- 0:13Speaker 1: This is the Patriots Catch twenty two podcasts with Evan
- 0:17Speaker 1: Lazar and Alex Barth.
- 0:20Speaker 2: And Lazarre.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Hello, everybody nailed it, joined us Always buy our bark.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Here is Evan Lazar and Alex Barr The only coach
- 0:31Speaker 1: you can get away with that technique. There's one coach.
- 0:33Speaker 1: The answers, but that way p one question it love it,
- 0:40Speaker 1: that was good. That was good.
- 0:42Speaker 3: That made me feel good.
- 0:43Speaker 1: That was a good.
- 0:45Speaker 3: That was my favorite SoundBite to come from the owner's meetings.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure it was favorite sound bite. Nothing, nothing,
- 0:51Speaker 1: but the coach that coaches, you're the team you cover said, certainly.
- 0:56Speaker 3: There's very well had a good You had a good presser.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I talked about building a tough, physical football team, didn't
- 1:03Speaker 1: he Not only that, nobody talked I'd rather hear about
- 1:06Speaker 1: that than ep a Ian. Rather hear about how you're
- 1:09Speaker 1: gonna win football games. And as long as the math lines.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Up, how you're gonna win football games is by building
- 1:15Speaker 3: a good passing game. That's how that's the point that
- 1:17Speaker 3: he was making.
- 1:18Speaker 1: By building good football team. Good passing game equals wins,
- 1:22Speaker 1: and good football team equals wins.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I don't understand that they're they're the same thing.
- 1:27Speaker 1: There's I believe it or not, there's more to football
- 1:31Speaker 1: than just throwing the ball. Yes, there is, for balance purposes. Sure, sure,
- 1:36Speaker 1: there's more to football than throwing the ball. All right,
- 1:38Speaker 1: I promise you watch a football game sometime. You'll be surprised.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Oh wow, Okay, that's where you're going. Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah, Evan,
- 1:46Speaker 3: watch a football game that never happens. All right, Hello, everybody,
- 1:53Speaker 3: Evan Lazar, Alex Bars Patriots Catch twenty two. Two weeks
- 1:56Speaker 3: Alex two weeks to go until the NFL Draft. Two
- 2:00Speaker 3: weeks in a day. But I'm gonna call it two weeks.
- 2:02Speaker 3: I'm gonna round down and call it two weeks. Look,
- 2:05Speaker 3: the hay is not quite in the barn for me personally,
- 2:08Speaker 3: but it's getting there. We're we're we're getting to hayes
- 2:11Speaker 3: in the barn status, Like we got a few more
- 2:13Speaker 3: was it biales?
- 2:14Speaker 1: Right?
- 2:14Speaker 3: Bales of hay to go? Yeah, but we're very very close.
- 2:18Speaker 1: And now is how many players? Would you say you're
- 2:20Speaker 1: up to?
- 2:22Speaker 3: Probably about one thirty?
- 2:24Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I'm probably not range.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm trying to get to one fifty this year.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Usually I get to around between one twenty five and
- 2:30Speaker 3: one fifty. But this year, I'm trying to get to
- 2:34Speaker 3: that one fifty more because they have those two fifths
- 2:36Speaker 3: and you just, you know, you kind of want to
- 2:37Speaker 3: know a little bit more about early day three in
- 2:40Speaker 3: a year like this. But we're getting to the point
- 2:44Speaker 3: now where the intel's changing daily. It almost feels like, right,
- 2:51Speaker 3: you know, last week it was a lock that, uh,
- 2:54Speaker 3: the Cleveland Browns are gonna take Abdual Carter at number two.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Now it's a lock that Travis Hunters is going to
- 3:00Speaker 3: go to to the Browns. It feels like we're in
- 3:02Speaker 3: that part of the off season, which I think is
- 3:05Speaker 3: interesting because now is the time where the scouting staffs,
- 3:11Speaker 3: the coaching staffs, the heads of department, if you will.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Now they have their final draft meetings, and really, up
- 3:18Speaker 3: until this point, the board hasn't been set yet truly,
- 3:22Speaker 3: and I know people find that hard to believe, but
- 3:24Speaker 3: the board outside of maybe Tennessee, who might know exactly
- 3:28Speaker 3: who they're taking because they're taking somebody first. Overall, it
- 3:33Speaker 3: takes a minute to set the board in terms of
- 3:35Speaker 3: all these visits and workouts and all that kind of stuff.
- 3:37Speaker 3: So we're in the next week or so, I would
- 3:40Speaker 3: say in set the board territory now for NFL teams,
- 3:44Speaker 3: and when that happens, you often start to hear some
- 3:47Speaker 3: trickling out of more information that might be more accurate.
- 3:51Speaker 3: I think it was two drafts ago, maybe it was
- 3:53Speaker 3: last year's draft that Bill Belichick's is.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Last year on McAfee. I was going to bring this
- 3:57Speaker 1: up last year on McAfee, Bill Belichick said, the accurate
- 4:01Speaker 1: information from teams doesn't really start leaking out until about
- 4:05Speaker 1: twelve hours before the draft. Yeah, and I remember looking
- 4:08Speaker 1: at it last year. Remember it was JJ McCarthy to
- 4:10Speaker 1: Patriots JJJJJJ. By the way, JJ McCarthy's agent I hopefully
- 4:15Speaker 1: got a raise after last year. But it was about
- 4:19Speaker 1: ten hours out last year that we started getting those
- 4:22Speaker 1: reports that, Hey, it's Drake may yeh, it's gonna be
- 4:24Speaker 1: Drake may So. Because, like you said, the scouts have
- 4:28Speaker 1: been doing their thing, the coaches have been doing their thing.
- 4:30Speaker 1: This is where they all come together. These next two
- 4:32Speaker 1: weeks two and a half weeks. We call this time
- 4:35Speaker 1: of your silly season. This is the silliest time of
- 4:38Speaker 1: silly season because and I love and hate this part
- 4:42Speaker 1: of the draft process. This is the most like exhausting
- 4:45Speaker 1: part in a good way, in a bad way. As
- 4:47Speaker 1: we go on early, right, you have the Senior Bowl,
- 4:50Speaker 1: the Shrine Bowl, you have the Combine, you have Pro Days,
- 4:53Speaker 1: you have free agency, Like we're getting all this new
- 4:55Speaker 1: information and there's changing takes and it's all evolving because
- 5:00Speaker 1: there's new things you have to consider that you have
- 5:02Speaker 1: to involve. At this point, I don't know when the
- 5:05Speaker 1: deadline is for thirties. I think it's the end of
- 5:07Speaker 1: this week, so there's still mighty it's next week, it's
- 5:09Speaker 1: next week. Yeah, but most teams have them done, Like
- 5:11Speaker 1: there's still gonna be some thirties trickling in. But outside
- 5:14Speaker 1: of that, for the teams, the hey is in the
- 5:17Speaker 1: barn like they're done. So we're not really gonna get
- 5:21Speaker 1: any unless it gets confirmed who the Browns are gonna take,
- 5:23Speaker 1: which won't happen until twelve hours for the draft. We're
- 5:28Speaker 1: not gonna get externally any new information here in these
- 5:32Speaker 1: next two weeks. So now it's just the same thoughts
- 5:36Speaker 1: churning through your head over and over. But it's two weeks.
- 5:38Speaker 1: We need stuff to talk about, and now's when the
- 5:40Speaker 1: real ridiculous stuff starts to come out.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Yeah, one hundred percent. And this is a part of
- 5:44Speaker 3: the draft where I hate this part. Honestly, this is
- 5:48Speaker 3: my least favorite part because you just start to hear
- 5:51Speaker 3: a lot of silliness. You also start to have people
- 5:53Speaker 3: that and I'm guilty of this too, that are just
- 5:56Speaker 3: so dug in on their take and there's so take
- 6:00Speaker 3: ordered well to put certain players. Right now, you're just
- 6:02Speaker 3: at the point where it's almost argumentative because it's you
- 6:06Speaker 3: just have your guys, I have my guys, and we're
- 6:08Speaker 3: just not gonna be well, they're not gonna find a
- 6:10Speaker 3: common ground.
- 6:10Speaker 1: It's the same arguments over and over because again there
- 6:13Speaker 1: is no new information. But so you get some people
- 6:15Speaker 1: who are so dug in. You also get some people who, uh,
- 6:19Speaker 1: you know, want something new to talk about. So now
- 6:22Speaker 1: we're just pulling these random what if ashion. Genty goes
- 6:24Speaker 1: to Evan with the brown stick ash and genty.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Second, I haven't even heard that.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I just hear I haven't either, But I bet you
- 6:31Speaker 1: in the next two weeks we're gonna hear somebody bring
- 6:32Speaker 1: up what if, Like what if the not necessarily as
- 6:35Speaker 1: a report, but again because we have this time to
- 6:38Speaker 1: fill and there's nothing new, so we're gonna create something new.
- 6:42Speaker 1: What if fashion genty goes second?
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I've heard, you know for the Patriots. You know,
- 6:46Speaker 3: we've seen some mock drafts recently, Jalen Walker as I
- 6:49Speaker 3: picked up a little bit of steam. You know, obviously
- 6:53Speaker 3: all the trade down scenarios and stuff like that have
- 6:55Speaker 3: been popular. So you hear a lot of that kind
- 6:57Speaker 3: of stuff. And we're gonna get into some of the
- 6:59Speaker 3: new use for the Patriots with the draft or the
- 7:02Speaker 3: Patriots adjacent news at least as well here in a second.
- 7:05Speaker 3: And then we're also gonna do My Guys starting today.
- 7:08Speaker 3: So My Guys is a fun segment we like to
- 7:11Speaker 3: do if you're not familiar. Basically, these are just the
- 7:14Speaker 3: guys at Alex and I independently will stand on the
- 7:18Speaker 3: table for right. We're pounding the table for these guys.
- 7:20Speaker 3: We're planting our flags like these are our guys. We're
- 7:23Speaker 3: gonna do offense today, so we'll go every position, quarterback, receiver,
- 7:26Speaker 3: running back, tight end, offensive line. Actually I did guard
- 7:30Speaker 3: and were doing into your end tackles right with the
- 7:33Speaker 3: offensive line, and we just do an offensive line doesn't matter.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I can split it up.
- 7:36Speaker 3: We'll get into all the my guys for the offense.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Next week we'll do defense, and the following week we'll
- 7:41Speaker 3: just kind of do a general preview slash, you know,
- 7:44Speaker 3: rap show on the pre draft process.
- 7:46Speaker 1: If you will.
- 7:47Speaker 3: So that's the agenda for today. We'll obviously take all
- 7:49Speaker 3: your calls and emails as well.
- 7:52Speaker 1: It's at.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Podcasts I always Forget What It is now podcast at
- 7:58Speaker 3: Patriots dot com. And obviously the Patriots Catch twenty two Hotline,
- 8:02Speaker 3: not the Unfiltered Hotline because that's a different show. So
- 8:05Speaker 3: the eighty five to five pass five hundreds of phone number.
- 8:07Speaker 3: We see you guys lining up on the phones already.
- 8:10Speaker 3: But hey, Patriots fans, if you want to see Toyota's
- 8:12Speaker 3: best offers, including those not seen on TV, go to
- 8:15Speaker 3: buy at toyota dot com. It's Toyota's official website for
- 8:18Speaker 3: deals for the official vehicle of the New England Patriots, Toyota.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Let's go places and want to host a winning Easter brunch?
- 8:26Speaker 3: Team up with Bob's Discount Furniture. Spruce up your space
- 8:29Speaker 3: for guests and no time with Bob's latest selection of
- 8:33Speaker 3: trendy accent furniture. And wall decor, high quality indoor and
- 8:37Speaker 3: outdoor rugs, and space saving storage aka somewhere to hide
- 8:41Speaker 3: those Easter eggs. So stop in and stock up for
- 8:44Speaker 3: Spring and beyond at Bob's Discount Furniture, the official furniture
- 8:47Speaker 3: store of the New England Patriots. I'm probably gonna regret
- 8:50Speaker 3: saying this, but having two Jewish people read an Easter
- 8:53Speaker 3: promo is kind of ironic. Anyways, the big thing I
- 8:58Speaker 3: wanted to start with today is that there's some rumblings
- 9:02Speaker 3: and again, this is silly season. This is we start
- 9:05Speaker 3: to get, uh, you know, a little bit tired whatever
- 9:08Speaker 3: of all the draft talk. But I think Abdul Carter
- 9:10Speaker 3: is starting to become a little bit of a hot
- 9:13Speaker 3: button topic of you know, could Abdul Carter be the
- 9:16Speaker 3: one that falls to four. I think we've talked a
- 9:18Speaker 3: lot about Travis Hunter falling to four, but after his
- 9:22Speaker 3: pro day and and after some of the news that
- 9:24Speaker 3: trickled out from Cleveland's side following Travis Hunter's pro day,
- 9:29Speaker 3: I think they're their GM fight out said like, can
- 9:33Speaker 3: I draft both? In terms of shador in Travis Hunter, So.
- 9:36Speaker 1: There's obviously Ken if he wants come up to four.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Yeah, there's obviously an infatuation with with Travis Hunter across
- 9:44Speaker 3: the league, which is not surprising, but with Abdul Carter specifically, Uh,
- 9:49Speaker 3: if he's there at four, I think there's an interesting
- 9:51Speaker 3: discussion that comes to that one. It's another defensive player
- 9:54Speaker 3: on that side of the ball. But what I continued
- 9:58Speaker 3: to say is that it is a player that is
- 10:02Speaker 3: so far above the rest of the pack that you
- 10:06Speaker 3: have to take talent where the talent is right. And
- 10:08Speaker 3: I would not sweat it one bit to sit at
- 10:12Speaker 3: four and have Abdul Carter fall in their laps, But
- 10:15Speaker 3: I do want to talk about some of the things
- 10:17Speaker 3: with the abdual Carter that might be causing him to fall.
- 10:19Speaker 3: But what are just your general impressions right now of
- 10:22Speaker 3: all this chatter surrounding Abdul Carter?
- 10:24Speaker 1: So I don't know. Maybe I'm in the minority here
- 10:26Speaker 1: because there's been a lot of reporting that the Browns
- 10:29Speaker 1: were there for Travis Hunter. But and I get they
- 10:32Speaker 1: sent a big group. I understand that, and Travis Hunter's
- 10:35Speaker 1: a great player. Is the owner really traveling for a
- 10:38Speaker 1: wide receiver? Is the owner traveling to see a wide receiver.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Like now he did go to Penn State.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Okay, so, but just the whole party is reminiscent to
- 10:47Speaker 1: me of what the Patriots sent to LSU and two
- 10:50Speaker 1: UNC last year. I'm like, this is what teams generally
- 10:54Speaker 1: send for quarterbacks. So maybe that means that they're going
- 10:58Speaker 1: to try to move up and get Sanders in, like
- 11:00Speaker 1: the teens move up from the second round and get
- 11:02Speaker 1: Sanders in the teens. And they are going to take
- 11:04Speaker 1: Hunter at two, and they do want to pair them up.
- 11:06Speaker 1: But I still think if Sanders goes too, this is
- 11:10Speaker 1: the part I feel stronger about my conviction. I'm not
- 11:12Speaker 1: necessarily one hundred percent sold on the Browns doing anything
- 11:14Speaker 1: right now. I do feel like if it is Sanders
- 11:19Speaker 1: at two, which is admittedly a big if, if it
- 11:22Speaker 1: is Sanders a two, Travis Hunter is gonna go three. Yeah.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I do think that's the path too.
- 11:28Speaker 3: It happening, yeah, yeah, And I feel like that's that's
- 11:31Speaker 3: where I'm at. I'm trying to think about this realistically.
- 11:34Speaker 3: You know, if the draft is Ward Sanders Hunter, then
- 11:38Speaker 3: I think that's probably now the most realistic way this goes.
- 11:42Speaker 3: That one of those two guys falls to the Patriots.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Hunter Carter falls to the Patriots is if the draft
- 11:46Speaker 3: goes Ward Sanders one and two. I don't think if
- 11:51Speaker 3: the draft goes Ward Hunter, that the Giants are going
- 11:55Speaker 3: to pass over Abdul Carter. So the Giants were then
- 11:57Speaker 3: I would believe would would draft Carter. So he's not
- 12:01Speaker 3: on the board for you anyways. The one thing that
- 12:03Speaker 3: I wanted to talk about it I always want to
- 12:05Speaker 3: be careful with this kind of stuff, obviously, but it's
- 12:09Speaker 3: not my reporting, it's just what's out there about Abdul Carter.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Bob McGinn does a great job every single year of
- 12:16Speaker 3: really digging up the true feelings of the NFL on
- 12:19Speaker 3: each problem.
- 12:19Speaker 1: He is the draft boogeyman. You don't want to see
- 12:22Speaker 1: Bob mcgainn writing about a player, do you like?
- 12:24Speaker 3: Yeah, So he comes out every single year, position by
- 12:27Speaker 3: a position, and he's got scouts on the record anonymously
- 12:32Speaker 3: talking about these players.
- 12:33Speaker 1: And he was the one for Reference last year. Remember
- 12:36Speaker 1: like a week before the draft and we were big
- 12:38Speaker 1: Ady Mitchell guys that put out there that Ady Mitchell
- 12:41Speaker 1: was going to fall because teams didn't like the way
- 12:43Speaker 1: he managed his diet his diabetes. Right, Is that what
- 12:46Speaker 1: it was? And I so Adie Mitchell then falls on
- 12:49Speaker 1: draft night way beyond where anybody thought. I don't think
- 12:53Speaker 1: it was ever confirmed that that's why. But like you
- 12:54Speaker 1: tie those two together, it's like, Okay, here's a guy
- 12:56Speaker 1: a week before, two weeks before that said he was
- 12:58Speaker 1: going to have the significant fall and then he had
- 13:00Speaker 1: a significant fault. Yeah, So I don't think we're we're
- 13:03Speaker 1: quite with the things that McGain is reporting or is sourcing.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I don't think we're quite in Jailen Carter territory where
- 13:10Speaker 1: there was an actual legal incident. Well that wasn't a
- 13:14Speaker 1: report that just happened right.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Well, that's what I'm saying in terms of I don't
- 13:17Speaker 3: think we're in that territory because I know he had
- 13:20Speaker 3: the incident a year ago with the total truck driver
- 13:23Speaker 3: and all that he's been cleared of any charges of
- 13:26Speaker 3: that in that case, unless there's more cases that we
- 13:29Speaker 3: don't know about that weren't you know, risen to the
- 13:33Speaker 3: legal level, you know, where he's getting charged with anything,
- 13:37Speaker 3: Like I guess maybe that could happen. But my point being,
- 13:39Speaker 3: Jalen Carter had the it was speeding right or reckless
- 13:43Speaker 3: driving yea drag racing that that happened like the spring
- 13:48Speaker 3: of the draft, right like that happened that year. So
- 13:51Speaker 3: Jalen Carter ended up falling ten uh to Philadelphia obviously,
- 13:55Speaker 3: and that looks like a home run pick for them.
- 13:58Speaker 3: But here's what McGinn wrote, you know, just kind of
- 14:01Speaker 3: I'm not gonna read the whole thing, but here here's
- 14:03Speaker 3: an excerpt from m again on Abdul Carter. That scout
- 14:07Speaker 3: was one of four personnel people to express reservations about
- 14:10Speaker 3: Carter's makeup. He's not a great worker, said one plays
- 14:14Speaker 3: his butt off on Saturday, but he's not a great
- 14:17Speaker 3: guy during the week because he's so gifted. So I
- 14:19Speaker 3: think the bit the general gist of what McGinn wrote
- 14:23Speaker 3: from all these different scouts about Carters. He's a little
- 14:25Speaker 3: high maintenance.
- 14:26Speaker 1: He's kind of a diva.
- 14:27Speaker 3: He's a little high maintenance, you know, and he's one
- 14:30Speaker 3: of those guys that Monday through Saturday might not give
- 14:33Speaker 3: it as all, but Sunday he obviously, you know, when
- 14:36Speaker 3: you turn on the tape, you can see what he
- 14:37Speaker 3: can do on Sundays or Saturdays, you know, in college football.
- 14:41Speaker 3: So I think the number one thing to me with
- 14:44Speaker 3: all of this, I always take this type of stuff
- 14:46Speaker 3: with a grain of salt. You know, you never know
- 14:48Speaker 3: if anybody has a motive or an axe to grind
- 14:50Speaker 3: or whatever with a certain player. I tried not to
- 14:53Speaker 3: look too much into any of that kind of stuff
- 14:55Speaker 3: and just stick to the to the football and stick
- 14:58Speaker 3: to the tape. But when Rabel's here and Elliot Wolf
- 15:01Speaker 3: and Ryan Cowden, and we can see it with their
- 15:04Speaker 3: actions that they have been big culture evaluating us, you know,
- 15:09Speaker 3: effort and finish on the football field, getting the right
- 15:13Speaker 3: kind of football players, getting the culture. Guys in this
- 15:15Speaker 3: locker room, getting former captains, you know, guys that are
- 15:19Speaker 3: gonna circle the wagons for them with guys like Harold Landry,
- 15:22Speaker 3: like just they're big on culture. Yeah, they're big on
- 15:25Speaker 3: that word. And if Carter is there again, it's a
- 15:29Speaker 3: talent grab. It's a situation where you can't hesitate in
- 15:32Speaker 3: my opinion, but it is a test. It's a little
- 15:36Speaker 3: bit of a test of how much are they willing
- 15:40Speaker 3: to bend in that department Because to me, the reason
- 15:45Speaker 3: why Travis Hunter is getting some number two buzz now
- 15:49Speaker 3: over Abdul Carter is that Travis Hunter is a perfect
- 15:53Speaker 3: off and on the field football player he is. He
- 15:56Speaker 3: eats breeze football. He always says like I have eight
- 16:00Speaker 3: hours of sleep in sixteen hours to work on football,
- 16:03Speaker 3: and like that's the type of guy that he is.
- 16:05Speaker 3: He's a worker. He's very prepared. He does a lot
- 16:08Speaker 3: of film study. His character is very well thought of.
- 16:12Speaker 1: All he does. All he does is study football and
- 16:15Speaker 1: play video games. That's really it. Yeah, Like he talked
- 16:18Speaker 1: about this on College Game Day last year where he
- 16:20Speaker 1: was like, I'm in the film room, I'm Matt practice,
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'm in the workroom, and they're like, you must do
- 16:23Speaker 1: something else. He's a streamer, that's you know what a
- 16:26Speaker 1: lot of these kids do. That's what he does. But
- 16:28Speaker 1: usually like he plays CFB twenty five like it's still
- 16:31Speaker 1: a football game. So that he is it is really underrated.
- 16:36Speaker 1: I would say the most underrated part about his game
- 16:39Speaker 1: right now, just the general consensus what I read about
- 16:42Speaker 1: him is how much of a student of the game
- 16:44Speaker 1: he truly is.
- 16:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, and if Abdol Carter isn't that And we're
- 16:52Speaker 3: looking at the two of these players, and I think
- 16:54Speaker 3: most people would agree either they're one two or two one,
- 16:57Speaker 3: and they're both kind of equally graded. In that blue
- 16:59Speaker 3: chip terrritory. Like these types of things, when you're making
- 17:02Speaker 3: a pick that high can certainly sway you towards one
- 17:05Speaker 3: player versus another. Do you think that Vrabel would concede
- 17:09Speaker 3: on the culture stuff because Carter is just so overwhelmingly talented.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Well, this is kind of a I don't want to
- 17:16Speaker 1: do that. It's a catch twenty two. On one hand,
- 17:22Speaker 1: he doesn't necessarily fit the culture that you're looking for,
- 17:25Speaker 1: and that might be a red flag. On the other hand,
- 17:29Speaker 1: isn't this part of why you build that strong culture
- 17:32Speaker 1: Because if there is a guy that's so monumentally talented,
- 17:35Speaker 1: and Bill did this again and again and again. If
- 17:38Speaker 1: there is a guy that's so monumentally talented but maybe
- 17:42Speaker 1: isn't exactly the person you wanted to be, the idea
- 17:44Speaker 1: is you can get him in a room that's ninety
- 17:46Speaker 1: ninety five percent guys that are all pulling in the
- 17:49Speaker 1: same direction. You hope he's going to buy into that,
- 17:52Speaker 1: that the culture will support him and uplift him. So now,
- 17:56Speaker 1: it's one thing to do that ten years in. It's
- 17:58Speaker 1: another thing to do what you're right. If we were
- 18:01Speaker 1: having this conversation ten years into the raable tenure, i'd say,
- 18:04Speaker 1: and things go the way we think they're gonna go,
- 18:06Speaker 1: or he thinks they're gonna go, absolutely right. You bring
- 18:09Speaker 1: them in and okay, like the culture is there, the
- 18:12Speaker 1: program is instilled, and it's just gonna what is it,
- 18:16Speaker 1: high tides, lift all boats or whatever, like it's gonna
- 18:18Speaker 1: help me out year one. It's a little more of
- 18:20Speaker 1: a risk. But the other argument is, this is why
- 18:23Speaker 1: you build a strong culture. So when a guy like
- 18:25Speaker 1: Abdull Carter is available with his talent, even if he's
- 18:28Speaker 1: maybe he doesn't isn't as motivated as you want him
- 18:30Speaker 1: to be, he's gonna have no choice but to change
- 18:33Speaker 1: the way he operates when he gets in this building,
- 18:36Speaker 1: because that's just how things are done in this building.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree, and and I think the other you know, conversation,
- 18:42Speaker 3: I don't want to spend too much time on the
- 18:43Speaker 3: character still because I don't know Abdul Carter, Like it's
- 18:45Speaker 3: not my reporting, Like I don't know the guy's when
- 18:49Speaker 3: you start to talk about why could he be falling?
- 18:52Speaker 3: And that's sort of a conversation that's going around right now.
- 18:55Speaker 3: This is the only reason why it's obviously not the
- 18:57Speaker 3: tape right, like it's it's obviously not the foot player
- 19:00Speaker 3: because we can all see how talented he is, but
- 19:03Speaker 3: it might be some of this other stuff. I don't
- 19:05Speaker 3: think it's the foot I I think that that's that's
- 19:07Speaker 3: something that is.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Oh no, he can't, he can't do half a mini camp.
- 19:11Speaker 1: We got drive somebody else.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Like, No, I don't think it's that. This to me
- 19:15Speaker 3: is is one hundred percent.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Uh. If there's anything going on, it might be care
- 19:21Speaker 1: I hate doing this stuff, but it also is it's
- 19:23Speaker 1: important context, like we because we're projecting off the tape, right,
- 19:27Speaker 1: but the one part piece of information that we don't have.
- 19:31Speaker 1: We're not in the meeting rooms with these guys. Yeah,
- 19:33Speaker 1: we and you hear coaches talk here and there, but
- 19:36Speaker 1: everybody has an agenda, right, We don't have necessarily the
- 19:39Speaker 1: full personality, mental makeup picture that the teams do. So
- 19:44Speaker 1: we this happens every year. There's one or two guys
- 19:46Speaker 1: I really like that fall and it's why do they fall?
- 19:49Speaker 1: If if you thought they were so good? Has happened
- 19:51Speaker 1: with Deman Jones a couple of years ago. You know,
- 19:53Speaker 1: I thought he's gonna be an early second round pick.
- 19:55Speaker 1: He went what mid fourth like early forth, Sometimes guys
- 19:59Speaker 1: fall a little bit and it's like, already felt a
- 20:00Speaker 1: little bit. Maybe I was wrong. There's a certain point
- 20:02Speaker 1: where a guy falls to a level where it's like,
- 20:04Speaker 1: clearly somebody knows something I don't know. And at this
- 20:07Speaker 1: point I'll go with the somebody. Nolan Smith. We thought
- 20:10Speaker 1: Nolan Smith was a clear cut first round pick and
- 20:14Speaker 1: we were shocked when he felt like beyond the top twenty.
- 20:16Speaker 1: What do you end up going third round? Right? You mean?
- 20:18Speaker 4: Ni?
- 20:19Speaker 1: Kobe Dean? N Kobe Dean, thank you? Yeah? Na Kobe
- 20:21Speaker 1: Dean goes like very late in the draft, and then
- 20:24Speaker 1: it comes out he had a shoulder injury that nobody
- 20:27Speaker 1: knew about. And it's like if I had known that,
- 20:29Speaker 1: I would have adjusted, but it wasn't out there. So yeah,
- 20:33Speaker 1: I hate talking about this stuff, but it all it's
- 20:36Speaker 1: the part of the picture that we don't have. So
- 20:39Speaker 1: when we get these little nuggets of it, I do
- 20:42Speaker 1: think it's worth the dressing. And it goes the other
- 20:44Speaker 1: way too. It's not just to beat on guys like
- 20:46Speaker 1: we've talked about, but the good things usually those are
- 20:49Speaker 1: put out there because they're good and they want you
- 20:50Speaker 1: to know, when we hear about like the leadership of
- 20:53Speaker 1: certain players or things like that, how they are as
- 20:56Speaker 1: a teammate. Like, the good stuff is going to be
- 20:58Speaker 1: put out there, so we have a little bit more
- 20:59Speaker 1: of that to talk about.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Whether you think it's overblown or not with some of
- 21:03Speaker 3: this stuff that comes out in these you know, McGinn
- 21:05Speaker 3: style articles. Dan Brukler released the Beasts today. Usually Dan's
- 21:10Speaker 3: a little bit more timid with some of this stuff.
- 21:14Speaker 1: But if there is honest.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Concerns about a player's you know, mental makeup. You know
- 21:20Speaker 3: Javon Baker, I remember last year, you know, some of
- 21:22Speaker 3: this stuff about his maturity and all that kind of
- 21:24Speaker 3: stuff came in the Beast like that that he'll come
- 21:27Speaker 3: out and say it too, right, And it's important because,
- 21:30Speaker 3: like you said, we're on the outside looking in to
- 21:33Speaker 3: this puzzle. We don't have all the information at hand,
- 21:36Speaker 3: and when we will, you know, get our takes out.
- 21:40Speaker 3: It's about the tape, it's about the film, it's about
- 21:42Speaker 3: the player, and we have to realize that this other
- 21:46Speaker 3: stuff is just as important to teams as the football.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and we did. The only reason we don't talk
- 21:52Speaker 1: about it is is we don't have it right, right,
- 21:53Speaker 1: we will look and sometimes it ends up being Psyeah.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Two years ago, teams were worried Christian Zalez was soft yeah,
- 22:00Speaker 1: and he wouldn't make it, and he fell to fourteen,
- 22:01Speaker 1: and then he fell to seventeen, and Annual fourteen he
- 22:04Speaker 1: went over him. Kean White too, Kean waves another one.
- 22:06Speaker 1: So sometimes it ends up being bs yeah in the
- 22:09Speaker 1: at the end. But it impact we're talking about when
- 22:11Speaker 1: we're talking about draft stock. It matters. And then you
- 22:15Speaker 1: know I said it about Gonzales at the time, all right,
- 22:17Speaker 1: it impacted this draft stock. I understand that. I didn't
- 22:20Speaker 1: think it was going to impact him as a player.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Those are two different conversations. Team screwed the draft up
- 22:24Speaker 1: all the time. You have to consider that.
- 22:26Speaker 3: So the other thing, as we segue into the next
- 22:29Speaker 3: news item I wanted to bring up, I have zero
- 22:32Speaker 3: hesitations about Abdul Carter playing defense, like not being like
- 22:36Speaker 3: a tackle or a receiver an offensive player. I think
- 22:39Speaker 3: the bad teams stay bad by passing on better players
- 22:44Speaker 3: for needs. Right, any if you have a chance to
- 22:46Speaker 3: get Abdul Carter now, you might look at me and
- 22:49Speaker 3: say you think Mason Graham's a better prospect than Will
- 22:52Speaker 3: Campbell or you think Jalen Walker is a bet. Those
- 22:55Speaker 3: guys to me are in the same cluster. They're in
- 22:57Speaker 3: the same stack, so need andsosition and positional value might
- 23:02Speaker 3: be a little bit more heavily weighted when you're within
- 23:04Speaker 3: a tier of players. Abdul Carter is in his own tier,
- 23:08Speaker 3: different tier, right, So when we're talking about Abdul Carter
- 23:10Speaker 3: over Will Campbell, or Abdul Carter over Ted McMillan or
- 23:14Speaker 3: Tyler Warren or whatever the case may be, we're talking
- 23:17Speaker 3: about a different level of prospect.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Gent is in that tier with Kit, with Carter and Hunter.
- 23:22Speaker 1: To me, he's just it's sure the running back thing.
- 23:25Speaker 1: But like I so to case in point for the Giants,
- 23:29Speaker 1: if it goes quarterback quarterback, they get to do the
- 23:32Speaker 1: whole positional value and fit thing. Yeah, with Carter and Hunter.
- 23:36Speaker 1: And that's why I think they would take Travis Hunter,
- 23:37Speaker 1: even though Carter might be a little bit of a prospect.
- 23:40Speaker 1: The one thing that kind of haves edge, So they
- 23:43Speaker 1: get to do that. If you're the Patriots and it's
- 23:45Speaker 1: Abdul Carter or the field, you don't get to do
- 23:48Speaker 1: that or Travis Hunter in the field. You don't really
- 23:50Speaker 1: get to do that because they're such different levels of player.
- 23:54Speaker 3: And I like what the Patriots have done on the
- 23:56Speaker 3: defensive line. Milton Williams is obviously a great player, a
- 23:59Speaker 3: good sign Harold l Anders, a solid signing that's gonna
- 24:02Speaker 3: be an NFL caliber starter that's gonna be plug and
- 24:06Speaker 3: play and a defense he's familiar with. But they don't
- 24:08Speaker 3: have it. They don't have a sack artist, like, they
- 24:10Speaker 3: don't have a finisher. They to me Abdull Carter completes
- 24:14Speaker 3: the defense like that's a cherry on top of the Sunday.
- 24:16Speaker 1: We've talked so much about the coverage dictating wide receiver. Yeah,
- 24:20Speaker 1: the blocking, dictating pass rusher. They don't have the Matthew Judon.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Right, the jude On, you know, the pure one on
- 24:27Speaker 3: one winner on the outside that's gonna have double digit sacks, right,
- 24:31Speaker 3: I don't know if they have that.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Who's the guy that's going to force offenses to do
- 24:34Speaker 1: things differently? And boy, you drop Carter into the thing. Carter,
- 24:39Speaker 1: Milton Williams, Christian Barmore. He is healthy, which probablys great
- 24:42Speaker 1: to seem in the building this week. Ye can right for workouts? Well,
- 24:45Speaker 1: I was just going to say, at all three levels, right,
- 24:47Speaker 1: you talk about cornerstone players. Kean White will see you
- 24:50Speaker 1: can get there, He's not there yet. Milton Williams, Christian Barmore,
- 24:53Speaker 1: Abdul Carter, Christian Gonzales. That's a defensive core. Yeah, that
- 24:58Speaker 1: is a true core that you can build around. And like,
- 25:00Speaker 1: those guys are going to give you a really solid floor.
- 25:03Speaker 3: When I look at the Patriots and then I promise
- 25:06Speaker 3: we'll move on because and I spend a lot of
- 25:08Speaker 3: time on this, but when I look at the Patriots
- 25:09Speaker 3: in terms of, you know what, there are pillars of
- 25:14Speaker 3: this team moving forward, Drake May, Christian Gonzalez and potentially
- 25:19Speaker 3: Abdul Carter. Doesn't that feel a little bit like Stroud,
- 25:24Speaker 3: Stingly and Will Anderson in Houston a little bit?
- 25:27Speaker 1: Right?
- 25:27Speaker 3: Like it's very similar. Obviously, Drake May hasn't risen quite
- 25:31Speaker 3: yet to the C. J. Stroud level. I wouldn't say
- 25:35Speaker 3: Stingley and Gonzales both all pro corners. I think Will
- 25:38Speaker 3: Anderson and Abdull Carter are adjacent in terms of talent
- 25:42Speaker 3: and you know, just ceiling as prospects coming out of college.
- 25:45Speaker 3: The Texans just did this right. The Texans just kind
- 25:48Speaker 3: of put set themselves up for the next at least
- 25:51Speaker 3: five years of being a playoff contending team.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Well before they tore their offensive line apartment.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, Now the difference is, and this is where
- 25:59Speaker 3: we get into defense and some of the guys I'm
- 26:02Speaker 3: I'm gonna mention with some of these recent visits that
- 26:04Speaker 3: have been reported, the little bit of difference is that
- 26:07Speaker 3: the Texans hit on Day two picks right, so that
- 26:10Speaker 3: they hit on Dave two picks specifically on offense. I
- 26:13Speaker 3: know he's been you know it hurt at times, but
- 26:16Speaker 3: you know, tant Dell, Nico Collins, you know, players like
- 26:18Speaker 3: that like you need to if you're gonna draft best available,
- 26:22Speaker 3: which is what I think Houston pretty much did with
- 26:24Speaker 3: Stingley and will Anderson.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Well they moved up to get and.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Yeah, but they he was the best player available and
- 26:32Speaker 3: they moved up and got him. When you draft those
- 26:34Speaker 3: types of players on one side of the football, you
- 26:37Speaker 3: got to hit in rounds two through seven on some
- 26:41Speaker 3: of the other positions that are going to be important
- 26:43Speaker 3: to your offense. And Nico Collins is like a mid
- 26:45Speaker 3: round draft pick that turns into one of the best
- 26:48Speaker 3: receivers in football. You know, that's right, that's the type
- 26:50Speaker 3: of thing you have to do. So along those same lines,
- 26:53Speaker 3: the Patriots reportedly again over the last week or so,
- 26:58Speaker 3: have met host did Mikel Williams and Shamar Stewart on
- 27:02Speaker 3: thirty visits. Now, my instant reaction to that was, oh, well,
- 27:07Speaker 3: they're stacking a trade down, right, Like if a trade
- 27:10Speaker 3: down is their best option at four. And I'm not
- 27:13Speaker 3: saying that they want a trade down or they have
- 27:15Speaker 3: a trade down in place. I'm just saying if like,
- 27:17Speaker 3: you have to come up with all the contingencies and
- 27:20Speaker 3: be prepared for every single possible contingency that could come
- 27:24Speaker 3: your way. So let's say they get the draft night,
- 27:27Speaker 3: Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter go in the top three.
- 27:29Speaker 3: They're sitting at four. The New Orleans Saints call, right,
- 27:34Speaker 3: and they want Shador Sanders, So they're trading up for
- 27:36Speaker 3: Shador Standers. You go back to nine. Who are what's
- 27:40Speaker 3: your stack at nine?
- 27:41Speaker 1: Right?
- 27:42Speaker 3: Like, who are the guys that you would be comfortable
- 27:44Speaker 3: with taking at nine? And Mikel Williams and Shamar Stewart
- 27:47Speaker 3: to me, would fit into that stack that range of
- 27:50Speaker 3: the draft. Now, I'm definitely mikel over Shamar Stewart. I
- 27:55Speaker 3: think Mikyle Williams is a much better football player than
- 27:59Speaker 3: Shamar Stewart.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Williams said McKay like the safety.
- 28:02Speaker 3: I said, I don't know. Mike hal Williams.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Uh, he's a better football player to me than Stuart.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Stewart's a better athlete. Stuart's a one to one athlete,
- 28:14Speaker 3: you know, absolutely rare tools and athleticism. But I didn't
- 28:19Speaker 3: love what I saw on tape from Stewart. I thought
- 28:20Speaker 3: he was stiff. It doesn't have a ton of bend
- 28:22Speaker 3: off the edge, not gonna win with much finesse. You know,
- 28:25Speaker 3: I really actually thought watching him that Will Campbell, you know,
- 28:29Speaker 3: kind of ate his lunch. Like he really didn't give
- 28:31Speaker 3: Will Campbell very many problems at all. You know, Guys
- 28:34Speaker 3: like Kyle Knard, you know, his teammate Nick Scot and
- 28:37Speaker 3: like some more twitched up guys that can you know,
- 28:39Speaker 3: win with more speed and win with more finesse. Like
- 28:42Speaker 3: those guys tended to give Will Campbell some problems. But
- 28:45Speaker 3: to me right now, Shamar Stewart's a ball play. He's
- 28:47Speaker 3: a risk I think for the Patriots shore to your
- 28:51Speaker 3: point earlier if we were two, three, four years into
- 28:54Speaker 3: this thing and they had somehow got into the you know,
- 28:57Speaker 3: a top ten pick or a late top ten pick,
- 28:59Speaker 3: and they want to give Rabel and Terrell Williams this
- 29:02Speaker 3: ball of clay, you know, raw toolsy athletic pass rusher,
- 29:06Speaker 3: you know, have at it. But I think the Patriots
- 29:08Speaker 3: need to get on base with this draft pick as
- 29:11Speaker 3: much as anything. They need to hit one right down
- 29:14Speaker 3: the fairway. Mikel Williams, I think does that a little
- 29:17Speaker 3: bit more, a little bit more college production, a little
- 29:20Speaker 3: bit more translatable. I think to a four to three
- 29:22Speaker 3: and you know he's a four to three base end,
- 29:24Speaker 3: like that's what he is. Great length, you know, above
- 29:27Speaker 3: average length in terms of arm length, and also stride
- 29:30Speaker 3: length as well. I think is a good strength of
- 29:33Speaker 3: his really good film against Kelvin Banks Junior. A trade
- 29:37Speaker 3: down to nine ish in drafting Mikel Williams or you know,
- 29:42Speaker 3: Jalen Walker, I know is getting some buzz as well.
- 29:44Speaker 1: To get a nine. I feel like he's heat. That guy,
- 29:47Speaker 1: screams Carolina Panther.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, either one of those guys, though, I'd be
- 29:51Speaker 3: okay with in that scenario but what are your thoughts
- 29:54Speaker 3: in the meeting with those guys, because I think Williams
- 29:57Speaker 3: and again, I think Williams and Stewart are kind of
- 30:00Speaker 3: in the no man's land for them, like it doesn't
- 30:02Speaker 3: really feel like they're going to be in a position
- 30:03Speaker 3: to draft those guys.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Well, so, Stuart, I've seen some mocks that put them
- 30:08Speaker 1: down into the twenties. Now, some of that is Mike
- 30:10Speaker 1: Green going higher than expected with that, that's another guy
- 30:13Speaker 1: that has some non football concerns. Yeah, some of those
- 30:18Speaker 1: mocks have some other edge guys going earlier, but no,
- 30:21Speaker 1: they're they're they want to be ready if a trade
- 30:23Speaker 1: down comes. You can't get to nine and be like, shoot,
- 30:25Speaker 1: we don't know anything about any of these guys, right,
- 30:27Speaker 1: so you want to be prepared in that situation. It
- 30:31Speaker 1: also might be something we've heard of this. Both those
- 30:34Speaker 1: guys played in the SEC, right, Yeah, Hey, what you
- 30:37Speaker 1: what did you think of well Campbell? Yeh? What was
- 30:39Speaker 1: it like facing him? Kelvin Banks? What was that like?
- 30:41Speaker 1: Going up against him like that? That's the best that
- 30:44Speaker 1: can be some of the best intel you get literally
- 30:46Speaker 1: talking the guys who are lined up on the other side.
- 30:49Speaker 1: So it doesn't have to be one of the other.
- 30:51Speaker 1: It could be both. Hey, we want to know about
- 30:52Speaker 1: a trade back and also we're kind of interested in
- 30:55Speaker 1: what this guy is to say about some of the tackles.
- 30:57Speaker 1: So I don't hate it they're doing. They're due diligence.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I see people freak out some time they're burning thirty visits.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Thirty is a lot of visits, especially when you consider that, well,
- 31:07Speaker 1: they don't have as much help with the local pro
- 31:09Speaker 1: dates as like, there's no reason for the Cowboys to
- 31:12Speaker 1: have a thirty Yeah, because you can. You can host
- 31:14Speaker 1: players who are either I think it's what within ninety
- 31:17Speaker 1: miles of your team facility.
- 31:19Speaker 3: There's some like outside the lines with that in terms
- 31:22Speaker 3: of like the lines, I mean literally like drawing the
- 31:25Speaker 3: mileage lines, Like Yukon is a local visit for the Patriots,
- 31:29Speaker 3: So I don't know if it exactly fits into the mileage,
- 31:31Speaker 3: but they stretch it because they know there isn't a
- 31:34Speaker 3: ton of college football.
- 31:35Speaker 1: The Cowboys have the university, they have all those schools
- 31:38Speaker 1: in Dallas, plus all the kids that are from that
- 31:40Speaker 1: area that ARECU Baylor. Yeah, some of the Florida teams too,
- 31:44Speaker 1: the Dolphins, the Jags. They have a nice advantage there.
- 31:46Speaker 1: But yeah, that's a side rant. Yeah, no, I think
- 31:50Speaker 1: it's just due diligence.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I would agree with that.
- 31:53Speaker 1: And it's also you know, it's a smoke screen too,
- 31:56Speaker 1: like if they only met with Will Campbell, do they
- 32:00Speaker 1: meet with Membo? So I don't.
- 32:03Speaker 3: I'm sure they have, but I don't know if.
- 32:04Speaker 1: For thirty, But if you have Will Campbell visit and
- 32:07Speaker 1: that's it, you kind of lose a lot of leverage
- 32:12Speaker 1: if you're trying to make a trade or what have you.
- 32:14Speaker 1: So yeah, get to know the top guys on the board.
- 32:17Speaker 3: I think it's interesting. Uh, you know, we hear these
- 32:20Speaker 3: thirty visits and you mentioned that them knowing the opponents
- 32:26Speaker 3: that they've gone up against. You know, Calvin Banks Junior
- 32:28Speaker 3: is a good one. I don't know if if Williams
- 32:31Speaker 3: ever faced Campbell maybe two years ago. They didn't play
- 32:34Speaker 3: Georgia last year. I know that, But anyways, yeah, uh,
- 32:37Speaker 3: maybe he has along the line. But I've heard that
- 32:40Speaker 3: before that guys will get hosted for visits and they'll
- 32:44Speaker 3: spend the entire visit talking about their teammate or talking
- 32:47Speaker 3: about a guy they went up against. Usually it's a teammate.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Like usually you're you bring in like you know, a
- 32:52Speaker 3: quarterbacks receiver, recorder, you know, vice versa, and like you
- 32:57Speaker 3: kind of use them to get to know the other player.
- 33:00Speaker 3: But there's times where like they'll say, yeah, like they
- 33:02Speaker 3: didn't ask me any questions about me, that they're asking
- 33:04Speaker 3: me all questions about you know, Shador, They're asking me
- 33:07Speaker 3: all questions about Travis Hunter. Like you know, it's something
- 33:09Speaker 3: totally different. But I looked at that in my at
- 33:12Speaker 3: face value and said, you know, if they if they
- 33:16Speaker 3: orchestrated trade down here than those two guys. And I
- 33:19Speaker 3: think in general, just having interesting interest in edge in
- 33:23Speaker 3: general makes a lot of sense. And I know some
- 33:25Speaker 3: people look at it and and want other positions and
- 33:29Speaker 3: want them to fill other needs early in the draft.
- 33:31Speaker 3: But it's a great edge class. And I would say
- 33:34Speaker 3: that the Patriots still could use a young, you know,
- 33:38Speaker 3: developing player there. You know, Harold Landry I think is
- 33:41Speaker 3: good for now. He's he's going to be a good
- 33:43Speaker 3: starter for them in the short term. Really opposite of Landry,
- 33:47Speaker 3: you know, is it Kean White, you know, is he
- 33:49Speaker 3: an outside guy? Is he really more just a rotational
- 33:52Speaker 3: inside guy? You know, Chase On I think is really
- 33:55Speaker 3: a situational pass rusher. I don't think he's a starting
- 33:58Speaker 3: end for them, So drafting somebody at that position, I again,
- 34:04Speaker 3: like going back to the Abdual Carter thing. I don't
- 34:06Speaker 3: think it's crazy, Like I don't.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I'm with you, but I think in this draft, like
- 34:10Speaker 1: they don't need to take that guy in the first
- 34:12Speaker 1: round and get that guy. There's some really good Day
- 34:14Speaker 1: two edge guys.
- 34:15Speaker 3: All right, let's get into my guys, and then we'll
- 34:18Speaker 3: take the calls in the emails for the last hour
- 34:21Speaker 3: or so here. Let's start with quarterback as we can
- 34:24Speaker 3: kind of probably.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Go pretty quickly. Just go to the first round. Yeah,
- 34:26Speaker 1: first round, guys are out let me at real quick.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Just aside from the Patriots. Who ends up being QB
- 34:33Speaker 1: three and where does he go?
- 34:35Speaker 3: Jackson Dart yep, mid to eight first like twenties.
- 34:42Speaker 1: So I when I did my mock draft, I added,
- 34:44Speaker 1: as Jackson Dart, I had the Giants moving up to
- 34:46Speaker 1: I think twenty six to take them. I had them
- 34:48Speaker 1: taking Hunter right and then Jackson Dart makes the most sense.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Jalen Miller accepted that invite to the draft, so so
- 34:57Speaker 1: I'm not se was surprising some people. I think he's no, no.
- 35:02Speaker 3: I just quarterback. I gotta be honest. I just didn't
- 35:05Speaker 3: really care too much about quarterbacks. So, uh, I liked
- 35:09Speaker 3: what I saw.
- 35:10Speaker 1: At Jillian Milroe though.
- 35:11Speaker 3: And you know, most of these guys I just watched
- 35:12Speaker 3: because I was watching other guys, and you obviously the quarterbacks,
- 35:15Speaker 3: so you see them. I just look at Jalen Milroe. Uh,
- 35:19Speaker 3: he's such a great athlete and uh he's got some
- 35:22Speaker 3: zip on the ball. Like he's not a bad thrower either.
- 35:25Speaker 3: That I think you can build an offense with Jalen Milroe. Like,
- 35:30Speaker 3: it's gonna have to be specific to Jalen Milroe. It's
- 35:32Speaker 3: gonna have to be, you know, similar to what the
- 35:34Speaker 3: Eagles do with her, you know, and stuff like that,
- 35:36Speaker 3: even you know, the Commanders with Jayden Daniels. It's gonna
- 35:39Speaker 3: have to be specific to the player, and it's gonna
- 35:41Speaker 3: have to be different, uh than you know, you're not
- 35:44Speaker 3: gonna just plug him into a pro style NFL offense
- 35:48Speaker 3: that goes under center and uh and does what NFL
- 35:50Speaker 3: pocket quarterbacks do and expect it to work. But if
- 35:54Speaker 3: you're crafty enough, if you're creative enough as an offensive mind.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Uh.
- 35:57Speaker 3: I think that there's so much raw talent there and
- 36:00Speaker 3: raw ability, especially with his athleticism and his mobility, that
- 36:05Speaker 3: I'd be willing to take a bet on Jalen Hurts
- 36:07Speaker 3: in the second round.
- 36:08Speaker 1: So, Jen, I'll give you a couple fits for Jalen
- 36:10Speaker 1: Milroe for me. Yeah, one is the Saints if they
- 36:15Speaker 1: move up in the late first right, Kellen Moore just
- 36:18Speaker 1: did that with Jalen Hurts. The other one is the
- 36:19Speaker 1: Browns because when Jaln Milroe had that breakout your album
- 36:23Speaker 1: in twenty twenty three, who was his offensive coordinator? That
- 36:27Speaker 1: wasn't Bill O'Brien Nope, twenty three. Oh Tommy Reese, who's
- 36:31Speaker 1: now the OC in Cleveland. Yeah. I think Jaln Milroe
- 36:35Speaker 1: or Will Howard should be the QB three in this
- 36:36Speaker 1: draft because one has immense ceiling, one has a very
- 36:40Speaker 1: solid floor. Jackson Dart to me is splitting the difference.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I have no interest in splitting the difference. On day two.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Give me an extreme, which extreme we could debate that
- 36:48Speaker 1: and that's probably Team New Team. I think it should
- 36:49Speaker 1: be Milroe. I really like Will Howard.
- 36:51Speaker 3: I do I have Will Howard on my list too,
- 36:53Speaker 3: as day two obviously as well. I don't know where
- 36:55Speaker 3: Milroe is gonna fall in exactly, but I watched his
- 37:00Speaker 3: doing like the QB school stuff. Again, he's great on
- 37:02Speaker 3: the whiteboard, A smart kid, you know, can conceptually understands
- 37:07Speaker 3: the game really well. I thought he throws a great
- 37:09Speaker 3: ball like it you know, it's he's a pocket passer's
- 37:12Speaker 3: big you know, six foot five, two hundred and thirty
- 37:14Speaker 3: pound pocket passer. Throws a really good ball again, understands
- 37:18Speaker 3: conceptually what the offense is trying to achieve, what he's reading,
- 37:22Speaker 3: what he's seeing out there from the defense. I mean,
- 37:24Speaker 3: he's probably not the most creative offscript guy or most
- 37:27Speaker 3: mobile guy. He doesn't really.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Have that in him move around a little bit.
- 37:32Speaker 3: But I think that he's you know, like you said,
- 37:33Speaker 3: maybe I don't know if you know, high floor, but
- 37:36Speaker 3: like I just think that you run an offense with
- 37:38Speaker 3: him right like you cat, he can really come in
- 37:40Speaker 3: and step in and run an offense. Now, he's obviously
- 37:43Speaker 3: going to have the concerns if you will, you know,
- 37:46Speaker 3: similar to like Mac Jones at Alabama, Like was it
- 37:48Speaker 3: just you know, Jamari Smith and all all these different
- 37:51Speaker 3: people you know around him.
- 37:53Speaker 1: He was pretty good at at Kansas State. Yeah he
- 37:56Speaker 1: didn't have Ye, there's some guys on that team, but
- 37:57Speaker 1: not the same level of talent.
- 37:58Speaker 3: Yeah, so I get that concern. Yeah, he's he's got
- 38:03Speaker 3: a great offensive line, he's got Chip Kelly calling plays,
- 38:06Speaker 3: he's got all worldwide receivers all over the place at
- 38:09Speaker 3: Ohio State. But I just like the skill set and
- 38:12Speaker 3: I think he's a guy that will make it work
- 38:14Speaker 3: in the NFL. Probably won't be a ceiling quarterback. He's
- 38:17Speaker 3: probably never gonna be like a top five quarterback in
- 38:19Speaker 3: the league, but I think he could be a starter.
- 38:21Speaker 1: I think so too.
- 38:22Speaker 3: Yeah, should we do like Patriots guys? Now, Well, I
- 38:25Speaker 3: was just I don't. I don't think the Patriots have
- 38:27Speaker 3: any interest in any of these quarterbacks.
- 38:29Speaker 1: I well, they're gonna add a quarterback because Josh McDaniels
- 38:32Speaker 1: usually wants foreign camp, so that's they're gonna get their
- 38:36Speaker 1: Trace McSorley veteran camp are right, I wouldn't be surprised
- 38:39Speaker 1: they draft another guy to have him around imagency emergency
- 38:42Speaker 1: third quarterback. Obviously, he's not gonna have the same physical
- 38:45Speaker 1: tools as a guy like Joe Milton, so there's less
- 38:47Speaker 1: concern there. There's two guys. I look at one and
- 38:50Speaker 1: I know you hate this, and I've kind of dumped
- 38:52Speaker 1: on this guy during the process. But for where the
- 38:54Speaker 1: situation is now, it makes sense, and that's Brady Cook.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Brady Cook was terrible in twenty twenty four. He was
- 39:01Speaker 1: not good.
- 39:01Speaker 3: Why Luther Burnden is not gonna go in the first round.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Brady Cook in twenty twenty three was a baller. Brady
- 39:07Speaker 1: Cook was awesome in twenty twenty three ball stretch. He
- 39:09Speaker 1: was really he was better. He was he was one
- 39:12Speaker 1: of the best quarterbacks in the SEC. In twenty twenty four.
- 39:13Speaker 1: He was better. Teams are gonna look at it and say,
- 39:16Speaker 1: what happened in twenty twenty four. If Elliott Wolf wants
- 39:20Speaker 1: to repeat what he did with Joe Milton, Okay, we're
- 39:21Speaker 1: gonna find a guy with some tools, with some sneaky upside,
- 39:24Speaker 1: see if we can flip him. Brady Cook's got some mobility,
- 39:27Speaker 1: he's got a big arm. It's not in the same
- 39:29Speaker 1: stratosphere as Joe Milton, but nobody is right. Yeah, you
- 39:32Speaker 1: want to try to bet on somebody that maybe can
- 39:34Speaker 1: have a couple of good preseason games, you can flip.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Brady Cook has flashed more than any of those guys
- 39:38Speaker 1: late on Day three or the udfas are gonna flash.
- 39:41Speaker 1: The other one is Max Brosmer from Minnesota, very experienced quarterback,
- 39:46Speaker 1: a local guy, played at UNH for a few years,
- 39:48Speaker 1: was dominant at UNH. Transferred to Minnesota last year and
- 39:52Speaker 1: held his own. He looked like a solid. He wasn't unbelievable.
- 39:56Speaker 1: But again, if you're just looking for somebody to be
- 39:58Speaker 1: that emergency third quarterback on game day that maybe you
- 40:01Speaker 1: can flip in a year or two, Brasmer is a
- 40:03Speaker 1: little interesting to me. All right, Well that's your quarterbacks.
- 40:06Speaker 1: You don't have anybody they're gonna go late in the draft.
- 40:08Speaker 1: You must have one. Come on, now, watched all these
- 40:10Speaker 1: wide receivers.
- 40:11Speaker 3: I have no appeal for any of them, his quarterback
- 40:14Speaker 3: coast thinks, And I have no appeal for any of them.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Churizma.
- 40:17Speaker 3: Now like maybe maybe, like you know, I could get
- 40:20Speaker 3: talked into like a Curtis Roke or Brady Cook, like
- 40:23Speaker 3: as like a seventh round you do.
- 40:25Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying, Like I'm not taking these guys, Curtis,
- 40:28Speaker 1: I think.
- 40:28Speaker 3: To me, kinder Minds reminded me a little bit of
- 40:31Speaker 3: like Aidan O'Connell, Like he's just like gonna be like
- 40:33Speaker 3: an NFL backup.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Well he also he played all of last year on
- 40:36Speaker 1: a twenty cl Yeah.
- 40:37Speaker 3: So if you're looking for somebody that is totally non
- 40:41Speaker 3: threatening and is going to just fit into a back
- 40:43Speaker 3: of what I'm saying, then Curtis Rourke I think makes
- 40:46Speaker 3: the most sense.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Curtis Rourke. Brady Rabel's gonna like Curtis Rourke, excuse me,
- 40:49Speaker 1: because he has the intangibs. Let me give you one
- 40:52Speaker 1: more quarterbacks.
- 40:53Speaker 3: I think Brady Cook. It not that I don't want
- 40:56Speaker 3: to do the whole Juem Milton thing again, but I.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Think Brady He's not on that level.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Brady Cook, though, has is more of like the tools upside.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Yeah, pick here.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Curtis Rourke to me, is if you want a draft
- 41:08Speaker 3: Chase Daniel, Like if you want to draft a career backup,
- 41:11Speaker 3: who could back up? Who could back up Drake May
- 41:14Speaker 3: for the next five years? Like this is Curtis Rurke.
- 41:16Speaker 3: That that's Curtis Rourke and Bros. Murder me Brady Cooks
- 41:19Speaker 3: a little more. If they want to see if they
- 41:20Speaker 3: can flip another quarterback.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Yeah, one more quick quarterback take because I've seen people
- 41:23Speaker 1: bring up Garrett Green from West Virginia and Tommy Mellett
- 41:26Speaker 1: from Montana State and say, hey, you can bring these
- 41:30Speaker 1: guys in. They can be the third quarterback and maybe
- 41:32Speaker 1: they can play receiver. Garrett Green's like five to eleven.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Tommy Mellett's a smaller guy who was an option quarterback
- 41:37Speaker 1: in Atanta State. Again, well, so here's what I'd say.
- 41:40Speaker 1: I don't think either of those guys are gonna be
- 41:42Speaker 1: Julian Needelman because Julian Edelman's wonted to mill. But if
- 41:45Speaker 1: you want to try it and they're both, I don't
- 41:47Speaker 1: think either one's gonna get drafted. If you want to
- 41:48Speaker 1: try it as UDFA, I'm not opposed to it, fine,
- 41:52Speaker 1: but there if you're doing that for them to play
- 41:54Speaker 1: wide receiver, in them to learn how to play wide receiver,
- 41:56Speaker 1: you can't do Malie Cunningham again, where all right, we're
- 41:59Speaker 1: gonna play a little bit of quarterback are and to
- 42:01Speaker 1: play them a little bit of No, if you want
- 42:02Speaker 1: to develop those guys a wide receiver, you develop them
- 42:05Speaker 1: as a wide receiver, they're not playing quarterback. They're not
- 42:07Speaker 1: gonna wear non contact jors e. They're not going to
- 42:09Speaker 1: be the emergency third quarterback on game day. If you're
- 42:12Speaker 1: adding those guys, you're adding them as receivers.
- 42:14Speaker 3: Okay, that's enough quarterback. That's that's there's the last point
- 42:17Speaker 3: I want to get out. Let's get to running backs.
- 42:20Speaker 3: So we did day one, Day two, Day three. That's
- 42:22Speaker 3: how we kind of split this up with each position.
- 42:26Speaker 3: This is my guy and a take all in one.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Oh boy, okay, you're ready for this. Yeah, So my
- 42:31Speaker 3: Day one running back is Travon Henderson because I think
- 42:34Speaker 3: Travon Henderson might go in.
- 42:36Speaker 1: The first round.
- 42:36Speaker 3: Okay, because two reasons just for the Patriots are in general,
- 42:40Speaker 3: just in.
- 42:40Speaker 1: General, but I also love him.
- 42:41Speaker 3: For the Patriots, it's probably doesn't make sense for them
- 42:43Speaker 3: to draft him just where he's gonna go. You know,
- 42:45Speaker 3: they at best are gonna get him at thirty eight, right, So,
- 42:49Speaker 3: like you know, I think it's gonna be long gone
- 42:51Speaker 3: by the time you wrap back around into the third round.
- 42:54Speaker 3: But Travon Henderson, to me, for two reasons, I think
- 42:58Speaker 3: that he might get drafted in the late fur round. One,
- 43:02Speaker 3: he's just a fluid, explosive, big play machine, right. You know,
- 43:08Speaker 3: he's got all of the the tools in the world
- 43:12Speaker 3: to be just breaking off big play after big play
- 43:15Speaker 3: in the run and in the past game, you know, screens,
- 43:17Speaker 3: routes out of the backfield, like he can do all
- 43:19Speaker 3: of that. This is, you know, coupled with the fact
- 43:22Speaker 3: that it's a it's a copycat league. Yea, the Lions
- 43:25Speaker 3: just did this with Jamiir Gibbs. And I look at
- 43:27Speaker 3: Traveon Henderson, I don't think he's quite as.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Fast as Jamiir Gibbs.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Like I think Jamior Gibbs had a little bit more
- 43:34Speaker 3: juice than Henderson, but Henderson's close. And I think that
- 43:38Speaker 3: the best cop for him is probably more like bris
- 43:40Speaker 3: Hall than it is Jamiir Gibbs. But I think that
- 43:43Speaker 3: he's got some shades of Jamiir Gibbs in his game.
- 43:46Speaker 3: And if you're one of these teams copycat League, I
- 43:48Speaker 3: would not be surprised if somebody grabs Trevon Henderson thinking
- 43:51Speaker 3: that he's the next Jamier Gibbs. And also just quickly
- 43:54Speaker 3: Jamier Gibbs got overdrafted.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, relatively consensus.
- 43:58Speaker 3: He got drafted a lot higher than people expected. So
- 44:02Speaker 3: I think that that could also be happening here with
- 44:05Speaker 3: trade first.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Round running backs from Evan I love it. Yeah, so
- 44:07Speaker 1: I did this more with Patriots in mind. First round guy,
- 44:10Speaker 1: Amari and Hampton, you want to make your young quarterback happy.
- 44:13Speaker 1: We've talked a lot about trading up from thirty eight
- 44:15Speaker 1: for a tackle or a receiver whatever. If he falls,
- 44:19Speaker 1: you know, twenty two, twenty three, twenty four, move up
- 44:22Speaker 1: get him in addition of you know, a tackle or
- 44:24Speaker 1: whoever at the top of the first round, and that
- 44:27Speaker 1: that would be my first round guy. I don't think
- 44:31Speaker 1: Anderson's going to go that high, so I guess he's
- 44:32Speaker 1: my first round guy too. Genty just feels Genty's not
- 44:35Speaker 1: the kind of guy that can be my guy because
- 44:36Speaker 1: everybody knows how good Ashon Genty is.
- 44:38Speaker 3: I wouldn't be surprised and is going to blow you away.
- 44:41Speaker 3: This is just like a like a bold prediction. Yeah right,
- 44:43Speaker 3: this isn't an actual take. It's just kind of a
- 44:45Speaker 3: bold prediction. I love amar and Hampton. I've loved him
- 44:48Speaker 3: since I saw him, you know, last year, But he
- 44:51Speaker 3: is more of like a linear runner. He's a little
- 44:53Speaker 3: bit tighter hipped he doesn't quite have the game breaking
- 44:56Speaker 3: speed that Traveon Henderson does. Like, I just wouldn't be
- 44:59Speaker 3: shocked if Travon Henderson goes a lot earlier than people
- 45:02Speaker 3: are expecting, because somebody wants a speedback in particular, right,
- 45:07Speaker 3: not you know, a work course like Omrion Hampton's. The
- 45:10Speaker 3: appeal of Amario and Hampton is the volume that he's
- 45:12Speaker 3: going to be able to take on. If you're looking
- 45:15Speaker 3: for somebody that's going to be more of a game
- 45:16Speaker 3: changer in terms of play speed and big playability, then
- 45:20Speaker 3: that's more like like Travon Henderson all right, Day two
- 45:24Speaker 3: running backs, I think you would know this for me.
- 45:28Speaker 3: I love Dylan Samson from Tennessee. I really think that
- 45:31Speaker 3: he's the best Day two running back in the range
- 45:33Speaker 3: for the Patriots, maybe with their first third round pick
- 45:37Speaker 3: if they get lucky and he makes it that far.
- 45:39Speaker 3: I just think he's a really efficient runner, but he
- 45:41Speaker 3: also has plenty of creativity and plenty of speed to
- 45:45Speaker 3: break off big plays. There are some concern there with
- 45:48Speaker 3: the wonky offense at Tennessee and the light boxes and
- 45:50Speaker 3: all that kind of stuff, but he grated out really
- 45:52Speaker 3: well against all different types of boxes. And I think
- 45:56Speaker 3: the one thing about Tennessee's offense is they underutilize past
- 45:59Speaker 3: catching running backs thrount of the running back a ton.
- 46:01Speaker 3: I think in the NFL, Dylan Sampson's gonna be an
- 46:04Speaker 3: even better pass catcher than he was in college, just
- 46:07Speaker 3: because teams will use him in that vein. He's probably
- 46:10Speaker 3: at his best in like a David Montgomery Jamir Gibbs
- 46:14Speaker 3: style platoon right where he's got like a thunder and
- 46:16Speaker 3: lightning thing going on with somebody. And that's from Andre
- 46:19Speaker 3: Stevenson for the Patriots. So if they're gonna go round
- 46:22Speaker 3: three running back and they want to find a compliment
- 46:24Speaker 3: to Remandre, I feel like Dylan Samson's the best ball
- 46:27Speaker 3: of both worlds there.
- 46:28Speaker 1: So my guy on day two, I think people can
- 46:30Speaker 1: guess this is Quinn Shawn Judkins. I just think he's
- 46:33Speaker 1: I love the way he runs. He's old school man.
- 46:36Speaker 1: For the Patriots specifically, though it has to be Sampson. Yeah,
- 46:39Speaker 1: I think you put him with Dermandre Stevenson. That's that's
- 46:42Speaker 1: just such a dynamic backfield. You're getting a little bit
- 46:44Speaker 1: of everything with those two. I think he can probably
- 46:46Speaker 1: play that pass catching back role and then do a
- 46:48Speaker 1: little bit more on top of that. So for me,
- 46:51Speaker 1: it's it's Sampson at sixty nine. Makes all the sense
- 46:54Speaker 1: in the world. Yeah, So day three, I don't know,
- 46:58Speaker 1: there's so many options.
- 46:59Speaker 3: There's gonna be a run of running backs at somewhere
- 47:02Speaker 3: in the late third, early fourth round. So that's the
- 47:05Speaker 3: cutoff for day two day three, So I don't know
- 47:07Speaker 3: how specific you want to get with that.
- 47:09Speaker 1: You know, if r J.
- 47:09Speaker 3: Harvey is there on day three though, like that's my guy.
- 47:12Speaker 1: I think RJ.
- 47:13Speaker 3: Harvey reminds me a ton of Dion Lewis, right, just
- 47:16Speaker 3: a low center of gravity, a great jump cut ability,
- 47:19Speaker 3: really elusive, thirty two runs of over fifteen yards last year.
- 47:23Speaker 3: Explosive guy. I think he's going to be able to
- 47:25Speaker 3: do that in the passing game as well. Smaller, like
- 47:27Speaker 3: not a volume back necessarily, but I think he's someone
- 47:31Speaker 3: that really has a lot of explosiveness and can still
- 47:34Speaker 3: run between the tackles. If you want to go a
- 47:36Speaker 3: little bit later because you feel like Harvey might be
- 47:38Speaker 3: third round pick and not again into the fourth round.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Brishard Smith from SMU is really appealing coverage. Yeah, converted
- 47:46Speaker 3: wide receiver goes to SMU, turns into a running back
- 47:49Speaker 3: ran a four to three nine, but still has all of
- 47:52Speaker 3: the wide receiver skill, ball skills, route running ability, can
- 47:55Speaker 3: right run routes from the slots. How about you know,
- 47:58Speaker 3: I see a little bit of Jared McKinnon, Well, Jet McKinnon.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Niam Hines like another one that I kind of thought
- 48:04Speaker 3: of a little bit of.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Him as well. I mean, like obviously not when he
- 48:07Speaker 1: was here, but like prime time time Montgomery.
- 48:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I can see that too.
- 48:10Speaker 1: I have another converted receiver.
- 48:12Speaker 3: I don't know if he's quite as as bouncy as
- 48:14Speaker 3: as Jet McKinnon. Like McKinnon is like a jitterbug. I
- 48:17Speaker 3: don't know if he quite has that.
- 48:18Speaker 1: He's more straight line. Yeah, So that's why I kind
- 48:20Speaker 1: of thought of Niame Hines. So I'm just gonna because
- 48:23Speaker 1: there's so many running backs, I'm just gonna use this
- 48:25Speaker 1: opportunity to ask why more people are not talking about
- 48:27Speaker 1: Kyle Manong. Guy. I feel like it's Isaiah Pacheco all
- 48:31Speaker 1: over again. Yeah, Like, come on, he runs mean, he
- 48:35Speaker 1: runs angry, He's faster than people think he can handle
- 48:38Speaker 1: himself in the passing game. I really like Kyle mno
- 48:41Speaker 1: on guy, but my guy for the Patriots. You know,
- 48:44Speaker 1: I gotta go with laquin Dallen Syracuse or Wood he
- 48:48Speaker 1: marks like Luquindallen, Wood, he marks Purshard Smith. Give me
- 48:50Speaker 1: one of those three guys to play the James White role.
- 48:53Speaker 1: I will be very happy if they get one of
- 48:55Speaker 1: those three guys and he catches sixty balls in a season. Awesome,
- 48:59Speaker 1: Like that's what I want from that. And then they
- 49:01Speaker 1: had a bowling ball back later, great like a film
- 49:03Speaker 1: offa But just give me one of those pass catching guys.
- 49:05Speaker 3: It's interesting because you know we're doing our big boards.
- 49:07Speaker 3: Douce and I do dueling big boards. And when I
- 49:10Speaker 3: started to do the running backs, I don't worry. I
- 49:12Speaker 3: put a lot of running backs on there. I know
- 49:13Speaker 3: they're gonna draft a running back. We all know it
- 49:17Speaker 3: because I put a lot of running backs on there.
- 49:19Speaker 3: And I just can't get mister Kraft out of my head.
- 49:22Speaker 3: Speedback right? Not not Damien Martinez.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Right, We're not going Davian Martinez would be fun.
- 49:28Speaker 3: We're not going power between the tackles here.
- 49:31Speaker 1: I even I won't. Why not both? You don't think
- 49:34Speaker 1: I think there's a real chance they draft two running backs, Yeah,
- 49:37Speaker 1: bigger Bowl high.
- 49:40Speaker 3: Like in the four to third fourth, like a Pierre
- 49:41Speaker 3: Strown Kevin Harris Reducks, but better.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I do you get because the past catching backs
- 49:46Speaker 1: are all later unless they want Simpson Samson. Yeah, the
- 49:48Speaker 1: pass catching backs all projected to go later. Yeah, I
- 49:51Speaker 1: mean get Damien Martinez are an allibordonate one oh six
- 49:54Speaker 1: or even maybe at seventy seven, or even Caleb Johnson
- 49:59Speaker 1: if he falls right at seven. He said, that's a fall,
- 50:00Speaker 1: but somebody's gonna Caleb.
- 50:02Speaker 3: Johnson is a little bit more of his own back
- 50:03Speaker 3: by here, and then.
- 50:05Speaker 1: You get that passing down back later. And now you
- 50:07Speaker 1: have if McDaniels is going to go back to splitting them.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Stevenson Rookie one is your early down, Gibson Rookie two
- 50:13Speaker 1: is you're passing down and your set like that's I
- 50:16Speaker 1: think that's if it were up to McDaniels. Not if
- 50:19Speaker 1: it were up to McDaniels, but like all other things aside,
- 50:22Speaker 1: if McDaniels could set the running back room up like that,
- 50:24Speaker 1: he'd be very happy. Now, there's other things you have
- 50:27Speaker 1: to do that may prevent you from doing that, but
- 50:29Speaker 1: I think that's what McDaniels would like to runningack room
- 50:31Speaker 1: to look like all.
- 50:31Speaker 3: Right, wide receiver, Day one, Day two, Day three again
- 50:35Speaker 3: at wide receiver. I'm just gonna take this opportunity to
- 50:37Speaker 3: do once again to say Travis Hunter is a wide
- 50:39Speaker 3: receiver like that, that's.
- 50:41Speaker 1: My I think that's clear.
- 50:42Speaker 3: That's my Day one guy, Travis Hunter, wide receiver. I
- 50:46Speaker 3: think one of the big things that has irked me
- 50:49Speaker 3: the most this draft season is hearing that Travis Hunter
- 50:53Speaker 3: is a raw route runner, Like this is just drive
- 50:56Speaker 3: me up a wall.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Show me a college receiver that isn't.
- 51:00Speaker 3: But it's different buckets, right, Like there's wide there's wide
- 51:04Speaker 3: receivers that win as technicians, yeah, and there's wide receivers
- 51:07Speaker 3: that win because they're built different, Like Travis Hunter is
- 51:10Speaker 3: in the built different category.
- 51:11Speaker 1: You know.
- 51:12Speaker 3: I think a lot of the things that you hear
- 51:13Speaker 3: about him and read about him as a wide receiver,
- 51:16Speaker 3: you know, they right remind me a lot of like
- 51:18Speaker 3: Molik Neighbors, Odell Beckham Junior like guys like that when
- 51:21Speaker 3: they were coming out that no, if you wanted to
- 51:24Speaker 3: put teach tape up of how to run a dig like,
- 51:27Speaker 3: they might not be the ones that you would put
- 51:29Speaker 3: up on the film, like maybe you'd go up and
- 51:31Speaker 3: get like a Ladd McConkey right to run a route
- 51:33Speaker 3: and show a sixth grader how to run an out
- 51:36Speaker 3: right Like that might not be your guy, but if
- 51:39Speaker 3: you want guys that have unreal place to be, great
- 51:42Speaker 3: ball skills, great ability to change directions in suddenness, a
- 51:46Speaker 3: gear changes, I think is a really underrated skill for
- 51:49Speaker 3: wide receivers or guys that can tempo routes and have
- 51:52Speaker 3: different gears that they can get to, because that can
- 51:54Speaker 3: really make corners uncomfortable. Travis Hunter does all of those
- 51:58Speaker 3: different things as a wide receiver, So I'm just excited
- 52:01Speaker 3: that that take is becoming more popular and becoming a
- 52:05Speaker 3: lot more of a head of steam, especially after his
- 52:07Speaker 3: pro day when he only ran routes and didn't do
- 52:09Speaker 3: any cornerback drills. So one last time, in my guys,
- 52:13Speaker 3: Travis Hunter is a wide receiver at the next level.
- 52:16Speaker 1: So Travis is like Genty, like Travis Hunter is Travis Hunter.
- 52:19Speaker 1: He's not like my guy because it would be like
- 52:21Speaker 1: Travis Hunter. So I'll go to talk about somebody You're
- 52:23Speaker 1: gonna put the TEP tape on teach tape on, I'll
- 52:26Speaker 1: go Matthew Golden. I'm to keep pounting the table for him.
- 52:28Speaker 1: I understand the production is not there compared to your
- 52:32Speaker 1: typical first round wide receiver. This is not your typical draft,
- 52:35Speaker 1: and I just think he showed up big in the
- 52:37Speaker 1: biggest games and I value that.
- 52:40Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a great route runner and he might be
- 52:43Speaker 3: in in the doughnut as a deuce, and I have
- 52:45Speaker 3: been calling it like right in between picks right four
- 52:48Speaker 3: and thirty eight. But if you had to come up
- 52:51Speaker 3: with the wide receiver for Josh McDaniels, like, Matthew Golden
- 52:56Speaker 3: is kind of that kind of guy because he's a
- 52:58Speaker 3: really good route runner and he's a smart round runner,
- 53:00Speaker 3: is very technically sound, but he still has a ceiling
- 53:03Speaker 3: to him because of his speed and the ball skills.
- 53:05Speaker 3: So I like Matthew.
- 53:07Speaker 1: Everybody likes very competitive, like he's I think he's wired right.
- 53:11Speaker 3: So on day two, yeah, I think we're both going
- 53:13Speaker 3: to say names that we both really liked. That we're
- 53:16Speaker 3: both in contention for my guy. For me, at least,
- 53:18Speaker 3: I won't speak for you.
- 53:19Speaker 1: One x one slot.
- 53:20Speaker 3: Uh No, I just had one Day two guy. Oh
- 53:23Speaker 3: maybe maybe you could say, but no, I just feel
- 53:26Speaker 3: like you're going to say a name and that I
- 53:28Speaker 3: I almost said, anyways, Jayalen Noel is my guys. Oh okay,
- 53:33Speaker 3: so maybe I'm surprised you.
- 53:34Speaker 1: Thought I was gonna sayway I did? All right, Well,
- 53:36Speaker 1: yeah those are the two.
- 53:37Speaker 3: Yeah, so it was between those two. Yeah, you know,
- 53:40Speaker 3: similar but different. You know, Jaylen Nowell I think is
- 53:43Speaker 3: a pure zer, pure slot receiver. But I just I
- 53:46Speaker 3: was blown away by his tape the first time through
- 53:48Speaker 3: that I watched it. I was not expecting that kind
- 53:51Speaker 3: of athlete or that kind of separator at the third
- 53:55Speaker 3: level of the defense. I thought that this was going
- 53:57Speaker 3: to be Lad mcconkee, reducs right, like a just a
- 54:00Speaker 3: good crafty wide receiver. That's good route runner, that's heady,
- 54:04Speaker 3: that's smart, that's tough. He is a lot of those things.
- 54:08Speaker 3: But this is a guy that has true vertical stretch,
- 54:10Speaker 3: like he has three level speed. He's very very fast.
- 54:13Speaker 3: He's a great athlete. Tested through the roof, I think
- 54:17Speaker 3: that took a lot of people by surprise. The you know,
- 54:19Speaker 3: aris score that he put up and all that kind
- 54:21Speaker 3: of stuff. He was fantastic throughout the whole process, great
- 54:25Speaker 3: Senior Bowl Week, great combine, great tape at o Iowa State,
- 54:29Speaker 3: his final season. The only knock on Jalen Noel is
- 54:34Speaker 3: that he's more of an inside guy, right, Like he's
- 54:36Speaker 3: probably not going to give you the outside reps full.
- 54:38Speaker 3: I still stick to Tyler Lockett as my com I
- 54:40Speaker 3: still feel like that's the speed slot com for him.
- 54:44Speaker 3: But I was close with Kyle Williams. I just wish
- 54:46Speaker 3: that I had gotten to him earlier and kind of
- 54:48Speaker 3: discovered him right to the hesitation that I had with
- 54:51Speaker 3: Kyle Williams. And this is probably unfair, and this probably
- 54:55Speaker 3: is just a was a me thing, not a himn thing.
- 54:57Speaker 3: I just didn't come away from Senior Bowl Week with
- 55:00Speaker 3: him circles like I didn't notice him as much as
- 55:03Speaker 3: I wanted to notice him. You know, I noticed with
- 55:06Speaker 3: strepbo for the wrong reasons, no offense. I noticed the
- 55:09Speaker 3: tow Iowa State guys for.
- 55:10Speaker 1: The right reasons.
- 55:11Speaker 3: I just felt like I never saw Kyle Williams.
- 55:13Speaker 1: I'll tell you why, because he was like the last
- 55:15Speaker 1: guy up on every rep. Maybe that was why you
- 55:17Speaker 1: were like mentally checking. I'm telling you, I bet that's
- 55:19Speaker 1: what it was. I bet that's what.
- 55:21Speaker 3: I don't remember Kyle Williams being there.
- 55:23Speaker 1: I'll beat you wouldn't know if you watched it on
- 55:25Speaker 1: TV that kept cutting away from him. Again.
- 55:27Speaker 3: I literally don't remember him being there.
- 55:29Speaker 1: The honest knocks on Kyle Williams. For me, as big
- 55:32Speaker 1: of a fan as I am, his an older prospect.
- 55:35Speaker 1: He's a late breakout guy. He has kind of four
- 55:38Speaker 1: years old right, twenty three years old. He was decent
- 55:40Speaker 1: in twenty twenty three. Last year was the year that
- 55:42Speaker 1: he really took off, and his numbers are insane. But
- 55:45Speaker 1: this is a guy that can get open at all
- 55:47Speaker 1: three levels, can create after the catch. He's probably a
- 55:50Speaker 1: little bit of a higher floor, lower ceiling player, but
- 55:52Speaker 1: I still think he's a decent ceiling. But I'll take
- 55:55Speaker 1: the high floor for this team at this point. But
- 55:56Speaker 1: with Noel like as much as I like Kyle Williams,
- 56:00Speaker 1: you give Josh McDaniels Jalen Nowell and you put him
- 56:05Speaker 1: in that Julian Edelman role with the pop he has
- 56:07Speaker 1: after the catch. I just think that this ceiling there
- 56:10Speaker 1: is tremendous. I really do. And I don't know if
- 56:12Speaker 1: this is a hot take at this point or not
- 56:14Speaker 1: specifically for the Patriots. I guess it could be different
- 56:16Speaker 1: for different teams. I'll take Jalen Noel over Jaydon Higgins
- 56:20Speaker 1: if they're debating between the Iowa State guys, Like Noel's
- 56:22Speaker 1: higher on my list for them than Higgins is.
- 56:24Speaker 3: So I have all three of these guys, you know
- 56:26Speaker 3: that you mentioned Higgs and Higgins, like in one tier,
- 56:30Speaker 3: I haven't Noel Higgins Kyle Williams, but like I have
- 56:34Speaker 3: Noel over Higgins, and I'm surprised that that's not a
- 56:37Speaker 3: more popular take. I just think Noel runs her out
- 56:40Speaker 3: so a lot more urgency and a lot more dynamic movement, right,
- 56:44Speaker 3: Like he's not an outside guy. Yeah, and maybe that's
- 56:46Speaker 3: why people just like the size outside with Jayden Higgins.
- 56:49Speaker 3: But Jayden Higgins does not play to a four four seven.
- 56:51Speaker 3: I'm sorry, he just doesn't. He doesn't play that fast.
- 56:54Speaker 3: And so you know, I thought he was gonna be
- 56:56Speaker 3: a mid four fives guy. I thought if he ran
- 56:58Speaker 3: a four or five to two, that was gonna be
- 56:59Speaker 3: a great time for him. He ran a four four
- 57:01Speaker 3: seven on a fast track. But I just I look
- 57:04Speaker 3: at these two guys with Williams and Noel, their route
- 57:07Speaker 3: running ability, their separation, it's different. I think Noel is
- 57:10Speaker 3: a technician. I think Williams is a pure separation.
- 57:12Speaker 1: Williams is that like he and he's not Travis Hunter.
- 57:15Speaker 1: But like what you were talking about before, he just
- 57:17Speaker 1: he it's not technical. He just gets open. Yeah, he
- 57:20Speaker 1: reads it, well, he moves well all of that. One
- 57:23Speaker 1: more day too, receiver before you move on. Yeah, now
- 57:25Speaker 1: that you've actually watched, because we've talked about the sky
- 57:27Speaker 1: a few times, but I don't think you had gotten
- 57:29Speaker 1: him yet, at least not in depth. Saving on Williams.
- 57:32Speaker 1: Where are you at with Savian?
- 57:33Speaker 3: I love Save On Williams. I watched him in the
- 57:36Speaker 3: in the first run. Interesting, I'm a big fan of
- 57:39Speaker 3: Saveon Williams. It's gonna take some creativity, it's gonna take
- 57:43Speaker 3: right the right fit in terms of the offensive coordinator
- 57:47Speaker 3: to get the most out of him. Like if the
- 57:49Speaker 3: forty nine ers took uh Save On Williams and turned
- 57:52Speaker 3: him into Deebo Samuel like, he would be a problem.
- 57:54Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, that's gotta be the comp absolute problem.
- 57:58Speaker 3: I think Cordell Patterson's a decent as well in terms
- 58:01Speaker 3: of that, but he's got a little bit more ball skills,
- 58:06Speaker 3: I would say, then Cordero Patterson did.
- 58:08Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 58:09Speaker 3: We were not into the draft yet with Patterson, but
- 58:13Speaker 3: from well that was eighteen, right, Well that I mean
- 58:15Speaker 3: when he was with the Patriots.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're right, yeah, why do I remember doing
- 58:18Speaker 1: a draft show about Cordero Patterson?
- 58:20Speaker 3: But Patterson I don't remember him having the contested catchability
- 58:25Speaker 3: and the stuff that save On Williams puts on tape.
- 58:29Speaker 3: But Cordero Patterson was probably a little bit faster in
- 58:31Speaker 3: a straight line than Savion Williams. But Williams got juice,
- 58:35Speaker 3: he's got size, he's got contested catchability. He's just not
- 58:39Speaker 3: a great route runner, and he's got a lot of
- 58:41Speaker 3: focus drops on tape. He's got way too many drops.
- 58:44Speaker 3: But he's a fun, fun player, you know, if you
- 58:46Speaker 3: have him in the right role, And maybe Josh McDaniels
- 58:49Speaker 3: remembers Cordial Patterson in twenty eighteen and can kind of
- 58:52Speaker 3: do the similar thing. I like Xavion Williams a lot.
- 58:55Speaker 3: It's just this specific type of player.
- 58:57Speaker 1: We might have to do early day three, late day
- 58:59Speaker 1: three for vers.
- 59:00Speaker 3: Okay, so, uh my late my day three guy, which
- 59:05Speaker 3: was kind of a joke and then kind of also serious.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Is it? Uh Thornton? Dante Thornton. No, it was close.
- 59:14Speaker 1: He was on the short list. I'm coming around on
- 59:16Speaker 1: Nante Thornton.
- 59:17Speaker 3: Okay, so let's do early day three and late so
- 59:19Speaker 3: we can get to that. Ted Johnson, I still believe.
- 59:24Speaker 3: I will not quit Tez Johnson, I will not quit.
- 59:28Speaker 1: I will not quit.
- 59:29Speaker 3: He's gonna. I think Dante Jordan Thornton is gonna get
- 59:32Speaker 3: drafted later, uh than than Tess. I still think Ted
- 59:35Speaker 3: is like a fourth round pick.
- 59:37Speaker 1: Uh.
- 59:37Speaker 3: He's quick, not fast. We've confirmed that. Yes, he's tiny,
- 59:41Speaker 3: I get that. Uh, he's quick, not fast. I still
- 59:44Speaker 3: feel like he's Tank Dell, and I still feel like
- 59:46Speaker 3: he is going to overcome all these doubts about him
- 59:50Speaker 3: and have a nice NFL career. What he's gonna happen
- 59:53Speaker 3: is exactly what's happened with Tank Dell. He's gonna get drafted,
- 59:56Speaker 3: he's gonna have it awesome, like first eight weeks of
- 59:58Speaker 3: his rookie season, and he's gonna tear every single ligament
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: in his knee and that's gonna be it.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: For him the end of the year. And that's a
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: good pick. No.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: I just think that he's a good football player and
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: if he.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Can stay healthy, good college football player.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: If he can stay healthy, and I know it's amazing
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: major if, but if he can stay healthy, I think
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: he's gonna be a good football player.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: My early day three guy, I could go to Dante
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Thornton kind of coming around. I think he'll go early
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: day three. To me, he's like one seventy five and up.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I have a good Dante Thornton Colm for you.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Okay, So, but we haven't talked a lot about this guy.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I thought we were gonna talk a lot about him
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: throughout the draft, and we really haven't. I'm still believe
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: in Tory Horton. Yeah, he got hurt this year. That
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: hurt his stock. He probably should have transferred out of
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Colorado State. I respect him for not doing it, but
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: he probably should have. He's a true X. He plays
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: with some pop, he's hyper competitive. He's worth a flyer.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: To me, he's worth a flyer. You know it. It
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Maybe one oh six is a little high, but maybe
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: with one of those one forty picks, if he's still
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: on the board, he'd probably need a trade and get
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: into like the one twenties one thirties. I like Tory.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: I'm not totally out on Tory Horton. I don't think
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: he's gonna be a top one hundred pick like he
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: was projected to be, nor should he. But I'm not
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: totally out on Tory Horton like some people are.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: I think, Okay, that's fair enough. Alright, let's get the
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: Dante Thorton who was on my list, Yeah, a short list.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: I think it was between him and Tes Johnson, but
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: I wanted to get the Tes Johnson, uh Shenanigans in there.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Dante Thorton is the Joe Milton of wide receivers.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: No, Savian Williams is the Joe No, I've made this comparison.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Williams an interesting player in the draft.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: Save On Williams is way more refined as a receiver
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: than Joe Milton.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: But he's the most interesting player in the draft. That's
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Dante Thorpon beside Travis Hunter. Is Joe Milton of wide receivers.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Explain it.
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: He has all of the tools, Like, if you wanted
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: to program a wide receiver in a lab, it would
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: be Dante Thornton. But he's not actually very good at football.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: All right, So this is that he's good at all
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: the individual things you need to be good at football.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: He's not good at football.
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: He's got legitimate breakaway speed, like not not like, oh,
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: he just runs a good forty breakaway speed. He has
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: a legitimate NFL you know, football speed play speed. He's
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: six foot four, two and five pounds. He's not Taekwon Thornton.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: He's not one hundred and eighty pounds soaking wet. He's
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: got size.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: He's got speed laterally better than Thornton can. Can he
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: get over them? No? All right, well that's a skill.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: But he My point is is that there's a ton
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: of raw talent with this player. He played at Tennessee,
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: so that also fits a little bit true. He has
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: a Waukee offense just like Joe Milton did at Tennessee.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: He runs like three routes. He runs a shallow, he
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: runs an in or it under or a slant, and
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: he runs a go like that's it. That's his entire route.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: Tree are slants and go balls in the in the occasion,
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: you know, a hitch route as well.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Yeah, right, so those are his four routes.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: But he takes a slant, you know, he takes a
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: five step slam, a glance route, skinny post and he
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: takes that thing eighty yards to the house when you
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: hit him in stride with it. And there's only so
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: many people on planet Earth can do that, just like
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: there's only so many people that can throw the ball
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: as far in as heard as Joe Milton. There's only
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: so many people that run as fast as as Dante Thornton.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Look if he can, if the plan is to bring
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: him in and have him be like tamere Bird, Nelson
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Agilor just running go routes on the side to keep
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: other teams honest, and you're getting him at like one
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: forty something in yeah, and we got it, not not
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: above me, get not above that. And I don't think
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: that he solves any long term issues at Receiver, but
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: for this year where they don't have a true X
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: and they don't have a lot of speed, you want
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: somebody to keep teams on again, Uh to mere Bird,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: that's the comp and de mere Bird was just kind
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: of out there to keep teams. He's much bigger, but
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: role wise wise, right, Nelson aguil Or that role and
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: he's doing it with more size and maybe run a
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: couple of rounds to him, fine in.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: Yeah, he that that. That's the take with Thornton though,
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: because I think a lot of people, first of all,
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: like I want to hang on.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: If they draft a tall, fast guy named Thornton, you
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: know what it takes. He's not saying they're right, but
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: you know what's gonna happen.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: He's Dante Smith from now on, because I don't want
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: to hear about the stupid thing about his last name.
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: But I'm just picked a generic last name because all
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: you people are making such a big deal out of
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: the fact that his last.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: Name is Thornton.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Again, Thornton's crazy. He's like twenty five pounds heavier than
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: Taekwan Thornton.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Like, he's like, look, you're not wrong, they're different players,
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: but it's gonna be objectively funny.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: He to me is like late round fire DK metcalf Right,
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Like he's He's obviously not DK.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Meckis just twitched up, big.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: Fast, big explosives outside of Joe Milton comp I don't
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: hate Oh no, it's he's it's still saving Williams. No,
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: it's definitely not all right. Let's get the tight ends.
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: Ago Wall late late day three Okay, I thought we're
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: doing Dante Thorton.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Oh no, that was like in the middle. No. I
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: have one more guy that's not getting talked about enough. Okay,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: and I've talked about a lot on Patriots pet I
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: haven't talked a lot about him. Here, Isaac Taslot from Arkansas.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: Yeah, he's getting some buddy.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: So another guy, big six four two twelve, great straight
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: line speed, excellent job tracking the ball. Sounds like an
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: X right. Yeah, he almost exclusively plays the slot, so
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: you're gonna have to teach him to do some more
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: things underneath. But he's good down the field, he brings
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: good speed, he's great on special teams. This is again
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: a late later pick, one of those one seventy picks. Right,
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: if you can develop his underneath game, you're talking about
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: a guy who profiles profiles. Now the mental side of it.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: This other guy had in leaps and bounds, so that
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: would have to catch up profiles like a faster Jakobe Myers.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: There's gonna be some work for him to get there,
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: but that's kind of what the path would be for
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: me for Isaac to sloth. And he's gonna be really
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: good on special teams. I got a com Okay, Andre
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Yoshivas with the Bengals. I think he's faster, but that's
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: not a bad comp Yeah, that's what I saw. I
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: think he's maybe I'm underrating how fast Yoshavas.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: Is, but yeah, Yoshavas is like a big slot that
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: can stretch the field vertically up the seam. You know,
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: he's not going to run by people on the outside,
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: but he has enough juice to do it inside.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: That was that was sort of what I saw. Uh
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: with Tesla, I think you're right though, he's he's picking
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: up some steaks, and.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: You know what if you get that guy and he
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: ends up in the one seventies and he ends up
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: being your third wide receiver. Again, this isn't the guy
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: that's going to solve all their wide receiver problems. Yeah,
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: I'm just looking up. So Yoshavas he has sixt three
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: two O five. He ran a four to fourth He
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: ran a four to fourth three. Okay, reduce to slot.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: Literally ran a four to four three? Did you pull
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: that off? Off? Mock draftable? I mean, you know, did
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: you I do? I did? Okay, I do my homework, Yeah,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: you did? I do my homework. Six three two five
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: versus six four two fourteen for uh tesla.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: Okay, yep, there's your comp All right, let's get to
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: the phones and then we'll come back to the rest
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: of the positions because we still got a little ways
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: to go, and these people have been waiting online for
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: on hold, I should say for a while. Patty is
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: an agu on what's up?
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: Patty?
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: What is gentlemen?
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: So how we doing?
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: I'm doing good? So I just want to I just
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: want to make it clear, like I'm on record thinking
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: that Hunter and Carter are gonna be gone by the
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: time we pick, and I'm all in on Will Campbell
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: if that's gonna be the pick at for if we
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: can't move down. Actually, I don't like the I don't
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: like the thought of moving down because I think we
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: might miss out and I don't mind Jalen Walker, like
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: if we do move down and miss Will Campbell. But
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: I just wanted to read you guys a couple just
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: a couple of things real quick. And this is from
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: why It Brooks sec Scout. The tape shows that technically
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: or fine blocker who's ready to start from day one
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: at tackle, not not guard tackle, and like at the
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: end of his breakdown, and I got this at NFL
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: draft blows dot com. So the very the very last
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: paragraph he rights after studying the film, moving Campbell inside
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: would be a mistake. Despite this, shorter arms, the exceptional technique,
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: recovery ability, demand a shot at tackle. And I know
- 1:08:03Speaker 5: that's just one man's opinion, and we're kind of getting
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: you know, some people that are sitting on the fence.
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: And then you got guys like Daniel Jeremiah who says, yeah,
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: plant tackle. The short arms don't like really pose a
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: threat or like a concern to me. And really before, Evan,
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: you said this weeks ago, a couple of weeks ago,
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: and you brought it up last week too, Like there's
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: never been a discussion about wingspan until this year. You know,
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: this prospect why why, you know, why is the big picture?
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: I'm not seeing it?
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: You know, why why is all this craft coming out now?
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: And you know, I think if we get him Noel,
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: I've you know, I've said this on PU Evan, Noel's
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: my guy. I want him in the second round. If
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: we can get those two guys and possibly Mason Taylor
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: on day on day two, I'll walk away from this
- 1:08:54Speaker 5: draft a happy man, that is, with the caveat of
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: Hunter and Carter gone. And last night I want to
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: touch on Alex Yep little Quick none, your co host
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: on PEB. If he ever starts his own podcast, I
- 1:09:10Speaker 5: think he should call it Hindsight or Patriots hind Site.
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: That's it, is that, Brian?
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Yeah? Nice? Nice? Uh?
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: I think, uh, you know, the Carter thing with wingspan
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: or Campbell so many names.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: The Campbell thing with wingspan is brought up because it's
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: such an outlier, right Like if it wasn't such a
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: major outlier, you know of mock draft, uh, mock draftible
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: had another tackle that was in the same you know,
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: stratosphere as him in terms of our of wingspan, then
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: we wouldn't be talking about it as much.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: But it is.
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: And I think that the number one thing that I
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: keep coming back to with Will Campbell, I've been you know,
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: pretty consistent other than the stupid combine, I've been pretty
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: consistent about about about him playing at tackle and sticking
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: at tackle. And I think the one thing that I
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: would just say about it is that is he going
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: to be Jonathan Ogden? Is he going to be Orlando Pace?
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: No?
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: No, he's not going to be one of those types
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: of guys. But what, in my opinion, he's going to
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: be is a very solid NFL left tackle for the
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: future for a long term. And in this draft, in
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: this level of talent class, that's a good.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Pick, and that's a good pick at that.
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: Position because he is, uh, you know, a comp that
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: I came up with recently I liked a little bit better,
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: you know, like a Jake Matthews type. Jake Matthews is
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: not a future Hall of Famer, he's not a ever
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: been like a multi time All Pro or anything like that.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: But he's been a quality starter for like a decade
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: in Atlanta and the Falcons have not thought twice about
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: left tackle since the day that they drafted him, And that,
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: to me is is all you're looking for in this
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: kind of draft, and I think that Will Campbell can
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: be that.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: At that position where there's there's not enough think about
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: it this way, there's not enough human beings on the
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: planet needed to fully staff the NFL for left tackle. Yeah,
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: they're just aren't. So if you get a guy that
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: can do it for eight to ten years at least,
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: who is of that level, maybe not above it, but
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: of that level, that's a win in this draft especially,
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: that's a win. I told Nate Solder Matt Light like,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: just guys that you're not gonna talk about replacing them.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: He's there, he's good. Set it and forget it. You
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: move on. You can build the rest of the team.
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: It's been seven years they've trying to been trying to
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: find a guy to play there. They have a guy,
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: and they did before, but they have a guy now too.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: They really need to protect. Yeah, it's yeah, just get them,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Just just get them and we can stop work about this.
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: So I've been looking around for a comfort for Campbell
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: for a while.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: It's Jake Matthews.
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: It is Jake Matthews. Is what I'm settled on. And
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: I'll pull up the number because Jake Matthews. It wasn't
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: quite Will Campbell short in terms of wingspan, but his
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: wingspan was also under under eighty inches, right, So he
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: was on the shorter side in terms of wingspan, on
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: the shorter side in terms of armlane. He's been in
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: the league for eleven years, he's made one Pro Bowl.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: So this is not this is not Jonathan Ogden, right, like,
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: this is not Joe Thomas. This is not an all
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: time great player at the position. But again, for eleven years,
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: the Atlanta Falcons have not thought about who's our left tackle. Right,
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: they know who their left tackle is. And if that's
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: what Will Campbell ends up being, then I'm perfectly fine
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: with that. I said earlier that you know, something that's
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: irking me is with Travis Hunter and the rawness and
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: the unpolished receiver label that he's getting. Something that is
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: irking me right now about the Will Campbell discourse is well,
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: he's not Jonathan Ogden or Joe Thomas, and you don't
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: you know that's what you want if you're drafting at four.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: Cool, if that guy was in the raft, I'll tell
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: you to take him right.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: It was great to want things right. That's not the
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: talent pool that we're working with. It's irrelevant that he's
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: not that kind of pross just as a hole across
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: the board like, well he's not.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: And you hear it with him, You hear it with
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: with Keat McMillan, you hear it with Mason Graham. You
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: hear what the lot he said. If he's not really
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: what you want at the fourth overall pick, Yeah, if
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Malik Neighbors was in this draft, I'd be pounding the
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: table for them to take him it for right, I
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: would that guy doesn't exist. If you can trade down, great,
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: but if you can't. Once again, you can't just tell
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: Roger Goodell Pencilson for next year, right, we're gonna we're
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: gonna pass, We're gonna take up. But you can't. You
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: got it. You can only pick from the players who
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: are available. Right. That's and yeah, it sucks that that
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: they're picking high in a crucial year and a year
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: where the draft isn't great. That sucks. You can't. It's
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: not mad and where you can go load in another
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: draft file. This is what it is.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: I don't really understand that reference, but mad for it.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: Like, you can upload custom draft, but you can either
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: have it generate one for you, or you can upload
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: custom ones. So some people if they're doing a franchise
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: and like the custom draft isn't good, you can have it.
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: You can either upload one somebody made or just have
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: it create a new one. You obviously can't do that.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: So you can just say you can. You can create
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: a new one that has like all ninety.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: Nine if you want or won this year lady. But yeah,
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: but then what's the fun in it? All? Right?
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: Kendall is in North Carolina? What's up, Kendall?
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: Hey, how you guys doing good?
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Hey?
- 1:14:12Speaker 6: Yes, just but both of y' all want to know
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: what's y'all good feeling right now? I'll have the first
- 1:14:18Speaker 6: three picks to go. And my second question is we
- 1:14:21Speaker 6: visit with a wide receiver today from Auburn. I got
- 1:14:24Speaker 6: his name or y'all familiar with it, and I'll take
- 1:14:26Speaker 6: it up there. I appreciate it.
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: Thanks for the call, Kendall. My gut feeling right now
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: on one two three. Ward Carter Hunter same, that's my
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: gut feeling. I don't totally buy into, you know, the
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: thing we spent the first twenty minutes of the show
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: talking about with Abdual Carter falling in this draft. I
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: don't totally buy into that totally yet. If it's not
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: Ward Carter Hunter LB, Ward Hunter Carter, I think those
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: three guys are the first three picks in the draft.
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: I do not think the Browns are the Giants. Are
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: anny get duped by drafting quarterback, you know, with Shador
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: I think at this point everybody says people get silly
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: with quarterbacks, you know, they use Pennix and bo Nick's
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: going higher than expected last year. I almost think at
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: this point that the Browns and the Giants need to
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: look They feel like they might look sparterer by passing
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: on Shadore than taking Shador because if they take Shadoor,
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: everybody's gonna be It's gonna be Daniel Jones right like
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: it's on draft night. Everybody's gonna be like, what are
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: this is a bad pick?
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: Like what are you doing?
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: They might end up being right in three years, but
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: like Brian Dable and Joe Shane aren't gonna be there
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: in three years to be right about it, like they're
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: gonna be out. So I just wonder if maybe, you know,
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: they end up just passing. There's a lot of buzz
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: right now on those two teams, specifically, you know, doing
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: their homework on Jackson Dart, doing their homework on Jalen Milrow,
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: doing their homework on Will Howard. You know, those guys
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: are all been in thirty visits in all those places too,
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: And I wonder if they're one or both of those
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: teams is gonna say, let's just get the guy at
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: the top of the second around. You know, let's try
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: Will Levis Right. It doesn't worked out, but it's a
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: you're thrown a dart and let's just try something else,
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: all right.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Also, the guy they met with projected late day three
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: picks fast guy from Auburn.
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: I mean there's a lot, there's a lot of that.
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: Remember Anthony Schwartz.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: Oh you you were big on Anthony Schwartz.
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: Sast guy from Auburn. Yeah, all right, Brad is in Ohio.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: It's up, Brad.
- 1:16:24Speaker 7: Hey you doing guys? Hey talk.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: A couple of quick days. I want to run by
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: the players, and he looked into them.
- 1:16:36Speaker 8: I'll just spit some out.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: First of all, the cornerback cast and found three ms
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: birk and then a defensive tax was getting west from
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: Indiana and then running back my first pick. He's I've
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: gotten slower running backs like John from Iowa just because
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: I watched him play, and I would like hand junk
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: and from you from the state and tell me he's gonna.
- 1:17:11Speaker 9: Be a.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: Brad.
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: I got sorry there, Brad, if you want to email us.
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: In the names, I heard some of them. I think
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: he was mentioned Denzel Burke from all.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: So Denzel Burke's really interesting one.
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: Yeah, he's kind of one of those guys that kind
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: of reminded me of like Sean Wade's career arc right
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: where there was a lot of hype for him and
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: then he didn't have the year that the people were
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: expecting last year. The only thing that I you know,
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: I I did watch him, and the only thing that
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: I had a little bit of concerns about was was
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: top end speed, Like, I don't know if he's Yeah,
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: I don't know if he's quite the fastest guy on
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: the outside.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: I had a lot of penalties too.
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think that might have been because of that,
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: you know, him grabbing and him getting a little bit antsy.
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: But uh, he he's well versed in different coverages, certainly
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: seen a lot of really good competition over the years.
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: He's kind of a solid guy. I just wouldn't necessarily
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: say that he's got a highest ceiling. He's probably more
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: of a floor.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: So I think it's the opposite. He's one of these
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: guys like Bill would have drafted him. Bill absolutely, because
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: one of the things that Patriots would do on Day three,
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: they drafted a couple guys like this. They would go
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: find and this Honestly, this kind of player is gonna
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: sort of become extinct in the draft because of the
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: transfer portal. They would go find the guys that were
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: high ranked recruits where it didn't work out in college
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: for one reason or another and see if they could
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: tap into that. Denzel Burke was a four star recruit
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: ninety one composite graded at twenty four to seven, and
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: he had a really good first couple of years and
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: he was supposed to be like a first round pick,
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: and then in the last year and a half it
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: kind of fell off and he had a really bad
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: year last year. So he's a guy to me you
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: take kind of banking on or looking to, all, right, well,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: what went wrong last year and is it something we
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: can fix and can we get him back on track
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: to where he was supposed to be. I don't know
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: how very Bolt necessarily feels about those players. Like I'm
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: not saying he's off the Patriots board, Yeah, I don't.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: It's more a thing where like if it was Bill,
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: I think it's he's somebody we would have talked about
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: a lot more. But he's a really interesting one. Yeah,
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: because he he was I think he was a projected
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: first round pick a year ago.
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: I feel like you just you just described Sean Waite
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: like that, like like Sean Wade was really similar to me.
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: I also had who was the defensive lineman from Auburn
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: who he went to Florida State and they just ruined him.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: And then hear No from Maryland. He transferred around to
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: Byron Coward. Byron Coward was the number one recruit in
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: the country, and he forget the order was a Maryland
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: he was at Florida State, he was at Auburn, but
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: like it just the schools he was at did not
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: know how to use him. They turn him from a
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: stand up edge rusher into a nose tackle and Bill
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: drafted him and it was just like, well, let's see
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: what's there. Yeah, So Denzel Burk's not as extreme of
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: the case. I think Coward was the number one recruit
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: in the country, but it's it's a similar sort of thing.
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: Do you remember when Bill dunked on me about Byron Cower? No,
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: I still I still remember that to this day. I
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: forget these are there's certain like little things that happened
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: to me when when I got you know, belichicked early
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: on in my my beat career, and that one like
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: it kind of sticks with you, right, like you kind
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: of remember these things. I misspoke and I said that
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: Coward was like a run player when he was a
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: pass player, or a pass player when he was a
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: run player. It just like I obviously got my my
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: wires crossed, and.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: Bill just roasted me. Bill was just like I think.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: I said, like, you know, you guys have talked about
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: him being this and it was totally off. And Bill
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: was like, I talked about that, Like.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: I remember that.
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: I didn't say that. Yeah, oh god, was I embarrassed
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: to work. I thought they might have had something.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: I those types of things stick with you, all right
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: before we get back to the phone. So let let's
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: try to finish up my guys, because we we we
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: got bobbed down there a little bit with some of these.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: Coward is still in the league. Good for him. He's
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: on the Jets.
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like he'll kick it.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: Still hanging around.
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: So we're at tight end, quarterback, running back, receiver, Day one,
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: Day two, Day three, tight ends. Day one tight End.
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: I put down Colson Lovelan. I just I love Colson
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: Lovelyn's tape. I think that it's a risk, sample size risk.
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: You know, he got injured, he doesn't have a ton
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: of volume to stats. But you watch the tape man
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: and he's the closest thing to Brock Bauers in this draft,
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: like in terms of explosiveness and dynamic route running ability
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: and just a real uh he just plays at a
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: different speed and other people really pops off the tape
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: like that. You know, Tyler Warren's more well rounded. He is,
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: you know, more productive in college, a little bit of
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: a cleaner prospect, a cleaner evaluation, which is why I
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: assume he'll go ahead of Loveland. The Patriots are not
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: in a position to risk it on a guy like Loveland.
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: So that's why I don't even think I'm gonna have
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: him in my top fifty because of that. But I
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: think that he's going to be a good NFL player.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: I just don't know if you're you have that margin for.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: So I'm gonna do kind of what you did with
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: the running backs. Call it top forty, maybe not first round. Yeah,
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: I'm seeing Mason Taylor projected in the sixties. What are
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: we doing. I think he's gonna go much higher than
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: people think. I don't know that he sneaks into the
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: first round. Does he sneak into the top forty, I
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: could see it. He's clearly the third best tight end
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: in this draft. Copycat league. People are gonna want their
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: their brock Bowers and stylistically is a different player, but
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: just that rookie upstart tight end. And we talked about this,
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: I think last week. Part of what made brock Bauer
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: is so impressive was tight end is generally a longer
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: developing position. There's so few tight ends that are impact
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: players as rookies. Mason Taylor's young, but he's so polished
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: for his age. It really stands out that I think
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: he's a guy that can come in and contribute year one.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: If you're mocking Mason Taylor to the Patriots at sixty nine,
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: I think you're kidding yourself. He's a top fifty pick
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: to me at least, and I think he might even
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: sneak up higher than that.
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: Young too, right like twenty right now, he'll be twenty
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: one as a rookie.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: Early breakout ton of runway to go.
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: Yeah, really high upside player, really fast and straight line
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: and you know, stretch the field vertically and horizontally. You know,
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: slide routes, you know, dumpops in the flat, he can
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: turn those into big plays. I think he's got some
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: route running, you know, technique stuff that he's got to
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: work on to be able to win a little bit
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: more on angular routes. You know, I don't think he's
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: gonna you see a ton of like, you know, real angles,
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: you know, slants, digs, you know that type of stuff
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: with it on his tape. But once he gets to
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: that point, maybe you know, he kind of excels at
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: that a little bit more. I just I look at
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: him right now, I see a little bit of Tucker Craft,
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: Like I see that you know, straight line speed and
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: the gimmicky speed on the scheme touches and things like that.
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: But I think that he has a ceiling that's much higher,
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: like maybe even like a Sam Laporta like level ceiling
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: once he gets into the league. I'm with you on
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: Mason Taylor. My day two guy other than Taylor, who
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: I think you know will be early day two. I
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: really like Terrence Ferguson from Oregon. I just feel like
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: he didn't really get a chance to show off all
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: the things that he can do down the field. He
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: was kind of there their dump off security blanket, like,
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: you know, kinda near the line of scrimmage kind of
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: guy doesn't have a high average depth of target, you know,
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: find some soft spots over the middle, you know that
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: sort of thing. But I think there's some untapped potential
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: there in terms of running seams and verticals, and he'll
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: maybe do that a little bit more at the other level,
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: at the next level the other guy, because I like
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: both of them kind of equally. Gunner Helm, Like, I
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: think gunner Helm is being slept on. He should not, right,
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: he ran that forty and like throw the forty out
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: like it doesn't exist, Like it is irrelevant that on
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: a you know, a torn ankle, he ran a bad forty,
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: Like it doesn't matter, you know, it doesn't. It's not
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: going to impact his NFL stays. He reminds me of
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: Hunter Henry a lot, Like I think that, yeah, I
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: have really similar players. I just think that he's gonna
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: be a quarterback's best friend. He's gonna find the soft
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: spots over the middle of the field. He's gonna be
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: quarterback friendly. He's gonna have great hands, he's gonna have
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: great reliability, he's gonna be able to block. You know,
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: I don't think he's going to be a great blocker,
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: but he'll be a solid, you know, adequate NFL blocker
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: in line. If I had to pick anybody out of
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: this class on day two, I think it would be
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: Gunner Helm.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Those are my two guys kind of in that
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: range and not as high on Fannin for the Patriots.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Arroyo is like fine, doesn't again not necessarily a Patriots
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: fit for me. Yeah, Day three though, there's some interesting ones.
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: All right, give me your day three.
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: Okay, So my guy for day three is Mitchell Evans. Yeah.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: I think he's gonna come in be the best blocking
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: tight end right away, and he has the upside to
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: be a plus receiver, but you have a year or
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: two to kind of get him there. Behind certainly behind
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: Austin Hooper is the second tight end, and then you
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: hope eventually he takes over for Hunter Henry as your
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: starting tight end. So I've kind of been on Mitchell
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: Evans for a while. I think he's a good fit
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: for them. I also, because we're doing tight ends slash fullbacks,
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: I got to bring up robbi Oots here. I really
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: want him to bring in Robbie Oots kind of hybrid
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: between I've settled on my com for him. He's halfway
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: between Kyle used Check and Patrick McCard.
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: You can never just give a comp like just give
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: a straight comp. But he's not.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: He's not as athletic as you used chat and he's
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: not as big as a card.
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: He's like somewhere in the middle. So who's that wrong? No,
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: but there's a guy on the Chargers.
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: Oh, well, Matt Locke. He also doesn't play defense.
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: He's like three hundred pounds.
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: He might be able to say. I think he's bigger too.
- 1:26:15Speaker 3: There's another guy though. I look up the Chargers in
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: the second there's it. They have Matt Locke, but they
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: have another guy too, who's like the same kind of guy,
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: because like the Hardbuzz have to have like seventeen of
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: the same kind of Yeah, I feel I feel like
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: maybe that's your Robbie utz Khan.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: But I want I want Robbiots on the Patriots. Okay,
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: so help me with his last name? No idea who
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: McCallan Castles? No? Uh?
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: Is it CJ.
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: Dipp I think it's Drippy. I think Drippy from Alabama?
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: Uh, just looking late Day three, you know, six seventh
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: round guy. But if you want a blocking tight end,
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: like just a guy that's gonna be able to come
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: in and be a third tight end and block really
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: well in line. Uh CJ Depri was the most impressive guy.
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: I saw him more than Jackson Hawes.
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: I really like to pre Hawse. I think has a
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: little bit more of a receiving upside, and it's probably
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: gonna go a little earlier, it would be my guest.
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: But if you're really looking for, like this is a
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: we know what he's gonna be. He's just gonna come
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: in and block on red zone and goal line and
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: short yarded situations, being a third tight end in the
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: league for a long time because he's a great blocker.
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: I think Dupre's here's a comp for you.
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: It's simple compa Lee Smith. Sure you remember Lee Smith?
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: Yeah, Lea Smith. He was the the only tight end
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: the Patriots drafted between Rob Gronky. They drafted Gronk and Hernandez.
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: The next year they drafted Lee Smith, and they didn't
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: drafted tight end for like ten years until they double
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: dipped in whatever year that was. Did you get a
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: chance to watch Roonda Gadson.
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: No, I got to do all the rest of the
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: tight ends. That's that's my I'm still curious thought.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: That's one of my last bails to go into the bar,
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: is it. See? I just go in order. I go
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: in like I call it alphabetical order. It's not alphabetical order,
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: but like the order that positions have always been listed
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: in since at the beginning of time.
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: I try to go in order of the draft board.
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: So because of all the content that we do surrounding
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: the draft, like knowing the top one hundred is really
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: what I got I need.
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: To be able to ace, yeah, in.
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: Terms of the draft. So I literally go through our
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: the mock draft database. I put the consensus board up
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: at each position, and anybody that's in the top one hundred,
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: I just watch all ten of those go okay, and
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: then I watched the next ten, and the next ten
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: and the next I just do.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: I guess it's because like I kind of figure out
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: the top one hundred guys just watching college football in
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: the fall. So yeah, I'll go just position by position.
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: All right, Uh, did you do tackle in into your up?
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: So I did tackleing into your offensive line? So day
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: one tackle is Will Campbell. Like I it's I've been
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: on Will Campbell since the beginning. I know that I
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: got a little flaky there for a second, but I've
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: been on Will Campbell since the beginning. I'm not going
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: to come off it now. If the Patriots draft Will
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: Campbell in two weeks, I will not be upset. I'll
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: be happy. I'll feel good about it. I will think
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: they gotta left tackle, so Will Campbell. You know, I
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: don't have to go too deep into it. We've been
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: over Will Campbell a thousand times. But if I have
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: to pick a my guy on day one at tackled
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: I can't. I gotta go with Will Campbell.
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I wish I had his middle name to hammer
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: the point home. I don't. I was just looking. I
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: can't find it. William Campbell sounds like a general all right.
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: Day two, Day two. So I still don't think Ariante
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: Airstory's gonna fallah. I don't so when I say this,
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: not including Ariante Airstory in his group. It's Ozzy Trapilla.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: We have the same because he's he's swing tackle potential.
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: Long term, he could be your starting right. I don't
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: think he's gonna start on the left side in the NFL,
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: But if you need him to pitch in there for
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: a game or two, I think he can. But I
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: think ideally he's your swing tackle this year, and then
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: next year it's him Kane Wallace battling it out for
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: the right or whenever Morgan Moses moves on year, two
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: years whatever. So obviously not I'm excited for Morgano's but
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: he's obviously not a young guy. Yeah, one of those
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: two guys becomes your starting right time big oz.
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: I think Ozzy Trapla is going to be a starting
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: right tw tackle in the NFL, not before long. I
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: think he's better than Cayden Wallace in terms of a prospect.
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: You know, Cadan Wallas barely played last year. So like
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: right now, if I had to take a bet on
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: who would be a starting right tackle in the NFL,
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: Caiden Wallace or Ozzie Trapillo, I'm taking Azzy but all day,
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: and I just think he's really technically savvy, really good
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: hand fighter. He's got great size at the position, great
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: length at the position. I just feel like he's a
- 1:30:25Speaker 3: very good prospect all around. Like I really feel very
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: strongly about Trapillo being a good NFL player.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: He's probably right tackle.
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: I would agree with that he maybe can play swing
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: tackle early on in his career as the backup, your
- 1:30:38Speaker 3: third tackle, swing tackle, whatever you want to call it.
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: Maybe you let that happen for a year. You know,
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: he develops underneath Morgan Moses for a year, year and
- 1:30:47Speaker 3: a half, or whatever the case may be. As long
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: as Moses can can go, you know, you let him go.
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: I think there's gonna be opportunities. Although Moses has been
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: really really durable, durable, it's not been perfect. You know,
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: he's missed some games, you know.
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: Not the last couple of years. Yeah, it's never.
- 1:31:03Speaker 3: It's never been major, like he's missing an entire season
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: or half a season.
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: You might need a game or two, might need a
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: game or two.
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: I think Trapillo could get some chances to play as
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: a rookie that way, and I would take him on
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: Day two of the draft them or probably in the
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: double dip. You know, it would be ideal. My question
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: is is like how long can you wait on Trapillo?
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: Like I think thirty eight is a little bit high,
- 1:31:23Speaker 3: but I think sixty nine is really you're starting to
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: talk about you gotta take them.
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: I think it's sixty ninety be a good pick. I've
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: said this like, I strongly believe that any players they
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: take in the top one hundred, they need those guys
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: to play this year, and they need those guys to
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: contribute this year. The one exception I have to that
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: rule for me, it's not there role. It's my rule.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: I guess rule isn't the right word. The one exception
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: I have to that take for me is if they
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: draft a right tackle to be in the pipeline to
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: replace Morgan Moses. And I came up with that take
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: basically around Ozy Tripillo. YEA, maybe they end up doing
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: it with somebody else, maybe it's Anthony Belton, maybe it's
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: Cameron Williams. But like that's why I have that that
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: it's like a carve out for Ozzie Trapillo. That is
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: the one guy I think I'd be comfortable with him
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: taking the top one hundred who's not playing a significant
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: role in twenty twenty five.
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: Agreed day three.
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: So I think everybody expects me to say haul in
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: Pierce because that's my kind of guy. He's huge, he's massive,
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: he's not necessarily great at football, but he hasn't he
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: can't teach size. I'm actually gonna go away from that.
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: I wouldn't hate Hall and Pierce, don't get me wrong.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: I just think Carson Vincent's getting slept on. Yeah. Now,
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: he probably isn't a right tackle, and for a guy
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: going that low, he's projected later day three, you kind
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: of want some positional versatility, So he's an outlier there.
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: I think he might be able to play some guard,
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: which helps. But I think he's got he has the
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: size and the sense that he's tall and long. I
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: think he's only like three hundred and ten pounds, but
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: he is. He can add to his frame like he
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: can get up to three twenty I think relatively easily,
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: and it won't impact him that much. Five year starter
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: at Alabama A and M played well at the Senior Bowl,
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: held his own against that higher level of competition, and
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: he's just I think he's got the mentality down. It
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: looks like a smart football player. Definitely plays with a
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: lot of nastiness. He's older, he's coming from a smaller school.
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: He doesn't have that positional versatility. I think that's why
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: he's gonna go where he's going to go. But in
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: a double dip because they might want a backup left
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: tackle too if they're not sold on uh Vederian Lowe's
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: the backup definitely. I think can be a backup left
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: tackle in the NFL, and then you see just kind
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: of what happens with him down the road. But a
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: good backup left tackle is not nothing. And if you
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: can get that guy, I certainly think you can get
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: him at the one seventies. You might even be able
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: to get him with that two twenty pick, depending on
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: how it goes. You get a backup left tackle there, great, awesome,
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: solid pick. Yeah.
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: I really liked him at the Seapral.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: Everybody did.
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: I mean he had that one spotlight drill in the
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: middle of the field. Who did he go up against?
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: It was a top one hundred rusher? Was Umin me
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: Ellen or was it one of the text I think
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: it's one of text Amain Stewart.
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: It was an SEC guy.
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: Yeah if shut him down, Yeah, yeah, you won the REP.
- 1:33:57Speaker 3: So I do like him a little bit. I really
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: like Jealen Rivers from Miami to another Senior Bowl guy
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: that I thought stood ute. He could play, probably play
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: inside as well, you know, played a little bit of
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: both at Miami. It's weird the like com almost went
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: like drive to drive with it at times where he
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: played left tackle and left guard, and he would just
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: kind of flip flop in and out, which was interesting.
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: Uh So I think that long term, you know, he
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: could play guard and be your starting left guard. I
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: think you could also have him play you know, swing tackle,
- 1:34:25Speaker 3: backup left tackle, that sort of thing as well. I
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: just like his game. You know, big, big dude, good size,
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: really good length. He has like thirty five inch arms
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: and then a short tackle class at the Combine. He
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: was like the one guy that measured in with long arm.
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: He mentioned with thirty five of the combine. They're probably
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: closer like thirty eight.
- 1:34:42Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got freaking tree trunks. And I just think
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: he's a big dude, moves people, great length, a little
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: bit of positional versatility. I just think those are the
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: types of guys that the league needs. You know, every
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: team needs that kind of guy that has the functional
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: strength the as your bulls in versatility. Like, yeah, he
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: might not be you know, he's not going to go
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: to you know, any all pro teams or Pro Bowls,
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: but those types of linemen can be really valuable.
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on Holland Pierce. I just need
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: that real quick.
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: He's a raw ball clay. He's a big raw ball clay.
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: I feel the same way, almost similar with him as
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: I do with Anthony Belton. Like I think Anthony Belton
- 1:35:21Speaker 3: is kind of three. Yeah, Anthony Belton, I feel like
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: is getting a really hyped up in the in like
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: the media boards and stuff like that for a guy
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: that's got a long way to go and past.
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: My ceiling cam for him is Trent Brown.
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: That's he's got a lot of He's he's raw. He's raw.
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: Anthony Belton. I'm surprised by how much Anthony you know,
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: Belton buzz there is.
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that's usually the guy that I like that nobody
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: else likes. And I'm wondering why he's not ranked higher.
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: Now I'm like almost suspicious that everybody likes him, Like, yeah,
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: this is supposed to be my guy.
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: All right, So we have a you have any guards
- 1:35:52Speaker 3: or slash centers?
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I have some interior guys, all right.
- 1:35:55Speaker 3: Day one grays Abel. I think Gray's Abel is going
- 1:35:58Speaker 3: to be Joe Toney to point. Oh, I think he's
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: going to be a really good football player. He's gonna
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: play guard. I think he's gonna play left guard.
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: I think Bruger Adam is a center and the Beast today.
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: Okay, so there's some center flex there. Yeah, and he
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: did some center stuff at the comm at the Senior Bowl.
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: Excuse me, but I think that guard's a little bit
- 1:36:17Speaker 3: more valuable. I think he can play left guard at
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: a really high level. He's going to pass protect at
- 1:36:20Speaker 3: a really high level at that spot, be extremely athletic
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: at that spot as well. But either interior spot, left
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: guard or center, I could see grays Abel excelling at
- 1:36:32Speaker 3: and I think there's a lot of value in that.
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: Do you have any day one, guys.
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna again approaching this from a Patriots point
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: of view. Yeah, and we I think we talked a
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: little bit about this last week. You know, we've talked
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: about tackle, trade up, receiver, receiver, trade up tackle, what
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: about just hammering the offensive line? And some of this
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: take too is I think grays Abel might go too
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: high for them to do this. Yeah, and I know
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: he's a right guard. I would love to see them
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: Will Campbell trade up Tyler Booker. Yeah, that whole offensive
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: line Campbell Booker, I guess, question Mark, but we you
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: know you think you're at Bradberry, mike O and Lenu
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: Morgan moses that that is a mean offensive line. You
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: are gonna hate your life as a defensive linemen playing
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: against those guys for sixty minutes. And yeah, it leads
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: them short change in some other spots. But I think
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: Booker team captain at Alabama, tone setter. You know, played
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: a couple he'll be a guard in the NFL, but
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: he played some left guard for them, even played a
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: little tackle for them. But just again, a guy that
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: sets the tone for the Alabama offensive line and didn't
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: understand that not just his past year. You bring that
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: guy in, you put him next to Will Campbell. Holy Molly,
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: you're gonna have a lot of fun on the left
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: side of the offensive line. I don't know that it's
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: like my ultimate favorite thing that they would do, but
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: I would like sneaky love that. Oh I'd love it too.
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: I've come around, not I never needed to.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: If they did it was able, i'd be cool with
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: it too. But I really like Tyler Booker.
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: I didn't need to be sold on Tyler Booker, but
- 1:37:57Speaker 3: I just didn't think he was gonna be there, but
- 1:37:58Speaker 3: after the Combine and the fact the intestary.
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: With DoD Combine. But I don't care like with.
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: He's an interior offensive line right. But at the same time,
- 1:38:07Speaker 3: you know, you know how teams are, and now Gray
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: Zabel might go ahead of him because he had a
- 1:38:11Speaker 3: better pre draft process than Tyler Booker. Teams might overthink
- 1:38:15Speaker 3: Tyler book Yeah, and I don't think it's totally out
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: of the question that a quote unquote unathletic guard falls
- 1:38:23Speaker 3: to thirty.
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: I even think of thirty eight. See, so I look
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: at it. The Seahawks are at what eighteen, right, Yeah,
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: and then the Texans are at twenty five. Those are
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: two clear guard teams. Yeah, so I could see them
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: both going in the first round. But yeah, if Tyler
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: Booker is there a thirty eight, you don't have to
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: trade up for him, all the better.
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: So Seattle not Seattle tends to be uh in love
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: with with the with the numbers, with the measurables. Casario
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: and Houston makes a lot of sense, like Booker.
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it'sable at eighteen, I think is what I have
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: in my last Monksable at eighteen Booker in twenty five.
- 1:38:53Speaker 3: They won't overthink Booker, like they won't overthink the combine
- 1:38:56Speaker 3: and all that kind of stuff. You put Tyler Booker
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: and Josh McDaniel's gap scheme like a downhill run Scham, Yeah,
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: that's where happens.
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: One.
- 1:39:05Speaker 3: I think that's the other thing with Booker. You know,
- 1:39:06Speaker 3: there's so many uh you know, Kyle Shanahan inspired on
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: outside zone teams. He's not an outside zone's offensive. He's
- 1:39:13Speaker 3: a he's a gap downhill. Get him on a double team,
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: have him pull, you know, like that's what he does.
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: Imagine the Tyler Brook Booker White one on ones in camp.
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: I just I think it's great too. Just the fit
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: because Bradberry is a smaller center. Yeah, he's undersized, and
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: he's you know, his play strength is a big concern.
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: Or even if you're gonna try Cold Strange, there also applies.
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: Right, So if you put Booker in on when WU
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: on either side of Garrett Bradberry or Cold Strange, like
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: you give them some some girth next to them, that
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: might help the center, you know, be able to handle
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: power a little bit better and be able to hold
- 1:39:52Speaker 3: the middle of the pocket a little bit better. If
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: he's got to just boulders on either side of him,
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: that would make the most sense. It's what kind of
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: why I've I've been a little bit back in on
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: city so lately lately, just because I feel like he's
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: a big guard too, you know, kind of can do
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: the same sort of thing. But with Tyler Booker, yeah,
- 1:40:09Speaker 3: you know, if he's there, if he falls for all
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: these combine, you know, athletic profile concerns, I could definitely
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: see that. Day two I had Wyatt Milam. I think
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: Wyatt Milems is getting slept on because he's probably gonna
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: move inside at the next level. But I think he's
- 1:40:28Speaker 3: gonna be a very very good guard in the NFL.
- 1:40:31Speaker 3: I don't see a real path for him.
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: You don't think city center. I think he's be center.
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: He's a little tall to be a center, but it's possible.
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: Team seem to be less bothered by that now and
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: they used to.
- 1:40:39Speaker 3: I just love moving these guys to guard, like I
- 1:40:42Speaker 3: feel like guard is a There's still a ton of
- 1:40:45Speaker 3: value in pass blocking at guard because you have all
- 1:40:47Speaker 3: these interior defensive linemen that rushed the pass or at
- 1:40:50Speaker 3: a high level, like if you go up against you know,
- 1:40:53Speaker 3: Quentin Williams twice a year and Ed Oliver twice a year.
- 1:40:56Speaker 3: And you know, I'll go on down the line of
- 1:40:58Speaker 3: all the guys in the AFC that you're gonna maybe
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: put potentially see if you're the Patriots, like you have
- 1:41:04Speaker 3: to have guys on the interior that can pass block.
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: You just do.
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: And I think whyatt Milam is gonna be a really
- 1:41:09Speaker 3: good one. Like he's a power oriented player. His game
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: definitely fits a lot better in a phone booth. But
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: he's gonna play really well at guard in the league.
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: And he's gonna have a little bit of tackle feet
- 1:41:18Speaker 3: and tackle, you know, just experience blocking people that I
- 1:41:24Speaker 3: think is going to help him a lot in pass protection.
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: I don't have any doubts that guys like Zabel and
- 1:41:29Speaker 3: Mylam are going to follow in the footsteps of you know,
- 1:41:32Speaker 3: Tooney and Sheriff and Martin and all those guys that
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: transitioned inside from being college left tackles. I think all
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: those guys are gonna check those boxes if you want
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: to throw, you know, Donovan Jackson.
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: So that was gonna be my guy again. If they're
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: gonna do the tackle guard boom boom, at the top.
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: Donovan Jackson, I like, yeah, my day two centers obviously,
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: Jared Wilson, I've been very high on him. Limited sample size,
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: but smart player, athletic player, little similar to David Andrews
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: now David Andrews obviously didn't get drafted, but maybe the
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: league learned something the last times. A little bit bigger,
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: but it's a little bit bigger, but he's still undersized
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: size there quotes the center and the other guy gotta
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: mention her. On Day two Marcus Mabou, who got hosed
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: by the combine, going from thirty three and an eighth
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: in charms all the way down to thirty two. He
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: is a tackle, but he'll probably move. He's played both perdue.
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: He can probably right tackle guard, flex right tackle guard. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: he uh. He wouldn't be a bad pick for the Patriots.
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: He's got some of the most bizarre hand fighting I've
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: ever seen. Like he's like literally like the karate kid,
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: but it works like he gets it done. But like
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: he is, he's like wax on wax off. Like you know,
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: most times you want those stiff hands, like inside hands.
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: This guy's like doing all sorts of like mister Miagi
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: stuff and it somehow gets the job done.
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: It's it's fun to watch, like.
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: It's it's a little different, like when you're going through
- 1:42:44Speaker 3: all these tackles. Then you get to him and you're like, oh,
- 1:42:46Speaker 3: this is cool.
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: This is a little fun. Thirty three and Charms. Don't
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: forget it all right?
- 1:42:50Speaker 3: Uh day three, Big deal and fairchild guy from Georgia.
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: A pure left guard right He played left guard at
- 1:42:56Speaker 3: Georgia and he's gonna play left guard in the NFL.
- 1:43:00Speaker 3: You were high upside high school wrestler, like all world
- 1:43:03Speaker 3: high school wrestler, and you can see that. You know,
- 1:43:05Speaker 3: he knows how to grapple, he knows how to leverage,
- 1:43:08Speaker 3: he knows how to win with body positioning, can get
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: underneath guys. Very versatile blocker, just in terms of all
- 1:43:13Speaker 3: the different things you can ask him to do. He
- 1:43:15Speaker 3: can zone block, he can gap block, he can double team,
- 1:43:17Speaker 3: he can pull, he can get up to the second level.
- 1:43:20Speaker 3: He's really versatile in that way. Even though he's not
- 1:43:24Speaker 3: positional flex necessarily, he's versatile within the scheme, which I
- 1:43:28Speaker 3: think is really important. High level mover, high level pass protector.
- 1:43:33Speaker 3: He's gonna he he just screams, Josh McDaniel's guard to me, like,
- 1:43:37Speaker 3: I just feel like that when they look at left
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: guard specifically, like Touney's obviously like the pinnacle of what
- 1:43:42Speaker 3: they want in the left guard. But I think that
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: fair Child's kind of in that same mold and I
- 1:43:48Speaker 3: like him a lot. And then obviously, you know you
- 1:43:49Speaker 3: got to mention Drew Kendall. You know you gotta talk.
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: Well, there's a lot of good Day three centers Drew Kendall.
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: Jake Majors is a very Josh McDaniels sort of center,
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: very cerebral player. Eth McLoughlin would be really interesting coming
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: off that injury. The guy all mention those center guard
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: is Clay Webb from Jacksonville State. So he was a
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: five star recruit. I believe he's like a high rank recruit.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: Went to Georgia for a couple of years, wasn't playing
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: it as a center. He was a recruited highly as
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: a center, transferred to Jacksonville State, moved to guard, played
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: it well, went to the Senior Bowl, played it well.
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: A lot of people think he's going to move back
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: to center in the NFL. I'm certainly not ruling that out.
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: I just wouldn't sleep on him as a guard either.
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: Little undersize, but kind of fits more for that McDaniels thing.
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: And he's projected to go late, so that could be
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: kind of like we talked about Denzil Burke, another one
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: of these guys that all right now, I think he
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: played at a higher level than Burke. He's just at
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: a less valuable position. That's why he's lower. But it's like,
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: all right, he was highly tauted out of high school.
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: Why didn't work out in college? And is it something
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: we can work around and get him back to being
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: the player he was projected to be? Fair enough? All right?
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: So that's my guys. There's a lot of them in there,
- 1:44:57Speaker 3: but I think you know, those are the guys, uh,
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: you know, on offense, and next week we'll do defense.
- 1:45:02Speaker 3: Let's wrap up the show, get back to the phones,
- 1:45:05Speaker 3: and then we have a ton of emails. I'll try
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: to go through those as fast as we can as well.
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: But Aldrid, our good friend is in North Carolina. What's up, Eldred?
- 1:45:15Speaker 4: Hey, how y'all doing?
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: Hey?
- 1:45:17Speaker 7: Hey, I'm about the receivers. I'm glad y'all talked about
- 1:45:21Speaker 7: my guy do a Doordan, yep, and ever and you're right,
- 1:45:24Speaker 7: you got those three routes, but he beats man Fress
- 1:45:28Speaker 7: only we can do the stay field over the top.
- 1:45:31Speaker 7: But my question is we ain't never developed receive it
- 1:45:34Speaker 7: no matter what coaching cre we have. Do you think
- 1:45:37Speaker 7: they can develop one this year?
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: I mean, I believe it's kind of one of those
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: things where like I got to see it, right, Yeah,
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: I gotta see it. You know, Todd Downing's background is
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: and quarterbacks, and he kind of talked about this last
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: week that like he'll have them ready and knowing the
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: playbook and all of that, But when it comes to
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: the footwork and the technique, that's where where we're gonna
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: see what they can do with some of these guys.
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: That's right. I think you hope maybe Stephan Diggs helps
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: out a little bit. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:46:04Speaker 7: And the other thing is they're hosting that that that
- 1:46:08Speaker 7: cornerback I talked about last time. He supposed to be coming
- 1:46:11Speaker 7: to New England like I think today or tomorrow. I
- 1:46:15Speaker 7: got his name, but he's six to two run at
- 1:46:17Speaker 7: four to three forty and I think he objected to
- 1:46:20Speaker 7: go in the third or the fourth round. And I
- 1:46:22Speaker 7: think he's meeting with us today, Ali from I got
- 1:46:27Speaker 7: I think it's I think his last name is Thornton too.
- 1:46:29Speaker 4: But he's but that girl Ali from Chatsport.
- 1:46:33Speaker 7: She was mentioned missioned yesterday that people have been meeting
- 1:46:36Speaker 7: today with the Patriot.
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: He got a thirty visits.
- 1:46:39Speaker 7: But he's go later in the round though. But there
- 1:46:43Speaker 7: you go, Corey Thorton, Okay.
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: You go.
- 1:46:46Speaker 7: I couldn't think of this guy. I couldn't think of
- 1:46:47Speaker 7: his name.
- 1:46:48Speaker 4: But uh uh, his background coach, he's the one that
- 1:46:53Speaker 4: did Chambers Ward and with Chikov and he got good.
- 1:46:57Speaker 7: Corners and a good corner coach. But him and I
- 1:47:01Speaker 7: hope we don't sleep on but he's out.
- 1:47:04Speaker 4: And how did you? Thank you?
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: Thanks Elder, thanks for the call as always. And yeah, Eldred,
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: uh you know Alex was was first to Kyle Williams.
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: Elder was first to Dante Thorton. He's been on Dante
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: Thornton for a while, so props Eldred. You nailed that one.
- 1:47:20Speaker 3: Well we'll see if he's a good football player in
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: the NFL. But you nailed the draft stock going up?
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: Who's did you do? You know? Anythink? I don't know,
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: it's not about Corey Thorton.
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, Uh, Alex is in DC. What's up Alex?
- 1:47:32Speaker 8: Hey guys, thanks for taking the call.
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: No problem.
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:47:37Speaker 8: So, yesterday Batards set on his podcast citing a scouting
- 1:47:41Speaker 8: report by Bob McGinn of The Athletic that of Duel
- 1:47:44Speaker 8: Carter has some character concerns that he's a bit of
- 1:47:47Speaker 8: an a whole high maintenance, isn't a hard worker. Have
- 1:47:51Speaker 8: you heard anything about this? Do you have any concerns
- 1:47:53Speaker 8: around Carter? And do you give any weight to what
- 1:47:55Speaker 8: mcginnon says since he's the same guy that said barmore
- 1:47:57Speaker 8: head character concern.
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: Thanks for the call, Alex.
- 1:48:00Speaker 3: Yeah, we actually talked about this exact thing at the
- 1:48:02Speaker 3: top of the show, So I don't want to go
- 1:48:04Speaker 3: too long on it, but you can go back and
- 1:48:06Speaker 3: listen to some of that. You know, we we talked
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: to in depth about it. You know, I don't have
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: much more.
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: To add to that, so now I just say go
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: back to the top of the show.
- 1:48:14Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, all right, let's get into some of these emails.
- 1:48:17Speaker 3: We have a ton of them. I am a little
- 1:48:19Speaker 3: disappointed in the listeners though, and I'll get to that.
- 1:48:22Speaker 3: And here in a second, stopping me to the listener. No, no,
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: I'm not being mean to them. I'm just a little
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: disappointed that there's no emails about our are I'll get
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: to it in a second, but just a couple of questions.
- 1:48:32Speaker 3: It's sort of about the tackles. And I think one
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: of the things that's going around right now is just
- 1:48:36Speaker 3: like how confident are we that you know, a Connerly
- 1:48:39Speaker 3: or an nursery or even a Simmons is going to
- 1:48:42Speaker 3: be there for them at thirty eight? And you know,
- 1:48:46Speaker 3: is there a risk there? And I think the answer
- 1:48:48Speaker 3: is there's always a risk that just like last year,
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: they're not able to orchestrate a trade out, they missed
- 1:48:55Speaker 3: the run, and they missed the run.
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it's and I think we're going to see a
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: similar run this year because there's still that shortage of
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: tackles and that shortage alignment. No I'm not caught. Maybe
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: one of them gets there. You're certainly not gonna have
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: your choice. Maybe one of them gets there. And honestly,
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: if Simmons is the one that falls, and they'll know
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: what internally like externally, I worry that the medicals aren't good. Yeah,
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: if Simmons is the only one that falls. I look
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: at that and say, his knees is not in great shape. Yeah,
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: So I'm not confident that they're gonna get one of
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: those guys at thirty eight. If it's not Campbell or
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: Membu or Banks at the top of the draft. They
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: have to be moving up. They have to be moving up. Yeah.
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: And look, I like we say all the time with trades,
- 1:49:32Speaker 3: and I've been kind of pounding the table about how
- 1:49:35Speaker 3: hard it might be to trade back in this draft
- 1:49:37Speaker 3: before trade it takes two to trade tango with the trade,
- 1:49:41Speaker 3: but I think it's worse a team to trade out
- 1:49:43Speaker 3: with you, Right, I should.
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: Be able to trade up because every everybody wants to
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: trade down. This is what we're talking about. A Ford.
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: Nobody wants to trade up. Everybody wants to trade down.
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: If you're trying to trade up, you should be in
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: good shape. Uh.
- 1:49:53Speaker 3: This is a good question from Ashton in Canada. He
- 1:49:56Speaker 3: writes in about Jaden Higgins and Ted McMillan. This is
- 1:49:59Speaker 3: something that we've talked to a little bit that like
- 1:50:01Speaker 3: Ted McMillan is kind of Day one and Jayden Higgins
- 1:50:03Speaker 3: is sort of the early Day two X in this draft.
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: And he was just asking, you know, if we felt
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: like there's a chance that Jaden Higgins is a better
- 1:50:11Speaker 3: pro than Ted McMillan, and like, kind of whatever, the
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: you know, who is better at what in certain areas.
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: I think the biggest thing to me that maybe separates
- 1:50:21Speaker 3: McMillan a little bit is the yards after the catch.
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I don't necessarily.
- 1:50:24Speaker 3: See that speed or that ability and that fluidity after
- 1:50:27Speaker 3: the catch that McMillan has out of Higgins, and I
- 1:50:30Speaker 3: think that that might elevate his ceiling. But in terms
- 1:50:33Speaker 3: of what they do in their routes, in the way
- 1:50:37Speaker 3: that they play, in the way that they win, the
- 1:50:39Speaker 3: fact that both of them are probably going to have
- 1:50:41Speaker 3: to play a little bit in the slot to get
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: some vertical stretch out of them, I think they play
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: very similarly. I think they're kind of comparable in a
- 1:50:49Speaker 3: lot of ways. I just would give Tet the edge
- 1:50:52Speaker 3: just because of the yards after the catch ability.
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: I think his ball skills are also a little bit better.
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: I mean, they're both good in that regard, but that's
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: why Yet's projector goes high as he has got unbelievable balls.
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: Yeah that's fair, all right, you want to play a
- 1:51:02Speaker 3: quick would you rather game?
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: Oh boy, here we go. Yeah one.
- 1:51:06Speaker 3: Have the Patriots trade back the fourth page to trade
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: back up in the or trade back up in the
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: first round. So would you rather trade back from four
- 1:51:14Speaker 3: or trade up from thirty eight?
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: Up from thirty eight?
- 1:51:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm with you. I'm up from thirty eight as well.
- 1:51:20Speaker 3: Have Giodd Campbell or Walter Nolan fall to thirty eight?
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: Oh? John Campbell, Yeah that's not even close.
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Walter noan.
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: I like Walter Nolan, but like John Campbell in Rabel's defense,
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: would be unbelievable.
- 1:51:32Speaker 3: They have, they have the three technique, they have Milton Williams.
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's part. I don't think they need another.
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: I feel like that was disrespectful to Walter Nolan the
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: way I reacted, But like, I like Walter Nolan, but
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: like John Campbell is so freaking good.
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: I didn't spend a ton of time on Walter Nolan
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: just because of where he's gonna go and and the
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: fact that the Patriots Simon.
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: Milton will see him plenty when he's in Buffalo.
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: I thought he was a little streaky, like it's a
- 1:51:53Speaker 3: little hot and cold on the tape, for me personally.
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: You know, there's moments where you're like, wow, like there
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: it is, and but then there's like stretches of games
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: where he kind of just was there like and just
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: kind of running into the line of scrimmage.
- 1:52:05Speaker 1: You want my defensive tackle take, Yeah, Kenneth Grant's the
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: second best defensive tackle in the draft. And I think
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: Kenneth Grant projected first round pick. I still think people
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: are sleeping on him.
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: Good athlete, yeah, Jalen Walker Mason Graham at four.
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: I'm going jail Walker Walker.
- 1:52:20Speaker 3: Yeah, Jalen Walker, more versatile, better.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: Player, fits a need better Yeah, Jalen Walker.
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: Have Gray's Abel or Marian Hampton fall to thirty eight?
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: Ooh, that's a good one. Hmmm.
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: I'm going Hampton.
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm siding with the quarterback on this one. You
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: can get a guard later on. I'm going Hampton.
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: It's a little bit more value even at running back.
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going Hampton. That's a close one though, Yeah,
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: I could be. I could be. There's an argument for Zabel.
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: That's a good question.
- 1:52:45Speaker 3: Okay, so this is this is more open ended, but
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: what player with the first round grade are you predicting
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: the fall what player with.
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: The first round gride? I gotta like pull up the
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: list real quick. Hang on, I don't know if I
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: thought of something similar. Say what you're gonna say that
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: I thought of something similar.
- 1:53:03Speaker 3: I don't know if everybody's gonna call I technically feel
- 1:53:06Speaker 3: that he's a first round grade kind of guy. But
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: Luther Burden falling out of the first round, Luther Bird.
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: Would be one very likely. Mike Green would be another. Yeah,
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: So what I was thinking is kind of I'll say
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: I had Mike Green at like twenty eight. I think
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: my last mock, so I'll say Mason Graham's are going
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: to go in the first but every mock right now
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: has him like six is his floor. I think you
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: get down like nine or ten. Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me.
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: Here's what I was gonna say. I was thinking about
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: this week. I was gonna write something about it later on,
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: but I'll test it here. What is this year's Michael
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: Pennock's pick? And what I mean by that is what
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: is the pick that nobody is talking about that happens
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: in the first round. That's a good one. I'd have
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: to think about that.
- 1:53:51Speaker 3: I mean, I had to trade on Henderson thing earlier,
- 1:53:53Speaker 3: Like I feel like that could happen. Yeah, but I
- 1:53:56Speaker 3: don't know if that's like quite on Michael Pennock's level.
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: It's more r nabs, right, but just completely out of nowhere.
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: I think Milroe in the first round would be kind
- 1:54:07Speaker 3: of a stunner. Now he's invited to the draft, so
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: obviously there's there's some ruzz that he might go in
- 1:54:13Speaker 3: the first round, but that, to me, I think would
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: be a little bit of a stunner, like where he
- 1:54:17Speaker 3: was at the end of the college football season, Like
- 1:54:19Speaker 3: he's made that much ground up, you know, in the
- 1:54:22Speaker 3: pre draft process, and now all of a sudden he
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: goes in the first round.
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: I'd be pretty stunned about that. Yeah, So I was
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: gonna say, like Millroe going like top twenty, Yeah, and
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: maybe it's a trade up. But yeah, the other oh,
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: the other one I had it. I put this in
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: my last mock. I don't think I'm alone in this.
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: I've seen a couple other people do it, but like
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: Matthew Golden of the Steelers. Yeah, so he plays the
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: inside with Pickens and Metcalf on the outside, and then
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: Pickens on expiring contract, like it and this is this
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: was this takes under the assumption that they finally signed Rogers,
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: but like it's a lot of wide receiver in one offseason.
- 1:54:58Speaker 3: But all right, speaking of receivers, then I have my
- 1:55:02Speaker 3: little thing I want to get you here at the end.
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: Will Wrights in and mentions that there just haven't been
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: a ton of buzz about Patriots thirty visits with wide
- 1:55:10Speaker 3: receivers specifically, I think Jalen Noel.
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: Or Noel Yeah, I got that.
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: I think he's maybe been reported now that he's.
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: Come in and posted himself in the bill.
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: Right, all right, but we haven't. We haven't seen you know,
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: Golden Murden, McMillan and Will just ask like, do they
- 1:55:29Speaker 3: always draft based off the thirty visits?
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: No, definitely not pretty rare. Ac Yeah, I think all
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: visits thirty combined Senior Bowl? Was it last year they
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: like for their picks? Yeah, before that, I think it
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: was two.
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: It's very it's a it's a low percentage. There's a
- 1:55:43Speaker 3: lot of intel information gathering that goes on at these
- 1:55:47Speaker 3: types of things that isn't anything beyond just doing your
- 1:55:50Speaker 3: due diligence on players. I'd also mentioned with the thirty visits. Uh,
- 1:55:55Speaker 3: you're just getting what's leaked, so you don't know. We
- 1:55:58Speaker 3: don't know all thirty guys.
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: Ta Thornton was one we didn't known till after the
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: draft we met with them.
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: I remember also, you know, Christian Gonzales, like they sent
- 1:56:07Speaker 3: at the time Drawd Mayo out to like personally spend
- 1:56:11Speaker 3: like a weekend with Christian Gonzales in Oregon, uh, before
- 1:56:15Speaker 3: the draft, and nobody knew about it, you know, and
- 1:56:17Speaker 3: nobody knew about it till afterwards. So I would just
- 1:56:20Speaker 3: caution that, you know, don't overreact to the thirty visits. Yeah,
- 1:56:23Speaker 3: all right, last thing here, you and I got got
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: put on blast a little bit on social Like we
- 1:56:29Speaker 3: got put on blast a little bit. I think it's
- 1:56:31Speaker 3: I think, yeah, I think we should do it. We
- 1:56:33Speaker 3: got put on blast a little bit because we Uh,
- 1:56:35Speaker 3: it was a class A felony that you and I
- 1:56:37Speaker 3: said that we would not take a trade down with
- 1:56:40Speaker 3: the Saints going from four for nine and forty and
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: we both said we wouldn't do it. It doesn't feel like
- 1:56:46Speaker 3: enough to me. It still doesn't feel like enough to me.
- 1:56:49Speaker 3: But my main takeaway with this is one, you know,
- 1:56:53Speaker 3: like it kind of caused a little bit of a
- 1:56:55Speaker 3: start for no reason over like a take content on
- 1:56:59Speaker 3: a podcast like Let's calm down. Second of all, if
- 1:57:04Speaker 3: the Saints are gonna trade up with the Patriots just
- 1:57:06Speaker 3: becoming a popular take.
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: Which is banks on the idea that they want Sanders.
- 1:57:10Speaker 3: Yeah, which banked on the idea that they want Sanders,
- 1:57:14Speaker 3: then that means that the fourth overall pick is going
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: to be Shador Sanders. So you are now selling the
- 1:57:19Speaker 3: fourth overall pick for a quarterback, which in my opinion
- 1:57:23Speaker 3: changes the value of the trade.
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: Yes, right, not your opinion, that's generally how it's done. Yeah.
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: So if it's Shador Sanders going at four, and that's
- 1:57:32Speaker 3: who's gonna go at four, that means if the Raiders
- 1:57:34Speaker 3: want you door Sanders, if the Saints want you door Sanders, Steelers,
- 1:57:38Speaker 3: if the Steelers want you door Sanders, if any of
- 1:57:40Speaker 3: these teams wants you to door Sanders, then they need
- 1:57:43Speaker 3: to get up to pick four to get Shador Sanders,
- 1:57:45Speaker 3: which just inherently will increase the mark.
- 1:57:47Speaker 1: As a quarterback tacks.
- 1:57:48Speaker 3: It's a quarterback tax. And so when I heard that
- 1:57:52Speaker 3: trade proposal, it didn't feel like enough, and I still
- 1:57:55Speaker 3: don't feel like it feels like enough. I want to
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: trade down if you can. If Harder and Hunter aren't there,
- 1:58:01Speaker 3: I would trade down, But I'm not trading down just
- 1:58:03Speaker 3: to trade down.
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: It's gotta be worth while.
- 1:58:06Speaker 3: It's gotta be worthwhile, And just the last thing I'll
- 1:58:08Speaker 3: say on it, I would be pretty disappointed if the
- 1:58:13Speaker 3: Patriots came out of this draft without one of Carter, Hunter,
- 1:58:19Speaker 3: Campbell or Membu.
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: Like I'll put Jalen Walker in there.
- 1:58:22Speaker 3: I feel like all four of those guys. To me,
- 1:58:24Speaker 3: I want one of those four guys in the first round. Now,
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: if you can still get that guy by trading down,
- 1:58:29Speaker 3: then I get that there's a ton of value.
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: I'm not super confident that all four of those guys
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: make it tonight, and I'll put Walker in there. But
- 1:58:36Speaker 1: I think for the grading it as a whole, they're
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: all similar. But for the Patriots, specifically Ted McMillan, Mason Graham, Taler,
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: Warre and those guys are a step back. So and
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: I think that's just what it comes down to. Like,
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: and some people put it in the replies to that video,
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: like I'm just a little less confident in some of
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: those guys falling, and it doesn't mean I wouldn't do.
- 1:58:53Speaker 1: He just have to make it worth the while. Like
- 1:58:56Speaker 1: borish friend of the show put in, like he added
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: another trade, and I think Patriots are giving up like
- 1:59:00Speaker 1: a fifth or six or something, but another top one hundred. Okay,
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: if I'm getting three top one hundred picks back, I'm
- 1:59:06Speaker 1: more interested what I would really like to see if
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: they were going to make that trade. So we use
- 1:59:11Speaker 1: the same basis four for nine and forty. If I'm
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: the Patriots, the first thing I'm asking for on top
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: of that is a future top one hundred pick early second.
- 1:59:20Speaker 1: You're not going to get a first, You're just not
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: Can you get a future second. I might even take
- 1:59:24Speaker 1: a future third because the idea is, all right, I'm
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: moving down this year, give me the ammunition to move
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: back up next year in a better draft. I think
- 1:59:33Speaker 1: I've talked about a little bit on this show. I've
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: talked about it on other shows. The mathematics of the
- 1:59:39Speaker 1: future picks and trades in this draft specifically is going
- 1:59:43Speaker 1: to be fascinating. They're going to be worth less or
- 1:59:46Speaker 1: they're going to be worth more in this draft because
- 1:59:48Speaker 1: our team's going to be willing to borrow from future
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: better drafts to improve their standing in this one. So
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: and on the flip side, they're more valuable to acquire.
- 1:59:58Speaker 1: So if I'm the Patriots, not moving back, I want
- 2:00:01Speaker 1: a future for I want a future pick. I want
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: a future pick. So okay, I'm gonna move back this year.
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: Next year when it's better class, I want more top
- 2:00:08Speaker 1: one hundred ammunition so I can move back up the board.
- 2:00:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I would just be really careful. This is a
- 2:00:14Speaker 3: draft to me with the Patriots, they have to nail
- 2:00:17Speaker 3: their first round pick.
- 2:00:18Speaker 1: They have any draft, but yeah.
- 2:00:20Speaker 3: But they but this is a big draft for them.
- 2:00:22Speaker 3: It's a big draft, and I have to nail that pick.
- 2:00:25Speaker 3: I wouldn't get cute with it.
- 2:00:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you on that.
- 2:00:27Speaker 3: And all of a sudden, when you start trading down,
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: I'm not saying don't trade down if the trade down
- 2:00:31Speaker 3: is there, and it's the value is there for the pick,
- 2:00:34Speaker 3: but we're not bit don't trade down just to trade down. Yeah,
- 2:00:38Speaker 3: because you're gonna put yourself into a position in a
- 2:00:40Speaker 3: weaker top of the draft that you might not nail
- 2:00:44Speaker 3: the pick.
- 2:00:44Speaker 1: If you believe in a guy, take them, if it's like, well,
- 2:00:47Speaker 1: you know, I feel more comfortable at nine than four,
- 2:00:49Speaker 1: then you don't really believe in the player, right, And
- 2:00:51Speaker 1: if you don't believe in any of the players truly,
- 2:00:53Speaker 1: which you might not in this draft, and that's Hunter
- 2:00:55Speaker 1: and Carter off the board obviously, then like, yeah, just
- 2:00:59Speaker 1: by defaul, you have to believe in one more than
- 2:01:01Speaker 1: the rest. So just that's the guy.
- 2:01:04Speaker 3: I just I keep coming back to the same thing
- 2:01:07Speaker 3: with them. You have to be careful about the fact
- 2:01:12Speaker 3: that this is a you gotta be able to get
- 2:01:15Speaker 3: on base with this pick. Yeah, And I just I'm
- 2:01:18Speaker 3: not jones in to just give away the pilk and.
- 2:01:21Speaker 1: That's it to be fair. In twenty twenty three, they
- 2:01:24Speaker 1: knew the board, they knew they can move down three
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: spots and still get Christian Zales, and we gave them
- 2:01:28Speaker 1: a ton of praise for that. Yeah, if you know,
- 2:01:30Speaker 1: if you read the board, and you know, and this
- 2:01:32Speaker 1: is including teams that might trade up, and like Miami's
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: lurking there at thirteen. They're a trade up team for
- 2:01:37Speaker 1: a tackle. They worry me. The Bears are a trade
- 2:01:40Speaker 1: up team for an offensive lineman. Certainly the Colts might
- 2:01:43Speaker 1: be too. Like if you know, all right, one of
- 2:01:46Speaker 1: these guys is gonna get to nine if you read
- 2:01:48Speaker 1: the board like, yeah, go for it. I just don't
- 2:01:50Speaker 1: feel super confident that again that group, if Carter Hunter
- 2:01:54Speaker 1: are there, you're not trading, so they're relevant. Yeah, Campbell,
- 2:01:58Speaker 1: Membo and Walker. I'll put Walker in a group. I
- 2:02:01Speaker 1: know you didn't. I will. And maybe you're okay ending
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: up with Kelvin Banks, I guess, But like you're if
- 2:02:07Speaker 1: you're not super confident in those guys falling, you get
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: nervous about a trade like that.
- 2:02:12Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, all right. So that does it for today.
- 2:02:16Speaker 3: We'll be back next week. We're gonna do my guys
