- 0:00Becker's inbounds, quickly gets it back from Brady Becker's at mid court of heat
- 0:05made it. She made it, and tells Jordan King take that. Wow,
- 0:17you know. Sooner or later Paige was gonna make one of those.
- 0:20She buries one from mid court at the horn and UKN with a forty nine
- 0:25thirty eight lead at the break. Yeah, that was the call of halftime.
- 0:31The shot the Page hit on Tuesday night, I thought, I thought
- 0:35Jordan King shot was really really tough. Yeah, there was a player right
- 0:39in her face, like we had her, really, we had her guarden.
- 0:41She made a tough, tough shot, and I was like, damn.
- 0:45I was looking over like, what the hell just happened? And then
- 0:48Page throws up that prayer, you know, and then acts like and and
- 0:57she came over to me and questioned me today. She goes, you said
- 1:00it was luck. I said, people said it was luck. She goes,
- 1:04no, I heard you said it was luck. I said, you
- 1:07know, And then CD comes over and goes, yeah, it was luck.
- 1:11Page. That's all there is to it. And you you would be
- 1:15surprised how many of those shots Page makes every day in practice where she's just
- 1:21falling around at the end of practice. It's uncanny how many she makes.
- 1:26It really is. Yeah, well she's she's a special player geno. So
- 1:30you know, yeah, things things, just things just happened for her.
- 1:34And and it was great because we went into halftime, you know, with
- 1:38a great momentum boost because it could have gone the other way with with Jordan
- 1:45Jordan's shot. Yep, but yeah, that sent us into the locker room.
- 1:49Want to you know, pretty good, pretty good? Wave was good.
- 1:55I liked you. I liked your comment post game when you're referring to
- 1:57page somebody must have asked you about her. I mean, you look at
- 2:00the stat sheet. She had two rebounds, okay, she said more,
- 2:05five assists, two blocks, two steals, and you were mentioning about the
- 2:08fact that she wants to be good at everything that she does on both sides
- 2:12of the basketball. I mean, this is a young lady that has an
- 2:15enormous basketball like you. Yeah, yeah, just ask her. We have
- 2:29a lot of fun because there's there's nothing that she thinks she doesn't know.
- 2:37And if you catch her on something that she doesn't know, she will tell
- 2:39you the reason she doesn't know it is because you don't know it and she's
- 2:44actually right and you're wrong, which really doesn't make any sense, but she
- 2:49tries to, you know, get convoluted with that, you know. I
- 2:52jokingly asked her, what was it to the Paul game? We had her
- 2:53court side? Who files less her Nika? She said to me, of
- 2:58course Less. Yes, Well, there's a lot. There's a lot that
- 3:04goes on in Page's mind and the people that that are like that, and
- 3:15I've certainly had a few obviously with the teams that we've had. The players
- 3:20that are like that, they just you know, people say, well,
- 3:23if I practiced, or if I got coaching, or if I had this,
- 3:27if I had that, I could be like that. No, you
- 3:30couldn't know, you couldn't. Players like that are born with a sense like
- 3:36they're It's like why are certain cars different than other cars? Probably because they're
- 3:43wired different. There's why are some computer systems better than others? You know,
- 3:47they're just put together different. She's just put together different than everybody else.
- 3:54And there's other players that obviously have come along that have been at that
- 3:59level, but the average player never gets to where she gets. And that
- 4:03allows her to have so much confidence in herself now that confidence also comes from
- 4:10how much time she spends in the gym when nobody's watching. And people don't
- 4:15understand that part of it. You know, they think she's just Paige the
- 4:17social media star. People would people would be shocked at the amount of time
- 4:24the Page spends in the gym by herself just inventing shots. How about the
- 4:30shot? The best shot I've seen Page make since she's been at Yukon was
- 4:34the drive against had the Marquette at the Excel Center, where she would pass
- 4:41the basket and turn back this way and spun the ball a certain way to
- 4:46get and made a layup. That's a shot that you could go in the
- 4:49gym and try to make for the next six months and you won't make one
- 4:54of them. But she practices those things. She's like a pull shark,
- 5:00you know, people that shoot pool, those of you that are pretty good
- 5:02pool players. She knows how to put a certain spin on the ball that
- 5:09allows her to have a chance to make that shot every single time. Some
- 5:14kids go in there and I go fifty. When we get a kid with
- 5:17a breakaway lap, We're always like, chase it, chase it, chase
- 5:20it. Because people miss a lot of laps. That's just how much money
- 5:26these guys are getting paid. And they can't make a lab anyway. That's
- 5:29another story. But Page practices making layups ninety seven different ways, so when
- 5:34she gets in the lane, there's never a time when she's at a loss
- 5:39for like, how do I get the ball on the rim to spin the
- 5:42right way? Kyrie Irving has that he's the only one I've seen that's got
- 5:46the kind of imagination and repertoire that that Page has. So she's a unique
- 5:55she's a unique kid. And you know, you say, what's the biggest
- 6:00the biggest difference between our team right now than two months ago, I would
- 6:04say, we've adapted and she's adapted to playing together. Which in the beginning
- 6:12the season, everybody was just so glad that Page was back. Everybody was
- 6:15so excited that Page was back, that we just stood there in admired Page
- 6:20playing. You know, we admire Page getting thirty two points against NC State
- 6:26or something and us getting our ass beat by a lot, Like what was
- 6:29the point? You might as well have two instead of thirty two. But
- 6:32after a while, you know, we started to you know, and she's
- 6:36a big part of that. She's just so, I wish she was,
- 6:43you know, I wish she was a little more physical, like bigger.
- 6:50I wish she could handle getting hit better because people just you know, she's
- 6:55the worst officiated player, great player in America today. Every other kid like
- 7:01her. Every time somebody comes near them, boom, they go to the
- 7:05free throw line. They let people beat the crap out of page. And
- 7:11that's going to stop sooner rather than later. I might miss a couple of
- 7:16games, but that's going to stop, all right now. On that note,
- 7:21we'll take another break. Notre names coming up on Saturday nights. We'll
- 7:26talk of the Irish. We'll even talk a little. Leah Edwards says,
