  Carrie is a wife, mother, prayer warrior, and seeker of pocket miracles, and she is here to help us unpack the true power of prayer on the spiritual battlefield.

  Today we are talking about, first, the armor activator, how prayer can serve as our primary communication link to heaven and how it unleashes God's intervention specifically.

  Second, we're going to talk about shifting those solitary thoughts and how to swap our human anxiety for God's stronghold, dismantling power throughout your day.

  Third, we're going to talk about battling lies with recorded truth and how keeping a record of God's past goodness can dispel the adversary's attack.

  But first, let's begin with Kari explaining why prayer is the foundational link in in our spiritual defense.

  Oh, man.

  When you talk about armor of light, this is probably one of the first pieces of armor that we have to have.

  It's our communication.
• 2:11
  It's our link to God.
• 2:12
  It is our way of being able to share with him the things that we're experiencing and if we're listening, his opportunity to share with us his feelings about us.

  Because let's get real.
• 2:27
  In this battle with spiritual warfare, a lot of times we're dealing with a lot of mind chatter, a lot of insecurity, a lot of doubt or worry.

  So this prayer line is that space where God is able to comfort us and say, I am with you.

  I'm standing right next to you.
• 2:50
  I heard somebody say recently, God walks with us, and he does.
• 2:56
  But I love the concept of I'm also trying to learn to walk with Him.

  So this prayer experience gives us that opportunity to choose to walk with him because he'll be there for us no matter what.

  Like he is ready and waiting.
• 3:14
  Like Peter as he's sinking, as he's walking the sea.
• 3:17
  The Savior was immediately there to help pull him out.
• 3:21
  He's there like that for us too, but we have to be watching for him and we need to be keeping those lines open with Him.

  And that is the only way that he can help us in our battles to unleash his power in our lives is often he's waiting for us to ask because he wants us to have choices, so he's not going

  to force us to do anything.
• 3:48
  So we have to be asking.
• 3:49
  And that prayer gives us that opportunity to ask those questions, those needs that we have.

  I love how Carrie pointed out that God doesn't force his way into our battles.

  He waits for us to invite him in.

  In Ephesians 6:18, after Paul lists every physical piece of the armor of God, he gives us this important key.

  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance.

  Notice that prayer is not just a seventh piece of armor sitting on the floor.

  It is the very atmosphere in which all the spiritual armor operates.

  It is how we stay in constant communication with the commander of the battle while standing guard over our families.

  And when we pray, we don't have to come tiptoeing in fear or uncertainty.

  Hebrews 4:16 commands us, Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

  Through the blood of Jesus Christ.
• 5:06
  You have direct high level access to the sovereign command center of the universe.
• 5:12
  You can pray right into God's presence and ask for tactical grace for you and your family.

  So you may be wondering, how do we practically practice this throughout a busy, exhausting day?

  Well, let's head back to Carrie as she shares how to shift from solitary thinking to shared thoughts.

  I love this thought.
• 5:37
  It says, shift from solitary thinking to shared thoughts.
• 5:41
  So, and this is the power of our mind, right?
• 5:45
  To help us, but also bringing God in to help us.
• 5:48
  So instead of thinking, I don't know how I'm going to get through this day, you shift to a prayer.

  God, I really don't know how I'm going to get through this day.
• 5:59
  Lend me your strength for the next hour, or will you be with me in this thing that I'm dealing with?

  Or can you give me some insight that would make this go smoothly?
• 6:12
  Whatever it may be, bring him into it.
• 6:15
  Because so often in my life I want to do it myself.
• 6:20
  I want to be that little child who wants to be independent.
• 6:24
  And I can do it.
• 6:25
  I could do it right.
• 6:27
  And it's that learning?
• 6:29
  No, I need him.
• 6:31
  I need him because there are so many things in this warfare that I can't see.
• 6:38
  There are so many pitfalls that I'm not aware of that he is.
• 6:43
  And if I am doing it alone, I'm going to miss those corners or those side roads that I need to take that he knows about.
• 6:52
  So this avenue of prayer is so important to keep that communication line open so that he can channel us where we need to go when things are critical.

  Shifting our thoughts from only us worrying into a shared prayer is how we dismantle spiritual stress before it takes root in us.

  In 2 Corinthians 10:4, Paul reminds us, for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

  Human strategies like nagging, yelling, arguing, or trying to micromanage our family members are carnal weapons.

  They simply don't work in spiritual fights.
• 7:38
  Prayer is the exact mechanism that swaps our weak human effort for God's stronghold dismantling power.

  Now, what happens when the adversary tries to flood your mind with lies, telling you that your prayers aren't working or that God has forgotten you?

  Let's listen to Carrie explain how recording God's past goodness can become an ultimate weapon against the enemy.

  The last thing I would say about prayer is to use those experiences that you've written down, especially those maybe you've got a gratitude journal and you're writing down where God is showing up in your life each day.

  But go back and reread those so that when the adversary attacks, you have that as a foundation to remind yourself of who you are to God and how you fit, and that he loves you, that you are important

  to him, that you matter to him, that you are his child.

  And that's all that matters, because the adversary will try to tell us everything else.

  Fill in lies.
• 8:50
  Those lies are there, but they're filtered with truth.
• 8:52
  And so to to be able to know what is truth.
• 8:57
  These help when those attacks come to go, no, but God told me this, and so this I know to be true.

  And it helps you to dispel those thoughts as they come so that they're not as defeating in the moment.

  Oh, my friend.

  Recording God's past faithfulness and reading it back during a storm is how you can extinguish any every fiery dart of doubt the enemy throws at your mind.

  You can see he was faithful then and he is faithful now.
