Transcript
- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:20Friends, family and Christ, thank you so very much for tuning in, watching, listening,
- 0:24praying for us.
- 0:25Thank you.
- 0:26We're sharing the podcast, that's just as important, that's getting us out there.
- 0:31It's still a happy new year, here, hope it is, where you're at as well.
- 0:34And thank you again so much.
- 0:36Praise God, got another great guest today, Cal, or Calvin Smith, with answers in Genesis
- 0:42Canada.
- 0:43He's been with us before.
- 0:44In fact, before I give, yeah, answers in Canada, there it is, answers in GenesisCanada.ca.
- 0:51I want to give you, his first interview he did with us, it was all about AI.
- 0:57I don't think we're going to get to that today, but it was fascinating what that conversation
- 1:02was about.
- 1:03It was that AI admitted basically that evolution is effectively impossible.
- 1:10Go to that, go to worldviewmatters.tv and type in Calvin Smith in the search, and I'd
- 1:16love for you guys to check out that interview.
- 1:18But I want to give you, as Harbinger's page, he's at Harbinger's Daily, what a blessing,
- 1:24that he's got a page there as well.
- 1:26And the YouTube channel for answers in GenesisCanada, a lot of great information there, different
- 1:33from answers, US, there it is, it's just at answersCanada on YouTube.
- 1:40Praise God, that they're up there.
- 1:42I know the biblical worldview is not as popular, and that might be an understatement in Canada.
- 1:52And one more, let's see, oh, the Facebook page.
- 1:55Look up Calvin Smith AIG on Facebook, and you can connect with them there, he posts a
- 2:01lot of different things.
- 2:02So brother, thank you so much for your time, good to connect with you again.
- 2:05Good to be back.
- 2:07So Cal, first of all, just give us a little, you've been speaking and doing some tours
- 2:13with Ken Ham, before we get to the specific one we're going to talk about, and the conversation
- 2:18you had with two professing believers, what have you been doing, have you been traveling,
- 2:24doing videos, tell us a little bit about, catch us up.
- 2:27Well, you know, the video outreach was really the silver lining from COVID, you know, and
- 2:31we got locked down pretty hard, and I could go out and speak at conferences and churches
- 2:36and such.
- 2:37We really started to ramp up our video outreach, and that's really been a blessing.
- 2:40We actually doubled our video outreach from last year to this.
- 2:43We just hit 25 million views on our channel alone, and of course, we supply, you know,
- 2:50our videos to several other platforms as well.
- 2:52So that's really been astounding to reach that many people in such a short period of time.
- 2:57You know, conference season has ebbs and flows.
- 2:59I travel all across Canada, serving churches, here sometimes internationally at conferences.
- 3:05But that season's over, of course, we're, you know, probably better, but a month before
- 3:10I'll be on the road again and so on.
- 3:12So, yeah, that's what I do.
- 3:14I've done this for now for 25 years here in Canada and eight years in Genesis, so, yeah.
- 3:21Praise God, brother.
- 3:22Before we get into the topic today, I wasn't planning on asking you this, but you mentioned
- 3:25traveling across Canada, tell us about the environment, the temperature, so to speak,
- 3:31as far as the hostility toward the Biblical worldview, the true Biblical worldview, primarily
- 3:38when it comes to sexuality or creation, gender, what, I'm sure you get a lot of opposition,
- 3:45and is free speech an issue?
- 3:49Some churches, except you, some churches, don't tell us how that goes.
- 3:53There's a lot of churches that would not have answers in Genesis in just because we hold
- 3:57to, you know, a plain reading of what Genesis says.
- 4:02And of course, these issues that we see in culture, you know, traditional marriage, gender
- 4:08rules, all that stuff, really all Christian doctrines, directly or indirectly are founded
- 4:12in the book of Genesis.
- 4:13So, if you don't take that as plainly written, that's where you see a lot of churches going
- 4:16off, offside.
- 4:18But we are receiving some, you know, some pushback in terms of this, what they call hate
- 4:25speech.
- 4:26And now there's an amendment to a bill here in Canada, Bill C9, where what our liberal
- 4:30government is trying to do is actually declaring that certain passages of the scripture could
- 4:37be determined as hate speech.
- 4:40So for example, if you quoted Genesis where it says God created male and female, and somebody
- 4:45took offense to that, you could be accused of a hateful action towards them.
- 4:51And so the crazy thing about this is we already have hate speech laws in the sense that hate
- 4:58speech used to be, if I was to incite violence against someone, then, you know, you could consider
- 5:03that to be a hateful act.
- 5:05But now simply professing your own worldview could be considered a hateful act towards others.
- 5:11So we'll see how that plays out, you know, in the courts and so on.
- 5:17And so the main talk that I would do on a Sunday morning in a church, simply by quoting
- 5:21that verse, somebody could turn around and say, well, that's hateful towards men.
- 5:24They could, you know, try to present charges against me.
- 5:27So it's very interesting happening in the Western world.
- 5:30It is.
- 5:31And I just want to caution our viewers and listeners in America.
- 5:36What happens in Canada doesn't stay in Canada necessarily.
- 5:40And the elections have consequences.
- 5:43We have the opportunity to right now to share the gospel freely, but we saw what happened
- 5:48to Charlie Kirk.
- 5:50He was killed for his biblical worldview and his speech.
- 5:54We believe pretty much the same things.
- 5:57And we just have to continue to speak the truth no matter what, but we've got to get more
- 6:03Christians out to elect conservatives or Christian candidates, hopefully, so that we
- 6:08can continue to have these freedoms because it's just a matter of time or an election cycle
- 6:13that things could change.
- 6:15And that take that as a warning what's going on in Canada there.
- 6:18So okay, Cal.
- 6:19Now to, oh, did you want to comment on that before we move on?
- 6:21Yeah.
- 6:22One of the videos posted on our YouTube channel.
- 6:25I titled it, you know, time travel or something like that.
- 6:28And I was speaking at the Creation Museum in the US and that's how I started off talking
- 6:32to the audience.
- 6:33I said, you know, treat me like a time traveler.
- 6:36It is just down the road a good 10, 10 years from where you folks are right now.
- 6:40And if you look to, hey, they're just about another 10 years down the road from where we
- 6:44are here.
- 6:45So you're exactly right.
- 6:46You can tell, you know, what a society is going to be like typically based on what the
- 6:51public school system in that country is teaching at the present time.
- 6:54And then young people in vibe and then start to express in their worldview.
- 6:58So that's why I really appreciate the title of your entire program here world view matters.
- 7:03What you just shared, even it is sobering just thinking about, we know what our government
- 7:08run, antichrist school system is all about.
- 7:12And I'm saying there are some good teachers.
- 7:14I come from a family of teachers, but there are some good teachers in the system.
- 7:17But their hands are tied when it comes to the gospel.
- 7:20And though the truth of the biblical worldview, because of anything goes except biblical Christianity
- 7:25and our school system and more parents are catching on to that, but I think it's a little
- 7:28too late.
- 7:29All right.
- 7:30For today, Cal, I want to quote you.
- 7:34And then you set it up to when you and Ken Ham were out, you're on a speaking tour and
- 7:39you were in Calgary.
- 7:41And that conversation you had with professing believers, but I want to quote you.
- 7:44You say quote, if a spirit filled believer can pray to our Lord Jesus while believing
- 7:50his character is that of a loving creator who used infirmity, disease and death to create
- 7:59and called it very good, while healing those very same things because they are obviously
- 8:05bad.
- 8:06Well, he was incarnated.
- 8:08I believe your view of Christ is so severely compromised and completely inconsistent
- 8:14with scripture that logic will obviously not help you.
- 8:20And quote, it's pretty heavy and there's a lot to unpack in that cal.
- 8:25So let's just start with the speaking tour and the conversations you had and go ahead,
- 8:29take it.
- 8:30Sure.
- 8:31I just think a lot of people think that the ancestors and Genesis ministry, you guys talk
- 8:34about science and the Bible and the age of the earth.
- 8:37What about that?
- 8:38That doesn't have anything to do with the Jesus or the gospel or anything.
- 8:41And so it's making those connections with people that I think is important because as
- 8:44they said, all of our Christian doctrines are founded in Genesis.
- 8:47So if we can't trust that as plainly written, we're in trouble.
- 8:51So yeah, almost a month ago now, I was out in Calgary and Ken Hamid come up for a very
- 8:57large conference out there for Canada, anyway, about 1600 people.
- 9:00Very conservative group that was holding the conference and so Ken did several talks.
- 9:04I did a break out session.
- 9:06And at the end of one of his talks, we were doing a Q&A and I was standing here, Ken and
- 9:12these two young gentlemen came over, professing Christians, probably university age.
- 9:17And both of them were challenging him on biblical creation, young earth, et cetera.
- 9:22And so he was doing a great job as he always does, of course, giving them answers.
- 9:25But it didn't seem to matter what he said, you know, from what approach.
- 9:28And they were just, no, no, they would just be dismissive.
- 9:31And I could see him getting a little frustrated and he finally just said, you're not even looking
- 9:35for answers.
- 9:36I'm telling you about this and that.
- 9:39So I just said to them, I said, hey, gentlemen, you know, Mr. Hamid here's got to go grab
- 9:43some lunch now.
- 9:44But if you want to dialogue with me, I'd be great, you know, happy to do that, kind of
- 9:46gave him a break.
- 9:48And so finally, I ended up talking to this one fellow and really breaking it down for him
- 9:54as to why this is so important.
- 9:55So I said, okay, look, you believe in Jesus, your Christian, I'm not questioning that.
- 10:00I said, but let's look at a couple of things here, but the scripture is very clear.
- 10:05However, you take Genesis that at the end of the creation, God said everything He had
- 10:09created was very good.
- 10:11Now we know what that means.
- 10:12You know what good means, very good means.
- 10:14Now when Jesus was here doing his earthly ministry, he looked at Acts 1038, I think it is,
- 10:21where it says that Jesus of Nazareth was anointed by God and he went around doing good things
- 10:26and he was healing people and stuff.
- 10:27So even your non-Christian friends know what Jesus supposedly did, what he actually did.
- 10:33But you know, someone with a crippled hand, he healed that and the man couldn't stand
- 10:37and he healed the hips and all this kind of stuff.
- 10:39So infirmity, he healed infirmity.
- 10:42People with leprosy, he healed them of that, so he healed disease.
- 10:47He even brought a dead man back to life.
- 10:49So when Jesus was doing these good things, how do we know that they were good?
- 10:53Well, it's very simple.
- 10:54It's childish in a sense.
- 10:56What he fixed was bad.
- 10:58Everybody knows infirmity, disease and death are bad things and they came into the creation
- 11:04at a very specific point because God did not create with bad things, right?
- 11:09Everything he created was very good.
- 11:11After that, Adam fell and sin in the curse happened and that's why there's bad things
- 11:15in the world.
- 11:16If you can't explain that, you do not have an answer for theodicy.
- 11:20The number one philosophical objection to the Christian faith is, if you've got such
- 11:23a loving God, how come there's death and suffering in the world?
- 11:26Well, God didn't create death and suffering.
- 11:30So he agreed with all of this and so I went on and I said, okay, so what do you believe
- 11:34in with the age of the earth?
- 11:35Oh, the earth, billions of years old.
- 11:37Is it okay?
- 11:38Where do you put billions of years into the Bible?
- 11:40You can't put it in the time frame between when Adam and Eve are coming on the scene
- 11:44to, you know, and then we got a chronology up the way the Christ and back down again
- 11:48to prove the lineage and all that stuff.
- 11:50I said, and so he admitted, well, you'd have to put it in the six days of creation.
- 11:53You'd have to say those days aren't real days, etc.
- 11:56I said, okay.
- 11:57So the secular scientists are saying that the very rock layers we see around the world
- 12:03are the supposed evidence of billions of years of deposition, etc., you know, and so on.
- 12:10So I said, so you'd have to say the rock layers got laid down during the six days of creation
- 12:14then.
- 12:15He said, yeah.
- 12:16I said, okay.
- 12:17So what's in the rock layers?
- 12:19What's in the rock layers is a record of death, infirmity, and disease.
- 12:23We actually have a record of cancer in the fossil record.
- 12:28I said, so let's put all of these things together because in the book of Colossians, it actually
- 12:33says that Jesus is the creator, that all things were created by it.
- 12:38Based on what you've stated and the logical conclusions that come out of it, could you
- 12:43affirm this following statement?
- 12:46I believe Jesus used billions of years of death and suffering and disease like cancer
- 12:53to create and called it very good, all for Adam's sin.
- 13:00And he looked me in the eye and he said, yeah, I get it from that.
- 13:05And at that point, I just shook his hand and I said, hey, well, you know, it was great
- 13:08to talk to you and hope you have a great rest of the conference and I turn around and
- 13:11walk the way because at that point, what good is anything I'm going to say at that point
- 13:17is an apologist.
- 13:18It's not going to work.
- 13:20You've already proven that your view of Christ is that of a creator that would use cancer
- 13:27to create.
- 13:28Like this is one of God's good, creative acts, you know, everything did was very good
- 13:33at the end of the creation.
- 13:34Well, if you've already got cancer and death and so what exactly happened at the fall?
- 13:37Why are we praying for people in our congregations with cancer or that are infirm or sick or
- 13:43anything like that?
- 13:44If this is all part of God's creation.
- 13:46So the challenge is this young man is not some, you know, outlier, the vast majority
- 13:54of Christian leaders, people that we quote from pulpits and pastors quote all the time.
- 14:00If they haven't accepted full blown evolution, they sure have accepted millions of years.
- 14:05And so they may not have actually gone through this exercise and come to this conclusion.
- 14:09But that's the logical entailment of what they believe.
- 14:13And you've got people like William Lane, who's supposedly the greatest Christian apologies
- 14:16on the planet today, and he believes that God, he's evolution to create.
- 14:21And I quote him in one of my videos where he actually mocks the concept of biblical creation,
- 14:27creation next needle.
- 14:28He's talking about ducks and he goes, well, you know, that'd be like there's a pond there
- 14:32and all of a sudden ducks appear.
- 14:34And he goes, that seems smacks a little bit too much of magic to me.
- 14:39Oh my God.
- 14:40I'll tell you, brother, last time I heard anyone connecting magic with creation with some
- 14:45troll on my YouTube channel, some atheist saying, oh, you believe in the magic man in
- 14:49the sky.
- 14:50And here's William Lane Craig basically saying the same thing, mocking the one written
- 14:55scripture.
- 14:56So, you know, all of these things that many Christians of poo poo die, you guys are to,
- 15:02you know, you know, you know, you've said about this age of the earth thing.
- 15:05It's like, look, this all comes down to the gospel and the character of Christ.
- 15:11And so, you know, once you connect those dots, maybe you want to take a serious look at,
- 15:16you know, some of the scientists that we have on board and how we would explain these
- 15:20still called scientific issues that many Christians just believe, well, science is
- 15:24disproven to plane reading of the Bible.
- 15:25So we're just going to adopt evolution and millions of years and it doesn't really matter.
- 15:29So, yeah.
- 15:30So, yeah, it is.
- 15:33We've got a lot more to get to with Calvin Smith answers and Genesis Canada will break
- 15:37back on World View Matters.
- 15:39Introducing the World View Matters conference coming to Green Bay, Wisconsin may first and
- 15:44second 2026.
- 15:45Here are some of the featured speakers, Ken Michael, Olivier Melnick, Tim Chafee, Mark
- 15:53and Amber Archer, Laura Perry Smalls, Dr. Jake Jacobs, Jay Seagart, Gary Caw, Scott
- 16:01Sharer and Elijah Abraham.
- 16:04That's the World View Matters conference may first and second 2026, Green Bay, Wisconsin.
- 16:10So Calvin Smith, I want to get back to the vast time periods in Genesis that you and I would
- 16:18call a day.
- 16:21But before we do that, maybe answer for us how you think young people or someone
- 16:31comes to their conclusions that they have.
- 16:34And I want to just mention, if they're just using, if they're not just strictly going
- 16:38through the Bible and studying and interpreting properly, rightly dividing the word of truth,
- 16:43if they're watching that geo or the history channel, you're going to hear these narrators
- 16:47say billions of years ago, this happened and this happened.
- 16:51If you're going to believe that and a lot of people do and then you've got the government
- 16:56schools and what they teach.
- 16:58So where does, you said these two believers were younger or professing believers?
- 17:02Other than university?
- 17:04Yeah.
- 17:05So where do they get their beliefs?
- 17:08They go to me and you or to you and I, they go against really what Scripture teaches
- 17:14on creation?
- 17:15Well, it's always science over Scripture, right?
- 17:18Whatever the secular schools are presenting, that's what they're accepting as science and
- 17:23fact.
- 17:24And so, you know, really I've had these kind of dialogues for 25 years here, especially
- 17:29Canada, but, you know, with other places as well, because it always comes down to some
- 17:35kind of conversation like this, well, you know, Cal, I'm a Christian, but, you know,
- 17:41I'm well educated.
- 17:42I've gone to university, you know, I've got a doctorate or whatever like this.
- 17:46And it seems like in a bid for intellectual credibility amongst their unsafe family and
- 17:50friends, mostly.
- 17:52Um, you know, it's always like, well, you know, I mean, I believe in the Bible and I believe
- 17:56in Jesus, but, you know, I mean, Genesis, it's kind of talking snake in there.
- 18:00I mean, come on, it's just kind of, you know, Christian mythology.
- 18:05And it's like, okay, so what about this part over here a little while later in Scripture
- 18:09has got a talking donkey.
- 18:12What about this part over here where you've got a floating axe head, you ever tried the
- 18:16floating axe head?
- 18:18Because you fail every time because axes don't float unless the sovereign God of creation
- 18:25says this one's going to float because he's the creator of the heavens and the earth and
- 18:30has total control over whatever he wants to in his creation.
- 18:34So, you know, and over here, you've got a dead guy, a dead guy who comes back to life
- 18:38and a guy walks on water and it's not even frozen like it gets up here in Canada.
- 18:42So, exactly which portion of Scripture am I supposed to be embarrassed of, you know, because
- 18:48of so-called science?
- 18:50Because the same secular scientist that will mock, you know, six days, a young earth creation,
- 18:56no evolution, all that kind of stuff, you know, if you say, well, do you believe that Virgin
- 19:00human females give birth?
- 19:02No.
- 19:03Science is going to, you know, disprove, science is not going to support that.
- 19:07Do you believe dead people come back to life after three days?
- 19:09You know, it's just so absurd in my mind how Christians have compartmentalized, you know,
- 19:16their faith.
- 19:17It's like, sure, I know there are natural laws that the Lord has set up, that the world
- 19:21runs on, et cetera, but there are also supernatural events, including Christ's death and resurrection,
- 19:27which is what our faith is based upon, which is all supernatural.
- 19:31So, I've never really understood it, especially coming from an atheistic background, finally
- 19:36getting saved.
- 19:37And I remember, you know, being handed a Bible at this event where I got saved, and I was
- 19:44so confused, really, that first year of my, you know, becoming a Christian, because I'd
- 19:49never gone to church or read the Bible or anything.
- 19:52And so I started reading the Bible, and I was joked with people, guess where I started?
- 19:56Genesis.
- 19:57Because every other book I'd read, I'd started at the beginning, I didn't know, I wasn't
- 20:01going to stop to start in John or Matthew, you know, and I read, and it's like, oh,
- 20:06God could in six days and rest on the seventh, okay?
- 20:09Like that's the renewal of your mind.
- 20:11I went from being an evolution believing atheist to trusting in our Lord Jesus, and I was
- 20:15just like, okay, well, this is what God did, and, you know, and I didn't know how he
- 20:19did it, and I didn't have a polygetic explanations and all that kind of stuff, but I trusted
- 20:23it on faith because I trusted salvation on faith.
- 20:26So, yeah, it's a conundrum.
- 20:29So, so, so, kill, the word day, as used in Genesis, where others would interpret these vast
- 20:39time, alleged vast time periods, doesn't that word, the same word, I guess, is it in Hebrew?
- 20:46Correct me if I'm wrong.
- 20:47The word day continues to appear in different places in the Old Testament possible, the
- 20:52New Testament as well.
- 20:54Well, in, it's a Hebrew word, obviously, yum, it's the word for day.
- 20:59The typical way people will set the supples, they say, well, you know, the word day in Genesis
- 21:02convenes something other than the literal day, and I'm like, yep, that's not an argument.
- 21:10That's like me saying to you, hey, you know, the word day in English can mean something
- 21:15other than a literal day, David, okay, that's not an argument.
- 21:21The argument would be, what does the word day mean in context in Genesis, then you can
- 21:29get into the argument?
- 21:30Because if I say to you, well, you know, back in my father's day, it took three days to
- 21:33drive to Nova Scotia during the day, so they're confused right now, back in my father's
- 21:39day.
- 21:40Is that a literal day?
- 21:41No, it's when my dad was young and he had peace passed on now, but, you know, it took
- 21:44three days to drive to Nova Scotia, it was those literal days, yeah, during the day,
- 21:48is that a 24 hour day?
- 21:49No, that's the daylight portion of the day.
- 21:51So we, we understand common linguistic convention.
- 21:54Yeah.
- 21:55Well, if you look at the Old Testament, the word yom is used over 2,000 times.
- 22:01And wherever it is linked with a number and the word evening or morning, it is always
- 22:07considered a literal 24 hour day or approximately 20 day.
- 22:11So then you go to Genesis and the evening and the morning with the first day, evening
- 22:16and the morning with the second day, evening and the morning with the, I mean, it's so
- 22:21plain to see what it actually says.
- 22:24And then you hop over to Exodus to 2011, for in six days, the Lord created the heavens
- 22:29earth, the sea and all the others in them.
- 22:31And he, the Lord states that he says, this is the way you're going to work, you know,
- 22:36your work week because of the way I create it.
- 22:39So everybody knew what Genesis meant up until the boat, the mid, you know, 1800s.
- 22:47And that's when Charles Lyle and, you know, started to populate millions of years and
- 22:52that started to go mainstream in secular science.
- 22:54And then, you know, Charles Darwin publishes origin of species.
- 22:58And all of a sudden the church is like, ooh, we've got to keep up with science.
- 23:01Maybe we need to change what the Bible plainly says.
- 23:03Well, you've got the poor wagon, the dog at that point.
- 23:07It's supposed to be the authority of the word of God, not the authority of it.
- 23:11So because now look at where we are, but you don't know how many genders there are.
- 23:17Yeah.
- 23:18The scientific thing or is that, you know, anyway, well, I love, I'm just going back
- 23:25to what you said in my father's day.
- 23:27It took three days to drive the, you know, that's such a distance.
- 23:31That's a great example of using day in different ways.
- 23:36And then the one you said morning and evening, it's hard.
- 23:39To me, Kale, I guess I just take the Bible so literally it's hard to misinterpret.
- 23:45To for me, it's hard to misinterpret day, evening and morning or day and night.
- 23:53I think when people say the word literal too, they sometimes misinterpret what the biblical
- 23:58creationists would say, we've never actually said that we take the Bible literally.
- 24:04Because if I took the Bible literally, I would think Jesus was a door.
- 24:07You know, he's got hinges and a door knob and stuff like that.
- 24:09It's like, obviously there's poetic, there's analogies, there's, you know, aerables, all
- 24:15that kind of stuff.
- 24:16What we say is that we take the Bible as plainly written.
- 24:20So even a parable has a plain meaning, even though it might have symbolic usages of language
- 24:25and stuff like that.
- 24:26But when it comes down to word usage in Hebrew, for example, you know, it's like I said
- 24:33before, it's not, oh, it can mean other things.
- 24:35Well, of course, most words can mean different things than, you know, whatever the main meaning
- 24:40of it is.
- 24:41But that's not an argument in itself.
- 24:43And so I've kind of, well, I mean, you do want to walk through these arguments with people,
- 24:48especially people who want to know the answers.
- 24:51But with most Christians now that have accepted this idea, just say, okay, well, let's say
- 24:56you're right in the word day, isn't day.
- 24:57That means there are millions of years.
- 24:59That means that those six-time periods, that's where all the millions of years go.
- 25:03That means the rock layers were laid down during those millions of years.
- 25:06That means Jesus used death, suffering, pain, and disease to create and called it very
- 25:09good.
- 25:10Is that what you believe?
- 25:12Like just let them run with the narrative.
- 25:14Okay, maybe you're right.
- 25:15Go ahead.
- 25:16Maybe the day is no literal day.
- 25:18That means Jesus used cancer to create.
- 25:20You go, you cool with that?
- 25:21Because that's what it comes down to.
- 25:23It's a matter of biblical authority.
- 25:25Is it man's word or God's word?
- 25:28But you've seen it.
- 25:29It's not as gone to university.
- 25:30I would estimate.
- 25:31And somewhere in his mind, it's just like, well, it doesn't all have to make sense.
- 25:35And they don't even teach logic in school anymore.
- 25:39And I think they should be more in churches, to be honest.
- 25:42That's the years we are.
- 25:45You know?
- 25:46Well, it's critical thinking is not taught really in schools, and that's a problem.
- 25:52So when kids get older, they only absorb what they're told in their class, and especially
- 25:58when they get to university, oh my goodness.
- 26:00So I like what you said, though, that if you put science above scripture, then you're
- 26:06thinking, well, maybe we need to change the scripture.
- 26:09No, that is our final authority.
- 26:12Yeah.
- 26:13And it's not science in the way people think of it.
- 26:15Right now we're communicating through, you know, many means of scientific research that
- 26:21were repeatable, observable, they were testable, right, all that kind of stuff.
- 26:25When you're talking about what's something happened in the past, that's a completely different
- 26:28type of science.
- 26:30That's historical science.
- 26:31It's like forensic.
- 26:32You walk into a room and there's a dead body.
- 26:34No one observed it.
- 26:35You can't set up an experiment to repeat it over and over again.
- 26:38You've got to kind of guess at what happened.
- 26:40You can look at scientific facts, but facts get interpreted, right?
- 26:45So it's not the same type of science people have, well, science is proven that water boils
- 26:49at 100 degrees Celsius at sea level.
- 26:51Yes, because you can set up an experiment and repeat it over and over again.
- 26:55You can't dig out bones out of the ground with little tags on the end of them saying,
- 26:59hi, I'm 65 million years old.
- 27:01That's an interpretation.
- 27:03I would interpret.
- 27:04Apostle is saying, no, that got buried about 40, 400 years ago in a big flood, just like
- 27:09it says here in Genesis.
- 27:10So, you know, we're not anti science.
- 27:13We have PhD science.
- 27:14Right.
- 27:15It's their biggest truth.
- 27:16Right.
- 27:17Science just means knowledge.
- 27:18So I do want to just thank you.
- 27:21This is a great topic to dive into today, because people need more information on this
- 27:26so we can know how to respond like we should.
- 27:29And I want to just send you again, friends, to YouTube, the answers Canada page on YouTube.
- 27:35And then you can find Cal Smith on Harbinger's Daily and make sure you go to answersengenesis.ca
- 27:42as well as his Facebook page, Calvin Smith, AIG, Canada.
- 27:49Brother, thanks for your time.
- 27:50Happy New Year.
- 27:51We'll talk to you again soon, Lord willing.
- 27:53Thank you.
