- 0:09Speaker 2: and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:21Speaker 3: It's showtime, folks.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Enjoy the show. Hello, this is Peter Mayhew, listening.
- 0:31Speaker 5: To Movie Mountain.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Mookie, Mookie, Mookie, look up to my name.
- 0:56Speaker 5: It's time for Sofa Theater.
- 1:02Speaker 1: You dare to challenge one who serves the master? No
- 1:08Speaker 1: earthly thing may take that right unless.
- 1:12Speaker 5: Life is hereby profited. And every male and female of
- 1:18Speaker 5: your line is damned!
- 1:20Speaker 6: Sofa Theater.
- 1:25Speaker 5: A hairy creature with rugged features Sing Van Halen's Little
- 1:35Speaker 5: Dreamer And as he sang his tune My girl started
- 1:39Speaker 5: to swoon Welcome to Movie Meltdown Sofa Theater. Once again,
- 2:18Speaker 5: I am Brian.
- 2:18Speaker 3: This is Roger. And Marlena.
- 2:20Speaker 5: Alright, we are all back this time.
- 2:22Speaker 7: Yep.
- 2:22Speaker 5: This week's Sofa Theater feature is terror. Oh, let's see.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Jesus. Here's 1978 director Norman J.
- 2:29Speaker 8: Warren.
- 2:33Speaker 5: The plot is royal ancestors feel the wrath of the
- 2:37Speaker 5: curses of the condemned witch Mad Dolly who spews forth
- 2:40Speaker 5: her prophecy while she is burned at the stake. Okay,
- 2:43Speaker 5: and from right here, spoiler alert, because if you don't
- 2:47Speaker 5: want to know what the hell's going on in this movie,
- 2:49Speaker 5: which we're still piecing together.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I have no clue.
- 2:50Speaker 5: But, yeah, we're definitely going to ruin whatever comes about
- 2:54Speaker 5: by the end of it. So, yeah, I would go
- 2:57Speaker 5: watch it first if you feel you need to.
- 2:59Speaker 3: If you can't.
- 3:01Speaker 7: If there's no other movies left.
- 3:04Speaker 5: The hell you say. But before we begin, since this is,
- 3:07Speaker 5: you know, part two of Wookiee Fest, it's time for
- 3:10Speaker 5: another session.
- 3:11Speaker 9: Of Oh, nice.
- 3:13Speaker 5: You can swing the door wide open because we're definitely
- 3:16Speaker 5: digging very deep into the vaults for this week's movie.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Balls deep.
- 3:20Speaker 4: Terror.
- 3:21Speaker 5: The major starring vehicle for our friend Peter Mayhew.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I mean, he was huge in this movie. His heart
- 3:28Speaker 3: was massive. He's huge.
- 3:30Speaker 5: I mean, that counts, right?
- 3:31Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 3:32Speaker 5: So, yeah, it's an interesting.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Well, that's the thing.
- 3:37Speaker 5: Looking into his movies, yeah, if you want to watch
- 3:40Speaker 5: a lot of movies that Peter Mayhew's in that aren't
- 3:42Speaker 5: Star Wars related... We're about done.
- 3:44Speaker 3: That was it.
- 3:45Speaker 5: I mean, short of Sinbad and this movie, there's one
- 3:49Speaker 5: or two other minor little things, but everything else, he's
- 3:52Speaker 5: pretty much Chewbacca in like every movie and then every
- 3:55Speaker 5: TV appearance here and there they show him. But I mean,
- 3:58Speaker 5: he's almost that.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I mean, that's been his.
- 4:00Speaker 5: Career pretty much his entire life otherwise. So I thought
- 4:04Speaker 5: it was funny to do an entire, you know, show
- 4:06Speaker 5: centering around him and but you know we're not gonna
- 4:09Speaker 5: watch star wars yeah exactly i mean i thought anybody
- 4:12Speaker 5: else would probably spend the whole time talking about star
- 4:14Speaker 5: wars or hell even sinbad no i want to do
- 4:17Speaker 5: terror no terror in which um not to spoil this
- 4:20Speaker 5: whole effect for you but he has all about 10
- 4:23Speaker 5: seconds on screen yeah at least his face uh you
- 4:26Speaker 5: see him sort of lumbering along but we'll get to
- 4:29Speaker 5: that later but i think it's funny that he's he's
- 4:31Speaker 5: just a minor minor character in this and yet I'm
- 4:35Speaker 5: centering the entire episode around it. Why? Because that's how
- 4:37Speaker 5: I operate.
- 4:38Speaker 3: That's how I roll.
- 4:40Speaker 5: So, without further ado, let's hear what Peter has to
- 4:43Speaker 5: say about making Terror. What do you remember.
- 4:48Speaker 3: On Terror from 78?
- 4:50Speaker 5: Oh, God.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Um, Terror.
- 4:52Speaker 2: It was a three-day shoot.
- 4:53Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 5: I played the biggest red herring that was going.
- 4:59Speaker 4: It was shot during the summertime.
- 5:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:02Speaker 1: And to get the rain they.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Had a fire pump pouring.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Rain up into the air and down onto this particular house.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So even within 15 You were getting wet.
- 5:23Speaker 4: All I can remember really is the wetness of three
- 5:30Speaker 4: nights on the truck.
- 5:31Speaker 2: And you just did it and never thought any more
- 5:37Speaker 2: about it.
- 5:40Speaker 5: Thank you again to peter for sharing his memories and
- 5:43Speaker 5: basically helping me discover this otherwise forgotten movie now whether
- 5:47Speaker 5: or not it's best forgotten we are about to discuss
- 5:50Speaker 5: this ruby all right let's get.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Into it i don't know how to get into it
- 5:55Speaker 3: though it's well we start off with a witch burning
- 5:59Speaker 3: we start off in what 300 years ago some sort
- 6:02Speaker 3: of cess and screaming just like.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Like speaking in tongues by the end of it.
- 6:07Speaker 3: This is where he was inspired to create the Chewbacca.
- 6:19Speaker 3: i don't know this was after too.
- 6:22Speaker 7: Long was it yeah it seems right after.
- 6:25Speaker 5: It was right after the first one it was before empire.
- 6:27Speaker 8: Really it looks like early 70s maybe it's just the
- 6:30Speaker 8: quality of it yeah i would have guessed like 72
- 6:33Speaker 8: no it was.
- 6:35Speaker 5: One it kind of plays yeah it kind of plays
- 6:37Speaker 5: the oh no you're.
- 6:38Speaker 8: Right it would have had to be at least 76
- 6:40Speaker 8: because for some reason on the mirror it said sham 69.
- 6:45Speaker 5: Yeah, and you're still perplexed by it. Yeah. Written in
- 6:49Speaker 5: lipstick on this mirror in this place that we'll get
- 6:51Speaker 5: to later. Yeah, it says this random thing, and I
- 6:54Speaker 5: just ignore it.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know either.
- 6:55Speaker 5: It's the P-O-E of this movie. Sometimes you just have
- 6:57Speaker 5: to put random graffiti-esque things in there, and that's what
- 7:00Speaker 5: they went with, so... O-P-E-P-O-E. I'll figure that out. It's
- 7:04Speaker 5: in the Coen Brothers work that's in there. In Raising Arizona,
- 7:08Speaker 5: it's written on the wall. It turns up in a
- 7:10Speaker 5: couple other movies. Oh, really?
- 7:11Speaker 3: It just makes appearances?
- 7:12Speaker 5: There's weird theories as to what it means or what
- 7:15Speaker 5: it's supposed to stand for, but graffiti, they work in
- 7:17Speaker 5: different places sometimes.
- 7:19Speaker 11: Really?
- 7:19Speaker 5: It's just letters. It's just initials.
- 7:21Speaker 7: It's probably just an inside joke.
- 7:22Speaker 12: I'm sure it is.
- 7:23Speaker 5: But it's like one of those. I think movies have
- 7:25Speaker 5: to do that. I mean, sometimes just for, you know,
- 7:27Speaker 5: set dressing, you have to dirty things up and throw
- 7:29Speaker 5: some graffiti around. So then sometimes it becomes funny what
- 7:32Speaker 5: they decide to put in there.
- 7:33Speaker 7: It's probably just random. They're like, Jam 69 rules.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sure.
- 7:37Speaker 5: It's like when somebody went to high school or something.
- 7:40Speaker 6: Dude, we rule.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Kurt Loder.
- 7:45Speaker 5: Kurt Loder.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Kurt Loder.
- 7:46Speaker 5: I don't know if anybody else gets that.
- 7:48Speaker 6: No.
- 7:48Speaker 7: Nobody from.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Just to bring the story together. Well, they probably know
- 7:52Speaker 5: who Kurt Loder. Well, actually, maybe not at this point.
- 7:54Speaker 5: But for some reason, like four or five years ago,
- 7:58Speaker 5: a local, I'd say not even talented graffiti artist. No.
- 8:02Speaker 5: um decided to start writing kurt loader everywhere yeah every
- 8:06Speaker 5: dumpster every wall downtown said kurt loader not even like
- 8:10Speaker 5: creatively done like a big block letter just written just
- 8:13Speaker 5: randomly written so yeah but just to continue on this
- 8:17Speaker 5: ridiculous train of thought All right, so where were we at?
- 8:22Speaker 5: So the witch scene. So, yeah, we get into this, like,
- 8:24Speaker 5: you know, several hundred years ago plot line, and you're
- 8:26Speaker 5: following it, and they're burning this witch, and then all
- 8:29Speaker 5: of a sudden it's the end, and we thought we
- 8:31Speaker 5: were done, but no such luck for you two.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Well, it was awesome, though. I was kind of like, yeah,
- 8:37Speaker 3: they're watching... The movie the guy has made.
- 8:40Speaker 6: Yep.
- 8:41Speaker 3: But yeah, that's kind of where I've just kind of
- 8:43Speaker 3: lost track of what the hell is going on. Like,
- 8:47Speaker 3: it just seemed like the death scene movie to me,
- 8:49Speaker 3: where it's just like... Pretty much, yeah. Kind of Final
- 8:54Speaker 3: Destination style. Sort of? Not as far as how the
- 9:00Speaker 3: deaths unfold, just kind of like, that's all it's about,
- 9:04Speaker 3: it seems like. It's about these people dying. And that's cool, but...
- 9:10Speaker 3: Pretty much. Like, what? Yeah. But the acting, while this
- 9:14Speaker 3: is happening, is golden because it's so terrible.
- 9:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 9:18Speaker 3: And things are happening that don't make sense at all.
- 9:21Speaker 3: The bathtub scene with the fully clothed... Do we want
- 9:26Speaker 3: to go ahead and get into that? Because that's like
- 9:27Speaker 3: a big major... Oh, anything. I mean, we can go anywhere.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I just jumped to that.
- 9:30Speaker 5: We can get to that one.
- 9:31Speaker 3: We can get to that, yeah.
- 9:33Speaker 5: But just as far as the overview, though, but it
- 9:35Speaker 5: really is. Like, the more I was watching it this time,
- 9:37Speaker 5: I was like, it's almost just like broken... death scenes
- 9:41Speaker 5: from any random horror movie. It's like they barely even
- 9:45Speaker 5: find a way to string them together. It's like they
- 9:48Speaker 5: don't follow any type. They don't follow any specific even
- 9:51Speaker 5: way of going about killing people. It's just it's almost
- 9:55Speaker 5: like the director had some like ideas that were like
- 9:58Speaker 5: started off He's sitting around with his friends going, wouldn't
- 10:01Speaker 5: it be weird if there was a.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Scene where like.
- 10:04Speaker 5: And then from there, enter every death scene that takes
- 10:07Speaker 5: place in this movie, especially the more supernatural ones. That's
- 10:11Speaker 5: where this gets confusing is because it sets it up.
- 10:15Speaker 5: And probably the first two thirds of this movie is
- 10:17Speaker 5: trying to be a giallo. It's trying to be a
- 10:19Speaker 5: giallo whodunit. And they give you this whole setup. It's
- 10:23Speaker 5: a killer, it's a killer, and we're looking for who
- 10:26Speaker 5: the killer is, and then midway through, well, it hits
- 10:30Speaker 5: that two-thirds in, and it throws those rules out the
- 10:32Speaker 5: window and goes back to the supernatural element, which was
- 10:35Speaker 5: introduced at the very beginning, but it's almost like they
- 10:39Speaker 5: strayed from that. it's like they were they were trying
- 10:42Speaker 5: to lead you down this other path of it's a
- 10:44Speaker 5: killer you know it's just somebody out there killing people
- 10:46Speaker 5: which i guess it was but they never really even
- 10:50Speaker 5: tie it back together in that angle at the end
- 10:54Speaker 5: it's yeah so.
- 10:57Speaker 8: Yeah they never my problem my main problems with this
- 11:00Speaker 8: movie number one The lady was.
- 11:03Speaker 7: A witch, but they don't explain what she did or
- 11:06Speaker 7: why they needed to burn her.
- 11:07Speaker 3: It doesn't matter. She was a witch.
- 11:08Speaker 7: Burn her!
- 11:09Speaker 3: She was obviously a witch.
- 11:11Speaker 5: Well, she was unattractive, and she screamed a lot. So
- 11:14Speaker 5: two for two, right there.
- 11:15Speaker 7: And she had an annoying laugh. She laughed like.
- 11:17Speaker 3: That's right, yeah.
- 11:19Speaker 7: That was her evil cackle.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Burn that bitch. Who was that man thing? Woman man thing?
- 11:27Speaker 3: The one that lived in the house?
- 11:30Speaker 7: She was my favorite part of the movie.
- 11:32Speaker 5: That I have to say, I'm thoroughly convinced. Have you
- 11:35Speaker 5: ever seen the Seinfeld where they go to L.A.? No.
- 11:38Speaker 5: Have you seen that one? Kramer takes off to L.A.
- 11:41Speaker 5: and he wants to be an actor and he's pursuing
- 11:42Speaker 5: his dream. The next week it carries over and Jerry
- 11:45Speaker 5: goes out there to do the Tonight Show or something
- 11:47Speaker 5: and he follows him. Well, they enter into this crazy
- 11:49Speaker 5: plot where there's a serial killer on the loose, and
- 11:53Speaker 5: they're thoroughly convinced that Kramer did it. The police think
- 11:57Speaker 5: it's him, and they put it on the news. So
- 11:59Speaker 5: what this is all leading to is I'm convinced that
- 12:02Speaker 5: Larry David was sitting down watching this on cable one
- 12:05Speaker 5: night because not only does some of that kind of
- 12:07Speaker 5: follow this basic idea, but when they go, he's staying
- 12:11Speaker 5: in this boarding house. there's this woman that's like dead
- 12:14Speaker 5: up that lady like she's like the prime TV version
- 12:17Speaker 5: she's not quite as scary and creepy and manly but
- 12:20Speaker 5: she's like a hundred years old tons of makeup caked
- 12:23Speaker 5: on and also thoroughly delusional that she was a star
- 12:27Speaker 5: like she's going on and on like she's dressed in
- 12:30Speaker 5: like a nightgown or something but she's you.
- 12:31Speaker 8: Know that's a pretty common character yeah.
- 12:34Speaker 5: Yeah definitely yes but this one's so close I'm just
- 12:37Speaker 5: like he had to have been sitting around watching this
- 12:39Speaker 5: at some point and went I want to steal that
- 12:41Speaker 5: that's funny so yeah and that one she's like talking
- 12:44Speaker 5: about making a movie with three stooges and then that's
- 12:46Speaker 5: like the last thing she made but she's still waiting
- 12:48Speaker 5: for her phone to ring every day and she's just
- 12:51Speaker 5: like you're too sensitive for this business they'll break you
- 12:55Speaker 5: and yeah so to me this this woman is dead
- 12:58Speaker 5: up exactly like that only scarier and way manlier.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Way way manlier oh.
- 13:07Speaker 5: Oh wow i want no more calls today okay appointment
- 13:11Speaker 5: with Sidney?
- 13:11Speaker 3: Yes, well, you can cancel that as well, can't you?
- 13:14Speaker 5: I've got some serious thinking to do.
- 13:16Speaker 13: Vis-a-vis?
- 13:19Speaker 3: Vis-a-vis, that sooner or later we're going to have to
- 13:21Speaker 3: tell the whole story.
- 13:22Speaker 5: Not that cocked-up version we told the police last night.
- 13:25Speaker 5: I thought you told everything. Oh, really? What about that
- 13:28Speaker 5: little incident with Anne and the sword?
- 13:30Speaker 3: Why on earth should they be interested in that?
- 13:33Speaker 5: Doesn't it interest you? First that happens, then we find
- 13:37Speaker 5: Carol's body. Jesus, do you know what you're saying?
- 13:40Speaker 13: I'm going to have to talk to her.
- 13:44Speaker 5: James, what's the matter with you? Why on earth should
- 13:47Speaker 5: she want to kill Carol?
- 13:48Speaker 4: Well, why on earth should she want to kill me?
- 13:51Speaker 5: No reason at all.
- 13:52Speaker 3: I mean, I can't really say that much about this
- 13:55Speaker 3: film just because it's so bizarre. That's my favorite part, actually.
- 13:59Speaker 5: As it went on, I was like, it's such a
- 14:02Speaker 5: mess that that's almost its selling point.
- 14:04Speaker 3: It's a train wreck.
- 14:06Speaker 7: I mean, it's not like... Let's clarify.
- 14:09Speaker 8: It's not one of those movies that are hard to
- 14:11Speaker 8: follow because it's such an intricate plot line.
- 14:14Speaker 5: It just genuinely.
- 14:16Speaker 8: Does not really make that much sense. I think the
- 14:20Speaker 8: director was probably drunk.
- 14:23Speaker 5: He's made a lot of movies, though. He's actually... Drunk.
- 14:27Speaker 5: There's a poster on the wall of one of his
- 14:28Speaker 5: movies right before this. He's done a good amount of them,
- 14:31Speaker 5: and they're all sort of these horror movies. These, like,
- 14:34Speaker 5: cheaply done, you know, horror movies.
- 14:35Speaker 7: What about the taco shack poster?
- 14:37Speaker 5: I'm not sure why. Yeah, in the middle of this
- 14:40Speaker 5: movie shoot that they're doing, there's a taco shack poster
- 14:43Speaker 5: on the wall. Even a movie puts a taco shack
- 14:46Speaker 5: poster in their bathroom. That's a little too on the nose, really,
- 14:50Speaker 5: don't you think? So.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Do you want to talk about the film?
- 14:54Speaker 5: This guy, our main character, I guess, if you will,
- 14:58Speaker 5: aside from the lead crazy chick. But there's two main,
- 15:00Speaker 5: the two leftover heirs of this family that has been
- 15:04Speaker 5: cursed in the movie we see in the beginning. He's
- 15:07Speaker 5: a rich dude. I guess we're calling him a film producer, probably.
- 15:11Speaker 5: Maybe director. They never really go into it, but he
- 15:13Speaker 5: owns the studio.
- 15:14Speaker 8: Wow.
- 15:15Speaker 5: So they make a couple of trips during the movie
- 15:18Speaker 5: to this studio, one of them, well, two of which
- 15:21Speaker 5: is while they're shooting a movie called Bathtime with Brenda.
- 15:25Speaker 7: Okay, now, from the top. Well, here we are in
- 15:28Speaker 7: the bathroom. Why don't I run some water?
- 15:32Speaker 3: But I've just washed my hands.
- 15:35Speaker 7: You just washed your hands? It's not your hands I'm
- 15:38Speaker 7: bothered about. Giggle, giggle, giggle.
- 15:42Speaker 5: Are you that.
- 15:44Speaker 7: Are you Auburn all the way down? You'll soon find out.
- 15:48Speaker 3: And into the bath.
- 15:50Speaker 7: Into the bath.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Would you guys like to elaborate on bath time with Brenda?
- 15:55Speaker 3: Bath time with Brenda. Worst porn ever.
- 15:58Speaker 5: Yeah, worst porn ever, but at the same time, I
- 16:00Speaker 5: really want to see this movie now.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Because Brenda wears a bra and panties while she's in
- 16:05Speaker 3: the bath. Apparently giving the dude the worst handjob ever.
- 16:09Speaker 5: Well, it's just sort of a sponge bath in the tub.
- 16:12Speaker 3: In the tub. Which makes no sense.
- 16:15Speaker 5: And he's wearing jeans.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got jeans on.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Which, you know, it's always hottest when you're wearing jeans
- 16:20Speaker 5: in the tub.
- 16:22Speaker 7: Yeah, he was so not into it at all.
- 16:25Speaker 3: I was so not into that part at all.
- 16:27Speaker 5: But she's hilarious because she's doing, like, her acting is
- 16:31Speaker 5: to say the stage direction, basically. She says, giggle, giggle, giggle,
- 16:36Speaker 5: and when it's time for her to strip down, she says, strip, strip, strip.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I'm sorry, that's funny. God.
- 16:43Speaker 5: She's so dumb. Yeah. Oh, but they work it to
- 16:48Speaker 5: their advantage in that scene.
- 16:50Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I mean, it almost comes off as she's not acting
- 16:54Speaker 3: that she's dumb. She's just really that dumb.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Well, we'll get to that in a minute. She is
- 16:59Speaker 5: our little bonus material on this episode.
- 17:02Speaker 3: It's a pretty good death scene, too, I'll say. It
- 17:05Speaker 3: made no sense.
- 17:06Speaker 7: Everyone in this movie fell badly. Like, everyone fell, and
- 17:09Speaker 7: it was like the most ridiculous fall. It was like
- 17:12Speaker 7: a three stooges kind of fall. And they could not
- 17:15Speaker 7: get up, no matter what.
- 17:16Speaker 5: Like.
- 17:17Speaker 7: Well, there was that.
- 17:18Speaker 5: Crazy witch wind blowing.
- 17:19Speaker 3: It was blowing me around.
- 17:23Speaker 7: Even then, there wasn't a crazy witch wind.
- 17:24Speaker 3: People were just falling.
- 17:25Speaker 5: Some people just randomly fell.
- 17:27Speaker 3: They were just so befuddled that they just couldn't stand upright.
- 17:32Speaker 7: It's so ridiculous.
- 17:33Speaker 2: God.
- 17:34Speaker 3: It's awesome. the dude with the car he just did
- 17:37Speaker 3: he just fall or he just yeah.
- 17:38Speaker 7: There was no which one he was.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Just like rolling around which one the cop yeah the
- 17:44Speaker 3: cop see.
- 17:44Speaker 5: Then okay late in we get a car kill but
- 17:47Speaker 5: to me again.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I wonder at two miles an hour yeah well it's.
- 17:53Speaker 5: Bad enough that he's a cop he should know better
- 17:55Speaker 5: it's also his own car killing him but we do
- 17:58Speaker 5: have a possessed car killing him so once again i
- 18:00Speaker 5: say was stephen king watching this at some point one
- 18:04Speaker 5: of two possessions it's um yeah because it's before christine
- 18:08Speaker 5: it's before he even wrote.
- 18:09Speaker 8: Christine no i don't think so there was a movie
- 18:12Speaker 8: made i think earlier than this called the car Yeah,
- 18:15Speaker 8: it was a possessed black man.
- 18:18Speaker 5: I was trying to remember how many different possessed car
- 18:20Speaker 5: movies there were, but this was definitely before Christine came along,
- 18:23Speaker 5: so I don't know. But once again, we get a
- 18:27Speaker 5: very slow motion version of Christine killing someone. But then
- 18:31Speaker 5: the car runs over him a couple times. That's kind
- 18:34Speaker 5: of fun.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Yeah. That's the one thing I was just hilarious. That
- 18:37Speaker 3: part was just funnier than anything. Like, oh my God,
- 18:40Speaker 3: it was just awesome.
- 18:41Speaker 5: Yeah. well that's the thing i'll give this movie the
- 18:44Speaker 5: you know it's it's got good kills yeah oh yeah
- 18:47Speaker 5: since that's all there are it's like you're going into
- 18:50Speaker 5: it for this you know for the fun of it well.
- 18:53Speaker 3: And the quirkiness of how people act as they're being
- 18:55Speaker 3: killed it's like so not natural so just it reminds me.
- 19:00Speaker 7: Of paul rubin's death scene in buffy the vampire.
- 19:02Speaker 5: Yeah it wishes it was that awesome That's the best
- 19:06Speaker 5: destiny ever.
- 19:06Speaker 3: It's like the cop sticking his tongue out as he's like,
- 19:09Speaker 3: it's like sliding down the windshield or whatever. Like, what?
- 19:13Speaker 3: He was like licking the windshield wiper. At first I
- 19:16Speaker 3: didn't understand why he was doing that. Like, how is
- 19:20Speaker 3: that a natural occurrence when you're getting run over at
- 19:22Speaker 3: two miles an hour? You don't have the wherewithal to
- 19:25Speaker 3: get out of the way of this car.
- 19:28Speaker 5: It's a weird setup along the way. It's got, like,
- 19:31Speaker 5: this midway point. Like, it's kind of slow setup in
- 19:33Speaker 5: the beginning. Like, well, we get the weird movie backstory
- 19:37Speaker 5: slash movie. Could be both. Kind of is both, functionally.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Kind of.
- 19:42Speaker 5: So, we get that, but then it hits, like, the middle, like,
- 19:45Speaker 5: 20 minutes, where it does... It does a couple... I mean,
- 19:47Speaker 5: you get one murder, I think, at that point, but...
- 19:50Speaker 5: even then it's like the next two times we've got
- 19:52Speaker 5: somebody that's going to get killed or thinks they're going
- 19:54Speaker 5: to get killed it enters into this really long set
- 19:57Speaker 5: up Like there's the girl out in the woods, the
- 20:00Speaker 5: girl in the white in the beginning.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:01Speaker 5: That's like 10 minutes of her running through the woods
- 20:04Speaker 5: and hiding in the barn and looking for somebody and
- 20:08Speaker 5: thinking she's safe and coming back.
- 20:09Speaker 3: I mean, it just, it goes on for so long.
- 20:11Speaker 3: To where it's, I'm kind of lost as to like
- 20:14Speaker 3: really what is going on.
- 20:16Speaker 5: Is there even anybody out there chasing her at this point?
- 20:18Speaker 5: Because they would have gotten bored and gone home at
- 20:20Speaker 5: this point. Well, and then the same thing. Once the girl, like,
- 20:23Speaker 5: we fast forward about 15 minutes, and then the girl's, like,
- 20:26Speaker 5: going on that car trip to see her parents, and
- 20:28Speaker 5: then her car breaks down. And then we enter into
- 20:30Speaker 5: this getting out and checking the car, walking up to
- 20:33Speaker 5: try to get to the house, looking around, trying to
- 20:35Speaker 5: get in the house. And it's another, like, it goes
- 20:37Speaker 5: on forever. Forever. And I'm like, is this just filler moments? Like,
- 20:42Speaker 5: they really, like, they didn't have anything else to come
- 20:44Speaker 5: up with dialogue-wise. They're like, just walk around the house
- 20:47Speaker 5: some more.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Just look for another door. That's good, yeah. Look for
- 20:49Speaker 3: another door. Just look around the corner, all right? Walk
- 20:53Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 20:53Speaker 5: Like... So that leads us to our, you know, our
- 20:57Speaker 5: star-studded cameo from Mr. Peter Mayhew, who is, once again,
- 21:02Speaker 5: they make use of him.
- 21:03Speaker 6: He is.
- 21:04Speaker 5: just lumbers around he's big and creepy but it gives
- 21:07Speaker 5: you what is probably the best fake out in this
- 21:10Speaker 5: movie because it really does set it up like here.
- 21:12Speaker 3: He comes this crazy maniac.
- 21:14Speaker 5: And he's like you call for a mechanic that's like the.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Viper type deal yeah the viper just hit a viper
- 21:22Speaker 3: windows and go home okay so.
- 21:25Speaker 5: Wow there's an odd reference yeah what's sad is I
- 21:29Speaker 5: got it yeah nice if you got it you're a
- 21:32Speaker 5: geek so Yeah, but it does pull that. So then
- 21:35Speaker 5: at the end, he's just a mechanic that she called
- 21:38Speaker 5: herself to come get her broken down car.
- 21:41Speaker 3: And he doesn't die. He actually just dies off. And yeah,
- 21:45Speaker 3: he helps her and takes the car off.
- 21:47Speaker 5: So yeah, he's not really a satanic mechanic as I
- 21:51Speaker 5: expected him to be.
- 21:52Speaker 3: It's been awesome. that's awesome yeah.
- 21:56Speaker 5: But no i expected uh yeah i kind of expected
- 21:59Speaker 5: a little different scene because she's the one he sort
- 22:01Speaker 5: of rescues her and then like she sort of makes
- 22:03Speaker 5: it out of the rest of this like so they
- 22:05Speaker 5: spend this like 15 minute period of setting up her
- 22:07Speaker 5: kill and there is no kill for her and that's
- 22:10Speaker 5: that again from that point on the movie like sort
- 22:13Speaker 5: of revels in the fake outs like you get the
- 22:15Speaker 5: big scene with the non-satanic mechanic And then you get
- 22:19Speaker 5: the paint can. The paint can is a total like
- 22:21Speaker 5: another like five plus minute fake out of like.
- 22:25Speaker 3: There's blood leaking through the ceiling. It's just paint.
- 22:32Speaker 5: More kills.
- 22:32Speaker 3: And then I guess it was a floating knife that
- 22:36Speaker 3: just stabbed her all over and over again.
- 22:38Speaker 5: Once again, now in the middle, at that point, we're
- 22:41Speaker 5: still going along with it's a killer, it's a killer.
- 22:42Speaker 5: So you're like, well, how the hell did this person,
- 22:45Speaker 5: because it's.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Just like stabbing. At that angle. Yeah, like everywhere.
- 22:47Speaker 5: At different angles, but then it's stabbing through her face.
- 22:49Speaker 5: foot and i'm.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Just like what is like what is going on and
- 22:52Speaker 3: so that's yeah i get lost in that respect to
- 22:55Speaker 3: where yeah is it just all supernatural is.
- 22:57Speaker 5: There but by the end yeah i i guess we're gonna.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Assume it's all supernatural.
- 23:02Speaker 5: So if that's the case then i guess it could
- 23:04Speaker 5: have just been a floating knife i know but there's
- 23:06Speaker 5: like other points where they actually show A person. Like,
- 23:10Speaker 5: when the Greek gets killed, Phil the Greek gets taken out,
- 23:13Speaker 5: which is a pervy dude that comes to their little club.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Really pervy.
- 23:17Speaker 8: Which.
- 23:17Speaker 3: He's grody pervy.
- 23:18Speaker 5: Like, God. We'll jump back to that in a minute. But, yeah,
- 23:21Speaker 5: when Phil the Greek gets killed, it shows, like, a
- 23:23Speaker 5: close-up of, like, the killer's lips. Yeah. And, like.
- 23:26Speaker 3: So where is this killer?
- 23:28Speaker 5: If it's supernatural, how is it we're seeing this mysterious
- 23:31Speaker 5: killer if there is no mysterious killer?
- 23:34Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 23:34Speaker 5: It's like it doesn't know what it wants to be.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Exactly. It's just like so everywhere.
- 23:40Speaker 5: Terror terror it's like a it's like a british director
- 23:46Speaker 5: that watched a lot of giallos and was like i
- 23:49Speaker 5: kind of like these i want to do something like
- 23:50Speaker 5: this and then went to london and you know or
- 23:53Speaker 5: wherever the hell they were they were in england so
- 23:55Speaker 5: yeah it's in england just shooting random death scenes and
- 23:59Speaker 5: sort of piecing it together with a basic you know string.
- 24:02Speaker 3: String plot line plot.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Line To sort of take you through this story, but yeah,
- 24:08Speaker 5: a lot of the elements along the way just don't
- 24:11Speaker 5: add up by the time you get to the end.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Gosh. oh man and it ends like abruptly too it's
- 24:17Speaker 3: just kind of like oh yeah it's over well i like.
- 24:22Speaker 5: When we got the fill we forgot to go into
- 24:24Speaker 5: the uh the club that they work at so do
- 24:26Speaker 5: you want to go into the club.
- 24:28Speaker 11: Or more for it no you go there all right
- 24:32Speaker 11: um i can't decide if i guess we're supposed to
- 24:35Speaker 11: assume that what he had on his shirt was the
- 24:37Speaker 11: name of the place Because I had to write it
- 24:39Speaker 11: down to remember because it was fucking hilarious anyway because
- 24:41Speaker 11: I want a shirt that says this.
- 24:43Speaker 5: The bartender's wearing a shirt that says Moonshine Goat Herd.
- 24:47Speaker 3: I don't know what that is. That's what it says.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Moonshine Goat Herd.
- 24:53Speaker 5: I'm like, okay. So we'll assume that's the place. I
- 24:57Speaker 5: don't really know, but I kind of want that shirt.
- 24:58Speaker 3: This is a far cry from the slaughtered lamb. Yeah,
- 25:00Speaker 3: but still, it's cool. I want that shirt regardless.
- 25:03Speaker 5: So if we're at the Moonshine Goat Herd, yeah, it's
- 25:07Speaker 5: basically some tables and chairs and a bar. Now we
- 25:10Speaker 5: get sort of a strip show. Not sort of.
- 25:13Speaker 3: It's a full-on live nude girl. With no stage. With
- 25:18Speaker 3: no stage. In the middle of the, like if they
- 25:20Speaker 3: were to move tables aside. Let's make room for this
- 25:23Speaker 3: naked girl coming out.
- 25:24Speaker 12: Come on now.
- 25:24Speaker 3: This naked man.
- 25:25Speaker 5: Well, and then we get into this girl.
- 25:26Speaker 3: And I swear to God, I thought at one point,
- 25:28Speaker 3: I thought something was wagging between her legs. I thought
- 25:31Speaker 3: she had junk. I'm still questioning it.
- 25:33Speaker 5: This i believe marlena you said it was the anilinic
- 25:36Speaker 5: stripper um yeah yeah she's she did yeah she's got
- 25:39Speaker 5: the blonde buzz cut and she's wild makeup she's yeah
- 25:44Speaker 5: scary like.
- 25:45Speaker 3: She's like eating she's eating the microphone like a court
- 25:49Speaker 3: of the cob or licking it right.
- 25:51Speaker 5: She was a whip yeah she's working a whip the
- 25:53Speaker 5: whole time and then she's sometimes she is working the
- 25:55Speaker 5: whip and.
- 25:56Speaker 3: It's yeah it's.
- 25:58Speaker 5: She makes Annie Lennox look feminine, really. That was the
- 26:02Speaker 5: scariest chick I've seen in quite a while. But she
- 26:06Speaker 5: was there to be naked. I'm guessing she really just
- 26:09Speaker 5: was a stripper that they found. Because you'll notice, she's
- 26:11Speaker 5: the only nudity in the whole damn movie. In a
- 26:13Speaker 5: movie that's very hard R, tons of kills, lots of
- 26:18Speaker 5: other sort of.
- 26:19Speaker 3: well and there's scantily cladness in there but i'm assuming
- 26:23Speaker 3: the other actresses didn't want to get naked so they
- 26:25Speaker 3: were like let's just go hire a stripper and have
- 26:27Speaker 3: a strip scene so we can say.
- 26:28Speaker 5: Look we've got nudity yeah i was gonna say look
- 26:31Speaker 5: we've got boobs but no it's full on naked yeah
- 26:33Speaker 5: she's just naked writhing on the floor.
- 26:37Speaker 3: But it's not all that great, mind you, so don't
- 26:39Speaker 3: get excited.
- 26:40Speaker 5: Yeah, that seems like it would be a good thing,
- 26:42Speaker 5: but then when you see this girl, you'll change your mind.
- 26:44Speaker 5: More than likely. Actually, there's one or two of you
- 26:46Speaker 5: might like it more, but for me, I was not sold.
- 26:49Speaker 3: On her in general. Scary.
- 26:52Speaker 5: I have two messages for you at the hostel. Why
- 26:55Speaker 5: didn't you call me?
- 26:56Speaker 6: You've got to talk.
- 27:01Speaker 7: What do you want to talk about?
- 27:06Speaker 5: About that night at the house.
- 27:09Speaker 7: I don't want to discuss that.
- 27:15Speaker 5: You've got to tell me what happened before it's too late.
- 27:18Speaker 5: Too late for what?
- 27:21Speaker 11: I don't know what you're talking about.
- 27:24Speaker 5: So if you don't mind, I've got work to do.
- 27:25Speaker 5: What else do we... There's so many things. Well, how about... Okay,
- 27:30Speaker 5: we cross over into the supernatural world. So then we've
- 27:34Speaker 5: got the guy that kind of runs the studio there,
- 27:37Speaker 5: and he's closing up shop that night, and it's time
- 27:40Speaker 5: for his scene. Things just randomly, and this is where
- 27:43Speaker 5: it sort of crosses the line. It's like, up until then,
- 27:45Speaker 5: we've got killer doing it, killer doing it. Like, you've got,
- 27:48Speaker 5: I was trying to keep track, and it's like, all
- 27:50Speaker 5: the early ones are, like, pretty much just like somebody,
- 27:54Speaker 5: some knife-wielding maniac comes up and stabs them and kills them.
- 27:56Speaker 3: But then it almost seems like it's kind of the
- 27:58Speaker 3: Carrie aspect, where it's like, it seems like that dude
- 28:00Speaker 3: is making things happen.
- 28:02Speaker 5: Kind of, yeah. Especially, actually, the scene before that, when
- 28:05Speaker 5: the director's shooting the bath time for Brenda gets fucking
- 28:09Speaker 5: crushed by a light.
- 28:10Speaker 3: By the lights. And he's flailing like... It's burning him.
- 28:14Speaker 3: It's burning him. It's not burning him. It fucking crushed
- 28:16Speaker 3: his head.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Like it just took out his head like a fucking donut.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Don't worry about it burning him. yeah so oh sorry
- 28:24Speaker 3: i was the the the death scene of the.
- 28:26Speaker 5: So then that yeah so i mean but that's sort
- 28:28Speaker 5: of the first inkling we get of like the psychic
- 28:30Speaker 5: thing because there's just like a light hanging over him
- 28:33Speaker 5: and the rope sort of starts untying itself but the
- 28:36Speaker 5: our main dude's staring at it the whole time yeah
- 28:38Speaker 5: like maybe he's willing it to happen yeah but again
- 28:42Speaker 5: that one's so like vague that it could kind of
- 28:45Speaker 5: been well the drop just you know you know it
- 28:47Speaker 5: untied itself eventually we'll do that yeah you tie a
- 28:51Speaker 5: big heavy light to it sooner or later it'll fall
- 28:53Speaker 5: down work its way out so it's possible that could
- 28:55Speaker 5: still be a normal occurrence an accident but um yeah
- 28:59Speaker 5: by the time we get to the the studio guy
- 29:02Speaker 5: getting taken out Shit just starts happening.
- 29:04Speaker 3: It's flying everywhere. Like, yeah, shit's coming off the wall.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Flames are exploding in the bathtub. He's being just enveloped
- 29:14Speaker 3: in this film tornado. My favorite before that, though, is right.
- 29:18Speaker 5: I think it's right before the flames in the bathtub.
- 29:20Speaker 5: Right when shit starts throwing itself at him, there's like
- 29:23Speaker 5: a rain of spoons behind him.
- 29:27Speaker 3: Is that what that was? I think so. I almost
- 29:29Speaker 3: thought it was like a giant slinky unraveling. It looked like.
- 29:33Speaker 5: 400 spoons being dumped behind his head.
- 29:36Speaker 3: It made no sense.
- 29:38Speaker 5: And why are there spoons A and B? a bathroom
- 29:40Speaker 5: or b in a movie studio that many yeah like
- 29:43Speaker 5: why are there all these spoons that.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Was my favorite that was confusing because it was like
- 29:49Speaker 3: what is going on but yeah then he gets sucked
- 29:52Speaker 3: up and there's like film reels flying around but then
- 29:54Speaker 3: the entire ball of film which by the way i
- 29:57Speaker 3: know what movie that is oh what If you look
- 29:59Speaker 3: on IMDb, that was seven damaged copies of Saturday Night Fever.
- 30:03Speaker 5: Uh-oh. The studio actually let them have damaged copies that
- 30:07Speaker 5: they had laying around. So those are all Saturday Night
- 30:09Speaker 5: Fever that he's rolling around being attacked by.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Sapped up in.
- 30:12Speaker 5: Which I like that part.
- 30:13Speaker 3: That's cool. That's really cool.
- 30:15Speaker 7: I thought he was going to catch on fire with
- 30:17Speaker 7: the flaming cup.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it seemed like that.
- 30:19Speaker 7: So highly flammable.
- 30:20Speaker 5: But I figured he was... I kind of liked it.
- 30:22Speaker 5: It was like the blob if it were made out
- 30:24Speaker 5: of celluloid. It was like kind of... eating him at
- 30:26Speaker 5: that point. That was awesome. But then he escapes, so
- 30:29Speaker 5: it kind of kills that part. And then he falls
- 30:32Speaker 5: down the stairs. Come on, Marlene. He's falling.
- 30:36Speaker 11: Oh, yeah.
- 30:36Speaker 7: That part was.
- 30:38Speaker 5: And then we get a window decapitation just to totally
- 30:41Speaker 5: ruin it, which that part is pretty awesome.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Yeah, but random.
- 30:44Speaker 5: Again, the setups are cool. When you come to that scene,
- 30:47Speaker 5: it's shot really well. Again, it makes no sense continuity-wise
- 30:51Speaker 5: because his arm was in the way. But then when
- 30:53Speaker 5: you get that shot of discovering him, it's really well
- 30:56Speaker 5: put together. And it zooms in the window and goes
- 30:59Speaker 5: to the phone. There's moments of it that are well
- 31:02Speaker 5: put together. And then in the middle of this big
- 31:06Speaker 5: mixed-up mess, I don't know.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Oh i just kind of spent my wad it's just
- 31:14Speaker 3: it's just random death scenes the kooky wacky fun bizarre
- 31:21Speaker 3: nonsensicalness yeah it didn't make no cohesion really uh kind
- 31:26Speaker 3: of like Paint-by-numbers, choose-your-own-adventure type movie style.
- 31:32Speaker 11: Kind of.
- 31:32Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 31:34Speaker 5: That's the thing. If you like 70s slasher slash supernatural
- 31:39Speaker 5: as you get into it, but the bulk of it
- 31:41Speaker 5: is a slasher movie, so if you like those cheesy,
- 31:44Speaker 5: low-budget slasher movies from the 70s, this looks like one
- 31:48Speaker 5: of those movies. It plays like one of those movies
- 31:50Speaker 5: until you get to the weird, wacky ending.
- 31:51Speaker 3: This is something that I could see on... On the
- 31:55Speaker 3: wall in the background of some, like, art house. Like,
- 31:58Speaker 3: everyone's just too cool for school. Like, drinking their drinks
- 32:01Speaker 3: and hanging out. And on the wall is this.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Like, just with no sound. Just completely, like, gone.
- 32:06Speaker 5: Dude, why in that place?
- 32:07Speaker 13: I want to go there.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Yeah, seriously. It'd be awesome. Definitely in that capacity, you know?
- 32:11Speaker 8: I was somewhere once. Speaking of that, it was, like,
- 32:13Speaker 8: some weird art show. And there was this movie on
- 32:16Speaker 8: the wall.
- 32:17Speaker 6: And.
- 32:18Speaker 8: There was, like, it was kind of like a love scene,
- 32:20Speaker 8: but there was a guy in, like, gold lame speedos.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 32:23Speaker 7: And then there was a tiger. It was really weird.
- 32:26Speaker 4: Wow.
- 32:26Speaker 7: If someone knows what movie this is, let me know,
- 32:28Speaker 7: because I just.
- 32:30Speaker 5: Remember watching it and thinking, what the fuck is this? Well,
- 32:32Speaker 5: the first I found sounds like Rocky in the gold
- 32:34Speaker 5: lame speedos, but there's no tiger in Rocky.
- 32:37Speaker 3: There's a tiger.
- 32:39Speaker 7: No, it wasn't Rocky Horror Picture Show. I've seen it
- 32:41Speaker 7: enough times to know.
- 32:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I know. I knew you would know. But it's funny. Like,
- 32:44Speaker 5: where else would you get Gold Lame Speedos? I don't know.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Obviously somebody else did.
- 32:49Speaker 8: It was made in the 70s, but there was like
- 32:51Speaker 8: a Tiger and Gold Lame Speedos. So if anyone, this,
- 32:55Speaker 8: you know, you know what movie this is, let me know.
- 32:58Speaker 5: Sounds like a challenge to me. Oh, man.
- 33:01Speaker 8: So, yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:04Speaker 3: There's not much more I can say about this, Brian.
- 33:06Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 33:06Speaker 5: Well, that's what it is. I think if you like
- 33:09Speaker 5: those kind of movies, it's actually kind of fun. And
- 33:12Speaker 5: the more I thought about it, it's actually that's what
- 33:15Speaker 5: works best about it really is like that's what it
- 33:17Speaker 5: was set up to be. You know, it wasn't ever
- 33:20Speaker 5: meant to be some sort of, you know, really intelligently
- 33:23Speaker 5: put together plot line.
- 33:25Speaker 3: I mean.
- 33:26Speaker 5: This was like 78 and it was made by a
- 33:28Speaker 5: guy who just made these kind of horror movies. So
- 33:31Speaker 5: watching it, I'm like, this is just something you'd be like,
- 33:33Speaker 5: get together with your friends, be like, hey, let's go
- 33:35Speaker 5: see a movie and have fun. And that's what reading
- 33:39Speaker 5: it said had listed that this made more money than
- 33:41Speaker 5: any other film that was showing during that week in
- 33:44Speaker 5: its UK release. So it was the big movie of
- 33:47Speaker 5: the moment. It's like when Final Destination comes out now
- 33:49Speaker 5: and everybody's like, hey, let's go see a stupid horror movie.
- 33:52Speaker 3: I mean, this isn't any worse than the Final Destination.
- 33:55Speaker 7: When are they going to remake this one, though.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Is what I'm wondering. See, you say that, now it'll happen.
- 33:59Speaker 5: We just had that with, that's what, yeah, I don't think, yeah,
- 34:02Speaker 5: Misty said that the other day because we joked during
- 34:04Speaker 5: Deadly Friend that they were going to remake that. We
- 34:07Speaker 5: found something online saying it's in the works. I don't
- 34:10Speaker 5: think it's greenlit at this point but there's somebody out
- 34:12Speaker 5: there pitching a remake I.
- 34:13Speaker 14: Don't think I've ever seen it oh god we'll watch
- 34:17Speaker 14: it I don't even know how to begin there's robots
- 34:22Speaker 14: and dead girls oh lord.
- 34:25Speaker 5: But yeah, to me, that's all it is. It's just
- 34:27Speaker 5: one of those kind of movies. It's just like, hey,
- 34:29Speaker 5: let's go have fun and watch people get killed. So
- 34:31Speaker 5: that's kind of how this operates, if you're into that.
- 34:34Speaker 5: I mean, it's definitely oddly uneven in its type of kills.
- 34:39Speaker 3: As it goes on, the.
- 34:41Speaker 5: The psychic phenomenon elements, it totally blows the mystery element.
- 34:45Speaker 5: It's like it almost needed to pick which one it
- 34:47Speaker 5: wanted to be. Either it wants to be a giallo
- 34:49Speaker 5: and it wants to have a murderer. And in the end,
- 34:52Speaker 5: we're like, oh, it was the creepy old lady from
- 34:54Speaker 5: the house. Or it was the man who runs the
- 34:57Speaker 5: haunted amusement park. You know, have some sort of reveal
- 34:59Speaker 5: at the end. But we don't get that because then
- 35:02Speaker 5: it switches gears to the supernatural end. Or it should
- 35:05Speaker 5: have just been that the whole way. And we had
- 35:06Speaker 5: like creepy... supernatural things going on in the beginning but
- 35:10Speaker 5: yeah we get this weird mesh of the two so
- 35:14Speaker 5: yeah that that makes it a very odd movie to
- 35:16Speaker 5: watch but um otherwise i think it's it's relatively fun
- 35:20Speaker 5: if you like cheesy horror it's yeah it's worth a
- 35:23Speaker 5: viewing i don't know if i'd sit down and watch
- 35:24Speaker 5: it every week i'll give.
- 35:25Speaker 3: It that oh god i'll definitely give.
- 35:28Speaker 5: It a viewing it's definitely uh it's fun enough to
- 35:31Speaker 5: sit down with your friends and laugh at when they
- 35:33Speaker 5: get the bath time for rent yes.
- 35:36Speaker 7: Have you looked up Bath Time for Brenda?
- 35:38Speaker 3: Are you sure?
- 35:39Speaker 5: I hope it is a movie. Well, actually, as we
- 35:41Speaker 5: get into our next little development here, we might not
- 35:43Speaker 5: want to see it once. The more we learn about Viv,
- 35:46Speaker 5: I believe her name was. Wasn't that the redheads?
- 35:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:50Speaker 5: That crazy ass bitch.
- 35:53Speaker 3: But yeah, you were asking about face.
- 35:56Speaker 5: She gets worse as time goes on, by the way. Roger,
- 36:00Speaker 5: you were asking about the bouncer because the bouncer shows up.
- 36:02Speaker 5: He's like he looks like he's like a Terminator character
- 36:05Speaker 5: from a sci fi movie.
- 36:06Speaker 3: He's bald.
- 36:07Speaker 5: He's got these big glasses on.
- 36:09Speaker 3: He's all in black.
- 36:10Speaker 5: I'm like, what movie did this guy come out of?
- 36:13Speaker 15: He totally doesn't even fit he doesn't really but i
- 36:16Speaker 15: guess it was just like they're a little you know
- 36:18Speaker 15: kind of a tip of the hat to this guy
- 36:20Speaker 15: because he's uh his name's milton reed and he's uh
- 36:24Speaker 15: he's actually been in a ton of of old horror
- 36:26Speaker 15: movies he's in like blood of the vampire he's in
- 36:29Speaker 15: dr fives rises again.
- 36:30Speaker 3: He's in blood the vampire he's in.
- 36:32Speaker 5: Captain flag he's in terror terror of the tongues he's
- 36:35Speaker 5: in blood on satan's claw he's in like all these
- 36:37Speaker 5: old horror movies so yeah that's that's why i guess
- 36:40Speaker 5: we get that little it's another cameo of him but
- 36:43Speaker 5: like interesting people of this day and age probably don't
- 36:45Speaker 5: know that you know he's supposed to be a cameo this.
- 36:48Speaker 8: Could have definitely been like a mystery science theater movie yeah.
- 36:51Speaker 5: It kind of was but i think we were too
- 36:54Speaker 5: i was just.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Dumbfounded yeah to even come up with any what oh
- 36:58Speaker 3: lord so.
- 37:01Speaker 5: Before we totally get out of it, we sort of
- 37:04Speaker 5: got a two cents in. Not officially, because usually I
- 37:07Speaker 5: just go with the emails. And if he wants to
- 37:09Speaker 5: still write in, he or she, I'm not really sure actually.
- 37:12Speaker 5: But they can still write in because I got a
- 37:15Speaker 5: response on Twitter. And normally I don't put too much
- 37:18Speaker 5: into those. I just kind of pass that along. But
- 37:20Speaker 5: this time it led to... A whole new discovery that
- 37:23Speaker 5: I want to go into. So, yeah, we did get,
- 37:26Speaker 5: I guess it's time for your two cents on terror.
- 37:29Speaker 5: And this was actually from Nautas on Twitter.
- 37:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 37:32Speaker 5: And they got a hold of us and had some
- 37:33Speaker 5: interesting comments. One was just, I've seen terror. They refer
- 37:37Speaker 5: to it as a bit silly, a clumsy mash of
- 37:40Speaker 5: possession with creative deaths and slasher movies of the time.
- 37:44Speaker 5: And okay for review, which we kind of agree. They
- 37:47Speaker 5: say they actually prefer the same director who did Satan's Slave,
- 37:51Speaker 5: which kind of also skipped a big happy ending. This
- 37:54Speaker 5: one just sort of ends on a pretty grim note. Although, actually,
- 37:58Speaker 5: that part's awesome. When she gets stabbed, that shot of
- 38:00Speaker 5: her flying back at the wall, that is awesome.
- 38:03Speaker 3: That's great. Green light.
- 38:05Speaker 5: That's fucking awesome. again there's moments in this that are
- 38:08Speaker 5: genius but it's a big old mess around you.
- 38:11Speaker 3: Definitely have to pay attention because they'll miss it like that.
- 38:14Speaker 5: Or there's the shot of her like when she's just
- 38:15Speaker 5: swinging the axe and like they set up the shot
- 38:18Speaker 5: where there's like this big lamp in the front of
- 38:20Speaker 5: the shot and then she's swinging the axe over there
- 38:22Speaker 5: and by the end she whips up to the front
- 38:24Speaker 5: of the scene and like and knocks the lamp out
- 38:26Speaker 5: right from in front of the screen so it's like
- 38:28Speaker 5: it was good blocking it's like there's a lot of
- 38:30Speaker 5: really creative stuff mixed into this big old mess so
- 38:33Speaker 5: back to these comments so the the final one and
- 38:37Speaker 5: the one that became what i think will be kind
- 38:39Speaker 5: of important to where we're going here uh it says
- 38:42Speaker 5: also the sole movie role of trisha walsh smith the
- 38:46Speaker 5: batshit crazy youtube star they say google pineapple dance studio
- 38:51Speaker 5: and her name All right, guys. I think we're going
- 38:54Speaker 5: to have to take a moment to watch some... Pineapple
- 38:58Speaker 5: Dance Theater? Some Trisha Walsh. Now, let me make sure
- 39:03Speaker 5: we're crediting her as the right person. I think she
- 39:05Speaker 5: was Viv. She was. Was she?
- 39:07Speaker 7: Yeah, me.
- 39:09Speaker 5: Because, yeah, once he said that, I had to bring up.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Lord.
- 39:14Speaker 5: Can you see?
- 39:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:18Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Hi, it's Tricia again, and I'm in New York.
- 39:25Speaker 5: I should be in London.
- 39:28Speaker 1: So my husband is 25 years old. and his daughter's
- 39:31Speaker 1: around my age.
- 39:32Speaker 7: So I signed a prenup, and he paid for the.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Lawyer to do the prenup.
- 39:37Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 39:38Speaker 7: Look at her face.
- 39:40Speaker 1: He's got a thing that he can throw me out
- 39:43Speaker 1: in 30 days, but he has to have grounds for divorce.
- 39:46Speaker 1: So he has no grounds for a divorce, but he's
- 39:49Speaker 1: still trying to throw me out of our apartment in
- 39:51Speaker 1: 30 days for no reason.
- 39:53Speaker 3: I don't know why. Because you're fucking crazy. Look at you.
- 39:56Speaker 5: Look at her face.
- 39:59Speaker 1: Because when he dies, I get a pension.
- 40:03Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 40:04Speaker 7: This is the president of the Shukud organization.
- 40:07Speaker 5: I'm an idiot.
- 40:09Speaker 3: I'm the biggest epic idiot in the world.
- 40:11Speaker 4: I agree.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Yes, you are. Oh, another thing.
- 40:16Speaker 7: We never had sex.
- 40:17Speaker 5: He said it was because he had high.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Blood pressure, and he wanted me to accept that.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Then last year when we went through this, I found
- 40:23Speaker 1: five eyebrows, four movies, and condoms. So maybe I should
- 40:27Speaker 1: call him up and ask him, just tell him we're filming,
- 40:30Speaker 1: and ask what he wants me to do with the condoms.
- 40:33Speaker 8: I love the way British people say condoms.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Okay, so we're going to listen to this. What is this?
- 40:41Speaker 3: How is this going to help this dumb bitch's chances
- 40:46Speaker 3: of getting more money, which is what she wants. Because
- 40:54Speaker 3: you're fucking crazy. Oh my god. Oh my god. I
- 41:04Speaker 3: feel bad that we're actually giving this another hit by
- 41:06Speaker 3: watching it. This just seems like one of those people
- 41:11Speaker 3: that I just want people to, like, forget.
- 41:13Speaker 5: But there's, like, 50 of them on here. Like, this
- 41:16Speaker 5: is all she does, obviously, because she has no real life.
- 41:19Speaker 7: It's like, talk about her ex-husband.
- 41:21Speaker 5: Yeah, they all are her bitching about her ex-husband, except
- 41:23Speaker 5: when she crosses the line. Wait a minute.
- 41:26Speaker 3: She crosses the line?
- 41:27Speaker 5: Well, into almost a recognizable person.
- 41:31Speaker 3: I'm tired on that.
- 41:33Speaker 5: Bye.
- 41:35Speaker 16: Fuck is wrong right there at some point she just
- 41:37Speaker 16: started bitching at kathie lee gifford and calling her out
- 41:40Speaker 16: for like her husband cheating on her and her having
- 41:43Speaker 16: a sweatshop and like you name it like she went.
- 41:46Speaker 8: Off so she just kind of like read these little
- 41:48Speaker 8: clips from like whatever british tabloid and was like i
- 41:54Speaker 8: hate you kathy lee gifford this is why.
- 41:56Speaker 5: Well i don't know I don't know how it comes
- 41:58Speaker 5: about that she's even in the news to be on
- 42:01Speaker 5: the Today Show. Because then I found one. Somebody pieced
- 42:03Speaker 5: together the clips of what Kathie Lee said the next
- 42:06Speaker 5: day after this came out.
- 42:08Speaker 3: And she actually was talking about her.
- 42:09Speaker 5: Like, I thought she was just fucking delusional. And, like,
- 42:11Speaker 5: nobody really talks about her because they shouldn't, really. Yeah,
- 42:15Speaker 5: nobody cares. Yeah. Kathy Lee, like, made some sort of
- 42:18Speaker 5: joke about, you know, setting her up at one of those, like,
- 42:21Speaker 5: dating places.
- 42:22Speaker 3: And she said, why.
- 42:23Speaker 5: Don't they take a crack at her or something like that?
- 42:25Speaker 5: And that's a death threat in her.
- 42:26Speaker 3: That's the way she understood it.
- 42:28Speaker 5: Is a death threat. So she's fucking crazy.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Wow.
- 42:32Speaker 13: Wow.
- 42:34Speaker 5: So, yeah. There's the star of our film. Now, are
- 42:39Speaker 5: you surprised that this was the only movie she was
- 42:41Speaker 5: ever in?
- 42:42Speaker 3: Not at all.
- 42:44Speaker 7: Bitch got Megan Foxed.
- 42:46Speaker 8: Yep.
- 42:46Speaker 5: As well she deserved.
- 42:49Speaker 3: She deserves worse.
- 42:51Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 42:52Speaker 5: Oh, so I don't know if that's a thank you
- 42:54Speaker 5: or not to our friend on Twitter for introducing us
- 42:58Speaker 5: to that bullshit.
- 42:59Speaker 7: Why would you know about that is what I want
- 43:01Speaker 7: to know.
- 43:02Speaker 5: I mean, as many as are out there, I mean,
- 43:04Speaker 5: I'm assuming a lot of people have viewed these because
- 43:06Speaker 5: she has a lot of videos.
- 43:08Speaker 3: I love it.
- 43:09Speaker 5: I just like that she referred to her as batshit crazy.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:14Speaker 3: I mean, it's obvious she's got some mental problems of
- 43:16Speaker 3: some sort.
- 43:18Speaker 5: This is what it takes to be a YouTube star.
- 43:20Speaker 13: Nothing.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Nothing.
- 43:21Speaker 5: Not at all. Craziness and a lot of free time.
- 43:24Speaker 6: God.
- 43:25Speaker 5: Wow. oh so lord yeah compared to that uh the
- 43:30Speaker 5: terror is great yeah the terror error.
- 43:34Speaker 7: I just started liking this movie a lot more.
- 43:35Speaker 5: Telling you terror is an awesome movie that's the best
- 43:38Speaker 5: thing she's ever been.
- 43:38Speaker 3: In no really no seriously oh if you don't believe.
- 43:43Speaker 5: Me yeah go look up what the hell is her.
- 43:46Speaker 12: Name again no don't trisha walsh smith.
- 43:50Speaker 5: Have fun not my fault you decided to google it
- 43:55Speaker 5: All right, we will take a break and come back
- 43:56Speaker 5: with the rest of the show. Jesus. Oh, she's out
- 44:01Speaker 5: of her fucking mind. Wookie's are the slam.
- 44:20Speaker 7: Wookie's are the one.
- 44:21Speaker 3: Wookie's gonna rip you like you ain't been done.
- 44:24Speaker 11: Yes, yes.
- 44:24Speaker 5: Yes, yes. Yes, yes.

- 44:59Speaker 2: Don't be frightened. It's only a barroom brawl in hyperspace.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Never before in the history of movies has so much
- 45:06Speaker 2: time and technology been spent just for fun. Star Wars.

- 46:55Speaker 9: to a bar But Obi-Wan came up before I could
- 46:59Speaker 9: get too far Now we're stuck in a garbage chute
- 47:04Speaker 9: on the Death Star.
- 47:05Speaker 5: He's only got eyes for that bitch.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Princess Leia, no.
- 47:11Speaker 18: Working love.
- 47:16Speaker 7: No working love.
- 47:21Speaker 5: She's never even had another movie. She's on like random
- 47:32Speaker 5: passing TV shows over there. at best and for very
- 47:35Speaker 5: short amounts of.
- 47:36Speaker 3: Time yeah I mean it's ridiculous like some rich guy
- 47:41Speaker 3: did marry her yeah I don't understand how I know just.
- 47:45Speaker 7: Be happy that that happened she was.
- 47:47Speaker 5: Kind of weird looking then.
- 47:48Speaker 8: Be happy that you got to live the life for
- 47:50Speaker 8: a couple of years and they kicked you to the
- 47:52Speaker 8: curb because you.
- 47:52Speaker 7: Got uglier and crazier.
- 47:54Speaker 3: Super fucking crazy he's trying to kick me out I
- 47:56Speaker 3: don't know why I can tell you why yeah crazy
- 48:00Speaker 3: bitch yeah.
- 48:02Speaker 8: I can think of about a hundred reasons that i've
- 48:04Speaker 8: never actually met.
- 48:05Speaker 5: You no nor do i want to not really yeah
- 48:10Speaker 5: she's totally killed bath time for brenda for.
- 48:12Speaker 8: Me yeah i don't ever watch bath time for brenda
- 48:14Speaker 8: yeah it doesn't exist i just looked it up on
- 48:18Speaker 8: the internet but damn it yeah if it.
- 48:20Speaker 5: Did yeah she said that would kill it though they
- 48:23Speaker 5: should it's not fun at.
- 48:24Speaker 8: All they should make a real bath time for brenda
- 48:27Speaker 8: Anybody listening?
- 48:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:28Speaker 5: Let's green light that project.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Do it, do it.
- 48:31Speaker 8: Since, you know, like, apparently all the big Hollywood producers
- 48:35Speaker 8: listen to this show for ideas.
- 48:36Speaker 3: I think so.
- 48:37Speaker 7: And all podcasts, not just this one.
- 48:39Speaker 5: They keep making these horrible things we say. Every time
- 48:43Speaker 5: we go, God sakes, don't remake that. The next thing
- 48:46Speaker 5: you know, green light.
- 48:49Speaker 8: I feel like mentioning, anytime I mention a movie, and
- 48:53Speaker 8: it's not just me, it's like anybody, anytime you mention
- 48:55Speaker 8: a movie... Or like an amazement that a celebrity couple
- 49:00Speaker 8: is still together or just a celebrity that you've forgotten about.
- 49:05Speaker 8: Like the celebrity you've forgotten about will die. The celebrity
- 49:08Speaker 8: couple will get divorced. And that movie will be remade.
- 49:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:11Speaker 5: I'm pretty much on board with all these because that
- 49:15Speaker 5: happens time and time again.
- 49:17Speaker 7: It always happens.
- 49:18Speaker 5: Yeah. It's scary, really.
- 49:20Speaker 3: Yes.
- 49:21Speaker 5: The power of releasing something out into the universe.
- 49:25Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 49:26Speaker 5: All right.
- 49:26Speaker 3: Well, we've got feedback.
- 49:28Speaker 8: Yes.
- 49:30Speaker 3: About this movie?
- 49:31Speaker 11: Oh, no.
- 49:31Speaker 5: Well, just the Twitter feeds on that one. But if
- 49:34Speaker 5: anybody else has bothered to watch this movie and wants
- 49:36Speaker 5: to come through with some more feedback, hey, send it in.
- 49:38Speaker 5: We'll be glad to put it up next week or
- 49:41Speaker 5: any future week. Let's hear what other people think about
- 49:44Speaker 5: that thing. All right, but this week we hear from
- 49:47Speaker 5: Demise on Nightmare on Elm Street and April Fool's Day.
- 49:50Speaker 18: Hi, it's Demise. I was just calling in about a
- 49:52Speaker 18: couple of things. The Freddy Krueger stuff, I couldn't agree with.
- 49:55Speaker 8: You guys more.
- 49:56Speaker 18: It wasn't a bad movie as it was, but when
- 50:00Speaker 18: I left it, I was just like, meh. I wasn't
- 50:02Speaker 18: excited or thrilled by it. And I think the Nancy
- 50:07Speaker 18: character just had no charisma to her whatsoever either, so
- 50:10Speaker 18: it just took a lot out of the movie. And
- 50:13Speaker 18: the eerie parts weren't that eerie, and the sparks drove
- 50:15Speaker 18: me crazy. When Freddy finally got to the point of
- 50:19Speaker 18: screeching like he really did, you know, that long, creepy,
- 50:22Speaker 18: screechy noises, all of a sudden it was switched to
- 50:24Speaker 18: sparks part way through and that just kind of ruined
- 50:26Speaker 18: the whole effect there was nothing eerie or creepy about
- 50:29Speaker 18: him he was just there the other thing you guys
- 50:33Speaker 18: were going to talk about was April Fool's Day this
- 50:35Speaker 18: was actually one of my favorite movies for the longest
- 50:37Speaker 18: time and I don't even remember everybody that was in
- 50:41Speaker 18: it but I do remember Biff in it and I
- 50:42Speaker 18: do remember the one kind of semi spiky haired guy
- 50:45Speaker 18: I kind of had a crush on him for the
- 50:46Speaker 18: longest time and he was just a goofball in this
- 50:50Speaker 18: and I just remember it being so goofy and everybody
- 50:53Speaker 18: being so silly in it, but yet it was a
- 50:55Speaker 18: horror movie, but yet it wasn't a horror movie. And
- 50:57Speaker 18: I don't know, I just had a great time with it.
- 50:59Speaker 18: I don't think I'll be in any rush to see
- 51:01Speaker 18: the remake. I just don't see any reason to go
- 51:04Speaker 18: through that. But anyway, it's an absolutely fantastic movie and
- 51:09Speaker 18: it's definitely one of my top horror movies of all time.
- 51:11Speaker 18: So anyway, just throwing some thoughts out there. We'll have time.
- 51:15Speaker 18: Talk to you guys later.
- 51:16Speaker 5: Bye.
- 51:17Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 51:17Speaker 5: Thank you again, Demise. And yeah, The only thing I
- 51:21Speaker 5: came up with, and I said this in passing to Roger,
- 51:23Speaker 5: but I don't know how much it came through in
- 51:25Speaker 5: the episode. The only explanation I have for the sparks
- 51:28Speaker 5: is it is in a dream world. So really, if
- 51:31Speaker 5: you want it to, he can make fucking everything spark. So,
- 51:33Speaker 5: you know, it doesn't follow any real logic as to
- 51:37Speaker 5: why it would be sparking that much because it looks
- 51:39Speaker 5: kind of ridiculous at some point. But, you know, we're
- 51:42Speaker 5: in a dream world, so we're not really sure why
- 51:44Speaker 5: there's flaming pots of goat head on the pig's face
- 51:48Speaker 5: in the kitchen either. Yeah. I guess that's the best
- 51:50Speaker 5: I can come up with an answer on that one.
- 51:52Speaker 8: I'm sad I had to leave before I could talk
- 51:54Speaker 8: about April Fool's Day.
- 51:55Speaker 5: Well, here's your chance. Go to town now.
- 51:57Speaker 7: Well, I mean, it's been too long now.
- 51:59Speaker 5: You don't even remember since last week?
- 52:01Speaker 8: No, because when we were talking about Geek Week, I
- 52:03Speaker 8: totally forgot to mention that the reason I wasn't here
- 52:05Speaker 8: last week is because I went to see fucking Walking
- 52:08Speaker 8: with the Dinosaurs and it ruled.
- 52:10Speaker 3: It didn't rule.
- 52:11Speaker 5: It ruled.
- 52:13Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 52:13Speaker 7: It was totally awesome.
- 52:14Speaker 5: They were walking out in the aisleways and everything.
- 52:17Speaker 11: No, no.
- 52:18Speaker 5: Somebody said they'd had at least little ones that wandered
- 52:21Speaker 5: into the aisles.
- 52:21Speaker 3: That's what I heard.
- 52:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:23Speaker 8: Damn.
- 52:24Speaker 7: But it was really cool.
- 52:25Speaker 5: I liked it.
- 52:26Speaker 8: I liked the way they were basically just like puppets
- 52:29Speaker 8: that people controlled from the inside. Like all the raptors
- 52:32Speaker 8: were just like people inside there. But the big like
- 52:35Speaker 8: life-size like T-Rex and all those dinosaurs and stuff like that,
- 52:38Speaker 8: it was like little people walking.
- 52:40Speaker 7: On the floor in bicycles, on like these bicycles kind
- 52:43Speaker 7: of things.
- 52:44Speaker 8: Wow.
- 52:44Speaker 7: But the dinosaurs moved really naturally, like an animal would.
- 52:48Speaker 7: That's pretty awesome. Because the pedals controlled the feet, and
- 52:50Speaker 7: it was just like, it was amazing.
- 52:52Speaker 5: That's pretty awesome.
- 52:53Speaker 7: And it wasn't very long, which was kind of nice,
- 52:55Speaker 7: I guess, especially if you have children.
- 52:56Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 52:56Speaker 3: Which, I don't know. Have an intensive span of like
- 52:59Speaker 3: five minutes or something.
- 53:00Speaker 5: Mm-hmm. So how long was it total?
- 53:03Speaker 7: It was an hour.
- 53:04Speaker 5: That's about good for kids.
- 53:06Speaker 7: There was a.
- 53:06Speaker 8: 20 minute intermission but it started at 5 and we
- 53:09Speaker 8: were out of there by like 6.30.
- 53:10Speaker 7: So it was maybe a little bit more than an hour.
- 53:12Speaker 3: That's pretty cool.
- 53:14Speaker 5: It was really cool.
- 53:14Speaker 7: Oh and a dinosaur pooped on the stage at one point.
- 53:17Speaker 3: I don't know if I need that.
- 53:20Speaker 8: There was this like a I guess he was like
- 53:23Speaker 8: a paleontologist is the word i'm thinking he was like
- 53:26Speaker 8: the narrator and stuff and you know you're going through
- 53:29Speaker 8: the periods of the dinosaurs and stuff like that.
- 53:32Speaker 7: And he like dug his hand in the poop and
- 53:33Speaker 7: pulled out a dung beetle.
- 53:34Speaker 8: I was like what this just got x-rated.
- 53:39Speaker 5: No just gross yeah scatman crothers so yeah i think
- 53:46Speaker 5: we suggested that might have been where you went or
- 53:48Speaker 5: you went shopping after you guys gave your little commercial for.
- 53:51Speaker 7: Hot topic class were you I didn't go shopping.
- 53:54Speaker 4: Oh, Lord.
- 53:55Speaker 5: So that's your take on April Fool's Day.
- 53:58Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 53:59Speaker 5: Well, you seemed to come around a little more than Misty.
- 54:02Speaker 5: Misty was not fun.
- 54:03Speaker 3: I liked it at the end.
- 54:04Speaker 7: I liked it at the end. The whole movie, I
- 54:06Speaker 7: was pissed because the characters were annoying.
- 54:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 54:08Speaker 7: It was just kind of like, eh. It was boring.
- 54:10Speaker 7: But I liked the end of the movie. It kind
- 54:12Speaker 7: of was a shocker.
- 54:13Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 54:14Speaker 3: Typical Misty, just, she hated it because she hated it.
- 54:17Speaker 8: Yes.
- 54:17Speaker 5: That is how Misty operates.
- 54:19Speaker 3: I hate it because the people sucked.
- 54:21Speaker 7: Yeah, Misty forms her opinions, and they very rarely change.
- 54:25Speaker 5: She does not waver. But, yep, that is it for
- 54:29Speaker 5: the feedback this week, so keep the calls and emails
- 54:33Speaker 5: coming in.
- 54:33Speaker 3: Don't be shy. We'd like to hear from you.
- 54:44Speaker 13: So give us a call at 502-365-5565. Or you can
- 54:49Speaker 13: email us at geeksatmoviemeltdown.com. And just stop by the website
- 54:53Speaker 13: for our frequent updates. That's moviemeltdown.com. And while you're there,
- 54:57Speaker 13: click on the forums link and go to our message
- 54:59Speaker 13: boards at Pop Syndicate. Or go to popsyndicate.com and go
- 55:02Speaker 13: to the forum sections and look for Movie Meltdown.
- 55:13Speaker 5: As far as announcements, I was just thinking it's been
- 55:16Speaker 5: a while since we've mentioned it, and I haven't seen
- 55:18Speaker 5: much come in lately, so we should probably throw it
- 55:20Speaker 5: out there. We are still always glad to receive some
- 55:24Speaker 5: nice feedback on the iTunes. We've had a few, but
- 55:27Speaker 5: I think I mentioned the last few that came in.
- 55:31Speaker 5: We've definitely got a lot of people on iTunes, so
- 55:33Speaker 5: if you're listening there, feel free to give us some
- 55:36Speaker 5: nice five-star reviews, because that always helps the show. In
- 55:40Speaker 5: the iTunes viewing of that world, I think it bumps
- 55:43Speaker 5: us up a little bit. If you don't have iTunes,
- 55:45Speaker 5: go steal somebody else's computer and use theirs.
- 55:49Speaker 8: I always forget that I can listen to these on
- 55:52Speaker 8: my phone. I've only listened to one episode, I'm sorry.
- 55:56Speaker 5: Nobody else listens to it. It doesn't matter.
- 55:58Speaker 3: As long as they listen.
- 55:59Speaker 7: I mean, I was here, so... I don't like to
- 56:03Speaker 7: hear myself talk.
- 56:04Speaker 18: I know.
- 56:04Speaker 5: Most people don't listen to their own show. Sadly, I do.
- 56:08Speaker 3: Every once in a while. I used to more regularly.
- 56:11Speaker 5: But even after the fact, I go back and re-listen
- 56:13Speaker 5: to them.
- 56:13Speaker 7: That's kind of weird.
- 56:14Speaker 11: So, yes.
- 56:15Speaker 5: Feel free to go to the old iTunes store and
- 56:17Speaker 5: leave us some nice five-star reviews.
- 56:19Speaker 3: Just saying.
- 56:20Speaker 7: It's funny that all of these are explicit, like... We
- 56:23Speaker 7: say just awful things.
- 56:25Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 56:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:26Speaker 5: I mean, to me, that's kind of the great aspect
- 56:30Speaker 5: about these shows is that it's one of the last
- 56:32Speaker 5: few places that, you know, you've got that freedom of speech. Like,
- 56:35Speaker 5: you really can. And anybody can piece it together, and
- 56:39Speaker 5: you can put it out there, and all you have
- 56:40Speaker 5: to do is put explicit on it, and you're not
- 56:42Speaker 5: totally being, you know, overthrown by FCC regulations, and, you know,
- 56:47Speaker 5: you're not completely overrun with that stuff.
- 56:49Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 56:50Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 56:50Speaker 5: I think it's kind of cool, and it's one of
- 56:51Speaker 5: the last few places. You can't really do that anywhere
- 56:54Speaker 5: else anymore. I mean, it's completely been taken away from
- 56:58Speaker 5: you in every other aspect of your life.
- 57:00Speaker 3: You may not even realize.
- 57:03Speaker 5: Actually, I heard a show go into that the other
- 57:05Speaker 5: day of how many things that the government... doesn't regulate
- 57:09Speaker 5: and how much the the private um cable companies that
- 57:13Speaker 5: are running all this can kind of decide what goes
- 57:15Speaker 5: out there like there there was like a concert that
- 57:18Speaker 5: somebody started it was years ago and somebody was talking
- 57:20Speaker 5: bad about president bush at the time and they muted
- 57:23Speaker 5: it i'm like okay can you do that yeah well
- 57:26Speaker 5: that was the thing and then somebody complained about that
- 57:28Speaker 5: and they were like whatever it's our company and then
- 57:30Speaker 5: there was another one like a guy was downloading stuff
- 57:32Speaker 5: off their internet and he was downloading like stuff from
- 57:35Speaker 5: the 30s. It was like barbershop quartets or something. It's
- 57:40Speaker 5: like stuff that's public domain. And they stopped him. And
- 57:42Speaker 5: he was like, he really kind of followed through. He's like,
- 57:44Speaker 5: why are you doing this? It's public domain. It's my
- 57:46Speaker 5: right to be able to download this. And they basically said, well,
- 57:50Speaker 5: tough luck. So he went to the FCC and he
- 57:53Speaker 5: was like, so what's up with that? So the FCC
- 57:57Speaker 5: pursued it. And it was like Comcast or Time Warner,
- 58:00Speaker 5: one of the big ones. And they were like, so?
- 58:02Speaker 5: And they were like, we're the FCC. You can't do that.
- 58:06Speaker 5: Who says we can't? So basically, they were like, fuck
- 58:09Speaker 5: you to the FCC. And I was just like, how
- 58:11Speaker 5: the hell do you get away with that in this
- 58:13Speaker 5: day and age?
- 58:13Speaker 3: And they looked into it.
- 58:14Speaker 5: There are no laws that say what the companies that
- 58:18Speaker 5: own that can and can't do with what's on their programming.
- 58:21Speaker 5: So they're actually trying to get stuff set up so that,
- 58:24Speaker 5: I mean, that some sort of government regulations as to
- 58:26Speaker 5: you can't, like, omit things that people say for, you know,
- 58:29Speaker 5: no specific reason other than you don't agree with it.
- 58:32Speaker 5: Or you can't, you know, completely block somebody just because
- 58:35Speaker 5: you don't like it. Because they were talking about all
- 58:36Speaker 5: the ways that they can also use that to their advantage, like...
- 58:40Speaker 5: internet speeds and stuff like that, that there are no
- 58:42Speaker 5: regulations saying that, well, you want us to be able to, uh,
- 58:45Speaker 5: get you a link that goes straight to your website.
- 58:47Speaker 5: You got to pay us extra. You know, there's, there's
- 58:50Speaker 5: nothing that says that they can't do basically extortion as
- 58:52Speaker 5: time goes on. I mean, there's, it's still such a
- 58:55Speaker 5: new medium that there's like no laws in place to
- 58:58Speaker 5: keep people from just running amok and do whatever the
- 59:01Speaker 5: fuck they want. And when you're Comcast and Time Warner,
- 59:03Speaker 5: you've got enough money, you can do whatever you want.
- 59:06Speaker 5: So yeah, I thought that was kind of interesting. I
- 59:09Speaker 5: think it's like, see, the internet.com or something is like
- 59:11Speaker 5: trying to, you can email your Congressman and find some
- 59:14Speaker 5: way to stop them from doing this. I don't, yeah,
- 59:17Speaker 5: I don't really get behind crazy political bullshit, but that
- 59:20Speaker 5: one affected us in a way that I was like,
- 59:22Speaker 5: you know, people should probably know about that because it's
- 59:24Speaker 5: not on the laws anywhere and we're going to get
- 59:27Speaker 5: screwed over and it's going to be too late to
- 59:29Speaker 5: do anything further down the line. So Hey, go find
- 59:32Speaker 5: out about it if you're interested.
- 59:34Speaker 8: I'm looking at all these on iTunes and I'm like,
- 59:37Speaker 8: was I here for this one?
- 59:37Speaker 7: I don't remember this.
- 59:39Speaker 5: Your memory is shot. It's like doing a show with
- 59:42Speaker 5: Jay here.
- 59:44Speaker 7: I know.
- 59:46Speaker 5: Wow. Okay, kids, get out your decoder bins.
- 59:53Speaker 2: Could tell that tonight's message was really important.
- 59:56Speaker 5: It is time for the Movie Meltdown Secret to Circle
- 59:58Speaker 5: reveal of the next two features.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: And they are... Next week's feature is.
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: Live in Fear of Heart Beeps.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: Heart bleeps? Or beeps?
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: Beeps.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: Okay, beeps.
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: Heart beeps.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: Robot family.
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: Is this a cartoon?
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: No.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: Live action.
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: No.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: You just prepare yourself.
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: It's... Early 80s? 81? Yeah.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: 82 maybe? Yeah.
- 1:00:26Speaker 7: Is it going to be like Mac and Me, but
- 1:00:27Speaker 7: with robots?
- 1:00:28Speaker 12: No.
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: This is way weirder as far as I can remember,
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: and I don't remember much, but I remember seeing it
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: on cable as a kid, and it's just weird.
- 1:00:37Speaker 13: It's just weird.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: Something I remember, yeah, I saw it when I was
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: a child also, and it was bizarre. It affected me somehow.
- 1:00:44Speaker 11: Yes.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: In a weird way. Yeah.
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: What was with robots in the 80s? Remember that show,
- 1:00:49Speaker 7: Small Wonder?
- 1:00:49Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: I hated that show. Everyone hated that show.
- 1:00:53Speaker 7: I loved that show as a kid, but now it's awful.
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: It was terrible. Even at the time, I was at
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: least old enough to know, this is a horribly made show.
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: I was like, who's going to drown this robot girl?
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: I just had dreams about hitting her with a sledgehammer
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: and just crushing her.
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: Crushing her but that was like once again i was
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: alone in that one because so many kids that grew
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: up watching that think it's great and i'm just like
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: i hated that even as a kid i don't get
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: it i.
- 1:01:19Speaker 8: Just i think i just grew up like horribly obsessed
- 1:01:22Speaker 8: with robots and i mean robots are cool i mean
- 1:01:24Speaker 8: i definitely have gotten over it but i remember i
- 1:01:26Speaker 8: was like really obsessed with robots for a while robots are.
- 1:01:29Speaker 10: Awesome but that show not so awesome okay what's the
- 1:01:32Speaker 10: second the second one uh speaking of things we saw
- 1:01:36Speaker 10: as as a child and completely uh revolutionized our world
- 1:01:40Speaker 10: We're going to watch The Dark Crystal.
- 1:01:43Speaker 7: Nice. Fizz gig.
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: Fizz gig.
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: Oh, Lord. We're also going to feature an interview with
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: Bill Diamond, who actually worked on The Dark Crystal. That's amazing.
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: He worked with Jim Henson. He worked on The Muppet Show,
- 1:01:57Speaker 5: worked on The Dark Crystal. I was still in awe
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: of that as I sat there. It was pretty amazing.
- 1:02:02Speaker 7: I need to find Muppet Babies on DVD.
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: I don't know if it's legally on DVD. I know.
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: But good luck to you. I'm sure it's out there.
- 1:02:09Speaker 7: Why don't they put all the most awesome cartoons on there?
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: That one I can probably tell you why. Because they
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: worked in tons of video clips and music and stuff
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: that I'm sure they don't have the rights to.
- 1:02:19Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:02:19Speaker 5: Now, a lot of it was Lucas stuff. So, I mean,
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: he was in bed with them. And so, at the time,
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: they had the rights to use a lot of that
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: Star Wars stuff that they kept putting in.
- 1:02:28Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:02:28Speaker 5: But, I mean, every show was like a little knockoff
- 1:02:31Speaker 5: of something else, and they actually ran video clips of stuff.
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: So I'm pretty sure the licensing is why that one
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: isn't and possibly will never be on DVD legally.
- 1:02:40Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: That really pisses me off.
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: That really makes me angry.
- 1:02:42Speaker 8: Like, all the favorite shows that I had growing up with, MainTube,
- 1:02:48Speaker 8: of course, we talked about this, was the Beetlejuice cartoon.
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: Uh-huh.
- 1:02:52Speaker 7: And the muppet babies.
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: They're both awesome beetlejuice is amazing like both of them
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: are good but beetlejuice was another one of those that
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: like i just latched on to it yeah i thought
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: it was the best i mean it was pretty great
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: shaped me you know i'm telling you but but again
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: licensing so blame lawyers.
- 1:03:08Speaker 8: Another one i watched but i don't really think it
- 1:03:10Speaker 8: affected me as much but i just remember watching this
- 1:03:12Speaker 8: as a kid and loving it was tiny toons.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: No, Tiny Toons was great also.
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: I was way more Animaniacs. I didn't get into Tiny Toons.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: Oh, Tiny Toons and Animaniacs.
- 1:03:20Speaker 7: I've never seen Tiny Toons on DVD either.
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: No.
- 1:03:23Speaker 7: Is there a licensing problem, too?
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: Who knows?
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: I'm not sure. No, but I don't know if they
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: had enough following. I mean, it was.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: It took them years before Animaniacs boxed sets. Yeah, I've
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: seen Animaniacs.
- 1:03:35Speaker 7: I've even seen Freakazoid, which nobody gives a shit about
- 1:03:38Speaker 7: that show.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: I don't get that one either, but who knows?
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: All right, anything else we need to pass along this week?
- 1:03:47Speaker 7: I'm really sad about them trying to find a new
- 1:03:49Speaker 7: band for the free credit report commercials.
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: Oh, God.
- 1:03:53Speaker 8: I kind of think everyone should get together and protest because, yeah.
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: Maybe I'm the only person in the world, but really
- 1:04:00Speaker 8: the Renaissance song was pure gold.
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: It was a magical, magical commercial, and now they're going
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: to find some new band the way they presented it
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: on that commercial earlier. So, yeah, Marlene is in mourning.
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: I mean, really.
- 1:04:13Speaker 8: If if they played shows i might be the only
- 1:04:16Speaker 8: one there i might be the male to the.
- 1:04:18Speaker 12: Flight they probably do play shows i think they should
- 1:04:21Speaker 12: at this point they should totally market on this little
- 1:04:24Speaker 12: turn of events here and like go off go rogue
- 1:04:26Speaker 12: and start doing their own show i might.
- 1:04:28Speaker 7: Paint a picture of all of.
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: Them it'll end up on their album cover crazy town
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: crazy town that.
- 1:04:37Speaker 7: Was a bell reference.
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: So on our crazy music note there I guess we
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: can go out and as far as I know Peter
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: Mayhew has never recorded any rockin' songs sadly So he
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: can't go out on his own music, but his co-star
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: in terror, Trisha Walsh, did. Trisha Walsh has definitely had
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: quite a recording career. Whether or not anybody else wants
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: her to doesn't seem to stop her. So I guess
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: we can wrap up the wonderful Wookiee Fest here and
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: our terror discussion with some Trisha Walsh and singing a
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: very appropriate song called I'm Going Bonkers. Seriously, people.
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: Already there, bitch.
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: She's loopy as hell.
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: Uh-huh.
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: Otherwise, that about does it.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: We will return next week.
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: Same geek time, same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: Thanks, guys.
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: Thanks.
- 1:05:23Speaker 5: Bye.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: I want her to die.
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: I know.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: She's just a waste of space.
- 1:05:37Speaker 7: Celebration die.
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: I'm going bonkers. Last night he was here and I
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: was a fool.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: I could have checked the moon had I owned a
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: swimming pool. I threw my best lines at him but
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: he would not bite.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: Perhaps a lace trick may have helped my pride.
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: I'm going bonkers. I'm going bonkers. Fantasy is easy, yeah.
- 1:06:25Speaker 5: Fantasy is pain.
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: But this guy Johnny.
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: Gives me bondage of the brain. I'm going bonkers. I'm
- 1:06:34Speaker 5: going bonkers When.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: We mess around, this and that, talk about my health
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: I'm impressed you did that, my God, I'm working.
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: Well Then the lights dim down and Johnny starts.
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: To play Then he says he has a headache, how
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: can he.
- 1:06:49Speaker 7: Treat me this way?
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: I'm going bonkers I'm going.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: Bonkers All my dreams are squashed in two Daniel Steele.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Where are you?
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: I need romance, can't you see? Tied in rubber.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: I'm stuck here I'm.
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: Going bonkers I'm going.
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: Bonkers Johnny, you look great!
- 1:07:29Speaker 8: What do you mean?
- 1:07:30Speaker 7: What do you think of me, veteran?
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: Dungeon?
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Oh, right, it's a dungeon.
- 1:07:34Speaker 7: Hey, we've got some looking. It's time we had sex, Johnny.
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: Take off your jacket. Oh, you found my knickers, haven't.
- 1:07:43Speaker 7: You?
