SPEAKER_03: Now, I have to play this for you.
• 1:19
SPEAKER_03: Uh I have not heard this yet, but we've spent time, I'm gonna I'm gonna say it diplomatically.
• 1:25
SPEAKER_03: We've spent a lot of time over the years trying to understand the younger end of the millennial generation and then the Gen Z generation.
• 1:32
SPEAKER_03: And I think we're getting a grasp of, you know, as they continue to age up, they're finding their way.
• 1:38
SPEAKER_03: They're we may not have totally elder millennial Gen X are right here.
• 1:42
SPEAKER_03: We may not, we may not have understood the logic behind it at this point.
• 1:46
SPEAKER_03: Uh, but now we're starting to see, okay, you're beginning to come into your own.
• 1:50
SPEAKER_03: So there's a positive that has happened.
• 1:52
SPEAKER_03: Now, I will tell you, I've been highly impressed with the Gen Alpha uh age group, which is Gavin Z, right?
• 2:00
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, because um somewhere where we got lost with Gen Z and stuff, and we're like, are you interested in working or having kids or are you job hopping everything?
• 2:11
  SPEAKER_01: No commitment, like what's I think it's correction.
• 2:14
SPEAKER_01: We were learning from some mistakes, and once you start seeing the mistakes or seeing the hurdles, then then you start to correct it.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_01: And that's been fixing it.
• 2:24
SPEAKER_01: That's where Gen Alpha kind of wins, though, too, is because you have a generation who's like, oh shoot, we forgot to teach them like this is a good example, uh, how to have eye contact.
• 2:34
SPEAKER_01: We mentioned that in our podcast recently.
• 2:36
SPEAKER_03: So that's those things that we're like getting out, living life as opposed to staying indoors and just you know, breaking your neck, looking at a phone, things like that.
• 2:44
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 2:45
SPEAKER_03: So anyway, there is something called the Gen Alpha melody, and it's a YouTuber that says the same chord progression can be found in many Gen Alpha songs.
• 2:54
SPEAKER_03: Here are several of his examples.
• 2:57
SPEAKER_03: I just want you to hear what this sounds like you might start hearing this, or you may have, and you're like, oh, that's the generation that's got this.
• 3:03
SPEAKER_00: Don't you want to be like a bunch of babies?
• 3:07
SPEAKER_00: Don't you baby like a teacher down?
• 3:12
SPEAKER_00: Everything is not you're talking about.
• 3:16
  SPEAKER_00: It's it's a bad Nobody said, Okay, it's got it.
• 3:42
SPEAKER_00: Easy to do, but it's not easy.
• 3:47
SPEAKER_00: We'll make it for you.
• 3:53
SPEAKER_01: Do you notice what it sounds like?
• 3:55
  SPEAKER_01: A little 80s-ish.
• 3:56
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 4:02
SPEAKER_01: That's not what I thought you were gonna play.
• 4:13
SPEAKER_03: Shed and you hear that sound that goes.
• 4:16
SPEAKER_03: Is that the one we're thinking?
• 4:18
SPEAKER_01: I thought it was gonna be EDM techno, like bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum.
• 4:26
  SPEAKER_02: Meow, meow.
• 4:28
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 4:28
SPEAKER_03: Are you sure you you want to just get a little more out?
• 4:33
SPEAKER_01: I thought that's what it was gonna be, but this one is is like Yeah, it's fine.
• 4:38
SPEAKER_01: A little doctor office, actually.
• 4:40
SPEAKER_03: I thought I thought it was going, but you're right, there is an 80s vibe to that.
• 4:45
  SPEAKER_03: There absolutely was.
• 4:46
SPEAKER_03: I thought that it was gonna be there is a sound, and it it happens in all the videos that Gavin watches, and I think it's meant to be a breaker, and that's what I thought it was gonna be, like a breaker between one scene and the other.
• 4:58
SPEAKER_01: And to catch your attention to make sure you have to like snap yourself into attention.
• 5:02
SPEAKER_03: Uh if I had get your sound effects ready.
• 5:05
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm ready.
• 5:06
SPEAKER_02: I'm standing there, I've got dinner out on the island, and there, you know, Gavin's watching a video on the iPad, and and what we're gonna do here now is we're gonna get ready blowing up this she shed, but all of a sudden, if we get it just in the right spot, we're gonna be able to send it to the mood.
• 5:25
SPEAKER_01: Mew, mew mew, mew, mew, mew.
• 5:26
SPEAKER_01: It's a weird although I don't think they have the meow mew mew anymore.
• 5:29
SPEAKER_03: No, the mew mew mew is gone.
• 5:31
SPEAKER_01: That's like the mew mew mew, I was more of my generation.
• 5:34
SPEAKER_01: Party horn, which I hate.
• 5:36
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm all a good party horn.
• 5:37
SPEAKER_01: No, I will I'll do I'll listen to some EDM house music sometimes when I'm at the gym.
• 5:42
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 5:42
SPEAKER_01: And when I hear that that party horn.
• 5:45
SPEAKER_01: Oh god, I hate it.
• 5:46
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, just get that party horn right out of there.
• 5:48
SPEAKER_02: I find it just greatly unnoxious.
• 5:51
SPEAKER_01: It's the same as, you know, in the early 2000s, there was another thing that I also hated in songs, and do you know what it was?
• 5:56
  SPEAKER_01: Dog Child.
• 5:58
  SPEAKER_01: Remember?
• 5:59
SPEAKER_01: Every song would be like, Dog Child.
• 6:01
  SPEAKER_03: No, it's Dark Child.
• 6:03
SPEAKER_01: I thought it says dog child.
• 6:04
  SPEAKER_01: No, it's dark child.
• 6:06
SPEAKER_03: It's a Ja Rule song or whatever.
• 6:08
  SPEAKER_01: No, it's like 19 songs.
• 6:10
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 6:11
SPEAKER_03: They're giving a shout out to the producer.
• 6:13
SPEAKER_01: It could be Beyonce, it could be J Lo, and all of a sudden, is it really Dark Child?
• 6:20
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's that's a shout-out to the producer.
• 6:23
SPEAKER_03: Oh God, is it Dark Child or Dog Child?
• 6:25
SPEAKER_03: I've I've been I thought it was Dark Child all forever.
• 6:28
SPEAKER_03: And I work in this business.
• 6:30
SPEAKER_01: Oh, the correct phrase is dark child.
• 6:32
SPEAKER_01: I thought it was dog child this whole time.
• 6:34
  SPEAKER_01: Where's my bell?
• 6:35
  SPEAKER_01: God dang it.
• 6:36
SPEAKER_01: Referencing it's the famous producer tag used by Rodney Jerkins.
• 6:40
  SPEAKER_01: What a name.
• 6:41
  SPEAKER_01: Wow.
• 6:41
SPEAKER_01: Jerkins, he totally got picked on in school.
• 6:44
SPEAKER_01: The dog child is a very common misheard lyric that people thought they heard at the start of the late 90s, early 2000s RB.
• 6:52
