Transcript
- 0:21Speaker 1: Victor Hovlin going to join us promoting the Travelers Championship
- 0:25Speaker 1: coming up this weekend. Looking forward to speaking to him.
- 0:28Speaker 1: He has been all over Norway soccer. He is a
- 0:31Speaker 1: big heavy metal fan and so I'm excited.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Is he into heavy metal?
- 0:35Speaker 3: I used to be. I used to be.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I have a one.
- 0:38Speaker 4: It's a very it's a core memory from a heavy
- 0:43Speaker 4: metal concert that I never actually walked into. Okay, So
- 0:47Speaker 4: it was me and my older sister and she was
- 0:49Speaker 4: two years older than me, and so she was like
- 0:51Speaker 4: my hero or anything she liked.
- 0:52Speaker 3: I liked it.
- 0:52Speaker 4: She was a huge Poison fan, like huge Poison. So
- 0:56Speaker 4: we got tickets. I think I'm in seventh grade, So
- 0:58Speaker 4: what's that eleven twelfth there and I'm probably thirteen years old.
- 1:01Speaker 3: She's fifteen, and I'm.
- 1:04Speaker 4: In charge of holding the tickets, right, So my uncle drops,
- 1:07Speaker 4: which is a big responsibility, it is, yeah, and this
- 1:10Speaker 4: is so if I'm seventh grade, this is like nineteen
- 1:13Speaker 4: ninety maybe yes.
- 1:14Speaker 2: And let me explain to the audience and the tailor.
- 1:16Speaker 1: This was a time where you had physical tickets, right,
- 1:19Speaker 1: so there was pressure with not losing the tickets.
- 1:21Speaker 2: The tickets weren't on your phone.
- 1:23Speaker 4: If you lost them, you lost your ticket, your tickets,
- 1:26Speaker 4: and I didn't know.
- 1:27Speaker 3: So I'm I'm you know, sitting out there.
- 1:29Speaker 4: We get there way before like the crowd gets there.
- 1:32Speaker 4: I think we get dropped off, like two hours before
- 1:34Speaker 4: the concert starts, with a couple of kids.
- 1:35Speaker 3: We don't know what we're doing.
- 1:36Speaker 4: And so I put the tickets. And this is very rare. Okay,
- 1:39Speaker 4: I live in South Florida. As a child, I don't
- 1:42Speaker 4: normally wear a jacket with a pocket in the lining, right, Okay.
- 1:46Speaker 2: It was a member's only jacket, wasn't it.
- 1:47Speaker 3: No, No, it was my uncle's jacket. I want to say.
- 1:50Speaker 4: I feel like and I felt special because it's like
- 1:52Speaker 4: I got a pocket in there. I was like, you
- 1:53Speaker 4: know what, this is where the tickets are going inside
- 1:56Speaker 4: the most secure pocket I could have on my body.
- 1:58Speaker 4: And so me and my sister we just killed time
- 2:00Speaker 4: for ninety minutes, just scadaddled around, didn't do anything, sat
- 2:03Speaker 4: on the stairs, didn't run into crowds or anything.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Okay, yep, STU.
- 2:08Speaker 4: The gates open, we see people running up there, and
- 2:10Speaker 4: we're just like, all right, time to go. I reach
- 2:13Speaker 4: into that stupid pocket. Yes, the tickets are not there. Wow,
- 2:16Speaker 4: the tickets were gone. I was like, what's that? That's
- 2:20Speaker 4: my sister's name, as like, I don't did I give
- 2:23Speaker 4: you the tickets? And you could see she's furious already.
- 2:26Speaker 4: She's like, why did you hold on to the tickets?
- 2:28Speaker 2: Wait? So you started to blame her.
- 2:29Speaker 5: I wanted to.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Ask her in a way that made it not so
- 2:34Speaker 4: obvious that they weren't where I just put them.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Right well, asking her if she has the tickets is
- 2:38Speaker 1: a fairly obvious way of any and you don't have them.
- 2:41Speaker 6: Yes, So are you the person that shouldn't have been
- 2:46Speaker 6: holding the tickets? Because like, I've got three brothers, and
- 2:49Speaker 6: we all know that if you give them to one brother,
- 2:52Speaker 6: they're you're never seeing them again.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I think Isy's larger point is he put them in
- 2:56Speaker 1: what he thought was a very secure pocket, a very
- 2:58Speaker 1: secure place, and then went to that place to get
- 3:01Speaker 1: them and they weren't there.
- 3:02Speaker 4: But beyond that, you're right, Mikey, You're correct, though I
- 3:05Speaker 4: am No, I'm the opposite of that. I am the
- 3:07Speaker 4: person you give the tickets to because I will do
- 3:10Speaker 4: everything in my power to make sure that they're there
- 3:13Speaker 4: at the end. Like I am the reliable one, okay,
- 3:16Speaker 4: And so I'm like, they're not in my pocket.
- 3:21Speaker 3: And then she's like, what do you mean?
- 3:23Speaker 4: And so I took off the jacket because it wasn't mine,
- 3:25Speaker 4: like I said, I think it was my uncle's or something.
- 3:27Speaker 4: And I took off the jacket and I just started,
- 3:29Speaker 4: you know, doing that thing where you like feel all
- 3:30Speaker 4: the way through it to make sure it didn't go
- 3:32Speaker 4: through like in the lining of the jacket or somewhere.
- 3:36Speaker 4: And I'm like, what did I do a cartwheel? And
- 3:39Speaker 4: how did this come? And so we're just like we're
- 3:41Speaker 4: walking around, we're looking on the ground, and she's just
- 3:44Speaker 4: mother f and me like you wouldn't believe, and it's
- 3:47Speaker 4: just like.
- 3:49Speaker 3: And it was.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Honestly, I think poison or Brett Michaels might have been
- 3:53Speaker 4: the greatest thing in her life at the moment, and
- 3:55Speaker 4: she was about to get to see him from a
- 3:57Speaker 4: decent distance and I shouldn't even want to, right, I
- 4:01Speaker 4: was the reason why she didn't get in.
- 4:03Speaker 1: This would be like carrying two tickets to the NBA Finals,
- 4:05Speaker 1: Nicks tickets to the NBA Finals and Taylor is going
- 4:08Speaker 1: with you.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Yeah, one thousand percent, Yes.
- 4:10Speaker 7: The only poison I recognize is Bell BIV devout saw
- 4:14Speaker 7: that poison.
- 4:18Speaker 4: But anyway, long story short, we called my uncle. He
- 4:20Speaker 4: came back to pick us up. He said what happened?
- 4:22Speaker 4: And I said, I don't know. It's your damn jacket
- 4:24Speaker 4: that lost us these tickets, right. I didn't really say that.
- 4:26Speaker 4: In my head, I wanted to say that. And my
- 4:28Speaker 4: sister didn't talk to me for three full weeks.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Oh wow, I'm surprised it was that short.
- 4:32Speaker 3: I mean, Cinderella was opening for poison. She loved Cinderella too,
- 4:37Speaker 3: it was.
- 4:37Speaker 2: It was a very bad day. Again, surprise she ever
- 4:40Speaker 2: talked to you again.
- 4:40Speaker 4: I mean, so to this day, we still talk about
- 4:42Speaker 4: that like one of the worst days in her life.
- 4:44Speaker 4: And I've never let somebody down more in my life,
- 4:47Speaker 4: and I did my sister that day.
- 4:49Speaker 7: Is he That story just reminded me of the World
- 4:51Speaker 7: Cup story. I don't know if you guys saw it.
- 4:53Speaker 7: A A granddaughter bought her grandpa tickets to the World Cup.
- 4:59Speaker 7: He's a huge mech fan. She spent six thousand dollars
- 5:02Speaker 7: on two tickets for them to go to the games.
- 5:04Speaker 7: She was documenting it on TikTok. It was like beautiful
- 5:07Speaker 7: and like heartwarming. They get to the game and apparently
- 5:12Speaker 7: stub Hub just never sent them to the tickets and
- 5:15Speaker 7: they're just he's watching the game in his in his
- 5:19Speaker 7: gear outside on his phone. Wow, and like everybody is
- 5:23Speaker 7: so sad on TikTok watching him watch the game. Everybody
- 5:29Speaker 7: has made the situation right, Like I'm pretty sure they
- 5:31Speaker 7: flew him out to the next game and gave him
- 5:33Speaker 7: like VIP treatment, but the visual of him sitting outside
- 5:37Speaker 7: the stadium.
- 5:38Speaker 4: So they didn't get ripped off. They just never got
- 5:40Speaker 4: charged for the tickets. That that you know, it was
- 5:42Speaker 4: agreed to, right, that's what happened.
- 5:44Speaker 7: Yeah, So stub Hub canceled the order on them and said,
- 5:47Speaker 7: like we just couldn't go through with the order. But
- 5:49Speaker 7: that didn't account for like they still had to get
- 5:52Speaker 7: to the game, still had to do all that traveling
- 5:54Speaker 7: for the game and all the preparation that kind of
- 5:56Speaker 7: led into it.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I mean that's kind of on them, right.
- 5:59Speaker 1: You don't do it unless you have tickets in hand
- 6:00Speaker 1: or tickets on your computer.
- 6:02Speaker 3: I mean you have to jack at pocket, right, you can't.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Start downloading stuff once you get to the stadium.
- 6:07Speaker 5: I mean, in a surprise to no one.
- 6:09Speaker 6: I will defend stub Hub here and say that the
- 6:13Speaker 6: problem is FIFA, as somebody who was literally trying to
- 6:16Speaker 6: sell tickets. FIFA makes it absolutely impossible to get your
- 6:21Speaker 6: hands on the ticket until they just decide you can
- 6:25Speaker 6: have them. Right, there's no like you bought the tickets,
- 6:28Speaker 6: here are your tickets. No, they go, okay, you bought tickets.
- 6:31Speaker 6: We'll let you know where they are in a few weeks.
- 6:33Speaker 6: And then in a few weeks they go, eh, your tickets.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Are in this area.
- 6:37Speaker 6: And then they're like, ah, your tickets are in this row,
- 6:40Speaker 6: and then like two weeks from the event, they're like, okay,
- 6:42Speaker 6: here are your tickets.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Maybe, but this seems like a situation where perhaps when
- 6:46Speaker 1: they said they couldn't go through with the transaction, that
- 6:48Speaker 1: someone offered more money for the tickets and they prefer
- 6:51Speaker 1: going through with that transaction.
- 6:54Speaker 3: That's quite probable.
- 6:55Speaker 4: There's probably no rules when it comes to us, and
- 6:57Speaker 4: you're not gonna get anybody that's going to argue in
- 6:59Speaker 4: defense FIFA.
- 7:00Speaker 3: So that is the argument ender right there, Mike.
- 7:02Speaker 1: You right, well, I mean flying them out right, flying
- 7:05Speaker 1: them out to the next game, VIP treatment, all that
- 7:07Speaker 1: stuff would suggest that something like that happened.
- 7:10Speaker 4: No, it would suggest that something happened that. Yes, you
- 7:14Speaker 4: once it's agreed upon, hey, these are your tickets, the
- 7:16Speaker 4: transaction will happen, and then you get all the flights
- 7:19Speaker 4: and you get there. It's just like, oh, yeah, this
- 7:20Speaker 4: is a sure thing, this is about to happen. And
- 7:22Speaker 4: then when it does it you're just again like my
- 7:24Speaker 4: sister did to me. Mother effing everybody, did you ever.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Figure out where the did you find the tickets?
- 7:29Speaker 3: Isn't ever found the tickets?
- 7:30Speaker 4: The biggest mystery of my life is where those tickets
- 7:33Speaker 4: ended up. Because I'm telling you, dude, we did nothing.
- 7:36Speaker 4: I wasn't doing cartwheels.
- 7:38Speaker 3: I wasn't.
- 7:38Speaker 4: I didn't get any closer to some any close enough
- 7:42Speaker 4: to somebody to get pickpocketed, right, and it's South Florida
- 7:46Speaker 4: pickpocketing you on the inside of your jacket.
- 7:48Speaker 3: You know.
- 7:49Speaker 4: It's just I have no idea what happened, and it's
- 7:51Speaker 4: just it's mind boggling to me.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Do you still search for them on a daily basis?
- 7:55Speaker 5: No?
- 7:56Speaker 4: But I never put physical tickets in the blinding jacket
- 7:59Speaker 4: pocket ever again.
- 8:00Speaker 7: Okay, if you are a pickpocketer, poison tickets have to
- 8:03Speaker 7: be pretty low on the list of things, exactly like
- 8:09Speaker 7: your reach in there.
- 8:09Speaker 2: And a couple of tickets, a poison come out side.
- 8:12Speaker 7: And then I'm like, I think we're gonna just slide
- 8:14Speaker 7: this back in the pocket.
- 8:16Speaker 1: We're just throwing in the garbage. Victor Hoblin next. Very
- 8:32Speaker 1: excited to have Victor Hoblin on with us. He is
- 8:34Speaker 1: here on behalf of the Travelers Championship, where he'll be
- 8:38Speaker 1: teeing it up this Thursday, June twenty fifth at TPC
- 8:41Speaker 1: River Highlands, airing on NBC and Golf Channel and streaming
- 8:44Speaker 1: on ESPN.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Plus and Peacock.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I know this is one of the most popular stops here,
- 8:49Speaker 1: Victor on the PGA Tour, the Travelers Championship.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Why is it so popular, Well.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Personally speaking, this is where I made my professional debut,
- 8:59Speaker 5: so it's it's a really cool and special place for
- 9:02Speaker 5: me to come back to. But I think, uh, it's
- 9:05Speaker 5: just the atmosphere of the event, Especially on the back
- 9:08Speaker 5: nine with how the holes are designed, you really feel
- 9:10Speaker 5: like there's an amphitheater and and people are on top
- 9:13Speaker 5: of you on both sides, and it's super exciting when
- 9:16Speaker 5: you have risk and reward holes. You have an opportunity
- 9:20Speaker 5: to make like a or to look like a fool,
- 9:22Speaker 5: or you you can end up looking like a legend
- 9:26Speaker 5: making they're pulling off some great shots. So I think
- 9:29Speaker 5: it just makes for really good TV. And it's just
- 9:33Speaker 5: one of those courses that's not it's not stupid, it's
- 9:37Speaker 5: it's uh, right there in front of you, and if
- 9:40Speaker 5: you hit good shots, you're gonna shoot low and and uh,
- 9:43Speaker 5: if you're off your game, it's it's gonna punish you.
- 9:45Speaker 5: So I think it's just a great test of golf.
- 9:47Speaker 7: Victor, have you been able to talk to anybody at
- 9:49Speaker 7: the Travelers about your tea time Friday? Because I know
- 9:52Speaker 7: Norway France is the three pm game, and I'm assuming
- 9:55Speaker 7: you want to be locked in for that.
- 9:57Speaker 5: I would like to to watch that game. I thankfully
- 10:00Speaker 5: I do have an early morning tea time, so we
- 10:03Speaker 5: should be we should should be good for that.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Who'd you work that out with anyone? Anyone on
- 10:07Speaker 2: the tour.
- 10:08Speaker 5: I didn't do anything. It just worked just lucky. Blank
- 10:11Speaker 5: blank blank.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Have you had a chance to attend a Norway game yet?
- 10:17Speaker 5: Yeah? So, Chris Wright and the other Norwegian in the field,
- 10:20Speaker 5: we we went to the game on Sunday and UH
- 10:24Speaker 5: and watched Norway beat Senegal. So that was an awesome experience.
- 10:27Speaker 5: I'm not the biggest UH football or soccer fan UH
- 10:31Speaker 5: to be quite honest, but when Norway's playing and we're
- 10:34Speaker 5: this good, it's it's pretty exciting to watch.
- 10:37Speaker 2: You're like the US fans, I mean pretty much. Yeah
- 10:42Speaker 2: the road, did you row the boat? Did you do it?
- 10:44Speaker 5: Afterwards? We didn't know, but we were watching on the
- 10:48Speaker 5: other side of the stadium and it was like maybe
- 10:52Speaker 5: a third of the stadium was all packed in in
- 10:55Speaker 5: Norway jerseys and they did the synchronized rowing. It was
- 10:58Speaker 5: it was pretty cool to watch in person.
- 11:00Speaker 2: It's awesome. Have you got to know any of the
- 11:02Speaker 2: guys on the team at.
- 11:03Speaker 5: All, No, but we have some mutual friends and I
- 11:07Speaker 5: know they're all really big golf fans, and Chris actually
- 11:12Speaker 5: got to spend some time with some of them, I
- 11:15Speaker 5: think the night before in the hotel, and he wants
- 11:18Speaker 5: he's a big Arsenal fan, so he loves football, but
- 11:21Speaker 5: he didn't get to ask any questions. They just wanted
- 11:23Speaker 5: to ask him about golf. So they all seem to
- 11:26Speaker 5: be more a golf team than football.
- 11:27Speaker 7: Team, Victor, you played collegiately at Oklahoma State. If I
- 11:32Speaker 7: told you Oklahoma State wins a national championship in college football,
- 11:37Speaker 7: or Norway makes it to the World Cup final, say
- 11:40Speaker 7: against France, you're not guaranteed to win? Which one are
- 11:43Speaker 7: you taking?
- 11:43Speaker 2: Good question?
- 11:45Speaker 5: I mean, I'm I'm Norwegian first of all, and for
- 11:49Speaker 5: Norway to get into the final would be uh would
- 11:52Speaker 5: be incredible. But I always root for my OSU OSU people.
- 11:58Speaker 1: We had Wyndam clark on yesterday won his second US
- 12:01Speaker 1: Open over the weekend. It was fantastic to see and
- 12:04Speaker 1: we like them a lot. You have been so close
- 12:06Speaker 1: in all of these majors, Victor, and so I'm wondering
- 12:10Speaker 1: how frustrating it is for you to get that closed
- 12:13Speaker 1: and not close the deal, and what keeps you motivated
- 12:15Speaker 1: here moving forward?
- 12:17Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:17Speaker 5: I mean this, this sport is challenging. It goes up
- 12:20Speaker 5: and down, and it's you know, it's frustrating when you
- 12:25Speaker 5: don't quite get over on the finish line. But being
- 12:28Speaker 5: in contention and having a chance to win, that's that's
- 12:30Speaker 5: why I practice so hard. That's why I wake up
- 12:32Speaker 5: every morning and wanting to get better and put myself
- 12:35Speaker 5: in those positions, and you know, I've I've have a
- 12:39Speaker 5: pretty nice record when I've put myself in positions to
- 12:42Speaker 5: close out tournaments. I've won my fresh air tournaments. So
- 12:45Speaker 5: I like, I like being in that position. It's just,
- 12:50Speaker 5: you know, my game hasn't quite been good enough. So
- 12:52Speaker 5: for me, it's just trying to get back to where
- 12:56Speaker 5: things were not too long ago. And I feel like
- 12:58Speaker 5: I'm really close to to being in a good place.
- 13:01Speaker 5: And as soon as that starts seeing the shots that
- 13:04Speaker 5: I want to see, I'm confident I'll be in those
- 13:07Speaker 5: positions again, then hopefully I can close them out. I'm
- 13:10Speaker 5: it's not trying not to be two results orientated. It's
- 13:14Speaker 5: just trying to control the things that I can control
- 13:17Speaker 5: and hopefully it goes my way at some point.
- 13:19Speaker 2: It's kind of like you the law of averages.
- 13:21Speaker 1: You know, if you put yourself in that spot as
- 13:24Speaker 1: many times as possible, eventually it's gonna you're gonna come through.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 13:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I'd like to think so, but then it's also
- 13:30Speaker 5: you know, I'd like to not be averaged as well.
- 13:33Speaker 5: When I'm in that position, you know, you want to
- 13:35Speaker 5: close them out more than then you don't, And I
- 13:38Speaker 5: think that's. Uh, when you watch Tiger all the tournaments
- 13:41Speaker 5: that he won, it seemed like every time he was
- 13:43Speaker 5: in the hunt, he closed it out, and and uh, yeah,
- 13:46Speaker 5: there's that's that's pretty cool.
- 13:49Speaker 1: What do you make of the new rules here with
- 13:51Speaker 1: the PGA Tour essentially two tours here Champion Store and
- 13:53Speaker 1: a tour to get to the Champion Store.
- 13:55Speaker 2: I think it's awesome. What do you think?
- 13:57Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I I hope the fans like it
- 13:59Speaker 5: because I think, you know, we we want to be
- 14:03Speaker 5: entertaining for guys or people to watch. So I think
- 14:07Speaker 5: if if the majority of opinion like that those changes,
- 14:11Speaker 5: I think that's a good thing. You know, from my standpoint, it's, uh,
- 14:16Speaker 5: things have been changing all the time, so it's kind
- 14:19Speaker 5: of hard to keep track of sure, and it does
- 14:21Speaker 5: kind of seem like it's very similar to how things
- 14:25Speaker 5: have always been in a way. But I do think
- 14:29Speaker 5: it's a nice move changing or widening the fields cut events.
- 14:36Speaker 5: I think it's just it's a better product instead of
- 14:40Speaker 5: having these. Although it's nice for the players certain weeks
- 14:43Speaker 5: to have limited feels and no cut events, I think
- 14:46Speaker 5: it's a better product to have more players and a
- 14:48Speaker 5: cut Victor.
- 14:50Speaker 7: I caught some flat during the Ryder Cup because I'm
- 14:53Speaker 7: watching the team you're a bus celebrations and I'm thinking,
- 14:56Speaker 7: I'm like, I think I'm rooting for these guys.
- 14:59Speaker 5: Do you think that's fair?
- 15:00Speaker 7: Do I have your blessing to root for team?
- 15:02Speaker 5: You're up during the root for whoever you want. You're
- 15:05Speaker 5: not the You're not the only one that said that
- 15:07Speaker 5: to me, but uh oh, I think that's really cool. Uh.
- 15:10Speaker 5: You know, we have really cool personalities on our team,
- 15:14Speaker 5: and I think we did a good job winning a
- 15:16Speaker 5: few American fans over so uh yeah, come over to
- 15:19Speaker 5: the dark side anytime you want.
- 15:21Speaker 1: All right, do I have permission the roof for Norway
- 15:23Speaker 1: to win the World Cup? I mean, please, we need
- 15:25Speaker 1: all the help we could get. Where did your love
- 15:29Speaker 1: I was delighted to learn this about you. Where did
- 15:32Speaker 1: your love for for heavy metal music start?
- 15:35Speaker 2: Where did that beget? Yeah?
- 15:37Speaker 5: Good question. I've always been into when I was growing up.
- 15:41Speaker 5: I always liked linking part that was kind of my
- 15:44Speaker 5: gateway band, some of the harder stuff. But uh, my
- 15:47Speaker 5: old childhood coach he was a Swedish guy and was
- 15:53Speaker 5: a golf coach in Norway and started the year. The
- 15:55Speaker 5: weather's not very good in Norway, so we would drive
- 15:58Speaker 5: over to Sweden and practice for a weekend. And whatever
- 16:02Speaker 5: he played it was all Romstein, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Metallica,
- 16:07Speaker 5: a lot of the classics, and I'd never really listened
- 16:11Speaker 5: to it before, and I thought, man, this is actually
- 16:13Speaker 5: pretty good. So then after that weekend, I got back home,
- 16:17Speaker 5: went on YouTube and then just search best metal songs
- 16:21Speaker 5: and this system of a down chop su he popped up.
- 16:24Speaker 5: And I listened to that a couple of times, and
- 16:27Speaker 5: the screaming was a little bit too much. I just
- 16:29Speaker 5: didn't quite get it. And then I came back and
- 16:32Speaker 5: listened to it a few more times and it was
- 16:34Speaker 5: like the flip just switched. I get it now, and
- 16:38Speaker 5: now there's no going back.
- 16:39Speaker 1: All right, So what's the song that's before a big
- 16:41Speaker 1: round of golf? Right you're trying to get yourself fired up?
- 16:44Speaker 1: What's the song that you're playing in your headsets.
- 16:48Speaker 5: I don't really listen to a whole lot of music
- 16:50Speaker 5: before I go and play, and it will kind of
- 16:53Speaker 5: just be dependent on how I'm feeling, you know. I'll
- 16:56Speaker 5: have favorite songs that kind of change around all the time.
- 17:00Speaker 5: I'm like, I always find new stuff and it'll last
- 17:03Speaker 5: in there for maybe a month and then it's something new.
- 17:05Speaker 5: But uh, there's a there's a band that I really
- 17:11Speaker 5: listened to a lot last year. It's called Rivers of Nile,
- 17:14Speaker 5: and basically any song on that album I thought was
- 17:16Speaker 5: really cool. So that that really gets you going.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Wow, do you have a mount rushmore of heavy metal bands?
- 17:21Speaker 2: Do you have? Yeah?
- 17:23Speaker 5: It could be a little blasphemous to say. I mean, it's.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Like I boxed you in. I'm sorry.
- 17:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean there's a lot of like the bigger,
- 17:35Speaker 5: more mainstream bands. They're great, but I have listened to
- 17:39Speaker 5: some of those bands so much that I'm getting into
- 17:42Speaker 5: more like obscure stuff that I find pretty cool. So
- 17:45Speaker 5: it's it's it would be unfair to put a mount
- 17:48Speaker 5: Rushmer on there.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Guy, Mikey, I.
- 17:51Speaker 6: Just love that you asked the Norwegian to do a
- 17:53Speaker 6: mount rushmore.
- 17:58Speaker 1: How do you feel about music like tricked out golf courts?
- 18:03Speaker 1: This is casual, casual golf, right, you're out on the
- 18:06Speaker 1: you're out in the course. You see guys in a
- 18:08Speaker 1: tricked out golf court and they're blasted music out of
- 18:10Speaker 1: that golf court.
- 18:11Speaker 2: How do you feel about that?
- 18:13Speaker 5: What like playing music while you're playing golfer?
- 18:15Speaker 2: Yes, on a tricked out golf court. Yeah, you're good.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean if you're not, Yeah, I wouldn't want
- 18:20Speaker 5: that if I'm playing a tournament necessarily, but you're playing
- 18:23Speaker 5: for fun and you're shooting a million, you might as
- 18:26Speaker 5: well put some good tunes on there.
- 18:29Speaker 1: What's the last concert. Have you been to a heavy
- 18:31Speaker 1: metal concert? I'm assuming no, I haven't.
- 18:33Speaker 5: I'm not a big concert guy. Why just just my
- 18:36Speaker 5: headphones and just uh yeah, just take it in.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Victor.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Do you realize you're on the PGA Tour, You're one
- 18:43Speaker 1: of the best golfers in the world. The access you
- 18:45Speaker 1: can get to an Iron Maiden show, I mean, geez,
- 18:47Speaker 1: what's the matter with you?
- 18:49Speaker 5: Yeah? I don't know. I just I like to listen
- 18:51Speaker 5: from my room.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Oh gosh, it's so great. What's the greatest heavy metal
- 18:58Speaker 1: song of all time? According I'm not trying to put
- 19:00Speaker 1: you in a corner. I'm just wondering your favorite heavy
- 19:02Speaker 1: metal song all time?
- 19:03Speaker 5: One that's been like, really, I don't know influential is
- 19:07Speaker 5: the right word. But there's a couple songs that like
- 19:10Speaker 5: really stuck with me. Devin townshend Is it's called Deadhead.
- 19:18Speaker 5: That's an amazing song. It kind of goes on for
- 19:21Speaker 5: a while, but that's that's a great song. And then
- 19:24Speaker 5: I really listen to a lot of Trivium and there's
- 19:28Speaker 5: some Showgun it's like twelve minutes long or something. It's
- 19:32Speaker 5: it's awesome. So those two songs that have probably stuck
- 19:34Speaker 5: with me the most over the years.
- 19:36Speaker 7: All Right, Victor, I'm trying to get heavy into golf
- 19:38Speaker 7: right now. I've been doing a lesson early in the
- 19:40Speaker 7: week and then around on the weekend. What's the worst
- 19:43Speaker 7: golf advice you hear people giving to people?
- 19:47Speaker 2: Keep your head dead?
- 19:49Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, it's a lot of the generalized stuff,
- 19:51Speaker 5: but they're not really gonna hurt you too much. They
- 19:55Speaker 5: might just they're not really gonna make you better, but
- 19:58Speaker 5: at least they're not gonna hurt you. It's it's a
- 20:00Speaker 5: lot of times when you get advice that you know,
- 20:05Speaker 5: can get very technical and not necessarily accurate, so they
- 20:11Speaker 5: could actually hurt you, and a lot of I would say,
- 20:14Speaker 5: it's very easy to see when you're swinging and you
- 20:18Speaker 5: have some idiosynchrony syncrosies that you just like it looks weird,
- 20:24Speaker 5: and then you try to fix what looks weird. But
- 20:26Speaker 5: maybe that's the thing that might actually help you, or that's.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Actually the reason why its.
- 20:32Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, we all swing differently, so I think just
- 20:35Speaker 5: not having an understanding of your swing is maybe the
- 20:39Speaker 5: biggest mistake.
- 20:40Speaker 7: And I don't know if you're you're tapped into golf
- 20:42Speaker 7: social media. One of the problems I'm having right now
- 20:45Speaker 7: with golf social media. You post your swing, everybody's got
- 20:49Speaker 7: to comment on your swing, trying to fix your swing.
- 20:50Speaker 7: And I was like, I wasn't even asking for any tips,
- 20:53Speaker 7: but everybody's coming out of the woodworks right now giving
- 20:55Speaker 7: me tips.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Yep, now just getting roasted for no reason. Yeah, everyone
- 21:00Speaker 5: else got an opinion.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Yes, Bubba Watson told those ones like, hey, it'd be
- 21:05Speaker 1: ridiculous for me to give you tips on how to
- 21:07Speaker 1: swing a golf club. To your point, Victor, he said
- 21:09Speaker 1: to me that everyone's got, you know, different hand sized,
- 21:13Speaker 1: different finger.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Sized, different body types.
- 21:15Speaker 1: You gotta hold the club the way it feels comfortable
- 21:18Speaker 1: to you, not the way it feels comfortable to me,
- 21:20Speaker 1: or Victor Hoblet, Is that good advice.
- 21:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I think so. There's a lot of truth in that.
- 21:24Speaker 5: I mean, there's certain rules and there are certain physical
- 21:28Speaker 5: laws that's going to help you play better. So there
- 21:31Speaker 5: are certain maxims that you should try to follow. However,
- 21:36Speaker 5: when you try to chase a certain look, it almost
- 21:40Speaker 5: always fails. That's usually not a good recipe. But you
- 21:45Speaker 5: try to mimic certain certain you know, proper biomechanic goal moves,
- 21:53Speaker 5: and you're gonna be good off.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Has anyone tried to ever give Victor Hoblick a casual golfer,
- 21:58Speaker 1: have they ever tried to offer you a sort of
- 22:00Speaker 1: swing advice? Uh, you know, like get the hell out
- 22:04Speaker 1: of here.
- 22:05Speaker 5: I'm sure it's happened in a proram or something. You
- 22:07Speaker 5: know that that just that one guy in the program
- 22:09Speaker 5: that's that's gonna tell you how it's done. You know,
- 22:12Speaker 5: that's we've all been there.
- 22:14Speaker 2: We're all wincing.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Now.
- 22:14Speaker 2: I'm that guy. I'm that guy.
- 22:18Speaker 1: How would you feel they invited Mikey A right before
- 22:21Speaker 1: you started, We'll get you out of here in a second, Uh,
- 22:23Speaker 1: to come to the Travelers Championship. How do you feel
- 22:25Speaker 1: maybe not this year, but maybe next year. Mikey A
- 22:29Speaker 1: on the bag for a rap.
- 22:30Speaker 2: What do you think huh interesting?
- 22:33Speaker 5: Uh would be you know, and show up. You'll be fine.
- 22:39Speaker 2: All right, we'll see if we can. Uh, we can
- 22:41Speaker 2: get it done.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Tell us one more time here on the way out, Victor,
- 22:43Speaker 1: and we appreciate the time.
- 22:45Speaker 5: Uh.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Why you enjoy the Travelers Championship so much? And what
- 22:47Speaker 1: keeps you coming back every year?
- 22:49Speaker 5: Yeah? Just h the atmosphere's here's great. It's uh, it's
- 22:53Speaker 5: been a tournament that's been on TV for a long time.
- 22:56Speaker 5: I think people that have seen the tournament multiple times,
- 22:59Speaker 5: they're familiar with the holes, they recognize certain legendary shots,
- 23:04Speaker 5: and it's really cool. Cool to come back and try
- 23:06Speaker 5: to recreate some some own legendary moments. And hopefully we
- 23:10Speaker 5: h we stand on the top of the leaderboard on Sunday.
- 23:14Speaker 5: So yeah, I hope to see some of you guys there.
- 23:16Speaker 1: All right, good luck this weekend. Hopefully mikeye you can
- 23:18Speaker 1: make it out there. Good luck this weekend, and good
- 23:20Speaker 1: luck to Norway. I'm glad you got your Friday tea
- 23:23Speaker 1: times sort it out so.
- 23:26Speaker 2: He's violent, so you can check out the game. Man.
- 23:29Speaker 2: We're either going to do this.
- 23:30Speaker 1: I either want Mikey a in the bag next year
- 23:33Speaker 1: or the four of us, we're going to take you
- 23:34Speaker 1: to your first heavy metal concert. Okay, oh wow, I'm
- 23:37Speaker 1: me met Yeah, Metallica at the Mohegan. You're good, love it.
- 23:42Speaker 1: That's the deal, all right, buddy. Good luck this weekend,
- 23:46Speaker 1: and good luck to Norway in the World Cup. Thank
- 23:48Speaker 1: you boys and joying so we appreciate the time.
- 23:50Speaker 5: Thank you.
