- 1:37Speaker 1: Jean Jebel, the country dis jockey who is number one
- 1:42Speaker 1: with all the country artists around the country. We're in
- 1:45Speaker 1: the United States and that's a country, right So here
- 1:47Speaker 1: is Jeane Bell Part two, Jean Jabell, a guy who's
- 1:50Speaker 1: had his ass kicked by some of the greatest artists
- 1:53Speaker 1: in all of country music, that country being the United States.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Get out of here. The following is a collect Phil
- 2:00Speaker 1: Henry Show on gore Proof Worces Hi, everybody. This is
- 2:03Speaker 1: Jinge of Bell with Ginge of Bell's Country USA playing
- 2:06Speaker 1: the top country hits. I've played the top country hits
- 2:09Speaker 1: and I've gotten my ass kicked by the top country artists.
- 2:12Speaker 1: You know, everybody. I've been in country music my whole life.
- 2:14Speaker 1: It's a great way to make a living. It's a
- 2:16Speaker 1: fantastic life. I know some of the great stars of
- 2:18Speaker 1: all times because I'm a country artist. Many many country
- 2:21Speaker 1: artists are very very friendly with country disc jockeys. When
- 2:23Speaker 1: I call myself a country i'm country disc jockey. Sometimes
- 2:25Speaker 1: I confuse it. Sometimes I think I'm the artist and
- 2:27Speaker 1: they're the disc jockeys. Who knows. But I'm Ginge Bell
- 2:29Speaker 1: and now I'm selling this beautiful, beautiful collection of country
- 2:33Speaker 1: music hits. They aren't really the hits. They're just the
- 2:35Speaker 1: titles of the hits. When you put the needle on
- 2:37Speaker 1: the record or when you slip it into the CD
- 2:38Speaker 1: or when you put the tape on, what you're gonna
- 2:39Speaker 1: hear is me talking about the song, what the lyrics are, about,
- 2:42Speaker 1: what the song sounds like, and the artist the things
- 2:44Speaker 1: that I know about the artist. I won't be talking
- 2:45Speaker 1: about getting my ass kicked by them, because I do
- 2:47Speaker 1: that here on the radio show, and frankly it's humiliating,
- 2:49Speaker 1: but it is a way to sell the CD and
- 2:51Speaker 1: to sell the album. So yet this great compilation, it's
- 2:54Speaker 1: Ginge of Bell's great Country Hits, the top one hundred
- 2:56Speaker 1: country hits of all time. Where I don't play them,
- 2:58Speaker 1: I just talk about them, just described them, describe the artists,
- 3:01Speaker 1: and then I go on to the next one of
- 3:02Speaker 1: the next one, and the next one of the next one.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Is it interesting? Is it exciting? Most likely not. I
- 3:06Speaker 1: haven't even had the guts to listen to it, but
- 3:08Speaker 1: I'll tell you what it's selling. Like a mofo excuse
- 3:10Speaker 1: my language, that stands for you know, I'm Ginge Bell.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Jingja Bell get the top twenty country Hits of all time?
- 3:16Speaker 1: Or b square Jinge of Bell's Top Country Hits of
- 3:19Speaker 1: all time? Right too, jing A Bell Top Country Hits
- 3:22Speaker 1: care of all time. Jane of Bell, California. Here's a
- 3:25Speaker 1: great one from Brooks and Dune. She ain't the cheating guy.
- 3:27Speaker 1: And let me tell you what she's dressed to kill
- 3:30Speaker 1: in address he bought her. She wouldn't care get me
- 3:35Speaker 1: walked in and called her She's called the dance a
- 3:39Speaker 1: dancer too, and tearing what by the time the night
- 3:44Speaker 1: is all right? Brooklyn done here Ginge Bell here Country, USA.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Do you love that song or not? I love that
- 3:49Speaker 1: song that is coming in number one here on a
- 3:51Speaker 1: Ginge Bel memory chart here for this beautiful, beautiful Wednesday
- 3:55Speaker 1: here in Ginger Bell Country in Nashville, Tennessee. Boy, I
- 3:58Speaker 1: tell you want to thank Brooks and Done. By the way,
- 4:00Speaker 1: they were out at the Jeans of Bell Country Fair,
- 4:03Speaker 1: a big charity event we have every year, and Brooks
- 4:05Speaker 1: and Dunn were there. They're helping raise money, and I
- 4:08Speaker 1: want to say to them personally, thank you very much.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I'd also like to say to them personally that I
- 4:12Speaker 1: very very much regret that we did not have an
- 4:14Speaker 1: accounting right there is that right, Bob didn't have the
- 4:16Speaker 1: right one didn't have the right accounting at that time.
- 4:19Speaker 1: And it turned out that both of the gentlemen found
- 4:22Speaker 1: me with money in a briefcase that I was taking
- 4:25Speaker 1: and trying to put into the trunck of my car
- 4:27Speaker 1: before anybody could see what I was doing. And at
- 4:29Speaker 1: that time Brooks, I think it was mister Brooks, or
- 4:31Speaker 1: could have been mister Dunn. You know well about the
- 4:34Speaker 1: playing playing right, It felt the same. Mister Brooks came
- 4:37Speaker 1: over and hit me with the right handy, pretty good
- 4:39Speaker 1: shot right to the right side of my jaw. And
- 4:42Speaker 1: then as I dropped, he hit me with a cowboy boot.
- 4:44Speaker 1: He just brought the boot up, just that pointy toe
- 4:47Speaker 1: boot to the soft of the neck. And I don't
- 4:48Speaker 1: know if you've ever been kicked in the throat with
- 4:51Speaker 1: a cowboy boot with that point of toe, but I
- 4:53Speaker 1: can tell you it really does choke up. It choked
- 4:56Speaker 1: me in more ways than one, let me tell you that. Yeah,
- 4:58Speaker 1: and so kicked me. And then I think it was
- 5:01Speaker 1: Brooks who came along put me in a headlock, and
- 5:03Speaker 1: that's when he hit me two good shots in the jaws.
- 5:05Speaker 1: You know, you get somebody in the jaw or hit
- 5:07Speaker 1: me in the nose too, that'll knock you right out.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And I was blacking out. I was kind of browning
- 5:11Speaker 1: out and blacking out. And then Brooks came over again,
- 5:14Speaker 1: grabbed me by the nose, lifted me up by the nose,
- 5:16Speaker 1: hit me again with that cowboy boot. Ridney the Adam's apple.
- 5:19Speaker 1: So I had a very difficult time breathing. And then done,
- 5:22Speaker 1: came along, belded me in the gut, hit me a
- 5:25Speaker 1: couple of shots in the back, hit me a couple
- 5:27Speaker 1: of kidney shots. Took my head then and drove me
- 5:31Speaker 1: full force right into a brick wall that just happened
- 5:34Speaker 1: to be off the side there my Cadillac where I
- 5:36Speaker 1: had it parked. My head actually did go through the
- 5:39Speaker 1: brick wall, not through it, but it did crack a
- 5:41Speaker 1: couple of the mortar bricks there, the Mason bricks, and
- 5:44Speaker 1: I dropped and I started to get up again with
- 5:46Speaker 1: a suitcase under my hand, I under my arm right,
- 5:48Speaker 1: I had the money there in the suitcase. And that's
- 5:50Speaker 1: when mister Dunn came along, grabbed the suitcase and grabbed
- 5:53Speaker 1: my head again, and then drove my head into another
- 5:55Speaker 1: Mason block that comprised that wall. And at that point
- 5:59Speaker 1: I did be into brown out, I will say, and
- 6:01Speaker 1: I'm very proud of this. I did not blackout entirely,
- 6:03Speaker 1: but I did brown out quite a bit. So I
- 6:06Speaker 1: do again, thank Brooks. I'm done for that little bit
- 6:08Speaker 1: of lesson there in Larcenay. Has I tried to make
- 6:10Speaker 1: off with the money from the charity event there the
- 6:11Speaker 1: other night here on the ginger Bells show here, ginger
- 6:14Speaker 1: bell here. Hey how about this one? Huh? You remember
- 6:17Speaker 1: this one? I don't. I didn't. I didn't like it
- 6:19Speaker 1: when I first heard it, and now I still don't
- 6:21Speaker 1: like it. Oh yeah, this is this guy, this Van Dijk, Oh,
- 6:25Speaker 1: this ass. I told him. I said, I don't like
- 6:27Speaker 1: the way you're sing. He said, what are you talking about? It?
- 6:29Speaker 1: Going like you tomorrow? I said, you sound like you
- 6:32Speaker 1: have Hodgkinson's disease. You sound like you had part one
- 6:35Speaker 1: of those is it called Parkinson's. He said, I don't
- 6:37Speaker 1: know what you're talking about. I said, when you sing,
- 6:39Speaker 1: you sound like you don't have control over your nervous system.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Your nervous system. Well, he just kept looking at me quizzically.
- 6:45Speaker 1: It had all one of those Ryanstone suits and that
- 6:47Speaker 1: stupid looking guitar. I said, get out, okay, take that
- 6:51Speaker 1: gay ass suit your guitar and blow jack blow. And
- 6:54Speaker 1: when I say blow, I don't mean what you would prefer.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I mean blow as in leave. Two years later, walk
- 7:01Speaker 1: on by by Leroy van Dyke was a smash hit.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Is that Van Dyke or Dike? I forget it was
- 7:06Speaker 1: a smash hit. Well, I went ahead and place to
- 7:09Speaker 1: call him. I said, hey, Lee, or do you remember me?
- 7:10Speaker 1: I'm Jeane jabel I'm the guy that He said, yes,
- 7:12Speaker 1: I do remember you. Please come over. Do you want
- 7:14Speaker 1: to sign me to a management deal? I said, you better.
- 7:16Speaker 1: You bet your sweet ass, you know, the ass that
- 7:19Speaker 1: you had your thumb parked up. I said, yes, you
- 7:21Speaker 1: beat that. I mean, you can bet that. He said,
- 7:24Speaker 1: I beat what. I said. Well, anyway, I got over
- 7:26Speaker 1: there and he was standing there with a big spot
- 7:27Speaker 1: on his face, a big crap eating grin in his face.
- 7:30Speaker 1: He said, Jeane Zabelle. I said, yeah, he says, you
- 7:32Speaker 1: want to sign me to a man? It's a deal? Huh?
- 7:34Speaker 1: I said, yes, I do. As a matter of fact,
- 7:35Speaker 1: I do. Smoke, Come on and let's talk about it.
- 7:37Speaker 1: He had it all laid out there on the coffee table,
- 7:39Speaker 1: and we had pens, and he had coffee and even
- 7:41Speaker 1: had a bottle to toast the final signing of the deal.
- 7:44Speaker 1: So we signed it, and then he took it and
- 7:45Speaker 1: set fire to it and stuck it in my pants. Well, naturally,
- 7:50Speaker 1: I was screaming because I had a flaming wad of
- 7:52Speaker 1: paper in my pants, and apparently he had poured some
- 7:55Speaker 1: kind of flammable tar over it, so now it was
- 7:57Speaker 1: on fire in my pants. It was adhering to my skin,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and I was screaming like he just streaming bloody murder
- 8:03Speaker 1: as I ran down the street in flames way on
- 8:08Speaker 1: the corner. Jean Jabell, Jabel Country Music USA. When a
- 8:12Speaker 1: feature right now a song by D. L. Monard. This
- 8:14Speaker 1: is called the back Door, you know. After Minard hit
- 8:16Speaker 1: it big with a song on the back Door, I
- 8:18Speaker 1: decided to track him down to some shack in a bayou.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I offered to manage D. L. Monard, And then I
- 8:22Speaker 1: saw Manard's beautiful twenty two year old wife with a
- 8:25Speaker 1: big ass, and I wanted her to show me the
- 8:26Speaker 1: back door, you know. And anyway, Dell and his brothers
- 8:29Speaker 1: took turns beating me with two by four steel pipes,
- 8:32Speaker 1: masonry blocks, and an alligator skull. I was thrown into
- 8:35Speaker 1: the swamp and I was tacked by alligators and my
- 8:37Speaker 1: body was found by the authorities a few weeks later,
- 8:40Speaker 1: partially devoured. Abi Ganejabell, David get my ass kicked here
- 8:47Speaker 1: in Country Music USA? Jane Gibil, Yeah, it's Country Music
- 8:53Speaker 1: USA with me. Jean Jebel. Here's a song going way
- 8:56Speaker 1: way back to the day's of Patsy Climb when she
- 8:57Speaker 1: actually did fall to pieces in a plane crash. All right,
- 9:01Speaker 1: patsy Clin, when I fall to pieces here on the
- 9:03Speaker 1: Jean ju Bel Country at USA show. And I'll tell
- 9:05Speaker 1: you I started to stutter step a little bit there
- 9:07Speaker 1: when I was thinking about all the great things that
- 9:09Speaker 1: I had in mind for patsy Cline's estate. Patsy Clin,
- 9:11Speaker 1: of course, was very, very famous. When I was just
- 9:13Speaker 1: a little boy, I was a paper boy and I
- 9:14Speaker 1: hated country music. I listened to R and B anyway.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I went to patsy Cline's estate planning people. Then I said, listen,
- 9:20Speaker 1: I know that you are in control, in control of
- 9:22Speaker 1: patsy Clines of State and said, yes, we are. What
- 9:24Speaker 1: do you want? I said, oh, whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm
- 9:26Speaker 1: about to make you a lot of money, a lot
- 9:28Speaker 1: of money. I held up a little bubble head doll.
- 9:30Speaker 1: I said, how about the Patsy client bubble head doll?
- 9:32Speaker 1: And just for laugh the head comes off, and I said,
- 9:34Speaker 1: I'm only kidding, and only kidding. As they began to
- 9:36Speaker 1: get up from their chairs, they were moving toward me
- 9:37Speaker 1: in a rather menacing way, and I said, Okay, who
- 9:39Speaker 1: whoa whoa who who who whoa? I said, I'm only kidding.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Here is a patsy Cline vegiomatic. It chops things up
- 9:44Speaker 1: well into pieces. I said, but that's not the joke.
- 9:46Speaker 1: They began moving toward me even closer. I said, hold on,
- 9:48Speaker 1: hold on, here's the little patsy Cline balsa wood rubber
- 9:51Speaker 1: band airplane. Just fly it right into the mountain. And
- 9:54Speaker 1: that's when I felt hands grabbed me about the shoulders,
- 9:57Speaker 1: my belt, and my legs. I felt hand was lifting
- 10:00Speaker 1: me off the ground. It was very relaxing. I felt like, oh,
- 10:02Speaker 1: I think I could take a nap. Maybe that's what
- 10:03Speaker 1: they want me to do. Or they're gonna hoist me
- 10:05Speaker 1: over their shoulders and say hey for Jean Jabel. Well,
- 10:08Speaker 1: in point of fact, they did not. They took me
- 10:10Speaker 1: out onto a deck, a deck that was overlooking a
- 10:13Speaker 1: driveway and a swimming pool. This is where they usually
- 10:15Speaker 1: had cigarettes and coffee and whatever. They had cocktails at
- 10:17Speaker 1: the end of the day, and they lifted me up
- 10:19Speaker 1: high over their heads. There were about five of them,
- 10:21Speaker 1: five members of patsy Clines Estate planning group, and they
- 10:24Speaker 1: lifted me up and they threw me right down onto
- 10:26Speaker 1: the concrete driveway. But that wasn't all. There was someone
- 10:29Speaker 1: waiting downstairs in a car. They'd sent him ahead, and
- 10:32Speaker 1: as soon as I hit he backed the car over
- 10:34Speaker 1: top of me. What kind of a car? A hummer?
- 10:37Speaker 1: It didn't feel good. Well, as I tried to stagger
- 10:39Speaker 1: to my feet, it was very, very difficult. I finally
- 10:40Speaker 1: did get to my feet. The guy that had backed
- 10:42Speaker 1: over me saw that I'd stood up. He got the
- 10:44Speaker 1: high sign from upstairs. The guy gave him the big
- 10:46Speaker 1: thumbs up. When he saw me stand up, he said, yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 1: do it. The guy floored it and ran over me again.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I staggered on my feet again. He backed the humpy
- 10:56Speaker 1: back over top of me. I staggered on my feet again,
- 10:57Speaker 1: and he drove it over top of me again. And finally,
- 11:00Speaker 1: when my head was in a perfect position because I
- 11:02Speaker 1: was falling, getting up and falling and getting up, my
- 11:04Speaker 1: head was in a perfect position, they closed the electric
- 11:06Speaker 1: garage door on my head. Well, I must have screamed
- 11:11Speaker 1: for well into six hours or so, because the cops
- 11:14Speaker 1: didn't show up till well after midnight. I said why
- 11:16Speaker 1: are you here? They said, because of the screaming. I said,
- 11:18Speaker 1: when was it reported? They said, about five minutes ago.
- 11:21Speaker 1: The garage door closed on my head at a half
- 11:23Speaker 1: past five. Ye change you will country music usay, really
- 11:32Speaker 1: horrifying thing has happened. Stephen Tyler, who used to sing
- 11:35Speaker 1: for the group Aerosmith, has come out with a country
- 11:37Speaker 1: record called Love Is Your Name and You Kisses. Well
- 11:43Speaker 1: you can hear how rotten it is. And I confronted
- 11:45Speaker 1: Stephen about this on the phone just the other day, say, Stephen,
- 11:49Speaker 1: I'll tell you this song, Love is Your Name is
- 11:52Speaker 1: really rotten. Don't you think? No, I don't think it is.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I think, oh, you got some balls on you. When
- 11:59Speaker 1: I pased, that was Stephen Tyler and he's singing forrest.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Now Love is Your Name got a really terrible run?
- 12:07Speaker 1: You mean? But I caught up with Steven Tyler when
- 12:12Speaker 1: he got to town and I said that song still stinks,
- 12:14Speaker 1: ha ha ha. And it was then that he hit
- 12:17Speaker 1: me with a right hand and I dropped, and then
- 12:19Speaker 1: he got into his truck and backed it over my legs. Well,
- 12:23Speaker 1: when that very very heavy truck backed over my legs,
- 12:27Speaker 1: I went ah, because it hurt. It hurt really bad.
- 12:30Speaker 1: But Jean ja Bell ever the professional, even when I
- 12:34Speaker 1: have a truck backing over my legs, I'm very professional
- 12:37Speaker 1: with the way. I screamed, and I think angered mister Tyler.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I said ah, And he looked down and he said
- 12:44Speaker 1: that should really hurt you to the point where you
- 12:46Speaker 1: lose all semblance of any kind of countenance and you
- 12:49Speaker 1: just scream in agony. So he got back into his
- 12:52Speaker 1: truck and then drove it forward over my legs. But
- 12:54Speaker 1: again I went ah, And that really started pissing him off.
- 12:58Speaker 1: So he went into the bed of his truck and
- 13:00Speaker 1: opened up a big tool big toolbox that he had there,
- 13:03Speaker 1: and he found a wrench and he began hitting my knees,
- 13:06Speaker 1: each knee, and then the shin bones and then the feet,
- 13:09Speaker 1: and I was going, oh, it really hurts. And he said,
- 13:13Speaker 1: you know what, I can't stand this any longer, and
- 13:15Speaker 1: he backed the truck again over my legs, and then
- 13:18Speaker 1: once again went forward over my legs at I would say,
- 13:21Speaker 1: roughly sixty five miles an hour Jean Jabbel's Country, USA.
- 13:29Speaker 1: We'll be right back. Hey, Everybody's Jean Jabbell with you
- 13:34Speaker 1: here on the top country out us of all time.
- 13:36Speaker 1: But I've beaten my ass. Bloddy. Here's Kelsea, Ballerini and
- 13:39Speaker 1: Dibbs anybody wants. I wanted to have DIBs on her career,
- 13:44Speaker 1: but no, I didn't have DIBs on her career. Somebody
- 13:46Speaker 1: else side her said, come on, Chelsey, you know you
- 13:48Speaker 1: want and you need and you know that you desired
- 13:51Speaker 1: Jean Jabbelle. She said, let me show you how much
- 13:53Speaker 1: I want and desire you. She said, have you ever
- 13:55Speaker 1: been shrimping? I said, matter of fact, I have. She said,
- 13:58Speaker 1: let's go on out to that pier in Coco Beach,
- 13:59Speaker 1: will go shrimp. And I said that's fine with me.
- 14:01Speaker 1: And I realized I had it in here because she
- 14:03Speaker 1: loved shrimping and deep sea fishing. I didn't really. I
- 14:06Speaker 1: can't stand the smell of fish. I can't stand the ocean.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I can't stand having anything to do with, you know,
- 14:11Speaker 1: working class people. But hey, if she wanted to go
- 14:13Speaker 1: out there and go shrimp, and I said sure. I
- 14:15Speaker 1: brought a big net and I had a head on
- 14:17Speaker 1: my you know, extra special dungarees. I was looking good
- 14:20Speaker 1: looking right Saturday night. I went out there and she
- 14:22Speaker 1: said you know what the best way to shrimp is
- 14:24Speaker 1: to go in and get them. I said, what do
- 14:27Speaker 1: you mean, going and get them? Well, here's what I mean,
- 14:28Speaker 1: and she pushed me off the pier. Tnnyfoot dropped. I
- 14:31Speaker 1: hit the water and I was okay. Find with me
- 14:34Speaker 1: and I started swimming out on the strip. But I
- 14:35Speaker 1: finally got out of there with the shrimp. I must
- 14:37Speaker 1: have had about a half a dozen to a dozen.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Finally got about twenty twenty four or thirty four shrimp.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I got out and went up out of the pier. Well,
- 14:43Speaker 1: she was long gone. She'd been gone for a full hour.
- 14:45Speaker 1: The limousine was gone, and we were a good fifty
- 14:48Speaker 1: miles away from Orlando, which is where I had gotten
- 14:50Speaker 1: off the plane. I got a hotel and that was
- 14:52Speaker 1: where I was going to meet her. Now I had
- 14:53Speaker 1: to hitchhike all the way back because my phone got
- 14:55Speaker 1: wet when I fell into the end of the service.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I finally made my way back there. I said, Kelsey,
- 14:59Speaker 1: that wasn't very funny. She said, no, it wasn't. Here's
- 15:01Speaker 1: one that's funny. She said, would you mind going in
- 15:03Speaker 1: the kitchen there and getting me a cold drink? I said, sure,
- 15:06Speaker 1: so I walked in, but she had somebody behind a door,
- 15:08Speaker 1: and they went, excuse me, bang slammed it right into
- 15:11Speaker 1: my face. I fell backwards, and I fell backwards into
- 15:14Speaker 1: a cat box that they were cleaning, or were about
- 15:16Speaker 1: to clean, and they positioned it just where my head
- 15:18Speaker 1: would fall. So my head fell right into a warm, warm,
- 15:22Speaker 1: brand new cat turn. Jean, youbell tell you that was
- 15:29Speaker 1: very funny. Ha ha. I still smell it it, I
- 15:34Speaker 1: guess still smell it. If you got a heart and
- 15:37Speaker 1: afraid you to love me, afraid to bring Hey dad,
- 15:41Speaker 1: I'm really hungry tonight. Where are we gonna go eat?
- 15:43Speaker 1: How about Winston Harlow's Barbecue. That's right, that's the third
- 15:46Speaker 1: different name now for our restaurant, Winston Harlow's Barbecue in
- 15:49Speaker 1: downtown Nashville. If you go to downtown Nashville and see
- 15:52Speaker 1: Winston Harlow's Barbecue, well, I guess you found a place. Huh.
- 15:56Speaker 1: I don't have time for a whole lot of fancy talk.
- 15:58Speaker 1: I don't have time to be a nice guy, to
- 16:00Speaker 1: be a gracious guy, to be a gracious host. Sit
- 16:03Speaker 1: your ass down. I'll stick some ribs in front of you.
- 16:05Speaker 1: If it isn't good. Fine, get up and get out,
- 16:08Speaker 1: because I can guarantee you there's some others smuck some
- 16:11Speaker 1: forget it Winston Harlow's barbecue, Say dad, that sounds pretty good,
- 16:15Speaker 1: go uppy and called hey, GJ bel here Country music USA.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Getting my ass kicked by some of the top names
- 16:23Speaker 1: and country music. You know. I showed up in an
- 16:24Speaker 1: Alabama ANDAACP convention in blackface. Let me tell you about it.
- 16:28Speaker 1: The original artist singing this song was Emmitt Miller, and
- 16:30Speaker 1: he performed this song in blackface. So I showed up
- 16:33Speaker 1: at the NAACP concert in blackface, saying the hold on
- 16:35Speaker 1: for a minute. The country music idiom. The country music
- 16:38Speaker 1: genre has a great tradition of blackface featuring Emmon Miller.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Don't you understand? I was beaten with lead pipes, chairs
- 16:45Speaker 1: and benches. I was thrown in the back of a
- 16:46Speaker 1: pickup truck and I was driven to a junkyard. I
- 16:49Speaker 1: was put into a car crusher with a sixty nine
- 16:51Speaker 1: Lincoln and crushed into a metal cube. Yeah. Tim McGraw
- 16:56Speaker 1: here in hubbloedo kind which he isn't, by the way,
- 16:58Speaker 1: geez under the man childhood Starshine always say humble and
- 17:07Speaker 1: Tim mcgrouther and he is not humbling kind when I
- 17:09Speaker 1: said to him, you know, when I first met him,
- 17:10Speaker 1: I said, you know, hey, why don't you come back
- 17:12Speaker 1: when you tune your guitar. Kid, I didn't know who
- 17:13Speaker 1: he was, some punk was playing some dump some dive
- 17:15Speaker 1: of the south side of town. But it turned out
- 17:18Speaker 1: that he was a big hit and a big star.
- 17:19Speaker 1: And I went over to his office and I said, wow,
- 17:21Speaker 1: look at you. You got an office. I said, yes,
- 17:23Speaker 1: I do, mister Joel. I said, well, now I'd like
- 17:24Speaker 1: to sign to that management deal and he said I'm sorry,
- 17:26Speaker 1: I've already signed to a manager. And I said, you're
- 17:28Speaker 1: a back stab and Roube, you're a back stabing hicic.
- 17:31Speaker 1: You'd stab me Jeanejabel in the back. And that's when
- 17:34Speaker 1: he had two big oafs, two big torpedoes, picked me
- 17:37Speaker 1: up and throw me down two flights of stairs, and
- 17:39Speaker 1: then they kicked me at the door and then pushed
- 17:42Speaker 1: me across it would look like a wrought iron fence
- 17:44Speaker 1: and right into a mud puddle. And I got up
- 17:46Speaker 1: and my face was covered with mud. In the front
- 17:48Speaker 1: of my suit was covered with mud. And I turned
- 17:50Speaker 1: and I said, thanks a lot, Tim, come gja bel
- 17:54Speaker 1: Air with a big, big hit here on cut for USA.
- 17:56Speaker 1: That's called Humbling Kind. And as I said, humbling cind
- 18:00Speaker 1: just what I am not, Tim McGraw, It's what I
- 18:02Speaker 1: am not, Tim McGrath. Lovely and Angel cover Laurie Class Life.
- 18:15Speaker 1: You know the story of this song, don't you, Everybody?
- 18:21Speaker 1: Strange things happening in this world. I'll tell you, strange
- 18:29Speaker 1: things do happen in this world. Ginger Bell here Country, USA.
- 18:31Speaker 1: There he is the great Dicky Lee and Laurie. I
- 18:34Speaker 1: met Dickie Lee and he had brought to me a
- 18:35Speaker 1: man by the name of William Prescoll. You remember William.
- 18:38Speaker 1: William was a wonderful man. This is a man who
- 18:40Speaker 1: had lost his daughter. He lost his daughter in a
- 18:43Speaker 1: trucking accent of sun Kind, who was a lumber truck
- 18:45Speaker 1: and the lumber had slid out the back of the
- 18:47Speaker 1: flatbed of the truck and it had caved in on
- 18:49Speaker 1: a car that they were following in very very close behind.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Horrible action. The man had lost his daughter. And Dickie
- 18:54Speaker 1: had introduced this man to me, and I said, well,
- 18:57Speaker 1: did you lose your daughter? And in this act he
- 18:59Speaker 1: said yes, I did. I said, I'm very sorry to
- 19:01Speaker 1: hear that. I said, And as a joke, I said,
- 19:03Speaker 1: you know, last night I went to a dance and
- 19:05Speaker 1: I met a girl and he told me what his
- 19:07Speaker 1: daughter's name was. And I said, you didn't do that,
- 19:09Speaker 1: did you? Oh? Come on, I said, oh, I danced
- 19:12Speaker 1: for the young lady by that name, and I thought
- 19:14Speaker 1: of bringing her home to you, but I thought I
- 19:16Speaker 1: knew it was going to happen. You see, your daughter
- 19:18Speaker 1: died and I took her to the graveyard. I went
- 19:20Speaker 1: head and buried her there anyway, because I knew that
- 19:22Speaker 1: that's where she below. I thought that was very, very funny.
- 19:24Speaker 1: And he said, you think that's funny, I said, I
- 19:27Speaker 1: sort of do. He did three stooges. He fainted with
- 19:30Speaker 1: the two fingers like he was going to lay him
- 19:31Speaker 1: into my eyeballs, and I thought, whooa, you know, this
- 19:33Speaker 1: is a lot of fun I said, where'd you find
- 19:35Speaker 1: this guy, Dickie? This guy's great. By that point, Dicky
- 19:37Speaker 1: had retreated. He had backed up over toward a lemonade
- 19:40Speaker 1: stand that we had there, and he was just going
- 19:42Speaker 1: to get himself a lemonade and see what transpired. So
- 19:44Speaker 1: I realized that was on my own. And this man
- 19:47Speaker 1: tried to faint. He fainted like he's going to do
- 19:48Speaker 1: two fingers into the eyeballs. But then he grabbed me
- 19:50Speaker 1: by the nose. He hooked me with those two fingers
- 19:53Speaker 1: in each nostril, and he brought my face, the full
- 19:56Speaker 1: of my face, right down on a knee that he
- 19:58Speaker 1: was driving up with equal force. Say that knee at
- 20:01Speaker 1: the point that it hit my face was doing a
- 20:03Speaker 1: good thirty five to forty bars an hour. There's no
- 20:05Speaker 1: question in my mind if I'd had a clock on it,
- 20:08Speaker 1: I swear to Almighty got if you could imagine your
- 20:10Speaker 1: face going to what you guys need, it's going forty
- 20:12Speaker 1: miles an hour. It doesn't feel good, I can tell
- 20:14Speaker 1: you that. And I looked up in the mirror and
- 20:15Speaker 1: I said, that was a good one, man, It really was.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I looked at him, I congratulated him, shook his hand.
- 20:18Speaker 1: I looked in the mirror, and when your face is
- 20:20Speaker 1: flattened by a man's knee, you look almost ape, like
- 20:23Speaker 1: you've got the noses sticking up, like you're a monkey.
- 20:26Speaker 1: And I went, man, you put a monkey. I said,
- 20:27Speaker 1: you put the monkey on me. He said, I haven't
- 20:29Speaker 1: even finished. He said, I'm going to go ape on you.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I said, you put a monkey on me, you go ape.
- 20:34Speaker 1: He said, it's called Baker's Field Chimp. And that's when
- 20:36Speaker 1: he grabbed me and he began to I would say,
- 20:39Speaker 1: in a pile driving motion, just repeatedly boom boom boom
- 20:42Speaker 1: boom boom. My head into a metal post that was
- 20:45Speaker 1: there just underneath the grandstands there at walke Keagan coll
- 20:48Speaker 1: a scene where we had seen the show. And I
- 20:50Speaker 1: dropped and I started as stagger to my feet, and
- 20:52Speaker 1: I said, where are the proceeds from the show tonight?
- 20:54Speaker 1: Because I was making a joke where the proceeds from
- 20:56Speaker 1: the shouder night? Because I want to make it to
- 20:57Speaker 1: my car and try to get away from this this sucker.
- 21:00Speaker 1: And that's when he grabbed me again. Boom boom boom
- 21:02Speaker 1: boom into the post. I slid down again. I started
- 21:05Speaker 1: to stag it at my feet. He hit me with
- 21:07Speaker 1: a gut shot, hit me with another kidney shot. He
- 21:09Speaker 1: took my head and started to twist it and I
- 21:11Speaker 1: started to kind of in a fake way, go ah,
- 21:14Speaker 1: like it was hurting me, but it really wasn't what
- 21:16Speaker 1: it was hurting me, but by that point all the
- 21:18Speaker 1: pain had gone because I think he severed some nerves,
- 21:20Speaker 1: and I think the spinal cord was really injured and
- 21:22Speaker 1: had I couldn't feel my hands, I couldn't feel my feet.
- 21:24Speaker 1: And that's when he just laid me there and he
- 21:26Speaker 1: took what looked like a desk. And when I say
- 21:28Speaker 1: it looked like a desk, I couldn't imagine lifted up
- 21:30Speaker 1: a desk. But he lifted the desk up and he
- 21:32Speaker 1: dropped it on me. He dropped it in the small
- 21:34Speaker 1: of my back and then picked it up again, dropped
- 21:37Speaker 1: it at the large of my back, and then picked
- 21:38Speaker 1: it up again, and he dropped it on top of
- 21:40Speaker 1: my head. And that's why I learned my list. And
- 21:41Speaker 1: I said, Bob, but don't you ever don't get between
- 21:43Speaker 1: a dog and his meat. And sure as hell, don't
- 21:45Speaker 1: start making fun of a man's daughter if she'd had
- 21:47Speaker 1: a lumber truck back into her and kill her very
- 21:50Speaker 1: night before. Don't start making jokes about how you went
- 21:52Speaker 1: dancing with her and who she wanted my jacket, I
- 21:53Speaker 1: put it on a grapestone ginger bell Country USA. We
- 21:57Speaker 1: played the great country songs and I get my ass,
- 22:00Speaker 1: but a great country artists. I even get my ass
- 22:02Speaker 1: kicked by some of the great female country artists, thin Danny.
- 22:06Speaker 1: All right, that's enough of that whaling pill head. Now
- 22:08Speaker 1: I can tell you something about Tammy Whine. And I
- 22:10Speaker 1: came to her house and I said, Tammy, I think
- 22:12Speaker 1: you are phenomenal. I know you were married to an
- 22:13Speaker 1: alcoholic by the name of George Jones. I think George
- 22:15Speaker 1: is a very fantastic artist, a wonderful artist. It's too
- 22:17Speaker 1: bad about his drinking. And she said, well, what do
- 22:19Speaker 1: you think about this. I've been in the hospital, in
- 22:21Speaker 1: and out of the hospital with all kinds of pill problems,
- 22:23Speaker 1: all kinds of problems like that. I said, you know what, Tammy,
- 22:24Speaker 1: it doesn't make any difference to me because I'm jean
- 22:26Speaker 1: Ja Belle Country USA. I signed some of the great
- 22:28Speaker 1: artists of all time. She said, I also heard you
- 22:30Speaker 1: get your ass kicked by some of the great artists
- 22:32Speaker 1: of all time. I said, Tammy, that's true. She said,
- 22:34Speaker 1: did you know that I'm working out now? I said no,
- 22:35Speaker 1: I didn't know that. She said, I'm using these little
- 22:37Speaker 1: these little weights. See this little barbell here. I said, yeah,
- 22:40Speaker 1: what's that? About a twenty potter. She said, yes, it is,
- 22:42Speaker 1: but you can tell me for sure, and she brought
- 22:44Speaker 1: that thing crashing down on top of my head. She
- 22:46Speaker 1: uses two hands and she just cracked that thing right
- 22:49Speaker 1: down on top of my skull. She said, Gene, I
- 22:51Speaker 1: heard you got a thick skull like an artillery shell.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I said, I think I do, because I was stunned.
- 22:58Speaker 1: She said, nope, not hard enough, and she cracked it
- 23:01Speaker 1: down on my head one more time. That's when blood
- 23:03Speaker 1: began filling my ears and my eyes and I went,
- 23:07Speaker 1: damn me, well, you sign a deal with me. She said, ah,
- 23:11Speaker 1: oh my god. I can't stop Jean Jabell. He's like
- 23:14Speaker 1: a raging freak, like a raging monster or something. I
- 23:18Speaker 1: gotta get out of here. That's when Tammy Wynette, the
- 23:21Speaker 1: great Contriatist, ran out of her house and I went
- 23:23Speaker 1: staggering after her. Someone tripped me and dropped me to
- 23:26Speaker 1: the ground, and that's when they began beating me with
- 23:28Speaker 1: the butt of a rifle. I looked up and I
- 23:30Speaker 1: realized it was a bodyguard, and I turned and I
- 23:32Speaker 1: grabbed the rifle, but he pushed my hands away and
- 23:34Speaker 1: kept beating my face in with the butt of this rifle.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Somebody else came along with another rifle, stuck it right
- 23:39Speaker 1: into my solar plexus and said, I swear to Almighty God,
- 23:42Speaker 1: I'm gonna pull the trigger if you don't get out
- 23:44Speaker 1: of here, I said, clearly. I got up and started
- 23:47Speaker 1: to stagger after Tammy Wynette. She got into a car.
- 23:49Speaker 1: She drove about two miles down the road. She got
- 23:51Speaker 1: out of her car. She wrote it, she just ran
- 23:53Speaker 1: into an office. Well, I don't know how, but I
- 23:55Speaker 1: was there already, just staggering along. I must be staggering
- 23:58Speaker 1: about thirty miles an hour. I finally there. I knocked
- 24:00Speaker 1: on the door. She said, ah, how could you be
- 24:02Speaker 1: here in this much time? And I said, Timmy, it's
- 24:04Speaker 1: change a Bell and I never give up. Only it
- 24:06Speaker 1: sounded more like Tammy Jane Bell. Nah, God, God got.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I heard the distinct cocking of a shotgun, and then
- 24:14Speaker 1: I felt the butt shot go into my ass. Jane
- 24:31Speaker 1: A Bell. Here's a great man. You're a George Jones,
- 24:33Speaker 1: A great man, A great loss, a great loss to
- 24:35Speaker 1: the country. When we lost George Jones, we lost George Jones.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Though it was just one less guy with a pill
- 24:40Speaker 1: problem and an alcohol problem right off the front pages.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Now a lot of people said to me, Ginger Bell,
- 24:44Speaker 1: you're a cruel You're a cruel and sad man. How
- 24:47Speaker 1: dare you You will never be even one third of
- 24:49Speaker 1: the man the George Jones is. I said, well, she's,
- 24:51Speaker 1: dear George Jones will never now be one third the
- 24:53Speaker 1: man I am, because there ain't nothing left of him now,
- 24:56Speaker 1: is there. And they said that's really kind of swine like,
- 24:59Speaker 1: and they need me in nuts, and then kneed me
- 25:01Speaker 1: in the forehead and pushed me down the steps of
- 25:03Speaker 1: the church this was a memorial for George Jones. Rolled
- 25:07Speaker 1: me down another set of steps, down onto the sidewalk,
- 25:09Speaker 1: and then everyone just kind of jumped on me and
- 25:11Speaker 1: started pummeling me with fists. Somebody picked up what looked
- 25:14Speaker 1: like a campaign sign. I don't know who it was for,
- 25:17Speaker 1: but it had a good wooden base to it, and
- 25:19Speaker 1: they picked that up and ben slamming it in my
- 25:21Speaker 1: head and breaking over the back of my head till
- 25:23Speaker 1: finally they rolled me right out of the gut or
- 25:25Speaker 1: the street, right in front of the church where they
- 25:26Speaker 1: were having this memorial for George Jones. I got up
- 25:29Speaker 1: and I said and they said, well, you can't sign
- 25:33Speaker 1: George Jones to a management contract because he's dead. He's dead,
- 25:38Speaker 1: And I said, thank you for reminding me, because i'd forgotten.
- 25:41Speaker 1: That's why I was here to sign him to a
- 25:43Speaker 1: management contract. And I realized this is a memorial service.
- 25:46Speaker 1: He's dead, So thank you. No need to get angry.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Bell always comes around. Just today, I am Gene Belle.
- 25:55Speaker 1: You know what, I always always always come to my
- 25:57Speaker 1: senses here to Ginge of Bell's country Us childon there
- 26:00Speaker 1: was Sangree. You know. Back when I was promoting the
- 26:02Speaker 1: dance show, I went to the Nashville Predator hockey team
- 26:04Speaker 1: and I said, I want to get out there under
- 26:05Speaker 1: the ice and I'd like to I'd like to do
- 26:08Speaker 1: a little skater around for my listeners. If that's okay.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I think it's kind of a fun thing. They said, whatever,
- 26:12Speaker 1: you know, we're not open on we don't have a
- 26:14Speaker 1: game on Sundays. Watch you bring him on out there. Well,
- 26:15Speaker 1: one of the young people who was out there skating
- 26:17Speaker 1: that day was Blake Shelton. I'll never forget because I
- 26:19Speaker 1: thought he was some kind of a slob out there.
- 26:21Speaker 1: He wasn't dressed very well. He had a young lady
- 26:23Speaker 1: with him. I said, don't you know how to dress?
- 26:25Speaker 1: He said, boy, mister Jabelle, I think you're fantastic. I
- 26:27Speaker 1: hope one day to get one of my records on
- 26:28Speaker 1: your show. And I said, well you are not only
- 26:30Speaker 1: you're not going to get a record on my show,
- 26:32Speaker 1: but I'm throwing your ass off the ice right now.
- 26:34Speaker 1: What are those cheap creep dungarees you're wearing? And what
- 26:37Speaker 1: kind of a shirt is that with the plaid and
- 26:39Speaker 1: the tail hanging out? You look like some kind of
- 26:42Speaker 1: a bum. You look like a Nashville grunge slash hip
- 26:46Speaker 1: hop I don't know, some kind of an asshole. And
- 26:49Speaker 1: I had them throw him out. And a few years later,
- 26:52Speaker 1: I ran into Blake Shelton at that very ice arena.
- 26:54Speaker 1: He was there to promote a Nashville Predator game and
- 26:57Speaker 1: he was out skating around with the Nashville Predators doing
- 26:59Speaker 1: a kind of a skater ing, know how a lot
- 27:01Speaker 1: of the stars do. And so I put on some skates.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I said, I got to go out and I want
- 27:04Speaker 1: to talk to Blade Shelton. And they said you're not
- 27:05Speaker 1: allowed out of the ice, and I said, well, hold on,
- 27:07Speaker 1: I know him very very well because we've talked. And
- 27:09Speaker 1: they said please get away from him, and I said,
- 27:11Speaker 1: you don't understand. So Blake turned, he saw me coming
- 27:13Speaker 1: toward me, recognized me. He got fright for some reason,
- 27:16Speaker 1: and I said, Blake, remember me, I'm jing a Bell.
- 27:18Speaker 1: He turned and began to skate away from me. Well,
- 27:20Speaker 1: as I skated after my trip, and as my face
- 27:22Speaker 1: fell forward, okay, the back of his skate hit my
- 27:26Speaker 1: mouth full, knocking out all of the upper row of teeth,
- 27:29Speaker 1: I blacked out. When I came to, I basically had
- 27:32Speaker 1: no teeth in my mouth at all, the lower row
- 27:34Speaker 1: having been knocked out by a second swing of the skate.
- 27:37Speaker 1: So my face went down hit the first skate bounced off,
- 27:40Speaker 1: the ice went up in the air, and the second
- 27:42Speaker 1: skate hit me full of the mouth, not only the
- 27:45Speaker 1: skate shoe, but the blade itself, so the back end
- 27:48Speaker 1: of the blade and I had lacerations that made it
- 27:50Speaker 1: almost look as if I'd been given the Chelsea grin.
- 27:53Speaker 1: I looked like the Joker with the blood coming down
- 27:55Speaker 1: and my eyeballs bulging out. And I said, hey, big
- 27:58Speaker 1: blog will flog me. And again he said, you sound
- 28:02Speaker 1: like an insensible ghoul. Get away from me, get away
- 28:04Speaker 1: from everyone that I know, And I said you oh.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I got up. I escaped the restraints of the medical people,
- 28:11Speaker 1: and I began again to lurch toward him. I had
- 28:13Speaker 1: on skates, and so I was doing a half lurch,
- 28:15Speaker 1: half skate toward him. He screamed and tried to get
- 28:18Speaker 1: out of the arena. There he got off the ice.
- 28:20Speaker 1: His security people came over. One of them popped me
- 28:23Speaker 1: with the right hand. The other hit me with a left.
- 28:25Speaker 1: The full effect of that was almost like a sandwiching
- 28:27Speaker 1: of those two fists, and that knocked the final two
- 28:31Speaker 1: or three teeth the back molers out of my mouth.
- 28:33Speaker 1: It also cracked the jaw, the upper part of my mouth,
- 28:36Speaker 1: and it also fractured the jaw near the hairline. As
- 28:41Speaker 1: I fell, my nose hit the ice, so I broke
- 28:43Speaker 1: my nose in two places. And then when I got
- 28:45Speaker 1: up one more time to try to lurch and grab
- 28:47Speaker 1: a hold of Blake Shelton's leg, someone came along and
- 28:50Speaker 1: stepped on my hand and that broke the wrist flattened
- 28:54Speaker 1: a few bones in that right hand. I came over
- 28:56Speaker 1: with the left hand to try to grab his other leg,
- 28:58Speaker 1: and someone took a baseball bat and basically they pulverized
- 29:00Speaker 1: all the bones in that hand. The screaming, they say,
- 29:04Speaker 1: went on for at least ten minutes. I don't remember.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I was in almost kind of a fugue state, you know,
- 29:09Speaker 1: but I heard someone screaming. They told me later it
- 29:11Speaker 1: was me. And that went on for a good ten
- 29:13Speaker 1: to fifteen minutes until they finally picked me up, threw
- 29:16Speaker 1: me in the back of a looked like one of
- 29:18Speaker 1: those old milk wagons. They didn't have an ambulance. They
- 29:20Speaker 1: didn't really want to waste the time of an ambulance.
- 29:22Speaker 1: They threw me in the back of a milk wagon
- 29:24Speaker 1: pulled up still rolling in front of the hospital. As
- 29:27Speaker 1: they were moving along about twenty miles an hour, pushed
- 29:29Speaker 1: me out the back door. I fell onto the circular
- 29:31Speaker 1: driveway there of the hospital. I got up, staggered, and
- 29:34Speaker 1: lurched into the emergency room. Excuse me, and I said,
- 29:38Speaker 1: I deserve and nay, nay, not only do I deserve,
- 29:40Speaker 1: but I demand service right now. Of course, I was
- 29:43Speaker 1: saying this again through a mouth filled and clotted with blood,
- 29:46Speaker 1: so it sounded like this. It sounded like well, I've
- 29:51Speaker 1: heard the tape recording and it's quite striking. It's quite
- 29:54Speaker 1: quite interesting. It's really really quite interesting, Blake Chilton. What
- 29:59Speaker 1: it brings as the Johnny is Johnny, one of the great, great,
- 30:01Speaker 1: great country out his voltail of the great song Ride
- 30:03Speaker 1: my Thumb to Mexico. Well, when he came to my office,
- 30:07Speaker 1: he said, hey, mister Jabel, I need a manager. I
- 30:09Speaker 1: got a song. Is what's it called? I said, Riding
- 30:10Speaker 1: my Thumb to Mexico. I said, what makes you think
- 30:12Speaker 1: that people north of the border, Johnny, okay, north of
- 30:16Speaker 1: the border, when I hear you talk about your thumb
- 30:18Speaker 1: parked up your ass. Said well, mister Jabel, it's not
- 30:21Speaker 1: exactly like that. I said, that's exactly what it is.
- 30:24Speaker 1: It's a song about you having your thumb parked in
- 30:26Speaker 1: your ass, and guess what, it's still parked up there.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Get out, get out and do the gardening on your
- 30:31Speaker 1: way out. About a year, Ride my Thumb to Mexico
- 30:34Speaker 1: was a smash hit all across the country, all across
- 30:37Speaker 1: the world, as a matter of fact. So I called
- 30:39Speaker 1: up Johnny's manager and I got a bodyguard. I called
- 30:41Speaker 1: up the bodyguard and asked him to connect me to
- 30:43Speaker 1: the manager, and then the manager connected me to the agent.
- 30:45Speaker 1: The agent connected me to the record company. The record
- 30:48Speaker 1: company connected me to the internal security of Johnny's organization.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I talked to the internal security of Johnny's organization. They
- 30:54Speaker 1: connect me to the record producer. The record producer then
- 30:55Speaker 1: connected me to Johnny's immediate family. Then they in turn
- 30:58Speaker 1: did not connect me to Johnny, and I asked why not.
- 31:00Speaker 1: They said, because you're a pain in the ass. Frankly,
- 31:03Speaker 1: we don't want to have to smell you. Okay, because
- 31:05Speaker 1: Johnny tells us it ain't too good. I said, come on,
- 31:08Speaker 1: give me a break. I hadn't slept all night, but
- 31:10Speaker 1: drink it all night. I probably had bet. Oh, but
- 31:13Speaker 1: I'm here to make a big, big sale. And I said, sure, Jeane,
- 31:16Speaker 1: come on over. So I got all dressed up, I
- 31:18Speaker 1: got on a limousine. I drove over to Johnny's place.
- 31:20Speaker 1: I walked in the door and Johnny said, Hi, you're
- 31:22Speaker 1: Ginge Bell. I said, yeah, you remember me. I'm the
- 31:24Speaker 1: guy that told you. And mid sentence, once again, here
- 31:27Speaker 1: comes the lid of a piano. My head had been
- 31:29Speaker 1: laid down inside the piano and they were slamming the
- 31:32Speaker 1: piano lid on my head repeatedly. Oh Gane of Bells
- 31:37Speaker 1: had his ass kicked by some of the top names
- 31:39Speaker 1: in country music. Are you one of them? Send us
- 31:43Speaker 1: up self addressed, stamped envelope and a postcard telling us
- 31:45Speaker 1: how you beat Ginge Bell almost to death. Tell us
- 31:48Speaker 1: who you are, your record label, and your hit record,
- 31:51Speaker 1: and we'll be happy to include you on Jeane of
- 31:54Speaker 1: Bell's Top country Artists of all time getting his ass
- 31:57Speaker 1: beat fans Jeanja Bell here. I'll be out there at
- 31:59Speaker 1: the Small Playgrounds that's the sport Book Playgrounds, and that
- 32:02Speaker 1: will be on the first, second, third, fourth, eight, ninth, tenth,
- 32:06Speaker 1: and fifteenth of February. Don't ask me. I wanted it
- 32:08Speaker 1: that way, and I think it's going to be a
- 32:09Speaker 1: fantastic time the Spa Playground. And if you come early
- 32:12Speaker 1: you get a ginge Bel baseball cap. You'll also get
- 32:14Speaker 1: a Ginga Bel mask and a ginger Bel pair of tight, tight,
- 32:17Speaker 1: very very tight leather pants so tight you can see
- 32:19Speaker 1: every single solitary crack and indentation. That's the Ginga Bell
- 32:25Speaker 1: Jingabel pants. Come on out to see me Jinga Bell
- 32:28Speaker 1: at the Split Playground. And that'll be on the first, third, fifth.
- 32:30Speaker 1: I forget the dates, but it will be next month.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Jing of Bell Country Music USA, come on out and
- 32:35Speaker 1: see Gene next month. The steps come these two guys,
- 32:39Speaker 1: two dudes, had looked like they had just fallen right
- 32:41Speaker 1: out of a cat's rear end. They had a banjo,
- 32:43Speaker 1: a guitar, some jazz. I said, what's with you guys?
- 32:45Speaker 1: I said, well, we got a country group and we'd
- 32:47Speaker 1: like you to maybe manage us. I started making fun
- 32:50Speaker 1: of the guys. Stutter he's going and mister Gidel, I said, yeah, yez.
- 32:53Speaker 1: What's the name of your group? He goes, It's Rascal
- 32:57Speaker 1: Flats and I'm laughing. I don't even know if the
- 32:59Speaker 1: guy really stutters up, and that's how I remember it.
- 33:01Speaker 1: I said, well, play a song for me, and they
- 33:03Speaker 1: put out about two or three notes of a song
- 33:05Speaker 1: and I said, it's stinks. Get out, and I went
- 33:07Speaker 1: back to counting my casher seats. They said, mister Jabell,
- 33:09Speaker 1: you should treat people better than that. We had a
- 33:11Speaker 1: whole song we wanted to do. And I looked up
- 33:13Speaker 1: and I said, are you do I hear some I
- 33:14Speaker 1: think I hear that's not a cat. That's not a mouse,
- 33:17Speaker 1: that's you still talking right? He said yeah. I said,
- 33:19Speaker 1: I told you to get out of here, and that's
- 33:21Speaker 1: when I pulled a gun and I pointed it directly
- 33:22Speaker 1: at his head and that's when he turned around and said,
- 33:24Speaker 1: I'm sorry, mister Jabell and the other guy and they
- 33:26Speaker 1: walked out into the street, and just as they were
- 33:28Speaker 1: walking out onto the street, I said, hey, turn around,
- 33:31Speaker 1: I got something for you. And they turned around. I said, look,
- 33:33Speaker 1: it's not even loaded. What a couple of chump chimps.
- 33:37Speaker 1: That's when they decided they're going to come after me.
- 33:39Speaker 1: And that's when I brought an Igor, my bodyguard, and
- 33:41Speaker 1: that's when he laid them out. With one punch. He
- 33:44Speaker 1: hit the guy in front. The other guy fell down
- 33:46Speaker 1: just by looking at that punch. The two of them
- 33:47Speaker 1: were out for hours. I decided, hey, why not we
- 33:51Speaker 1: rolled them out in the street and backed by Cadillac
- 33:54Speaker 1: over top of them. About a year later, I'm listening
- 33:57Speaker 1: to the radio and here comes this song. It's called
- 33:59Speaker 1: back to Life. I said, yeah, I'm back to life.
- 34:01Speaker 1: What back from the dead? And I think one of
- 34:03Speaker 1: the guys from my office said, don't you realize that's
- 34:05Speaker 1: Rascal Flats. You drove your car over top of them.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I said, you know what, You're right, this is a
- 34:09Speaker 1: good song. And so we drove to where their offices
- 34:11Speaker 1: were and I said, I'm Jean Jabelle. Hi, I'm when
- 34:14Speaker 1: of country music's great disc jockeys. And they said, okay,
- 34:16Speaker 1: and what is this about. I said, I'm going to
- 34:18Speaker 1: manage Rascal Flats. First they're going to do is change
- 34:20Speaker 1: the name, but that's okay. And they said okay, hold on,
- 34:22Speaker 1: and they brought out the two guys that I've been
- 34:24Speaker 1: talking to and I said, oh, it's Jane of Bell.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Do you remember when you came to my office with
- 34:27Speaker 1: that crap can song? And I said yeah. I said,
- 34:28Speaker 1: well I want to manage you now. They said really,
- 34:30Speaker 1: I said yeah. So they escorted me into their office
- 34:32Speaker 1: and said would you like to have a cigar something
- 34:34Speaker 1: to drink? I said sure, why not? Well, they gave
- 34:36Speaker 1: me a drink and it was laced with date rape
- 34:38Speaker 1: drug take. I also had a knockout pill in it. Well,
- 34:43Speaker 1: when I awoke, my pants were down. You got I
- 34:49Speaker 1: don't want to go any further. Rascal Flats puts it
- 34:54Speaker 1: to Jean jabel I said, okay, you guys had your fun,
- 34:57Speaker 1: all right, let me pull my pants up. Now, let's
- 34:59Speaker 1: sign and manage deal and let's get serious. And I said, sure,
- 35:03Speaker 1: we'll sign the management deal. About five feet beyond that window,
- 35:06Speaker 1: I looked down ten stories up. I said, will you
- 35:09Speaker 1: sign it? They go yeah. I said, I crawled out
- 35:12Speaker 1: on the window ledge. They said, keep going, keep going.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Well I fell ten stories to the cement. I said,
- 35:18Speaker 1: you guys did They said, we didn't have a chance
- 35:20Speaker 1: because you were out. And you know there's a thing
- 35:22Speaker 1: called gravity. You picked. When I said the word prick,
- 35:26Speaker 1: I knew I'd messed up, because here it came the
- 35:28Speaker 1: butt end of a pool queue into my mouth. The
- 35:31Speaker 1: other butt end of a pool queue. Well, when a
- 35:33Speaker 1: husband's at home and he's watching the kids, the girls
- 35:35Speaker 1: go out and they had themselves a big Friday night
- 35:37Speaker 1: drinking him Margaerita is the holiday and guess who the
- 35:39Speaker 1: disc jockey is. You got that me, y'all. When I
- 35:43Speaker 1: say those girls come home went out to close, that
- 35:45Speaker 1: is the truth. And that's when a husband come looking
- 35:47Speaker 1: for me. And that's when I generally what happens in
- 35:50Speaker 1: I get beaten up in a parking lot. After everybody's
- 35:52Speaker 1: gone home, there's maybe three or four people stand around
- 35:54Speaker 1: to watch you, to see what happens with the smart
- 35:56Speaker 1: ass disc jockey as he gets a car door slammed
- 35:58Speaker 1: on his head about six times. Then it's his head
- 36:00Speaker 1: bounced off the hood of the car, and then he
- 36:02Speaker 1: gets run over. Not by one, two or three, he
- 36:04Speaker 1: gets run over by about six or seven cars until
- 36:08Speaker 1: he has to drag himself to a payphone because his
- 36:11Speaker 1: cell phone is broken, and drags himself to a payphone,
- 36:14Speaker 1: fumbles around for coins because his hands are bloody, puts
- 36:16Speaker 1: it up there and says, I need nine to one one,
- 36:18Speaker 1: I need the emergency. I had my ass kicked because
- 36:20Speaker 1: I was coming on to a bunch of guys wives
- 36:22Speaker 1: while they were stripping their clothes off in the bathroom,
- 36:24Speaker 1: drinking tequila, having themselves a good time. He said, just
- 36:26Speaker 1: Ginge of Bell Country, USA. I said, yeah, I said,
- 36:29Speaker 1: you on your own die. Motherfucker died on last two
- 36:33Speaker 1: long jing a bell If the DJ puts bond me,
- 36:42Speaker 1: anybody here is a little big town near Ginger Bell Country,
- 36:45Speaker 1: is that crush hat two in me? And he has
- 36:52Speaker 1: a song about lesbian love girl crush there's a chick
- 36:56Speaker 1: there who's in love with another chick. And I told
- 36:57Speaker 1: him early on, I said, you know, you ain't gonna
- 36:59Speaker 1: make it in this time with kind of lesbian stuff.
- 37:01Speaker 1: And they said, you don't understand the beautiful music that
- 37:04Speaker 1: we make. And I said, yes, I do a couple
- 37:05Speaker 1: of dikes like you. It just ain't gonna happen unless
- 37:09Speaker 1: you got Ganja Bell at the wheel of your career.
- 37:12Speaker 1: And if you'll let me handle the wheel of your career,
- 37:15Speaker 1: believe me, my hands won't go anywhere else but the
- 37:18Speaker 1: wheel of your career, especially looking at you two diesel dykes.
- 37:24Speaker 1: That's when I went into the studio and I had
- 37:26Speaker 1: a very special recording made of that diesel dike in well,
- 37:31Speaker 1: I wasn't long. It wasn't long at all before I
- 37:33Speaker 1: met those chicks one fine night and we were in
- 37:36Speaker 1: a diner. They were out there, just been singing, and
- 37:38Speaker 1: they decided to stop it and get themselves something to eat.
- 37:41Speaker 1: And I saw them and say, hey, look at that
- 37:43Speaker 1: there they are a little big town. You girls are
- 37:45Speaker 1: doing real real good, huh. And they said, yeah, we're
- 37:47Speaker 1: doing real good, but it won't keep us from beating
- 37:49Speaker 1: and robbing you, and I said, what are you talking about?
- 37:52Speaker 1: Your big stars? I said, come on outside, I said, haha, Well,
- 37:55Speaker 1: they beat me up, beat the living hell out of me,
- 37:57Speaker 1: took my wallet, took all my money, all my credit cards,
- 38:00Speaker 1: and just dropped them around town. Next thing you know,
- 38:03Speaker 1: I was having charges wrung up on all of my
- 38:05Speaker 1: credit cards by every hobo and bum that found those cards. Meanwhile,
- 38:09Speaker 1: all of my cash has gone, and they dropped me
- 38:10Speaker 1: off in the middle of you guessed it, the black
- 38:13Speaker 1: part of town. And as I got up and tried
- 38:17Speaker 1: to scramble out of there with no pants because they'd
- 38:19Speaker 1: robbed those two, and I saw some people coming at me,
- 38:22Speaker 1: I went, ah, well, I ran out of there, and
- 38:25Speaker 1: what do you know, I'm running right into the Mexican
- 38:28Speaker 1: part of town. And I started screaming again, and I
- 38:31Speaker 1: ran out of there. And where did I run into?
- 38:33Speaker 1: You got it? The Asian part of town. And then
- 38:35Speaker 1: I ran out of there, and I finally got out
- 38:37Speaker 1: of the white part of town, and I was happy,
- 38:38Speaker 1: except everybody there was Jewish, and that was bad too.
- 38:41Speaker 1: And I went, yeah, well, I'll tell you I never
- 38:44Speaker 1: did really find it into a territory in that city
- 38:46Speaker 1: that I would be comfortable, and that would be lily white,
- 38:49Speaker 1: and I mean so white almost alby no white. I
- 38:53Speaker 1: never could find that section of town, and I wound
- 38:55Speaker 1: up getting my ass kicked by four different ethnic groups
- 38:59Speaker 1: that night because little Big Town couldn't take a joke.
- 39:03Speaker 1: But I said, why don't you diesel dykes do something
- 39:05Speaker 1: with your lives like repair jets gee's instead of singing?
- 39:08Speaker 1: And then they belted me, robbed me, and dropped me
- 39:10Speaker 1: off into that you know, bad part of town. I
- 39:12Speaker 1: say bad. It was the black part of town. I say,
- 39:15Speaker 1: you know black. It was also Asian Jewish and well,
- 39:18Speaker 1: I forget what else Mexican and I went, ah, yeah,
- 39:25Speaker 1: how about that Billy Currington here Jinge Bell Country Usay,
- 39:28Speaker 1: that's called donut huh ah, yeah, Billy Currington. I grabbed
- 39:34Speaker 1: his girlfriend's I think it was the right butt cheek
- 39:38Speaker 1: of his girlfriend in a very It was one of
- 39:40Speaker 1: those spontaneous moves. Okay. It was a party that we
- 39:43Speaker 1: were that we were at that had been thrown by
- 39:45Speaker 1: the record company, and I grabbed that butt cheek and
- 39:48Speaker 1: I said, feels good, don't it. Now understand I'd had
- 39:51Speaker 1: an awful lot to drink, and I had already explained
- 39:54Speaker 1: that to to Billy's management. I had explained that to
- 39:56Speaker 1: his agent, and I'd explained it to the record company.
- 39:58Speaker 1: I'd also explained it to the general advantage of our
- 40:00Speaker 1: radio station, K Country and the Ginge Bell Country USA sponsors.
- 40:04Speaker 1: So everyone knew that I was drunk, that I had
- 40:07Speaker 1: been drinking a particularly strong, strong version of absinthe, that
- 40:11Speaker 1: I had been on pills, and I was weaning myself
- 40:15Speaker 1: off of a variety of pills. So I was not
- 40:17Speaker 1: really in any particular frame of mind, I would say,
- 40:21Speaker 1: to be behaving in a normal way. Everyone knew. Everyone
- 40:25Speaker 1: was unnoticed. So that what I did. Finally see Billy's girlfriend,
- 40:28Speaker 1: and she had on a nice tight pair of leather pants.
- 40:31Speaker 1: I squeezed one butt cheek and I said, feels good,
- 40:34Speaker 1: don't it. She came around with At that time, I
- 40:37Speaker 1: didn't know she was holding on to it. She'd taken
- 40:39Speaker 1: off a real heavy belt that she'd been wearing, made
- 40:41Speaker 1: of a combination of real thick, heavy heavy leather and
- 40:45Speaker 1: some very very thick metal pieces. And she came around
- 40:48Speaker 1: with this metal belt and she cracked that across my nose.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Now the nose had been broken to two times before,
- 40:55Speaker 1: as you know, in my encounter there with I think
- 40:58Speaker 1: it was Blake Shelton. Well, now the nose was busted
- 41:00Speaker 1: in two more places, and now as I looked at
- 41:03Speaker 1: it in the mirror, blood beginning to emerge from my nostrils.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I could see that I had one of those Dave
- 41:08Speaker 1: Tiger Smith noses where you can bite a wall. The
- 41:11Speaker 1: nose completely flattened. I looked like some sort of a
- 41:15Speaker 1: punch drunk pug, a guy with a flat nose and
- 41:18Speaker 1: about two cents worth of brains. And as I turned
- 41:21Speaker 1: to look to her, I said, you know something, I
- 41:24Speaker 1: paid you a compliment, and all you can do is
- 41:26Speaker 1: crack me across the face with a belt. Don't you
- 41:29Speaker 1: understand that now with my nose flatter, I can make
- 41:32Speaker 1: more headway between your thighs. And that's when she took
- 41:35Speaker 1: both of her hands and popped them across my ears.
- 41:39Speaker 1: I'm sure you've seen that in the movies where they
- 41:40Speaker 1: slapped both ears. She slapped both of my ears. I
- 41:43Speaker 1: went deaf immediately. At both ears, I saw blood literally
- 41:48Speaker 1: beginning to squirt from both both ears, and I began
- 41:52Speaker 1: to realize that this girl meant business. So I'm trying
- 41:55Speaker 1: to explain to her. No, you don't get it, she said, Jesus,
- 41:58Speaker 1: she turns she wasn't even talking to me. She went
- 41:59Speaker 1: into the kitchen, and as I came around the corner
- 42:02Speaker 1: to follow her to explain things, one of the ladies
- 42:04Speaker 1: in there screamed because I looked in the mirror and
- 42:06Speaker 1: what I saw I barely recognized as my own face.
- 42:09Speaker 1: A flattened nosed, blood coming out of my nostrils, blood
- 42:11Speaker 1: now pouring out of both ear drums, and it looked
- 42:13Speaker 1: like I had a little bit of a laceration across
- 42:16Speaker 1: the front of my head. And I said, hey, I'm blake,
- 42:18Speaker 1: excuse me, I'm bleak show. My name is Jane Bell.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Blake Shelton. Last week is a guy that did damnage.
- 42:22Speaker 1: He broke my nose twice. See the nose right here
- 42:25Speaker 1: has been broken by none other than Billy Carrington's girlfriend.
- 42:28Speaker 1: And the lady screamed and asked what I wanted. I said,
- 42:31Speaker 1: my name's Jinga Bell country Ussay. She said, no, you aren't.
- 42:34Speaker 1: You look like a freak. You look like something out
- 42:37Speaker 1: of a carnival side show. And I said, I can
- 42:39Speaker 1: prove it to you. And as I moved toward her
- 42:42Speaker 1: to give her a little bit more of the disc
- 42:44Speaker 1: jockey wrap, she pulled out a knife, was a big
- 42:47Speaker 1: steak knife, and she slashed at my mouth, cutting my mouth.
- 42:50Speaker 1: And then when I said, no, wait a minute, you
- 42:52Speaker 1: know you're making a mistique flouting, and so I started
- 42:58Speaker 1: to sound almost like a mad donald, and both women
- 43:01Speaker 1: screamed and retreated. What's more, And that's finally when Billy
- 43:05Speaker 1: came into the room and he looked at me and
- 43:06Speaker 1: he said, what is it? And they said, we think
- 43:09Speaker 1: it's Geene Jabelle. I said, good Jean, I'm trying to
- 43:17Speaker 1: say it was Ginge Bell. So Billy took my head
- 43:19Speaker 1: and he basically threw my head down on his left knee,
- 43:23Speaker 1: lifted my head up and threw it down on my
- 43:25Speaker 1: right on his right knee. Now you can recall i'd
- 43:28Speaker 1: been through this treatment once before, so I know what
- 43:30Speaker 1: had felt like. I know, here comes again. After the
- 43:32Speaker 1: first two cracks, I knew there'd be at least three
- 43:34Speaker 1: or four more, and I counted them. Bam, there went
- 43:36Speaker 1: my face into his knee. Bam, my nose broken yet
- 43:39Speaker 1: again into the other knee. Bam, now I can feel
- 43:42Speaker 1: that the the both eye sockets are crushed. Bam, there
- 43:45Speaker 1: goes my cheekbone. Bam, there goes my jaw. And when
- 43:48Speaker 1: I hit the floor and I hit it face first,
- 43:51Speaker 1: I rolled over on my back and I said bah fuck.
- 43:58Speaker 1: And right out of a page from Sexy Beast, one
- 44:02Speaker 1: of the ladies came in from the bedroom. She had
- 44:04Speaker 1: a bureau drawer, a very very heavy wood drawer with
- 44:08Speaker 1: lots and lots of meaningless stuff inside of it, and
- 44:11Speaker 1: she just dropped it. Didn't throw it down, didn't bring
- 44:14Speaker 1: it down, dropped it onto my face. So it sounded
- 44:17Speaker 1: like this Paul Faith uh wah wah wah wa. Well,
- 44:23Speaker 1: here's that. Bobby Bear came back with Detroit City. This
- 44:26Speaker 1: is the one he said, This is the one that
- 44:28Speaker 1: he said he was gonna be a big hit. And
- 44:29Speaker 1: I said, are you kidding me? Or something about some
- 44:31Speaker 1: slob that goes north and doesn't even have the balls,
- 44:34Speaker 1: doesn't have the guts to make it the North, some
- 44:36Speaker 1: good tough Southern boy he goes listen to I will
- 44:39Speaker 1: get Well. It turns out it was a hit record.
- 44:42Speaker 1: So what I did was I called him up and
- 44:44Speaker 1: I said, hi, Bobby this is Ginger Bell. Let's get
- 44:46Speaker 1: this out of the way. I said that I thought
- 44:48Speaker 1: Detroit City was the biggest piece of dung that I've
- 44:50Speaker 1: ever heard in my life. You know who I am,
- 44:52Speaker 1: He said, not really, I don't recall you. You don't really.
- 44:54Speaker 1: I guess you don't leave much of an impression. I said,
- 44:56Speaker 1: I was the guy that came into your office and
- 44:57Speaker 1: I said, Hi, Bobby, I'm Ginga Bell. I think Detroit
- 45:00Speaker 1: City is something that would drop out of my ass,
- 45:02Speaker 1: not necessarily something i'd hear on the radio. He said, oh, yeah,
- 45:05Speaker 1: now I remember you. And that's when I filled a
- 45:06Speaker 1: boot hit me just below my testicles, not right directly
- 45:10Speaker 1: on them, but just behind my testicles. That hurt, but
- 45:12Speaker 1: didn't hurt near as bad as the next one. That's
- 45:15Speaker 1: when someone lifted me up by my ears, swung me
- 45:18Speaker 1: outside a window that was six stories above the street,
- 45:21Speaker 1: and began dangling me, just sort of swinging me back
- 45:24Speaker 1: and forth by the ears, with me one hand holding
- 45:26Speaker 1: my balls and the other one going au au au awow.
- 45:29Speaker 1: And then I was dropped. I dropped, and I plummeted
- 45:31Speaker 1: six stories all the way to the street. And when
- 45:32Speaker 1: I hit the street, I actually cracked the cement. I
- 45:35Speaker 1: went through one block of cement and I went down
- 45:37Speaker 1: into what I think was some kind of a catwalk
- 45:39Speaker 1: for the sewer. And there's where I lay for about
- 45:42Speaker 1: the next six Well, you know what I mean. Eg
- 45:44Speaker 1: In Detroit City from the letters, everybody's widdy hits and
- 45:53Speaker 1: Genji Ball has got no taste. He's a no count slab,
- 45:55Speaker 1: a slam ball. He is the rudest motherfucker that I've
- 45:58Speaker 1: ever heard in my lap. I wouldn't have that son
- 46:00Speaker 1: of it. I wouldn't have him. I wouldn't have him
- 46:03Speaker 1: clean the urn out after they cremate me, you know,
- 46:06Speaker 1: and put me into a really good urn. I wouldn't.
- 46:08Speaker 1: I wouldn't give him that. I wouldn't give him that responsibility.
- 46:10Speaker 1: He's a low life, no good, scum sucking dog. And
- 46:15Speaker 1: that's why he will be hosting the sixteenth Annuel Little
- 46:18Speaker 1: Willy Hickson Blues and Country Parlor Monkey Show by nobody.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Nobody ever had a monkey put on him or a
- 46:24Speaker 1: chimpanzee put on him like Jeana Bell. Check it out,
- 46:27Speaker 1: Jean Jabell. He's gonna be hosting the show this coming
- 46:30Speaker 1: Saturday night at the Little Willie Hickson Blues and Country Parlor.
- 46:34Speaker 1: That's writ about Gingo Bell right here, man, And I've
- 46:36Speaker 1: had my kisser knocked in so many times, you'd swear
- 46:38Speaker 1: to God you're looking at it. Bidy Jael Young, Jean Gabel,
- 46:49Speaker 1: Country USA Grass here from the Nashville Bluegrass band. This
- 46:54Speaker 1: is a group that I said I would never sign
- 46:56Speaker 1: because they were bluegrass. I said, there ain't nobody in
- 46:59Speaker 1: bluegrass at least. Guy said, well almost, Jabell, you're making
- 47:01Speaker 1: a big mistake. We're a great bluegrass band. And bluegrass
- 47:03Speaker 1: is country. I said, it ain't country. It's not country
- 47:06Speaker 1: the way cool country is. Ay, is that any of that?
- 47:09Speaker 1: You know? Mickey Gilly's kind of country? Man, it's not
- 47:13Speaker 1: that country polotan stuff. Man, Come on, give me a break,
- 47:16Speaker 1: will you get out of here, you hill billy? You. Well,
- 47:19Speaker 1: it turns out they were making a hell of a
- 47:20Speaker 1: lot of money there in Nashville as they were playing
- 47:22Speaker 1: the bluegrass circuit. So I said, tell you what I'm
- 47:23Speaker 1: gonna do for you, guys. I'm gonna do you a
- 47:25Speaker 1: big favor. I'm gonna I'm gonna do you a real
- 47:27Speaker 1: good turn, and I'm going to sign you guys to
- 47:29Speaker 1: a management contract. How does that sound to you? Well,
- 47:31Speaker 1: they said it doesn't sound good at all. We already
- 47:33Speaker 1: have a manager. You're the guy that's so you know,
- 47:35Speaker 1: you're the guy that said we sounded like a dog
- 47:37Speaker 1: shit And I said, I don't think I ever used
- 47:39Speaker 1: the word dogshit. They said, yes, you did. I said,
- 47:41Speaker 1: on second thought, yeah, you're right, I did not. So
- 47:43Speaker 1: I said, why don't you get out of here? Well?
- 47:44Speaker 1: A gettin was good? I said, are you threatening me?
- 47:46Speaker 1: Are you threatening Jean Jabel Country, USA? Yes, I've had
- 47:49Speaker 1: my ass kicked by some of the big country artists,
- 47:50Speaker 1: but I've never had my ass kicked by a bluegrass band.
- 47:54Speaker 1: They said, well, we don't kick asses in bluegrass, as
- 47:57Speaker 1: you well know. Did you ever see Deliverance? And I went, ah, no, Well,
- 48:05Speaker 1: six hours later I walked out of there, not even
- 48:08Speaker 1: a better man, not even a wiser man. I just
- 48:11Speaker 1: walked out of there, or should I say I waddled
- 48:13Speaker 1: out of there? Jean Jaboo about that Canaan Smith and
- 48:18Speaker 1: love you like that? Canaan Smith. Another great star here
- 48:20Speaker 1: the Jingebel Country, USA. Sh I'll tell you what. Canaan
- 48:24Speaker 1: Smith is a star here on the Jean Jebel Country
- 48:27Speaker 1: USA Show and that song love You Like That when
- 48:31Speaker 1: it came out. It was a song very very little known.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Canaan had written the song, and he'd written the song
- 48:36Speaker 1: for a very very special lady in his life at
- 48:39Speaker 1: the time. I met Caanaan Smith and I was there
- 48:41Speaker 1: with Mandy. I saw his girlfriend. She was very fetching,
- 48:44Speaker 1: very lovely, very nice the way I like him, the
- 48:46Speaker 1: way I like him all right, And I said to Caanaan,
- 48:48Speaker 1: do you like her? I think at the time, I
- 48:50Speaker 1: said do you like it? And he said I do.
- 48:52Speaker 1: I love her very much, mister, mister Jabelle. I said, well,
- 48:56Speaker 1: let me just tell you. She's got a great butt,
- 48:58Speaker 1: she's got nice big boobs, she's got that kind of
- 49:01Speaker 1: dumb look on her face. I love something like that.
- 49:04Speaker 1: And let me tell you what if you can't love
- 49:06Speaker 1: her like that. I looked at her and I said,
- 49:08Speaker 1: I'll love you like that. And she said like what?
- 49:10Speaker 1: And I said, well, you know, and I was pointing,
- 49:12Speaker 1: I was casting around. I said, well, you know like that.
- 49:14Speaker 1: I saw two dogs out in the out in an
- 49:16Speaker 1: alley and they were just out the back door. There
- 49:18Speaker 1: they were emptying some trash and there were two dogs
- 49:20Speaker 1: fornicating right there, and the you know, having their sexual
- 49:23Speaker 1: relations as dogs will. And I said, well, how about
- 49:25Speaker 1: like that? And I'll never forget what Caanan said. He said,
- 49:28Speaker 1: you know something, mister Jabell, I may be a small
- 49:31Speaker 1: guy now, but when I get big, I'll never forget
- 49:33Speaker 1: the way you treated me. I said, why don't you
- 49:35Speaker 1: piss off and die and take that hag with you.
- 49:38Speaker 1: I said, if you want her to have any kind
- 49:41Speaker 1: of a life, leave her with me, and I'll break
- 49:42Speaker 1: her in for you. And he walked off with steam
- 49:44Speaker 1: coming out of his head. Well guess what. Love You
- 49:47Speaker 1: Like That became a big hit and we've made it
- 49:49Speaker 1: number one on the Jean Jabelle survey. And I called
- 49:51Speaker 1: him up personally. I said, I want to tell you something, Canaan,
- 49:53Speaker 1: how you been buddy? You know you and I talked
- 49:55Speaker 1: outside that holiday inn or that bar wherever it was.
- 49:58Speaker 1: He says, yes, I do remember that very very much.
- 49:59Speaker 1: A I've made Love You Like That that is now
- 50:03Speaker 1: our number one hit on the Jean Jebel Country USA survey.
- 50:07Speaker 1: And he said that my father had made it with
- 50:11Speaker 1: some kind of an orangutang or something. He said that
- 50:13Speaker 1: then the orangutang turned around and made it with the
- 50:15Speaker 1: kimono dragon, and then they made it anally with some
- 50:19Speaker 1: other animal and I was born and I said, you
- 50:22Speaker 1: are some kind of guy. I said, look, I want
- 50:24Speaker 1: to come over and I want to sign a personal
- 50:25Speaker 1: services contract with you right now. I want to promote
- 50:27Speaker 1: all your shows in America. He said, you come on
- 50:30Speaker 1: right over. You do that, You do that, Ginge Bell,
- 50:32Speaker 1: I said, see what I'm saying, Mandy. She said, Gene,
- 50:34Speaker 1: please watch out. I said, don't worry about it. When
- 50:36Speaker 1: I get back here, there'll be money in the bank.
- 50:38Speaker 1: And I went over there and Canaan said, so you're
- 50:40Speaker 1: the guy that said you were going to break my
- 50:42Speaker 1: girlfriend in said she had a nice butt. You humiliated
- 50:44Speaker 1: her in front of everyone. I said, hey, cana let
- 50:46Speaker 1: me tell you how it's Let me tell you how
- 50:47Speaker 1: it's played. Let me tell you how this business is. Okay.
- 50:50Speaker 1: When you talk to a guy like Jane Jabell, you
- 50:51Speaker 1: better have your shit together. And I use those words,
- 50:54Speaker 1: and I use those words to you right now here
- 50:55Speaker 1: on the Ginge bel Digital Show. And you want to
- 50:57Speaker 1: know why because I told him, I said, your girlfriend
- 50:59Speaker 1: inca to edit out her clearing her throat after she
- 51:02Speaker 1: swallows my load. I said that. And then six eight
- 51:06Speaker 1: months later, when I said to him, I'd like you
- 51:08Speaker 1: to sign his personal services contract, he said, do you
- 51:11Speaker 1: remember what you said about my girlfriend? Do you remember
- 51:13Speaker 1: what you said about my life? Do you remember what
- 51:14Speaker 1: you said about my guitars? Do you remember what you
- 51:16Speaker 1: said about my music? And I said, I knew I
- 51:18Speaker 1: was gonna love your girlfriend like that. You know I
- 51:20Speaker 1: was kidding, you know that I was just having some fun.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I'm Jean Jabell doing Country USA. Why don't we spend
- 51:26Speaker 1: some time together? He said, I don't want you anywhere
- 51:28Speaker 1: near my home. And he picked up a can of Raid,
- 51:31Speaker 1: and he shoved the nozzle into my mouth because I
- 51:33Speaker 1: was saying, hey, why don't you and I? And right
- 51:36Speaker 1: when I said the word I, he shoved the nozzle
- 51:39Speaker 1: of the raid into my mouth and depressed that thing
- 51:41Speaker 1: and filled the back of my throat, tongue, the inside
- 51:44Speaker 1: of my mouth with insecticide, with poisonous insecticide. Then I
- 51:48Speaker 1: began to gag on and I began to choke on,
- 51:50Speaker 1: and then he pulled it back, sprayed both of my
- 51:52Speaker 1: eyeballs flush with raid insecticide. Raid. I think it was
- 51:56Speaker 1: the flying ant and roach killer Raid. I dropped to
- 51:59Speaker 1: my knees, screaming and holding my eyes in my mouth,
- 52:02Speaker 1: screaming for air, screaming because the pain was searing. And
- 52:06Speaker 1: that's what he lit a butane lighter, bent over and
- 52:09Speaker 1: farted in my face. The buttane cut the methane gas
- 52:13Speaker 1: coming from his ass, and it burned all of the eyebrows,
- 52:17Speaker 1: all of the mustache. I had a mustache that I
- 52:19Speaker 1: was very proud of, had a handlebar mustache and a
- 52:22Speaker 1: fort blast. A flaming ass torch took that mustache off
- 52:28Speaker 1: right out of the ass. End of Canaan Smith. Well,
- 52:31Speaker 1: what do you do, ladies and gentlemen, when you are
- 52:33Speaker 1: just just stain't tough enough. I'll tell you what you do.
- 52:36Speaker 1: You name yourself Sue, and then you get yourself into
- 52:38Speaker 1: another ass kicking. This is the jeans of bell Rocket
- 52:41Speaker 1: to the top, a boy named Sue. Wait till you
- 52:44Speaker 1: hear how this song winds up. Oh you think you've
- 52:46Speaker 1: heard this song? You have? Where did you hear it? Case?
- 52:48Speaker 1: He's running here, Johnny Cashken this song, he said, I
- 52:50Speaker 1: got a song called a boy named Sue, And I said,
- 52:52Speaker 1: are you out of your mind, a boy? What does
- 52:54Speaker 1: that mean? He began to explain himself. Don't explain it
- 52:56Speaker 1: to me, I said, I realized that we're getting more
- 52:58Speaker 1: gay tolerant. I realized we're more LGBT he tolerant here, Johnny.
- 53:01Speaker 1: But you're gonna just you're gonna ruin your career in
- 53:03Speaker 1: country music. I'm not doing a song about a cross dresser.
- 53:05Speaker 1: He said, it's not. And by then I'd slammed the
- 53:07Speaker 1: door in his face and I hear him going. I said,
- 53:10Speaker 1: get out of here, Johnny, before I called the cops.
- 53:13Speaker 1: And nine months later, I hear this song. It's a
- 53:15Speaker 1: hit record. He's on all the big shows he's singing,
- 53:17Speaker 1: and I realized, oh, I see it was a guy
- 53:19Speaker 1: who's a head ofosexual name sou Well. I still didn't
- 53:21Speaker 1: get it. When I went over to Johnny's house, I said, hey,
- 53:23Speaker 1: is Sue here? And that's when the lights went out.
- 53:26Speaker 1: When I woke up, June Carter was standing over me.
- 53:28Speaker 1: She had a bucket of water. She said, you better
- 53:29Speaker 1: get lost because Johnny doesn't like you and doesn't want
- 53:31Speaker 1: you around. I said, June, you're still just as gorgeous
- 53:34Speaker 1: as ever you've still got that great ass. That's what
- 53:37Speaker 1: I felt. Something else hit me. I can't really be
- 53:39Speaker 1: sure what it was. It was either a ball, paen hammer,
- 53:42Speaker 1: a man's fist. It could have been a plate of taketos.
- 53:45Speaker 1: I don't know what it was. But the lights went
- 53:47Speaker 1: out again on the street. When I woke up, the
- 53:49Speaker 1: sun was shining. It was very, very hot. There was
- 53:51Speaker 1: cactus around. There was a dusty highway nearby. I'd been
- 53:54Speaker 1: taken to Arizona. Well, I knew that snake was my
- 53:57Speaker 1: own sweet dad. Well, the rest is history. I staggered
- 54:00Speaker 1: himself to his feet. I walked over to I walked
- 54:02Speaker 1: over to a phone booth which just happened to be,
- 54:04Speaker 1: you know, there in the middle of the desert, and
- 54:05Speaker 1: I called Uber and a guy took me over to
- 54:07Speaker 1: a you know, Airbnb, and I spent the night and
- 54:09Speaker 1: as long as I was there, and decided to go
- 54:10Speaker 1: out and find some laughs. But I was in King
- 54:12Speaker 1: of Arizona, and there's nothing nothing to do there the family.
- 54:17Speaker 1: I found something hard. It cost me fifty bucks an hour,
- 54:20Speaker 1: but I found something to do in my surprise. Guess
- 54:23Speaker 1: what come up with the number. Name was Johnny, my
- 54:25Speaker 1: ear Cheange g Bill Country Music USA. He chrished through
- 54:30Speaker 1: the wall and into the street, kigging in the godget
- 54:33Speaker 1: in the mud, and the Blaus gingermet Country Music USA.
- 54:35Speaker 1: Get him My ask Kid, but the Big Stars and

- 54:48Speaker 1: slugs Martin. No, I do it. It's gone the pull
- 54:50Speaker 1: fantastic sluit there looking. I hate Jean Jebel. Oh, I'm smiled.
- 54:54Speaker 1: He said, do something about your breath. Though. Okay, this
- 54:57Speaker 1: world is rough. The man's going to make it. He's
- 54:59Speaker 1: got vita, and I know I wouldn't be there to
- 55:02Speaker 1: help you. Well, I can tell you right now, Patsy
- 55:06Speaker 1: Klin never kicked my ass because she was dead. Before
- 55:09Speaker 1: I ever even thought about it. I was a paper boy.
- 55:11Speaker 1: I think when Patsy Cline's plane hit that mountain, hush yeah.
- 55:16Speaker 1: But I can tell you something. She was a fantastic artist.
- 55:18Speaker 1: When I finally started listening to country music, and Patsy
- 55:21Speaker 1: Clan was so damn good that I decided that you know,
- 55:23Speaker 1: I wanted to do a deal with her management. I
- 55:25Speaker 1: wanted to do a deal with their estate, show them
- 55:27Speaker 1: what I could do in terms of posters, in terms
- 55:29Speaker 1: of books, in terms of you know, bumper stickers. I
- 55:32Speaker 1: wanted to do a Patsy Cline doll and. I also
- 55:34Speaker 1: had a Patsy Clin bubble head doll and. So I
- 55:36Speaker 1: went to the management there and I said, listen, we
- 55:38Speaker 1: all know that Patsy is in pieces. I tried to
- 55:40Speaker 1: break the ice just well. They didn't like the joke.
- 55:43Speaker 1: And a lot of these country music managers, I'm a manager,
- 55:46Speaker 1: I'm a country music manager. I got a sense of humor.
- 55:48Speaker 1: But a lot of the country music managers that I
- 55:49Speaker 1: worked with, they have no sense of humor. So there
- 55:51Speaker 1: they are, the people that managed the Patsy Clin's of State.
- 55:53Speaker 1: I didn't even get their names, just a bunch of people.
- 55:56Speaker 1: I started making jokes about the plane crash, blah blah blah.
- 55:59Speaker 1: They tied me up. Well, I met Patsy's family, members
- 56:03Speaker 1: of her family. They took turns whipping me, whipping me
- 56:06Speaker 1: with a piece of rope that had tied into it
- 56:09Speaker 1: broken glass, and they stabbed me. Then they poured gasoline
- 56:17Speaker 1: on me and lit me on fire. You bill, Well,
- 56:22Speaker 1: I kind of threw myself to the ground and rolled
- 56:24Speaker 1: around on the ground, tied up, and I put the
- 56:26Speaker 1: fire out. I got up, I began scrambling down the stairs.
- 56:29Speaker 1: I scrambled out into the streets, screaming, AH helped me. Ah,
- 56:32Speaker 1: that kind of stuff. Had a big laugh. The cops
- 56:35Speaker 1: stopped and turned a hose on me, and they put
- 56:36Speaker 1: me in an ambulance. And well, here I am today.
- 56:40Speaker 1: Each times me your name of Ammond Miller. He's actually white,
- 56:50Speaker 1: but he used to put on black face and sing
- 56:52Speaker 1: as a black man. And I know that it's politically incorrect,
- 56:55Speaker 1: but this is kind of an interesting little piece of
- 56:57Speaker 1: music from the old days of country music. A white
- 56:59Speaker 1: guy putting on black face and prancing around. And I
- 57:01Speaker 1: thought it would be interesting when I went to the
- 57:03Speaker 1: NAACP convention, because I was there to hand out ginger
- 57:06Speaker 1: bell bumper stickers because I think that black people enjoy
- 57:08Speaker 1: country music. Of course they do, And I decided to
- 57:11Speaker 1: break the ice. So I dressed up in black face
- 57:13Speaker 1: and I started going. I got the honky Tonk blue Hoo.
- 57:16Speaker 1: As soon as I hit the note blue Hoo. Hoo.
- 57:19Speaker 1: A car backed over one of my feet. Someone got
- 57:21Speaker 1: out punched me. I couldn't go anywhere because there was
- 57:24Speaker 1: a tire resting on my foot, and then people began
- 57:26Speaker 1: hitting me with bags of ball, bearings, all kinds of things.
- 57:30Speaker 1: When I came to the parking lot was empty. It
- 57:32Speaker 1: was the middle of the night. There was a moonlit
- 57:33Speaker 1: over the sky and looked at me, either dingoes or
- 57:36Speaker 1: wild giraffe. Something was very hungry and it was breathing
- 57:39Speaker 1: on me. Yeah. I woke up in my testicles had
- 57:44Speaker 1: been shoot off. No bomber. Now in a moment, what
- 57:50Speaker 1: presumption these motherfuckers had in those days. Guy gets into
- 57:53Speaker 1: black face, it starts singing. Just when you thought summer
- 57:56Speaker 1: couldn't get any hotter.
