:06Speaker 6: how how important it was to be winning and to
- 56:11Speaker 6: put a great effort forward every night and to try
- 56:14Speaker 6: try to give them the best opportunity at a playoff experience,
- 56:18Speaker 6: and that was our goal and we'd fall short, but
- 56:20Speaker 6: I think you could tell that that desire was there,
- 56:23Speaker 6: and the passion is there in the city, and you
- 56:26Speaker 6: can feel that all the way around. You see the
- 56:29Speaker 6: crack and logos all over the place, and storefronts are
- 56:32Speaker 6: up and down Downtown or Bellevue or whatever it is
- 56:35Speaker 6: all around. I saw enough of that you could feel
- 56:37Speaker 6: that support. And then you see, like you look at
- 56:40Speaker 6: the city and you see how how nice the city
- 56:42Speaker 6: is and the landscape of it and all the nice
- 56:45Speaker 6: places you can live and go to and restaurants and
- 56:48Speaker 6: all those things I think are important. And feeling like
- 56:51Speaker 6: a community and feeling like almost a smaller city that
- 56:54Speaker 6: it is than it is, and feeling like it's a
- 56:56Speaker 6: very tight city that rallies around hockey and it's sports.
- 56:59Speaker 4: For sure.
- 57:00Speaker 2: I will home.
- 57:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll certainly add to that. I remember what the
- 57:04Speaker 1: playoffs felt like, looked like, sounded like here back in
- 57:06Speaker 1: twenty twenty three. And when you play in a city
- 57:08Speaker 1: where on the baseball side, the first inning sounds like
- 57:12Speaker 1: third down at Luman and you can literally cause earthquakes
- 57:15Speaker 1: here for World Cup games and NFL playoff games as well,
- 57:18Speaker 1: you play in a different kind of town and for
- 57:20Speaker 1: the better. But Bobby here, as far as the NHL
- 57:23Speaker 1: it's been a crazy role this offseason. We've got kind
- 57:26Speaker 1: of the dol drums of the UFA market. We're going
- 57:28Speaker 1: to put this offseason here to sleep, and then all
- 57:30Speaker 1: of a sudden, boom, we got offer sheets galore, guys
- 57:33Speaker 1: you know, pinning for like nineteen million. You know, trade
- 57:36Speaker 1: talks all over this league. Well, we don't know if
- 57:38Speaker 1: this team has done here, but you know, you've talked
- 57:41Speaker 1: a lot about what you have in the fan base
- 57:43Speaker 1: where you live, work and play. But on this team, Bobby,
- 57:46Speaker 1: you'd chose Seattle for a reason. To you, what's the
- 57:49Speaker 1: reality of that reason?
- 57:53Speaker 6: Yeah, I think I think you look at the reason
- 57:57Speaker 6: everybody wants to play is one love the game, but
- 58:00Speaker 6: too you also want to win. And you look at
- 58:03Speaker 6: how Carolina did this year and the process that they
- 58:06Speaker 6: had to go through over the years, and being in
- 58:09Speaker 6: a spot where it looked like Carolina was just maybe
- 58:12Speaker 6: a mediocre team for a while. They're like, they had
- 58:14Speaker 6: spurts of being doing really well and having success, but
- 58:18Speaker 6: then they couldn't quite figure it out. But there was
- 58:20Speaker 6: a bunch of guys that stuck it out there and
- 58:23Speaker 6: kind of built it from the ground up, and they
- 58:25Speaker 6: were able to eventually reach the ultimate goal of winning
- 58:29Speaker 6: the Cup. So you can kind of see the remnants
- 58:31Speaker 6: of that in Seattle with the amount of prospects that
- 58:34Speaker 6: they have, the desire from management and ownership to provide
- 58:38Speaker 6: winning hockey for the city and to make it a
- 58:40Speaker 6: winning organization.
- 58:42Speaker 1: So I think those.
- 58:44Speaker 6: Things are important to me, and I could see I
- 58:46Speaker 6: can see the vision and I am hopeful to realize
- 58:49Speaker 6: the vision of building something that's a new organization, building it,
- 58:54Speaker 6: building a new legacy, and being a part of it
- 58:56Speaker 6: from the ground up kind of thing where we can
- 58:58Speaker 6: continually grow year to year to try and push to
- 59:03Speaker 6: hit that ultimate goal and to be a successful team
- 59:05Speaker 6: and to be a continuing team year after years is
- 59:08Speaker 6: where I see this team could potentially get to with
- 59:12Speaker 6: the amount of resources that they're willing to throw out
- 59:14Speaker 6: the players, the level of treatment that they want to
- 59:17Speaker 6: take with the players, and then the types of players
- 59:20Speaker 6: that are here, and the whole organization itself has the
- 59:24Speaker 6: ability to do it if guys are willing to see
- 59:27Speaker 6: that opportunity and everybody in the organization is willing to
- 59:31Speaker 6: do everything they can to push it, because it takes
- 59:33Speaker 6: everyone there, and it takes the whole fan base, and
- 59:35Speaker 6: it takes the whole city to be a part of
- 59:38Speaker 6: that journey.
- 59:38Speaker 1: How much did nearly getting to thirty goals last season
- 59:41Speaker 1: shape the kind of summer that you want to have
- 59:44Speaker 1: in the gym?
- 59:46Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it was definitely personally a successful season.
- 59:51Speaker 6: By no means is that want to make me feel
- 59:54Speaker 6: complacent or feel like that's the ceiling. I'm always somebody
- 59:58Speaker 6: that wants to strive to get better. I want to
- 1:00:00Speaker 6: look at parts of my game that can get better,
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: that need improvement, that can be improved without losing sight
- 1:00:06Speaker 6: of my strength. So understanding that I had some success
- 1:00:10Speaker 6: and that's something that I want to feed me to
- 1:00:12Speaker 6: give me momentum to ride and feel that confidence, but
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: also continually work at other aspects of my game and
- 1:00:19Speaker 6: continue to work at the east west side of my
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: game without losing the up and down speed that I have,
- 1:00:25Speaker 6: without losing the physicality, and just continually trying to fine
- 1:00:28Speaker 6: tune and work on the game to be the best
- 1:00:31Speaker 6: that I can to hopefully win as many games as possible.
- 1:00:34Speaker 6: Next year.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: We're looking forward to having you back on ice around
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: here very very soon. I mean, we had the World
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Cup going on we've had baseball picking back up. The
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Seahawks are back soon. But all this is say that
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: hockey's right around the corner. We can't wait. So for
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: the rest of your summer, Bobby, what's that looking like?
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: Just a lot of working out, getting on the ice
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: a lot more, start to push for maybe three, four
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: or five times a week, trying to get on the
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: ice more, and then making my way down to Seattle
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: and get settled to get ready for a preseason and
- 1:01:05Speaker 6: then the season.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Bigger, faster, stronger, and a lot of folks can't wait
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: to see what's next year for you and for this team. Bobby,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: appreciate you, thank you, thanks so much for having me.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: That's Bobby mc McMahon joining us here. Bigger, pardon the
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: beacon plumbing hotline, Bigger, faster, stronger, and completely two feet
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: in for this town, this city, for this vision and
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: where this hockey team wants to go. And that is
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: what I think a lot of folks want to hear.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: Jess uh dun. Obviously that's exactly what they want to hear.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: It's six years, it's six million, I should say to
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: say I'm in. It's the fact that he was involved
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: here with other players to get on board. It's a
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: fact that he wants to be a part of the
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: keyre as we say, not a part of what happened,
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: the disease, anything else that's attached here to that. But
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: it's six year deal, five point seven million to say
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: I'm all in. He could have went anywhere he wanted,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: yeld all the cards. That's what I was saying.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: That's why I wanted to ask him that, you know,
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: it was part of what you saw from the fans,
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: a reason that you wanted to say.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: And this is why the whole talk and I'm not
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: going to get too deep into this because we're up
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: against it right now, but this is why the whole
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: talk of the whole Jason Robertson saga bothered me. Was
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: it was an isolated one off. Yes, I know it
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: for those following this there there was also our Timmy
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Paneren But when you have Jason Robertson, that news go
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: public and then everyone around the world and the online
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: space begins to run with let's just go ahead and
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: pick a part of what's wrong with this city that city,
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Oh Seeattle, you're up next. Let's all talk about what's
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: wrong with you. The matter of fact is players aren't
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: saying no because they don't want to come here. Players
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: are saying no because they have more control than they
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: have ever had before in this game. And we're seeing
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: it from young to old where they have three teams
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: in mind and they want to go to those teams
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: if they want to change the scenery. And the one
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: thing they have in common is they're all in a
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: winning championship window.
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: Now.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: The Kraken are not there just yet, but you have
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: one guy and McMahon another we heard earlier in Brandon
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: Montour who have said we're not there yet, but I
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: want to be a part of it when we get there.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: They are builders. That's what's so important to finally building
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: brick by brick for a championship franchise. Four nine four
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: five one Tokoma doj TeX's line top backs were getting
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: all that opening up in just a bit after this,
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Mike Betton and for Greg Bell what Jessamin on ninety
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: three to three k Jerfin, I'd really like to see
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: them invest in Lumenfield by doing nothing except two things,
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: lower the cost of the concession stands and tickets and
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: put in natural grass. That would be awesome. You're spending
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: about probably five bucks on beer, three bucks on popcorn
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: for a Seahawks game, maybe a ten dollars pizza. How
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: much are you running back for more during the game?
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: How much are you running back for more?
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Yes? At least me, because I'm probably bringing two kids
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: here to the game, So what like one trip is
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: not going to be enough. I may have to go
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: back for a second time, maybe even a third time.
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: I would say at a hockey game, Yeah, I would
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: do it during every intermission during the Mariners, I go
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: third inning, seventh and during a Seahawks game, in between each.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Quarter Mike in for Greg Bell with Jessaman four nine,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: four five one to coma dodge text line I've done. Maybe,
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: I would say on average two to three trips for
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: Mariners when I bring kids.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: Two to three. That sounds right, two to three for
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: any game.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Because at least for me, like I'm going to get something.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: We're stopping along the way to get my kids something.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: Three four innings later, it's like that I'm hungry again. Okay,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: we'll go back here, find some ice cream and then well.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: And it's like literal kids in a candy shop.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Here's also an idea. I mean, I'm I'm not sure
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: that again and again that this is part of me
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: where I'm tied up with hockey. I'm not sure the
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Seahawks do the refillable cup thing like the Mariners do
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: not not every MLB team does this, But what if
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: you actually design refillable the the refillable SODA's like the
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Mariners the best things they've ever done.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: It is so great because I go, you know a
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: lot of the time I'm bringing people and I'm driving
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: them and I'm not having adult beverages, and I get
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: that refillable thing, and you know you have that uh
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: just need to almost like not to sound weird, but
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: put something in your mouth, you like, you want to
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: sip on something. And when I can get myself a
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: diet coke and then in that third.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: Inning get another diet coke. It's amazing.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: What's great? What's the coast of family doing? If you
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: want to see him make tweaks four nine four five one,
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: we heard concessions, we heard natural grass. I asked, do
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: you want upgrades here at to lumen or do you
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: just want them to sit back and just write the
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: checks and just shut up, do nothing?
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: Do nothing four n don't mess with success.
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: I think the thing that Greg and I were talking
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: about too, the thing is being worried that new ownership
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: would step on the football operations.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Four two five. Panther's owner was first a minority owner
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: with the Steelers, and when he took over the Panthers,
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: he immediately began medaling in football operations. New Seahawks owner
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: is a better not repeat that pattern for the four
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: two five.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: Well, we saw what has not happened with the Panthers
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: and it has not been success.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: No, no, and there there are some other issues too
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: with with ownership.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: Well, yes, we don't even need to get into that stuff.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: They did that that you read on TMZ or dead
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Spin Back of the day, right two five three sing.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: I want to see a cracking team that will stand
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: up to its opponents. I am tired of watching this
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: team get pushed around by teams in the West. This
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: fine if you are rebuilding, but we are not rebuilding,
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: or at least according to management. I want a physical
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: I want a tough team that stands up for each other.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: If they do that, the wins will come. That from
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: the two five to three this is where I begin
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: to believe the more that you see Jacob Alanson in
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: this lineup, it's going to make a difference. Go back,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: and in case you missed this signing, and it was
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: maybe under the radar for July one, but six foot
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: nine tough guy Kurt Douglas, who also dropped the mits
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: in his very first NHL shift, not his first game,
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: but his first shift. Go look up Curtis Douglas versus
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: Curtis McDermott. And if you want some extra muscle outside
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: the doors of the club, you got one right there
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: in Curtis Douglas. Someone wants to take a little cheap
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: shot on Berthley, Caton Matty Beneers, Jared mccannon who's taken
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: a few of them in the last few years. That's
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: a guy you need based on the opponent, who is
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: going to calm the waters down.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: But that's what I and I had talked about this for,
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: you know, a long time, is that I don't know
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: if this is a proper to term to use, but goon.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: You can use goon, I mean, you use goon. You
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: can use in four sert tough guy whatever.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: And apparently you can say shy shy, which scares the
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: shinny out of me. Anyone says that on the because
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: I reached for the dumb button and then realize that
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: it's actually appropriate. But if you have someone like that,
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: it's almost like, I don't know how much WNBA you watch,
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: but Sophie Cunningham, Yeah, it's kind of that person.
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: Yes, Okay, she uses her.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: Silence and one finger to destroy people, but she's also
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: used to her muscles, and I feel like they send
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: her in.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: For that, and I love it.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Two three from Keith our friend from the two five three,
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: I want to see the Kraken go the Houston Astros route,
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: not the buzzers, not the cameras, lose a few years
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: to build the youth, then have a nice five to
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: ten year run about the cheating. Of course. That from
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: Keith in the two five.
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: No Trash Cans. Keith do uh, I do actually get
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: that sentiment, But I don't know if the fan hood
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: would withstand that much of a weight.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: Two oh six lots of crack and hyper a team
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: and didn't get better. Bobby McMahon is a third liner
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: anywhere else, five hundred record maybe at best. Okay, I mean,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: I don't know if you can put a twenty nine
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: goal guy maybe on a third line, unless you're the
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: eighty four Edmonton Oilers. He's gonna play higher in the lineup.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: He's gonna play higher in the lineup. I would look
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: at him to play with maybe Matty Benier's there's some
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: speed there. There's something going with those two. Who fits
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: on that third on that line on the right wing.
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: Matter of question, whether they want to trade for a
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: guy who can score about another thirty roughly matkiw Samuskevitch
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: can he pop? But that that that that's that's where
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: he is. He's a decent second top six guy, as
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: we say, first or second line, and a pretty decent team.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: Maddy ben here is also a good second line center
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: on a Stanley Cup contending team. That's where they want
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: to get to two oh six. Finally, say go the
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: kids route because the alternative will just cost way too
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: much of that from the two oh six. Believe Chris
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Crawford's lorcin right around the corner.
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: We I just gave him a bear hug outside, so yes,
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: he is indeed lurking.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: He's our bear Ian forness. By the way, isn't his
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: bear like slumbers somewhere, I believe in nearby Maple Valley.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: So Chris Crawford's in for him, Chris Craftor's next. It's
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: very important by the way that we lean into the
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: YouTubers here Mike in for Greg Bell along with Jessmon.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: I'm going to give credit. One of the first guys
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: who actually did this so well was a guy that
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: we here usually on Mondays for Mollywop Monday and will
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: be in now for Ian Furness, the one, the only,
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: the great Christopher Crawford, who I thought did so well
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: and I kind of giggled when he broke the fourth
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: wall continuously, so I try to take it up a
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: notch by saying you don't like the YouTube with itul Jess.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: I think I already had that out on the X machine,
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: didn't she I.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: Put it on Twitter X machine, the Twitter I call
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: it Twitter, but I still.
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: Call it Twitter. I don't care. Yeah, I don't care.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: Yeah, canceled me. I don't care. But we did not care.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: Everett, you're hearing us. That was our team name for
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: the Softball Classic last weekend. We did not care.
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: Did you have so much fun doing Oh my gosh?
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: I mentioned that you know what, it's all for a
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: great cause. Uh but you know me, like I'm the
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: least athletic guy, maybe in this radio station, in this building,
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: maybe in my family, maybe on the planet. So when
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: you get through the fact that by age twelve or
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: age eleven, your career or your single season high in
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: Little League for hits is three, it's time to go
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: look at other areas of recreation.
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: Sure.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: Sure, And my dad said, I'll pay for you if
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: you want to get better for baseball or golf, But
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: I'm not paying for both. At age thirteen, golf it
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: was you know.
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: Golf takes some athleticism, and I've heard you can swing
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: the sticks pretty good.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: So I try, I try.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: It was a lot.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: It was a lot more more fruitful for me. I
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: let her in, you know, high school shoutout Glendora High,
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: by the way. But you know, the baseball thing was,
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: as a kids say, at best miss so. But this this, this, this,
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: this this whole event like last last weekend over at
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: Cheney Stadium, like it was phenomenal, Like they made you
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: feel like a professional baseball player. Jersey that I'm wearing
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: was hanging up in the stall. You know, I got
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: to be teammates with you know, Miles Gaskin, Denzel Boston,
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: no particular order, Rashid Shaheed, who couldn't have been even cooler,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: even cooler. So so many folks made this thing very,
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: very fun. How are you, man, though, Doing good?
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: Doing good.
- 1:13:44Speaker 7: I'm enjoying this week off of Seattle Mariner baseball. I
- 1:13:49Speaker 7: wish I was wearing you. I wish I wasn't enjoying
- 1:13:52Speaker 7: it as much as I am, But you know, it's
- 1:13:54Speaker 7: nice to have a little bit of a little bit
- 1:13:58Speaker 7: of a break from bad baseball.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: Did you get the group chat, by the way, I
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: don't think I did. Oh just wait until you see
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Cherry Depolo.
- 1:14:08Speaker 7: I just saw it right when I was pulling up
- 1:14:10Speaker 7: from my drive, and I only saw the highlighted thing.
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: And I think Anders and I will probably.
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: Have how much we're going to dive into the bats
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: or lack thro of that that they may be chasing. Yeah,
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: we're gonna talk a lot about that. We're gonna go
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: over So I'm gonna be in the next two days
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: because Ian just is incredibly lazy, and it's just hard
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: to imagine he's a bear like slumber in Maple Valley
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: somewhere the Gold tournament wiped him out.
- 1:14:34Speaker 7: Oh no, I had to play eighteen holes. Now, I
- 1:14:36Speaker 7: got to take like one hundred and forty four hours off.
- 1:14:38Speaker 7: And I'm a Canadian and Cougar Gold is not as
- 1:14:41Speaker 7: good as they think it is.
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: Sorry, Jess, it is amazing.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: I love Cougar Gold.
- 1:14:46Speaker 7: It's alright, it's alright, it's all right, greating mac and cheese.
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: But ye oh my gosh, yes, that's fair.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: That is in it.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Call it a day.
- 1:14:55Speaker 7: Okay, then you just like lobster is what you like,
- 1:14:57Speaker 7: and then you have some mac and cheese on the side.
- 1:15:00Speaker 7: Here's one thing, don't beat and cheese. I'm the only
- 1:15:03Speaker 7: guy in this town that may have a seafood allergy.
- 1:15:05Speaker 5: Oh okay, that is a brutal thing to happen in.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: This If if I go to anywhere around here that
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: that that is serving something that swims on a platter, stay.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: Please shelfill fish.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: I say, if it's swims, I can't eat it.
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: Geez counts.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: It counts counts.
- 1:15:27Speaker 5: The crustaceans count. So I'm gonna be in the next
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: two days.
- 1:15:30Speaker 7: Today we're gonna kind of look at some American League
- 1:15:33Speaker 7: trade candidates that makes sense for both the bullpen and
- 1:15:36Speaker 7: for the bats, and then tomorrow will.
- 1:15:39Speaker 5: Yeah, that'll work, familar, That would be nice.
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:15:43Speaker 7: There's uh, there's some guys. I mean, there are some
- 1:15:46Speaker 7: guys who could make this team better. Apparently Jerry Depoto
- 1:15:48Speaker 7: disagrees with that based on that statement today, but uh,
- 1:15:52Speaker 7: you know there's also because you know, I've talked to
- 1:15:55Speaker 7: Justin Hollander about this, they can't just say we guarantee
- 1:15:58Speaker 7: we're going to make a trade. We get garantee that
- 1:16:00Speaker 7: we are going to make this team better. This team
- 1:16:03Speaker 7: isn't good enough, blah blah blah. That's just not a
- 1:16:05Speaker 7: realistic thing to say. But there's a thin line between
- 1:16:08Speaker 7: that and saying our players are better than anything you
- 1:16:11Speaker 7: can get on the trade market.
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: So tough, you know what.
- 1:16:15Speaker 7: Like that, there's a thin line between those two things.
- 1:16:18Speaker 7: So we'll go over some guys even if Jerry disagrees
- 1:16:21Speaker 7: that they could be available or not.
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: So I mentioned the meme from like about ten years
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: ago where you know the deal with the sunglasses I
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: popped them on here. I want to now create something
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: for tomorrow where like if we hear just something that
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: is just so crazy and so outlanders like we are
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: fine with the players we have we all of a
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: sudden freeze, frightened YouTube and like a bunch of question
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: marks all.
- 1:16:39Speaker 5: All I pop up like over my head, one thousand percent.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: Over my head.
- 1:16:43Speaker 5: What do you do?
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: By the way, if you get Mason Miller like him
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: and Andre's Munnos, oh my gosh, like that could give
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: you and then you have, you know, a chance to
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: have like a really special bullpen because you've got two
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: really good left handers and just wait till Matt Brash
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: gets right back.
- 1:16:58Speaker 7: Crash back, and it can be great and shortening the
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: game is important. Still got to work on improving this defense.
- 1:17:05Speaker 7: He's still got to work on getting not a platoon bat,
- 1:17:07Speaker 7: a right handed hitter who can hit left handers and
- 1:17:10Speaker 7: right handers. You have to do some real stuff. Despite
- 1:17:14Speaker 7: Depoto saying.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: All right, it's all right, Gray, Well you you have
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: this coming up, Andrews also, what else a you got
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: going on here?
- 1:17:19Speaker 7: We're gonna talk to Keith Long about the MLB draft
- 1:17:22Speaker 7: and the prospects, talk about Lazara Montes and Michael Royal
- 1:17:25Speaker 7: being one step away. We're going to talk about some
- 1:17:28Speaker 7: Seahawks stuff. I'm gonna talk a lot about this idea
- 1:17:32Speaker 7: that the Seattle Seahawks have to be loved by everyone
- 1:17:35Speaker 7: and the fans need them to love everyone too. I
- 1:17:37Speaker 7: keep seeing these reels about being disrespected, and I want
- 1:17:40Speaker 7: to talk about why the hell it matters to people
- 1:17:43Speaker 7: so much.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: The Dallas Cowboys the Green Bay Packers have a long long,
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: for a long time saying we did not care. Sure,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: we did not care. Looking forward to having it, Bud,
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: Thanks Chris, Chris, Yes last week and a supt ball.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: It wasn't the dark side that one. It was we
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: did not care because we did not care for Jess.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: I'm like for Greg Bell.
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: See you
