- 0:28Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:30coop. So today we're talking about
- 0:33changing your mind and really being OK with the fact that you
- 0:38can change your mind. I have had multiple people
- 0:41recently say, well, I made that decision and I don't feel that
- 0:45that decision was the best decision I could have made and I
- 0:47I I. But I feel like I have to stick
- 0:49with it. And I OK, explain to me what the
- 0:52reason is. You feel like you have to stick
- 0:54with it. Well, I made the decision.
- 0:56I understand that. You made the decision.
- 0:57Did you make the decision with all the information you
- 0:59currently have? No, not really.
- 1:01I'm. I mean, I've got more
- 1:03information now. OK, So if you have more
- 1:05information now then you did then, and you made a decision
- 1:07based on facts that were not completely present, what's the
- 1:10reason you're hanging on to the decision?
- 1:13Well I feel like I have to be a person that sticks to my
- 1:16decisions. Yes.
- 1:17But if you made the decision and it was a decision that didn't
- 1:20give you all of that now you have to re evaluate and then
- 1:24they stand there stumped because well, I just don't know if
- 1:29that's OK. So this today, this is this is
- 1:33what this is about. It's about are you OK changing
- 1:36your mind. Do you allow yourself to change
- 1:38your mind without beating the crap out of yourself for it and
- 1:43looking truly at did I make the best decision for who I was at
- 1:47that moment in time? Probably, maybe not.
- 1:51Maybe it was a terrible decision and you're willing to change it
- 1:54based on the fact that it was terrible.
- 1:55But these are more of the ones that are tend to be subtle
- 1:59because you you did them when you thought you were making the
- 2:03right decision. You did you made the choice when
- 2:05you thought you were clear headed.
- 2:07But emotions are tricky and they help us navigate ourselves.
- 2:11As we've talked about many times.
- 2:13We are all, we are spiritual beings having an emotional
- 2:16experience here, a physical experience here, and we use our
- 2:20emotions as a navigation system and the emotions are not always
- 2:25clear. So if I it's why I always say
- 2:28when emotions go up intelligence goes down and we're constantly
- 2:32having to come back to a place where our emotions are put aside
- 2:35so that we can make an intelligent decision and trying
- 2:40to not just be emotionally driven all the time but but but
- 2:46but but but there's a big but here you are allowed to change
- 2:49your mind. You are allowed to change your
- 2:50mind. You can still be decisive, You
- 2:53can still make quick decisions, You can still do all the
- 2:57wonderful things in the process that everyone tells us highly
- 3:00successful people do because you're allowed to change your
- 3:04mind. You're allowed to say, I now
- 3:06have more information and I want to recalibrate the direction I'm
- 3:09going in. I'm going to look at this
- 3:11differently and I'm going to move forward on a new course.
- 3:15The most important part of this is not beating yourself up for
- 3:19it. When you discover that there's
- 3:21something that you want to shift, change, outline, you know
- 3:25a new direction, you've got to give yourself that permission.
- 3:29Consciously saying it's OK, I'm changing my mind.
- 3:33There are things on this farm that I change my mind on all the
- 3:36time, How I've set things up, what I'm planting, where I want
- 3:40to put new things out here on the farm.
- 3:42It is a constant evolution based on facts that come up.
- 3:46I placed the Flower garden in the spot two years ago and the
- 3:51flower Garden was it two years ago?
- 3:53Is this my second year with it? Can't remember if it was a year
- 3:55or two years, but it's in a spot where it it just fundamentally
- 4:00does not allow the flowers to get to the best version of
- 4:03themselves. I know that now.
- 4:06I made a decision based on what I thought was going to be
- 4:10accurate, but it wasn't. And so now I'm going to change
- 4:14it. I'm going to shift it.
- 4:15I'm going to move it somewhere else.
- 4:17Now, does that mean I'm going to do it right this moment?
- 4:20I don't know. It depends.
- 4:21I've got to go through this, getting trees cut down, making a
- 4:24different spot, clearing out stuff so that the oaks can grow.
- 4:28There are so many little factors in this whole thing.
- 4:31But I allow myself now not to beat myself up about saying,
- 4:34well, you trucked in all that great dirt for all that and now
- 4:38it's just going to sit there and be in the shape.
- 4:40No it's not. I'm actually going to put shade
- 4:44parts, sun part, shade flowers in there.
- 4:46I can change my mind, I can shift my decisions, I can put
- 4:51things in a different perspective when I stop and
- 4:55pause about them. However, facts are facts.
- 5:00I can't grow 100% sun loving flowers in the shade.
- 5:04So I have to do something about it, change my mind.
- 5:07I can also do that with clients that I work with.
- 5:11If if I'm not a good match with a client, I can say, hey,
- 5:13listen, I gave it a shot. I don't think we're a good
- 5:16match. I think we should move on.
- 5:17I think I can recommend someone better to you, and I do that
- 5:21because it's what's right for me and it's right for them.
- 5:24Anything in your world, you are allowed to change your mind, as
- 5:29long as you do it from a place that is much more thoughtful,
- 5:33where you pause and you get yourself back into a place of
- 5:36being thoughtful. OK, my friends, I hope you have
- 5:39a blessed day changing your mind and I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:43Bye.
