Speaker 1: Verdict with Ted Cruz on YouTube channel as well. Senator,
• 0:28
Speaker 1: We've got quite a show to chat about today, including
• 0:32
Speaker 1: Gavin Newsom. He's a little cranky with us after our
• 0:35
Speaker 1: last episode. Apparently he didn't have a dictionary with him
• 0:38
Speaker 1: and he couldn't use AI apparently to figure out what
• 0:41
Speaker 1: we were talking about, and that's what made him so mad.
• 0:45
Speaker 2: Well, look, we need to have an intervention. Gavin Newsom
• 0:48
Speaker 2: is having a hysterical bout of crying anxiety because the
• 0:55
Speaker 2: last episode of Verdict criticized his imbecility and anti American
• 1:00
Speaker 2: leftism as he traveled to Europe to attack this country
• 1:04
Speaker 2: and to say things that are blatantly false. It does
• 1:07
Speaker 2: help that that that that even Twitter, which sometimes can
• 1:10
Speaker 2: be a fairly lefty forum, lit the poor guy on fire.
• 1:16
Speaker 2: I mean, it was so bad I almost felt sorry
• 1:20
Speaker 2: for his very pretty anti American leftist self. Uh, you know, look,
• 1:28
  Speaker 2: I'm a I'm a lover, not a fighter. You know, Ben,
• 1:32
Speaker 2: you're sometimes really harsh. I'm all about the love.
• 1:38
Speaker 1: Twitter account for proof. Right, I there, there you go.
• 1:42
Speaker 2: We're also going to talk about comrade Mundami. But Comrade
• 1:44
Speaker 2: Mondami has been in office a little over a month,
• 1:48
Speaker 2: and shock of all shock, what is he doing? To
• 1:51
Speaker 2: start off with, He's proposing a massive tax increase on
• 1:55
Speaker 2: the citizens of New York that will result in rents
• 1:59
Speaker 2: going up. And and there is an irony in this
• 2:01
Speaker 2: and that he campaigned on saying he was gonna freeze rents,
• 2:03
Speaker 2: but then he discovered, Okay, it turns out you need
• 2:06
Speaker 2: money to run a city, particularly if you want to
• 2:08
Speaker 2: run a socialist city where you want to spend massive
• 2:10
Speaker 2: amounts of money. And so we're gonna break down what
• 2:13
Speaker 2: he's doing. We're also going to talk about the left
• 2:16
Speaker 2: in Minneapolis is spending real money trying to promote jury nullification.
• 2:21
Speaker 2: They don't want violent radical activists to assault law enforcement
• 2:26
Speaker 2: officers to be convicted. They're undermining our justice system. We're
• 2:29
Speaker 2: gonna explain. And finally, at the end, we're gonna say
• 2:32
Speaker 2: goodbye to an American movie classic, Robert Duval, an extraordinary actor.
• 2:37
Speaker 2: We're gonna have a few words about him. He passed
• 2:39
Speaker 2: this week. He was ninety five years old. He led
• 2:42
Speaker 2: an incredible life. But nonetheless, we're gonna say our farewells
• 2:45
Speaker 2: to a one of a kind actor.
• 2:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, he really was. All right, if you have a dog,
• 2:52
Speaker 1: I've got a thirteen year old dog and a new puppy,
• 2:55
Speaker 1: and there's one thing I'm doing for both them. It
• 2:57
Speaker 1: is giving them rough greens on their food, which is
• 3:01
Speaker 1: really helping them live a quality and the best life
• 3:04
Speaker 1: that you can give your dog. Now, I've been telling
• 3:07
Speaker 1: you about my older dog and some of the symptoms
• 3:10
Speaker 1: that he was having, slowing down and itching and having
• 3:13
Speaker 1: bad breath, losing interest in playtime. That is just part
• 3:18
Speaker 1: of the aging process, but it doesn't have to be.
• 3:20
Speaker 1: And after just a few weeks of rough greens, we
• 3:23
Speaker 1: start to see a real difference. The stuff is truly amazing,
• 3:27
Speaker 1: and if you have a dog you love, you've got
• 3:30
Speaker 1: to try rough Greens for your dog for life. It
• 3:33

• 4:46
Speaker 1: And you, you reluctantly said, at the very end of
• 4:49
Speaker 1: the show we were going to talk about Robert Duvall's passing.
• 4:51
Speaker 1: I just am gonna do that right now, because you're
• 4:54
Speaker 1: such a movie buff guy, and you're and and this
• 4:57
Speaker 1: is I just I this is me, sir, you center
• 5:01
Speaker 1: knowing that this is top of mind for you. He
• 5:04
Speaker 1: and it's because of the movies that he was in.
• 5:06
Speaker 1: And let's just start with a godfather real quick.
• 5:09
Speaker 2: Look, Robert Devali lived to ninety five years old. He
• 5:13
Speaker 2: was an incredible actor. He's one of the greatest actors
• 5:15
Speaker 2: of his generation. He was in his first major movie
• 5:19
Speaker 2: movie role was in Too Kill a Mockingbird, where he
• 5:23
Speaker 2: played Bu Radley and and and he had no lines,
• 5:27
Speaker 2: but he just simply through his face he turned sort
• 5:30
Speaker 2: of a weird, freakish scary guy into someone deeply empathetic
• 5:36
Speaker 2: and and and and it was. It was an introduction
• 5:40
Speaker 2: to a career where he had classic roles. He had
• 5:44
Speaker 2: classic roles in in Lonesome Dove, where he was the
• 5:48
Speaker 2: most badass Texas ranger to have ever lived.
• 5:52
  Speaker 3: Uh.
• 5:52
Speaker 2: He had a classic role in Apocalypse. Now, look the
• 5:59
Speaker 2: frame I love the smell of napalm in the morning
• 6:04
Speaker 2: is an American classic. And for him to be squatting down,
• 6:09
Speaker 2: bare chested just explaining that. And the look of the
• 6:12
Speaker 2: young gi is looking at the guy going dude, what
• 6:16
Speaker 2: ye like? That conveys a lot. But of all of
• 6:19
Speaker 2: the roles, the one that that that is my favorite.
• 6:23
Speaker 2: And and and it's a sentimental it is from the Godfather.
• 6:29
Speaker 2: He was Tom Hagen. He was the lawyer to the
• 6:32
Speaker 2: Corleoni family, but he was an adopted brother. And and
• 6:36
Speaker 2: of course in the second movie he gets let go
• 6:40
Speaker 2: by Michael Corleoni because Michael says, you're not a wartime counculiary,
• 6:44
Speaker 2: You're a peacetime counculiary. And and and and the portrayal
• 6:48
Speaker 2: he plays of sort of the calm lawyer for the mob,
• 6:54
Speaker 2: lawyer for men's murderers. The lawyer comes in and says,
• 6:58
Speaker 2: you don't want to screw with the Corleone family. I
• 7:02
Speaker 2: gotta say, you know, it's interesting. In twenty eleven, Robert
• 7:05
Speaker 2: Duval was named an honorary Texas Ranger and it was
• 7:10
Speaker 2: his Lonesome Dove portrayal, but it is still he was
• 7:13
Speaker 2: not actually a Texan. He was from California and Virginia
• 7:16
Speaker 2: and Maryland. But but Texas loved him. Yeah, and he
• 7:21
Speaker 2: loved Texas. It was a mutual arrangement. I gotta say,
• 7:28
Speaker 2: I'm sad. Look at ninety five. You know, every one
• 7:31
Speaker 2: of us is on a journey where we're going to
• 7:34
Speaker 2: shuffle off this mortal coil. But his acting body of
• 7:40
Speaker 2: work is incredible, incredible. He was very close with Gene Hackman,
• 7:45
Speaker 2: another one of my favorite actors, and Dustin Hoffman, another
• 7:49
Speaker 2: incredible actor. They used to be roommates, they worked together.
• 7:53
Speaker 2: I gotta say, Gene Hackman, I could watch Gene Hackman
• 7:56
Speaker 2: reading the newspaper and riveted. I mean, and he was
• 8:01
Speaker 2: another actor in his nineties or just passed away. We're
• 8:05
Speaker 2: losing modern day legends. But but you know, Robert Duval
• 8:11
Speaker 2: a life well lived. And actually I'm gonna call an audible.
• 8:17
Speaker 2: I want to play. I want to play, and particularly
• 8:20
Speaker 2: for those of you watching this on YouTube, I want
• 8:23
Speaker 2: to play a clip from one of Robert Duval's great moments.
• 8:29
Speaker 1: Give a watch now, just for context, for everybody that's
• 8:33
Speaker 1: listening in the audio world only. This is a scene
• 8:37
Speaker 1: from back in two thousand and three second hand lions
• 8:40
Speaker 1: where two old guys walk into a bar with a
• 8:43
Speaker 1: bunch of young punks. Here it is, Hey, oh.
• 8:46
Speaker 3: Man, how's that barbecue? Give me something? We're busy and
• 8:51
Speaker 3: we'll get lost, all right? What did you say? Here's
• 8:57
Speaker 3: a perfect example of what I've been talking about.
• 9:00
Speaker 4: Since his boy was suckling on his mama's.
• 9:02
Speaker 3: Side, he's been given everything but discipline.
• 9:04
Speaker 4: And now his idea of couraging man who get together
• 9:07
Speaker 4: with a bunch of punk friends and ride around irritating
• 9:09
Speaker 4: folks to good nature to put a stole to it.
• 9:13
Speaker 3: Hey, who do you think you are? Huh?
• 9:16
  Speaker 2: Just dumb kids?
• 9:17
Speaker 3: Don't kill him hugging a can.
• 9:22
Speaker 2: I fought in two wars and countless smaller ones on
• 9:24
  Speaker 2: three continents.
• 9:25
Speaker 4: I led thousands of men into battle with everything, with
• 9:27
Speaker 4: horses and swords to artillery and tanks.
• 9:30
Speaker 3: I've seen the head waters.
• 9:31
Speaker 4: Of the Nile and tribes of the natives no white
• 9:33
  Speaker 4: man I'd.
• 9:33
  Speaker 3: Ever seen before.
• 9:35
Speaker 4: I've won and lost a dozen fortunes, kill them any man,
• 9:38
Speaker 4: and loved only one woman with a passion of flee
• 9:41
Speaker 4: like you could never begin to understand.
• 9:44
  Speaker 3: That's who I am. So these o'facets. She's talking gut
• 9:48
  Speaker 3: you not Yeah.
• 9:51
Speaker 2: Now, boys, you're fixed and let those teenage hormones gets
• 9:55
Speaker 2: you into the world of trouble.
• 9:58
Speaker 3: And my guard that I asked you to in up.
• 10:00
Speaker 3: You just come out of hospital. Well there's there's only
• 10:04
Speaker 3: four of them. Yeah.
• 10:06
Speaker 2: Well look you foed this one first and no, no,
• 10:09
Speaker 2: like you fight the other three after.
• 10:10
Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, what is getting now? You you better pick
• 10:16
Speaker 3: that knife up, your son. You're gonna need all the
• 10:20
Speaker 3: help you can get. Alderstricken the book. Okay, hold it wrong,
• 10:36
Speaker 3: so not like this. You always get like this smooth right,
• 10:40
Speaker 3: try to come on, franky stop three better get in
• 10:53
  Speaker 3: there and help.
• 10:55
Speaker 1: It's so good. I just by the way, if you're
• 10:57
Speaker 1: listening audio only, I wish two things. We haven't watched
• 11:01
Speaker 1: that clip. You need to watch that clip.
• 11:03
Speaker 2: I mean, you've got Robert Duvall as an old dude.
• 11:06
Speaker 2: You've got Michael Kane and as his buddy, and then
• 11:10
Speaker 2: you've got Haley Joel Osmond as the young kid watching
• 11:14
Speaker 2: this old dude beat the living crap out of these
• 11:18
Speaker 2: four punks. And and and it's you know, I love
• 11:22
Speaker 2: Michael Kane comes back with a shotgun and it's like,
• 11:24
Speaker 2: all right, let me stop you because I got four
• 11:25
Speaker 2: guys with a knife. Drop your knives. They dropped their
• 11:29
Speaker 2: knives and and Robert Deaval is like, come on, let
• 11:31
Speaker 2: me let me fight him. And he's like, okay, fight
• 11:34
Speaker 2: the first one. You pick your knife up. The other
• 11:36
Speaker 2: three stay back, and then once you beat him up,
• 11:37
Speaker 2: you can beat the other three.
• 11:39
  Speaker 4: Like it.
• 11:39
Speaker 2: It's classic old like badass and and and that that
• 11:47
Speaker 2: that is Robert Duvall.
• 11:49
Speaker 1: By the way, did you ever see Gone in sixty Seconds?
• 11:51
Speaker 1: Devall was in the Amazing He was I think it
• 11:54
Speaker 1: was Auto was his name in the movie. If you've
• 11:56
Speaker 1: never watched that one, Like, it's not it's just I
• 11:59
Speaker 1: grew up and he was younger and like fast cars
• 12:01
Speaker 1: and stealing cars and Nicholas Cage and Deval. He was
• 12:04
Speaker 1: unbelievable in that one as well. So grab it. Yeah,
• 12:07
Speaker 1: so there you go. All right, I'm glad we did it.
• 12:09
Speaker 1: I'm going to call the autobo hill, right, I knew you.
• 12:13
Speaker 2: Hold on a second, now, hold on, if you're gonna
• 12:16
Speaker 2: do this that there's another clip we get to watch,
• 12:19
Speaker 2: which which is from from Lonesome Dove Augustus McCrae walking
• 12:24
Speaker 2: in this old weather Texas ranger walking into a bar,
• 12:28
Speaker 2: and let's say there's a punk ass bartender back to you.
• 12:32
Speaker 2: There's a lot of similarity between these two scenes. But but,
• 12:35
Speaker 2: but it's part of why I love Duval. He got
• 12:37
Speaker 2: better as an old guy. So so listen to listen
• 12:40
Speaker 2: and watch this great clip from Lonesome Dove.
• 12:43
Speaker 1: What I like about the man he's a philosopher.
• 12:47
Speaker 3: I heard him giving you somebody to talk to.
• 12:50
Speaker 1: I'll pring the rest of us might well get a
• 12:52
  Speaker 1: little work now.
• 12:57
Speaker 4: I like a shot of whiskey, and so would my companion.
• 13:00
Speaker 3: It ain't too much trouble. Haddey boy, you got a
• 13:04
Speaker 3: good game going there?
• 13:06
Speaker 1: You got muddy years or what ry?
• 13:08
Speaker 3: Or will it be? Old timer?
• 13:10
  Speaker 1: Right?
• 13:11
Speaker 3: Will do provided to get you here?
• 13:12
Speaker 4: Qui durn cowboys hot to broom yourselves off where you
• 13:17
  Speaker 4: walk in here?
• 13:18
Speaker 3: You know all I'm saying, we need you without the
• 13:20
Speaker 3: customers bringing it in. That'll be a dollar.
• 13:25
Speaker 4: Besides the whiskey I think will require a little respect.
• 13:29
Speaker 4: I'm Captain Augustus mccrane. This is Captain woodro f call.
• 13:35
Speaker 4: If you care to turn around, you can see how
• 13:38
Speaker 4: we look when we was younger. And the people around
• 13:40
Speaker 4: here wanted to make a senators. Now. The thing we
• 13:43
Speaker 4: didn't put up with then was dabbling service And as
• 13:46
Speaker 4: you can see, we still don't put up with it.
• 13:50
Speaker 1: By the way, in that scene, that's Tommy Lee Jones
• 13:52
Speaker 1: who says nothing at all, which is pretty funny, but
• 13:55
Speaker 1: you can tell in his facial expressions he's having the
• 13:58
Speaker 1: time of his life making this movie with Oh, no, no, and.
• 14:01
Speaker 2: And and they wanted Duval to play the role that
• 14:04
Speaker 2: Timmy Lee Jones played, and and have all said no.
• 14:07
Speaker 2: Augustus McCrae was the only role he played. Wouldn't do
• 14:10
Speaker 2: the movie if he didn't get get or the It
• 14:12
Speaker 2: was actually a television series, a four part series. But uh,
• 14:16
Speaker 2: you know it it Uh. He was just an all
• 14:20
Speaker 2: time classic years well if by the by the way,
• 14:24
Speaker 2: Duval insisted, do you know he's not having a funeral.
• 14:27
  Speaker 1: He's not.
• 14:28
Speaker 2: He said, don't have a ceremony for me. Just just
• 14:30
Speaker 2: go and watch a good movie, tell a good story,
• 14:34
Speaker 2: sit around with friends and loved ones. I mean, I mean,
• 14:36
Speaker 2: that really is Duvall. I wish I never got a
• 14:40
Speaker 2: chance to meet you ever.
• 14:41
Speaker 1: Did you ever meet him?
• 14:42
Speaker 2: He was a conservative. I heard fabulous things. I knew
• 14:46
Speaker 2: people who knew him. I wanted to meet him, but
• 14:49
Speaker 2: we just never crossed paths. But but, but my heart
• 14:53
Speaker 2: is beating for an American legend who left us.
• 14:57
Speaker 1: Let's get to the politics now, and and we'll start
• 15:01
Speaker 1: with uh, yeah, you couldn't get any further from Duval
• 15:03
Speaker 1: with Gavin Newsom. Gavin Newso trash center.
• 15:06
Speaker 2: No hold on a second, Gavin Newsom, he is the
• 15:10
Speaker 2: young punk in the bar.
• 15:11
  Speaker 1: That's true.
• 15:13
Speaker 2: And by the way, you and I get to be
• 15:15
Speaker 2: I think in this story Robert Duval and Tommy Lee Jones. Yes,
• 15:19
Speaker 2: although there is one thing that's stretching that, which is
• 15:21
Speaker 2: Tommy Lee Jones is silent in that scene. And Ben,
• 15:23
Speaker 2: you've never been silent in any scene.
• 15:25
Speaker 1: No, that's also very true. That's very That's why they
• 15:29
Speaker 1: pay me the big bucks. Right, That's that's why they
• 15:31
Speaker 1: pay me the big bucks.
• 15:32
Speaker 2: You know, like the old time lawyers.
• 15:34
Speaker 1: They pay you by the word. Yeah right, all right,
• 15:36
Speaker 1: So so let's send the stage for this story. You
• 15:39
Speaker 1: and I do a show. We talk about it. We're
• 15:41
Speaker 1: going to play part of that in a second. But
• 15:43
Speaker 1: I want to know when did you and who how
• 15:45
Speaker 1: fast did you find out after he tweeted at us
• 15:48
Speaker 1: getting all cranky, he got he got his under underwear
• 15:51
Speaker 1: in a wad. Is the is the way I described it.
• 15:53
Speaker 1: My phone, Actually, I started getting random texts from people
• 15:55
Speaker 1: and I'm like, what are you talking about? It was
• 15:57
  Speaker 1: in a meeting. I'm like what They're like, Dude, Newsom's
• 16:00
Speaker 1: throwing shade and he's really upset with you guys, And
• 16:02
Speaker 1: I was like, well, that's what I would expect from
• 16:04
Speaker 1: a California Liberal to be honest with you. When did
• 16:06
  Speaker 1: you find out?
• 16:08
Speaker 2: So our last podcast, we lit up AOC and Gretchen
• 16:13
Speaker 2: Whitmer and Gavin Newsom, all of whom went to Munich
• 16:17
Speaker 2: to the Munich Security Conference, and they all made fools
• 16:19
Speaker 2: of themselves. They're all trying to run for president, they're
• 16:21
Speaker 2: all trying to be impressive, and they all just like
• 16:24
Speaker 2: totally beclowned themselves, and AOC and Whitmer showed they know
• 16:28
Speaker 2: nothing about foreign policy or national security. Gavin Newsom did
• 16:31
Speaker 2: something different. He just decided to demonize law enforcement and
• 16:35
Speaker 2: he made a statement in particular, he said no president
• 16:37
Speaker 2: has ever before federalized the National Guard and that that's
• 16:42
Speaker 2: just laughably false. So I want to play the clip
• 16:44
Speaker 2: from what we said in the very last podcast, and
• 16:47
Speaker 2: this is the clip that's so triggered young Gavin.
• 16:50
Speaker 1: Listen's be very clear at center that is Gavin Newsom
• 16:55
Speaker 1: comparing American law enforcement to Nazis.
• 16:58
Speaker 2: Yep yep, which which, by the way, is what Obama
• 17:02
Speaker 2: was doing too. By the way, just like AOC and Whitmer,
• 17:06
Speaker 2: Newsom is apparently thoroughly historically illiterated. He said, We've never
• 17:09
Speaker 2: seen national guards federalized in the States. I guess his
• 17:14
Speaker 2: history book does not discuss the civil rights movement. He's
• 17:16
Speaker 2: never heard of a president named Dwight D. Eisenhower. He's
• 17:19
Speaker 2: never heard of sending the National Guard into Southern States.
• 17:22
Speaker 2: When Democrats who refused to desegregate schools resisted, Eisenhower sent
• 17:29
Speaker 2: the National Guard in The pattern is the same. In
• 17:32
Speaker 2: this instance you have Democrats who are saying we refuse
• 17:34
Speaker 2: to comply with federal immigration law. Then you had in
• 17:38
Speaker 2: the fifties and sixties you had democrats saying we refuse
• 17:41
Speaker 2: to comply with civil rights law. In both instances, it
• 17:45
Speaker 2: is lawless democrats attacking law enforcement. Gavin Newsom is proudly
• 17:52
Speaker 2: following the tradition of bull Connor, another Democrat politician.
• 17:57
Speaker 1: That's all that you really said? And then his response
• 18:01
Speaker 1: was a total freak out.
• 18:02
Speaker 2: Yeah, so Gavin on Twitter, he sent out a tweet
• 18:06
Speaker 2: and like all good Democrats when when caught being full
• 18:10
Speaker 2: of crap, he responds by attacking and screaming you cannot
• 18:15
Speaker 2: criticize me. And in particular what he said is Ted
• 18:18
Speaker 2: Cruz calling a dyslexic person illiterate is a new low,
• 18:24
Speaker 2: even for him. Now let's start out first of all,
• 18:27
Speaker 2: who the hell knew Gavin Newsom was dyslexic? I didn't
• 18:30
Speaker 2: know that, did you?
• 18:30
Speaker 1: Did you know that? And you know it's funny I'm dyslexic,
• 18:34
Speaker 1: but that doesn't mean you're stupid.
• 18:35
Speaker 2: By the way, By the way, I didn't know you
• 18:37
  Speaker 2: were dyslexic either.
• 18:39
Speaker 1: Yeah, because I don't use as a crutch. But like,
• 18:41
Speaker 1: since Gavin's bringing up like it's some like you're like
• 18:43
Speaker 1: you went off the rails on him, Like how dare
• 18:46
Speaker 1: you do? Like I'm dyslexic doesn't mean you're dumb. It
• 18:48
Speaker 1: don't make you mean stupid statements because you're dyslexic, Like
• 18:51
Speaker 1: you can still be intelligent and be dyslexic. Buddy yea.
• 18:54
Speaker 2: So Gavin's descent the defense is is you're not allowed
• 18:58
Speaker 2: to criticize me because I have a disability. That is,
• 19:02
Speaker 2: if there's anything to embody the idiocy of today's Democrat party,
• 19:05
Speaker 2: that does it pretty well. So it's interesting. I sent
• 19:08
Speaker 2: two responses. The first response I sent was, I didn't
• 19:13
Speaker 2: say you couldn't read you clown with the emoji of
• 19:17
Speaker 2: the clown. I said you were quote historically illiterate because
• 19:25
Speaker 2: you apparently have no idea that Eisenhower federalized the National
• 19:28
Speaker 2: Guard to stop Democrat governors from defying federal law. Specifically,
• 19:34
Speaker 2: on September twenty third, nineteen fifty seven, President Eisenhower issued
• 19:37
Speaker 2: Executive Order one zero seven three zero federalizing the Arkansas
• 19:42
Speaker 2: National Guard and ordering US Army troops one hundred and
• 19:44
Speaker 2: first Airborne Division to Little Rock, Arkansas, YEP. This action
• 19:49
Speaker 2: broke the blockade by Democrat Governor Orville Fabas allowing the
• 19:53
Speaker 2: Little Rock nine to desegregate Central High School. Now Gavin
• 19:58
Speaker 2: had no response to that. Now I got it, tell you,
• 20:00
Speaker 2: let me bring a little bit inside the scenes. So
• 20:03
Speaker 2: my team had a different response that they suggested, and
• 20:06
Speaker 2: I have a whole social media communications teams, they had
• 20:09
Speaker 2: a different response. Their different response was to send out
• 20:16
Speaker 2: a tweet with a GIF and a gif.
• 20:20
Speaker 1: Of ani video just so everybody doesn't know what that is.
• 20:23
  Speaker 2: Like.
• 20:23
Speaker 1: Some people may not realize with that, it's like the
• 20:25
Speaker 1: many little video kind of thing you send out.
• 20:28
Speaker 2: So it's Ben Stiller, a Zoolander, and he's looking down
• 20:31
Speaker 2: at a sign that says the Gavin Newsom Center for
• 20:34
Speaker 2: what kids who don't know what historically illiterate means and
• 20:38
Speaker 2: who want to learn to do other stuff good too.
• 20:42
Speaker 2: So that my team put that together. I did not
• 20:44
Speaker 2: put that together. I saw that and I sent mine instead.
• 20:50
Speaker 2: And then my team got all upset and they're like, wait,
• 20:53
Speaker 2: you didn't like ours, And I said, you know what,
• 20:56
Speaker 2: Let's have a competition send that one to. Let's put
• 21:00
Speaker 2: them both out and see which one wins. Both out
• 21:03
Speaker 2: in the internet and and see which one wins. So
• 21:06
Speaker 2: as of we're now twelve twenty one, am uh, the
• 21:13
Speaker 2: the Ben Stiller gift, which was clever, has gotten three
• 21:16
Speaker 2: hundred and ninety seven thousand views. Okay, the one I
• 21:20
Speaker 2: wrote has gotten a million views?
• 21:23
Speaker 1: So how long are you going to haze them on
• 21:25
Speaker 1: this data that you have that's undisputed.
• 21:28
Speaker 2: Okay, so so, not not to brag too much, but
• 21:31
Speaker 2: I did beat the team by two d and fifty percent.
• 21:36
Speaker 1: Just for everyone, I want to take them behind the
• 21:38
Speaker 1: scenes when when senator, when you are correct and your
• 21:41
Speaker 1: team has these moments, I enjoy not being on that team.
• 21:45
  Speaker 1: I enjoy being a spectator.
• 21:47
Speaker 3: But I do know.
• 21:48
Speaker 1: But hold on, hold on, I'm going to be gracious.
• 21:50
Speaker 2: I'm going to be gracious for a minute. Although I
• 21:53
Speaker 2: got two and a half times as much coverage as
• 21:55
Speaker 2: they did in terms of people watching it, I will
• 21:58
Speaker 2: say the comments on the gift, the folks that saw
• 22:01
Speaker 2: it loved it. So I'm just gonna go through a few.
• 22:06
Speaker 2: Joe Lonsdale, good friend of ours, big tech entrepreneur, has
• 22:08
Speaker 2: been on the podcast. He did the crying emoji. Another
• 22:12
Speaker 2: guy said, whoever came up with this memes needs a raise.
• 22:17
Speaker 2: Another guy said, sir, this is a ten for ten post.
• 22:19
Speaker 2: It's too bad news and won't be able to read it.
• 22:22
Speaker 2: Another person had a gift from the Simpsons. Hello nine
• 22:27
Speaker 2: one one, I'd like to report a murder.
• 22:31
  Speaker 4: It.
• 22:32
Speaker 2: The volume of comments the x trolling continues. Good good
• 22:37
Speaker 2: picture of Trump toasting crying Trump Emoji's crews clearly.
• 22:42
Speaker 3: Won this round. Boa haa haa haaha.
• 22:45
Speaker 2: It's like this put you in my top five favorite
• 22:49
Speaker 2: politicians I'm really depressed to or the other four. Well done,
• 22:54
Speaker 2: good sir, well done spitting out. He went to school
• 22:56
Speaker 2: at the Leering Schools.
• 22:58
Speaker 1: So the team is going to it accolades for quality
• 23:01
  Speaker 1: over quantity.
• 23:02
Speaker 2: That's so when I gave them that, actually their comments
• 23:05
Speaker 2: the people who saw it loved it. They're like, this
• 23:08
Speaker 2: is a friggin great comment. And and so you know
• 23:11
Speaker 2: what I said, I'm glad we sent them both. Yeah,
• 23:14
Speaker 2: we reached more people minehead kind of substance. I'm going
• 23:17
Speaker 2: to tell you another admission. You know how I wrote
• 23:20
  Speaker 2: my my tweet?
• 23:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, hell you do? How No, No, I'm saying how
• 23:27
Speaker 1: tell me how I know you said? Yeah, oh yeah, no,
• 23:29
Speaker 1: I like, I know you wrote it, but I can
• 23:31
Speaker 1: I can all. What people don't understand about you is
• 23:34
Speaker 1: when you you can check out of any conversation if
• 23:37
Speaker 1: you have something clever that you want to get out
• 23:39
Speaker 1: in the into the world of the internet, as you
• 23:42
Speaker 1: described earlier, I call it ex social media. I'm just
• 23:45
Speaker 1: I'm just gonna hit you on age they're like putting
• 23:47
Speaker 1: it out into the internet. Yes, okay, Al Gore, he
• 23:50
Speaker 1: created it back in the day. But but when you
• 23:52
Speaker 1: when there's nothing scarier than watching TC at dinner, just
• 23:58
Speaker 1: quietly over there and disengaging from the conversation for about
• 24:03
Speaker 1: five minutes, and you know what's coming. It's gonna be
• 24:06
Speaker 1: something really entertaining on the Internet. I can promise you that.
• 24:09
Speaker 2: So my team had sent me this gift Monday night.
• 24:12
Speaker 2: I was playing hoops, and as you know, I play
• 24:14
Speaker 2: hoops twice a week, and so it was about three
• 24:16
Speaker 2: hours of hoops and I had after a couple of games,
• 24:18
Speaker 2: we lost one game and so I didn't hit my
• 24:21
Speaker 2: free throw. So I was sitting waiting for the next game,
• 24:23
Speaker 2: and so I typed this responding and it's actually a
• 24:26
Speaker 2: very cool thing about AI. So the first part of
• 24:29
Speaker 2: it that I sent, which is because you apparently have
• 24:32
Speaker 2: no idea that Eisenhower federalized the national Guard, stopped dem
• 24:34
Speaker 2: governor from defining federal I wrote that, Yeah, But then
• 24:37
Speaker 2: I went to Google and I typed in Eisenhower federalizing
• 24:41
Speaker 2: national Guard because like you know, I wanted a little
• 24:43
Speaker 2: more research, and Google AI. So the second paragraph of
• 24:47
Speaker 2: my tweet was written by Google AI, and so the
• 24:50
Speaker 2: paragraph specifically on September twenty third, nineteen fifty seven. So
• 24:54
Speaker 2: I didn't know the date until I went into Google AI.
• 24:57
Speaker 2: President Eisenhower issued Executive Order ten thirty. I didn't know
• 25:00
Speaker 2: the number of the ten seven thirty. Like the whole
• 25:03
Speaker 2: details of the second paragraph, the beauty of Google AI,
• 25:07
Speaker 2: it took me thirty seconds to pull those details.
• 25:12
Speaker 1: It took you missing your free throws, then giving you
• 25:15
Speaker 1: the opportunity, then give me the opportunity.
• 25:18
Speaker 2: If I hit my damn free throws.
• 25:20
Speaker 1: All right, punk this None of this would have ever happened.
• 25:22
Speaker 1: None of this would have ever happened if it wasn't
• 25:24
Speaker 1: for you sucking at free throw shooting that night. I
• 25:26
Speaker 1: just want to be clear about what rocked this opportunity to.
• 25:29
Speaker 2: Let me just say for the record, what happened the
• 25:31
Speaker 2: last time you played hoose with me?
• 25:33
Speaker 1: You or someone else decided to break my finger. It's
• 25:37
Speaker 1: still crooked if you can't see it right there, America,
• 25:39
Speaker 1: there it is. It is a crooked finger right there.
• 25:41
Speaker 2: I'm just saying you were a college Division one varsity athlete.
• 25:46
Speaker 1: And to be clear, Lonsdale would back me up on this.
• 25:49
Speaker 1: I taped it up and played like a man. You did.
• 25:52
Speaker 2: I agree you did not crawl up at a ball
• 25:55
Speaker 2: and whimper. But I'm just saying you like you know,
• 25:59
Speaker 2: you both sided hoopsman.
• 26:01
Speaker 1: And I still hit my shots. You guys don't play fair.
• 26:04
Speaker 1: You get older, you start grabbing for some of you
• 26:05
Speaker 1: can't see straight if it's out. That's how old guys play.
• 26:09
Speaker 1: That's how old guys play exactly exactly, so you miss
• 26:11
Speaker 1: your free throws A I came and save the day.
• 26:14
Speaker 1: You put out the tweet, Gavin shoots back, and that's
• 26:17
Speaker 1: how we got to where we are right now.
• 26:19
Speaker 2: But think about it, even like a year ago. To
• 26:22
Speaker 2: put together the details of that tweet, I would have
• 26:25
Speaker 2: a year ago probably if I wanted to have a
• 26:27
Speaker 2: little substance in the tweet, I might have said, you
• 26:29
Speaker 2: take your team involved to my team, said hey, research,
• 26:32
Speaker 2: give me the exact details. I know Eisenhower federalized the
• 26:35
  Speaker 2: National Guard.
• 26:35
Speaker 1: Give me when, where and why right, and.
• 26:38
Speaker 2: Someone would have researched it. They would have sent it
• 26:40
Speaker 2: to me, and then I would have included it. And
• 26:41
Speaker 2: instead I just did it in between games. Like the
• 26:44
Speaker 2: whole thing took me maybe three minutes to type.
• 26:47
Speaker 1: So when did you so, when did you see the
• 26:49
Speaker 1: Newsom response? Was it after missing more free throws or
• 26:52
Speaker 1: was it later on?
• 26:54
Speaker 2: It was before the game, And to be honest, I
• 26:56
Speaker 2: only set one game. I missed free throws that and
• 26:59
Speaker 2: won most of the rest of the time and the
• 27:00
Speaker 2: couple of times I lost to hit my free throws,
• 27:02
Speaker 2: but I did once miss my damn free throws. But
• 27:08
Speaker 2: the beauty of it is it literally so I had
• 27:10
Speaker 2: seen it before I started playing, and I'm like, no,
• 27:13
Speaker 2: and I'm sorry of you know, I don't know about you,
• 27:15
Speaker 2: but like when I'm thinking about something, I often will
• 27:18
Speaker 2: sort of put it out of my mind and let.
• 27:20
Speaker 1: The back of my pard you go back and then
• 27:22
  Speaker 1: you come back.
• 27:23
Speaker 2: Yeah, And it was sort of like literally, as I'm
• 27:25
Speaker 2: playing hoops, I'm chewing on what kind of response I
• 27:28
Speaker 2: want to have, and so then when I had a break,
• 27:30
Speaker 2: I'm like, all right, let me type it out.
• 27:31
Speaker 1: All right. I gotta ask you, is Gavin news some
• 27:33
Speaker 1: on your top five liberals that you would love one
• 27:36
Speaker 1: on one debate with?
• 27:38
Speaker 2: Oh, look, I don't know. We talked about in the
• 27:41
Speaker 2: last podcast how I think Newsom and AOC are probably
• 27:44
Speaker 2: the top two Democratic contenders for the presidential nomination. We'll
• 27:49
Speaker 2: see neither of them know what the hell they're talking about.
• 27:52
Speaker 2: So I feel confident we will we will see them
• 27:55
  Speaker 2: called to account.
• 27:56
Speaker 1: Well, there's always the leering center of dyslexia. It could
• 27:59
Speaker 1: be in California. Gavin Newsom could be in charge of it. Well,
• 28:02
Speaker 1: you know, there's waste fraud to be out there.
• 28:04
Speaker 2: And by the way, Newsom's being a dufust has nothing
• 28:09
Speaker 2: to do with his being dyslexic. I didn't even know
• 28:11
Speaker 2: the guy was dyslexic.
• 28:13
Speaker 1: I've never just fitted as being a guy that's dyslexic
• 28:16
Speaker 1: until I saw his tweet and I'm like, dude, you
• 28:18
Speaker 1: don't you like this is so out about, Like you
• 28:21
Speaker 1: have no idea what you're talking about. Like, you can
• 28:23
Speaker 1: be dyslexic and be brilliant. It doesn't mean that you're incompetent.
• 28:26
Speaker 2: And you can know something about history like you know, Okay, fine,
• 28:31
Speaker 2: so you have a challenge reading because of a learning
• 28:33
Speaker 2: disorder doesn't mean you have to be ignorant of everything
• 28:36
Speaker 2: that has happened in American history. But when I ideology
• 28:39
Speaker 2: Trump's facts, that's when you say things like what Gavin
• 28:42
Speaker 2: Newsom did. By the way, it's also when you say
• 28:44
Speaker 2: things like AOC said, where she said, you know, she
• 28:49
Speaker 2: got mad at Marco Rubio for talking about all the
• 28:51
Speaker 2: things we've inherited from Europe, including cowboy tradition that came
• 28:54
Speaker 2: from Spain, and she said, why don't you try asking
• 28:58
Speaker 2: Mexico and Africa about that? I will tell you on Twitter.
• 29:01
Speaker 2: I had to find this was another thing.
• 29:02
  Speaker 1: I said.
• 29:03
Speaker 2: I just said, hey, Groc, where did the Mexicans get
• 29:06
  Speaker 2: their horses?
• 29:07
  Speaker 1: Yeah?
• 29:07
Speaker 2: And of course Groc responded from well, from the Spanish
• 29:11
Speaker 2: conquistadors in the fifteenth century, Cortez. By the way, I
• 29:14
Speaker 2: pointed out, it's a little ironic her name is Cortes,
• 29:17
Speaker 2: and she doesn't actually know about Cortes, like the Spaniards
• 29:21
Speaker 2: bringing horses and bringing Look, yes, the Mexican fact vacaros
• 29:26
Speaker 2: were a predecessor to American cowboys, but the Spanish vacaroes
• 29:29
Speaker 2: were a predecessor to the Mexican vacrooes. But you know what,
• 29:32
Speaker 2: a little Marxist like AOC or Gavin Newsom, they don't
• 29:37
Speaker 2: want to acknowledge that Europe existed or did anything good,
• 29:40
Speaker 2: and so they have to because all is ideology, Europe
• 29:45
  Speaker 2: must be evil.
• 29:45
Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't fix stupid, sir, You just can't fix stupid.
• 29:50
Speaker 1: All right, this is one of my favorite shows. I
• 29:52

Speaker 1: and we'll get to those other issues, I promise you
• 30:00
Speaker 1: in future shows. So don't worry about that. Don't forget.
