Boston’s legendary debut album is getting a massive 50th anniversary reissue in 2027, featuring long-lost demos from the band’s early days—tracks Tom Scholz used to pitch to labels. The MIT engineer, who self-built the iconic sound in his apartment, teamed up with guitarist Gary Pihl to restore and remaster these rare recordings. Fans will get both the original platinum-selling album and the raw demos on a limited-edition pearl gold vinyl set, complete with bonus gear.
