- 0:15Speaker 1: Listen man, if you're one of these Mets fans who
- 0:19Speaker 1: feel like it's disrespectful to the current players or you're
- 0:25Speaker 1: not an actual Mets fan if you're a person who
- 0:30Speaker 1: who was cheering for Pete Alonzo, who was chanting Fire Stearns.
- 0:37Speaker 2: If you're one of those people that.
- 0:38Speaker 1: I've been arguing with on Twitter or X, follow me
- 0:43Speaker 1: at IndependentNick, N-I-C, no K. If you're one of these people,
- 0:48Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, turn this shit off.
- 0:49Speaker 2: It's not for you. It's not for you.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Because Pete Alonzo just came back to Queens from, He
- 1:00Speaker 1: hit two home runs, one being a game-tying home run
- 1:05Speaker 1: in the ninth off of Kodai Senga in game two.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Game three just wrapped up. In his first at-bat in
- 1:11Speaker 1: game three, he hit a towering shot. Two very consequential,
- 1:20Speaker 1: massive home runs. And the Orioles get a sweep. Sorry,
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yankees fans. The Yankees, they don't even care about the
- 1:30Speaker 1: Orioles at this point. The Yankees just clinched. They are
- 1:33Speaker 1: going to be going to the postseason again. It seems
- 1:35Speaker 1: like they go every single year. And the Mets, their
- 1:40Speaker 1: season was over a long time ago, but they got
- 1:43Speaker 1: to get a new narrative now that will be talked
- 1:47Speaker 1: about for quite some time. Because, you know, I've always
- 1:52Speaker 1: said that losing Pete was an absolute travesty. It's our
- 1:55Speaker 1: generation's Tom Seaver. It immediately made me feel like there
- 1:59Speaker 1: is no such thing as a boy wonder when it
- 2:01Speaker 1: comes to David Stearns, and instead he is a boy blunder.
- 2:05Speaker 1: You got to get rid of this guy. And Pete Alonzo,
- 2:08Speaker 1: along with the Mets faithful, just made it crystal clear.
- 2:15Speaker 1: And that's the point that I'm going to make off
- 2:17Speaker 1: the top to all of you people out there who
- 2:23Speaker 1: get so upset with how Mets fans are cheered for
- 2:27Speaker 1: Pete Alonso's 300th home run, how Mets fans immediately left after.
- 2:34Speaker 2: His last at-bat in all three of these games.
- 2:41Speaker 1: You get upset by the fact that Mets fans booed
- 2:46Speaker 1: when he got walked by Jonah Tong in game one.
- 2:51Speaker 1: And you're totally missing the point. Honestly, if your point
- 2:56Speaker 1: is that Mets fans shouldn't be rooting against their own team,
- 3:02Speaker 1: then you're just not that smart. You have no ability
- 3:06Speaker 1: to understand nuance. You're not really understanding the big picture here.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Once again, over on X, at Independent Nick, check my replies.
- 3:16Speaker 1: All I've been doing is fighting with people these last
- 3:18Speaker 1: couple days, a couple people who are somewhat prominent in
- 3:21Speaker 1: Mets Twitter, about this point that it's not about... How
- 3:27Speaker 1: we feel about this current Mets team or about the
- 3:30Speaker 1: Mets overall as a franchise in our fandom. This has
- 3:34Speaker 1: nothing to do with that. This is about sending a
- 3:38Speaker 1: clear message to David Stearns. To Uncle Stevie Cohen. Shit,
- 3:48Speaker 1: somewhat to Pete Alonzo.
- 3:52Speaker 2: That.
- 3:53Speaker 1: This was the worst idea ever to get rid of
- 3:56Speaker 1: this guy. For anybody who makes the point, oh, well,
- 4:01Speaker 1: Pete's turned down so many deals. Pete turned down one deal,
- 4:03Speaker 1: seven for 158. It was a below the market deal.
- 4:07Speaker 2: At the time.
- 4:08Speaker 1: You don't understand market value if you still feel like
- 4:11Speaker 1: Pete's just, you know, just been turning down deals and
- 4:14Speaker 1: he got Boris and this and that. What is the
- 4:18Speaker 1: point of being a New York franchise and having the
- 4:22Speaker 1: richest owner in all of sports? Definitely the richest in baseball.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Is he the richest in all sports?
- 4:31Speaker 2: I think Balmer might be richer than him.
- 4:33Speaker 1: But what's the point of having the guy who's the
- 4:35Speaker 1: richest owner in baseball, who's an actual fan of the team?
- 4:40Speaker 1: If you're going to allow somebody to pay Pete Alonzo
- 4:43Speaker 1: more money than you are. What does a guy have
- 4:47Speaker 1: to do? And this is why I say you have
- 4:51Speaker 1: to fire the nerd. Because if he doesn't understand that
- 4:55Speaker 1: this guy is a guaranteed 30 to 40 and 100
- 5:00Speaker 1: to 125 every single year, he plays every single day.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Oh, and by the way, the defense was the problem, right?
- 5:09Speaker 1: Well, not only are Pete's defensive metrics much better this year,
- 5:16Speaker 1: But we got to see him flash the leather a
- 5:18Speaker 1: couple times just in this series. A couple diving plays.
- 5:21Speaker 1: One of them in extra innings. He's throwing the ball
- 5:26Speaker 1: over to first base with no issues at all. Nice
- 5:30Speaker 1: soft toss sending it over there.
- 5:37Speaker 2: I mean, damn.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Not only did he make the errant throw a couple
- 5:42Speaker 1: years ago that went high that Senga went up for.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Pulls a hammy.
- 5:46Speaker 1: He's never the same for the rest of the season
- 5:48Speaker 1: after starting out looking like an ace. But then Pete,
- 5:53Speaker 1: with a man on down by two in the bottom
- 5:55Speaker 1: of the ninth, in game two of the series, turns
- 6:02Speaker 1: on one, a fork ball that didn't quite fork. And Pete,
- 6:06Speaker 1: Pete obviously, he was ahead in the count. He knew
- 6:09Speaker 1: the fork ball was coming, right?
- 6:11Speaker 2: He understood.
- 6:12Speaker 1: You know, he played with this guy. He's watching from
- 6:13Speaker 1: first base. I'm sure he faced him sometimes in BP.
- 6:16Speaker 1: And so he knows what this ball does. And he
- 6:18Speaker 1: knows that if it's on this certain plane, it's going
- 6:20Speaker 1: to be so low that I'm not going to be
- 6:22Speaker 1: able to get to it. But Pete almost went down
- 6:24Speaker 1: to one knee, like old school Albert Bell style, to
- 6:27Speaker 1: turn on that shit and took it out. And the
- 6:32Speaker 1: Mets faithful in Citi Field, I mean, they showered him
- 6:37Speaker 1: with the praise that he deserves.
- 6:39Speaker 2: He got.
- 6:41Speaker 1: A huge ovation every time he came to the plate.
- 6:44Speaker 1: He hit that home run. Many people were there hoping
- 6:47Speaker 1: they would get to see Pete hit number 300. And
- 6:53Speaker 1: he does it in dramatic fashion. And the Mets fans
- 6:56Speaker 1: go wild so crazy that Pete does a curtain call.
- 7:01Speaker 1: After tying up the game in an opposing stadium. God,
- 7:05Speaker 1: that had to have felt good to him. Pete's done
- 7:08Speaker 1: a great job of taking the high road throughout this
- 7:10Speaker 1: entire thing. Every time somebody asks him, he's always like, man,
- 7:13Speaker 1: it's just lots of great memories, and it's nothing but
- 7:16Speaker 1: gratitude for those guys over there. He's talking about people
- 7:18Speaker 1: in the clubhouse, the staff, the players, everybody. Notice he
- 7:22Speaker 1: didn't say anything about management or ownership.
- 7:25Speaker 2: He did not say that.
- 7:26Speaker 1: He's being interviewed. He's making plays in the field after
- 7:30Speaker 1: hitting the home run in Game 3 on ESPN. The
- 7:33Speaker 1: ESPN broadcast is just having a great time with the
- 7:35Speaker 1: fact that the Mets not only gave up Pete Alonzo,
- 7:40Speaker 1: but also traded away a guy who's having an all-time
- 7:45Speaker 1: epic season and, you know, maybe the best young player
- 7:48Speaker 1: in baseball.
- 7:49Speaker 2: In PCA, Pete Crow Armstrong.
- 7:51Speaker 1: A couple Pete's that the, if the Mets ever have
- 7:54Speaker 1: another ball player that's named Pete, you can't ever get
- 7:58Speaker 1: rid of this guy. I mean, it's just a bad
- 7:59Speaker 1: omen at this point. PCA having a crazy day. My
- 8:05Speaker 1: typical producer, your guy, super producer, Jason Baum, Not here
- 8:09Speaker 1: today playing kickball, but he and I are facing off
- 8:15Speaker 1: in our fantasy baseball finals right now.
- 8:20Speaker 2: And we've been in this league for a decade.
- 8:23Speaker 1: And PCA, I have PCA on the team.
- 8:26Speaker 2: And PCA today, let's get these numbers. Three for four, three.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Hits, three runs, two home runs, three RBIs. He had
- 8:35Speaker 1: a home run and two home runs and also a triple.
- 8:41Speaker 1: So PCA getting it done. And yeah, half a season
- 8:44Speaker 1: of hobby bias. But yeah, man, the Pete thing, you know,
- 8:50Speaker 1: the inability for people to understand how the Mets fan
- 8:56Speaker 1: feels and some people just having this like rigid thought
- 9:01Speaker 1: process where it's like, okay, well, you root for your team.
- 9:04Speaker 1: When a guy leaves, like you give him a good
- 9:06Speaker 1: round of applause that first time, but then you continue
- 9:08Speaker 1: to root for your team. First and foremost, The Mets
- 9:10Speaker 1: are totally out of it. That makes things totally different.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Mike Piazza came back as a Padre. He hit two
- 9:18Speaker 1: home runs.
- 9:18Speaker 2: In game two.
- 9:20Speaker 1: He got his ovation from the crowd and ended up
- 9:26Speaker 1: doing a curtain call as well. People act like that
- 9:28Speaker 1: didn't happen. But the Mets were a good team at
- 9:30Speaker 1: that point. So it was a little bit different because
- 9:34Speaker 1: in that game one, We were a good team. We
- 9:39Speaker 1: were headed to the playoffs. It wasn't like, yo, we
- 9:41Speaker 1: have to win this game. If we lose this game,
- 9:45Speaker 1: then we fall out of a wild card spot. It
- 9:47Speaker 1: was not a situation like that. So that being a
- 9:50Speaker 1: little bit different, but mainly the big difference between this
- 9:55Speaker 1: situation and anything else is that no person with any
- 10:02Speaker 1: type of sense thought that Pete Alonzo shouldn't retire a Met.
- 10:08Speaker 2: That's a Mets fan.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Now, there's a whole lot of people that feel that way.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Those people have no sense. And clearly, the vast majority
- 10:18Speaker 1: of the fan base... wanted Pete Alonzo to be a
- 10:21Speaker 1: Met forever. I mean, you know, if you can't understand
- 10:25Speaker 1: that a guy who plays every day, mashes home runs
- 10:29Speaker 1: and drives in runs, your all-time home run leader for
- 10:35Speaker 1: your franchise, he's 31 years old, and you let him
- 10:39Speaker 1: go somewhere, you let somebody outbid you for him? Stern's
- 10:43Speaker 1: just got to go. Because not only does he, this
- 10:46Speaker 1: is why I call him a nerd, right? People on
- 10:49Speaker 1: X get so mad at me for calling him a nerd.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I'm like, the whole thing about it is, is like,
- 10:53Speaker 1: you know, if that bothers you that much, you've been
- 10:56Speaker 1: called a nerd before. It touches you somewhere, you know,
- 11:00Speaker 1: it touches you really at home. Because, I mean, at
- 11:06Speaker 1: the end of the day, you could call a guy
- 11:08Speaker 1: a lot worse. And I think that it's clear that
- 11:10Speaker 1: to me, his nerdiness, and I'm not talking about because
- 11:13Speaker 1: he went to Harvard, I'm talking about the fact that
- 11:15Speaker 1: He looked at Pete Alonzo and said, we need to
- 11:19Speaker 1: get some better defense. So we're going to get Polanco,
- 11:22Speaker 1: a guy who's never played first, and a guy who
- 11:26Speaker 1: never plays. And we're going to let Pete Alonzo go
- 11:31Speaker 1: somewhere else, get outbid for him in a non-salary cap sport.
- 11:36Speaker 1: So this is not like it was something where it
- 11:37Speaker 1: was like, hey, well, if we sign Pete at that number,
- 11:40Speaker 1: we won't be able to.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Nope, nope, nope, nope. That's not what it is. We
- 11:47Speaker 2: let Pete Alonzo go, man. Look at him. Look what
- 11:49Speaker 2: he's doing.
- 11:51Speaker 1: You see him throw his bat after that game-tying home
- 11:56Speaker 1: run in the ninth, and you telling me he didn't want.
- 11:59Speaker 2: To stick it to the Mets? Of course he did,
- 12:03Speaker 2: as he should.
- 12:07Speaker 1: My wife was, when Pete hit a home run both times,
- 12:12Speaker 1: she was literally teary-eyed about the crowd.
- 12:14Speaker 2: She's like, this just isn't right.
- 12:17Speaker 1: And she said, you know, she said, and this is,
- 12:20Speaker 1: I feel like, it's just beyond being.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Like, yay, Pete, you did it. Or, oh, the Mets suck.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Or, you know, or even like, oh, look at that,
- 12:29Speaker 1: David Stearns, which I think that is one of the
- 12:32Speaker 1: main sentiments. I think the overwhelming sentiment from Mets fans,
- 12:39Speaker 1: especially the large majority of us that love Pete Alonzo,
- 12:46Speaker 1: The overwhelming feeling when you see him hit home run
- 12:52Speaker 1: 300 and hit another home run in the final game
- 12:57Speaker 1: of the series. The overwhelming feeling from all of us
- 13:01Speaker 1: is good for him. He wanted to be a Met.
- 13:09Speaker 1: He turned down one contract that was way under market
- 13:13Speaker 1: at the time. The rumors were that he, the Mets
- 13:19Speaker 1: didn't even really even negotiate a contract with him. They
- 13:23Speaker 1: continued to make him offer after offer that were either
- 13:27Speaker 1: short on years or an AAV that was not, that
- 13:33Speaker 1: was not, you know, it wasn't, it's not even that
- 13:38Speaker 1: it wasn't even enough. Like some of it was kind
- 13:40Speaker 1: of disrespectful, right? And I think that David Stearns had
- 13:45Speaker 1: this hard line. And I hope that, I really, really
- 13:50Speaker 1: hope that the rumor is true. That at one time
- 13:53Speaker 1: during negotiations, Pete said, I'll be getting my jacket and
- 13:57Speaker 1: going to Cooperstown while you're still looking at your graphs
- 14:00Speaker 1: and charts or something to that effect. If he really
- 14:03Speaker 1: said that to David Stearns, bravo, man. Fuck, man, I
- 14:07Speaker 1: can't believe. It hurts my heart, yo. These last few days,
- 14:11Speaker 1: I mean, I'm one of these people who all season
- 14:14Speaker 1: is just like, fuck, man, I can't believe. People are like, oh,
- 14:18Speaker 1: get over it, move on, he's gone, he left. I'll
- 14:20Speaker 1: never get over this shit. I will never, ever get
- 14:22Speaker 1: over this. I'll be talking about this for years, for
- 14:24Speaker 1: the rest of my life. And that's, to me, why
- 14:29Speaker 1: he is our generation's Seaver, because when I hear people
- 14:33Speaker 1: from back then talk about Seaver getting traded, It's like
- 14:40Speaker 1: a piece of their joy was stolen. And that's exactly
- 14:43Speaker 1: how I feel when it comes to Pete Alonzo no
- 14:47Speaker 1: longer being a New York Mets and hitting big home
- 14:49Speaker 1: runs against the New York Mets.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Come on, man. Listen, man, I'm sorry.
- 14:57Speaker 1: If you're one of these people that's like, oh, you
- 15:01Speaker 1: can't root against the Mets. First of all, we're not
- 15:05Speaker 1: rooting against anything. People were not booing Jonah Tong. People
- 15:10Speaker 1: were not cheering against Kodai Senga. They wanted to see
- 15:17Speaker 1: Pete hit number 300, and they were happy when they
- 15:20Speaker 1: saw him hit number 300. And it didn't matter as
- 15:26Speaker 1: far as the Mets are concerned when it comes to
- 15:29Speaker 1: their overall ability to do anything this season.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I mean, honestly....
- 15:38Speaker 1: Sean Minaya, you know, coming out saying like, oh, you know,
- 15:42Speaker 1: he was a little bit upset and it's kind of
- 15:44Speaker 1: crazy to see and all that other shit.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Sean Minaya, shut the fuck up.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Because your ass not being able to, you know, throw
- 15:50Speaker 1: more than three innings last year while you're getting paid
- 15:53Speaker 1: $ 25 million was the biggest reason why we didn't have
- 15:56Speaker 1: a great season, the type of season where we go
- 15:58Speaker 1: to the playoffs and Pete has some big moments and
- 15:59Speaker 1: he's still here in the first place.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Sean Minaya, Mr.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Big Inning, can be cruising along and all of a
- 16:06Speaker 1: sudden he's getting shellacked. Yeah, I want to hear from Sean, man.
- 16:12Speaker 1: I want to hear from Sean. And, you know, Lindor
- 16:15Speaker 1: did say, like, you know, he said he was trying
- 16:18Speaker 1: to pick up Jonah Tong. But Lindor gets it. You
- 16:20Speaker 1: saw Lindor on the field with Pete today in between
- 16:24Speaker 1: innings going up and embracing. I mean, Lindor has basically said, yo,
- 16:28Speaker 1: you look over at Pete's numbers and you're like, fuck,
- 16:29Speaker 1: we wish we.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Had that over here.
- 16:31Speaker 1: He's said that in not quite so frank words multiple
- 16:36Speaker 1: times this season when asked about Alonzo. That's the thing
- 16:41Speaker 1: is that it's not like Alonzo instead, like, okay, well,
- 16:44Speaker 1: if we have Alonzo, then we don't. No, fuck that.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Jared Young, we could find some other places for him
- 16:49Speaker 1: to possibly make an impact. But if we just added that.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Into the lineup, you never know how the season goes.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Baseball is one of those things where it's like, yo,
- 16:59Speaker 1: you add another guy who's consistently knocking in runs like that,
- 17:03Speaker 1: doing it in clutch moments, which Pete has proven to
- 17:07Speaker 1: be able to do throughout his career. It changes everything.
- 17:12Speaker 1: A couple more times where you don't get the big hit,
- 17:15Speaker 1: if all of a sudden you turn that around and
- 17:17Speaker 1: you make that not just a big hit, but like
- 17:19Speaker 1: a big extra base hit, it changes the whole season.
- 17:23Speaker 1: That 12-game losing streak that we had in April, yo,
- 17:28Speaker 1: all you need is one or two things to go
- 17:31Speaker 1: your way. One hit impedes that guy. He brings that emotion.
- 17:36Speaker 1: He was the lifeblood of the team. He was never,
- 17:39Speaker 1: ever supposed to wear another jersey. Fire David Stearns.
- 17:50Speaker 2: He's got to go.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Uncle Stevie, I'm talking to you. Please, Uncle Stevie, fire
- 17:56Speaker 1: David Stearns.
- 17:58Speaker 2: He's got to go.
- 18:04Speaker 1: It's sad man it really does it fucking hurts my
- 18:07Speaker 1: heart it hurts my heart uncle stevie please man david
- 18:12Speaker 1: stearns he's just gotta go jets and the giants they
- 18:20Speaker 1: both get wins on week one for the first time
- 18:23Speaker 1: since oh nine i believe i heard jets get their
- 18:26Speaker 1: first one i think since 2016 and then um Other
- 18:31Speaker 1: than 2023, which we know was the game that they won.
- 18:35Speaker 2: With the Xavier Gibson.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Great punt return, but we lost Brett Favre. Wow, that's
- 18:43Speaker 1: a slip right there. Another Green Bay quarterback, Aaron Rodgers,
- 18:48Speaker 1: on the fourth play of the game to the Torn Achilles.
- 18:50Speaker 1: So therefore, that was not one that we got to
- 18:55Speaker 1: really enjoy as a week one win.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Jets come out, they take care of business.
- 19:04Speaker 1: And they dominated the Titans. I watched the game on
- 19:08Speaker 1: the plane. I went back to New York, New Jersey,
- 19:12Speaker 1: Jersey at first, and then I spent some time in
- 19:15Speaker 1: New York, specifically in Queens, and had a great, great chip.
- 19:20Speaker 1: As I'm getting on the plane in Arizona, I'm going
- 19:26Speaker 1: through TSA, and the dude that is directing people on
- 19:30Speaker 1: what to do with their bags, by the way, TSA,
- 19:33Speaker 1: like the difference between TSA when you're in Phoenix and
- 19:40Speaker 1: that airport, which it's not like it's a small airport.
- 19:42Speaker 1: It's a legit airport. But the difference in TSA with
- 19:45Speaker 1: there and then the, and JFK, it's just so crazy.
- 19:48Speaker 2: It's like, it's not even the same place.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Beyond just the, you know, the 100X people, in addition
- 19:56Speaker 1: to that, you also, like the TSA is just totally different. Like,
- 19:59Speaker 1: you know, you're just rolling through. No, there's no, you know, shit.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Let me not talk about.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Security via lax at the airport.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Let me not talk about that. I want to end
- 20:08Speaker 1: up on a list of some shit. But yeah, man,
- 20:12Speaker 1: it's totally different. And as I'm walking through security, do
- 20:15Speaker 1: with the bags, I got my Knicks championship hat on,
- 20:17Speaker 1: which will make an appearance here soon. And I'm wearing
- 20:20Speaker 1: that as I'm going through. And the guy standing there,
- 20:24Speaker 1: he's like, man, I was happy for y'all, man. Y'all fans,
- 20:27Speaker 1: y'all deserve that.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Y'all deserve that.
- 20:28Speaker 1: I was like, ah, thank you, brother. I appreciate you.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Sometimes I still don't feel like it's real. And then
- 20:33Speaker 1: as I'm going through the body scan joint, as I'm
- 20:38Speaker 1: going through there, The lady on the other side looks
- 20:40Speaker 1: at me and goes, Nixon five, and like pulls out
- 20:44Speaker 1: her chain. She's got a Knicks chain on.
- 20:47Speaker 2: She starts talking.
- 20:48Speaker 1: She had a heavy Bronx accent. She was like, yo,
- 20:50Speaker 1: I like that hat. I had the ill hat, but
- 20:53Speaker 1: I lost it when I was at the parade. I
- 20:54Speaker 1: was like, yo, I flew back for the parade too.
- 20:56Speaker 1: She was like, oh, that shit was loud. And then
- 20:59Speaker 1: I was like, yeah.
- 21:00Speaker 2: She's like, yeah, I ain't had a hat that they
- 21:01Speaker 2: was wearing on the floor after the game.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I said, nah, that hat, they made that hat for
- 21:05Speaker 1: the Spurs.
- 21:06Speaker 2: That hat and the shirt. She was like, yep, they
- 21:07Speaker 2: sure did. They sure did. I'm getting the Knicks in five,
- 21:20Speaker 2: you know, before I even leave Arizona, before I even
- 21:23Speaker 2: touch down back in Newark. And yeah, man, people are
- 21:31Speaker 2: still hype.
- 21:32Speaker 1: A lot of people still talking about the Knicks, you know,
- 21:34Speaker 1: like a couple of Knicks and fives still out there. And,
- 21:37Speaker 1: you know, it was fun to go back. But yeah, man.
- 21:41Speaker 1: So I'm on the way back and I purposely fly JetBlue.
- 21:44Speaker 1: So I can have the screen and I can watch
- 21:46Speaker 1: the Jets game in its entirety while I'm on the flight.
- 21:49Speaker 1: And the Jets, from the very beginning, you know, first drive,
- 21:54Speaker 1: go straight down the field, score a touchdown. That's not,
- 21:59Speaker 1: you know, I know there's a lot of people who
- 22:00Speaker 1: are fans of NFL teams who, you know, to them,
- 22:03Speaker 1: seeing that is not a real big deal. As a
- 22:06Speaker 1: Jets fan, that's a big fucking deal. We don't see
- 22:10Speaker 1: that very often. We do not get to see that
- 22:14Speaker 1: very often. And truthfully, I was kind of like, you know,
- 22:19Speaker 1: kind of taken aback by it. Like, okay, Geno's hitting
- 22:22Speaker 1: his spots on time throws. Guys are catching it, running
- 22:28Speaker 1: after the catch.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Yeah, man. And the offensive line, which.
- 22:34Speaker 1: To me is the biggest factor this year for this team.
- 22:43Speaker 1: what they can end up being, and they were absolutely
- 22:49Speaker 1: dominating what's supposed to be a pretty decent Tennessee defensive line.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Simmons up the middle is supposed to be one of
- 22:59Speaker 1: the best he tackles in the league, but the Jets,
- 23:03Speaker 1: it didn't matter.
- 23:05Speaker 2: They came out, they dominated.
- 23:07Speaker 1: They dominated in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Cam Ward was running for his life. Brees Hall was,
- 23:17Speaker 1: you know, 22 touches. It's like only his eighth game
- 23:21Speaker 1: in his career where he's gotten 20-plus touches, which is crazy.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Frank Reich, I mean, I love this guy so far.
- 23:27Speaker 1: The Jets were scheming guys wide open. How long has
- 23:31Speaker 1: it been that you feel like every time a Jets
- 23:33Speaker 1: receiver makes a catch, he's got to make some miraculous
- 23:35Speaker 1: catch with a guy on top of him? It seems
- 23:38Speaker 1: so simple, but I'm always watching these other teams play
- 23:39Speaker 1: against the Jets, and guys are wide open. And, you know,
- 23:42Speaker 1: the quarterback is just throwing at some dude, and he's just, ah,
- 23:45Speaker 1: and just, you know, mad room to go or just,
- 23:47Speaker 1: you know, by himself in the end zone. We seem
- 23:49Speaker 1: like we never see that. They're doing these little trick
- 23:51Speaker 1: plays that catch us totally by surprise. For once, we
- 23:54Speaker 1: got to see the Jets be that team, the team
- 23:56Speaker 1: that looked like they were the prepared team, like they
- 23:59Speaker 1: came ready to play and to win a football game.
- 24:08Speaker 2: It was great to see. Now, some of that is
- 24:09Speaker 2: the fact that Tennessee sucks.
- 24:11Speaker 1: You know, you can't make that the whole conversation and
- 24:15Speaker 1: just throw away what the Jets actually did and how
- 24:17Speaker 1: they performed and what they looked like as a football team.
- 24:20Speaker 2: But you also can't.
- 24:22Speaker 1: You can't, you know, you can't get around that and
- 24:26Speaker 1: just like, you know, discount it and not give it
- 24:29Speaker 1: some credence. Yes, there's definitely a part of this was
- 24:32Speaker 1: the fact that Tennessee's not that good. Robert Sahl's not
- 24:34Speaker 1: that good of a head coach. You saw him do
- 24:39Speaker 1: the same shit that he's always done. He's wasting timeouts.
- 24:42Speaker 1: He runs that wide nine defense where he only brings four.
- 24:45Speaker 1: That's why Geno is just standing there. He's never getting touched.
- 24:49Speaker 1: And Garrett Wilson is coming. He's going, eh. And at
- 24:53Speaker 1: some point, he's going to be open. And Geno's zing,
- 24:55Speaker 1: zings him right in there and hits him. Omar Cooper
- 25:01Speaker 1: had a great reception. Ends up getting an ankle sprain.
- 25:06Speaker 1: At first, they're saying, High ankle sprain, you're like, oh,
- 25:08Speaker 1: minimum four weeks. But then after getting some imaging on
- 25:12Speaker 1: it on Monday, they say it's not that bad and
- 25:15Speaker 1: that there's a good chance that, you know, they say
- 25:18Speaker 1: he's weak to weak at this point. I think that's positive.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Minka Fitzpatrick goes down. People sometimes say quad. I saw
- 25:25Speaker 1: him grab it. It looked like it was growing. They
- 25:26Speaker 1: are saying growing now. You know, I think he's weak
- 25:30Speaker 1: to weak as well.
- 25:31Speaker 2: I haven't really got a real prognosis on Minka. Let
- 25:35Speaker 2: me look that up.
- 25:38Speaker 1: But, you know, you lose Minka Fitzpatrick on literally the
- 25:41Speaker 1: first defensive possession, and you're like, okay. Yeah, they're saying
- 25:46Speaker 1: week to week. He was not in practice today, Minka. But, yeah,
- 25:50Speaker 1: you lose him on the first drive, and you're like, oh,
- 25:57Speaker 1: here we go again.
- 25:59Speaker 2: But the Jets defense, it held strong.
- 26:02Speaker 1: At first, I was getting a little frustrated with Cam Ward,
- 26:04Speaker 1: you know, scrambling on third down and getting some first downs.
- 26:08Speaker 1: But overall, they were able to get good pressure on him.
- 26:11Speaker 1: David Bailey had six pressures, one sack. He really, really,
- 26:18Speaker 1: I'm telling you, this kid, he's going to be a
- 26:20Speaker 1: legit pass rusher in this league for a long time.
- 26:23Speaker 1: And the Jets haven't had that in quite some time.
- 26:30Speaker 1: And the offensive line, man, once again, you know, they're
- 26:33Speaker 1: just moving guys. They are opening up holes. It seemed
- 26:37Speaker 1: like every Jets run was at least a four-yard run, minimum.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Braylon Allen comes in. He's got a head of steam.
- 26:44Speaker 1: He's going downhill. Nobody wants to get in, just, you know,
- 26:47Speaker 1: go straight up, square up pads with that dude. So
- 26:51Speaker 1: Braylon Allen did his thing for sure. Just only 10
- 26:54Speaker 1: carries and 40 yards. But then Brees, yeah, getting over
- 26:57Speaker 1: 100 yards, getting a touchdown, 22 carries, feed him. And
- 27:03Speaker 1: then you see the young kid, Sadiq, on the jet sweep,
- 27:10Speaker 1: getting around the corner with ease. A guy that size
- 27:14Speaker 1: who runs a sub 540, he's a weapon. I think
- 27:20Speaker 1: we're going to continue to see his overall just game
- 27:25Speaker 1: and usage expand. Frank Reich, he loves it.
- 27:28Speaker 2: It's a new toy.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Bart Scott keeps comparing him to Anderson Hernandez, and every
- 27:34Speaker 1: time he does, he's like, yo, I got to, you know,
- 27:36Speaker 1: I know, like, he has to give some sort of disclaimer. Bro,
- 27:39Speaker 1: we're talking about the football player, man. We're not talking about,
- 27:43Speaker 1: you know, the murderer. If he wants to bring up
- 27:45Speaker 1: Anderson Hernandez, don't fucking, come on, Bart. Don't give him
- 27:49Speaker 1: no disclaimer. Just talk about Aaron Hernandez.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Shit.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Yo, man, I'm like, yo, shout out to Bart. You know,
- 27:59Speaker 1: he's doing his thing locally with the New York stuff. Obviously,
- 28:02Speaker 1: lots of Jets coverage on SNY. And then he's got
- 28:06Speaker 1: the podcast that's on the official Jets network. And, you know,
- 28:10Speaker 1: flaming on his feet, obviously, after the ESPN firing.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Listen, as far as, like, I.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Don't know. My thing is, like, okay, so say we say, hey, Bart,
- 28:20Speaker 1: we don't want you on the national shows anymore. But
- 28:22Speaker 1: you don't want him on ESPN Radio New York, ESPN
- 28:24Speaker 1: New York anymore? Eh.
- 28:29Speaker 2: I mean, come on. It's a. I don't know.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I don't think there's a whole lot. Barton Hahn was
- 28:35Speaker 1: the best. That was the best show. I know Hahn
- 28:38Speaker 1: now is in the bigger time slot. He's later there
- 28:42Speaker 1: with Rosenberg. And I don't remember the other guy's name
- 28:45Speaker 1: right now. But, yeah, it used to be the Michael K.
- 28:48Speaker 1: time slot.
- 28:49Speaker 2: It's not that good. Barton Hahn together was fantastic. It
- 28:53Speaker 2: was great.
- 28:54Speaker 1: It's better than any of these ESPN shows that they
- 28:57Speaker 1: have now on ESPN New York was Barton Hahn. But hey, man, ESPN,
- 29:03Speaker 1: they obviously they're doing something right. But also shout to
- 29:07Speaker 1: Ryan Clark.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Ryan Clark. Hey, man, his show's called Pivot.
- 29:12Speaker 1: How could he not? He makes the pivot and he's
- 29:16Speaker 1: got the weekly show. That's like in the nice studio
- 29:19Speaker 1: that's on Netflix. And then they're still doing the pivot
- 29:22Speaker 1: as well. You know, he's that guy. You know, he's
- 29:26Speaker 1: going to fall on his feet.
- 29:26Speaker 2: He's going to get it done. Shout to Ryan Clark.
- 29:29Speaker 2: But yeah, man, Jets.
- 29:30Speaker 1: They get a big win, and they, like I said,
- 29:33Speaker 1: dominate the Titans. The Robert Sala questions and deficiencies that we...
- 29:40Speaker 1: had as Jets fans were on full display from the
- 29:44Speaker 1: very beginning. Bad special teams, they kick the ball out
- 29:47Speaker 1: of bounds. Jets get the ball in the 40, go
- 29:48Speaker 1: straight down, score. And then Jets really, 23-10, that didn't
- 29:52Speaker 1: tell the story. They dominated at a higher level than 23-10.
- 30:00Speaker 1: So what we got to see now moving forward is,
- 30:04Speaker 1: is it real or was it just because they were
- 30:06Speaker 1: playing the Titans? And the Giants have a similar question
- 30:11Speaker 1: because the Giants come out and Jackson Dart looks great.
- 30:14Speaker 1: They went 28 to 20 against the Cowboys. Cowboys defense
- 30:17Speaker 1: looks like it's bullshit all again. That again was a
- 30:21Speaker 1: score that was closer than the actual game was. Scadaboo's
- 30:24Speaker 1: running guys over. You know, you go out and you
- 30:28Speaker 1: trade your first round pick For Quentin Richardson, I'm sorry,
- 30:33Speaker 1: Quentin Williams. Quentin Williams, my bad. Quentin Richardson's a basketball player.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Quentin Richardson, yo, underrated Knick. Didn't have great times with
- 30:48Speaker 1: the Knicks, and it was definitely not a very good
- 30:50Speaker 1: Knick team, but I enjoyed him when he played for
- 30:52Speaker 1: the Knicks. But Quentin Williams, he is a guy who
- 30:56Speaker 1: you give up all these picks for, And specifically, you
- 31:01Speaker 1: give up your first round pick next year. And when
- 31:05Speaker 1: you give up that pick, you get a guy who
- 31:07Speaker 1: needs to be a cornerstone. You obviously like him, not
- 31:11Speaker 1: just as a player, but the type of guy he
- 31:14Speaker 1: is in the building because you give him a contract
- 31:16Speaker 1: extension and pay him big money. If you're my defensive tackle,
- 31:21Speaker 1: I need you to be the type of guy who
- 31:23Speaker 1: this other team is not going to be able to
- 31:26Speaker 1: just run the ball straight at us all the time.
- 31:31Speaker 2: And that's the thing. I love Quinton.
- 31:33Speaker 1: I was not happy when the Jets traded Quinton. But
- 31:35Speaker 1: the thing about Quinton is, is that he's good at
- 31:38Speaker 1: rushing the passer. He will make some amazing plays where
- 31:42Speaker 1: he gets by his guy and makes a play in
- 31:44Speaker 1: the backfield, whether it be a sack or whether it
- 31:49Speaker 1: be a tackle for loss against the running back. But
- 31:54Speaker 1: He's not just like a big dude that you put
- 31:56Speaker 1: in the middle, big fat guy who's just a run
- 31:59Speaker 1: stopper who just takes up space.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Sweat is that guy.
- 32:03Speaker 1: The Jets have a few tackles now who are more
- 32:06Speaker 1: from that ilk where they're just big dudes who take
- 32:09Speaker 1: up a whole lot of space and they stuff the run.
- 32:13Speaker 1: And then you have linebackers who are ready to fly around.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Demario Davis.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Sherwood. These guys.
- 32:24Speaker 1: are tackle machines. And especially when they have somebody to
- 32:27Speaker 1: clog up those offensive linemen that allows them to come downhill.
- 32:31Speaker 1: And they were laying hits on Sunday. The Giants come out,
- 32:35Speaker 1: they immediately again, just like the Jets, look like a
- 32:38Speaker 1: more professional football team than they have recently. Shout to
- 32:42Speaker 1: Aaron Glenn, shout to Harbaugh. Because at the end of
- 32:47Speaker 1: the day, these teams, they look prepared. Isaiah Likely, Looks
- 32:54Speaker 1: like he just needed to be.
- 32:55Speaker 2: A number one.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Some people would say they could never see, you know,
- 33:01Speaker 1: some people didn't see that coming necessarily. Clearly I did
- 33:04Speaker 1: because he's a starting tight end on my fantasy team.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Put up 150 points, half point PPR in week one.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Glennon Juice is looking good. It was Salivation Army prior
- 33:20Speaker 1: to Glennon Juice. just to show you guys the theme
- 33:24Speaker 1: I got going on there. But, yo, man, I just
- 33:29Speaker 1: feel like both of these New York teams, they're giving
- 33:33Speaker 1: their fan bases some hope. They're putting out a product
- 33:37Speaker 1: that it's not an embarrassment, and I don't think either
- 33:40Speaker 1: team's winning the Super Bowl. I'd be surprised if either
- 33:42Speaker 1: team made the playoffs. But both teams, after week one,
- 33:46Speaker 1: give you some hope that that's a possibility, and they
- 33:48Speaker 1: both have a chance now. against what is assumed to
- 33:51Speaker 1: be a much better opponent in Week 2, they both
- 33:55Speaker 1: have the chance to really make not just New York fans,
- 33:59Speaker 1: but the entire NFL take notice. Giants and Jets, they
- 34:06Speaker 1: have a chance this year to take the next step,
- 34:12Speaker 1: and that starts in Week 2. So we're going to
- 34:16Speaker 1: find something out about the Jets this, and the Giants
- 34:20Speaker 1: in week two, are they real? Are they legit? Is
- 34:27Speaker 1: this real reason for hope? Or did they play bad
- 34:33Speaker 1: opponents in week one and we're in for a long
- 34:40Speaker 1: season with a lot of losses and some embarrassment? I really,
- 34:46Speaker 1: I think that the Jets definitely have a chance against
- 34:50Speaker 1: Green Bay. Green Bay lost against Minnesota. With Carson Wentz
- 34:57Speaker 1: as the quarterback. Second half of that game, they just
- 35:02Speaker 1: totally shit the bed. They are getting blitzed mercilessly. And
- 35:14Speaker 1: I think it was 81% of the time. I think
- 35:20Speaker 1: it was 81% of the time.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Um, and, uh, yeah, yeah.
- 35:29Speaker 1: 81% of the time, Brian Flores, absolute psychopath says we
- 35:34Speaker 1: are bringing the heat.
- 35:37Speaker 2: We are bringing the heat and love. Couldn't handle it.
- 35:41Speaker 1: The whole team, you got some, you know, some fumbles
- 35:44Speaker 1: and then Minnesota comes back. They win that game, especially
- 35:46Speaker 1: with some big turnovers. Um, you know, in, uh, on
- 35:51Speaker 1: Green Bay's side of the field. And now Green Bay, again,
- 35:56Speaker 1: very shaky offensive line. Jets have a good defensive line.
- 36:06Speaker 1: They come at you in waves. They have a couple
- 36:10Speaker 1: dynamic edges in Will McDonald and David Bailey.
- 36:16Speaker 2: It could be a problem.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Aaron Glenn, you know, I listen, you know, he's not
- 36:20Speaker 1: scared to send people. I think the jets blitzed 40
- 36:23Speaker 1: something percent of the time. And that's also in a blowout.
- 36:26Speaker 1: So therefore, you know, towards the end of the game,
- 36:28Speaker 1: you're not, you're not blitzing a lot. I, that's the
- 36:31Speaker 1: one thing I didn't love.
- 36:31Speaker 2: I didn't love how the.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Jets totally just, you know, took their foot off the
- 36:35Speaker 1: gas and gave up that touchdown where they were just
- 36:37Speaker 1: in prevent.
- 36:39Speaker 2: I don't know. Fucking holding the three points. 23 to 10.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Didn't, didn't, you know, that, that, the game and watching
- 36:49Speaker 1: the game left me much more satisfied than that final
- 36:52Speaker 1: score did. But Jets and Giants have a chance to
- 36:58Speaker 1: show us that they're legit in week two. The NFL
- 37:06Speaker 1: in general, it was a good week. It was an
- 37:08Speaker 1: interesting week. The Lions game, I thought that was, I
- 37:12Speaker 1: saw it because I had, I had the Jets game
- 37:17Speaker 1: on the The JetBlue TV. Shout out to JetBlue, my
- 37:20Speaker 1: favorite airline, especially the TVs. I was taking JetBlue in 2003,
- 37:25Speaker 1: and they had TVs.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Nice, the best seats. They give you a little bit
- 37:32Speaker 2: of extra room.
- 37:34Speaker 1: I've gotten to the point in my life, you know, Southwest,
- 37:37Speaker 1: maybe if it's a short flight and it's just me, but,
- 37:41Speaker 1: you know, these hopping on a Spirit.
- 37:44Speaker 2: or a Frontier, fuck.
- 37:46Speaker 1: All that, man, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, miss me with
- 37:48Speaker 1: that shit, I need a nice seat, especially, most of
- 37:50Speaker 1: my trips are back to New York or New Jersey,
- 37:52Speaker 1: that's the place I go the most, and, um, that's
- 37:54Speaker 1: a long flight, and, uh, I need a, I need
- 37:57Speaker 1: a decent sized seat, um, I'm gonna be, I'm probably
- 38:00Speaker 1: going to be taking, you know, a decent amount of
- 38:03Speaker 1: luggage as well, um, and so, yeah, I've, I've totally,
- 38:07Speaker 1: I've totally, you know, just, just sworn off some of these, uh,
- 38:12Speaker 1: more low budget, um, places, I think I'm gonna go
- 38:15Speaker 1: all the way JetBlue, I think I'm just gonna become
- 38:16Speaker 1: like a JetBlue guy, I gotta get like a JetBlue
- 38:18Speaker 1: credit card and some shit, but, um, yeah, this, uh,
- 38:25Speaker 1: this past week in the NFL that, um, I had the,
- 38:28Speaker 1: so I had the, the, the Jets game on the
- 38:31Speaker 1: big screen, and then I had, um, I had Red
- 38:35Speaker 1: Zone on my phone, so it's basically just like my
- 38:38Speaker 1: setup at home, where I got the 70 inch and the, uh,
- 38:41Speaker 1: 55 inch underneath it, but it was just a, uh, a.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Miniature version.
- 38:48Speaker 1: And the flight from here to New Jersey, the two
- 38:54Speaker 1: ladies next to me when I sit down, they're just
- 38:57Speaker 1: immediately the best of friends, chatty Cathy's, which is not,
- 39:01Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Like, oh my God, this is horrible.
- 39:03Speaker 1: But at the same time, it's not exactly who I
- 39:05Speaker 1: want necessarily sitting next to me, the two ladies that
- 39:07Speaker 1: are gonna talk to each other the whole time. But
- 39:09Speaker 1: I got my headphones in, it's all good, whatever. By
- 39:13Speaker 1: the end of the flight, I was, like, friends with
- 39:14Speaker 1: both of them. I was talking shit in one of
- 39:18Speaker 1: my group chats. I was like, yo, these ladies, blah, blah, blah,
- 39:21Speaker 1: they're going to talk the entire flight. And I was like, well,
- 39:25Speaker 1: I take it all back. Uh, me and, uh, well,
- 39:28Speaker 1: I'll leave her name out or whatever. We, uh, we're,
- 39:30Speaker 1: we're besties. She's, she's going to try to get the,
- 39:33Speaker 1: help me get the, my EMF readings down in my home. Um, my, my,
- 39:38Speaker 1: you know, there's, she's telling me about all the electricity
- 39:40Speaker 1: and how you do this and how she put one
- 39:42Speaker 1: in or, you know, her dog that had cancer. He, uh,
- 39:45Speaker 1: all of a sudden was, um, he, you know, he
- 39:48Speaker 1: was right in front of, I just, yeah, we became besties,
- 39:51Speaker 1: the other lady, um, she's got the same nickname as
- 39:53Speaker 1: my daughter, and so I, I was, I was, you know,
- 39:56Speaker 1: chatting up both these ladies, I gave, I gave, uh,
- 39:58Speaker 1: the one lady my card, um, it just goes to
- 40:01Speaker 1: show you, man, sometimes, you know, you, you make it, don't, don't,
- 40:05Speaker 1: don't be such an asshole, and I'm talking to myself,
- 40:07Speaker 1: but I'm talking to you too, if you're watching, give
- 40:10Speaker 1: the lady a try, she might, you know, she might
- 40:11Speaker 1: be a nice lady, and she might be somebody who can, uh,
- 40:14Speaker 1: you know, I don't know, man, she, she just, She
- 40:18Speaker 1: was sweet as pie. And she was actually talking about
- 40:21Speaker 1: some real shit on some, you know, on some, you know,
- 40:24Speaker 1: these data centers and all this electricity and all the
- 40:28Speaker 1: effects that it's having on you and your kids and blah, blah, blah.
- 40:31Speaker 1: There's this thing you plug in. It takes out this
- 40:33Speaker 1: percentage and this, this, and that.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Yo, the lady was legit. She's a real one. I
- 40:38Speaker 2: fucks with her. But yeah, so I'm sitting there.
- 40:43Speaker 1: I'm watching Red Zone on my phone. And then I
- 40:47Speaker 1: see This, I see the Detroit versus.
- 40:55Speaker 2: New Orleans game. And that game's going back and forth,
- 40:57Speaker 2: back and forth, back and forth.
- 40:58Speaker 1: I'm watching it. And then I got St. Brown and
- 41:02Speaker 1: I also have Olave on my fantasy team. So I'm
- 41:05Speaker 1: into it.
- 41:06Speaker 2: It's great.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Both of them have great games. And then, you know,
- 41:09Speaker 1: you get into overtime and New Orleans, they go for it.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Detroit goes down. They get seven. New Orleans gets back.
- 41:20Speaker 1: They get six. They can kick and, you know, either
- 41:23Speaker 1: in continuing overtime and now you're looking at the possibility
- 41:27Speaker 1: of a tie.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Pretty much a tie or.
- 41:29Speaker 1: A loss at that point because there's not a whole
- 41:30Speaker 1: lot of time left. Instead, they say, fuck it, we're
- 41:34Speaker 1: going for two. I love that decision. Love that decision.
- 41:39Speaker 1: But unfortunately, they kind of got blown up. Throw out
- 41:42Speaker 1: of the back of the end zone. To me, the
- 41:44Speaker 1: throw out of the back of the end zone, that's
- 41:45Speaker 1: the part that I hate. Just throw a ball that, like,
- 41:48Speaker 1: someone has a chance.
- 41:49Speaker 2: To make a catch. Like, fuck it. Let it get
- 41:51Speaker 2: picked off. It could get tipped.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Anything could happen, but just give it a fucking chance.
- 41:55Speaker 1: But that was an exciting game. Lots of good games
- 41:59Speaker 1: this week. You know, Baltimore looks really good.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Fucking Jesus, man.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I run a survivor pool, and it's week one, and
- 42:13Speaker 1: who do I pick?
- 42:14Speaker 2: The Chargers. Great. My dad was giving me shit. He said, yo,
- 42:20Speaker 2: I feel like three out of the last five.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Years, you've been out in week one. Now I just
- 42:24Speaker 1: get to run this shit. The most annoying one to run.
- 42:27Speaker 1: I wouldn't even have run it this year if it
- 42:28Speaker 1: wasn't for my dad being like, yo, you should do it.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Are you going to do it? Because he wants to
- 42:34Speaker 1: be involved, but he don't want to run it. And,
- 42:36Speaker 1: you know, every fucking week you're hounding people like, yo,
- 42:39Speaker 1: get your pick and get your pick in. Oh, you
- 42:41Speaker 1: didn't get your pick in on the early games. Now
- 42:42Speaker 1: you're going to pick one of the late games, blah, blah, blah.
- 42:44Speaker 1: It's just, it's annoying. It's by far the worst thing to,
- 42:47Speaker 1: and you have to, you can't have everybody just like
- 42:50Speaker 1: add it to a sheet because then some people add it.
- 42:53Speaker 1: And then another person gets to see that it's been added. Well,
- 42:56Speaker 1: you know what the other person picks. So they kind of,
- 42:58Speaker 1: I've got to all give it up to me. And
- 42:59Speaker 1: then when the game start, I add them all and
- 43:02Speaker 1: put it out there for people to see. And I
- 43:03Speaker 1: haven't even made a spreadsheet yet this week. Cause yeah,
- 43:06Speaker 1: I'll fucking do it when I feel like it.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Cause I'm annoyed. Cause I'm not in it. Very annoying.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Very annoying. But, um, yo man, uh, Going back is
- 43:21Speaker 2: always fun. Food was great.
- 43:24Speaker 1: I don't know why ethnic food is so much better
- 43:27Speaker 1: there than it is here. I mean, when I go
- 43:30Speaker 1: to a Chinese place here, it's Chinese people there, but
- 43:35Speaker 1: the Chinese food sucks.
- 43:37Speaker 2: But when I go to a.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Chinese place in New Jersey, food is great.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Chinese is great. So much better. I don't get that.
- 43:50Speaker 2: I don't get that.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Breakfast sandwich. Yo, I got a patty. I went to
- 43:56Speaker 1: this Guyanese place. It's called Dat's Deli.
- 44:00Speaker 2: It's in Queens.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Hollis. Right off the L-I-R-R Hollis stop.
- 44:10Speaker 2: And they had a beef patty with mac and cheese,
- 44:20Speaker 2: And Oxtail....
- 44:23Speaker 1: That shit was fucking fire... I was on a mission...
- 44:26Speaker 1: Because I've been seeing this shit on Instagram... Of shit
- 44:29Speaker 1: just like that... Where people are doing crazy shit with patties.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Like that I ain't never seen before in my life...
- 44:33Speaker 2: And I always see... It's always in Queens.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Queens is like the ultimate melting pot of the city...
- 44:39Speaker 1: They say especially like areas like Astoria... Ultimate melting pot
- 44:42Speaker 1: of the city... But yo... This patty... With this beef patty...
- 44:46Speaker 1: With the mac and cheese... And the oxtail, yo, off
- 44:52Speaker 1: the chain. That shit was so fucking good, yo. Had
- 44:57Speaker 1: cocoa bread on it, too. First half, I ate it
- 44:58Speaker 1: with the cocoa bread. Second half, I had it without
- 45:00Speaker 1: the cocoa bread. I preferred it without, actually. Shit was
- 45:04Speaker 1: so good. Also in Queens, I ordered from some Spanish spot,
- 45:08Speaker 1: and I got, it was like a plantain, like a plantain,
- 45:12Speaker 1: the whole joint split down the middle, and then in
- 45:15Speaker 1: the middle was just like, you know, like some ground beef,
- 45:18Speaker 1: with some, you know, obviously well-spiced and whatnot, well-seasoned, and
- 45:22Speaker 1: then had a couple, like, some peppers in there, some shit,
- 45:25Speaker 1: and then just, like, some cheese melted on the top.
- 45:27Speaker 2: That shit, I got that shit late night, and it
- 45:30Speaker 2: was off the chain. Fantastic.
- 45:32Speaker 1: The food is so much better, man. It's not even close. Yeah,
- 45:38Speaker 1: great time seeing the guys. Shout-out to my man Chad.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Shout-out to my man Chung. And also shout-out to the
- 45:42Speaker 1: Southern Queens Park Association, which my grandfather founded 50 years ago.
- 45:47Speaker 1: And they had their 50th anniversary gala, which I was
- 45:50Speaker 1: able to attend. I was very, very honored to be invited.
- 45:54Speaker 1: It was an amazing night. I learned some stuff about
- 45:56Speaker 1: my grandfather that even I didn't know. And it was
- 45:59Speaker 1: just a beautiful night, man.
- 46:01Speaker 2: It was humbling.
- 46:02Speaker 1: It was inspiring. And just a beautiful night. Yo, man,
- 46:11Speaker 1: these football teams, they got a chance to do something
- 46:13Speaker 1: this year, and we're going to find out how for
- 46:15Speaker 1: real they are.
- 46:15Speaker 2: They don't even.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Necessarily have to win. They just got to play well.
- 46:19Speaker 1: I mean, the Giants going up against the Rams. The Rams,
- 46:22Speaker 1: you know, they lose that first game. They're not going
- 46:24Speaker 1: to have Myles Garrett for at least the next four weeks.
- 46:28Speaker 1: He's on the IR with a knee surgery. I don't
- 46:33Speaker 1: know if Aaron Donald's playing.
- 46:34Speaker 2: I feel like he probably isn't going to. I don't
- 46:37Speaker 2: see any reason why you would want to rush him.
- 46:40Speaker 2: And they didn't look great against.
- 46:42Speaker 1: The 49ers out in Australia last week. And so the
- 46:49Speaker 1: Giants got a chance to, you know, if they come
- 46:51Speaker 1: out and they beat the so-called super team, everybody's going
- 46:54Speaker 1: to be like, yo, the Giants are for real. If
- 46:56Speaker 1: the Jets come out and they beat Green Bay, everybody's
- 47:00Speaker 1: going to be talking about the Jets being for real.
- 47:02Speaker 2: So let's find out. Let's find out. The Knicks. The Knicks.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Knicks have made some news here. Actually, first, let's do
- 47:11Speaker 1: Yankees clinch. Yankees clinch, and they now, like I said,
- 47:14Speaker 1: are in the postseason once again. You know, their bullpen
- 47:18Speaker 1: has been a whole lot better as of late, and
- 47:22Speaker 1: they finally got back Aaron Judge.
- 47:24Speaker 2: But, oh, wait, not so fast.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Today, Aaron Judge leads the game with some lower leg
- 47:31Speaker 1: stiffness or, you know, some sort of lower leg injury.
- 47:35Speaker 1: I don't know exactly what that means. I'm not one
- 47:40Speaker 1: of these, you know, like, Met fans who, like, hates
- 47:46Speaker 1: the Yankees. I have a lot of friends who are
- 47:49Speaker 1: Yankees fans, so therefore I, you know, we go back
- 47:53Speaker 1: and forth sometimes and have been since I was a kid.
- 47:58Speaker 1: But I just, you know, to me they don't matter
- 48:03Speaker 1: that much. I worry way more about, you know, the
- 48:05Speaker 1: Phillies and the Braves. Fucking Cardinals. These are the teams
- 48:10Speaker 1: that I hate. I don't feel that way about the Yankees. But,
- 48:13Speaker 1: I mean, I sat on, shout out to my man Chad,
- 48:16Speaker 1: diehard Yankee fan. I sat and watched Subway Series, Yankees
- 48:19Speaker 1: versus Mets with him this past Friday.
- 48:24Speaker 2: We watched the game.
- 48:25Speaker 1: We both enjoy our teams, but it's not like we're
- 48:27Speaker 1: at each other. And Juan Soto grounds out to end
- 48:32Speaker 1: the game. I might even have grounded into a double
- 48:34Speaker 1: play to end that game. when I'm pretty sure he
- 48:39Speaker 1: was the tying run. Maybe the tying run was on him.
- 48:43Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 48:43Speaker 1: But, you know, it was a big spot. And Juan Soto,
- 48:46Speaker 1: since he's been at the Mets, as much as, you know,
- 48:49Speaker 1: he's a great player and all that, he hasn't gotten–
- 48:55Speaker 1: he's allergic to the big hit. I heard Joe Benigno
- 48:57Speaker 1: talk about this the other day. He never gets the
- 48:59Speaker 1: big hit. Never gets the big hit. But my boy's not, like, so, like, all, like,
- 49:04Speaker 1: talking shit and, like, laughing about Soto, ha-ha, ever since
- 49:07Speaker 1: he's been to the Mets. Yo, man, on Twitter, man,
- 49:09Speaker 1: there's so many people like you Yankee fans. You're so
- 49:11Speaker 1: fucking obsessed with the Mets.
- 49:13Speaker 2: I don't understand. Enjoy yourself. Go try to actually win
- 49:17Speaker 2: a World Series. You're in the playoffs every fucking year.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Good for you. They seem so obsessed with the Mets sometimes.
- 49:23Speaker 1: Specifically, they're extremely butthurt about the fact that Juan Soto
- 49:29Speaker 1: chose us. Hey, man, we ain't got that much to
- 49:33Speaker 1: be excited about, but at least we got Soto for
- 49:36Speaker 1: the next decade plus, and he chose us. But just,
- 49:41Speaker 1: you know, worry about the Yankees and what y'all got
- 49:44Speaker 1: going on. Worry about the fact that Judge seems to,
- 49:47Speaker 1: you know, get hurt quite a bit. He is one
- 49:54Speaker 1: of the two most dynamic players in baseball when he's
- 49:56Speaker 1: on the field. It seems like every year he gets
- 49:59Speaker 1: an injury. And now, as we're, you know, 10 games
- 50:02Speaker 1: left until the postseason, he comes up lame again. I
- 50:05Speaker 1: hope he gets right.
- 50:07Speaker 2: I really do.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Because the Yankees have a team, I think, this year–
- 50:10Speaker 1: that is not so reliant on the home run.
- 50:13Speaker 2: They have legit pitching. They got the bullpen.
- 50:16Speaker 1: They got a team that I think could actually get
- 50:18Speaker 1: them to the point where they win a World Series,
- 50:20Speaker 1: but they can't do it without Aaron Judge. So Yankee
- 50:23Speaker 1: fans will be crossing their fingers and toes and saying
- 50:27Speaker 1: an extra prayer tonight that this injury with Judge is
- 50:31Speaker 1: not a big deal, but I feel like almost every
- 50:34Speaker 1: time that he comes up lame, it is a big deal.
- 50:36Speaker 2: And we know that Stanton.
- 50:38Speaker 1: You know, Stanton can't sneeze without throwing a hammy out.
- 50:43Speaker 1: He's wound way too tight. Clearly, Stanton is wound way
- 50:47Speaker 1: too tight. And, you know, you can't ever expect him
- 50:51Speaker 1: to be healthy. And, you know, we're not quite there
- 50:55Speaker 1: with Judge. But it could be on the horizon if
- 51:01Speaker 1: he continues. He's not Stanton level of injury prone, but
- 51:04Speaker 1: he does seem to get nicked up quite a bit.
- 51:08Speaker 1: And yeah, man, Yankees, that's what it comes down to.
- 51:13Speaker 1: They're not winning a World Series without Aaron Judge. So
- 51:16Speaker 1: hopefully it's not that serious. The New York Knicks, they
- 51:21Speaker 1: make a bunch of signings. Also before, Jalen Brunson, shout
- 51:26Speaker 1: to him real quick. You know, he's got the commercial
- 51:30Speaker 1: that just came out for the Emmys with Mariska Hargitre.
- 51:34Speaker 1: And they, and obviously those two, Brunson loved the show
- 51:40Speaker 1: growing up, and she's a huge Knicks fan. Her and
- 51:44Speaker 1: Taylor Swift and whoever those other girls were going crazy
- 51:47Speaker 1: during Game 4 was one of the famous images from
- 51:51Speaker 1: the infamous comeback. I shouldn't say infamous. From the famous
- 51:55Speaker 1: comeback and the tip-in by OG, and they make fun
- 52:00Speaker 1: of that in that commercial for the Emmys with Brunson.
- 52:04Speaker 1: And then, you know, Brunson, they just.
- 52:07Speaker 2: Showed, just rapped. an episode of SVU. Very cool.
- 52:12Speaker 1: Very interested to see what they're going to have Brunson
- 52:15Speaker 1: do in SVU. I mean, he's playing himself. Is he
- 52:18Speaker 1: playing somebody else? Is he playing the bad guy? Not
- 52:21Speaker 1: in SVU.
- 52:21Speaker 2: You can't... Not heinous sex crimes.
- 52:25Speaker 1: No, we can't have Brunson be doing any heinous sex crimes.
- 52:29Speaker 2: I'm sure his people wouldn't let him do that.
- 52:31Speaker 1: He's got a new marketing company. His mom is the...
- 52:36Speaker 1: His mom is the... executive director, something like that. And, um,
- 52:42Speaker 1: and his, uh, sisters, you know, hi, whatever, whatever.
- 52:45Speaker 2: Look up Jim.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Once he gets in a brand managing business with new
- 52:48Speaker 1: family venture, the new venture is called 33rd. And I've
- 53:01Speaker 1: 2018 draft. Brunson's mother, Sandra Brunson will be serving as president.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Eric Brunson working as a, Director of Classics.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Technical teammate and former.
- 53:15Speaker 1: And friend, Connor Cashel. Will be Director of Business Development.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Coming out in his family with a brand management business. Obviously,
- 53:26Speaker 1: his brand, I think, has been managed perfectly because they've
- 53:30Speaker 1: allowed him to develop and becoming the people's champ. He's
- 53:35Speaker 1: created a brand by what he's done on the court.
- 53:38Speaker 1: And now he is taking that to a whole new level.
- 53:43Speaker 1: He's getting to like, you know, Jeter status. I wish
- 53:46Speaker 1: I could use a Met or a Jet, but honestly,
- 53:49Speaker 1: he's getting to Jeter status. He really is because now
- 53:51Speaker 1: my dude is doing SVU. He's about to host SNL,
- 53:54Speaker 1: which I don't think Brunson would do that unless he
- 53:56Speaker 1: really felt like he had a chance to do a
- 53:59Speaker 1: good job. Like, I think that he's going to be
- 54:02Speaker 1: closer to Peyton Manning than he's going to be to
- 54:04Speaker 1: LeBron when it comes to you know, doing SNL. And
- 54:09Speaker 1: I think that, you know, he's always, you know, he's
- 54:11Speaker 1: going to prepare. And I'm just, I'm happy for him, man.
- 54:16Speaker 1: I'm happy that he's getting all his flowers, that he
- 54:19Speaker 1: is getting recognized and he's getting his fame. And I
- 54:23Speaker 1: don't for a second think it's going to take away
- 54:24Speaker 1: from this game. I saw him shoot the other day
- 54:31Speaker 1: at the brace off. He's taking jump shots. He's going
- 54:33Speaker 1: to be ready for the beginning of the season. The Knicks, today,
- 54:37Speaker 1: they were active the last couple days.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Five players. They got one open roster spot right now.
- 54:45Speaker 1: They have two open roster spots, but all of the
- 54:48Speaker 1: guys that they signed would all get vet minimums, which
- 54:51Speaker 1: would be the extent of the money that they have left.
- 54:54Speaker 1: So in the last two days, they have picked up
- 54:57Speaker 1: John Concher, drew eubanks i heard cp a franchise calling
- 55:02Speaker 1: them ebanks earlier i don't know if that's a nickname
- 55:05Speaker 1: i cp you know he's usually pretty on point so
- 55:08Speaker 1: if it's ebanks it's spelled eubanks i thought it was
- 55:10Speaker 1: eubanks but so i'm gonna go with eubanks but they
- 55:14Speaker 1: got him bruce brown um ochai agbaji and james wiseman
- 55:23Speaker 1: five guys competing for one spot i believe in two
- 55:26Speaker 1: spots i believe bakom.ea is out of here, I don't
- 55:31Speaker 1: see any of these guys being somebody that you give
- 55:34Speaker 1: up deuce for, to me, the only way you give
- 55:36Speaker 1: up deuce is if you're getting a legit, young, rim protector,
- 55:41Speaker 1: rim running center, and like legit, Diabate, some shit like that,
- 55:47Speaker 1: if not, then none of these guys you're giving up
- 55:49Speaker 1: deuce for, Conchar, He's a decent shooter, not great.
- 55:53Speaker 2: But they say he plays great defense.
- 55:54Speaker 1: Crazy floor game, like a first NCAA player with X
- 55:58Speaker 1: amount of points, rebounds, and assists of all time. I mean,
- 56:01Speaker 1: just total floor game, doggone defense. They say he has
- 56:04Speaker 1: potential to be an even better shooter. Eubanks, we saw
- 56:08Speaker 1: him in summer league. He can stretch the floor a
- 56:10Speaker 1: little bit. He's willing to protect the rim. He's not
- 56:12Speaker 1: a crazy athlete, but he does get rebounds, and he
- 56:15Speaker 1: does block shots.
- 56:16Speaker 2: And, you know, he's a big guy.
- 56:18Speaker 1: He's 6'10. And like I said, he can step out
- 56:20Speaker 1: and hit a 3-2. So I think that he is
- 56:23Speaker 1: a real possibility at the third center spot. James Wiseman,
- 56:28Speaker 1: number two overall pick. People keep, you know, look at
- 56:32Speaker 1: this guy's potential and wanting to be the team that,
- 56:35Speaker 1: you know, figures out a way to unlock it. But
- 56:37Speaker 1: with him, the big thing is can't stay on the floor.
- 56:39Speaker 1: This guy, I mean, he's less likely to play than
- 56:43Speaker 1: Joel Embiid. And we know that is saying something. So
- 56:48Speaker 1: with Wiseman, all the potential, obviously the frame, crazy ability.
- 56:54Speaker 1: You don't become a number two overall pick for no reason.
- 56:57Speaker 1: But it's going to be interesting to see whether or
- 57:00Speaker 1: not he can find a way to stay healthy.
- 57:08Speaker 2: Me versus my chair. I don't know. I think I've
- 57:10Speaker 2: gotten to the point where I've had this chair long enough.
- 57:12Speaker 2: I can get another chair.
- 57:13Speaker 1: I paid too much money for it. to just be like,
- 57:15Speaker 1: fuck it, I'm going to get a new chair. But
- 57:17Speaker 1: now at this point, I think we might have gotten
- 57:20Speaker 1: to that time. If I could take myself off punishment
- 57:22Speaker 1: and get a new chair, this chair, every once in
- 57:25Speaker 1: a while, it just sinks. A couple times in an episode,
- 57:28Speaker 1: I got to raise it back up. All of a sudden,
- 57:29Speaker 1: I don't even notice it. All of a sudden, I
- 57:31Speaker 1: just look and I realize that less of the words
- 57:33Speaker 1: on my shirt are showing or something.
- 57:35Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, fuck, my chair went down. But yeah, man.
- 57:40Speaker 1: Ochai Agbaje, I wasn't super familiar with his game. Former
- 57:44Speaker 1: lottery pick. I watch highlights of him. It just goes
- 57:46Speaker 1: to show you, you watch some highlights of anybody in
- 57:48Speaker 1: the NBA and you're like, yo, this dude is nice.
- 57:49Speaker 1: Motherfucker averaged five points a game.
- 57:52Speaker 2: But he can shoot. Seems like he's got a little
- 57:55Speaker 2: bit of athletic ability. Wing type. Could be interesting.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Bruce Brown, we know that he was a key contributor
- 58:03Speaker 1: on that Denver championship team a few years back. Since then,
- 58:06Speaker 1: he's bounced around a ton. He's honestly, he's been more
- 58:11Speaker 1: noticeable recently in the mustache and the cowboy hat while
- 58:19Speaker 1: sitting on the bench injured than he has been as
- 58:26Speaker 1: far as, you know, actual play or anything that he
- 58:29Speaker 1: does on the court.
- 58:31Speaker 2: I forgot to switch that. Yeah, man.
- 58:40Speaker 1: So it's going to be, it's going to be interesting.
- 58:43Speaker 1: And I think that Leon Rose, once again, it's a
- 58:46Speaker 1: masterclass because what he does is he creates competition, a
- 58:51Speaker 1: team that is coming back from a championship run. He
- 58:55Speaker 1: creates competition in camp because you have five guys competing
- 58:59Speaker 1: for one, maybe two spots, five veteran guys who feel
- 59:03Speaker 1: like they should be in a league and want a
- 59:05Speaker 1: shot to be able to be on a championship.
- 59:07Speaker 2: Level caliber team.
- 59:10Speaker 1: And so those guys are going to be competing with
- 59:11Speaker 1: each other they're going to be competing with the likes
- 59:13Speaker 1: of jordan clarkson and landry shamit and um deuce jose
- 59:21Speaker 1: alvarado they're going to be competing with those guys for
- 59:23Speaker 1: minutes And so it creates some competition, which I think
- 59:29Speaker 1: will go through the entire roster. And I think that's
- 59:31Speaker 1: a very good thing. James Wiseman, man, if you don't,
- 59:34Speaker 1: you know, you got to sit down with a guy
- 59:37Speaker 1: who battled a little bit more injuries. Nothing close to
- 59:40Speaker 1: the Wiseman scale, but battled some injuries earlier on and,
- 59:43Speaker 1: you know, has been much more healthy recently. So maybe
- 59:50Speaker 1: he can, you know, mentor this guy and we can
- 59:53Speaker 1: have him as a young project center on a vet minimum.
- 59:56Speaker 1: who gives us a real contribution where we don't have
- 59:58Speaker 1: to ask too much of him, keep him healthy, and
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: have him ready to go for a finals run, a
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: true rim protector, rim running center. And then Leon obviously
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: is positioning himself where at the trade deadline, we can
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: make a move. As we saw last year, a very
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: small move can pay huge dividends. Jose Alvarado, a lot
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: of Knicks fans wanted him. We talked about him for
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: a couple seasons at the trade deadline. Nobody was like, oh,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: my God, the Knicks won the trade deadline.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Well, guess what?
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: The Knicks won the trade deadline because Jose Alvarado won
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: us a finals game. Jose Alvarado, though the smallest guy
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: on the court, brought the Knicks some ball handling, some
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: ball pressure. And more than anything else, he brought the
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Knicks a moxie. He gave us a little bit of swag,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: a little bit of dog that we needed. And that
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: showed up. As soon as he got there, literally the
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: first game, somebody tried to like stepping over Mitch and
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: he was like, nah, nah, we not having that. Got
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: up in dude's face. We know that he'll square up
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: with a seven footer and hitting with a, you know,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: a chicken biscuit. So we already know that about him.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: He's a straight up New York kid and we needed him.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: It was a huge move. And if we don't have
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: exactly what we need, and we need something on the margins,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: or if we need, you know, a big piece. We
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: know Leon will make the move around the trade deadline
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: and get it done. Yo, man, we got some big
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: things coming. We're working some things out in the very
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: near future. You know, we're going to be a little
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: bit just more of a New York sports show, a
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: weekly New York sports show.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: It's going to be a co-host. It is somebody who is.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: A pretty big name in the Knicks Twitter space. Somebody
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: who I've had as a guest before and I don't
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: make these decisions lightly. There's not a whole lot of
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: people that I have the type of chemistry with that
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: I'd want to talk to every single week. My man
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: Bomb will still be the producer. Got three different people
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: with different schedules so Still figuring out some semantics or
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: some logistics, I should say. But we're going to get
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: it done, and we're going to bring you something. I
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: think that's going to be real special. We're going to
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: develop and evolve over time. But in the meantime, hit
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: that like, hit that subscribe. It's at Independent Nick on
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: all platforms, on X, you know, on X I'm probably
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: the most active just as far as like going back
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: and forth and talking shit I'm not really in the
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: comments on the other ones on YouTube if you comment
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: even in the replay gang I'll always respond we get
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: a lot more comments on the reels and a lot
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: more views on the reels honestly but that's just I
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: guess part of today's game and yeah if you got
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: something to say I'm going to respond I will respond
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: I promise I will respond I do not promise I
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: will be nice but yeah man it's another episode And
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: it's going to be an interesting next week for the
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: New York football teams. And then, you know, you got
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Yankees playoffs coming up soon. And you got Knicks training
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: camp starting in just 12 days. So, yeah, it's getting
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: to be that time of year.
