- 0:00A little criticism about the open comms the the new intro.
- 0:06Not a fan. Yeah.
- 0:38Welcome, welcome. Welcome to Open Comms Radio back
- 0:43again 2026 here to to give you everything you're looking for in
- 0:51Wednesday nights at at 9:00 PM for one hour.
- 0:56I'm Jar Jar Jabroni. I'm your Co host of this darn
- 0:58thing best darn Star Citizen podcast in the verse.
- 1:03And I'm here tonight joined by my good friend, Co host Duke
- 1:07later the second. Thanks.
- 1:10For having me. Thanks for having you.
- 1:12Thanks. For having me, I was just saying
- 1:14I'm glad to be here. I don't know.
- 1:16I'm glad to be here. It was, it was dramatic.
- 1:18So I just, I didn't know what to do.
- 1:20I'm eating lasagna. That fits.
- 1:24That fits kind of the vibe I'm going for this year.
- 1:28I'm feeling like this year is going to be weird.
- 1:30This is our first show of the year.
- 1:33Yeah, season 2 episode 1. Yeah, it is, man.
- 1:36We took kind of a long break there.
- 1:40I guess we needed some rest after all the hard work from
- 1:442025. You know, you're being a little
- 1:47facetious right now, but in reality, man, I'm exhausted.
- 1:51My legs hurt. Your legs hurt.
- 1:55Yeah, I don't know why my shoulders, well, my, I lowered
- 2:01my chair on my desk, but now my, my arms are too low to properly
- 2:06reach my, my sticks. So there is there is a little
- 2:11bit of sacrifice here. Maybe not.
- 2:13I'm not in the healthiest position to be engaging in these
- 2:17swift dogfights that I that I'm usually engaging in.
- 2:22How about you? My dog fights, I tend to just
- 2:26kind of sit in one spot and and spin around, just like when I'm
- 2:31working at home, you know, just got the swivel chair, sit in the
- 2:34middle of the room, grab some snacks, do some typing, just
- 2:37going back and forth. Yeah.
- 2:41Well, this year is a is a big year, much anticipation for the
- 2:46year in terms of Star Citizen, but also a lot of a lot of hope.
- 2:52A lot of hope that we're going to get some, some cool goodies
- 2:55and a lot of hope that our voices have been heard.
- 3:00Speaking of which, we're getting a lot of messages from from the
- 3:02stream already. You should check those out.
- 3:06Season 2 silent film. Oh no.
- 3:12Yeah, I forgot. I forgot to activate it on the
- 3:17stream. It's so Duke and I were just
- 3:19talking about how long it's been since we did done one of these.
- 3:24I think that makes sense now. Thank you.
- 3:26You guys all realize now that I forgot how to do this, so
- 3:32hopefully everybody can hear me now. 20/26/2020. 6. 2026 Much
- 3:41anticipation. Segway.
- 3:44Segway, is CIG listening to us this year?
- 3:51Do you think they listened? They listened to your, your
- 3:54yearnings and your prayers last year.
- 3:56I think they've been listening to us from the very beginning,
- 3:59from episode 1. Oh, you mean specifically us?
- 4:03Like this show? Specifically this show, yeah, I,
- 4:05I think we have some devoted fans over in Manchester.
- 4:09Who TuneIn? I can't prove that or or show
- 4:15any reason why I feel that way, but I I I do have a strong
- 4:18conviction. That's a confident conviction.
- 4:20Yeah, it's it's strong. Yeah, maybe a little delusional.
- 4:25Nah, it's it's John Crew. Well, I don't.
- 4:31I don't know whoever is in charge of fire extinguishers and
- 4:36jet packs, but it looks like we did get some of that stuff last
- 4:42year. Our fire extinguisher jetpacks.
- 4:44Did CIG answer our jetpack prayers?
- 4:49The short answer is yes. Long answer is I still haven't
- 4:53tried it. I don't know why it's like.
- 4:55I forget. Yeah, you've been playing too.
- 4:58I know I I've been busy just, you know, scumming in the the
- 5:04big groups going after that. That a a group.
- 5:06Yeah, the the other a a group. Not the other one, but the Star
- 5:09Citizen one. You're attacking an A, a group
- 5:12that plays in Star Citizen. Yeah.
- 5:18They're trying to get better, dude.
- 5:19They're just salvaging. They're just mining.
- 5:24Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, So the chats making
- 5:27fun of us a lot right now because we forgot to turn on the
- 5:29mics for the Twitch, Skeeter says.
- 5:32I'll believe they are listening when we get modular toilets.
- 5:37That's a reference to the Citizen Khan.
- 5:40I honestly think we're going to get that.
- 5:43Seriously. A1 SCU toilet.
- 5:45I, I think we will actually get some sort of toilet thing like
- 5:49that because we, we have toilets, right?
- 5:52CIG has talked about there will be a future where you will need
- 5:55to go potty. We're going to have these base
- 5:58building. And I think, I think the idea of
- 6:00being able to place your toilet where you want it for proper
- 6:04Feng shui, I think we're going to have it, I think.
- 6:07I think modular toilets are coming, yeah.
- 6:09But it's got to have plumbing, it's got, it's got to drain
- 6:11somewhere. You don't want to place the
- 6:14toilet on the 2nd floor and just have it fall onto your first
- 6:17floor. You know what I mean?
- 6:19OK, so it starts to do some pipe system 2 point O pipes are
- 6:22returning it's. Kind of what I've been expecting
- 6:24this whole time. Yeah, CIG used to talk about
- 6:28actual pipes for like our power systems, but it's actually just
- 6:31going to be for Doo Doo. Well, Cosmo Kobo was waiting to
- 6:37get up here and chat. I'm going to keep him waiting a
- 6:38little bit, but he did say what a load of crap.
- 6:43Yes. And I don't understand, he said.
- 6:46Port a potty. I don't know what that means.
- 6:48We'll let him explain it later. Yeah, but he was second into the
- 6:52room tonight. Our first guest is a little bit
- 6:57blue. Yeah.
- 6:59And I know this guy is hanging out on Spectrum all the time.
- 7:02Any of you Spectrum trolls out there constantly smashing away
- 7:06at your keyboards? Well, this is this is your guy.
- 7:10This is Lord Anubis. Just alienating the whole
- 7:14segment of our listeners there. Full transparency, I barely ever
- 7:18go on spectrum and I was second in line.
- 7:23Oh well. Is is going on spectrum like a
- 7:27like a naughty secret now is that it's established.
- 7:30You're allowed to. Go there.
- 7:34Well, I went there once and and then I got, I got mugged and I
- 7:42was like that. That's not fun and left.
- 7:46This is very boring. Thank you for.
- 7:48We we we all know that you pop on Spectrum in your alt account
- 7:54to ask about moist eyeballs and romance options.
- 7:58Well, I mean, OK, so as you were saying Duke, you know the the
- 8:04the pipes will be full of poo. Don't forget pee.
- 8:08But that's also another one. Yeah.
- 8:11You can't have one without the other.
- 8:12In fact, you can't poo without pee.
- 8:15I mean, I can, you can't. You can't just do 1.
- 8:19Try holding it while you're pooping.
- 8:23That could be you could get hurt doing that though.
- 8:27Make sure you have health insurance.
- 8:28Make sure your coverage is updated.
- 8:30You paid your bills. What if they had health
- 8:33insurance in the game? And then like, if you don't, if
- 8:37you don't have like a good policy, you're every time you
- 8:40respawn, things are just a little off.
- 8:44I thought that was the point of of they went over that for the
- 8:48medical stuff, 'cause they have like robot arms and shit.
- 8:51Right, I don't. Care what they're doing, you 3D
- 8:54print people. What the hell do you need robot
- 8:55arms for? Because your your health
- 8:58insurance, Yeah, yeah, you don't like then they didn't save your
- 9:01copy or something. So you only have like a partial.
- 9:04Copy The things that happen to you when you die are like echoed
- 9:08through to your your save file, whatever the hell it's called.
- 9:13So eventually, you know if your if your arm's been blown off
- 9:15like 10 times, they could print you out another arm, but it
- 9:19would just kind of hang there limp because your your, your
- 9:24echo whatever is like not that that arm's gone it's gone.
- 9:28But if you go. Eventually, eventually that that
- 9:33would mean you know, you're more machine than man or you're
- 9:36you're like you. Is that death of?
- 9:40Is that death of a spaceman or? That's the birth of Darth Vader,
- 9:48which wouldn't be a bad direction to go.
- 9:50Right now you can only play as people.
- 9:52Everyone looks the same, everyone's got the same 6 pack,
- 9:55everyone's got the same flat ass in this game.
- 9:58You guys notice it's? Like that movie?
- 9:59It's like that movie Gattaca, except for the flat ass, right?
- 10:03Everyone should have. Everyone should have more ass.
- 10:05You know we should all be kicked up. 100% I mean if CIG was
- 10:11listening to his last year and made some of our wishes come
- 10:14true. I think for 2026 if if I could
- 10:18ask one thing of them, it would be.
- 10:20Plump in the junk plump I I think, I think it's about time
- 10:25they they implement, you know, like a a live way to do that
- 10:30with the camera. You can have ass over IP and you
- 10:33know, so you can, you know, shake it, twerk it and it'd be
- 10:38uniquely. Yours ass over IP all right.
- 10:42Wow, it's good to have you back in Nubith.
- 10:44Right quick. Go copyright that quick.
- 10:47Yeah. Thanks guys.
- 10:50I haven't seen you in, have you? Have you been doing the the new
- 10:53content? Not really, I've been working a
- 10:58lot. New job also went to went out of
- 11:02state for a little bit just for a birthday party.
- 11:04So kind of just really busy and, you know, also trying to avoid
- 11:10you. Well, that's fair enough.
- 11:13That's fair enough. You, you can.
- 11:17I'm easy to avoid. Honestly.
- 11:23No. OK, never mind.
- 11:24We can just bring on. We can just bring on the next
- 11:26guest. Who is who is ahead of you
- 11:29there? Lord Anubis.
- 11:30That would be cosmic hobo, but that would.
- 11:34So let's go ahead and choose Wicket.
- 11:36Oh, all right. I guess we'll bring on up
- 11:39wicket. Wicket, man of the hour.
- 11:42Wicket's actually gone through a a tragedy recently.
- 11:45Several. Yeah, several tragedies.
- 11:49I'm going to let him speak about the Ashes of his own creation
- 11:52for a little bit. Oh yeah.
- 11:56Yeah. Wicket.
- 11:58How's how's, how's life? Is Dune dried up too?
- 12:02Citizens, long time listener, occasional caller.
- 12:10Here we are back again. Whoever thought this season 2 of
- 12:13this craziness was a good idea, shame on you.
- 12:18Here we are. First thing I want to say is
- 12:24yes, Ashes of Creation is unfortunately Ashes No More
- 12:29Creation. What a sad state of affairs,
- 12:34that game. I mean, it was a beautiful game.
- 12:37Everybody was. I mean, there was a lot of body
- 12:40going on, a lot of cheating, duping, you know, the the
- 12:43standard fare for these types of games that they were working on
- 12:46correcting, blah, blah, blah. But then out of the blue a
- 12:51couple of days ago, the whole company just freaking imploded
- 12:56and we kind of got it piece meal over a couple hours that the
- 13:01game was dead in the the studio was basically firing everybody
- 13:05and the the owner driving force behind the game, the creator of
- 13:12it all, Steven Sharif left. It's like then, of course,
- 13:19within a few minutes, what did this guy do?
- 13:21Did he get his bag and run? Because, you know, end of
- 13:27January came around and I guess the payouts for Steam came
- 13:32through or something and. It wasn't looking good.
- 13:36I thought that game was doing really well.
- 13:39Well, I mean, yeah, I mean it was OK.
- 13:42It wasn't, I mean it, it wasn't like, you know, we had two or
- 13:45300,000 people playing, you know, I think at height it had
- 13:4830 something thousand people just fine.
- 13:50It had its teething problems, but you know, for for a lot of
- 13:56people were thinking, well, this is just a freaking scam from day
- 14:00one. Well, it really couldn't have
- 14:02been a scam from day one because there was a game there and we
- 14:05could play it and there were there were there were there was
- 14:08infrastructure there, there were systems in game that work more
- 14:12or less. You know it it was all there.
- 14:15The game was there. So it's it's.
- 14:19Just. I feel like we can be talking
- 14:21about another game now. Yeah, that that, that sounds
- 14:24ominous. Well.
- 14:26That's kind of why I want him to bring the.
- 14:27Only reason I bring it up is because you know, SC is Star
- 14:31Citizen is the same long time development, there's the roots
- 14:34of a game there, blah blah blah. I'm going to bring I'm going to
- 14:38point out some differences here in a minute between Star Citizen
- 14:40and Ashes. But let me say, the writing was
- 14:43on the wall from the beginning because this Steven Sharif guy
- 14:45who started it all, I mean, I always thought he was like a
- 14:49tech bro. That's how he made his money and
- 14:52that's why he had all this money.
- 14:53And he had said that he would fund the game even if he didn't
- 14:55get backers or anything, he would fund it to the fulfillment
- 14:58of the game. And turns out this guy is one of
- 15:02these MLB multi level market or MLM multi level marketing dudes,
- 15:09you know? Yeah, I know what that is.
- 15:12Yeah. And that's where him and his
- 15:15whole family made, I guess made all their money, you know, I
- 15:17don't know, maybe they were Amway salesman, I don't know.
- 15:20The Sharif family vacuum cleaners door to door.
- 15:24Probably who knows the Sharif shark vacuum.
- 15:28Who knows they they want to sell you a Kirby and would you like
- 15:31to buy some? Petco knives.
- 15:33Well, the the. The the don't.
- 15:36They don't. Those knives are good, man.
- 15:38Yeah, you can cut through. Listen.
- 15:40I don't know if you guys remember Ginsu knives.
- 15:42We have a set of Ginsu knives we've had for 25 years and
- 15:45they're still cutting. Yeah, I don't know if you know
- 15:49even know what that means. If.
- 15:50You get the. Reference, but I haven't even
- 15:53used a knife for that long. In any event, the whole tie into
- 16:00Star Citizen would be that obviously this is an open
- 16:03development, crowdfunded for the most part.
- 16:06And you know, the difference being that in Star Citizen, for
- 16:10the most part, it's all in the open.
- 16:12Everything that's done happens in your face, whether you like
- 16:16it or not. And you're allowed to, you can
- 16:18criticize it, you know it, it's a back and forth, you know it.
- 16:24Be honest with you. This whole idea and the whole
- 16:26thing that happened with Ashes really made me appreciate Star
- 16:29Citizen that much more. And am I being stupid or blind
- 16:34or dumb? Maybe, but after, after having
- 16:38thought about it for a while, having seen what happened behind
- 16:41closed doors in this game, that's now there's, there's
- 16:44information constantly coming to light.
- 16:46There's a guy that was on Twitch today.
- 16:48He must have had a 6-7 hour in depth walkthrough of everything
- 16:52that happened with Ashes and he had receipts.
- 16:56It's like, holy crap. You know, in reference to what
- 16:59you're saying, if you know serious fun, he's another
- 17:03streamer does a a radio show. You look, you can look him up,
- 17:06but he did a a. Yes, listen to a different show
- 17:09other than ours, please. Yeah.
- 17:12Well, you could he's, he's good. He, well, he said in line to
- 17:15what you're saying, He said we have more line of sight to the
- 17:19funding of this game than we do to the banks that own our
- 17:22mortgages, the financial institutions that own our car
- 17:25notes or to any other major purchases in our lives.
- 17:28I watched that video, I know. Exactly what you're so bro.
- 17:32And, and it's true. I mean, we do have it's, and,
- 17:35and you know, and again, see what happened in Ashes comparing
- 17:42that to what's going on in Star Citizen.
- 17:43Of course, you know, I'm very critical at times of, of, of
- 17:47Star citizens. But at the end of the day, I
- 17:50wanted to be a successful enterprise.
- 17:52I wanted to flourish. I wanted to be, you know, my, my
- 17:55forever game, but that doesn't not mean that I don't, I, I
- 17:59can't be critical. I mean, if they can't stand a
- 18:01little bit of criticism, I mean, I have to stand it.
- 18:03Why can't they? But again, it's in the open.
- 18:08It's not behind closed doors. And for the most part, we know
- 18:11what's going on. I mean, I'm sure they have their
- 18:14secrets, but at the end of the day, like, like that guy was
- 18:17saying in this video, we do have an insight that we that we don't
- 18:21enjoy in other aspects of our lives.
- 18:23Well now so you've been wasting your time on this dead ass game
- 18:27for a month. For two.
- 18:29Months. Yeah, for two months.
- 18:32I logged in with you today and you were playing some of the the
- 18:36new mission, the 4.6 and lo and behold, you had no idea that CIG
- 18:42had answered your fire extinguisher jetpack prayers.
- 18:45I did not know that. Yeah, I did not know that
- 18:48answered my prayers. So of course, Char Jar as as he
- 18:52does, he's like, oh man, you got to come out and try it.
- 18:54Let's take get some footage. So for like an hour or two, we
- 18:59were messing around in, in, in, in space, him, him capturing
- 19:04footage of me using the jet pack, the the fire extinguisher
- 19:07jet pack. It was fun.
- 19:10How fast can you go in? Those things, it's fast.
- 19:13Too fast dude. It was hard to capture
- 19:14sometimes. It was like stuttering the the
- 19:17server couldn't keep up with how fast he was going, so to get a
- 19:20good shot he tapped the trigger instead of holding it but it.
- 19:28It it really works like you think it would.
- 19:31And so this is use it. To slow down.
- 19:33You can even use it to slow down.
- 19:34It's like literally imagine being in space and holding the
- 19:37fire extinguisher and hitting, hitting the trigger to fire off
- 19:42some some CO2 and you know. So are we going to?
- 19:47Actually board, are we going to use it to board interests in the
- 19:50future? That's exactly what I'm
- 19:52thinking, yeah. Like.
- 19:55You'd be a low, you'd be a low paying.
- 19:57It'd be hard for them to find you with their radars, you know.
- 19:59Hopefully. So.
- 20:01You know, and they they got that going and then you just see like
- 20:04all the powder from the from the things just leaving a street and
- 20:08you just see like a whole bunch of people just.
- 20:13A little criticism about the open comms the the new intro.
- 20:19Not a fan. Yeah, the old intro much better.
- 20:24Oh, really? Oh, OK.
- 20:26Wow. I don't know.
- 20:27I'm just fucking around. Oh, man.
- 20:30All right. You know, you're you played it.
- 20:32That was you. The the intro of it, there was
- 20:34no audio. Well, I fucked I I messed up the
- 20:37first time I that's on meow I. Mean that's part of the.
- 20:39Charm of the show. That's part of the charm of the
- 20:41show. Sure why not.
- 20:43I went to work at A at a BBQ restaurant and the tables were
- 20:46always wobbling and he said it's part of the charm and people
- 20:50hated that. Also, can the tables just not
- 20:52wobble? I want to bring up something
- 20:54else before before we bring up Hobo.
- 20:57This is turning into a wicked show.
- 20:59Well, I'm sorry. Yeah, and hold on 20 months, if
- 21:03anybody wants to join the call, you could just pop into the
- 21:05waiting room. Your call in show so anyone can
- 21:08join, just pop into the waiting room here and we will bring you
- 21:12on up. Yeah, and we'll do it.
- 21:14Before a cosmic. Yeah.
- 21:19So before tonight's show, I was like, you know, going through
- 21:23YouTube and guess who pops into my feed?
- 21:26Avenger 1 and I'm like, OK, what's he got to say again?
- 21:32I heard you lost a. Goodbye video He's stopping he's
- 21:36stopping covering Star Citizen for a while.
- 21:39He. Found Jesus like 2 months.
- 21:41Yeah, he found. Jesus.
- 21:42He found Jesus or something. Yeah, he found.
- 21:44I wish you would call everybody else where where he is so they
- 21:47could stop looking for him. OK, well, kind of the problem
- 21:50going on right now. I'm I'm not trying to make fun
- 21:53of the guy. I'm not trying to make fun of
- 21:54the guy. I never had a problem with his
- 21:56content. I mean, everybody's, in my mind,
- 21:59everybody is allowed to have their take and, and say their
- 22:02piece. You know, you don't have to
- 22:04agree with them. You don't even have to listen to
- 22:06them. But you know, somebody shouldn't
- 22:09just be told to shut up because you don't like what they have to
- 22:13say or you don't just you don't agree with them.
- 22:16You know, if that was the case, hell, I'd never be on the show,
- 22:18right? Wicked, 2028.
- 22:22In any event, all I was the only reason I bring that up is that I
- 22:26thought it takes a lot of courage to say, hey, I found
- 22:29some religion and this just isn't for me right now.
- 22:31I'm going to. Take Is that really what he
- 22:32said? Yeah, basically, yeah.
- 22:34Oh. I think it's moving.
- 22:35Around 12 or 13 minute video you can.
- 22:37Watch, sort of. I saw that one coming a couple
- 22:39of years ago. But I mean.
- 22:41Really good. Good, I mean to me, good for
- 22:43him, whatever. I mean, look, that's, that's not
- 22:46my, that's not my bag, but but I think it's, it takes some guts
- 22:52to come out and say something like that and just, you know, as
- 22:54far as being a public person on the Internet that people know,
- 22:59you know. And I could definitely see him
- 23:01getting burnt out. For sure.
- 23:04But, and I think it's a problem with the content he was aiming
- 23:08for and what he likes to do because he was, you know, he's
- 23:12super sweat, right? Like very, very competitive
- 23:15loves to learn everything possible about, you know, the
- 23:18flight model and the combat and everything.
- 23:19But the problem with that is it it's still not, it's not final,
- 23:24you know, like it would just change all them all the time and
- 23:28then they have to relearn it and.
- 23:30It's rough. His emphasis wasn't.
- 23:31It was more on the direction that the game was heading and he
- 23:35he just didn't agree with it and that he basically needed a take
- 23:39a break from it basically is what he boils down to.
- 23:42I'll let you watch it. I mean, I'm just paraphrasing
- 23:44and probably not doing a great job of it.
- 23:46But in any event, in any event, let's why don't we bring old
- 23:49cosmic Hobo up? Because I mean, good God.
- 23:53If there's anybody who wants to call in like in the next 10
- 23:56seconds, that would be amazing. And open Comms Radio, your Star
- 23:59Citizen call in show. If anybody would like to call in
- 24:01to the call in show right now, make a call.
- 24:03Just drop on in and we will bring you.
- 24:05On I'm trying. I'm trying.
- 24:08If you have anything to say, if you have nothing to say, anybody
- 24:12I. Don't know if to please.
- 24:16All right, Cosmic Hobo, you are welcome to join the couch.
- 24:21Cosmic Hobo is CIG answering our jetpack prayers.
- 24:28More so than you're answering, my Colin.
- 24:34I read your, I read your chat things.
- 24:36You were in chat and you were typing.
- 24:38You'd have porta potty. I still don't get it.
- 24:42OK, that one should be self-explanatory.
- 24:44It's like a porta potty. You put it on the grid like it's
- 24:47self-contained. Heck yeah.
- 24:50Toilet like it's going to be big and it'll take up space and
- 24:53that's in everything but. I guess that's.
- 24:57The topic I'm starting with tonight is porta potties.
- 24:59So how does? The porta potties.
- 25:00Get into it and tip it over. Yeah.
- 25:05Could we have a whole career with contracts to go into the
- 25:08porta potties? Oh yes, you want to have this
- 25:11discussion? Cosmic knows all about it.
- 25:14The options are unlimited. Just think of all the shit.
- 25:21I I will point out in Ashes of Creation, there's actually a
- 25:24quest in the game where you have to go clean a latrine.
- 25:28You should start using past tense.
- 25:31Thank you so much. Thank.
- 25:33OK. All right, Cosmic Cobo, this is
- 25:36this is your moment. You get 5 minutes all to
- 25:39yourself. Is CIG answering our jetpack
- 25:42prayers? Yeah, they are like, we can do
- 25:46it now. Like it.
- 25:47I OK, I, I also haven't actually gone out and done that.
- 25:54Every time we're doing stuff, we're like going to point a
- 25:57point B and it's like, hey, we, we're going to do X&Y&Z and it's
- 26:02like, OK, no, can we just look play with fire X?
- 26:05And then we're just like, no. So I mean it's and, and people
- 26:09complain to me to steer their fire, steal their fire.
- 26:11Cadoyo doesn't like when we steal the fire extinguishers off
- 26:14the address. Well, you're just borrowing it.
- 26:17You put it back. Yeah, totally.
- 26:22We'll, we'll, we'll totally put it back.
- 26:25Just like. In just like in jump space.
- 26:30OK, point taken. Point taken.
- 26:33Jump Space is another very cool space game where you're running
- 26:36around doing the yeah, it's like, it's like, what's the
- 26:39pirate 1 Sea of Thieves? It's like Sea of Thieves in
- 26:41space. Right.
- 26:43And, and they've got fire extinguishers and they had fire
- 26:46extinguisher jet packs before Star Citizen.
- 26:49Yeah, they did. And they are a small indie
- 26:51company. Yeah, but they didn't have much
- 26:54else. Yeah, it's fair.
- 26:56It's fair. So we have 4 point sixes here.
- 26:59We have a new ship on the horizon.
- 27:02It is a mole mole, a mini mole, A salvage mole, Yeah.
- 27:10That's more or less the conclusion, yeah.
- 27:12Is the salvage mole going to have two arms or three arms just
- 27:16like the regular mole? Salvagers.
- 27:21How's this going to work? Is there going to be new salvage
- 27:23gameplay with it? No, that that, that part I'm
- 27:27pretty clearly can say probably. No, yeah, I got it.
- 27:31But it does, at least from the silhouette and the teasers
- 27:35they've gotten, it looks like it's got 3 salvaging things
- 27:40again and the front is the claw ripped off of and probably
- 27:45shrunk down from the reclaimer. Why do we have the claw?
- 27:52Is it the it's not the claw lining mole?
- 27:54Is it the mining mole? With.
- 27:56Repurposed heads is that wall. It is.
- 28:01It will likely have changes, but the first take will probably be
- 28:06yeah, that's probably just a mole for salvaging it it it has
- 28:09geometry changes. But right, well, you know
- 28:11they're going to do the same thing with the with the, with
- 28:16the output. I wonder if they'll instead of
- 28:18the saddlebags, maybe they'll have the external cargo grids.
- 28:22So that'll just push boxes out onto there.
- 28:26I'd like to see that. I'd like that.
- 28:28Feature on the Fortune. Be interesting.
- 28:37Cool. Oh well, OK guys, no, don't
- 28:40don't all jump on at once. So.
- 28:43We don't know much about it honestly.
- 28:45Like we we've only had the teasers and it's.
- 28:47All speculation. No.
- 28:50Well, I mean, listen, I'm I think lowest common denominator,
- 28:53least amount of effort. You know, yeah.
- 28:57That's basically a variation of what we already have, so it's
- 29:00like so. If it's that then it's going to
- 29:01be what, a pilot and two two turrets or three turrets?
- 29:05So it's a four man ship. Plus now you have 5th man to
- 29:08move cargo around in the back when it spits out the little
- 29:12containers. And you have the disintegration
- 29:15array. I I still think salvaging is
- 29:17really boring. Yeah, it is.
- 29:21There's no risk. I would like it if there was
- 29:25something to work towards with it.
- 29:27Like I can, I can, I can deal with the quote UN quote boring
- 29:32parts of it if we were working towards something with it.
- 29:36But right now, yeah, it's boring.
- 29:37I don't care. I don't have anything to do with
- 29:38it. EBC is pointless.
- 29:40Think about this. Does everything always have to
- 29:42have risk? No.
- 29:46Can't you have some game loops that are pretty much benign and,
- 29:50and you know, very low risk? I mean, there's always a risk
- 29:55when you're in your ship and you're in space and you're, you
- 29:57know, you never know. But the point I think where the
- 30:01risk for mining, the risk for salvaging, the risk for any kind
- 30:05of resource gathering will come in is when they start having
- 30:11resources confined to certain space and certain space is more
- 30:15hostile than other space. And that's like the more.
- 30:19Risk versus reward, yeah, that's where I'm open.
- 30:22I'll counter with. I definitely don't want that.
- 30:25Why not? Well, So what you're talking
- 30:27about is you have the gameplay of salvaging, right?
- 30:30And your idea there was to make salvaging more exciting, have
- 30:35certain areas which are more contested because they have the
- 30:38higher value goods in it. But like I what if I just want
- 30:43to be a care bear? I want to salvage, but I want to
- 30:47have the full salvage experience of a rich and interesting
- 30:51feature. I don't want to have to go get
- 30:53shot at just to have salvage be interesting.
- 30:56Right? Like right now, salvaging is
- 30:58just point and click and then you just sit there, watch the
- 31:01bar go up. There's no risk of the material
- 31:04disappearing. There's no risk of there's like
- 31:06no more valuable things that will disappear etcetera.
- 31:09Well, you you can do that. Click, you can do that now.
- 31:13So what's changing I'm thinking? For you, for you to care there,
- 31:16that's change. That's not good.
- 31:18No, I'm saying that's not good. So that needs to change because
- 31:21the gameplay needs to improve. There needs to be something more
- 31:25there to make it interesting and to make it worth your time.
- 31:29And the answer can't be let's just add people shooting at you
- 31:34because that's dumb. They haven't actually improved
- 31:36that feature at all, all they've done.
- 31:37I'm not saying that maybe it's. It's people shooting at you.
- 31:40You know, it could be where, let's say in order to to go into
- 31:47into certain parts of space, like in the molecular clouds
- 31:50where certain types of minerals and ores, maybe you only have a
- 31:54finite time before it starts damaging your ship.
- 31:57There's nobody shooting at you. There's nobody, nobody harassing
- 32:01you. It's just you against the
- 32:03environment. It's like an almost like APVE
- 32:05activity player versus environment.
- 32:08And you're going in and, and you know, now the onus is on how
- 32:12skilled are you in finding these rare and, and profitable
- 32:17commodities that first of all you have to locate them, then
- 32:20you have to extract them efficiently, Then you have to
- 32:22get out of there without being damaged to the point where you
- 32:25can't go anywhere. Now you have a risk.
- 32:28Reward. Thing that's one way of doing
- 32:31it, but I still think that there should also be areas of space
- 32:35that the chances of you getting like for instance, pyro is
- 32:39supposed to be a lawless system, right?
- 32:41This is a perfect place where some of the the highest
- 32:45commodity, the highest valued commodity should be in areas
- 32:50where, you know, that's a reason for us to go there.
- 32:53There's a reason to go there. And if you don't want to take
- 32:56the risk, you just don't go there.
- 32:58You know that's. This idea.
- 33:00This idea that everybody, everything has to go is go to
- 33:03the lowest common denominator, the care bear, the space dad and
- 33:07all that. No, I think is is a is is.
- 33:09But I think the. Feature itself needs to be
- 33:13interesting without adding all of that needs to be right now.
- 33:17Mining is interesting. You've got lots of different
- 33:20heads. You've got, you know, the
- 33:22different types of rocks, different cereals.
- 33:24It's not that interesting. It's it's not perfect.
- 33:27But there is a lot of complexity there and you can enjoy it.
- 33:30Salvaging is just point and click yeah.
- 33:34I agree there, you know, like like I said, some of the the
- 33:38higher end military ships could be made out of out of out of
- 33:42more rare alloys. And when you salvage like a high
- 33:44end military ship that would where would you find a high end
- 33:47military ship? Well, it would be like you're
- 33:49not talking about. Exploded in a battle.
- 33:51Hold on, you're not improving the future wicket.
- 33:53All you're doing is putting it in certain areas where you can
- 33:56find certain, you know, high valuable things.
- 33:58And I'm not done yet. I'm.
- 34:00Not done yet? You can do that.
- 34:01You know you are. Creating AP versus P situation,
- 34:04which I'm not saying is bad, but I'm saying we can't look at that
- 34:07as as a solution to make the feature interesting.
- 34:10Well, The thing is you can do the same.
- 34:12Thing that you did with mining, with salvaging where you know,
- 34:14those higher end materials now required different heads or
- 34:18different strategies, or they're they're tougher to, you know,
- 34:21you can do the make it a little mini game.
- 34:23Like you make the mini game of mining.
- 34:25Now you make the mini game of of salvaging.
- 34:28That's just one solution. Maybe that's not the only
- 34:30solution. Maybe maybe salvaging is just a
- 34:33boring ass endeavour period. You know, maybe that's just the
- 34:38way it is and and I'd be fine with that.
- 34:42I. Can't leave it at.
- 34:44That there's too many. There's just there's too many
- 34:46ships designed for it for them to just let it drop as here it
- 34:51is. Yeah, cuz then cuz then why
- 34:53would? You need any the.
- 34:54Only thing would be like a bigger ship just collects more
- 34:56salvage, bigger ship collects salvage.
- 34:58Faster collects. Maybe, maybe, maybe a better
- 35:03ship compresses it better so you have you can compress more goods
- 35:07into the one squeak. I don't know, There's all kinds,
- 35:09but I think they've already said a few.
- 35:11Times with with all the different game play loops in the
- 35:15game that they don't want it to be a system where it's always a
- 35:18race for the biggest ship, right?
- 35:21Even with with Holland, they talk about they don't want you
- 35:24to just race for the whole sea or the whole league.
- 35:26Whatever the case is, there should be cases where one ship
- 35:30is is just the better option. So we we could see
- 35:36specialization in salvaging, right?
- 35:39But maybe that would come in the form once we get into crafted
- 35:45crowds of components and stuff, right?
- 35:46What if, say, the Vulture, because of the name kind of
- 35:51fits? What if the Vulture is really
- 35:53good at getting components off ships?
- 35:57You know, that would make it. I'm going to, I'm going to pause
- 36:00you. There for a minute, Duke, I'm
- 36:01going to pause there for a minute because we do have to
- 36:03bring on another guest. We we can continue this if if
- 36:06this guy, this is a fresh Nope, fresh guy first time on the
- 36:11show. No, no, no, no.
- 36:13No new guy, no new blood. New blood.
- 36:15Skeeter, welcome to the show. Skeeter, welcome to Open Comms
- 36:19Radio. You start listening Colin show
- 36:21this week. Our question is, has CIG
- 36:24answered our jetpack prayers? Wow, thanks for having.
- 36:29Me, long time listener and first time caller.
- 36:31Oh, that's kind of what Wicked says.
- 36:33Yeah, but it's true. Like it's accurate.
- 36:36And I appreciate Wickett's comments.
- 36:38They definitely listen to us. And that's exactly why we have
- 36:42jetpack fire extinguishers. I mean, we didn't have jetpack
- 36:45fire extinguishers. We complained about it and now
- 36:48we do so. Seems like we know.
- 36:52Yeah, exactly. Granted, we weren't the only
- 36:54ones complaining about it, but you know that's we're the only
- 36:57ones that mattered that were. Complaining about it.
- 37:00I mean, we're like. DFS with the doubts, right?
- 37:02Yeah, yeah. The.
- 37:05Reason I dialed in I I just wanted to kind of comment on
- 37:09what hobo said about the porta potties and I was a little
- 37:13concerned you didn't know what a porta potty was jar jar but
- 37:15that's OK my it helps if you understand my background I'm
- 37:20mildly obsessed with campers, travel trailers and RV's I.
- 37:27Know you're going to say sewage. Or something.
- 37:32Not not sewage, but. For a while I was planning on
- 37:36building my own little camper, and I know way more than the
- 37:41average American or human about toilets.
- 37:45And this is not. New.
- 37:47Technology like you could easily, you know, the I don't
- 37:50know if you've ever heard of a cassette toilet, but they're
- 37:53very popular in Europe and campers in Europe basically has
- 37:56a little tank, you know, like 3 to 5 gallons that you can pull
- 38:00out by hand and take it to a toilet and just dump it whenever
- 38:04it gets full. And like that's all we need in
- 38:07Star Sis. And think of all the ships.
- 38:10They don't have toilets. Like what are you going to do if
- 38:12you're in the middle of space? Like they have bunk beds like
- 38:15you're expected to sleep on them but you don't have anywhere to
- 38:19go. Like unless you just.
- 38:21You've got some way. To, you know, seal things off in
- 38:24your under suit and just go out and into space.
- 38:26I don't know how that'll work, but feel like this isn't new
- 38:29technology and it's something that could easily be done.
- 38:32Do you feel? Like that's kind.
- 38:35Of the answer that the Shiv had with the bucket with the bucket,
- 38:40and I love the bucket, I know. Everybody makes fun of it.
- 38:42I love the Shiv and I love everything about it, and the
- 38:45bucket is one of my favorite things.
- 38:47I think it could be better because there's no lid, but I
- 38:51was just thinking that the other day.
- 38:53I was it came to mind. I'm like, what can we do to fix
- 38:55the Shiv's toilet? Or sorry, bucket.
- 38:59It's a lid. That's it.
- 39:02But there's there's other. Options too, so there's.
- 39:04Other types of toilets, like there's there's toilets that bag
- 39:08it so literally like you push a button instead of flushing it
- 39:11like closes a bag, like everything goes into a bag and
- 39:14then eventually you get full of bags and you just throw the
- 39:16whole thing out. Like there's, there's lots of
- 39:19solutions here, but the bucket is up in the right direction.
- 39:25So I think the bucket is I think.
- 39:27It needs to be interactive. You need to be able to pick up
- 39:30the bucket, empty it and then put the bucket back and and as
- 39:34such on most of these toilets you can't even sit down on them.
- 39:38You can sit. On the bucket, you can sit on
- 39:42the bucket. Yeah, in the shave.
- 39:46You can sit on it. It's great.
- 39:48I love the shave. I love everything about it it.
- 39:52Needs a lid that's. Problematic.
- 39:55Mesquita, do you have a shave? I do have a shave.
- 39:59OK, 'cause there was someone we. Were playing the other day
- 40:01asking for a Shiv if I. Recall and everyone.
- 40:06Was like just buy one like in game.
- 40:09No, I have one. They were probably.
- 40:10Asked for the for the breaknecks and I've been giving breaknecks
- 40:14away to the org members. What are those?
- 40:17The guns? Yeah, they are the size for.
- 40:21Ballistic gallings. They're popular.
- 40:24Right now they're kind of meta. And do they come on the Shiv?
- 40:27Is that why they do? Come on the Shiv?
- 40:29Yeah. So that's the.
- 40:30Only way to get them as far as I know is on a Shiv and I think
- 40:32there's only a couple of people in the order that have shows me
- 40:35and I want to say Murphy might have one, I don't know.
- 40:38So you've been committing insurance fraud?
- 40:40To give everyone guns Well, no, because we're.
- 40:43Paying for it like it's the ethical duping, right?
- 40:48Crafting .5 Yeah, crafting that's.
- 40:50What I meant to? Say not.
- 40:51Duping, crafting 'cause you're, you are paying for the guns when
- 40:55you repair your ship and it's not insurance for you're not
- 40:59making a file insurance claim. All you're doing is repairing it
- 41:03and the guns reappear. But you have paid for those guns
- 41:07in the repair costs. So just take them off and you
- 41:10pay for. It and you get them and is that
- 41:14a thing? They're gonna.
- 41:16Probably. They're gonna.
- 41:17They're gonna. Yeah.
- 41:19That seems like that That can't be, especially with how easy it
- 41:23is. To make well, that's been.
- 41:24Working for over almost. Two years now, I think, but I
- 41:27kind of like that dynamic. Like I think it could work well
- 41:30in the game because there's there's shit like especially
- 41:34like the executive ships as people seek after the executive
- 41:38ships for the components 'cause there's some components that you
- 41:40can only get on specific either executive ships or Wicklow
- 41:43ships. Like what is it?
- 41:44The the 8, the Wicklow A2 I think or a yeah, a 2 has is the
- 41:49only one with the Fr 86 Shields, and that's the only way to get
- 41:52Fr 86 Shields. But surely they didn't mean for
- 41:55only the A2 to ever have Fr 80 sixes.
- 42:00So I feel like that dynamic actually kind of works.
- 42:04Yeah, it probably works right now.
- 42:07You know, just because we don't have like a, a real economy or
- 42:11whatever, but I feel like when you have like an actual market
- 42:14set up, having someone that can just like pay that insurance it,
- 42:18it will remove the scarcity of everything.
- 42:23You know if if you can just dupe.
- 42:24Everything that way you're not. Well, you're.
- 42:29Duping. Because you pull one off and you
- 42:32get it back and it's you're paying for it.
- 42:34You're paying, you're paying for it.
- 42:36Yeah. Well, to buy them in the in the
- 42:37in the stores. But now you can't, so they've
- 42:40introduced artificial scarcity. Well, they've tried.
- 42:47And then you keep pulling the guns off the ship, but only the
- 42:49people or people. Associated with the people
- 42:52who've gotten the special ships have access to them.
- 42:56Yeah, but I mean like I can just pay.
- 42:57You, you have the part I can just pay you for.
- 43:00I don't have to go do the quest for it, you know, and, and it's
- 43:04not the only one you have because you can just have
- 43:06another one, you know, if you couldn't, if you couldn't make
- 43:09more of them. And I wanted that gun from you.
- 43:12And there was literally only one of them.
- 43:14That's something different than. Oh yeah, I'll just copy 1 and
- 43:17here you go. Maybe, but what about?
- 43:22Fabricating. That's good.
- 43:23That's the premise of fabricating, basically.
- 43:25Yeah. You're not.
- 43:26Call it reverse. Engineering point. 0.5.
- 43:32Possibly. All right, episode.
- 43:36Episode or. Season 2 episode 1 is forever
- 43:39going to be known as the Porta Potty episode.
- 43:42The The Bucket episode. Yeah, you wanted fire
- 43:44extinguishers, but no. We want to talk about porta
- 43:46potties. Yeah, I was really trying to.
- 43:48I was. Really trying to focus on the
- 43:50fire extinguisher in the room actually.
- 43:53Tried the fire extinguishers? Yes, yes, well, the Wicca.
- 43:56And I tried it. Yesterday I tried it also there.
- 44:01It's great. You go fast as hell too.
- 44:04But we could like, reenact Wally.
- 44:05And Eva like, dance around for sure Wally.
- 44:10For sure. It's like such.
- 44:12A good move. The thing is, is that.
- 44:15You zoom away. So fast before long, like if
- 44:18you're, if you're in somebody's group, all they see is your
- 44:20marker and you're like way out there.
- 44:22Oh, really? You're yeah, it's.
- 44:24Fast. It's fast, so it's.
- 44:25Faster than. Eva.
- 44:27Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
- 44:29Oh wow, maybe 33? Times 4 times.
- 44:31Faster that would really come in Andy, I'm going to start just.
- 44:34Carrying one the new intro I don't know if you saw.
- 44:37Skeeter people love it. The new intro for season 2.
- 44:41The last shot is wicked. Flying on the fire extinguisher.
- 44:45I did, I missed it. That's OK.
- 44:48You'll you'll. Catch it, you'll catch it.
- 44:50I'm sure a lot of people, I'm sure a lot of people are going
- 44:51to rewatch the first 30 seconds of the episode once we post it
- 44:56naturally. I always do.
- 44:59My favorite? 30 seconds.
- 45:04It's certainly not the last 30 seconds.
- 45:05Nobody. Cares about that it's all it's
- 45:07just two people it's just wicked it's just wicked and me
- 45:11listening to it and and in the edit we do have one more caller
- 45:16we're going to pull up here quite toward the end of the show
- 45:19here it is Murphy Jack Murphy Jack is cig answered our jet
- 45:24pack prayers Oh yeah as soon as I.
- 45:28Saw the post on spectrum. Was it Was it waka that was
- 45:32saying it or somebody? I was like Yep confirmed they
- 45:36listened to open coms radio. Can I say something to Murphy
- 45:42Jack before? We let him.
- 45:44Yeah. Go on, go for it.
- 45:48Murphy, Jack. Jane.
- 45:49Murphy, Jack Senior Listen. Not yet.
- 45:54It's coming. Maybe it's under?
- 45:57Consideration. You know what I'm talking about.
- 45:59You know what? I'm talking about wait, what's
- 46:00under consideration? Or what's going on?
- 46:02What you talking about? The rest of us are lost, OK.
- 46:07Well, if. If it's not.
- 46:08Been made public yet? Then I'll just leave it at that.
- 46:10I'll leave you off the hook for now.
- 46:13But what I'm watching, I'm watching.
- 46:15I'm watching from the wings. What's been made public or not
- 46:18been made? Public.
- 46:19Yeah. And drop that little bomb and
- 46:21walk away. No.
- 46:22Well, I can. Murphy, Jack will tell.
- 46:25Us when When Murphy Jack's. Ready to tell us you don't want
- 46:27to run? He will, yeah.
- 46:30Who let us? Know feel like I feel like
- 46:32wicked is. Violating a lot of OP security
- 46:33right now, yeah. I'm.
- 46:38Don't. Tell Wicked.
- 46:38You're. I'm putting a.
- 46:40Little lever. In a in a little crook of
- 46:43something to to lever out what needs to be levered.
- 46:47Keep your lever out of my crooks.
- 46:48OK. Put my lever where I want, OK?
- 46:55Murphy, Jack, you've been playing four point.
- 46:57Six, you've seen the new ship coming up, pretty good start to
- 47:00January. How are you liking this, this
- 47:03mission here? This mold delivery?
- 47:08It's a. Little I he loves.
- 47:13It he's speechless. Speechless.
- 47:16Truly. I will say that I.
- 47:18Participated fully in about 3 missions, the rest of them I
- 47:24just was one of those moochers you with a free load.
- 47:28Yeah, I. I couldn't.
- 47:30I couldn't do it. I just couldn't get the drive to
- 47:33go out and do the. Same repetitive.
- 47:36Thing over and over and bar go up when wicket, I think it was
- 47:41wicket said that about or No, you did Duke.
- 47:43You said it about salvage. But bar go up.
- 47:45I think we've all said it, yeah. I was looking forward to this.
- 47:49This mission when it was when everybody was talking about in
- 47:52PTUI, never tried it in PTUII really thought that the retrieve
- 47:58the cryopods and stuff was going to like maybe take us into like
- 48:01a QV station and we had to. Reach, you know, get them out of
- 48:05the. QV station a little bit little
- 48:07puzzle solving or something like they do with tech smuggler
- 48:10because they have all that tech sort of in already right.
- 48:15So I thought that that this was going to be like a new series
- 48:19where they'll be like, oh, another, another puzzle solving
- 48:22like Hyperion and tech smuggler. But then when I saw the the two
- 48:27missions that I did that there was just what, 2 cryopods in the
- 48:31back of an avenger floating there with bounty showing up.
- 48:35This is like. OK.
- 48:38It was, I thought. I thought there.
- 48:40'D be a little more story behind it versus an almost.
- 48:46Literal copy and paste. Of stuff that was pre 4.
- 48:50Point OI mean. We were doing this.
- 48:52We were doing the same exact. Granted, they weren't cryopods,
- 48:57but we were. Going to a location.
- 48:59Getting cargo off of a ship and fighting NPCS off and that was
- 49:05it. And then it was.
- 49:07Just straight. Cargo hauling, make bar go up.
- 49:11Then the collection thing. The only true collection was the
- 49:18mushrooms and Levski, right? The other stuff was more just
- 49:21well, we, we bought all this shit from ruin the ice.
- 49:26So it was just literal commodity trading that we've had for
- 49:31years. Yeah.
- 49:32I mean, I sat down for an hour and.
- 49:33Everyone else finished the collections for me.
- 49:36That's what I mean. Like I, I.
- 49:38Don't really it it for me, it's over, it's done.
- 49:42Like, OK, I got got the stuff. It's like now what I I just, I
- 49:48was surprised that we went backwards on this event in terms
- 49:52of the tech and stuff. Whereas like when we got ASD
- 49:57facilities, Hyperion, like I was saying, tech smuggler, all that,
- 50:00like there was new steps introduced along the way like.
- 50:05Hey, you know. Fix this pipe, blast this leg or
- 50:09whatever they slag tight. You know what I'm saying?
- 50:12The thing on the pipe tight I think is from going.
- 50:15From the top down and still like mites are the ones that stick up
- 50:18from the floor. I could have, yeah.
- 50:19So when we had to mine them off the pipe.
- 50:22And figure out how to get the pipe on and I thought we.
- 50:25Were progressing. But this just fell backwards.
- 50:30It's it's. And that's all I just I wouldn't
- 50:36say. Disappointed I was just bored.
- 50:39Well doubt the the. The white knight would say,
- 50:42well, when they got server meshing in, all of those old
- 50:46missions didn't work, so they had to make their and they're in
- 50:50the process of making all those old missions work in the new
- 50:54server meshing environment. So maybe that could be why we're
- 50:57getting that. Well, that's a correct
- 51:00statement, but I mean, come on, I can.
- 51:04Buy ice from Ruin and bring it to a location.
- 51:08I think you were possible, but we had resource.
- 51:10Drive when that. Was actually impossible, yeah.
- 51:14Well, that we thought it would be right.
- 51:16We thought we were going to go and then come to find out
- 51:18there's we never, I don't know. I'd never ran into anybody.
- 51:24I must see no threat. Yeah, that's that's that's what
- 51:29I mean. Like that was I know there we
- 51:32did a. Talk on that.
- 51:33Before but. I I don't know this is it felt.
- 51:37Like it just felt. Like we went backwards for.
- 51:41Me, It really did. Yeah, Zeno threat was more like
- 51:45a world. Event I feel like they could
- 51:47have done something similar with this event, even though it
- 51:50basically was the world doing it, but everyone was doing their
- 51:53own missions because Zeno threat had like a common goal that
- 51:57everyone was contributing to. Like we had that sort of like in
- 52:02a pseudo way because of the big groups.
- 52:04But, you know, it's not like everyone was congregating in one
- 52:09location to, you know, kill a couple interests or, you know,
- 52:14get boxes off of maroon ships to.
- 52:19Me. This feels like a what?
- 52:20A lot of games do nowadays and Path of Exile comes to mind
- 52:26we're they have like still running.
- 52:30Oh hell yeah. Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know.
- 52:34Who was even running anyway? Yeah.
- 52:37Damn they every every. Couple months they release a
- 52:46small patch, then then then it gets to a big patch and a small
- 52:49patch and a big patch and like a lot of things.
- 52:54Change in the big. Patch and then the small patch,
- 52:57it's just like not a lot like they do more tweaking than they
- 53:00do fixing and they bring out a small new like in game mechanic.
- 53:06That's the theme for that patch. And it's kind of like what what
- 53:10Star Citizen seems like they're doing now, because, you know, we
- 53:12had the the steel facilities that was kind of major, you
- 53:16know, there was all kinds of mechanics built around it.
- 53:18There's all kinds of stuff inside there and there's a big
- 53:21story that went with it. And, and then in between there
- 53:27we had some like collect missions the next time a patch
- 53:29came around. And then we had the the tech
- 53:33smuggler thing when Knicks came out and then tech smuggler came
- 53:36out, there was like a mate, you know, obviously a new system
- 53:39came out, all new solar system, the tech smuggler stuff.
- 53:43Now we're now we're back to the to the to the small patch where
- 53:47it's just like this like collector mission again, where
- 53:51it's it's just like the bar go up, but the bar is blue instead
- 53:55of green or blue instead of purple this time, you know,
- 53:58whatever. It's just like the low effort
- 54:01kind of copy pasta, change some colors around, you know, lowest
- 54:06effort possible just to say we did something so they can, you
- 54:10know, maybe focus on the next bigger thing that's coming out.
- 54:12Hopefully anyway, and and I'm fine with that.
- 54:15I mean, you know, they don't, they don't all have to be damn
- 54:17world beater bangers and stuff. The as long as they're giving us
- 54:21something. But you know, the the stuff that
- 54:24we got for this, this this update, it was super boring.
- 54:29I mean, you know, as long as you have a couple of friends with
- 54:31you, you knock it out in a couple hours basically.
- 54:34We know, I know. A lot of guys or at least
- 54:36interview who didn't do the tech smuggler mission like because
- 54:40they didn't really have a big enough org or like they're not
- 54:42really like combat. So all that work they put into
- 54:45it, not everybody saw it. This smaller fucking, you know,
- 54:50low effort stuff. Everybody.
- 54:52I don't like calling it a low effort, but the smaller stuff is
- 54:54like everyone has easier access to it.
- 54:58You know, not everybody does the hangers.
- 55:01We do exec hangers all the time, but if you're like a single
- 55:05player, you're like you got a couple friends and you and your
- 55:07two or three buddies come in here and and shoot all fire
- 55:11extinguishers in space. All that big stuff that they
- 55:15produce. Not I'm sure they have numbers
- 55:17and they know how many people are playing that stuff.
- 55:21And so I'm sure they are kind of like weighing like, oh shit,
- 55:23like what are we going to do? Are we going to do another big
- 55:25one or we going to do the small collection stuff?
- 55:28So I think that's probably like a good cycle that to have.
- 55:33Well, I think what a lot of these games.
- 55:34Get trapped into too Is the chasing engagement numbers right
- 55:41like they? Know like all right, we got a
- 55:42patch. We have to have a new event,
- 55:46we've got to drive engagement numbers up and like the current
- 55:50event did that I'm sure. But as others have said, I've
- 55:54guaranteed those numbers popped for a couple of days and they've
- 55:58probably already gone down considerably because people
- 56:01just. Joined in and they were like,
- 56:02all right, this. Thing is boring, let's get it
- 56:04done. And then they moved on.
- 56:05It's not it's not an event that anyone's going to keep doing
- 56:08after they've gotten the rewards.
- 56:10You know, whereas like Zeno threat, that sort of thing was
- 56:13just awesome. If it had, you know, you would
- 56:16have done that after you got the rewards just because it was a
- 56:19fun event. Exactly.
- 56:22That's good. That's why I.
- 56:23Say like be. Think about it and be a kind of
- 56:27brutally honest Did you grind us out for the story or for the
- 56:32reward? Did people?
- 56:35Come back for the reward. Or the reward.
- 56:38Yeah, initially I was really. Excited about the story and I
- 56:41thought we'd be like mining. Oh, I was too stuff in Levski.
- 56:44And you know how they had before with now that Hurston owns the
- 56:49the Jumpgate or whatever, I thought maybe there'd be some.
- 56:52Kind of consequence. To this like imagine there were
- 56:55like another bar that could not go up, but a bar that could go
- 56:59left or right, left or right. And it's like, you know, we're
- 57:03what, and we're trying to prevent the infection or
- 57:07whatever from growing. And depending on how much we
- 57:10send, you know, that bar is going to go One Direction or
- 57:14another. And if it goes all the way to
- 57:16the right and, and, and, and tips to the right, you know, the
- 57:19station is infested with mold for the next year or whatever.
- 57:24And it becomes like mostly unusable like that, that, that
- 57:27kind of stuff. And then people would keep
- 57:30playing it, I think to. This.
- 57:34Midway mission that. Was supposed to be like, you
- 57:37know that that's what when in PTUI, remember there was some we
- 57:41were talking about it. We got excited about it like, oh
- 57:43wow, this midway mission where you get a lot of Rep, we're
- 57:46going to like, you know, have to do something like Hyperion level
- 57:51or something, right? It was literally and then that
- 57:55it was just the same shit I used to do for Wallace Klim five
- 57:58years ago. I was like, OK.
- 58:02Yeah, I think it's just a. Lot of the stuff is just.
- 58:05Filler to tide us over. Hope, you know, at the end of
- 58:09the day, this is supposed to be a sandbox open world MMO where
- 58:15you know, we make our stories, we make our fun, we make our
- 58:19adventures, but we currently don't have all the systems we
- 58:23need to do that. We don't have an economy, we
- 58:25don't have crafting, we don't have bases.
- 58:28We don't have a lot of things that would facilitate a lot of
- 58:31that stuff. So and and I hope even when we
- 58:35do get all that, I still hope that the the the mission makers
- 58:38for star citizens still have some of that stuff going on.
- 58:42I still hope they have these like overriding mission arcs
- 58:47that lead one into another, you know, and you know, they don't
- 58:51all have to be bangers like ASD, like I said, or, or, or, or tech
- 58:55smuggler. You know, they could just be
- 58:57like, just like pearls, little pearls on the string to get us
- 59:01to the next to the next thing to the next thing.
- 59:03And then every every couple of months or once or twice a year,
- 59:07they have this major, you know, awesome event that everybody
- 59:11wants to take part in because A, it's awesome.
- 59:14B there's great rewards and you know, you get the you really
- 59:17want to be in an org or and and and work together with your
- 59:21comrades to get something done. I hope that's what it is like.
- 59:25And in the meantime, you know, you're doing your open world
- 59:28stuff, you're doing your sandbox stuff.
- 59:31So what I. Liked most about this event was.
- 59:33The rewards and the fact we could share points.
- 59:37I hate you. I hate the point.
- 59:39Sharing. Oh my God.
- 59:41Well, you go, go on, go on. And then that shit all over you.
- 59:43OK, let me let me find. Out before we go on to that, I I
- 59:47liked being able to share the points because I liked being
- 59:50able to get through it fairly quickly because I knew.
- 59:54From the get go. It wasn't going to actually be
- 59:58that much short to this event. I pretty much knew from the
- 1:00:01start it was going to be fairly filler.
- 1:00:05And while the story is clearly trying to set something up
- 1:00:10because they've been trying to set up the whole UE spoilers.
- 1:00:16The UAE coming back to Nyx to take back control over the
- 1:00:25system because they were just like, yeah, we don't want to
- 1:00:27deal with this. Do you think the UEE poisoned
- 1:00:30Levsky? Right, they're building up.
- 1:00:32An excuse. They're like, oh.
- 1:00:33Look, these people can't govern the advocacy.
- 1:00:36I'm sure they're. Listening.
- 1:00:37Play the play the water loudly. Like play the music.
- 1:00:41Turn the music up. Get the water running, yes.
- 1:00:47Yeah, that's dark. That's the only.
- 1:00:53Thing about this. Story for this event.
- 1:00:55Is that it's likely setting up some meddling.
- 1:01:01Well, we have. We have a call now from.
- 1:01:02Spokesperson for Imperative Addison, Spokesperson Schmidt
- 1:01:08Schmidt, are you with us? All right, I'm I'm running the
- 1:01:11band. Secretary Schmidt.
- 1:01:15No, I had a feeling Press secretary.
- 1:01:16Schmidt hasn't been here for a long time.
- 1:01:18OK, Well, OK. Dude, I.
- 1:01:24The mission sharing thing, if we're sharing the points and
- 1:01:29we're competing with another faction or something, or like
- 1:01:32you know, like there's like some event right, then, then we're
- 1:01:36sharing points. If I'm sharing points with you
- 1:01:38and I'm just getting like a goodie, no thank you, is it not?
- 1:01:43I'm not doing anything. I'm not earning any of these
- 1:01:45goodies. I'm going to get this
- 1:01:46fabricator. I've done 4 missions
- 1:01:49successfully, you know. And that's because Levski the.
- 1:01:54Hangers are are fucking around and they're much better today
- 1:01:58with fewer people on them. So they didn't have a patch or
- 1:02:03anything, but they're behaving good enough today.
- 1:02:05But you know, all that, all those goodies, I don't feel like
- 1:02:09I earned them. I just want the fabricator.
- 1:02:10So I'm going to sit in game and I'm going to accept all your
- 1:02:13missions while you guys do them. Like today I did Wicked did 2
- 1:02:17missions for me. I died.
- 1:02:21I think it's interesting that Jar Jar.
- 1:02:22'S main problem with the point sharing is that people like him
- 1:02:26exist. Yeah, Yeah, I think that's.
- 1:02:32People. Are going to freeload off the
- 1:02:34system. People like you.
- 1:02:37Yeah, as someone. Who ran the?
- 1:02:39Event for the award multiple days.
- 1:02:42Oh, thank you Hobo, by the way. True hero don't care that you're
- 1:02:46a miserable. Freeloader.
- 1:02:48I care. I care.
- 1:02:51Have you? Have you got?
- 1:02:52Data on that. Hobo 'cause I think, I think the
- 1:02:55I think the people care, the level of care I have.
- 1:02:58Or the level that other people care at.
- 1:03:00That other fuck that's weird language.
- 1:03:05Words are tough. Words are very tough.
- 1:03:08It's all. Right, they're all made-up
- 1:03:12anyway. I ran that event daily
- 1:03:17specifically for people like you.
- 1:03:19So then. Why are my bars not all full?
- 1:03:24Yeah, make our bars go up to make those bars go up for.
- 1:03:29All of you. And if you didn't show up, come
- 1:03:32back in March when we do it again for all the people that
- 1:03:35didn't get their parts back now. Yeah, I mean my.
- 1:03:39Larger point is that I'm not. Playing the game, I'm not really
- 1:03:41doing the event, I'm not doing the mission.
- 1:03:43I'm just kind of like sitting there.
- 1:03:45To get. Through it because like, even
- 1:03:47though I like I was really looking forward to do the
- 1:03:49mining, but I literally like got my prospector outfitted and we
- 1:03:53were done with it. You know, broccoli delivered all
- 1:03:58this ice and shit and I was at 100% and I was like, oh dude,
- 1:04:01like I haven't even, I haven't even delivered a run yet.
- 1:04:04So I didn't get to, I didn't get to play the game at all.
- 1:04:06That's that's really where that comes from.
- 1:04:09But that wasn't really That was a choice, though.
- 1:04:11Either, yeah. That was a choice.
- 1:04:13You didn't have to. Participate.
- 1:04:14You didn't have to move. But the point is the mission.
- 1:04:18The mission is not fun, It's not fun to do on its own without the
- 1:04:22reward, is what Jar Jar said. That's not what he's arguing
- 1:04:25though. You can just.
- 1:04:26But he's no I like mining because he's.
- 1:04:28Saying he just sat there. And got the reward because he
- 1:04:32was. So he could have.
- 1:04:33He could have not. Sat there and did the mission.
- 1:04:37But why do that when he could? Go do other things in the game
- 1:04:40that he's enjoying more and still get the mission.
- 1:04:44What's it like you're? Complaining about.
- 1:04:46Then what are you complaining about?
- 1:04:48Because we're trying to better. The game for everyone.
- 1:04:51We're not complaining. We're discussing these features
- 1:04:54and trying to No, he's complaining.
- 1:04:56I think the. Issue is jar I'm.
- 1:04:57Mining. I'm mining a little bit.
- 1:04:59I don't think you can make jar jar better we.
- 1:05:02Cannot make him better. That's not lost.
- 1:05:05It's. Not lost, We cannot.
- 1:05:06Fix him. I'm sorry.
- 1:05:08So. Basically.
- 1:05:09The the way you. Would have fixed this.
- 1:05:11Is that OK? You can't share the mission done
- 1:05:17and that. Stuff.
- 1:05:18I hated that. When we had that, we're resource
- 1:05:21drive, Yeah, well, you could care for resource drive, but it
- 1:05:27was absolutely not worth it. It was diluting the the the.
- 1:05:31Right. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:34I want to share basically this. Guy wants to have his.
- 1:05:37Cake and eat it too. I find it interesting that the
- 1:05:41sharing is. Always just.
- 1:05:43Unless I'm wrong on this, but please correct me if I am.
- 1:05:45It's always just all or nothing, right?
- 1:05:49It's. Like you can share it.
- 1:05:51And everyone gets, you know, it gets split up evenly with
- 1:05:54everyone or you can share it and everyone gets the full amount.
- 1:05:58Like why have they never done something where it's like you
- 1:06:01can share and you know, you each get half the Rep or even if
- 1:06:07there's a hundred of you, you each get like 50% of what the
- 1:06:10original total Rep would have been.
- 1:06:13So they. Tried something?
- 1:06:15Different on the PTU, but then they reverted it to sharing the
- 1:06:19full amount to everyone. They tried something interesting
- 1:06:23and they gave. Up.
- 1:06:24But didn't they split the money? The money was.
- 1:06:25Split, wasn't it? Money's always split.
- 1:06:28Yeah, this is just the Rep was a. 100% so if the mission paid
- 1:06:33out, go ahead the way. They did the points on the PTU.
- 1:06:37Before they reverted it back to just sharing to everyone.
- 1:06:40Is that so? You had the three.
- 1:06:43Mission types, right? When you did one of those
- 1:06:46mission types you would get in a full group.
- 1:06:49Like in a group of anyone you would get full points for that
- 1:06:52mission type, but it would then split for the big individual
- 1:06:57bar. What do you all think about
- 1:07:00that? Because I.
- 1:07:01Didn't like that either, but that's what they first tried.
- 1:07:05So if a point, if a mission was worth 500 points in let's say
- 1:07:09collections, you would get 500 collections points, but you'd
- 1:07:13only get 250 if there were two of you, so 250 to your overall
- 1:07:18score. What if they do?
- 1:07:26What if it was tiered so instead of?
- 1:07:28Splitting it up evenly like you know, have you know, say you
- 1:07:31have a group of 5 or 10 or 100 and for every you know, like if
- 1:07:37you have like 100, you might get a fourth of the points.
- 1:07:39If you have 50, you'll get half for, I don't know, something
- 1:07:43like that. I.
- 1:07:45Think they should be able to scale it per.
- 1:07:47Mission, I mean, like for something like this, right, If
- 1:07:50you're doing a box, you know, a box cargo mission for six boxes,
- 1:07:55yeah. I mean, you know, if you share
- 1:07:57that, then there should be, I don't want to call it a penalty,
- 1:08:00but you're you're just not going to get the full amount of
- 1:08:03points. But if another mission in the
- 1:08:05same events has you going up against three Hammer heads and
- 1:08:10like half a dozen fighters, that's something that obviously
- 1:08:14like they want to have multiple people doing, and you should be
- 1:08:17able to share that and still get the full amount of credit.
- 1:08:21Yeah, you could. Have like an ideal group.
- 1:08:23Size and then penalize it for if it's more than that yeah, like
- 1:08:28have. That in in the mission listing,
- 1:08:30you know, yeah, that's a good idea.
- 1:08:34If we can't. Get dynamically.
- 1:08:36Scaling missions, which I'm sure would be very hard for some of
- 1:08:39our mission types, then yeah, I I think it would be good to to
- 1:08:45have like suggested party size and therefore the rewards would
- 1:08:49be for that. But then you then you have to.
- 1:08:53Ask and I'm sure they have. The data for this, what would be
- 1:08:56those party sizes? What, what do they see people
- 1:09:00doing because they've got, they have to have the data for this
- 1:09:03like how what is the average number of people doing A8 SCU
- 1:09:10cargo mission? And the answer should be no, no.
- 1:09:13It's a mega party hope. Yeah, that.
- 1:09:15If you recall what we actually. Did.
- 1:09:18Was we had the entire server in one party?
- 1:09:21I mean, mostly there was like a 97 something people in this and
- 1:09:26the missions just kept coming in and if if they.
- 1:09:29Allow the game to do that. People are going to keep doing
- 1:09:32that and that's going to make it boring and then we're going to
- 1:09:34finish. Just want to point out, you
- 1:09:36know. I want to.
- 1:09:37Point out in. Twitch.
- 1:09:39There's a comment in Twitch from someone's name I don't
- 1:09:42recognize, Sir. Quick Dickens.
- 1:09:47Sir. Quick.
- 1:09:47Dickens said. I liked.
- 1:09:49The one event where a new story mission got added each weekend.
- 1:09:53That's the better way to elongate engagement longer,
- 1:09:58Alec. I'm not.
- 1:10:00I'm not sure what your reference is.
- 1:10:01Do you guys know what Sir Quick Dickens is or everything?
- 1:10:05I can't remember the. Name of it, but I do recall.
- 1:10:07Them doing that, it was that was what like a year or so over a
- 1:10:10year ago, I think that was that. Oh, that.
- 1:10:13Was that this can tell us. Yeah, that was the one where.
- 1:10:18We're taking on, what's her name, Amelia Boyd.
- 1:10:24The different phases for that event.
- 1:10:26It wasn't quite weekly, but yeah, it's yeah, I see what you
- 1:10:32mean. It was phased in like phase one
- 1:10:35was defense or something and phase and that definitely got
- 1:10:39you coming back. Like you could.
- 1:10:41You could, yeah, he says. You get, you get the F. 7A was
- 1:10:46the reward at the end. Oh, OverDrive.
- 1:10:50Was OverDrive phased? In like that I.
- 1:10:53Don't know. I don't remember, I don't know.
- 1:10:55Was that the one where you got the upgrade?
- 1:10:58I'm still in denial over other. Things OK OverDrive was the one
- 1:11:04where. You got the upgrade, yeah, but I
- 1:11:06don't remember that being phased in regardless of which event it.
- 1:11:10Was it is a good point Yeah, when when they have.
- 1:11:14Done that it. Is it is good?
- 1:11:18Yeah, yeah. So look, let's let's.
- 1:11:21First of all, everybody, Wicket, let's thank the devs for
- 1:11:28providing us. With.
- 1:11:30The the the magic of fire extinguisher jet packs.
- 1:11:34Amen for listening to our our crankiness.
- 1:11:40Maybe maybe every week. So if you could go around and
- 1:11:43just say thank you message to the to the I will start.
- 1:11:47Thank you all. Right, Duke, that was your
- 1:11:52whole. Thank you message.
- 1:11:54If I feel like if I say anything more, I'm the jerk, you know?
- 1:11:58Thank you CIG for for all the hard work.
- 1:12:00Thank you for nots. Thank you Chris Roberts for not
- 1:12:03quitting, firing everyone and then running off to the Maldives
- 1:12:07with all the money. Thank you.
- 1:12:14Hobo. Thank you for.
- 1:12:17Letting. Us start to respect physics a
- 1:12:20little bit more with the fire extinguishers I guess.
- 1:12:22Yeah, fuck yeah, dude. That's fidelity for you.
- 1:12:26Murphy, thank you message. Listen, listen I.
- 1:12:38I'm a little. I'm a little salty I'm saving it
- 1:12:42for off stream. Why?
- 1:12:46We need the Subs. We need the.
- 1:12:48Followers Murphy. I know, I know.
- 1:12:51For our Patreon to get the exclusive behind the scenes off.
- 1:12:57The record Open coms. Recording.
- 1:12:59Yeah, Also new. Coms up there too close coms
- 1:13:06Skeeter What? What do you think?
- 1:13:07Thank you message. Oh, absolutely, I mean.
- 1:13:10It's an amazing game, as much as we criticize it, like I know
- 1:13:14very well as either if you're developing something, managing
- 1:13:17something, you're never going to please all the people.
- 1:13:19So at any given time that you have at least 1/4 to half of the
- 1:13:22population whining and the other quarter to half for praising
- 1:13:25you. So thanks for the devs, thanks
- 1:13:28for listening to our gripes. And I love the game.
- 1:13:31I still play it and we all play it, so we all love it in some
- 1:13:34way. There you go.
- 1:13:37Wicket. Well, well, well.
- 1:13:40Sandy Gardner, I can just imagine.
- 1:13:42God damn it. Long nights.
- 1:13:44This is your last. Method this is.
- 1:13:45You're just supposed to. OK, Sandy Gardner.
- 1:13:51At. Night laying next to her her
- 1:13:54man, Loris Roberts. Sweet pillow.
- 1:13:57Talk. Let's.
- 1:14:00Extinguisher. Jetpacks.
- 1:14:02Before we. Get cancelled.
- 1:14:06Thank you. This is what This is why Sandy.
- 1:14:08Doesn't show. Up on the shows anymore.
- 1:14:12Or ever or ever. Look.
- 1:14:15Look, we're we're going to have to.
- 1:14:17I'm sick of these sweaty nerds. Did she, I mean.
- 1:14:21I mean. She bless her heart dude, these
- 1:14:24stinky fucking grown ass men and all.
- 1:14:27Everyone in their black T-shirts and all.
- 1:14:29Yes, your jerseys, however you self identify.
- 1:14:33Whatever. However you'd like.
- 1:14:37All right. Look, look, look.
- 1:14:39Next. Year 2026, that's this year.
- 1:14:43That's this year. Oh.
- 1:14:45This up, we're doing it. We're doing 2020.
- 1:14:47Six. Anything could.
- 1:14:50Happen. OK, so regarding Star Citizen, I
- 1:14:55want 1 prediction from each and everyone of you.
- 1:14:59OK, let's let's start with Wicket.
- 1:15:06Do you have a prediction? Keep a PC.
- 1:15:08Please. Leave Sandy out of it.
- 1:15:14I don't. Know.
- 1:15:19I don't know. I think my prediction is
- 1:15:26probably more systems released. OK.
- 1:15:34OK, OK. Hobo, what's your prediction for
- 1:15:39the next upcoming year? I know we have.
- 1:15:42A lot of things that could be said here, but I'm going to say
- 1:15:45one that most people won't think.
- 1:15:47I will say swimming. Whoa.
- 1:15:51We will be able to. Swim by the end of the.
- 1:15:53Year. That's already confirmed.
- 1:15:56Is that? Well, hey, Anubis, my secretary.
- 1:15:59From Piercer Addison, welcome back to the show well.
- 1:16:04Yeah, I got a question. Can you?
- 1:16:07Use the jet packs, the fire extinguisher, jet pack water.
- 1:16:13Considering we need that. The.
- 1:16:15Physics and space were. Just water for the first like
- 1:16:19few years of the game, just without water.
- 1:16:22Yeah, I think it'll still. Yeah, I think the jet pack will
- 1:16:24work the same underwater, but will you right there in the.
- 1:16:29Fire extinguisher. Or will it just float?
- 1:16:34Yeah, a fire extinguisher will not.
- 1:16:36Propelling the fire extinguishers I want to see, I
- 1:16:40don't. Think we'll go underwater I.
- 1:16:41Think we'll just swim on the water?
- 1:16:45And the jet pack would send you across the water.
- 1:16:48But is there is the friction? On the water too much for the
- 1:16:53jet pack. Look, I'm not a physicist.
- 1:16:59We could calculate this. There's there's.
- 1:17:01Maybe it'll work. If the, if the.
- 1:17:04Fire extinguisher is powerful enough.
- 1:17:05It'll work, yeah, but that would be.
- 1:17:08That would have to have a. Thrust that would exceed your
- 1:17:10actual weight times, inertia times well, friction well.
- 1:17:19Is that the equation? It won't work 'cause.
- 1:17:22If if it did, you'd break your arms if you fired it.
- 1:17:27Why? That's just a tier. 30 We can
- 1:17:29deal with that. It would have to be so strong.
- 1:17:32That you know that that kind of acceleration suddenly released
- 1:17:37like we're not talking about going.
- 1:17:39Hundreds of miles an hour. We're just talking about moving
- 1:17:41you. Yeah, but.
- 1:17:43But think about this. Think about think about someone
- 1:17:45throw someone throwing a 400 LB weight at you.
- 1:17:49Have you ever had something? You're just?
- 1:17:51Have you ever? Seen what happens if a scuba
- 1:17:53diver has a leak in their in their in their bottle like at a
- 1:17:59hose or something? Yeah, they don't get drunk.
- 1:18:01They it, it pushes them. Well, no, but I mean on the
- 1:18:06surface. Of the water.
- 1:18:07You definitely can't use it underwater.
- 1:18:09I don't really think it's be as useful as you need it to be.
- 1:18:12I think we need to test this. So we're going to get we're
- 1:18:17going. To get swimming, we'll call it
- 1:18:20out. We're getting swimming can do an
- 1:18:21on stream experiment. With jar jar I'm taking jar.
- 1:18:26Jar just a. Couple of guys, middle of.
- 1:18:29Winter going to the pool. How far?
- 1:18:32How far? Can you skip a?
- 1:18:35Guy across the water. With a fire extinguisher.
- 1:18:39Go ask rock prediction. Murphy, Jack.
- 1:18:42Doesn't have to be jar jar. Murphy, Jack Any?
- 1:18:45Predictions. I think we'll get, well, I mean,
- 1:18:51crafting's on the horizon, right?
- 1:18:52So we're going to get crafting, but I don't think it's going to
- 1:18:56be as game changing as we think. Yeah, sad, but probably true.
- 1:19:06Like engineering? I think it's going to go the way
- 1:19:09of the. Engineering, it's going to be
- 1:19:11like a novelty. It's just going to take more,
- 1:19:16more time. I think they're going to need to
- 1:19:18cook on it more. I don't think it's going to.
- 1:19:22Cause mainly because of what happened with engineering.
- 1:19:25How how many look at all these fights we've gotten into, right?
- 1:19:29How many times have we? Used an engineer.
- 1:19:31Maybe once, twice. I'm I'm still.
- 1:19:36Salty about that I blame. The light farted mafia for that
- 1:19:44and our lack of true armor. I still, I think there's still
- 1:19:50hope. It's early.
- 1:19:53I think it's early. Oh yeah, it's.
- 1:19:55Definitely early it needs to cook but I think expecting
- 1:19:59crafting to come in and like change anything I don't know.
- 1:20:09Well, it'll it'll, it'll give us.
- 1:20:11More reason to play because you're grounding for things now.
- 1:20:14You're not just grounding for money now, but hopefully
- 1:20:17grinding for, you know, arts. I think the materials.
- 1:20:22Crafting's only going to. Really.
- 1:20:24Make a big impact when there's certain things that the only way
- 1:20:28you can get them is to make them.
- 1:20:31Well, that and degradation. Right.
- 1:20:33Yeah, degradation things that where you have to.
- 1:20:35Repair, you have to maybe make a fix it kit or something.
- 1:20:39And I, I think that's all going to happen eventually.
- 1:20:42I don't think we'll see that initially.
- 1:20:43I think crafting is going to be like, like Murphy said, it's
- 1:20:45going to be like a little novelty thing and they're going
- 1:20:48to iterate and iterate and iterate, and then finally
- 1:20:50they'll get to a happy, happy place that everybody hates and
- 1:20:54that'll be the one that we use. Skeeter, any predictions for the
- 1:20:59next year? Well, in.
- 1:21:02Addition to cargo grid toilets, I I think base building is
- 1:21:07probably closer than we think, so I I honestly expect to see
- 1:21:11some iteration of base building this coming year.
- 1:21:17I'd like to change those underpants.
- 1:21:19Yeah. I'm not wearing any.
- 1:21:22Pants, come on and. Lord Anubis, any predictions?
- 1:21:26For the next year, Alien player. Characters.
- 1:21:32Oh. You're dreaming.
- 1:21:35He's. Dreaming of the blue.
- 1:21:37Be a wanu. Be a Taravan.
- 1:21:40We could be an Osoian. What is it?
- 1:21:43An Osoian. Oh.
- 1:21:46Star Trek, you've been trading in a soy.
- 1:21:48And Hinds and you don't. Even know who they are.
- 1:21:51How human of you, right bro? Bro I didn't do it.
- 1:21:59Those are my. Ancestors.
- 1:22:00I had nothing to do with that, whatever it is.
- 1:22:03And I don't have to learn about it either.
- 1:22:05Oh, God. All right.
- 1:22:08So so. This is it.
- 1:22:11This is this is the end of the show season 2.
- 1:22:15If you've made it this far, please, if you're listening on
- 1:22:19the Spotify, give us a little follow there on the Spotify,
- 1:22:23give us a rating. If you rate US five stars,
- 1:22:25that'd be neat. If you rate US one star, I'd
- 1:22:29understand someone already has. So I just want the ratings,
- 1:22:34whatever they are. I know and remember the earlier
- 1:22:38threat we made. Before about not.
- 1:22:41No, we're not. We're not threatening cosmic.
- 1:22:44What will we do? If they don't like comment,
- 1:22:49subscribe. We will have a.
- 1:22:52Stern talk with their parents? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:22:56Yeah, it is you. Didn't you didn't make it to the
- 1:22:58harassment meeting? We we will find your parents.
- 1:23:02Your friends, your your other relatives, as Cosmic said, can
- 1:23:08they stern talking to. With Stern talking to yes.
- 1:23:12And it was very. Stern talking to what?
- 1:23:15Is that what is that code for? Isn't that code for something
- 1:23:19harsh playing? Fellatio.
- 1:23:24OK, we're going to go around here at the very, very end of
- 1:23:28the show. Here, like we always and have
- 1:23:30traditionally done, is tradition.
- 1:23:32We're going to go backwards. But because he just got back in
- 1:23:35Lord Anubis, we're going to start with you.
- 1:23:37Is there anything you'd like to say to Chris Roberts, CIG, or
