- 0:00Speaker 1: Solana is starting to dominate the r Toba scene and
- 0:02Speaker 1: there's many reasons why. Today we're going to have a
- 0:04Speaker 1: special guest that will kind of break this down for you,
- 0:06Speaker 1: so don't miss it. I want to, of course thank
- 0:08Speaker 1: our sponsor today and that is Tangum. And this, of
- 0:11Speaker 1: course is where you can get into self cust see
- 0:13Speaker 1: and you guys have seen this wallet out there for
- 0:15Speaker 1: quite some time. We've had it on the channel almost forever,
- 0:18Speaker 1: but it is the perfect way to get into self custody.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I have to do is jump over to tantum dot com.
- 0:23Speaker 1: You guys can get started over there. They've got a
- 0:25Speaker 1: little bit of a discount always brewing in ours stacks
- 0:28Speaker 1: on top of that, so use our code down below.
- 0:32Speaker 1: You guys can get started and get into self custy
- 0:35Speaker 1: if you're not already doing it. Very easy to use
- 0:37Speaker 1: and very secure in terms of in it times like this.
- 0:40Speaker 1: That's an important one, all right. So I want to
- 0:42Speaker 1: bring on TWAM coming in from Collector Crypt to kind
- 0:45Speaker 1: of break down some of these issues around RWA's TWAM.
- 0:48Speaker 2: How are you.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Doing just fine?
- 0:50Speaker 4: Today's beautiful day here in California.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Maybe some of our people don't know who collector Crip is.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Let me just kind of start there so we can
- 0:58Speaker 1: get going in and why this is so important to
- 1:00Speaker 1: RBA's give us kind of a quick rundown on it.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Sure.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Collector crypt is a novel project built on blockchain, specifically
- 1:09Speaker 4: on Salona, And what we do is we tokenize real
- 1:12Speaker 4: world assets. And the idea is that by putting real
- 1:15Speaker 4: world assets on chain, you immediately solve a lot of
- 1:19Speaker 4: friction and pain points that exist trading other real world assets.
- 1:23Speaker 4: So in the real world, I guess, and the idea
- 1:26Speaker 4: is that if you can trade, you know, beyond geographical borders,
- 1:30Speaker 4: you can settle your transactions instantly, and you can do
- 1:33Speaker 4: it in a trustless, permissionless way, you could significantly improve
- 1:37Speaker 4: on the friction that collectors like myself have when we
- 1:41Speaker 4: deal with eBay and some of the marketplaces like that.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Right, And I think this is one of the things
- 1:46Speaker 1: that when you look at real world assets and crypto
- 1:51Speaker 1: and blockchain, it seems like this was almost meant for this.
- 1:54Speaker 1: If you just look at tokenized commodities right now, you
- 1:57Speaker 1: can kind of see we are talking about it explosion
- 2:01Speaker 1: that is currently underway centered some around gold. But I
- 2:04Speaker 1: anticipate we'll probably see something like Pokemon cards on this
- 2:08Speaker 1: very soon. Being able to understand where that market is
- 2:11Speaker 1: heading and within that token is is gold versus like Pokemon?
- 2:15Speaker 1: And do you think Pokemon wants available to something that's
- 2:19Speaker 1: tracking This would grow faster than what we've seen here
- 2:21Speaker 1: with early stage r TOBA is like gold.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I think you know gold. You've been able to
- 2:26Speaker 4: trade gold for your brokerage house, and you know in
- 2:30Speaker 4: many different formats for decades. You know, it's a commodity.
- 2:34Speaker 4: It's been traded a lot. You can buy and sell futures,
- 2:36Speaker 4: you can buy and sell gold ETPs. You could get
- 2:39Speaker 4: exposure to gold through mining companies. The same is not
- 2:42Speaker 4: true at all for you know, trading card collectibles. So
- 2:46Speaker 4: if you take a look at Pokemon specifically over the
- 2:49Speaker 4: last twenty five thirty years, it is outperformed at nearly
- 2:52Speaker 4: every single other asset class that exists on the face
- 2:55Speaker 4: of this earth. You know the hardest part about it,
- 2:57Speaker 4: it's very difficult to get institutional exposure to Pokemon cards.
- 3:01Speaker 4: So bringing them on chain, being able to put them
- 3:04Speaker 4: in a vault, have the custody and trust available very
- 3:08Speaker 4: similar to like how you have with stocks with your
- 3:11Speaker 4: depository trust company, you have the Pokemon cards in your vault,
- 3:15Speaker 4: and now you can you know, create new financial instruments
- 3:19Speaker 4: around it. So we're very excited and we definitely think
- 3:21Speaker 4: this unlock is going to make you know, trading cards
- 3:24Speaker 4: more accessible to not typical trading card investors.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yeah, so with everything that's happening in DC around Clarity,
- 3:32Speaker 1: would that have any Clarity act? Would that have any
- 3:35Speaker 1: implication on your business?
- 3:37Speaker 4: It has a lot of implication on our cards token,
- 3:40Speaker 4: so our collector crypt does have a token that you
- 3:42Speaker 4: can trade on Solana. But you know, Pokemon even Denzler
- 3:46Speaker 4: said that Pokemon cards are not security so Clarity won't
- 3:49Speaker 4: have an impact on being able to trade Pokemon cards.
- 3:52Speaker 4: It certainly will have an impact on our platform though.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Yeah, we've talked about this before. Other things that make
- 3:57Speaker 1: me believe that we are in maybe a next generation
- 4:01Speaker 1: era for collectors is what's happening in Japan. You look
- 4:05Speaker 1: at Japan right here moving to regulate Pokemon trading cards.
- 4:09Speaker 2: This is going to be huge.
- 4:10Speaker 1: And of course, granted Japan has been making so many
- 4:14Speaker 1: moves here when it comes to crypto, this seems like
- 4:16Speaker 1: a natural evolution for that. What do you expect out
- 4:19Speaker 1: of this? Do you think it's going to really open
- 4:21Speaker 1: up the market opportunity?
- 4:23Speaker 4: I think a lot of what's happening because Pokemon cards,
- 4:26Speaker 4: you know, they're they're literally worth more than their weight
- 4:29Speaker 4: in gold. They become a financial instrument, and they're used
- 4:33Speaker 4: in kind of unsavory settings in many cases, and they're
- 4:36Speaker 4: also being targeted by a criminal enterprise. So I think
- 4:40Speaker 4: it's a very good move by Japan to come in
- 4:42Speaker 4: and start to pass regulation to protect consumers and to
- 4:46Speaker 4: protect the you know, beneficial trade in the pokemon ecosystem.
- 4:52Speaker 3: And I you knows, as with everything.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Related to to Pokemon cards, Japan was one of the
- 4:57Speaker 4: first to you know, pass regulation about how how you know,
- 5:01Speaker 4: these these kind of Pokemon boxes and products should be
- 5:04Speaker 4: constructed and all of this to basically protect consumers, and
- 5:08Speaker 4: we're totally behind that.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Well, they're even going to the level of now getting
- 5:14Speaker 1: facial recognition to to block resellers and scalping, which kind
- 5:18Speaker 1: of surprise. I mean, this means that it's super serious.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And of course you've got massive demand you know, in
- 5:24Speaker 1: this market as well. When you look at the what
- 5:28Speaker 1: you guys are doing with the CARDS token and the
- 5:30Speaker 1: potential of something like an IPO.
- 5:33Speaker 2: You know, I'm just in general when you kind.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Of look at this project versus things like token and equity,
- 5:39Speaker 1: which is kind of in libo right now, how would
- 5:42Speaker 1: that play out for you guys in terms of how
- 5:45Speaker 1: you're structured today.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Yeah, so we're kind of in a very i'd say
- 5:49Speaker 4: we're in limbo right we We've been waiting for regulation
- 5:53Speaker 4: to pass surrounding you know, how the SEC is going
- 5:57Speaker 4: to treat tokens. You know, I'll say, just complete disclosure,
- 6:01Speaker 4: not not financial advice. I'm playing a little kid's toy
- 6:04Speaker 4: sandbox outside. I would love to be able to, you know,
- 6:09Speaker 4: legally attribute value to the token in a way that
- 6:13Speaker 4: we are so used to and accustomed with, you know,
- 6:16Speaker 4: publicly traded securities. But I can't do that yet. So
- 6:20Speaker 4: what I can do on my side is I can,
- 6:22Speaker 4: you know, treat it like it is equity in everything
- 6:25Speaker 4: that we do in all of our business dealings. But
- 6:27Speaker 4: I can't legally go out and say, hey, this is equity. Right,
- 6:30Speaker 4: So it's currently in my sandbox with my kids plastic
- 6:34Speaker 4: toys outside.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Do you think cards is the token is kind of
- 6:40Speaker 1: the ultimate Japanese exposure. I guess if you think about
- 6:43Speaker 1: it in terms of how that market is responding to this, I.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Think the cards token, you know, let's let's assume if
- 6:50Speaker 4: we were treating it like equity. I think it's very
- 6:55Speaker 4: efficient and it's a very pure way to gain exposure
- 6:59Speaker 4: to the trading card market because not only does the
- 7:02Speaker 4: treasury of Collector crypt own all of the cards on
- 7:05Speaker 4: the COLLECTORPT platform, all of the revenues from our protocols
- 7:09Speaker 4: also get attributed to our token foundation and treasury. So
- 7:13Speaker 4: if this is a space that you are bulletsh on
- 7:16Speaker 4: for the next ten to twenty years, we're trying to
- 7:19Speaker 4: make cards token the pure representation of that market data.
- 7:23Speaker 1: So okay, so there's a lot happening in this space
- 7:26Speaker 1: right now that is around getting cards graded. My son
- 7:31Speaker 1: and I we kind of collect pokemons. We're looking at
- 7:34Speaker 1: trying to get graded. That's a big problem. In many cases,
- 7:37Speaker 1: it kind of just defaults you back into the market
- 7:38Speaker 1: to try to find or buy a graded card. And
- 7:42Speaker 1: I look at you know, if you look at the
- 7:43Speaker 1: PSA vault and how it works.
- 7:45Speaker 2: This, of course is the big partnership with eBay.
- 7:47Speaker 1: How can first of all, how can you guys compete
- 7:50Speaker 1: with this because you kind of have a similar service,
- 7:52Speaker 1: but it's a little different.
- 7:53Speaker 4: The different you know, complexity between all of these companies
- 7:58Speaker 4: on the top level, these mega core operations that interact
- 8:01Speaker 4: and trading cards. It's incredibly complex, and you know, I'd
- 8:04Speaker 4: love to maybe write an article or something about it
- 8:07Speaker 4: one day. But so through eBay you could buy a
- 8:10Speaker 4: raw card and have it graded at PSA.
- 8:13Speaker 3: That's one thing.
- 8:15Speaker 4: PSA actually acquired eBay's vaulting facilities, So PSA Vault today
- 8:20Speaker 4: was eBay Vault several years ago. PSA interacts directly with
- 8:25Speaker 4: GameStop for their GameStop power packs. If you remember, game
- 8:29Speaker 4: Stop just tried to do a hostile takeover of eBay, right,
- 8:32Speaker 4: so that you have a bunch of really big, you know,
- 8:35Speaker 4: giants out there floating and you know, they're kind of
- 8:38Speaker 4: like supporting each other and shaking hands while at the
- 8:40Speaker 4: same time they're trying to stab each other in the back.
- 8:43Speaker 4: And so it's a very interesting thing from my perspective
- 8:46Speaker 4: to kind of see happen. And what we are doing
- 8:49Speaker 4: is we're trying to build a novel kind of infrastructure
- 8:52Speaker 4: to novel ecosystem to say, you know, hey, guys, take
- 8:56Speaker 4: a look at this. Maybe this is a way to
- 8:58Speaker 4: solve a lot of these kind of issues that you
- 9:00Speaker 4: guys are fighting over here. And you know, we could
- 9:03Speaker 4: get to a place where we're all able to transact
- 9:06Speaker 4: and interact on the same level, which which I think
- 9:08Speaker 4: it would be a brilliant future because that's going to
- 9:11Speaker 4: put the people who are buying and selling trading cards
- 9:14Speaker 4: as the most important piece.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and that's going to be I think for
- 9:18Speaker 1: anything to grow like this, I think you've got to
- 9:20Speaker 1: have that community. We've seen it in the you know,
- 9:23Speaker 1: in the crypto space in a big way. It's how
- 9:25Speaker 1: tokens take off. It's how some of the blue chips
- 9:27Speaker 1: have become the blue chips, including Solana. When you look
- 9:31Speaker 1: at CC cards overall, will they ever be on eBay?
- 9:35Speaker 2: Do you think?
- 9:36Speaker 3: A lot of him are on eBay?
- 9:38Speaker 4: So our users, you know, sometimes they find a great
- 9:41Speaker 4: deal on our platform and they want to try to
- 9:43Speaker 4: sell that on eBay or can sign it on eBay.
- 9:45Speaker 4: So a lot of our cards do make it onto eBay.
- 9:48Speaker 4: And that's something that we're also working towards as well.
- 9:50Speaker 4: One of our competitors allows you to list cards directly
- 9:53Speaker 4: on eBay. I think that's really interesting. I'm not too
- 9:56Speaker 4: interested in the thirteen percent fee at eBay charges or
- 9:59Speaker 4: the fraud that comes with and so I think, you know,
- 10:02Speaker 4: there's probably you know, some work that needs to be
- 10:05Speaker 4: done on that direct mechanism, and yeah, we're chatting with
- 10:07Speaker 4: eBay about all of that. I think there is a
- 10:10Speaker 4: big opportunity because the you know, when we talk about blockchain,
- 10:14Speaker 4: we talk about permissionless, we talk about instant settlement, we
- 10:18Speaker 4: talk about cross border transactions. We talk about you know,
- 10:22Speaker 4: no middlemen and no fees and you control your own
- 10:24Speaker 4: wallet and you control your own destiny. I think all
- 10:27Speaker 4: of those kind of founding principles and advantages of blockchain
- 10:31Speaker 4: will apply to collectibles. I think trading cards are literally
- 10:35Speaker 4: the right orange at the bottom of the tree. The
- 10:38Speaker 4: tree is full of oranges. And you know, it's not
- 10:43Speaker 4: just the tree, there's a whole orchard full of a
- 10:45Speaker 4: ton of different things that can be tokenized. And you know,
- 10:49Speaker 4: I really believe that we are kind of the spear
- 10:52Speaker 4: point of bringing commerce and bringing trade onto blockchain, and
- 10:56Speaker 4: we don't view ourselves, you know, today this is what
- 10:59Speaker 4: we are but five years from now. We are thinking
- 11:02Speaker 4: about ourselves like the Amazon fulfillment engine of Web three.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Any brand looking to drop a product, anybody looking to
- 11:12Speaker 4: sell their collectibles or bi collectibles, trade, you know, mint,
- 11:16Speaker 4: some hats, you know, whatever it is, we want you
- 11:20Speaker 4: to be able to do it through our platform, which
- 11:22Speaker 4: will allow this kind of all these advantages to blockchain
- 11:25Speaker 4: to to permeate through noncrypto audiences.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Is there anything thomb right now that you guys can
- 11:31Speaker 1: do with other, you know, assets other than a Pokemon
- 11:35Speaker 1: card or do you have like luxury items.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I'm thinking watches. You could even get into handbags, all
- 11:41Speaker 2: sorts of things.
- 11:42Speaker 1: It doesn't have the kind of community driver, but it
- 11:44Speaker 1: has a very isolated, passionate user base, which is usually
- 11:48Speaker 1: what drive these collectible areas.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Anyway, are you guys doing anything in those areas?
- 11:52Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely so. We have a partnership with comicbook dot Com.
- 11:56Speaker 4: They've stood up a comic book vending machine just like ours.
- 12:00Speaker 4: We had a good special for the World Cup on
- 12:03Speaker 4: the day of the World Cup finals. Anybody who opened
- 12:06Speaker 4: up our soccer vending machine, if they hit an epic
- 12:11Speaker 4: on that soccer vending machine, we gave them an actual
- 12:14Speaker 4: FIFA official ball. So these balls are stored in our
- 12:17Speaker 4: vaulting facility in Montana, and sixty five people got the
- 12:21Speaker 4: ball on that day and we you know, they those
- 12:24Speaker 4: balls are now tokenized on Solana and people can ship
- 12:27Speaker 4: them out. So you know, we've done a lot of merch.
- 12:30Speaker 4: We've done jerseys, We've done promotional cards for companies like
- 12:34Speaker 4: you know, Vibes, which is you know, OCG, and you know,
- 12:40Speaker 4: you could just imagine whatever else people would like to
- 12:43Speaker 4: bring on chain. We have the vaulting facility and the
- 12:45Speaker 4: logistics infrastructure to support.
- 12:48Speaker 1: I'm looking at a few things here with Solona because
- 12:50Speaker 1: you're mentioning against Solana ready cards of course going out
- 12:54Speaker 1: now with Collectible's platform directly integrated into the PSA vault,
- 12:57Speaker 1: so that means we can continue to see more growth
- 13:01Speaker 1: on Solana, which only gets into more collectibles because we've
- 13:05Speaker 1: already seen just a whole slew of offerings within this
- 13:08Speaker 1: right now. And to your point that you just mentioned
- 13:11Speaker 1: is we're going to see this across all sorts of things,
- 13:13Speaker 1: so the opportunity is pretty big here. Do you think
- 13:16Speaker 1: that's going to take a long time? I mean, Pokemon
- 13:18Speaker 1: seems to be the tip of the spear on most
- 13:22Speaker 1: of this. But yet at the same time we're having
- 13:24Speaker 1: all these problems around grading, the backlog, the issue of
- 13:28Speaker 1: being able to just to get to a PSA level.
- 13:31Speaker 1: How how long do you think it takes before this
- 13:33Speaker 1: market really takes off.
- 13:34Speaker 4: I think that's a really good question, and I think
- 13:37Speaker 4: it's it's more determined by the users on Solana.
- 13:42Speaker 3: You know, right now, you know.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Crypto is in a pretty nasty bear market, and you know,
- 13:48Speaker 4: there isn't much reason for non crypto users to come
- 13:51Speaker 4: in and say, hey, I'm excited about what's happening here.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Let's go and download the wallet and try some stuff
- 13:56Speaker 4: out right. And also there's a lot of overlap between
- 14:01Speaker 4: people who were, you know, previously trading NFTs because NFTs
- 14:05Speaker 4: are digital collectibles, you know, Pokemon card you could call
- 14:09Speaker 4: them cardboard collectibles, right, So there's a lot of overlap
- 14:13Speaker 4: between those. There's a lot of you know, age demographic
- 14:16Speaker 4: overlap as well, So I think it's going to take
- 14:18Speaker 4: a lot so, you know, trading cards and pokemon A
- 14:21Speaker 4: one piece in particular, we're kind of like the immaculate fit,
- 14:25Speaker 4: you know, that fit incredibly well with the current demographic
- 14:28Speaker 4: on Solana and crypto in general, when we move into
- 14:31Speaker 4: other asset classes, this is going to require a little
- 14:34Speaker 4: bit more effort to onboard users to Solana or in contrast,
- 14:40Speaker 4: to to build the apps in such a way that
- 14:43Speaker 4: people that are non crypto don't even realize that they're using.
- 14:46Speaker 2: A non chain pook exactly.
- 14:47Speaker 4: And the ladder ladder is the approach that we're following.
- 14:51Speaker 4: So we're going to be launching a pretty cool platform
- 14:54Speaker 4: here in a couple of months that does just that.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Speaking of that, and of course we've got PSA right
- 15:00Speaker 1: now to as you can see the backlog track or
- 15:01Speaker 1: this for you guys that don't know, when you try
- 15:04Speaker 1: to get your card graded, normally, it used to take
- 15:06Speaker 1: not long at all. It was fairly inexpensive. That of course,
- 15:10Speaker 1: has changed a lot with what we're seeing around tokenized
- 15:14Speaker 1: opportunities here and the backlog right now, versus what you
- 15:18Speaker 1: guys are doing with the CC business, why not just
- 15:20Speaker 1: acquire a grading company something like you know this one
- 15:24Speaker 1: right here, this one's down in Miami, AGS.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Why not go with a direction like that.
- 15:29Speaker 4: So the thing is, you know, there are a lot
- 15:33Speaker 4: of grading companies and some of them are.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Actually pretty good.
- 15:37Speaker 4: But what people want is they want to be able
- 15:39Speaker 4: to have you know, maximum liquidity, right. They want to
- 15:43Speaker 4: be able to take something that. You know, if you're
- 15:45Speaker 4: going to buy and sell something for a fair price,
- 15:48Speaker 4: you want to be able to buy that. You want
- 15:50Speaker 4: to be able to go and maybe a week later
- 15:52Speaker 4: sell it to somebody else and not have to hunt
- 15:54Speaker 4: for somebody who's willing to buy kind of a non
- 15:58Speaker 4: you know, top brand. Like even between the top three
- 16:02Speaker 4: grading companies, which are PSA, BGS, and CGC, you know,
- 16:07Speaker 4: there are preferences between them. You Know, people might say, Okay,
- 16:11Speaker 4: I'm a big Pokemon collector, I only collect PSA ten cards,
- 16:15Speaker 4: and guess what, that individual is not in the market
- 16:18Speaker 4: to buy your AGS lab, even if it was done
- 16:20Speaker 4: in a good way. So I think there are significant
- 16:25Speaker 4: competitive modes that PSA has. I think it's you know,
- 16:29Speaker 4: grading cards when, especially when you have a backlog of
- 16:31Speaker 4: twelve million cards, that's incredibly difficult to overcome, especially with
- 16:36Speaker 4: the amount of submissions they're getting and the heat behind
- 16:39Speaker 4: the market. So I personally, I do not think the
- 16:44Speaker 4: answer is, hey, let's let's go to a tier two
- 16:47Speaker 4: or Tier three grading company, and that's going to make
- 16:49Speaker 4: the difference because if you get a card that's worth
- 16:53Speaker 4: you know, three thousand dollars in a PSA ten, you're
- 16:56Speaker 4: not going to submit it to AGS and get back
- 16:59Speaker 4: ato thousand dollars card. You're going to wait six to
- 17:02Speaker 4: twelve months to get it from PSA because probably the
- 17:05Speaker 4: value of the card is going to go up in
- 17:06Speaker 4: that period of time anyway. So just consumer behavior make
- 17:10Speaker 4: compounds this issue. Where I think there could be a
- 17:14Speaker 4: significant benefit in kind of improving this is to build
- 17:19Speaker 4: better tools, like you mentioned AI grading in the pre
- 17:23Speaker 4: show discussion. And I think if you were to, for example,
- 17:26Speaker 4: let's say you have a five hundred cards you want
- 17:28Speaker 4: to submit, if you're able to go and look at
- 17:30Speaker 4: those five hundred cards and say, oh, these two hundred
- 17:34Speaker 4: cards will definitely not get a PSA ten, right, you
- 17:37Speaker 4: shouldn't submit those. Now you could submit the ones that
- 17:40Speaker 4: are most likely to get the PSA ten certification, which
- 17:44Speaker 4: is I think a very elegant way to solve this issue.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Do you think there's just a lot in the pipe
- 17:50Speaker 1: right now that are is kind of card grading request
- 17:54Speaker 1: that should not be done and these that's what's clogging
- 17:57Speaker 1: this system up.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, well that answers that question.
- 18:02Speaker 1: What about the successful level of what Jupiter did with
- 18:06Speaker 1: the gotcha cards? Obviously we've showcased this before Jupiter also
- 18:10Speaker 1: in the Salona ecosystem.
- 18:12Speaker 2: What did you think about that?
- 18:14Speaker 4: I loved it when they launched this product using our engine.
- 18:19Speaker 4: You know, it was a really good demonstration that, you know,
- 18:24Speaker 4: platforms that have massive distribution like Jupiter can really go
- 18:28Speaker 4: out and create new markets and new opportunities. I think
- 18:31Speaker 4: a lot of people who are looking at our platform
- 18:34Speaker 4: when we did that, they were basically saying, well, oh man,
- 18:37Speaker 4: are you just going to send collector Crypt users over
- 18:40Speaker 4: to Jupiter, And we, in fact saw the opposite. We
- 18:43Speaker 4: saw about ninety percent of people that were opening up
- 18:47Speaker 4: packs on the Jupiter platform were new to the ecosystem,
- 18:50Speaker 4: which was just really amazing to me that there was
- 18:54Speaker 4: so much depth there in the Jupiter user base. You know,
- 18:58Speaker 4: it's just a real testament to how all that brand is.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Yeah, so you were you a little surprised then overall?
- 19:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, honestly I was. I was thinking about
- 19:07Speaker 4: half of Jupiter's users we're going to be existing collector
- 19:09Speaker 4: Crypt users and I was totally I was totally shocked that,
- 19:14Speaker 4: you know, they brought so many new users to the ecosystem,
- 19:17Speaker 4: which you know is leading us to double down on
- 19:19Speaker 4: the narrative of being able to open up our APIs
- 19:22Speaker 4: and our infrastructure to partners.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely opens up. Well, I mean, you think about it.
- 19:26Speaker 1: The sometimes you can get too centered in one area,
- 19:30Speaker 1: which where where collectors could be versus the fact that
- 19:33Speaker 1: there are collectors in all different you know, sectors out
- 19:36Speaker 1: there in terms of the opportunity for distribution.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Speaking of distribution, you.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Got to look at Disney what they did, of course,
- 19:43Speaker 1: launching Disney Locano trading game.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Why not? Why not Locana?
- 19:47Speaker 4: Yet we're we're buying Lorcana as we speak. It's it's emerging,
- 19:52Speaker 4: you know. You know, people are kind of worried about
- 19:54Speaker 4: like what happens to Pokemon after the thirtieth anniversary goes through.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Yeah, and you know, to be frank people, it's not
- 20:01Speaker 3: like people are.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Going to say, Okay, I'm going to sell my Pokemon
- 20:04Speaker 4: and okay, now it's time to buy s and P
- 20:07Speaker 4: five hundred index fund.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Right.
- 20:08Speaker 4: These are people who've built their lives, people who are
- 20:11Speaker 4: trading these things and collecting them. They've built their lives,
- 20:15Speaker 4: their friend networks, their relationships, a lot of their software
- 20:18Speaker 4: and tools around you know, buying and selling trading cards.
- 20:21Speaker 4: So when they're moving out of Pokemon, chances are they're
- 20:24Speaker 4: moving into something else. And we saw that last year
- 20:28Speaker 4: with Pokemon and One Piece, Right, So if you take
- 20:31Speaker 4: a look at the prices of Pokemon cards in September
- 20:35Speaker 4: last year, it surged around the time when Collector crypt
- 20:38Speaker 4: launched our cards token. There was a lot of buying
- 20:41Speaker 4: and a lot of excitement. But then, you know, the
- 20:43Speaker 4: Pokemon market started to slide, and right as it was sliding,
- 20:47Speaker 4: you saw One Piece.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Start to pick up.
- 20:48Speaker 4: So there is It's not like there's tremendous that there
- 20:51Speaker 4: is correlation between these different assets, but there is a
- 20:55Speaker 4: lot of opportunities to kind of switch from one asset
- 20:58Speaker 4: to another. And I guess what block changes makes that
- 21:01Speaker 4: super easy.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I think backing that up would be what happened
- 21:04Speaker 1: with Power World. You know, we've shown Powerworld on our
- 21:07Speaker 1: show for multiple years ago back when the last time
- 21:11Speaker 1: it popped, if you go back, that was twenty twenty
- 21:13Speaker 1: four when it kind of exploded onto the scene. If
- 21:16Speaker 1: you guys go back and just search power World and
- 21:18Speaker 1: you'll see some videos that we've done on it kind
- 21:20Speaker 1: of died, and now the market seems to be reasurgens
- 21:25Speaker 1: again and even more so than what it was back
- 21:27Speaker 1: in twenty twenty four. So I think it's exactly what
- 21:30Speaker 1: you're talking about there is there's some different opportunities here
- 21:34Speaker 1: that's starting to open up in terms of thoughts on
- 21:37Speaker 1: RBA based games. Looking at Powerworld and others that will
- 21:42Speaker 1: be coming. What are your thoughts going forward from here?
- 21:46Speaker 4: So when you say RWA based games, do you mean
- 21:50Speaker 4: specifically like games that will incorporate RWAs that are redeemable
- 21:55Speaker 4: for their physical kind of parts. I personally think there's
- 22:00Speaker 4: just a massive opportunity in that space. I think if
- 22:04Speaker 4: you take a look back to two thousand and you know,
- 22:07Speaker 4: three or four, you take a look at Magic Arena. Yeah,
- 22:12Speaker 4: and Magic you know, it was actually called Magic the
- 22:16Speaker 4: Gathering Online MTGO, and they had this system where you
- 22:20Speaker 4: can go and buy packs online and if you were
- 22:23Speaker 4: to collect a whole set of those packs, you could
- 22:26Speaker 4: redeem that whole set. And this was way back before
- 22:28Speaker 4: blockchain even existed. And so I've always been a huge
- 22:32Speaker 4: fan of this because you could allow people to go
- 22:35Speaker 4: in and in a much more efficient way, build their decks,
- 22:38Speaker 4: you know, optimize their collection, meet friends, and do this
- 22:42Speaker 4: kind of stuff online, and then you could ship out
- 22:45Speaker 4: and redeem.
- 22:45Speaker 3: The physical cards.
- 22:46Speaker 4: So I just view this as a beautiful way to
- 22:50Speaker 4: continue increasing presence of TCG, both in the digital and
- 22:55Speaker 4: physical sense.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. Let's talk a little bit about wallets
- 22:59Speaker 1: in general. We're starting to see wallets being developed around
- 23:04Speaker 1: certain brands. Is this something that you guys are considering
- 23:07Speaker 1: in the future.
- 23:08Speaker 4: I don't think we are going to create our own wallet.
- 23:12Speaker 4: What we are focused on doing is integrating our product
- 23:15Speaker 4: with wallets of other platforms. Okay, Wallets are very hard.
- 23:20Speaker 4: I mean, we've seen a lot of wallet hacks. We've
- 23:22Speaker 4: seen a lot of difficulty in switching costs between wallets.
- 23:26Speaker 4: It's very difficult for one wallet to say, hey, I'm
- 23:30Speaker 4: different than another wallet for the following reasons and so like,
- 23:33Speaker 4: it's a hard space to be and there's established market leaders,
- 23:36Speaker 4: and we just want to work with the best.
- 23:38Speaker 1: So even other platforms out there. You could even go
- 23:41Speaker 1: into robin Hood, which is going to still allow what
- 23:44Speaker 1: we think will be allow allowing you to add eventually
- 23:47Speaker 1: Pokemon cards into you know, wallets like that. So I
- 23:51Speaker 1: think to your point is you're going to see some
- 23:53Speaker 1: majors out there kind of going in this direction.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Let's talk about Beusy a little bit.
- 23:58Speaker 1: We've had them on the show before their pivot to Solana.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Does this prove that Solana, the Salona thesis is kind
- 24:05Speaker 1: of set up for anything that is geared toward, especially
- 24:08Speaker 1: the collector community.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:10Speaker 4: I mean, you know, we're good friends with the VZ team.
- 24:12Speaker 4: We like their product, we like their take on how
- 24:15Speaker 4: they've designed their machine, and I you know, frankly, I
- 24:19Speaker 4: think Salon is the place to be. Like, you know,
- 24:21Speaker 4: Solana is the best in leading retail chain out there
- 24:25Speaker 4: right now. It doesn't mean that Robinhood in some of
- 24:27Speaker 4: these places won't give them a run for their money,
- 24:30Speaker 4: but I think, you know, we we see a lot
- 24:32Speaker 4: of platforms, not just Besy moving over to Salona, and
- 24:36Speaker 4: I think that's I think that's great for the ecosystem.
- 24:38Speaker 4: And you know, one one thing that I would always
- 24:42Speaker 4: like to say is from a from a UX perspective,
- 24:46Speaker 4: we always tell our friends and competitors that, you know,
- 24:49Speaker 4: we need to figure out standards for how these NFTs
- 24:52Speaker 4: are on chain right, Because if somebody who's not crypto
- 24:56Speaker 4: comes into Solana and they say, hey, I want to
- 24:58Speaker 4: try five different platforms, you know, then you're going to
- 25:01Speaker 4: wind up with five different you know, wallet IDs. You're
- 25:04Speaker 4: going to wind up with five different places you have
- 25:05Speaker 4: to ship cards from. And that's not really the best ux.
- 25:08Speaker 4: So I think one place that these platforms can do
- 25:12Speaker 4: better is coordinating on standards and coordinating on cooperation so
- 25:16Speaker 4: that a non crypto user coming in has the best
- 25:19Speaker 4: user experience that we could deliver.
- 25:21Speaker 1: And we've got this megaburn now happening with Solana. All
- 25:25Speaker 1: of this is happening right now with these s I
- 25:27Speaker 1: M d s, which are some you know, project changes
- 25:30Speaker 1: that are going to change in general. In terms of
- 25:33Speaker 1: this opportunity with Solana, how big of a deal is
- 25:37Speaker 1: this for the collector community?
- 25:39Speaker 2: Do you think this matters at all?
- 25:40Speaker 4: I think the better that Solana does, the better the
- 25:43Speaker 4: collector community un Chain does. And the Salona Foundation and
- 25:48Speaker 4: people on the Salona team that we've met, people that
- 25:51Speaker 4: are part of the ecosystem. You know, a bunch of
- 25:53Speaker 4: bald guys there that you know, know each other at
- 25:56Speaker 4: this point Solana, you know, doing well means that collectibles
- 26:02Speaker 4: are going to do well. It means that we're going
- 26:04Speaker 4: to do well. It means our users are going to
- 26:05Speaker 4: do well. And I'm frankly, you know, I've been in
- 26:09Speaker 4: crypto since twenty thirteen. I've seen so many you know,
- 26:12Speaker 4: alternative layer one chains launch and so many other things,
- 26:15Speaker 4: and that just I think that just distracts people, right.
- 26:18Speaker 4: You know, we we need to as a community say, Okay,
- 26:21Speaker 4: you know this is Salona, this is what Solana does
- 26:24Speaker 4: really well, and let's let's stop standing up.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Here's the Salona killer. Right.
- 26:28Speaker 4: You know at this point that doesn't make sense because
- 26:30Speaker 4: you're just you're you're killing retail adoption, right, So Salana wins.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Let's just move forward there and you know, build and
- 26:40Speaker 4: solidify that ecosystem.
- 26:42Speaker 2: I like that. One's a lot of ways. Let's just
- 26:43Speaker 2: move forward from there. Thomp.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Last question to you on just on power World in general.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Any plans for what power World is doing to be
- 26:52Speaker 1: able to come into what you guys are doing.
- 26:55Speaker 3: That's a that's a great question.
- 26:56Speaker 4: We haven't chatted with the team on that point, but
- 26:58Speaker 4: you know, we've made this to other card game platforms
- 27:03Speaker 4: in the past, and I think, you know, for example,
- 27:06Speaker 4: being able to play in pol World with tokenized and
- 27:09Speaker 4: graded poll World cards would be really cool. And now
- 27:12Speaker 4: that we've seen such a great launch of the Power
- 27:15Speaker 4: World TCG, I think it's it just makes natural sense.
- 27:18Speaker 3: So you know, thanks for reminding me. I'm going to
- 27:20Speaker 3: get Joe on it right away.
- 27:22Speaker 1: There you go, Power World. Hopefully you're watching this and
- 27:25Speaker 1: there's a connection there. Hey, thwom, thanks for coming in today.
- 27:28Speaker 1: We're going to watch this very closely because we're we're
- 27:31Speaker 1: very connected to the RWA space, specifically around the collector community,
- 27:35Speaker 1: because we've watched this kind of grow after really the
- 27:38Speaker 1: last NFT craze in crypto and this may be the
- 27:41Speaker 1: one that sticks. So it's very interesting. So thanks for
- 27:45Speaker 1: coming in today.
- 27:45Speaker 2: We appreciate it.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Yeah, thanks so much, Paul, really appreciate your time in.
