- Josh DeMage: Welcome back, Triple Sports Talks. I'm Josh. There's Bryce and there is Roy. That's gonna be my new thing right there. This. pod 152. 48 away from 200. Just letting you know, Roy. let's go right into we had week four, already a month into football season. Kind of crazy to say that. we Roy Clapp: Thank you. Josh DeMage: started off on Thursday night football, where Bryce cheated. Browns think Brice: I did not cheat. I sent a message right at the start of this game and said, I want you guys to know I put my picks in and I didn't cheat. I picked the Browns to win this game. Josh DeMage: Yeah. He he sent it right at the start of the game when it was fourteen up in Cleveland. I'm just kidding. Brice: I put it in at nine AM that morning. Josh DeMage: Cleveland take care of Pittsburgh at home in Cleveland 27-24. Was really a good game if you got to watch it. I got to watch most of it. I enjoyed it. then we started over in London early Sunday morning. I was actually up for this because my dog woke me up. And this was not a good game. Commanders lose to the Colts 30-13. Then we take it to Sunday afternoon. Cowboys won a back and forth shootout in the Battle of Texas. Cowboys beat the Texans 34-30. Roy Clapp: Okay. Josh DeMage: Bears take care of the Jets with their third quarterback in three games. but Casey Keatum did start. Fun fact. Bears win 23-12 over the Jets. Patriots go into the new Buffalo Bills Stadium and beat them 29-26. Jaguars go to Cincinnati. Jamar Chase leaves with a concussion. Jaguars get out of there with a win 22-17. Giants host the Cardinals and Roy Clapp: Okay. Josh DeMage: Game down came down to last play. Scores elevated. It was a pick six to end the game. It w Cardinals run the ball at like four yard line, chance to win it. One play, two seconds. Thirty six twenty Brice: Ninety nine yard pick six. Josh DeMage: four. Giants win. Ravens take care of the Titans. Close game. Lamar leaves with injury. doesn't look like he'll be ready for a few weeks. Twenty four to eighteen Ravens. What? Brice: No. They he basically could have came back in is what I read, and that they were already up, so he didn't come back in. He's listed as day to day now. Roy Clapp: I just read today that he's missing this week. Josh DeMage: I I also read he Brice: really? Josh DeMage: was expected to be week to week, but either way, I mean not a not a super long term injury. So yeah. Roy Clapp: Nah, just a brand ankle. Josh DeMage: next one, Rams, 14 point comeback with thr under three minutes to go in Philly. Rams take care of the Eagles twenty four to twenty. Packers go into Tampa Bay and win an ugly one. Seventeen to fourteen. no Baker Mayfield in that game as well. Vikings take care of the Dolphins at home. I believe five field goals, if I'm not mistaken. I'd have to go back and look. 15 10, Vikings win. Battle of the Three and O's. This one was a really good game, and I did not expect it. Raiders and the Chiefs in Vegas. Chiefs come back come back. They win the game. Thirty to twenty seven. Forty Niners take care of the Broncos 24 14. Kind of an ugly showing from Denver. Roy Clapp: Okay. Josh DeMage: Seahawks take care of the Chargers 30 to 23. And then Sunday night football. I don't know if you guys got to watch this game. This was a great game as well. Panthers beat the Lions at home 32 to 26. Tetra McMillan night. And then last night, Falcons seem to have figured their shit out after the quarterback situation. Pennocks and the Falcons go into New Orleans and win forty-five to twenty-four. Five rushing touchdowns for the Falcons. Thoughts, concerns, anything you guys want to talk about this week? Before we get to our picks and stuff. Roy Clapp: Just more injuries. mean, Saquon Lamar. The Broncos defense had three guys go down. Just more injuries. You said Jamar Chase, T. Higgins. Josh DeMage: Barkley. Yeah. Roy Clapp: mean, just a lot more injuries. Everybody's just, I was just crazy. That's just piling up, piling up. And DJ Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: Moore is gonna be out, like, for Brice: Is that what we're doing? Roy Clapp: more weeks. Gosh, it's just, yeah, you said to commanders, they're on their third quarterback now. The Buccaneers are on their third quarterback or rookie. So Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: it's just, it's, it's just crazy. Josh DeMage: Brace, you got anything? Brice: Yeah, I'll I'll mention our standings for this week before I go into mine. Josh with eleven and five in last, Roy with twelve and four, and me winning again with thirteen and three. I said that first because the two games that really set me apart was the Panthers and Browns. And I think you guys are way too down on both of those teams. I think those teams are both eight to nine win teams this year. Panthers and Browns both I think could win their divisions. I I know the Browns looked like one of the worst teams coming into the league, but that's one team I want Roy Clapp: Yeah. Brice: to talk about because Deshaun Watson is not he's not the same quarterback he was at Texas, obviously. But he's not turning the ball over now. And with a defense that good, him not turning over the ball is gonna make them win games. Cause that defense is going to keep them in every single game and he just has to do the bare minimum for them to win games. Roy Clapp: Well, the Browns' schedule Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: has not been too tough either. the Buck... Yeah. Brice: Well, that's what happens whenever you've been one of the worst teams in league for years. Roy Clapp: The only good team they played was the Jags and they got beat, so... Brice: Have you seen their schedule though? Roy Clapp: I mean, they got the Ravens coming up. I'm looking at it right now. I mean, yeah, it's not very tough. They got, I mean, they got some tough teams. I think the Binkles will be tough for them, but. Josh DeMage: The the issue I have with the Browns, which I don't I I don't think they're god awful. They're better than what I expected. Kinda give me vibes of one of those teams that, you know, if if they can run the ball and they can work from a head or close tie game. Yeah, they can hang in those games, you know, run, pass, they got a Munkin' coming over, likes to run the ball coming from the den or coming from the Baltimore world. he's got a good running back in Judkins. Watkins isn't, or yeah, Deshaun's not just sitting in shotgun every night or every play, just taking snaps, throwing the ball. I get I worried about, you know, when they play a Ravens or someone and they, you they get down 14-0 in late first, early second, and they got, you know, they gotta throw the ball a little bit more. They don't really have the weapons on the outside. They have two rookies, really, Roy Clapp: you Josh DeMage: Boston and Concepcion. Good young players, but you know, these guys aren't true difference makers yet. Watson, I mean, I don't know if you watched did you watch the game on Thursday night, Bryce? I just this one play I cannot get out of my head. Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: He's rolling left, wide open receiver, and he throws it seven yards to the right of him. You know what play I'm talking about? Just things like that. It's just, you know, he'll have a couple good throws and then he'll have something like that, and you're just like, good. Roy Clapp: Okay. Okay. Brice: Yeah. Yeah, but I mean he's had two ACL surgeries. He's not gonna be a throw on the run quarterback anymore like he was Josh DeMage: I mean, I agree. So, I mean, do I think the Browns are awful? No, they're better than what I expected, but do I think this team's gonna win more than, you know, seven or maybe eight? Roy Clapp: Okay. Josh DeMage: No, I don't. I don't think that's good enough to win their division, personally. I think somebody will probably get the double Roy Clapp: you Josh DeMage: digits, but you never know. That division always is a crapshoot sometimes. but the Panthers, on the other hand, I don't think I'm discrediting the Panthers. I just didn't think the Lions defense would play as bad. I mean, let's be real. We this Panthers team has played well defensively for the most part over Brice: my gosh. Josh DeMage: the year and a quarter at this point. Roy Clapp: And their offense sucked last week. Josh DeMage: And, you know, I'm not saying this offense is great. I mean they look good against Lions. Lions defense has been very disappointing. They a couple secondary players out. But Brice: I don't know if you saw the play. They had a play this week where they were in man coverage and they had Aiden Hutchinson lined up in man coverage on a slot receiver. Like, I don't know what Josh DeMage: Yeah. I mean Brice: that coach is doing, but that is just some of the stupidest shit I've ever seen. Josh DeMage: Yeah. But I th I mean I I just think the Panthers maybe this game was a little bit of an outlier 'cause they really move the ball well. They can get into that funk of sometimes not and let's be real, they were, I mean, one possession away from losing that game. If Lions get the ball and score a touchdown, the extra point wins it for So Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: but I think it is good for the Panthers. You know, that's a good Lions team. I'm not saying they're great. They're not as good as they were a few years ago, but still a good win, especially in prime time on Sunday night. so good for them. I did not want to talk really about a game. I kind of wanted it. We have not gone over any NFL standings. I just want to rip through it, get some of your division leaders, things like that. And I'm going to speed roll through. We don't have to talk about it. I just kind of want to inform people. Bills lead the AFC East 3-1. Patriots 1 back 2-2. Jets 1-3. Dolphins 0-4. AFC North, Browns and Ravens both tied at one for first. 3-1. Steelers and Bengals are both one back, 2-2. AFC South, Jaguars on the division. 3-1. Colts one behind 2-2. Titans and Texans 0-4. AFC West, Chiefs lead at 4-0. One back of the Raiders game they just played. 3-1. Broncos are 2-2. Chargers ugly start and four. NFC side Giants lead the NFC East three and one. Eagles and Cowboys both game back two and two and commanders one and three at the bottom. Vikings lead the NFC North four and Team they beat in second. Bears three and one. Lions and Packers both two and two. NFC South, the Panthers and Falcons are both tied. I don't know if they've played each other and that's why they're on top. I don't remember. Roy Clapp: Okay. Josh DeMage: Panthers are o on top on mine. Two and two. Saints one and three. And Buccaneers and four. And then Out West in the NFC. Niners four and Seahawks three and one. Rams two and two. Cardinals one and three. That's what we got. All right. Roy Clapp: Okay. Brice: Yeah, just a quick mention, the Vikings being four and I don't know if you guys saw this stat, but the last team to have like three wins out of their first four without a touchdown was like nineteen twenty six Chicago Cardinals. So I that team is winning games cra their defense is unbelievable, I'll give that. But that offense Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: is horrific. Josh DeMage: I've s I I don't know Roy Clapp: Calamari sucks. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: I don't know the exact stat or the exact number of the stat, but I think the second highest blitzing team, again I don't know who it is, is around forty five percent. Like almost half, but not quite half, is how often the second most blitzing defense blitzes. The Vikings are currently sitting around seventy nine percent. Like every place someone's coming. It's Brice: Yeah. To be fair, that's elevated a little bit from whenever they played the Packers and they blitzed every single play because the Packers O line was unbelievably bad and they got to I think Jordan Love had a time to throw from snap time of like point five seconds. 'Cause they blitzed every single play of the entire second half. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: Okay. Josh DeMage: So, I mean, Brian Flores is known for bringing I mean he'll stack nine people on that box and he'll send eight of I mean, he'll send the house, so Brice: I can't wait for that guy to get out of my division. Josh DeMage: Yeah, I mean, ever since he was in Miami, man, and he came back. I don't know if he's getting another head coaching jobby. all right. So I'm gonna go into our picks again. Bryce kinda nailed him. I'm eleven and five. Bryce is thirteen and three, Bry or Roy is twelve and four, all right there. yeah, like Bryce said, games that he stole for me and Roy. he had Niners over Broncos, he had Panthers over Lions, and he had Browns over Steelers. Probably one of the most flipped we've been. Roy Clapp: Okay. Okay. Josh DeMage: We usually we don't have that many for one person. one that Roy got over us, Bryce, is he got the Giants over the Cardinals. And then one that me and Roy got over you, Bryce, we had the Jags over the Bengals. Other than that, the only one we all missed was the Bills and Patriots. All right, I think that's all I got for week four. Are you guys good? All right, Bryce, you want to type? Roy Clapp: Yep. Brice: Yeah. Yeah. Josh DeMage: Let's go to week five. We're gonna start it off Sunday night or Sunday night. Thursday night football. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going down to Dallas. I'll be quick. Tampa Bay's beat up. So is Dallas, but Dallas is gonna win this one. Brice: I agree with Josh. I think the Cowboys are gonna win this one. Roy Clapp: Yeah, mean, your buck and your socks of cowboys. Brice: And the Cowboys offense is unbelievable. If they had any type of defense that'd be a good team. Josh DeMage: Yeah. they played better down the stretch against Houston, but yeah, still terrible. next one. this game is in London. Eagles are gonna go play the London Jaguars 'cause they play there every year. I'll take the Jags cause they play there every year and the Eagles are all banged Roy Clapp: Yep. Josh DeMage: up. Brice: I agree, and I think they play there twice this year, don't they? Josh DeMage: very possible. They they like playing there more than Jacksonville, so Brice: Yeah, through the home team. Roy Clapp: Yeah, the Jags are, and I think they win more than Josh DeMage: They do, they win there. Roy Clapp: they win, so take the Jags. Brice: I bet they have more fans in England than they do in Florida. Josh DeMage: Yeah, it's it's very po probable. then to the noon slight, same kind of schedule as last week basically. Bears are gonna go into Lambeau. Bryce, I'll let you go first as a Bears fan. Brice: Give me the bears. I didn't think it would be close. Josh DeMage: Yeah, I'm in agreement with ya. I think the Packers are just too beat up right now. Roy Clapp: Yeah, defense Packers defense is very struggling. So I'll go Bears. Josh DeMage: Next one, Texans will go to Tennessee, battle the 0-4s. Roy, I'll let you go first on this one. Who's going to get their first win? Roy Clapp: I am gonna take the Texans. I don't really want to. I Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: Titans could get it, but I'm gonna go Texans. Josh DeMage: Texans defense is still sol Will Anderson, by the way, is an all pro edge rusher. I'll take the Texans. Brice: I'm also gonna take the Texans, even though I think they're really bad this year. Cam Ward's one of the worst quarterbacks I've ever seen. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Bengals will go down to Miami to play the Dolphins. I don't know about Jamar Chase. Haven't heard any report yet. I'll still take the Bengals. I Brice: I doubt he's playing. That was one of the dirtiest hits I've ever seen. Josh DeMage: Yeah, I'll still they still have T Higgins and I'm expecting him to play. I'll take the Bengals. Brice: I agree. Roy Clapp: I hope Teague Higgins plays for fantasy football, so I'll take the bingles. Josh DeMage: I heard he was just day to day. He and it wasn't. Yeah. Roy Clapp: Yeah, I just had abductor muscle, so. Josh DeMage: Next one, Raiders, three and one. We'll go to the three and one Patriots. I think they're three and one. Maybe they're two and two. I think they're two and two. Brice: Two and two, I think. Roy Clapp: Two and two, yep. Josh DeMage: Raiders and Patriots. I'll go first on this one. Raiders really showed some fight against the Chiefs, but it's a division game and it was at home. I'll still I'll take the Patriots at home to beat the Raiders. Brice: I'm actually gonna take the Raiders. I think the Raiders defense Josh DeMage: Kirko Chains. Brice: I think the Raiders defense is gonna get at him and Kirko Change actually doesn't look bad this year. Josh DeMage: I mean if he doesn't have to move off his spot, he's fine. Brice: Yeah. well he had that one Roy Clapp: Bye. Brice: roll out touchdown, he looked like freaking Joe Josh DeMage: That's true. Brice: Montana in the second half of the Chiefs game. Roy Clapp: I'm going to take the Patriots. just coming out east, team at noon Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: slides is tough for West Coast teams. Josh DeMage: Next one, Vikings will go to the Saints. This feels like an upset alert. Vikings offense hasn't been good. The Saints have at least put up points, but I'm gonna take the Vikings. Roy Clapp: taking the Vikings to that defense just too good. the Saints is offenses just got them is too much too many injuries and I mean, they put up some points. Brice: I'm gonna take the Vikings as well, but I really wanna pick the Saints and Josh DeMage: Next one, Browns will go to New York to play the Jets. Bryce, I'll let you go first 'cause you're a Browns fan. Brice: Give me the browns. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: The Jets Josh DeMage: Roy. Brice: looked the Jets looked horrible in the Bears game. I didn't talk about the Bears game at all because it there wasn't much to talk about. The Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: Bears had more first downs than the Jets had plays. Like that is some of the worst offense I've ever seen in my life. Josh DeMage: Yeah, and they didn't look too bad the c last couple of weeks either. That's the thing that surprises me. Brice: The Bears defence is better than people said it was gonna be, to be fair. But yeah. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy, what do you think? Roy Clapp: Browns, the Jets, I mean, they're talking about firing their coaches already four weeks in a season, Josh DeMage: There's no chance. I mean, I'm not saying that there's no chance. They shouldn't. They traded their entire roster for first round picks. They got five of You gotta let at least use Brice: Yeah. Yeah. And they're lucky that the Packers are terrible 'cause they get the best of the Packers and Cowboys. Roy Clapp: I'm just saying they were talking about firing their coach. So I'm just, that's Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: all I said. Brice: Should. If you're gonna get all those new picks you should hire the best coach. Should never keep a shady coach if you're getting a bunch of new picks. Josh DeMage: I'm just not a fan of defensive coaches as a head coach anymore, but I don't know, I'm torn on this one. I wanna take the Browns. My gut tells me the Jets will find a way. I'm gonna go Browns. Brice: Go ahead and take the jets. I'll get another text message about it. Josh DeMage: I'll t I'll take the Jets. Or Browns, excuse me. I'll take the Browns. Brice: Roy. Roy Clapp: Check the browns. Brice: Okay. Now they're probably not just going off. Josh DeMage: Next one, Colts. We'll go to the Steelers. I'll take the Colts because they can run the ball and the Steelers pass rush should be able to be a little neglected because of that. Brice: I got the Colts too. I think the Steelers look terrible. Even though they did come back in that game, they look terrible. Josh DeMage: Yeah. They have spurts, but man, sometimes they look real bad. Brice: It looks like American level pointing out there. Roy Clapp: Yeah, I just put their play calling. Just doesn't look right. I'll go I'll I'll go colds. Josh DeMage: One thing that surprised me about the Steelers, Mike McCarthy's always had Alpha at wide receiver. Devontae Adams for the longest time. CeeDee Lamb down in Dallas. He's got DK Medcap, but Lamb and Adams were able to get into the middle of the field and move around there a little bit more elusive. Versus DK's is just such a big body. It just seems like he can't get the ball to him other than like a deep shot or a deep cross. Like there's not no slant routes or I don't know. Roy Clapp: You know what? Give me Pittsburgh in that game. I'll change it. Josh DeMage: Me talking about Mike McCarthy and DK Metcalf got you excited? Roy Clapp: I'm just gonna be different. You guys, yeah, I'm gonna tell you little different. Josh DeMage: All right, next one. Giants will go to the Commanders. yeah, Commanders are on a third string here. I'll take I'll take the Giants. Roy Clapp: They're terrible. Brice: Roy, I would like to hear you say the commander's starting quarterback's name. Josh DeMage: Wow. Roy Clapp: I even know who the quarterback is. Josh DeMage: He went to I think he went to Rutgers. Brice: I'm gonna attempt my best to say this guy's name. Roy Clapp: I didn't even know who it was. I just know they went through their third string. Brice: Athen Caliachmanus Josh DeMage: Calligmanis. Brice: Yeah. Roy Clapp: Hmm. Josh DeMage: Yeah, I think he went to Rutgers Roy, if I'm not mistaken. Roy Clapp: I'm Calum Annis. Brice: Did you play with Calm and Other Guy? Josh DeMage: next we Giants and Commanders. I'll take Giants. Brice: Also guns. Roy Clapp: I take giants, mean that's easy. Josh DeMage: Next one, Broncos will go to LA to play the Chargers. Roy, I'll let you go first. Roy Clapp: Barrancos, even though their defense is all injured, I'll still take Barrancos. Josh DeMage: Yeah. I really thought Pat Sertan tore his Achilles and then they found out it was just an ankle injury but the way he fell, way he couldn't walk. Ooh, I was nervous. yeah, I'll take the Broncos as well. Next one, Brice: Me too. Josh DeMage: Lions will go to Arizona to play the Cardinals. I'll take the Lions. Brice: I'm also gonna take the Lions, but I think this game could be close. I think the Lions just have a little more stars. Roy Clapp: I'm gonna take the Cardinals. Josh DeMage: Good for you, Roy. if if you got any Brice: I I don't I don't hate that. Josh DeMage: fantasy players in this game, play I don't care who they are. I bet you that game I guarantee you sixty points are scored, no doubt. Brice: Are you starting Marvin Harrison Junior in this game? Josh DeMage: Well, I don't have Marvin Harrison Jr. because I'm not an idiot, but no. Actually, nah. Brice: Exactly. So don't start that guy. Josh DeMage: Just throw the ball to McBride every play. That's all I care about. next one. Here we go. This is a good one. Niners will travel to Seattle to play the Seahawks. I think this is battled for first place because four-o against three and one. Bryce, I'll let you go first on this one. Brice: I want the forty niners in this game. I think they look really good this year. Josh DeMage: Ooh. I'll go next. I'm gonna take the opposite. I'm gonna take the Seahawks at home. Roy Clapp: I'm gonna take the Seahawks at home. like Sam Darnold, Josh DeMage: Damn it, Roy. Roy Clapp: man. Brice: I just think the Seahawks losing Kenneth Walker is just it's been too much on that. The offense just is not looking. Josh DeMage: Next one, this will be Sunday night football, yes. Ravens will go to Atlanta to play the Falcons. Falcons third primetime game in three weeks. can I put my caveat here? Brice: I'll go first since you got some bullshit caveat. I'm taking the Falcons for the upset. I think they figured something out and Dijon's gonna have five hundred rushing yards. Josh DeMage: I would love that. He's in both my leagues. Roy Clapp: I'm going to take the Falcons too because I don't think Lamar's playing. Josh DeMage: If Lamar plays, I'll take the Ravens. If he doesn't, I'll take the Falcons. Hey, last time I did my caveat at work. and then s mu Monday night football, the Bills will go Ooh, that's a good game. We'll go to LA to play the Rams. That should be a shootout. I'll go first. I'm gonna take the bills on the road to going to LA. That's a fifty fifty toss up. Roy Clapp: I'm gonna take the bills too. Brice: And I really wanna take the bills. But I think I could probably Josh DeMage: Young Brice: get one here if I take the Rams, so I'm gonna take Even though Matthew Stafford has looked horrible this year compared to last year. But I think Miles Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: Garrett's back this game, so Josh DeMage: Really? I d I do not think that's true. I read that he was like not close. Brice: Maybe not. But I think this was his projected day when he originally got hurt. Josh DeMage: what did I want to say? first time we will not have a full slate. First round of buys have begun. Chiefs and Panthers, two teams coming off big wins, both on bye. Brice: I I hate week five buys. That's the worst buy to have. Josh DeMage: I agree. Cowboys always have it right in the middle. We got one at like the end. I think we're like week twelve or fourteen or something. Like we're at the very end. Yeah, we're usually in the middle. okay, I don't think I have anything else for NFL, you guys? All right, Roy, that takes us to college football. Brice: I feel like the bears are normally early. No. Roy Clapp: Nope. All right, College football. What a week. Start off with Thursday night. I don't if you got to see the Texas Tulsa game. Pretty close game went into overtime and they guy got stopped on the two point conversion and North Texas 145 40 Northwestern beat up on Penn State. Yeah, that was that Josh DeMage: Wow, yeah, they did. That home opener. Roy Clapp: was not. Yeah, not even Yeah, Brice: That was a good take by Josh. Roy Clapp: I even close. Notre Dame whipped up on North Carolina 37 26 Ohio State beat Iowa 31 14. Alabama whipped up on number 16 Mississippi State 5623. Missouri just took care of Florida 4517. Brice: Yeah. Roy Clapp: That was surprising by what I thought that was. I thought that'd be a different way. The way is gone. Tennessee took care of Auburn 2414. USC took care of Washington 2521. Let's see some games that we talked about. UNLV beat California. Georgia State took care of Old Dominion. Kentucky takes care of comes back. Yeah, beat Josh DeMage: Come back. Yeah. Roy Clapp: South Carolina 3534 and what again? Josh DeMage: I caught a little bit of that game. Roy Clapp: Fresno State took care of took care of Washington State. Josh your Rainbow Warriors got beat by the San Jose State. Josh DeMage: Rainbow Warriors. Man, I wanted that one s I wanted that more than it. Brice: I told you don't pick the Rainbow Warriors. I say it every week. I literally say it every week. Josh DeMage: I wanted so bad. I was gonna wear Roy Clapp: 20 to 16. Josh DeMage: I was gonna wear crazy outfit on this podcast if they won that game. Brice: I'm sure you were in your free time all the time, Rainbow Warrior. Roy Clapp: You wear that stuff. And then, hey, the Air Force took, Air Josh DeMage: Yeah, my McLovin jersey that says Hawaii on the front. Roy Clapp: Force takes care of Navy, 14 to nine. Brice: Yeah, fuck the seamen. Roy Clapp: Let's see, Illinois, Illinois gets beat by Purdue. I gotta find that score. Josh DeMage: No the worst team in the Big Ten. Roy Clapp: I thought, maybe Brice: Yeah. Roy Clapp: not now. I don't even know where the score, can't even find the score. There's 24 to 17, and then Michigan just sucking ass, God damn. Brice: The worst two teams in the Big Ten. Roy Clapp: 20 to 14 can be by Minnesota. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: That Bryce Underwood contract's looking rough. Roy Clapp: I mean, it's not the worst one in the, if you saw some of the contracts across the college football, not even the worst one there. We're only Brice: Yeah. Roy Clapp: paying them five million. There's some that are paying eight to 10. So. Brice: I just every week whenever Michigan wins I get off Twitter 'cause I don't want to see Dave Portnoy's stupid shit, but whenever Michigan loses I'm getting on Twitter 'cause I wanna see him cry and I Roy Clapp: I love Dave, Dave Porni. So Josh DeMage: I do too. Roy Clapp: anything on college football you guys want to talk about? Josh DeMage: No when does basketball Brice: I don't really have anything. Josh DeMage: season start? Yeah, Roy Clapp: A couple weeks actually. Josh DeMage: I come counting down. Roy Clapp: All right, so we got picks this week. I got 10 games. Luckily, my Wolverines have a week off, so I'll have to deal with their shit. First game that we're gonna talk about, Iowa versus Washington. Iowa's at Washington, and Washington is a three-point favorite. Brice: I'll go first. Give me Washington Romadunze. Josh DeMage: Roy? Roy Clapp: shit, Give me Iowa! Josh DeMage: Damn it. I'm also going to Iowa. The way they play will travel just naturally. Roy Clapp: Yeah. The next. Josh DeMage: 'Cause that's the only thing I'm worried about is travel. Roy Clapp: Yeah, the travel is the worst part of that, but I think, you the slow down game they play and the defense can do it. Next one. Arizona goes to West Virginia. Arizona is a three point favorite. Josh DeMage: Really? Mm. Roy Clapp: I'll go first here. I will take West Virginia. Josh DeMage: I just saw West Virginia's last couple of games. Let me tell ya, they don't play a lick of defense. I'll take Arizona. Brice: also rock with Arizona. Roy Clapp: All right, next one. me find it here. Miami, Ohio playing Massachusetts. is at Massachusetts. Miami, Ohio is minus two and a half. Brice: I will take Miami, Ohio. I feel like every time I pick them they went. Roy Clapp: I am gonna take mass, Massachusetts. Josh DeMage: I'm also gonna take mass. Roy Clapp: Let's see, what's the next one? Houston at Kansas State. Brice: First and state. Roy Clapp: Houston ranked 22nd at Kansas State. Kansas State is favored by two and a half. Wow. Josh, I'll let you go first, Brice: You got things you bar. Roy Clapp: Josh. Josh DeMage: Yeah, I'm looking at their stuff. I'll take Houston. Brice: I will also take Houston. They beat S IUE in the Marshmallows tournament a few years ago. Josh DeMage: Good basketball speed. Roy Clapp: I'll take you, I'll take Houston. Gosh, I'm picking against all the spreads. I don't know if that's good or bad. Josh DeMage: huh. Roy Clapp: Now Tulsa versus Navy. Tulsa goes to Navy. Navy is favored by two and a half. Josh DeMage: I hate when non military teams play each other. I don't know who to pick. Roy Clapp: I will go first. Josh DeMage: Woo God dang Tulsa. Roy Clapp: I will take Tulsa. Brice: I am also gonna take Tulsa in this game. Josh DeMage: Yeah, in it also. Roy Clapp: All right, next one. Gotta find it first. Minnesota goes to Purdue. Minnesota is a two and a half point favorite. Josh DeMage: Well battle of the screw art teams this week. Brice: Give me Purdue. Roy Clapp: I'm gonna take Minnesota. Josh DeMage: Where is this game? Why can't this is the first one I can't believe. Roy Clapp: It's at Purdue at seven o'clock at night. Josh DeMage: Seven o'clock at night. it's at the very bottom. It's at Purdue. yeah, I'll take Minnesota. Roy Clapp: All right, big game of the week. Number two, Georgia at number six, Alabama. Josh DeMage: Wow, did not know they were playing this week. Roy Clapp: Alabama is a one and a half point favorite. Who wants to go first on this one? Josh DeMage: Maybe I'll go first if you give me thirty seconds. Brice: Alright, I'll go first then. Gimme Georgia. Josh DeMage: bulldogs. Gaboodogs. Who Georgia played? Nobody. Roy Clapp: Yeah, that's the problem. Josh DeMage: man. Brice: Although Savan's document comes out Thursday. Josh DeMage: Bama's put up some points, man. But I know Kirby Smart's gonna slow him down. I hate this. Roy Clapp: Gosh dang it, give me Bama. Josh DeMage: man, it's in Bryant Denny too. this is a hard one. Man, I'm torn. Roy Clapp: I like Georgia, but, ugh. Brice: Nick Saban's documentary comes out Thursday Josh DeMage: Who'd you guys pick? I c what you say? Brice: Nick Saban's documentary comes out Thursday, they're playing for him. Josh DeMage: I know, I can't wait. It's I'm s I'm haven't looked forward to watching like a TV show like that so long. You guys are split. man. Brice: You took Minnesota on the last one, right, Josh? Josh DeMage: Yep. I don't know who to pick. Brice: Coinflip. Josh DeMage: Kirby Smart. God, if Caitlin De Boer wasn't their head coach, I'd pick George. Or I'd pick Bama. Brice: Look at it this way, I'm beating you, so go against me. Josh DeMage: I think Roy I think you guys are tied for the. Doesn't matter. I'll take Bama at home. I hate it. I hate it. I know Caitlin DeBoor's gonna blow it. Hate it. Dang it. Roy Clapp: Alright, next one USC goes to Penn State. Penn State is a one and a half point favorite. Josh DeMage: Battle of the shits right now too. Roy Clapp: I'll go first. I am taking USC. I do not think Penn State's that good. Josh DeMage: Yeah. I'll take USD as well. Brice: I agree with you. Roy Clapp: Next one, Tennessee goes to Arkansas. Tennessee's a 13 and half point favorite. Give me Tennessee. Arkansas sucks. Josh DeMage: Yeah, I was gonna say I'll take ten. Yeah. Brice: Yep. Josh DeMage: Razorback stadium. Roy Clapp: And then let me find Illinois here. Okay. Illinois goes to East Lansing to Michigan State. Illinois is a two and a half point favorite. Wow. Josh DeMage: I'll take Illinois. Brice: You sounded so defeated saying that. Josh DeMage: It's not basketball season yet, I don't care. Brice: I'll take Michigan State. Roy Clapp: Wow. Brice: I've got way more different than you guys. Josh DeMage: Yeah, right. And we're you we know what's gonna happen. We're gonna split. Rice's gonna win three by himself. He can lose three of them by himself. Brice: I'm gonna go ten of though again. Roy Clapp: I'm gonna take Michigan State. I went against, think eight of my 10 I went against the spread. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Bryce, we have so many different Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: What about me and Roy? One W two. Me and w me and Roy are similar. Roy Clapp: too. Gosh dang it Josh. Don't you want to switch some of yours? Don't you like you want to switch? Josh DeMage: No. Brice: No block. Josh DeMage: The only one that I would debate switching truthfully, Georgia and Bama, I think, is a coin flip to me. But USC scares me going all the way to the East Coast. I Roy Clapp: Yeah, Penn State sucks, though. Josh DeMage: know, but what time is that game? It's at night. That helps them now. I'll t I'll keep USC. If it was at like eleven AM, I would have flipped it probably. Okay. No, I'm good. So I don't think I n I said it. I'm gonna go back to NFL just for ten seconds. Our NFL record, Bryce Leeds at 42 and 22. I'm in second at 40 and 24. And Roy is 38 and 26, all two games apart. Four back Roy is a Bryce. College football by itself. Roy leads 42 and 16. That's a really good record. Bryce is two, or four back, excuse me, 38-20. And I'm 35-23. I have the worst college football record. Roy Clapp: Okay. Josh DeMage: Overall record of all the footballs, Bryce and Roy are both tied eighty and forty two, and I'm five backed seventy five and forty seven. Brice: Josh, you're basically eliminated. Josh DeMage: Shit, I might be ahead of you after this week. Roy Clapp: Well, hell, college football is where I'm making my money. I mean, I've been making Josh DeMage: See, mine mine's the opposite. I can't Roy Clapp: money on college football. Josh DeMage: Every time I pick a fifty-fifty I tell you I'm the worst fifty-fifty guesser on the planet, so it makes sense. okay, Brice: You just don't know them all. Josh DeMage: I don't have anything else for college football, you guys. Roy Clapp: No. Brice: Nope. Josh DeMage: All right, we're gonna go into baseball. Playoffs. Last time we spoke, I believe Roy were Yankees in Boston playing game one. Is that correct? Roy Clapp: Yep. Josh DeMage: Yeah, so it was the first night of it all for everyone. I'm gonna start in the top left corner. The White Sox swept the Astros in Houston 2-0. They moved on to play Cleveland. Yankees swept Boston 2-0 in the Bronx. They moved on to play Tampa Bay. the Padres, sadly for Bryce, swept the Cubs in San Diego. moved on to play the Brewers. The only game of the W Wildcard round to get to a third game winner take all. Atlanta and Philly. Atlanta took game one. Philly came back and won game two. But at the end the game one winner, Atlanta comes out at home and wins Roy Clapp: Okay. Josh DeMage: game three to go on to play LA. Brice: Yeah. Philly had arguably like one of the worst weeks in sports ever. I don't know if you guys saw all their stuff. Yeah. Roy Clapp: Okay. Josh DeMage: Yeah, I s I know the I saw the thing you're talking about. All right, Bryce, I'm just gonna let you bite it. Wha what'd you think? What about the series, what happened, all that. Brice: with the Cubs Padres. It actually went pretty much how I thought it would. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: you Brice: when we were discussing our picks, I thought our only chance is if we were on the other side. I didn't think we could beat the Padres. I thought there was a chance, but the Cubs have some real answers for next season, if there is a season, because the way this lineup is built, we're either the best team in the league or we're the worst. It Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: It's just so many streaky guys and we got cold Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: right when the Padres got hot, so Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: it's kinda how I expected it to go. And then you Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: see the Padres in the next series, or the Brewers in the next series, they just have absolute devil magic. I mean, a l a go-ahead home run in the ninth inning hits a fucking ceiling and is caught for an out. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: Like, it's straight devil magic. Josh DeMage: Yeah, yeah, I think I think the Cubs are a really good team. they definitely needed some starting pitching. I didn't think their starting pitching really let them down per se. I mean, did they pitch great in this series? No. This didn't really hit. Like Bryce said, they do have some streaky headers. But they ran to a buzz solve San Brice: the Padres were pitching lights out of Josh DeMage: Diego. They got him in San Diego, which helps San Diego. I think if San Diego's playing in Chicago, totally different ballgame. but you know, that's that's what you know, every game matters in the regular season. That's why you fight for a wild card to win the division to get a bot. You know, that's what you do. but yeah, I just I think you ran in one of the hotter teams and just didn't have it. Roy, let's jump over to our side. Yankees in Boston. I'll go first. This was about as perfect of a two-game series as you could have asked for for the New York Kings. They played clean baseball. They got unbelievable starting pitching. Their bullpen did what they needed to do, and they Roy Clapp: Okay. Josh DeMage: hit the shit out of the ball. but all games were tight till about the fourth, fifth inning, and they really started to hit. I really I mean, there isn't much. Boston really limped in offensively and it showed they couldn't hit anything. So Roy Clapp: Yeah, I mean with the Yankees actually, I mean what they did, how they structured a lineup in that series, they did a good job. That's, because they can match up well doing that against Boston in a way how Boston pitches and does things. So that just worked out perfect and the pitching was really, really, I mean, Cam and Fried pitched really well, did really well Josh DeMage: Max. Yeah. Roy Clapp: for everything. Josh DeMage: Yeah. yeah, there really was not I mean, some of these two O's there's just not a lot of talk about. It was just they they won two games and it was it. the White Sox took care of Houston. I could not believe Hunter Brown for Houston got the game two start and did not get out of the first inning. That it was just shocking to me. Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: Houston did not deserve to be a playoff team. I'm not saying that. But Hunter Brown is still a good pitcher. so that one was surprising for me to see. And then the Atlanta game, I kind of think it was funny. Outside of the last game, Philly kind of had game one one until they gave up a three run shot, trying to have a closer, pitch three innings. but Austin Riley hits the game basically the game winner. in game one comeback and then it was kind of flipped. It was three one Atlanta in game two and then Schwarber and Harper went back to back and then eventually in the top of the tenth Bolm gets them for a solo shot and they win four three. So they was kinda split. They both had comebacks but Atlanta took care of Philly game three. but yeah, you guys got anything for that game that that series? Brice: I just got an alert though, Padres plays Mason Miller out for game three. Roy Clapp: For the paternity list. Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: Really. Well, really? Has he pitched in I know he pitched the last game. I don't know if he pitched the first game. Roy Clapp: I don't know. The Atlanta-Philly series, mean, when you play your end division rivals, it's just so hard to match up and you know each Josh DeMage: Okay. Roy Clapp: other too well and it just gets things. mean, Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: it could be a battle like that or it could be a sweep. It's just that's how, that's the only way it can be. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Okay, let's I'll move it on to the AL and NLDS, the division series. Right now, again, this is best of five, so the first one to win three. Kind of in the same exact boat of the wild card. Three teams are currently up 2 0. and one is well I can I can tell you in a second. Roy Clapp: Dodger's just one, so they're up two to one. Yep. Josh DeMage: Okay, was gonna ask, did they go final? They did. One. So it on the American League side, both are 2 0. On the National League side, Brewers and Podbury still have to play tonight. If Milwaukee wins, it's over. Milwaukee's up 2 0 in the series. They're going in San Diego. And then, yes, as Roy just said, LA has beaten Atlanta, but that's not the div that's not the series because Atlanta Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: took one in LA. So it's two one Dodgers. let's start up. I I I think this one will be the quickest. Sox and Guardians, the Guardians were at home. You know, they won the division on a late season comeback. White Sox have not lost a game this postseason. They're up two I don't think this one makes it out of the third game. I think Chicago's gonna sweep and get out of and go to the DS or the CS. You guys got anything up on that series? Roy Clapp: I mean, Chicago is playing really well. Their young guys are just hitting the hell of the ball. They're Josh DeMage: Yep. Yeah. Roy Clapp: just playing out of their mind. In these short series like that, they can. You just, don't Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: have to worry. They don't have anything to worry about. Making mistakes and things like that. I think they may, I think they'll win the series now that they're up 2-0. Whether it'll be the third game, three or game four, they're going to win the series. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Well, I've just been so impressed with how well they've pitched. That's always that's I mean, they've hit all year up and down in spurts, but man, their pitching really down the stretch has been pretty brutal. But man, they've Roy Clapp: Yeah. Josh DeMage: been electric on the mound. and then we'll jump down to the Yankees Rays. Roy, I'll let you go first. Tampa Bay leads the series two going back to New York. Roy Clapp: Well, you I know you, you and I have text, I've text from this. I have not been happy with the lineup. know you, you can't play the same lineup that you did. You can't play the same way you did against Boston. Tampa is not Boston. You can't have the same lineup. You have to do it differently. You have to match the team. And they just kind of, just because they threw two righties, they thought, or they threw, yeah, they just thought they'd run this the same guys out there. Well, guess what? It didn't work. But our defense has been shit too. It's just not in a cam. Eric Cole pitched great. Just didn't just, I mean, pitch a great game. We just didn't get any hits. You're, mean, I know, was a Rasmussen was there a pitcher? He just, he pitched great, but you know, our lineup is just not, I was not happy even when I saw the lineup. Just you need a, let's, I want, I, as much as I don't like Volpe getting, I, I'm, yeah, as you know, I'm, I hate jazz. I'm not Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: a McMahon fan. I think you guys need, I think you need Calabarero in there. think you get, you need guys in there who are gonna be electric for you. That's gonna maybe get you, kind of like what they are. They got speed, putting the ball in play, getting and making some things happen. That's what you've got to do. And I was really kind of worried with Schiller coming in there because he just threw 117 pitches. Like he hasn't done that, I mean, since what, last year. Josh DeMage: I don't think he's ever thrown that many. Roy Clapp: And I was kind of worried that he was going Brice: Yeah, yeah. Roy Clapp: to come in and not hit his spots. Well, guess what? He struggled early. And then when they didn't make the plays, that kind of added more pressure, pressure pitches. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: It's just not a great day. They've got to be better with their lineups and what they're going to do. Josh DeMage: Yeah, I mean the Boston series was so good to watch because they did so many things that they've struggled with over I'm not even gonna say this year. It's been the same type of team for the last five years. And they're just back it's just this is how they lose playoff games. They they pitch, they do well, and they're a three true outcome team. They strike out, they walk, or they hit a home run. And when you don't hit the home run against Good pitching, that's what happens. You you know, you're not facing some, you know, whatever starter from the Rockies or the, you know, Reds, where you can just catch three or four homers a game. The Yankees had what, four hits l they have five hits this series in 18 innings. Two of are home runs. Two of from Austin Wells. And I I don't know who has the other one. That I mean, it's just. It's the same thing. It's three true outcomes. The Rays do exactly the opposite of the Yankees. They put the ball in play. They make you make plays. Tampa Bay is one of the worst defensive infields in the history of baseball. I think they lead baseball on airs this year in the infield. We haven't had a ground ball all year or all series, I don't think. It's pop-ups, Roy Clapp: Now. Josh DeMage: it's strikeouts, it's walks. It's all they do. So yeah, they're not getting tested. Versus Roy Clapp: Pop-ups all day, because they're, yeah. Josh DeMage: our infield, which hasn't been the worst in baseball. It's actually been mediocre. right around, you know, 20 out of 30, can't make a play in the infield. They're just too fat. It's just the the concept has got to change. but I mean this this is exactly what I expected from the series. That's why I picked Tampa Bay when we did our brackets is cause I knew they would put the ball in play. I knew we would not hit I mean Drew we haven't hit Drew Rasmussen in eight years. I mean I that guy if he pitched against Roy Clapp: But I'm not. Josh DeMage: the Yankees, he'd be the Cy Young and the greatest pitcher of all time. Roy Clapp: think if we make adjustments, if they do, I think we got the pitching. If the Yankees can do some adjusting on the hitting, being coming home for two, I've seen it too many times where you're down 0-2 and you've come back. I've seen it too many times. It can happen. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy Clapp: And I'm not that worried yet. Josh DeMage: I I do think the Yankees could win game three, because the Rays don't hit lefties very well. but I mean there's just no shot in game five we're touching Rasmussen, so I I just don't I don't expect it to go past game four. okay, enough of that series. Atlanta and Dodgers, now a 2-1 series. Yeah, I Roy Clapp: Dodgers don't even, mean that. Josh DeMage: agree. They're j I mean, they're too much. The game that Atlanta got, I think the Dodgers threw their worst starter, and that's Snell. I don't know if they're going glass now in game four or if they're gonna go back to f or Scuble. either one I think they win it in the next one and I think it's in the burger. Roy Clapp: mean, Freddie Freeman hadn't hit two home runs since he all started breaking. He's hit two in the series. Josh DeMage: Playoff for Eddie. Rice, you got anything on this series? Brice: No, but I am actually kind of rooting for the Dodgers because some dumbass in my fantasy football group chat bet that an AL team is gonna win the World Series this year, because he's a White Sox fan and has been talking up the White Sox forever. And he just assumed that nobody in our group chat knew anything about baseball, and he's like, guys, the White Sox are winning the World Series. He's and I know but Well, me and Zach Walkie were both in that group chat, and we're like, You're a fucking retard. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: The guy tried to tell me that the Atlanta Braves that won the World Series against the Dodgers beat them and that Dodgers team was better than this current one, is what he said. And I was like, that is arguably the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Josh DeMage: I mean, if this Dodgers team hits, I mean, they're just not gonna be beat. Because Roy Clapp: Nope. Josh DeMage: I don't know why they lined it up the way they did. Maybe it's because of how the regular season ended, and I understand you can't throw pitchers off their schedules like that. I don't I do not know how you win against Scuble or Yamamoto. I'm just gonna leave it at those two. I think Glass now's great. I think their lineup's great. I don't know how you beat those two. Scoobyl can go six and give you one run, and Yamamoto can give you six and give you one run. Well the Dodgers are gonna score more than one run those games. I I just d I don't know how they lose a series. I'm gonna be honest. I I I need to see it. But yeah. But then let's go down to San Diego and the Brewers. Milwaukee leads 2-0 and they can finish it tonight. But this has been a fascinating series. Bryce, you kinda kinda talked about it a little bit. You wanna go over what you've seen? Okay. Roy Clapp: . . Brice: Fuck now. Josh DeMage: San Diego, the game one was a real tight go-ahead home run for William Contreras and I think the eighth. I could be wrong. but close the whole way. so I think San Diego got up 2-0, Cherio two-run shot, and then Contreras solo shot, and that's what ended up winning it. And then game two is the Mason Miller game. Roy Clapp: Yep. Josh DeMage: Where they get I d I did not watch the game game two, I just saw the end. so it's was it two to three? Is that correct? And then they had Roy Clapp: Yeah, I think so. Brice: Thanks well. Josh DeMage: Miller. I they had Miller in for more than an inning, so I know he was not just in in the ninth, but comes in and they get the bases loaded, and Jackson Churio, two runs single to walk it off against I mean, the best closer in the sport. I don't think it's really debatable. Just I mean, like Bryce said, devil magic out there in Milwaukee. Roy Clapp: Okay. Josh DeMage: And it feels like Milwaukee has not been able to win those games over the last, what, five years, I'd say, in the playoffs. Roy Clapp: you Josh DeMage: So hats off to him because I mean, let's be real, San Diego's the hottest team coming into this playoff. So that's no easy task. I don't know if he was tipping. I've seen things on that on the internet that Miller was tipping his pitches and they knew. which that's all part of the game, but yeah. all right, so I'm not going to keep on baseball much longer. What are your guys' predictions on the World Series at this point? Who do you think makes it? Brice: Dodgers, Tampa. Josh DeMage: I'm in agreement with you, Bryce. I think Dodgers and Tampa. Roy Clapp: I mean, I'm still going to go with it. got the Dodgers. I still got the Yankees. I mean, I'll stay until everything's eliminated. Josh DeMage: Yeah. and then I I would have LA winning. But yep, okay. Roy Clapp: I mean, I have LA. Josh DeMage: we'll we'll probably be in what, middle of the early or probably the early part of the C S by the time we we record again, Roy Clapp: Probably Josh DeMage: so Roy Clapp: next week, they'll probably be lighter than that. Josh DeMage: Yeah, we'll see. We'll talk about it then. and then that's all I have for baseball. It just takes us to our miscellaneous Okay. Bryce, you got a game? Roy Clapp: I have a question. Josh DeMage: yeah, Roy, you have a question. Go ahead. Roy Clapp: I have a question for you that you two gotta answer and it's gonna be a tough one, all right? Brice: Right. Roy Clapp: So, okay, what professional sports team, all right? Professional sports team, Josh DeMage: Cool. Roy Clapp: okay? Drafted two Hall of Fame quarterbacks the same year. Josh DeMage: Say that again. Roy Clapp: What professional Brice: Yeah. Roy Clapp: sports team? Just think of sports, professional sports team. Josh DeMage: Okay. Yeah. Brice: I think I know yes. Roy Clapp: Drafted two Hall of Fame quarterbacks in the same year. Brice: Isn't it like the chargers or something? Roy Clapp: No. Well, Brice: I use the chargers. Roy Clapp: how many strikes you guys want or I mean, what do you? You wanna give me time or anything? What do you wanna do? Josh DeMage: About three strikes. Roy Clapp: Three strikes, I won't count that one. It's not the charge, but I won't even count that as a strike. Just think across the board. Brice: It's gotta be like a team we drafted like Eli Manning or Drew Brees or Josh DeMage: I mean, I know Tom Brady was picked. That's I'm kind of going off of Hall of Fame quarterbacks. I know we're picked in a sport. Brice: Yeah, but who was picked the same year as Tom Brady for the Patriots? They had a quarterback. Josh DeMage: Do I have to n I don't have to know who the other guys need to know the team. Brice: Yeah, but they wouldn't have taken one 'cause they had a starting quarterback who was an all st he was a pro bowler. Roy Clapp: saying at NFL team I'm saying professional sports team. Josh DeMage: I know you're not. I'm I know. That's why I said that's why I asked you to repeat it. Brice: It's If it's not N F L it's gotta be like a fucking Kurt Warner to X FL team or something. Josh DeMage: No, it's probably a major sports team. Roy Clapp: It's a major sports team. Brice: it's a baseball drafted player, I bet. Josh DeMage: That's what I'm saying. Tom Brady was drafted in baseball. That's I know it I kind of think it's not NFL now that Roy said that, even though I I knew Roy was saying it could be any sport. So yeah, I'm thinking of NFL Hall of Fame quarterbacks Bryce who play who were got drafted into another sport. I can't I mean, I don't know if I know anyone other than baseball. Yeah, but he's not a Hall of Fame quarterback yet. He's gotta be the highest drafted Brice: Kyler Murray. He never will be. Roy Clapp: Yet, it Josh DeMage: NFL employer. Roy Clapp: never will be. Josh DeMage: I mean, I think we have to guess the Patriots just to get it out of the way, even though I know it's wrong. Brice: Okay. Josh DeMage: Patriots. Okay. Brice: It has to be an L B team, doesn't it, Josh? Josh DeMage: I mean the way he made it it ha an ML b you're asking hold on. Brice: There's no what it has to be an and B team. B. Josh DeMage: Agree, I think it has I You're saying what team drafted so it is a it's a baseball team. I didn't Brice: Two quarterbacks. It has to be a baseball team. Yeah, that was a Josh DeMage: Okay, then can I change I I said the wrong answer then. For my Tom Brady pick, can I trade it to the Montreal Expos? Roy Clapp: I'll let you do that but that's still wrong. Josh DeMage: Okay, then that's our first strike. Because that's that's who I was thinking of. that is where he got drafted, right? Okay, well make sure I'm not an idiot. Okay. Brice: All the baseball football players I'm thinking did not play quarterback. Josh DeMage: think like I mean D Dion Sanders is not Roy Clapp: I'll give you a hint, it is a baseball team. Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: Deion Sanders wasn't a quarterback, but I'm trying I'm just trying to think of people I know that were Brice: Yeah, I keep thinking like Barry Sanders and Josh DeMage: I mean shit, we just need a we know it's baseball. We sh't two baseball teams. If it's if Brice: It would I don't know. Josh DeMage: we can't think of it, Bryce, it's an old team. Old baseball teams. Maybe the Reds? Brice: You know the athletics were really good for a while. Josh DeMage: Good guess too, old team. Wanna guessem? Brice: Yeah, I do. Josh DeMage: Athletics. Damn it. Roy Clapp: Wrong. Brice: Amen. Roy Clapp: But it is an American League team. Josh DeMage: Okay, the reds are out. I mean shit, could be the Yankees? Roy Clapp: I'll even give you, it's not any earlier than 1985. Josh DeMage: I feel like I should know that. Brice: Twenty years before I was born. Roy Clapp: Yeah, I mean, it's before 85, so it could have been. I don't want to give you the year. I'll give you the year when it's done, but. Brice: It's gonna be like a fucking World War Two veteran who got Roy Clapp: it. Brice: drafted and then went Roy Clapp: Nope, you know these two quarterbacks, guarantee it. Josh DeMage: My gut tells me the Yankees Bryce. Yankees Roy Clapp: No. Josh DeMage: Panets. Roy Clapp: The answer is in 1979, the Kansas City Royals picked Dan Marino and John Elway in the 1979 draft. Dan Marino was fourth round, 99 overall, and John Elway was 18th round, 463rd overall. Josh DeMage: I know that. I th I knew Elway played baseball, but I don't know if I knew he got Roy Clapp: Because I guess I was thinking Expos with Tom Brady too and stuff. And then I started thinking Josh DeMage: Yeah no. Roy Clapp: like... like older people who played baseball too. Josh DeMage: I probably would have guessed the Reds if you didn't say American League team 'cause they're so old. Yeah, I didn't either. Roy Clapp: I never dreamed of Royals, Josh DeMage: I guess that makes sense though. They had Bo Jackson too, so like they really didn't like the football players. Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: okay, Bryce, you got a game? Brice: I don't have game, but I do have a mystery slab that I got off Timu for free because I bought something else. I have absolutely no idea what could be in here. I assume it's football. But Josh DeMage: Okay. Brice: I am gonna open it with my eyes closed. I just want you Josh DeMage: Okay. Brice: guys to have a reaction whether it's good or bad. Josh DeMage: All right. If I don't see his autograph Brice: Facing the right way. Josh DeMage: it's a it's a singular. Hold it up. Now closer to the screen. Up I can't Roy Clapp: I can't even see it. Josh DeMage: see the name. I will give you a tip. It looks like a wide receiver. It could be a running back because he's catching the ball. Could be a D B. Roy Clapp: Okay Josh DeMage: I I can't see the name. Brice: Is it autographed? Here, let me turn around. You see the name? Josh DeMage: I don't I don't know. That does not help. actually keep that. Keep that. Nope, my QR code did not work. Go ahead, just look at it. Brice: Shaquille Evans for the Jets. Josh DeMage: Wow. How do she Brice: Ready card. I've never even heard of this guy. Josh DeMage: Me neither. Alright, let's look at him. Shaquille Evans. Cur current Brice: 2014. Josh DeMage: not currently. Brice: This guy's worth nothing. Josh DeMage: He never made it to the NFL. He never played a snap. Brice: Unbelievable. I'm leaving a horrible Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: review on this guy's shit. Josh DeMage: That that's awesome. Okay. I have a game, it's really quick. Brice: He just gave me a slab card. 841 of 2014. This is like a thirty dollar card. Josh DeMage: I have a game. It's really quick. We've already played it. We played baseball. This is a football version. I'm gonna name a player and I want you to name the first team that you or the team that you think of when it comes to this player. Okay? Okay. Brice: yeah, we did this. Roy Clapp: Okay. Josh DeMage: First name up Jimmy Graham. Roy Clapp: Saints. Brice: I mean the Saints but the Bears. Josh DeMage: Saints. There is no other Brice: I watched him catch a remember, we watched him catch a touchdown, Josh. Josh DeMage: Was that in S Pittsburgh? Brice: Pittsburgh, yeah. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Next one, Antonio Brown. Roy Clapp: Pittsburgh. Brice: Honestly, normally Pittsburgh, but I would say the Buccaneers from the as soon as I see him, I see him throwing his shoulder pads off. Josh DeMage: Yep. I saw someone on Twitter say Bucks as well. No bucks. Brice: The Patriots? yeah. Josh DeMage: next one, Brandon Cooks. Brice: Dallas. Josh DeMage: Ooh Roy Clapp: Probably Patriots. Josh DeMage: That's what I said as well, but because I I don't if someone plays on the Cowboys, unless I truly like that's their team, I usually don't count my Cowboys say. But I think of Brandon Cooks as a patriot as well. Next one, DeMarco Murray. Roy Clapp: Cowboy. Josh DeMage: Yeah, I also said cowboy for that one. I Brice: Yeah, I don't think I can't even think of another team he played for. Josh DeMage: hate that dude though. When he went to the Phil the Eagles, I lost my mind. Roy Clapp: Titans, Eagles. Josh DeMage: He most people said Dallas, but some people did say Titans. They did remember him in he was there before Henry got there for three or four years and was good. next one, Jimmy G. Roy Clapp: San Francisco. Brice: Probably the forty niners 'cause he went to the Super Bowl with Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: them. Josh DeMage: I also think Sam Fran. Kinda crazy though, he was a patriot for a while. Brice: Yeah, they had two undefeated quarterbacks at one point. 'Cause Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: Tom Brady went down undefeated. Jimmy Garoppolo won like four straight to the end of the season or something. Josh DeMage: Yep. Roy Clapp: But they had Jacoby Brissette was before that. Josh DeMage: Yep. And he Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: went undefeated, I think, or was really good. Yeah. Brice: Yeah. Roy Clapp: got hurt and then Jimmy G came. Josh DeMage: Next one. Bryce, this one I l I I I'm gonna save that one for last. Next one. Jameis Winston. Brice: Tampa Bay. Josh DeMage: I do not think of him with fucks Roy Clapp: Yeah. Josh DeMage: anymore. When I think of him, the first team I think of is the Saints. I just remember him having Yeah, I mean I do remember Roy Clapp: Yeah, probably the box. I'm remembering. Josh DeMage: him obviously, but I think of the Saints when I think of Jameis now. And then this one, I sh was gonna say this last. I saved this for Bryce. Rice, who do you think of when you think of the Red Rocket Andy Dalton? Brice: Don't ever mention that name around me again. You know what? I'm gonna say Josh DeMage: The red rocket. Brice: the Panthers because I was like five feet away from him in a Panther shirt. Roy Clapp: Yeah, I remember the Panthers and the Bengals. Josh DeMage: To me, I still remember him from the Bengals, him and AJ Green, but I'ma be honest. Brice: I'll never forget his bed. Josh DeMage: If I don't think of the Bengals, the first team I think of is the Bears. I really do. And I think it's because Bryce hates him so much. But yeah. Brice: I fucking hated him. Yeah. I was literally like ten feet away from him while he was warming up. Him and Bryce Young whenever I went to that Bears game when they played the Panthers. Fuck that Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: guy. He's lucky I didn't take his ACL out right there. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Alright, that's all I got. That's all the names. I just I want to do a football version of that. I like that game because it's you don't and I like not being able to see it. When I see it on TikTok I close my eyes and I do it. So I actually think of 'cause they have usually all the players jersey on there so I can see all the teams, but Alright. Brice: I can't believe I got a slab card of a guy who literally never played. That's unbelievable. Josh DeMage: Yeah, he never made CMF, he never played a game. Brice: What a rookie card. Somebody was probably pumped about that. Josh DeMage: Hit the like button, subscribe, and comment. We'll see you next week. Peace.
