- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: It was curious events day.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: curious events.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: I chose this because of Shantai.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: So the other one seemed quite boring.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: There was world posting.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh, that's so shantai, but it means like mail.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: like, like, post mail, like mail in the letter.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: We're old post, okay.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: No, as not as unlike social media post.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely not thinking M-A-I-L.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, mail.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I didn't choose that one because that would be the opposite of Shantai.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: But Curious of N-Stay is October 9th and it's a data wonder about everything we've ever wondered about.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: So how do you get those little ships into the bottles?
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think they do it like they're flat and they put it in, but you should if you still wonder you should look that up.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: Who figured out how to tie shoelaces?
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: That is curious.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: What is the most recent sign of Bigfoot North America?
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: I seriously doubting where the feedback might come from.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: I definitely do need pick your root new sources wisely.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: Why can't we figure what happened in Roswell?
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: Be inquisitive, be persistent, and be careful.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: Don't forget that all that edge curiosity killed the cat and then the end is that's how this faction brought it back But do be mindful and then it's like but had nine lives, so you're good.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but also curious But also like do judge your new sources Coach please please validate things.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: Please also like anytime anything seems like oh yeah that that news makes sense no go look it up
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: Also, don't just look at headlines or scan things read, use your reading skills like use them.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's very, very important and it's something that's like, I think what I like about cute world, curious day or National Curious Day is like, it's a way to get off of social media and then go curious events day and go look up things, you know, maybe use a library.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: like, I don't know, be curious there too.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, so our winter tour is announced.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: You all announced, well, a while back.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: And if you have your tickets yet, you could, you might be slim pickings.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: So go to opc.me slash tour to see all the incredible cities.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: We are recording this before October 1st.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I actually have no idea where we're going yet.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: We are.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: We're still working all that out, but there's, you know, we got like 25 cities on the docket that we're trying to figure out.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's the goal.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's even bigger and better than we've ever done before and it's only possible because you come to see the events and see each other and hang
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: You know, come meet us and in real life.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of all things.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: And the dog, you know?
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: If you like this podcast, it got to leave a review.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: Share with a friend and listen.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: You got it.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: If you, if you like a show, you got to, like, like, there's things that you have more power than you realize.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: And if you don't attend an event, we don't go back.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's very good.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: Let me like this city.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: So, OPC yummy such tour.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: Also, we're currently in Cambodia for our retreat.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not on the wait list yet, you're going to want to get on that because in January, we were opening up the early bird special for the retreat.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: And only those on the wait list get the early bird option.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to get on the wait list, but you get to pay full price.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: And that's just like, respelling out for you.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: Just to put this out there, we've had a lot of people asking about October 2026.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of people.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: And there is only room for, you know, a limited amount of space.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: As much as we love you.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: And we hate saying no.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to, you know, make sure everybody can join us, but, you know, there's a limited amount.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because to be honest, like we just like the smaller buses, because it means like we could just spend more time with you versus the bigger bus, and it's like not as much time with you, and also the bigger bus means less st- sites to see because the buses don't fit in certain places.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it is, you know, I mean, we'll look, we'll bring the bigger boss if we have the group for the bigger boss, but yeah, we are limited on we can't go through the big temple there's only so much room on the patio.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's your spot quickly by being on the wait list.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and then we're excited.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not October 19th, we're actually going to be going to Singapore.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, for the wait list, people go to lesleylogan.co slash retreats, plural, lesleylogan.co slash retreats.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, on October 19th, we're fired up to be coming to Singapore.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: This is a new thing for us, we were invited.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's a private event, but I just want to put that out there, you know, for you.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: If, if you want to host us coming through, just reach out and we'll see how we can figure it out.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: We actually just came back yesterday when we were recording this from UK.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: And people were, I shared like, oh, we're, we actually are here because people asked.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it wasn't like, we had a studio on our ask.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then we had another studio go, hey, how do I get that up my studio?
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: And then we put the events together.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, we sometimes have to plan years in advance like this particular event was actually planned two years ago.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: But we can do that.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: And we, we actually are the kind of people that don't just show up on your door on an ounce.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: We do need an invitation.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: And so we already talked about winter tour that's coming up in December, then January is going to be the prize journal expo.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's in Huntington Beach.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: If you go to xxll.co slash Pilates journal, you can get your tickets for that.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: I've got a world premiere of a workshop, which is really fun for me because I just like having a space where you can ask whatever question you want about Pilates.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry, there's some other nuggets around that, but like it's really a space for that.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: What is the URL again?
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: xx ll.co slash pilates journal.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we got a new URL shortner yall xx ll.co.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because, you know, it's what they need to do.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: We did that instead of a phone number.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: They still want the phone number.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: The phone number is not going to.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: I still want it.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: We're using our name.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't looked at it.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't looked into if we can have a, like, you know, three window just be it.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: March.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: And Poland, give me a view, we're going to be in Poland again.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so excited to be back in Poland with Karen Frischman.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like kind of amazing.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: You get to learn from the two of us at the same time.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: Which means a bigger bang for your buck.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: XXLL.CO.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: So it's Poland.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: Anyone can go by the way.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: Karen, I speak in English.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that's how we teach and then it's translated into Polish, but you can just come and then Karen and I will drag Brad through Europe all over the Brussels and we are going to be at L studio in Brussels very, very excited about this L L E L's.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, actually it's E L S.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: ELS, ELS, apostrophe, ELS is through.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think it's ELS with the apostrophe because then it's ELS is.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I learned when there's an S you just put the apostrophe on the other side.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, you can go to xxll.co slash porosols to grab your tickets for that.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: And in April, we can't announce this right now.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: So there's something we might have.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be in London.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: There is a POT in London and what I'm doing in London is not yet to be announced because I haven't signed my contract.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to be at the POT in London.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: We're doing something.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to booth.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to be talking about flashcards.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: Come hang out.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: If you've never been to a Pilates on tour, you've got to say a lot of fun.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: They're amazing events.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: They really do a great job with that.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: And we can't wait to be back in London.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: And you can buy day passes for that.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: So cool.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: Love it.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: All right, before you get into this incredible interview with Shantai, we actually had a question.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: And the question was from Pilates Physiologist.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, so there's two people sent in the same question within two weeks.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I like when you read these out loud or just read about that, Rainbow.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so Pilates Physiologist said, how do you look this fresh, flying UK to Australia?
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: I always look dragged through head backwards.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: hedges backwards.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, it hedges.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the hedge backwards.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: My nails are too long.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: I typed it up myself.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: And the next one is Pilates in Hell Pilates asks, how in the hell do you look so fresh and glowing after all of that flying?
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: That is so unfair.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: And let me tell you my secret.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, you want to tell yours, so I love both of these women because of one of them asked it after I did story when we just landed in the UK and we were driving to beef.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: we landed in Edinburgh and we were diving to Dumby.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: And then the other one asked it after I we landed with through security, got through our global entry and we were in the like, baggage and Mary and I did it.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's really funny because for the first one, I actually purposely didn't wear any makeup and just did my brow stuff because we were flying overnight and I knew I'd be trying to sleep.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: And it was like about 30 hours of travel and you don't want to make it.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: And for the second one, we had a whole day flight and I was like, I got to do stories.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: I got to do this.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: I got to have my makeup on.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I am so proud of how amazing my makeup survived.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: The, the, the, at a brought Heathrow Heathrow to LA.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: I did, I will say I looked pretty ragged by the time we did LA to LA last Vegas.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: I was so tired.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't keep my eyes open.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: So it wasn't like I was driving her head backwards.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I was wronged out on the plane home.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like we were, we were asleep before we left the ground.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember taking off.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think we just like, I fell asleep so hard.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: So I will say,
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's really easy on social media to look at someone who, like, and go, oh, they look so great.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: And to be honest, like, in that moment, I caught the right light.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but I will.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: So what here is what I told them both.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: really great skincare.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: You have to have a great skincare routine.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: You must be doing this all the time.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: There isn't any makeup hack you can do that can outdo bad skincare.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like every makeup artist I've ever worked with is like the first step to great makeup is the skincare.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: So find when you like I love the one I use, I don't have a short link for it.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: We have like a long
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't have a social.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have an affiliate for that.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'll tell you what that is.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it's in the sponsors page.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so we'll drop that in there.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: He'll give it to his second.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: So great skin care must must must must do.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: Second, if you are flying long like UK to Australia or the US to Europe, like anything that's 12 hour flight and it's overnight, I highly recommend no makeup because you are going to try and sleep.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: But I do believe in mascara.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: and brow gel.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and I really do believe in it.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: It has changed the life and if you're like, ugh, I over plucked my brows when I was younger.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to, you got a fall strike, you got a fall just that strike is the Instagram account, Christy striker, she's a striker, she's a striker.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: Three eyes, she will, she will teach you how to grow your brows out.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: You guys, she was a client of mine.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: I was a client with hers.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: I have not seen her in years and I'm so proud of what my brows are doing.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: But I hired because what happened, like, your eyebrows and your lashes, like frame your eyes and it can make a tired eye look happier.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: So we don't have affiliates for strike.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: learn from them, they've tons of tutorials.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: To Ranchalash is by Bakeup Beauty.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: Again, no affiliates.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: I can't make any money off of this, but I'm obsessed.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: I buy two sticks of mascara every time I shop with them, because you can get the free shipping.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: So, once you have a good brow, good mascara you like, and a great skincare, you can fly anywhere.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: You also have to drink water.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: You must drink water when you fly.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: You have to drink water when you fly.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: I do not sleep well on most flights, especially the long ones.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: When applies to you ask a question I had not slept at all because the flight sucked so much on the way home, I think I got a little bit of sleep.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: So, so I would love that then when you want to apply makeup like I had to take up on the second one, when you want to apply makeup you you do want to find a makeup line that is easier for you to use so that it doesn't take too long and second that through the day it looks better.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, no affiliate for West Minnesota L.A.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: I have tried multiple times, but I actually love their free concierge program.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: You can get on a call with someone they can pick your colors for you.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: And it is she she's a great.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's a clean beauty line that actually as a day goes on, it kind of just like melton to your skin more.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: So it doesn't streak as a day goes on.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's almost like it's not that it
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, I think I'm also just going to interrupt you and say, I love all of these amazing things that you've been figuring out.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: So this skincare link is xxl.co slash skincare.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, here you go.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: So xxl.co slash skincare and you'll be able to see what Leslie's been using for skincare.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: I was also just going to jump in there and say, I don't know anybody else in the world who prioritizes their sleep the way that you do.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: I wish I could sleep on a plane, but I do prioritize it outside of planes.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: And so, you know, when you're asking like, what is it that you're doing?
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think it is, you know, it is built on this foundation of consistency.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, well, I think all of it is right, but I will say like great skin care, great sleep, drink some water, you be surprised, and also just be a little nicer to yourself, like the fact that you think that you've of course I thought I look like how on the first one, you know what I mean, but like you smile and you look like more awake.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: Find this with sunshine.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: You look more awake like I think we are constantly thinking that we're supposed to look like super models all the time And no one does including super models.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: They look like shit actually most of the time.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: I knew see him outside But they have a confidence in them that they're beautiful people and you have to start liking yourself And you have to start to know that you have so many beautiful features.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: Highlight them and have a great day.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: and have a great day.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: Look, if you have any questions, Leslie, clearly would love to answer those questions.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: Just text us back at 310-905-5534 or you can submit it at beatpod.com slash questions.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's B-E-I-T-P-O-D.com slash questions.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_01]: I also just love the ones.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: You can also leave your wins.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: There too for our Friday episodes.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: And also I think I just get excited when it's like a non-police question because it's like here is all the research I've done.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: I figured it out.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: This is the mascara, you know?
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's talk about Shantay.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: All right, stick around.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: All right, welcome back.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about Shantai co-field.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to say I love Shantai.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: She's amazing, and we actually do know her in real life.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: We had a chance to hang out with her a few times over the years.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: She's just fantastic.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: So Shantai has created this persona called the movement, my stroke, and she's the persona.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's her.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's her.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's a, yes, so it's a persona.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's actually, that's the definition of it.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: So Shantay is known as the movement, my stroke.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: And she's actually a physical therapist by trade and an entrepreneur by choice.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: And she said that on the,
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: the interview and I thought that's a great way to say that.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: A physical therapist by trade, entrepreneur by choice.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: She's based in Southern California and she now focuses on online business coaching, specifically helping health and fitness pros run, build and grow profitable online personal.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: So loving that and she primarily uses Instagram as their quote unquote top of funnel for lead generation and she's just super graded it.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: She's been doing it for a long time She's also the business partner.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_00]: She's business partners with Jill Coleman for a group coaching program that they do together That we would absolutely recommend of course Jill was also our coach if you remember at Jill's been on the pod all the things, but
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: What a fun conversation.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean also I just wanted to say it's he really I just wanted to talk with her So I brought her on the pond.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: Well, she she says this thing that I think is really funny Once she when she's agreeing with you, she says this this oh this I thought like I had just a cheerleading session.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: I was like
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: Amazing, I have any time I'm like doubtful of like the do I know at the fuck I'm talking about I'm just listening to this episode and hair her like compliment the fuck out of me What was one of the things that you loved that I mean aside from how amazing she made me feel about myself So she said that one of the biggest gifts
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: is showing up authentically because that is what you actually give other people permission to do the same.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_01]: So when you show up authentically, you might other people do this and I couldn't believe more.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: I think like when I get to come to a workshop and people are nervous and
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm even nervous because I'm like, oh my god, they paid all this money.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: They travel all this way I hope I don't disappoint them like sure because people might have a different idea of me on like from online stuff I don't know you know what I mean people tell us story about them about somebody and then you meet them But right don't meet your heroes everyone always says.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we'll kiss some of those people suck not me and not shunned But I
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think if you're showing up authentically online, when you met someone in person, then you know what you're going to get.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, that's the goal.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: I, but I will just say like, I always make sure that even I feel nervous, I have to like, if the more authentic I can be to myself, the more everyone of these people in this room will drop the nerves.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: Will, will, will show up and will have a great time with us.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: So it's really, really fun for me.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: So I couldn't agree more.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: And it helps you get out of your own head because sometimes we get in our own head about things and it's like if you are just being your authentic self, it's one so much easier and two other people will be the same and you won't have to worry if people are being really not about you.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: She we also talked about declaring boundaries and priorities.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: and that when you say, like, this is what I do or I'm putting myself first, you model this behavior for others.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like, can she and I just go on a tour together and tell people to prioritize themselves first?
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: I love this, it's so, so good for the people in your life, for the partners in your life, for the friends in your life, like, and I just, I'm just like obsessed with all those things.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I love that.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's important.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's great.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: She also, this is very important.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: She said anything but yourself is unsustainable.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: So like if you're trying to be other people, like it's so unsustainable.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I was going to chime in.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: One of the stories that she told was when we fall these people online and then they quit.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: And they're like actually built this thing and I don't like anything about it and all this stuff.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it's amazing because you can build things with marketing.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: When you do marketing properly, it will build a thing.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: But you need to make sure you like the thing.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: You need to make sure you like the people that you're going to be talking with.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: You know, because otherwise it will be unfaffilling.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that if you are talking about something that you don't believe in,
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: it's not sustainable and that's where this authenticity comes in.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: When you talk about something you're passionate about or you believe in or you really, you know, are wanting to encourage others to tackle and change and do all the things, it comes through, it shines through, right?
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: And also, it allows it for you, you can stand by your word, you know?
- 20:46[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think that... I also think like, it's
- 20:51[SPEAKER_01]: When you're consistent people do see that even if they're not buying your thing right away, like, and it doesn't mean you don't get to pivot or evolve, but I have noticed like people who keep changing this, oh, I'm doing this now I'm doing this now I'm doing this now and they're so different, oh, I'm back to this now I'm like,
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: Are they okay?
- 21:08[SPEAKER_01]: What are they doing?
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so I do think that the what if you are if you are afraid to post on socials or you're afraid to mark your market yourself or put yourself out there.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: Just know that if you're putting your true self on what you believe in out there, it's gonna be so much easier to show up on a hard day.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: And people are gonna truly start to connect with that.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: Well everyone can act with it.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: No, and that's a good thing.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: You don't want everyone to connect
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: I promise you that.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: There are some crazy people out there.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: You don't want them to like your stuff.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: So be your authentic self and it will repel them.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, yeah, and not even in a negative way.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_00]: It just they won't be attracted to it.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I really loved when she was talking about the societal lie that success requires struggle and I found this really intriguing because I I lived this this story of we've talked about this a little bit before but the bootstrapping the solo print or I got to do it on myself.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: Why cousin broke and I can't afford to whatever.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: And it became a story that I told myself, and then what happens is it becomes your M.O.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: It becomes your persona.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, yeah, you tell a story, but also, and you just like it has to be hard all the time.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: It has to be hard all the time, but it's not even that it has to be hard all the time.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's not the story we initially tell ourselves, but it becomes a lived experience that we then adopt.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: And so all of a sudden, you're like, because when you start to delegate, when you do have a team and you start giving things over to the team, such as I'm a teacher.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm teaching 7,000 hours a week.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: You know, all of a sudden, you're not teaching that much anymore, but you've adopted this.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's got to be challenging or we're not moving forward approach.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: you suddenly feel like you're doing it wrong or you're or like something something is wrong you can't you can't figure out what it is.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: But it's because we've built this on this foundation of it's got to be hard for it to be right.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: Well all the I warmer the log teacher like oh my god but if I do it like that then the clients aren't going to because they want to fill burn it's like do you want to teach like that?
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't want to teach like that, stop teaching like that because they educate people on what it is, you're making it hard on yourself and then it's not going to be fun to show up all the time and you're not going to like it and that you're like, oh, but it's got to be hard.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's got to be a struggle and then I'll get to the other side.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: You got to do things you like and success does have obstacles, but it doesn't have to be like you're charging through like Quixand.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, you're, you're not here to be miserable every day and faking this thing, right?
- 23:40[SPEAKER_00]: I just really liked what she said about it and she said, of course, work is hard.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: Well, when it comes to what things that you enjoy doing and the people you enjoy being around, it can still be fun even when you are working hard.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: But the high level effort doesn't have to be like killing yourself to make it.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like the struggle.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think that we jokingly say this struggle is real, but also it doesn't always have to be a struggle every day.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: Correct, and also like I just post about this today on Instagram because multiple times during the two events that we had people that you must be tired.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, oh, I'm not tired.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I might be tired, I'll be tired tonight.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: I might even be a little bit tired tomorrow, but like, I'm not tired right now because I love what I'm doing.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't put anything up here that you could buy, that would exhaust me.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think there's a weird assumption with that, like, wow, you must be tired.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: Means you must be burned out because what you do is so much.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot fathom how you're able to execute it all.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: you know, and still have time for yourself.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: Well, but it goes back to what we said with Chantese earlier, I prioritized myself and I boundaries.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_01]: Big time.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: Big time.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I recognize that like people have kids and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: But like, if you are doing something you love, yes, it'll be hard days, but it doesn't have to be a struggle.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_00]: Well, look, stick around.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to dig into the Beat Action item that Shantay left us right after this.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_00]: Finally, let's talk about those Beat Action items.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_00]: What bold, executable intrinsic or targeted action items can we take away from your combo with Shantay co-field?
- 25:33[SPEAKER_00]: You feel first.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_00]: She said, when starting out or starting something new, she advised if someone chooses to believe in you, believe them.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I just loved this.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: I loved this because this concept of borrowing confidence, I've never thought of it before, I've ever heard of it before, but it's so real.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: This is so brilliant.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's almost insulting if you don't believe the person.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I believe in you.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_00]: I believe that you can do the thing.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, you're right, you're wrong.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to fail, right?
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's like you kind of throwing it back in their face, right?
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I also love, this reframes this whole idea.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: When someone is like, I know you can do the thing.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_00]: uh uh uh you can borrow that comment from that.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_00]: What a cool idea.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: She said then advice.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: She said
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: Afterwards, celebrate, clap yourself, clap for yourself, and go learn the thing, and then get in those reps, choose to believe the evidence of your growing confidence, right?
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: And I think when you're, when you're, especially when you're starting something new, if you have a mentor or a friend who's like really, really cheering for you, they're seeing something that you might not see in yourself in the moment, you know, but it doesn't mean you don't have it.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's like she also just loves our anthem and this podcast.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: She said do it scared.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: She said confidence is a byproduct.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's on the other side of action.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: So a byproduct of taking action is confidence.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's how you get confidence.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone's waiting for confidence to get action.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: You got to take the action to get the confidence.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: And waiting to fill better about it
- 27:06[SPEAKER_01]: one must still have to take action to show up in this way.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: So you got to take the action, guys.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: And as you also said, the confidence, the happiness, the understanding, the clarity that you are looking for, the guidance, the direction, the answers that you're looking for are on the other side of doing the thing.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: So do it, scared, and freaking,
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: Say this episode and go back and listen to her or tell you that because it's I couldn't I was just like yeah This is why she's on the pot like literally to remind people say you beat to you see it I'm obsessed with you.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: Sean.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: Tay you guys they have their own podcast.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: I also know that since we interviewed them for this And I was like what do you have to do right now?
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: They were you know sharing like I wear in the transition they didn't podcasting course Oh, okay, and so I highly podcast is called my straw in the mic
- 27:48[SPEAKER_01]: My store on the mic, and also I love their weekly newsletters.

- 27:59[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not sure she's a doctor.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I know.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, docks are shuntay.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: Um.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, she is a doctor.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: She is a badass.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: I love her journey.
