Teen Murder Case Takes New Turn | Lexington News
A tragic shooting in Lexington, Kentucky, claimed the life of 16-year-old Michael Stinnett in May 2023. The suspect, 19-year-old Stewart Watson, initially charged with murder and robbery, has since pleaded guilty to manslaughter after prosecutors dropped the murder charge. Both sides agree on a 10-year sentence. The incident occurred near the Berry Hill Skate Park, where Watson allegedly demanded to see Stinnett’s gun, then pulled his own weapon and fired — prompting Stinnett to return fire before dying.
