- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Italian with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode 108, and we're still walking. Lucas: We are. Last time we learned how to invite someone for a walk. Today, let's add some descriptions. Luna: Oh good, because I want to describe what I see on our walk. Lucas: Exactly. So imagine we're on a path in the park. You look around and say: Il sentiero è bello. Luna: Il sentiero è bello. That means 'the path is beautiful'. Lucas: Right. Sentiero is 'path'. È bello means 'is beautiful'. Say it with me: Il sentiero è bello. Luna: Il sentiero è bello. I love that. The path is beautiful. Lucas: Now, maybe we're walking slowly. Camminiamo lentamente. Luna: Camminiamo lentamente. We walk slowly. Lucas: Camminiamo is 'we walk'. Lentamente is 'slowly'. So: Camminiamo lentamente. Luna: Camminiamo lentamente. It sounds so relaxing. Lucas: It does. And when it's quiet and peaceful, you might say: Che pace. Luna: Che pace. 'What peace.' Like 'how peaceful'. Lucas: Yes. Che pace. Try it: Che pace. Luna: Che pace. Ah, I can already feel the calm. Lucas: Now, if someone asks how far the destination is, you ask: Quanto manca? Luna: Quanto manca? That's 'how much is missing?' or 'how far is it?'. Lucas: Exactly. Quanto manca? Let's say it: Quanto manca? Luna: Quanto manca? And the answer might be: Siamo arrivati. Lucas: Siamo arrivati. 'We have arrived.' Siamo is 'we are', arrivati is 'arrived'. Luna: Siamo arrivati. That's a wonderful thing to hear. Lucas: Now let's put them together. Imagine we're walking on a path. I say: Il sentiero è bello. You say: Camminiamo lentamente. Che pace. Luna: Il sentiero è bello. Camminiamo lentamente. Che pace. Lucas: Then I ask: Quanto manca? And you answer: Siamo arrivati. Luna: Quanto manca? Siamo arrivati. Perfect.
