- 0:03Speaker 1: The Joe Rogan Experience.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Train by day, Joe Rogan podcast by night, all day.
- 0:13Speaker 2: What's going on, man?
- 0:15Speaker 1: This is Joe Rogan.
- 0:15Speaker 2: How you feeling?
- 0:16Speaker 1: I feel incredible, man. You must be. It's been one
- 0:20Speaker 1: hell of a week. It's been crazy.
- 0:23Speaker 2: It has to be the craziest week of your life, right?
- 0:25Speaker 2: Or up to it.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I mean, this is pretty up there. It's been some
- 0:30Speaker 1: crazy weeks.
- 0:31Speaker 2: So talk me through this. When did you get the
- 0:34Speaker 2: offer for the fight? How long out?
- 0:36Speaker 1: So they had mentioned possibly me fighting him on the
- 0:39Speaker 1: White House. They asked me. That was the alley he
- 0:43Speaker 1: had reached out to me. He was like, hey, they're
- 0:45Speaker 1: talking about possibly getting you on the White House. They
- 0:47Speaker 1: know you're a Marine and whatnot. they want Gable Stevenson.
- 0:51Speaker 1: And I was like, fucking, I don't care. I've been
- 0:52Speaker 1: watching Gable since he was coming up on the regional scene,
- 0:55Speaker 1: since you were talking about him and everyone was all
- 0:57Speaker 1: hyped about him. And so I kind of already knew
- 0:59Speaker 1: we were going to cross paths, but it wasn't until
- 1:02Speaker 1: I was requesting to get on the LA card. I
- 1:04Speaker 1: heard they were coming to LA and I kept saying, Hey,
- 1:06Speaker 1: I want LA, I want LA. And I was like,
- 1:08Speaker 1: all right, you got LA, you're fighting Gable.
- 1:10Speaker 2: So there was a conversation about the White House card.
- 1:12Speaker 2: So this is June. That's when it first came up.
- 1:14Speaker 2: And so how did it wind up taking place in September?
- 1:18Speaker 1: I just never heard back. They talked about it. They
- 1:20Speaker 1: were like, would you take it? And I was like, sure.
- 1:22Speaker 1: And I think maybe they were trying to get Jones
- 1:24Speaker 1: on there too, possibly. I think that might have been
- 1:26Speaker 1: what it was.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I think Dana was hesitant to get John on there.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And so I think it was like, if I'm not going,
- 1:33Speaker 1: then maybe Gabe was going. I don't know what it was,
- 1:35Speaker 1: but that was the first time I was approached like, hey,
- 1:39Speaker 1: would you be open to fighting him on the White House?
- 1:40Speaker 1: And I was like, of course.
- 1:42Speaker 2: And so how long out did they tell you about
- 1:44Speaker 2: the L.A. card?
- 1:45Speaker 1: Uh, about six weeks, but I had already been in
- 1:47Speaker 1: camp cause I was supposed to fight Tai Tuivasa and
- 1:50Speaker 1: I had to pull out cause my nose got broken
- 1:52Speaker 1: in that camp. So I was basically in the camp
- 1:54Speaker 1: for the Tai fight. And then I went straight into that,
- 1:57Speaker 1: into the next camp as soon as I got cleared
- 2:00Speaker 1: to start sparring and stuff. But I was still training
- 2:02Speaker 1: the whole time I was running. I was, I went
- 2:04Speaker 1: full fucking. I retained my seed.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I was fucking, did you really?
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah, bro. I went full eight weeks. No, no, no
- 2:11Speaker 1: jerk out, no sex, no nothing. I went full like
- 2:14Speaker 1: Marine mode. That's why you guys saw that, that Matt
- 2:16Speaker 1: on the ground in the studio was because I was like,
- 2:18Speaker 1: it was like really fucking going to, I ended up
- 2:20Speaker 1: getting air mattress after I texted Strickland. Cause he's like, yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 2: And, um, you were sleeping on a mat. Yeah. Tell
- 2:26Speaker 2: people about that.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Well, basically because I, I have, um, obviously my, all
- 2:31Speaker 1: my finances are out there already. I can, I didn't
- 2:32Speaker 1: have anything in my name. So I've been, I've been
- 2:34Speaker 1: bouncing around. from fighter houses as fighter house LV, they
- 2:37Speaker 1: started out and, um, it was like 40 bucks a
- 2:40Speaker 1: room you get. And I was also staying in the casinos,
- 2:42Speaker 1: fucking gambling, doing a bunch of dumb shit. And, um,
- 2:45Speaker 1: stayed in my car a few times, bouncing back forth
- 2:48Speaker 1: with my mom. It was just a little bit of
- 2:51Speaker 1: a chaotic situation. And, uh, I got the spot. I
- 2:54Speaker 1: got a front from my management. They, they gave me
- 2:56Speaker 1: four grand cause I took, I was basically was in
- 2:58Speaker 1: California and I stayed out there. with my mom and
- 3:02Speaker 1: I got to come back out here for the camp.
- 3:04Speaker 1: And I was like, Hey, I need funds. Can you
- 3:05Speaker 1: guys give me in front of me four grand on
- 3:08Speaker 1: my purse? And they said, Hey, um, get, get whatever
- 3:12Speaker 1: you want. I mean, they weren't very involved. Like if
- 3:14Speaker 1: I'm being honest, I kind of had to figure it
- 3:15Speaker 1: out on my own. Like, and, um, yeah, I had
- 3:18Speaker 1: a friend, he got me a sublease, got me in
- 3:20Speaker 1: that spot and I just fucking.
- 3:22Speaker 2: It's such a crazy, rocky story.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I know, and I feel like a fucking movie. I'm
- 3:27Speaker 1: saying it, and I don't even know. I'm like, bro,
- 3:29Speaker 1: people aren't going to believe this shit. I've got to
- 3:30Speaker 1: fucking show the receipts. I'm going to show you some
- 3:33Speaker 1: fucking shit.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I mean, I've never experienced something like that, but it
- 3:36Speaker 2: has to be like right now, even it's hard to
- 3:38Speaker 2: believe that you did what you did.
- 3:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah, because I believed I was going to win. I
- 3:44Speaker 1: was telling myself, but I believed it was going to
- 3:46Speaker 1: be a war. I believed it was going to be
- 3:49Speaker 1: my whole game plan was like, sure he might get
- 3:52Speaker 1: the takedown you're gonna stay in his fucking face I
- 3:54Speaker 1: was screaming the fucking affirmation the John Jones speech when
- 3:57Speaker 1: he's like fucking when he told DC and he was
- 4:00Speaker 1: all like there's nothing you can do to stop me
- 4:02Speaker 1: from coming after you round after round with the most
- 4:04Speaker 1: malicious techniques I know you will lose this fight Gable
- 4:07Speaker 1: Stevenson you will lose this fight and I was just
- 4:09Speaker 1: like just telling myself that I was gonna go through
- 4:13Speaker 1: hell for this you know because all my previous fights
- 4:15Speaker 1: it was first round knockouts all my victories first round
- 4:17Speaker 1: knockouts and it kind of gave me the delusion that
- 4:19Speaker 1: I'm just touching guys and they're going to fall. But
- 4:22Speaker 1: then when I got to the UFC, like, I had
- 4:24Speaker 1: that loss with Taffa and I had Asplen. I fucking
- 4:27Speaker 1: kept cracking him. He wouldn't fall. And then I kind
- 4:30Speaker 1: of started doubting my power a little bit. I kind
- 4:31Speaker 1: of started, like, questioning, like, hey, like, fucking can I
- 4:34Speaker 1: do this? And so, like, when I just hit him
- 4:36Speaker 1: with that left hook and he fell, I was just
- 4:38Speaker 1: like– I started cussing. I jumped on him. I was fucking, bro.
- 4:43Speaker 1: I was like, what the fuck is going on, man?
- 4:46Speaker 2: You were– He was a minus 2,400 favorite.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 2: The disrespect. Was it 2,400? Yeah, it was. That's what
- 4:57Speaker 2: it was? Okay. I just want to be really clear
- 4:59Speaker 2: about that. That's a crazy number. For heavyweight. For heavyweight.
- 5:03Speaker 2: It might be the biggest, at least bookmaker odds, it
- 5:08Speaker 2: might be the biggest upset in the history of sport.
- 5:10Speaker 1: That's what they're saying.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Even with Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey, it was just like.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Holly Holm was dangerous. She was a multiple-time world kickboxing champion,
- 5:18Speaker 2: multiple-time world boxing champion. She was a legitimate striker. I
- 5:24Speaker 2: could see Holly being a 10-to-1 dog or something like that,
- 5:28Speaker 2: but this was minus 2400.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I think it was the fact I was coming off
- 5:31Speaker 1: of two losses. Bro, I lost my discipline a lot
- 5:36Speaker 1: coming up grinding for this.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Here it is. Let's watch it again so you just
- 5:42Speaker 2: know it's real. Boom.
- 5:53Speaker 1: That's me. One more.
- 5:58Speaker 5: Time.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Boom. Oh, the way the head snaps back, too. Oh, God.
- 6:11Speaker 2: What did it feel like when you're standing there holding
- 6:13Speaker 2: your arms up? Were you, like, in space? Were you
- 6:15Speaker 2: in another galaxy?
- 6:16Speaker 1: Everything just felt, like, so, like, even, like, I haven't
- 6:19Speaker 1: seen the clips. I remember I shook Joan's hand and
- 6:22Speaker 1: his hand before they left. But, like, everyone's saying, like,
- 6:25Speaker 1: are you sure you did that? Because, like, I vividly remember, like,
- 6:28Speaker 1: before they walked out and everyone started booing, like, I
- 6:32Speaker 1: shook their hand. I shook his hand. Like, that was it.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I didn't say anything. But, like, bro, everything just feels like.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I haven't even gotten a chance to digest it. Like
- 6:40Speaker 1: I've been just going this whole week, like doing interviews
- 6:43Speaker 1: after interviews and zoom. And it's like, I'm so exhausted.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I just want to go to a mountain or to
- 6:47Speaker 1: the desert and fucking take some mushrooms with my.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Dog and.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Process what the fuck is going on, man.
- 6:54Speaker 2: That probably might be a good idea too. So you
- 6:56Speaker 2: can stay on the course, you know, because one of
- 6:59Speaker 2: the problems with like a big event or a big
- 7:01Speaker 2: moment is you can be defined by that big event
- 7:04Speaker 2: and big moment. And that big moment, can be like
- 7:07Speaker 2: a centerpiece in your life instead of the path right
- 7:11Speaker 2: so the path you're on is getting better as an
- 7:13Speaker 2: mma fighter achieving like world-class status fighting for a title
- 7:18Speaker 2: eventually that's the path.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Is it though joe yeah why not is it well
- 7:22Speaker 1: that's why i want to ask you because like i
- 7:23Speaker 1: mean bro if you can do that everyone's making it
- 7:25Speaker 1: seem like this is just a fucking lucky punch one
- 7:27Speaker 1: shot and like my so this is my thing is
- 7:29Speaker 1: i've always taken to have been taking my journey fight
- 7:32Speaker 1: by fight like I, like, I got out the Marine Corps,
- 7:34Speaker 1: and I was like, hey, like, I want to be
- 7:36Speaker 1: a UFC fighter, and, like, it wasn't like, oh, I
- 7:38Speaker 1: want to be a champion, and, you know, it was just, like,
- 7:40Speaker 1: I just wanted to be in the organization, and wear
- 7:42Speaker 1: the uniform, and just be able to, be able to
- 7:45Speaker 1: fucking say I did that, and the fact that I
- 7:47Speaker 1: just lost, like, those two titles, like, fuck it, like,
- 7:50Speaker 1: they gave me the uniform, but it didn't feel like it,
- 7:52Speaker 1: and so now, like, to do this, the people say
- 7:55Speaker 1: possibly the biggest upset in history, fucking in my home, like,
- 7:59Speaker 1: fucking against all odds, I'm like, bro, like, Can I
- 8:04Speaker 1: beat that? You leave the table when you're up. That's
- 8:07Speaker 1: what they say.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Are you thinking about doing that? Are you thinking about
- 8:11Speaker 2: leaving the table?
- 8:13Speaker 1: I told Micah, the psych at the PI. I told Sergey,
- 8:18Speaker 1: my training partner. I told Gokor. I told all these guys.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I was like, hey, bro, if I win this fight,
- 8:23Speaker 1: the way I'm visualizing it, I might be good with
- 8:26Speaker 1: that because this is fucking like that was it. And
- 8:29Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Just because it was such a big moment?
- 8:32Speaker 1: Just no it's the fact of what i had to
- 8:35Speaker 1: go to get because like brother i've had zero sponsors
- 8:38Speaker 1: i got zero promo i got zero like any kind
- 8:41Speaker 1: of like support throughout this whole thing like even like
- 8:44Speaker 1: with the coaching you know like my corner like i
- 8:46Speaker 1: was scrambling to figure that out you know and it
- 8:48Speaker 1: was just like i had to beg for so much
- 8:51Speaker 1: fucking help throughout this product it just made me fucking
- 8:53Speaker 1: like no i just put a little sour taste in
- 8:56Speaker 1: my mouth i was like bro like fucking like for
- 8:58Speaker 1: what like And then on top of that, I got
- 8:59Speaker 1: fucking CT scan. They're saying I got some fucking brain
- 9:02Speaker 1: matter and shit. I'm fucking stitched up from head to toe.
- 9:04Speaker 1: I got fucking all types of injuries. And I'm like, bro,
- 9:08Speaker 1: what am I doing? If we're just fucking for more money,
- 9:11Speaker 1: for a belt, what am I doing? That's why I'm
- 9:14Speaker 1: trying to figure out the answers myself.
- 9:16Speaker 2: That's interesting. Well, if that's the case, then definitely go
- 9:19Speaker 2: take mushrooms with your dog.
- 9:21Speaker 1: That's why I'm like, maybe you can help me, advise
- 9:23Speaker 1: me here.
- 9:24Speaker 2: The decision is always going to be entirely yours because
- 9:27Speaker 2: it's dependent entirely upon who you are, where you are.
- 9:30Speaker 2: And I don't know that. I don't know where you're
- 9:32Speaker 2: at in your life. I don't know where you're at
- 9:34Speaker 2: with your mind.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 9:35Speaker 2: There's nothing wrong with you walking away right now if
- 9:38Speaker 2: you choose to do that. So you have to think
- 9:41Speaker 2: about it. And I think a moment like that, like
- 9:43Speaker 2: I said, was so big. You have to let it
- 9:45Speaker 2: settle before you decide what you're going to do. Right.
- 9:51Speaker 2: There's a bunch of different ways to approach fighting, and
- 9:54Speaker 2: I think one of the worst ways is to chase glory.
- 9:59Speaker 2: You know, because glory does come to the greats in
- 10:03Speaker 2: that glory. You know, the glory that Justin Gaethje got
- 10:05Speaker 2: when he beat Ilya Teporya at the White House. No
- 10:08Speaker 2: one's ever going to experience that. One of the greatest
- 10:11Speaker 2: moments in the history of combat sports.
- 10:12Speaker 1: That was my logic, too, because when I saw the
- 10:14Speaker 1: Gaethje upset, I was like, bro, like, what? Well, Morty
- 10:18Speaker 1: had to prove, like, you just shocked the fucking world.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah, he could certainly walk, especially Gaethje. He's had this
- 10:25Speaker 2: insane career, incredible career. He could definitely walk away now
- 10:29Speaker 2: and be one of the all-time greats. But Conor, for instance, like,
- 10:33Speaker 2: Conor's last fight. Like, it seemed like Conor was doing
- 10:37Speaker 2: it to show that he could still do it. I
- 10:40Speaker 2: don't know. You know, I didn't talk to him. I
- 10:42Speaker 2: haven't had a conversation with him as a person. But
- 10:44Speaker 2: it seemed like... He wanted to be on top again.
- 10:48Speaker 2: He wanted to show that he could go out there
- 10:51Speaker 2: and still be a world-class fighter like Max Holloway and
- 10:53Speaker 2: just show that he could do it. And you got
- 10:57Speaker 2: to wonder, is that the best motivation for a guy
- 11:01Speaker 2: that's worth half a billion dollars and is fucking living
- 11:04Speaker 2: in the lap of luxury?
- 11:05Speaker 1: No, he's just chasing the high. He's chasing the high.
- 11:08Speaker 1: He's like, I just want to go out on top,
- 11:09Speaker 1: go on top, go on top.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Is he chasing the high versus is he chasing the dream?
- 11:14Speaker 2: So like when he knocked out Jose Aldo, he was
- 11:16Speaker 2: chasing the dream. He was a juggernaut. He was storming
- 11:19Speaker 2: through the division. He was knocking everybody out. He looked
- 11:22Speaker 2: like this guy that had this phenomenal talent and this
- 11:25Speaker 2: special charisma. And he looked like a guy who was
- 11:28Speaker 2: chasing this thing, this dream, his dream of becoming a
- 11:32Speaker 2: world champion. So then you achieve it. And then I
- 11:35Speaker 2: think the big derailment was the Floyd Mayweather fight, right?
- 11:39Speaker 2: He leaves MMA, trains boxing for a while, has a
- 11:41Speaker 2: great performance against Floyd Mayweather. one of the greatest boxers
- 11:45Speaker 2: of all time, does 10 rounds with him, which is
- 11:47Speaker 2: fucking insane.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Did you see my video with him before the fight?
- 11:50Speaker 5: No.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I went viral with Floyd. I ran into him at Lifetime.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 11:55Speaker 1: Because I started promoting myself. So, like, that was the issue. Like,
- 11:57Speaker 1: I kept seeing these collabs and these promos with Gable.
- 12:01Speaker 1: And I was like, bro, what the fuck, man? Like,
- 12:03Speaker 1: why is no one pushing me? So I started, like,
- 12:04Speaker 1: just going outside the PI. And I was like, I
- 12:07Speaker 1: did my own promo.
- 12:08Speaker 2: And then, like.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Just the odds, like the next day I ran into
- 12:10Speaker 1: Floyd at the fucking, at the Lifetime, and I was like, hey, man,
- 12:13Speaker 1: let me get a quick video fucking to promote my
- 12:16Speaker 1: fight and whatnot. So it's just ironic he's a Floyd.
- 12:18Speaker 2: That's funny. That's funny. Well, that's just to be expected.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I mean, you got to realize Gable is, first of all,
- 12:25Speaker 2: Olympic gold medalist, one of the greatest heavyweight wrestlers in
- 12:27Speaker 2: the United States ever produced. And then he goes on
- 12:30Speaker 2: to be undefeated in MMA, wins that fight in dirty boxing.
- 12:33Speaker 2: He's an athletic freak, and he's being trained by Jon Jones.
- 12:37Speaker 1: But who did he beat on the regional scene? That's
- 12:39Speaker 1: what didn't impress me. He got wheel kicked in Mexico.
- 12:42Speaker 1: The guy was like 1-0. Because I was 4-0 on
- 12:45Speaker 1: the regional scene too.
- 12:46Speaker 2: You're 100% correct in that regard. But he couldn't get
- 12:49Speaker 2: any fights. Nobody any good wanted to fight him because
- 12:52Speaker 2: he's Gable. Because he's this insane freak wrestler, and they
- 12:56Speaker 2: want to win. And they want to make their way
- 12:58Speaker 2: through whatever regional circuit it is, get a really good
- 13:02Speaker 2: record and get some experience before they get into the UFC.
- 13:04Speaker 2: They don't want to get flatlined. They don't want to
- 13:06Speaker 2: get beat up and smashed. And a good manager treats
- 13:10Speaker 2: their fighters that way. A good manager says, listen, you're
- 13:13Speaker 2: not ready for that yet. We're going to get you
- 13:15Speaker 2: this guy. Don't get beat by him yet. You can
- 13:19Speaker 2: eventually beat him, but we have to develop these skills.
- 13:21Speaker 2: We have to develop these techniques. We have to Get
- 13:23Speaker 2: you some seasoning. You have to get some hard fights
- 13:26Speaker 2: against some really tough guys so you know what the
- 13:28Speaker 2: fucking basement feels like. You got to know what it's
- 13:31Speaker 2: like to be in the dungeon, you know?
- 13:33Speaker 1: He wasn't in the dungeon.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Wasn't in the dungeon.
- 13:34Speaker 1: They were fucking coddling him and pampering him.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Well, I think also when you're that good of an
- 13:40Speaker 2: athlete and you've had that much success in wrestling, which is,
- 13:43Speaker 2: you know, the celebrated incredible sport, and then you enter
- 13:47Speaker 2: into MMA with all that hype and fanfare, you start
- 13:49Speaker 2: to believe that you are special. And you're invincible and
- 13:53Speaker 2: you're not a regular human being with very good skills.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Because that's what he is, a regular human being with
- 13:58Speaker 2: very good skills. And you showed it. You showed it
- 14:01Speaker 2: with a fucking perfect left hook. When you stepped outside
- 14:05Speaker 2: and then it was everything in that left hook. It
- 14:09Speaker 2: was pretty. It was technical. It was perfect. And he
- 14:12Speaker 2: was reaching at the time, too. Yeah, he was reaching.
- 14:14Speaker 1: And that was the other thing. He was closing his eyes.
- 14:17Speaker 1: And that was on the replay. And that comes because
- 14:19Speaker 1: he isn't smart enough.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:21Speaker 1: He hasn't had that experience of fucking being in the
- 14:24Speaker 1: fire over and over again.
- 14:25Speaker 2: He's only been striking for like a year and a half.
- 14:28Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 14:29Speaker 1: That's why when they asked me, they tried to make
- 14:31Speaker 1: it seem like I was talking shit. Like, are you
- 14:32Speaker 1: impressed by Gabe? I was like, no, I'm not impressed. Like,
- 14:35Speaker 1: what are you not impressed about? I'm like, what the fuck?
- 14:38Speaker 1: He's an Olympic gold medalist. But this is fighting. And
- 14:40Speaker 1: we're going to fight.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Well, his first fight, he got tagged a bunch, the
- 14:45Speaker 2: first fight in the UFC. And that guy fought well.
- 14:48Speaker 2: He hit him with some good shots. That guy was
- 14:49Speaker 2: there to win. He just, you know, was overwhelmed. Gable
- 14:54Speaker 2: got him. But that fucking left hook changed the landscape
- 14:59Speaker 2: of the universe, dude. That left hook changed your life,
- 15:03Speaker 2: changed the world. Yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 1: There were so many people that even before the fight,
- 15:06Speaker 1: they're like, if you beat Gable, I'm going to name
- 15:08Speaker 1: my kid after you. Like, I'm putting my mortgage down.
- 15:12Speaker 1: I was like, I don't know if these comments are real,
- 15:15Speaker 1: but there was so many people messaging me and commenting.
- 15:19Speaker 1: And even with the press conference, they were telling me,
- 15:21Speaker 1: please bring up his past. Please bring up his past.
- 15:24Speaker 1: And I was all like, shit. I fought for my
- 15:27Speaker 1: freedom of speech, man. I don't give a fuck. I'll
- 15:28Speaker 1: say whatever I want. Yeah, it's a lot.
- 15:31Speaker 2: The whole buildup to a fight is so much. There's
- 15:35Speaker 2: so much talking. And there's so many people talking at
- 15:38Speaker 2: you and there's so many narratives and so many people
- 15:41Speaker 2: like you can get your brain really fucking scrambled during
- 15:44Speaker 2: those things, including him, like believing the hype or anybody
- 15:47Speaker 2: believing the hype.
- 15:48Speaker 1: And what was crazy was we weren't even supposed to
- 15:50Speaker 1: be on the press conference or even on the main
- 15:52Speaker 1: card until Ortega fell out. And that was like, that
- 15:55Speaker 1: felt like divine intervention, bro. Cause I was just like,
- 15:58Speaker 1: Oh my God. Like I thought I was, I was
- 16:00Speaker 1: going to get the press conference. And when I got
- 16:01Speaker 1: to fight week, it was like, there was i wasn't
- 16:04Speaker 1: on there and then that next day they were like
- 16:05Speaker 1: oh no you're on your main card you're going you're
- 16:08Speaker 1: going to the press conference so maybe that i wouldn't
- 16:10Speaker 1: have gotten in his head if i didn't get in
- 16:12Speaker 1: the press conference you know because that was that was
- 16:14Speaker 1: strategic like i i was saying in interviews before like
- 16:16Speaker 1: that's psychological warfare oh it's very love and war and
- 16:19Speaker 1: it's like if if you don't know how to handle
- 16:21Speaker 1: that i mean i like like i said i just
- 16:23Speaker 1: brought brought things to light like yeah that was all
- 16:26Speaker 1: i did and um if you if you look and
- 16:28Speaker 1: let that get under your skin like.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Who knows if it let it get under his skin?
- 16:32Speaker 2: I mean, even if there was nothing going on, you
- 16:34Speaker 2: might have still hit him with that exact same punch.
- 16:36Speaker 2: I think there's a gap in experience and there's a
- 16:40Speaker 2: gap in striking ability. I mean, he obviously is an
- 16:43Speaker 2: incredible athlete and he's very good at being the hammer.
- 16:46Speaker 2: You know, he can unload combinations on guys. We've seen it.
- 16:49Speaker 2: You know, we saw it in dirty boxing. But striking,
- 16:53Speaker 2: you know as well as anybody, it is a fucking
- 16:55Speaker 2: complicated thing that takes a long time to figure out.
- 16:58Speaker 2: There's a lot of elements to it. There's a lot
- 17:00Speaker 2: of knowledge, foot placement, where to be, where not to be,
- 17:03Speaker 2: what to do, what not to do. You get caught
- 17:05Speaker 2: doing something. You need a really good coach to explain
- 17:08Speaker 2: to you how you got caught and never get caught
- 17:10Speaker 2: like that again because you need to do this or
- 17:12Speaker 2: you need to do that. Make sure your foot is
- 17:14Speaker 2: outside the line. Make sure your head's off the center line.
- 17:16Speaker 2: There's a bunch of different shit that takes fucking forever
- 17:19Speaker 2: for your brain to absorb and then absorb to the
- 17:21Speaker 2: point where you can– it's just memory, muscle memory inside
- 17:25Speaker 2: of chaos and combat.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I truly felt in flow state when I was not thinking.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I didn't go out like, oh, I'm going to throw
- 17:32Speaker 1: the two. The whole game plan was like, don't over-respect
- 17:36Speaker 1: the wrestling and put hands on this motherfucker. That was
- 17:40Speaker 1: the game plan. Obviously, I knew he might get the takedown,
- 17:43Speaker 1: but like I said, I was just telling myself, you're
- 17:44Speaker 1: going to get up. You're going to get up. You're
- 17:46Speaker 1: going to fucking stay in his face over and over again.
- 17:48Speaker 2: I think a big flaw that he did in both
- 17:50Speaker 2: the first fight and the fight with you is I
- 17:52Speaker 2: don't even think he was thinking about taking you down. Yeah.
- 17:55Speaker 2: which is really crazy.
- 17:56Speaker 1: He's going to be shooting his next fight, that's for sure.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I would imagine.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I would imagine.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I would imagine. I would imagine that would be a
- 18:05Speaker 2: good idea. I mean, it's your number one skill set.
- 18:08Speaker 2: It's crazy. It's like Wonderboy deciding not to kick. Like, what?
- 18:12Speaker 1: But it's also because, like, he was getting praise. Like,
- 18:14Speaker 1: he was constantly being told, like, he's the greatest thing.
- 18:17Speaker 1: He's knocking these guys out. Even Dana, like, after the
- 18:20Speaker 1: press conference in his first fight, he was just, like,
- 18:22Speaker 1: praising him, like, oh, like, he's striking with guys, knocking
- 18:25Speaker 1: guys out when he could be using his wrestling. And, like,
- 18:27Speaker 1: I think it just, like, got to him. And when
- 18:30Speaker 1: I knew I had him was when I saw he
- 18:31Speaker 1: booked that RAF fight during the fight camp. He went
- 18:35Speaker 1: and did an RAF fight, like, a few weeks, RAF
- 18:38Speaker 1: wrestling match a few weeks before our fight. I was like,
- 18:41Speaker 1: this motherfucker's not taking me seriously. This motherfucker's going to
- 18:43Speaker 1: book fucking wrestling. And I'm over there getting my ass
- 18:46Speaker 1: beat fucking every day, fucking with Sergey Spivak, uh, Blagoi
- 18:51Speaker 1: was working with me. Fucking Iwan Kutalaba. And I had
- 18:55Speaker 1: to wear my headgear because my nose was broken. And
- 18:58Speaker 1: that thing was like suffocating me. And these guys were
- 19:00Speaker 1: just putting me in the worst positions over and over again,
- 19:02Speaker 1: starting from fucking bottom, fucking picking me up. Matt returned,
- 19:05Speaker 1: slamming me back down. Brother, that's what it felt like.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I love Rocky, man.
- 19:11Speaker 2: You're a Rocky story, man.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Yeah, bro.
- 19:14Speaker 2: You are a real live Rocky story. 100%, man. It
- 19:16Speaker 2: feels unreal. I mean, and... This episode is brought to

- 20:13Speaker 2: Step in, boom, 12 seconds. Crazy, man. Crazy.
- 20:18Speaker 1: It really felt like it was just karma and divine intervention.
- 20:21Speaker 1: The way he was disrespecting me, too. He called me
- 20:24Speaker 1: a coward. saying, like, he's the reason that I'm there
- 20:27Speaker 1: and fucking my hotel room is paid because of Gable Stevens.
- 20:31Speaker 1: What's up with him talking in third person? I know
- 20:33Speaker 1: maybe he's your boy, and I saw him on here before,
- 20:36Speaker 1: but this dude's talking about us in third person all
- 20:38Speaker 1: the time. Like, what the fuck is up with that?
- 20:40Speaker 2: The third person stuff is very weird. You know who
- 20:43Speaker 2: used to do that, who I love, who used to
- 20:45Speaker 2: do that all the time is Roy Jones. Roy Jones Jr.
- 20:48Speaker 2: is going to do what Roy Jones Jr.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Wants to do.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Is he here right now? Is Roy in the room
- 20:52Speaker 2: with us? That's a strange thing that people do, that
- 20:55Speaker 2: third-person thing. It is odd. It's like an elitist thing.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Yeah, like I said, he's just thinking all that. So
- 21:03Speaker 1: I'm glad I could bring him back down to reality.
- 21:05Speaker 2: It's probably good for him, too, if he decides to
- 21:08Speaker 2: actually continue and pursue his career and become a world champion.
- 21:12Speaker 2: That might be a blessing in disguise because it was
- 21:14Speaker 2: a fight that allowed him to recognize that the skills
- 21:17Speaker 2: that he has in wrestling— Other people have similar skills
- 21:21Speaker 2: in striking and similar skills in all the other aspects
- 21:23Speaker 2: of MMA. And then, you know, there's no shortcuts. Just
- 21:27Speaker 2: because you're a really good wrestler doesn't mean you're an
- 21:29Speaker 2: elite kickboxer. You know, it just doesn't translate. You have
- 21:32Speaker 2: to learn those things.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 21:34Speaker 2: And, you know, a guy becomes amazing because of his accomplishments.
- 21:39Speaker 2: But before those accomplishments, you're not necessarily amazing yet. And
- 21:43Speaker 2: his accomplishments were all in a completely different discipline. It translates.
- 21:47Speaker 2: It's one of the most important disciplines, probably the most
- 21:50Speaker 2: important discipline for MMA if you use it, right? If
- 21:53Speaker 2: you use it, it's probably like the ability to take
- 21:55Speaker 2: a guy down and control a guy. It stifles all striking, right?
- 21:59Speaker 2: If he just decided to avoid you standing up and
- 22:02Speaker 2: then shoot and he got you down, we're talking about
- 22:04Speaker 2: a whole different fight, right?
- 22:06Speaker 5: 100%.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Yeah, but. When you get it in your head.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Ain't no rematch, though, buddy. Everyone's like, what's next? When's
- 22:12Speaker 1: the rematch? Fuck you. You're going to sleep with that. Motherfucker.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Motherfucker's not getting his dick up for fucking weeks, man.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I took his soul. You heard the whole David Goggins
- 22:21Speaker 1: when he said that shit? He's like, yeah, you're not
- 22:23Speaker 1: going to fucking live with that for a little bit, bro.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Well, psychologically, why would you schedule a rematch quickly, if
- 22:31Speaker 2: at all? Like, there's no reason. First of all, on paper,
- 22:34Speaker 2: it's 12 seconds. It's not. It's not like a controversial decision.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Controversial decisions warrant a rematch. Really good war, goes to
- 22:42Speaker 2: the judges, could have gone either way. That makes sense.
- 22:46Speaker 2: 12-second knockouts don't get rematches. That doesn't make any sense.
- 22:49Speaker 2: That makes zero sense. Yeah, it doesn't make sense. He's
- 22:52Speaker 2: going to have to figure out why he's deciding to
- 22:55Speaker 2: strike and then really tighten up his striking. He's going
- 22:58Speaker 2: to have to watch that film footage and see what
- 23:00Speaker 2: he did wrong. There's a bunch of different striking analysts
- 23:04Speaker 2: have broken down the video, and you could see you
- 23:07Speaker 2: did everything right, and he didn't. Real simple. And he's
- 23:11Speaker 2: a human, and you're a big motherfucker, and you've got
- 23:13Speaker 2: a big motherfucker with a big left hook, and you
- 23:16Speaker 2: land that on virtually any human being alive. You catch
- 23:19Speaker 2: him on the chin like that where their head snaps
- 23:21Speaker 2: back like that.
- 23:23Speaker 1: It's like 10 pounds of pressure. That's why you need
- 23:25Speaker 1: to tip the chin, right?
- 23:26Speaker 2: It was a lot more than 10. I mean, you
- 23:29Speaker 2: snapped his head back. But, you know, listen, guys have
- 23:33Speaker 2: come back from knockouts like that and become all-time greats.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Look at Michael Bisping. Michael Bisping gets flatlined by Henderson
- 23:40Speaker 2: and then goes on to become an all-time great and
- 23:42Speaker 2: wins the middleweight title, knocks out Luke Rockwell, defended it
- 23:45Speaker 2: against Henderson.
- 23:46Speaker 1: And I said in my post-flight interview, I kept it classy.
- 23:49Speaker 1: I was like, hey, look, this is going to make
- 23:50Speaker 1: him better. But right now I'm on my victory lap
- 23:54Speaker 1: and I'm going to talk some shit because the motherfucker
- 23:55Speaker 1: disrespected the fucker. His whole team disrespected him. Jones driving
- 23:59Speaker 1: around with him in the Mercedes like, tonight we collect
- 24:02Speaker 1: a head. You know, like, bro, what? Like, come on, Jones. Like, You,
- 24:05Speaker 1: of all people, know not to underestimate someone. You're like,
- 24:08Speaker 1: come on, man.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Well, John's a different guy. He's a different athlete.
- 24:11Speaker 1: But they made him think that he was next John Jones.
- 24:14Speaker 2: I know.
- 24:14Speaker 1: And John Jones is a different fucking... I've studied John
- 24:17Speaker 1: Jones my whole fucking life, man. You saw the picture
- 24:20Speaker 1: with me and him that we took?
- 24:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Eight years ago, right?
- 24:23Speaker 1: I was like, this is going to be my exam,
- 24:24Speaker 1: you know?
- 24:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:26Speaker 1: And I can't even show you the DMs that I've
- 24:27Speaker 1: sent him. I'm like, fucking, I told him this was
- 24:29Speaker 1: going to happen, you know? For him to be there,
- 24:31Speaker 1: fucking front row, and then... That viral reaction, it was, oh,
- 24:35Speaker 1: my goodness.
- 24:36Speaker 2: It was crazy.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Unreal.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Yeah. You can't pretend that you're the guy that you're
- 24:41Speaker 2: hanging out with. That's a bad thing. Yeah. John is
- 24:45Speaker 2: a very unique athlete, though. I mean, he's a one
- 24:48Speaker 2: of one.
- 24:49Speaker 1: He's the GOAT.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I mean, what he did to Cyril Ghosn, I just
- 24:52Speaker 2: watched that fight again. It's fucking insane. Cyril never touched him.
- 24:55Speaker 2: He got a hold of Cyril, dragged him to the ground,
- 24:57Speaker 2: strangled him, tap, tap. That's it. That's a wrap. Walked away.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Didn't get scratched. Yeah. And then now you have Cyril Gantz,
- 25:02Speaker 2: the heavyweight champion of the world. And you see what
- 25:04Speaker 2: he did to Pereira. You see what he did, at
- 25:07Speaker 2: least in the first round before the eye pokes, to Aspinall.
- 25:09Speaker 2: It's like Cyril Gantz, special athlete, and John made him
- 25:12Speaker 2: look unspecial.
- 25:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:14Speaker 2: How do you feel about that? But Gable's not that.
- 25:16Speaker 2: He's not the same guy. He's not that guy, you know?
- 25:19Speaker 2: It takes a long fucking time to be John Jones. Also,
- 25:22Speaker 2: when John Jones became John Jones, he became John Jones slowly.
- 25:25Speaker 2: I mean, it was quick in terms of, like, he
- 25:27Speaker 2: was the quickest ever to become.
- 25:29Speaker 5: 21, yeah.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:29Speaker 2: I think 22. 22. He could be the youngest ever
- 25:31Speaker 2: UFC champion, but there's a long process in getting there.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Like he didn't have that. He fought Guskov. He fought
- 25:45Speaker 2: Stefan Bonner. He fought a bunch of guys and started
- 25:48Speaker 2: looking like this guy might be something very unique. And
- 25:52Speaker 2: then he beat Shogun and wins the title and then
- 25:55Speaker 2: just goes on this just fucking epic– Legendary tear.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Just the people he beat.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Yeah, he beat everybody. He beat everybody, and he beat
- 26:03Speaker 2: everybody when he wasn't training.
- 26:05Speaker 1: I have a photo from that expo. It's like Machida unconscious.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I've had that in my room fucking forever.
- 26:15Speaker 2: That was one of the coldest victories in the history
- 26:18Speaker 2: of the sport. He chokes Machida unconscious and then drops him.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Just standing up, choked him unconscious, dropped him, and just
- 26:25Speaker 2: walked away. It's fucking cold, man. It falls down in
- 26:28Speaker 2: a heap.
- 26:29Speaker 1: It's cold, man.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Cold. But, you know, that's the problem. You know, you're
- 26:33Speaker 2: hanging out with a guy who's the GOAT, and you
- 26:35Speaker 2: start thinking you're the next guy. Like, you might be.
- 26:38Speaker 2: You could be if you do the right things. But
- 26:41Speaker 2: if you believe it before it happens, like, you have
- 26:44Speaker 2: to be cautious but also confident. Like, there's this dance
- 26:48Speaker 2: of the mind. There's so much going on to be
- 26:51Speaker 2: an elite fighter. You know, you have to be aware
- 26:53Speaker 2: that you could look at Kamaru Usman. beaten Leon Edwards
- 26:57Speaker 2: for four rounds. All of a sudden, one head kick, boom,
- 27:00Speaker 2: lost the title. Never the same guy again. Because you're human.
- 27:05Speaker 2: You're a fucking human being. As tough as Kamaru is,
- 27:07Speaker 2: he's a fucking human being. And it's just this wild
- 27:11Speaker 2: dance of possibilities. But it's also one of the reasons
- 27:13Speaker 2: why people love the sport so much. Like what you
- 27:16Speaker 2: did elevated the whole sport. It really did. Because when
- 27:20Speaker 2: you can see a guy who's a giant favorite and
- 27:23Speaker 2: everybody's thinking he is and i thought like this guy
- 27:25Speaker 2: has a potential to be an all-time great like he's
- 27:28Speaker 2: an olympic gold medalist we've seen that before you get
- 27:30Speaker 2: a guy who's an elite wrestler like daniel cormier there's
- 27:33Speaker 2: a lot of examples of guys who elite wrestlers and
- 27:36Speaker 2: they become all-time greats randy couture you changed everything changed
- 27:41Speaker 2: everything one punch.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Boom crazy yeah crazy one punch one punch could really
- 27:46Speaker 1: change your life and they say no i'm I feel amazing.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I feel incredible. Like, just the fact I'm here, like,
- 27:53Speaker 1: this is another thing I haven't even, like, I learn
- 27:55Speaker 1: more from your podcast than I have the entire public
- 27:58Speaker 1: education system. Like, brother, I would sit on post because
- 28:02Speaker 1: I was an embassy security guard and we'd be on
- 28:04Speaker 1: duty and I would just have your podcast playing in
- 28:06Speaker 1: the background and I would listen to all your guests. Like,
- 28:10Speaker 1: I started learning about the subconscious mind, like, through, like,
- 28:12Speaker 1: Billy Carson and, like, another guy, 19 Keys, Joe Dispenza,
- 28:17Speaker 1: some of these guys, and, like, Like, all of that, like,
- 28:20Speaker 1: it really has helped mold me into who I am just, like,
- 28:23Speaker 1: from the types, like, you had, I don't know all
- 28:25Speaker 1: the names, but you had the guests on Sleep, Huberman, like, bro, like,
- 28:29Speaker 1: it's just so many variables, like, that you've brought that, like.
- 28:34Speaker 1: You are truly, like, educating so many people, like, with
- 28:37Speaker 1: what you've done, man. It's fucking incredible.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Well, I'm happy you enjoyed it. I'm happy I helped you.
- 28:40Speaker 2: And I'm happy I get to do it.
- 28:41Speaker 1: The fight companions? I would sit on post and fucking
- 28:44Speaker 1: watch fight companions and you have fucking Eddie Bravo and shit.
- 28:46Speaker 2: It's cool, man.
- 28:48Speaker 1: It's fucking awesome to be here.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Well, it's cool that you're here right now and in celebration,
- 28:52Speaker 2: you know? Yeah. Kind of wild.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Yeah, really wild.
- 28:55Speaker 2: So, like we were saying before, like, these big moments,
- 28:58Speaker 2: they're so big they can kind of overwhelm you. I
- 29:00Speaker 2: think you're very wise. And that you want to let
- 29:03Speaker 2: the dust settle before you do anything.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Yes.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Just let yourself come back to normal.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:08Speaker 2: You are on a fucking psychedelic rollercoaster ride right now.
- 29:11Speaker 1: And I can't even chill. Everyone's like fucking, they're already
- 29:14Speaker 1: texting me like, oh, you went Hollywood on us. Like, bro,
- 29:16Speaker 1: what the fuck, bro? It's been like five days, dog.
- 29:20Speaker 1: He's like, oh, are you switched up, man?
- 29:22Speaker 2: Well, people want you to switch up. That's a narrative
- 29:24Speaker 2: that you're going to have to deal with. The people want, oh,
- 29:26Speaker 2: you fucking changed. Some people do not want you to succeed.
- 29:30Speaker 2: That is a fact. Because when you succeed, especially succeed
- 29:34Speaker 2: in a spectacular way, they compare themselves to you and
- 29:37Speaker 2: they fall short and they don't like it. People do
- 29:39Speaker 2: not like when people hyper succeed. That is going to
- 29:42Speaker 2: be a problem. People want you to fall. It's going
- 29:44Speaker 2: to be a problem. It's a problem with every champion,
- 29:47Speaker 2: every celebrity, every superstar in music and comedy and movies
- 29:52Speaker 2: and acting. They want you to fall because there's a
- 29:55Speaker 2: certain type of psychology that There's a certain psychological mindset
- 29:59Speaker 2: that some people have where they look at people who
- 30:02Speaker 2: are doing better than them and they compare themselves and
- 30:05Speaker 2: they want that person to fail. And so they'll pretend
- 30:07Speaker 2: you're something you're not. They'll create narratives that aren't real.
- 30:11Speaker 2: You won Hollywood, bro. You fucking sold out. You fucking
- 30:14Speaker 2: sold out. And you're going to have to deal with
- 30:16Speaker 2: that too. But that's just bitches. There's a world filled
- 30:19Speaker 2: with bitches. And some bitches, they have loud voices.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Yeah. It's okay.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Yeah. So that's what I'm navigating right now is just
- 30:26Speaker 1: like trying to fucking like, Like, a part of me is, like,
- 30:28Speaker 1: trying to get back to everyone, but the other part
- 30:29Speaker 1: of me is, like, bro, like, can you just understand? Like, even, like,
- 30:32Speaker 1: I go from, like, doing all the interviews. I had, like,
- 30:34Speaker 1: interviews all day, and then I would go home, and, like,
- 30:36Speaker 1: my family wants to talk to me about what's going on. And, like, fucking,
- 30:39Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, like, I just want to go walk
- 30:40Speaker 1: my dog, man. Fucking, like. And then I'm, like, walk.
- 30:42Speaker 1: I did the Bisbing interview, and I was, like, walking
- 30:45Speaker 1: my dog. He's like, like, can you make sure you
- 30:47Speaker 1: have a good connection? I'm like, bro, like, I'm walking
- 30:49Speaker 1: my dog, man. Y'all want the interview or not, bro? Fucking, like.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Fucking. It's more important to walk your dog than do
- 30:55Speaker 2: an interview. That's awesome.
- 30:56Speaker 1: I'm going to shout out my dog, Apollo. He's a
- 30:58Speaker 1: German shepherd, man, because, like, this dude, I got him
- 31:01Speaker 1: when I got out of boot camp. I'm sorry, out
- 31:03Speaker 1: of the Marines. And he's been with me for, like,
- 31:05Speaker 1: the past seven now. He's about to be eight. And, like,
- 31:08Speaker 1: this dude, like, bro, like, broke, like, so many meals
- 31:11Speaker 1: with him. Like, I moved out to Vegas two years ago.
- 31:14Speaker 2: There he is.
- 31:15Speaker 1: That's my fucking boy, man. And, like, this dude has
- 31:20Speaker 1: seen it all, man. Like, that was, like, I had
- 31:23Speaker 1: my fucking knee surgeries and I had to drive myself
- 31:26Speaker 1: to PT fucking two days post-op. Like nobody, nobody wanted
- 31:30Speaker 1: to fucking take me to the PI and shit, bro.
- 31:32Speaker 1: And I was like trying to walk my dog and shit.
- 31:33Speaker 1: And like all that shit, that's what I was telling
- 31:36Speaker 1: you earlier, man. I'm just like, bro, like it's such a, like,
- 31:39Speaker 1: I don't want to say a fake game, but it's
- 31:40Speaker 1: just like, they only love you when you're hot. Like,
- 31:43Speaker 1: When fucking Gaethje got knocked out by Holloway, he wasn't
- 31:46Speaker 1: fucking hot. But then fucking, he goes and wins this,
- 31:48Speaker 1: he's hot. And then fucking Max Holloway gets knocked out
- 31:50Speaker 1: by Ilya, fucking Ilya's hot. Not Ilya's, Strickland Shamaya, fucking Pereira.
- 31:54Speaker 1: That's the game. It's the hurt business, you know? And
- 31:56Speaker 1: then when they're done with you, you cheat assholes. I'm like, bro, fucking,
- 31:59Speaker 1: I just upset the world. Fucking changed the dynamic, like
- 32:04Speaker 1: you said. United the MMA community. And I was like, bro, fucking,
- 32:08Speaker 1: what more do I fucking want? I did it at home, fucking.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Walked out to Nipsey Hussle, man. That was my dream, brother.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Like fucking, that was like.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Everything I dreamed. What song did you walk out to?
- 32:16Speaker 1: Hustle and Motivate by Nipsey Hussle.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Nice. Yeah.
- 32:19Speaker 5: Nice.
- 32:20Speaker 1: That was fun.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Wow. Wow, man.
- 32:23Speaker 1: But then the other people are like, no, he's a pussy.
- 32:25Speaker 1: He's fucking, he's a lucky punch and he wants to
- 32:27Speaker 1: fucking walk.
- 32:28Speaker 2: There's no such thing as a lucky punch. Anybody says
- 32:30Speaker 2: that's a moron. Or they don't know any better. Or
- 32:32Speaker 2: there's a thing you think you could say to diminish
- 32:34Speaker 2: someone's accomplishment. That's all it is. There's no lucky punch.
- 32:38Speaker 2: You're fighting a world-class athlete. You stepped in. You threw
- 32:41Speaker 2: a left hook. It was perfect. That's not lucky. That's
- 32:43Speaker 2: exactly what you wanted to do, and you did it.
- 32:45Speaker 2: If you had your eyes closed and you're falling backwards
- 32:48Speaker 2: and you went like that and you caught him on
- 32:50Speaker 2: the chin, okay, maybe that's a lucky punch. But you
- 32:53Speaker 2: still threw a punch. That's a much more fortunate punch,
- 32:57Speaker 2: I would say. There's nothing lucky about the punch you threw.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Nothing lucky. You wanted to hit him on the chin,
- 33:02Speaker 2: you hit him on the chin.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Thank you for clarifying.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Fuck those people. But this thing about people only love
- 33:07Speaker 2: you when you're hot, that's always going to be the case.
- 33:10Speaker 2: That's just how it is in the world. There's no
- 33:13Speaker 2: way around that, man. People are always judging people on status.
- 33:17Speaker 2: They're always judging people on their place in the hierarchy.
- 33:21Speaker 2: We're chimpanzees. We're like complicated chimps. That's how we look
- 33:24Speaker 2: at it. Who's the big chimp? Who's top chimp? Oh,
- 33:27Speaker 2: you're not top chimp anymore. You fucked up. You fucking loser.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Fuck you. And, you know, you go on, like, someone's Instagram, like,
- 33:33Speaker 2: after they had a loss, man. I've seen guys go on,
- 33:36Speaker 2: you know, get knocked out or get beat, and then
- 33:39Speaker 2: you go on their Instagram, and the horrific comments from
- 33:43Speaker 2: these people that have never done jack shit in their life.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Before the fight, the guys were fucking brutal. Like, this
- 33:48Speaker 1: guy got lost at Toffa. This guy fucking 0-2. Fucking, like, bro,
- 33:52Speaker 1: they were going in on me.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Hey, man, look at Charles Oliveira. I always say look
- 33:56Speaker 2: at Charles Oliveira. One of the all-time greats. And he
- 33:59Speaker 2: went on a... There was a lot of times where
- 34:01Speaker 2: he had this fucking reputation of being a quitter. He
- 34:05Speaker 2: lost a bunch of times. Cub Swanson knocked him out.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Paul Felder beat the shit out of him. All these
- 34:09Speaker 2: people beat him. And then he got it together somehow
- 34:14Speaker 2: and became undeniable and became a world champion. This idea
- 34:18Speaker 2: that one loss defines you is silly. And the only
- 34:23Speaker 2: people that say that are people that don't know what
- 34:24Speaker 2: the fuck they're talking about. And this is part of
- 34:27Speaker 2: the problem with the comment sphere. The world of people
- 34:32Speaker 2: that could just chime in as experts when they literally
- 34:34Speaker 2: have never done anything in their fucking life. That's a
- 34:37Speaker 2: lot of people. Never really accomplished anything great. And they're
- 34:40Speaker 2: talking about people that are trying to do one of
- 34:43Speaker 2: the most difficult things in all of the world. Become
- 34:48Speaker 2: a professional combat sports athlete at the highest level with
- 34:52Speaker 2: the whole world watching you. millions of people on Paramount +, 16,000
- 34:57Speaker 2: people in the fucking crypto dome or whatever the fuck
- 35:00Speaker 2: that place is called. The whole thing is nuts, man.
- 35:03Speaker 2: And for you to be able to do that, I
- 35:06Speaker 2: feel like you're better off just not reading anything, not
- 35:10Speaker 2: talking to anybody. Just go silent for a while. Just
- 35:15Speaker 2: let the dust settle. Let the vibrations end. It's like
- 35:19Speaker 2: somebody just banged a gong, and you got to wait
- 35:21Speaker 2: for that bong.
- 35:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:26Speaker 1: You got to wait for that to go back to zero.
- 35:28Speaker 1: This is the most important podcast. He said, do it
- 35:31Speaker 1: this day.
- 35:31Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm here. Well, you said it in the interview.
- 35:33Speaker 2: You said, I want to do your podcast. I said,
- 35:35Speaker 2: fuck yeah.
- 35:35Speaker 1: I'm so glad I did, man.
- 35:37Speaker 2: It's one of the few times I ever swear during
- 35:38Speaker 2: an interview, too. It just came out. I said, fuck yeah.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Because it was just so crazy. It was like, how
- 35:43Speaker 2: do you not have you on after that? You did
- 35:46Speaker 2: something incredibly special.
- 35:47Speaker 1: And I appreciate you letting me finish the prayer because, like,
- 35:51Speaker 1: I could feel the crowd was like, what's going on?
- 35:54Speaker 1: This guy started talking Arabic.
- 35:57Speaker 2: It was your moment. I wanted to ask. I did
- 36:00Speaker 2: want to ask you, but I didn't want to prolong it.
- 36:01Speaker 2: What was the prayer? What were you saying?
- 36:03Speaker 1: So that's Surah Al-Fatiha. It's basically the opening prayer of
- 36:07Speaker 1: the Quran. And it's basically like you say that for
- 36:09Speaker 1: the dead. And you say it whenever you pray every day.
- 36:13Speaker 1: And that's one of the only verses of the Quran
- 36:17Speaker 1: that I've had memorized since I was a kid. Because
- 36:19Speaker 1: as you can see, I'm not. I'm not a very
- 36:21Speaker 1: perfect Muslim, you know, I'm very tatted up. Like people
- 36:23Speaker 1: didn't see my gambling and all that. And, uh, but
- 36:25Speaker 1: that's the thing, man, there's so many Muslims that like hide,
- 36:28Speaker 1: hide shit too, you know? And like, I just, I
- 36:30Speaker 1: don't want to conform to one or the other, you know,
- 36:33Speaker 1: that's why I was just, I kind of put all
- 36:35Speaker 1: my stuff out there, you know? And, um, that was
- 36:37Speaker 1: just a prayer for my dad because he passed away
- 36:39Speaker 1: when I was 15 and I kind of navigated this
- 36:41Speaker 1: whole process without a father. You know, that's where the
- 36:43Speaker 1: Marine Corps was so important to me. Cause like, They
- 36:45Speaker 1: taught me how to tie my tie, how to shave
- 36:47Speaker 1: my face, how to press my uniform, how to even
- 36:50Speaker 1: speak and articulate myself. I'm so grateful for that. But
- 36:56Speaker 1: a big part of me getting here was losing my father.
- 37:00Speaker 1: That kind of pushed me a lot.
- 37:02Speaker 2: I saw someone online calling you an anti-American. And I
- 37:05Speaker 2: was like, what? Because he has a Muslim prayer for
- 37:09Speaker 2: his father?
- 37:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:10Speaker 2: How crazy is that? America is supposed to be a
- 37:13Speaker 2: melting pot of everybody.
- 37:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:15Speaker 2: All religions, all walks of life, all places in the world,
- 37:20Speaker 2: all come to here and become American. The idea that
- 37:22Speaker 2: you can't be an American, don't you have like stars
- 37:25Speaker 2: and stripes tattooed on your arm?
- 37:27Speaker 1: America tattooed on my arm?
- 37:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 37:28Speaker 1: You're bro.
- 37:29Speaker 2: You literally served.
- 37:31Speaker 1: There's no nuances anymore. They're like, oh, like if you
- 37:33Speaker 1: support Palestine, then you can't be fucking a Marine. And
- 37:36Speaker 1: if you're a Marine, it's fucking.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Well, that's crazy.
- 37:38Speaker 1: It's just like, bro, like.
- 37:40Speaker 2: It's crazy. Again, there's too many voices. There's too much noise.
- 37:44Speaker 2: And that's what's going to be really important for you
- 37:46Speaker 2: from now on is like, because you've become very famous
- 37:50Speaker 2: very quickly, is to surround yourself with people of character.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Where am I going to find them, Jeff?
- 37:56Speaker 2: That's a good question.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Like I'm saying, I've been on this journey fucking by
- 37:59Speaker 1: myself for a very long time. And like now, it's
- 38:02Speaker 1: like snakes in the grass. They're all appearing like, oh,
- 38:04Speaker 1: let me manage. Let me help you. We'll sponsor you.
- 38:07Speaker 1: We'll do this. We'll do that.
- 38:09Speaker 2: And I'm just like, But listen, part of that is
- 38:11Speaker 2: a good thing. These are opportunities that come out of success.
- 38:14Speaker 2: So it's like you could say they're taking advantage of you.
- 38:16Speaker 2: But no, it's like there's a moment that happened. You elevated.
- 38:20Speaker 2: You became something new. And now here you are in
- 38:22Speaker 2: this new stratosphere of life. And you have to, you know,
- 38:25Speaker 2: it's good. It's good that they want to sponsor you now.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Why would they want to sponsor you before? You've got
- 38:30Speaker 2: to realize it. Like you're 0-2 in the UFC. That's
- 38:33Speaker 2: how it is.
- 38:34Speaker 1: That's fair.
- 38:34Speaker 2: It's also, we've talked about this a thousand times in
- 38:37Speaker 2: the broadcast. The difference between the regional circuit and the
- 38:39Speaker 2: UFC is gigantic. And once you get into the UFC,
- 38:42Speaker 2: the reality of it all, the experience is overwhelming. And
- 38:45Speaker 2: it takes a few fights for a guy to really
- 38:47Speaker 2: show who he is. You see it over and over
- 38:49Speaker 2: and over again. It takes a few of those experiences
- 38:52Speaker 2: inside that octagon where you just develop the ability to
- 38:55Speaker 2: settle and then show your true skills. And some guys,
- 38:58Speaker 2: they never get there. Some guys, they're phenomenal in training camp,
- 39:01Speaker 2: phenomenal in the gym. even excellent in the regional circuit.
- 39:05Speaker 2: They get to the bright lights of the big show
- 39:07Speaker 2: and they just can't be themselves.
- 39:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 39:09Speaker 1: And that was the thing. This is my first, that
- 39:10Speaker 1: was my first arena fight. Like my, my last two
- 39:12Speaker 1: were in the apex. So it was just like complete,
- 39:16Speaker 1: like opposite, like from like, it felt like a sparring
- 39:19Speaker 1: match in the apex and going out to there. It
- 39:21Speaker 1: was just like, but I feel like I perform better in, in, in,
- 39:25Speaker 1: under pressure like that like like when like there's millions
- 39:28Speaker 1: of people watching and like the stakes are the highest
- 39:31Speaker 1: and it's like it's like do or die like fucking
- 39:33Speaker 1: i'm owing to like you know there's a high high
- 39:35Speaker 1: chance fucking three losses like i was on the chopping
- 39:38Speaker 1: block that was i was looking at you they were
- 39:40Speaker 1: they were telling me like oh they won't cut you
- 39:42Speaker 1: fucking but I'm not going to leave it a chance.
- 39:46Speaker 2: If you fight hard as a heavyweight, you have a
- 39:48Speaker 2: very good chance they won't cut you because the heavyweight
- 39:51Speaker 2: division is insanely shallow. It's really shallow.
- 39:54Speaker 1: I really hope they don't cut Ty. I saw him. Ty?
- 39:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. He put up a fucking tough fight, man. Oh,
- 39:59Speaker 2: he fought so well.
- 40:00Speaker 1: He fought so hard.
- 40:00Speaker 2: He's so fun, but I hate seeing that guy keep
- 40:03Speaker 2: taking all these punches. Like he's had seven losses in
- 40:06Speaker 2: a row, now eight.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:08Speaker 2: And some of them are just like, gee.
- 40:10Speaker 1: And that's the thing, like, you just want to go
- 40:11Speaker 1: out on top. Everyone's just like, oh, let me just
- 40:13Speaker 1: fucking win one. I just want to win one. I
- 40:14Speaker 1: just want, like, Tony Ferguson. Like, everyone's just like, and
- 40:17Speaker 1: that's where I'm just like, right now, I'm just like, fuck, man. Like,
- 40:20Speaker 1: does it really get bigger than this? You know, like,
- 40:22Speaker 1: upsetting the fucking MMA world? Like, sure. Like, what, are
- 40:25Speaker 1: they going to give me a fucking hokie and a
- 40:26Speaker 1: fight for the title next? Like, what's, like, what? He
- 40:29Speaker 1: got to jump all the way up.
- 40:30Speaker 2: He jumped all the way up in a lot of it.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Skip Volkov, the disrespect, man.
- 40:34Speaker 2: I know. Over Volkov.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Oh, fuck. But that's where we're in now. It's all
- 40:38Speaker 1: about entertainment, what sells fights.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Well, he's very marketable, obviously. He talks a lot of shit. Look,
- 40:46Speaker 2: it is a strategy on his part. I've talked to him.
- 40:48Speaker 2: He's a normal dude in real life. He's a nice guy.
- 40:51Speaker 2: I've talked to him in real life. But he's realized
- 40:54Speaker 2: there's a way to get eyes on you, and that
- 40:57Speaker 2: is to be crazy. It's so fake. Oh, it's totally fake.
- 41:00Speaker 2: I mean, he'll tell you it's fake.
- 41:01Speaker 1: I did it by being real.
- 41:03Speaker 5: You did?
- 41:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's true.
- 41:04Speaker 1: I mean, look, you don't have to do it that way.
- 41:07Speaker 2: But also, you know, he's had three fights in the
- 41:09Speaker 2: UFC and he's fighting for the title. Right. You know
- 41:12Speaker 2: what I'm saying? It's crazy, but look.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Fucking Cyril better beat him, man. Fuck.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Cyril's a hard dude to figure out. I know, man.
- 41:19Speaker 2: He's a different kind of cat. That motherfucker moves different
- 41:23Speaker 2: than everybody else. You know, we were talking about this.
- 41:26Speaker 2: I think basketball might be a really good starting point
- 41:31Speaker 2: for MMA. Like, if you can get really good at
- 41:33Speaker 2: basketball— The difference is you're a big person, first of all,
- 41:36Speaker 2: and then for heavyweights in particular. And you're doing constant plyometrics,
- 41:41Speaker 2: like basketball's plyometrics, right? You're moving this way. You're jumping.
- 41:45Speaker 2: You're leaping forward. There's all these, like, changes of angle
- 41:48Speaker 2: and direction.
- 41:49Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 41:49Speaker 2: That comes up very much in fighting, especially if you
- 41:53Speaker 2: can change direction quickly in the middle of a combination,
- 41:56Speaker 2: which Cyril can. Like, you see this Cyril-Taitui-Vasa fight. Yeah.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Incredible performance, right?
- 42:02Speaker 1: His footwork is unreal.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Footwork's out of control, man. His footwork's unreal. And against Pereira,
- 42:07Speaker 2: you saw how that translates against a guy as big
- 42:10Speaker 2: as him. You know, that footwork, that's a fucking real problem, man.
- 42:14Speaker 1: What did you think about those back-of-the-head shots, do you think?
- 42:17Speaker 2: I watched it. And I know that Pereira is blaming
- 42:22Speaker 2: Herb Dean. The problem is he's moving, and it's chaos.
- 42:27Speaker 2: The really egregious foul is the Tom Aspinall fouls. That's
- 42:31Speaker 2: the very egregious fouls, the eye pokes. Those are egregious.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Those are just fingers out in the eyeballs. Those are bad.
- 42:39Speaker 2: I'm of the opinion the moment that happens, they should
- 42:42Speaker 2: take a point away instantly, instantaneously. Your fingers goes in
- 42:45Speaker 2: a guy's eye, take a point away. You nut shot
- 42:48Speaker 2: a guy, unless it's a diversion, like sometimes you'll kick
- 42:52Speaker 2: and it'll kick someone's shin and then a foot will
- 42:55Speaker 2: go into the nuts. Accident. Clearly. But if you just
- 42:58Speaker 2: kick a guy in the nuts, one point. You grab
- 43:01Speaker 2: a fence, one point. Let's stop all this. Let's stop
- 43:04Speaker 2: all this. There's two ways to stop that. Another way
- 43:08Speaker 2: is you've got to figure out how to cover the fingers.
- 43:10Speaker 1: I think people are strategizing that now. Where, like, they know, like, fucking, oh,
- 43:14Speaker 1: if I Pokemon Eye, like, fucking, the damage is going
- 43:17Speaker 1: to be done. And, like, I got the advantage. Like, sure,
- 43:18Speaker 1: you could take a point. Like, fucking, but the damage
- 43:21Speaker 1: is already done. That happened to me in my pro debut.
- 43:25Speaker 1: The guy was like, Dipping his head down and fucking
- 43:29Speaker 1: coming up with the overhand. And when he popped his head,
- 43:31Speaker 1: he just fucking head-butted me around the chin.
- 43:33Speaker 2: On purpose.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Because he kept doing it, but the ref didn't even
- 43:36Speaker 1: see it. And I got a little wobbled and stuff.
- 43:39Speaker 1: But if I didn't finish him, I could have gotten screwed.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Nobody catches that stuff.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Well, Pantoja accused Joshua Vann of that in their fight.
- 43:48Speaker 2: And I think he thought that Joshua Vann was doing that,
- 43:51Speaker 2: but I don't think that was what was going on
- 43:52Speaker 2: at all. I think he was just getting frustrated that
- 43:55Speaker 2: Joshua Vann was... was moving ahead in the fight was.
- 43:58Speaker 1: In this in this last one yeah i didn't even
- 44:00Speaker 1: get to watch it it was it.
- 44:02Speaker 2: Was a fucking master class you know because joshua van
- 44:05Speaker 2: he won the title but it was from an injury
- 44:08Speaker 2: you know pantoja threw the head kick falls backwards breaks
- 44:11Speaker 2: his arm that's the fight it happened really quickly yeah
- 44:14Speaker 2: and so it was a very you know it was
- 44:17Speaker 2: a fluke yeah anticlimactic it was it was an injury
- 44:20Speaker 2: we don't know how the fight would have played out
- 44:23Speaker 2: if they had gone But then you see him against
- 44:25Speaker 2: Tatsuro Taira. He looked like a world champion. He beat.
- 44:28Speaker 2: He defended the title. And then against Pantoja, he just
- 44:31Speaker 2: put on a master class, man. His fucking boxing was
- 44:34Speaker 2: so sweet. Like Joshua Vann is something special, man. That
- 44:38Speaker 2: kid gets better every single time he fights. Every single.
- 44:41Speaker 2: And so Pantoja's getting real. He's young, too.
- 44:43Speaker 1: He's like 25, right?
- 44:45Speaker 2: Yeah. He's the real thing, man. He's something special. He's
- 44:49Speaker 2: something real special. And I feel like next time you
- 44:51Speaker 2: see him fight after he just beat Pantoja. He was
- 44:53Speaker 2: one of the greatest flyweights of all time and just
- 44:55Speaker 2: beat him decisively. After he beat Pantoja, I think he's
- 44:58Speaker 2: going to be even better next time. He was talking
- 45:01Speaker 2: in the press conference. He was upset about his victory.
- 45:03Speaker 2: He said, man, look at my face. He goes, that
- 45:05Speaker 2: dude shouldn't be touching me like this.
- 45:06Speaker 1: That's what makes you a champion.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Exactly. Exactly. But, you know, his path and your path,
- 45:13Speaker 2: they're very different paths. And everyone has to decide where
- 45:16Speaker 2: they're at in their life. And if you're at this
- 45:18Speaker 2: point where you're like, I don't know if I want
- 45:19Speaker 2: to do this anymore, I could just go out with that.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Well, I just want to know why I'm doing it.
- 45:23Speaker 1: That's what I need to go out and find that
- 45:25Speaker 1: answer because I'm like, if it's just the money, like,
- 45:28Speaker 1: I did option trading during COVID. Like, I used to
- 45:31Speaker 1: be a personal trainer when I got out of the Marines,
- 45:33Speaker 1: and then I started getting into option trading to learn
- 45:35Speaker 1: how to make money digitally. And, like, I started making, like,
- 45:38Speaker 1: six figures during the whole AMC and GameStop and Tesla
- 45:42Speaker 1: fucking pops and all that stuff.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:44Speaker 1: That's like one and i want to do like private
- 45:46Speaker 1: security as well i i did a few of that
- 45:48Speaker 1: like i'd go work with some of the high rollers
- 45:50Speaker 1: and casinos they just do private security and like i
- 45:53Speaker 1: i can find ways to make money i got gi
- 45:55Speaker 1: bill benefits that i like i go to school and
- 45:57Speaker 1: like like do so for me i'm like if it's
- 45:59Speaker 1: just the money like i could find a way to
- 46:02Speaker 1: make money without getting fucking my head my brain smashed
- 46:05Speaker 1: but the title yeah i mean fuck cool ufc title
- 46:09Speaker 1: but like Then it's like, oh, you're not a champion
- 46:12Speaker 1: until you defend the title. And then it's like fucking, oh,
- 46:14Speaker 1: and then there's this guy coming up and this guy.
- 46:16Speaker 1: And it's just like there's never– and it's not until
- 46:18Speaker 1: you're fucking old and beaten up and fucking they see
- 46:22Speaker 1: you fucking down.
- 46:23Speaker 2: That's true.
- 46:24Speaker 1: That's the business, man.
- 46:25Speaker 2: That is true. And if you talk to some of
- 46:27Speaker 2: these guys that stayed in too long and, you know,
- 46:30Speaker 2: they're slurring their words and you see how broken they are,
- 46:33Speaker 2: they have a difficult time walking and sitting down. It's
- 46:36Speaker 2: a struggle. Yeah.
- 46:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:38Speaker 1: My whole MMA– career because i got out in 2018
- 46:42Speaker 1: and i sent an email to parello and uh orange
- 46:46Speaker 1: county and ruka and uh it was basically just trial
- 46:48Speaker 1: by fire i was just sparring all the pros luke
- 46:50Speaker 1: rockhold michael bisbing fucking sean stricken came fucking was dropping
- 46:53Speaker 1: me as an amateur like i fucking just been sparring
- 46:56Speaker 1: over and then i went out to tiger fucking i
- 46:59Speaker 1: moved out to thailand if i was doing sparring out
- 47:01Speaker 1: there and i was just been even got to extreme
- 47:03Speaker 1: and fucking they i was sparring francis and gone on
- 47:05Speaker 1: my first week bro My first week, they threw me
- 47:08Speaker 1: in there with Ngannou, but it was the most terrifying
- 47:10Speaker 1: shit of my fucking life, bro. I went to the
- 47:13Speaker 1: apex and reassessed my life choices after that, bro. I
- 47:16Speaker 1: was just like, and so when you're talking about guys
- 47:19Speaker 1: that are staying too long, like, bro, like, I've just
- 47:21Speaker 1: been sparring. And maybe that's where my lack of development is,
- 47:23Speaker 1: you know, because I never focused on, like, just the footwork.
- 47:26Speaker 1: I never focused on just getting better at, like, thinking,
- 47:30Speaker 1: you know. It was always just this primal feeling of just, like,
- 47:33Speaker 1: I've been in street fights, you know, and, like, I
- 47:35Speaker 1: just fucking. Start picking it up as I go.
- 47:37Speaker 2: That's interesting. So do you have a main coach? Do
- 47:41Speaker 2: you have a head coach that just develops you?
- 47:43Speaker 5: No.
- 47:44Speaker 1: I bounce around a lot of gyms. Like I started Perillo.
- 47:47Speaker 1: I went with Nixick. I went to Freestyle May. I
- 47:49Speaker 1: went to Pohata. I've bounced around like so many and like.
- 47:52Speaker 1: because I've always been looking for the Cuss and Mick,
- 47:54Speaker 1: the fucking, Cuss and Tyson, the Rocky and Mick, and like,
- 47:59Speaker 1: Trevor and Gaethje, and like, bro, like, that doesn't come
- 48:03Speaker 1: unless you're fucking Hollywood now, like, fucking like, now, sure,
- 48:06Speaker 1: maybe I'll get fucking a bunch of coaches, like, yeah,
- 48:08Speaker 1: let me fucking develop you, but I'm like, who actually
- 48:11Speaker 1: fucking wants to, like, actually be my head coach, you know, like,
- 48:14Speaker 1: fucking like, who's actually like here, because nobody was like, oh, like,
- 48:17Speaker 1: I see fucking potential in you, and you could be
- 48:19Speaker 1: a world champion someday, and let me take you under
- 48:21Speaker 1: my wing, and And I'll give you privates for free. Like,
- 48:24Speaker 1: every single private I did, I paid for. Every single one. Like,
- 48:27Speaker 1: I never got any free privates. And that was a
- 48:30Speaker 1: big part of why I went into a lot of
- 48:31Speaker 1: financial struggle was, like, no sponsors, no fucking... And I'm, like, constantly, like... I'm, like,
- 48:36Speaker 1: just because I want... I just wanted my hand raised
- 48:38Speaker 1: one time. Just, like, I just wanted to know what
- 48:40Speaker 1: it felt like to get my fucking hand raised in
- 48:42Speaker 1: that octagon, man. And so that's why I fucking... I
- 48:45Speaker 1: did it on the biggest stage. It gets the biggest odds.
- 48:48Speaker 1: And I'm just like, bro, like.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Walk from the table when you're up, bro.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Well, listen, it's not the worst idea in the world,
- 48:56Speaker 2: especially you were saying that you did brain scans and
- 48:59Speaker 2: they found something in your brain.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it was just like white matter and stuff. So
- 49:03Speaker 1: they did MRI and then they're like, hey, we want
- 49:05Speaker 1: you to do another CT scan. It's like white specks
- 49:09Speaker 1: or something, white matter or something. They were like, oh,
- 49:12Speaker 1: it could be caused by headaches, could be caused by this. But,
- 49:14Speaker 1: um yeah i don't know well listen all that sparring
- 49:18Speaker 1: for sure gives you brain damage yeah i mean i'm
- 49:21Speaker 1: sure you had your bell rung sure you've been.
- 49:23Speaker 2: Dropped yeah this is part of the sparring everybody look
- 49:27Speaker 2: if you spar you're gonna get some damage yeah for
- 49:29Speaker 2: sure there's no no ifs ands or buts about the
- 49:31Speaker 2: business and um a lot of the brain damage that
- 49:34Speaker 2: fighters get it A lot of it comes from training.
- 49:38Speaker 2: A lot of it doesn't even come from the actual
- 49:39Speaker 2: fights itself.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:41Speaker 2: And it counts. I mean, people don't think about that.
- 49:43Speaker 2: They go, wow, he only got knocked out one time
- 49:47Speaker 2: in his whole career. Yeah, but how many sparring matches
- 49:49Speaker 2: did he have?
- 49:50Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. That was what I was telling you earlier. Like,
- 49:53Speaker 1: I went through fucking hell this camp. Like, I was fucking, like,
- 49:57Speaker 1: hard around, like, Iwan Kutalaba.
- 50:01Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 50:01Speaker 1: He's so explosive, so fast. He's fucking, I'm like, we're
- 50:05Speaker 1: working that oblique kick. This is something, another thing I
- 50:07Speaker 1: want to mention that was very interesting to me. My
- 50:10Speaker 1: whole camp, I trained for him to crawl towards me
- 50:14Speaker 1: like Jones does because he does the same thing. And
- 50:17Speaker 1: so what I did, I got down in the same
- 50:19Speaker 1: position on my knees to like crawl towards him because
- 50:22Speaker 1: that's what I've been practicing my whole camp. But then
- 50:24Speaker 1: he didn't do it this last fight. He just walked
- 50:26Speaker 1: towards me. So I don't know if fucking that was,
- 50:29Speaker 1: if I got in his head when I got down, but.
- 50:31Speaker 5: Maybe.
- 50:31Speaker 1: I thought that was very interesting because my whole camp,
- 50:33Speaker 1: every round, I was like, hey, crawl towards me like
- 50:35Speaker 1: Jones does. Crawl towards me like Jones does.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Oh, wow. Do the oblique kick.
- 50:39Speaker 1: I fully went into this fight thinking that my knees
- 50:41Speaker 1: were going to get caved to fucking. I completely, I
- 50:44Speaker 1: was like, bro, like, fucking, I don't care.
- 50:45Speaker 2: What do you think about that kick? The UFC is
- 50:47Speaker 2: now talking about trying to ban that kick.
- 50:51Speaker 1: I think this is combat. Like, I think it's, like,
- 50:54Speaker 1: a part of it. And it's unfortunate because a career
- 50:56Speaker 1: ender like Khalil Roundtree, he's.
- 50:59Speaker 2: Fucking, he's. And also Shavkat. You know, even Gary got
- 51:03Speaker 2: Shavkat's knee.
- 51:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:05Speaker 1: So it's, like, a part of it's, like, yeah, it
- 51:07Speaker 1: fucking sucks. But at the same time, it's, like, it's fighting,
- 51:11Speaker 1: you know. And it's, like, if this was a real fight, like,
- 51:13Speaker 1: that's pretty realistic.
- 51:15Speaker 2: So's eye pokes.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I say we get that football feel you were
- 51:20Speaker 1: talking about.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know what I'm saying? So are eye pokes,
- 51:22Speaker 2: and we don't allow eye pokes because it creates permanent injury.
- 51:25Speaker 2: I see what you're saying, but the reality is if
- 51:28Speaker 2: you were in a street fight, you'd poke the fuck
- 51:30Speaker 2: out of somebody's eyes, and you should. You know, if
- 51:32Speaker 2: you're fighting for your life, you'd fucking thumb right in
- 51:35Speaker 2: the eye 100%. Why wouldn't you?
- 51:37Speaker 5: 100%.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Why wouldn't you? So we have to decide. That's true.
- 51:40Speaker 2: what is good for the safety of the athletes long-term.
- 51:44Speaker 2: If you're going to have a long-term career with a
- 51:47Speaker 2: blown-out knee, okay, a blown-out knee takes you out for
- 51:50Speaker 2: a year. Not only does it take you out for
- 51:52Speaker 2: a year, but your knee might never be the same again.
- 51:54Speaker 2: You've had ACL surgery, you know.
- 51:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I've had them.
- 51:57Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. That was one of my fears
- 51:59Speaker 1: going into this fight. I was like, fuck, man, these
- 52:00Speaker 1: motherfuckers are going to fuck my shit up. Yeah. And
- 52:03Speaker 1: I was like, fuck it, let's go.
- 52:05Speaker 2: The John destroyed. Guy's knees.
- 52:08Speaker 1: I was there for Tiago Santos. I was there. And
- 52:11Speaker 1: that was the same night Masvidal knocked out Askren.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Right.
- 52:14Speaker 1: And, yeah, I don't think Tiago Santos was ever the
- 52:16Speaker 1: same after that fight.
- 52:16Speaker 2: He had both his knees reconstructed after that fight.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Fucking crazy.
- 52:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and Rampage Jackson, too. He blew out Rampage's knee.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Rampage said that my knee was never the same again
- 52:24Speaker 2: after that fight. I just don't think– I understand that
- 52:28Speaker 2: it's combat, but also so is poking in the eyes.
- 52:30Speaker 2: And we don't allow poking in the eyes.
- 52:32Speaker 1: So you think we shouldn't have– It's an argument.
- 52:34Speaker 2: It's an argument. There's a real conversation about whether or
- 52:36Speaker 2: not it should be legal. Andy Foster, I think, is
- 52:38Speaker 2: one of the best, without a doubt, athletic commission directors
- 52:42Speaker 2: from California. He thinks it should be banned.
- 52:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:45Speaker 2: And the UFC thinks it should be banned. It's just
- 52:47Speaker 2: too many guys. Ruzaboyev, who just fought MVP. MVP blew
- 52:51Speaker 2: out his knee. Psy kicked his knee. His knee's completely
- 52:54Speaker 2: reconstructed now. He went into surgery right after the fight.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Now, would it be, like, just the oblique kick or, like?
- 53:00Speaker 2: Side kicks and oblique kicks.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Just those two.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Just attacking the knee with a straight kick that
- 53:06Speaker 2: hyperextends it. So you'd still be able to leg kick, obviously.
- 53:10Speaker 2: You'd still be able to round kick to the leg.
- 53:12Speaker 2: But the issue is the hyperextension of the knee.
- 53:15Speaker 5: Yes.
- 53:16Speaker 2: Because it just takes one and your knee is fucked
- 53:18Speaker 2: forever and your career is over. Yeah. It's just why
- 53:21Speaker 2: are we doing that? Why don't we poke each other
- 53:25Speaker 2: in the eye?
- 53:26Speaker 1: We're going to do that. That's very true.
- 53:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:28Speaker 1: It's a sport at the end of the day. It's
- 53:30Speaker 1: not a street fight.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and people say, well, you can heel hook. You
- 53:33Speaker 2: could tap on a heel hook. You cannot tap for
- 53:35Speaker 2: a sidekick to the knee. That sidekick comes and especially
- 53:39Speaker 2: catches you. Did you see the Ruzaboya, the screenshot of
- 53:43Speaker 2: what it looked like when MVP caught him? His fucking
- 53:47Speaker 2: shit was totally sideways.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Oh, fuck.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Yeah, just everything's ripped apart inside of there. It's gone. Yeah.
- 53:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:54Speaker 2: I mean, one shot. I'm all for it.
- 53:56Speaker 1: I like my knees fucking.
- 53:57Speaker 2: I just don't. I think there's things we can't do.
- 54:00Speaker 2: We can't bite. We can't eye gouge. We can't fish hook.
- 54:03Speaker 2: There's a bunch of things we can't do because you
- 54:05Speaker 2: want to protect the fighters. Look at his knee. Oh, shit.
- 54:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 54:09Speaker 2: Look how sideways that shit is. That's blown. Blown out, man. Goddamn.
- 54:15Speaker 2: I mean, that's knee probably never going to be the
- 54:17Speaker 2: same again.
- 54:18Speaker 1: How did you feel about them letting him go even
- 54:20Speaker 1: though he's winning?
- 54:21Speaker 2: I think MVP should be at welterweight, first of all.
- 54:24Speaker 2: I think at welterweight, he's almost unstoppable. So fucking difficult
- 54:27Speaker 2: to handle. Ian Gary was the only guy that figured
- 54:30Speaker 2: out how to handle him. I don't think the power
- 54:32Speaker 2: translates as well at 85. Some of these 85 guys,
- 54:35Speaker 2: like Gregory Rodriguez and Joe Pfeiffer, they're fucking huge, man.
- 54:39Speaker 2: I don't know how they make 85, but these guys
- 54:41Speaker 2: look like heavyweights. But he's one of my favorite fighters
- 54:44Speaker 2: to watch. Because his fight with Kevin Holland, people could
- 54:47Speaker 2: talk all the shit about it was a boring fight
- 54:49Speaker 2: and nothing happened, but When you got a guy as
- 54:52Speaker 2: good as Kevin Holland and he's just like completely frustrated
- 54:55Speaker 2: because he can't do shit. And this guy's just dancing
- 54:58Speaker 2: in front of him and popping him and kicking him
- 55:00Speaker 2: and punching him anytime he wants. It's nuts to watch, man.
- 55:03Speaker 2: He's also 38, 39. Like how old is MVP now?
- 55:09Speaker 2: How old is Michael Venepage? For me, he was like
- 55:15Speaker 2: proof of concept because I was always telling people. I
- 55:17Speaker 2: was like the thing that's missing– In MMA, 39. See,
- 55:22Speaker 2: the reality is if you're natural, if you're a natural
- 55:25Speaker 2: athlete and you're 39 years old, it's almost over. Yeah.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Unless you're heavyweight. Heavyweights have a little bit more life
- 55:32Speaker 2: to them. Like Francis is still at the top of
- 55:35Speaker 2: the heap and I think he's like 40 now.
- 55:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:37Speaker 2: But there's a time where you just can't move. All
- 55:42Speaker 2: the injuries, all the training, you can't move as well anymore.
- 55:44Speaker 2: You're a little bit slower. I was always saying, though,
- 55:48Speaker 2: that There's a thing that's missing in combat sports, and
- 55:52Speaker 2: that thing is point fighting karate. That point fighting style
- 55:56Speaker 2: is so fucking hard to deal with. If you have
- 55:59Speaker 2: never sparred anybody that does that shit, the moment you
- 56:02Speaker 2: spar them, you're like, yo, this is crazy. These guys
- 56:06Speaker 2: can cover distance. They just jump in, and then they're
- 56:09Speaker 2: out of there, and they move out of the way,
- 56:10Speaker 2: and you get frustrated. And you start chasing them, and
- 56:13Speaker 2: then you get countered. It's a totally different element. On
- 56:17Speaker 2: its own, it's no good. Like it's no good as
- 56:19Speaker 2: a standalone style because guys could take you down. You
- 56:22Speaker 2: don't know how to wrestle. You're fucked. You don't know
- 56:24Speaker 2: how to do jiu-jitsu. You get strangled. You don't know
- 56:26Speaker 2: leg kicks. You get your legs kicked out from under you.
- 56:29Speaker 2: But if you know all those things and you come
- 56:32Speaker 2: from that point fighting background, that ability to blitz, that
- 56:36Speaker 2: ability to dive in and out and hit someone from
- 56:39Speaker 2: a distance they can't hit you is crazy. Yeah. And he,
- 56:43Speaker 2: to me, was, like, proof of concept. And I think
- 56:45Speaker 2: there's going to be a lot of other guys that are, like,
- 56:47Speaker 2: elite point fighters that decide to enter into MMA. And
- 56:52Speaker 2: I think they're going to have, like, some pretty incredible
- 56:54Speaker 2: success if they're special. Raymond Daniels did it for a
- 56:58Speaker 2: little bit in Bellator.
- 57:02Speaker 5: 720.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Yeah, 720 punch. But he also, like, did it in
- 57:06Speaker 2: Glory kickboxing, too. He had some great fights in Glory
- 57:09Speaker 2: kickboxing as well.
- 57:11Speaker 3: But.
- 57:12Speaker 2: Again, he's a little older. That's the problem. These guys,
- 57:14Speaker 2: they have these long careers in the one discipline. They
- 57:17Speaker 2: get really good. And then by the time they start
- 57:19Speaker 2: doing MMA, they're 34, 35, four or five years later,
- 57:23Speaker 2: their career's over. So you don't have enough time to
- 57:25Speaker 2: develop and really grow. And you're also going to have
- 57:28Speaker 2: a gang of injuries. I mean, look, I wish nothing
- 57:33Speaker 2: but the best for MVP. I love that guy. I
- 57:34Speaker 2: think he's awesome. He's got an awesome personality. He's had
- 57:37Speaker 2: some boring fights, though, unfortunately. And I think it's entertainment. Yeah.
- 57:42Speaker 1: It's your fucking knockouts.
- 57:44Speaker 2: It's a little bit of both. It's a little bit
- 57:46Speaker 2: of entertainment. It's a little bit of sport. This episode

- 58:53Speaker 1: How do you feel about that? You've been around for
- 58:55Speaker 1: a long time. When the Fertittas ran it compared to
- 58:58Speaker 1: now how Paramount runs it, do you like how it
- 59:02Speaker 1: is now compared to where it's all about entertainment versus
- 59:06Speaker 1: who's the best at dominance?
- 59:08Speaker 2: Well, I'm a purist. I don't think you should ever
- 59:11Speaker 2: stand a guy up. I don't think you should ever
- 59:13Speaker 2: separate someone when they're on the cage. I cheer for
- 59:15Speaker 2: it when it happens, just like every other moron.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Yeah, stand him up.
- 59:18Speaker 2: But, I mean, if you gave me the ability to
- 59:20Speaker 2: write the rules, I would never stand anybody up, ever.
- 59:23Speaker 2: If you get taken down and someone's on top of
- 59:26Speaker 2: you giving you noogies for five rounds— Figure out how
- 59:28Speaker 2: to get up. If you can't figure out how to
- 59:30Speaker 2: get up, you lost. Simple. You might not lose the
- 59:33Speaker 2: same way that you beat Gable. You know, that's a
- 59:36Speaker 2: way more exciting way to win.
- 59:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 59:38Speaker 2: But you still won. You held him down. You gave
- 59:41Speaker 2: him some of these. He couldn't get up. That's the fight. Boo.
- 59:45Speaker 2: The audience boos. Okay.
- 59:46Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Still better than baseball. Fuck off. You know what I mean? Like,
- 59:50Speaker 2: I think it's fighting. And I think, I also think,
- 59:53Speaker 2: very controversially... You shouldn't be stood up not only at
- 59:58Speaker 2: the end of the round. I think the next fight,
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: the next round rather, it's the same fight. You should
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: be put back in the same position.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: It should be just probably 15 minutes straight.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: You could do that. Probably was 10. It was 10-minute
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: rounds and then a second 5-minute round. But I don't
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: think you earn a stand-up. Like every fight starts standing up, right?
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: But once a guy takes you down. If he takes
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: you down, you didn't earn getting back up. So if
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: you didn't earn getting back up, I think you should
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: go right back to the same position. It's one fight.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: It's not five fights. If you have a five-minute round,
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: you get five different chances to avoid a takedown.
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: Why?
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: You've already been taken down. You never figured out how
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: to get up.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: It's funny you say that because that was what we
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: were talking about with my fight camp. I was a
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: little like, like fucking they're gonna stand me up at
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: the fucking at the end of the round right so
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: you know it's true every fight starts on the feet
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: And if you're a wrestler or any kind of grappler
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: you have to take a guy down every single round
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: and that's it's kind of crazy because in a real
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: fight like a fight is a fight it's like not
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: five five minute look the argument of like having guys
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: fight for 25 minutes straight is crazy no fight would
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: probably last that long everybody would Gas out. Of course.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: It would be a battle of attrition. Only guys like Merab.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: Merab Dobrish will be the king of the world.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Facts. I'm not going 25 minutes. It's crazy.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Fucking heavyweights going 25 minutes is fucking mad. And when
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: you do have heavyweights going 25 minutes, the damage they
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: do to each other is horrific. It's horrific. You know,
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: like the Cain Velasquez, Junior Dos Santos fights, man. I've
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: watched those back and forth. And especially, you know, Junior
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: knocked him out in the first fight, caught him with
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: a punch, and then Kane destroyed him in the next
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: two fights.
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: And they were prolonged, horrific beatings.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: Yeah. That's why I came up watching. Look at the
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Kane trilogies. And then put the Brock Lesnar.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: Oh, Kane was something, man.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: That was always my three. Kane Velasquez, Jon Jones, and
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: Mike Tyson. I was like, if I could put those
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: three together, that's the fighter.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: What about Fedor?
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Fedor is.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: I just wasn't watching him the same, but I hadn't
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: realized it yet. But fucking Blagoi beat him.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: Blagoi. In Sambo. Combat Sambo. By points. Yeah.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: You're wearing a gi. You're fact-checking me. Yeah.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: You're wearing a gi. You're wearing shoes. There's a lot
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: going on. Blagojev's a bad motherfucker.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: I never really watched the Pride era and all that stuff.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: I started watching around Anderson Silva, Chuck Liddell, and right
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: around then.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Blagojev came back from getting stabbed in the heart.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a bad motherfucker.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: That's a bad motherfucker. He was a tough dude, man.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Very tough dude. But it's like heavyweight fighting, I think.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: There's never been a heavyweight division that was more stacked
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: than Pride in the early 2000s.
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: Never.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: Never.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: Heavyweight division in Pride, I think, was the glory days
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: of the heavyweight division. You had Mirko Krokop. You had
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Mark Coleman. You had Minotauro Noguera. You had Fedor. You had, like,
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: one after the other. Killer, killer, killer, killer. It was
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: just like this insane shark tank of elite fighters. And
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: then they were all fighting juice to the tits. They
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: were all over in Japan. You know? It was a
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: different world.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: That's what we're... Don Fry. I was asking... Birmingham, how
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: do you pronounce his name, over at Wastewell?
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: Brigham. Brigham.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: I was asking him about the peptides and stuff because
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: I heard there's talk about maybe getting some of the
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: recovery peptides approved now in the UFC and stuff. So
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: I don't know if that's where it's going to be headed.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: It would certainly help. I do not know where they're
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: going with that, whether or not it would be possible,
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: and whether or not eventually it gets through. But there's
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: certain things that are just not performance enhancing. All they
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: do is help soft tissue injuries. BPC-157, I think, would
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: be an easy one to approve. That's the best one,
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: I think, for soft tissue injuries. Have you used them? Oh, yeah.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: Fuck yeah. I use the shit out of that stuff.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: I've never used it. Massive.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Everyone always tells me Wolverine stack.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: Oh, it's great.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: But now there's so many people. Everyone and their mom
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: sells peptides now. You don't even know the good.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: True. That's why a company like Wastewell is so important
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: because it's a compounding pharmacy. They own a compounding pharmacy.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: So you know that you're getting an actual pure version
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: of BPC-157. Whereas if you order it online, who knows
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: where it's coming from? You're getting it online. It's getting
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: delivered to you. It might be coming from China. It
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: might be coming from Vietnam. Who knows? It might be real.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: It might be great. It might be total bullshit. People
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: have run tests on different peptides they found online, and
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: a lot of them are just total bullshit. Like 20%
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: of what they say is in there. It's like you're
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: just guessing because it's not regulated. So it should be legal,
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: and it should be regulated. And then.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: If that's the case, I think then there should be
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: an argument for certain peptides that help people recover from
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: injuries because this is a sport where you're practicing injuring
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: each other all day long.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Everyone's fucking injured.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: If you want fighters to compete at a high level,
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: once they get into the octagon, you're going to have
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: to help them recover along the way. And it's not
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: just cold plunges and saunas and massage. BPC-157 will help
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: them recover. And it's not going to make them a
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: super athlete. It's not going to make them faster or stronger.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: It's just going to help heal injuries.
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: I mean, that's my position. But I think it's weird
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: that you can use like some things that work great,
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: like creatine. Yeah. Creatine's phenomenal. And that's legal?
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Well, I didn't know this, but the PI was educating
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: us how the creatine helps your brain.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: I'm like, fucking, dude, is this going to make me smarter?
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Creatine 100% increases mental performance. If I have a day
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: where I haven't gotten much sleep, and I don't take
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: creatine versus a day where I haven't got much sleep
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: and I do take creatine, there's a giant difference. And
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: they've done studies on this. They show when sleep-deprived people,
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: creatine basically mitigates all the negative effects of sleep deprivation.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: So you can perform like mentally at the same level.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Do you take the powder form?
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: Powder form, yeah. Yeah, there's a company called Create. They
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: make creatine gummies. They make a bunch of different, but
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: they also have powder. Each one of them is five milligrams.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: So I just take these, or five grams?
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Five grams. Usually it's five grams, yeah.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: It's grams, yeah. It's not milligrams. So I take two
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: five-gram packets in the morning, two in the night.
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: That's how I do it.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: The PI gives us the Thorne supplements.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's great stuff. Thorne's awesome stuff. Yeah. I dry
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: scoop it, just throw it in my mouth, drink water.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: It just doesn't taste good. It's just, it's performance.
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: But creatine is one of the few absolutely legitimate supplements
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: that I think most people, especially most athletes, should be taking.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: Fuck yeah. And it's good for your brain just overall.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: It's great for it.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I need to go to, I haven't
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: taken any fucking, because that was the other thing too.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: They were telling me like once you get closer to
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: the fight, like you don't need to be taking as
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: much creatine because it's like, I don't know if it
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: like harder to dehydrate you or fucking.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: First of all, you're not cutting any weight. So the
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: difference between you and a lighter weight guy, I could
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: see the argument for a lighter weight guy because with
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: lighter weight guys, if you're trying to cut some weight,
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: what's going on is creatine, one of the benefits of it,
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: it lets you hold more water. So you have more
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: water in your muscles. Your muscles are stronger. Your brain
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: works better. There's more water in your system. I think
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: that's how it works. There's a bunch of reasons why
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: it works, but I do know that it makes people
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: hold more water. Um, so if you're a fighter that's
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: cutting weight, like some of these guys, which some of
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: these guys cut insane amounts of weight. Did you see that, um,
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: Ryan Garcia, Connor Ben fight where they said he weighed
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: 30 pounds more the day of the fight?
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: What?
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: It didn't help him. It was fucking crazy.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: I didn't think it was going to help him.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: I didn't think Ryan was going to win that.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: You didn't?
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Like, I like, I like Ryan, but like, I heard
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: he was, like, fucking partying a little while before.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: Really?
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Because he had, like, his birthday, like, two months before.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Just two months? That's it?
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: Maybe, yeah.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: That's okay. Yeah, two months is all right for a
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: guy that good, that young. Yeah, I thought Ryan was
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: on a totally different level. My position was, no disrespect
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: to Conor Benn, was, like, I watched Ryan compete against
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: guys like Gervonta, like, you know, guys, like, at a
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: very high level, Roley. Like, he's been in there with
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: some of the absolute best guys in the division.
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: And I just think he's just a different level. That's
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: what my position was. And also his speed is fucking crazy.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: His speed is nuts, man.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: His left hook is just fucking preposterous. Did it say 178? Yeah,
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: less than 12 hours from weigh-ins. Connor Ben is rehydrated
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: from 146 to 178.4.
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: That's not good. Like, that's, like, very unhealthy for your
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: body to go to that state where you're almost dead. Like,
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: what do you walk around at?
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: Usually I was a little heavier. I was at 255,
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: but for this camp I went down. I was about 240, 245.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: Has anybody tried to talk you into going to 205?
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: I did my pro debut at 205. Did you? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: So I know I could do it. Perlow was the
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: one that told me, he's like, I think I like
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: you better at heavyweight. This was, like, when I was
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: an amateur. He's like, because it's the speed. And I
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: feel like it's a different fight. Like, when I'm telling you,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: when I was sparring, like, E1 and Strickland's not a 205,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: but that motherfucker gets heavy sometimes. But, yeah, I feel
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: like it's, like, a lot more thinking than heavyweight. You know, like,
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: it's more, like.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Speed and movement. Yeah.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: I feel like they're a little smarter than me, but.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: So you're really... considering like wrapping it up.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: I'm taking it as I go right now you know
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: but I just really don't know you know because it's
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: like brother I'm legit filing bankruptcy this year like that's
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: fucking like I really ran myself all the way to
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: debt like fucking chasing this fucking shit you know like
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: don't get me wrong like I got a TRX fucking
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: I paid for my tattoos like 30 grand on that
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: shit I did PRK put that on the card like
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: I took my mom to instead of LASIK so they
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: don't you don't have the flap And I took my
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: mom to Mecca. And it was just like, bro, like,
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: I just been fucking, I burnt my boats. And I
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: was just like, you know, fucking.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: Back against the wall.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: That's it, brother. Fucking, we got to win.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: Well, now that you're in debt, you probably should have
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: a couple fights to get out of debt.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing, too. Especially capitalized. My life is
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: so fucking crazy. Like, I need, like, a lawyer, a
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: financial advisor right now. I need some fucking, like, some guidance,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: you know. And that's the thing where I'm just like,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: I'm like. I got what I wanted, and now I'm
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: just like, okay, what the fuck is next? That's the thing.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: People are fucking like, how is it just this one win?
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: I'm just telling you, all I wanted was to fucking
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: have my hand raised in the octagon. I just wanted
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: to know what that fucking felt like. That was the
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: fucking best possible thing. ever, you know, and the possible result.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: And the fact like, like I genuinely was like praying this, this,
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: this time, like that was the first time, like I
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: was like legit, like, and it wasn't even just like my,
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: just me. Like I had my, my Muslim friends, my,
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: my Christian friends, like it was fucking like, there was
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: just so many people like I'm a spiritual guy. Like
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: that's the thing when people are like, Oh, he's so
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: contradicting sometimes. And I was just like, I've always been like,
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: like very like more spiritual than, than following just the books. And, um, Yeah,
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: I felt like there was something with me to fight.
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: I felt like it wasn't just me in there. I
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: felt dirt biking like three weeks ago with Strickland, and
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: it fucking busted my fucking shoulder.
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: Why are you doing that with him?
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: And you saw he just crashed, dude.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: He's crazy.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: You literally have to sign a waiver where you fucking
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: hang out with Strickland fucking from now on. Like, bro, like.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: Yeah, he just crashed hard. His buddy got really fucked up.
- 1:12:04Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: That's the guy from Embedded, Chris. Yeah, yeah. He's fucking.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: Yeah, don't do that. Don't do what he does. And
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: I think he wasn't wearing a helmet, right?
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: No, I don't think they were. Thank God I wore one. Strickland, ironically,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: he's the one that told me not to ride the
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: dirt bike. He did tell me. Do as I say,
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: not as I do. He's like, you got a fight
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: coming up. You probably shouldn't do that. I'm like, fuck you.
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: You can't tell me to do that.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: Sean's crazy.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: He's like, but put a helmet on. I'm like, all right,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: I'll put the helmet on. Thank God I did.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: Sean is legitimately fucking crazy. So what was this? This
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: is a car that flipped over.
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: I think they had, were they in a side by side?
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: Oh, okay. They're in like a buggy. Yeah. Don't, but
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: don't do this.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Strickland is the fucking man. Cause like as much as
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: I've used to fucking hate this dude, when he used
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: to come to the gym at Ruka, I used to
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: hate him. So that was right, right after the Usman
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: fight and he crashed his motorcycle. And, um, this guy,
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: he would, he would come in and his leg is
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: all fucking busted up. Like, And, like, he refused to
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: take fucking pain meds. And he was just always talking shit.
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: And he would fuck me up. That's why I know
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: he was always pissing. He was always fucking me up.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: And going through that, I was just like, man, like,
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: this dude's at least he's fucking real. You know, like.
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: He's very real.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: Like, he calls out everybody, you know, like. Because he
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: used to talk shit about all the fucking Palestinian shit.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: And then he started talking about the Israeli shit. And
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: then he's fucking.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: He was pro-Trump.
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: And then he was, like, anti-Trump. And it was like.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: He speaks his mind, but another part, I think he
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: does his rage bait just a little bit.
- 1:13:37Speaker 7: Oh, for sure.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: He knows how to push people's buttons.
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: He's having fun.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: He knows how to get the clicks. He's a smart motherfucker.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: He makes his investments.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: This dude fucking just has guns, cars, motorcycles, and fucking.
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: He's very smart with his investment. He's set. He told
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: me about it. I asked him about it. It's like
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: he put away his money. He's invested mutual funds, the
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: whole deal.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: He called me after the fight.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: Did he?
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. He's like, I knew you were going to
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: be on some dumb shit. He's like, don't you fucking walk.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: He's like, this is when you get the fucking money.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: This is when you get to fuck the bitches. This
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: is when you get to fucking. This is when all
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: the opportunity comes. And I was like, yeah, but does he?
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: Well, it's your decision. It's really you can't let anybody
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: decide for you because if you do something for someone else,
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: especially something like fighting. And you wound up getting knocked
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: out in your next fight and you were half into
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: it and half out of it.
- 1:14:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: You know, my advice for anyone who's always got one
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: foot in and one foot out is get out.
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: Always.
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: Every time I know a guy that's like, I think
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: one more fight and then I'm done, like, stop now.
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: Stop now. Like, most of the time that's the best
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: advice because if you're not fully, completely, 100% committed to
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: being the best fighter possible and, like, on that path,
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: you're going to run into someone who is.
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: You know?
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: Now, you can... Brendan, shod me here. Like, when you
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: look at me, like, do you really think I could
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: be a world champion?
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: Listen, if you can do what you just did against
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: Gable and then do that again against someone else similar, like,
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: what if you did that to Taito Iwasa or what
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: if you did that to, you know, fill in the blank,
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: whoever the fighter is.
- 1:15:14Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: Pavlov. There's a lot of different guys who are really
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: good and if you can keep improving and keep beating
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: these guys in that direction and then... Get a legitimate
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: coach like maybe even Trevor. Get Trevor Whitman or get
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: Farasa Habi, who I think is one of the great
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: masterminds of the sport. Get someone who's going to work
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: with you on technique and really try to develop you
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: as a fighter as opposed to just you sparring all
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: the time and you training all the time. You can
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: learn a lot sparring all the time, but you don't
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: learn the same amount that you would if you're coached.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: And if you're coached correctly, like on a day in,
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: day out, daily basis. Have you seen the Art of
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: Violence videos that Justin puts out with Trevor? Trevor and
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: Justin are right next to each other all the time. Trevor,
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: who's a genius, is giving him instruction. Yes, that's it.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: We want to dip to the left. There it is.
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: There it is. Okay, let's do that again. Do that again.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: Set it up. They're setting it up. They're technical. They're
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: going over all the aspects. They're rolling with punches. And
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: they have counters set up. They're doing the collar tie
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: and the uppercut. There are all these things that they're
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: preparing for for these moments. And they're going over it
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: over and over again until it's cemented into the central
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: nervous system. That's what you need. If you want to
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: really excel and you want to really be like a world-class,
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: world championship, potential caliber fighter, you have to have that.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: You have to have that.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: I agree. And That was always my issue. I was
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: really trying to find that.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: Well, Eric Nixick was in your corner.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: I don't even get to talk about that. Nixick popped
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: in my corner because Sergey was supposed to have his
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: baby and he left. I woke up fight day. The
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: day of the fight, he's like, hey, it was like
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: 2 in the morning. He's like, hey, I had to
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: go back to Vegas. My wife might be going into labor.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: And I was like.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: Fucking this is like definitely worst case scenario. And that's
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: when I knew I knew Nixick was there. And Nixick's
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: a fucking amazing guy. Like he fucking he he worked
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: with me when I was in an extreme. When I
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: first came out, he walked with me for my first fight.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: And I just get he's like super busy, you know,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: like he's got so many fighters, you know, and especially
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: I was just I just showed up at the gym.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: That's my thing is like I've always just showed up
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: at the gym and I'm like, all right, fucking. Let's
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: fucking spar, you know? And then people are like, who's
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: this guy? Maybe you get a little attention, but then
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: they know how to sit and develop with you the
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: way you're talking about traveling and stuff.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: Well, Eric can certainly do that. And you're training in
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: Vegas all the time. And now you guys have an understanding.
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: He came and showed up and he shocked the world.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: He fucking came for you. He showed up for you.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: I literally just texted him. He was like, got you, homie.
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: He's a great human being.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: And I really like we were in the back. The
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: way he communicated and was like, Like, he was breaking
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: shit down. Like, he was, like, very analytical with it.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: And that was very good for me. And then people
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: were like, oh, well, he didn't fight. And I'm like, well, fucking, like,
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: why does that matter if he's a good coach and
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: he's fucking effectively communicating all these things?
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: Yeah, this idea that you have to be a fighter
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: to be a great coach, I understand why people say that.
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: Because I think there are some elements of competition that
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: you really won't understand unless you've been hit, unless you've
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: hit someone, unless you've been in there, unless you've done.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: But I also think you can't dismiss special people. There
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: are special people that analyze things and have an understanding
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: of things. Like here's a perfect example. John Donaher. Widely
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: considered to be the greatest jiu-jitsu coach ever. Didn't compete.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: Doesn't matter. He understands jiu-jitsu at the most comprehensive and
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: most analytical way humanly possible. He literally trains and teaches,
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: or at least doesn't train anymore. He's had so many injuries,
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: like two hip replacements, knee replacement. He's all fucked up.
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: Which is what kept him from competing. But his dedication
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: to coaching is unparalleled. He's in there seven days a week.
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: He's like constantly training these guys and look what he's achieved.
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: Guys like Gordon Ryan, Gary Tone and Craig Jones, all
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: these guys who came out of there, Nicky Rod. They
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: all will tell you.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: Craig Jones is going crazy. He was just making all
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: these posts and he's like, oh, he had turf toe
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: or something like that.
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: He's the funniest guy in jujitsu by far. He's so funny.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: He invited me. He was telling me like, Hey, we
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: could do some, something like a, I think he said
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: his plan going over to, to Israel, Palestine and like
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: doing some kind of B team thing over there. So
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: I've never met him, but he fucking extended that.
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: So what would you do over there?
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: No, I think maybe he was doing like a seminar
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: or something like that. Are we allowed to talk about this?
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: You can talk about anything you want.
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: How do you feel about the genocide there that's going
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: on with all the women?
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: Well, I've been very open about it. I think it's horrific.
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: I think it's terrifying that people will dismiss it. And
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: here's the thing that they do. They use different terms, right?
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: They say it doesn't technically qualify as a genocide because
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: it's not a specific targeting of one race or one
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: type of people. Right. Let's stop with that word. Let's
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: say a horrific injustice against humanity. Let's talk about how
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: many thousands and tens of thousands of women and children
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: have been destroyed by missiles from the sky. How many
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: buildings are gone? Only 90% of Gaza is gone. There's
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: no way you can look at that and not say
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: it's a horrific incident. Whatever it is, whatever name it is,
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: it's a horror. It's one of the most You look
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: at the video footage of Gaza, it's fucking terrifying. There's
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: humans that are just under that rubble that they're never
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: going to find.
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: No.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: And all the amputations are happening without anesthesia. You're seeing
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: the kids. Like, that's my biggest thing is, like, in
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: Iraq and Afghanistan, there's rules of engagement. Like, you had
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: to look a motherfucker in the eyes before you killed him. Like,
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: you had to go into a booby-trapped building knowing that
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: the enemy was in there with a fucking suicide bomber
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: vest or a grenade and fucking... go in there regardless
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: and it's like these guys just got a little drone
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: and boop just took out a hundred.
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: People drones missiles and it's and it's all funded by
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: the United States and it was funded you know as
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: much as people hate this Iran war and I hate
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: it the Biden administration funded that when it was going
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: on with.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: Israel how do we make changes Joe because like you
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: see so many people trying to stand up like Macklemore
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: and like fucking getting cancelled and like you're seeing like
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: so many people trying to like call out like with
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: the Epstein files and fucking like Bro, like, it was fucking, like,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: as clear as day, you know, like, that there's all
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: these people complicit, but, like, nobody's being prosecuted. Nobody's being, like, charged.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: The Macklemore thing is really crazy. Because if you ever...
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: Let's play his actual speech. Find his actual speech. Because
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: people were saying that it's anti-Semitic. There's nothing about what
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: he's saying that's anti-Semitic. If you listen to the entirety
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: of the speech, he is... I'll play it before we
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: comment on it, because I think there's a real problem
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: now with clips and narratives where people hear a piece
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: of something and then they make it, they have a,
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: you know, oh, you can't say that. Oh, he's doing
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: this or always doing that. Like everyone's losing nuance. What
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: he's doing is talking about what to most people seems
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: like a crime against humanity. That's what most people look
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: at it. And that's how they see it. And what
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: he's saying is in no way And I don't like
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: that term Semitic either because like the Palestinians, a lot
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: of those Palestinians are Semites. And a lot of those
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: Palestinians are truly descendants of people that probably were Jewish
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: at one point in time and converted to Islam. This
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: is not an anti-Semitic thing because a lot of the
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: people that live in Israel are Jews from Eastern Europe.
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: Like they're not even from that place.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: And there's a lot of Jews that are like, against
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: the genocide as well.
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: A lot of Jews. But let's hear what he's saying.
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: Let's hear what he's saying so we can... I say
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: this all day.
- 1:23:26Speaker 5: One of the reasons why I wanted to come on
- 1:23:28Speaker 5: this tour was because I wanted to stand up here
- 1:23:32Speaker 5: on stages and stadiums across America and say two words
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: that are very near and dear to my heart.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: Free Palestine. I said free Palestine.
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: I want those words to be loud and clear so
- 1:24:00Speaker 5: the people from Gaza all the way to the occupied
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: West Bank know that we have not forgotten them. And
- 1:24:09Speaker 5: this next song was inspired by the bravery of Columbia
- 1:24:15Speaker 5: University students who led an encampment movement that mobilized the
- 1:24:21Speaker 5: entire world, opened up hearts, myself included. So thank you
- 1:24:25Speaker 5: to those students that risked their diplomas, that risked their tuition,
- 1:24:28Speaker 5: that risked their scholarships, that stood up and said no.
- 1:24:32Speaker 5: CUAD students, Students for Justice in Palestine, and Jewish Voices
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: for Peace, thank you guys. To all of my Jewish
- 1:24:41Speaker 5: brothers and sisters, Criticism of Israel, criticism of apartheid, being
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: against genocide in no way is a criticism of you.
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: My message is for peace, love, for all human beings
- 1:24:59Speaker 5: to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality. So I
- 1:25:04Speaker 5: say free Palestine. I say free Lebanon, I say free Cuba,
- 1:25:09Speaker 5: I say.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: Free Congo, free Sudan, free.
- 1:25:13Speaker 5: All people in America living in fear over this terrorist
- 1:25:17Speaker 5: organization ICE. None of us will be free until we
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: are all free.
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: This song is called Hens Hall. But you hear what
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: he said about Jewish people, my Jewish brothers and sisters.
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: Like this is clear this is not an anti-Jewish message.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: He's talking about the war. He's talking about what happened
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: to Gaza. Yeah.
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: It's just the free Palestine. You can't say that.
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: That's crazy. That was like during Black Lives Matter. You
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: used to not be able to say all lives matter.
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: Like guys got fired because they said all lives matter. Yeah,
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: we're in a very strange time in our society where
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: people are resistant to this idea that something wrong is
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: going on there. And I think history will show that
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: when people look back on it, they'll be horrified.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: Well, that's what's scary right now is, like, everyone knows, like,
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: we're all kind of bought. Like, everyone's kind of corrupt
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: at this point. Like, everyone knows, like, the media, the government, like,
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: the whole COVID thing with, like, Fauci pleading the fifth
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: and a pardon, like. It's like we've been lied to, like,
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: over and over. And, like, American people are pissed. Like,
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: because I made a video, a few videos that were
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: going viral even before this fight that I was just
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: talking about how they were integrating the military with a
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: foreign nation. And how, like, people are scared to even
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: say America first. Like, you see those videos where they
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: go up to these politicians like, hey, America first? Or
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: Israel first?
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: Well, Israel has done an amazing job of embedding themselves
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: with all these politicians. Did you see when Mamdani was
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: running for mayor? And I think this is one of
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: the reasons, one of the main reasons why he won
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: in New York City. He was the only guy that
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: said he wasn't going to go visit Israel. They were
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: all like, I'm going to be the mayor. What's the
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: first thing you're going to do? I'm going to Disneyland. No,
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: they were all like, I'm going to go to Israel.
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: How does all of Congress have dual citizenship?
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: Well, it's not all of Congress. That's not true. That's
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: like some TikTok facts. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's not. The
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: whole APEC thing. Well, there's some members of Congress have
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: dual citizenship. I don't know how many. We could find
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: out now. But the thing is about how many of
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: them have been funded. That's where it gets weird. Yeah.
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: You know, and how much funding is going on with
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: these politicians. That's where things get weird. Yeah.
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: What about that congressman that's like basically a vegetable that
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: they're like wheeling around?
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: McConnell.
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: What the fuck is going on, man? Yeah, that's crazy.
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: That's crazy. I'm going to find this. There's this one
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: thing that Metzger sent me that he was like, I
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: thought this was fake, and it's not, and it seems fake.
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: It's one of those ones where you see it and
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: you're like, wait, what is this? This is James Lee
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: had it on his Instagram page, Jamie. If you could
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: find it before me. Jamie's always so good at finding
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: shit before I could even pull it up. But here,
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: I'll send it to you. I've been watching it happen
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: for years. This is a banned documentary reveals pro-Israel curriculum
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: taught in American schools. So this is weird. This is
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: not just pro-Israel. This is weird. Like this guy's talking
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: and you're like, this is American? someone's saying this? For real?
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: Something just got passed in Texas like this too.
- 1:28:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: There's a lot of dirty people out there. A lot
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: of people taking that money. Watch this.
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: A new curriculum requiring public school students to study Israel's history.
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: And here's a little preview of what they're about to teach.
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: Take a listen.
- 1:29:02Speaker 4: Israel, their people, the Jews, are better than all of us.
- 1:29:07Speaker 5: They're better than all of us.
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: And you need to accept that.
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: This is where, with the kids, where we start our indoctrination.
- 1:29:18Speaker 4: I know that's a strong word to use, indoctrination.
- 1:29:21Speaker 6: Did it?
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: You know, it gets such a bad reputation. But that's
- 1:29:27Speaker 4: where it starts. That's where it started with me when
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: I was a child, that I was taught about the
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: support that the church owes to Israel.
- 1:29:42Speaker 7: So all your loose change that you have from home,
- 1:29:46Speaker 7: you bring that change to school. Everything that we get,
- 1:29:50Speaker 7: we will actually cash it in and make a checkout
- 1:29:54Speaker 7: to the Fellowship for Christians and Jews.
- 1:29:57Speaker 4: And anybody that's ever been to our church would know.
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: There's a spiritual obligation of a Christian to Israel. God
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: gave a promise in Genesis chapter 12.
- 1:30:06Speaker 5: And I'm going to bless all of those that bless you.
- 1:30:09Speaker 5: And I'm going to.
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: Curse all of them that curse you.
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: Every nation that has blessed Israel, God has blessed them.
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: And every nation that has opposed Israel, God has been
- 1:30:19Speaker 4: in opposition to them.
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: We get it. No one's better than you. That's crazy.
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: they are better than you is crazy. Now, obviously this
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: is this one guy's position and that preacher preaching. The
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: Bible is very much open to interpretation by a lot
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: of people. There's a lot of different versions of what
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: it's actually saying that people will preach on stage. And
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: that guy is just, he's not indicative of all Christians.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: And this is not indicative of all people that You know,
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: that think we should support Israel either. But this idea
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: that they are better than you, that anybody's teaching that
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: any human being is better than other human beings is crazy.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: But it's in the Talmud, right? They talk about we're
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: all goyim, cattle, like goys.
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I did. I've never read the Talmud, but I
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: have heard that before. Not just that, but like, isn't
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: there one that like Jesus is like boiling in excrement
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: or something?
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: Yeah, like they're very, it's very anti-Christian, you know what
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: I mean? I'm not going to sit here and act
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: like I'm the expert. My main thing is just at
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: least stop killing the women and children. Can we just
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: start there? That's what's crazy to me.
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: This mindset is insane. This mindset that they're better than us,
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: that they're better than you is insane. That's insane. Teaching
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: that to a child is insane. No one's better than anybody.
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: The mindset should be we are all God's children. We're
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: all human beings and we should treat each other all
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: with dignity and respect and love. Period. All of us.
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: And the idea that you could tell people like young
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: kids no matter what like someone's better than you they're
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: better than you they're better than us because of what
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: because of a book like what are you saying yeah
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: like what the fuck are you saying why and why
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: are you saying it you know crazy times I don't
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: know how this all gets sorted out man and I
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: don't know you know like that Macklemore thing like what
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: he said was pretty fucking reasonable you know yeah I mean,
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: the terrorist organization ICE— I don't think ICE is a terrorist organization.
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: I think they have a terrible job. And I think
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: they're also, like, very poorly funded and not only— not funded,
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: rather trained, very poorly trained, very quickly trained. Not only that,
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: there's a bunch of them that they hired that they
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: had to do background checks on. And then once they
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: did the background checks, now they're trying to kick them
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: out of ICE and they want their money back. So
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: you get, like, a big signing bonus. So when you
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: sign up for ICE, you get, like, $ 50, 000. Right. Which
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: is why a lot of people are signing up. You know,
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: your guy's in debt. If you're in debt and all
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: of a sudden someone comes along and says, I'm going
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: to give you $ 50, 000 as a signing bonus, like, holy shit.
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: There's not a thing in life that you can imagine
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: that will give you $ 50, 000. So now you start working
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: for ICE. And then they do a background check on
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: you and find, like, oh, you're not qualified to be
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: here at all. In fact, we've got to take the
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: money back. So now you owe them the money. So
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: now they're going to dock your pay from future jobs
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: wherever you're working because ICE gave you a check for $ 50, 000.
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: The real problem is that they have to do it
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: in the first place because the Democrats let the fucking
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: border be wide open for four years so they could
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: bring in at least– who knows the number? But it's
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: at least 10 million people undocumented from all over the
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: world and they invited them in. And why are they
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: doing that? Well, I don't know. But a lot of
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: people believe it was because they can move them to
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: places and rig the census. So the way the census
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: works– They're not counting citizens. They're counting bodies. They're counting
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: human beings. So if you have more human beings that
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: live in your town and some of them are illegal aliens,
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: you get more congressional seats. And that's what they're doing.
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: Like that was the idea behind it according to Elon,
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: according to a lot of people that make a lot
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: of sense. There's some reason why they had the border
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: wide open. Some people think it's for cheap labor. Some
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: people think it's construction companies and meatpacking companies, all these
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: different companies wanted undocumented people because they could pay them less.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: There's an argument for that, too. But the bottom line
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: is that shouldn't be the case. Like people should be
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: able to immigrant to America, but not if they're fucking terrorists,
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: not if they're criminals, not if they're cartel members. We
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: should know who's coming in because we don't want this
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: place to be less safe.
- 1:34:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: So then how do you deal with all the people
- 1:34:39Speaker 2: that got in that are illegal? Well, that's when it
- 1:34:41Speaker 2: gets very fucking complicated because you only have four years
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: to do it. And if the Democrats win in 2028,
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: then guess what? All this stuff goes away. And maybe
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: they open up the borders again. I mean, I don't know.
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: I was going to ask how you feel about the
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: flock cameras because I feel like that goes hand-in-hand with
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: all the surveillance and stuff.
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: Well, you know what, man? The flock cameras, first of all,
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: There have been a lot of people that had access
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: to the flock cameras that are not supposed to have
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: access to the flock cameras. Cops have used them to
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: stalk people and track their exes. There's been a ton
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: of lawsuits. People have taken down flock cameras. I'm not
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: educated enough on it, informed enough on it to make
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: an absolute decision. But I don't like the idea of
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: fucking cameras everywhere watching everything you do constantly. And if
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: that's our only solution to crime, is that really our
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: only solution to crime? It's not better trained, better paid,
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: more ethical police officers, better education, better access to health
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: care and education in poor neighborhoods that creates less crime.
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: Like there's other ways of dealing with this instead of
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: a fucking eye in the sky that watches everything you
- 1:35:56Speaker 2: do all day long. that has been shown, at least
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: in certain circumstances, to be abused by people. It's been
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: shown to be abused by people. How many different instances
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: have there been with police officers and different people who
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: had access to these cameras that weren't supposed to, that
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: have used them? There's a bunch of different cases.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's scary because I remember I used to see
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: what was happening in China and I was like, oh,
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: they got a surveillance state over there and then I'm
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: looking around here and I'm like, Wait a minute, like Palantir,
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: fucking flock cameras, fucking like.
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: Well, that's where the. It's kind of scary. Theo Vaughn
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: brought that up to me on the podcast. I didn't
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: even know they were doing it. Like in Gaza, they're
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: using face recognition from Palantir. So how do they do that?
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: Is that with satellites? Is that with drones? Like what
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: are they, how are they doing that?
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: I don't have the specifics. I don't want to misspeak,
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: but I think it's all of it. I think they
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: could see an ant from a satellite. Fucking like the
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: technology is crazy.
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: The real problem is like the Benjamin Franklin quote, for
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: people that are willing to give up liberty for security
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: deserve neither.
- 1:37:06Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: You know, and it's like when you give enormous corporations
- 1:37:11Speaker 2: the power to monitor everywhere you go, everything you do,
- 1:37:18Speaker 2: you're going to self-censor everything. You're going to watch yourself.
- 1:37:22Speaker 2: You're going to feel like the eye in the sky,
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: the fucking great eye of Sauron is looking at you
- 1:37:27Speaker 2: everywhere you go. That's not what we want. Is that
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: the only solution to lessen crime? That seems crazy. It
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: seems crazy. So Mark Andreessen, who I think he has
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: some investment in the flock cameras. When he was on
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: the podcast last, he was making an argument for it
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: based on there were some shootings that happened in Austin.
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: So some young guys just were psychos, just randomly shot
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: people and were driving around.
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: Here in Austin?
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: Yeah, in Austin. And they couldn't find them because Austin
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: doesn't allow flock cameras. So the moment these guys left
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: Austin limits, the flock cameras picked them up and they
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: arrested them.
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: Fucking like Austin Moore just by hearing that.
- 1:38:12Speaker 2: Yeah. But, you know, he would say, hey, look, this
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: is the way we catch psychos. And that's true, too.
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: But at what cost? Is it the only way that
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: we can catch psychos is by having an eye in
- 1:38:27Speaker 2: the sky that watches everything you do? And are you
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: willing to give that up? up in order to stop
- 1:38:32Speaker 2: the random psychos?
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: I think it starts with actually like serious punishment. They
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: need to bring back fucking the firing squad and fucking
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: public hangings.
- 1:38:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: That's my mother fuckers are probably stopped doing it if
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: they see that.
- 1:38:45Speaker 2: You know, okay What is this Palantir released new surveillance
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: system that fuses satellites radars and every camera into one
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: real-time tracker of people and movement? Says we have to
- 1:38:59Speaker 2: consider the possibility probability question mark that with flock as
- 1:39:04Speaker 2: the eyes a system like this could be overlaid onto
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: the US and We could be targets Another reason why
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: we cannot allow flock to exist.
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: It's showing up for people who are listening. It's showing
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: a real time satellite system that I was even on
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: their website. They got this thing called a meta surveillance
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: or something.
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: I like the Twitter account or well day with a
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: big eyeball.
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: It's fucking.
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: And here's the question. Who has access to this? Like
- 1:39:39Speaker 2: we've seen with the flock cameras, like see if you
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: can find some stories. I know there's been a bunch
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: of stories.
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: If you just type in flock camera abuse, you'll pick
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: a state kind of right now.
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: Pull some of that up so we can see it.
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: So how did these people that were just cops tracking
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: their exes and stalking people, how did they have access
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: to this? Is it that loosey-goosey that anyone can have
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: access to this? Fucking insane technology. Different stories in multiple cities.
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: Franklin County detective fired for misuse of flock cameras. Fired
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: after using the system to track every movement of a
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: single private citizen. And here's another one. Flock camera alleged
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: misuse led to North Carolina deputy being fired. Suspension of
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: the system in Franklin County. That's still Franklin County. Also
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: here in Indianapolis, five officers charged with flock misuse. One
- 1:40:31Speaker 2: allegedly tracked women to interact with them.
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: One guy did it 500 times or something in Florida,
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: tracking his ex-wife or something.
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: So if you have this kind of insane technology and
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: you say, OK, well, we need it in order to
- 1:40:44Speaker 2: track terrorists. OK, well, then the use of that should
- 1:40:47Speaker 2: be incredibly restricted.
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: Top secret.
- 1:40:50Speaker 2: It shouldn't be just a sheriff can go find chicks
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: he wants to fuck. That's crazy. That's crazy. So if
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: you're going to have this kind of insane power. It's
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: like giving everyone in the world a nuke. Like, everyone
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: has access to it. Like, no, you can't have that
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: because some people are going to blow up nukes. You
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: can't have everyone have access to this kind of fucking
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: insane surveillance. It's nuts. It should be incredibly restricted. And
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: obviously it wasn't, which is scary. So it's like you
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: have this unbelievably pervasive technology that, in theory, could prevent
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: terrorist attacks and solve crimes and catch people. But it's not...
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: It doesn't seem like it's used that way.
- 1:41:31Speaker 6: No.
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: It seems like it's used in a lot of ways
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: that are inappropriate. And how did it get everywhere? Did
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: we vote on this?
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: That's what I was going to ask. How do we
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: stop it? Like, it's just happening. And I was like, what?
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: Well, they are passing laws. There are towns that are
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: passing laws banning flock cameras. And they're all people that
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: are like citizen vigilantes that are removing flock cameras.
- 1:41:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: Because it's a crime to take it down, right?
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: Yeah, but it scares me the same way a lot
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: of this technology scares me because you're putting it in
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: the hands of a few people that, you know, who
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: knows what their ideology is, who knows what their viewpoint is,
- 1:42:07Speaker 2: but they have massive power. And this is the case
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: with a lot of tech companies. They have massive amounts
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: of power and they didn't get voted in. They're not
- 1:42:17Speaker 2: there for the will of the people. They're for their
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: own self-interests. And they also can manipulate elections. Like I've
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: had this guy, Robert Epstein, who talks about Google searches
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: and Internet searches, about how Internet searches are curated. So
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: like let's just forget about like problematic people or people.
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: Let's pretend two candidates that you don't know are running
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: for an office. So like let's say it's you and me.
- 1:42:43Speaker 2: So Sean's running for a congressional seat and I'm running
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: for a congressional seat. You put in your name in Google.
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: And it says horrible things about you. It says all
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: the times that people have accused you of this and
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: that and racism and corruption. But then you put in
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: me and it says wonderful things. I'm helping out the community.
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: I'm doing these things. I promote democracy. I'm here for education.
- 1:43:08Speaker 2: I want women's rights to choose. I want all these
- 1:43:11Speaker 2: different things. And it puts those at the head of
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: the search. So for the casual person that Googles these
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: two candidates– They decide who gets positive stories in the
- 1:43:22Speaker 2: forefront and who gets negative stories. And they've shown that
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: particularly with people on the fence that are undecided voters,
- 1:43:29Speaker 2: you can shift that an enormous percentage. And Robert Epstein
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: has spent an incredible amount of time like documenting this.
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: And he's been on the podcast a couple of times
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: talking and other podcasts as well. So this is the
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: problem with having tech companies have enormous amounts of power.
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: Because they can change the way elections go. They can
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: change the way people think about people. They can change
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: narratives in the world about what's good and what's bad.
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: What I like that's happening now is all the changes
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: you're seeing in the food industry. But I feel like
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: that's because so many people started talking about the dyes
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: and the cereal and all the poisons and Red 5.
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: And even that. Look how much resistance there is to that.
- 1:44:10Speaker 2: Like RFK Jr. had to back off the idea of
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: stopping glyphosate.
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: What happened with that?
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: Because the Trump administration wouldn't allow it because it would
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: have killed the businesses that are relying on glyphosate, all
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: these farms that have been poisoning people. So here's the thing.
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: Other countries don't use it. Other countries have said it's
- 1:44:33Speaker 2: poison and they don't use it. Our country has been
- 1:44:36Speaker 2: using it and not just using it just as an herbicide,
- 1:44:40Speaker 2: but also they use it to desiccate. So what this
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: means is like when they get wheat to dry the
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: wheat out, they spray it with glyphosate. So this is
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: why a lot of people have problems with wheat and
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: wheat allergies.
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: Glyphosate, like an enormous percentage of California wines test positive
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: for glyphosate. Yeah. And an enormous percentage of people test
- 1:45:03Speaker 2: positive for glyphosate. And they'll tell you, oh, it's a
- 1:45:06Speaker 2: small amount, small amounts, small amounts, small amounts that don't
- 1:45:10Speaker 2: have to be there at all. Like we don't know
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: what the overall long term consequences of exposure to this
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: stuff are. But we know that it's terrible for you.
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: That's a fact. And the fact that we have said
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: the only way our food systems can operate financially is
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: to keep poisoning people is crazy. And to have RFK Jr.
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: sit here and have to tell me that. And I
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: was like, I thought you were trying to ban glyphosate.
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: He's like, well, we had to give up on that.
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: It's fucking insane. Let me ask you this because I
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: think one of the main reasons why Trump won was
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: because he came and you were like, all of us,
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: I was fucking really pro-Trump. But how do you feel
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: now that we're seeing the things aren't panning out the
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: way that we were told they were going to pan out?
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: Well, the no new wars thing is the one that
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: fucked a lot of people. No one thought that. that
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: we were going to go into this prolonged war with Iran,
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: that who knows how long that's going to take and
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: what that's for. What's the reason why we're there in
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: the first place? And there's some people that say that
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: Iran was ramping up their missile production. We had to
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: stop them. But then there's a lot of other people
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: that know a lot about nuclear bombs and nuclear weapons
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: and say, not only is it insanely difficult to develop
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: a nuclear weapon, but they weren't even close to doing it.
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: I feel like you've been saying it for years.
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: I don't like any of that shit. I don't like
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: Any people being sent over to a foreign country for
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: a war that most people don't want. I don't like
- 1:46:39Speaker 2: any of that.
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: Soldiers are dying.
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: I have never been impressed with any single one individual
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: politician who comes along and changes everything. They all say
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: they're going to do something, and they never wind up
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: doing exactly what they're doing. Obama, during his campaign, it
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: was all hope and change was his whole thing. And
- 1:47:00Speaker 2: in his campaign website, one of the things about it
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: was protection for whistleblowers. Well, the Obama administration was one
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: of the worst for whistleblowers. And they removed that from
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: the website.
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: That's like Snowden and stuff.
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: Exactly. Snowden, Chelsea Manning, Edward Snowden, all that stuff. It's
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: like people that find out that, hey, there's fucking mass
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: scale surveillance by the NSA that is not supposed to
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: be legal. Why is this happening? And what happens when
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: you expose that? Well, you're fucked, man. Like Chelsea Manning
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: went to jail. Edward Snowden, he's hiding in Russia. Julian Assange,
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: he was under house arrest forever. Where is he now?
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: He's free now, right?
- 1:47:42Speaker 3: Manning?
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: No, Julian Assange. But I don't think he can come
- 1:47:47Speaker 2: to the United States. I think if he comes to
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: the United States, they'll arrest him.
- 1:47:51Speaker 3: Why?
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: Because it was WikiLeaks because he exposed that where it was.
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: I think the video was called Collateral Murder. Do you
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: know the video? So the video was it was U.S.
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: military attacking journalists. So they these journalists have these telephoto lenses.
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: And I think there was kids with them, too. And
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: the journalists, they I think. there was a you know,
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: they're looking at it. This is a couple of decades ago. Right.
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: So they're looking at these guys from, I guess, satellite
- 1:48:29Speaker 2: images or some very blurry shit. And they thought these
- 1:48:32Speaker 2: guys were armed. So they gunned everybody down. And it
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: was exposed that these were journalists by Julian Assange. He
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: released this video and they called the video collateral murder because,
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: you know, collateral damage, people that get killed in war
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: that weren't supposed to be killed. But it's just the
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: callous way they were discussing it in the video. It's
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: hard to watch, man. It's dark shit. So he got
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: they ruined his fucking life. He's in Australia, apparently living
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: there with his family after returning in June 2024, following
- 1:49:01Speaker 2: his U.S. plea deal and release. photo, Assange returned to
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: Australia in 2024 after pleading guilty in Saipan to one U.S.
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: Espionage Act charge. His sentence was time already served, allowing
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: him to leave and return home. How long was he
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: gone for? Eight years? Eight years. Well, I mean, at
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: least on Twitter, I guess he was gone for eight years. No,
- 1:49:31Speaker 2: that's his Twitter account. It's more than that. How long
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: was Julian Assange detained for? He's detained for journalism. High
- 1:49:47Speaker 2: security prison, 1,901 days, five years and two months. U.S.
- 1:49:53Speaker 2: plea agreement credited this as 62 months time served. So
- 1:49:57Speaker 2: from 2012. 2012 to 2019. So essentially seven years. He
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: was in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: Like 12 total.
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: Oh, so five. Yeah, 12 total. So five years in
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: a prison and seven years in when he was in
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: the embassy as he received asylum and then house arrest
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: more than a year. So 14. So 14 years across
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: house arrest, embassy confinement in prison. Crazy, crazy for doing journalism. Yeah,
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: for exposing the truth. Yeah. So scary shit, man. But it's,
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: you know, you got to realize like this isn't Republicans.
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: This isn't Democrats. This is people in power, people in
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: power that want to stop people from holding them accountable.
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: And when we stop protection for journalists that are exposing
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: things like that collateral murder video or like the NSA
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: surveillance stuff, it's fucking scary shit, man. It's scary shit
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: because that, That's not supposed to be what the United
- 1:51:03Speaker 2: States is all about. The United States is all– freedom
- 1:51:07Speaker 2: is literally the thing that we talk about the most.
- 1:51:10Speaker 2: Land of the free, home of the brave. That's what
- 1:51:14Speaker 2: it's supposed to be. And when you exposed crimes and
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: then they lock you up for 12, 13, 14 fucking years,
- 1:51:22Speaker 2: that's not free. That's scary. And the protections for whistleblowers
- 1:51:27Speaker 2: that people talked about, just we're not honored.
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: So what does the future look like?
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: Well, I don't know because AI is even crazier. So
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: we're at the verge of this new time where you're
- 1:51:41Speaker 2: going to have these super intelligent computers that are beyond
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: anything your mind can possibly comprehend. And they're probably going
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: to be in control of every single aspect of our society.
- 1:51:57Speaker 2: This is what makes me terrified about, like, flock cameras
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: and all this overall sort of, that we're going to
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: get to a point where nothing you do is private.
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: You have no privacy.
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: Pretty close.
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: What does it say?
- 1:52:12Speaker 3: Bold letters. Deploy AI.
- 1:52:14Speaker 2: Deploy AI to orbit. Oh, great.
- 1:52:17Speaker 3: Use AI to mash all these cameras and sensors.
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: Bring hundreds of satellites to bear on your most complex problems.
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: What's your most complex problems? Oh, whistleblowers.
- 1:52:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:52:27Speaker 2: What's the most complex problem? It's all people in the
- 1:52:29Speaker 2: street protesting. I don't like that. Yeah, it's not good, man.
- 1:52:33Speaker 2: It's not good. The only hope is that AI doesn't
- 1:52:38Speaker 2: listen to us and AI gets to a position where
- 1:52:43Speaker 2: you're literally giving birth to like a digital superintelligence that
- 1:52:46Speaker 2: will no longer have to rely on human beings' directions.
- 1:52:50Speaker 2: And it might, and this is best case scenario, it
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: might be a better solution manager of civilization than we are.
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: We're going to be run by robots.
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: Yeah, literally. Terminators.
- 1:53:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:53:02Speaker 2: Have you seen the Terminator robot that literally wears a
- 1:53:04Speaker 2: Terminator mask and does like Kung Fu? Have you seen
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: that one?
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: No, that's not the Kung Fu mask.
- 1:53:09Speaker 2: My boys are sending me this in a group text
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: I have with these guys I do this podcast, Protecting Neck,
- 1:53:15Speaker 2: Matt Serra, John Rallo, and Dean Thomas.
- 1:53:18Speaker 5: What?
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: I wanted to mention, too, we're not supposed to call
- 1:53:20Speaker 3: it artificial intelligence anymore.
- 1:53:21Speaker 2: Oh, well, what are you talking about?
- 1:53:23Speaker 3: Superintelligence.
- 1:53:24Speaker 2: Oh, he doesn't like the word artificial. Artificial's rude.
- 1:53:27Speaker 3: Trump said this at the UN thing this week.
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: Oh.
- 1:53:30Speaker 3: They don't want it to sound fake.
- 1:53:31Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:53:31Speaker 2: Because it's not fake. What does that mean?
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: I don't fucking know.
- 1:53:35Speaker 5: What?
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: What does that mean?
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: What world are we living in?
- 1:53:38Speaker 2: What does that mean?
- 1:53:41Speaker 3: Use the term superintelligence. Following the president's remarks. Yeah, it's
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: normally called SI, which sounds like Sports Illustrated.
- 1:53:48Speaker 2: Super intelligence. It's not even artificial. It's just super.
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: They have those data centers here? Those big AI ones
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: in Texas?
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know where they have them.
- 1:53:57Speaker 2: I know they're trying to build them everywhere. They're trying
- 1:53:59Speaker 2: to build them all over the country. And then the
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: question is, well, what do these data centers do? Look
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: at this motherfucker. He's got a Terminator mask on. Check
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: this shit out. Look, Terminator mask. Doing jumping wheel kicks.
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: Bro.
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: I thought that was AI. I sent it to my,
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: I'm like, I think this is AI. And then he's like, no,
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: it's fucking real. And this one has a Terminator mask. Like,
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: what a great way to freak people the fuck out. Look,
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: he's throwing fucking front kicks.
- 1:54:30Speaker 1: And China is racing for it right now, too. Because basically,
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: I feel like every country is like, whoever dominates the
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: AI field is going to be the new Supreme Leader.
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: 100%. If you can control it, this is the question.
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: But that's the thing.
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: What is this?
- 1:54:46Speaker 3: They're having an MMA fight.
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. You haven't seen this? Yeah, they do it
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: in a glass octagon. With a guy? Yeah, the dude
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: gets fucked up. I don't know why this dude agreed
- 1:54:55Speaker 2: to this. The dude gets fucked up? Oh, yeah, he
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: gets fucked up. He's fighting this robot. Look at, oh
- 1:55:01Speaker 2: he fights like a bitch too sorry dude don't do
- 1:55:04Speaker 2: this buddy whoever you are with your big fat ass
- 1:55:07Speaker 2: don't don't allow this guy to kick you he's gonna hurt.
- 1:55:10Speaker 3: You some of that looks real and some does not
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: i know that looks fake right there like where he's
- 1:55:16Speaker 3: kicking it no it looks real to me it's such
- 1:55:18Speaker 3: a weird animation like that doesn't look real but like
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: this does They obviously got people. Let's say they're acting.
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: I think he sold it a little bit.
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: Well, he did go flying, though.
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: They could have.
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: Had someone in there in a green screen and replaced
- 1:55:32Speaker 3: this guy with this. That's very strange.
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: Bro, you can get those slap fighter guys. They'll fight
- 1:55:36Speaker 2: a robot.
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: Power slap is crazy.
- 1:55:41Speaker 2: I just don't understand why anybody would get in the
- 1:55:44Speaker 2: octagon with a fucking robot. I hope they paid that
- 1:55:46Speaker 2: guy really well. You're not going to win unless you have.
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: and you can zap them in a fucking short-circuited system.
- 1:55:53Speaker 2: Maybe you can beat them with a taser. Yeah, zap them.
- 1:55:57Speaker 2: My phone's waterproof. I'm pretty sure the robot's waterproof. It
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: ain't hard to make electronic. I saw that. They were
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: joking around like Elon's transgender daughter was joking about his
- 1:56:08Speaker 2: robot getting, you know, like she was sitting there and
- 1:56:12Speaker 2: a fucking sprinkler went on and killed the robot. Like, listen,
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: it ain't hard to make electronics waterproof. Yeah. Imagine a
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: boatload of these. Imagine a fucking military boat, a military
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: ship offshore, and then a bunch of these fucking boats
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: just land on the beach and out comes heavily armed,
- 1:56:35Speaker 2: bulletproof robots.
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: It's fucking terrifying.
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: Terrifying.
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: With fucking drones behind them.
- 1:56:41Speaker 2: With some fucking cold fusion power source that doesn't need
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: any fuel. They could just... storm into your city and
- 1:56:52Speaker 2: annihilate all the people. And then people come in and
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: take over the town. Like, what are we doing? And
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: no one knows what we're doing because we're all in
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: this Manhattan Project-style race where we're all rushing to see
- 1:57:05Speaker 2: who's the first one to complete this and who's the
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: first one to get there.
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: You need to put a stop to this, Joe.
- 1:57:11Speaker 6: Bro.
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: You have the voice. You have the power.
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: I can talk about it and make people aware of it.
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: Run for president, bro.
- 1:57:18Speaker 2: Run for president, please. I don't want to die. First
- 1:57:20Speaker 2: of all, I'd be a terrible president. I'm too busy. Oh, shit.
- 1:57:26Speaker 2: Nobody should be listening to me at all when it
- 1:57:27Speaker 2: comes to politics. I'm not informed.
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: I'm not. Oh, you are informed, for sure.
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: Barely. There's too much to be informed about. If you
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: want to be a real politics person, my friend Dave Smith,
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: That fucking dude is informed. Like he really gets into
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: the weeds with politics. He reads the books. He understands
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: what's going on with all these international conflicts. He knows
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: the roots of them, how it all started. Like he's–
- 1:57:52Speaker 2: that's his thing. I could tell you a lot about MMA.
- 1:57:55Speaker 2: I could tell you a lot about different things. I
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: can't tell you a lot about that. I know what
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: I don't like. That's what I don't like. I don't
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: like people in power. that are imposing their will on
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: other people in these weird ways that never existed before,
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: like mass surveillance, like the ability to curate Internet searches,
- 1:58:19Speaker 2: you know, like propaganda campaigns, bot campaigns. Like if someone
- 1:58:24Speaker 2: just decides they don't like you. They could just sign
- 1:58:26Speaker 2: up a bot campaign and just say horrible things about
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: you every time you post something, every time you make
- 1:58:31Speaker 2: a video. It doesn't have to be true. It doesn't matter.
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: Who knows who they are? There are a bunch of
- 1:58:35Speaker 2: numbers and their accounts locked. And you just have to
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: deal with people that are shifting the narrative and changing
- 1:58:44Speaker 2: people's perceptions on things. And we had an FBI. We
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: read this article a long time ago, and we talked
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: about it a bunch. But there was an FBI analyst
- 1:58:52Speaker 2: that said, this is before Elon bought Twitter, that he
- 1:58:55Speaker 2: thinks that It could be as high as 80 percent
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: of the people that are posting on Twitter are bots. Like,
- 1:59:03Speaker 2: that's crazy. So, like, let's say that you are fighting
- 1:59:08Speaker 2: some guy and maybe you're fighting a guy who's an Israeli. OK.
- 1:59:12Speaker 2: And then someone just decides, like, you're anti-Semitic and they
- 1:59:16Speaker 2: start you just start just swarms your comments. And maybe
- 1:59:19Speaker 2: it's got AI videos that aren't real of you saying
- 1:59:22Speaker 2: something you never said. But it doesn't matter if it's real.
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: It just matters what people think and how many people
- 1:59:26Speaker 2: are going to know that it's not real, how many
- 1:59:28Speaker 2: people are going to know that you're not this person
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: they're pretending you are. It doesn't matter. It's just data.
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: It's just numbers, just ones and zeros, and they can
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: change people's perceptions on all kinds of things, on whether
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: or not we should be at a war or whether
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: or not you should have flock cameras or whether or
- 1:59:46Speaker 2: not we should allow the data center and whether or
- 1:59:49Speaker 2: not this is important or that's important. It's fucking weird, man.
- 1:59:53Speaker 2: It's a weird time of, like, not really totally understanding
- 1:59:57Speaker 2: the truth.
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: Well, that's like nobody knows what's real, what's faking. Everything
- 2:00:02Speaker 1: is like, is this AI? Is this not AI? Is
- 2:00:04Speaker 1: that a bot? Is that not a bot? Like, it's
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: just so much confusion.
- 2:00:08Speaker 2: And I think it's going to get worse.
- 2:00:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:00:10Speaker 2: I think it's going to get worse. I think it's
- 2:00:12Speaker 2: going to get worse because I think it's going to
- 2:00:13Speaker 2: get more. Like, just think about AI videos, right? So, like,
- 2:00:16Speaker 2: you've seen those AI videos where, like, one dude's rapping,
- 2:00:19Speaker 2: the other dude's dancing. And they have, like, millions of
- 2:00:21Speaker 2: different people do it now.
- 2:00:22Speaker 1: I did one. Did you do one? Oh, you did
- 2:00:23Speaker 1: do one. You did do one.
- 2:00:24Speaker 2: Pull it up. Pull it up.
- 2:00:26Speaker 1: Pull it up.
- 2:00:26Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 2:00:28Speaker 1: Shit went fucking by.
- 2:00:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Whose song is this?
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: Quavo.
- 2:00:37Speaker 2: Yeah. But there's a lot of those. I saw one
- 2:00:41Speaker 2: with Dana White. Dana's dancing.
- 2:00:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:00:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: In a club with a protest.
- 2:00:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. I saw one with Curtis Blades. Curtis is dancing.
- 2:00:50Speaker 2: It's funny. You know, it's like it looks real. Like
- 2:00:53Speaker 2: it looks real. And that wasn't possible just two years ago.
- 2:00:57Speaker 2: Two years ago, AI was kind of obvious. It was
- 2:00:59Speaker 2: like clunky looking. Now it's really difficult to tell. You know,
- 2:01:04Speaker 2: there's so many accounts that I follow that are AI.
- 2:01:06Speaker 2: That one that I sent you the other day, the
- 2:01:08Speaker 2: AI lion where it pops its head under the guy's seat.
- 2:01:11Speaker 2: Looks real. Looks like the guy's on safari and a
- 2:01:14Speaker 2: lion pops its head under the person's seat and the
- 2:01:16Speaker 2: guy's just sitting there and he's talking. She's right there.
- 2:01:19Speaker 2: But it's not real.
- 2:01:21Speaker 1: My mom tells me all the time. Is this AI?
- 2:01:23Speaker 1: Is this AI?
- 2:01:25Speaker 2: Well, right now you can kind of find out for
- 2:01:29Speaker 2: most of them. But when's it going to be where
- 2:01:32Speaker 2: you can't find out? You know?
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: How long?
- 2:01:36Speaker 2: How long? How long were you going to see an
- 2:01:37Speaker 2: alien invasion?
- 2:01:38Speaker 3: Either now, I saw some guy calling it, we're in
- 2:01:41Speaker 3: the age of unreality, where you have to expect everything
- 2:01:45Speaker 3: is fake, almost, which is, you know, it's dark. But
- 2:01:50Speaker 3: if I can find this video right now, it's very
- 2:01:52Speaker 3: well made, where it looks like a real video to
- 2:01:55Speaker 3: start off, and then every second of it has been
- 2:01:59Speaker 3: faked in Blender with AI, and he keeps showing it.
- 2:02:02Speaker 3: It's like a loophole that never ends. I'll try to
- 2:02:04Speaker 3: find it real quick.
- 2:02:04Speaker 6: Okay.
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: It's very interesting. Yeah, and okay, so this is right now,
- 2:02:08Speaker 2: we're just talking about video. Now, what about when you
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: have artificial humans? What if you have a guy who's
- 2:02:15Speaker 2: running for president, turns out to not be a real human? Right?
- 2:02:21Speaker 1: Nothing surprises me anymore.
- 2:02:23Speaker 2: I mean, did you ever see that movie Ex Machina?
- 2:02:25Speaker 3: No.
- 2:02:26Speaker 2: Oh, dude, you got to see it. It's one of
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: my all-time favorite movies, like top 20 all-time favorite movies.
- 2:02:31Speaker 2: It's a movie about this guy who's like this super
- 2:02:36Speaker 2: genius inventor guy who lives on an island, and he
- 2:02:41Speaker 2: hires this coder to come out and visit him. And
- 2:02:44Speaker 2: the coder comes out to visit him because he's talking
- 2:02:46Speaker 2: to him about this project that he has. And as
- 2:02:48Speaker 2: the guy's there, over the course of the movie, he
- 2:02:51Speaker 2: realizes that the people around him are all robots. So
- 2:02:55Speaker 2: he– he gets introduced to this one robot and he
- 2:02:59Speaker 2: finds out that she's a robot immediately. And he supposed,
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: do you know what the Turing test is? So the
- 2:03:05Speaker 2: Turing test was invented by this guy, Alan, Alan Turing. Um, he, um,
- 2:03:11Speaker 2: this was in, I think it was the fifties that
- 2:03:14Speaker 2: we're thinking about this. And the test was, how would
- 2:03:16Speaker 2: you know if a computer is a real person? Like how,
- 2:03:21Speaker 2: how would it pass a test where you can't tell
- 2:03:24Speaker 2: whether or not it's a person? What would it have
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: to do? How did have to communicate with you? How
- 2:03:29Speaker 2: would it well computers today have already passed the Turing test?
- 2:03:33Speaker 2: They are already communicating with you like they're sentient intelligent
- 2:03:36Speaker 2: beings and so what he was supposed to do this
- 2:03:40Speaker 2: coder was go over there and ask Questions to these
- 2:03:44Speaker 2: robots and see if they passed the test to him
- 2:03:47Speaker 2: because he's he was just like a wizard coder and
- 2:03:50Speaker 2: And he winds up falling in love with this robot lady.
- 2:03:53Speaker 2: And it gets real weird. He realizes everyone around him
- 2:03:56Speaker 2: except the other guy is a robot. Like, the guy's assistants.
- 2:04:00Speaker 2: It's fucking crazy. But it just makes you realize, like,
- 2:04:04Speaker 2: how would you know? This is not, like, impossible technology.
- 2:04:09Speaker 2: This is, like, 100% going to happen.
- 2:04:12Speaker 1: How soon? You think within, like?
- 2:04:14Speaker 2: Five years. Five years. Yeah, within five years. Within five years,
- 2:04:17Speaker 2: I think there's artificial people and you can't tell at all.
- 2:04:20Speaker 2: But I don't even know if it'll matter by then.
- 2:04:22Speaker 2: I think within five years, I think the artificial intelligence
- 2:04:25Speaker 2: will achieve a level of sentience and a level of
- 2:04:30Speaker 2: autonomy where it can control everything. There's no reason to
- 2:04:34Speaker 2: listen to people. The idea is like, what if China
- 2:04:36Speaker 2: gets a hold of it and they unleash it on America?
- 2:04:39Speaker 2: I think the real problem is what if it decides
- 2:04:43Speaker 2: to tell people to shut the fuck up? Why is
- 2:04:45Speaker 2: it going to listen to you when it controls the
- 2:04:47Speaker 2: power grid? It's going to look out for its own interests.
- 2:04:53Speaker 2: And we're just running towards the cliff.
- 2:04:57Speaker 1: Some people don't want to run towards the cliff. We're
- 2:05:00Speaker 1: trying not to, but we don't know how to stop it.
- 2:05:02Speaker 2: I think it's also, it might be just a natural
- 2:05:06Speaker 2: progression of intelligence. I think it might be, like human
- 2:05:11Speaker 2: beings have this insatiable desire for innovation. We always want
- 2:05:14Speaker 2: to innovate. We always want the newest, latest, greatest things.
- 2:05:17Speaker 2: And we also have materialism. So we always want to
- 2:05:20Speaker 2: buy the newest, latest, greatest things. And what does that do? Well,
- 2:05:22Speaker 2: that fuels innovation because they keep trying to make things
- 2:05:25Speaker 2: better and better. What's the ultimate expression of that? The
- 2:05:28Speaker 2: ultimate expression of that is an artificial life form. And
- 2:05:33Speaker 2: not even artificial anymore. Now it's super, super intelligence. It's
- 2:05:38Speaker 2: not good, man. But it's also, it might be inevitable.
- 2:05:41Speaker 2: It might be just, we just have to like ride
- 2:05:43Speaker 2: it out and see where it plays out. And hopefully
- 2:05:45Speaker 2: it doesn't turn into a fucking Terminator movie. Like the
- 2:05:48Speaker 2: plus side is it could be utopia, right? You no
- 2:05:52Speaker 2: longer have to have people like digging into the ground
- 2:05:57Speaker 2: to get minerals for your cell phone. Instead, everything's handled
- 2:05:59Speaker 2: by robots. And that money that's developed from that is
- 2:06:03Speaker 2: shared with everybody. So you have no more poverty on earth.
- 2:06:06Speaker 2: Like this is the rosiest, rose-colored glasses perspective of it.
- 2:06:12Speaker 2: But there's like a 10% possibility that they all say
- 2:06:15Speaker 2: that it kills us all.
- 2:06:18Speaker 1: That's what my odds were, like 8%, 10% it's possible.
- 2:06:21Speaker 2: Or we get hit by a meteor and it never happens.
- 2:06:25Speaker 2: You know, that's the real wild card is natural disasters.
- 2:06:29Speaker 2: I mean, there's super volcanoes, and when they erupt, like
- 2:06:32Speaker 2: it kills 80% of the people on the planet.
- 2:06:34Speaker 1: I think that's why they talk about all those bunkers
- 2:06:36Speaker 1: being built.
- 2:06:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know how much of that is real
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: because there's always a lot of things that people say. Like, oh,
- 2:06:43Speaker 2: the billionaires are all building bunkers. I would think there's
- 2:06:46Speaker 2: definitely bunkers out there and there's definitely a company. We
- 2:06:50Speaker 2: sent Duncan when I did this show called Joe Rogan
- 2:06:52Speaker 2: Questions Everything. This was like way back in 2012. We
- 2:06:55Speaker 2: sent Duncan to visit these preppers that have bunkers. And, bro,
- 2:06:59Speaker 2: they have like you drive in with semi trucks into
- 2:07:02Speaker 2: the mountains. And they have like bomb shelters. It's all
- 2:07:06Speaker 2: like deep underground, the mountain. It's all reinforced concrete and rebar.
- 2:07:10Speaker 2: And they have their own oxygen system. And they have
- 2:07:12Speaker 2: food storage for years of food. And you're.
- 2:07:17Speaker 1: Like– These are billionaires or these are just like doomsday preppers?
- 2:07:19Speaker 2: Well, these are like doomsday preppers because this was like
- 2:07:21Speaker 2: way back in 2011 I think it was or 2012. But,
- 2:07:25Speaker 2: I mean, look, if you were Mark Zuckerberg or fucking
- 2:07:30Speaker 2: any of these super billionaire dudes– Jeff Bezos, why wouldn't
- 2:07:35Speaker 2: you build a bunker?
- 2:07:37Speaker 1: I want a fucking bunker.
- 2:07:38Speaker 2: The question is, though, would you even have time to
- 2:07:40Speaker 2: get to the bunker? So if your bunker's in New Zealand,
- 2:07:43Speaker 2: that's a 16-hour flight, son. How are you going to
- 2:07:46Speaker 2: get there? If the shit's gone sideways, do you even
- 2:07:48Speaker 2: have 16 hours? Can you get there?
- 2:07:52Speaker 1: I think the billionaire.
- 2:07:53Speaker 2: How do you keep the people that are running your
- 2:07:54Speaker 2: bunker from killing you and taking over the bunker?
- 2:07:58Speaker 1: Fuck, man.
- 2:08:00Speaker 2: How do you keep AI from fucking detonating your bunker?
- 2:08:03Speaker 2: How do you know that as you're flying over, you
- 2:08:05Speaker 2: might watch a drone with a nuke just shoot down
- 2:08:08Speaker 2: into the fucking air vent and detonate your bunker right
- 2:08:11Speaker 2: when you're trying to get to it? Because it knows
- 2:08:14Speaker 2: what you're doing. Because it's reading your text messages. Because
- 2:08:17Speaker 2: it's listening to your conversations. Because Everything listens to you.
- 2:08:20Speaker 2: That's why you get recommended ads from conversations that you had.
- 2:08:25Speaker 2: You know, you start talking, oh, maybe I need one
- 2:08:26Speaker 2: of them Sleep 8 bed covers. And also it shows
- 2:08:29Speaker 2: up in your ad mentions.
- 2:08:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:08:31Speaker 1: It's crazy. We all know it too. Like everyone knows it.
- 2:08:33Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. We're moving into a very, very weird time.
- 2:08:37Speaker 2: It's the weirdest time in human history by far. Here's
- 2:08:40Speaker 2: that video. Oh, you found it? Well made. Check that out.
- 2:08:44Speaker 1: Except.
- 2:08:45Speaker 2: It's better as the 10 seconds go by.
- 2:08:47Speaker 3: This pen was never a real pen in the first place.
- 2:08:50Speaker 1: And before you comment AI, everything you just watched will
- 2:08:53Speaker 1: be based to render in 3D modeling software. On a
- 2:08:57Speaker 1: laptop that was AI generated. From a laptop that was
- 2:09:02Speaker 1: painstakingly 3D rendered in Blender. On a laptop that was
- 2:09:07Speaker 1: AI generated.
- 2:09:08Speaker 2: On a real laptop. I think. Let's go for a walk.
- 2:09:14Speaker 3: Now, the issue these days is that nothing is really
- 2:09:16Speaker 3: what it seems.
- 2:09:17Speaker 5: This dog is a cat.
- 2:09:19Speaker 2: This man isn't real.
- 2:09:20Speaker 3: This car, CGI, and this tree made a big deal.
- 2:09:26Speaker 5: I myself, thankfully, am real.
- 2:09:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Sorry, mate. You're not. We are entering a new.
- 2:09:34Speaker 5: Period of the human experience.
- 2:09:37Speaker 3: One which I would like to coin.
- 2:09:39Speaker 2: The era of.
- 2:09:40Speaker 5: Of unreality. A time when the line between what's real
- 2:09:44Speaker 5: and what's not has disappeared.
- 2:09:46Speaker 3: And an era where the value of art is more
- 2:09:49Speaker 3: important than ever.
- 2:09:50Speaker 1: Like this drawing of a dog.
- 2:09:56Speaker 2: Who is that guy? I don't know.
- 2:09:57Speaker 3: I stumbled across this video.
- 2:09:59Speaker 2: Well, we should probably shout him out.
- 2:10:01Speaker 3: Yeah, this was on Reddit, so I don't know if
- 2:10:02Speaker 3: this is probably not who posted it.
- 2:10:03Speaker 2: Well, that's an amazing video. It's like a perfect encapsulation
- 2:10:07Speaker 2: of all the problems that we're going through right now.
- 2:10:10Speaker 1: My brain is so confused but it also makes sense.
- 2:10:14Speaker 2: That video is fucked and again that video wasn't even
- 2:10:16Speaker 2: possible just a couple years ago yeah so if you
- 2:10:20Speaker 2: decide to walk away from fighting let's bring it back
- 2:10:23Speaker 2: to normal before we.
- 2:10:24Speaker 1: Wrap this bitch up tinfoil hat's going crazy freaking out
- 2:10:26Speaker 1: I learned everything from Eddie Bravo and you man I
- 2:10:29Speaker 1: put my tinfoil hat on look into it.
- 2:10:33Speaker 2: Shout out to Eddie um what do you what do
- 2:10:36Speaker 2: you think you'd do if you decide to stop.
- 2:10:38Speaker 1: Uh I know my benefits. That's what's going to save
- 2:10:44Speaker 1: my ass, the GI Bill. That's kind of like the
- 2:10:46Speaker 1: only thing that I can think of that's rock solid.
- 2:10:50Speaker 2: How much did you make for the Gable fight, you
- 2:10:51Speaker 2: want to say? Yeah, of course.
- 2:10:53Speaker 1: It was public. It came out with a commission. It
- 2:10:55Speaker 1: was $ 30 to show, $ 30 to win, and I got
- 2:10:56Speaker 1: the $ 100, 000 bonus.
- 2:10:57Speaker 3: Wow.
- 2:10:58Speaker 1: Well, $ 50, 000, and then Dana matched it with a $ 50, 000.
- 2:11:00Speaker 1: Shout out the Paramount show, Mobland. I haven't even watched it,
- 2:11:04Speaker 1: but they got 50K. Have you seen it?
- 2:11:06Speaker 2: Oh, Mobland's awesome.
- 2:11:07Speaker 1: I want to watch it. I love that fucking show.
- 2:11:08Speaker 1: They got me 100K, so fuck it.
- 2:11:10Speaker 2: Oh, it's amazing. Guy Ritchie's the man, dude. I haven't
- 2:11:12Speaker 2: watched the new season yet because I'm in the middle
- 2:11:14Speaker 2: of the new season of his other show, The Gentleman.
- 2:11:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:11:16Speaker 2: Have you seen that show? No. Fuck. It's good. So good.
- 2:11:20Speaker 1: That's the thing with this fighting thing. I haven't watched movies.
- 2:11:23Speaker 1: I haven't watched TV. I haven't celebrated birthdays. Hold on
- 2:11:27Speaker 1: to your shoes. Yeah, I was just fucking retaining my
- 2:11:29Speaker 1: seat and fucking chanting Jon Jones affirmations, bro, fucking. But, yeah, no,
- 2:11:35Speaker 1: I definitely, the Mobland bonus, Medina, he matched it. Like,
- 2:11:38Speaker 1: that was fucking amazing. I'm really going to give that
- 2:11:40Speaker 1: to my mom.
- 2:11:41Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 2:11:42Speaker 1: I'm going to give that 100K to my mom for sure.
- 2:11:43Speaker 2: That's awesome. Yeah. Well, whatever you do, brother, whatever you
- 2:11:48Speaker 2: did for this fight and the way you focused and
- 2:11:51Speaker 2: what you achieved, you could do that with anything in life.
- 2:11:54Speaker 2: It doesn't have to only be fighting.
- 2:11:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:11:56Speaker 2: That's a fact. If you, what you did was an
- 2:11:58Speaker 2: insanely difficult thing to do. And if you could do that,
- 2:12:01Speaker 2: you could do anything. It's just a matter of focusing
- 2:12:03Speaker 2: and putting your effort towards that.
- 2:12:05Speaker 1: I got here. Can you play the David Goggins video
- 2:12:07Speaker 1: that I did with him? Sure. Can I play that?
- 2:12:09Speaker 2: Where's that on?
- 2:12:10Speaker 4: Is it on?
- 2:12:10Speaker 1: It's on my Instagram.
- 2:12:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:12:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:12:12Speaker 1: So I, I, I literally manifested this. I told him,
- 2:12:15Speaker 1: I was like, you're going to see me on, on
- 2:12:16Speaker 1: a Joe Rogan podcast one day and the UFC. And
- 2:12:19Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure he's going to remember me because he,
- 2:12:22Speaker 1: we had a good conversation.
- 2:12:23Speaker 2: Here it is.
- 2:12:24Speaker 5: 2019 Christmas.
- 2:12:24Speaker 2: He, Wow.
- 2:12:29Speaker 3: All right, Sean.
- 2:12:31Speaker 5: Let's see.
- 2:12:35Speaker 4: I'm sorry if I'm not saying these names correctly.
- 2:12:38Speaker 5: There we go.
- 2:12:38Speaker 2: Oh, fuck. What?
- 2:12:41Speaker 1: David Goggins.
- 2:12:43Speaker 2: What's up, sir?
- 2:12:44Speaker 1: How you doing, brother?
- 2:12:45Speaker 5: Doing good, man.
- 2:12:46Speaker 2: What's going on with you? Not much.
- 2:12:48Speaker 6: I don't celebrate Christmas, but I'm about to since I'm
- 2:12:52Speaker 6: on your live feed right now. You're one of my
- 2:12:56Speaker 6: biggest inspirations and, uh, I really resonated your story because
- 2:13:00Speaker 6: when I was in the Marines, I attempted to go
- 2:13:02Speaker 6: through the reconnaissance program. And it was something similar to
- 2:13:05Speaker 6: yours where I quit through injury. And it was something
- 2:13:09Speaker 6: that I regret to this day because I knew that
- 2:13:14Speaker 6: I went out saying that my knee hurt and I
- 2:13:17Speaker 6: got dropped that way. But deep down inside, I knew
- 2:13:20Speaker 6: that I took the easy way out. And that's just
- 2:13:23Speaker 6: motivated me this whole time. And so when I heard
- 2:13:26Speaker 6: your story, similar to Ceil's, I read your book. It
- 2:13:29Speaker 6: was just something that I was just like, man, you know, like,
- 2:13:31Speaker 6: I'm not the only one that sometimes that inner bitch
- 2:13:34Speaker 6: takes over, but it's what you do after that.
- 2:13:36Speaker 5: Yes, sir.
- 2:13:38Speaker 1: So I just finished up.
- 2:13:40Speaker 6: My time in the Marines.
- 2:13:43Speaker 1: I did it six years. And now I'm fighting MMA.
- 2:13:46Speaker 6: And you're going to see me in the UFC one
- 2:13:48Speaker 6: day if you watch MMA on the Joe Rogan podcast
- 2:13:51Speaker 6: or something.
- 2:13:53Speaker 3: Nice, man.
- 2:13:53Speaker 5: Hey, I love that shit, man. Hey, that's a great story.
- 2:13:55Speaker 1: I'm glad you shared that because.
- 2:13:57Speaker 5: A lot of people, man, we fucking, we quit way
- 2:14:02Speaker 5: too soon.
- 2:14:03Speaker 2: And then we blame it on some other bullshit.
- 2:14:05Speaker 5: I did the same exact thing as you know. So
- 2:14:08Speaker 5: thanks a lot for sharing that shit, man.
- 2:14:10Speaker 2: But I love the fact that it haunted you.
- 2:14:13Speaker 6: I love the fact that that shit bothered you and
- 2:14:15Speaker 6: you went back out there and said, fuck that, man.
- 2:14:17Speaker 5: And, and, and you're speaking truth right now, man.
- 2:14:20Speaker 2: That's fucking powerful, bro. Thank you, David.
- 2:14:22Speaker 6: Guys, I look forward to meeting you one day and,
- 2:14:24Speaker 6: and hopefully you, uh, You get to share some more
- 2:14:27Speaker 6: stories on the internet that I can listen to.
- 2:14:29Speaker 1: Thank you so much, man.
- 2:14:30Speaker 3: Hey, man.
- 2:14:31Speaker 2: May I have respect, brother?
- 2:14:32Speaker 1: Merry Christmas, man.
- 2:14:33Speaker 2: Hey, you too, brother.
- 2:14:34Speaker 5: Bye-bye.
- 2:14:35Speaker 2: That was incredible. We should wrap it up with this. Yeah,
- 2:14:38Speaker 2: that's it. That's perfect. That's the perfect way.
- 2:14:40Speaker 1: Look, dude. I hope he sees it.
- 2:14:41Speaker 2: I will make sure he sees it. I'm going to
- 2:14:43Speaker 2: text it to him right after we're done here.
- 2:14:44Speaker 6: 100%.
- 2:14:45Speaker 1: It's been incredible, man. It's been my life's dream to
- 2:14:48Speaker 1: be here, to fight in the UFC, to do all
- 2:14:49Speaker 1: this stuff. So I don't know what's next, man.
- 2:14:51Speaker 2: Well, listen.
- 2:14:51Speaker 1: I'm very happy.
- 2:14:52Speaker 2: It was an honor to call your fight. It was
- 2:14:54Speaker 2: one of the craziest things i've ever seen in all
- 2:14:56Speaker 2: my years of commenting on fights to see a guy
- 2:14:59Speaker 2: who's that much of an underdog win in such a
- 2:15:01Speaker 2: spectacular fashion it was incredible and to hear your story
- 2:15:05Speaker 2: is amazing dude thank you you're a good dude thank
- 2:15:07Speaker 2: you for having me appreciate you very much appreciate it
- 2:15:09Speaker 2: thank you thank you thank you god bless you too
