- 0:43Speaker 4: Hello, Roger.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Are you saying hello to yourself?
- 0:46Speaker 5: I'm saying hello to everybody that's.
- 0:48Speaker 6: Listening, dammit.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Alright, how you doing, Misty?
- 0:53Speaker 7: Say your name.
- 0:53Speaker 8: It's Marlena.
- 1:05Speaker 7: What was that again?
- 1:06Speaker 9: Hello, myself.
- 1:07Speaker 10: I don't have my opening line down yet, people.
- 1:09Speaker 8: Give me a break.
- 1:13Speaker 7: And that was Misty. I think you got lost in there.
- 1:15Speaker 11: Yeah, it's me.
- 1:16Speaker 8: Hey, how's it going?
- 1:17Speaker 7: It's Misty.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Oh, Lord.
- 1:19Speaker 7: So, yeah, as usual, we're batting the thousand here.
- 1:24Speaker 8: Darvis says this morning what do you want i mean.
- 1:26Speaker 9: Nice words lucky it's a whole handful they.
- 1:30Speaker 8: Were pink they match my.
- 1:31Speaker 7: Hair oh my god oh lord.
- 1:37Speaker 6: It's yeah just say no a little bit all righty
- 1:42Speaker 6: i guess uh we can roll into this week's geek
- 1:44Speaker 6: activities which they're they're quite a bit actually well we're
- 1:47Speaker 6: sort of backed up we got a two-week span there
- 1:50Speaker 6: to work with so um another day in the way
- 1:53Speaker 6: and all Yeah, so we're playing catch-up a little bit. But, yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 6: there was quite a bit in the last couple of days.
- 1:58Speaker 6: I guess I'll throw out the only thing I watched
- 2:00Speaker 6: was actually Leftover from a week before last. I did
- 2:03Speaker 6: finally watch Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
- 2:06Speaker 9: How'd you like it?
- 2:07Speaker 8: I thought it was funny.
- 2:08Speaker 9: That was funny. That was.
- 2:10Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll get to how I felt about it in
- 2:13Speaker 6: a minute. But first, Misty, you need to watch this.
- 2:16Speaker 8: Oh yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 2:17Speaker 9: Wait, you've not seen it? I've never seen this movie.
- 2:19Speaker 9: Why have you not seen it? Because you were like
- 2:20Speaker 9: all over Jason Mewes' nutsack.
- 2:22Speaker 6: And you see that and everything else in this damn movie.
- 2:25Speaker 6: You get all kinds of naked Jason Mewes in this movie.
- 2:28Speaker 7: You get corn.
- 2:29Speaker 8: So far I can't convince Jay to watch it.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Oh man.
- 2:31Speaker 9: That's because he's secretly excited that he wants to see it,
- 2:34Speaker 9: but he doesn't want to let on that he wants.
- 2:36Speaker 2: To see it.
- 2:36Speaker 8: Yeah, now that he's not here to defend himself.
- 2:37Speaker 12: Oh, whatever.
- 2:38Speaker 9: I'd say it if he's sitting right there. Yeah, you would, actually.
- 2:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:42Speaker 9: That doesn't stop me.
- 2:44Speaker 7: You're actually awake, so I'm kind of surprised so far.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:46Speaker 9: Because I took five Adderall. How about that? Took a
- 2:50Speaker 9: handful of Adderall.
- 2:50Speaker 7: Neener, neener, neener. Welcome to the movie Drugcast.
- 2:54Speaker 8: We're loaded.
- 2:56Speaker 6: I had a mountain, dude.
- 2:57Speaker 7: Does that count?
- 2:57Speaker 9: Oh, sir.
- 3:01Speaker 6: Oh, so yeah, as far as actually the movie itself,
- 3:04Speaker 6: I was kind of surprised. I really ended up liking it. Like,
- 3:07Speaker 6: I'd heard decent things about it, but it's probably the
- 3:10Speaker 6: most enjoyable movie of his, or the most well-made movie
- 3:14Speaker 6: of his, maybe since Chasing Amy.
- 3:16Speaker 7: Like, it's at least up there.
- 3:17Speaker 6: I still kind of like Dogma more than most people,
- 3:20Speaker 6: so it's probably right around.
- 3:21Speaker 7: That level at The last couple... The Morats, I'll tell you. Yeah, well...
- 3:25Speaker 7: I don't know about.
- 3:26Speaker 3: That, but.
- 3:27Speaker 7: Morats kicked ass.
- 3:28Speaker 9: I mean.
- 3:29Speaker 7: Jason Lee kicked ass.
- 3:30Speaker 9: Yeah, exactly.
- 3:31Speaker 7: But he carried that movie. London brought it.
- 3:33Speaker 8: Down because he's a London.
- 3:34Speaker 7: Because he's a London. They suck the life out of stuff.
- 3:37Speaker 7: Of every movie they've ever touched.
- 3:38Speaker 8: I like Dazed and Confused.
- 3:40Speaker 7: Yeah, but think how awesome it would be without a
- 3:42Speaker 7: London in it.
- 3:43Speaker 4: He was like the main character of the movie.
- 3:45Speaker 7: I know.
- 3:46Speaker 8: I can pretend he wasn't.
- 3:47Speaker 10: Wasn't he in Jason and the Argonauts or something like that?
- 3:50Speaker 12: Or.
- 3:50Speaker 7: Like one of those made for cable ones, I think.
- 3:53Speaker 10: Or no, it was a.
- 3:54Speaker 7: It was a sci-fi.
- 3:55Speaker 8: Original, wasn't it?
- 3:56Speaker 9: Oh, jeez.
- 3:57Speaker 7: TNT made or something.
- 3:58Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Oh, Lord.
- 4:01Speaker 6: So, yeah, he needs to stop. But I really ended
- 4:04Speaker 6: up liking Elizabeth Banks, too.
- 4:05Speaker 9: She's hot.
- 4:06Speaker 7: She's gorgeous. I have not been. I mean, she's attractive
- 4:09Speaker 7: and whatever.
- 4:10Speaker 9: But I've never been on board for her.
- 4:11Speaker 7: Yeah, I've never paid that much attention to her. It's
- 4:13Speaker 7: something about her in this movie. Like, she's just really
- 4:16Speaker 7: likable and dorky. And it kind of wins you over
- 4:19Speaker 7: if you're on the fence with her.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 4:21Speaker 6: I think we'll actually do it for anybody who's a
- 4:23Speaker 6: geek anyway because it's such a geek-friendly movie. I mean,
- 4:27Speaker 6: they do nothing but go out of their way to
- 4:29Speaker 6: embrace the Kevin Smith fans who are complete and utter geeks. Yeah,
- 4:33Speaker 6: it definitely works on that level. But I liked it
- 4:37Speaker 6: more than I thought I would.
- 4:37Speaker 10: I kind of feel like Justin Long made that movie
- 4:39Speaker 10: for me.
- 4:40Speaker 7: That's because you love gay porn.
- 4:44Speaker 8: You do.
- 4:45Speaker 9: Justin Long, oh, dude, his gay character is hilarious.
- 4:49Speaker 8: I can't even remember his name.
- 4:50Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't remember his name. I didn't even know
- 4:52Speaker 9: he was in it until I was like, oh, shit,
- 4:55Speaker 9: Justin Long. He is funny.
- 4:56Speaker 7: He is quite over the top.
- 4:57Speaker 8: His voice.
- 4:58Speaker 9: More like bend me over whatever like the name when
- 5:02Speaker 9: he's talking about the dames of the movies he's in
- 5:04Speaker 9: i was like oh really what movies you in like
- 5:06Speaker 9: you know this well more like i like the.
- 5:09Speaker 8: Voices the voice studies i will it's on our netflix
- 5:12Speaker 8: list i'll have to bump it to the top yeah.
- 5:14Speaker 9: It's good it's definitely worth a watch watch it when
- 5:16Speaker 9: jay leaves the house or something there just needed to
- 5:18Speaker 9: be of course and i wanted there to be nudity
- 5:20Speaker 9: in it besides besides jace what i got you know.
- 5:23Speaker 8: But Oh, well.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:27Speaker 6: I mean, for something about porn, it really is relatively
- 5:31Speaker 6: light in that area. I mean, the big scene is really.
- 5:35Speaker 7: And it is.
- 5:36Speaker 6: That's how you know, I mean, Kevin Smith is such
- 5:38Speaker 6: a sap. Because, I mean, that big scene between them
- 5:41Speaker 6: in the middle of making a porn... is actually like
- 5:43Speaker 6: kind of sweet and i'm like no wow it's like
- 5:47Speaker 6: it really is but it's like you don't they're so
- 5:50Speaker 6: busy selling his usual dick and fart jokes that it's
- 5:52Speaker 6: like that you really it does still kind of catch
- 5:54Speaker 6: you off guard because it's so.
- 5:56Speaker 7: Overwhelmingly you know laced with obscenities.
- 5:59Speaker 6: And his usual gutter humor and then like there's such
- 6:02Speaker 6: a sappy core to it that he's kind of gotten
- 6:03Speaker 6: away from since chasing amy he's really sort of straight
- 6:06Speaker 6: from that and it's kind of i think he's good
- 6:09Speaker 6: at that i think you know skip this cop out
- 6:11Speaker 6: bullshit and yeah get back to what he does best
- 6:14Speaker 6: even though i mean he doesn't get financial support when
- 6:17Speaker 6: he does it but oh well i think that's like
- 6:19Speaker 6: his strength.
- 6:20Speaker 7: Really so he should go back to that yeah that's
- 6:23Speaker 7: just me.
- 6:25Speaker 6: So that was pretty much all i well that's not
- 6:27Speaker 6: true i've watched a lot but i'm gonna go into
- 6:29Speaker 6: the other ones in other aspects later so i won't
- 6:32Speaker 6: elaborate on the rest but um Friday night, this past weekend,
- 6:36Speaker 6: I did go see The Empire's Play, which, you know.
- 6:39Speaker 9: Oh, was that one man, 37 characters? No, no.
- 6:44Speaker 6: If you don't know them in any other capacity, if
- 6:46Speaker 6: you're listening to this show, you'll know them as the
- 6:47Speaker 6: band who provides us with our kick-ass intro theme, so...
- 6:51Speaker 6: And the lead singer has.
- 6:52Speaker 8: The prettiest eyes. Oh, is he dreamy? He's so dreamy.
- 6:56Speaker 9: He is pretty cute.
- 6:57Speaker 7: I told him he was dreamy.
- 6:58Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 6:58Speaker 7: Oh, that's hot.
- 7:00Speaker 6: No, I did get to hang out with him before
- 7:02Speaker 6: the show, and that was cool because we haven't actually
- 7:04Speaker 6: seen him in person since the car show last year.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Oh, nice.
- 7:07Speaker 8: I had to sit next to him. I was distracted
- 7:10Speaker 8: because he had pretty eyes. Where's Jay during this?
- 7:14Speaker 9: Would you be saying this if Jay was sitting here?
- 7:16Speaker 9: I think he did, actually.
- 7:18Speaker 8: On the other side of here.
- 7:19Speaker 9: You're like, here, here, and you dump Jay out of
- 7:21Speaker 9: his chair, and you're like, you can sit here.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 7:26Speaker 10: You do have two arms, Misty. You need one on
- 7:29Speaker 10: this arm and one on this arm.
- 7:31Speaker 8: It's been ain't easy, but it sure is.
- 7:34Speaker 9: Assemble your stable of studs.
- 7:35Speaker 12: Hell yeah.
- 7:38Speaker 9: Oh, wow.
- 7:38Speaker 6: So, yeah, before the show, I got to hang out
- 7:40Speaker 6: with him. Marlena showed up at that point, and they played,
- 7:44Speaker 6: and they rocked, and that was cool. So you should
- 7:45Speaker 6: go see him if they come through your town. But
- 7:47Speaker 6: after that, I entered into my usual mode when I'm
- 7:50Speaker 6: out in the world, which I believe, according to Marlena,
- 7:52Speaker 6: I looked miserable.
- 7:55Speaker 9: I shunned the world and looked very unhappy.
- 7:57Speaker 7: Yes, I did. Do you have any other comments on
- 8:00Speaker 7: the evening?
- 8:01Speaker 12: Um.
- 8:03Speaker 10: Yeah, the two bands that played in between.
- 8:04Speaker 7: Yeah, pretty much.
- 8:07Speaker 4: But Bermondsey Joyriders, they were okay, but they played Runnin' Riot,
- 8:11Speaker 4: and I was really excited, and I think I was
- 8:13Speaker 4: the only person.
- 8:13Speaker 8: Like, woo, Runnin' Riot, yeah!
- 8:16Speaker 10: And everybody else was like, I don't know.
- 8:19Speaker 7: What's going on.
- 8:20Speaker 10: Which makes me wonder why they're there, you know?
- 8:23Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 8:23Speaker 6: I kind of wondered that once the crowd got in there,
- 8:26Speaker 6: because it was a pretty light crowd, and I kind
- 8:27Speaker 6: of felt bad, because they came from, like, England.
- 8:29Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 7: That's a long drive, dude, to get to here, and there's, like,
- 8:33Speaker 7: 12 people in the audience.
- 8:34Speaker 9: I felt bad for you.
- 8:34Speaker 8: But, I mean, like, they build it.
- 8:36Speaker 4: I wasn't able to listen to their music before the show.
- 8:40Speaker 10: So I didn't really know what I was in for.
- 8:42Speaker 4: But the band had ex-members of Coxbar and Chelsea, so
- 8:45Speaker 4: I kind of figured they'd be, like, old-school rock and
- 8:49Speaker 4: roll punk kind of stuff.
- 8:50Speaker 10: But they were more, like, just old-school rock and roll.
- 8:54Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 8:54Speaker 6: I at least gave them credit. I believed what they
- 8:57Speaker 6: were selling. They were old school rock and roll, but
- 8:59Speaker 6: they were really old. These were old guys.
- 9:02Speaker 7: They were sitting at the table beforehand with the merchandise
- 9:05Speaker 7: and I was like, who are these dudes? They're like 60s.
- 9:07Speaker 9: It's a band, man. They were.
- 9:12Speaker 7: They did play. They kicked ass. They were still old
- 9:14Speaker 7: dudes that know how to rock. As much as people
- 9:16Speaker 7: like to.
- 9:17Speaker 6: Give shit to people who get old and still continue
- 9:19Speaker 6: to play like the Rolling Stones.
- 9:21Speaker 7: I'm like, you know what?
- 9:22Speaker 9: If they can keep doing it.
- 9:23Speaker 7: Who cares?
- 9:23Speaker 3: Think about it.
- 9:24Speaker 9: That's all you've done your life. Just because you get older,
- 9:27Speaker 9: you're going to stop and do what?
- 9:29Speaker 10: I don't think they've been a band for very long.
- 9:32Speaker 8: I don't know much about them.
- 9:33Speaker 9: Oh, this version?
- 9:34Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 9:34Speaker 10: Like, I don't think they've been a band since, like,
- 9:36Speaker 10: the 70s or anything.
- 9:37Speaker 6: Just in general, though, anytime people are old and they
- 9:40Speaker 6: play rock and roll, people like to give them shit.
- 9:42Speaker 7: I'm just like, who cares?
- 9:43Speaker 9: I'm going to kick ass because you're still fucking doing it.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Right on.
- 9:46Speaker 7: You can do it.
- 9:47Speaker 12: Do it.
- 9:48Speaker 9: I mean, unless you've got walkers and... I mean, that
- 9:50Speaker 9: would be, like, geriatric. That's when it's like, come on now.
- 9:52Speaker 8: That happens sometimes.
- 9:54Speaker 7: Even then, that would be a theme band right there.
- 9:56Speaker 12: Yeah, definitely.
- 9:57Speaker 7: Come wheeling out in wheelchairs and shit.
- 9:58Speaker 12: It's like.
- 9:59Speaker 10: watching Iggy Pop play.
- 10:01Speaker 9: Oh, God, that pool.
- 10:03Speaker 7: He still runs around. He's crazy. He needs to keep
- 10:05Speaker 7: his shirt on, though.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Yeah, but he won't.
- 10:06Speaker 8: Nobody needs to see that shit.
- 10:07Speaker 3: That ain't gonna happen.
- 10:08Speaker 9: I wonder how many days of his life he's actually
- 10:10Speaker 9: worn a shirt. Like, maybe you can assemble it into, like,
- 10:12Speaker 9: two weeks of his whole life he's actually worn a shirt.
- 10:14Speaker 7: He only owns two shirts.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Yeah, really.
- 10:17Speaker 7: Look at my chest.
- 10:20Speaker 12: Oh, Lord.
- 10:20Speaker 6: So I guess we can get back to your stuff.
- 10:22Speaker 6: We're sort of intertwining some of these stories.
- 10:25Speaker 9: It's a big mess.
- 10:26Speaker 6: We'll get back to yours, I guess, if you have
- 10:28Speaker 6: any more. Then yesterday, Misty and I made our annual
- 10:31Speaker 6: visit to Wonderfest.
- 10:33Speaker 8: It's been many, many years.
- 10:34Speaker 9: Sorry I missed it.
- 10:35Speaker 7: I would have liked to have gone. Yeah, we decided
- 10:37Speaker 7: on probably the ninth one at least we went to.
- 10:41Speaker 8: My mom's been married for eight years now. That's how
- 10:44Speaker 8: I remember, since I made her postpone her wedding so that.
- 10:47Speaker 7: I could meet George Romero. That's so awesome.
- 10:50Speaker 8: And we went at least a year before that, so yeah,
- 10:52Speaker 8: I decided it's been at least nine years.
- 10:53Speaker 6: It's been at least nine trips there, and I think
- 10:55Speaker 6: I've been a few before that. So yeah, it's... It's
- 10:58Speaker 6: quite a festive ordeal.
- 11:01Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 11:02Speaker 9: Good costumes?
- 11:03Speaker 5: No.
- 11:03Speaker 7: Not that many. We're slacking this year. It was kind
- 11:07Speaker 7: of low-key this year. Like, even the crowd.
- 11:10Speaker 8: A handful of stormtroopers.
- 11:11Speaker 6: Which, I mean, in the past, I think we found out, like...
- 11:15Speaker 6: were almost, like, they were all connected to LucasArts. Like,
- 11:18Speaker 6: I don't know if somebody, like, issues them to these
- 11:20Speaker 6: kind of shows or something. Because remember, they wouldn't even, like,
- 11:24Speaker 6: take a picture with us. They didn't like what we
- 11:27Speaker 6: were doing. They couldn't let our cheesy... picture that we
- 11:30Speaker 6: were trying to take uh sully the fine name of
- 11:33Speaker 6: the stormtroopers and george lucas it was really weird yeah
- 11:36Speaker 6: like they really would not let us do that because
- 11:39Speaker 6: they were afraid they wouldn't get the suits back for
- 11:41Speaker 6: the next show or something weird.
- 11:42Speaker 9: Dude you're gonna lose it for me get away i know.
- 11:45Speaker 8: There were no obese darth vaders or princess leia's well that's.
- 11:48Speaker 6: No fun hmm that that's not a show really then
- 11:51Speaker 6: there was no princess leia's they'll.
- 11:53Speaker 7: Make up for that later though i'll get to another
- 11:55Speaker 7: story that you missed out on thankfully.
- 11:59Speaker 6: But um if nothing else we we got there and
- 12:02Speaker 6: it's you know it's a geek festival in and of
- 12:04Speaker 6: itself but once we got there not that she is
- 12:08Speaker 6: in every day of her life but misty was a superstar.
- 12:10Speaker 8: I was a superstar People love my geek tattoo. Two
- 12:15Speaker 8: people took pictures of it.
- 12:17Speaker 9: Oh, my God.
- 12:18Speaker 8: I know. One of them was the booth where I
- 12:19Speaker 8: originally got the temporary tattoo in the first place because
- 12:22Speaker 8: they did the art. Well, the guy who wasn't there
- 12:25Speaker 8: did the art. The guy who was there did the
- 12:27Speaker 8: art for the other tattoo that I didn't get.
- 12:28Speaker 7: So, yeah, good times.
- 12:30Speaker 9: Brian, how'd you get her ego out of the room?
- 12:32Speaker 6: It was actually kind of funny, though, because that's good.
- 12:37Speaker 7: But that's most dangerous.
- 12:38Speaker 12: Yeah, it is.
- 12:40Speaker 7: But it was kind of funny.
- 12:41Speaker 9: That's funny.
- 12:41Speaker 6: I told her yesterday, I was like, any other day
- 12:43Speaker 6: of the year, people's reaction is going to be, that's
- 12:46Speaker 6: not real, is it? You're going to get nothing but
- 12:49Speaker 6: horror at the thought of having a super geek tattoo
- 12:52Speaker 6: on your arm.
- 12:53Speaker 7: When you walk in there, you're like a queen.
- 12:55Speaker 6: Because not only do you have a Star Trek tattoo,
- 12:58Speaker 6: you're a girl with a Star Trek tattoo.
- 13:00Speaker 8: The look on the guy's face when he tried to
- 13:01Speaker 8: hand me the temporary tattoo, I'm like, no, I already
- 13:03Speaker 8: got one. And he looked at it, and he's like.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Oh, really?
- 13:08Speaker 7: Is that real? Oh, my God.
- 13:09Speaker 9: Is that real?
- 13:11Speaker 8: Like, you've really got that? Oh, my God. Bob's going
- 13:13Speaker 8: to make Bob's day right there.
- 13:16Speaker 9: That's hilarious.
- 13:17Speaker 7: It was made. It was made.
- 13:19Speaker 9: Awesome.
- 13:22Speaker 8: So, yeah.
- 13:22Speaker 7: Oh, yeah. So, that was quite entertaining watching the end.
- 13:25Speaker 8: And a Japanese guy wanted to take my picture in
- 13:27Speaker 8: very broken English.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Nice.
- 13:29Speaker 8: That's cute.
- 13:29Speaker 10: Japanese people want to take pictures of everything.
- 13:31Speaker 8: He had a sticker on his forehead.
- 13:33Speaker 7: Yeah, he had a price tag sticker on his forehead.
- 13:35Speaker 9: That's Japanese for you.
- 13:36Speaker 8: Decent price.
- 13:37Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 13:38Speaker 8: Do you have enough Asians in your house?
- 13:40Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 13:42Speaker 7: So, yeah, there was some pointing to a camera. Picture?
- 13:45Speaker 7: It's cute.
- 13:46Speaker 8: It's cute. Yeah.
- 13:49Speaker 3: They were fun.
- 13:49Speaker 7: I like those guys.
- 13:50Speaker 9: Going international.
- 13:52Speaker 7: Oh, man. But, yeah, so do we want to run
- 13:54Speaker 7: down all the highlights?
- 13:56Speaker 8: I'm apparently supposed to talk about Leanna Quigley and her
- 13:59Speaker 8: waxy face. She looked like a bad wax dummy. And
- 14:03Speaker 8: she reminded me of one of those dolls my mom
- 14:05Speaker 8: had in the attic with the hair where you pull
- 14:06Speaker 8: it and you wind her arm back up and her
- 14:08Speaker 8: hair pulls back in.
- 14:09Speaker 7: What?
- 14:10Speaker 9: That sounds freaking crazy.
- 14:12Speaker 8: She had this big mass of fake hair on the
- 14:14Speaker 8: back of her head.
- 14:14Speaker 7: Like one of those, I don't know what they're called.
- 14:16Speaker 8: Like a beehive kind of? No, it was just like
- 14:17Speaker 8: one of those rubber bands that you wrap around your head.
- 14:19Speaker 8: It had like the.
- 14:20Speaker 7: Hair braid sticker on it.
- 14:21Speaker 5: Oh my god, okay.
- 14:22Speaker 8: If I don't pull it, will it just make her
- 14:23Speaker 8: hair longer and can I wind it back up with
- 14:25Speaker 8: her arm?
- 14:26Speaker 7: Will it make that noise, too?
- 14:27Speaker 6: Because my cousin had one and I used to love
- 14:29Speaker 6: to just yank it out every time because it goes,
- 14:31Speaker 6: and it.
- 14:31Speaker 9: Just makes this noise like.
- 14:33Speaker 7: You're actually tearing her hair out of her head.
- 14:35Speaker 8: So wait, wait, wait.
- 14:36Speaker 9: Let me just kind of diverge. So the point of
- 14:38Speaker 9: this doll is you cut the doll's hair and then
- 14:40Speaker 9: it grows back? Or does it talk when you pull it?
- 14:42Speaker 8: No, you pull its hair out so it has long hair.
- 14:44Speaker 12: Okay.
- 14:44Speaker 7: And they can do like fancy braids. It pulls the hair.
- 14:47Speaker 8: Back into its head. I'm beginning to think that's all
- 14:49Speaker 8: she has in there is wound up hair because she
- 14:52Speaker 8: was just a train wreck.
- 14:53Speaker 9: And she was just frightening. What would I know her from?
- 14:56Speaker 7: Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Demons.
- 14:59Speaker 9: Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
- 15:01Speaker 7: Tons of stuff. She looked like she'd.
- 15:02Speaker 8: Done Return from the Living Dead and she failed.
- 15:05Speaker 9: Reckon this.
- 15:05Speaker 7: She just crawled out of the hole.
- 15:08Speaker 8: She's just, yikes. You're welcome, Randy.
- 15:12Speaker 6: Yeah, basically, that was for you, Randy, because at the
- 15:15Speaker 6: horror home before last, when she was there, he specifically
- 15:19Speaker 6: made a request that he wanted Misty to just, like,
- 15:21Speaker 6: stand there and talk about Lena Quigley.
- 15:24Speaker 7: So I told her yesterday, I was like, oh, there
- 15:25Speaker 7: she is. You're supposed to give them a whole little rundown.
- 15:27Speaker 8: I don't think I paid any attention. Last time I
- 15:29Speaker 8: saw her, because it was at a whorehound, it was
- 15:30Speaker 8: just a train wreck and you couldn't walk around.
- 15:32Speaker 7: I didn't see her.
- 15:32Speaker 8: I don't remember she.
- 15:33Speaker 7: No, she wasn't at the last one. She was at
- 15:35Speaker 7: the one in Cincy that I was at.
- 15:36Speaker 8: I wasn't at that one.
- 15:37Speaker 6: That's what I'm talking about. That's why you didn't get
- 15:39Speaker 6: a chance to talk about her that time. So we
- 15:41Speaker 6: made up for it yesterday, obviously.
- 15:42Speaker 8: I made more better fun of her yesterday. More better
- 15:45Speaker 8: fun of her yesterday. I think you missed it.
- 15:47Speaker 12: Yes.
- 15:48Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 15:49Speaker 4: I think.
- 15:51Speaker 7: Yeah, I think you just walked by and went, shiny.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Nice.
- 15:55Speaker 8: She was shiny, but not in a good way.
- 15:57Speaker 7: Like I said.
- 15:58Speaker 8: Bad wax dummy. I mean, I don't understand. Like, her
- 16:02Speaker 8: face just, like.
- 16:03Speaker 9: Too much makeup.
- 16:04Speaker 5: Glazed.
- 16:04Speaker 8: It's like you go to a wax museum and their
- 16:06Speaker 8: face has this weird, shiny, like, donut look to it.
- 16:09Speaker 7: Yeah, it's glazed.
- 16:10Speaker 8: I had donuts this morning for breakfast, too, so I
- 16:13Speaker 8: thought for a while I ate my donuts.
- 16:16Speaker 9: That's gross. Oh, my God.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Not in that way.
- 16:20Speaker 7: Just because they're both glazy and cheap.
- 16:23Speaker 8: Anyways, then we saw Lou Ferrigno, and he had big shoes.
- 16:26Speaker 3: I don't.
- 16:28Speaker 9: Know what that means, right?
- 16:29Speaker 7: He has big feet.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Yes, he does.
- 16:32Speaker 8: He was tall. He's a big man.
- 16:35Speaker 10: Imagine if he were, like, size 9.
- 16:36Speaker 6: Have you seen?
- 16:37Speaker 8: He's, like, ginormous.
- 16:39Speaker 9: I heard that he's kind of a jerk in real life.
- 16:41Speaker 9: Is he approachable? Did you all try?
- 16:43Speaker 7: I've heard stories like that, but no, I just.
- 16:45Speaker 9: I mean, I can understand anybody at any given time
- 16:48Speaker 9: could just be the wrong person.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:50Speaker 8: They did try to stop a chick from going into
- 16:53Speaker 8: the men's room, and it was a dude after all.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Oh, who?
- 16:57Speaker 9: Lou Ferrigno did?
- 16:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:58Speaker 7: This was pretty awesome, actually. That's so fucking awesome. I'm
- 17:02Speaker 7: walking down the hallway.
- 17:06Speaker 11: I'm walking down the hallway and we're getting ready to
- 17:11Speaker 11: go in the other bathroom so we stop in the
- 17:14Speaker 11: hallway and i see this this character walk past and
- 17:17Speaker 11: i was just like my reaction wasn't even like male or.
- 17:20Speaker 14: Female i was just i was just like surprised i
- 17:23Speaker 14: didn't know what it was i didn't really care what
- 17:24Speaker 14: it was i didn't question what it was i was
- 17:26Speaker 14: just like that's unattractive whatever gender you are that is unattractive.
- 17:30Speaker 9: I'm sorry.
- 17:31Speaker 7: So yeah, that's what it felt like. They were wearing
- 17:33Speaker 7: some sort of weird.
- 17:34Speaker 6: Cowboy hat and this horrible piece together outfit.
- 17:38Speaker 7: They almost looked like they were.
- 17:39Speaker 6: Homeless really and they just wandered in. So yeah, I
- 17:42Speaker 6: didn't pay attention to what it was. I just saw
- 17:44Speaker 6: it walk past and I saw a lot of things
- 17:46Speaker 6: that walked past and I had that reaction.
- 17:48Speaker 7: So I didn't really pay that much attention.
- 17:50Speaker 6: But they were walking down the hallway and they went
- 17:52Speaker 6: to go into the men's bathroom right as Lou Ferrigno.
- 17:56Speaker 7: Was coming out. And at that point, he stops. Like,
- 18:00Speaker 7: he kind of, like, just sort of puts his arm out.
- 18:02Speaker 7: And I see him saying something to him and pointing
- 18:04Speaker 7: to it. And then he just sort of, like, the
- 18:06Speaker 7: person walks past him. And he just sort of shrugs, like, whatever, weirdos.
- 18:11Speaker 3: That's awesome. Oh, my God.
- 18:15Speaker 7: That was pretty awesome.
- 18:16Speaker 8: Lou Ferrigno tells you you can't be a man enough
- 18:18Speaker 8: to go to a man's room.
- 18:19Speaker 7: That's something wrong. Oh my God. You just go use
- 18:22Speaker 7: the woman's restroom. Go use the corner.
- 18:24Speaker 3: That's what you do.
- 18:25Speaker 7: He has made the call. You go find a bush, Artie.
- 18:27Speaker 7: That's right. Head out in the parking lot, bitch.
- 18:31Speaker 6: Oh well let's see what so yeah among that one
- 18:34Speaker 6: there were several people that we were trying to decide
- 18:36Speaker 6: are they wearing really scary makeup no that's just their face.
- 18:40Speaker 7: Like the guy working the pretzel booth i'm glad i
- 18:42Speaker 7: didn't get my.
- 18:42Speaker 6: Pretzel yeah you probably didn't want a pretzel from that
- 18:44Speaker 6: guy because i really like i thought he had like
- 18:46Speaker 6: bad scary makeup on and then i went oh he's working.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Here jesus but i mean what did he look like
- 18:53Speaker 4: he's scary I.
- 18:55Speaker 8: Can't even describe it. I had to draw a picture.
- 18:58Speaker 7: There was kind of a pig nose involved.
- 18:59Speaker 8: Like he fell off the ugly tree.
- 19:01Speaker 9: Did he look like an Ugnaught?
- 19:03Speaker 7: He was like an Ugnaught serving pretzels. He had a
- 19:07Speaker 7: joker smile and a pig nose.
- 19:09Speaker 8: Oh my god.
- 19:11Speaker 7: See what I'm saying? I walked by and went, why
- 19:12Speaker 7: is that? Oh, that's not a costume. Never mind.
- 19:15Speaker 8: Half the people you see, they come in robes because
- 19:17Speaker 8: it's the only place they can blend in, I guess.
- 19:19Speaker 8: Which is frightening.
- 19:22Speaker 4: I don't care about movies or models, but No one knows.
- 19:26Speaker 10: No one judges me here.
- 19:27Speaker 7: Yes, here I fit in just fine.
- 19:31Speaker 8: What movie was that from?
- 19:32Speaker 3: Oh.
- 19:34Speaker 9: That's just your life. Not that I watch.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Family Guy, but I think that happened once on Family Guy.
- 19:39Speaker 4: He's like, whoa, look at this guy's costume. The guy had, like,
- 19:42Speaker 4: leprosy or something.
- 19:43Speaker 8: Oh, wow.
- 19:44Speaker 9: My zombie costume. It really looks like your face is
- 19:49Speaker 9: falling off. It is.
- 19:51Speaker 8: We did see the zombie guy walking down the street
- 19:53Speaker 8: on Barts Town Road.
- 19:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:57Speaker 8: He's homeless and only has one arm. I'm like, he
- 19:59Speaker 8: looks like a zombie.
- 20:00Speaker 7: And he has a limb. He has a limb. I'm
- 20:03Speaker 7: sure you've seen him. I've seen him several times.
- 20:06Speaker 9: Oh, my God.
- 20:07Speaker 7: If you're not paying attention, it does look like there's
- 20:08Speaker 7: a zombie outbreak.
- 20:09Speaker 8: He was wearing a long-sleeved shirt, too, so it was just, like, trailing.
- 20:12Speaker 9: Yeah, one waving arm in the breeze.
- 20:14Speaker 8: I was like, oh, my God, it is a zombie.
- 20:16Speaker 8: Holy shit. Good times.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 20:19Speaker 4: Well, when I lived on Clay Street, there used to
- 20:20Speaker 4: be this weird crackhead guy who would, like, They're fun.
- 20:24Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 20:24Speaker 4: He had, like, this seriously, like, bulging bloodshot out, and
- 20:27Speaker 4: he'd just, like, turn in circles nervously.
- 20:29Speaker 8: Oh, my Lord. And, like, he started coming.
- 20:32Speaker 10: Across the street after us, and I was like, oh, oh,
- 20:35Speaker 10: my God, oh, my God. And then he, like, turned around.
- 20:38Speaker 4: And then tried to hide behind this bush that was probably, like,
- 20:40Speaker 4: one-fourth of the size.
- 20:41Speaker 10: That he was.
- 20:43Speaker 7: I see me.
- 20:43Speaker 8: It's really funny.
- 20:44Speaker 3: I see me.
- 20:45Speaker 8: There was a homeless guy on Bardstown Road that told
- 20:47Speaker 8: us that the government stole all his clothes from the laundromat,
- 20:49Speaker 8: but we were okay. Hmm.
- 20:51Speaker 7: Yeah, we were okay. As long as you're okay.
- 20:53Speaker 8: Yeah. We seem like good people. That's what he told us.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:56Speaker 10: Have I ever mentioned this before?
- 20:57Speaker 4: Have you ever noticed that all crazy people have some
- 21:00Speaker 4: weird conspiracy involving the government?
- 21:02Speaker 10: It kind of makes you wonder, like.
- 21:03Speaker 7: Are they crazy? Maybe they're on to something. Well, no.
- 21:07Speaker 10: Are they crazy?
- 21:08Speaker 4: Or, you know, like, they always have this story how
- 21:10Speaker 4: I've heard a lot of crazy people say that they
- 21:13Speaker 4: were in the CIA and, like, the government fucked them horribly.
- 21:17Speaker 10: And now they're, like, homeless and, like, insane on the streets.
- 21:20Speaker 6: So, like, the government, when they're done with their agents,
- 21:22Speaker 6: they're lobotomizing them and then just dropping them off on
- 21:25Speaker 6: the streets?
- 21:25Speaker 9: Have you ever wondered that?
- 21:26Speaker 3: Really?
- 21:26Speaker 4: Because, I mean, like, if you think about it, I've
- 21:28Speaker 4: never met a homeless person that doesn't have some crazy
- 21:31Speaker 4: story about the government.
- 21:32Speaker 10: Or, like, not just a regular homeless person.
- 21:34Speaker 3: But, like, a crazy.
- 21:35Speaker 9: You often hang out with homeless people?
- 21:36Speaker 8: Like, a crazy.
- 21:37Speaker 10: I work on Spring Street in Jeffersonville.
- 21:39Speaker 5: Yes.
- 21:40Speaker 8: Yes, the answer is yes.
- 21:42Speaker 3: God.
- 21:44Speaker 10: Across the street from a mental health facility.
- 21:46Speaker 12: I know.
- 21:46Speaker 9: Maybe it's a program the government is actually injecting homeless
- 21:50Speaker 9: people into society to see what they cause, like the reactions,
- 21:55Speaker 9: maybe gathering info.
- 21:56Speaker 6: There's too many theories here.
- 21:59Speaker 4: I can't even count on one hand how many crazy
- 22:02Speaker 4: people I've encountered that go on a tangent about the government.
- 22:05Speaker 9: In San Francisco, it was rampant. But it's like drug.
- 22:09Speaker 9: It's kind of like drug- i don't know everyone has
- 22:11Speaker 9: their corner you know that's like that's your your spot
- 22:14Speaker 9: and if you're homeless this is your corner yeah and
- 22:17Speaker 9: if other homeless people try and come in on your
- 22:19Speaker 9: turf you know it's problems but there's so many raving
- 22:22Speaker 9: lunatics and yeah they all have some crazy spin about
- 22:26Speaker 9: the government what they've been done or whatever and then
- 22:28Speaker 9: religion is always sprinkled in there there's a nice smattering
- 22:31Speaker 9: of that.
- 22:31Speaker 7: Like it's even more trouble than jesus.
- 22:33Speaker 4: If i disappear without a trace it's probably the government
- 22:38Speaker 4: just for bringing that up.
- 22:39Speaker 6: So you'll be in san francisco somewhere yeah they'll drop
- 22:43Speaker 6: you off.
- 22:43Speaker 7: At the other end of the country homeless in ukraine.
- 22:47Speaker 8: All right back to wonder fast.
- 22:49Speaker 6: Well let's see yeah we had the guy that misty
- 22:52Speaker 6: was convinced had his hair held down by model glue i.
- 22:56Speaker 8: Said it was part of the models exhibit because it
- 22:58Speaker 8: was just i'm not even sure what the hell was
- 23:00Speaker 8: going on there i think it was just I don't
- 23:02Speaker 8: even know.
- 23:02Speaker 9: Bad.
- 23:03Speaker 8: It was horrible.
- 23:05Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 23:06Speaker 8: I can't. It was a plastic and glued down. Yeah,
- 23:09Speaker 8: and then there was the other comb forward that started
- 23:12Speaker 8: at the nape of his neck and just went all
- 23:14Speaker 8: the way around. That was pretty exciting. What was it?
- 23:15Speaker 8: It was a comb over that started way back here.
- 23:18Speaker 9: Oh, the nape of his neck.
- 23:20Speaker 5: Dad.
- 23:21Speaker 9: Like a swirly.
- 23:23Speaker 8: It all came forward and then it was a slight
- 23:26Speaker 8: curve kind of chook chook.
- 23:27Speaker 10: Over yeah no one's gonna notice that you're bald on
- 23:29Speaker 10: top yeah I.
- 23:30Speaker 8: Think I pointed out everybody's wigs too while we were
- 23:32Speaker 8: there like dude I bet that guy's hair's not really
- 23:34Speaker 8: loose I bet that guy I bet his is.
- 23:35Speaker 10: Yeah I pointed a lot too yeah there's nothing that
- 23:37Speaker 10: bad about being just bald I.
- 23:38Speaker 9: Go right next to you check him out Misty does
- 23:40Speaker 9: that I do.
- 23:41Speaker 7: Yes many times that's why.
- 23:43Speaker 8: They never take me out to places anymore yeah.
- 23:46Speaker 6: You can get away with it there cause you can
- 23:48Speaker 6: take them off yeah they're all dorks you can take
- 23:51Speaker 6: them out yeah But I have to give credit. I
- 23:55Speaker 6: pointed this out, and I've pointed it out several years
- 23:57Speaker 6: in a row now because it's increasing and getting better,
- 24:00Speaker 6: at least from my standpoint. I'm always impressed, having been
- 24:03Speaker 6: there this many years, the now number of girls that
- 24:07Speaker 6: are there.
- 24:08Speaker 7: It's kind of awesome, actually.
- 24:09Speaker 6: So if you're a girl out there and you're moving
- 24:11Speaker 6: into the geek territory, more power to you.
- 24:13Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 24:14Speaker 6: It's always amazing because going, you know, that first year
- 24:18Speaker 6: or two, like, Misty was it.
- 24:20Speaker 7: Like, you were the one in the building. You were
- 24:22Speaker 7: the girl there. So now there's, I mean, there's a
- 24:25Speaker 7: good portion.
- 24:26Speaker 6: It's still not the, you know, an overwhelming amount, but
- 24:30Speaker 6: it's impressive how much that's changed in the last few years.
- 24:34Speaker 7: So good going, Geek Girls. Keep showing up.
- 24:36Speaker 8: Should we talk about the shirt that I now want
- 24:38Speaker 8: that I saw earlier? It was the most awesomest shirt
- 24:40Speaker 8: in the world.
- 24:41Speaker 7: That is awesome.
- 24:42Speaker 8: It said Edward and Bella.
- 24:44Speaker 7: But it had Bela Lugosi holding Edward's head.
- 24:47Speaker 8: And it said, the sparkling stops now. It made me laugh.
- 24:52Speaker 7: I stalked that guy.
- 24:53Speaker 6: We did follow him around for a minute because I
- 24:55Speaker 6: hadn't seen the front of it. I was like, dude,
- 24:56Speaker 6: hold still. I'm trying to see your shirt.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Turn around.
- 24:59Speaker 7: I'm trying to give you geek points for now, I'd say.
- 25:01Speaker 8: That was awesome. That was the most awesome shirt. I
- 25:03Speaker 8: went home and tried to find it on the internet.
- 25:05Speaker 8: I ended up buying me a Bubo shirt instead.
- 25:08Speaker 9: The what?
- 25:08Speaker 7: Super geek.
- 25:09Speaker 8: Bubo.
- 25:10Speaker 9: Like the mechanical owl Bubo?
- 25:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:12Speaker 9: There's a shirt?
- 25:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:13Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 25:14Speaker 9: That's awesome.
- 25:14Speaker 7: There was a bobblehead yesterday.
- 25:15Speaker 8: It's not officially licensed. It was labeled as that one
- 25:19Speaker 8: bird from that one movie.
- 25:20Speaker 9: Yeah, that's good. There are ways around it.
- 25:22Speaker 7: That's how you get away with that shit.
- 25:24Speaker 8: Love Etsy.
- 25:24Speaker 9: Clockwork Hoot.
- 25:26Speaker 6: But I did want to point out, I went back
- 25:27Speaker 6: later that night for other events, and you can see
- 25:30Speaker 6: how the Geek Girl curve fell off.
- 25:33Speaker 9: All the.
- 25:34Speaker 7: No chicks. All the cool points that.
- 25:36Speaker 6: I guess it's cool to go hang out while the
- 25:38Speaker 6: celebrities are there and look at all the merchandise, but
- 25:40Speaker 6: obviously it's not cool to go back and do the
- 25:43Speaker 6: super late-night geeky events, the banquets and panels and, like,
- 25:46Speaker 6: super geeky stuff because, man, when I got in that
- 25:50Speaker 6: room and looked around... Meat locker.
- 25:52Speaker 7: I swear, I assumed they had a vagina detector at
- 25:54Speaker 7: the door because I was like, sorry, man, move along.
- 25:57Speaker 7: This is not for you.
- 25:58Speaker 8: I went to one of the late-night movies once.
- 26:00Speaker 7: It was the one with the.
- 26:02Speaker 10: Dr.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Gangrene. Yeah.
- 26:04Speaker 8: There were several chicks there, I thought, when I went.
- 26:06Speaker 9: If you say so.
- 26:06Speaker 7: But it's been a couple years ago. And maybe that
- 26:08Speaker 7: one was different.
- 26:09Speaker 6: Maybe this was just a different crowd. Because, I mean,
- 26:11Speaker 6: it was nothing but older, dorky-looking, mostly hefty guys. It's
- 26:16Speaker 6: like they took the comic book guy from Simpsons and
- 26:19Speaker 6: just cloned him a hundred times.
- 26:21Speaker 12: Wow.
- 26:22Speaker 6: It was scary and sad. And what was most sad
- 26:25Speaker 6: is that I was there. I'm fitting right in.
- 26:29Speaker 3: So, yeah.
- 26:30Speaker 6: Other than that watched a cool documentary that i will
- 26:32Speaker 6: get to later but that's tons of stuff and we've
- 26:35Speaker 6: crossed over many times so i guess uh anyone else
- 26:38Speaker 6: want to throw other things in here at this point.
- 26:40Speaker 9: What did you do roger um i've been working my
- 26:44Speaker 9: ball sack off excuse me for the past couple weeks
- 26:47Speaker 9: so i haven't really had a chance to like see
- 26:48Speaker 9: anything new which sucks just you know re-watch old movies
- 26:51Speaker 9: that i have that are good that's why i own
- 26:54Speaker 9: them but almost on Mother's Day, got to see Wyvern.
- 26:59Speaker 3: Wait, wait, wait.
- 27:00Speaker 9: No, was it Manticore?
- 27:02Speaker 8: Or was it.
- 27:03Speaker 9: I think it was Wyvern on the sci-fi channel. You know,
- 27:08Speaker 9: one of their made-for-TV mythical beasts shows. Manticore does sound familiar.
- 27:15Speaker 9: It kind of got to the point where they're in
- 27:17Speaker 9: Afghanistan or something, and of course, they're insurgents and all
- 27:20Speaker 9: kinds of this bullshit, and then an amulet was found,
- 27:23Speaker 9: and That summons the Manti Wyvern.
- 27:28Speaker 7: This is not convoluted at all.
- 27:30Speaker 8: No, not at all.
- 27:32Speaker 9: But I didn't get to finish the end of it
- 27:34Speaker 9: because I just couldn't. I was like, I'm done. I
- 27:37Speaker 9: can't do those movies anymore. The ones I've seen are fun,
- 27:39Speaker 9: like Basilisk and stuff like that. But I'm just like,
- 27:41Speaker 9: I'm over them.
- 27:43Speaker 7: I can't do it anymore.
- 27:44Speaker 9: And other than that, I don't have anything... geeky or
- 27:47Speaker 9: amazing or stu-tabulous to talk about. Luckily we had tons
- 27:51Speaker 9: of geeky stuff going on. Yeah, I'm glad you're not
- 27:53Speaker 9: filling up the time because I got nothing.
- 27:56Speaker 8: My turn now. I only watched two movies.
- 27:58Speaker 9: No, I'm not done.
- 27:59Speaker 8: Oh, son of a bitch.
- 28:00Speaker 2: I'm done.
- 28:01Speaker 7: You kids settle down.
- 28:03Speaker 9: Slap fight.
- 28:05Speaker 8: Well, anyways, I only watched two movies this week, and
- 28:08Speaker 8: they both came courtesy of the Sci-Fi Channel.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 28:10Speaker 8: I watched Black Swarm, which was not a black exploitation movie.
- 28:16Speaker 8: It was a movie about wasps. they were genetically altered
- 28:22Speaker 8: by robert england apparently.
- 28:24Speaker 7: Not even in the movie in the real world that's
- 28:26Speaker 7: what he does just by robert england.
- 28:28Speaker 8: Yeah anyway while tammy lives wasp and apparently they stink
- 28:32Speaker 8: people and then they go in their brains and they
- 28:34Speaker 8: take over and people become drone like and.
- 28:37Speaker 9: Yeah this could be interesting they start exhibiting wasp like
- 28:40Speaker 9: mannerisms They start rubbing their ass, like poking their asses
- 28:45Speaker 9: on people.
- 28:46Speaker 7: They just do that on the subway.
- 28:48Speaker 3: Stop!
- 28:50Speaker 8: Oh, wait.
- 28:51Speaker 7: But those guys had no problem with that.
- 28:52Speaker 8: Yeah, but then they just had the most convoluted backstory
- 28:55Speaker 8: about a girl who moved back into town where there.
- 28:57Speaker 7: Was the twin brother of the guy she married. Sure
- 28:59Speaker 7: was very complicated.
- 29:00Speaker 8: She had originally wanted to marry this brother, but then
- 29:02Speaker 8: the other brother died, so she ended up with the
- 29:03Speaker 8: other brother. It's a big old fucking mess.
- 29:05Speaker 9: Does the other brother come back at the end?
- 29:07Speaker 7: I'm not really done.
- 29:08Speaker 8: No.
- 29:09Speaker 12: Damn.
- 29:09Speaker 7: That never happened.
- 29:11Speaker 8: Actually, I don't remember the very end. I might have
- 29:13Speaker 8: at the very end, Brian called, and I missed the
- 29:14Speaker 8: very end of the movie, so it could.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Have gone off. Sorry.
- 29:18Speaker 8: But then, yeah, I did get to watch fully Mongolian
- 29:21Speaker 8: death war.
- 29:22Speaker 6: Which because I called you you told me it was
- 29:24Speaker 6: coming on and then I started watching it so thanks
- 29:27Speaker 6: a lot death worm.
- 29:28Speaker 8: I'm pretty sure Sean Patrick Flannery is trying to take
- 29:31Speaker 8: over Corin Nemec's role at uh at sci-fi right there
- 29:34Speaker 8: this is like at least two that I've seen now
- 29:36Speaker 8: that involve Sean Patrick Flannery.
- 29:38Speaker 6: He's moving in on his territory I think there needs
- 29:40Speaker 6: to be a slap fight between those two.
- 29:41Speaker 9: That's what I think. He's not in his niche, you know.
- 29:43Speaker 8: I don't know who to take to. I mean, Corin Nemec, yeah,
- 29:46Speaker 8: at least he doesn't have too much Botox where you
- 29:47Speaker 8: can actually see his face. Sean Patrick Flannery, you need
- 29:49Speaker 8: to lay off that shit. Sorry.
- 29:51Speaker 10: I mean, what's wrong with a man getting old? That's
- 29:54Speaker 10: not that big of a deal.
- 29:55Speaker 3: It works.
- 29:56Speaker 7: It works usually better for guys. I mean, women have that.
- 30:00Speaker 6: Hollywood specifically is against you when you get old. But guys,
- 30:03Speaker 6: you can be.
- 30:03Speaker 9: You get more rugged and.
- 30:04Speaker 6: Yeah, you can be a lady man until you're 60
- 30:07Speaker 6: and still skate by on that without.
- 30:10Speaker 9: Young chicks in movies.
- 30:11Speaker 7: Yeah. Girls that are like 25 are your leading lady.
- 30:14Speaker 7: So it's... Yeah, it's weird. And I'm pretty sure Sean
- 30:16Speaker 7: Patrick Flyer, he was gorgeous.
- 30:18Speaker 8: He would have aged relatively well had he not gone
- 30:20Speaker 8: for this over-botoxed look. And his forehead does not move
- 30:25Speaker 8: through the entire... I think there's maybe one time where
- 30:27Speaker 8: it almost moves and I was like.
- 30:30Speaker 7: But he had his hands. He was moving it by hand.
- 30:33Speaker 7: I don't know what his deal is.
- 30:35Speaker 8: To me, whenever I hear him talk, all I hear
- 30:37Speaker 8: is Nathan Fillion. I can't watch Sean Patrick Flannery and
- 30:40Speaker 8: not hear Nathan Fillion's voice. I don't know why. Aside
- 30:43Speaker 8: from Boondock Saints, whenever I hear Sean Patrick Flannery talk,
- 30:46Speaker 8: it sounds just like Nathan Fillion.
- 30:48Speaker 7: So do you think he's purposely trying to do it?
- 30:51Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 30:51Speaker 7: Or they're writing stuff for Nathan Fillion and they can't
- 30:53Speaker 7: afford it.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:54Speaker 8: I don't know what's a combination of both because everything
- 30:56Speaker 8: in his voice sounds just like it.
- 30:58Speaker 7: Like if you close your eyes, I would picture Nathan Fillion.
- 31:01Speaker 8: Not even just the words that are coming out, just
- 31:03Speaker 8: his tone, his inflection, everything sounds just like him. Maybe
- 31:07Speaker 8: that's just me. I don't know who Nathan Flea has.
- 31:09Speaker 8: From Firefly or Serenity.
- 31:11Speaker 7: Slither.
- 31:12Speaker 13: Slither.
- 31:13Speaker 8: I love him in Slither.
- 31:14Speaker 7: Slither.
- 31:15Speaker 8: I watched about one minute of The Messengers and girl
- 31:18Speaker 8: bit her lip twice.
- 31:20Speaker 7: Kristen Stewart.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, she does. In a minute. In a minute.
- 31:23Speaker 8: I was like, I didn't even watch it. She bit
- 31:25Speaker 8: her lip twice.
- 31:26Speaker 9: I'm surprised you got that far.
- 31:28Speaker 8: I've seen it before, before I knew what she was.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Oh, really?
- 31:31Speaker 7: Back in the day.
- 31:31Speaker 9: Before the hatred grew.
- 31:33Speaker 7: Before the evil.
- 31:34Speaker 8: I was looking at the channels last night, and she
- 31:35Speaker 8: was on there.
- 31:36Speaker 4: It has Aiden from Sex and the City, as I've
- 31:38Speaker 4: been told by everybody who.
- 31:39Speaker 10: Watches Sex and the City.
- 31:40Speaker 7: I've never seen Sex and the City. A lot of
- 31:42Speaker 7: guys do, I know.
- 31:42Speaker 10: A lot of guys. A lot of manly men that
- 31:45Speaker 10: I know love Sex and the City.
- 31:46Speaker 4: I don't know, because it's girls talking about their twats
- 31:49Speaker 4: or something.
- 31:49Speaker 7: Yeah, but look at who it is.
- 31:53Speaker 9: Camp Control is the only reason that there would be
- 31:56Speaker 9: to watch that show.
- 31:57Speaker 7: I'm kind of the opposite.
- 31:58Speaker 8: The darker chicks.
- 31:59Speaker 7: Yeah, the Kristen Davis or whatever. She's cute.
- 32:03Speaker 10: She's older, too, so she looks good for her age.
- 32:05Speaker 6: She didn't have a forced face. And the lesbian girl
- 32:08Speaker 6: was cute when she was like 15. When she was
- 32:10Speaker 6: a little kid in that movie, she was actually still cute.
- 32:12Speaker 9: Is that that red-headed chick?
- 32:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 6: See, now she's just old. How was it a surprise
- 32:17Speaker 6: to anybody that she was gay? But when she was
- 32:19Speaker 6: a kid, when she was in the movie, she was
- 32:21Speaker 6: actually cute. The other two I can live without for
- 32:24Speaker 6: the rest of my life. every time that's how I
- 32:27Speaker 6: know I'm in trouble because I keep seeing the Sex
- 32:29Speaker 6: and the City 2 trailer and they see that first
- 32:32Speaker 6: shot of Sarah Jessica Parker in that tuxedo and it's
- 32:37Speaker 6: a knee jerk reaction I don't think about it I
- 32:39Speaker 6: see that on the screen and I go ugh it
- 32:41Speaker 6: looks like a foot I just had like I realized
- 32:45Speaker 6: like that's why I know I have such a bad
- 32:47Speaker 6: natural reaction to that because it's not a conscious thing
- 32:50Speaker 6: i don't think about it and go i don't want
- 32:52Speaker 6: to see that i immediately knee jerk go oh oh
- 32:56Speaker 6: ah get her off the screen she looks like a
- 32:58Speaker 6: god just yeah she does look like a knotted up
- 33:01Speaker 6: piece of the wood.
- 33:02Speaker 7: Something something went wrong because she used to be again.
- 33:06Speaker 6: That was another one about 91 she was still cute
- 33:09Speaker 6: la story la story story she was really sandy she
- 33:13Speaker 6: was the last time she was.
- 33:14Speaker 4: Cute The only time I ever thought she was pretty
- 33:16Speaker 4: is when you put her next to Bette Midler and
- 33:18Speaker 4: Kathy Najimy or.
- 33:20Speaker 7: Naomi or however you.
- 33:22Speaker 10: Pronounce her name. I thought she was really cute in
- 33:24Speaker 10: Hocus Pocus, but I mean.
- 33:26Speaker 9: Only in between those two.
- 33:27Speaker 8: Dude, I love that movie.
- 33:28Speaker 10: I would watch that movie right now.
- 33:30Speaker 8: Never seen that movie.
- 33:31Speaker 10: That movie's fucking nice.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:33Speaker 7: You need to watch it.
- 33:34Speaker 10: The guy in the movie, the kid, he is so cute.
- 33:36Speaker 7: When you're the hot one out of that trio, that's
- 33:38Speaker 7: not so much.
- 33:40Speaker 4: I thought she was so pretty, but now I go
- 33:42Speaker 4: back and watch it and I'm like... Yeah, when you're
- 33:45Speaker 4: starring next to Bette Midler, you're going to be the
- 33:47Speaker 4: hot one.
- 33:47Speaker 8: I think that pretty much wraps mine up. All I
- 33:51Speaker 8: watched in its entirety was Mongolian Death Worm.
- 33:54Speaker 7: Yeah, it was fun.
- 33:56Speaker 8: I'll give it that much.
- 33:57Speaker 9: Was it a giant worm, like a tremor-type worm, or
- 33:59Speaker 9: was it small?
- 34:00Speaker 7: It was a very tremorous field.
- 34:03Speaker 8: Yeah, it ate a lot of people.
- 34:05Speaker 9: Sci-Fi had that other movie, wasn't it just called Worms
- 34:08Speaker 9: or something? I saw it was like giant worms in
- 34:11Speaker 9: the desert, and I was like, I've seen it. seen
- 34:12Speaker 9: this before.
- 34:13Speaker 10: Did I say sandworms?
- 34:14Speaker 1: Yes.
- 34:14Speaker 9: Sandworms.
- 34:16Speaker 7: You know, I hate them. That was your line yesterday.
- 34:19Speaker 10: Totally watched Beetlejuice last week.
- 34:21Speaker 9: Oh, word.
- 34:22Speaker 8: Nice. I'm still waiting for my bootleg copy of it
- 34:24Speaker 8: on Cartoon. I'm pretty sure I got ripped off.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Scam.
- 34:27Speaker 8: Hey, I just knocked out my Beastmaster 2 and 3
- 34:29Speaker 8: DVDs after waiting a month and a half.
- 34:31Speaker 5: Nice.
- 34:32Speaker 8: And my fault, the guy's kid died.
- 34:33Speaker 12: Sir.
- 34:35Speaker 10: His kid died?
- 34:36Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 34:38Speaker 9: Oh, how caring that was.
- 34:40Speaker 8: All I'm saying is if you can't be selling shit,
- 34:42Speaker 8: don't be selling shit.
- 34:43Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 34:44Speaker 8: Remove your shit from the internet. Don't sell stuff if.
- 34:46Speaker 7: You can't send it. You know what helps crying about
- 34:49Speaker 7: your dead child? Sending me stuff.
- 34:51Speaker 9: That I bought.
- 34:52Speaker 7: Shipping me my stuff.
- 34:54Speaker 9: Shipping me my stuff.
- 34:55Speaker 11: I'm heartless.
- 34:57Speaker 12: Whatever.
- 34:57Speaker 8: All right, Marlena's turn.
- 35:00Speaker 10: Well, I mentioned I watched Beetlejuice, but it was on TV.
- 35:03Speaker 8: It was cut to hell.
- 35:06Speaker 6: They took the fuck out, but they took that out
- 35:08Speaker 6: a long time ago when Disney bought them.
- 35:10Speaker 7: Give me the gun, you fairy godmother. That's not Beetlejuice
- 35:14Speaker 7: at all.
- 35:14Speaker 3: I know.
- 35:14Speaker 7: That's my edited version of watching Usual Suspects. Sorry, I
- 35:18Speaker 7: interrupted you.
- 35:21Speaker 3: That's okay.
- 35:23Speaker 4: I watched this movie called Sorority Row. it was made
- 35:26Speaker 4: in the 80s sometime and any movie about girls that
- 35:31Speaker 4: live in a sorority house i've learned there's always a
- 35:33Speaker 4: mutant that lives in the attic.
- 35:35Speaker 8: Oh i love that movie i saw that was it the.
- 35:36Speaker 10: House on sorority or just sorority i think it's just
- 35:38Speaker 10: called sorority.
- 35:39Speaker 7: Row or maybe it might be the house it's the
- 35:41Speaker 7: one they just did a remake of.
- 35:42Speaker 8: Yeah i think it was originally the house on sorority
- 35:44Speaker 8: row then they remade it and it was just sorority
- 35:46Speaker 8: row with potato head and ceiling eyes.
- 35:48Speaker 7: Yeah ceiling eyes.
- 35:51Speaker 9: Please explain ceiling eyes to me.
- 35:54Speaker 7: Our regular listeners, I know, know this one.
- 35:56Speaker 8: I know Randy knows what I'm talking about.
- 35:57Speaker 7: Yeah, Randy likes ceiling eyes.
- 35:59Speaker 8: Ceiling eyes, is that Adriana Partridge? She was on The Hills.
- 36:02Speaker 9: Oh, I don't know.
- 36:04Speaker 8: She hated Chris Pine for a while because she always
- 36:05Speaker 8: looks like she's looking up at the ceiling, no matter what.
- 36:08Speaker 8: She has weird funky eyes. It's probably because she's on drugs.
- 36:12Speaker 7: And then there was Potato Head, which is... Rumor Willis.
- 36:15Speaker 8: She looks like a potato.
- 36:17Speaker 9: What else has she been in?
- 36:18Speaker 8: Denny Moore's Womb.
- 36:22Speaker 5: Nice.
- 36:25Speaker 10: She has this disgusting chin.
- 36:27Speaker 8: It's like.
- 36:29Speaker 9: How old is this poor girl?
- 36:31Speaker 6: You'd think between the two of those people they could
- 36:33Speaker 6: come out looking good, but no.
- 36:36Speaker 8: She's got the worst features of both of them.
- 36:42Speaker 6: Yeah, Demi was pretty and Bruce was handsome back in
- 36:46Speaker 6: the day. Now he's just an old bald dude. Between
- 36:48Speaker 6: the two, you'd think they could come up with some
- 36:50Speaker 6: decent DNA.
- 36:51Speaker 8: The House on Sorority, I watched that a couple months ago.
- 36:54Speaker 7: Yeah, I really liked that one.
- 36:55Speaker 3: The old one?
- 36:56Speaker 8: Yeah, the old one. I watched it.
- 36:57Speaker 10: But any movie about sororities, there's always Mutant in the Attic.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Always.
- 37:00Speaker 9: That's awesome.
- 37:01Speaker 7: That's where I'm moving pretty soon.
- 37:02Speaker 8: They didn't really give you a lot of story about it. Like, oh, well,
- 37:04Speaker 8: she had a kid, put him in the attic.
- 37:06Speaker 3: There you go.
- 37:07Speaker 7: There wasn't really any other.
- 37:08Speaker 10: Yeah, no.
- 37:09Speaker 6: So that was kind of back when they did that
- 37:10Speaker 6: with horror movies. Because, I mean, Black Christmas was awesome.
- 37:13Speaker 6: But there was no real elaborating on that one.
- 37:15Speaker 10: It was the exact same movie, minus it being Christmas.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it was.
- 37:18Speaker 8: I was like, I feel like I've watched this. But
- 37:20Speaker 8: it was still enjoyable. Yeah, it was enjoyable.
- 37:21Speaker 7: A lot of good deaths.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:23Speaker 10: And that band, Four Out of Five Doctors.
- 37:26Speaker 8: Oh, they were awesome.
- 37:27Speaker 10: They ruled so much we had to look up who
- 37:29Speaker 10: the band was.
- 37:30Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 37:30Speaker 9: That's a cool name. That's an awesome title.
- 37:35Speaker 7: Yeah, that was a good movie.
- 37:38Speaker 10: Yeah, it was a pretty good movie. I watched season
- 37:42Speaker 10: two of Flight of the Conchords.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Nice.
- 37:45Speaker 4: Which I didn't know this until like last week, but
- 37:48Speaker 4: the show is canceled apparently.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:51Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 37:51Speaker 9: It's a little bit too dry for American audiences.
- 37:53Speaker 7: I mean, those usually don't get very far.
- 37:55Speaker 9: I think it's hilarious as shit.
- 37:56Speaker 10: It's like the best show ever. They wrapped it up
- 37:58Speaker 10: pretty good, so.
- 37:59Speaker 8: I mean, whatever.
- 38:00Speaker 10: But, yeah, pretty sad.
- 38:03Speaker 1: No more.
- 38:04Speaker 10: My favorite was.
- 38:06Speaker 4: There's this episode where Mel, which is, she kind of
- 38:09Speaker 4: stalks them.
- 38:10Speaker 9: She's a freak. She's awesome, though.
- 38:11Speaker 10: She is awesome.
- 38:12Speaker 7: She's like crazy.
- 38:13Speaker 4: But she was riding her bike, and she had a
- 38:15Speaker 4: fanny pack, and she pulled out two cookies that looked
- 38:18Speaker 4: just like them. And I was like, she knows where
- 38:20Speaker 4: it's at. She's got a fanny pack, because I've been
- 38:22Speaker 4: talking about getting a fanny pack.
- 38:23Speaker 9: For when I ride my bike.
- 38:24Speaker 6: Don't do it.
- 38:25Speaker 9: Don't do it.
- 38:25Speaker 10: And everyone's like, don't do it.
- 38:27Speaker 3: And I'm like, what?
- 38:28Speaker 10: A fanny pack is totally, I mean, utilitarian purposes only.
- 38:32Speaker 9: I'm not trying to make a fashion statement.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Get a messenger bag.
- 38:34Speaker 9: Passenger bags. And they're bigger.
- 38:35Speaker 3: You can hold more.
- 38:36Speaker 9: Fanny packs hold nothing.
- 38:37Speaker 4: I just needed to hold my keys, my phone, and
- 38:40Speaker 4: some money if I want to stop and get ice cream.
- 38:41Speaker 9: Those are pockets. Those are pockets.
- 38:43Speaker 8: My mom owns four fanny packs.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 38:46Speaker 9: Did you wear them all at the same time?
- 38:47Speaker 12: No.
- 38:47Speaker 8: That's awesome. I used to.
- 38:49Speaker 12: Dude.
- 38:49Speaker 4: In, like, 1990, I had, like, three fanny packs up
- 38:52Speaker 4: where I was at the same time.
- 38:53Speaker 12: Holy shit.
- 38:54Speaker 9: Oh, my God.
- 38:55Speaker 7: I don't think I would admit that to people.
- 38:56Speaker 3: No, never.
- 38:57Speaker 8: It's a good thing you get a backpack.
- 38:59Speaker 4: I mean, my gay uncle didn't stop carrying his fanny
- 39:01Speaker 4: pack around until, like, 2004. Because he's gay.
- 39:06Speaker 7: There's a different set of rules.
- 39:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 39:08Speaker 7: Although usually they have better fashion sense.
- 39:10Speaker 9: I don't understand.
- 39:11Speaker 7: That's going against the norm, but whatever.
- 39:13Speaker 9: Rainbow.
- 39:13Speaker 10: Yeah, he's not one of the fashionable gay men.
- 39:17Speaker 8: I did almost buy a fanny pack at the Hot
- 39:19Speaker 8: Topic yesterday for my sister because it was the Charlie
- 39:21Speaker 8: the Unicorn one. Charlie.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Oh cool they have fanny packs at hot topic i
- 39:28Speaker 4: had the the unicorn was it on clearance for how
- 39:32Speaker 4: much i don't know probably gonna go back and get.
- 39:35Speaker 7: That This message brought to you.
- 39:38Speaker 8: By Hot Topic. Hot Topic.
- 39:40Speaker 9: Oh, you're fanny packing these.
- 39:41Speaker 7: I don't ever shop there.
- 39:43Speaker 8: Oh, I don't ever shop there.
- 39:44Speaker 7: That sounds really interesting.
- 39:45Speaker 9: You like that?
- 39:46Speaker 7: I did have a.
- 39:47Speaker 4: Pair of blue leopard print high heels there this week.
- 39:50Speaker 7: I bought a dinosaur hoodie.
- 39:52Speaker 8: I don't. Is that eyeballs on it? It's sharks too.
- 39:56Speaker 8: Do they have any more?
- 39:59Speaker 7: It's sharks too.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Sweet.
- 40:00Speaker 10: Going back.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Go back. Teeth.
- 40:03Speaker 4: I've decided I'm not going to shop anymore, but Misty
- 40:06Speaker 4: just corrupted me.
- 40:08Speaker 8: I have a problem.
- 40:09Speaker 3: You do?
- 40:09Speaker 10: Yeah, like a really bad problem. But anyway.
- 40:14Speaker 7: Oh, Morgan.
- 40:15Speaker 6: Well, if nothing else, do you want to help spread
- 40:18Speaker 6: the infection? As of Friday night, I found out your
- 40:21Speaker 6: new obsession, and you're really trying to win the world
- 40:24Speaker 6: over with this one.
- 40:25Speaker 10: I don't know why people don't. I mean, I seriously
- 40:27Speaker 10: like it. I think most people who would like it
- 40:29Speaker 10: would like.
- 40:30Speaker 4: It in an ironic way. But, like, my friend ordered
- 40:33Speaker 4: this CD, and it came in the mail on Friday.
- 40:35Speaker 4: It's Duck Mandu. And this guy plays it. He's, like,
- 40:39Speaker 4: a badass accordion player, which I'm all about because I
- 40:42Speaker 4: like accordion music. And it's all accordion versions of Dead
- 40:48Speaker 4: Kennedy songs.
- 40:49Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 40:50Speaker 8: Yeah, pretty sweet.
- 40:52Speaker 6: I think, yeah, as we go into our break here,
- 40:54Speaker 6: we'll play a little Duck Mandu for everybody.
- 40:57Speaker 8: Yeah, pretty awesome.
- 40:58Speaker 6: I'm not sure it's for everyone, but you can see
- 41:00Speaker 6: if it's up your alley, hey, you can go find them.
- 41:02Speaker 10: I don't know why not everyone would like it.
- 41:04Speaker 8: I don't understand.
- 41:06Speaker 3: So, yeah.
- 41:07Speaker 8: Me personally, but.
- 41:08Speaker 6: If you find yourself looking for it, yeah, it's all
- 41:11Speaker 6: one word, by the way.
- 41:11Speaker 7: I just found that out the other day.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Yeah, one word.
- 41:14Speaker 7: It's Duck Mandu.
- 41:15Speaker 4: Yeah, he always wears it. I think it's like a
- 41:18Speaker 4: Daffy Duck hat or something.
- 41:20Speaker 12: Nice. Donald.
- 41:21Speaker 8: Donald Duck.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Yeah, whatever.
- 41:23Speaker 7: Licensing problems. Because Donald was a sailor.
- 41:26Speaker 10: Pretty awesome.
- 41:26Speaker 8: Did he wear pants?
- 41:27Speaker 12: No.
- 41:28Speaker 4: No.
- 41:30Speaker 7: Donald or Duckman, I'm not sure.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Either way.
- 41:32Speaker 8: How can you wear a shirt and not wear pants?
- 41:36Speaker 10: I do it all the time.
- 41:38Speaker 7: All right, we'll take a break.
- 41:39Speaker 8: I am Governor Jerry Brown.
- 41:43Speaker 15: My arrows, my arrows are never frowned. Soon I will
- 41:46Speaker 15: be president.
- 41:51Speaker 7: Carter Powell will soon go away.
- 41:53Speaker 9: I will be your heir one day. I will command
- 41:57Speaker 9: under you.
- 41:58Speaker 8: Your kids will meditate in school.
- 42:01Speaker 15: Your kids will meditate in school. California, uberanus, California, uberanus, uberanus, California, uberanus, California.
- 42:18Speaker 5: Corn hungry, we have it.
- 42:19Speaker 12: Kettle from the popper.
- 42:20Speaker 5: There are other treats for you too, such as fresh
- 42:23Speaker 5: candies and ice cream. Visit the refreshment center now. Enjoy
- 42:26Speaker 5: a delicious snack and ice cold Coca-Cola.
- 42:32Speaker 16: Yo, are you looking for a podcast that breaks movies
- 42:35Speaker 16: down like you couldn't believe? I mean, takes them apart
- 42:39Speaker 16: piece by piece and analyzes every little thing. Getting you
- 42:43Speaker 16: the most out of every movie that you ever could.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Well, look no further.
- 42:47Speaker 16: Than The Gentleman's Guide to Midnight Cinema with Samurai and
- 42:51Speaker 16: Big Willie. These fuckers know how to review movies, or
- 42:56Speaker 16: my name ain't the head.
- 42:59Speaker 7: You can find The Gentleman at ggtmc.com.
- 43:02Speaker 8: I love the smell of.
- 43:03Speaker 9: Napalm in the morning.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Hey, creeps and ghouls, this is Captain Clegg from the
- 43:25Speaker 2: Halloween 2 movie, and you are listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Drive, conductor, drive. White knuckles on the wheel and the
- 43:35Speaker 3: smell of black coal.
- 43:36Speaker 2: With a hundred miles of track and the wind at
- 43:39Speaker 2: your back.
- 43:40Speaker 3: With a fever car full.
- 43:41Speaker 12: Of dead souls.
- 43:43Speaker 8: And we carry on about what.
- 43:46Speaker 9: We do But it's impossible.
- 43:48Speaker 8: To let go with my friends Can't.
- 43:51Speaker 17: Go with them, then I wonder Do we need a partner?
- 43:56Speaker 8: Can't you just buy a brand new kit?
- 43:59Speaker 7: Some stamp you'd easily scorn?
- 44:01Speaker 3: Daragh! Meh! Daragh!
- 44:06Speaker 17: May the dog May the dog May the dog May
- 44:11Speaker 17: the dog May.
- 44:13Speaker 5: The dog.
- 44:41Speaker 15: .
- 45:02Speaker 7: All right, so it is time for What's the Buzz?
- 45:04Speaker 12: Groovy.
- 45:09Speaker 7: Brought to you by me.
- 45:15Speaker 8: Out the notes.
- 45:18Speaker 7: Yep, we're busting out the notes.
- 45:19Speaker 8: We ain't got no internet.
- 45:20Speaker 4: Why?
- 45:22Speaker 3: It might be back.
- 45:23Speaker 7: It was this morning the entire internet shut down for
- 45:25Speaker 7: some freaking reason. So I just picked some stuff at random.
- 45:27Speaker 6: So yeah, usually you complain about what I pick, but
- 45:29Speaker 6: this time Misty picked them, so.
- 45:33Speaker 7: Where to begin?
- 45:33Speaker 8: I know what's first on the list is Colin Farrell
- 45:38Speaker 8: will be the new vampire in the Fright Night movie.
- 45:41Speaker 8: He will be the neighbor that was originally played by
- 45:43Speaker 8: Chris Sarandon.
- 45:45Speaker 6: Which, yeah, as we were discussing that yesterday, I was like,
- 45:49Speaker 6: at first I was like, oh, that's weird casting.
- 45:51Speaker 3: I can see it almost.
- 45:52Speaker 7: But at the same time, I was like, well, he
- 45:53Speaker 7: is a good actor. I don't have a problem with
- 45:55Speaker 7: him as an actor.
- 45:56Speaker 9: He's kind of hot.
- 45:57Speaker 6: He's kind of a douchebag. I was like, well, no,
- 45:59Speaker 6: he's kind of fancy. But I was like, thinking back,
- 46:02Speaker 6: he's a fancy lad. He's definitely a fancy lad. But
- 46:04Speaker 6: I was thinking back, I was like, well, Chris Sarandon,
- 46:07Speaker 6: I mean, a lot of people probably would have thought
- 46:09Speaker 6: that was weird casting back in the day. I mean,
- 46:11Speaker 6: he's played many a fancy lad in his time.
- 46:13Speaker 3: So, I mean.
- 46:14Speaker 9: A fancy poncy lad.
- 46:15Speaker 6: So I don't know. That's still up in the air.
- 46:19Speaker 6: I'm still not sure how I feel about the whole project,
- 46:21Speaker 6: but I'm hearing better names involved every time, so I'm
- 46:25Speaker 6: kind of interested, even with that thrown in there.
- 46:27Speaker 8: I guess that's going to be the kid, the neighbor kid,
- 46:29Speaker 8: I think.
- 46:29Speaker 9: How are they going to replace Evil?
- 46:31Speaker 8: There should be another piece of paper, the one behind it.
- 46:33Speaker 9: They can't replace Evil. Evil is the best part about
- 46:36Speaker 9: that movie for me. I don't know. For some reason,
- 46:38Speaker 9: I thought it was awesome.
- 46:40Speaker 8: I don't remember that movie. It's been so many years
- 46:41Speaker 8: since I've seen it.
- 46:42Speaker 9: It was one of the first vampire movies that scared
- 46:44Speaker 9: the shit out of me when I was a kid.
- 46:46Speaker 9: Because when they turned into vampires, their faces were, like, freaky.
- 46:49Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 46:49Speaker 9: Like, they had this big maw, and then their eyes.
- 46:52Speaker 9: I was like, oh, Jesus Christ.
- 46:54Speaker 7: It's messed up.
- 46:55Speaker 9: Like, now it looks.
- 46:56Speaker 7: cheesy, I guess.
- 46:57Speaker 6: Kids today will probably make fun of it, but I mean,
- 46:59Speaker 6: it's still, it's such a good story. It's like, it's just,
- 47:03Speaker 6: it transcends the makeup problems and the bad 80s dance scene.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Yes.
- 47:07Speaker 8: It'll be on the second page.
- 47:09Speaker 9: I forgot.
- 47:09Speaker 8: I didn't copy it. I guess he's going to be
- 47:12Speaker 8: at Fright Night.
- 47:13Speaker 12: Who?
- 47:13Speaker 8: Amanda Bierce. And nobody's going to care.
- 47:15Speaker 7: It's going to be awesome. I'm going to care. Marcy
- 47:18Speaker 7: Darcy's going to be there. I'll be all over some
- 47:19Speaker 7: Marcy Darcy.
- 47:20Speaker 3: Amanda Bierce.
- 47:21Speaker 8: I'm married with children. Dude, I care.
- 47:24Speaker 9: And she was a chick in Fright Night.
- 47:26Speaker 8: That's why it.
- 47:27Speaker 7: Reminded me of that. Anton Yelchin?
- 47:31Speaker 9: Yelchin? That's the Chekhov?
- 47:33Speaker 12: Yeah. Is it?
- 47:35Speaker 9: Whistles. Captain. Wow.
- 47:38Speaker 8: It surprised me that he actually knew the name.
- 47:40Speaker 7: That's what I was trying to remember. It sounded familiar.
- 47:42Speaker 7: I was like, why do I know that?
- 47:43Speaker 9: Or Sean Conner in the new Terminator or whatever. The
- 47:46Speaker 9: young John Conner.
- 47:48Speaker 8: I never saw the new one.
- 47:49Speaker 9: Really?
- 47:50Speaker 3: That was good.
- 47:50Speaker 7: Did they have Wessels in that one too? No, he
- 47:52Speaker 7: didn't have to say Wessels. I love that movie. You
- 47:55Speaker 7: should always say Wes.
- 47:58Speaker 6: Why are they even attempting to make another Alan Quartermain movie?
- 48:02Speaker 7: I didn't like the first time around. They were terrible.
- 48:06Speaker 8: I've never seen one. The only thing I knew about
- 48:08Speaker 8: the Quartermains was from General Hospital.
- 48:11Speaker 6: I'm not sure it was the same character. May not
- 48:14Speaker 6: be the same family line, but... Maybe distant relatives, cousins.
- 48:18Speaker 7: Alan Quatermain.
- 48:19Speaker 6: It was just annoying because it was such a wannabe
- 48:21Speaker 6: Indiana Jones. It's like everybody knew it was, but then
- 48:25Speaker 6: nobody wanted to call it out.
- 48:26Speaker 7: And I'm like, but no, that's all it is.
- 48:28Speaker 9: Was Alan Quatermain, did he exist before Indiana Jones? Because
- 48:32Speaker 9: is he a folklore character? I think he was.
- 48:34Speaker 7: I think just like stories. I think there were like
- 48:37Speaker 7: probably old stories.
- 48:38Speaker 8: I really don't think I've ever seen any of these movies.
- 48:40Speaker 8: well now Boy of the Minute is going to be
- 48:42Speaker 8: in it because he's going to be in everything big
- 48:44Speaker 8: for the next five.
- 48:45Speaker 6: Years yeah until the novelty is worn off Sam Worthington
- 48:48Speaker 6: he will be the new oh then yeah he's.
- 48:52Speaker 8: The guy from Avatar.
- 48:54Speaker 6: And Clash of the Titans I feel.
- 48:56Speaker 10: Like I'm so out of the loop what is wrong
- 48:58Speaker 10: with me today I'm like who.
- 49:00Speaker 8: I've never even seen these movies and I'm on crack
- 49:02Speaker 8: you're filling.
- 49:02Speaker 6: In for Jay usually he forgets everybody that's in all
- 49:06Speaker 6: these movies I'm not on crack really everybody I'm.
- 49:08Speaker 10: Not not on crag just darps.
- 49:11Speaker 7: It so yeah i just don't understand why they need.
- 49:14Speaker 6: To make another one of those because they have no
- 49:16Speaker 6: ideas because i guess they quit making the mummy movies
- 49:18Speaker 6: which were another bad one to be Indiana Jones.
- 49:20Speaker 3: So, I don't know.
- 49:21Speaker 7: They just need to stop.
- 49:22Speaker 9: They need to just roll into straight up the second
- 49:25Speaker 9: League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Because the comic was awesome. But
- 49:29Speaker 9: the comic was a lot different than the movie where,
- 49:32Speaker 9: who is it?
- 49:34Speaker 3: The.
- 49:35Speaker 9: Let me see.
- 49:37Speaker 1: Mr.
- 49:37Speaker 9: Hyde, basically, the Invisible Man rapes Mina in the comic book,
- 49:41Speaker 9: and then Dr. Jekyll eats the Invisible Man because he's like,
- 49:47Speaker 9: you know, oh, yeah, you fucker. So he's like, no,
- 49:50Speaker 9: he rapes him in the ass first.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 49:52Speaker 9: Yeah, that's a pretty good scene.
- 49:53Speaker 7: This really happens?
- 49:54Speaker 9: Yes, it really happens in the comic.
- 49:55Speaker 3: Wow.
- 49:56Speaker 7: See, this is why.
- 49:57Speaker 9: It's a lot different than the movie.
- 49:58Speaker 7: He's invisible.
- 49:59Speaker 8: How does he know he's getting him in the ass?
- 50:01Speaker 12: I don't know.
- 50:03Speaker 9: In his throat. I don't know. Maybe he's making ooh
- 50:06Speaker 9: butt sex sounds. I don't know.
- 50:07Speaker 8: A hole is a hole is a hole.
- 50:14Speaker 9: There's a hole in my bucket.
- 50:19Speaker 6: Yes, he actually has. It's Richard Haggard's. Alan Quartermain is
- 50:24Speaker 6: a 19th century Victorian era hero. They're citing it as
- 50:29Speaker 6: the influences of Indiana Jones. I didn't see that. He
- 50:33Speaker 6: was one of the members of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,
- 50:35Speaker 6: so it does tie into all this.
- 50:36Speaker 7: But I don't care.
- 50:37Speaker 6: Indiana Jones is like 10 million times better than... Any
- 50:40Speaker 6: version of it I've ever seen. I haven't read the story,
- 50:42Speaker 6: so what.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Do I know?
- 50:43Speaker 10: Oh, can I say something really fast?
- 50:45Speaker 4: I should have said this during Geek Week, but I forgot,
- 50:47Speaker 4: and I feel it's really important because this astounded me.
- 50:51Speaker 4: I went to a How to Train Your Dragon-themed birthday
- 50:53Speaker 4: party yesterday for a four-year-old.
- 50:55Speaker 7: Was there dragons?
- 50:56Speaker 6: Yeah, there were.
- 50:56Speaker 3: Really?
- 50:57Speaker 8: No.
- 50:58Speaker 10: But there was a bouncy castle.
- 50:59Speaker 7: That's pretty awesome.
- 51:00Speaker 4: But remember when it used to take, like, four years
- 51:03Speaker 4: for party supplies to come out for a movie? You know, like,
- 51:08Speaker 4: if a movie came out one year, two years later,
- 51:11Speaker 4: you can get, like.
- 51:12Speaker 7: Plates and cups and napkins.
- 51:13Speaker 6: By the time the movie was completely uncool, you could
- 51:16Speaker 6: have a theme party, basically.
- 51:17Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 51:18Speaker 8: Now you can get the supplies before the movie's even out.
- 51:20Speaker 12: I know.
- 51:21Speaker 10: I was like, this movie's still in theaters.
- 51:23Speaker 9: It's insane.
- 51:23Speaker 4: Because I remember, like, being little and, like, Wanting a
- 51:26Speaker 4: certain themed birthday party.
- 51:28Speaker 10: And, like, you can't, you know.
- 51:30Speaker 7: You're getting Garfield and you're going to, like.
- 51:32Speaker 3: I'm still waiting for.
- 51:33Speaker 8: My Thundercats birthday.
- 51:35Speaker 12: I know.
- 51:35Speaker 9: The mass marketing machine is in full effect nowadays where
- 51:38Speaker 9: it really wasn't back then.
- 51:40Speaker 10: I had a big bird cake every year until I was, like, 12.
- 51:43Speaker 9: God.
- 51:43Speaker 10: Because my mom had a big bird cake thing.
- 51:45Speaker 12: So.
- 51:46Speaker 9: My mom had a train one.
- 51:47Speaker 7: I was like, yes.
- 51:49Speaker 6: I'm sticking with my Boba Fett pan.
- 51:51Speaker 7: Screw you guys.
- 51:53Speaker 12: Trains.
- 51:53Speaker 8: They don't make the right colors to make the Boba Fett,
- 51:55Speaker 8: so you end up with pastels. It's still Boba Fett.
- 51:59Speaker 8: It's pink and purple.
- 52:01Speaker 7: It's still Boba Fett. He's awesome.
- 52:02Speaker 10: It's not like the little.
- 52:04Speaker 6: It's brick crinkles. So, yeah, it is a lot faster now.
- 52:08Speaker 6: I mean, they do marketing, yeah, and merchandising for everything.
- 52:12Speaker 6: I mean, look at just the movie merchandising.
- 52:14Speaker 9: You can play the game of the movie before the
- 52:17Speaker 9: movie's out.
- 52:18Speaker 6: Or like the Avatar toys were out well before the
- 52:21Speaker 6: movie was.
- 52:21Speaker 7: And I'm just like, I don't even know what these
- 52:23Speaker 7: blue things are. Why am I looking at them on
- 52:25Speaker 7: my shelf? These aren't Smurfs at all.
- 52:27Speaker 9: They don't have parts, like naughty parts.
- 52:30Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 52:30Speaker 6: How do they do it you just have to get
- 52:33Speaker 6: ahead of the game at this point in their mind
- 52:35Speaker 6: it's like you have to get it out and beat
- 52:37Speaker 6: the and it's probably especially movie related because movies have
- 52:40Speaker 6: such a short window now it's like you've got maybe
- 52:43Speaker 6: two weeks.
- 52:43Speaker 9: Or something comes out out and then two months later
- 52:47Speaker 9: if that they're you know on your dvd shelves.
- 52:49Speaker 6: Yeah and i mean how to train your dragon is
- 52:51Speaker 6: one of the few exceptions in the last few years
- 52:53Speaker 6: that like started slow and steadily built its way up
- 52:57Speaker 6: and has found sort of a following now but most
- 52:59Speaker 6: movies like if you didn't open at the top of
- 53:02Speaker 6: the box office that week two weeks later you would
- 53:04Speaker 6: have been kicked out of theaters so i guess they
- 53:07Speaker 6: realize at this point i mean if you want to
- 53:08Speaker 6: get marketing you want to get merchandising you got to
- 53:10Speaker 6: get it out there before it even hits.
- 53:12Speaker 7: The theaters because of that very.
- 53:14Speaker 8: Reason so So you're talking about the remake that's.
- 53:16Speaker 7: Pissing a lot of people off?
- 53:17Speaker 9: Uh-oh, what is this?
- 53:18Speaker 1: The new remake?
- 53:19Speaker 8: It's on the back of that one.
- 53:20Speaker 6: Uh, yeah.
- 53:21Speaker 9: Is this Remake of the Week?
- 53:22Speaker 7: This, uh, yeah, I guess we can throw it out
- 53:24Speaker 7: there as the official. You know what you love? It's
- 53:27Speaker 7: time for the pissing people off Remake of the Week.
- 53:32Speaker 6: According to today's findings, Dario Argento, he made the original
- 53:37Speaker 6: Deep Red in the 70s, so now they're remaking it
- 53:41Speaker 6: and George Romero is doing it.
- 53:43Speaker 12: Yes. Yes.
- 53:44Speaker 9: What?
- 53:45Speaker 7: And in 3D.
- 53:47Speaker 8: It's coming from Dario Argento's brother's film production company.
- 53:51Speaker 7: So it's like, why is he helping?
- 53:54Speaker 8: It's like, really? Why do you need that?
- 53:56Speaker 7: At this point, if he can make money off of it,
- 53:58Speaker 7: that's probably.
- 53:58Speaker 8: I didn't do a lot of research on that because
- 54:00Speaker 8: I did it right before I left the house. I
- 54:01Speaker 8: didn't really write anything. I have no more information on
- 54:04Speaker 8: the Deep Red remake. I don't know how far they've
- 54:08Speaker 8: actually made it. I have no idea.
- 54:10Speaker 7: It's one of those.
- 54:10Speaker 6: I mean, Dario Argento has always kind of been... just
- 54:14Speaker 6: sort of making his movies. And as time has gone on,
- 54:17Speaker 6: he's made stuff that people don't really like as much anymore.
- 54:20Speaker 7: And it doesn't seem to phase him. Like he continues
- 54:23Speaker 7: making his movies.
- 54:24Speaker 6: So it's like, he's, he may be one of those
- 54:26Speaker 6: guys that like, again, if they can license his movie
- 54:29Speaker 6: to somebody else, he probably doesn't even care who it is.
- 54:31Speaker 6: I mean, if he, if I don't know if he
- 54:33Speaker 6: holds the rights to it, so that's what I'm wondering
- 54:35Speaker 6: if he's going to get a cut of this deal,
- 54:37Speaker 6: if he's going to be like executive producer and, And
- 54:40Speaker 6: maybe he thinks turning it over to Romero is a
- 54:42Speaker 6: better way to go.
- 54:43Speaker 7: At this point, that's questionable.
- 54:44Speaker 3: Yeah, really.
- 54:45Speaker 8: The last couple of Romero movies haven't been that great.
- 54:46Speaker 9: He's lost it. I'm sorry. I have no faith in
- 54:48Speaker 9: him anymore at all. And that sucks because he was
- 54:51Speaker 9: a master.
- 54:52Speaker 3: He was.
- 54:53Speaker 9: And he should always go down in history, in my mind,
- 54:56Speaker 9: as a master. But I just refuse to see anything
- 54:58Speaker 9: he does nowadays because I want to keep that. in
- 55:01Speaker 9: my mind i don't want to be like fuck you
- 55:03Speaker 9: i don't.
- 55:03Speaker 6: Know i'll see the new western dummies or whatever the
- 55:06Speaker 6: hell that new one is i'll watch it but good
- 55:09Speaker 6: luck i'm not going in.
- 55:10Speaker 8: With super romero told me i sound like a misty
- 55:13Speaker 8: and i'm not sure what that means that means yeah
- 55:19Speaker 8: what does that mean i don't know I was getting
- 55:21Speaker 8: his autograph eight years ago. I don't know, my mom
- 55:24Speaker 8: postponed our wedding. He's like, yeah, you sound like a Misty.
- 55:28Speaker 8: And I'm like, what? Okay.
- 55:30Speaker 9: Are you drunk, mister?
- 55:33Speaker 7: Is there any other movies that I wrote?
- 55:35Speaker 8: I know you're excited about the one that's on there
- 55:38Speaker 8: about the Roller Coaster Tycoon movie.
- 55:41Speaker 6: Oh.
- 55:41Speaker 9: Get out of town.
- 55:42Speaker 8: They have bought the rights to the Roller Coaster Tycoon
- 55:45Speaker 8: video game so that they're going to turn it into
- 55:47Speaker 8: a movie in some way.
- 55:48Speaker 9: God, that sounds awful. Get me off of the planet Earth.
- 55:52Speaker 7: Let's see.
- 55:53Speaker 6: Sony Pictures has picked up the rights to the Atari
- 55:55Speaker 6: PC game Roller Coaster Tycoon.
- 55:57Speaker 9: Good for them.
- 55:59Speaker 11: Oh, which.
- 56:01Speaker 7: How do you make a game like that into a movie?
- 56:04Speaker 7: I mean, it's SimCity the movie.
- 56:05Speaker 9: Yeah, really.
- 56:07Speaker 6: The only good thing I ever liked to do was
- 56:09Speaker 6: get that loop-de-loop roller coaster and then turn.
- 56:11Speaker 7: The speed all the way up to high and then
- 56:13Speaker 7: it shoots.
- 56:13Speaker 9: It off the other end. That was the best part.
- 56:15Speaker 7: That was the best part.
- 56:16Speaker 8: Or trapping people in the park until they got mad
- 56:18Speaker 8: and picking them up and dropping them in the lake.
- 56:21Speaker 12: I remember one.
- 56:23Speaker 7: Time I just made an entire big water area. It
- 56:27Speaker 7: was just huge. It was most of the park.
- 56:29Speaker 6: And then I had all these angry little pissed off
- 56:31Speaker 6: people at the bottom, and I would just pick them
- 56:32Speaker 6: up with the big God hand and drop them into
- 56:35Speaker 6: the water.
- 56:36Speaker 8: Oh, good God.
- 56:37Speaker 6: I was trying to see how many people, because you've
- 56:38Speaker 6: got your count of the people running there. I was
- 56:40Speaker 6: trying to see how many I could go through.
- 56:42Speaker 9: Could you just make big space launching platforms where it
- 56:46Speaker 9: would curlicue and then just angle up and then the
- 56:48Speaker 9: tracks would stop?
- 56:49Speaker 4: No.
- 56:49Speaker 7: See, that's the thing.
- 56:50Speaker 6: They wouldn't let you kill people without doing it really
- 56:53Speaker 6: ridiculous ways like that.
- 56:55Speaker 7: That was about the only way.
- 56:55Speaker 6: Because basically, yeah, after a minute and a half when
- 56:58Speaker 6: the novelty of playing the game normally wore off, I
- 57:01Speaker 6: just decided to see how many ways I could kill people.
- 57:03Speaker 6: So the only other way you could, aside from dropping
- 57:05Speaker 6: them on the water, was it had one preset little.
- 57:08Speaker 7: Loop-de-loop roller coaster.
- 57:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:11Speaker 6: You could adjust the speed on it, and if you
- 57:13Speaker 6: would turn it all the way up to the top level,
- 57:15Speaker 6: it would just go all the way through, and when
- 57:17Speaker 6: it would get to the other end, it would shoot
- 57:18Speaker 6: it off the top.
- 57:19Speaker 7: And it would catch fire.
- 57:21Speaker 9: It would catch fire?
- 57:22Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 57:22Speaker 8: It would hit the ground like a crab next to it.
- 57:24Speaker 3: Nice.
- 57:25Speaker 7: That's fun. It would die a horrible screaming death.
- 57:27Speaker 9: I don't think that'll be in the movie.
- 57:28Speaker 7: I wish.
- 57:29Speaker 6: See, then, if it was like Bruckheimer, you'd have some
- 57:31Speaker 6: explosions in this bitch.
- 57:33Speaker 4: You know, the only video game I think I've ever
- 57:35Speaker 4: liked to play is... zelda but even that i can't
- 57:38Speaker 4: play for very long but i can play caesar 3
- 57:41Speaker 4: until my eyeballs bleed like it's it's like a sim
- 57:45Speaker 4: simulation game like that but like dude if they made
- 57:48Speaker 4: a movie about that i might be the only person
- 57:50Speaker 4: in the theater but i would be on that shit
- 57:52Speaker 4: i like.
- 57:53Speaker 6: The age of empires 2 so yeah it was basically
- 57:56Speaker 6: the same thing.
- 57:56Speaker 8: It'll be no iron sky i'll tell you that right
- 57:59Speaker 8: now which is one of the few movies if they
- 58:01Speaker 8: actually because they actually do have a shooting location now
- 58:03Speaker 8: it's gonna be filmed in australia but it's gonna have
- 58:06Speaker 8: space nazis Fuck yeah.
- 58:08Speaker 6: So do you have more of the story on this?
- 58:12Speaker 4: No.
- 58:12Speaker 8: I can't really find that much information on it. I
- 58:14Speaker 8: just saw the trailer online.
- 58:14Speaker 9: Hopefully it's not going to be like a Sky Captain.
- 58:16Speaker 9: Because Sky Captain, the theory was awesome. The original story
- 58:20Speaker 9: was exciting. And then the movie came out. It's like,
- 58:22Speaker 9: how did you screw this up? But yeah, you can
- 58:25Speaker 9: go to.
- 58:25Speaker 8: Their website and you can buy these war bonds. They're
- 58:28Speaker 8: not real war bonds. That's cool.
- 58:29Speaker 7: That's pretty awesome.
- 58:30Speaker 8: That's fun. They're a movie to make so that you
- 58:32Speaker 8: can actually get the money to make this.
- 58:34Speaker 3: But yeah.
- 58:35Speaker 8: Apparently, like, after the war, they took off, and they
- 58:38Speaker 8: didn't stick around.
- 58:39Speaker 7: They went into space. That's awesome. Nazis went to the moon,
- 58:42Speaker 7: didn't they?
- 58:44Speaker 6: Yeah, Nazis went to live on the moon, and now
- 58:45Speaker 6: they're coming back to kick your ass.
- 58:47Speaker 7: That's pretty awesome.
- 58:48Speaker 10: And it'd be a Marmaduke movie.
- 58:49Speaker 7: Did you hear that?
- 58:50Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 58:50Speaker 8: That is awesome.
- 58:51Speaker 7: Have you not seen the trailer?
- 58:53Speaker 3: Holy shit.
- 58:53Speaker 9: I haven't, and I'm glad.
- 58:55Speaker 7: It's... Oh, man. I mean, as bad as all of.
- 58:58Speaker 9: Is it.
- 58:58Speaker 7: Garfield, CG?
- 58:59Speaker 12: It's worse.
- 59:00Speaker 7: Like, Garfield looks good compared to this movie.
- 59:02Speaker 3: Oh, my lord. It looks.
- 59:05Speaker 7: atrocious.
- 59:06Speaker 8: Nobody cares about Marvin.
- 59:07Speaker 10: Kids don't fucking read.
- 59:08Speaker 7: No, that's what I'm saying.
- 59:09Speaker 9: That's like they have a freaking Ziggy cartoon.
- 59:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 59:12Speaker 3: Why not?
- 59:12Speaker 7: They were pushing it with the Garfield movies or even
- 59:14Speaker 7: the Alvin and the Chimma.
- 59:15Speaker 6: I mean, you're lucky to find a kid who knows
- 59:17Speaker 6: who those characters are before those lame-ass movies.
- 59:19Speaker 9: Apartment 3G, the movie.
- 59:21Speaker 8: Just don't make a family circus movie.
- 59:24Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 59:24Speaker 7: Little dotted lines everywhere.
- 59:26Speaker 6: Yeah, you're just following Timmy or Billy around for an
- 59:29Speaker 6: hour and a half.
- 59:30Speaker 1: Yikes.
- 59:32Speaker 8: Were we going to talk about the Marilyn Monroe biopic
- 59:34Speaker 8: or not?
- 59:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess.
- 59:37Speaker 8: They're making a Marilyn Monroe biopic, and they have cast
- 59:39Speaker 8: Naomi Watts as Marilyn.
- 59:41Speaker 3: What?
- 59:42Speaker 8: Yeah, Naomi Watts.
- 59:44Speaker 9: I mean, I love Naomi Watts, but as Marilyn Monroe?
- 59:46Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't see it at all.
- 59:47Speaker 9: I don't see it at all.
- 59:48Speaker 8: And I can't think of anybody who I could actually pick.
- 59:51Speaker 9: Even putting a big-ass blonde wig on her or something, like.
- 59:54Speaker 3: No.
- 59:54Speaker 7: I mean, she's got.
- 59:55Speaker 3: I mean, she has.
- 59:56Speaker 7: She doesn't have the curves. She's done the blonde thing, but.
- 1:00:00Speaker 8: Marilyn Monroe was curvy and, like, she was beautiful.
- 1:00:04Speaker 10: Even if they, like, took Angelina Jolie and dyed her blonde,
- 1:00:06Speaker 10: I think that would.
- 1:00:07Speaker 7: Be, like, a better fit.
- 1:00:08Speaker 9: Oh, not that freaky bitch.
- 1:00:10Speaker 12: Oh.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:00:11Speaker 10: I mean, just she's got a more apt body for it.
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: Definitely. And her face.
- 1:00:15Speaker 8: I don't know if I can get past that.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: No.
- 1:00:17Speaker 7: And she's beautiful, but she doesn't look like her. Yeah,
- 1:00:19Speaker 7: she doesn't look like her.
- 1:00:20Speaker 8: But I can't think of anybody I could actually think
- 1:00:22Speaker 8: being a good Marilyn Monroe.
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: But, dude, there's, like, 50 million billion fucking Marilyn Monroe impersonators.
- 1:00:27Speaker 9: Who are also actors. Yeah, really.
- 1:00:29Speaker 8: Find one of them. Exactly.
- 1:00:31Speaker 9: Give them their shot.
- 1:00:32Speaker 7: I was like, oh, my God.
- 1:00:33Speaker 8: You know Lindsay Lohan's crying because she has this delusion
- 1:00:36Speaker 8: that she thinks she's like the reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe.
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: Really?
- 1:00:38Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:00:39Speaker 9: I just avoid her. Has this been verbalized? Oh, yeah. Oh,
- 1:00:43Speaker 9: what a crazy bitch. Have you seen the pictures?
- 1:00:45Speaker 12: No.
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: Those mostly naked pictures of her were her trying to
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: recreate specific shots of Marilyn.
- 1:00:50Speaker 9: I didn't realize she was a crazy ass bitch.
- 1:00:52Speaker 8: She's a creepy ginger.
- 1:00:53Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: Freckled.
- 1:00:55Speaker 7: And she's a stick. I mean, you're not anything like Marilyn.
- 1:00:58Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:00:59Speaker 8: She does have pickle bitties.
- 1:01:00Speaker 9: You do. Lots of cocaine.
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: No, she used to be really curvy when she first started.
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: All those girls are like Hillary Duff and all those
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: like teen girls. They start off and they have regular
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: bodies and then they like They.
- 1:01:09Speaker 9: Start to party and get into freaking drugs and start
- 1:01:12Speaker 9: coke and stuff. ruin everything.
- 1:01:13Speaker 7: The coke diet.
- 1:01:14Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:01:15Speaker 8: Yeah, I can't think of anybody now who would actually
- 1:01:17Speaker 8: make a good Marilyn Monroe because nobody's going to be
- 1:01:19Speaker 8: able to pull off her charm because I mean, yeah,
- 1:01:20Speaker 8: she wasn't the smartest but she.
- 1:01:22Speaker 9: Was She didn't act all that well but she.
- 1:01:24Speaker 8: Seemed very sincere in what she was doing.
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: She seemed at least I don't know.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:29Speaker 6: I mean, she kind of played the part that was
- 1:01:31Speaker 6: pretty close to her, but she did that well, you know?
- 1:01:35Speaker 9: It's like she was.
- 1:01:36Speaker 7: selling herself more or less but and she.
- 1:01:39Speaker 8: Was gorgeous i mean seriously there aren't that many girls
- 1:01:42Speaker 8: even today that can even compare to what marilyn monroe
- 1:01:44Speaker 8: was i'm.
- 1:01:46Speaker 9: Saying they'd be she's just like the epitome of the pinup.
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: Yeah i mean she was and and we don't really
- 1:01:50Speaker 6: have that kind of girl anymore it's it's a very
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: different world type of women today so it's yeah we
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: don't have because.
- 1:01:57Speaker 9: Apparently kirby's not beautiful anymore which is insane Which.
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: I think it was the Norma Jean and Marilyn thing
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: that they did years ago. I think that was Charlize
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: that did the early version, the Norma Jean, wasn't it?
- 1:02:09Speaker 9: Was it Charlize?
- 1:02:10Speaker 7: I thought it was Ashley Judd. Was it Ashley?
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: Yeah, it was.
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: They're both pretty.
- 1:02:15Speaker 8: Ashley Judd and then Mina Suvari.
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: Yeah, Mina Suvari.
- 1:02:17Speaker 8: No, not Mina Suvari.
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: Mina Servino did the Marilyn version. Which that one was bad.
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: I didn't get it with that one. But yeah, the
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: Norma Jean version was not bad. But, yeah, Ashley's gotten
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: weird over the years, too.
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: She doesn't look... She's too old.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: They're all.
- 1:02:32Speaker 8: Marilyn wasn't that old when she died.
- 1:02:34Speaker 7: All these, you know, leading lady women are way too
- 1:02:38Speaker 7: old at this point.
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: If you're starting at an early age, it's like, who
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: are you going to find that's, like, up and coming
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: that's going to play a young Norma Jean?
- 1:02:45Speaker 7: I mean, there's... There's not really anybody that fits that role.
- 1:02:48Speaker 9: When she died? Don't you mean when she was killed? Conspiracy!
- 1:02:54Speaker 9: I'll shut up.
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: You don't remember that because the government wiped out your
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: memory here, right?
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: They did.
- 1:03:02Speaker 7: So, yeah, I don't know. I mean, either of them.
- 1:03:05Speaker 6: I mean, even Charlize would be an interesting choice for
- 1:03:08Speaker 6: the older version. I don't think Charlize ever bounced back
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: from Monster. Her face never looked good right again.
- 1:03:14Speaker 9: I mean, it's not the same.
- 1:03:15Speaker 8: She has that kind of hollowed out look still. I
- 1:03:17Speaker 8: don't like that.
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: She really didn't do much after that.
- 1:03:20Speaker 10: I mean, she was in everything for a while. And
- 1:03:22Speaker 10: after Monster, they're like, didn't she win an Oscar for that?
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: I think.
- 1:03:25Speaker 8: I don't remember.
- 1:03:26Speaker 7: She was nominated. I don't know if she did.
- 1:03:28Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:03:28Speaker 7: Actually, I thought she did one because that was the
- 1:03:30Speaker 7: whole thing.
- 1:03:30Speaker 8: If you want to win an Oscar, you've got to
- 1:03:32Speaker 8: ugly up.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: Ugly up.
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:03:34Speaker 10: Yeah. She didn't really... She didn't do anything.
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: No.
- 1:03:39Speaker 7: I said she didn't bounce back good. She just looked
- 1:03:40Speaker 7: rough for a while afterwards. It just.
- 1:03:43Speaker 8: I don't know. I don't think it's a good idea.
- 1:03:44Speaker 10: I like her as the lovable retard on Arrested Development.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 1:03:48Speaker 8: I think they'd be better off just casting somebody unknown
- 1:03:52Speaker 8: to play Marilyn.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:03:53Speaker 9: You'd think.
- 1:03:54Speaker 6: I mean, there's so much... Pressure with that role. It's
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: hard enough to get anybody to do it, let alone
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: have somebody who's already got a pre-established persona to deal with.
- 1:04:05Speaker 7: It'd be easier, I would think, to just get a nobody.
- 1:04:08Speaker 9: They could just get Kirsten Stewart to do it.
- 1:04:10Speaker 8: No, Marilyn Monroe did not have downy face.
- 1:04:13Speaker 10: She was just like a little unattractive boy.
- 1:04:17Speaker 9: Oh, you guys are so mean. Leave her alone.
- 1:04:20Speaker 7: You're the one that brought her up. You know what
- 1:04:23Speaker 7: happens every time.
- 1:04:24Speaker 12: I know.
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: Even with the Betty Page movie when they cast Gretchen
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: Mal to do it, she was cute and she did
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: a good job, but you know.
- 1:04:31Speaker 8: She wasn't Betty Page.
- 1:04:32Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: It doesn't really matter who they put in this movie
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: it's not Marilyn Monroe so she's not going to have
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: the charisma it's just going to be I think it's.
- 1:04:41Speaker 7: Just kind of a bad idea fall in with your
- 1:04:42Speaker 7: thoughts who should it be yeah let's see what everybody
- 1:04:45Speaker 7: thinks if anybody can play Marilyn if anybody.
- 1:04:47Speaker 8: Cares yeah I care I care you actually you obviously
- 1:04:52Speaker 8: seem to care because you're actually still awake this time
- 1:04:55Speaker 8: for sure you've been awake through.
- 1:04:56Speaker 9: It how many months I was rested last night.
- 1:04:58Speaker 8: Alright lord I've talked way too much Didn't Naomi Watts
- 1:05:04Speaker 8: have Liv Schreiber?
- 1:05:06Speaker 9: What did you just have?
- 1:05:08Speaker 8: Liv Schreiber.
- 1:05:09Speaker 9: Oh, Liv Schreiber.
- 1:05:10Speaker 7: Liv Schreiber, whatever the fuck his name is. You tell me.
- 1:05:13Speaker 15: I love that dude.
- 1:05:13Speaker 9: I don't know any of that gossip stuff.
- 1:05:15Speaker 8: I love that dude.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: Oh, Lord.
- 1:05:18Speaker 7: So are we done with the buzz? Yeah, I think
- 1:05:20Speaker 7: we're done.
- 1:05:21Speaker 12: All right.
- 1:05:22Speaker 7: So we'll head into the interview this week.
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: This week we talked to Cortland Hull, who is the
- 1:05:26Speaker 6: co-director of the movie I Saw Last Night.
- 1:05:29Speaker 12: Yes.
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: He is actually kind of the driving force that set
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: out to make.
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: This documentary called the Aurora monsters, the model craze that
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: gripped the world.
- 1:05:38Speaker 7: And it's, it's pretty damn cool.
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: If, if you're a, if you consider yourself a monster kid,
- 1:05:43Speaker 6: if you know what that term means and you think
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: it applies to you, this is probably your movie because
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: it's a, well, first of all, it's hosted by Zachary Lee,
- 1:05:51Speaker 6: the cool ghoul, which again, if you're an old school geek,
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: you know who that is.
- 1:05:55Speaker 7: He actually has a great voice.
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: It's just listening to him do the voiceover and, He
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: does sort of the breaks in between the different segments.
- 1:06:03Speaker 7: He kind of does this.
- 1:06:05Speaker 6: He used to host the movie shows, and once they
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: sold the Universal Monsters in the 60s, they brought them
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: on TV, and he was one of the TV hosts
- 1:06:14Speaker 6: that came out and kind of did the introduction. So
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: they set up the documentary kind of like that, and
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: it's got the beginning, and he does this little thing,
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: and he's got a....
- 1:06:23Speaker 7: A gargoyle sidekick that's a puppet.
- 1:06:26Speaker 12: Word.
- 1:06:26Speaker 7: That's actually pretty awesome.
- 1:06:27Speaker 9: Sounds very bizarre.
- 1:06:28Speaker 7: So, yeah.
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: But the bulk of it is actually a two-hour visual
- 1:06:33Speaker 6: history of the Aurora monster kits and the monster craze.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: Of the 1960s.
- 1:06:37Speaker 9: What are the Auroras?
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: Monster kits they were uh the aurora kits were the
- 1:06:42Speaker 6: the monster models like basically were the vinyl kits well
- 1:06:46Speaker 6: they were plastic at that point it was before you
- 1:06:49Speaker 6: know it was back in the day and it was
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: um you know back in like the 40s and you
- 1:06:54Speaker 6: know times before that pretty much they started making model
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: kits but they were all like airplanes and you know
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: it was for little kids and that's what they did
- 1:07:01Speaker 6: you know you would build knights in armor or airplanes
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: and that was about it but um they they kept
- 1:07:05Speaker 6: trying to get a push and get like monsters made
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: and they wanted to do monster, you know, like a
- 1:07:11Speaker 6: model of Frankenstein and models of Dracula. And they were
- 1:07:14Speaker 6: kind of fighting it. They were like, ah, there's no
- 1:07:16Speaker 6: market for that. And they finally got around to doing it.
- 1:07:19Speaker 6: And it's like that. And I talked to him about
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: this because it is like, and you know, we feature
- 1:07:25Speaker 6: a lot of stuff on movies, but we also specifically
- 1:07:27Speaker 6: get into the movie geek end of it. And this
- 1:07:30Speaker 6: to me is like the birth of the movie geek.
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: It's like, there really was no merchandising.
- 1:07:36Speaker 7: There was no like, There was no collectible stuff.
- 1:07:40Speaker 6: And it's like this when it kicked in was the
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: chance for little kids to be like, hey, I love
- 1:07:46Speaker 6: this movie. I want to have something and put on
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: my shelf. I mean, it is the collector geek, you know, genesis.
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: It's like when all that kicked in. this is what
- 1:07:56Speaker 6: made it happen. So yeah, they started putting out these,
- 1:07:58Speaker 6: these model kits and they had like awesome artwork that, um,
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: James Bama was the guy who did the, uh, the
- 1:08:04Speaker 6: original cover art on the boxes.
- 1:08:06Speaker 7: And like at this point it's become like.
- 1:08:08Speaker 6: Legendary artwork, like in the geek circles, he is like,
- 1:08:11Speaker 6: you know, has become this thing. So it's funny that
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: like all these people that were involved in it at
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: the time were just doing their job. Like they had
- 1:08:18Speaker 6: no concept that anybody cared, um, And they actually got
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: one of the guys who sculpted two of the original,
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: like the Bride of Frankenstein and this old Godzilla.
- 1:08:29Speaker 7: And he was at the show yesterday that we were at.
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: And he had never had any inkling that people cared
- 1:08:36Speaker 6: about him.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: He's like 90 some odd years old now and has,
- 1:08:40Speaker 6: you know, up until like this past year, I guess,
- 1:08:43Speaker 6: when they started putting this documentary together.
- 1:08:44Speaker 9: Had no idea.
- 1:08:45Speaker 7: Had no idea people still cared.
- 1:08:47Speaker 12: Oh, wow.
- 1:08:47Speaker 6: That there was this whole following around the Laura models
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: and that people were still.
- 1:08:51Speaker 9: Dude, no, you're a rock star.
- 1:08:52Speaker 7: Yeah, he kind of was. He was just sort of
- 1:08:54Speaker 7: in awe.
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: People were coming up to his table and talking to
- 1:08:58Speaker 6: him and telling him how influential he was.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 1:09:00Speaker 6: These generations of kids that grew up, so it's pretty
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: awesome that they kind of put a spotlight on all
- 1:09:06Speaker 6: these different people, like the people who sculpted the models,
- 1:09:09Speaker 6: the people that painted the box art, and all these
- 1:09:11Speaker 6: things that went into making them so influential. And then
- 1:09:15Speaker 6: towards the end, they get into all the people that
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: they influenced, so they have people that are working in, like,
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: sideshow toys now and like all the new series that
- 1:09:22Speaker 6: are coming out and how they are sort of drawing
- 1:09:26Speaker 6: from what they started doing on these Aurora model kits.
- 1:09:28Speaker 7: So it's, it's pretty amazing.
- 1:09:30Speaker 6: If you're into that kind of stuff, this really does
- 1:09:32Speaker 6: break it down and show you all the different parts.
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: And it gets into how it came about, like as
- 1:09:37Speaker 6: a business and then how it caught on with the
- 1:09:39Speaker 6: kids and how, you know, and how they.
- 1:09:41Speaker 7: Were, they were sort of got themselves in trouble.
- 1:09:44Speaker 6: Like you're making model kits in like the sixties of
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: like guillotines. So like, women's groups would come out and
- 1:09:51Speaker 6: like be protesting them and got the stuff banned and
- 1:09:54Speaker 6: eventually ended up like shutting down the company after years of,
- 1:09:57Speaker 6: you know, fighting over this stuff. So it's, yeah, it's
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: kind of interesting. The, the, progression all this stuff has
- 1:10:03Speaker 6: gone through especially seeing the ridiculous state that it's all
- 1:10:06Speaker 6: in now the ridiculous amount of product that there is
- 1:10:09Speaker 6: for stuff now it's amazing to go back in like
- 1:10:12Speaker 6: just a short span of time and see a time
- 1:10:14Speaker 6: when there was nothing really so it's it's pretty awesome
- 1:10:17Speaker 6: actually so Um, but yeah, we talked to Cortland Hull,
- 1:10:21Speaker 6: who is the, uh, aside from putting this movie together,
- 1:10:25Speaker 6: I think we need to plan a trip to, um, Connecticut.
- 1:10:28Speaker 9: Okay.
- 1:10:29Speaker 7: Because he also, um, he decided when he.
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: Was a kid, he was into these, but as he
- 1:10:33Speaker 6: got older, he was like, no, what I want to do,
- 1:10:35Speaker 6: the little ones just aren't enough. What I want to
- 1:10:37Speaker 6: do are life size versions of these.
- 1:10:39Speaker 12: Wow.
- 1:10:40Speaker 6: So he has actually created, like, a huge, like, horror movie, like, museum.
- 1:10:48Speaker 6: It's basically called the Witch's Dungeon Classic Movie Museum in Bristol, Connecticut.
- 1:10:52Speaker 9: We should go.
- 1:10:53Speaker 6: And he's put together all these, like, scenes from movies,
- 1:10:56Speaker 6: and he's actually recreated them with all these characters, and
- 1:11:00Speaker 6: they put it together and I think have it up
- 1:11:02Speaker 6: and running every year at Halloween.
- 1:11:04Speaker 7: So it's been going on since, like, the 60s.
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: Yeah, really. I don't know.
- 1:11:09Speaker 6: It's pretty awesome, too. So, yeah, at some point he
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: starts talking about making life-size.
- 1:11:14Speaker 7: Versions of it.
- 1:11:14Speaker 8: Awesome.
- 1:11:15Speaker 6: So that's pretty damn cool. So here is Cortland to
- 1:11:19Speaker 6: tell us about the movie itself.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: The Aurora Monsters is really a tribute to the sculptors,
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: the artists, everybody that was responsible for the Aurora Monster kits.
- 1:11:31Speaker 12: But not only that, but it's also.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: Looking back at the incredible monster craze of the 1960s.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: The toys, the games, everything that came out.
- 1:11:44Speaker 12: In the 1960s.
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: In relation to, actually, the universal horror films that were
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: released to television under the Shock Theater package.
- 1:11:52Speaker 12: And in my area.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: The one that was most responsible for kicking this off
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: the ground was really Zachary Lee, The Cool Ghoul. And
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: so that's why we felt that Zach was the best
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: choice to host this documentary. And he does it in
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: his own inimitable way. He makes it fun, but also
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: another thing is just.
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: It's very visual. We shot the Zacharly sequences at Bill
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: Diamond's studio. He had incredible sets of castle sets, very colorful.
- 1:12:32Speaker 12: When we had Zachary.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: Host the Aurora Monsters, we didn't want him to just
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: do something that was like narration. We wanted it to
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: be like his old show. And so Zach, you have
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: to understand, is 91 years old. But we'll be lucky
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: if we're that sharp and can have that much fun
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: at 91, I want to tell you. Because he was
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: just perfection in this. and I made him up to
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: look like he did in the old shows, darkened his hair,
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: did the makeup like he used to do. Then I
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: had other costumes for him for different segments where, for instance,
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: he's got his old Transylvania University cap and sweatshirt on,
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: and in this he has a sidekick, which he never
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: had before, which is Gorgo the Gargoyle, which is a
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: One of the gargoyle down spots on Zack's Castle. So
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: it brings back, I feel, the fun that the monster
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: craze of the 1960s really was.
- 1:13:33Speaker 12: A lot of people.
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: that may not have lived it don't realize how much
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: fun this all was. It was long before the internet,
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: long before VHS or DVD. The only way you could
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: see these movies was on television.
- 1:13:47Speaker 12: There wasn't a.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: Lot of merchandising out there, hardly any. And the Aurora
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: Monsters kits, they were really the first major merchandising out
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: there other than a few.
- 1:13:58Speaker 12: Of the masks. So this was really something that.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: All of us as kids at that time, we just
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: treasured this. And in the documentary, what we did, we
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: were able to interview James Bama, who was the artist
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: that did most all the covers of the classic Aurora Monsters.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: We also interviewed Ray Myers, who he sculpted the Bride
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: of Frankenstein, Godzilla, Ghidorah, and several others. We interviewed Andy Yanchis,
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: who was a project developer for Aurora. And if it
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: wasn't for him, a lot of the kits that we
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: enjoy today wouldn't have been done, including monster scenes.
- 1:14:42Speaker 12: So.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: Beyond that, we have Dan Roebuck, who is a collector
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: but also an actor.
- 1:14:48Speaker 12: He was in Lost.
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: He was in Final Destination, just to name a few.
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: He just loves this stuff and a very strong supporter
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: of the hobby, collecting.
- 1:15:00Speaker 13: Yeah, we talked to him a while back. He's a
- 1:15:03Speaker 13: big movie monster fan.
- 1:15:04Speaker 12: Yeah, that's right.
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: He just loves this stuff, and he's probably one of
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: the number one fans of Zach, too. So he was
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: just thrilled that we had Zach hosting it.
- 1:15:13Speaker 12: Then beyond that, we have such an incredible.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: Sculptor, Jeff Yeager, and besides him talking about his sculpting,
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: of course he's also an actor, but he did the
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: tribute kits to the Bama covers, so they look exactly
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: like the Bama covers. They're just amazing. And then we
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: talked to some other sculptors that were inspired by James
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: Bama's work, such as Matt Geppetto, Daniel Horn, and also
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: the future of the model kits with Sideshow Collectibles. And
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: we have a great wax figure, or I mean wax
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: sculpting demo by Matt Falls of Sideshow Collectibles. You actually
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: see him working on a head to do the sculpting
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: for the head, which is something really rare. Nobody's had
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: a chance to see before it. And then, of course,
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: Frank Winsper of Mobius Models, he talks about them carrying
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: on the tradition of the Aurora kits with Big Frankie
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: and Dr.
- 1:16:19Speaker 12: Jekyll as Mr. Hyde and others.
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: And he's taken up the torch for the monster.
- 1:16:24Speaker 7: Scenes as well.
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: So, all together, it really gives you not only a
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: history of Aurora, but where the hobby is going and.
- 1:16:33Speaker 12: It keeps the fun going throughout.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: This is something that I think, unfortunately, possibly a younger
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: generation wouldn't quite realize that the.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: The inspiration it gave many of us, and just the
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: sheer fun of it.
- 1:16:51Speaker 13: Yeah, I mean, it is, we're very sort of movie
- 1:16:53Speaker 13: geek oriented, and try to encourage that as, you know,
- 1:16:57Speaker 13: it's become, you know, the type of person that you
- 1:16:59Speaker 13: are at this point, and that's sort of like the
- 1:17:01Speaker 13: birth of it right then. I mean, you really didn't have,
- 1:17:04Speaker 13: the collecting aspect is a big part of it, it
- 1:17:06Speaker 13: seems like, and that was sort.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: Of the first real collectible for movies, and Oh, it
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: really was, because up until that time, there was hardly
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: anything out there except for maybe famous monsters.
- 1:17:16Speaker 12: That was about it.
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: And there was only one, even only one mask that
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: was out there that was of Universal, and that.
- 1:17:24Speaker 12: Was the Frankenstein mask that Don posted. The very, well.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: It wasn't detailed like the later ones, but this was
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: a very... I don't know what the right word is,
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: but at least it was a Frankenstein. That's about all
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: you had. And then you had the Ben Cooper masks,
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: and that was about it until about the mid-60s when
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: it really took off. That's when we had the monster craze,
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: and that's when Don Post Studios made some of the
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: best monster masks that.
- 1:17:53Speaker 12: Were ever made. Yeah. We're really excited about this.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: We've been working on this documentary for roughly about three years.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: It's the first in a series. We're calling it Legends
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: of Film and Fantasy. The next one that will be
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: out after this will be Makeup Wizards and then Early
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: Days of fantasy and horror films, which we've got interviews
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: with Kylo Lemley, Leonard Malt, and many others. So we've
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: got about 50 interviews already done that we're going to uh,
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: put into packages of certain areas of film, uh, fantasy
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: film and horror. So, uh, we won't, we'll be releasing
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: them maybe once every year or two. And because these
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: are a lot to compile because it is not just
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: the interviews, but like I'm talking to you, you've got
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: to edit it.
- 1:18:48Speaker 12: You have to tighten it up.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: And it really makes it much more concise and more entertaining.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: Our documentaries, we try to make very informative and we're.
- 1:19:00Speaker 12: Very, very accurate trying to get the facts right on everything.
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: But we also feel it's important to make them entertaining.
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: And that's why we included Zach. in this, and he
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: makes these goofy models that never turn out right, but
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: it makes it fun, and it shows you how much
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: fun this collecting is, the building models is, and I
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: hope that younger people, when they see this, all they've
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: been doing is sitting in front of a computer screen
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: they realize let's use our hands let's be creative let's
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: try to make something you may not be the best
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: model maker in the world you may not be the.
- 1:19:38Speaker 12: Best painter in the world but at least you've done
- 1:19:42Speaker 12: something that you can put.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: On your shelf and you can say I did that
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: And it may not be the best one that anybody
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: ever did, but it's yours.
- 1:19:50Speaker 12: And it's something you accomplished.
- 1:19:52Speaker 13: Yeah, it's something that, yeah, kids now, it's very different. Yeah,
- 1:19:56Speaker 13: it probably is necessary to almost go out of your
- 1:19:58Speaker 13: way to encourage them to do stuff like that.
- 1:20:01Speaker 12: That's what I feel. And that's one of the reasons
- 1:20:03Speaker 12: why we did this.
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: But another reason is to make people aware of such
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: wonderful artists such as Ray Myers and also people like
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: Andy Yanchis, who, if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: be enjoying... the the aurora kits today because they began
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: it and luckily other companies have brought it back to
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: us like polar lights and mobius and uh but let's
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: face it in the beginning if they hadn't done this
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: we wouldn't have them you know and i think it's
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: important to uh make people aware of these wonderful artists
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: that brought this to us in the first place.
- 1:20:40Speaker 13: Definitely definitely As far as people finding it, is it
- 1:20:45Speaker 13: something that's just getting released straight to DVD?
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Yes, it's going to be right on DVD immediately. We
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: will have it available very soon through our website, which
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: is www.preservehollywood.org or just look for the Witch's Dungeon website.
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: If you Google it, look for Witch's Dungeon in Bristol,
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: Connecticut and you'll find it. Also, if People happen to
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: be visiting in the fall in Bristol, Connecticut.
- 1:21:12Speaker 12: We hope they'll come see the Witch's Dungeon.
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: That way you can see life-size Aurora model kits and
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: scenes from the movies.
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: Nice.
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: Because 8-inch model kits for me, I needed them much bigger.
- 1:21:25Speaker 12: You can't be frightened of.
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: A little model kit. I wanted them life-size. That's how
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: it all began, and that's why I love this stuff.
- 1:21:32Speaker 6: And thanks again to Cortland for talking to us this week. Again,
- 1:21:36Speaker 6: if you're into monsters or models or any level of
- 1:21:40Speaker 6: movie geekdom it's it's a pretty fascinating movie to watch
- 1:21:43Speaker 6: and they've done a good job putting it together and
- 1:21:45Speaker 6: they keep it pretty fun with with all the uh
- 1:21:48Speaker 6: the hosts interacting in between the segments so yeah it's
- 1:21:51Speaker 6: it's a lot of fun and i would definitely say
- 1:21:52Speaker 6: to check it out do we have anything else in
- 1:21:54Speaker 6: this part of the show we want to move We've
- 1:21:58Speaker 6: veered off in many directions along the way here.
- 1:22:01Speaker 8: Michael's shopping instead.
- 1:22:04Speaker 6: Well, if we can contain Misty from shopping, I think
- 1:22:07Speaker 6: we're going to go watch the movie. So we invite
- 1:22:09Speaker 6: you to come back and join us for our second
- 1:22:11Speaker 6: half of this episode as we go into the... sofa
- 1:22:14Speaker 6: theater and watch the original mind you don't go watch
- 1:22:18Speaker 6: the wrong one no the original april fool's day so
- 1:22:22Speaker 6: come back and join.
- 1:22:23Speaker 9: Me too that's awesome have y'all seen it i've.

- 1:22:29Speaker 13: a different take.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: On stretch between the lamplight and the cigarette ash in
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: the corner of the city where the markets.
- 1:22:40Speaker 17: Crash of hope.
- 1:22:55Speaker 7: You can take a bit of red a bit of
- 1:22:57Speaker 7: white and blue from across the atlantic laying trails to.
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: You Inside all of us.
- 1:24:16Speaker 8: For occasion, if occasion demands, there is power in the chase.
- 1:24:38Speaker 17: See you next time.
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: There's Valerie Howard's butler. But we warn you, he'll bear watching.
- 1:25:39Speaker 15: Bellamy's gangsters are all set for a hijacking job.
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: Now they're into it. But will they escape?
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: See for yourself in The Fatal Spark, next week's shuddering
