Transcript
- 0:01SPEAKER_02: It's the punt or go for it episode of the Mike Blitz podcast.
- 0:06SPEAKER_02: Some teams, they're done.
- 0:09SPEAKER_02: Dylan Rayola, is he the second coming?
- 0:13SPEAKER_02: Florida's teams.
- 0:14SPEAKER_02: Is Florida good?
- 0:14SPEAKER_02: Is Miami good?
- 0:15SPEAKER_02: We're gonna find out and talk about it more right here, huh?
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: Punt or go for it.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Mike Blitz.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: It is time for your punt or go for it.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: I'm here with Mark Franzen and Darren Steadman.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Thanks for coming back, sticking around, fellas.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: We've got some things to discuss today.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Are you guys ready for some punt or go for it action?
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: On a very special episode of Punt or GoFor.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: I think I'm feeling a little stodgy.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: I feel like a I feel like um like punty for some reason.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: I'm feeling very safe.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: I'm very conservative this evening.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: So do we have a look back at last week?
- 1:07SPEAKER_02: Because I've punted on everything last week.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: I have not looked at last week.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: I'm only looking forward as because I'm because I always go for it.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: I'm an aggressive coach.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: I never look back.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: I assume every decision I made in the past is good.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: It's always good.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Do you guys ever see that story that high school that never punts and he won a couple state championships?
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: He was some math guy.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: He was like, the most important thing is the ball.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: And it was a whole story of him in ESPN.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: I wish I could remember the details.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: It was like 20 years ago.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Do you want to talk about Darren?
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: No, I love it though.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: I think we went five games in my JV season without punting, maybe even revarsity as well.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: We went several games into the season before we punted for the first time.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: That's a good time there, coach.
- 1:44SPEAKER_02: Kevin Kelly, the Laski Academy High School Football in Little Rock, Arkansas.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: Never punted.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: Yes! 24 seasons, he won nine state championships using that.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: 24 seasons, highly unorthodox philosophy.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: Instead of deep kickoffs, almost exclusively attempted onside kicks to steal the extra possession, always went for two.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: I wouldn't have imagined the conservative coaches that just hated him.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Yes, there was one game that was watching.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: So they did a couple cover stories about the guy.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: And there was just one game that they covered that they were it was like the kind of highlighting what he does.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: And they just happened to get every onside kick that game.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: So they went down, scored a touchdown, onsides kicked, got the ball, scored a touchdown, and he kept having this feel like, Well, this is a team that we really respect, we really respect them, but yes, we went for the onsides kick again, and yes, then we scored again, and yes, we did the onside's kick again, and then we scored again.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: So, my point of that story is y'all should take a lead from that guy and never punt.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Don't ever punt.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: He's currently the high school football coach in Sheridan, Arkansas.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: I've got family in Sheridan, Arkansas.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: They know what this guy is.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: That's a beautiful little town.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Let's get him on this podcast.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: See, I want him, I want him on this podcast this segment because I know what he'll say.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: He'll back me up every time.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: He's always gonna go for it.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: He's never gonna punt.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: All right, so here's what we do.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: I got four opinions for you, four takes.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: And the options of you is your the blitzer to punt.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: I don't like that.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: That's stupid, no way, or go for it.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: Yep, that is right.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: You nailed it.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: That's the idea.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: Punt or go for it.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna I'm gonna lay out some arguments for you.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Mark and Darren are gonna push back on me or agree.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: We're gonna kind of talk through them.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: Four punt or go for it this evening.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: Punt or go for it.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Number one.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: We are at the end of September and we are seeing some teams fall by the wayside.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: In fact, I think they are left for dead.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Oklahoma, Louisville, SMU, USC, Southern Cal, Penn State, and Texas AM are all done.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: They have no chance at the playoffs.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: Uh, some of those teams have two losses, some of them only have one.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: I don't think it matters.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: I have seen enough through four weeks from all of those teams that none of them have a shot at making the playoffs.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: They are all done.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Texas AM, Penn State, USC, SMU, Louisville, Oklahoma.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: All done.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: Gentlemen, are you punting or are you going for it?
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: I gotta punt on that one.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: You got two major problems, I think.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: One of them is Louisville, tell me one of them's Louisville.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Louisville is at their all-time season low right now.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: They just lost to Wake Forest, but that's their only ACC loss.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Sure, they lost to Old Miss first game of the season.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: We'll forget about that one.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Louisville could very well play for the ACC Championship and have a chance at winning it.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: I think after we saw after them beating SMU and the way they played Old Miss, they have the capability of winning the ACC and beating Miami.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: So that's a bit of a flying ointment, but there's a big one.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: There's a bigger one too.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: USC Trojans.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Hold on a second.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Do we at least agree that Louisville's only way in is to win the ACC?
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: It is pretty far-fetched.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: Pretty far-fetched.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Okay, good.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: USC Trojans are a bigger problem.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: I think they will win out.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Excuse me.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: I think they will lose to Ohio State, and their resume will say two losses.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Lost to Oregon, loss to Ohio State.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: They play Indiana as well.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm talking myself into a pit here a little bit.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: They play Indiana, Ohio State, and they've lost to Oregon.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: Three if they win two of those and beat Ohio State at home, there's a problem.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: You're right, Michael.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: That's it's pretty far-fetched, but both of those teams have at least a path.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: And when two teams out of your list have a path, like I said, I'm feeling stodgy.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna punt.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: Let me tell you, let me say something about the USC thing.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: This is me projecting on what I know about Lincoln Riley into the future.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: The man just cannot get a defense to save his life.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: The can the we the canary in the coal mine, 42-26 first season win.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: They let those 23 points to the fourth quarter.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: They give up 30 points to Louisiana Lafayette.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: I we have no smart person has told me how to explain to me what happened at Rutgers, giving up 35 points to Ruckers, the worst team in the so there's my point.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: I like Gary Patterson.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: He's probably a Hall of Fame college football coach.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: He did wonderful things at TCU.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: Him and Lincoln are not working.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: And this is always the story with Lincoln and his defense.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: I know they only have one loss.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: If they run the table, they're obviously in the playoffs.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: They're just not gonna do it.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: The defense, they don't have it.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: They can't they can't go anywhere with Lincoln Riley in charge of a team that has to play defense as well.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: It never works out.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: Why is it gonna work out this time?
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: Mark, what do you think?
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: I'm going to go for it.
- 6:38SPEAKER_02: And I'm gonna go for it because I don't, again, like everything you said about USC, I agree with.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: Louisville's got to also close the season out against Kentucky.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: And regardless if they go to the ACC championship game and win, they have two losses now.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: That's a third loss, then the championship game.
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: I don't see him doing it.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: Penn State, they've got that one loss last week.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: They're gonna struggle against Northwestern.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: Then they have USC.
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: So then USC or Penn State's gonna knock the other one out.
- 7:02SPEAKER_02: Not a huge schedule after that.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: Uh, I think you're right.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: I think all these teams are done.
- 7:08unknown: Yep.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: Good stuff.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: I honorable mention, I didn't mention about all them or UW, Washington, a team that and that I'm not, I don't I didn't include them because I don't think people were interested.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: Oklahoma, Louisville, SMU, USC, Penn State, and Texas AM were all teams a lot of folks were betting on for preseason, make the playoffs, some dark horses, some favorites in some situations.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Oklahoma specifically, obviously, it's not working out for them.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: UW, not as much, but I think what's happening there with Jedfish, it's just not, I don't know why it's not working.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Go ahead, Mark.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: I've got this.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: They're gonna go at USC loss.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: They have Iowa at home.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: Then they've got they got Purdue, but then they're going to Nebraska.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: Nebraska's looked okay.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: They've got Penn State, which could go either way, Michigan State, whatever.
- 7:50SPEAKER_02: But then Indiana and Oregon to end the season.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: Washington's gonna have four plus losses.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: Yep, I agree.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: Going for it.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: Going for it.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: We're gonna stay in the Big Ten.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: Dylan Riola, former five-star quarterback, starter at Nebraska for two years, transferred at Oregon to sit behind Dante Moore.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: We all know what happened, that crazy injury.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Hopefully he's back soon.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: But Dylan Riola stepped up and he saved Oregon's season.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: USC mines a bad defense.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: We just talked about it, but they don't have a bad offense.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: If Oregon wasn't able to score, if they weren't able to keep up, that game is over.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: There's not Dylan Rayola balled out.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: He went 19 for 25 in that game.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: He had two touchdowns.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: I think he had like 200-290 passing yards.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: Dylan Riola saved, they were gonna lose that game.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: As I you never want to see injuries, but I really don't believe that they would have done it, won that game, and their season would have been over had Dylan Rayola not stepped in.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Dylan Rayola saved the Oregon Ducks season.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: Punt or go for it.
- 8:55SPEAKER_02: Go for it.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: That was huge, man.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: He did great.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: And I think they got UCLA this week.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: I think it's gonna be another shootout against UCLA's defense.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: It's next week.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: They have a bye week through Dante's concussion.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: But I still think against UCLA, is it on the road?
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: I was just looking at it.
- 9:14SPEAKER_02: It's an outson.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: Dude, guys, I he totally he's saving it for him.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: At least he's just keeping them above water enough for Dante to come back, take over, and be the sweetheart that he is and the future Miami Dolphin quarterback that he'll be the number one pick in the draft next year.
- 9:29unknown: Yeah.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: They're gonna, if they can get past, if they can get past this game, they have a softer kind of Illinois, Nebraska, Northwestern all create unique challenges in their own, but it's definitely a downturn in competition before it goes steps back up November 7th at Ohio State.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: So there's a they've my point is if Dylan Riola can get past UCLA and kind of maintain the status quo, like Oregon can play themselves right back in.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: And without Dylan Rayola, if it was just a conventional backup, I think we're all talking about Oregon Ducks in our first punter, go for it, add to the scratch off list.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: Darren, go ahead.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: But to answer, yeah, no, to answer your question, uh your question, like looking at the season, what could have been in the after Dante went down, their season would have been over, I think, because the season for them is making the playoffs.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: And so if they take a loss to USC and Oklahoma State in week four, I think they're yeah, their playoff shots are sh are over.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: I think you're right.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: And Rayola stepped up, and like you said, I will go for it.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: You said it correctly.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: He saved their season.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: Good stuff, good stuff.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: All right, let's move on to our third punt or go for it.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: So if you listen to our last podcast, you know that people are talking a lot about Florida.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: Florida obviously had the really first great win of John Summerall's career, beating Ole Miss, hanging a 50 burger on him.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: Just wildly impressive stuff.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: They are going on the road.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: They are playing Missouri.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: Listen, folks, the Florida love is really premature.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: FAU, Campbell, Auburn are not good games.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: This next four, after these next four games at Mizzou, South Carolina could be wounded motors at Texas versus Georgia.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: There's a very real chance that they are sitting at five and three in those games.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: And no at after eight games, maybe worse.
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: And I mean I wouldn't be super shocked if they lost.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: I would not.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: Five and three is worth.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: They're not being they're not losing South Carolina.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: At five and three, no one's talking to them like a top 10 coach.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: The season starts now.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: Kudos for the win.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: You deserve flowers for Ole Miss, but the love for Florida is premature.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: Punt or go for it.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: We're getting over our skis with Florida.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: Are they that good or do we still need to learn more?
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: Overreaction Monday.
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: Man, they jumped way farther than they should have been.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: No, yes.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: Are they a good team?
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: Is Ball an incredible running back?
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: Their offense is good.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: I don't think their defense is that good.
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: They're gonna get caught here soon.
- 11:53SPEAKER_02: Just like we were when we loved Trinidad Shamless, who's so awesome, and we loved Ole Miss just two weeks ago.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: They're gonna fall back down and come back to Earth real, real soon.
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: I'm going for it.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: Put me down for a punt.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: I'm feeling stodgy.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: I'm punting.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: And so here's what's gonna happen.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: They're gonna beat Missouri by a little bit this this week.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: They're gonna beat South Carolina by a lot.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: They're going to go to Texas and beat them too.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Florida Gators are for real.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: They are about to be 7-0 when they go to Georgia and lose.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: Now, is that Florida Georgia is that a neutral site game?
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: It's a neutral cider, but apparently it's not in Jacksonville.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: It's a neutral cider, but look, somebody's gonna look it up.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: It's not in us usually in Jacksonville, the world's largest outdoor cocktail party.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: I think it got moved to Atlanta.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: I think it's in the I think it's in the Mercedes-Benz dome.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: But don't pull it.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: It is, you're right.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: That's in Atlanta, which is kind of backyard.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: Oh wait.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: But I'm gonna say, I'm gonna say they're for real.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: I love what they got in their in the where it counts for a football team, Jaden Ball, the rushing game.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: If he can keep rushing for 150, that by itself puts them in or above every game until they get to Georgia.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: I don't think he's going over one 39 this week.
- 13:19SPEAKER_02: What was the quick six?
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, under.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: He's under.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: Under.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: No, Florida's for real.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: Okay, good stuff.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: Last one.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: This one's a stretch, even for me.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: This is this is fourth and 16, deep in your own end zone.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: Miami is going to lose three games.
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: Wake Forest was the canary in the coal mine.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: Much like the Florida game, Florida Gators, they Miami quietly has a lucky stretch as well at Clemson, three and one.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Versus Florida State.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: Florida State, Miami is one of the craziest rivalries in the history of college football.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: Anyone who's old timer knows wide right, all those close games, there's a lot of voodoo in that matchup.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: Pitt might be the second best team in the ACC.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: North Carolina might be one of the better defenses in the ACC at Notre Dame versus Duke.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: Duke could challenge for the win.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: And then Virginia Tech, who we also think is good.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: Miami has some real losable games, and they have a coach who, as much as we think has really fixed these game day jitters, I'm not sold.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: Mario Christopher lays an egg every now and then.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: Miami is going to lose three games this season.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: Punch or go for it.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: I have one clarifying question, if I may ask.
- 14:34SPEAKER_02: Do the playoffs count, or are we just talking about the regular season?
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: Just regular season.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: And the ACC championship before the playoffs.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: They will lose three games before the playoffs.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: I gotta punt.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I gotta rip the band-aid off and punt here.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: They are gonna have no problem with Clemson, Florida State.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: And now we're looking at Pitt.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: They will lose at Notre Dame and Duke, Virginia Tech.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: So do they lose two out of three?
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: Pitt, Virginia Tech, and Duke.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: They don't.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: They're gonna they're gonna end with two losses, though, just like they did last year, with a really excellent team with a lot of NFL talent on the defensive line, and Carson Beck playing really good football and going to the national championship.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: They still lost two games, Louisville and SMU last year, and did not play for the ACC championship.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: So that's gonna happen again this year.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: But do they lose three, Mike?
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: Uh punt.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: If they lose two, they probably won't make the ACC championships.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: It's the thing.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: So yeah, so that so that would make this that would make this even harder to hit at that point as well.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: Because that would mean three regular season losses the only way to do it.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: So that's tough.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: You know what?
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: You can't play this game and not be too risky.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna be risky on this one.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna be a Sheridan Yellow Jacket, led by legendary high school coach Kevin Kelly, and I'm gonna go for it on all four downs this time.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: Let's go for it.
- 16:05SPEAKER_02: They're gonna lose.
- 16:06SPEAKER_02: They're gonna lose to Duke.
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: They're definitely gonna lose.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: Am I blowing my mind for a second?
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: They're gonna lose to Notre Dame.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:12SPEAKER_02: They're gonna lose to Duke.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: They're gonna lose to Virginia Tech.
- 16:14SPEAKER_02: If they make the A6C championship, they're gonna lose.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: That's three in a row.
- 16:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:19SPEAKER_02: Dude, they're done.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: Done.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: So I'm going for it.
- 16:22SPEAKER_02: And then literally go on an onside kick if you got a fifth one.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: I love that for you.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: I'm actually gonna punt on this one.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: This was too much.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: This is too much for musical patrician.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: You really gotta squint.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: You really gotta squint.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: They're gonna be double-digit favorites in Clemson, Florida State, UNC, Boston College.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: So you're talking about three games, Duke, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame that probably have pit.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: It's really, it's not much.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: And they truly are excellent.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: They have a Heisman receiver, a Heisman quarterback.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: They've got very talented secondary, very talented receivers.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: So I don't see it, but crazier things have happened than Miami falling apart when they shouldn't.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Miami has lost to worse teams than them plenty of time throughout their history.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: So this could be another thing that happened in 2026.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: But I'm gonna punt on as well.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: All right, good stuff.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: That's all we got tonight.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: Just a quick little pun or go for it.

- 17:15SPEAKER_01: If you have opinions about Oklahoma making a run, Dylan Riola being washed, the Florida Gators being legit running the table, Miami gonna be a six and six bowl team, whatever.
