  Speaker 1: to have an effective change on UH. I always incorporate

  Speaker 1: a spiritual element in all of my talks with the

  Speaker 1: young men. I found that there are quite a few

  Speaker 1: young men who have church backgrounds, and you know, so

  Speaker 1: it always has an interesting twist to it. And then

  Speaker 1: there are some who have no idea what I'm talking about,

  Speaker 1: and I have to fix the verbiage to fit somebody
• 0:44
  Speaker 1: who doesn't understand I'm saying that to say all this

  Speaker 1: that I will always always continue the spiritual component to
• 0:52
  Speaker 1: my camp because I look back over my life, I
• 0:54
  Speaker 1: don't know how I would have made it without a

  Speaker 1: relationship with God. I really, I really really don't. I

  Speaker 1: don't know how I could have overcome the things I've

  Speaker 1: overcome without God's presence. You know, man, I'm so grateful

  Speaker 1: to have come to the point to understand that it

  Speaker 1: ain't really me. Now, let me give myself a little

  Speaker 1: bit of credit. Did I work hard? Yes? I did.

  Speaker 1: Did I never give up? I did? My best? Did

  Speaker 1: I give it my all? I dodne have my foot

  Speaker 1: to the gas pedal to the floor for a long

  Speaker 1: time now? Have I been in relentless pursuit of my

  Speaker 1: dreams and aspirations? Yes? I have. Did I grit my

  Speaker 1: teeth when it was necessary? Did I put my fist

  Speaker 1: in the lower back and being at the knee and

  Speaker 1: take the brace's position and just hand it? Yeah? Have

  Speaker 1: I survived all my haters and they say ers? Yes?

  Speaker 1: Did I stay the course when I was offered directions

  Speaker 1: to go on another way? Yes I did. I did

  Speaker 1: all of that. But none of that, None of that

  Speaker 1: would have been possible without my relationship, without without with God,

  Speaker 1: without God tucking me under his wings and protecting me. Man,

  Speaker 1: when I needed It's so bad when I didn't have

  Speaker 1: nobody to call, when nobody really knew what I was

  Speaker 1: going through. God was there when I had turned my

  Speaker 1: back on God. God never turned his back on me

  Speaker 1: when I walked the other way. God just stayed close

  Speaker 1: by because he just kept trying to get my attention,

  Speaker 1: because He had a plan and a purpose for me.

  Speaker 1: Have you ever felt that way, y'all? Have you ever

  Speaker 1: felt like man? It's got to be more to my
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: life than this. Have you ever thought for a moment, man,
• 2:45
  Speaker 1: that there's got to be more to my life than
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: what's going on. If you're having that thought, that's caused.

  Speaker 1: It's what it is. And God is touching you. He's
• 2:56
  Speaker 1: tapping you on your shoulder, he's whispering in your ear,

  Speaker 1: giving you a gentle nudge. He's always there as a reminder. Man,

  Speaker 1: I've turned my back on God so many times and
• 3:08
  Speaker 1: walked the other way. He just said, all right, okay,
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: I need your attention, though, Steve, I need your undivided attention.

  Speaker 1: And because he gives us the power of choice, and
• 3:20
  Speaker 1: some of the decisions I was making got me in
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: a position. Or guess what, he had my undivided attention.

  Speaker 1: I'll tell you what, Man, when I was living in
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: that car for all in years, he had my attention. Then,

  Speaker 1: Oh he got it full blown. He got it. You

  Speaker 1: remember that time he stricken you and you had that

  Speaker 1: You remember when you had that health scare. He had
• 3:41
  Speaker 1: your attention then, didn't he didn't He remember when you

  Speaker 1: lost somebody that was real deal to you. He got
• 3:50
  Speaker 1: your attention, didn't he didn't He? You remember that time

  Speaker 1: you thought you weren't gonna make it. You ain't have

  Speaker 1: no answers, You ain't know what to do. He had

  Speaker 1: your attention, didn't he didn't. He remember when you made

  Speaker 1: that right turn and he told you go left, and

  Speaker 1: you made that right turn anyway, He got your attention,

  Speaker 1: didn't he didn't? He? See? You know what I'm saying

  Speaker 1: in all of this, We've always had a choice. We
• 4:19
  Speaker 1: are the only creatures that God gave the power of
• 4:22
  Speaker 1: decision too. We get to decide all day long. We
• 4:26
  Speaker 1: get to decide. But by God's grace and mercy, even
• 4:32
  Speaker 1: when you make the bad decision, He always did always
• 4:38
  Speaker 1: get you, man. And you know why it gets you
• 4:41
  Speaker 1: because his love is uncompromising. His love for you don't
• 4:46
  Speaker 1: come with conditions. He loves you in spite of your mistakes.

  Speaker 1: He loves you because He created you, and He has
• 4:53
  Speaker 1: a plan for you and as a plan for you
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: to prosper you. He just trying to get your attention, man,
• 4:58
  Speaker 1: so you can do some of the stuff he wants

  Speaker 1: you to to do. I tell you something, man, I've

  Speaker 1: learned some major lessons in my life. And one of

  Speaker 1: the reasons, man, I was just running from God I

  Speaker 1: was just running from God because I felt like it

  Speaker 1: was so much I wanted to do, so much I

  Speaker 1: wanted to be and if I go over there become

  Speaker 1: a Christian and honor God, I'm not gonna be able

  Speaker 1: to do it. And I read something one day that

  Speaker 1: struck me. It said, becoming who God created you to
• 5:27
  Speaker 1: be will cost you who you thought you were. And
• 5:35
  Speaker 1: that's what I was afraid of. Becoming who God created
• 5:40
  Speaker 1: you to be will cost you who you thought you were.

  Speaker 1: But it's worth it. Man. Everything I wanted to do
• 5:50
  Speaker 1: and and and and and and and and do and

  Speaker 1: and become was nothing compared to what God was working

  Speaker 1: on for me. God been working on on us for

  Speaker 1: a long time. Man, show would be nice to give

  Speaker 1: him your undivided attention before it's too late. Give God

  Speaker 1: your attention. Man, he got a good plan for you,

  Speaker 1: and I got news for you. It's way better than

  Speaker 1: the one you got. It took me a long time

  Speaker 1: to figure that out, but I'm sure glad I did.
