- 0:00Speaker 1: For over seventy years and three generations, the Muscillo family
- 0:04Speaker 1: has been producing prosecco from their estate vineyards in the
- 0:06Speaker 1: hills surrounding the commune of Co Conegliano. Building upon a
- 0:13Speaker 1: love for time spent at the seaside with friends and
- 0:15Speaker 1: family in their love of the Italian sprits tradition, the
- 0:18Speaker 1: family created Almi Sprits in twenty twenties. Feel better, I'm
- 0:25Speaker 1: a mile the train kill the feel all right? I
- 0:28Speaker 1: feel town under the weather another time can feel all right?
- 0:33Speaker 2: Well. Here he is, ladies and gentlemen, the Potentate of
- 0:36Speaker 2: the Wine Academy of Utah. That's Wine Academy of Utah
- 0:40Speaker 2: dot com. It's Jimmy, the Potentate Santangelo, and he's brought
- 0:46Speaker 2: us this lovely a parentif.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Nice little sprits. Good morning.
- 0:50Speaker 4: I've got your new summertime fling in a bottle right here.
- 0:55Speaker 4: You're gonna love this all summer long. This is al
- 0:58Speaker 4: Mare Sprits. This is based out of Italy. It's prepackaged,
- 1:03Speaker 4: full bottle, sixteen bones at the wine store, readily available,
- 1:08Speaker 4: slightly chilled. Have this in a glass over ice, slice
- 1:12Speaker 4: of any fruit you have. We're complimenting it with orange.
- 1:15Speaker 4: That's what I recommend. Eight percent alcohol by volume, you
- 1:20Speaker 4: get launch, not much.
- 1:21Speaker 3: It's nice. So this in a straw, you're good to go.
- 1:26Speaker 3: And it's nice that it's all pre mixed, all pre
- 1:28Speaker 3: mixed early you'd have to mix this with the prosecco.
- 1:32Speaker 4: What's nice is that you know during the day, during
- 1:35Speaker 4: the morning, late morning, people are coming over for brunch.
- 1:37Speaker 3: This, that and the other low alcohol.
- 1:40Speaker 4: You've got a nice petulance, this little bubbly on the palate.
- 1:44Speaker 4: You've got both a sweet and tart, that bitter and
- 1:48Speaker 4: sweet tuggle warring back and forth. Well, you have here
- 1:52Speaker 4: the citrus fruits that really come through. You got like
- 1:55Speaker 4: your orange pith, the peel, and the citrusiness of an orange.
- 2:00Speaker 4: But then there's also this herbaceousness thing going on in
- 2:03Speaker 4: here as well, making for just a really nice apartivo
- 2:08Speaker 4: or late afternoon, late morning kind of a little bubbly beverage.
- 2:13Speaker 2: It says here a paratif. It's a pre dinner cocktail.
- 2:18Speaker 2: So thank you for the cocktail. Where's the dinner?
- 2:21Speaker 3: It's right, that's right.
- 2:23Speaker 2: You didn't bring any differ.
- 2:24Speaker 4: I got a little breakfast in a glass that's your
- 2:26Speaker 4: orange there.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Yeah, there's food there.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Built this weekend, it'd be a perfect time to get this.
- 2:33Speaker 1: It's gonna be warm, warm, sunny today and tomorrow, so
- 2:38Speaker 1: make you feel like summers is just around the corner.
- 2:41Speaker 4: And what I like about this is bikini seasons growing
- 2:43Speaker 4: around the corner. Low alcohol, but also then low sugar,
- 2:48Speaker 4: and that's really nice. There's not a ton of sugar
- 2:50Speaker 4: added this. That natural richness in there is from the varieties.
- 2:55Speaker 4: It's based on the Gallera grape variety, which is the
- 2:58Speaker 4: white grape out of prosecco that goes into your delicious prosecco.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Each and every day. This is based on that.
- 3:05Speaker 4: That's the foundation of this beautiful pre mix ready to
- 3:09Speaker 4: drink beverage.
- 3:10Speaker 3: And it's good.
- 3:10Speaker 1: It's very affordable, fifteen ninety nine.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Sixteen bucks a full bottle, and it's a real nice spritzer.
- 3:18Speaker 4: And what I when you make this, and if it
- 3:21Speaker 4: might be a little too rich or strong on the palate,
- 3:26Speaker 4: you can float a little bit of soda water on top,
- 3:29Speaker 4: a little splash. And we just had a spritzer arrival
- 3:33Speaker 4: beverage at a function I did the other day. And
- 3:37Speaker 4: that's what you do you did. I did a little
- 3:39Speaker 4: coqie Americano, which is also part of this sponsorship today.
- 3:45Speaker 4: That it's almost like a lil a from France, but
- 3:48Speaker 4: the coke is out of Italy. Hit it over a
- 3:51Speaker 4: big in a wine glass, a ton of ice two
- 3:54Speaker 4: ounces or an ounce, and had you know, a thousand
- 3:57Speaker 4: count however, fast for and then and float about a
- 4:01Speaker 4: two count of prosecco, and then a two kind of
- 4:04Speaker 4: soda water, A stir, a stir astir, nice swath of lemon,
- 4:07Speaker 4: good to go.
- 4:09Speaker 3: So it's not uncommon to add soda water.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Would it'd be bad for me to to just drink
- 4:13Speaker 2: it out of the bottle?
- 4:15Speaker 3: I thought you're gonna say to add bourbon.
- 4:18Speaker 2: I don't think that would go too well.
- 4:19Speaker 1: But can I ask an uncomfortable question?
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yes, I don't know. Can you ask?
- 4:27Speaker 2: I don't know?
- 4:28Speaker 3: Can you I don't think you can.
- 4:30Speaker 1: My husband and I went to the wine store and
- 4:32Speaker 1: we're stalking up on Italian and French wines because we're
- 4:35Speaker 1: worried they're gonna get more expensive with tariffs, and.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Right, what what? What are your great questions? So that
- 4:42Speaker 3: is the topic of the day.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Tariffs in some industries is that once the products on
- 4:50Speaker 4: the water, once it's I mean that once it's shipped
- 4:55Speaker 4: on a container ship, once that leaves the port and
- 4:58Speaker 4: is on water one point three auticle miles from shore
- 5:01Speaker 4: international waters, that's the moment it's marked as whatever the.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Tariff is of that day, hour or moment.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Yeah the case maybe, and then uh, that's what it
- 5:12Speaker 4: gets locked in at.
- 5:14Speaker 3: But that was about seventy two three four days ago. Information.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Okay, so right, try to keep up.
- 5:23Speaker 1: So but my question is, are you're not seeing prices
- 5:26Speaker 1: go up yet?
- 5:28Speaker 3: Not yet? Stuff?
- 5:29Speaker 2: You know, I mean a sus prosecco that she buys
- 5:32Speaker 2: us on sale this week when I went.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Nice and by so to your point, when prices go
- 5:37Speaker 4: up for whatever reason, we saw this durn COVID with
- 5:40Speaker 4: supply chain disruption.
- 5:43Speaker 3: With product arriving.
- 5:44Speaker 4: It did go up slightly due to product and demand
- 5:48Speaker 4: supply and demand supply was limited because of those that
- 5:51Speaker 4: choke hold.
- 5:52Speaker 3: But uh, and then they never come down. They don't,
- 5:55Speaker 3: they don't get readjusted. They're only going to go They're
- 5:58Speaker 3: only gonna go out, so hopefully we can slide them
- 6:00Speaker 3: in before.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Well, I guess I'll just have to give up drinking yep,
- 6:04Speaker 2: we're good luck with that.
- 6:08Speaker 4: No, but good question, French inn. If you like, and
- 6:11Speaker 4: I always say this to folks, if you find a
- 6:13Speaker 4: bottle of wine that you like, whether it's seven ninety nine,
- 6:17Speaker 4: seventeen ninety nine, forty nine ninety nine, if you like
- 6:21Speaker 4: that wine, don't assume it's going to be at that
- 6:24Speaker 4: same price, vintage after vintage after year after year after
- 6:28Speaker 4: season after season. Buy six by two, buy a number
- 6:33Speaker 4: of buy a case and just put it downstairs in
- 6:38Speaker 4: the cellar in a cool, dry, consistent temperature area.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Doesn't have to be a fancy of a cellar. If
- 6:43Speaker 3: it is a.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Corked bottle, and a bottle with a cork closure, and
- 6:47Speaker 4: it's a red or something like that, put it on
- 6:49Speaker 4: its side and this way you keep that cork.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Moist and you'll you'll save yourself.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Some aggravation of like I've been having this since you
- 6:58Speaker 4: know it was now it's double a prop or this
- 7:00Speaker 4: or that.
- 7:00Speaker 3: You know, whatever the.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Case is is it is it possible to buy a
- 7:03Speaker 2: keg of bourbon.
- 7:05Speaker 3: You can buy a bar like a barrel.
- 7:09Speaker 4: You know what's fun is you can go on and
- 7:11Speaker 4: get those little five gallon barrels Uh, and put your
- 7:16Speaker 4: own like. So we've made mixed barrel aged Manhattan's in that,
- 7:22Speaker 4: so you have a Manhattan on the tape.
- 7:24Speaker 3: You know. This is all for private consumption. Uh. And
- 7:28Speaker 3: that's a lot of fun.
- 7:28Speaker 4: I mostly I've only done Beryl Manhattan's once, but I'm
- 7:33Speaker 4: more of a fan of a barrel age new groning.
- 7:37Speaker 3: That kind of a thing, a barrel like that. Yah
- 7:40Speaker 3: yeah on Amazon. Yeah.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Have you got any events coming up with the Wine
- 7:47Speaker 2: Academy of Utah?
- 7:48Speaker 3: I do.
- 7:49Speaker 4: There's a special event in Lehigh. Buddy of mine, Dax Williamson.
- 7:52Speaker 4: He is third generation owner of Lucky Sole Shoe Repair
- 7:57Speaker 4: and he's having a grand opening. He inherited this space
- 8:00Speaker 4: from his dad. He's third generation cobbler right there on
- 8:04Speaker 4: Main Street in Lehigh. He redid the whole space and
- 8:08Speaker 4: he's activating the both the shoe shop backyard inside.
- 8:13Speaker 3: It's gonna be a big festival.
- 8:15Speaker 4: We're gonna have food trucks where we're gonna activate it
- 8:18Speaker 4: with alcohol. You can buy tickets. The bar is gonna
- 8:21Speaker 4: be takeover with water which our friends over here at Waterwich,
- 8:25Speaker 4: so some high end quality stuff and I'm gonna be
- 8:28Speaker 4: doing I'm gonna be doing a whiskey and leather pairing
- 8:32Speaker 4: and this is okay. You don't have to wear your chap.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Are whips involved in rips? Thank you, sir. May I
- 8:40Speaker 3: have another.
- 8:41Speaker 4: What we're doing is we're doing three different styles of
- 8:44Speaker 4: whiskeys from different areas. But then Dax is gonna speak
- 8:47Speaker 4: to different types of hides, different types of leathers.
- 8:50Speaker 3: This is authentic stuff. About thirty two people.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Tickets go to ticket tickets.
- 8:57Speaker 3: I did put it down here.
- 9:00Speaker 4: I'll have to tell you can go to winakeemyuta dot
- 9:02Speaker 4: com for more ticket information. But there's a special it's
- 9:06Speaker 4: not event right, but there's a simplex tickets is where
- 9:09Speaker 4: you can get it.
- 9:10Speaker 3: That's not very clear, but just I bet it.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I bet it, Winea Callary of Utah, you'll put it.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, I'll get it right there. But yeah, it's
- 9:17Speaker 3: going to be a fun event. And what date is that?
- 9:19Speaker 4: That is? It is May third at four thirty pm,
- 9:24Speaker 4: so it's the whole weekend. He's activating that space for
- 9:27Speaker 4: a second through the fourth. Yeah, May second through the
- 9:30Speaker 4: four that's going to be a fun one. Lucky Sole
- 9:33Speaker 4: Shoe Repair, Lucky Solici.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And then is our beverage is going to be a
- 9:38Speaker 2: continuing feature of his cobbler shop.
- 9:40Speaker 4: You know, I don't want to let the cat out
- 9:42Speaker 4: of the bag, but that's the intention. But in Lehigh,
- 9:44Speaker 4: you've got some zoning things that are are soon. The
- 9:50Speaker 4: sun is going to set on that and he'll be
- 9:52Speaker 4: able to activate that. So it's going to be a
- 9:54Speaker 4: saloon eventually. But right now we're super excited for the
- 9:58Speaker 4: grand opening.
- 9:59Speaker 3: You know, he inherited the shop and he grew up
- 10:03Speaker 3: in it, and.
- 10:03Speaker 4: He knew all the customers, most of them they've known
- 10:06Speaker 4: him since he was grown up. And he said, you know,
- 10:09Speaker 4: I'm just gonna I'm just gonna finish up all the
- 10:11Speaker 4: work and see what.
- 10:13Speaker 3: I'm gonna do with the building.
- 10:14Speaker 4: He had a different career, and uh, he just fell
- 10:18Speaker 4: back in love with the industry, the trade, the people.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Everybody kept bringing all their stuff in. He's never been
- 10:24Speaker 4: busier and he's got this beautiful remodel and I couldn't
- 10:29Speaker 4: be happier for a small businessman, third generation Lehigh. You
- 10:32Speaker 4: can't get more authentic of a business. Is this the trade,
- 10:36Speaker 4: the practice?
- 10:37Speaker 3: It's great.
- 10:38Speaker 2: You can you can go get your your shoes resold
- 10:40Speaker 2: and get a snoopful.
- 10:41Speaker 3: That's right, drink out of the Balleri and slipper.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Looking for that the baler, it's Jimmy Santangelo. It's Wine
- 10:51Speaker 2: Academy of Utah dot com. He is the potentate of
- 10:55Speaker 2: that organization and you can find all things Jimmy.
- 10:58Speaker 3: There. You've got a guy enjoy weekend. Thanks
