- 0:00Speaker 1: Is our man, Tim Reynolds. I used to cover the
- 0:02Speaker 1: Associated Press, and I he used to be an AP
- 0:05Speaker 1: colleague of me when he and I were there back
- 0:07Speaker 1: in the day. Well a few days ago, Tim Reynolds
- 0:09Speaker 1: from the NBA writer from the Associated Press joins us
- 0:12Speaker 1: on the Beacon Plumbing hotline. Good morning, sir, good afternoon
- 0:14Speaker 1: for you.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. If you're listening on
- 0:20Speaker 2: the internet. We've got it all covered.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Good thing, Tim. Let me just start by asking you
- 0:26Speaker 1: the context of this. Pat Riley's done this before and
- 0:29Speaker 1: the heat bringing a course Lebron James to South Beach
- 0:32Speaker 1: and then bringing having before that, bring Shaquille O'Neal and
- 0:35Speaker 1: Chris Boston, the Super Team with Dwayne Wade. How does
- 0:38Speaker 1: this Jannis acquisition compare contrast with those? How do you
- 0:42Speaker 1: rate those in significance compared to those previous ones.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I mean, it's well, first of all, thanks for having me, sir.
- 0:50Speaker 2: It's not just pat them Oh, it's trying to get
- 0:53Speaker 2: a guy who's basically still in still in his prime.
- 0:56Speaker 2: And this goes back to you know they tried and
- 0:59Speaker 2: failed with Juan on Howard. You know, way back in
- 1:01Speaker 2: the day, David Stern had to intervene in that one.
- 1:04Speaker 2: They got Alonso Morning, then Shaquille O'Neal, and then the
- 1:08Speaker 2: Shack one is what led to titles he got. He
- 1:11Speaker 2: came in O four, They won a title in O
- 1:12Speaker 2: six with Dwayne Wade. Without that title, I don't think
- 1:16Speaker 2: Lebron and Chris.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Bosh come to play with Dwayne in twenty ten.
- 1:21Speaker 2: You know, then there was Jimmy Butler, which you know
- 1:24Speaker 2: people here have mixed memories of the Jimmy era, but
- 1:29Speaker 2: there were two finals runs in that time heat fans
- 1:33Speaker 2: didn't enjoy either of them because one they both lost them.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Two the twenty twenty one was in the bubble so
- 1:38Speaker 2: nobody could go. And now this one he really greg
- 1:43Speaker 2: I said, the biggest thing about Giannis coming to Miami
- 1:46Speaker 2: is that Pat needed this one. The fan base here
- 1:50Speaker 2: is spoiled. And I don't say that in a bad way.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I'm not calling them out, I'm not shiding them. It's
- 1:56Speaker 2: they've been to the finals as recently as twenty twenty three.
- 2:00Speaker 2: You know, the Knicks hadn't been to a final since
- 2:02Speaker 2: the late nineties before winning this title a couple weeks ago.
- 2:06Speaker 2: It's been a while. But Heat fans get their hopes
- 2:10Speaker 2: up every summer, and they they took a swing at
- 2:13Speaker 2: Kevin Durant didn't get them, took a swing at Damian
- 2:15Speaker 2: Lillard didn't get them. Took two previous swings at Yiannis,
- 2:20Speaker 2: never never landed the plane. This time they finally got one.
- 2:23Speaker 2: And I think another summer of Lucy pulling the football
- 2:27Speaker 2: away from Charlie Brown. I think I got that metaphor right.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I think if Heat fans had gone through that again,
- 2:35Speaker 2: it would have been much more grumbling than the Heater
- 2:39Speaker 2: used to. I think it was critical for Pat to
- 2:41Speaker 2: pull this one off. Obviously it helps the team. The
- 2:44Speaker 2: team is right there again, when they get the pieces
- 2:47Speaker 2: around him, they'll be right there. But he needed this
- 2:50Speaker 2: one because this town was getting very very antsy. Rightly
- 2:54Speaker 2: or wrongly, that was the case.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Tim You mentioned the two previous swings that Gianni's from
- 2:58Speaker 1: Milwaukee didn't happen. What made it happen? This time? We
- 3:02Speaker 1: see the Hall four players, one of them all start
- 3:05Speaker 1: three first round picks, putting yesterday's thirteenth overall a second
- 3:09Speaker 1: round pick. But why now, as opposed to before? You think?
- 3:14Speaker 2: Well, I think, for one, you know there is the
- 3:17Speaker 2: contract that's looming. Milwaukee had a two hundred and seventy
- 3:20Speaker 2: five million dollar decision to make with Jannis me that
- 3:25Speaker 2: was the extension that he would have been eligible for
- 3:27Speaker 2: in October at he stayed in Milwaukee four years, two
- 3:30Speaker 2: seventy five. That means you're basically committing to paying thirty
- 3:34Speaker 2: five thirty six year old, be honest, almost one million
- 3:38Speaker 2: dollars a game, and I'm not sure if that was
- 3:40Speaker 2: tenable for Jimmy Haslam. I don't know if westevens wanted
- 3:43Speaker 2: to go down that road. We all know there's been drama.
- 3:47Speaker 2: You know, he wasn't very happy before Doc Rivers came.
- 3:50Speaker 2: He wasn't very happy with Doc Rivers there as it
- 3:53Speaker 2: turned out. I think after thirteen years the relationship had
- 3:58Speaker 2: just run its course. I think he's got nothing but
- 4:01Speaker 2: love for the city, for the fans. But there's a
- 4:04Speaker 2: point as a superstar begins to age, they feel the
- 4:08Speaker 2: pressures of time, and the Bucks know they're not good
- 4:12Speaker 2: enough as currently constructed to contend for a title. So therefore,
- 4:16Speaker 2: why are you going to give him so much of
- 4:19Speaker 2: your resources, so much of your cap if he's.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Not going to be happy because he's not winning enough.
- 4:25Speaker 2: So this is one of those sort of make sense
- 4:29Speaker 2: for both parties, even though it is jarring to think
- 4:33Speaker 2: of Giannis in any other uniform than one that says
- 4:36Speaker 2: bucks across the front. They had to make a decision
- 4:38Speaker 2: on their direction. He knows he's only got a finite
- 4:41Speaker 2: number of years left and he wants more titles. It
- 4:44Speaker 2: had to happen again.
- 4:45Speaker 4: This is the Greg Bill Show, a Christopher Kidd. We
- 4:47Speaker 4: got Tim Reynolds, NBA writer for the Associated Press on
- 4:50Speaker 4: the Beacon pulling hot line. Where Tim, where does Jannis
- 4:54Speaker 4: and Bam pairing rank among the best duels in the NBA?
- 4:58Speaker 4: And do you think that duo alone is is enough
- 5:00Speaker 4: to make Miami a favorite in the Eastern Conference.
- 5:09Speaker 2: I think it depends on what you define as a favorite.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Do I think they're a top four team in the
- 5:13Speaker 2: Eastern Conference even as currently constructed? I think you can
- 5:17Speaker 2: make that argument. Now, they need a lot of shooting
- 5:19Speaker 2: around them. They need shooting, They need another playmaker. Tyler
- 5:23Speaker 2: hero handled the ball a lot for that basketball team.
- 5:27Speaker 2: So you've lost a great shooter in Tyler, a volume
- 5:30Speaker 2: scorer in Tyler, and a ball handler in Tyler. So
- 5:33Speaker 2: you need to address some of that now. Obviously Giannis
- 5:36Speaker 2: is going to pick up the scoring slack, but he's
- 5:38Speaker 2: not a ball handler. He's not exactly a knockdown shooter,
- 5:42Speaker 2: so additions will have to be made. I think if
- 5:45Speaker 2: they make the right additions, yeah, they could compete with
- 5:48Speaker 2: absolutely anybody in the East, including the champion Knicks. As
- 5:52Speaker 2: far as the one two punch, we know it's going
- 5:55Speaker 2: to be very, very good defensively, and even in this
- 6:00Speaker 2: NBA where points are at a premium, everybody's you know,
- 6:04Speaker 2: wild about the three pointer.
- 6:05Speaker 3: That's not a new thing that's gone on for like
- 6:07Speaker 3: a decade.
- 6:08Speaker 2: And even the Heat, you know, pulled the reins off
- 6:10Speaker 2: the offense. I mean they were second in the league
- 6:12Speaker 2: in scoring this year. I mean nobody really thought an
- 6:15Speaker 2: Eric's poster team would ever play.
- 6:17Speaker 3: That fast play at that tempo.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Defense still matters, and the Heat have always done defense
- 6:22Speaker 2: the same way. It is always from the rim out.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Bam is as good a defender in the non Wemby
- 6:30Speaker 2: division as there is in the NBA, and Giannis is
- 6:32Speaker 2: right there with him, so it's an awesome one too
- 6:35Speaker 2: defensive punch. They get along well, they share an agent,
- 6:39Speaker 2: They were in Vegas together last night. Giannis obviously got
- 6:43Speaker 2: the memo that Asia Wilson is in fact part of
- 6:46Speaker 2: the Heat family, so he's there supporting the Aces. Last night,
- 6:50Speaker 2: Bam and Yanna spent time together that marriage is going
- 6:54Speaker 2: to be fine. It's just can they get enough around
- 6:58Speaker 2: them yea to make every to get to ultimately where
- 7:01Speaker 2: they need to go.
- 7:02Speaker 5: Got it?
- 7:02Speaker 4: And we all know that Yanni's left Milwaukee a little
- 7:05Speaker 4: bit because they run out of assets and avenues to
- 7:09Speaker 4: improve around him. And looking at Miami's current situation after
- 7:13Speaker 4: this trade, how much pressure is on pat Riley in
- 7:15Speaker 4: the Heat front office to prove that they can actually
- 7:18Speaker 4: build a better contender around him than you what we
- 7:20Speaker 4: saw with the Bucks.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Well, I think Pat's proven a lot. I don't think
- 7:25Speaker 2: there's a lot of pressure from that stamp. I think
- 7:27Speaker 2: the pressure is off the Heat now. Now it's a
- 7:29Speaker 2: question of filling out your roster. When you have Gianni's
- 7:32Speaker 2: and you're spending this kind of money on Giannest, you
- 7:34Speaker 2: know what the goal is? The goal isn't you know?
- 7:36Speaker 2: The Heat aren't going to come out and say, you know,
- 7:38Speaker 2: our goal is be top four in the East, Like, No,
- 7:40Speaker 2: They're they're looking for another banner. You know, pat Riley
- 7:44Speaker 2: has nine rings and evidently the pinky finger, on his
- 7:46Speaker 2: other hand, is getting a little lonely. He wants at ten.
- 7:49Speaker 2: And that's what it's going to be about. I think
- 7:52Speaker 2: the proving was that they could do it one more.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Time, that they could go out and get the absolute star.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Now, yeah, they'll be hardcapped. There will be tough decisions.
- 8:06Speaker 2: They'll have to be very creative. But if there's a
- 8:09Speaker 2: free agent shooter out there that's looking at the culture,
- 8:15Speaker 2: the climate, no tax I can play with Bam, I
- 8:19Speaker 2: can play with Yannis, I can play for Eric Spolstra
- 8:22Speaker 2: in a place that I mean, the heat have been
- 8:24Speaker 2: those seven finals in the last twenty years. I mean,
- 8:27Speaker 2: it's a proven program. They now have some selling points
- 8:31Speaker 2: Without Yannis. It's hey, come play with Bam and Andrew
- 8:34Speaker 2: Wiggins and Norman Powell and the weather and all those things.
- 8:37Speaker 2: That's great. But with Yannis and all of those things,
- 8:42Speaker 2: now some people who might not have said, you know,
- 8:45Speaker 2: I'll take a little bit less than I could have
- 8:47Speaker 2: gotten elsewhere and go play in Miami. Those people are
- 8:51Speaker 2: going to shift their thinking again. You would think.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Tim Reynolds is the NBA writer for the Associated Press
- 8:56Speaker 1: romer AP colleague of Mine Cocko's from Miami about the
- 8:58Speaker 1: big Yannis trade. Here on to becon Plumbing Hotline, a
- 9:01Speaker 1: ninety three point three KJFM tim You know you can't
- 9:04Speaker 1: come on a radio show in Seattle without can ask
- 9:06Speaker 1: an expansion question. Where is the expansion process as you
- 9:10Speaker 1: know it? Is there a vote coming by fall? Perhaps?
- 9:14Speaker 1: Will there be any announcement at the Summer League in
- 9:16Speaker 1: Las Vegas next month toward expanding the Seattle in Las Vegas?
- 9:20Speaker 1: What's the latest you know or sense about that?
- 9:24Speaker 2: I thought you were going to throw a Mackie Samus
- 9:27Speaker 2: Savitch for question. I didn't know we.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Were going to expansion.
- 9:32Speaker 2: That's crazy to me. We're not talking about Mackie.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Acquisition.
- 9:38Speaker 2: We love I do, I would love Mackie, you know.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Adam Silver last night, in his pre draft interview on
- 9:46Speaker 2: ESPN said the quiet part out loud that we've all
- 9:52Speaker 2: been you know that we've all been waiting on it,
- 9:55Speaker 2: and it's been it's been assumed that if it happened,
- 10:00Speaker 2: it's twenty eight to twenty nine, that it's that season
- 10:04Speaker 2: that aligned with the timing that Adam has been saying
- 10:07Speaker 2: now he's been saying this part for a year, that
- 10:10Speaker 2: they're a decision will be made by the end of
- 10:13Speaker 2: this calendar year. It will be discussed at the Board
- 10:18Speaker 2: of Governor's meeting in Vegas in July. I do not
- 10:23Speaker 2: expect any sort of final decision. I'm not even sure
- 10:26Speaker 2: if all the bids will be in yet. Groups now
- 10:30Speaker 2: will start the process, and we saw this with the
- 10:32Speaker 2: Golden Knights ownership a few days ago. Groups now will
- 10:35Speaker 2: start the process of putting out press.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Releases that say.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Hey, we're interested in bringing a team here, and we've
- 10:40Speaker 2: got a group together and we're talking to this bank,
- 10:42Speaker 2: and that's wonderful, and it's going to show the interest
- 10:46Speaker 2: and how many people want in on this. But it's
- 10:49Speaker 2: not going to mean anything. There's going to be multiple
- 10:53Speaker 2: legitimate bids from both cities, and we already know that.
- 10:57Speaker 2: We know multiple in this case is going to mean
- 10:59Speaker 2: more than two. I think there's a chance that people
- 11:02Speaker 2: will say that. Groups will say I'd like a team.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I don't care which, I don't care where it is.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I can do this in Seattle, I can do this
- 11:09Speaker 2: in Vega. I think you'll see some of that. That's
- 11:11Speaker 2: like just give me a team and then tell me
- 11:13Speaker 2: where you only to put the arena and we'll get
- 11:15Speaker 2: that done.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Or tell me what I got to do and we'll
- 11:16Speaker 3: get that done.
- 11:18Speaker 2: There's going to be a ton of things for the
- 11:20Speaker 2: league to get through. That's why I think things will
- 11:23Speaker 2: pick up pretty quickly by the fall, because they just
- 11:25Speaker 2: have to go through so many groups. They're going to
- 11:27Speaker 2: have interest in this thing. No decision in July. I
- 11:30Speaker 2: would be shocked if there's any by September that that
- 11:35Speaker 2: border governors meeting in New York in the fall, and
- 11:38Speaker 2: I don't have the date, but it's always in New
- 11:39Speaker 2: York in the fall. That's when we're going to know
- 11:44Speaker 2: more of a timeline of Okay, this is the window,
- 11:47Speaker 2: this is the decision. The one thing that I would
- 11:50Speaker 2: say to that Adam keeps saying it might be no teams,
- 11:53Speaker 2: it might just be one team.
- 11:55Speaker 3: I don't think there's any appetite for just one.
- 11:59Speaker 2: I think it's going to be all or nothing. And
- 12:01Speaker 2: I understand why Adams saying it, and he's not lying
- 12:04Speaker 2: when he says it, but I don't think a thirty
- 12:07Speaker 2: one team league is gonna sit well with anybody either.
- 12:09Speaker 2: They're going to stay the way they are, or it's
- 12:11Speaker 2: going to be thirty two with two sixteen team conferences
- 12:14Speaker 2: and you move Minnesota to the east and you make
- 12:16Speaker 2: everything nice and even I think we'll get there. We'll
- 12:20Speaker 2: know a lot more in September. July will be important,
- 12:24Speaker 2: but that's just going to be more talk and I
- 12:27Speaker 2: think starting to thin the herd a little bit.
- 12:29Speaker 1: You raise the specter that Adam Spector raised that maybe
- 12:32Speaker 1: there's none and they won't expand at all. How possible
- 12:35Speaker 1: is that still? And is there a grow There was
- 12:38Speaker 1: James Dolan some talk with the Knick's owner was talking
- 12:41Speaker 1: about let's not divide this pie beyond thirty let's keep
- 12:44Speaker 1: all the money for ourselves and the new television rights
- 12:46Speaker 1: media rights deals. Do you think there's still a possibility
- 12:49Speaker 1: that this doesn't happen, They don't expand by any cities.
- 12:53Speaker 2: I do think it's a possibility, but I don't I
- 12:55Speaker 2: don't want that to be alarming, like it's it's and
- 12:59Speaker 2: I'm not saying that because well, anything's possible. That's not
- 13:02Speaker 2: what I mean. I do think there will be some
- 13:04Speaker 2: ownership groups that say, you know what, it's going really
- 13:09Speaker 2: well right now and I'm not particularly interested in selling
- 13:14Speaker 2: this much of the equity that the thirty of us
- 13:16Speaker 2: share to bring in two new groups. I don't want
- 13:20Speaker 2: to lose fans in some cases. I mean, look, if
- 13:25Speaker 2: you put a team in Vegas, you put a team
- 13:27Speaker 2: back in Seattle. And I'm not just saying this for
- 13:29Speaker 2: the audience, but where a team belongs, thank you, Seattle
- 13:34Speaker 2: deserves one.
- 13:35Speaker 1: We all know this.
- 13:36Speaker 2: How many teams what would I mean? Portland is going
- 13:40Speaker 2: to inevitably feel like, hey, we're going to lose some
- 13:43Speaker 2: fans out of this deal. Oklahoma City is obviously going
- 13:47Speaker 2: to say, hey, we might lose some fans out of
- 13:48Speaker 2: this deal. There will be some sentiment of you know what,
- 13:53Speaker 2: it's going really good for me. Why do I want
- 13:57Speaker 2: to help out these two places? Why do I want
- 13:59Speaker 2: to give up this much or risk this much? People
- 14:03Speaker 2: are gonna have to make really tough decisions on who
- 14:07Speaker 2: to protected an expansion draft. You're gonna lose players, so
- 14:11Speaker 2: you might lose a little bit of money, you might
- 14:13Speaker 2: lose some fans. You're gonna see other teams selling a
- 14:16Speaker 2: ton of merch, and you're gonna lose player capital. And
- 14:19Speaker 2: this thing too not to mention good coaches might be going.
- 14:22Speaker 2: There's there's a lot there's a lot of reasons why
- 14:26Speaker 2: the existing thirty might not love this very much, and
- 14:30Speaker 2: that's what's going on in the league office. Though. If
- 14:33Speaker 2: the league truly wants expansion, and I believe they do.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I believe Adam Silver wants this, then it's on him
- 14:42Speaker 2: to show why it makes sense for these thirty teams
- 14:46Speaker 2: to say, let's go to two incredible markets. Let's go
- 14:50Speaker 2: back to Seattle where it worked, and let's go to Vegas,
- 14:53Speaker 2: where we know it works because we've had a ten
- 14:55Speaker 2: pole event in Summer league there, they've had NBA Cup.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I don't think NBA Cup Final.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Was going to stay there.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I think it's going to move around now a bit.
- 15:03Speaker 2: But still Vegas is an epicenter for the NBA in
- 15:07Speaker 2: a lot of ways. We know it can support a
- 15:09Speaker 2: pro franchise. We've seen it now in hockey, in football,
- 15:12Speaker 2: We're going to see it in baseball. It's up to
- 15:16Speaker 2: Adam to sell why this works, and it's a dollars
- 15:20Speaker 2: and cents thing. I do think there's enough owners right now.
- 15:23Speaker 2: If the vote had to be today, guys, just to
- 15:25Speaker 2: underscore how I don't want this to be alarmist. If
- 15:28Speaker 2: a vote had to be today, I think it's Seattle
- 15:31Speaker 2: and Vegas. I think they're both in and I think
- 15:32Speaker 2: they're incomfortable, but there will be owners that are like,
- 15:35Speaker 2: I don't want this.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Tim, I ask, as far as Adam Silver's cell job,
- 15:40Speaker 1: how much does the fact that Melinda Gates has joined
- 15:45Speaker 1: the potential NBA ownership group the one roof sports and entertainment,
- 15:48Speaker 1: Samantha Halloway and the Kraken ownership, who also owned the
- 15:51Speaker 1: building that a new Sonics team would play in. They've
- 15:54Speaker 1: already stated, and I think it was strategic on one
- 15:57Speaker 1: roof sports and entertainment of Samantha Halloway's part, that they're
- 16:00Speaker 1: interested in bidding for the new NBA expansion team in Seattle.
- 16:03Speaker 1: To give the NBA owners an Adam Silver, I mean
- 16:06Speaker 1: at Gates name to join the NBA ownership realm. That
- 16:10Speaker 1: should be pretty attractive, shouldn't it. Yeah.
- 16:13Speaker 2: I think those Microsoft people tend to do pretty well
- 16:16Speaker 2: when they want to buy a team. I think we
- 16:18Speaker 2: saw that a few years ago a few miles down
- 16:20Speaker 2: the road from you guys. I don't think they needed
- 16:25Speaker 2: to put out something publicly. I think a lot of
- 16:27Speaker 2: that is right now. I think you need to. I
- 16:30Speaker 2: think putting out the statements that the ownership groups are
- 16:34Speaker 2: doing and will and will continue to do in the
- 16:38Speaker 2: coming weeks and months, I think that's almost to gauge
- 16:41Speaker 2: where's the fan what's the fan interest in this process? Like,
- 16:45Speaker 2: are fans really going to be into this? Do fans
- 16:48Speaker 2: have one more thing that they want to spend money on?
- 16:50Speaker 2: Take it to our expensive guys. We all know this,
- 16:53Speaker 2: you know, disposable income. Not everybody slush with it. Will
- 16:57Speaker 2: fans support it? And I think a lot of these groups,
- 17:00Speaker 2: maybe not so much in Missus Gates case, but in
- 17:04Speaker 2: a lot of cases, I do think a lot of
- 17:06Speaker 2: this is dipping a toe in the water. Let's see
- 17:09Speaker 2: what happens. Let's see what the interest is. Let's see
- 17:12Speaker 2: what the sign up for potential season tickets would be.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Are people willing to send small deposits, Let's really gauge
- 17:19Speaker 2: if they're interested. I think it's more about that than
- 17:23Speaker 2: I mean, anyone with this much money in the bank,
- 17:27Speaker 2: enough to buy enough to enough to say I own
- 17:30Speaker 2: an NBA team, They can get to Adam Silver and
- 17:33Speaker 2: Mark Tatum and all the decision makers in the league
- 17:35Speaker 2: and the other thirty owners and say I want to
- 17:39Speaker 2: do this. I mean they're probably at their mahjong games
- 17:41Speaker 2: to begin with, you know. I mean they know each
- 17:43Speaker 2: other in that world. They know each other. So I
- 17:47Speaker 2: don't think they need to put a lot of pressure
- 17:49Speaker 2: and say no, I'm involved, let's change things. I think
- 17:51Speaker 2: a lot of that is to see what the fan
- 17:53Speaker 2: interest really is and what the reaction is in those cities,
- 17:56Speaker 2: Like how committed are fans to saying we're going to
- 18:00Speaker 2: be there, We're going to be there for the long haul.
- 18:03Speaker 2: We've wanted this, thank you for doing this for us.
- 18:06Speaker 2: We'll do our part and we'll show.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Up for you.
- 18:08Speaker 2: I think it's more that than anything else in a
- 18:10Speaker 2: lot of cases.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Tim Renelds, the NBA writer for the Associated Press who's
- 18:15Speaker 1: been doing it for a long time at a great
- 18:18Speaker 1: elite level. I appreciate you joining us, sir. I'll let
- 18:20Speaker 1: you get back to the beach. I'll have to save
- 18:22Speaker 1: the Mackie question for you a different time, but it's
- 18:25Speaker 1: great to catch up here.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Mack he's really good guys, and when he does the
- 18:28Speaker 2: Michigan move to score, just all you all lose your mind.
- 18:31Speaker 2: He can pull that off. And I'm not on the beach,
- 18:33Speaker 2: by the way, I'm sitting in the parking lot of
- 18:35Speaker 2: what used to be called hard Rock Stadium in a
- 18:38Speaker 2: ram storm getting ready for Brazil Scotland. The beach. I
- 18:41Speaker 2: don't know where the beach is.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Come on falking like a true sports veteran sports writer.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I hear you, sir, Thanks Tim, enjoy the match, appreciate
- 18:50Speaker 1: your time, take care. Tim reynelds associated Yeah here and
- 18:54Speaker 1: I go way back when Dolphins Seahawks in the early
- 18:57Speaker 1: two thousand, joining us on the beacon, plumbing high on
- 19:00Speaker 1: us that he expects not in July at the Rookie League,
- 19:05Speaker 1: the summer league for rookie players and young players in
- 19:07Speaker 1: the NBA, but later at the fall September October time frame,
- 19:11Speaker 1: the fall owners meetings Border governor meetings and the NBA
- 19:15Speaker 1: has every year every fall in New York. That's when
- 19:17Speaker 1: he expects word on expansion. He said, if a vote
- 19:20Speaker 1: had to happen today, it would pass with both Las
- 19:23Speaker 1: Vegas and Seattle joining it, but that there's a lot
- 19:26Speaker 1: to get to until then, including some owners who still
- 19:29Speaker 1: don't want to divide that pie beyond the thirty teams
- 19:32Speaker 1: that already exist don't want to split any more revenues
- 19:34Speaker 1: of any more teams. He talks about expansion Draft and
- 19:38Speaker 1: the teams losing players of the expansion Draft, and prime
- 19:40Speaker 1: coaches who may be attracted to come to Seattle. So
- 19:43Speaker 1: still's work to do, but he expects it to get done.
- 19:46Speaker 1: If you missed the Tim Reynolds interview, it just caught
- 19:48Speaker 1: the end of it. You can hear the whole thing
- 19:49Speaker 1: in full on the iHeartRadio app nine through three KJAR,
- 19:53Speaker 1: or go to the our website Crystal post the podcast
- 19:56Speaker 1: later this afternoon at nine three kjar dot com. Fans
- 20:00Speaker 1: are walking right past me here at Jimmy's on First Downtown,
- 20:03Speaker 1: right across the street from Lumenfield, heading into Bosnia, Herzegovina
- 20:07Speaker 1: and Cutter. And it's not just fans of those teams.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I see Senegalese jerseys and flags. I see Team Mexico, Spain, Canada,
- 20:16Speaker 1: the United States, a lot of US jerseys down here
- 20:18Speaker 1: at Lumenfield for the third of six World Cup matches
- 20:21Speaker 1: that's about to start in thirty five minutes. In about
- 20:23Speaker 1: five minutes, you're gonna hear your part of the show,
- 20:26Speaker 1: your chance to be a part of the show. Four nine,
- 20:28Speaker 1: four or five one on the Dacoma Dodge text line.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Next on ninety three point three KJRFM, Welcome back to
- 20:39Speaker 1: Greg Real Show Christopher Kidd Live, but Jimmy's on first
- 20:42Speaker 1: across the street from Lumenfield where the stadium is filling
- 20:45Speaker 1: up for the third of six World Cup matches group
- 20:47Speaker 1: stage play between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Cutter. Not quite
- 20:52Speaker 1: as many fans outside the stadium as it were for
- 20:54Speaker 1: the United States in Australia, but still a large crowd expected,
- 20:58Speaker 1: perhaps in your capacity Winter in that match will play
- 21:01Speaker 1: the United States in around of thirty two on July
- 21:04Speaker 1: first in Santa Clara, California. You know what time it
- 21:07Speaker 1: is in the music plays, it's time for you to
- 21:08Speaker 1: be a part of the show and the Tacoma Dodge
- 21:10Speaker 1: text line fortnite four or five to one.
- 21:12Speaker 5: From the two five three Greg.
- 21:14Speaker 4: You brought up earlier via Twitter social media that Leonard
- 21:19Speaker 4: Williams is back in the gym, but he's also deadlifting barefoot,
- 21:23Speaker 4: and two five three says, I've been seeing a lot
- 21:25Speaker 4: of barefoot lifting in the gym lately.
- 21:27Speaker 5: Apparently it's more efficient and.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Maybe that's what you're saying about you don't have to
- 21:33Speaker 1: and dead weight and deadlifting in particular you don't have
- 21:35Speaker 1: to lift it as far.
- 21:37Speaker 4: And they follow up with balance and also stability. So yeah,
- 21:40Speaker 4: I think I think two five three nails it. Good
- 21:43Speaker 4: morning boys from the seven to eight. Any idea where
- 21:45Speaker 4: the hell that is?
- 21:46Speaker 1: Greg? So no, I thought my head, I'll just guess I'll.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Have to double back on that and look it up.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Was wondering if you guys have heard anything new about
- 21:58Speaker 4: the Seattle SuperSonics.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Western suburb of Chicago. I just looked it up.
- 22:03Speaker 5: Oh that was quick.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Thanks for listening from Chicago.
- 22:07Speaker 4: The question about the Sonic sale anything any news? I
- 22:10Speaker 4: know you asked Tim about it. We just heard Tim
- 22:13Speaker 4: Reynolds saying the last segment.
- 22:14Speaker 1: If you missed it, go to the iHeartRadio app nine
- 22:16Speaker 1: through three kjar dot com for the podcast to get it.
- 22:18Speaker 1: But Tim Reynolds, the NBA writer, said that he believes
- 22:21Speaker 1: not in the Summer League Board of Governors meetings next
- 22:24Speaker 1: month in Las Vegas, but in the September Annual Board
- 22:28Speaker 1: of Governors meetings, the fall meetings that the League has
- 22:30Speaker 1: every September in New York city is when he believes
- 22:34Speaker 1: there will be a decision to announce, the league will
- 22:36Speaker 1: announce and Adam Silwell will announce the expansion decision in September.
- 22:41Speaker 1: He says that if the vote was today, it would
- 22:43Speaker 1: be done. Las Vegas and Seattle would both be in
- 22:46Speaker 1: and the play would begin in a twenty twenty eight
- 22:48Speaker 1: twenty nine season, he said. Tim Reynolds, the NBA writer
- 22:52Speaker 1: for the Associated Press, also said on our air about
- 22:54Speaker 1: ten minutes ago, there is a block still of owners
- 22:57Speaker 1: in the NBA who do not want to split the
- 22:59Speaker 1: pipe on the thirty teams currently in the league with
- 23:03Speaker 1: the new multi billion dollar media rights deals that the
- 23:06Speaker 1: league has recently signed, and that there are some owners
- 23:09Speaker 1: who don't want to go to thirty two teams for
- 23:10Speaker 1: diluting that revenue. Tim Reynolds also said there's the thought
- 23:14Speaker 1: of teams don't want to lose players to an expansion
- 23:17Speaker 1: draft with two teams coming in at the same time.
- 23:19Speaker 1: He mentioned Adam silver yesterday in as pre draft press conference,
- 23:22Speaker 1: mentioning the possibility of one team instead of two, possibility
- 23:26Speaker 1: of no teams at all, and the expansion of and
- 23:29Speaker 1: Tim Reynolds said, I'm not to be an alarmist for that.
- 23:31Speaker 1: He thinks that's the commissioner just covering all his bases.
- 23:34Speaker 1: It doesn't make any sense. Tim Reynolds said for the
- 23:36Speaker 1: league to only expand by one team, to have a
- 23:40Speaker 1: thirty one team league with uneven numbers of player teams
- 23:43Speaker 1: and conferences for travel and scheduling and other purposes. And
- 23:47Speaker 1: he also thinks, as he again he underlined, he thinks
- 23:50Speaker 1: it is going to get done, and he thinks it's
- 23:51Speaker 1: going to happen in September at the Board of Governor's
- 23:54Speaker 1: meetings in New York, that the league will announce it.
- 23:56Speaker 1: He said. Adam Silver wants to get it done. Now,
- 23:58Speaker 1: he's got to convince the owners to do it.
- 24:00Speaker 5: Wow, all right from the two five to three.
- 24:02Speaker 4: Speaking of the Mariners beer garden earlier in the show,
- 24:06Speaker 4: I had a little mini rant about the beer garden. AnyWho,
- 24:09Speaker 4: they've basically done the same thing in the north end
- 24:12Speaker 4: zone at the Seahawks games under the Hawks nest. As
- 24:15Speaker 4: a season ticket holder that now has to navigate that
- 24:18Speaker 4: down to my seats is rather annoying, especially now people
- 24:22Speaker 4: watch the game from the rail at fifty percent of
- 24:24Speaker 4: the cost that we pay.
- 24:27Speaker 1: There is a platform there. In fact, Q thirteen Fox
- 24:31Speaker 1: thirteen in Seattle has been broadcasting their postgame shows from
- 24:35Speaker 1: that perch that's just to the left or right of
- 24:37Speaker 1: the Hawks nets. There's a gap there in the open
- 24:39Speaker 1: side of the downtown side of the stadium. One thing
- 24:41Speaker 1: you will notice, and I think if you look closely
- 24:44Speaker 1: at the World Cup match coverage, you will see, especially postgame,
- 24:47Speaker 1: when the fans are no longer sitting in those seats
- 24:49Speaker 1: on the north side instead of the Remember the old
- 24:51Speaker 1: Hawks nests used to be the metal bleachers retained from
- 24:55Speaker 1: the Kingdome that used to be almost in the exact
- 24:58Speaker 1: spot that the north end zone is Womenfield. Remember the
- 25:01Speaker 1: Kingdome was basically a north end zone in the north
- 25:04Speaker 1: half of the north parking lot. That north parking lot
- 25:06Speaker 1: of the current stadium used to be double that size,
- 25:08Speaker 1: and then the Kingdom was right where this current lumenfield is. Well,
- 25:12Speaker 1: those metal bleachers that came from the Kingdom that was
- 25:14Speaker 1: the Hawk's nest in Womenfield are now seatbacks. They are chairs,
- 25:19Speaker 1: just like most of the rest of the stadium, and
- 25:22Speaker 1: they are painted in such a way that when no
- 25:24Speaker 1: one's sitting on there. Here was the Seahawks logo design,
- 25:28Speaker 1: so there's a completely redifferent look to those seats. And
- 25:31Speaker 1: I would guess, and I've heard anecdotally from Sea Hawk
- 25:34Speaker 1: season ticket holders, the prices for those seats have then
- 25:36Speaker 1: gone up because they're no longer metal benches, but they're
- 25:40Speaker 1: seatbacks in the north end zone. So we'll see about
- 25:45Speaker 1: what the fan experiences with new seats in the north
- 25:47Speaker 1: end of the Cock's Nest, the downtown side of the
- 25:50Speaker 1: King Street Station side of the stadium.
- 25:52Speaker 4: I think you have to ask the mayor of this
- 25:54Speaker 4: Greg and this is from the two o six, what
- 25:56Speaker 4: is Ian going to be paying more attention to his show?
- 25:59Speaker 4: Orzel in Canada up in Vancouver.
- 26:02Speaker 1: The Canadian Ian forness, Yes, former soccer guy. Remember he
- 26:05Speaker 1: was a goalkeeper at Oday High School. Chris is school
- 26:08Speaker 1: the soccer guy, so he's a soccer dude. Yes, Switzerland
- 26:12Speaker 1: and Canada are playing in Vancouver at BC Place at
- 26:15Speaker 1: the same time Cutter and Bosnia Herzgovina kicking off here
- 26:18Speaker 1: in Seattle, with Canada needing that win to advance to
- 26:22Speaker 1: the round of thirty two, which is the point of
- 26:24Speaker 1: the texture there. I'll have one eye, I'm sure maybe
- 26:27Speaker 1: an eye and a half on the Canada's way. Every
- 26:29Speaker 1: time he comes into the studio at the end of
- 26:32Speaker 1: my show, at the beginning of his, he flips the
- 26:33Speaker 1: TV on. There's a TV straight in front of me
- 26:36Speaker 1: in the studio back at Elliott Bay, and I turn
- 26:39Speaker 1: it off every time I come in because it's just distracting.
- 26:41Speaker 1: I'd rather talk to you the listener, and talk to Chris,
- 26:44Speaker 1: and I don't need a TV in front of me.
- 26:46Speaker 1: And then as soon as I come in and puts
- 26:49Speaker 1: it on to better whether there's a game on or not.
- 26:50Speaker 1: So he will absolutely have the Canada Switzerland game on
- 26:54Speaker 1: his television as he joins us in the next fifteen
- 26:56Speaker 1: to twenty minutes.
- 26:58Speaker 4: The last one for me is that the mayor on
- 26:59Speaker 4: de I'm mainly discouraged. I'm mainly discouraged by the NBA
- 27:04Speaker 4: because they just do isolation in back end plays. I'd
- 27:07Speaker 4: rather watch college where they run offenses and get called
- 27:09Speaker 4: for traveling in fouls.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Did I text? That? Was that from me?
- 27:14Speaker 4: It doesn't say Greg Bell, you've heard me say that.
- 27:16Speaker 4: What do you take Chris in terms? I think it's
- 27:20Speaker 4: just the game has just it's just different. I'm sure
- 27:23Speaker 4: back in the thirties people are like, I don't want
- 27:25Speaker 4: to see players dunking, And that's just how the game's
- 27:28Speaker 4: gonna grow. People are gonna do things that are they
- 27:31Speaker 4: travels like they're using their pivot foot.
- 27:33Speaker 5: It's it's become crazy.
- 27:34Speaker 4: You're seeing the Euro expand the game is just gonna
- 27:37Speaker 4: continue to evolve. Thirty years from now, I could be
- 27:39Speaker 4: like the NBA sucks because I don't know what they're
- 27:41Speaker 4: gonna be doing. Thirty years from now, I will be
- 27:43Speaker 4: very old and cranky, so I just have to wait
- 27:46Speaker 4: and see. But so far, it's just athletic. Athleticism continues
- 27:50Speaker 4: to get better and better. You got guys like Wimby
- 27:52Speaker 4: pushing the meter in terms of what you can do.
- 27:55Speaker 4: I mean, my goodness, someone would have told you back
- 27:57Speaker 4: in nineteen ninety two. Year, Yeah, there's gonna be a
- 27:59Speaker 4: seven three guy coming in with a handle, ink and
- 28:01Speaker 4: shoot and get to the basket. You'd laugh and say
- 28:04Speaker 4: that's an alien.
- 28:05Speaker 1: They don't exist. Moving on, the eurostep has become the eurostep,
- 28:10Speaker 1: the Asia step, the South America, North America Antarctica step
- 28:14Speaker 1: in the NBA. I mean, dude's ticking like nine steps
- 28:17Speaker 1: before the year shooter. Get rid of the ball real quick.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Jim on the text line from the four tow five says, Yep,
- 28:24Speaker 1: the Hawk's nest heats went up twelve hundred bucks this year.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Win a Super Bowl, paint the seats, put seatbacks in
- 28:31Speaker 1: twelve hundred bucks. Yep. Here you there's a complain of
- 28:36Speaker 1: season ticket on rent. Your team just won the Super Bowl.
- 28:40Speaker 1: I guess that's part of the price of winning a
- 28:41Speaker 1: Super Bowl too. Yep, thanks for that, Jim, appreciate the update.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I'd heard that anecdotally from a couple other people as well.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Up next, the mayor Maple Valley Ian fornasill join us
- 28:50Speaker 1: tell us what he's got cooking beside watching Canada and
- 28:52Speaker 1: Switzerland with one eye, starting at noon on his show
- 28:55Speaker 1: from twelve until three. I'm at Jimmy's on first right
- 28:57Speaker 1: across the street from Leominfield, where bosni hears go to
- 29:00Speaker 1: Cutter about the kickoff in the World Cup ninety three
- 29:03Speaker 1: point three kJ R of them, welcome back to the show.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Good luck to Brennan sores Be, trying to prove he's
- 29:12Speaker 1: subject to a CBA in a league he's not yet
- 29:14Speaker 1: a player for doesn't apply to him. Craig Bell, Christopher
- 29:18Speaker 1: Kidd live from Jimmy's on First I'm right across the
- 29:21Speaker 1: street from Loomenfield. World Cup is back on today at noon,
- 29:25Speaker 1: ten minutes away or so from Cutter and Bosne Hersgovina
- 29:29Speaker 1: back at the studio at Late Based Studios, Christopher Kidd
- 29:31Speaker 1: and I for ness.
- 29:33Speaker 6: Okay, so it's Cutter. We're going Cutter. I've heard of Cutter, Buddy,
- 29:36Speaker 6: I've heard, I've I've never heard a country mispronounced, honestly mispronounced,
- 29:40Speaker 6: because it feels like there's multiple pronunciations. Yes, Cutter and
- 29:44Speaker 6: Katar right on the two you here most often, and
- 29:46Speaker 6: I swear on the last their last game, I heard
- 29:49Speaker 6: both during the broadcast.
- 29:52Speaker 1: I think I think I've said both today.
- 29:53Speaker 6: Yay, So we're gonna go with Cutter.
- 29:55Speaker 1: I walked in with people along First Avenue. Okay, appeared
- 29:59Speaker 1: to be rooting for for Cutter, who said Cutter Okay.
- 30:01Speaker 6: No, I doesn't mean they're from there, though, I.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Guess that doesn't It could it could be from I
- 30:09Speaker 1: don't know.
- 30:12Speaker 6: By the gondo A day with Chris Kidd, who knows, man,
- 30:15Speaker 6: that's your job, that's your job. When you get over
- 30:17Speaker 6: there today, find out and text me how do you
- 30:19Speaker 6: pronounce the damn name of the country.
- 30:21Speaker 1: That might be the story I write for the News
- 30:23Speaker 1: Tribute and get it to the bottom of that.
- 30:25Speaker 6: To the bottom of that.
- 30:26Speaker 1: The text line says, you're gonna have one eye on
- 30:28Speaker 1: Canada's Switzerland.
- 30:29Speaker 6: I've got that on TV.
- 30:31Speaker 1: I knew you already would I the other game.
- 30:33Speaker 6: I'll check at two o'clock. We got Andrews and Jackson
- 30:36Speaker 6: coming in it too, to do a little uh because
- 30:38Speaker 6: by then the game should be close to being over
- 30:41Speaker 6: and maybe we'll have a better idea what's going to
- 30:43Speaker 6: happen with the US and in the round of thirty two.
- 30:45Speaker 6: So I'll let those guys tell me that.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:48Speaker 6: Well, first of all, Canada, they're playing in BC again,
- 30:51Speaker 6: right in Vancouver. The atmosphere is the only atmosphere better
- 30:55Speaker 6: than the World Cup right now than that is in Seattle. Yes, period, Right,
- 30:59Speaker 6: So I want to watch that. I want to get
- 31:01Speaker 6: into that.
- 31:01Speaker 1: The winner, as mas Vita Marrera said to us at
- 31:04Speaker 1: the top of the show, the winner of the Cutter
- 31:07Speaker 1: Qatar Growth, Cutter Bosnia Herzegovina match will play the United
- 31:11Speaker 1: States in the round of thirty two, right, But then
- 31:13Speaker 1: if it ends in a draw. Then it could be
- 31:14Speaker 1: Senegal or a host of others. We want it.
- 31:16Speaker 6: We want a win. Yes, I think is what we
- 31:19Speaker 6: want because I think that they're the winner of this
- 31:23Speaker 6: game coming up at Lumen sorry Seattle whatever, at Luminfield.
- 31:27Speaker 6: The winner of that game is the lesser of the
- 31:30Speaker 6: evils in the round of thirty two, like they would
- 31:32Speaker 6: be the lesser opponent than what they could potentially see.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I believe, Yes, I don't like it was dangerous speed, Yes,
- 31:39Speaker 1: stain the way they play for sure.
- 31:41Speaker 6: Yeah, so that's what we want. We want that, so
- 31:43Speaker 6: let's get that.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I saw a man. Mike Benton posted some comments from
- 31:47Speaker 1: Bobby m McMahon Yeah, yeah, and one of them being interesting,
- 31:51Speaker 1: saying that he talked extensively with Lane Lambert and the
- 31:54Speaker 1: GM Jason Boto about the direction of the club and
- 31:57Speaker 1: how committed to winning and how soon they're going to
- 31:59Speaker 1: be win. How important that was the fact that he resigned,
- 32:02Speaker 1: said he must have liked what he heard. What'd you
- 32:04Speaker 1: take from that in particular, anything you might have heard
- 32:06Speaker 1: that McMahon.
- 32:07Speaker 6: Said, Yeah, all the above. He's coming on with us
- 32:10Speaker 6: at one today, so we'll see. I'll tell you what
- 32:13Speaker 6: I like about Bobby is it. First, he's really well spoken.
- 32:16Speaker 6: I knew that we had him on from the thirty
- 32:18Speaker 6: two at the end of the year last year, and
- 32:21Speaker 6: really well spoken, good dude, and has a lot to say,
- 32:25Speaker 6: very in depth in terms of how he's looking at
- 32:28Speaker 6: the organization. Is what he said in the media scrum,
- 32:31Speaker 6: like he likes what they're doing, the commitment and all
- 32:34Speaker 6: these things, and so I'll ask him about all those things. So, yeah,
- 32:37Speaker 6: I a little birdie told me he also met with
- 32:41Speaker 6: the owner directly, which.
- 32:43Speaker 1: How unusual is that for the kracking.
- 32:46Speaker 6: Well, I think for any organization to be honest with you, Greg,
- 32:49Speaker 6: I don't think. I think it's now and there's it,
- 32:52Speaker 6: you know. And I'll see if that's true with him
- 32:55Speaker 6: and if so. There's that fine line with owners, like
- 32:59Speaker 6: you want them to if you're a player, you probably
- 33:01Speaker 6: want them to be engaged and you want them to
- 33:05Speaker 6: care about, you know, all those things right at the
- 33:07Speaker 6: same time, you don't want them meddling, like all right,
- 33:11Speaker 6: there's that little fine line between how much is too
- 33:14Speaker 6: much with an owner involved with the team itself, players,
- 33:17Speaker 6: personnel decisions, all those things. But at the same time,
- 33:19Speaker 6: if you're gonna sign a big free agent contract. You
- 33:21Speaker 6: probably want them, you know, involved at some point. So
- 33:25Speaker 6: we'll see what he says about that at one o'clock.
- 33:27Speaker 6: I you know, you look around sports and there's owners.
- 33:30Speaker 6: Well hell, I mean our former Sonic owner wanted to
- 33:32Speaker 6: be buddies with all the players and then he wasn't.
- 33:34Speaker 6: Then he sold the team right in with Howie Howie Schultz.
- 33:38Speaker 6: So there's that. Fine lines we'll see I Bobby's, Bobby's
- 33:42Speaker 6: that's a big get. Yesterday was an interesting day for
- 33:45Speaker 6: the Kraken for sure, with the the with the audit
- 33:49Speaker 6: stuff and all that that came out and people mad
- 33:51Speaker 6: at the world, and you know that's fine. I mean,
- 33:55Speaker 6: people will be mad if they resign McMahon. There's people
- 33:57Speaker 6: to be mad if they didn't resign McMahon. There's people
- 33:59Speaker 6: I saw one thing, Greg, this is the greatest thing ever.
- 34:03Speaker 6: They need to get more score, Like they like, go
- 34:06Speaker 6: like draft a guy like someone referenced, like you know,
- 34:09Speaker 6: like you got to find a high level guy at
- 34:11Speaker 6: badar or or McDavid. It's like, guys, we start talking
- 34:16Speaker 6: about that, they're all number one overall, right, Like God,
- 34:20Speaker 6: give your head a shake. There are some really stupid
- 34:22Speaker 6: people out there there really are, like they're really honestly,
- 34:25Speaker 6: they're really a dumb people out there people too, but
- 34:28Speaker 6: there's some dump The smart people don't jump on social media.
- 34:31Speaker 6: The dumb people do. And then some of them actually
- 34:34Speaker 6: have blogs, you know, and and Lockey blogg is fear
- 34:38Speaker 6: sound of hockey. You guys are exemple. We love you guys,
- 34:40Speaker 6: John Barr and Darren Brown, the rest of you. You
- 34:43Speaker 6: got some problems, man, you got some deep seated problems,
- 34:46Speaker 6: like if you don't like the sport of the team,
- 34:48Speaker 6: don't cover them. I just I'll just say that. Sorry
- 34:50Speaker 6: about that. I had to go off on a tangent.
- 34:52Speaker 1: By the way across the street from me. Right now,
- 34:53Speaker 1: they're showing on the television broadcast the scene inside Loomenfield
- 34:59Speaker 1: looks just like the United States and Australia the sun.
- 35:01Speaker 1: The stadium is impacked, packed, It's absolutely packed. I don't
- 35:04Speaker 1: see any empty seats. So those of you might have thought,
- 35:07Speaker 1: oh this will be the match.
- 35:08Speaker 6: That was okay, That's what I was wondering, Greg, Is
- 35:10Speaker 6: it is it if today would be the day? Right
- 35:12Speaker 6: that it is packed? What about this Friday? What what's
- 35:15Speaker 6: Friday going to look like actually a match. Yeah, that's
- 35:18Speaker 6: a mass basically a playoff match.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Yeah, my son and I are going to be there.
- 35:22Speaker 1: And I just saw about a half hour ago one
- 35:25Speaker 1: of the last remaining ticket sites had one hundred and
- 35:27Speaker 1: forty one hundred and eighty four dollars to get into
- 35:29Speaker 1: this Bosnia Cutter match. Wow. So there may be a
- 35:32Speaker 1: lot of local people have been waiting to watch the
- 35:34Speaker 1: World Cup match. You might be in there.
- 35:35Speaker 6: I'm watching Canada the anthems for Canada and Switzerland right
- 35:38Speaker 6: now and in BC place to say it's a sea
- 35:41Speaker 6: of red is a massive understatement. And the crazy thing
- 35:44Speaker 6: is it's like like Switzerland is like they're they're they're
- 35:49Speaker 6: also red, right, Canada is wearing white and the seas
- 35:53Speaker 6: are red and the seats are red. That it's just
- 35:55Speaker 6: it is insane there. Oh my god, does it look
- 35:58Speaker 6: crazy there? So yeah, good day for a good day
- 36:00Speaker 6: for soccer. Coming orry Bobby McMahon at one Yeah, Bobby BC. Yeah,
- 36:05Speaker 6: Bobby mcman at one o'clock today, two o'clock, Andrews and
- 36:08Speaker 6: Jackson furious FIFA felts will be rolling in here. We'll
- 36:11Speaker 6: get the latest on I think it's Fox has done
- 36:15Speaker 6: a good job really for the most part, but they
- 36:17Speaker 6: have done I think a disservice to the casual fan
- 36:21Speaker 6: explaining who's in, who's out, what games matter, why they matter,
- 36:25Speaker 6: or set you know. I think they've done a really
- 36:26Speaker 6: bad job with that. I think there's a little catering
- 36:30Speaker 6: too much, especially with all of the people who this
- 36:33Speaker 6: is me hang on, be an ugly American warning when
- 36:38Speaker 6: you have hosts and so forth, that you know English,
- 36:41Speaker 6: it's a second language. It's hard and it's so I
- 36:45Speaker 6: want explanations as to who why did you just mentioned
- 36:47Speaker 6: it Friday's elimination game. I want to know what these
- 36:50Speaker 6: games mean, like what they mean, and I think the
- 36:52Speaker 6: casual fan does too, So those guys will explain that,
- 36:54Speaker 6: especially as it relates to the US. At two o'clock,
- 36:56Speaker 6: we'll get in a little NBA expansion talk in the
- 37:00Speaker 6: New Hour. As was I heard that. Yeah, so we'll
- 37:04Speaker 6: go a little sound for Adam Silver. We're gonna play
- 37:06Speaker 6: so it's new, So we'll get to that coming up
- 37:09Speaker 6: in NBA Expansion New stuff.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Alert Saddle's favorite man on your air just in a
- 37:14Speaker 1: few minutes.
- 37:15Speaker 6: I don't like him, but that's fine.
- 37:16Speaker 1: You're not alone, No, No, Andes Anderson Hurst, Jessman McIntyre
- 37:21Speaker 1: joining you next from twelve until three. I'm heading across
- 37:23Speaker 1: the street to the stadium to the World Cup in Seattle, Bosnia.
