  Speaker 1: have the Holy Spirit be able to speak through this mic,

  Speaker 1: go through the listeners' ears and be able to reach

  Speaker 1: their hearts and minds and be able to apply these
• 0:23
  Speaker 1: verses to their lives. In the Lord Jesus Christ's name

  Speaker 1: I pray. Amen. Thank you for pressing play. I start

  Speaker 1: off the episode with the prayer just like that and

  Speaker 1: it's almost to the T like you would have thought

  Speaker 1: I rehearsed some of this but I do not. I

  Speaker 1: want to make sure that this is a Bible study

  Speaker 1: that is non-scripted and non-rehearsed and really from the heart

  Speaker 1: and soul of not only me but Jesus Christ himself. Amen.

  Speaker 1: So let's jump into it. I want to get into

  Speaker 1: John chapter 12 and This is a woman pours perfume
• 1:04
  Speaker 1: on Jesus' feet at Bethany. This is how it's titled.

  Speaker 1: So I want you to understand that this is a
• 1:15
  Speaker 1: Bible that was written from eyewitnesses long, very long ago.
• 1:25
  Speaker 1: A lot of this is not going to be comprehensible
• 1:29
  Speaker 1: to a lot of you But I want you to
• 1:32
  Speaker 1: know what really matters and the Spirit is leading. It's
• 1:35
  Speaker 1: that relationship with Jesus Christ. Being in Bible study is great.
• 1:41
  Speaker 1: Being in praise is great. But really, it's prayer. It's
• 1:47
  Speaker 1: the most important thing. John chapter 12 verse 1 states,
• 1:52
  Speaker 1: Six days before the Passover festival, Jesus went to Bethany,
• 1:57
  Speaker 1: the village where Lazarus lived. He was the man Who
• 2:02
  Speaker 1: had been dead. But Jesus had raised him. Some friends
• 2:08
  Speaker 1: prepared a special meal. There for Jesus. Martha gave out
• 2:13
  Speaker 1: the food. And Lazarus sat among the visitors with Jesus.
• 2:20
  Speaker 1: Verse 3 states. Then Mary brought a bottle of very
• 2:23
  Speaker 1: expensive oil. That had a very nice smell. It was
• 2:28
  Speaker 1: made from pure nard. She poured it over Jesus' feet
• 2:34
  Speaker 1: and then she made his feet dry again with her hair.
• 2:49
  Speaker 1: The sweet smell of the perfume filled the whole house.
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: Now when I have distraction of a car or two

  Speaker 1: going by, I'm not going to edit this and take

  Speaker 1: that out. I am recording this outside of my home church.

  Speaker 1: And I don't want to get too far into me.

  Speaker 1: Because this is about the real G-O-A-T. Greatest of all time.

  Speaker 1: Jesus was the only one that was sinless. And made

  Speaker 1: an example of how to go. And this is something

  Speaker 1: that I've just come to grips with. Being unrecognized and

  Speaker 1: appreciated for a very long time. And very misunderstood. Like
• 3:49
  Speaker 1: the Bible can be very misunderstanding. But all God asks
• 3:56
  Speaker 1: is that you believe it. And that you have faith
• 4:01
  Speaker 1: in his son Jesus Christ. I cannot stress that enough
• 4:05
  Speaker 1: on this episode. I normally go through the verses a

  Speaker 1: little bit more in depth. But tonight is different. And

  Speaker 1: that's why I love having my own episode. Where it's,

  Speaker 1: I'm sorry, my own podcast. Where I make my own episodes.

  Speaker 1: And glorify God now. Instead of what I was doing before. Judas,

  Speaker 1: one of Jesus' disciples was there. He was the man
• 4:37
  Speaker 1: who would sell Jesus to Jesus' enemies. Judas said, we
• 4:43
  Speaker 1: could have sold this oil for 300 coins. That is
• 4:52
  Speaker 1: as much money as someone would get for a year's work.
• 4:56
  Speaker 1: Then we could have given that money to the poor people.

  Speaker 1: He did not say this because he really wanted to
• 5:04
  Speaker 1: help the poor people. No, he said it because he
• 5:08
  Speaker 1: wanted the money himself. And this is where a greed
• 5:12
  Speaker 1: comes in. And I'm not even going to put American greed.
• 5:15
  Speaker 1: We have it in all countries where there has to
• 5:19
  Speaker 1: be a superior. There has to be a president. There
• 5:23
  Speaker 1: has to be representatives. There has to be division too
• 5:28
  Speaker 1: as well. Like, that's why it kind of rhymes with television. Division.

  Speaker 1: Because it divides us all and it also puts us
• 5:35
  Speaker 1: in groups. I can go deeper. But Jesus wanted to
• 5:38
  Speaker 1: break this cycle of greed for money. He kept the
• 5:45
  Speaker 1: bag of money and sometimes he took money from it
• 5:48
  Speaker 1: for himself. But Jesus said, do not stop her. She
• 5:53
  Speaker 1: has kept this oil safe until now. And we're talking
• 5:59
  Speaker 1: about The woman that pours Jesus's. Not only his feet.
• 6:09
  Speaker 1: With perfume. But also. Jesus's head. And body. And this
• 6:17
  Speaker 1: is where it gets like. You know our human. Comprehension.
• 6:22
  Speaker 1: Doesn't understand this time. What that meant. We could dive deeper.

  Speaker 1: And that's. What Bible study is really all about. And
• 6:36
  Speaker 1: being able to apply these verses. Amen. So I want
• 6:39
  Speaker 1: to make this clear. That this is what Jesus said.
• 6:45
  Speaker 1: Do not stop her. She has kept this oil safe
• 6:47
  Speaker 1: until now. She wanted it for the day when they
• 6:50
  Speaker 1: will bury my dead body. You will always have poor
• 6:55
  Speaker 1: people with you. But you will not always have me
• 6:58
  Speaker 1: with you. By this time, a large crowd of Jews
• 7:02
  Speaker 1: had heard the news that Jesus was at Bethany. So
• 7:06
  Speaker 1: they came there to see him. They came also to
• 7:10
  Speaker 1: see Lazarus because Jesus had made him alive again. So
• 7:14
  Speaker 1: the leaders of the priests decided to kill not only Jesus,
• 7:19
  Speaker 1: but Lazarus too. They wanted to do that because many
• 7:22
  Speaker 1: Jews now refused to obey them. Instead, these Jews believed
• 7:27
  Speaker 1: in Jesus because what Of what he has done for Lazarus.
• 7:31
  Speaker 1: So there was a lot of like. You got to
• 7:34
  Speaker 1: imagine the. Confusion. The conflict. Of the Jewish and the priests.
• 7:42
  Speaker 1: And the religious leaders. And the Roman Catholics. When they
• 7:46
  Speaker 1: have everything locked down. They have their own kingdom. And
• 7:52
  Speaker 1: they have their own structures. They have their own rules.
• 7:56
  Speaker 1: They have their own laws. And. here comes Jesus just
• 8:02
  Speaker 1: disturbing everything by actually having the kingdom in him instead
• 8:13
  Speaker 1: of having the kingdom in material things and structures and
• 8:18
  Speaker 1: so many different things right that we still do to
• 8:21
  Speaker 1: this day we love material things we use people we
• 8:29
  Speaker 1: It's so opposite. And I know that it's not like everybody.
• 8:34
  Speaker 1: And nobody's perfect. We can't be all loving all the time.
• 8:38
  Speaker 1: But we can majority of the time. Amen. So I
• 8:41
  Speaker 1: want to get a little bit deeper in this. Crowd. Crowds.
• 8:44
  Speaker 1: With an S. Praise Jesus as he goes into Jerusalem.
• 8:48
  Speaker 1: The next day a large crowd of the people were
• 8:51
  Speaker 1: in Jerusalem for the festival. They had heard the news
• 8:54
  Speaker 1: that Jesus was on the way there. So they took
• 8:57
  Speaker 1: branches from palm trees. And they went out to meet Jesus.

  Speaker 1: They were shouting. We praise God. May the Lord God
• 9:05
  Speaker 1: bless the king. Who comes with his authority. May he
• 9:09
  Speaker 1: bless the king of Israel. So everybody wanted to get blessed.

  Speaker 1: But they also made it to where. It was so.
• 9:23
  Speaker 1: With the branches. And how Jesus was coming in on
• 9:26
  Speaker 1: a donkey. So humbly. He could have came on. Anything else.
• 9:31
  Speaker 1: But he did that to show. That. He is. Making him. Self.
• 9:41
  Speaker 1: Like amongst everybody else. No. He had to go through these.
• 9:49
  Speaker 1: Times of being obedient. And getting into habit. Like. Think
• 9:54
  Speaker 1: about your routine. Think about your consistency. Think about your
• 9:57
  Speaker 1: habits that are getting you where you need to go.
• 9:59
  Speaker 1: right and you feel like you're successful and you have
• 10:03
  Speaker 1: that purpose right well this is the same thing with
• 10:05
  Speaker 1: jesus because when jesus was younger he was also in
• 10:13
  Speaker 1: the temple with the masters and the teachers right The
• 10:21
  Speaker 1: real prophets before him. Because there was plenty. During Jesus'
• 10:30
  Speaker 1: time too. And a lot of people don't talk about that.
• 10:32
  Speaker 1: It's like John the Baptist. The one that baptized John. Anyways,
• 10:35
  Speaker 1: I can go deeper. But we're getting a little off track.

  Speaker 1: But Jesus found a young donkey. This is I already stated.
• 10:42
  Speaker 1: And he sat on it. This happened in the way
• 10:46
  Speaker 1: that was written in the Bible long ago. Do not
• 10:48
  Speaker 1: be afraid you people in Zion. Look. Your king is coming.

  Speaker 1: He is riding on a young donkey. Jesus' disciples did
• 10:55
  Speaker 1: not understand all this at that time. They understood only
• 11:01
  Speaker 1: after Jesus had returned to God in heaven. Oh my goodness.

  Speaker 1: Let's close out with that. After Jesus said what he said,

  Speaker 1: the disciples understood when Jesus rose from the dead and
• 11:19
  Speaker 1: made himself And also. For enough time. For more than
• 11:26
  Speaker 1: 500 eyewitnesses. Is what I've been told. And it's probably more. Right. And.

  Speaker 1: They all. Majority of them. Also saw him walk. Out.
• 11:39
  Speaker 1: Of this earth. However that was. Like if it was
• 11:44
  Speaker 1: on the ocean. And he just kept walking. And eventually.
• 11:48
  Speaker 1: Or if he went up. That's irrelevant. We weren't in
• 11:52
  Speaker 1: that time, but I'm telling you that over 500 eyewitnesses
• 11:55
  Speaker 1: were able to see a man that said what was
• 11:59
  Speaker 1: going to happen. That he was going to die and
• 12:02
  Speaker 1: on the third day he would rise and you would
• 12:04
  Speaker 1: see him again. He actually meant what he said about
• 12:11
  Speaker 1: he was the son of God. His purpose was fulfilled.
• 12:20
  Speaker 1: And going out like. Because most of us when we die.
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: We ain't going to have no. Resurrection like that. And
• 12:29
  Speaker 1: this is the realistic. Part of. The episode towards the
• 12:33
  Speaker 1: end this. On this episode because. I'm also. In a
• 12:38
  Speaker 1: transitional period. Where. I am. Not only just. Spiritually. getting
• 12:48
  Speaker 1: more equipped but mentally and I am a new creation
• 12:53
  Speaker 1: and it's not only just because I put down the
• 12:57
  Speaker 1: drink and I stopped using it's it's actually that the
• 13:01
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit actually being activated because I'm an obedient participant
• 13:07
  Speaker 1: and as passionate as I have been about my music
• 13:11
  Speaker 1: about drinking about smoking I'm just as passionate about Jesus
• 13:14
  Speaker 1: Christ today And that speaks very loud volumes because I
• 13:19
  Speaker 1: dedicated 20 years of a lot of just more self-centered
• 13:26
  Speaker 1: music as well as, especially towards the last five years
• 13:33
  Speaker 1: of my drinking, I became more isolated and I became
• 13:37
  Speaker 1: a blacked out drunk and stayed up for days. So
• 13:46
  Speaker 1: for what God is doing in my life is because
• 13:49
  Speaker 1: it's also because I am seeking him. He said, seek
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: and you shall find. So the hunger that I have now,
• 14:01
  Speaker 1: it would be very hard for me to turn away
• 14:03
  Speaker 1: and go back to my old ways. And that's all
• 14:05
  Speaker 1: glory to God. That's all glory to Jesus. And it's
• 14:08
  Speaker 1: all glory to the Holy Spirit because I'm the one
• 14:11
  Speaker 1: that messed up. I don't deserve this, but it has
• 14:15
  Speaker 1: been given to me. Time and time again. And I'm
• 14:20
  Speaker 1: so grateful. That you were able to listen through all.
• 14:27
  Speaker 1: Of this episode. And I hope that you come back
