- 0:03Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:06Speaker 1: It is a beautiful Thursday, and you know that means
- 0:10Speaker 1: it's time to talk cars. And we have Brad Dunges
- 0:12Speaker 1: in here from Dunges Toyota.
- 0:14Speaker 2: How you doing, sir? I'm doing fine. Welcome back. It's
- 0:17Speaker 2: a beautiful day. Yeah, no, it's good to be back.
- 0:19Speaker 3: I had a welcome to all of you out there listening,
- 0:23Speaker 3: and what a beautiful day. We're glad you're with us.
- 0:26Speaker 3: And I've got my friend Debbie Halpin here from Hopestone.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Good morning. Good morning.
- 0:31Speaker 4: And.
- 0:32Speaker 3: I was at the Toyota meeting last week. Thank you
- 0:34Speaker 3: to William and Michelle for standing in for me. I
- 0:40Speaker 3: was hopeful I could call in that morning as the
- 0:43Speaker 3: meeting was wrapping up, but we were already moving towards
- 0:47Speaker 3: getting on the airplane.
- 0:50Speaker 2: After a really great meeting, Toyota has a really.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Every dealer pretty much comes and a lot of their
- 1:00Speaker 3: Some bring staff or important folks at their dealerships and
- 1:04Speaker 3: spouses and things. And so it's about 5,000 people there.
- 1:11Speaker 3: And they do what they call the first night is
- 1:13Speaker 3: a reveal show. So we get to see some new
- 1:17Speaker 3: product ideas and things. I saw some of the stuff
- 1:24Speaker 3: I can. talk about some of my can't usually I
- 1:29Speaker 3: say more than I should probably. I think William mentioned
- 1:32Speaker 3: some of it, the flying cars is, uh, there's a
- 1:36Speaker 3: partnership Toyota has with a company called Joby that makes these, uh,
- 1:41Speaker 3: they're like helicopters, but the propellers go move. They are
- 1:46Speaker 3: double redundant motors. So they almost can't fail. They've been
- 1:51Speaker 3: in testing and partnered with Toyota for about 10 years,
- 1:55Speaker 3: but Toyota since 2017.
- 1:59Speaker 2: And, yeah, it's just another thing.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Toyota loves to be involved in these things that are
- 2:04Speaker 3: change mobility, right? And, you know, they're into robots. And
- 2:09Speaker 3: right now, you know, mostly they kind of help in manufacturing.
- 2:13Speaker 3: We saw a video of some that the one at
- 2:16Speaker 3: the tundra plant is like a dog. that just walks
- 2:20Speaker 3: around the plant and kind of listens and smells and senses,
- 2:26Speaker 3: tries to sense heat in the machine. So you can
- 2:30Speaker 3: tell if something's about to break and, and that's all
- 2:35Speaker 3: it does. And another plant, they pick up big things.
- 2:39Speaker 3: You know, they just stuff that's hard for people to do.
- 2:42Speaker 3: They can lift without even thinking about it. And so it's,
- 2:47Speaker 3: it's mostly, you know, they're not, Replacing the people, they're
- 2:51Speaker 3: helping the people do their jobs better and be more
- 2:53Speaker 3: effective and more productive and building cars faster, which is
- 2:58Speaker 3: important in Toyota's world. We talked about that. They were
- 3:01Speaker 3: investing in five facilities in North America right now in
- 3:06Speaker 3: America and moving all kinds of production stateside because of
- 3:12Speaker 3: the tariff stuff and trying to plan for that it's
- 3:17Speaker 3: hard when you're a manufacturer you can't do this stuff
- 3:19Speaker 3: overnight you've got to really be it takes several years
- 3:22Speaker 3: about five years to finish something like that from the
- 3:26Speaker 3: vision to the realization and stuff coming off the line
- 3:30Speaker 3: but you know things like new new Grand Highlander will
- 3:37Speaker 3: have a new kind of cosmetic changes on the front
- 3:41Speaker 3: end of the vehicle next year. We've got the Highlander,
- 3:44Speaker 3: traditional Highlander, is coming to an end. It's going to
- 3:47Speaker 3: become a full battery electric vehicle. I'm not quite sure
- 3:51Speaker 3: when we're going to have those yet, but the Highlander
- 3:54Speaker 3: production ends in December of this year, and then the
- 3:58Speaker 3: new Highlander will be out early next.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Year, and $ 320 million.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Mile range on an electric vehicle with third row larger
- 4:06Speaker 3: than the electric vehicles we have today. And really stylish.
- 4:11Speaker 3: I loved how it looked. We got to sit in
- 4:13Speaker 3: it and see what it was going to feel like.
- 4:16Speaker 3: And it's great.
- 4:18Speaker 2: What else?
- 4:19Speaker 3: Right now we have Trailhunter trim.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Or it's not a trim.
- 4:25Speaker 3: It's a model on the Tacoma and 4Runner. And they're
- 4:34Speaker 3: going to add Trailhunter as an option on Tundra and Sequoia.
- 4:40Speaker 3: So right now, it comes with air intake that comes up.
- 4:45Speaker 2: It looks like a snorkel coming out of the car.
- 4:47Speaker 3: If you drive in sand or dirt or water, make
- 4:51Speaker 3: sure it doesn't ingest it into the vehicle. So that
- 4:57Speaker 3: will not be on the... the option package that gets
- 5:02Speaker 3: put on the Tundra and Sequoia, but it's got everything else.
- 5:07Speaker 3: But the cool thing about it is you can take
- 5:08Speaker 3: a lower trim level and add this serious off-roading stuff,
- 5:16Speaker 3: new wheels, suspension, all kinds of stuff to make your
- 5:21Speaker 3: off-roading experience.
- 5:22Speaker 2: So I think that'll be.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Popular for some of our customers because a lot of
- 5:25Speaker 3: people use their Toyotas and Venture and fun stuff or
- 5:31Speaker 3: work some ranchers and things like that appreciate that stuff
- 5:38Speaker 3: as well we saw this is probably what I'm not
- 5:43Speaker 3: supposed to talk about but things like Toyota side by side.
- 5:48Speaker 2: That was built off a Tacoma TRD Pro engine and
- 5:53Speaker 2: suspension 26 inch clearance so it.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Sits way up high and has these massive shocks and
- 6:04Speaker 3: full four-seater type thing. We saw what they call a
- 6:11Speaker 3: key truck. So key vehicles in Japan are these tiny
- 6:15Speaker 3: little vehicles, a class of car. It's a certain displacement
- 6:21Speaker 3: in the engine and horsepower limitations, stuff like that. But
- 6:26Speaker 3: it's a really cool kind of vehicle because it's not
- 6:29Speaker 3: very expensive. I think they're $ 10, 000, $ 15, 000 vehicles. For a
- 6:33Speaker 3: new vehicle? For a new vehicle. But the truck is
- 6:38Speaker 3: cool because it's very flexible in the bed. So you're
- 6:41Speaker 3: going to have a flatbed, a pickup bed, a dump bed,
- 6:44Speaker 3: a camper shell, all kinds of things.
- 6:48Speaker 2: And it's not.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Um, it'll probably just be an, you know, out in
- 6:54Speaker 3: the country kind of vehicle rather than on the roads
- 6:58Speaker 3: and highways, but it's great for, for ranchers and people
- 7:03Speaker 3: that are, you know, have land and, and want to
- 7:07Speaker 3: get out there and do stuff and build fences, uh,
- 7:11Speaker 3: you know, do that kind of work.
- 7:12Speaker 2: You don't, you know, just not, you know, of course
- 7:15Speaker 2: your truck can do it too.
- 7:16Speaker 3: You pick up, but, but, uh, This will give you
- 7:19Speaker 3: another alternative, a less expensive vehicle, more easy to replace
- 7:24Speaker 3: and just doesn't cost.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Pickup trucks can start.
- 7:28Speaker 3: In the 40 to 60 and more thousand dollars now.
- 7:32Speaker 3: So if you can get one for well under 20,
- 7:35Speaker 3: that would be a big difference.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 3: You know, lots of other cool stuff coming, continued evolution
- 7:45Speaker 3: of the Toyota brand. and how they envision things and
- 7:50Speaker 3: commitment to dealers. You know, that's the neat thing. Great entertainment, too.
- 7:55Speaker 3: We saw Lenny Kravitz.
- 7:57Speaker 2: The first night.
- 7:58Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 7:59Speaker 2: And Jim Gaffigan was the host of the.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Of the thing oh my that would be isn't that.
- 8:07Speaker 6: Cool that would be very cool you.
- 8:09Speaker 7: Got paid to see these guys this is great where
- 8:11Speaker 7: do we sign up Brad well front row too oh
- 8:14Speaker 7: my gosh got us seats in the front row and
- 8:17Speaker 7: so in the they said okay here it comes.
- 8:20Speaker 3: You know Kim is very strategic in this and smart
- 8:24Speaker 3: lady rush up to the stage and so we can
- 8:27Speaker 3: get see what's going on but Lenny was quite quite
- 8:31Speaker 3: entertaining I bet and uh It was quite a rocker.
- 8:38Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 8:39Speaker 3: The next day they had the business meeting where they
- 8:42Speaker 3: go into even more detail on production and flow.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Lots of talk. The dealer side.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Is availability. We still can't build enough Toyotas to meet demand.
- 8:59Speaker 3: It's better than having too many. But it's a problem.
- 9:04Speaker 3: We're growing it, done just as fast as we, I
- 9:07Speaker 3: think it's possible, to be honest.
- 9:09Speaker 2: We're up, you know, we've been up as.
- 9:12Speaker 3: High as 30 or 40 percent, 25 at the lowest
- 9:15Speaker 3: this year over last year. And the only thing that's
- 9:19Speaker 3: limiting us is the inventory, being able to earn more cars. But,
- 9:24Speaker 3: you know, the truth is everybody's kind of, You know,
- 9:26Speaker 3: it's a per capita thing kind of where the larger.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Dealers are still turning just as fast as we are virtually. And,
- 9:33Speaker 2: you know, so we just got to keep keep going.
- 9:37Speaker 3: I think I'm really excited by the opportunity there and
- 9:41Speaker 3: how fast we are growing. I think, you know, there's
- 9:44Speaker 3: a case to be made that based on. Besides the
- 9:48Speaker 3: dealer we are, we're growing faster than anybody else in
- 9:50Speaker 3: our entire region.
- 9:51Speaker 6: We're in and out. In and out.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Some dealers, if there's a facility action or ownership change,
- 9:58Speaker 3: you get more cars. We built the building pretty recently,
- 10:05Speaker 3: so I'm not going to build a new one just
- 10:06Speaker 3: to get more cars.
- 10:09Speaker 2: We've got this.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Great business model going where we focus on customers and
- 10:14Speaker 3: try to sell the car the way you want to
- 10:16Speaker 3: buy it. Straightforward pricing. non-commissioned sales team less pressure more
- 10:22Speaker 3: focus on your needs and just keeping it simple is
- 10:26Speaker 3: what we call it and and i just keep it
- 10:29Speaker 3: keeps giving back to us it's it's working i hear
- 10:33Speaker 3: from customers all the time it was the best purchase
- 10:36Speaker 3: experience they've ever had.
- 10:38Speaker 6: I can vouch for that.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 10:39Speaker 6: I can vouch for that. I love my Crown Signia.
- 10:43Speaker 6: That was not what I intended.
- 10:45Speaker 2: No, I know. It was a switch, wasn't it?
- 10:47Speaker 6: It was a switch.
- 10:48Speaker 2: It surprised you with that.
- 10:49Speaker 5: But boy, what a vehicle.
- 10:51Speaker 6: I absolutely love it. I was all set for my RAV4.
- 10:56Speaker 6: I had it built. I was ready to order it. Surprise.
- 11:01Speaker 3: A lot of people don't know what a Crown Signia is.
- 11:04Speaker 3: It's kind of a There's fewer of those produced. The
- 11:08Speaker 3: RAV4 is our best-selling model. I think right now we've
- 11:13Speaker 3: been through a whole model change, so it kind of
- 11:15Speaker 3: dipped for a bit there. But we've got 10 or
- 11:17Speaker 3: 12 in stock or on the way here right now,
- 11:20Speaker 3: so the RAV4 is starting to get much more available
- 11:24Speaker 3: than it was.
- 11:26Speaker 2: But they're still turning so fast.
- 11:29Speaker 3: All those that we have will either pre-sell or sell
- 11:32Speaker 3: within a few days of getting.
- 11:34Speaker 2: On the lot.
- 11:36Speaker 3: But the Crown Signia is that since people that will
- 11:39Speaker 3: remember the Avalon and the Crown replaced the Avalon as
- 11:44Speaker 3: kind of the top tier sedan in Toyota world and
- 11:50Speaker 3: the Signia is a small SUV version of that vehicle.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Oh it's I love it it's wonderful it's absolutely wonderful
- 11:58Speaker 4: it's comfortable luxury does everything you could possibly want a
- 12:03Speaker 4: car to do and.
- 12:03Speaker 3: More well they I switched cars a few weeks ago
- 12:07Speaker 3: from my Land Cruiser into a 4Runner because I'm kind
- 12:11Speaker 3: of trying them all out.
- 12:13Speaker 2: That's not the purpose of it. We try to keep
- 12:17Speaker 2: the vehicles turning.
- 12:18Speaker 3: We buy one, we put it in, keep it in
- 12:22Speaker 3: as an asset for six months, and that way we can.
- 12:26Speaker 2: It helps build our inventory a little bit.
- 12:29Speaker 6: Well, I think it helps with knowledge, too.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Definitely.
- 12:33Speaker 3: And I had not driven a 4Runner much since the
- 12:36Speaker 3: new model came out. And I tell you, I love it.
- 12:39Speaker 3: It is one of the best SUVs I've ever driven.
- 12:43Speaker 3: It's got great tech. Not to take anything away from
- 12:46Speaker 3: Sequoia and Land Cruiser, but it has the latest stuff.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Everything is dialed in. Everything continues to evolve with it.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Safety stuff, the lane keeping, it's got some.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Senses.
- 13:04Speaker 3: When you've got traffic up ahead of you, it senses
- 13:08Speaker 3: and kind.
- 13:08Speaker 6: Of slows you down.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Adjusts your speed.
- 13:11Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know that I like that so much.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Well, it takes a minute to get used to, but
- 13:15Speaker 3: you think about over time, millions.
- 13:18Speaker 6: Of miles driven with.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Thousands or millions of people driving. It's going to prevent accidents.
- 13:23Speaker 6: Yes, it definitely does.
- 13:25Speaker 2: And we all don't want to give up control, but,
- 13:29Speaker 2: you know, it's not that.
- 13:30Speaker 3: You can still, you know, accelerate if you want, but
- 13:33Speaker 3: it's not advisable in terms of oncoming traffic. It did.
- 13:38Speaker 6: It saved me on the turnpike. I wasn't paying.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Attention, and it slowed me down, thankfully.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Oh, wow. And that's why we coach our people. You know,
- 13:49Speaker 3: most of it can be turned off.
- 13:50Speaker 6: Yeah, you can.
- 13:51Speaker 3: But, you know, so I always tell people, you know,
- 13:56Speaker 3: turn it off if it's really bothering you.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's a great safety feature.
- 14:01Speaker 3: And see if you can get used to it because
- 14:03Speaker 3: it really is, Toyota's vision for that is not that
- 14:06Speaker 3: the cars are going to drive themselves at this point,
- 14:10Speaker 3: but that the cars can help you drive and make
- 14:13Speaker 3: sure you are safe and not back into things, not
- 14:17Speaker 3: running over something in ways that... You know, they just
- 14:22Speaker 3: couldn't before. So, we're proud to have you on again
- 14:28Speaker 3: to talk about Hopestone.
- 14:30Speaker 5: Uh-huh.
- 14:31Speaker 2: And Dad's Walk, which is.
- 14:32Speaker 6: Coming up again. Our big event, Dad's Walk. I still,
- 14:36Speaker 6: you know, a.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Lot of people don't know what that is.
- 14:39Speaker 4: So, Dad's Walk is a three-day event. It starts in Claremore, Oklahoma. And....
- 14:49Speaker 6: We finish up in Copan.
- 14:51Speaker 4: And so the first day we walk from Claremore to Nowatta.
- 14:56Speaker 4: We'll be having an event that evening at Trips with
- 15:02Speaker 4: some entertainment and food and things like that. The following morning,
- 15:06Speaker 4: they get up. Hope Stone will bring them breakfast, courtesy
- 15:10Speaker 4: of Price's Meat Market. And then they take off from Nowatta.
- 15:17Speaker 4: And we walk to Bartlesville. We'll stop along the way.
- 15:19Speaker 4: Chick-fil-A is going to give us lunch and HTO is
- 15:23Speaker 4: going to.
- 15:23Speaker 6: Give us tea. So they're going to feed our walkers.
- 15:27Speaker 4: And then we walk from our lunch spot into Bartlesville.
- 15:32Speaker 5: The really exciting thing is this.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Year the auction, live and silent auction, will be held
- 15:39Speaker 4: at Hopestone.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Oh, great.
- 15:42Speaker 4: So we're going to be partnering with Cooper Milk.
- 15:46Speaker 6: We're going to close off the street.
- 15:48Speaker 4: The city has helped us to work through that process,
- 15:51Speaker 4: a closing Dewey.
- 15:54Speaker 6: Is it Dewey? I think it's Dewey. Between Frank Phillips
- 15:57Speaker 6: and 2nd.
- 15:59Speaker 4: So we'll have a nice reception there, you know, with
- 16:04Speaker 4: Cooper Mill, and we're going to have some food trucks,
- 16:09Speaker 4: the Jane Phillips Medical Center, and.
- 16:14Speaker 6: My husband, you know, I always reel him in. He's
- 16:16Speaker 6: a hard worker.
- 16:17Speaker 4: And the Heidorns are going to be pulling together that event. Yeah,
- 16:22Speaker 4: the hospital has been fantastic with helping us to make
- 16:27Speaker 4: sure that we can do this event.
- 16:31Speaker 6: Financially.
- 16:32Speaker 4: And so big, the auction items are just.
- 16:38Speaker 6: Amazing, amazing.
- 16:40Speaker 4: I know they were last year.
- 16:41Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, Guy Fieri's.
- 16:43Speaker 5: Silent auction downstairs.
- 16:47Speaker 2: And then which is a great facility it is.
- 16:50Speaker 4: And that was actually Dwayne's idea he said you know
- 16:55Speaker 4: hey let's get people actually into Hope Stone so they
- 16:59Speaker 4: can actually see it you know we tell them about
- 17:03Speaker 4: oh yes they have wigs and all the supplies you
- 17:07Speaker 4: need they provide nutritional and food and drinks and all
- 17:11Speaker 4: that kind of stuff they have exercise classes they have
- 17:14Speaker 4: support group they have meal program you know they give
- 17:17Speaker 4: gas cards they help with airlines they help hotel stays
- 17:21Speaker 4: so we do all these things but he said let's
- 17:24Speaker 4: get people actually in there so that they can experience
- 17:28Speaker 4: the facility and actually see it because it's totally different
- 17:33Speaker 4: thing to hear about it yeah and when you walk
- 17:36Speaker 4: in the door Um, you know, we had the CEO
- 17:40Speaker 4: at the hospital. He came down with his team and they,
- 17:44Speaker 4: he'd never been there and they had never been there
- 17:48Speaker 4: and they couldn't believe it.
- 17:50Speaker 2: So what is it? I mean, you talked about all
- 17:52Speaker 2: the things you do.
- 17:53Speaker 6: Yes.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Stone is a cancer support center. Uh, but, In every
- 17:59Speaker 3: way you can imagine, I think is the right way
- 18:01Speaker 3: to say that. If you can think of something that
- 18:03Speaker 3: you don't do, you'll probably figure.
- 18:04Speaker 5: Out how to do it.
- 18:05Speaker 6: We'll figure out how to do it.
- 18:06Speaker 4: We have people we go and ask for help. The
- 18:12Speaker 4: community's been fantastic. Dank's Barbecue's helping us out this year.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Bartlesville Health and Rehab, Bambino's, Painted Horse.
- 18:24Speaker 6: Um, Chick, obviously Chick-fil-A.
- 18:27Speaker 4: HTO, you know, they all just, uh, the eatery is
- 18:33Speaker 4: going to give us some sweets. Just, we didn't have
- 18:37Speaker 4: anyone say, we can't help you. Yeah.
- 18:40Speaker 2: It's a community.
- 18:40Speaker 6: So it's, it's just, and that's the, the beauty of it.
- 18:45Speaker 3: As we have, uh, supported Hopestone now for a few years,
- 18:49Speaker 3: and you guys have been the selection in our anniversary charity, uh,
- 18:54Speaker 3: thing yep three times i think.
- 18:57Speaker 5: Uh three yeah three or four yes.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Yeah and yeah that just i mean that's one of
- 19:03Speaker 3: the things is cancer affects so many people in our
- 19:08Speaker 3: community in our lives i think everybody you ask the
- 19:11Speaker 3: whole audience out there everybody raise your hand if you're
- 19:13Speaker 3: a family or somebody who knows and been impacted by
- 19:17Speaker 3: cancer and virtually everybody raises their hand they do but
- 19:21Speaker 3: you don't it's not something you broadcast of course right
- 19:25Speaker 3: and then when you need it you know you're in
- 19:27Speaker 3: the middle of something you know that you need to
- 19:30Speaker 3: focus on and you guys are there to help them
- 19:33Speaker 3: with that but so many people are you know you
- 19:36Speaker 3: help you've helped so many.
- 19:38Speaker 4: People oh yes yes thank god yeah thank god you
- 19:43Speaker 4: know and and it is it's all so we don't
- 19:46Speaker 4: get any government funding and we aren't part of United
- 19:51Speaker 4: Way or anything like that. The concept of Hope Stone
- 19:55Speaker 4: is strictly people helping people. And that's the beauty of it.
- 20:00Speaker 4: You know, all the donations, we're a volunteer organization. All
- 20:04Speaker 4: the donations go right back into the programs and So
- 20:08Speaker 4: that we're able to, you know, if we have somebody
- 20:11Speaker 4: who comes in and they're like, there's nothing left for
- 20:14Speaker 4: me here. They run out of options, treatment options. You know,
- 20:19Speaker 4: my doctor says I need to go to MD Anderson.
- 20:23Speaker 4: They might have something or Mayo Clinic. Okay, let's make
- 20:27Speaker 4: a reservation.
- 20:28Speaker 6: Let's make a plane reservation.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Let's get you booked into a hotel and let's get
- 20:33Speaker 4: you there and see what.
- 20:34Speaker 6: The doctor says. You know?
- 20:38Speaker 4: And that's all through people. That's all through people's donations.
- 20:45Speaker 4: You know, we're just a pass-through.
- 20:47Speaker 6: We don't do it. I just make the reservation. I
- 20:51Speaker 6: just cook the meals.
- 20:53Speaker 4: I just make sure that they're on the prescription program.
- 20:57Speaker 4: You know, the MedCare pharmacy takes care of all of that.
- 21:02Speaker 4: So it truly is a people helping people program.
- 21:08Speaker 6: Which I think is so unique.
- 21:10Speaker 2: And it's Bartlesville's own.
- 21:13Speaker 7: Yeah, it is.
- 21:14Speaker 6: It's unique to Bartlesville. It is.
- 21:17Speaker 4: We have an endowment through the Community Foundation. So... Which
- 21:23Speaker 4: I feel great about because that helps to just make
- 21:27Speaker 4: sure that it's going to continue into the future.
- 21:30Speaker 6: It is so important.
- 21:31Speaker 2: In the nonprofit world.
- 21:32Speaker 6: Cancer's not going anywhere, unfortunately.
- 21:35Speaker 3: And it gives you that confidence to keep going. Yes.
- 21:39Speaker 3: And not have to be desperate in fundraising and all that,
- 21:42Speaker 3: which is so important.
- 21:44Speaker 2: You have to have confidence.
- 21:45Speaker 4: We do have to do the fundraising, and Dad's Walk
- 21:47Speaker 4: is our biggest fundraiser.
- 21:49Speaker 6: And so getting back to that.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Yeah, because we left off when you guys were in
- 21:53Speaker 3: Bartlesville having an auction. Yes.
- 21:55Speaker 2: What happens next?
- 21:56Speaker 6: Having an auction and fun.
- 21:58Speaker 4: And then on Saturday morning, we get up and a
- 22:03Speaker 4: Passed to Independence crew will come in and serve breakfast
- 22:07Speaker 4: at Hopestone to our walkers. And they will walk from
- 22:12Speaker 4: Bartlesville up to Copan. And so then there's a big
- 22:18Speaker 4: barbecue music event at Hope Stone or at Copan Garage.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Which in itself is such a unique organization.
- 22:29Speaker 6: It's such a unique experience.
- 22:31Speaker 2: It's not just a garage.
- 22:32Speaker 6: No, it is not a garage.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Do they fix cars?
- 22:35Speaker 6: No, not really. No, that's not what they do there.
- 22:38Speaker 6: Although they'll pull you out of a ditch.
- 22:40Speaker 4: But a huge music event, fantastic entertainment.
- 22:44Speaker 6: They have.
- 22:45Speaker 4: bands coming in from all over the country.
- 22:49Speaker 6: To entertain. They've been coming for years. You know, and
- 22:53Speaker 6: all the.
- 22:54Speaker 5: Hotels in the area have helped us out.
- 22:56Speaker 4: You know, the Holiday Inn Express, the Homeplace Suites, the
- 23:01Speaker 4: Fairfield Inn, the Hilton. You know, they've all helped us
- 23:06Speaker 4: out to make sure we can get good accommodations for
- 23:09Speaker 4: these people.
- 23:10Speaker 5: So it's just so cool because it's just the whole community.
- 23:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:14Speaker 6: Coming together to do to.
- 23:16Speaker 5: Do this that's wonderful you.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Know so we're really excited we're so so grateful.
- 23:23Speaker 2: And the date when is it it is so.
- 23:26Speaker 4: It starts october 15th our event here in bartlesville is
- 23:30Speaker 4: on the 16th and then up in copan on the
- 23:34Speaker 4: 17th awesome And it usually has some kind of a
- 23:38Speaker 4: service on Sunday morning for the people that camp.
- 23:40Speaker 6: And people come from all over, honestly, the world. You know,
- 23:44Speaker 6: we have Australia, Ireland, England.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Do you get any tickets? How do you get in?
- 23:49Speaker 5: So you go on to copiangarage.com.
- 23:51Speaker 6: We ask that you go on.
- 23:53Speaker 4: If you're going to walk any part of the walk
- 23:55Speaker 4: with us, you need to sign a release. And that's
- 23:59Speaker 4: on Copiangarage. That you register that you're going to come
- 24:03Speaker 4: to the auctions. So we know about how many people
- 24:07Speaker 4: to expect, food, drinks, that kind of stuff. And then
- 24:11Speaker 4: your ticket to the barbecue, you buy a ticket to
- 24:16Speaker 4: the barbecue, and that includes your music experience as well.
- 24:22Speaker 4: So it's all on the copiangarage.com. There's a link on
- 24:29Speaker 4: Hopestone's page. There's a link on Paths to Independence' page, so... Yeah,
- 24:35Speaker 4: it's just I'm really excited this year, and hopefully it's
- 24:39Speaker 4: not going to rain on us.
- 24:41Speaker 6: It's rained for the last.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Two years, but we have a lot of people, you know,
- 24:47Speaker 4: just praying it doesn't rain on us this year.
- 24:49Speaker 6: But if it does, it does. The show goes on.
- 24:52Speaker 6: It does go on. The show goes on, and we
- 24:55Speaker 6: figure it out along the way.
- 24:57Speaker 4: Dwayne is fantastic at shooting from the hip, and that's
- 25:01Speaker 4: my favorite thing too. Me and plans don't always work out.
- 25:06Speaker 6: But we just do.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Whatever we have to do. Make a plan, but then
- 25:08Speaker 2: you learn to adjust.
- 25:09Speaker 4: So they can go on to www.hopestonecancer.org.
- 25:17Speaker 6: And see what's going on.
- 25:18Speaker 4: Our Facebook page, Copan Garage Facebook page, Past Independence, I'm
- 25:25Speaker 4: sure they have it on their page as well.
- 25:29Speaker 6: But it's just a huge.
- 25:30Speaker 4: Wonderful event. There's some posters up. There's QR codes. People
- 25:34Speaker 4: can choose which organization they want their donation to go
- 25:38Speaker 4: to by just scanning the barcode.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Or both.
- 25:42Speaker 4: They can do, you know, part to both. That way
- 25:46Speaker 4: everything just goes directly to the organization. We don't have
- 25:49Speaker 4: to worry about cash and checks, things like that. Of course, people,
- 25:55Speaker 4: you know, we're happy to take.
- 25:57Speaker 6: Your money and put it to good use. But, yeah.
- 26:03Speaker 6: It's just really cool.
- 26:04Speaker 2: We're super excited.
- 26:05Speaker 3: What a great event, and we're excited to help you
- 26:10Speaker 3: promote it. And hope everybody out there, if you don't
- 26:13Speaker 3: have anything going on those days, come get some great barbecue.
- 26:19Speaker 3: That event on Saturday is going to.
- 26:21Speaker 4: Be really amazing.
- 26:23Speaker 6: Friday, we raise a lot of money. We raise a
- 26:25Speaker 6: lot of money.
- 26:26Speaker 2: That's the big moneymaker.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Uh-huh. There's kind of a lot of room for folks
- 26:31Speaker 3: out there in Copan. Do go to the website, get
- 26:34Speaker 3: more details on times, and sign up to the various
- 26:39Speaker 3: programs you want.
- 26:40Speaker 2: To participate in.
- 26:41Speaker 6: Yeah, so it's great. We're excited.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Thank you, Debbie. We appreciate everything you do.
- 26:47Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Thank you for coming to help us make a good
- 26:50Speaker 2: radio show again. Thank you for your donation. Of course.
- 26:54Speaker 6: We appreciate that. You're always there to support us, and
- 26:56Speaker 6: we really do appreciate it.
- 26:57Speaker 3: We love to support great things in Bartlesville. That's kind
- 27:01Speaker 3: of our calling, I think. We do it out of
- 27:05Speaker 3: our hearts because you do a great job.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Where can we find you every day, Brad?
- 27:11Speaker 3: Well, at 1911 Southeast Washington Boulevard. I'll be out there
- 27:15Speaker 3: again in a few minutes in my office on the showroom.
- 27:18Speaker 3: That's one thing that's great about Dunge's Toyota is we're
- 27:20Speaker 3: really there. We're not a big corporate dealer. Family run
- 27:26Speaker 3: and owned and operated now for 96 years, something like that.
- 27:30Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 27:32Speaker 6: Awesome.
- 27:33Speaker 1: And on the web, we can get you, too.
- 27:36Speaker 2: That's dungestoyota.com.
- 27:37Speaker 3: Lots of great tools to help you, helping your purchase
- 27:42Speaker 3: or service experience, and more good stuff coming. And that way,
- 27:46Speaker 3: we're always investing in things to make it easier to
- 27:50Speaker 3: buy or service your car.
- 27:51Speaker 1: All right. Well, if you've been watching and listening to
- 27:54Speaker 1: our program called Car Talk, we have the Dungestoyota right
- 27:57Speaker 1: here online.
