- 0:04Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Hello, Big
- 0:13Speaker 1: Blue Nation, Welcome to Just the Cats. My name is
- 0:17Speaker 1: Michael Bennan. On this Wednesday, May thirteen. I wasn't expecting
- 0:21Speaker 1: that today, But man, I do my best to prepare
- 0:24Speaker 1: for certain things you're going to say, and this one
- 0:26Speaker 1: I forget every freaking time, and it just blows my mind.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I don't know why I do it every week. I
- 0:33Speaker 1: know you do it every week, but it's still I'm
- 0:35Speaker 1: not expecting it. Well, I just I've had a lot
- 0:38Speaker 1: of things on my mind lately, So I just want
- 0:40Speaker 1: you to know I got things on my mind. Justin
- 0:43Speaker 1: I got I got places to be, people.
- 0:45Speaker 2: To see heard. Yeah, mister popular. No no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 0:49Speaker 2: let's not say that. I am not mister popular. I
- 0:52Speaker 2: think I'm far from mister popular. After yesterday, I beg, no, no, no,
- 0:58Speaker 2: let's not say that either. But yeah, yesterday it was
- 1:02Speaker 2: kind of fun. But listen, I enjoyed it. I mean,
- 1:06Speaker 2: I want to talk about that again in just a
- 1:07Speaker 2: little bit. But that was a lot of fun.
- 1:10Speaker 1: But we have other things to talk about today, and
- 1:13Speaker 1: if you want to give us a call, you can
- 1:15Speaker 1: talk about whatever you want to talk about five O
- 1:17Speaker 1: two four five What is it? Five O two three
- 1:20Speaker 1: eight four fourteen fifty five O two four one four
- 1:23Speaker 1: fourteen fifty You want to text in on the Whiskey
- 1:24Speaker 1: Thief text line, or you can tweet me at just
- 1:26Speaker 1: Cat Radio. I do want to talk about something real quick,
- 1:29Speaker 1: because here's a couple of there's major things happening in Louisville, Kentucky.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Is there, Oh my goodness? Well, first of all, I
- 1:39Speaker 1: sixty five is getting ready to shut down between downtown
- 1:43Speaker 1: and the airport. That's one major thing. Then you got
- 1:46Speaker 1: all the construction going on at Waterston Expressway and I
- 1:52Speaker 1: seventy one, and now you got the threat of my
- 1:58Speaker 1: little town suburb of Prospect, Kentucky. I don't know if
- 2:02Speaker 1: you've seen the news. They're getting ready to spend several
- 2:07Speaker 1: million dollars on building a downtown Prospect, Kentucky. They wanted
- 2:13Speaker 1: to be like Norton Commons right exactly. And I'm thinking,
- 2:17Speaker 1: who wants a downtown? But I don't know. It might
- 2:20Speaker 1: be kind of cool, But what I'm worried about it's
- 2:24Speaker 1: going to create even more havoc in my area trying
- 2:26Speaker 1: to get into anywhere. Do you want to be a
- 2:28Speaker 1: traffic town. Oh, oh, of course we need a downtown.
- 2:31Speaker 1: We're a thriving metropolis of Prospect, Kentucky. We are going
- 2:35Speaker 1: to outgrow downtown Louisville and people are going to know
- 2:38Speaker 1: Prospect before they know Louisville anymore. We're gonna start our
- 2:41Speaker 1: own Kentucky Derby. We're gonna call it the Prospect Derby.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I'm in Are you really that's anything as fun as
- 2:47Speaker 2: the Kentucky Derby?
- 2:48Speaker 1: Yeah? Well, uh, there will be a drinking involved, so
- 2:52Speaker 1: in a large imagination. Okay, so that's essentially what maybe
- 2:57Speaker 1: some of your devil's let us. But anyway, so well, yeah,
- 3:00Speaker 1: I you know, I saw the news and it's been
- 3:03Speaker 1: all over the place as far as Prospect and as
- 3:09Speaker 1: as and I thought that's interesting. Would you like a
- 3:15Speaker 1: the big announcement of a downtown now being developed in
- 3:19Speaker 1: your neighborhood? I mean we so.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Honestly, the city where I live, I don't know where
- 3:25Speaker 2: even the downtown area would be considered.
- 3:27Speaker 1: What's the city you live at? Sellersburgh? Okay, you live
- 3:30Speaker 1: in Sellersburg. Is it not a downtown Sellersburg?
- 3:32Speaker 2: I guess the downtown part would be like the part
- 3:35Speaker 2: that nobody really ever even goes to, because yeah, Sellersburg
- 3:39Speaker 2: kind of spread out. So yeah, I don't know, I
- 3:42Speaker 2: don't I guess I'd be okay with it. Not like
- 3:45Speaker 2: it's gonna intrigue me to go down there anymore often.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Well, I like the town squares. I mean, you know,
- 3:50Speaker 1: you go to Lagrange, Kentucky. I think it's really pretty.
- 3:53Speaker 1: We go to the restaurants up there every now and
- 3:55Speaker 1: then you go to sheby Ville. There is a restaurant
- 3:58Speaker 1: in Shevyval It's one of my all time favorite. Uh.
- 4:01Speaker 1: You go to Bartown has a downtown. They all have squares,
- 4:05Speaker 1: and there's a lot of them up in Indiana as well.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Salem for one. Madison I think has a really nice downtown.
- 4:13Speaker 1: They're all kinds.
- 4:14Speaker 2: So now they have no power? What Yeah, you didn't
- 4:17Speaker 2: hear about that? Who doesn't Big Madison one of their
- 4:21Speaker 2: big historic churches caught fire.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Oh I did see that. Yeah, that was a shame.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I guess one of the walls collapsed and the whole
- 4:27Speaker 2: town was without power yesterday.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Anytime in an old building, mainly an old church,
- 4:34Speaker 1: burns down, I always kind of feel sad about that.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Do you hear how it started. No, I had no,
- 4:37Speaker 1: I have no golf cart.
- 4:39Speaker 2: What Yeah, an electric golf cart caught fire and somehow
- 4:43Speaker 2: it spread to the church.
- 4:44Speaker 1: It must have gotten wet. Here's what happened. The lithium
- 4:47Speaker 1: battery that's in that golf cart got wet and created
- 4:49Speaker 1: a fire. That's what happened with all the hurricane damage
- 4:53Speaker 1: in Saint Petersburg and Tampa. That's why a lot of
- 4:56Speaker 1: houses burned to the ground after the hurricanes down there
- 4:59Speaker 1: a couple of years ago, because either they had a
- 5:02Speaker 1: golf cart and or they had a electric car and
- 5:09Speaker 1: salt water. It could have been because of the saltwater,
- 5:11Speaker 1: but it saltwater does not mesh well with lithium batteries. Interesting. Yeah,
- 5:16Speaker 1: so it was all because of a golf cart. That's interesting. Okay, well,
- 5:19Speaker 1: I'm so sorry to hear that. But anyway, all right.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Of course, I'm watching that news reel about on one
- 5:27Speaker 1: of the local channels, and then all of a sudden
- 5:30Speaker 1: there's a story about will Stein. I'm oh, I want
- 5:34Speaker 1: to hear this, and they start talking about the the
- 5:38Speaker 1: the subject we were talking about, and I'm like, oh,
- 5:41Speaker 1: this is cool. They started talking about you know, the
- 5:43Speaker 1: uk U of L game with Will Stein and it's like, oh,
- 5:46Speaker 1: Michael Bennett of Just the Cats. I'm like, oh, And
- 5:49Speaker 1: then they showed on their graphic, uh, courtesy of Just
- 5:53Speaker 1: the Cats. Did you? I want to know, did you
- 5:56Speaker 1: give them courtesy to use our our show yesterday?
- 6:01Speaker 2: No? I didn't either, So who's the courtesy of? Great question?
- 6:07Speaker 2: Wave three? Yeah, I would like to know who the
- 6:09Speaker 2: courtesy came from. WDRB also did a story.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Oh they did. Yeah, I didn't know that. Did they
- 6:15Speaker 1: use courtesy of Michael Bennett Just the Cats? They they
- 6:18Speaker 1: mentioned you in the show in the article. Yes, I
- 6:21Speaker 1: don't know that they played any of the audio. Okay,
- 6:23Speaker 1: So a few of the Lexington stations called me yesterday Michael,
- 6:26Speaker 1: can we get some of the audio? And I sent
- 6:28Speaker 1: it to him, So they did ask. Wave three is
- 6:31Speaker 1: not asking I find I thought that was funny. I'm
- 6:34Speaker 1: not going to do it. I'm just kidding the guys
- 6:36Speaker 1: at Wave three. It doesn't hurt my feelings. I appreciate
- 6:39Speaker 1: you using my name, but I think it's funny that
- 6:41Speaker 1: they said courtesy.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Of I thought it was funny that out of that
- 6:45Speaker 2: whole interview, and once it was over, we had discussed it,
- 6:48Speaker 2: and what stood out to us we didn't bring up
- 6:51Speaker 2: the whole Louisville thing.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Like that was.
- 6:54Speaker 2: And I was telling people yesterday, you didn't even phrase
- 6:57Speaker 2: the question in a way where he should have answered
- 6:59Speaker 2: it like that, right, and right after the interview was over,
- 7:02Speaker 2: I didn't think anything else about it. And then I
- 7:04Speaker 2: start getting it. I get a text from Nick Roush, Hey,
- 7:07Speaker 2: I want the let me know when you upload the show.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I want the audio of the Louisville clip. And I'm like, wait, what,
- 7:12Speaker 2: like out of that whole interview, that's what everybody's clinging to.
- 7:15Speaker 1: That's what I thought. It's like, is it really well?
- 7:17Speaker 1: And then I remembered, oh, Mark Stoops and Mitch Barnhardt
- 7:22Speaker 1: wanted to get rid of the UK uo L game
- 7:27Speaker 1: and now bringing Will Stein, he wants to you know,
- 7:31Speaker 1: former U of L football player, diehard UK fan wants
- 7:35Speaker 1: to keep it. Not only that, but he wants to
- 7:39Speaker 1: switch it back from the last game of the year
- 7:41Speaker 1: to the first game of the year. And you know,
- 7:43Speaker 1: all the U OFL fan base went nuts when uk
- 7:49Speaker 1: wanted to switch it to the last game of the year.
- 7:51Speaker 1: And he's like, oh, no, no, no, we want to
- 7:53Speaker 1: keep it first game. Now UK wants to switch it
- 7:56Speaker 1: because our head coach wants to switch it the first
- 7:58Speaker 1: game there. Oh no, no, we want to keep it
- 7:59Speaker 1: last game of the year. It's like, what's your deal
- 8:02Speaker 1: anything UK wants to do. UL wants to do the
- 8:05Speaker 1: complete opposite, even if it was a benefit to them.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I do think there's pros and cons for both scenarios,
- 8:12Speaker 2: and I really don't think either fan base actually cares
- 8:15Speaker 2: as long as the game's being played. I don't know
- 8:17Speaker 2: how much it even matters whether it's first game or
- 8:19Speaker 2: the last. All right, well, let's go through the pros
- 8:21Speaker 2: and cons. What is the pro and con of the
- 8:26Speaker 2: game being played last game of the year. I mean,
- 8:30Speaker 2: obviously your pros are you're in rivalry week. You're playing
- 8:33Speaker 2: at the same time or the same day as every
- 8:36Speaker 2: other rivalry across the country.
- 8:38Speaker 1: So to me, that's a con. You think, so nobody
- 8:41Speaker 1: cares about the uk U of L football game. Only
- 8:45Speaker 1: people that do are the coaches, the players, and their families.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I think the fan base here locally does. But outside
- 8:52Speaker 1: of that, that's it. Yeah, I mean no, no, it's
- 8:54Speaker 1: not drawing a national audience. That's what I mean, I
- 8:56Speaker 1: agree now the UK U of L basketball game no
- 8:59Speaker 1: offense my football fans. That draws attention throughout the country
- 9:03Speaker 1: for sure, for sure, but only so to me. That's
- 9:06Speaker 1: a bit of a con go through another con I.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Mean, obviously, cons are if either one of these teams
- 9:14Speaker 2: are looking for a bowl game or bowl eligible and
- 9:17Speaker 2: the other team's able to stop you, or even Mike
- 9:20Speaker 2: Rutherford yesterday brought up the scenario if if Louisville's like
- 9:23Speaker 2: ten to one going into that game and they're firmly
- 9:27Speaker 2: in the playoffs, and then Kentucky finds a way to
- 9:30Speaker 2: win that game and it keeps Louisville out of the playoff,
- 9:33Speaker 2: that would be a.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Con either way.
- 9:34Speaker 2: If Kentucky's in a similar situation, yes, I like it
- 9:38Speaker 2: better at the beginning of the year. I think it's
- 9:40Speaker 2: I think it's much better at the beginning.
- 9:42Speaker 1: If we're being forced to play this game that UK
- 9:45Speaker 1: has been forced to play, that saved U of L football.
- 9:48Speaker 1: And you can argue that all you want. UK saved
- 9:53Speaker 1: U of L football. They did, and you'll never be
- 9:57Speaker 1: able to convince me any differently. But if they played
- 10:01Speaker 1: it first of the year, here's the pro If U
- 10:05Speaker 1: of L does lose to UK, they can overcome that
- 10:09Speaker 1: loss throughout the season and still make the playoffs. The
- 10:13Speaker 1: con for UK if they play this game first of
- 10:16Speaker 1: the year, it's kind of the end of the season
- 10:20Speaker 1: because if they lose that game and then have the schedule,
- 10:25Speaker 1: the Gauntlet schedule that they have to go through within
- 10:28Speaker 1: the SEC man, that just ends your season the very
- 10:32Speaker 1: first game of the year.
- 10:33Speaker 2: But wasn't it so much more fun being in this
- 10:36Speaker 2: area when that was the first game of the year
- 10:39Speaker 2: because you get all the lead up, you talk about
- 10:42Speaker 2: it all summer long. Everybody's just anticipating and looking forward
- 10:45Speaker 2: to the matchup, whereas now it's like you don't even
- 10:49Speaker 2: think about it until the last week of the season.
- 10:50Speaker 1: See, I'm right there with you. That's what I loved
- 10:53Speaker 1: about it, because I can tell you right now, we
- 10:55Speaker 1: would be talking about UKU of L if it was
- 10:58Speaker 1: the first game of the year.
- 11:00Speaker 2: And we haven't talked any Kentucky Youngstown State because quite frankly,
- 11:03Speaker 2: who cares. It's May and nobody cares at this jokes exactly.
- 11:06Speaker 1: So if it was the U of L game, yes,
- 11:08Speaker 1: we would be talking about that game all summer long.
- 11:13Speaker 1: So that's one of it, and I think it brings
- 11:15Speaker 1: excitement to both fan bases the entire state, which you know,
- 11:19Speaker 1: majority of the time we're talking basketball. I mean, I
- 11:23Speaker 1: feel like, come on, guys, let's talk a little bit
- 11:25Speaker 1: about football. That's the next thing that's coming up. I
- 11:28Speaker 1: get it that we're we're talking basketball because we're right
- 11:31Speaker 1: in the heat of hopefully more players are going to
- 11:35Speaker 1: join Mark Pope. But on the other hand, the next
- 11:37Speaker 1: season that's up next is football, and we would be
- 11:42Speaker 1: talking all about football. So that is a major pro
- 11:47Speaker 1: as far as having the game first. But it's a
- 11:50Speaker 1: benefit to u of L because no offense to the
- 11:52Speaker 1: u of L schedule. After they play UK in that
- 11:55Speaker 1: very first game, they don't have a difficult schedule. They
- 11:59Speaker 1: just don't. The ACC is the weakest football conference in
- 12:02Speaker 1: the country of the power for so, I mean, I
- 12:08Speaker 1: think there's other conferences out there that might be strung
- 12:10Speaker 1: on the ACC. I wish UK played in the ACC. Man,
- 12:14Speaker 1: they would be in a bowl game every year and
- 12:16Speaker 1: an opportunity to play in the playoffs every single year,
- 12:20Speaker 1: especially the team they got coming in next year. Man,
- 12:23Speaker 1: I'd love to go through u of L schedule, right
- 12:26Speaker 1: now and tell you what games I think UK would win.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I don't know who they're playing. Well, why don't you
- 12:32Speaker 1: pull it up? So because I look at U of L,
- 12:35Speaker 1: I think U of L would win probably the same games. Now,
- 12:38Speaker 1: do I think U of L will win against UK? Yes,
- 12:42Speaker 1: but that's only because here. The only reason is this
- 12:47Speaker 1: is a brand new team for UK and it's the
- 12:49Speaker 1: first season for will Stein. Those are the only cons
- 12:53Speaker 1: I see in that game right there, And that man
- 12:56Speaker 1: Minshi get out there and he has a full season
- 12:59Speaker 1: ahead of hand, and they play this game last. Guess what,
- 13:02Speaker 1: I feel really good about this game if it was
- 13:05Speaker 1: the very first game of this year with will starin
- 13:07Speaker 1: in the football program. Oh, I'm nervous. But you know,
- 13:12Speaker 1: maybe when we go through all the games and this
- 13:14Speaker 1: is the twelfth game of the season, and guess what,
- 13:17Speaker 1: there might be some changes. There might be yere now
- 13:20Speaker 1: through your first season, and they have a better shot
- 13:23Speaker 1: at beating u of L. Right, who is it? Does
- 13:26Speaker 1: Kentucky beat Ole Miss? Kentucky does not beat Ole Miss? Okay? Yeah,
- 13:31Speaker 1: because that game's in Nashville, isn't it is? Yeah? Yes,
- 13:34Speaker 1: that's Memorial Day weekend. That's their very first game. That's
- 13:36Speaker 1: a great matchup. I don't think U of L beats
- 13:38Speaker 1: Olemiss either. I think Ole Miss handily beats them. What
- 13:43Speaker 1: about Villanova, surely that would be a win. UK would
- 13:46Speaker 1: beat Villanova.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yes, smut, you get SMU at home?
- 13:50Speaker 1: Yeah? I think UK would beat SMU at home. How
- 13:53Speaker 1: about wake Forest at home? UK would definitely beat wake
- 13:56Speaker 1: Forest at home.
- 13:57Speaker 2: How About out on the road at NC I think
- 14:00Speaker 2: UK would beat NC State down there in North Carolina.
- 14:04Speaker 2: How about at home against Florida State. I think UK
- 14:08Speaker 2: beats Florida State. Right there, you go five games, UK.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Has already won.
- 14:12Speaker 2: We're sunshine, Paul Man, we are smoking in the ACC.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Go ahead. How About on the road at Syracuse? I
- 14:18Speaker 1: think UK beat Syracuse? All right?
- 14:20Speaker 2: How about at home against Stanford? Beat Stanford? Keats killing
- 14:25Speaker 2: You're killing me. They're gonna beat them by three touchdowns.
- 14:28Speaker 2: What about on the road at Georgia Tech. Keep in mind,
- 14:32Speaker 2: Georgia Tech's quarterback is Fernando's little brother.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I understand, but you know what the motivation is gonna
- 14:37Speaker 1: come out in. UK is going to Atlanta to beat
- 14:39Speaker 1: Georgia Tech. How about if they go to UNC and
- 14:42Speaker 1: play them? Oh, that's an easy game because Belichick, I mean,
- 14:46Speaker 1: Belichick's more worried about whereas dinner, bet reservations are and
- 14:49Speaker 1: what kind of desert he's going to have with his girlfriend.
- 14:51Speaker 2: And then at home against Pittsburgh. Oh, that's another easy game.
- 14:54Speaker 2: They have gone undefeated so far in the ACC. And
- 14:57Speaker 2: then Kentucky on the road. Oh okay, so they beat
- 15:01Speaker 2: u of L. So they play u of L in
- 15:03Speaker 2: Louisville is what it would be? So yeah, I think
- 15:05Speaker 2: that would probably first year and be a loss. So
- 15:08Speaker 2: now you have one lost UK that's now in the playoffs.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Now you're ten and two. I'm who else did they
- 15:14Speaker 2: lose to?
- 15:14Speaker 1: You had Louisville and Old Miss? Oh that's right, that's right.
- 15:17Speaker 1: So they lost to Old Miss and they lost to
- 15:19Speaker 1: u of L. That's a great season and you're playing
- 15:23Speaker 1: in a major bowl and possibly getting into the playoffs.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You're in the play Oh yeah, I mean that's why
- 15:29Speaker 1: U of L. It's like, what are you thinking? Man?
- 15:31Speaker 1: You shouldn't worry about playing in the UK because you
- 15:34Speaker 1: got to go through all these other games here. Make
- 15:36Speaker 1: sure you win those and you're in the playoffs every
- 15:38Speaker 1: single year because you got an easy schedule you don't
- 15:41Speaker 1: even have though.
- 15:41Speaker 2: They don't even have Clemson this year they got beat
- 15:44Speaker 2: by Clemson, Virginia and cal State Fullerton. They don't have
- 15:48Speaker 2: Clemson or Miami. I tried the other Miami. So they
- 15:53Speaker 2: have the easiest schedule. I would have to say in
- 15:56Speaker 2: the ACCON probably, So yeah, because you're not playing your
- 15:59Speaker 2: time only somewhat tough team. You're playing maybe SMU maybe,
- 16:04Speaker 2: but that's a rebuilt team, and maybe Florida State, which,
- 16:07Speaker 2: come on, Florida State's not the Florida State of old.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Completely. So you look at that and you think, oh
- 16:14Speaker 1: my gosh, man, that's an easy schedule. You're not playing
- 16:17Speaker 1: Virginia a lost of them last year, you're not playing
- 16:20Speaker 1: playing in Miami Rginia, and you're not playing cal State.
- 16:24Speaker 2: You don't have to play Duke either, who technically won
- 16:26Speaker 2: the last year.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean you're telling me UK couldn't win that
- 16:31Speaker 1: schedule right there? Where do you have UK in that
- 16:35Speaker 1: schedule any more losses than I had? I think you do.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd probably have them eight and four. Let me
- 16:44Speaker 2: pull it back up. I would say there was one
- 16:47Speaker 2: that you threw in. I was like, I don't know
- 16:49Speaker 2: about that Syracuse State. I don't think SMU at home
- 16:53Speaker 2: is going to be all that easy, Okay, So I
- 16:55Speaker 2: would have them losing to SMU and then probably either
- 17:00Speaker 2: on the road at U n C or on the
- 17:03Speaker 2: road at Georgiatown. Does this have Mike Rutherford fired up?
- 17:05Speaker 2: If I said all this stuff and he heard it. Oh,
- 17:07Speaker 2: he's not listening. I know he's not listening. But would
- 17:10Speaker 2: he be fired up?
- 17:11Speaker 3: No?
- 17:11Speaker 2: Probably not. Okay, he's pretty level headed, is he really?
- 17:14Speaker 1: Okay? So he's level headed that he knows U of
- 17:17Speaker 1: L has a very light football Seah.
- 17:19Speaker 2: They were talking about it on yesterday show. Oh there
- 17:21Speaker 2: you were okay?
- 17:22Speaker 1: Good? So you had no offense to him. I wouldn't
- 17:24Speaker 1: listen it. But I look at that and think, okay,
- 17:28Speaker 1: that's easy. Now if if if the game was moved
- 17:32Speaker 1: to the first game, I think it's worse for UK
- 17:35Speaker 1: than it is for U of L. I think it's
- 17:36Speaker 1: great for the fan base. Lose if you lose, yes,
- 17:40Speaker 1: but if you win, that gives you serious momentum going
- 17:42Speaker 1: through the restless schedule. Yeah, it does, because if you
- 17:48Speaker 1: if you go through the schedule and you don't have
- 17:51Speaker 1: a great season and then you have to play, you know,
- 17:54Speaker 1: your so called rival U of L the last game
- 17:57Speaker 1: of the year. It makes it tough. I mean, it
- 18:00Speaker 1: makes it tough for the fan base and makes it
- 18:02Speaker 1: tough for the football team because you know, there's like
- 18:04Speaker 1: I just want this season to end, So I would
- 18:07Speaker 1: I would never say a team quits, but it doesn't
- 18:11Speaker 1: look like their heart is into it as much as
- 18:13Speaker 1: it was before. You look at the game last year,
- 18:18Speaker 1: that team wasn't really in it. No, I mean that
- 18:20Speaker 1: was just an absolute blowout. Now I think this year,
- 18:25Speaker 1: first year will Stein, I think he can keep Even
- 18:27Speaker 1: if UK only wins three or four games and they
- 18:30Speaker 1: get to the U of L game, I still think
- 18:32Speaker 1: will Stein can motivate them say hey, guys, we're going
- 18:36Speaker 1: out with heart. We're an improved team. Let's get ready
- 18:39Speaker 1: for next year. But first let's beat uo L.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I mean yeah, because it means something to him, and
- 18:44Speaker 2: I don't think he'll be able to portray that onto
- 18:46Speaker 2: the players.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Yeah, because where's the game gonna be played this year?
- 18:48Speaker 1: It's gonna be played. Oh it is, It's it's in Lexington. Yeah,
- 18:54Speaker 1: so this will be Vince Merrill's first time back in Lexington.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so uh, okay, yeah, big Dog's gonna be
- 19:02Speaker 1: h having a hard day that day. And I hate
- 19:04Speaker 1: to hear that, but uh, anyway, I just I saw
- 19:07Speaker 1: that and I thought, why is everybody talking about the
- 19:09Speaker 1: Ukuo of L game? But then I remembered about Mitch
- 19:12Speaker 1: Barnhardt wanting to get rid of it and Mark Soups
- 19:15Speaker 1: want to get rid of it.
- 19:16Speaker 2: It was just it was crazy yesterday, how big of
- 19:18Speaker 2: a story up became.
- 19:19Speaker 1: It was fun. It was fun. It was it was
- 19:21Speaker 1: not expected. I just thought I was doing an interview
- 19:24Speaker 1: and I thought it did a terrible job. So there
- 19:26Speaker 1: you go. But it was fun and uh so yeah,
- 19:30Speaker 1: and I shouldn't say that. I in my mind, I
- 19:32Speaker 1: did the best job I could do, so uh and
- 19:35Speaker 1: I enjoyed it and I appreciate him coming back on.
- 19:37Speaker 1: I hope it comes back on.
- 19:38Speaker 2: John Wong said the best interview yet.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh you saw that. Yeah that was something else.
- 19:43Speaker 1: So anyway, all right, we got to take a break.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Fable two three eight four fourteen fifty. You want to
- 19:47Speaker 1: call in Favel two four one four fourteen fifty, Uh,
- 19:51Speaker 1: if you want to text in on the Whiskey Thief
- 19:52Speaker 1: text line, which we have literally no text today. So
- 19:57Speaker 1: I'm hoping, you know.
- 19:58Speaker 2: We get some text in a little bit because I
- 19:59Speaker 2: was unable to Oh was that it?
- 20:02Speaker 1: Everybody thought? Since you were out, I was gonna be
- 20:05Speaker 1: at No, I'm here. I'm right here. So anyway, give
- 20:09Speaker 1: me a text, give me a call, or you tweek
- 20:11Speaker 1: me at Just the Cat Radio. Stay. We got a
- 20:13Speaker 1: lot more to talk about on Just the Cats. Stay
- 20:15Speaker 1: right there.
- 20:16Speaker 4: You gonna bla from me and Trouble sing no more.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Was it you that didn't like this or was it
- 21:08Speaker 1: Matthew Math? Yeah, he didn't like it. I love this song. Yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 1: now you're turning it down. I love that song. So uh.
- 21:17Speaker 2: But anyway, that's what I gotta do when we get
- 21:19Speaker 2: them back. I know, but I know the conversation. I know,
- 21:22Speaker 2: but I just like it. Played it a little longer.
- 21:24Speaker 2: But I like that song so uh.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Because I think I hear that song, I think of
- 21:27Speaker 1: nothing none other than Louisville Bats. Interesting. Yeah, that's what,
- 21:33Speaker 1: because that's what they played before the game starts. Unless
- 21:36Speaker 1: it was last night, Oh what happened last night? They
- 21:39Speaker 1: had nothing night? Are you familiar with nothing night? No?
- 21:41Speaker 1: I have no idea what nothing night? So I want
- 21:43Speaker 1: to say.
- 21:44Speaker 2: This is maybe the third or fourth year that the
- 21:46Speaker 2: Bats have done this within the season. But they do nothing.
- 21:51Speaker 2: There's no music, no no PA, no no PA, no
- 21:55Speaker 2: advertising reads, It's literally just baseball.
- 21:59Speaker 1: I'm like that.
- 22:01Speaker 2: They call it nothing Night and they do absolutely nothing right,
- 22:04Speaker 2: no on field promotions. Wow, okay, I mean to advertise
- 22:10Speaker 2: baseball at its purest form.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I bet that is really funky. I bet it's weird. Yeah.
- 22:17Speaker 1: I bet you go there and you can hear the
- 22:19Speaker 1: radio announcer, probably so because it's so quiet. Yeah, I
- 22:23Speaker 1: think I would like Nothing Night and I wish i'd gone.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Are there is there another one? I don't think this year.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Now I think they only do one. They should do
- 22:31Speaker 1: probably multiple of them, because you know I've told well,
- 22:35Speaker 1: I've told you the first time that I was sitting
- 22:39Speaker 1: down at two lane with my son Mason, uh and
- 22:43Speaker 1: he started watching the ball game with his buddies, said
- 22:44Speaker 1: come on sit down with them. They didn't have any
- 22:47Speaker 1: sound on, and I thought this is weird, and they're like, yeah,
- 22:52Speaker 1: we like to use listen to music, or we listen
- 22:54Speaker 1: to nothing or just talk. And it took me a
- 22:58Speaker 1: minute then I started liking. So now I'm to the
- 23:02Speaker 1: point now it drives my wife up the wall. I'll
- 23:04Speaker 1: listen and watch games with nothing, no sound on, and
- 23:08Speaker 1: I love it. So I bet you I would enjoy
- 23:12Speaker 1: nothing night for the Louisville Bats. Do they you know
- 23:15Speaker 1: they experiment in minor league baseball? Oh? Yeah, they won't
- 23:19Speaker 1: do this kind of stuff in major league anything, will they.
- 23:23Speaker 2: I think if they see that it's successful at the
- 23:25Speaker 2: minor league level, I could see them implementing some stuff
- 23:28Speaker 2: like this. But yeah, it does feel like minor league
- 23:30Speaker 2: baseball takes more chances than the majors.
- 23:33Speaker 1: The pacer games I've gone to, it's way too loud
- 23:35Speaker 1: and way too much music. I agree, it's just way
- 23:37Speaker 1: too much. NBA games are weird. Yeah, I think this
- 23:40Speaker 1: is like, please stop, just let let the game play
- 23:43Speaker 1: out for a little bit. We don't have to constantly
- 23:45Speaker 1: play music. And I don't need to see more dancers
- 23:48Speaker 1: on the court. Okay, you know, once or twice a game,
- 23:51Speaker 1: that's great. Then you know, escort them off and that's enough.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Drives me nuts anyway, But I might have to get
- 24:01Speaker 1: myself involved in that. I think I would be good.
- 24:03Speaker 1: All right, let's go to the phone lines five O two, three, eight, four,
- 24:05Speaker 1: fourteen fifty. John's on the line.
- 24:06Speaker 5: What's up, John, Michael and Justin? We swept him last night.
- 24:12Speaker 5: We're we're Bowling League champs. We won every game.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Oh you did? Congratulations?
- 24:19Speaker 5: Yeah, super super excited. You know what I said to
- 24:23Speaker 5: Michael this morning when I was I did a quick
- 24:25Speaker 5: live because Justin didn't have his show on and that sucked.
- 24:28Speaker 5: But I did a quick live and I said, there
- 24:32Speaker 5: was two things I announced, and one was the bowling thing.
- 24:34Speaker 5: And I said, it wasn't even about winning a championship.
- 24:37Speaker 5: It was about we got a new teammate, Robert, and
- 24:40Speaker 5: he did a really good job coming in for us.
- 24:43Speaker 5: I put my ego to the side and moved a
- 24:45Speaker 5: third and let him move to anchor because he was
- 24:47Speaker 5: just a better bowler. And I said, you know what,
- 24:50Speaker 5: let's go do something special. And we didn't do just
- 24:53Speaker 5: something special by winning, we created friendships. So that's going
- 24:56Speaker 5: to be a lifetime for Justin.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Justin did he bring in a ringer? It sounds like exact,
- 25:02Speaker 2: I think so. I think the more important question is John,
- 25:05Speaker 2: what did you get out of this? We need to
- 25:07Speaker 2: know what you got out of it?
- 25:08Speaker 1: Now, Where did you win, so.
- 25:10Speaker 5: So we're we get money for winning. I do know
- 25:14Speaker 5: we pay way more money in than what we're going
- 25:16Speaker 5: to get back, so we will not make a profit
- 25:18Speaker 5: off this, So that that's the I don't think we will.
- 25:21Speaker 5: The good news is though, we do have three bowlers
- 25:23Speaker 5: instead of four, because we had to use a vacant
- 25:25Speaker 5: because it's supposed to be if you have three guys,
- 25:28Speaker 5: you're supposed to have opposite sex, so have a female bowler.
- 25:31Speaker 5: So we didn't have a female bowler, so we get
- 25:34Speaker 5: to split the money between three, so we might get
- 25:36Speaker 5: a little bit more.
- 25:36Speaker 1: We will get paid.
- 25:37Speaker 5: I don't know how much yet. I get that next Tuesday,
- 25:40Speaker 5: but I can't. I think once again, Michael, I'm dead serious,
- 25:43Speaker 5: Like I gained friendship out of it. I mean, our
- 25:46Speaker 5: top bowler he vowed five eighty last night, I voted
- 25:48Speaker 5: a five thirty two. I mean, and then our other
- 25:51Speaker 5: bowler come through strong first game. Their first game was
- 25:54Speaker 5: their toughest game they had, and we just I mean,
- 25:56Speaker 5: our first bowler was so he was low on his score.
- 25:59Speaker 5: He came up one thirty and he and we told him,
- 26:01Speaker 5: we said, hey, we need a big we need a
- 26:03Speaker 5: big frame for you here in the tenth and U
- 26:07Speaker 5: and I said, just do what you can. He goes
- 26:09Speaker 5: up there and he knocks a turkey down, hits three
- 26:11Speaker 5: straight strikes.
- 26:12Speaker 1: No, you know, I literally don't have any idea what
- 26:16Speaker 1: any of that means. Just you don't know what a
- 26:17Speaker 1: turkey is. I've never heard of a turkey. I know
- 26:20Speaker 1: what a turkey is. I mean, I eat it on
- 26:21Speaker 1: thanks skin. Turkey's three straight strike, I've never heard of that.
- 26:25Speaker 1: And in the score, I have no idea if that's
- 26:27Speaker 1: good or bad. I assume it's good since he won
- 26:30Speaker 1: well at great.
- 26:32Speaker 2: But once you had a turkey on top of that that,
- 26:35Speaker 2: you're your turkey. You're right around two nd Right, where
- 26:38Speaker 2: did turkey come from?
- 26:39Speaker 1: I don't know if if.
- 26:41Speaker 5: He's not coming off a mark beforehand in the ninth,
- 26:43Speaker 5: which he wasn't, he just ended up from one thirty
- 26:46Speaker 5: to one sixty because he strike counts a stand off.
- 26:48Speaker 5: You come off of mark before that, it's double the
- 26:50Speaker 5: amount like for their next ball. Oh so, but still,
- 26:54Speaker 5: I mean, it was three big ones. But besides that,
- 26:57Speaker 5: I also got a pointed state delegate. Even though I
- 27:00Speaker 5: come up short in that election, the party chair did
- 27:02Speaker 5: appoint me state delegate. So I will be going to
- 27:05Speaker 5: the convention for that, and I'm excited about that. Michael.
- 27:09Speaker 5: God is good and you stay the course and keep
- 27:13Speaker 5: praising God and he'll keep leading you. I do want
- 27:16Speaker 5: to say one more thing, and I'll hop off because
- 27:18Speaker 5: I don't want to be too long. But we'll stein
- 27:20Speaker 5: will win more than three or four football games. Just
- 27:22Speaker 5: go down the home schedules. What we got with home games.
- 27:26Speaker 5: We're gonna beat Louisville and I think, I mean, obviously
- 27:29Speaker 5: you're gonna beat Youngstown. You got some other people there.
- 27:32Speaker 5: You'll win those games. I think Kentucky wins, Michael and Justin,
- 27:37Speaker 5: I think Kentucky wins between five and seven football games.
- 27:41Speaker 5: Is that crazy?
- 27:42Speaker 1: Wow, it's not crazy because the optimism has grown so much,
- 27:47Speaker 1: and you're right, people are going to be picking you
- 27:50Speaker 1: k to win more games than I think than not,
- 27:52Speaker 1: especially when you look at the recruiting that he's done.
- 27:55Speaker 1: So all right, John, We're gonna let you go anything
- 27:57Speaker 1: else real quick.
- 27:58Speaker 5: Nope, thanks guys.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Sounds good. Congratulations. I went in that. I didn't know
- 28:02Speaker 1: we would be talking bowling today and I would learn
- 28:04Speaker 1: a term called turkey and bowling. So I have an
- 28:06Speaker 1: update for you. Yes.
- 28:08Speaker 2: So apparently in the nineteenth and the early twentieth centuries, right,
- 28:12Speaker 2: they often held bowling tournaments around Thanksgiving or Christmas.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Oh really, and.
- 28:17Speaker 2: They often gave a real live turkey to the first
- 28:21Speaker 2: bowler who threw three consecutive strikes. Wow, so it just
- 28:25Speaker 2: stuck and now, okay, nice.
- 28:28Speaker 1: All right, let me get to a couple of texts
- 28:31Speaker 1: before we have to take a break. Five two, three,
- 28:33Speaker 1: four to one four fourteen fifty. Michelle said, wave, guys,
- 28:38Speaker 1: So she must be watching on YouTube. Hi, yeah, there
- 28:40Speaker 1: you go. So Josh said, phoebu God. That freaked me out.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Evidently he's used it more. I didn't know this. I
- 28:51Speaker 1: had a few people that said, now he's using a
- 28:53Speaker 1: couple of other interviews.
- 28:54Speaker 2: I went to my other radio station yesterday and I said, hey,
- 28:56Speaker 2: I got a new phrase for us to use.
- 28:58Speaker 1: She loved it. Yeah. One personaid, nothing night bats must
- 29:03Speaker 1: have gotten married rim shot. He Oh yeah, right there
- 29:09Speaker 1: at you. One person said, as God as my witness,
- 29:12Speaker 1: I thought turkeys could fly? Do you get that reference? Yeah?
- 29:16Speaker 1: I can't think of what movie that's from.
- 29:18Speaker 2: It.
- 29:18Speaker 1: It's not from a movie. It's a TV show. Yes,
- 29:21Speaker 1: WKRP in Cincinnati. Okay, yeah, I've heard that. And you know,
- 29:25Speaker 1: here's the funny part. So people of a certain age
- 29:29Speaker 1: like you do not know about what I thought was
- 29:33Speaker 1: one of the funniest sitcoms in the world called WKRP
- 29:38Speaker 1: in Cincinnati, which was on back in the late seventies
- 29:41Speaker 1: early eighties. Now, after that show was on, I guess
- 29:46Speaker 1: what fifty years ago? Now there is a real radio
- 29:50Speaker 1: station in Cincinnati, Ohio called WKRP. Do you like that?
- 29:57Speaker 1: A radio station now fifty years later, it's taken after
- 30:02Speaker 1: the sitcom from the early eighties.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean if the show was big then if
- 30:08Speaker 2: it yeah, I like advantage.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I mean they had a character named doctor Johnny Fever.
- 30:13Speaker 1: They had another character named Herb Turlock. But I just
- 30:19Speaker 1: think it's really cool. I can't read that. But just
- 30:21Speaker 1: go ahead and tell me who's on the line. We
- 30:22Speaker 1: got Buzz Okay, buzz, what's going on? Buzz?
- 30:26Speaker 6: Hey Michael, how are you doing today?
- 30:27Speaker 1: It's grace stay my life? Buzz how about you?
- 30:30Speaker 6: Oh, it doesn't get any better than this, my brother good?
- 30:35Speaker 6: So what you what you guys were talking about in
- 30:37Speaker 6: the first segment. Yes, I had a couple of thoughts
- 30:42Speaker 6: about that.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Number one, are you talking about the schedule a Are
- 30:46Speaker 2: you talking about UK beating and winning U of L
- 30:49Speaker 2: schedule or are you talking about UK.
- 30:51Speaker 1: And U of L game being moved? Which one?
- 30:55Speaker 6: I like it being the first game of the season
- 30:57Speaker 6: perfect and they're there's a couple of reasons. But number one,
- 31:01Speaker 6: you guys mentioned most of it. All the talk throughout
- 31:04Speaker 6: the summer is going to be UK U of L football,
- 31:07Speaker 6: and you don't hear that this time of year because
- 31:09Speaker 6: it's the last game. So I think that's good, and
- 31:12Speaker 6: that's good for the whole state, not just the two schools.
- 31:16Speaker 6: It's good for the whole state. But then the other thing,
- 31:19Speaker 6: I do believe that in some ways the advantage goes
- 31:23Speaker 6: to U of L. And my reasoning behind that is
- 31:27Speaker 6: is traditionally, you're going to have Kentucky being a big
- 31:30Speaker 6: state school with more money and an SEC school, they're
- 31:35Speaker 6: going to have a deeper, more athletic, more physical roster.
- 31:40Speaker 6: In the first game of the season, when people aren't
- 31:42Speaker 6: beat up from a whole season's worth of work, that
- 31:46Speaker 6: advantage kind of diminishes.
- 31:50Speaker 1: So who do you think that advantage goes to? UK
- 31:52Speaker 1: or u of L. I think it goes to u
- 31:55Speaker 1: of L.
- 31:57Speaker 6: I think it goes to u of L for that
- 31:59Speaker 6: reason that, yeah, don't have to be as deep because
- 32:02Speaker 6: you're going to play your first team more and you
- 32:05Speaker 6: don't have to sub in as much. You don't to
- 32:07Speaker 6: worry about as many injuries. I know you can get
- 32:09Speaker 6: hurt in preseason camp, but I think to me, U
- 32:14Speaker 6: of L should want the game first, just because the
- 32:17Speaker 6: depth is going to generally be on the other side
- 32:19Speaker 6: of the ball.
- 32:20Speaker 1: See And I kind of go the other way, Buzz,
- 32:22Speaker 1: because I think the advantage would be for UK since
- 32:25Speaker 1: UK has the more difficult schedule than u of L does,
- 32:30Speaker 1: so U of L consider a lot more of their
- 32:32Speaker 1: starters during the season as the season goes on, where
- 32:35Speaker 1: UK can't they got to use or they lose a
- 32:38Speaker 1: lot of their players to injury. So to me, the
- 32:41Speaker 1: advantage goes a little more to UK because they are
- 32:44Speaker 1: fresh and they are ready to play that very first game.
- 32:50Speaker 6: I think you make a valid point, but I think
- 32:53Speaker 6: Man's more valid. I think because you don't have to
- 32:55Speaker 6: go as deep in that first game of the season,
- 32:58Speaker 6: that you can play your start there's more minutes. I
- 33:01Speaker 6: think that swings it back in my direction.
- 33:03Speaker 2: I mean, doesn't it honestly, doesn't it make it better
- 33:06Speaker 2: be in the first game just because you don't have
- 33:08Speaker 2: all those injuries. How many times in past years have
- 33:11Speaker 2: we gotten to the last game of the season and
- 33:14Speaker 2: Louisville doesn't have one of their main guys or Kentucky
- 33:16Speaker 2: doesn't have one of their main guys. So for me,
- 33:19Speaker 2: I just want to see both teams at full strength,
- 33:21Speaker 2: which you would guarantee basically that that would happen if
- 33:24Speaker 2: it's weak one.
- 33:26Speaker 6: Oh yeah, And I think again for the Commonwealth and
- 33:31Speaker 6: for all both schools, but for everybody involved that I
- 33:35Speaker 6: think you're right, justin everybody wants to see the best
- 33:38Speaker 6: players out there, and you just don't get that at
- 33:40Speaker 6: the end of the season. Now, there are some other games,
- 33:43Speaker 6: other traditional games that I wouldn't move, but because the
- 33:48Speaker 6: U of l uk tradition started late compared to say
- 33:53Speaker 6: Auburn Alabama or Ohio State Michigan, I think that the
- 33:57Speaker 6: first game of the season is perfect.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I do too, And because not many people are into
- 34:04Speaker 1: any of the rivalries yet, and this is a time
- 34:07Speaker 1: for UKUL to spotlight their program because it is the
- 34:12Speaker 1: first rivalry game of the season and one of the
- 34:15Speaker 1: first of the seasons. So you know, we used to
- 34:17Speaker 1: play it on Sundays and there wasn't another college game,
- 34:21Speaker 1: so that was the only college game that day. Go bad.
- 34:24Speaker 1: I loved it. Go back to Sunday right of Labor
- 34:28Speaker 1: Day weekend. It was awesome.
- 34:30Speaker 6: So I just think that go ahead, national focus. When
- 34:35Speaker 6: when does U L in UK in football? You made
- 34:38Speaker 6: the point about basketball earlier, which was absolutely correct. But
- 34:42Speaker 6: in football, when the UK and UVL get the absolute
- 34:47Speaker 6: national spotlight for a football game at no time?
- 34:51Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, they do not get it at all. So
- 34:53Speaker 1: all right, buzz anything else before we let you go.
- 34:56Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm just wondering. I know you guys are really
- 34:59Speaker 6: how I'm real and I am too. But you mentioned
- 35:02Speaker 6: earlier also that UK saved U of L football, And
- 35:05Speaker 6: I'm old enough to remember being able to go to
- 35:08Speaker 6: convenient food marks back in the day and buy like
- 35:11Speaker 6: a gallon of milk and get like a five dollars
- 35:14Speaker 6: ticket to U of L football games.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Yes, and.
- 35:18Speaker 6: What did it take. It took Howard Schnellenberger. And let
- 35:21Speaker 6: me think, where did he play his college football?
- 35:23Speaker 5: Oh?
- 35:24Speaker 6: Yeah, UK to come into U of L and turn
- 35:28Speaker 6: the tad and his first season wasn't stellar for sure,
- 35:32Speaker 6: but he got people excited about U of L football.
- 35:36Speaker 6: And I think in some ways, and it's not the
- 35:39Speaker 6: same situation, don't get me wrong, but I think in
- 35:41Speaker 6: some ways, Will Stein, a U of L football player
- 35:45Speaker 6: going to UK, has really reignited the UK fan base
- 35:49Speaker 6: for football.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Yes he has. All right, thank you for calling in,
- 35:52Speaker 1: Buzz's always good to hear from you.
- 35:54Speaker 6: You guys, have a great day. Thanks a lot, good show.
- 35:56Speaker 1: All right, both, justin before we go to break. I
- 36:00Speaker 1: wouldn't change in his mind, was I? Yeah? He was
- 36:04Speaker 1: so going to be so stubborn about that. But but sorry, Buzz, Right,
- 36:08Speaker 1: he's an older guys. Older guys are stubborn. Well wait
- 36:10Speaker 1: a minute, now he is, I tell you the same.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Don't say that it was.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Can I tell you my favorite thing about older guys? Yes,
- 36:18Speaker 2: the way they say UK all say it the same way?
- 36:23Speaker 2: Which is U A k oh?
- 36:25Speaker 1: Is that crazy? One of Is that? Kay? It drives me? No? No, no,
- 36:31Speaker 1: it's like it's like the whole Vegas thing Vegas or
- 36:34Speaker 1: attract to you. No, there's when someone says you L.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Have you ever heard anybody say ull Oh. I have
- 36:42Speaker 1: heard a few people say you, and I'm like, you're
- 36:45Speaker 1: not from Louisville. No, I'm not. I go, dude, it's
- 36:47Speaker 1: U of L. I'm not a fan, but don't call
- 36:50Speaker 1: it u L. But yeah, you okay, you are right.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Older people do say you Okay. If you could show
- 36:57Speaker 1: that you of K, it's you a K.
- 36:59Speaker 2: If you can show me a guy that's over seventy
- 37:02Speaker 2: years old that does not say u AK, it'll.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Be crazy you you called. That's a good call right there.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I didn't even hear it because you're right. Older people
- 37:11Speaker 1: do say UK, and there will come that day when
- 37:14Speaker 1: no one will say u AKA anymore. Yeah, please don't
- 37:16Speaker 1: say UILL. Okay, maybe I should do that because that
- 37:19Speaker 1: will irritate a bunch of the U of L fans.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Just say UIL. But anyway, we gotta take another break.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Five O two three four fourteen fifty. You want to
- 37:26Speaker 1: call in, you can join the show, or you can
- 37:28Speaker 1: text me at five O two four one four fourteen
- 37:30Speaker 1: fifty on the Whiskey Thief text line. Stay right there
- 37:33Speaker 1: more Jessicat's coming up.
- 37:35Speaker 7: Bear Yes, sorry, you gotta play this longer.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I love the intro to this song right here. This
- 38:43Speaker 1: is something I would have turned up all the way
- 38:45Speaker 1: right now until my voice would come on. Evidently you
- 38:49Speaker 1: wouldn't do the same, I would. Would you? You like
- 38:52Speaker 1: Metallica have this song? Oh you do?
- 38:55Speaker 2: I don't know how much Metallica actually like.
- 38:58Speaker 1: They were great, all right? So a buw do you mind?
- 39:03Speaker 1: Took me to see Metallica one time. You can guess
- 39:07Speaker 1: who it was. But he had free tickets, you know.
- 39:09Speaker 1: He took me. I don't know why, but he took
- 39:11Speaker 1: me and we had a ball. I mean, it was
- 39:14Speaker 1: fun seeing them in concert, really good seats. By the way,
- 39:16Speaker 1: It's a little too hard for me, is it really?
- 39:19Speaker 1: I think the greatest part of the entire concert. There
- 39:21Speaker 1: was a guy in the upper upper level, in the
- 39:24Speaker 1: front row of the upper upper level, I'm looking up
- 39:26Speaker 1: to see how the crowd's reacting to this song. He
- 39:29Speaker 1: had this big old beer belly and a Budweiser in
- 39:33Speaker 1: his hand, I think, in both hands. He sets him down,
- 39:37Speaker 1: takes his shirt off, picks his beer up, picks his
- 39:40Speaker 1: shirt up and starts waving it as they're playing a song.
- 39:44Speaker 1: And I'm just watching that big old beer belly just
- 39:47Speaker 1: shake around. I mean it was It's like, Okay, he
- 39:50Speaker 1: had to be at least sixty sixty five years old
- 39:53Speaker 1: or older, probably been drinking bud heavy well, but probably
- 39:58Speaker 1: since he was ten or eleven. I'm smoking to Marlborough,
- 40:01Speaker 1: just letting you know. But I thought, Okay, that is
- 40:04Speaker 1: a guy having some real fun right there, and it
- 40:07Speaker 1: was to that song. I mean, it's weird how certain
- 40:11Speaker 1: songs make me think of certain things. And that's what
- 40:13Speaker 1: I think of every time I hear that that guy
- 40:15Speaker 1: here in Louisville, Kentucky just rocking it out taking his
- 40:18Speaker 1: shirt off at a concert. That is the last thing
- 40:20Speaker 1: I would ever do at a concert and say, man,
- 40:22Speaker 1: you know what, I want to take my shirt off
- 40:24Speaker 1: and start waving it. No, I'm not doing that.
- 40:26Speaker 2: I mean, if you have about twenty two beers, sometimes
- 40:29Speaker 2: you can't control them.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Not doing it. No. I've been, you know, into alcohol
- 40:37Speaker 1: some not often, But last thing on myma is taking
- 40:41Speaker 1: a shirt off.
- 40:42Speaker 2: When was the last time Michael Bennett was drunk? Really
- 40:46Speaker 2: like hammered?
- 40:47Speaker 1: Man, I'm having a hard time remembering. It might be
- 40:53Speaker 1: Oh goodness, Riverfront, No, what's it called? River Bend Amphitheater?
- 40:59Speaker 1: 've in Cincinnati, Jimmy Buffett. When was that nineteen ninety two?
- 41:09Speaker 1: Is the last time I was just like really really
- 41:12Speaker 1: really yeah, that's awesome. Yeah. I was invited to go
- 41:14Speaker 1: to that concert and I had a ball, So don't
- 41:17Speaker 1: remember it, but I had a ball, So that's all
- 41:19Speaker 1: I know. Well, maybe I tell you what, Maybe at
- 41:22Speaker 1: a derby party, somebody challenge See here's the problem. You know,
- 41:26Speaker 1: we were talking with will Stein yesterday about challenges and
- 41:28Speaker 1: how competitive is Michael Bennett extremely competitive? You tell me
- 41:33Speaker 1: to start taking shots. I'm taking shots. I took a
- 41:35Speaker 1: shot of Woodford Reserve like four or five, maybe seven
- 41:39Speaker 1: or eight, maybe twelve times.
- 41:40Speaker 2: You're just ripping shots of Woodford Oh yeah, yikes, yeah,
- 41:44Speaker 2: oh yeah, and I I yeah, you know, somebody drove
- 41:48Speaker 2: me home, So that wasn't that long ago. But when's
- 41:51Speaker 2: the last time you were really just out of your
- 41:53Speaker 2: mind blitzed with alcohol?
- 41:55Speaker 1: Probably last summer?
- 41:56Speaker 2: Really okay, good for you. Lake days are usually pretty
- 41:59Speaker 2: good for that. No, I normally am not in good
- 42:02Speaker 2: shape by time we leave the league.
- 42:04Speaker 1: I just I'm not interested interested in that anymore. I
- 42:07Speaker 1: have a couple of beers, get a little buzz and
- 42:08Speaker 1: that's it, and they're light beers on top vel. That's
- 42:11Speaker 1: my boys. Teasers can call me a lightweight because it
- 42:15Speaker 1: just maybe a pickleback or two. Boom, I'm good, come home. Yeah.
- 42:19Speaker 1: One person said, let's see here, Patrick, what did y'all
- 42:23Speaker 1: think about will Stein yesterday? Great? I want to ask
- 42:26Speaker 1: you first, what was your impression of how he reacted
- 42:32Speaker 1: to my questions? You and me? How do you What
- 42:36Speaker 1: was your impression of him?
- 42:37Speaker 2: I thought it was. It was awesome. I mean, he's
- 42:40Speaker 2: I was telling somebody yesterday. He's very likable. He comes
- 42:43Speaker 2: he comes across in a way that everyone, no matter
- 42:47Speaker 2: your age, can can relate to him. Yeah, and I
- 42:50Speaker 2: don't feel like you always got that with Mark Stoops ye.
- 42:52Speaker 1: So oh yeah.
- 42:53Speaker 2: It kind of was a breadth of fresh air. It
- 42:56Speaker 2: was wearing him yesterday. He's very level headed. I thought
- 42:59Speaker 2: his answer were really good. It seemed like even though
- 43:02Speaker 2: they're spur of the moment questions, it felt like they
- 43:04Speaker 2: were there was no coach talk exactly they were they were.
- 43:07Speaker 2: I felt like they were thought out answers. I thought
- 43:09Speaker 2: he gave great answers. So yeah, I liked it.
- 43:12Speaker 1: None of the that's above my pay grade. Uh, you know,
- 43:15Speaker 1: none of the none of the things we've heard from
- 43:18Speaker 1: a basketball coach in the past and a football coach
- 43:21Speaker 1: in the past. And I liked that that was because
- 43:23Speaker 1: Mark Pope has been really good about answering questions for
- 43:27Speaker 1: the most part.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Or maybe maybe age has something to do with that, right,
- 43:30Speaker 2: Maybe maybe he's still at the point where he's naive
- 43:33Speaker 2: with all that stuff. He's gonna be these things in
- 43:35Speaker 2: ten years and see how he's exactly he's he's gonna
- 43:37Speaker 2: give you what's on his mind now. And that's what
- 43:39Speaker 2: I appreciate.
- 43:40Speaker 1: The one thing I enjoyed you you mentioned my friend
- 43:42Speaker 1: John Wong. John called me last night, said I'm writing
- 43:45Speaker 1: an article about this yesterday, and he goes, Michael, how
- 43:49Speaker 1: did you think it went. I'm like, I you know,
- 43:52Speaker 1: I my gut told me it was eh. But he's like, no,
- 43:58Speaker 1: it was completely different. He goes, you go back and
- 44:01Speaker 1: listen to him. He goes, he's a little distant in
- 44:05Speaker 1: the beginning, and then by the end he's like your
- 44:07Speaker 1: best friend. And he goes, that's the impression I got
- 44:11Speaker 1: about it. And I'm like, man, he's right, and that's
- 44:14Speaker 1: the impression I got. It's like I felt like we
- 44:17Speaker 1: were at a bar having a drink together, really didn't
- 44:21Speaker 1: know each other, and by the end of our conversation
- 44:23Speaker 1: we kind of liked each other. We'd like to hang
- 44:26Speaker 1: out a little more. That was my impression will Stein,
- 44:28Speaker 1: is that he's a guy I'd really like to spend
- 44:30Speaker 1: some time with. So to answer your I know, it's
- 44:34Speaker 1: a long way to answer your question, Patrick, I really
- 44:36Speaker 1: liked him. My impression was, I'm exceptionally impressed. I'm exceptionally
- 44:41Speaker 1: impressed looking at the outside end because of all he's
- 44:44Speaker 1: been able to achieve in such a short amount of
- 44:46Speaker 1: time period. And then I'm impressed from the fact that
- 44:50Speaker 1: he was really open to I feel like I could
- 44:53Speaker 1: have asked him anything, Yeah, and I would have gotten
- 44:56Speaker 1: an absolute, honest and sincere answer from him.
- 44:58Speaker 2: I mean, he started the interview. You're talking about a
- 45:00Speaker 2: europe Well, I know, I know, but you know, I
- 45:03Speaker 2: think it's safe to say you could ask him anything.
- 45:05Speaker 1: I think so too. But you know, when you ask
- 45:08Speaker 1: a question like that that throws off somebody, that's that's
- 45:11Speaker 1: a that is a calculated question. I hate to tell
- 45:15Speaker 1: you as much as I want to be kind of
- 45:17Speaker 1: funny about that, but on the other hand, it's unexpected,
- 45:21Speaker 1: and when you're cut off guard, you tend to be
- 45:24Speaker 1: more honest. So all my life, I've you know, at
- 45:28Speaker 1: business meetings, I've always wanted to say something either a
- 45:30Speaker 1: little off color or something that's a little nutty, because
- 45:34Speaker 1: I think it catches the customer off guard so much
- 45:37Speaker 1: because he hears a product being sold every single day.
- 45:41Speaker 1: It's like, that's how you separate yourself. And so I mean,
- 45:44Speaker 1: you can make fun of me all you want, and
- 45:46Speaker 1: he was, which I like, and but but that's that's
- 45:50Speaker 1: how I handle conversations with people I've never met before.
- 45:53Speaker 1: That's how they get comfortable because you know, he was like,
- 45:56Speaker 1: you know, that's how I get young men to become
- 45:58Speaker 1: comfortable with me as I talk about them. People love
- 46:02Speaker 1: talking about one thing more than anything else. Do you
- 46:05Speaker 1: know what that is? Themselves? Exactly? They love talking about themselves.
- 46:10Speaker 1: So anyway, that's a great question right there, Patrick, and
- 46:13Speaker 1: I really enjoyed it, and I really appreciate what he
- 46:17Speaker 1: had to do. One person said, so we're bowling this morning.
- 46:20Speaker 1: My neighbor and I played a couple of rounds of
- 46:24Speaker 1: croquet yesterday. Preakness was by Lexington, the greatest sire in
- 46:29Speaker 1: American history. Okay, that was all over the place. That
- 46:33Speaker 1: was all over the place. But when's the last time
- 46:36Speaker 1: you saw anybody play croquet? Never? You've never seen anybody
- 46:40Speaker 1: play croquet?
- 46:41Speaker 2: Literally never? I mean on TV sure, but in real life.
- 46:45Speaker 3: No.
- 46:46Speaker 1: I used to play croquet as a kid. I loved it.
- 46:49Speaker 1: This is one of my favorite things to do.
- 46:50Speaker 2: I mean, isn't it just like putt putt with a
- 46:52Speaker 2: big hammer and a bigger ball.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Yeah. And you go to some of the snoodie clubs
- 46:56Speaker 1: down in South Florida and they have special grass, the
- 46:59Speaker 1: golf grass like putting greens that they play croquet on.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Oh it's snooty. You get to wear all whites and
- 47:05Speaker 1: it's it's oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know. I'd
- 47:09Speaker 1: play croquet again. I think it'd be kind of fun.
- 47:11Speaker 1: So all right, we got our two coming up. We
- 47:13Speaker 1: got some football news to talk about. We got all
- 47:16Speaker 1: kinds well baseball news as well. And then what is
- 47:19Speaker 1: San Francisco Giants? What does that outfield doing to celebrate
- 47:22Speaker 1: after the games. It's kind of weird to me, but
- 47:24Speaker 1: we'll talk about that too. Say right there, just the Cats,
- 47:27Speaker 1: our two. Coming right up. Welcome to Just the Cats
- 47:50Speaker 1: with Michael Bennett. All right, Gil, the golf Scramble is
- 48:00Speaker 1: happening in August. Okay, listening, he's not. No, he needs
- 48:04Speaker 1: to be listening, Gil, the golf Scramble is in in August.
- 48:08Speaker 1: What's the date of it? By the way, I don't
- 48:10Speaker 1: know if we have a date yet. Oh we don't.
- 48:12Speaker 1: August second.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Now is the golf straft Now, it would be the
- 48:15Speaker 2: end of August twenty nine. We normally do it the
- 48:18Speaker 2: friday before college football starts, so it may even be
- 48:22Speaker 2: September this year. Really in the first season, is in
- 48:26Speaker 2: the first week September fifth.
- 48:29Speaker 1: I think it is. You're right, so it's going to
- 48:31Speaker 1: be September the fourth. That would be my belief. Okay,
- 48:37Speaker 1: but not that's not setting Stone. Don't know that the
- 48:40Speaker 1: golf Scramble is September the fourth.
- 48:42Speaker 2: I'll tell him this later because he's not listening. He's
- 48:45Speaker 2: not he's at work. Well, you come over here and
- 48:47Speaker 2: tell me he's complaining.
- 48:48Speaker 1: It's a work. I just want to make sure where
- 48:51Speaker 1: is his work? Uh?
- 48:52Speaker 2: He works for a pharmacy company. Oh he does, Okay,
- 48:55Speaker 2: he gets people approved for like cancer drug. Can we
- 48:58Speaker 2: get him on the phone.
- 48:59Speaker 1: No way? Why not? Because he's working. He won't answer. No,
- 49:02Speaker 1: do you have his phone number? I better? Okay, good
- 49:05Speaker 1: get him on the phone. He won't answer. He won't.
- 49:07Speaker 1: I want you to try. He is working. It is summertime.
- 49:11Speaker 1: We got nothing better to do. Get him on the phone.
- 49:14Speaker 2: I call all right, listeners, do you want do you
- 49:17Speaker 2: want justin to get Gil on the phone?
- 49:20Speaker 1: I want to know.
- 49:21Speaker 2: It doesn't matter when anybody wants the dudes working. He
- 49:23Speaker 2: can't talk on the radio.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Sure he can. He can take two minutes out of
- 49:27Speaker 1: his day and talk to your roommate.
- 49:28Speaker 2: No, no, he can't. You're embarrassed by this hard I'm not. No,
- 49:32Speaker 2: he's but you won't do it. He's a higher up
- 49:34Speaker 2: in his company. He cannot take time out of his
- 49:36Speaker 2: day to talk on the ring.
- 49:38Speaker 1: You are the higher up on the rail. You can
- 49:40Speaker 1: take time off. Oh you sure can. When you are
- 49:42Speaker 1: the higher up.
- 49:43Speaker 2: Yes, because what happens is he's gonna get on and
- 49:46Speaker 2: then somebody on his team's gonna need something and he's
- 49:48Speaker 2: not gonna be there.
- 49:49Speaker 1: He hangs out and then goes and does it. No,
- 49:51Speaker 1: he's not. When you're when you were the higher up.
- 49:54Speaker 1: You definitely take the time to do other senseless things. Yes,
- 49:57Speaker 1: you do. I did it all the time. He's not
- 49:59Speaker 1: that higher. Okay. Well, UK football currently checks in at
- 50:03Speaker 1: number eight in the recruiting class of twenty twenty seven
- 50:08Speaker 1: in the United States. Number eight. Okay, are you ready
- 50:12Speaker 1: for this? Why are you checking this? I love how
- 50:14Speaker 1: you want to check it, Michael.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Every time I go to type something does not mean
- 50:21Speaker 2: i'm fact checking you. Sometimes this little brain of mine
- 50:25Speaker 2: gets a little curious and wants to know who's around
- 50:28Speaker 2: can touch.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I'm getting ready to tell you, so if
- 50:32Speaker 1: you're curious, I'm going to tell you. Just listen a
- 50:34Speaker 1: little more instead of typing out there. Are you ready
- 50:38Speaker 1: for you? Who UK's ahead of? Ready? Oregon is at
- 50:42Speaker 1: number nine, Ohio State is at number ten, and Miami
- 50:45Speaker 1: is at number eleven. This is unchartered waters for UK football.
- 50:50Speaker 1: I do not remember UK football getting this kind of
- 50:53Speaker 1: recruiting before. What you service are you looking at? I
- 50:56Speaker 1: think it was twenty four to seven. I'm showing them
- 50:59Speaker 1: at eleven. Okay, Well they're at eleven then, But I'm
- 51:02Speaker 1: just telling you this was I read it out of
- 51:05Speaker 1: an article yesterday, and it's like, Okay, that's impressive.
- 51:07Speaker 2: I really just wanted to see where my Hoosiers were
- 51:09Speaker 2: or are they not doing good? But that's okay, fifty
- 51:13Speaker 2: four right? How are they really for commits?
- 51:16Speaker 1: Wow?
- 51:18Speaker 2: Why why do you think that is? I think Kurt
- 51:21Speaker 2: just goes a year at a time. Yeah, he's one
- 51:24Speaker 2: of those coaches that concentrates on the transfer portal and
- 51:26Speaker 2: sees what he can get out of that. Okay, not
- 51:29Speaker 2: really all that concerned with freshman.
- 51:30Speaker 1: You know, you mentioned it yesterday and we didn't have
- 51:32Speaker 1: time just because of the fact that we had Will
- 51:35Speaker 1: sign on and we got sidetracked on other things. But
- 51:38Speaker 1: we did this whole thing about Ray Davis in the movie. Yeah,
- 51:42Speaker 1: that's fun. How do you like that? I mean it's
- 51:44Speaker 1: called Breakaway Ray. It's directed by the same director that
- 51:49Speaker 1: did Did you ever see the movie about the Syracuse
- 51:51Speaker 1: playing Ernie Davis called The Express? I don't think so.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Oh you. I'm telling you do yourself a favor if
- 51:58Speaker 1: you like sports movies. The Express is a great movie.
- 52:03Speaker 1: It's with Michael Keaton, okay, and I think I think
- 52:06Speaker 1: he's no, not Michael Keaton. Uh, it's the I get
- 52:10Speaker 1: these two mixed up every time. Uh. It's the guy
- 52:13Speaker 1: that did the Rookie. I can't think of his name,
- 52:16Speaker 1: but somebody will tell me. I'm sure they'll get it,
- 52:18Speaker 1: but that he he directed that movie. He directed Runaway Jury.
- 52:24Speaker 1: I bet you never saw that one great movie. Uh.
- 52:27Speaker 1: It has Gene Happman John Cusick in it. Uh and
- 52:31Speaker 1: then uh, and he's done a number of other movies,
- 52:35Speaker 1: so it's not like it's just some lackey uh director
- 52:38Speaker 1: that's doing this movie Breakaway Ray and it's talking about
- 52:41Speaker 1: how uh he was homeless, Uh, what it was like
- 52:45Speaker 1: being poor, his mom, overcoming addiction and and then surviving
- 52:50Speaker 1: the foster care system. And I thought no better person
- 52:55Speaker 1: than Ray Davis to be depicted in this because I
- 52:57Speaker 1: was always a big Ray Davis fan. And you know,
- 53:00Speaker 1: he left Vanderbilt. He gets his degree at Vanderbilt, does
- 53:03Speaker 1: the right thing, gets his degree, and then has one
- 53:06Speaker 1: left year left and comes to UK and he does.
- 53:10Speaker 1: I think he will be go down as probably one
- 53:13Speaker 1: of the greatest one year players at UK. And now
- 53:16Speaker 1: this is football, we're talking not basketball, but as far
- 53:20Speaker 1: as it'd be totally long, I mean as far as
- 53:25Speaker 1: football and one year players, I can't think of anybody
- 53:28Speaker 1: else that really stands out other than Ray Davis. Basketball. Yes,
- 53:33Speaker 1: I mean the first players that come out in my
- 53:36Speaker 1: mind as far as basketball one year players, John wall
- 53:39Speaker 1: is always going to be the first one for me.
- 53:41Speaker 1: Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, I mean, those guys exactly, But
- 53:48Speaker 1: the first one in my mind is always John Wall.
- 53:51Speaker 1: I just for some reason, I've always loved and appreciated
- 53:56Speaker 1: John Wall. I mean, you got Booker, I mean, you
- 53:59Speaker 1: got uh Jay gilg just yeah, it just it just
- 54:05Speaker 1: goes on and on and on. Yeah, Tyrese, and look
- 54:09Speaker 1: at what he's done. But I was just wanting to
- 54:11Speaker 1: he got beat over the weekend. But uh, he's got
- 54:13Speaker 1: to get away from Philly? Does he really? Is that
- 54:16Speaker 1: the problem right there? He just gys has to get
- 54:18Speaker 1: away from the seventy six. I mean they're just not
- 54:19Speaker 1: gonna win, are they not? Because he's kind of a
- 54:23Speaker 1: one man show, isn't he? Basically?
- 54:25Speaker 2: I mean unless you get a healthy embiid, which that's
- 54:27Speaker 2: you and four between. Yeah.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Uh, let's get back to the Whiskey Thief text on
- 54:31Speaker 1: five O two four one four fourteen fifty. Uh, let's
- 54:34Speaker 1: see here Will from South End said the only time
- 54:37Speaker 1: I have ever ever heard anyway and say you of
- 54:40Speaker 1: K is when I'm in Louisville or the surrounding area.
- 54:43Speaker 1: I never hear it said in any other part of
- 54:46Speaker 1: the state. Is that true? Maybe? So I'm not sure.
- 54:53Speaker 1: I don't know either, so I I mean, I thought
- 54:57Speaker 1: I had heard it over in Lexington by older people,
- 54:59Speaker 1: and you're right, and it's not you of K. Will
- 55:02Speaker 1: from South No, it's U Okay, you okay, yeah, you okay,
- 55:07Speaker 1: just like the UL.
- 55:08Speaker 2: It's like when the when I heard the first person
- 55:11Speaker 2: say UL, and I'm like, Niver, see the Louisiana.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Who are you talking about? I've never heard that. I
- 55:16Speaker 1: have heard it by two or three people, and it
- 55:19Speaker 1: just it freaked me out. One person said, uh, I
- 55:23Speaker 1: remember when UK versus U of OL game was one
- 55:28Speaker 1: was game one. It was always so hot and no
- 55:31Speaker 1: one really knew what to expect from the teams. I
- 55:34Speaker 1: like it better at the end of the season now
- 55:36Speaker 1: near Thanksgiving and sometimes with the uh let's see sometimes
- 55:42Speaker 1: with bull Elgibilly on the line for one of our
- 55:45Speaker 1: both teams. I think best would be to flip flop
- 55:49Speaker 1: it every five years or so from first game to
- 55:52Speaker 1: last game of the season. Okay, I can get behind it.
- 55:54Speaker 1: See I like that idea because then you get a
- 55:57Speaker 1: taste of both, and then maybe a few years down
- 56:01Speaker 1: the road, do you decide. Okay, which way do we
- 56:02Speaker 1: like it more? But I like that option right there,
- 56:06Speaker 1: because he's right. I'll never forget the time there was
- 56:10Speaker 1: an absolute deluge of rain and they asked all the
- 56:16Speaker 1: fans to leave the stadium. Well, this is where my
- 56:21Speaker 1: biggest complaint of the Pizza Boys Stadium is that there
- 56:25Speaker 1: aren't many exit ramps to get out of there, So
- 56:28Speaker 1: we were stuck for a good or ten to fifteen
- 56:31Speaker 1: minutes in pouring down rain because nobody can get out.
- 56:36Speaker 1: That's where no offense. I mean, I'm not trying to
- 56:39Speaker 1: knock your stadium, U will, but Commonwealth Stadium is a
- 56:44Speaker 1: lot easier to get out of. Plus there's a lot
- 56:46Speaker 1: more places to stand when it's bad weather. But yeah,
- 56:50Speaker 1: I mean it was it was hot or it was
- 56:52Speaker 1: just pouring down rain.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Has there ever been a game at the end of
- 56:56Speaker 2: the season where boil eligibility was on the line for
- 56:58Speaker 2: both teams?
- 57:00Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 57:01Speaker 2: I think that would be a lot of fun if
- 57:02Speaker 2: both teams were five and six going into that.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you make that your playoffs, so that's your play
- 57:07Speaker 1: in game if you if you win that game, you
- 57:10Speaker 1: gets to go the other one gets to go home.
- 57:11Speaker 1: That would be fun. Yeah, you're right. I don't think
- 57:14Speaker 1: so again because u of L has that easy schedule,
- 57:18Speaker 1: so they're always going to be in a bowl. Buzz said,
- 57:21Speaker 1: I work with a young lady who says you, ok wow,
- 57:24Speaker 1: really interesting, even when talking about the United Kingdom. You're right,
- 57:30Speaker 1: justin as soon as I said it, I wanted to
- 57:32Speaker 1: go back and start over. I do know better. And yes, Michael,
- 57:36Speaker 1: I am old relatively speaking. I'm only stubborn when I
- 57:39Speaker 1: am right. Like today, Oh boy, oh boy, we're gonna
- 57:43Speaker 1: need more phone calls from Buzz, just to let you know.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Patrick said, I want Gil or that Patrick guy to
- 57:56Speaker 1: call in himself. Yeah, to call in. And I guess
- 58:02Speaker 1: that only because you won't do it. He can't. You
- 58:06Speaker 1: don't know that.
- 58:07Speaker 2: I do know that, but you didn't try. He works
- 58:10Speaker 2: from home one day a week. I know he can,
- 58:12Speaker 2: and he worked from home tuesdays. Okay, so he's not
- 58:16Speaker 2: home right now, so you can call him at least
- 58:18Speaker 2: try they can't. The fact that you keep saying he
- 58:23Speaker 2: can't and you don't try.
- 58:25Speaker 1: You don't know.
- 58:25Speaker 2: You remember earlier when you told me that I'm pissing
- 58:27Speaker 2: you off. You're at that point with me off. I'm
- 58:33Speaker 2: here for that every time.
- 58:34Speaker 1: LSU coach Lane Kiffen claims Old Miss fans hate him
- 58:40Speaker 1: at a different level than Tennessee fans did when he
- 58:43Speaker 1: left for South California. Southern cal You think, yeah, why
- 58:48Speaker 1: he says it. There is a reason behind it. He says.
- 58:51Speaker 1: The difference with Old Miss is because he was there
- 58:54Speaker 1: for six years, so he was there longer because he
- 58:56Speaker 1: was only u T what one year? Uh, of course
- 59:00Speaker 1: that's longer than he was in Knoxville, he says. Uh.
- 59:03Speaker 1: And he says he loves it because it's proof that
- 59:07Speaker 1: him being at Old Miss meant something. What do you think?
- 59:13Speaker 1: And especially with Old Miss now, he says that you
- 59:17Speaker 1: know he's now left for a rival LSU.
- 59:20Speaker 2: That's the thing you you left for, not only a
- 59:23Speaker 2: conference opponent, but a rival of Old Miss. Yes, that's
- 59:28Speaker 2: why they don't like you. And on account of that,
- 59:31Speaker 2: the way you let you hang, you hung this team
- 59:34Speaker 2: out to dry. Yeah, he did, like what an absolute
- 59:38Speaker 2: idiot to do things the way that he did. Why
- 59:41Speaker 2: do you think he took so long to make that decision?
- 59:45Speaker 2: I think he's selfish, arrogant. I mean, any other adjective
- 59:49Speaker 2: you want to throw out. Why do you dislike Lane
- 59:51Speaker 2: Kiffin so much? I mean, I think you're no old
- 59:54Speaker 2: miss old miss fan. You're an IU fan. He's done
- 59:56Speaker 2: nothing to IU, are you? He's just he comes across
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: d bag and I'm I'm not a big fan of him.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: I've never have been, never will be.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Well, does that mean you're not gonna watch College Game
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Day the very first week because that's where they're gonna be.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Is that down at LSU? I never watched College Game Day? Peer?
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Do you not know? Yeah? It's it's kind of run
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: its course, hasn't it.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: I'm just I don't need all those guys screaming on stage.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Not that it's that's the reason as to why I'm
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: not watching. I just I don't care. I think the
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: field goal thing's pretty cool, like I always like watching
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: the kid try to kick a field goal. But other
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: than that, I don't really need anything else that they offer.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: Here's when I stopped watching when Chris Fowler left and
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: only does the play by play of the game. That's
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: when I kind of stopped watching because I I for
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: some reason, I met him at Derby a couple weeks ago.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: He was there with kirkurb Street. Nice guy, but when
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: he left College game day, that was kind of the
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: end for me. The guy that took over, he's just
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: a little too goofy for me. What's his name, Reyese Davis. No,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: he's a bit of a clown to me, So I'm
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: not a fan. Then, of course, you know the other
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: guys that I don't like, but I just I mean,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: you always got the same thing. They always get the
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: crowd pumped up. They gotta get them yelling behind them.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: They gotta wear the the the big hardware store construction hat,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: those orange things. I'm not gonna give him a free advertisement.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: Then they got to come up with some sad story
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: about a player on the team and how he survived
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: or how he died or any of that kind of stuff.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: It's just the same show, different location, every single week.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: And that's why I stopped watching.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, the best part about it is the
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: signs in the crowd.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: The signs are funny, and you know, I've told you before,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: but my favorite sign one was that UK. Hey mom,
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: I found the library and of course they were advertising
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: from the library at UK. I thought that was the
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: funniest sign that I had ever read. Can you hear
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: that car outside?
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that's ridiculous. Why God, in the middle of the country.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Holy cow, cars ain't supposed to be that a loud
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: in Louisville, Kentucky. Yeah, so, uh, you're not. You're not
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: worried about that. You see, game week is already h
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: our game day. Week one is l s U Clemson.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Week two is Ohio State at Texas. Those are two
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: pretty good games right there. I think, if I'm predicting
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: right now, I think LSU won't have a hard time
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: with Clemson because that that Dabo Sweeney doesn't have it
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: going on anymore. And uh, I think the Texas Ohio
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: State game will be should be probably the better one.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: I mean, he's great last year well, fourteen to seven.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I do remember that, and that was fun to watch.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: I I enjoyed that game.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Archie's getting a lot of hype, is he really? Is
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: it even more so than last year, which I didn't
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: think was possible. Why is it that he's getting so
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: much this year because he's got another year of experience.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: Is that what it is? Have no idea? Okay, I
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: don't think that kid's that great.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: Really, well, you you's talking about Texas Steve car A Sarcassian,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: the Texas head coach. Did you see where he's really
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: going after Old Miss right now? No? Because of transferring? Uh,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: he said, at Texas we only take fifty percent of
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: a player's academic credit. Here. You may be a semister
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: from graduating but you're going all the way back to
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: fifty percent if you play here and want a degree.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: But at Old Miss they can take you. All you
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: have to do is take basket weaving and you get
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: an Old Miss degree. Why is he going after Old Miss?
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Basket waving's hard? First of all, is it really? I've
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: never basket weak. I don't want to get sidetracked on
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: basket weave because you imagine doing it underwater. You're about
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: You're about to get me in trouble saying basket Okay,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: don't do it because I'll go squirrel on that. Please
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: don't go. I want to concentrate on this. But you're right,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: I would assume basket weaving is heard. But first of all,
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: if you're getting fifty percent of your hours going to Texas,
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: to me, that's demotivating. Now you mean I gotta go backwards.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: So I'm gonna now be instead of a junior academically,
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: I'm going to be a sophomore. So it's going to
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: take me two more years to get a degree. For
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: those kids out there that actually do want a degree,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: I thought that was kind of dumb to say.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: I think it's kind of dumb that he's picking on
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: old miss out of everybody in the country, Like why them.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: Why exactly what? Who is Texas rival in the SEC?
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: I guess it's Oklahoma A and M. That's right, it's
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: A and M. Thank you. Why wouldn't he go after
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Texas A and M? Then why is he going after
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: old Mess? Does make sense? A couple of states over
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: I just for the life of me, I didn't understand
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: this at all. Why didn't you go out there, LSU
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: that's the next state? Over all of a sudden, they
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: must be going against somebody And I'm missing something here.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: But I'm to me sarcasian, You're you're missing out here,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: because if I want to go to as a student
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: to Texas and I'm losing all my hours. I don't
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: think I want to go to Texas? Would you? Probably not?
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: No, But I mean, honestly, it depends on how good
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: of an athlete you are, because if the NFL is
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: in your future, I don't I don't give one iota
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: about a degree.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: Okay, just couldn't care less. One person said, guys, stop it,
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Kentucky can't beat the bottom teams in the ACC. I
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: disagree with you wholeheartedly right there. Ten and two was
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: far fetched. I'll give you that. No, it's not far fetched.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: That is accurate. That is accurate as it can be,
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: just like U el. But go ahead, why is it
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: not accurate? That's it. That's all I got to Oh,
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: that's all you got to say. Say? Okay, all right then,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: well then let's just end the show right now. Let's
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: do it. Five O two three eight four fourteen fifty
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: five two four one fourteen fifty. I'm sorry, Texter, you're wrong.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: UK can beat those bottom dwelers there. Uh. When we
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: come back, I do want to talk about Greg Sanky.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: He made the news yesterday. Is he knocking all the
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: other power for conferences? We'll talk about that as soon
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: as we get back. Stay right there more Jessicat's coming out.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: Say it, buddy, you're an old mind, poor man, bleeding mouth.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: You rise, gone on, make yours hombies some Now you
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: got money on your bus, may disgrace some money.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: He is not the father. No, I don't know, but
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: I would. I thought i'd just tell you I love
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: when we come up and just yeah, they're not related.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: So you know, I got what he else to understand?
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: I know, I know. Well, all right, you want to
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: explain it, you want me to, you can, okay, So
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: on the TV in my studio, I am currently watching
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: the Phasic Tipton mid Atlantic Timonium. Uh. It's supposed to
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: be a bree show, but they don't do it anymore.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: You can go on YouTube and look it up Phasic
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: Tipton and you'll see it live. And they're coming from Timonium, Maryland,
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: right outside Baltimore. And you can watch these horsehips, horses
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: run around the track. And you saw one mystic guide.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Who's the sire this this horse that's by him and us?
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Is that related to Mystic Dan? I said, no, so
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: that's he is not the father? Yeah, who's that guy
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: that did that. That was Maury Covich.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: That's it. Yeah, that was always the best daytime talk show?
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: Was it?
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Really? May Covich was the best day I figured you
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: would have said that guy from Cincinnati, Steve Wilcos. Uh No,
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: his other boss, Jerry Springer. No, that was that was
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: late night trash TV is what that was? Because that
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: was fake, wasn't it. None of that was real? Feel
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: like a majority probably was. Yeah. I don't just just
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: like that in reality TV. None of it's real.
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: Now.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: When Steve Wilkos broke off and had his own show,
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: I thought that was.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Pretty good too. See. I thought that was funny. He
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: was the security guy for Springer and now he all
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: of a sudden he has his own show. It's just
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: like that.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: Was it was boring? You watched that show occasionally? I
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: mean I wasn't like a daily watcher. I'd occasionally tuned it.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: All right? Did SEC commissioner take a shot at the
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: ACC Big twelve and Big ten? Did you hear about this? No?
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: All right, he responded. Somebody was asking about and he
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: started talking about Friday night games for college He argued
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: that the SEC avoids Friday night games to protect the
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: high school football rather than chasing the money. He stated
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: that the SEC could grab money by doing so, but
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: chooses not to. Is that a shot at Big Ten,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Big twelve and ACC? I don't know.
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: Does the Big twelve do Friday games? I thought they
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: did because I know the other week night games I
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: know ACC and Big ten does definitely do. Yeah, maybe
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: it is a shot. I mean also, along with that,
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: the SEC doesn't need the money grab and either does
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: a Big ten. They don't need to. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: I guess that's a good point. Big ten doesn't need
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: to do standalone Friday games either.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: But so why do they do it?
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: I think a lot of this would come down to,
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: if you've got SEC games and Big ten games on Saturday,
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: what is the country gonna probably flock to more? Probably
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: those SEC games, Right, So, if you're the Big ten
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: and you are playing on Friday, maybe that does give
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: you more eyeballs.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: But I'm I'm with him.
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: I hate that it infringes upon Friday night football at
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: the high school level. I think that's ridiculous. I mean,
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: there's so many Fridays. I think there was two or
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: three Indiana games the last couple of years on a
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: Friday where I'm broadcasting, but yet I've got the game
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: up on my laptop and half paying attention, half paying
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: attention to what I'm doing, half paying attention to the
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: Indiana and I shouldn't have to do that.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: So do you think it affects high schools in those
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: local areas? So in Bloomington, Indiana, in and arbur Michigan.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: In Columbus, Ohio, do you think those games being played
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: on Friday night affects attendance for high school games? Yes,
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: yes I do. It's a negative, then it is a negative.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: I've never liked it. I don't watch those Friday night games.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: I think it's odd that they're playing on a Friday night.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: I never watch them, so it works the opposite effect
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: to me.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: I don't know that it affects them as much as
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: it could, because you're you're still gonna have those people
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: that want to go out and watch the local high
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: school games. So I don't I don't know how much
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: it's actually taking away, but it feels like it is.
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, I just I've never liked it. I think
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Greg Sanki is correct. I don't know if I would
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: have taken a shot like that, but because I think
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: that was a shot. But I just it's like, okay,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: you can say it in a different way without taking
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: a shot at them. Police in France are warning drivers
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: in rural areas to be careful because you have to
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: be on the lookout for drunk deer. Excuse me. They
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: are saying that they have to be on the lookout
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: for drunk deer and they have a video of them
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: drunk as can be, going nuts. I need, yes, what
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: has happened is there is a lot of fruit in
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: France that has been has has gone fermented. They're eating
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: the fermented fruit and they are now drunk. I thought
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: that was hilarious when I saw that. It can't be
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: only deer though, Oh, it can't be at all. But
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: they had a video of the deer just going nuts.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: You gotta have like raccoons and stuff. Just yeah, Well,
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: wasn't there a raccoon that that got drunk and fell
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: asleep in a bathroom not too long ago? And it
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: was literally on its back with its feet up in
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: the air, drunk as can be? Oh I do I
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: love stories like that. I didn't talk about what and
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: there are and then you know you had the bear
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: get caught up in the No, it was the dog
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: that got caught up in the bathroom. And remember that one, Yeah,
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: I do remember that one. But yeah, there was a
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: raccoon that got drunk and fell asleep in the bathroom
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: of a restaurant. I think it was, and I thought
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: that was awesome. I love raccoons. I don't know what
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: it is. I've always wanted a raccoon as a pet.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: They're cute. I think it'd be the dumbest pet in
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: the world, but I've just I've always wanted one. So
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: what's going on in San Francisco with the Giants players?
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: Have you seen the way they celebrate after wins?
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: No?
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: Oh, you have it? Okay, you gotta look this up.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: They sell the outfielders. I think it was night before.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: It was either Sunday night or Monday night. I saw
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: the video. I didn't want I'm not gonna claim that
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: I watched the game. I didn't watch the game, but
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: I saw how the outfielders were celebrating after they won
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: a game. They got together, hugged each other and did
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: a lude act that they should not have done. It
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: was just kind of odd. Look up, Giants outfielders and
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: they just kind of gyrated amongst each other. As they
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: were huddling with each other, it was it was alright,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: you see.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: It, I'm waiting on it to play. Oh, of course
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: you are. That doesn't well, hang on, how they're just bowing?
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: That was last night. Okay, so they bowed last night,
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: so they didn't do the oh oh yes, what is
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: going on exactly?
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: And then last night they tamed it down a whole bunch.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: The three of them got together and bowed. I think
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: they just kind of liked the attention. But the one
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: they did the other night was just that sounds weird. Yeah,
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: that's so weird. Yeah. So I saw that and it
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: was like, what are they doing and why? I just Yeah,
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: the bowing, I can. I can kind of embrace that.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: But the other part, yeah, if you got kids, don't
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: show them.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: Probably hopefully their manager told them, hey, boys, let's retire
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: that one.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: All right. So let's go the opposite way. Let's talk
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: about the Boston Red Sox, who are not winning too
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: many games right now. There were two fans at the
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: game last night red Sox played the Phillies and Austin.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Two fans that had them pictured had bags over their heads,
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: which I love. I love it when fans do that.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: But Red Sox management didn't think it was too funny.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: They went down there. Of course, this was the ninth inning.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: They went down to the fans and promptly asked them
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: to either take the bags off or to.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: Leave give me a break. That's exactly the response I
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: was hoping you'd have.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? I'm not kidding.
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: This is America. If I want to wear a freaking
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: brown plastic bag on my head, yes, I'm gonna do such.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: I would have looked right at them and been like, hey,
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: maybe can I offer a suggestion?
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: Do you all?
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Maybe you start winning some games so I'm not so
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: freaking embarrassed when I walk into this stadium. Yes, so
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: you do your part. I'll do my part. You're on
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: the side of the fan. Absolutely, I am too, because
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: you know what I would say, No, I'm not taking
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: the fans off.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: I paid for these tickets. If if I want to
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: wear a bag to the game, I should be allowed
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: to wear a bag. What's the difference in wearing a
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: baseball hat over a bag? What am I doing? That's
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: so wrong? Your team is terrible fix it or I'm
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: gonna wear bags. So I think that every fan in
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: Red Sox fan base should go to the next game
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: and wear bags. That's that's how you protest. I agree,
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: because that's going against everything that you believe. You're a
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: fan for a reason. You're paying all this money, and
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: you're putting a terrible product on the field. I just
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: I couldn't believe they asked them to leave. They would
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: not take it off, so they just got up and left.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: I wouldn't have done either. I wouldn't have taken it
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: off or left. Yeah, Like, I haven't done anything wrong, sir.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: I'm sitting here with a bag over my head.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: We've seen I can distinctly remember seeing Chicago cub fans
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: doing the same thing since I Red fans.
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: Doing the same base at some point does it.
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: I don't think they've all been asked to leave games.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: That's what I thought. I thought it was ridiculous.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: All right, while we're talking baseball, Yes, I got a
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: baseball story for you.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: I'm ready.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: Did you see what cal Rowley did prior to last night? No, so,
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: cal Rally, who finished second in MVP voting last year,
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: the Big Dumper, hit a million homers. We all remember
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: that he's had a horrible year, no doubt about it.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: Atrocious year. He's in the middle or was in the
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: middle of an oh for thirty eight slump, oh for
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: thirty eight.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: That's horrible. It is so one of.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: His teammates suggested that he washes off the bad juju
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: by showering.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: In full uniform. Oh, I like this idea.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: So after I guess it would have been Monday night's game, right,
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: he showered full uniform. What's his betting average? By the way, Oh,
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: it's bad. Okay, I'll up here. But so he showers
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: full uniform and then last night gets two singles?
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: Does he really pretty him? Yeah? All right, I'm trying
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: to look it up right now to see what it is,
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: because it's got to be just as horrocious. Yeah, all right,
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: Uh one I got one sixty six. That's probably what
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: it was after last night. Okay, all right, one fifty seven.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: That is bad. Good for him? So it helps. See.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: I think when you change, when you do something like that,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: it does change your attitude because I think the mental mind,
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: the mind can do so many things, for sure, and
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: I think once you do that it's just like I
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: think it fixed him. That's good that he did it.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: Would you take a shower if you just had a
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: run on of really bad sun rivals scoots, and all
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: of a sudden the computer's not working, you can't do
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: a show you're on it. Then it just goes out
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: your computer for I don't know if this has ever
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: happened to you or not, but if the computer freezes
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: right at the beginning of your show and you're not
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: allowed to do a show, I don't know if this
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: sounds familiar to you or not. But would you if
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: I said, justin you need to go take a shower
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: in what you are wearing today to write off the
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: bad juju? Would you do it?
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: Here's my issue, and here's kind of the issue I
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: had with col I'm curious. Did he wear his cleats?
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: I think you should, because I would do it if
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: I wasn't required to wear my shoes.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: Why Because I don't want to ruin my shoes. It's
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: never ruin your shoes. What shoes you have on right now.
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: You couldn't wear them for three or four days? Would
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: they be sopping?
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: What? No, that's not true. What shoes you have on
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: right now, my American hay dudes. Oh okay, you just
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: put them in a dryer and they'll dry. He put
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: them out in the sun. They'll be drying about three
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: or four hours. But you can't do that with metal
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: baseball cleats their leather, and you're not even paying for them.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: What do you think you catt to just go by
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: new ones? Exactly? So I I probably wouldn't where the
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: cleats because you're gonna slip all over the place. Yeah.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: I love that story. So UK baseball, let's stick to
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: baseball for a little bit. Coming under scrutiny for canceling
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: their game last night. Did you hear about this? No,
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: So they canceled the game last night because you know,
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: they's just like, you know, we've been traveling a lot.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: We've had a hard time scheduling. They had a game
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: against Northern Kentucky and both teams mutually agreed, and then
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: a letter of warning to teams from the NCAA of
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: doing this came out yesterday.
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: Oh you know what, I did see this because they
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: said it was because or Kentucky said they've got a
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: tough series coming up against Arkansas.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: Yes, they really need to concentrate, yes, and they've been
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: traveling a lot. So the nc DOUBLE said, as you're aware,
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: When selecting teams for the Championship, the Championship Subcommittee weighs
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: all the available data and the complete body of work.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: The subcommittee has kept and will continue to keep a
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: watchful eye on team schedules and any known reasons for
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: any calations during the subcommittee subjective evaluation of teams. Games
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: canceled to avoid the impact on mathematical metrics will be
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: discussed and could have a negative impact on the subcommittee's
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: evaluation of a team. Now if UK, because you know,
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: UK is on the bubble right now of making the postseason.
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: Of course, the SEC Tournament starts next week. If they
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: do not make it, and they win the series this weekend,
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: and they win maybe a couple of games in advance
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: a couple of days in the SEC tournament, do you
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: think the NCAA is using UK as an example of
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: what they just did there by canceling the game.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: I would say, all right, I'm not gonna say I
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: wouldn't think so. Really, Now, I don't. I don't think
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: they would choose that moment to make an example. Now,
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: I hope not, but I mean it does, Like that
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: was the first thing that came to my mind. If
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: you cancel that game, then you don't have to worry
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: about losing it, which can't hurt you. Yeah, I'm worried
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: about it.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: I'm at this point now with them a bubble team
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: where they have blown some games they should have never
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: have blown. I mean, they blew a game last weekend
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: again against Florida, and I'm thinking, Okay, if this happens,
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: then I'm like, Okay, n C DOUBLEA is using them
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: an example, and I think it was directed towards UK
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: right there, because they're not the only one that did it,
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: but they are definitely on the right there on the
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: edge of being eliminated. Nothing is what's matter? Like, who
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: cares if you're the NC DOUBLEA. But I guess because
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: they scheduled the game, everybody else played the game, but
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: you know, this team decided not to play the game,
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: and guess what they might have lost? That it might
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: have cost them something, but at least they'll be rewarded
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: for playing the game. I don't know. That's the only
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: thing I can think of, But I mean, it's a
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: non sensical game. If you're playing against Northern Kentucky.
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: It's not like they're missing out on a bunch of
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: money from the gate.
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: Right or television or anything else. I mean, it's just
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: a game that they would have probably won more times
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: than not. And who cares. I mean, it's towards the
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: it's it's the end of the season. Let them so
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: they get a night of rest when they should have
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: been playing. And yet they're gonna play Arkansas this weekend,
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: which is a big series. I mean, this is a
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: big series for UK. They need to win this series.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: They need to get a good jump start in the
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: SEC tournament down in Alabama next week. So I can
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: say I don't blame them for taking the night off,
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: but if I'm a season ticket older, I might be
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: a little disappointed I didn't get to go see my
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: team play well.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: And especially with the Arkansas series starting on Thursday. Yeah,
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: if it starts on Friday, maybe this decision is not made.
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: But with its starting on Thursday, I don't hate it.
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: Really. Yeah, Okay, I got youa Let's we'll get back
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: to your Texas soon as we get back five O
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: two four one four fourteen fifty. And I want to
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: know justin if you have blue dot fever, so you
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: need to look into this. If you have blue dot fever,
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: we need to check it out. So we'll talk about
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: that soon as we get back. Stay right there. One
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: more segment of Justin Kat's coming up. All right, our
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: last segment of the day. Uh, let me get to
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: the text messaging real quick before we go. Josh texted
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: out the brown baggers should have told the security at
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: the game that they were just protecting themselves from Hanta virus. Exactly.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: That's been a scary thing. I just can't imagine being
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: on that ship stuck like those people were.
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: Uh but uh, I heard it pronounce yesterday as Hantu.
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: Oh real Hanta. I don't like that. You don't haunt
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: to Hanta sounds scarier to me. Hanta sounds more accurate
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: to me. It does Hantah. Yeah, it's it's spelled like Santa,
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: So why wouldn't you call it hanta? Exactly. That's that's
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: the way I look at it, You know how my
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: mind works. But have you ever had blue dot fever?
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: I mean, I just simply don't know what that is.
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: You've never had it before. It's a high profile concert
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: tour being canceled or scaled back due to poor ticket sales.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: You know where they get the name blue dot No,
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: if you go look online to see what seats are
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: available and you see nothing but blue dots, that's what
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: it is. So they call it. I had never heard
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: of it either until I saw this, So they call
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: it blue dot fever. And evidently there are a lot
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: of concerts that are being canceled and tours due to
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: blue dot theater.
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: Maybe because tickets are ridiculously expensive.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: That's part of the reason right there. Part of the
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: reason is because tickets are way too expensive. Uh, and uh,
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: people just aren't going. So here's the here's the major artist,
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: which I didn't know this one was a major artist,
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: but I'll read it. The Pussycat Dolls. Oh yeah, they're big, absolutely, Okay,
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: well they have Uh yeah, I don't need to hear
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: that they've canceled nearly their entire North of American Reunion tour.
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: I mean I didn't even know people still cared about them.
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: Yeah I didn't either. Uh, there's load demand for tickets.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: Meghan Trainer canceled her get In Girl tour. While she
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: cited family reasons, critics reported to largely unpurchased seating maps.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: See I think that's I don't I know the name
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: Meghan Trader, couldn't name a song. Post Malone and Jelly
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: Roll really Oh yeah, scaled back of their portion of
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: their co heading stadium tour. People decided they just had
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: too many tats. Yeah, well, they said, officially, citing a
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: need for more time to finish their new tats. No,
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: that's not what it says. It says for finishing new music.
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: You all know it's BS and then Zane Malik. I
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: don't know him, Yeah, neither of I. So, but yeah,
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: there you go. So people aren't going right now. I
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: don't know if you've seen it or not, but they
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: announced how much a standing room only ticket is going
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: to be for the Buffalo bills first game in their
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: brand new stadium. Six hundred and fifty eight dollars to
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: first standing room Yeah you heard me. How ridiculous is that? Yeah?
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: People are getting to a point. NFL is getting to
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: a point where people are going to say enough, I
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: can't afford this.
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: It's not just the NFL, though, No, it's not just
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: the NFL.
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: It's every sports league, it's every concert, it's everything it's
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: and that's what the frustrating thing for me is, like
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: we as a people have the power.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: Just stop showing up, Just stop showing up. Force their hand.
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: They're going to have to lower the prices of things
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: if they want butts in the seats.
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: Lower the prices, that lower the price of the concessions. Okay,
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: and then guess what if I want to go to
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: Nashville to see the SECS tournament. Hell's the city of
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: Nashville to start telling the hotels to start overpricing their
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: hotel rooms. That's the other part there, because that's what
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: ticks me off about Nashville. Have we talked I'm gonna
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: talk about this on my show tomorrow. I was going
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: to today. Okay.
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: Have we talked the beverage prices at PGA? Oh no,
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: I'm unbelievable. Really, So a sixteen ounce Ultra oh no,
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: how much do you think it is?
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: Twenty four dollars? Not that high?
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: Fifteen Yeah, But you can get a twenty five ounce
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: Ultra nine extra ounces for seventeen fifty.
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: Why would you not buy the twenty five I'm getting
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: fifty more exactly, and I'm gonna get so drunk. I'm
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: gonna forget how much I'm spending on a concessions.
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: A premium beer sixteen bucks a high noon sixteen fifty eight.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: Here's the one that really got me, A michelob Ultra
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: zero zero, twelve dollars.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: Can I'm not drinking beer that I'm not getting drunk
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: on for twelve dollars A man?
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: Oh, so you're going to the PGA and you're gonna
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: get drunk?
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: No?
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: All right? So do you think the reason they do
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: this is to promote less drinking? Probably that's the reason
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: they put the pricing so high. Probably that's kind of
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: how I would feel. Now. Is that the way it
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: should be at all professional sports? No? I mean to me,
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: I think if you ask me, because it's easy for
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: me because I really I don't go to sporting events
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: and drink. But if you ask me, alcohol should be
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: real expensive and everything should be cheaper everything else, so
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: soft drinks, food, all that should be cheap. And then beer,
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: any kind of you know spirit out there that they
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: order it should be probably expensive. Well that'll prohibit people
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: from getting drunk all the time.
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: Well, and that's how it is at the PGA. I
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: don't know if you went last time I was in town.
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: But you do get free food, free water, free, all
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: that stuff is included with the price here too.
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I didn't go for some reason. I
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: had to be out of town. I think it was
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: a horse thing. But I couldn't go to the PGA tournament,
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: so which was fine. I mean, I'd seen it a
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: val holla. I didn't feel like going again, but if
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: it comes back, I'll probably go to that. The one
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: thing I would love to see one more time in
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: Louisville is the Ryder Cup. Yeah, that would be awesome
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: to me. That was that was more special than the
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: PGA champions is It was it that long ago?
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: It was?
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: Wow? That was fine. It was just announced that the
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: Saints are going to be playing the Steelers in Paris
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: October October twenty fifth, at eight thirty a m. Central time.
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: I got a freshen up on my French. Then, how
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: many French are really going to go to this game
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: and show up and watch it? A bunch? Do you
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: really think so? Fair enough? It's the NFL.
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: That's why they go overseas, because they know they'll sell
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: tickets wherever they go.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, well then there you go so well, And
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: that's a cool team that they picked, the Saints, which
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: you know, New Orleans it's a French city here in
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: the United States, so that's kind of a neat reason
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: to do that. But I don't think there's gonna be
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: a lot of Steeler fans that go to this game.
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: It'll be a big time win for a pit will
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: it really? Oh? Yeah, Okay, are gonna are they? That's
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: a shame. I'm sorry to see them back. That was
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: horrible news yesterday about the Grizzlies player Brandon Clark. Yeah,
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: passed away at the age of twenty nine, and they
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: say it was all due to an overdose.
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: Something about the last name Clark and you play basketball.
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: Oh that is true. I didn't think about that. That's
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: the first thing I thought of. Oh my gosh, you
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: just gave me cold chill.
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: Yeah, there evidently is. I mean, because you know, he
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: he had he was struggling from some injuries. He got
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: arrested for possession not too long ago. You kind of
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: feel like he was just trying to medicate himself and
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: he just.
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: I mean, it goes to show you that everybody's got
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: their own things they deal with. This dude's got millions
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: and millions of yet yeah, still had his own demons.
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: He definitely did. I mean, yeah, you're right. He signed
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: what was it, a fifty million dollar contract right out
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: of college and so yeah, he had money. Yeah, but
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: he just couldn't overcome probably the pain he was struggling with.
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: Maybe you never know what people are dealing with. No,
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: you don't, and that's why. You know, when you're driving
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: down the road somebody cuts you off, you know they
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: might have something else on their mind. Well, it's just
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: it's just like you're right, you never know what's going
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: on in the mind of someone else. That's why I
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: just I'm to a point now it's just like let
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: it go, Michael. Just let it go. The best thing
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: to do it is. But uh, anyway, all right, Uh
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: was there anything else you want to talk about? Since
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: you didn't do your show today, I think I got
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: it all.
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: I think I just wanted to basically bring up the
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: k Yeah that was cool, that was fun and uh
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: so uh anyway, Uh, the UK has one more series
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: this weekend and and you know, the SEC Tournament, and
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: that does it and we're officially in summer after that.
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: I mean, I feel like we're kind of in summer
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: right now.
- 1:34:06Speaker 5: I like it.
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: Figure something. I hate to tell you. I enjoy it
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: because then we get to talk about more random stuff,
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: and I probably enjoy more random talk conversation I do anything.
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: Well, was it Corey brought up yesterday? He brought up
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: a really good summer radio topic.
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and I don't remember it. I remember it. Yeah,
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: I said, that's a really good one. It was ranking
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: something I think it was. But uh, we'll figure it out.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: Maybe we should let the listeners out there choose what
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: what topics they would like to hear me in the summer,
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: because you know, I could sit here. We got the
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: Premus this weekend, so we'll talk about that on Friday
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: for a little bit. But uh, and that, and then
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: you got the Belmont Stakes after that, After that is
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: the Olympics coming soon? When is the Olympics? Okay, never mind,
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: so we won't be talking Olympics, but yeah, it would
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: be all right. Everybody, have a great day. I appreciate
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: you listening, and we'll see you tomorrow.
- 1:34:58Speaker 4: Jessic Katz, welcome to the John Going and work there
- 1:35:04Speaker 4: every day, you learn a little.
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: I don't know where you can do or don't know
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: what to see. Take evident to me you can't have
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: anything you want. What's better
