- 1:36Speaker 1: My guest today is considered one of the OGs in
- 1:38Speaker 1: reality TV. June Shannon has been in Toddlers and Tiaras,
- 1:42Speaker 1: Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Mama June from Not to Hot,
- 1:45Speaker 1: The Masked Singer, Marriage Boot Camp. These are all just
- 1:48Speaker 1: to name a few. Her newest show, Mama June Family Crisis,
- 1:51Speaker 1: premieres Friday, May 5th. Welcome to the show, Mama June.
- 1:55Speaker 1: How are you?
- 1:57Speaker 2: I'm doing pretty good. Been kind of busy here lately.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:01Speaker 1: So how are you feeling about the show premiering?
- 2:04Speaker 2: I'm kind of excited because like, honestly, it's just been
- 2:09Speaker 2: a long, like we've been sharing our life with the
- 2:11Speaker 2: world for like 13 years. And it's literally been.
- 2:16Speaker 3: an amazing experience.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Has like fell into our lap and we've honestly had
- 2:21Speaker 2: an amazing journey.
- 2:23Speaker 3: And it's to be able to share another piece of
- 2:24Speaker 3: our life with the world.
- 2:27Speaker 2: And give people like the real life that happens in
- 2:30Speaker 2: America that they won't put on TV, but we will.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And when people tell us like, Hey, I didn't have
- 2:36Speaker 2: to go through this by myself. I didn't have to
- 2:38Speaker 2: thank you for, you know, kind of holding my hand
- 2:41Speaker 2: through that.
- 2:42Speaker 3: And that's really what, really while we continue.
- 2:45Speaker 2: To do that, do what we do is, you know,
- 2:47Speaker 2: giving them our real life experiences for people.
- 2:51Speaker 3: And when people say, Hey, is your life scripted?
- 2:53Speaker 2: You don't know, tell us like, Oh my God, if
- 2:55Speaker 2: our life was scripted, I would definitely write a different
- 2:58Speaker 2: script for my life.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Definitely. Oh, wow.
- 3:03Speaker 1: So June, tell me how you got into TV. Back
- 3:06Speaker 1: me up for a second into your personal childhood.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Um, honestly, um, And the real truth, how we got
- 3:14Speaker 2: into reality TV is we got a call, we was
- 3:17Speaker 2: doing a pageant and Alana had did her first splits
- 3:19Speaker 2: pageant and the director, somebody had backed out of doing
- 3:23Speaker 2: Tolles and Tears. The director called us and said, hey,
- 3:24Speaker 2: they want somebody new on pageantry to do Tolles and Tears. Honestly,
- 3:28Speaker 2: America fell in love with Alana and that's literally, everything
- 3:32Speaker 2: that we've had has literally fell out in our lap.
- 3:34Speaker 2: We have had no coaching classes. We have not went
- 3:37Speaker 2: out and tried to find fame, nothing. Everything that has
- 3:41Speaker 2: happened to us has came to our doorstep, nothing.
- 3:44Speaker 1: But how did they even find you? Were you guys
- 3:46Speaker 1: in acting classes or you guys were already signed up
- 3:49Speaker 1: for a pageant?
- 3:50Speaker 2: No, we literally was signed up for the pageant. Somebody
- 3:53Speaker 2: backed out of doing Childhood and Tears. The director called us,
- 3:56Speaker 2: asked us.
- 3:56Speaker 3: If we do it.
- 3:58Speaker 2: October 12th of 2011, A camera crew knocked on our door.
- 4:03Speaker 2: We had no idea what the hell we was getting
- 4:05Speaker 2: ourselves into. Alana was very shy that day. We was
- 4:08Speaker 2: all like, what the hell? With three days of filming.
- 4:12Speaker 2: And we were like, what the hell?
- 4:14Speaker 3: It premiered.
- 4:14Speaker 2: It was the highest rated show in Tolleson Terrace history.
- 4:19Speaker 2: They came back to us. Authentic Entertainment came back to
- 4:23Speaker 2: us and said, hey, we want you to do another pageant.
- 4:25Speaker 2: When's y'all's next pageant? We had no idea what our
- 4:27Speaker 2: next pageant was. We did one again with them.
- 4:30Speaker 3: They loved us. We did a third pageant with Childers
- 4:33Speaker 3: and Tiaras.
- 4:34Speaker 2: And before we did our third pageant, TLC came to
- 4:36Speaker 2: us and said, oh, my God, there's something about y'all's family.
- 4:38Speaker 3: We don't know where it is, but we want to
- 4:40Speaker 3: do a reality show.
- 4:41Speaker 2: And when I tell you our heads spun and we
- 4:43Speaker 2: knew nothing about TV, we knew nothing about filming. We
- 4:46Speaker 2: knew nothing about cameras. We knew nothing about how our
- 4:49Speaker 2: life was fixing to turn upside down.
- 4:52Speaker 3: We knew, we knew.
- 4:54Speaker 1: So you were just yourself on camera and people saw us.
- 4:58Speaker 2: We have no script, no nothing. What happens, happens. We
- 5:02Speaker 2: have real life issues. My weight loss, I fell out
- 5:06Speaker 2: of control with my weight loss. I fell out of
- 5:09Speaker 2: control on national TV with drug addiction. I went to rehab,
- 5:14Speaker 2: working on my relationship with my children. Now this season,
- 5:17Speaker 2: y'all will see what goes on, you know, with my marriage,
- 5:21Speaker 2: with like me getting back on track with my children
- 5:24Speaker 2: and all of that. Like, so everything that has gone
- 5:28Speaker 2: on in our life, y'all will see that. So I
- 5:31Speaker 2: have become an open book and decided those doors that
- 5:35Speaker 2: are closed, we.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Have opened them.
- 5:38Speaker 2: And trust me, sometimes, I tell people that people's like, oh,
- 5:42Speaker 2: my God, I want to be on reality TV. But
- 5:44Speaker 2: guys know what you're getting into before you get on
- 5:46Speaker 2: reality TV, because there is no more privacy.
- 5:49Speaker 3: There is no more privacy. Right.
- 5:52Speaker 1: And also it's it leaves you open to such judgment
- 5:55Speaker 1: and haters and people really looking into your life without
- 5:58Speaker 1: any sort of empathy because they don't walk in your shoes.
- 6:02Speaker 1: So how's that been?
- 6:04Speaker 2: I mean, sometimes it's got its pros and it's got
- 6:07Speaker 2: its cons, you know, especially when I went through my
- 6:10Speaker 2: drug addiction and there was, you know, when I was
- 6:13Speaker 2: honest and open about the million dollars I spent on
- 6:16Speaker 2: my drug addiction, you know, because my drug addiction, my
- 6:20Speaker 2: drug of choice was a very, you know, you know,
- 6:23Speaker 2: my drug choice was cocaine.
- 6:25Speaker 3: And so, you know, it's a very expensive drug.
- 6:28Speaker 2: And so I'm now three and a half years clean
- 6:30Speaker 2: without anything.
- 6:31Speaker 3: I don't even smoke cigarettes. I don't drink. I don't
- 6:33Speaker 3: do anything.
- 6:34Speaker 2: So, you know, I tell people like I was honest
- 6:37Speaker 2: about that. And so, and I went to rehab, I
- 6:40Speaker 2: lost all of my money. I went to rehab with
- 6:41Speaker 2: a dollar 25 to my name. And so, you know,
- 6:46Speaker 2: I've been there.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I've done that.
- 6:47Speaker 2: I've been on my highest highs. I've been on my
- 6:49Speaker 2: lowest lows and went back up again. But I tell
- 6:52Speaker 2: people like money can change you and money is the
- 6:55Speaker 2: root of all evil. And when you get in this industry,
- 6:58Speaker 2: it can swallow you up and you can get on
- 7:01Speaker 2: the dark side of this industry and very, very, very,
- 7:04Speaker 2: very fastly. And it can swap, that dark side of
- 7:07Speaker 2: this industry can swell you up. And, you know, I
- 7:10Speaker 2: hate to say it. I mean, I do, I did
- 7:13Speaker 2: it on my own, but it was very easily because
- 7:16Speaker 2: this industry is very demanding. And you always want to
- 7:20Speaker 2: do something and you find, you try to find something
- 7:22Speaker 2: to be more, more.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Up with the newest things and be more, more uppity up.
- 7:27Speaker 2: And, you know, people like you said, you know, fans
- 7:31Speaker 2: want to, you know, people want, you to be this
- 7:33Speaker 2: certain persona. And when they want you to be this
- 7:35Speaker 2: certain persona, then you feel like you have to be
- 7:38Speaker 2: that persona.
- 7:39Speaker 3: And you want to be in more demand and this
- 7:42Speaker 3: and that.
- 7:42Speaker 2: And so I found something to be more in demand
- 7:45Speaker 2: and it really took a lot of part of my life.
- 7:48Speaker 2: It took me away from my children. It took me
- 7:50Speaker 2: away from my own personal self. And I'm glad that
- 7:54Speaker 2: I was able to snatch myself out of that dark spot.
- 7:57Speaker 3: And three and a half years later, I don't even
- 7:59Speaker 3: know who that person is.
- 8:00Speaker 1: So where are you on your sobriety right now?
- 8:04Speaker 3: Three and a half years clean.
- 8:05Speaker 2: I've been clean since January 27th of 2020. I haven't,
- 8:11Speaker 2: I don't drink, I don't smoke. I don't associate with
- 8:13Speaker 2: people like that. And I get other people into treatment.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I talk to people now. I just, I mentor a
- 8:22Speaker 2: lot of people. I don't, I am not a coach
- 8:24Speaker 2: for anyone because I don't want to have to not
- 8:26Speaker 2: answer that phone call at three o'clock in the morning
- 8:29Speaker 2: and something happened to them.
- 8:32Speaker 3: But I just tell.
- 8:33Speaker 2: People this, tell you, encourage people to get the help
- 8:36Speaker 2: that they need and they deserve and just talk to
- 8:39Speaker 2: families that are going through that same situation. Along with
- 8:42Speaker 2: my daughters, they, they talked to people that, because they
- 8:46Speaker 2: went through it, you know? And so, so it's really
- 8:49Speaker 2: kind of like a family thing, an ordeal. And so
- 8:52Speaker 2: we've done all that on TV.
- 8:54Speaker 1: So how hard is that though, to stay sober? Because
- 8:57Speaker 1: especially with all the comments from people and all the
- 8:59Speaker 1: stress you're getting at, I know it's one day at
- 9:01Speaker 1: a time, right? But like, how often do you want
- 9:04Speaker 1: to quit and just say, Oh God, I just need
- 9:06Speaker 1: a break. You know, how do you stay on that path?
- 9:09Speaker 3: And this, this sounds so crazy because a lot of
- 9:11Speaker 3: people in their sobriety say that the stresses make them
- 9:15Speaker 3: want to use. Right. But for me, me being so
- 9:20Speaker 3: like right.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Now, you know, my daughter, Anna, my oldest is battling
- 9:24Speaker 2: stage four cancer and we're in between Georgia and Alabama,
- 9:28Speaker 2: me and my husband. And it's a lot of things
- 9:31Speaker 2: are going on with filming and just, I have a
- 9:33Speaker 2: very demanding life right now. And, you know, as a
- 9:36Speaker 2: mother of somebody that just got told two months ago
- 9:38Speaker 2: that my daughter, we don't know what's going to happen.
- 9:41Speaker 2: And we're doing cremo treatments and all that. And, you know,
- 9:43Speaker 2: as a family, you know, it's been a shock. My daughter's,
- 9:46Speaker 2: you know, Lana Honeyboo is graduating high school and all this.
- 9:49Speaker 2: And so there's a lot of demands. But for me,
- 9:52Speaker 2: that stress is a challenge.
- 9:56Speaker 4: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 9:59Speaker 4: know about the drawer. the drawer just the one square
- 10:04Speaker 4: before bed or two you know nobody's watching you deserve
- 10:11Speaker 4: a treat with eight flavors to choose from you can
- 10:17Speaker 4: choose the flavor you favor.
- 10:26Speaker 2: For me, so for me, I don't even think that
- 10:30Speaker 2: that makes me, my life being chaotic and hectic now, nowadays,
- 10:36Speaker 2: makes me not even think about wanting to use. In
- 10:39Speaker 2: the past, it would make me want to use, but
- 10:43Speaker 2: the tools that I was able to When I went.
- 10:45Speaker 3: To rehab, the tools that I was able to use
- 10:48Speaker 3: and get there that I didn't have before, being.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Able to those coping skills with all the stress that
- 10:54Speaker 2: I have going on with my life now, I don't
- 10:55Speaker 2: even think about that lifestyle because I know what I
- 10:58Speaker 2: could lose.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Right. And it also sounds like you're so aware of
- 11:02Speaker 1: like when you're busy and you have a purpose and
- 11:04Speaker 1: you have something to do that takes you out of it.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Yes.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Yes.
- 11:09Speaker 2: And like before it, it wouldn't like three and a
- 11:11Speaker 2: half years ago, it wouldn't. But now it's like, okay,
- 11:14Speaker 2: I know what I've got to do. And I don't
- 11:15Speaker 2: even think about that. Like, I'm like, that's the last,
- 11:18Speaker 2: that's the, not even a thought in my mind anymore.
- 11:22Speaker 1: So I have a question. I want to go back
- 11:23Speaker 1: to you for a second and your childhood. Where did
- 11:26Speaker 1: you grow up? Were your parents married? Were you an
- 11:28Speaker 1: only child?
- 11:30Speaker 2: I grew up in Hampton, Georgia, Griffin, Georgia. I grew
- 11:33Speaker 2: up in like a small town. My parents were divorced.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I also, through me healing my own, like I got
- 11:43Speaker 2: to know I was 42. And through that, I learned
- 11:46Speaker 2: that a lot of the trauma also happened back in
- 11:48Speaker 2: my childhood with my mom, because she worked a lot.
- 11:51Speaker 2: You know, my mom was a very controlling person. My
- 11:54Speaker 2: mom was A drunk, my stepdad was amazing. He raised
- 11:57Speaker 2: me to the age of two. My real father wasn't
- 12:00Speaker 2: in my life. I tried to mend those relationships after
- 12:02Speaker 2: my children, but unfortunately they didn't mend.
- 12:06Speaker 3: But that is what it is. It ain't what it ain't.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I don't blame him. I don't blame anyone, but it
- 12:11Speaker 3: is what it is. It ain't what it ain't.
- 12:14Speaker 2: But I haven't spoke to my mother in nine years,
- 12:17Speaker 2: but I realized that after taking my life back three
- 12:21Speaker 2: years ago and learning who I was, that those traumas
- 12:26Speaker 2: that have happened all of my life, going through domestic
- 12:28Speaker 2: violence situations with boyfriends.
- 12:30Speaker 3: And all that, it started way back with my mother.
- 12:33Speaker 2: And so that's where I learned a lot of the
- 12:36Speaker 2: trauma started back from is because my mom used to use.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Items for love. And I realized that I was doing
- 12:43Speaker 3: that same thing with.
- 12:43Speaker 2: My children because I became a young mom at the
- 12:46Speaker 2: age of 15.
- 12:48Speaker 1: I was just going to ask you about that. And
- 12:49Speaker 1: you brought up Anna, that was your first child, right?
- 12:52Speaker 3: Yes.
- 12:53Speaker 2: I had my first daughter at 18 days after I
- 12:56Speaker 2: turned 15. I had my second child when I was 17.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I had my third child when I was 19 and
- 13:01Speaker 2: I had.
- 13:01Speaker 3: A lot of when I was 26. Wow.
- 13:03Speaker 1: So what was that like being a mom at 15?
- 13:06Speaker 3: It was crazy. I got, I went and my mom
- 13:12Speaker 3: tried to actually give me, tell me like I needed
- 13:15Speaker 3: to give her away. I needed to not have a child.
- 13:18Speaker 2: And Being the headstrong person that I was and I
- 13:21Speaker 2: had a job at that point, I raised my child.
- 13:25Speaker 2: That's my oldest one today, my 28-year-old. And I took
- 13:30Speaker 2: care of my responsibilities. And, you know, they had the
- 13:35Speaker 2: best life, you know, that they could. They didn't have,
- 13:38Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying? I mean, I made sure
- 13:40Speaker 2: they had clothes. I made sure they had food. I mean,
- 13:42Speaker 2: you know, there were struggles along the way. But, you know,
- 13:46Speaker 2: you make things work out.
- 13:47Speaker 3: As a parent.
- 13:48Speaker 1: What job did you have at that time?
- 13:50Speaker 3: I actually worked at a Wendy's.
- 13:53Speaker 2: I worked at restaurants and stuff like that, restaurants and
- 13:58Speaker 2: warehouses and all that up until around 2008. Well, it
- 14:03Speaker 2: was actually until like 2012 when we became who we were.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Got it. So, okay, now talk to me about your
- 14:12Speaker 1: kids for a second. First, you had Anna, then Jessica,
- 14:15Speaker 1: then Lauren, then Alana, right?
- 14:17Speaker 3: Yes.
- 14:18Speaker 1: And then you come up with these amazing names. Were
- 14:20Speaker 1: those names from the show or you had been calling
- 14:23Speaker 1: them these names since childhood?
- 14:25Speaker 2: OK, so Chickadee came from Anna is one that likes
- 14:30Speaker 2: to sleep all the time and she was born in school.
- 14:33Speaker 2: And so, you know, she had to get up with
- 14:35Speaker 2: the chickens to go to school. OK, because you would never.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Get it with her. She would never get up with
- 14:39Speaker 3: her alarm clock. So I used to call her Chickadee.
- 14:41Speaker 2: OK, so we're like, OK, Chickadee, get your ass up
- 14:44Speaker 2: because you had to get it with them chickens. So
- 14:46Speaker 2: that was just something that just randomly came up while
- 14:47Speaker 2: she was going to school.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Okay, Chubbs, which is Jessica. You remember the box of
- 14:52Speaker 3: butt wipes? I don't know if you're old enough or not.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I'm not going to call you out on your age.
- 14:56Speaker 2: But you know the box of butt wipes that has
- 14:58Speaker 2: a little baby on it that was called Chubbs back
- 15:00Speaker 2: in the day?
- 15:01Speaker 3: Of course.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Okay, so Chubbs was a chubby baby, Jessica. So she
- 15:05Speaker 2: looked like the baby that was on the Chubbs box, okay?
- 15:07Speaker 3: That was her. Pumpkin, which is Lauren. Who the hell
- 15:11Speaker 3: is Lauren? I'm like, when you say Lauren, nobody knows
- 15:14Speaker 3: her by that name. So when she's introduced to people, see, Pumpkin, see,
- 15:17Speaker 3: she's obsessed with all this behind me. And anything Pumpkin related,
- 15:21Speaker 3: it could be a sticker or anything, all of her life.
- 15:24Speaker 2: And she got that name when she was, like, three
- 15:25Speaker 2: months old, and it's pretty much stuck. Nobody knows Pumpkin
- 15:29Speaker 2: as Lauren, but unless she goes to school or she's
- 15:32Speaker 2: at a government office. So I don't even know how
- 15:36Speaker 2: the hell she got that, but she's never been called Lauren.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Who the hell is Lauren? Yeah. So.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Alana actually came up with her own name, Honey Boo Boo,
- 15:46Speaker 2: because it goes back to October 12th. October 12th, we
- 15:50Speaker 2: started filming of 2011. And BJ Goldnick, which was our producer, sorry,
- 15:57Speaker 2: our camera guy at the time, gave her a wallet.
- 15:59Speaker 2: And we didn't even realize it had a dollar in it.
- 16:01Speaker 2: She was very nervous that day. She poured it out
- 16:04Speaker 2: and she goes, a dollar making, how about Honey Boo
- 16:07Speaker 2: Boo Child? And she came out with her own name
- 16:09Speaker 2: and it stuck.
- 16:10Speaker 3: And the world started calling her Honey Boo Boo and
- 16:12Speaker 3: it just stuck.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, that is amazing. All right, so now
- 16:16Speaker 1: you've brought us up to the point where Alana is
- 16:19Speaker 1: in your life and you guys are doing pageants and
- 16:21Speaker 1: you're asked to be on Toddlers and Tiara. What was
- 16:24Speaker 1: it like doing pageants in general?
- 16:27Speaker 2: Let me tell you, pageants are cutthroat. The parents are
- 16:32Speaker 2: hella worse than the kids are.
- 16:34Speaker 3: I mean, I'm just telling you. hella worse and what's.
- 16:38Speaker 2: So bad is the parents are so bad that they
- 16:41Speaker 2: will steal dresses they will steal your hair pieces they
- 16:44Speaker 2: will steal your flippers they will steal your hair and
- 16:47Speaker 2: makeup artist and pay them more money but then what's
- 16:50Speaker 2: so bad is when all this like riffraff is going
- 16:52Speaker 2: between the parents it's not the fact that it hurts
- 16:56Speaker 2: the parents it hurts the kids because the kids want
- 16:58Speaker 2: to play with each other and that's what it is
- 17:01Speaker 2: not so bad in the natural side it's more on
- 17:04Speaker 2: the glitz side But I will tell you, we never
- 17:07Speaker 2: experienced that, but I seen it happen.
- 17:10Speaker 3: But we personally never experienced that because I just, we
- 17:14Speaker 3: just didn't get in that drama, but we saw the drama.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:18Speaker 1: And so what was it like doing your first show?
- 17:20Speaker 1: Were you just like, oh my God, this is crazy.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Were you, obviously you were famous right from the get-go.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Well, we did our first pageant. That was our first
- 17:29Speaker 2: Blitz pageant. And we were newbies.
- 17:32Speaker 3: I mean, we were. We were newbies.
- 17:34Speaker 2: And Alana just loved doing it. And I did not
- 17:36Speaker 2: know anything about hair. I didn't know anything about flippers.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I didn't know anything about dresses. So we went in
- 17:40Speaker 2: there looking like whodunit and what. But we learned very
- 17:44Speaker 2: quick that you had to spend money. And in a weekend,
- 17:47Speaker 2: and this is before.
- 17:48Speaker 3: We were who we were, we had.
- 17:51Speaker 2: To save up for a good like month or two
- 17:54Speaker 2: to buy a dress because to get a dress made
- 17:57Speaker 2: was like, like 2,500 to get teeth made.
- 18:00Speaker 3: It was like, uh, like 250 bucks to get a
- 18:04Speaker 3: hair piece.
- 18:04Speaker 2: It was a couple hundred bucks to get your hair
- 18:06Speaker 2: and makeup for the weekend. It was like 250 bucks
- 18:09Speaker 2: to get spray tanned. It's like 30, uh, fees are
- 18:12Speaker 2: like 300 and Towers and chairs pays none of that. So, um,
- 18:17Speaker 2: so you have to do all that to be part
- 18:19Speaker 2: of a show like that. They pay none of that.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Right. So, but to be clear for people, you weren't
- 18:24Speaker 1: doing this to be on TV. You were doing this
- 18:26Speaker 1: because Alana wanted to be in pageants.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Correct, correct.
- 18:29Speaker 2: And what they do with, that's a misconception that people think.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Toddlers and chairs don't, don't, don't, that you send in
- 18:37Speaker 2: a submission video. We did not send in a submission video.
- 18:40Speaker 2: The pageant director contacted us because they were looking for,
- 18:44Speaker 2: Todd and Jared were looking for a new person to
- 18:47Speaker 2: fill that spot. And we were brand spanking new. And
- 18:51Speaker 2: when that pageant director was like, yes, so what does
- 18:54Speaker 2: that include? And she was like, oh, the camera guy
- 18:56Speaker 2: will come to your house.
- 18:57Speaker 3: And we were like, huh?
- 19:00Speaker 2: And when it came and they not, we had no
- 19:02Speaker 2: idea what to do. And when I tell you, I
- 19:06Speaker 2: don't see how it turned out the way it did
- 19:08Speaker 2: the first episode. We were so nervous for three days.
- 19:11Speaker 2: We had no idea what the hell we were doing.
- 19:14Speaker 1: And what were the other kids like? I mean, I've
- 19:16Speaker 1: seen Little Miss Sunshine. Do you remember that movie?
- 19:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 1: It was such a great movie. I love that. But
- 19:22Speaker 1: I can imagine that it must have been so.
- 19:25Speaker 4: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 19:28Speaker 4: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 19:33Speaker 4: before bed.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Or two, you know.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Nobody's watching. You deserve a treat. With eight flavours to
- 19:45Speaker 4: choose from, you can choose the flavor you favor with
- 19:48Speaker 4: Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Weird to walk in and see all these little prim
- 19:57Speaker 1: and proper girls that, you know, their moms are such
- 20:00Speaker 1: stage moms. Was it like that for you guys?
- 20:04Speaker 3: Um... Well, I have to say I'm big on that
- 20:07Speaker 3: stage mom too, because Alana's graduating like next month. Okay.
- 20:12Speaker 2: And I told her, I said, look, you don't, you
- 20:15Speaker 2: have not been across that stage in a while. And
- 20:17Speaker 2: don't think that I'm.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Not going to scream. One last time. If she walks
- 20:23Speaker 3: across that stage, you know what I'm saying?
- 20:26Speaker 2: So she's like, Oh my God, y'all are about to
- 20:28Speaker 2: embarrass the shit out of me at graduation.
- 20:30Speaker 3: So I will have to say that I will cheer
- 20:32Speaker 3: her on.
- 20:33Speaker 2: But if she didn't enjoy it as much as she would,
- 20:36Speaker 2: I do say that some of those moms.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Do it because they get to keep more out of it.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Because there was some kids there that I feel like
- 20:45Speaker 2: it was like a routine every weekend that they were
- 20:48Speaker 2: just like it was like a train. You know what
- 20:51Speaker 2: I'm saying? So but there was a lot of kids
- 20:53Speaker 2: that loved it, too, that you could see they were seasoned. Right, right.
- 20:58Speaker 1: So America then watched you on from not to hot
- 21:01Speaker 1: and they watched your transformation and your weight loss. How
- 21:04Speaker 1: was that? Forget about being on the show, but how
- 21:07Speaker 1: was that weight loss for you? And then to have
- 21:09Speaker 1: it documented in such a way.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Um, for me, like, okay, I had already lost like
- 21:15Speaker 2: 200 pounds on myself. Like I went from five 50
- 21:17Speaker 2: down to like three 11. And then I had the
- 21:19Speaker 2: weight loss surgery. I went from three 11 down to
- 21:21Speaker 2: one 95.
- 21:22Speaker 3: And then I had my, then I had my skin
- 21:24Speaker 3: removal surgery on my arms. I had my chest lifted.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I had a tummy tuck and I had my chin
- 21:30Speaker 2: just lipoed underneath, right? So I had no facial, none
- 21:34Speaker 2: of this done. And for me, I always wanted my arms,
- 21:39Speaker 2: my stomach done even when I was bigger because I
- 21:41Speaker 2: had a fupa, my arms were hanging down.
- 21:44Speaker 3: I wanted to feel good about myself. But because I
- 21:46Speaker 3: lost weight so fast and I tell you this all
- 21:49Speaker 3: the time when they ask me about the gastric sleeve
- 21:50Speaker 3: and they ask me about stuff like that. Just know
- 21:54Speaker 3: that you are, it is going to change your body dramatically.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Know what you're getting into. I feel like I got
- 22:00Speaker 3: skinny way super fast. I got down to like 130.
- 22:03Speaker 2: I went from a size 28 to like a zero
- 22:05Speaker 2: at my lowest. You start seeing skin and bones. I've
- 22:11Speaker 2: been like 241 for like almost like over two years.
- 22:15Speaker 2: And I feel like this is where I'm going to
- 22:16Speaker 2: be at. because I'm not one up and I'm not
- 22:18Speaker 2: one down.
- 22:20Speaker 3: And I think.
- 22:21Speaker 1: What was the lowest you ever got to?
- 22:23Speaker 3: A 130. Oh, wow.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Like if you look at those pictures, I was
- 22:28Speaker 2: in a red dress. You can't really tell it, but
- 22:29Speaker 2: I mean, you could see my rib cage. You could
- 22:32Speaker 2: see my bones right here. You could see my bones
- 22:35Speaker 2: in my arm. And for me, like that was just
- 22:38Speaker 2: way too skinny. You can see the bones in my face.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Like that was before like my drug addiction and everything.
- 22:43Speaker 2: So like, And so after my drug addiction, I went
- 22:47Speaker 2: up to like 200 and now I'm like 241. I've
- 22:50Speaker 2: been that way for a couple of years. And I
- 22:52Speaker 2: just think that's where God wants me to be at.
- 22:55Speaker 1: And you're happiest at this weight? You feel good?
- 22:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I do because I've tried to go to the gym.
- 23:01Speaker 2: I've tried to work out. I've tried to do diet.
- 23:03Speaker 2: I've tried to do like stuff that the gastric sleeve
- 23:07Speaker 2: doctor has told me to do. And I can't move
- 23:10Speaker 2: the scale from 241.
- 23:12Speaker 1: So but you said originally you had lost 200 pounds
- 23:14Speaker 1: on your own before you did any surgeries. Did you
- 23:16Speaker 1: go on a specific diet?
- 23:18Speaker 3: No, it was weird.
- 23:20Speaker 2: I got some stresses out of my life and really
- 23:23Speaker 2: wasn't even trying to lose weight at that time.
- 23:25Speaker 3: It's kind of like I got away from some stresses
- 23:27Speaker 3: and lost weight. Just it fell off.
- 23:30Speaker 1: My gosh, that's amazing. So talk to me about what
- 23:33Speaker 1: it was like to be on The Masked Singer.
- 23:36Speaker 2: The Masked Singer was the first thing that me and
- 23:38Speaker 2: Alana did outside of me being, and it was kind
- 23:42Speaker 2: of crazy. It was a very emotional time for me.
- 23:45Speaker 3: And that was the truth.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Because Alana had did Dancing with the Stars and Junior Edition,
- 23:52Speaker 2: the only Junior Edition that they did with Dancing with
- 23:55Speaker 2: the Stars.
- 23:55Speaker 3: And that was a pretty big deal. But the Masked
- 23:59Speaker 3: Singer was.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Even a more emotional thing for me because that was
- 24:04Speaker 2: the first thing that I had done with Alana in
- 24:07Speaker 2: my recovery.
- 24:08Speaker 3: I had done with Alana since I had been sober.
- 24:12Speaker 2: And so Dina Katz, which is an amazing, amazing producer,
- 24:16Speaker 2: had reached out to Alana personally.
- 24:19Speaker 3: And was like hey we want you and your mom
- 24:21Speaker 3: to be.
- 24:21Speaker 2: The first daughter daughter mother daughter duo on the mass
- 24:25Speaker 2: singer and I was like oh my god like this
- 24:28Speaker 2: would be cool for us to share this moment in
- 24:32Speaker 2: my recovery you know I'm saying do something together first
- 24:35Speaker 2: time and it was amazing and me with my blonde
- 24:38Speaker 2: ass because I'm totally blonde in this side only like
- 24:40Speaker 2: 10% left in this side and it was a cool
- 24:43Speaker 2: experience even though our asses do not sing cannot hold
- 24:47Speaker 2: a tune in a bucket But we went out there
- 24:49Speaker 2: and we had fun for like three weeks. And it
- 24:53Speaker 2: was an amazing experience. I recommend it to anyone if
- 24:56Speaker 2: the Masked Singer reaches out to y'all. Even if you
- 24:59Speaker 2: can't sing, go do it.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Have fun. Be yourself.
- 25:03Speaker 2: A lot of people go out there and can't sing.
- 25:05Speaker 2: But behind that mask, you can be anybody you want
- 25:07Speaker 2: to be.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Right.
- 25:08Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 25:09Speaker 2: So.
- 25:10Speaker 1: You were talking about your 2019 drug possession arrest or whatever,
- 25:15Speaker 1: and that ultimately cost you custody of Alana, right? To Lauren.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Yes.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Yeah, to Pumpkin. So how has that affected you?
- 25:25Speaker 3: Um, you know, and I, and I, I tell a
- 25:27Speaker 3: lot of people this, okay. Um, you know, yes, it hurt.
- 25:32Speaker 2: A lot, but at that point in time in my life,
- 25:36Speaker 2: I couldn't even take care of my fucking self.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Honestly, I wasn't even good enough for myself, more or
- 25:44Speaker 2: less be good enough for somebody else. And I allowed
- 25:48Speaker 2: a drug to overtake me. Um, and that's the truth.
- 25:52Speaker 2: I mean, I can't, I can't say sorry enough. I
- 25:55Speaker 2: can't take that back. I wish it would have never happened.
- 26:00Speaker 3: But also, you.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Know, with her being the agent she is, we talked
- 26:04Speaker 2: about it as a family because it happened when we
- 26:07Speaker 2: finally went to court, I was in my sobriety. So,
- 26:09Speaker 2: you know, we sat down, she had already went to
- 26:12Speaker 2: the judge and told the judge and, you know, I
- 26:15Speaker 2: didn't want to go into court and have this mud
- 26:17Speaker 2: slinging battle of, okay.
- 26:19Speaker 3: I'm clean now. Let's do this. Let's do that. And,
- 26:22Speaker 3: you know, going back and forth.
- 26:24Speaker 2: And then Alana hate me and pumpkin at the end
- 26:27Speaker 2: of the day. So we decided that, Hey, She has
- 26:31Speaker 2: one more year of school. She's fixing to turn 18 anyway.
- 26:35Speaker 2: So let's just leave her in this situation. And when
- 26:37Speaker 2: I see her every day, like literally she's going to
- 26:39Speaker 2: get her, she's going to get her eyelashes done for
- 26:41Speaker 2: prom this weekend anyway. Like we see each other all
- 26:44Speaker 2: the time anyway. So it's not like, oh my God,
- 26:47Speaker 2: she totally cut me off or I cut her off.
- 26:49Speaker 2: So it's not like that situation like people think it is.
- 26:53Speaker 1: So Pumpkin has full custody of her now, but this
- 26:55Speaker 1: probably allows you to be more present in her life
- 26:59Speaker 1: and in a position to really like have a better
- 27:01Speaker 1: relationship with her, it sounds like.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Right, right. So like, yeah, so it's not, it doesn't like,
- 27:06Speaker 3: like stop the relationship, no.
- 27:08Speaker 1: And how's Pumpkin doing? I mean, doesn't she have four
- 27:11Speaker 1: kids of her own?
- 27:12Speaker 3: Yes, she has.
- 27:13Speaker 1: So how's that going in that household?
- 27:16Speaker 2: Oh, it's crazy at times because she has a set
- 27:19Speaker 2: of twins that are just turning one. They're turning one
- 27:22Speaker 2: next month. She has a family that turns two in July,
- 27:25Speaker 2: but y'all seen. And then Tink is fixing to be six.
- 27:29Speaker 2: It's a hectic household over here. I will let you
- 27:31Speaker 2: know that most of the time. But, you know, Pumpkin
- 27:35Speaker 2: and Josh do very good. But with help from everyone
- 27:38Speaker 2: of all of us, you know, and Pumpkin, I'll tell
- 27:40Speaker 2: you yourself, it wasn't from help from a lot of people.
- 27:42Speaker 2: I think that she would have done pulled her hair
- 27:44Speaker 2: out with the twins, especially because they can be a
- 27:48Speaker 2: family and the twins can be a handful at times.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Well, it definitely takes a village. I only have one
- 27:54Speaker 1: child and two dogs. And I realize I need a
- 27:56Speaker 1: village for that. So I can't imagine what you guys need.
- 27:59Speaker 1: But you guys all live very close, right? Yes.
- 28:01Speaker 3: Yes. Yeah.
- 28:03Speaker 1: So you can.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Well, we're halfway in Alabama and halfway in Georgia. So
- 28:07Speaker 2: but here lately, we've been more and so in Georgia
- 28:10Speaker 2: the last few months than we have been in Alabama. Right.
- 28:13Speaker 1: So talk to me a little bit more about that.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Anna is currently undergoing chemotherapy, right?
- 28:19Speaker 3: Yes. Yes. We last week was her second round. Right.
- 28:23Speaker 1: So she was recently diagnosed with stage four cancer. It's
- 28:26Speaker 1: adrenal carcinoma, right? That's a type of cancer that affects
- 28:29Speaker 1: her kidney and lungs. How did you guys find out
- 28:32Speaker 1: about that?
- 28:34Speaker 3: Actually, it was kind of crazy.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Back in late August, she actually was just complaining of
- 28:41Speaker 2: like her back hurting and she went to the doctor.
- 28:43Speaker 2: She actually went to the hospital. They actually found a
- 28:46Speaker 2: tumor on her kidney. So if you just had surgery
- 28:49Speaker 2: to remove it, because they were like, oh, it's a
- 28:51Speaker 2: tumor and it's probably.
- 28:53Speaker 4: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 28:56Speaker 4: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 29:01Speaker 4: before bed. Or two, you know. Nobody's watching.
- 29:08Speaker 2: You deserve a treat.
- 29:12Speaker 4: With eight flavors to choose from, you can choose the
- 29:15Speaker 4: flavor you favor with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 29:23Speaker 2: We like benign or like not cancerous, okay? And so
- 29:27Speaker 2: when she had it done, she had it done.
- 29:29Speaker 3: At the hospital. They took it out.
- 29:31Speaker 2: She went to ICU because it was something removed from
- 29:34Speaker 2: her adrenal gland and all that.
- 29:36Speaker 3: They removed her left adrenal gland. So we thought she
- 29:39Speaker 3: was fine.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Well that night she called me and she was crying
- 29:42Speaker 2: and she was like mom they said it was stage
- 29:44Speaker 2: two cancer we had no idea so there's no telling
- 29:46Speaker 2: how long she had it well she went back a
- 29:49Speaker 2: couple months later you know for her like checkup they
- 29:51Speaker 2: told us oh it's fine we got it all no
- 29:54Speaker 2: big deal go back she's going about her life she's
- 29:58Speaker 2: going to work she's selling cars. She's, you know, we're
- 30:01Speaker 2: living our life. We're like, okay, no big deal. She
- 30:03Speaker 2: had a breast cancer. You know, we're living a happy life.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Well, come January of this year, 2023, she.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Had a scan done and they seen a spot on
- 30:11Speaker 2: her kidney and her lung. And they just said, hey,
- 30:16Speaker 2: it looks like something is awareness. She wanted a second opinion.
- 30:19Speaker 2: They transferred her to Atlanta. We had, me and Justin
- 30:23Speaker 2: had our wedding ceremony.
- 30:24Speaker 3: They came down for the next week. She went and
- 30:27Speaker 3: had a scan done in Atlanta. And it had grown
- 30:30Speaker 3: from the little b spots.
- 30:31Speaker 2: On her kidney and her lungs to 10 centimeter tumor
- 30:34Speaker 2: on her kidney and in her lungs to her spleen
- 30:38Speaker 2: and to her bigger her lungs and that's when the
- 30:42Speaker 2: doctor diagnosed her in February with stage four cancer and.
- 30:47Speaker 3: We did her first treatment two weeks later of the chemo.
- 30:53Speaker 2: And we just got done with the second round last week.
- 30:56Speaker 2: And she lost her hair very, very, very quickly within
- 30:59Speaker 2: two weeks. And it's been a hard struggle for the
- 31:01Speaker 2: family because We don't know. The doctor didn't give us
- 31:07Speaker 2: a timeline.
- 31:08Speaker 3: We don't know.
- 31:10Speaker 2: And we don't want to really know a timeline because
- 31:13Speaker 2: we've talked to some people that's been in stage one
- 31:15Speaker 2: and stage two because it is a very rare cancer.
- 31:17Speaker 2: One in one million get it every year. It's only
- 31:20Speaker 2: 200 people in the world that's got adrenal carcinoma. And
- 31:23Speaker 2: there's not a lot of research on this cancer. Um,
- 31:27Speaker 2: but there's people that we've talked to that have lived
- 31:29Speaker 2: for three years, but they've been on some, they've been
- 31:32Speaker 2: on chemo treatments, multiple, multiple times. And they've had to
- 31:36Speaker 2: be on some kind of treatment to stay alive. So
- 31:39Speaker 2: that does give us hope, but we have not talked
- 31:42Speaker 2: to anybody that's been over stage one.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Right, right. Oh, wow. That's just an unbelievable story. So what, um,
- 31:49Speaker 1: you were there all last week with her, like, how
- 31:51Speaker 1: was she doing with the second round besides obviously losing
- 31:54Speaker 1: her hair?
- 31:55Speaker 2: It it honestly was different she said um this girl
- 31:58Speaker 2: around she sniffed and it's crazy we made a joke
- 32:01Speaker 2: about it um because you have to you know um
- 32:04Speaker 2: alcohol pads she was sniffing the hell out of alcohol
- 32:07Speaker 2: pads because the nurse was saying that would help her
- 32:08Speaker 2: with the nausea during the treatment and i.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Said we all joked about it we said well shit.
- 32:12Speaker 2: It's getting down to the fact that you know it
- 32:14Speaker 2: come down to this a sniffing alcohol pads you know
- 32:17Speaker 2: because literally she was having a just keep the alcohol
- 32:20Speaker 2: pad like up there because it was making her kind
- 32:22Speaker 2: of nauseous and it was making her lightheaded and dizzy.
- 32:24Speaker 3: So for her not to pass out or to.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Throw up the doc, the nurses were telling her just
- 32:29Speaker 2: to like, keep it like right here.
- 32:31Speaker 3: So she could just kind of like snip it.
- 32:33Speaker 2: I didn't know that alcohol pads could help me from
- 32:35Speaker 2: passing out and could help me from not getting nauseous.
- 32:37Speaker 3: So, Hey, if you didn't know that now you do.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Um, but, um, But outside of that, she's not feeling
- 32:44Speaker 2: as nauseous this week coming home, but she is more tired.
- 32:49Speaker 2: She is tired of getting the chemo already, but I
- 32:52Speaker 2: keep telling her that just think about it this way.
- 32:55Speaker 2: If you have to go once a week, once a
- 32:58Speaker 2: month to stay here and raise your children and to
- 33:02Speaker 2: be here, and I know how much it sucks, but
- 33:06Speaker 2: think about like, would you prefer to be here and
- 33:09Speaker 2: see your kids grow up? Cause our kids are 10
- 33:11Speaker 2: and seven or would you prefer not to be here?
- 33:14Speaker 3: Right.
- 33:15Speaker 5: Right so she's yeah I know yeah I know that
- 33:18Speaker 5: it's a hard pill to swallow even as her mom
- 33:21Speaker 5: and I know if I'm having a hard time swallowing
- 33:23Speaker 5: it then I know it's a hundred times harder for
- 33:25Speaker 5: her to swallow the pill but I just have.
- 33:28Speaker 3: To keep reminding her that I know that my husband.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Keeps saying stop telling her that but I'm like I
- 33:34Speaker 2: have to keep reminding her that because sometimes I feel
- 33:36Speaker 2: like she wants to sometimes give up and you know
- 33:40Speaker 2: I'm not give up but you know what I'm saying it's.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Just course yeah it's hard it's so strenuous but yeah
- 33:46Speaker 1: she has to think of her kids who really want
- 33:48Speaker 1: her and need her and right obviously to fight as
- 33:51Speaker 1: hard as possible has this um experience with um with
- 33:55Speaker 1: anna getting sick has that made your whole family closer
- 33:58Speaker 1: i know that you guys have struggled with being estranged
- 34:01Speaker 1: from each other having some issues in the past.
- 34:04Speaker 3: Yes, I would have to say that it does. It does.
- 34:07Speaker 3: It has like helped us get along.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Like last week, Pumpkin watched like Caitlin and like I
- 34:14Speaker 2: walked during the week, but then like Pumpkin and Alana
- 34:17Speaker 2: will come at least like one day of the week or,
- 34:20Speaker 2: you know, like mainly it's just me and Justin that
- 34:22Speaker 2: stay up there all week. So she doesn't have to
- 34:24Speaker 2: drive back and forth because that is a round trip
- 34:27Speaker 2: every day, five hours. And her body is so wore
- 34:30Speaker 2: out after doing a treatment for five or six hours
- 34:33Speaker 2: that get her in a car for two hours there
- 34:36Speaker 2: and two hours back is a lot.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Yeah, of course. Of course. So you mentioned your new husband.
- 34:42Speaker 1: How did you meet? His name is Justin Stroud, right?
- 34:45Speaker 3: Yes. Yes. We actually met on TikTok.
- 34:50Speaker 2: He was on the back of somebody's live and we
- 34:54Speaker 2: just started talking as friends and I was one third.
- 34:57Speaker 3: I was getting out of them. I had left a
- 34:58Speaker 3: domestic violence situation and I was.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Just getting to know who June Shannon was for the
- 35:03Speaker 2: first time in my life. And he came in my
- 35:05Speaker 2: life and literally, well, everybody was like spitting out in
- 35:08Speaker 2: and out of my life. Like he was just staying there,
- 35:10Speaker 2: but he didn't want nothing.
- 35:12Speaker 3: He didn't, he didn't ask. He didn't, he wasn't.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Trying to get anything from me. He wasn't trying to
- 35:17Speaker 2: gain anything from me. He wasn't, he wasn't wanting anything,
- 35:21Speaker 2: but like a friendship. And I was like, this is different. Like,
- 35:25Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying? Like, cause in this industry,
- 35:28Speaker 2: I don't know about you, I don't know if you've
- 35:29Speaker 2: experienced this, which maybe you have or whatever, where like people,
- 35:33Speaker 2: you feel like sometimes just want something or they're just
- 35:35Speaker 2: around for like the benefits. And I've had that happen
- 35:39Speaker 2: multiple times.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Over the years.
- 35:41Speaker 2: And he just, he didn't want anything. He was just
- 35:44Speaker 2: wanting to say, Hey, how you doing? Like, and he
- 35:47Speaker 2: knew no idea, like what was going on in my life.
- 35:49Speaker 2: And I don't know, he would just like text and.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Be like, Hey, how you doing? How's your day going?
- 35:54Speaker 2: And like, we hung out a couple of times and he,
- 35:57Speaker 2: He never did want nothing. And I was just like, okay, damn,
- 36:00Speaker 2: this is intriguing. Like this person don't want nothing from me,
- 36:05Speaker 2: but like a friendship or genuine, you know what I'm saying?
- 36:09Speaker 2: And that's, that's been hard to find like over the
- 36:12Speaker 2: years for me.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Well, I'm sure it's been really hard for you to
- 36:14Speaker 1: trust people because obviously, I mean, as I know in
- 36:17Speaker 1: my own life, um, when people think they know you
- 36:19Speaker 1: from being such a public figure, you get it all wrong,
- 36:22Speaker 1: but they also are obsessed with being in your life
- 36:24Speaker 1: or being part of the story. So you get a
- 36:27Speaker 1: lot of bad people in there. And then also, let's
- 36:30Speaker 1: be honest, you haven't had the best picker with men.
- 36:32Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. Right. Right.
- 36:34Speaker 1: So you have a little bit of something to get
- 36:37Speaker 1: over and finding the right one. So how did you know?
- 36:39Speaker 1: Cause you haven't been married before, right? Even though you've
- 36:41Speaker 1: dated a couple of men.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Never. I don't like I don't know. There was just
- 36:46Speaker 3: something different about him. Like when he told me, like when.
- 36:50Speaker 2: We he kind of like we first met, I was
- 36:53Speaker 2: staying with a mutual friend. Me and a mutual friend
- 36:55Speaker 2: had got a house together and he came over to
- 36:58Speaker 2: see him one morning and I like gave him a
- 37:02Speaker 2: hug or whatever. And he told me I backed off
- 37:05Speaker 2: of him. But I don't remember backing off of him
- 37:07Speaker 2: like out of a hug. But like I did. I
- 37:09Speaker 2: guess I did. But I told him, I said, you
- 37:11Speaker 2: kind of like took my breath away. Like I kind
- 37:14Speaker 2: of like when I hugged him, I kind of like
- 37:16Speaker 2: felt like something, you know what I'm saying? Because I
- 37:18Speaker 2: started kind of like liking him, you know, after like
- 37:20Speaker 2: a few months of talking to him. But then the
- 37:23Speaker 2: next weekend he came over and I kind of wanted
- 37:25Speaker 2: to tell him that I kind of like liked him.
- 37:27Speaker 3: But he told me.
- 37:28Speaker 2: That he could tell that I was kind of like,
- 37:31Speaker 2: crushing on him, but he didn't want to say nothing. So,
- 37:34Speaker 2: but I waited like another whole nother month to even
- 37:37Speaker 2: say anything to him. And then I came back from
- 37:40Speaker 2: like Vegas and I actually ended up like immediately landing,
- 37:45Speaker 2: coming home and saying, and went to his house like
- 37:49Speaker 2: 11 o'clock at night. And when do you grab something
- 37:52Speaker 2: to eat? And I was like, look, I need to
- 37:53Speaker 2: like tell you something. Like, I really like you.
- 37:55Speaker 3: And that was like September 17th. Um, and.
- 38:00Speaker 2: About 2021 and literally like the 23rd of September.
- 38:05Speaker 3: That's when he asked me to be his girlfriend. And
- 38:06Speaker 3: that's pretty much the end of the story.
- 38:08Speaker 1: And then how did he propose to you?
- 38:11Speaker 3: I actually proposed to him.
- 38:13Speaker 5: What?
- 38:13Speaker 1: Oh my God. Amazing. How'd you do it?
- 38:16Speaker 3: Um, actually like it was weird.
- 38:21Speaker 4: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 38:24Speaker 4: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 38:29Speaker 4: before bed.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Or two, you know.
- 38:34Speaker 4: Nobody's watching. You deserve a treat. With eight flavours to
- 38:41Speaker 4: choose from, you can choose the flavour you favour with
- 38:44Speaker 4: Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 38:51Speaker 2: I just kind of, like, I had this whole, like, proposal, like,
- 38:54Speaker 2: made out or whatever. But, like, sometimes life just doesn't
- 38:57Speaker 2: happen like that. So he had actually went through, like, some, like,
- 39:05Speaker 2: bullshit that happened, like, in the past. And he had
- 39:08Speaker 2: got locked up. Well, he got out of jail or whatever.
- 39:11Speaker 2: And when he got out of jail, I had asked
- 39:14Speaker 2: him then... And I had.
- 39:16Speaker 3: This whole proposal because we were in Florida. I was
- 39:18Speaker 3: going to do it on the beach. I was going
- 39:19Speaker 3: to do this nice, romantic thing.
- 39:21Speaker 2: And I was like, shit, that all got, like, throw
- 39:23Speaker 2: this shit in a handbasket and all.
- 39:24Speaker 3: This other stuff.
- 39:25Speaker 2: So when he got out, that's when I had asked him, like,
- 39:30Speaker 2: and everything. And then it was shortly, like a month later,
- 39:34Speaker 2: we got married. So we got married like six months
- 39:36Speaker 2: after we met and we were married like, now a
- 39:39Speaker 2: year and like a month. And we had our ceremony
- 39:43Speaker 2: like back in February, like almost a year after we met. Oh,
- 39:46Speaker 2: that's right.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Cause you, you got.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Married before you had the actual ceremony.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Yes. Yes. A year prior to us having the ceremony. Right.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Okay.
- 39:55Speaker 1: So my biggest question about that is, are you happy now?
- 39:59Speaker 3: Yes, I am extremely happy.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Like even like we have been through so much shit
- 40:04Speaker 2: in the last, honestly, on both sides, like we have
- 40:08Speaker 2: been through so much shit together and I'll be honest
- 40:10Speaker 2: with everybody like I tell him this all the time
- 40:14Speaker 2: there's a lot of shit that we've been through like
- 40:17Speaker 2: for instance like now with Anna going through stage four
- 40:19Speaker 2: cancer it's a lot okay it is a lot for
- 40:24Speaker 2: like us as a family like me pumpkin Alana and
- 40:27Speaker 2: Jessica and everybody to deal with okay.
- 40:30Speaker 3: It's a lot because I go through mood swings with
- 40:32Speaker 3: it like some days I don't.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Know whether to yell to cry to be happy to
- 40:35Speaker 2: be mad to be sad to fucking cuss and yell
- 40:39Speaker 2: at somebody.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Okay.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Like he has to deal with that in the day,
- 40:42Speaker 2: but he does like, you know, so he's a good person.
- 40:45Speaker 2: He stands right there and does it. And he's been
- 40:47Speaker 2: emotional for him. You know what I'm saying? Because he's
- 40:49Speaker 2: been in the picture now two years, like a lot
- 40:52Speaker 2: of people would just like walk away from that, you know,
- 40:54Speaker 2: because it'd be too much for them to handle because
- 40:56Speaker 2: he's new to the relationship.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Sure.
- 40:58Speaker 2: I mean, there's been other circumstances. Like a lot of
- 41:01Speaker 2: people didn't want us together to begin with two years ago.
- 41:03Speaker 2: And we fought through all that for like six or
- 41:05Speaker 2: seven months. Like there's just been so many situations that
- 41:09Speaker 2: we have showed like people that we are still standing
- 41:11Speaker 2: strong through to two years that most couples would not
- 41:15Speaker 2: have made it through.
- 41:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Right. And so like, we've showed people like, okay, y'all
- 41:20Speaker 2: think y'all can break this, but no. And there's just
- 41:22Speaker 2: been a lot of situations that, um, that a lot
- 41:26Speaker 2: of couples I feel like would have done broke up
- 41:29Speaker 2: this little, like little knickknack shit. Um, but we haven't,
- 41:33Speaker 2: you know, and it's not like us for a personal
- 41:35Speaker 2: stuff has went on in our life. It's just life
- 41:38Speaker 2: situations that have came up that we just have fought
- 41:41Speaker 2: through together.
- 41:41Speaker 1: All four of your daughters came together to walk you
- 41:44Speaker 1: down the aisle. But before that happened, were they, how
- 41:47Speaker 1: did it go about you finally getting engaged to somebody
- 41:50Speaker 1: and planning on getting married for the first time?
- 41:53Speaker 3: Um, honestly, I did not tell them that I got
- 41:56Speaker 3: married at the courthouse.
- 41:57Speaker 2: I honestly kind of lied to them, even though Pumpkin
- 42:00Speaker 2: got the wedding certificate at her house.
- 42:03Speaker 3: I didn't know that she was supposed to get that.
- 42:04Speaker 2: So I tried to get the court not to send
- 42:06Speaker 2: her there, but she got it. And I'd still deny
- 42:11Speaker 2: it because I didn't kind of want their judgment, if
- 42:13Speaker 2: that makes sense. Um, but, um, You know, I kind
- 42:18Speaker 2: of denied it for a little while because honestly, at
- 42:21Speaker 2: that time, our relationship was kind of messed up at
- 42:23Speaker 2: that point, too.
- 42:25Speaker 3: And I just didn't want to hear the judgment of
- 42:27Speaker 3: that either. Right.
- 42:29Speaker 1: So how do they feel about each other now? All
- 42:32Speaker 1: your kids?
- 42:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, they all get along like they're cool,
- 42:36Speaker 2: like they they like.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Him, like they understand.
- 42:39Speaker 2: I think that honestly, with him always wanting to help
- 42:44Speaker 2: in any situation, whether it be something that's going on
- 42:48Speaker 2: with pumpkin or now with the situation with Anna, like
- 42:51Speaker 2: he has stepped up and he doesn't bitch about it.
- 42:54Speaker 2: He doesn't complain about it. Like he's going to help.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Or if there's something going on with like Jessica, or
- 43:00Speaker 2: there's something going on with Alana, like he's just always
- 43:03Speaker 2: like willing to help. And like in the past relationships,
- 43:06Speaker 2: like he's not been there to want to help.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Right.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Like, you know what I'm saying? Like in the past,
- 43:12Speaker 3: like men haven't been wanting to help.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Right.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Exactly. So he's really stepped up as a partner since
- 43:17Speaker 1: he's been.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Really? Yeah.
- 43:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Especially like here lately.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Like, you know, are you guys planning on having any
- 43:24Speaker 1: more kids?
- 43:26Speaker 3: Hell no. Alana is 18. Alana turns 18 in August.
- 43:30Speaker 3: She's graduating. Hell no.
- 43:31Speaker 2: He's got two kids. He's got a 13 year old
- 43:33Speaker 2: and a four year old boy. So hell no.
- 43:38Speaker 1: How often do you guys see those kids?
- 43:40Speaker 3: Um, that's all in the work in a process too.
- 43:43Speaker 2: So, but no, um, we, um, you know, like I said,
- 43:47Speaker 2: we're both, both of us are in recovery. He's been,
- 43:49Speaker 2: he's been clean. He's been clean for over two years
- 43:52Speaker 2: and I've been clean for over three years. So, um,
- 43:56Speaker 2: because when I actually met him, he had, he was
- 43:58Speaker 2: actually coming out of a, um, recovery house too. So, um,
- 44:03Speaker 2: we both have, we both understand the recovery part of it.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Um, and so everybody always says two recovery addicts cannot
- 44:10Speaker 2: be together but we're proven to the world yes the
- 44:12Speaker 2: fuck you can.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Good i love to hear that so your new air
- 44:18Speaker 1: your new show airs may 5th where does that show
- 44:20Speaker 1: pick up in your life.
- 44:23Speaker 2: Um the show picks up oh god damn what is
- 44:26Speaker 2: i'm sorry um it picks up like right after me
- 44:30Speaker 2: and pumpkin uh went to court so it peaks up
- 44:35Speaker 2: um around um because people gotta realize um a lot
- 44:38Speaker 2: of people start to think that the show is uh
- 44:42Speaker 2: live live reality tv and it is not so we
- 44:46Speaker 2: started filming last year around september of last year and
- 44:50Speaker 2: we just stopped filming yesterday and which was May 18th
- 44:55Speaker 2: or whatever.
- 44:57Speaker 3: So people got to realize when you start seeing the
- 44:59Speaker 3: show May 5th, it's all the way back to September.
- 45:03Speaker 2: But we always do our live watch parties on our TikTok,
- 45:06Speaker 2: which is.
- 45:07Speaker 3: My official Mama June page.
- 45:09Speaker 2: But like I said, if they cannot watch it there,
- 45:10Speaker 2: they can always catch it on, they don't get like WeTV.
- 45:13Speaker 2: You can always catch it on like YouTube TV.
- 45:16Speaker 3: You can catch it on Follow. You can catch it
- 45:17Speaker 3: on Sling TV. You can catch it on the YouTube,
- 45:21Speaker 3: I mean the WeTV app.
- 45:22Speaker 2: You can catch it on, you know, your Android box
- 45:25Speaker 2: on 402 in Canada.
- 45:27Speaker 3: There's multiple ways.
- 45:27Speaker 2: To like watch our show, but yeah, it's just going
- 45:31Speaker 2: to catch up with that. And then you're going to
- 45:33Speaker 2: be able to see our wedding. You're going to be able,
- 45:35Speaker 2: I can't give away too many details, but you know,
- 45:38Speaker 2: you're going to be able to see a lot of stuff.
- 45:40Speaker 2: There's going to be a lot of stuff. You're probably
- 45:42Speaker 2: going to crop out a lot of, you know, stuff
- 45:45Speaker 2: that we went through this year that has put us,
- 45:49Speaker 2: to where me and the girls are today. And it's
- 45:51Speaker 2: going to bring y'all to speed. And I think a
- 45:54Speaker 2: lot of people are going to relate to a lot
- 45:57Speaker 2: of real life stuff and a lot of, a lot
- 46:00Speaker 2: of promises, a lot of, a lot of emotional and
- 46:04Speaker 2: mental journey that we went on this, this year. A
- 46:08Speaker 2: lot of our mental and emotional and, and self, self,
- 46:13Speaker 2: journeys we went on this year. And that's what is
- 46:15Speaker 2: showing like a lot of our self.
- 46:17Speaker 3: Journeys that we went on this year. Um, and just
- 46:20Speaker 3: working on ourselves, if that makes sense.
- 46:22Speaker 1: So, of course. So do you like being a reality star?
- 46:25Speaker 1: I mean, it sounds like you do because you can
- 46:27Speaker 1: bring the world along with you as you go through
- 46:29Speaker 1: life and you guys almost don't have to do it alone.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I mean, I know it comes with a lot of haters, right?
- 46:35Speaker 1: Do you feel happy that you're given this opportunity to
- 46:37Speaker 1: continue your life on camera?
- 46:40Speaker 2: You know, like I tell people all the time, it's
- 46:42Speaker 2: got its ups and it's got its downs. You know,
- 46:44Speaker 2: some days, you know, you want to tell the cameras,
- 46:47Speaker 2: you know, come on in.
- 46:49Speaker 3: But then I'm.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Sure some days, just like in your life, you want
- 46:52Speaker 2: to tell the cameras to F off.
- 46:54Speaker 3: You know, you got those days.
- 46:57Speaker 2: But the most important thing I tell people is when
- 47:02Speaker 2: that person messages me on Instagram or when that person
- 47:05Speaker 2: sees me out in public and they say, Thank you
- 47:08Speaker 2: for telling your story.
- 47:10Speaker 3: I didn't walk that journey by myself or thank you.
- 47:12Speaker 2: You helped my family through a situation or, oh my God,
- 47:15Speaker 2: I didn't go through that alone. Or, oh my God,
- 47:17Speaker 2: I can relate to you in so many ways. That's
- 47:20Speaker 2: what makes it all worth it for us.
- 47:21Speaker 3: So those days that we want to tell somebody to
- 47:24Speaker 3: F all.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Then those days, those days help us push those comments
- 47:30Speaker 2: or those messages help us push through. those those rough
- 47:34Speaker 2: days that we don't want to don't want to let
- 47:38Speaker 2: cameras in our life you know yeah i mean everybody
- 47:42Speaker 2: has those diva moments i don't care who you are
- 47:45Speaker 2: you have those diva.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Moments right because we're human we are human at the
- 47:49Speaker 3: end of.
- 47:50Speaker 1: The day um and so so you guys are actually
- 47:54Speaker 1: watching your dms and responding to your comments yourself which.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Matters yeah Yes, yes.
- 48:01Speaker 2: We listen to our own emails. We answer our own
- 48:05Speaker 2: Instagram messages, everything. So when you get a response from us,
- 48:09Speaker 2: you're getting a response from us. You're not getting a
- 48:11Speaker 2: response from anybody else.
- 48:13Speaker 1: So if you're looking at those comments, you're also seeing
- 48:15Speaker 1: all the... kind of haters that write stuff.
- 48:18Speaker 3: And then, I mean, they get a block and delete.
- 48:22Speaker 2: They do.
- 48:22Speaker 1: Okay. That's interesting because I mean, even in my own life,
- 48:26Speaker 1: you know, for me, it's been hard because there could
- 48:28Speaker 1: be a hundred amazing comments about how you've changed somebody's
- 48:31Speaker 1: life or how much they love you or how beautiful
- 48:33Speaker 1: you are. And then that one comment that's awful will
- 48:36Speaker 1: sting and get into your head and erase all the
- 48:39Speaker 1: good that's in there. How do you and your daughters
- 48:42Speaker 1: feel with that?
- 48:43Speaker 3: Well, okay, I will be honest with you.
- 48:45Speaker 2: When this adventure first started, oh my God, I used
- 48:48Speaker 2: to cuss out and be mad at everybody. Just on
- 48:51Speaker 2: every little thing. I used to cuss out everybody. I
- 48:54Speaker 2: used to fuss at everybody. I used to be mad
- 48:56Speaker 2: at everybody. All the negative comments. It could be 5
- 48:59Speaker 2: million amazing comments, but like you said, that one comment
- 49:02Speaker 2: that was just like.
- 49:04Speaker 3: Ugh, you know what I'm saying? And there still does.
- 49:06Speaker 2: I guess since the ones now so much, like with
- 49:10Speaker 2: Anna or The ones that state that really the days
- 49:13Speaker 2: that I'm having those emotional days.
- 49:16Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 49:16Speaker 2: Where I don't know whether to cry or to be
- 49:18Speaker 2: mad or whatever. Those are the days that those hateful
- 49:21Speaker 2: comments really get to me. And I'll just tell my husband,
- 49:23Speaker 2: I'll be like, for real these people are really getting
- 49:26Speaker 2: on my damn nerves and that's when I have to
- 49:28Speaker 2: like log out of Instagram you know what I'm saying
- 49:30Speaker 2: because like I have to leave I have to leave
- 49:32Speaker 2: the message alone because those are the days that I'll
- 49:34Speaker 2: probably nut up on somebody and they'll sell the thing
- 49:36Speaker 2: to TMZ and be like mama June cussed me out
- 49:39Speaker 2: oh well yep I sure did cuss your ass out
- 49:41Speaker 2: because of what you put on what you sent me
- 49:43Speaker 2: but I mean and I would say something like that
- 49:46Speaker 2: in a message on Instagram and give them their little
- 49:48Speaker 2: five seconds of fame But I just click and now
- 49:51Speaker 2: I've learned to click out. But when I first started
- 49:54Speaker 2: this first two years, I would do that. So now
- 49:58Speaker 2: I just have to learn to disconnect and say that
- 50:01Speaker 2: there might be a there might be 20 stupid comments,
- 50:06Speaker 2: but there's a thousand fans that love you and that
- 50:09Speaker 2: you have changed their life and that know what you're
- 50:12Speaker 2: going through. Because I honestly didn't know who you were
- 50:16Speaker 2: and I had to look you up. I mean, I'm
- 50:18Speaker 2: going to be honest with you. I looked you up
- 50:20Speaker 2: and I seen some of your story and I promise
- 50:23Speaker 2: you what you went through. And, you know, I'm almost
- 50:27Speaker 2: going to throw it out there being the side piece.
- 50:29Speaker 2: I'm sure there's been other women in the side piece
- 50:31Speaker 2: and done the same way. So, you know, I'm sure
- 50:34Speaker 2: a lot of people can relate to you on.
- 50:35Speaker 3: That, too.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Yeah, 100 percent. And that's why I'm.
- 50:38Speaker 2: Not trying to I'm not trying to be mean on that,
- 50:40Speaker 2: but I.
- 50:41Speaker 3: Had to do it.
- 50:42Speaker 2: Like, I'm sure there's a lot of women that can
- 50:44Speaker 2: relate to your story, just like they can relate to
- 50:46Speaker 2: my story and went through what you went through.
- 50:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:49Speaker 1: And also to realize that, like, there's so much more
- 50:51Speaker 1: to your story than the one thing.
- 50:53Speaker 3: That people think that.
- 50:55Speaker 1: You should be judged for.
- 50:56Speaker 2: Right.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Which is this platform, too. So that brings me to
- 51:00Speaker 1: the next question. What's the biggest misconception that you want
- 51:03Speaker 1: to clear up in your life about your past, about
- 51:06Speaker 1: your current situation? What do you think is most misunderstood
- 51:10Speaker 1: about you?
- 51:12Speaker 2: The most misconception that I think is most thing is
- 51:15Speaker 2: that one, that just because I did drugs or I
- 51:23Speaker 2: gained back the weight or I gave Alana to Pumpkin
- 51:28Speaker 2: when I couldn't take care of my own self, that
- 51:31Speaker 2: doesn't make me a bad person. And people do change.
- 51:34Speaker 2: And you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Get
- 51:37Speaker 2: to know who that person is truly. Because like she said,
- 51:41Speaker 2: like you shouldn't be judged by just that one story
- 51:45Speaker 2: that you read on somebody, because when you actually get
- 51:48Speaker 2: to know who that person is deep down, that person
- 51:50Speaker 2: can be the most amazing person. And that person, you,
- 51:55Speaker 2: you know, honestly, if you got to know who I was,
- 51:57Speaker 2: I'm the most giving person, the most person that will
- 52:00Speaker 2: go to bat for you, that will do stuff for you.
- 52:03Speaker 3: I have done.
- 52:04Speaker 2: So much stuff like off the internet that I did
- 52:07Speaker 2: not need to, but like, I do honestly. like love
- 52:12Speaker 2: my children. I do do a lot for my, you know,
- 52:15Speaker 2: my community. I do a lot like in the recovery community,
- 52:19Speaker 2: all this stuff. So I do tell people that if
- 52:22Speaker 2: you really want to get to know me, don't be like, oh,
- 52:24Speaker 2: she's disgusting. Oh, she lost weight, but now she's gained
- 52:27Speaker 2: it back. Or, oh my God, she's still using drugs. Well,
- 52:32Speaker 2: if I was still using drugs, I wouldn't be around
- 52:34Speaker 2: my children today.
- 52:35Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? And I wouldn't be on
- 52:38Speaker 3: the screen. I wouldn't be doing this. I wouldn't be
- 52:41Speaker 3: doing that. So I do tell people that just because
- 52:45Speaker 3: you hear some bull crap about people doesn't mean that
- 52:49Speaker 3: it's fully who that person is.
- 52:51Speaker 2: 100%.
- 52:52Speaker 1: I love the answer. So what's next for you? Anything
- 52:55Speaker 1: that you have in the next year or two years
- 52:59Speaker 1: that you really want to do and accomplish?
- 53:01Speaker 2: Um, honestly, people ask me that all the time and
- 53:05Speaker 2: I have learned, um, especially in the last couple of months,
- 53:11Speaker 2: never to plan out your future.
- 53:15Speaker 3: Um, because you never know what tomorrow could throw at you.
- 53:19Speaker 3: I thought I had a.
- 53:20Speaker 2: Plan, what I wanted to do in the next five years. Um,
- 53:25Speaker 2: but honestly, I don't even know what tomorrow can bring.
- 53:29Speaker 2: So right now I'm just kind of just like, okay,
- 53:32Speaker 2: I know what I'm doing for the next month, but
- 53:36Speaker 2: I can't tell you what I'm going to be doing
- 53:38Speaker 2: in the next year. But I know that I'm going
- 53:42Speaker 2: to make the best of what I can make of it.
- 53:46Speaker 3: Whatever comes my way, I'm just going to like do it.
- 53:50Speaker 2: And I think that if you plan too far in advance,
- 53:53Speaker 2: it's great to have long-term goals.
- 53:56Speaker 3: I think everyone should have those.
- 53:58Speaker 2: Do that, but also make small goals in between those
- 54:01Speaker 2: long-term goals to reach that long-term goal. Because if you
- 54:04Speaker 2: can reach the small goals, those long-term goals will be
- 54:07Speaker 2: very achievable.
- 54:09Speaker 1: I think that's such a good answer because when you
- 54:12Speaker 1: live day-to-day, you're present. You know what I mean? Because
- 54:15Speaker 1: if you put something way far out there, you get
- 54:18Speaker 1: really distracted in, in between and you're really not present
- 54:21Speaker 1: in what you're doing and who you're with and where
- 54:23Speaker 1: you are right now. And so I think that's actually
- 54:25Speaker 1: really a great.
- 54:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:26Speaker 2: I mean, what, what I did is I started getting
- 54:28Speaker 2: lost in that, like planning, like stuff like six months,
- 54:32Speaker 2: seven months ahead. And I started to, and I guess
- 54:35Speaker 2: that like, and I know this sounds so bad, but
- 54:38Speaker 2: I felt like God was, like, seeing that, because I'm
- 54:41Speaker 2: not a Bible thumper by no means, by no damn ain't, but, like,
- 54:45Speaker 2: I mean, I believe in everything else, but I'm not
- 54:48Speaker 2: gonna see him be, like, Bible thumping, but, like, I
- 54:50Speaker 2: think that, like, like, it was seen that way, and, like,
- 54:54Speaker 2: it was kind of, like, him just, like, yanking me, like, okay,
- 54:56Speaker 2: you're getting, like, you're getting way too far ahead and
- 54:59Speaker 2: you're just not being present. And I could feel that
- 55:01Speaker 2: within myself. Like I was, I was doing life, but
- 55:04Speaker 2: I wasn't, I was just there. Does that make sense?
- 55:07Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 55:08Speaker 2: Cause like a lot of, a lot of people I
- 55:10Speaker 2: think get like that, like you're there, but you're not there.
- 55:13Speaker 3: And I felt like that. And then I guess like
- 55:15Speaker 3: a few months ago when all of this is like,
- 55:18Speaker 3: there was.
- 55:18Speaker 2: There was, there was a couple other situations, but it
- 55:20Speaker 2: was just like life kind of like smacked me in
- 55:22Speaker 2: the head.
- 55:22Speaker 3: It was like Anna and then a couple other things happened.
- 55:25Speaker 2: And, it was like, whoa, okay, I need to slow
- 55:28Speaker 2: my ass down because I'm planning shit too far in advance.
- 55:31Speaker 3: Like I just need to be right here.
- 55:33Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 55:33Speaker 1: And you have so much going on. All right, so
- 55:35Speaker 1: remind people where they can watch your show and how
