Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: Well, it's Friday, the happiest day of the week. I
- 0:11Speaker 1: know we say this every week, but it's fry yay,
- 0:13Speaker 1: let's say it again. There's a reason so cliches become
- 0:16Speaker 1: cliches because they're true.
- 0:18Speaker 2: It's fy yay yay. You're with No Dribble strapping.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to No Dribble, the podcast where we
- 0:37Speaker 1: talk about netball or we talk about so much more.
- 0:40Speaker 1: And yes we will talk about round thirteen's results of
- 0:43Speaker 1: the Valid.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Ribble's tipp in com because we totally forgot to.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Do it in Wednesday's episode. But you know, them's the breaks.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Patience is a virtue. I'm Caroline Swindle, I'm.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Cathcox, I'm Lose Ellis and here we are again.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Hello, Hi, Hi, Hi everyone.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Mister.
- 0:58Speaker 4: I think we need to start doing jayl type costume
- 1:01Speaker 4: changes because it looks like we've filmed the same day
- 1:07Speaker 4: two episodes.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Which is extraordinary that we just happened to pick the
- 1:10Speaker 1: same outfit.
- 1:10Speaker 4: It's amazing.
- 1:13Speaker 1: No, we never claimed to have any more up to
- 1:15Speaker 1: date information on a Friday than we had in a
- 1:17Speaker 1: Wednesday episode, because we do record at the same time.
- 1:21Speaker 1: But one thing we didn't talk about that I think
- 1:23Speaker 1: is just lovely and poignant and such a crazy, sad
- 1:28Speaker 1: but beautiful coincidence with what's going on. The Big Freeze
- 1:32Speaker 1: was on on the weekend and this is obviously a
- 1:34Speaker 1: massive fundraiser for Mode of Your Own Disease. Neil Danaher,
- 1:39Speaker 1: who was the driving force behind this, passed away from
- 1:43Speaker 1: Mode of your Own Disease ten days ago. Jay Arrow
- 1:47Speaker 1: from the NRL has just had to retire in the
- 1:52Speaker 1: middle of an extraordinary rugby league career because he very
- 1:56Speaker 1: sadly has Mode of your Own Disease. But the Big
- 1:58Speaker 1: Freeze is a very joyful fundraiser that happens every year.
- 2:04Speaker 1: The Governor General was involved in it this year, and
- 2:07Speaker 1: our very own Joe Weston was involved.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Did you see it?
- 2:10Speaker 4: Did I didn't see it at the time, but I've
- 2:12Speaker 4: seen it all over socials, which I absolutely love. So
- 2:16Speaker 4: she was Kylie Minogue, Oh my god, and didn't she
- 2:19Speaker 4: rock that outfit?
- 2:20Speaker 1: Oh my god, Oh my god, that outfit so well, yeah, yeah,
- 2:25Speaker 1: she rocked.
- 2:25Speaker 3: It so well. I didn't realize it was Joe because
- 2:28Speaker 3: I saw it on socials afterwards because I was out
- 2:30Speaker 3: at state championships and so they the social posts that
- 2:35Speaker 3: I saw was Kylie Minogue has done the big phrase,
- 2:37Speaker 3: and I'm like, I saw the well and then I
- 2:41Speaker 3: saw the video and I thought, no, that's not Kylie Vnogue.
- 2:43Speaker 3: But Joe looked so different. But then as soon as
- 2:48Speaker 3: she smiled, you, oh, it's Joe Wesson. But it took
- 2:50Speaker 3: me a few seconds to work out was it k
- 2:54Speaker 3: It was Joe? But my god she I mean, she's
- 2:58Speaker 3: beautiful anyway, but put a glamour up like that jeep,
- 3:02Speaker 3: it's creepers. So no, it was great. And also, may
- 3:05Speaker 3: I say, Governor General is also the patron of Netball Australia,
- 3:08Speaker 3: so Neddie was represented twice.
- 3:09Speaker 4: So Tilly Garrett did the Adelaide local big she was
- 3:14Speaker 4: Taylor Swift. So the pop princess has got a big
- 3:17Speaker 4: run on the weekend. But let me tell you a
- 3:19Speaker 4: funny story. So three separate people sent me a screenshot
- 3:24Speaker 4: of their phones that didn't know netball as well as
- 3:28Speaker 4: we did, obviously, and had typed in who was the
- 3:30Speaker 4: netballer that did the big freeze right to find out
- 3:33Speaker 4: who it was? And then what came up just under
- 3:36Speaker 4: in their search engines was who is the father of
- 3:40Speaker 4: Cath Cox's daughter. Oh right, how alarming? Is that? Even
- 3:45Speaker 4: more alarming when you click on it it says long
- 3:49Speaker 4: term partner Luke. I'm like, that's more alarming than anything, because.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Not all parts of the internet update in a timely fashion.
- 3:59Speaker 4: How do you dated to say she's happily single and husband.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I'm gonna say, we need to we need to change
- 4:06Speaker 3: that because who knows how many eligible bachelors are searching
- 4:09Speaker 3: up well, Catherine Cox is a bit of all right,
- 4:11Speaker 3: they go, oh, she's good a long term so we
- 4:13Speaker 3: need to how do we change that algorithm? Like, we
- 4:16Speaker 3: need to sort of we need to talk a lot
- 4:19Speaker 3: more about the fact that you are happily single. But
- 4:22Speaker 3: everybody getting.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Engines, everyone getting your Google search engines, and right, I
- 4:28Speaker 1: am looking for a boyfriend for Catherine Cox and then
- 4:31Speaker 1: maybe it will work it out.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Yes, anyway, that was a big yeah, big time, But
- 4:37Speaker 4: also were moving away from the very good topic that
- 4:39Speaker 4: was the big freeze. Yeah, so good to see them.
- 4:42Speaker 4: You can only imagine how cold that water.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Is, though, But did you see when she came up
- 4:46Speaker 1: out of the water, the first thing she checked to
- 4:48Speaker 1: see if it was still in places the boobs.
- 4:50Speaker 4: And the wig and the wig I noticed.
- 4:52Speaker 1: But the boobs were first and then the week God,
- 4:56Speaker 1: but well done, well done Joe of course, Liz Watson.
- 5:00Speaker 2: It was it last year? List did it dressed as
- 5:01Speaker 2: Barbie or before?
- 5:03Speaker 4: It was last year?
- 5:04Speaker 1: But that's really great Garrett and Tillie Garrett and a
- 5:07Speaker 1: great great cause to get behind. Obviously a very tragic
- 5:12Speaker 1: condition that I believe is uncurable at this stage.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Yeah, so yeah, it was. It was lovely to see Catherine.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Have you ever been asked to do it?
- 5:21Speaker 1: No?
- 5:22Speaker 3: Have you? Would you? Would you do it?
- 5:24Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 5:25Speaker 3: Okay, you might be the next netballer up?
- 5:27Speaker 2: Would you do it?
- 5:27Speaker 4: Oh? What have you got to say in this?
- 5:29Speaker 3: Oh no, no, not at all. No, but I'm just
- 5:31Speaker 3: thinking if anyone heres. So I get asked every year,
- 5:34Speaker 3: but I've always got like kids spored on at the moment,
- 5:36Speaker 3: so when I'm not default neck deep in kids sport?
- 5:40Speaker 4: Do you get to choose your own character?
- 5:42Speaker 3: Who would you be?
- 5:43Speaker 2: Who would you be?
- 5:44Speaker 4: That's a big, big olive oil.
- 5:46Speaker 2: No, that character from the Minion's movie.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Oh yes, yeah, I would be the Yeah, that would
- 5:54Speaker 3: be me Scarlet over because you're.
- 5:55Speaker 4: A really freaking child. Out to see you dressed up Scarlet, but.
- 6:00Speaker 3: I think you and I could do it together, Catherine,
- 6:01Speaker 3: when our lives permit, we would like to do we
- 6:04Speaker 3: could be a duo.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Well, remember we did that for the World Cup. I'm
- 6:09Speaker 4: not sure if we've told this story on No Dribble before.
- 6:12Speaker 4: This is taking a bit of a detour, but when
- 6:14Speaker 4: we went to the World Cup.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Which is we never take details, follow.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Topic script exactly.
- 6:20Speaker 4: World Cup in New Zealand because it was such a
- 6:24Speaker 4: big it's a massive tournament obviously, because there's so much
- 6:27Speaker 4: interest in New Zealand and they are so passionate about you.
- 6:30Speaker 4: This is nineteen ninety seven, this is last year. Sorry, apologies.
- 6:36Speaker 4: We did everything we could to protect ourselves from any
- 6:40Speaker 4: outside noise, any distractions, anything. So because we knew New
- 6:46Speaker 4: Zealand people would know where we were staying, which hotel,
- 6:48Speaker 4: we gave ourselves all fake names, so anytime anyone rang up,
- 6:53Speaker 4: they had to say, can I speak to Batman and
- 6:55Speaker 4: Robin or something like that?
- 6:57Speaker 3: Which was us? That was you and Cherrell, That's right?
- 7:01Speaker 4: Yeah, what would Selena and I can't even remember what
- 7:04Speaker 4: we were now.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Twitter Selena was something funny and remember for us, Yeah,
- 7:09Speaker 3: well I think it might have been, but whatever. You
- 7:11Speaker 3: guys were Selena's husband, So there was some sort of
- 7:15Speaker 3: mix up. Were you going to tell this story? Caster?
- 7:17Speaker 3: But you can go, So there was some sort of
- 7:19Speaker 3: mix up. No one had told reception. One group of
- 7:22Speaker 3: reception people knew the grip didn't know. And so Selena's
- 7:26Speaker 3: husband rang and he was like, can I speak to
- 7:28Speaker 3: Sultan paper and they were like what this went on
- 7:31Speaker 3: fift He couldn't arg he was so fashionate and this
- 7:38Speaker 3: is in the days before mobiles, and he goes. Eventually
- 7:41Speaker 3: he goes, can I just speak to Selena Gilson? And
- 7:45Speaker 3: they went, yeah, putting it through now.
- 7:48Speaker 2: A complete system failed.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Oh god, I love it. And it was off the
- 7:53Speaker 3: back of what was the movie Pokahontas or something. Someone
- 7:56Speaker 3: was poking, Oh, yes, that's right, nodding here, and so
- 8:00Speaker 3: Julia Robert wild Bee and so we're all like, oh, yeah,
- 8:02Speaker 3: we're just we're so fake. Was like, we'll give ourselves
- 8:05Speaker 3: fake names, and we need to do it.
- 8:07Speaker 4: But I think it was because there was a few
- 8:08Speaker 4: phone calls. Remember the tour before there were people were
- 8:11Speaker 4: getting prank phone calls in the middle of the night.
- 8:13Speaker 4: The phone would just ring and then hang up, so
- 8:15Speaker 4: it did come off the back of that as well.
- 8:17Speaker 4: But anyway, it was a disaster but very funny. So yes,
- 8:20Speaker 4: we'll need to have a thing about who our dynamic
- 8:22Speaker 4: duo is then, Liz.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I don't think that the sleds work that way. They're
- 8:25Speaker 1: tiny little sleds you'd be lucky to get.
- 8:27Speaker 4: We can do a little tutuo train, no one behind
- 8:29Speaker 4: the other.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Have you ever done that when you shouldn't have done it?
- 8:32Speaker 3: At the water slides?
- 8:33Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 8:33Speaker 2: Yes?
- 8:36Speaker 3: Oh god? Would I still do at balana? Anyway? I
- 8:40Speaker 3: was trying to teach my kids how to do it.
- 8:41Speaker 3: They'm like, Mom, you're not allowed to do that. I'm
- 8:43Speaker 3: don't be such rule followers. Oh I know.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Back in the eighties, it's just to see if you
- 8:47Speaker 4: could leave for another day.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Wasn't it so dangerous?
- 8:51Speaker 1: I think if you do the big freezer you're less
- 8:53Speaker 1: likely to pick up some type of skin condition than
- 8:55Speaker 1: you would on the water slides.
- 8:56Speaker 4: No, that's true.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Have you ever been to there's a war to park
- 9:00Speaker 1: in Dubai at its next door it standers the palm
- 9:05Speaker 1: there was? Anyway, there's one there that's called the Leap
- 9:08Speaker 1: of Faith, and it's it's it's it's almost vertical. I mean,
- 9:11Speaker 1: you know, it's clearly not because that's not safe, but
- 9:14Speaker 1: it feels vertical. And I thought, I'm going to do
- 9:17Speaker 1: this thing, and I'm scared of heights, so I just
- 9:19Speaker 1: charged up up the stairs, was not looking out to
- 9:22Speaker 1: my left on the right on the stairs, got to
- 9:24Speaker 1: the top and there's two girls there going you go first,
- 9:27Speaker 1: now you go first to one another. And then I'm
- 9:30Speaker 1: just standing there thinking I don't have long before I
- 9:32Speaker 1: chicken out here. And they turned to me and said,
- 9:34Speaker 1: do you want to go first? And I said, yep,
- 9:35Speaker 1: I want to go first. So they put me on
- 9:38Speaker 1: and then the woman who was running it said to me,
- 9:41Speaker 1: do you want Do you want us to push you?
- 9:43Speaker 1: And it's like, yeah, I think you probably should, so
- 9:45Speaker 1: she pushed me down and this thing like it does
- 9:48Speaker 1: feel like a vertical drop and it's only going for
- 9:50Speaker 1: a second, but then you you slow down and you
- 9:53Speaker 1: go through a tube that goes through the aquarium full
- 9:55Speaker 1: of shark. Oh yes, and then you stop at the
- 9:59Speaker 1: end and the guy and I said, I said to
- 10:02Speaker 1: the guy, did I scream?
- 10:03Speaker 2: He said, oh, yes, madam, very loud.
- 10:06Speaker 4: What about the wedgie though? Yeah, is that like, yeah,
- 10:08Speaker 4: crochet hook type things.
- 10:10Speaker 3: So the first thing Joe.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Weston did was stand up and check a breast. First
- 10:13Speaker 1: thing I did was stand up and you know, just
- 10:15Speaker 1: just get the backside back into this.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Thank goodness, you did.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Children by then I actually was Dottie was only about
- 10:22Speaker 1: six months old, so Lewis was five. So there's all
- 10:25Speaker 1: sorts of mess going on still at that stage.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Well, don't worry, you left it in the water park.
- 10:32Speaker 1: So we have to take a break because we need
- 10:34Speaker 1: a longer netball segment. So we've got to get straight
- 10:36Speaker 1: into the netball because we need to talk about netball,
- 10:39Speaker 1: but also the Valor Dribblers tipping comp. Okay, so apologies
- 10:53Speaker 1: that we didn't get to this in Wednesday's episode, because
- 10:56Speaker 1: I know that for some of you you're still worried
- 10:59Speaker 1: about where you are the ladder. I freed myself from
- 11:01Speaker 1: that pressure a long time ago. So let's talk about
- 11:05Speaker 1: round thirteen Valor Dribbler's tipping comp and then I want
- 11:08Speaker 1: to talk about some.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Other netball issues.
- 11:10Speaker 1: But we have one clear leader at the moment, sitting
- 11:14Speaker 1: at the top of the ladder, and we're going to
- 11:16Speaker 1: go dark on the ladder after today, so you will
- 11:20Speaker 1: not be able to look on the ladder and see
- 11:22Speaker 1: whether you have won. We will tell you in Wednesday's episode.
- 11:26Speaker 1: So we're going to the results. One round will be
- 11:29Speaker 1: kept in camera and you won't be able to check
- 11:32Speaker 1: it out yourself, so we will announce it here.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Do we get to please people with the major prize
- 11:36Speaker 4: right now? Yeah?
- 11:37Speaker 2: Reminder what a terrific idea? Yeah, you go, because I
- 11:40Speaker 2: don't know, I don't remember what.
- 11:41Speaker 3: It is to you.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Well, it's two tickets to our event on Grand Final
- 11:49Speaker 1: eve in Melbourne there, and it's a five hundred dollars
- 11:53Speaker 1: prepaid Visa card or master card or something to help
- 11:56Speaker 1: get you there because obviously a lot of people if
- 11:59Speaker 1: you've won and you wi to go to the Grand fine,
- 12:00Speaker 1: and you might have already bought your tickets and your
- 12:02Speaker 1: flights and the like. So it's a contribution to that,
- 12:05Speaker 1: some accommodation if you live outside of Melbourne. Some other
- 12:08Speaker 1: excellent prizes that we are bringing together, a two hundred
- 12:11Speaker 1: and fifty dollars valor voucher. But yeah, we had a
- 12:15Speaker 1: sensational time last year with the Vascinators when Lisa and Lauren,
- 12:18Speaker 1: our winners, came long to the event, and that event
- 12:22Speaker 1: on the Friday night, the Nodrible event is really shaping
- 12:26Speaker 1: up to be a lot of fun. I have many
- 12:28Speaker 1: surprises that you too don't even know about, so.
- 12:31Speaker 4: Kind of like it.
- 12:32Speaker 2: It's going to be very good. Ners.
- 12:34Speaker 1: We have one clear leader at the moment, and that
- 12:36Speaker 1: is off to the pub sitting on fifty three, clear
- 12:39Speaker 1: on fifty two, having only scored two in the last round,
- 12:43Speaker 1: but interestingly in second place on fifty Off to the
- 12:47Speaker 1: Pub's on fifty three, in second place on fifty two points.
- 12:50Speaker 1: We have four including a new entry into the podiums
- 12:54Speaker 1: at the moment, so the Mavericks Yeah, Center Stepping is
- 12:57Speaker 1: on fifty two, having scored five in that round, so
- 13:01Speaker 1: and only one point behind the outright leaders. We also
- 13:05Speaker 1: have Thundering all the Way, Firstborns and Jack v d,
- 13:08Speaker 1: all of whom we've talked about in the past. But
- 13:10Speaker 1: anything could happen this weekend. One of them could get six.
- 13:14Speaker 1: They could pick the margin. Remember that putting your tips
- 13:18Speaker 1: in early is an advantage if you get the same
- 13:22Speaker 1: score as someone else. So yeah, things are getting exciting. Obviously.
- 13:27Speaker 1: The only thing Catherine is interested in is the host
- 13:29Speaker 1: and Heroes Ladder though, and that's also getting interesting. We
- 13:33Speaker 1: have a clear leader there. It is Darryl the statsman Milton. Now,
- 13:38Speaker 1: I do think it's fair to say that his partner Donna,
- 13:41Speaker 1: although she's not in the Hosts and Heroes Ladder, is
- 13:43Speaker 1: ahead of him on the tipping.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Point. That suck at Darryl in second.
- 13:51Speaker 1: In second place, having scored three on the weekend is
- 13:54Speaker 1: Cox Rocks.
- 13:55Speaker 3: So yes, well done to you. Get off your Cox
- 13:59Speaker 3: Rocks Cox single. Yeah, that's what we se single, single, single, single.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Single, single single, ready to mingle in third place on
- 14:07Speaker 1: forty five Fascinators and then in fourth equal fourth place
- 14:12Speaker 1: G Train on forty four, G Train am on forty
- 14:16Speaker 1: four and Alexa YONEBLEBESTI who got three on the weekend
- 14:20Speaker 1: and so is pegging her way back up. Probably no
- 14:24Speaker 1: point discussing what my score is thirty four hen away
- 14:29Speaker 1: nearly twenty off the absolute ladder. So yeah, so that's exciting.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Don't forget to put your your tips in. Our tip
- 14:36Speaker 1: of the week is Allison for Harry, who is a
- 14:38Speaker 1: Vixen's fan who probably after the weekend is excited to
- 14:42Speaker 1: have fifty dollars to be able to spend on some
- 14:44Speaker 1: failgi too, because that was a disappointing weekend. Don't forget
- 14:48Speaker 1: to enter the Valor competition to win a sign Swift's
- 14:52Speaker 1: Giants or Thunderbirds dress for the Swift's Giants or Thunderbirds
- 14:56Speaker 1: fan in your life. Go on to their website and
- 14:58Speaker 1: write Swift's Fan, Giants fan or Ta Birds fan at
- 15:02Speaker 1: checkout and you can go into the price to win
- 15:04Speaker 1: that it's a sign dress plus some other merchandise. Better
- 15:08Speaker 1: that is the Valor Dribbler's Tipping Comp. Update for round thirty,
- 15:11Speaker 1: the penn ultimate round of the Tipping comp. This time
- 15:16Speaker 1: next week we will know who is joining us at
- 15:19Speaker 1: the event, which is.
- 15:20Speaker 4: Very drunk eight Hower already.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Sorry about forgetting to do that in Wednesday's episode. But
- 15:28Speaker 1: Netball Talk Covies we've got an exciting round ahead. We
- 15:32Speaker 1: get to see where the second preliminary.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Final will be held.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Well, it's a semi final.
- 15:39Speaker 1: A semi final this will be so we're going to
- 15:42Speaker 1: see whether that's in Melbourne or in Perth. But we
- 15:45Speaker 1: have the two teams. There are three teams who have
- 15:48Speaker 1: been relatively unscathed by injuries this season, Thunderbirds, Vixen's and lightning. Now,
- 15:55Speaker 1: obviously two of those teams are sitting at the top
- 15:57Speaker 1: of the ladder, so it's very helpful to not be
- 16:00Speaker 1: plagued by injuries. And pretty much every other team has
- 16:03Speaker 1: had what we're in the trade call a shit of
- 16:06Speaker 1: a time with injuries. You know, there have been most
- 16:09Speaker 1: of the teams have not been able to rely on
- 16:12Speaker 1: who they recruited as their first string. There is a
- 16:16Speaker 1: run of injuries in a team just bad luck or
- 16:21Speaker 1: is there something else to it? Is it more than
- 16:23Speaker 1: good luck if you don't have a run of injuries
- 16:25Speaker 1: in your team.
- 16:27Speaker 4: I think it depends vastly on the injury and how
- 16:30Speaker 4: it happened. Obviously, someone like a Helen Howsby who's got
- 16:34Speaker 4: a stress fracture that's overuse, and that is big, probably
- 16:38Speaker 4: because it was a massive domestic season, a huge international
- 16:42Speaker 4: season straight back into domestic season.
- 16:44Speaker 3: That's tough. But then you look at.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Grace White for instance, she landed on someone's foot, rolled
- 16:49Speaker 4: or ankle. I think Sarah Clow's got a quad injury.
- 16:54Speaker 4: I mean that could also be overused potentially, Otherwise it
- 16:57Speaker 4: could have just been a random knock. Lucky Henchley. I mean,
- 17:01Speaker 4: that's just bad luck. Isn't it doing an ACL or
- 17:04Speaker 4: something like that. So there's definitely things like stress fructures
- 17:08Speaker 4: definitely overuse.
- 17:10Speaker 1: So who should manage that then? So Helen works with
- 17:12Speaker 1: the Swifts, So just using someone who works with a
- 17:15Speaker 1: super Netball team and an international that is not Australian.
- 17:18Speaker 1: So I presume there's more streamlining if you are an
- 17:22Speaker 1: Australian player playing in sun Corp super Netbul who is
- 17:25Speaker 1: on a Diamonds squad pathway, I assume there's quite a
- 17:28Speaker 1: lot of communication there. But if you're an international and
- 17:32Speaker 1: you are playing in sun Corps Supernebul and you are
- 17:36Speaker 1: a starting player each week and then you play in internationals,
- 17:40Speaker 1: is that just on the player themselves to manage that?
- 17:44Speaker 2: How does that work?
- 17:45Speaker 4: Gordion would be the best person to speak to about
- 17:47Speaker 4: this stuff. I think and A definitely have relationships. But
- 17:51Speaker 4: I think the issue is, as you say, with the
- 17:53Speaker 4: Australian stuff, the Australian Diamonds and sun Corp Superneple, it
- 17:56Speaker 4: would be around the scheduling. The scheduling would allow for
- 17:59Speaker 4: more break pivotal moments. I don't think that necessarily is
- 18:03Speaker 4: the case with some of the other countries because they've
- 18:05Speaker 4: just got to get it in where they can, which
- 18:07Speaker 4: could mean they go straight from an international series when
- 18:11Speaker 4: a lot of the other teams are back doing their
- 18:13Speaker 4: pre season, their prehabs, they're all that sort of stuff,
- 18:17Speaker 4: and there's no rest. There might be a massive chunk
- 18:19Speaker 4: of rest and then none, but I think the Diamonds
- 18:22Speaker 4: would probably work it so they have a bit of rest,
- 18:25Speaker 4: they have an international, they have a bit of rest,
- 18:27Speaker 4: and then they go back into their domestic season. If
- 18:29Speaker 4: I'm getting that right, Les.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so. And I think that if you
- 18:34Speaker 3: go back to the injuries, if a team has a
- 18:36Speaker 3: run of injuries that are similar, I think that that's
- 18:39Speaker 3: when you go, Okay, there's something going on. So if
- 18:43Speaker 3: a team has a run of injuries of players doing
- 18:45Speaker 3: acls in training, then you go, okay, what's happening with
- 18:48Speaker 3: the court surface? Where are they training? What's going on?
- 18:51Speaker 3: If they have a run of soft tissue injuries, then
- 18:54Speaker 3: there's something in the prep, So you just I think
- 18:56Speaker 3: it's also sometimes a run of injuries is bad luck,
- 19:00Speaker 3: and if they're vastly different injuries, then there's not a pattern.
- 19:04Speaker 3: But if there's a if there's if it's clear that
- 19:06Speaker 3: you're getting soft tea chue injuries if you're.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Getting collaborated on that.
- 19:11Speaker 3: When you say a soft and soul injury, muscle, muscle tears,
- 19:15Speaker 3: half strain, yes, calf strains, but a calf strain that
- 19:19Speaker 3: might lead to an achilles injury. So if it's if
- 19:22Speaker 3: it's something that is that happens to two or three players,
- 19:26Speaker 3: then teams should be looking at things going okay, well
- 19:30Speaker 3: why has this happen? And sometimes it can be as
- 19:32Speaker 3: simple as as a personnel change for straight thing conditioning
- 19:36Speaker 3: and a different strength and conditioning program. And it might
- 19:38Speaker 3: not be that it's bad, it's just that it's different. Right,
- 19:40Speaker 3: So your body as an athlete gets used to certain
- 19:42Speaker 3: things and then you might be doing you might change
- 19:47Speaker 3: up your strengthening conditioning in an off season because there's
- 19:49Speaker 3: a new trainer and your body goes what and it
- 19:54Speaker 3: takes a while to get used to it. So and
- 19:57Speaker 3: you know, clubs, no doubt when they employ someone new
- 20:00Speaker 3: or change contracts in that department will go okay, well
- 20:04Speaker 3: here's the previous training program. Let's try and gradually move
- 20:07Speaker 3: to something different if you want to do that rather
- 20:09Speaker 3: than you know, one week it's one thing and the
- 20:11Speaker 3: next week it's another, or one season it's one thing,
- 20:13Speaker 3: it's the next season another. So I think the critical
- 20:16Speaker 3: thing to look for is patterns rather than a heap
- 20:19Speaker 3: of different injuries. But sometimes you have to dig a
- 20:22Speaker 3: bit deeper because you might get different injuries, but it
- 20:25Speaker 3: might come down to fatigue, right, so that when a
- 20:27Speaker 3: player is fatigued. And then the other thing we don't
- 20:29Speaker 3: often talk about but we should is menstrual. Where you
- 20:34Speaker 3: sit in that and so at different parts of your
- 20:36Speaker 3: cycle that affects your ligaments and how stretchy they are
- 20:40Speaker 3: and what's going on. So there's probably a lot more
- 20:43Speaker 3: research that needs to be done to female athletes generally,
- 20:46Speaker 3: not just netballers or certain clubs, about where you sit
- 20:49Speaker 3: in your menstrual cycle as seri as you. So when
- 20:52Speaker 3: I did my knee, I don't know if it was
- 20:54Speaker 3: like when I landed, I landed on like an advertising
- 20:57Speaker 3: sticker signing. Yeah, I landed on signage.
- 20:59Speaker 2: But slip is that what happened is there? Like it
- 21:03Speaker 2: was a group, wasn't it.
- 21:05Speaker 3: I think it was a grief. I don't really know.
- 21:07Speaker 3: I mean I disliked it was happened in New Zealand,
- 21:09Speaker 3: So I disliked to blame New Zealand.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Patrick would have caught it that out, wouldn't have happened, well,
- 21:14Speaker 1: Patrick's yeah.
- 21:14Speaker 3: But you know the thing is, though, like I'd done
- 21:16Speaker 3: that a million times, right, and something that you do
- 21:19Speaker 3: a million times, and I don't know because it was
- 21:21Speaker 3: three thousand years ago, like where was I my menstrual cycle?
- 21:24Speaker 3: And did that make a difference, right, because I had
- 21:27Speaker 3: never I had been really injury free and until that point, well.
- 21:31Speaker 4: Remember two or three years ago, there were three knees
- 21:34Speaker 4: done at the start of the season or throughout the season,
- 21:36Speaker 4: every single one of them in Adelaide, on the Adelaide
- 21:39Speaker 4: court and on the same side of the court.
- 21:41Speaker 2: It was quite bizarre, interesting, could.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Have been completely flooky. Probably was, But I mean it
- 21:48Speaker 4: just looks funny, doesn't it, Like what's going on on
- 21:50Speaker 4: this court?
- 21:51Speaker 2: And I imagine then.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Or the Thunderbirds organization would have gone, well, let's look
- 21:57Speaker 1: at this. I mean, surely there'd be systems in place
- 21:59Speaker 1: to have to look at something like that.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Yeah, but look, and when you look at like you
- 22:03Speaker 3: said at the side of this chat, the two teams
- 22:06Speaker 3: at the top of the ladder, have not been hit
- 22:10Speaker 3: with injuries Andiowa. Is that because they're doing something different
- 22:14Speaker 3: so they don't get injuries, or are that the top
- 22:16Speaker 3: of the ladder because they have it had injuries. The
- 22:18Speaker 3: flip side is the Mavericks who had a significant injury
- 22:21Speaker 3: to one of their senior players, but they had like
- 22:25Speaker 3: already made superstar to come in and take her place,
- 22:27Speaker 3: and that's good list management, not like correct Fever.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Actually, I think have probably like obviously the Swifts of
- 22:36Speaker 1: I think had the most injuries to keep players this season,
- 22:40Speaker 1: but Fever it wasn't injuries so much, but Janielle was
- 22:43Speaker 1: pregnant and so they had to bring Ramelda in.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 22:46Speaker 1: But then they've just had a run of illness, I think,
- 22:49Speaker 1: haven't they so like constantly having to rotate players not
- 22:52Speaker 1: because of injury, so much is because of illness.
- 22:54Speaker 4: And again that can be being on planes for ten
- 22:58Speaker 4: hours to get to and from a game, you know,
- 23:00Speaker 4: and that bugs in the air and all of that
- 23:03Speaker 4: sort of stuff. That's tough.
- 23:04Speaker 3: They might have to update their hand washing protocols and
- 23:07Speaker 3: wear masks.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Very interesting, good chat. So one two things I didn't
- 23:13Speaker 1: talk about about the weekend just gone. Jody Anne Ward sensational,
- 23:17Speaker 1: age Hadley sensational. I really was hoping that Paige might
- 23:22Speaker 1: have been doing a little sort of middle finger up
- 23:26Speaker 1: to whatever happened with this Diamond squad. And I won't
- 23:29Speaker 1: ask either of you to comment on that, but you
- 23:31Speaker 1: know my thoughts.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Can we just one thing that I have to point
- 23:34Speaker 4: out from the weekend, Jody an Ward's first block of
- 23:37Speaker 4: the season was on Ramelda Aiken George nineteen sent meters
- 23:41Speaker 4: difference in height.
- 23:43Speaker 3: It was unbelievable.
- 23:44Speaker 1: And you just go with you said, I think it
- 23:47Speaker 1: was in the third quarter. You said, Jody Anne Ward
- 23:49Speaker 1: is making an absolute pest of herself.
- 23:52Speaker 2: And she just was.
- 23:53Speaker 1: She was like a mosquito through the whole game. Anytime
- 23:56Speaker 1: they tried to get that ball into Ramelder. Jody Aneward
- 23:59Speaker 1: came from nowhere, jumped higher than any human being should
- 24:03Speaker 1: be able to jump.
- 24:04Speaker 4: It was great more to skill though from three feet
- 24:06Speaker 4: away someone that's just shy of twenty centimeters taller than you.
- 24:09Speaker 2: She's a freak. So look out because maybe I can
- 24:12Speaker 2: jump that high.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Maybe with a little your pest, so well, I pride
- 24:20Speaker 4: myself on it.
- 24:21Speaker 1: All right, We're going to take a quick break and
- 24:22Speaker 1: then we're going to come back and talk about something
- 24:26Speaker 1: I don't know what. All right, we are back and
- 24:41Speaker 1: this is our final little bracket for this week. We
- 24:44Speaker 1: are coming up to round fourteen. This is the last
- 24:47Speaker 1: week of the regular season.
- 24:50Speaker 2: You believe, I'm sad. It makes me sad. Oh I
- 24:53Speaker 2: hate it.
- 24:54Speaker 1: When super Netball's over. I don't know, unpopular opinion. I
- 24:58Speaker 1: like supernetball more than I like test. I like the
- 25:00Speaker 1: season better because I can get into it for longer.
- 25:03Speaker 1: There's more things that I'm interested in.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Yeah, touching, Yeah.
- 25:06Speaker 4: I mean it's all good. But let's chat the two
- 25:09Speaker 4: important games that are coming up this weekend. I mean
- 25:12Speaker 4: great games. I think all the clubs that are not
- 25:14Speaker 4: in would want to finish on a high note. Particularly
- 25:16Speaker 4: the Giants haven't had a win yet. It's in a derby.
- 25:18Speaker 4: What a great time to do it. But the MAVs
- 25:22Speaker 4: Firebirds game, that'll be the first one. That's Saturday at
- 25:25Speaker 4: seven o'clock. It's at John cain Arenas, and the MAVs
- 25:27Speaker 4: have home court advantage. They need that win. And if
- 25:31Speaker 4: they can get that win, and even if a couple
- 25:34Speaker 4: of goals better, you know they're in a really good position.
- 25:38Speaker 4: To host that minus semi final of the following week.
- 25:40Speaker 4: Then the good thing is for the West Coast Fever,
- 25:42Speaker 4: they know exactly what their target is. The following day
- 25:46Speaker 4: at two o'clock on the Sunday they play the Vixen's
- 25:49Speaker 4: also in Melbourne, so they're on the road again, which
- 25:51Speaker 4: is tough, ah, but they will know exactly what they
- 25:54Speaker 4: need to do. If the MAVs get the win, they
- 25:56Speaker 4: know they've got to get the win, and they'll know
- 25:57Speaker 4: the margin they need to get it by.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 26:00Speaker 1: So for instance, had they beaten the Giants by more
- 26:02Speaker 1: than six.
- 26:03Speaker 4: Goals, yes they would be back in third.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Days they would have been right, okay, ye ye, So.
- 26:08Speaker 4: It'll be interesting.
- 26:09Speaker 3: So can we just have a look at round seven?
- 26:12Speaker 3: MAVs beat Firebirds by one in Brisbane. That's a good point,
- 26:16Speaker 3: I said, I reckon, that'll be a cracking match. Yeah.
- 26:18Speaker 3: I'm actually just sitting here going, well, I go with
- 26:21Speaker 3: smoky margarita or a glass of Roseia style.
- 26:24Speaker 4: Well, it's important choices.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Well, they're viewing there's four quarters liszt. So you know,
- 26:29Speaker 1: don't him it yourself. Because the Firebirds did have a
- 26:33Speaker 1: great game on the weekend didn't they like Maddi Gordon
- 26:36Speaker 1: was sensational on that.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Can I just do a shout out to all the
- 26:40Speaker 4: Kiwis because I was pretty critical at the start of
- 26:43Speaker 4: the season about them not being good enough to be
- 26:46Speaker 4: in this league. Maddie Gordon, Kelly Jackson and Tapia Selby
- 26:51Speaker 4: Rickett were the top three net points. So they're three
- 26:54Speaker 4: international New Zealand recruits. Had their best game of the
- 26:58Speaker 4: season altogether, Soonest brought her best on the she did.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Absolutely yep, yep, no good on them.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Well, nice nice, nice words from a Kiwi to a Kiwi.
- 27:09Speaker 2: There, Catherine, just that one, just that one time.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Yeah, if I do that again, feel free to reach
- 27:17Speaker 4: through the laptop and slap me Elizabeth.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Oh I will, I will. And then in round seven
- 27:22Speaker 3: in the same match or same so the corresponding round,
- 27:27Speaker 3: West Coast and Melboyn Vixen's played in Perth and Melbourne
- 27:30Speaker 3: got up by six. So and the good thing about
- 27:34Speaker 3: the MAVs and the West Coast fever if they well,
- 27:37Speaker 3: they will meet the minus semit.
- 27:38Speaker 4: They have won a game each this year, which means.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Look so anyway, So I don't know what you make it.
- 27:48Speaker 3: That isn't we're going to have some cracking games in netball.
- 27:51Speaker 3: Then the other two games that really don't have a
- 27:53Speaker 3: bearing on the ladder. The Thunderbirds in round seven beat
- 27:56Speaker 3: Lightning by one, and the Swifts pumped the Giant by thirteen.
- 28:01Speaker 3: I think we'll still get a cracking game between the
- 28:02Speaker 3: Thunderbirds of the Lightning because the Lightning will be abut
- 28:04Speaker 3: to just someone you know finish off. Yeah. Well, and
- 28:09Speaker 3: then I think the Swifts and the Giants is going
- 28:11Speaker 3: to be a close game.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I do too, and this is as you know, I
- 28:15Speaker 1: am a member of both clubs, and I love the
- 28:19Speaker 1: Swifts game on the weekend filled my heart with so
- 28:23Speaker 1: much pride and admiration and joy that I am hoping
- 28:29Speaker 1: that the Giants will win this weekend because I feel
- 28:32Speaker 1: like the I feel like that would be just I
- 28:35Speaker 1: feel like the Giants deserve a win. It was great
- 28:37Speaker 1: to see Sophie get Player of the Match and not
- 28:41Speaker 1: be on the winning side.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I thought that that was amazing.
- 28:44Speaker 1: So it's hard for me to say I'm wouldn't mind
- 28:49Speaker 1: if the Swift's lost this week, but it's like, I
- 28:52Speaker 1: just think the Giants so deserve a win and the
- 28:55Speaker 1: Swifts can very much hold their heads up high after
- 28:58Speaker 1: that last after a season of adversity, and that last
- 29:02Speaker 1: game last week against the thunderbirt So I wouldn't mind
- 29:05Speaker 1: seeing them go down this week if it has to
- 29:07Speaker 1: be against the Giant.
- 29:08Speaker 4: And I hope that Amy Sliger is back to play,
- 29:11Speaker 4: and also Grace Waite.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Your Grace White and so and both of those at
- 29:15Speaker 1: this stage being Tuesday, are apparently a possibility. We don't
- 29:19Speaker 1: have any further information on that, but yeah, we would
- 29:22Speaker 1: very much love.
- 29:22Speaker 3: To see that.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Actually, that would have made me a little bit sad
- 29:25Speaker 1: Raymy Sliger had they had their one win of the
- 29:27Speaker 1: season last week when she wasn't there, because she bloody
- 29:29Speaker 1: deserves to have a win. Yes, right, very good, Well,
- 29:34Speaker 1: thank you. That was a really great chat about the injuries.
- 29:38Speaker 2: I particularly like that.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Isn't it interesting that for millennia the medical community has
- 29:44Speaker 1: said women are just like small versions of men. We
- 29:47Speaker 1: only need to study men for medicine to tell us
- 29:50Speaker 1: what we need to know. And it's like, my god,
- 29:52Speaker 1: we've got a long way to catch up on this study.
- 29:55Speaker 2: So what Wow, why are you looking at me like that?
- 29:58Speaker 4: That's just start, isn't it.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 30:01Speaker 1: But it's not my decision bringing out the messed up now?
- 30:06Speaker 1: Did you like how Liz was trying to be Darryl
- 30:08Speaker 1: Milton in this episode though, how she was going to
- 30:10Speaker 1: here's what happened last time?
- 30:12Speaker 2: I love it.
- 30:13Speaker 3: I do love Status. It's the one thing I do
- 30:15Speaker 3: miss about not commentating is not being able to see
- 30:17Speaker 3: the stats. You can still love the status trains.
- 30:20Speaker 4: I'll share the link with you if you want.
- 30:22Speaker 3: That'd be great. I'd love to the champion, Dardaling. Yeah,
- 30:25Speaker 3: I want to last body around. You're going to give
- 30:27Speaker 3: me the link?
- 30:28Speaker 4: Yeah? Well you should have voiced this a little earlier.
- 30:31Speaker 3: I love the stats. I mean, I'm not like Darryl,
- 30:34Speaker 3: but I still like the stats. I think they tell
- 30:37Speaker 3: a good story.
- 30:38Speaker 1: That's a happy ending to the episode, is, isn't it. Yeah,
- 30:41Speaker 1: I'm just going to do a vargorable recommends. On the
- 30:44Speaker 1: weekend for my daughter's thirty thirteenth birthday, we went to
- 30:47Speaker 1: the Bob Hawk Beer and Leisure Center in Marrickville in Sydney.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Have you been there?
- 30:52Speaker 4: No?
- 30:52Speaker 1: Okay, so they make beer, and these two guys approached
- 30:55Speaker 1: Bob Hawk when Bob Hawk was still alive and said,
- 30:57Speaker 1: we want to make some beer and use your image.
- 30:59Speaker 1: And Bob Hawk said, okay, so they've got the whole
- 31:04Speaker 1: place is set up. It's great. It's like going to
- 31:07Speaker 1: a fun museum. The restaurant in there is called the
- 31:10Speaker 1: Lucky Prawn Chinese Restaurant, and it's like the restaurant in
- 31:13Speaker 1: Muriel's wedding. And then in the pool room they've got
- 31:18Speaker 1: all of this Bob Hawk memorabilia. It's just it's just fascinating.
- 31:22Speaker 1: And then on Saturday, the Sunday, the first Sunday of
- 31:25Speaker 1: every month, they have jam Cha and there was a
- 31:27Speaker 1: drag queen there named Jackie Daniels who was entertaining us
- 31:30Speaker 1: all chambers. But Jackie was wonderful. I told a joke
- 31:38Speaker 1: and got a free tea towel.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Good what the joke? Sure?
- 31:43Speaker 2: No, yes, no, cam No, can't not doing it.
- 31:47Speaker 1: The other people telling jokes with children, It's like, come on,
- 31:51Speaker 1: I want you to share because I don't want the
- 31:53Speaker 1: dripplers to hear this joke. It was all right in
- 31:55Speaker 1: a pum yeah, but it's not time.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Even this goes. Sometimes you go and do those things
- 32:01Speaker 3: and you have to be amated. Did you disguise it?
- 32:03Speaker 3: You're professionally funny, like should barge you from winning something?
- 32:06Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true. I wanted the team please, like it'd
- 32:10Speaker 4: be like me back in the heyday, rocking up to
- 32:13Speaker 4: a shooting competition and not saying anything about anything.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Illegal, still playing goalkeeper when she takes to the court.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Yes, I don't pretend that I'm not funny.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I would have said that I'm a stand up comedian.
- 32:28Speaker 2: What do you do for a living?
- 32:29Speaker 4: I'm desperate to hear? Can we do a Grand Final?
- 32:31Speaker 4: Leave doubt?
- 32:32Speaker 2: It's not?
- 32:32Speaker 3: Yes? At the function, nobody can you do it?
- 32:35Speaker 4: You want a t I must have been good.
- 32:36Speaker 2: No, No, everyone who told a joke got it?
- 32:39Speaker 3: She left?
- 32:41Speaker 2: No, No, it was just a participation.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Was a participation?
- 32:45Speaker 2: Twyes?
- 32:48Speaker 3: Was an excellence tee tower. Can I just tell you
- 32:51Speaker 3: a funny story about Bob Hawk. So I used to
- 32:54Speaker 3: go to the Jack Newton Golf Tournament and it was fabulous.
- 32:58Speaker 3: I don't go anymore because children, and it was such
- 33:01Speaker 3: a great weekend, and it raises money for both the
- 33:03Speaker 3: Jack Knet and Junior Golf Foundation and Junior Diabetes. So
- 33:05Speaker 3: it's great, little debaucherous. But every year Bob Hawk used
- 33:10Speaker 3: to turn up and it was so it was amazing
- 33:13Speaker 3: to sit there and he would get up and he
- 33:15Speaker 3: would sing Wartzing Matilda. Oh my god, my god, so iconic.
- 33:19Speaker 3: But I would sit there and go Only in Australia
- 33:22Speaker 3: would an ex prime minister turn up sink beers and
- 33:25Speaker 3: sing Wartzing Matilda. And just then he would just because
- 33:29Speaker 3: he was great mates with Jack, like they would, he
- 33:31Speaker 3: would just sit and just be like a bloke and
- 33:34Speaker 3: just chat to everyone. And it was always really heaps
- 33:36Speaker 3: to find it. Just so you know it's at the
- 33:38Speaker 3: Hunter Valley now and it used to be Catherine.
- 33:40Speaker 4: You went, oh yeah, I never.
- 33:44Speaker 3: But how it was just so amazing that this man,
- 33:47Speaker 3: who was, you know, such an extraordinary popular prime minister
- 33:51Speaker 3: then in his later years, would just turn up to
- 33:54Speaker 3: this function and he would ling.
- 33:56Speaker 4: In a while we would power it off and see
- 33:59Speaker 4: John Howard the kitchen window because he used to live
- 34:01Speaker 4: near me and would just be walking out going for
- 34:03Speaker 4: his walk with his Australian Cricket uniform. It's a way
- 34:08Speaker 4: to make yourself look quite obvious, though, isn't it.
- 34:10Speaker 1: I saw Julia Gillard pop down to Kingston one morning
- 34:12Speaker 1: when I lived in Canberra to go and get her
- 34:14Speaker 1: own bread and it's like there's no massive security detail.
- 34:18Speaker 1: And I think that's a real luxury of living in
- 34:20Speaker 1: this country that we can actually just have our leaders
- 34:24Speaker 1: be accessible. But Bob Hawk is a is a character
- 34:27Speaker 1: we'll probably never see the likes of again. And you know,
- 34:30Speaker 1: whatever you think of his politics, you have to acknowledge
- 34:33Speaker 1: that that is a character, a personality of Australian politics.
- 34:37Speaker 1: But anyway, I highly recommend this place. They have deep
- 34:39Speaker 1: fried viennetta too deep ice cream, not just dice in
- 34:47Speaker 1: like a golden gay time crub.
- 34:49Speaker 2: It's about to dribble really good.
- 34:51Speaker 3: This is no dribble.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Wow, this place sounds fantastic.
- 34:57Speaker 3: That can I give a shout out speaking of of
- 35:00Speaker 3: great places. Like I said in the first episode this week,
- 35:04Speaker 3: I had spent most of the week at Panthers because
- 35:06Speaker 3: the restaurants there were great. But I had dinner with
- 35:10Speaker 3: Ali Broadbent, former Swift Steamond's Gold Defense on Saturday night
- 35:15Speaker 3: and we walked out of the restaurant into this bar
- 35:20Speaker 3: area and we looked up and there was a netbuls
- 35:23Speaker 3: It was lightning and firebirds. So, as we always say,
- 35:27Speaker 3: any bar that has a netball on will give them
- 35:28Speaker 3: a shout out. It was a terrace bar I think
- 35:31Speaker 3: at Panthers, so well done to them.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Fantastic. Yeah, we had dribblers.
- 35:34Speaker 1: One of the dribblers put up on the Facebook group
- 35:36Speaker 1: on the weekend to take away food shop in Sunshine
- 35:38Speaker 1: Coast that had that netball on and it's like share
- 35:40Speaker 1: the love. If you're seeing businesses that are showing our sport,
- 35:44Speaker 1: we should all be getting behind them.
- 35:45Speaker 4: And if they're not, shame them. Everyone shame or just
- 35:50Speaker 4: get the channel change. It's probably more anyway. So that's
- 35:53Speaker 4: the end of our Friday episode.
- 35:55Speaker 1: This is the last week of me reminding you to
- 35:57Speaker 1: get your tips in for the Valor Dribbler's HIPing comp.
- 36:00Speaker 1: This is round fourteen, the final round, and you won't
- 36:04Speaker 1: see the results on the weekend.
- 36:05Speaker 2: We're keeping them secret. They will be announced in this
- 36:08Speaker 2: episode next week.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Get your tickets to our Grand Final Eve event. They
- 36:12Speaker 1: are selling fast so we will sell out for that.
- 36:16Speaker 1: But have great wheat Dribblers. I'm Caroline Spint.
- 36:19Speaker 4: I'm cafcocks Tootles everybody, I'm the zellous ah Hie.
- 36:27Speaker 1: I reckon we should try to invent a perky Nana cocktail.
- 36:31Speaker 4: Oh that is a great idea to that when you
- 36:34Speaker 4: don't like them.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Well, I don't necessarily think I'll be drinking it, but
- 36:38Speaker 1: I thought that if I got you a couple of
- 36:40Speaker 1: perky Nana cocktails, you might be a bit fun.
- 36:43Speaker 4: As opposed to my winning charm every other day, and you.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Might not be single with a few perky Narnas. I've
- 36:50Speaker 3: already got a couple of. There we go, let's change
- 36:53Speaker 3: the Google algorithm. You're in your fifties anymore scaffolding.
- 36:57Speaker 4: I've got the saggy Nanas six
