- Chris Laker: I just woke up to a dude at the window. I mean, he was working on a light pole outside the window. He wasn't knocking on the window trying to get in or something. But like these blinds are always down when I'm asleep because there's like windows right there and I like my privacy, but there's another window you don't see. I wake up, I see this dude working on the on the thing, and he was not watching me sleep. I if you're that dude, you're up on a lift working on light poles all day, you looking in a lot of windows, and I gotta imagine seeing me sleep is not the jackpot you're hoping for. I would expect some professionalism from the light pole guy not to look in the window. It's gotta be tempting to peek. When you're up on the lift out front of a window, even just a little, just like, hey, what's going on there? not to be weird about it, but just even like, hey, how are these people living? I should have told him about the podcast, get another listener. Well, I'm gonna keep those blinds down all the time now. Let's just get into the news. It's Monday. gotta get to the news, gotta get to work. New Charlie Kirk statue vandalized at Turning Point USA headquarters. they just put the statue in 'cause it was the anniversary. I don't keep track of that anniversary. I don't know the date of Charlie Kirk's death. I don't remember where I was when I heard about it it's not like a distinct memory for me. Some people, it's a very big deal. Those people don't listen to this podcast. The statue, they threw paint on it. I think that would be easily cleaned up. People are gonna say they did this themselves to get attention. I don't know. It's not gonna really get that much attention. The death itself, it got a l it got a lot of attention for a little bit. I don't think something happened to the statue's really gonna cause some national outrage. it sh shouldn't happen if somebody went there and threw paint on the statue. don't do that. Because it's somebody else's statue, even if you don't like the dude. there must be security camera footage if they don't find the person who did it, then I would think, hm, I wonder who did that Diesel pushes to new all time high as oil prices jump after Key Saudi pipeline is shut. I've run out of things to say about the headline that diesel prices are all time high. Cause this just happened two days ago. It was at an all time high. Now it's at an all time high again. Every time you hear it's an all-time high, think, this is better than it will be in two days. enjoy your cheap gas because it's about to get really expensive. U.S. 10-year yields reach 5%, highest since 2023. Well, it's 2026. When you say highest since 2023, that's not like that long ago. But I understand that it's high. I know like kinda five percent is not great because then people invest less in stock because it makes more sense to buy bonds. And it's costing the government more and there's a lot of debt as a kid, I just remember there being a financial crisis every couple of years. it's just like isn't this always happening that there's like a headline and you st they're showing like a stockbroker with his head in his hands this all seems like it's fucked up and I wouldn't trust it. I had an idea of what I was talking about years ago. I kind of forget most of what I knew and I just know I don't trust nothing. I don't trust bonds. I don't trust stock market. I use a bank, I'm not a psycho, because it's convenient. I don't like them. The debit card's a pretty convenient thing. People used to, whatever it was forty years ago, need to carry around cash all the time. And you'd have to go to the bank and talk to a person to get money. that would be a nightmare for me. and they get a piece of everything, all the transactions. But it's it is better than walking around cash. New York Yankees say Legionella bacteria found in Cooling Tower not linked to outbreak. Well the New York Yankees wouldn't lie to you. There is an outbreak of Legionnaires disease in the South Bronx. There's some bacteria at Yankee Stadium. It's not their fault. And if it ends up being their fault, everybody who's got Legionnaire's disease gets to meet Aaron Judge. Queensland woman falls to her death at Bolly Cliff, popular with tourists. You gotta be careful at this cliff. It's it's a cliff. Maybe they need some more signs. Hey, it's a cliff. Watch out. You people fall. Somebody just fell the other day. This cliff will fuck you up. It's a cliff. San Jose officer fired for misusing flock camera database in domestic abuse case. I I mean this is just like yesterday I was talking about another flock camera. Every day there's a flock camera abuse story. Every cop is looking at the flop camera. that's what they do to unwind. After they get off the shift, everybody gathers around, flips through the flop camera. Hey, let's see what your wife's doing. Hey, how about that guy from high school? Let's check on him. that's probably not true. That's what I imagine. And I think the other day Trump was saying, I like flock cameras. Of course he does. He's a fucking weirdo. Immigrants held in small outdoor cages at Alligator Alcatraz in Florida investigators find. we're gonna find a lot of inhumane activity at all of these facilities when there's any investigation. And this is the investigation going on now, when they are totally into covering shit up. the name Alc alligator Alcatraz annoys me so much with how they think it's clever and funny because of alliteration. When people think alliteration is amusing, that's just that's how I know. No, thank you. that's that's a sign of fascism, I think. That's why Hitler was so into the SS. Bob Mackey, designer to the stars, who dressed Cher in Madonna and defined seventies glamour, dies at eighty seven. Very influential, iconic designer. I mean I don't know anything about fashion, but I know to say those things. eighty seven, that's not bad. I would take eighty seven, I think, unless I was eighty six. Then I would want more. Nepal floods colon, the Himalayas are melting faster, and India's economy is at risk. the floods it's gonna wash all the money away, which is the biggest problem, of course, is the money. That's why we can't really worry about the environment. It costs too much money. And if you could choose between money and air you can breathe and water you can drink, of course it's money every time. there is this five percent yield right now invest in the bonds, use that money to stop the Himalayas from melting. offer the Himalayas some money. that's what will solve this crisis. If we save enough money by polluting, we can spend that money on saving the economy. we won't spend it on that. We'll spend it on tax cuts. But the tax cuts will then help the economy through job creation that'll go to AI. That's also not great for the environment, but the AI will then fix the environment. you're not smart enough to understand how this all connects, but it does, and really smart people understand that, like Peter Thiel. great, and now we have this. EPA set to eliminate rule that l limits planet warming greenhouse gas emissions from power plants. All right, let's go. Let's speed run this motherfucker. Why are we messing around? No half measures. Turn it all the way up. Pedal to the metal. Let's get some more hurricanes. Let's get some more flooding. dry out those forests. Wildfires. It is on. we're gonna this plan's gonna go out like Amy Winehouse. Like, no. No rehab. I am indulging and let's see how it goes. Let's see how far I can take it and leave behind some great music.
