- 0:00Speaker 1: News, weather, and talk station, 570 WKBN. All right, back
- 0:05Speaker 1: with Rich News Radio, 570 WKBN. From an economic standpoint, though,
- 0:09Speaker 1: everything that Frank said at the beginning, I am in
- 0:11Speaker 1: total agreement with.
- 0:13Speaker 2: And the problem is, I think if we didn't start
- 0:16Speaker 2: the war, and you didn't have this gas spike and
- 0:18Speaker 2: all the interruptions it's causing globally, because everything's interconnected now.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Nobody can do it on their own anymore. You need
- 0:26Speaker 3: the rest of the world. There's always something somewhere in
- 0:28Speaker 3: the world that you need that if it goes on short,
- 0:31Speaker 3: it affects all of us. But without that, don't start
- 0:34Speaker 3: this war, and I think the economy is probably hitting
- 0:37Speaker 3: on all cylinders because if you take the gas inflation out,
- 0:40Speaker 3: a lot of the other inflation has actually come down.
- 0:45Speaker 3: If you read what the Fed is putting out and
- 0:47Speaker 3: what some of the other economists are putting out, The
- 0:51Speaker 3: underlying core inflation actually isn't that bad, but you go
- 0:54Speaker 3: to the gas pump, you go to the grocery store,
- 0:56Speaker 3: tell people that. They believe what their eyes tell them.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Now, I don't necessarily agree with that statement when they
- 1:03Speaker 1: just said it was 3.4%, 3.5%. That's on top of– see,
- 1:08Speaker 1: people fail to realize this is on top of the
- 1:10Speaker 1: inflation that's already there. It just keeps building on top
- 1:15Speaker 1: and on top, and it becomes more and more and more.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I mean, everywhere I look, contrary to what you say,
- 1:26Speaker 1: insurance costs more. Like I say a million times, my
- 1:30Speaker 1: electric has doubled. Natural gas costs more. Car insurance costs more.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Food costs more. Gasoline costs more. Bob Dieter tells you
- 1:40Speaker 1: all the time on how the price of a furnace
- 1:43Speaker 1: and air conditioning keeps going up.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Yeah, but how much of that is regulation? You can't
- 1:49Speaker 3: use R-134 or anything anymore because it's supposed to be..
- 1:52Speaker 1: Well, some of it is, but some of it is
- 1:54Speaker 1: their costs have gone up as well. I mean, the
- 1:57Speaker 1: shipping costs, building costs, manufacturing costs. I mean, if you're
- 2:02Speaker 1: asking me, do I think Trump had things going in
- 2:04Speaker 1: the right direction before the war? Yes. Do I think
- 2:07Speaker 1: the war has changed everything and put it in reverse? Yes.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I don't think it's that good at all right now
- 2:16Speaker 1: because of this.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Did you read that Wall Street Journal article I sent
- 2:21Speaker 3: you last night? I think Bennett Facon at the Wall
- 2:27Speaker 3: Street Journal was talking about how Iran's doubling down. Because
- 2:32Speaker 3: Iran fully believes that we will capitulate and pull out
- 2:37Speaker 3: and they will win. And it's probably actually going to
- 2:39Speaker 3: strengthen them in the long run. If we do, we've
- 2:42Speaker 3: got bad choices. We pull out now. We look weak
- 2:45Speaker 3: in front of the rest of the world. We look
- 2:47Speaker 3: like the paper tiger everybody thinks we are. If we escalate,
- 2:52Speaker 3: they're going to start hitting the rest of the Gulf
- 2:53Speaker 3: nations and start taking out water supplies and refineries and
- 2:57Speaker 3: stuff in Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf states.
- 3:01Speaker 3: So there's no good way to get out of this.
- 3:04Speaker 3: He's in a pickle, and I have no idea how
- 3:06Speaker 3: we get out of this from here.
- 3:09Speaker 1: There's the problem right there. Now what do you do?
- 3:16Speaker 3: Because if you leave, you've actually just made Iran a
- 3:19Speaker 3: lot stronger than they were before the war. I think
- 3:23Speaker 3: eventually he's always said it's time to start hitting the
- 3:25Speaker 3: water supply. You can't say that five times and not
- 3:29Speaker 3: do it because then they don't believe you. But I
- 3:32Speaker 3: think if you went over, they don't produce enough domestic
- 3:35Speaker 3: gasoline to power their country. You take out their gasoline refinery,
- 3:39Speaker 3: you start taking out some of their water supply, take
- 3:41Speaker 3: out their electricity, see how fast they rethink their obstinacy to,
- 3:48Speaker 3: you know, our attacks. I think they would probably be
- 3:51Speaker 3: a little more conciliatory and more apt to negotiate. But
- 3:56Speaker 3: right now they think they're winning. And in some way,
- 3:59Speaker 3: I don't know, it's hard to say they're not.
- 4:02Speaker 1: It's a mess, and I don't see it getting better.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I mean, I just don't see it getting better.
- 4:09Speaker 3: You know, I love all these people that say this
- 4:11Speaker 3: is a war crime, that's a war crime. When you
- 4:12Speaker 3: go to war, I think it was Bombs Away LeMay,
- 4:16Speaker 3: Curtis LeMay, who did the napalm bombing of Tokyo and
- 4:20Speaker 3: the Japanese cities. And he flat out said, if we
- 4:22Speaker 3: would have lost the war, I fully expect I would
- 4:25Speaker 3: have been tried as a war criminal. Because he incinerated
- 4:29Speaker 3: hundreds of thousands of Japanese people. with napalm so you
- 4:34Speaker 3: know but you can't let that bother you when you
- 4:36Speaker 3: when you're at war you fight the war and you
- 4:38Speaker 3: throw everything you have at him and if if you
- 4:41Speaker 3: know some of it may be war crimes but it's
- 4:43Speaker 3: only a war crime if you lose well then the
- 4:47Speaker 3: other thing i think trump has to really worry about
- 4:50Speaker 3: is those they're going to try and assassinate him and
- 4:53Speaker 3: probably come after his family they've they've stated that you
- 4:57Speaker 3: better watch what he's doing because they they want they
- 5:00Speaker 3: want to take him out.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I don't know what to believe anymore. I'll tell you that.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I don't know what's fact or what's fiction and what's
- 5:06Speaker 1: propaganda and what's not. I'll just put it that way.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I just don't know. But we shall see. All right, Rich.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Thank you. Rich, The Pharmacist, NewsRadio 570, WKVN, and Ron Furb, 3.30,
- 5:20Speaker 1: back with more from the Kingdom of Mahoney. NewsRadio 570, WKVN.
- 5:27Speaker 4: More rain falling on central Ohio over the weekend. Governor
- 5:30Speaker 4: Mike DeWine freeing up more state aid to help folks
- 5:33Speaker 4: in Morgan, Muskingum, and Perry counties continue to clean up.
- 5:37Speaker 4: New Lexington Fire Chief Jim Fain says many residents had
- 5:40Speaker 4: to be evacuated. Over 50 people had to be rescued
- 5:42Speaker 4: by boat. In Sainsville, a man was killed by a
- 5:45Speaker 4: falling tree. A 19-year-old man is due to be arraigned
- 5:49Speaker 4: in Lorain County following a shooting at an Airbnb house
- 5:52Speaker 4: party in Lorain that left two teens dead. Alexandra Gibbons
- 5:56Speaker 4: is facing charges that include felonious assault, among others. The
- 6:00Speaker 4: victims were 18 and 17 years old. A hotel fire
- 6:04Speaker 4: early this morning left the building severely damaged happened in
- 6:07Speaker 4: Elyria just off the Ohio Turnpike. The hotel was still
- 6:10Speaker 4: under construction, said to be near completion. No injuries reported.
- 6:14Speaker 4: I'm Brian Engel.

- 6:22Speaker 1: Download the app.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Free.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Never sounded so good.
- 6:25Speaker 1: A to Z depends. Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 6:30Speaker 1: All right, and you're on the air.
- 6:34Speaker 4: Hold on.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It's JJ.
- 6:37Speaker 6: Good.
- 6:38Speaker 5: Good.
- 6:38Speaker 7: How was your weekend?
- 6:41Speaker 1: It seems like they fly by to me.
- 6:43Speaker 8: Yeah, I do.
- 6:45Speaker 6: I'm not a big fan of Sundays for personal reasons.
- 6:48Speaker 6: I have family things, but Saturdays is always my favorite.
- 6:51Speaker 6: I think for most people, Saturdays are their favorite day. But, yeah,
- 6:56Speaker 6: just listening to you guys, and I got out of
- 7:01Speaker 6: the hospital a little bit ago.
- 7:02Speaker 1: What were you in there for?
- 7:06Speaker 6: Well, the other day I was... I ordered something in
- 7:11Speaker 6: the mail, and... my wife got it. It was, you know,
- 7:15Speaker 6: one of the, you know, and she opened up and
- 7:17Speaker 6: it was, I ordered a from 2028 hat. And, um,
- 7:22Speaker 6: she just said, you know, that was pretty much it
- 7:24Speaker 6: for her. And so she, uh, behind my back, she called, uh,
- 7:29Speaker 6: It's a Republican rehab place that reprograms you for being
- 7:33Speaker 6: a Republican. So she sent me there for three days.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I want to make sure I get this straight. I mean,
- 7:39Speaker 1: because obviously people who have followed along, I mean, this
- 7:42Speaker 1: is somewhat shocking. J.J., the liberal, of course, had went
- 7:47Speaker 1: in and he got like some electric shock therapy, very
- 7:50Speaker 1: similar to one flew over the cuckoo's nest therapy. very
- 7:55Speaker 1: similar to that type of situation. Picture JJ as the
- 7:59Speaker 1: Jack Nicholson character, if you will. And there was this
- 8:04Speaker 1: really big tall guy there too. His name was Jim,
- 8:08Speaker 1: if I'm not mistaken, but it was very, very tall
- 8:11Speaker 1: guy named Jim. But anyway, it's JJ. The liberal was
- 8:14Speaker 1: there and they did like some type of shock therapy
- 8:18Speaker 1: for you. And the next thing you know, the next, uh,
- 8:22Speaker 1: he realized that, uh, he had been, you become a Trumpster, right?
- 8:27Speaker 1: I mean, you know, like you, uh, all of a
- 8:29Speaker 1: sudden it was like, yeah, you're happy. Trump's your man. And, uh,
- 8:35Speaker 1: right after the therapy, you were calling me and JJ,
- 8:37Speaker 1: the Trumpster, you're very upset with some of the negative
- 8:40Speaker 1: things people were saying about Trump on the program. And
- 8:44Speaker 1: so you're saying that you ordered, uh, you ordered a
- 8:47Speaker 1: hat and an, Unfortunately, you didn't get there in time
- 8:51Speaker 1: to open it up. I mean, your wife opened your package.
- 8:54Speaker 1: It came in and your wife, you had a Trump
- 8:58Speaker 1: 2028 hat that you had ordered since your therapy. And
- 9:02Speaker 1: your wife was very upset. And she tried to try
- 9:06Speaker 1: to send you back to the institution to get you deprogrammed.
- 9:11Speaker 5: No, she succeeded.
- 9:12Speaker 6: She got me in my sleep. I was sleeping next to,
- 9:15Speaker 6: you know, a couple of guys with white shirts on.
- 9:18Speaker 6: You know, next thing you know, I got my arms
- 9:21Speaker 6: tied up around my back and they're hauling me off.
- 9:24Speaker 6: The neighbors didn't help me because they're obviously a bunch
- 9:27Speaker 6: of liberals. So they let me be dragged away like that,
- 9:30Speaker 6: kicking and fighting and whatever. So I was quite upset
- 9:34Speaker 6: with it. And when she saw the hat, she said,
- 9:36Speaker 6: this is not the person I married, JJ.
- 9:39Speaker 1: So you went through some type of reversal.
- 9:43Speaker 8: It's a reversal.
- 9:45Speaker 6: So now, I shouldn't be saying it on air. I
- 9:47Speaker 6: should actually put me on hold. And I tell you,
- 9:50Speaker 6: but she's, I've already re-called my doctor. My doctor, what
- 9:55Speaker 6: was it?
- 9:57Speaker 1: No, Vinnie Voomba.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Dr.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Vinnie Voomba.
- 9:59Speaker 6: Yeah, I called. and this morning without her knowing, I
- 10:02Speaker 6: rescheduled my reschedule. So now I go in.
- 10:04Speaker 5: J.J.
- 10:06Speaker 6: I rescheduled. So for Wednesday, I'm going in Wednesday to
- 10:10Speaker 6: get my reprogramming reprogrammed. So then I can as a
- 10:15Speaker 6: Republican and hopefully I just got to learn how to
- 10:19Speaker 6: deal with her now so I don't have to. They'll overly,
- 10:22Speaker 6: you know, say my support for Trump. You know, I
- 10:23Speaker 6: can just kind of hee-haw about it, and then hopefully
- 10:26Speaker 6: I can play the role that she thinks that I've
- 10:28Speaker 6: been reprogrammed from my initial reprogram. So she thinks she's smart,
- 10:34Speaker 6: but I'm.
- 10:35Speaker 1: A little bit sharper. This is very confusing.
- 10:37Speaker 6: Hopefully nobody will say nothing to my wife when I'm speaking.
- 10:39Speaker 6: I shouldn't be telling this because now I've... Let the
- 10:41Speaker 6: cat out of the bag, so to speak.
- 10:43Speaker 1: But that's a lot of..
- 10:44Speaker 6: It's not a good experience. It really wasn't going to...
- 10:47Speaker 6: When we programmed from the time that I was happy
- 10:49Speaker 6: as a Trumpster now to..
- 10:52Speaker 1: Uh, you're miserable again. You're miserable again.
- 10:55Speaker 6: It's two o'clock after I was out of there. I,
- 10:57Speaker 6: you know, I cursed everybody that was all the doctors
- 11:00Speaker 6: and everybody. I cursed him on the way out and
- 11:02Speaker 6: kind of, uh, you know, yeah. It said 2028 with
- 11:05Speaker 6: my hand up, you know.
- 11:06Speaker 1: And they, so when you, so when you were walking
- 11:09Speaker 1: out to, you were basically, as I was reported to me,
- 11:13Speaker 1: you had told those doctors, they were all making too
- 11:15Speaker 1: much money and it should be redistributed to people that
- 11:17Speaker 1: were less fortunate.
- 11:18Speaker 6: Uh, Well, of course, the people that were in there
- 11:21Speaker 6: are like myself. I was kind of complaining about that,
- 11:24Speaker 6: so they gave me an extra dose of shock and
- 11:26Speaker 6: kind of raised it from about 2,000 votes. I almost
- 11:27Speaker 6: bit my tongue off. I had to watch when they
- 11:38Speaker 6: were in control. I couldn't insult them like I did.
- 11:41Speaker 6: So I just waited until afterwards, and I was walking out,
- 11:43Speaker 6: and I was free man, and I kind of laid
- 11:45Speaker 6: into them. So right now... You know, split in half. Oh, man.
- 11:59Speaker 1: It's almost like.
- 12:00Speaker 6: Myself as a liberal and a Republican.
- 12:02Speaker 1: So it's my God, you're getting almost electrocuted. It's almost
- 12:06Speaker 1: like you're in the electric chair.
- 12:09Speaker 6: Yeah, I can't eat anything. I can't watch. I can't
- 12:11Speaker 6: bite down on food because then my teeth kind of
- 12:13Speaker 6: lock up. So I don't know if that's part of
- 12:15Speaker 6: that continuous. And my hair's falling out. I don't have
- 12:18Speaker 6: that much hair in the first place. And that's falling out.
- 12:20Speaker 6: So it's got to be that or, you know, I
- 12:22Speaker 6: can't imagine anything else. It's just not a coincidence.
- 12:25Speaker 1: I don't understand that because when I saw you, you
- 12:28Speaker 1: had plenty of hair. And it was all gray. I mean,
- 12:30Speaker 1: did the electric shock therapy?
- 12:32Speaker 6: I had a full head of hair. Now it's gray.
- 12:35Speaker 6: And I've got half of it. So at least it's
- 12:38Speaker 6: pulling out from the back and I'm not getting it
- 12:40Speaker 6: down the middle or anything where it's too obvious and
- 12:41Speaker 6: I have to get a rug.
- 12:43Speaker 1: So it's coming from the back because of the electric shock?
- 12:47Speaker 6: Yeah, well, I mean, I've gone through numerous ones. I
- 12:49Speaker 6: think I've gone through, I mean, almost, I don't even
- 12:52Speaker 6: remember now, at least six or, I don't know, quite
- 12:54Speaker 6: a few. And I had one day, I didn't even
- 12:57Speaker 6: realize I called you that day. I was off in
- 13:00Speaker 6: a kind of, I had put away, you know, a
- 13:02Speaker 6: couple of drinks there, and I didn't even realize until
- 13:04Speaker 6: my wife said one of her friends was... You don't
- 13:07Speaker 6: wonder what happened to me if I was drinking in
- 13:10Speaker 6: front of a kid and stuff. So I didn't even realize.
- 13:13Speaker 6: So I obviously embarrassed myself there that day calling in.
- 13:17Speaker 1: So like if I say, some days I don't know
- 13:20Speaker 1: who the hell I'm talking to. By the way.
- 13:22Speaker 8: I don't know who you're talking.
- 13:23Speaker 6: To either there, pal.
- 13:24Speaker 1: By the way, isn't it sad to me? I don't
- 13:29Speaker 1: know why. It's sad to me because you're over in the...
- 13:32Speaker 1: Cornersburg area. They're ripping down that Rite Aid building today.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I mean, so you had that beautiful, it was close,
- 13:39Speaker 1: that beautiful Rite Aid right there in the corner, right?
- 13:43Speaker 1: I mean, nice building, not that old.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 13:49Speaker 1: And so today, only in America do we take a
- 13:53Speaker 1: building like that that's not very old. We're ripping it
- 13:55Speaker 1: down to make more garbage to put somewhere. This building
- 13:59Speaker 1: isn't that old. We'll rip it all down, and we'll
- 14:03Speaker 1: take it off to a dump where it'll sit forever,
- 14:06Speaker 1: and then we'll build a Sheetz gas station there. We
- 14:08Speaker 1: don't repurpose anything anymore. I mean, it's such a damn shame.
- 14:13Speaker 6: And the thing is, we don't even, and I'm going to, obviously,
- 14:16Speaker 6: I'm going to cry. It's, I'm like five houses from
- 14:19Speaker 6: Bright Agent, Ron. I'm going to put it that way.
- 14:22Speaker 6: And we, my wife and I were talking and she
- 14:24Speaker 6: said that, you know, she found out about it being
- 14:27Speaker 6: turned into the, where's the speedway we said?
- 14:30Speaker 3: Sheets.
- 14:30Speaker 1: No, it's going to be a Sheets.
- 14:33Speaker 7: Pardon?
- 14:33Speaker 1: It's going to be a Sheets.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:35Speaker 6: And I told her, I was like, you know, there's
- 14:37Speaker 6: a couple of small businesses around here that the guy
- 14:39Speaker 6: across the street, that is a shell.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I think it's shell.
- 14:41Speaker 6: He's been there for years. That fixes tires and stuff.
- 14:44Speaker 6: This is going to take business away from them. There's
- 14:46Speaker 6: the one store right up on, um, um.
- 14:51Speaker 1: There's a shell station right up there.
- 14:53Speaker 5: No, no, no.
- 14:56Speaker 1: There's a shell station right across from the..
- 14:59Speaker 6: There's Canfield Road.
- 15:01Speaker 5: There's Tippecanoe.
- 15:02Speaker 6: And then once it changes over, I think it goes
- 15:04Speaker 6: to Meridian.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Yeah, but on Meridian, you've got the shell station with
- 15:07Speaker 1: the convenience store. You also have the guy with that
- 15:10Speaker 1: golf station that's been there forever.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 15:12Speaker 1: And now you're going to have a Sheetz there. And
- 15:17Speaker 1: it's not a very big piece of property, but Sheetz
- 15:21Speaker 1: builds beautiful stores, make no mistake. I mean, they build
- 15:26Speaker 1: really nice places. So, I mean, I'm sure that they'll
- 15:28Speaker 1: do well and they'll be busy. But I always look
- 15:32Speaker 1: when they're ripping down any of these buildings that aren't
- 15:36Speaker 1: that old. I just think it's almost like a tragedy.
- 15:39Speaker 1: It's sad that we make garbage so easily out of...
- 15:43Speaker 1: out of a place. I don't know that it could
- 15:45Speaker 1: have been repurposed or not, but it's needless to say.
- 15:48Speaker 6: Sure, I'm looking at it right now on my driveway,
- 15:50Speaker 6: and I'm looking down, and I see the big, there's the,
- 15:52Speaker 6: what is it, that one up there, what it's called.
- 15:56Speaker 6: You could actually listen.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Well, you ought to go up there and watch it. Yeah,
- 16:00Speaker 1: you ought to go up and watch it. It'd be
- 16:01Speaker 1: kind of cool.
- 16:02Speaker 6: Well, I don't like it for the simple reason is this.
- 16:06Speaker 6: About three weeks ago, when I watch my son during
- 16:09Speaker 6: the day, my wife comes home later on in the day,
- 16:11Speaker 6: and then she'll spend time with him, and then he
- 16:13Speaker 6: usually goes to sleep. And when he goes to sleep,
- 16:15Speaker 6: everything's locked up because of him being on the spectrum.
- 16:18Speaker 6: I've got to worry about him trying to get out.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Right.
- 16:20Speaker 6: So what I do is I sit in my garage,
- 16:21Speaker 6: and I do my painting at that time. I never sleep, Ron.
- 16:24Speaker 6: I sleep maybe two hours a night. And I'll do
- 16:26Speaker 6: my painting. And I sit up there and I watch
- 16:28Speaker 6: the house and the neighbor's house. And anyway, my neighbor
- 16:31Speaker 6: across the street, they're wonderful people. They helped me one time.
- 16:33Speaker 6: I was attacked by a pit bull when I first
- 16:35Speaker 6: moved here. And the guy over there drove through the
- 16:39Speaker 6: pit bull away from me so I can make it
- 16:41Speaker 6: to my home. I could explain to you sometimes. I
- 16:46Speaker 6: still have nightmares where the dog's teeth are like jaws.
- 16:49Speaker 6: And James Bond, you know who Big Jaws was?
- 16:51Speaker 3: He had the teeth.
- 16:53Speaker 6: Every time I have a nightmare that it's coming to
- 16:55Speaker 6: me and he doesn't have regular teeth, he has those
- 16:58Speaker 6: metal blades as teeth. And he saved my life, basically.
- 17:02Speaker 6: And so anyway, they called me at like 3 o'clock.
- 17:04Speaker 1: In the morning.
- 17:04Speaker 6: I'm like, what the hell? And they go like, yeah,
- 17:06Speaker 6: this is so-and-so across the street. We had somebody knocking
- 17:09Speaker 6: on our back door saying, let me in, let me in.
- 17:11Speaker 6: Somebody's trying to get me. And I'm like, what? So
- 17:13Speaker 6: I'm like, I go, I'm surprised that that's in person
- 17:15Speaker 6: because my door's up. You drive by me, you're going
- 17:17Speaker 6: to see me in my garage. And I'm like, so
- 17:21Speaker 6: now I'm worried about... People coming around to my home. Like,
- 17:25Speaker 6: I'm out there all the time. Now I've got, like,
- 17:26Speaker 6: I had to take care of my defense.
- 17:30Speaker 5: I'll say it that way.
- 17:31Speaker 6: In the garage now, so if anything happens, I see anybody.
- 17:34Speaker 6: And now that this is going to be here. By
- 17:38Speaker 6: just an everyday occurrence, gas stations and community places like
- 17:43Speaker 6: that are bad news. There's bad news happening there.
- 17:46Speaker 1: That won't be bad news. I mean, I think you'll— I.
- 17:50Speaker 8: Have to prepare that it's going to be bad news.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 17:52Speaker 1: I can assure you of this. Let me put you
- 17:55Speaker 1: at calm. I will calm you down. I will calm
- 17:58Speaker 1: you down. I'm sure it's going to be beautiful and
- 18:01Speaker 1: a great asset to your neighborhood. My point was it's
- 18:04Speaker 1: just sad whenever I see these buildings rip down. But
- 18:08Speaker 1: it's progress. But it won't be bad news. It'll be positive.
- 18:13Speaker 1: It'll be a beautiful store. I like sheets. It'll be
- 18:17Speaker 1: a beautiful store, and I think you'll enjoy it. So
- 18:19Speaker 1: don't worry about it. All right.
- 18:22Speaker 6: All right. Anyway, thanks for listening.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 18:24Speaker 8: So I'll call you on Wednesday when.
- 18:26Speaker 6: I get my reprogram for my reprogram.
- 18:29Speaker 1: I don't know who I'm talking to anymore. I don't
- 18:30Speaker 1: know if he's a liberal. He's a Trumpster. He's worried
- 18:35Speaker 1: about a gas. He's worried about a gas station being
- 18:38Speaker 1: built in this neighborhood. Oh, my. He's got so much
- 18:41Speaker 1: going on. You're on the air.
- 18:43Speaker 5: How about when they tore down Cheddar's down there by
- 18:45Speaker 5: the mall and they opened up that B. James Brewhouse?
- 18:48Speaker 5: That building was brand new.
- 18:50Speaker 1: That building, I bet you that wasn't even five years old,
- 18:54Speaker 1: was it?
- 18:54Speaker 5: Not even that.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and it was beautiful. I mean, that was a
- 18:59Speaker 1: beautiful building. And then they ripped that down. You're right.
- 19:02Speaker 1: That was another one that really bothered me. And it
- 19:05Speaker 1: was like... Why do we– you can't just move your
- 19:10Speaker 1: BJ's whatever, which is a nice place, into that facility
- 19:13Speaker 1: and use that. It's got to have your look to it.
- 19:16Speaker 1: It's just like we make so much damn trash anymore.
- 19:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 5: How about the other deal about Wildwood Drive and Glenwood Avenue?
- 19:24Speaker 5: They're putting a roundabout in.
- 19:28Speaker 1: I see that. Isn't that a dandy? I'm trying to
- 19:32Speaker 1: figure that out altogether. Do you find it to be
- 19:35Speaker 1: that busy down there? Because I never did.
- 19:37Speaker 2: No, no.
- 19:38Speaker 5: My uncle used to live on Wildwood Drive. I went
- 19:40Speaker 5: down there many a time to see him, and there's
- 19:43Speaker 5: no traffic down there whatsoever.
- 19:45Speaker 1: It seems to me, based on my observations, if you
- 19:48Speaker 1: go down there, that really interferes. with a lot of
- 19:50Speaker 1: those people's lots, doesn't it, on the corner?
- 19:53Speaker 5: No, I think there's a couple empty lots on that
- 19:55Speaker 5: corner there because there's a pile of lines down there.
- 19:57Speaker 5: I believe. I might be wrong.
- 19:59Speaker 1: No, no, you're right. There's two empty lots on one side,
- 20:01Speaker 1: but on the other side, there are homes.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I mean, it's just... I don't know what the point
- 20:07Speaker 1: of that is.
- 20:07Speaker 5: Well, get your buddy to Fabio and see what he
- 20:10Speaker 5: says about it.
- 20:11Speaker 1: I mean, I just don't know.
- 20:12Speaker 5: I want to talk about national now.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Okay, the big roundabout stuff. It's like roundabout craziness is
- 20:18Speaker 1: going on anymore. I never really had a– I must
- 20:21Speaker 1: confess to everybody. I must confess. I never had a
- 20:24Speaker 1: problem with the stoplight at New Road and 46 in Austintown.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I mean, it never really bothered me. If you've got
- 20:32Speaker 1: a problem with people, turn and put in an arrow.
- 20:35Speaker 1: And I never really had a problem with Glenwood and
- 20:37Speaker 1: Wildwood with a traffic light there. I mean, I just
- 20:42Speaker 1: don't get the roundabouts everywhere.
- 20:43Speaker 5: I think it's somebody's brother-in-law is involved in building that stuff,
- 20:47Speaker 5: and so that's why they're giving the contracts.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Oh, okay. And basically it's just corruption, then, you're saying?
- 20:53Speaker 5: Well, let's talk about nationally.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 20:58Speaker 5: The guy that you think is fabulous, the president, how
- 21:02Speaker 5: about him? He wants to buy all new jets now.
- 21:04Speaker 5: What do you think about that one?
- 21:07Speaker 1: You mean Air Force One?
- 21:10Speaker 5: No, he wants to build like 22 new jets.
- 21:13Speaker 7: For what?
- 21:15Speaker 5: To look like the old ones.
- 21:18Speaker 3: I'm serious.
- 21:20Speaker 5: You didn't hear that one?
- 21:21Speaker 1: No, I didn't hear this one.
- 21:22Speaker 5: Oh, hopefully somebody will give you an update on that.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Well, I don't even know what you're talking about, actually.
- 21:28Speaker 5: Well, I don't think he does either. But anyways.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Now, he's your president. He's your commander in chief.
- 21:35Speaker 5: Yeah, right. Anyways, hopefully somebody will update you on this situation. So,
- 21:43Speaker 5: you have a nice evening.
- 21:45Speaker 1: That's it? That's all you have?
- 21:47Speaker 3: That's it.
- 21:47Speaker 6: Goodbye.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Short, sweet, and to the point. I want nothing more
- 21:55Speaker 1: to do with you. That's it. Goodbye. You're on the air.
- 21:59Speaker 7: How long was the Vietnam War? You were alive then, right?
- 22:04Speaker 5: I know.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I'm a... A generation, what's the, hell, I don't even
- 22:11Speaker 1: know what the young generations are.
- 22:12Speaker 7: It would be Generation Y, and we would say, why
- 22:15Speaker 7: the hell is he still on the air? Yes, yes.
- 22:16Speaker 6: Why are we letting this guy talk?
- 22:19Speaker 8: Yes, yes.
- 22:20Speaker 7: Generation Y.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Don't worry. Now that I've reached this golden age that's
- 22:27Speaker 1: one of these days, I'm going to wake up and say,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I've had enough. All right, go ahead.
- 22:32Speaker 7: All right. So how long was the Vietnam War? You
- 22:37Speaker 7: were a young man.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it went on for years. I don't know exactly.
- 22:42Speaker 7: Years and years. It was into the mid-70s, and it
- 22:47Speaker 7: was going on in the early 60s. So in what?
- 22:49Speaker 7: Just on the American side, 58,000 we lost. Say again?
- 22:52Speaker 7: That's right, you were at the... 58,000 lives we lost,
- 23:05Speaker 7: American lives.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Yeah, around that, yeah.
- 23:09Speaker 7: Yeah, and how many have we lost since the Iran debacle?
- 23:16Speaker 1: Maybe 20, very few.
- 23:19Speaker 7: Yeah, very few, and thankfully, we mourn the ones we
- 23:23Speaker 7: have lost.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Stand by for a minute. Back with Jake in a minute.
- 23:29Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570 WKBN. Ron Furt from the Kingdom of Mahoning
- 23:33Speaker 1: on a Monday afternoon. Your one stop for advertising. Call
- 23:38Speaker 1: 70 WKBN. Ron Furt, NewsRadio 570 WKBN. All right. Back
- 23:45Speaker 1: with Jake. OK, go ahead, Jake. Of course, you've got
- 23:48Speaker 1: to remember when you're talking about Vietnam and there's difference.
- 23:51Speaker 1: There's been, obviously, boots on the ground, as they like
- 23:54Speaker 1: to say, so a big significant difference.
- 23:57Speaker 7: That's what I'm saying. You can't, you know, oh, people
- 24:00Speaker 7: say they're more angry about this than Vietnam. Really? Okay, A,
- 24:05Speaker 7: we're not in Vietnam. We're not involved in that time
- 24:09Speaker 7: where 58,000 died. Okay, that's probably some bad decisions made there. Yeah,
- 24:17Speaker 7: it's a bad decision made here. I don't know. If
- 24:22Speaker 7: Rich got on and said all his great stuff about
- 24:25Speaker 7: the school boards and stuff, but then in between when
- 24:29Speaker 7: he switched from Canfield to the Blue Jays of Jackson-Milton,
- 24:36Speaker 7: that he screamed the N-word. We tend to block the
- 24:42Speaker 7: other stuff out. So it's not our fault. It's not
- 24:45Speaker 7: Ted the conservative's fault. It's not Rich's fault. It's not
- 24:47Speaker 7: my fault. It's not the old-timer's fault. It's the guy
- 24:51Speaker 7: screaming the N-word. Because that's what's going on. And it's ridiculous.
- 24:58Speaker 7: Rich is right. Everybody gives all the money. That's why
- 25:03Speaker 7: the leftist freaks from hell are screaming, get the money
- 25:06Speaker 7: out of politics. It's always going to be there. You're
- 25:10Speaker 7: not going to do that. And who's worse? People stand
- 25:15Speaker 7: there and defend China? Really? You have modern-day slavery. You
- 25:20Speaker 7: have the Uyghurs in a concentration camp. You have what
- 25:24Speaker 7: they're spying on in America every day. You have the
- 25:29Speaker 7: women coming over and having a baby to have their
- 25:32Speaker 7: kids citizens because we're– Stupid enough to let that happen.
- 25:36Speaker 7: But who's doing it? Whose plan is it? It's China's.
- 25:40Speaker 7: Go over to India. Wow, they make great decisions in India. Okay,
- 25:44Speaker 7: how about let's start with this. We talk about racism
- 25:47Speaker 7: all the time. Their entire country is based on racism.
- 25:53Speaker 7: They still have a caste system that they go by.
- 25:56Speaker 7: But we can't talk about that. They make great decisions,
- 26:00Speaker 7: and they make cheaper stuff, so we've got to ship our...
- 26:02Speaker 7: It just bothers me. There's so many issues. I like
- 26:07Speaker 7: Ron Burbs saying, wait, we've got to do something with
- 26:09Speaker 7: the tariffs because we got raped and pillaged in the 90s.
- 26:14Speaker 7: We got decimated as a country and as a workforce,
- 26:18Speaker 7: and I was part of it. You watched it happen.
- 26:21Speaker 7: And what's the answer? Ah, now you've got to go
- 26:24Speaker 7: get cheaper labor.
- 26:25Speaker 5: Okay.
- 26:26Speaker 7: Okay, buddy, America doesn't survive like that. America doesn't survive
- 26:30Speaker 7: without the jobs. And there's a guy at the top
- 26:34Speaker 7: trying to bring the jobs back, and you're going to
- 26:37Speaker 7: say it's okay. We should have no tariffs. Look, if
- 26:42Speaker 7: all you care about is money, that's cool. But, you know.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Say that. You make a legitimate point because there's two
- 26:51Speaker 1: sides to every story. There's the guy that argues, well,
- 26:54Speaker 1: wait a minute. If you bring all this stuff in
- 26:56Speaker 1: from all these other nations, my dollar buys more and
- 27:00Speaker 1: I have more money in my pockets. And that's the
- 27:02Speaker 1: argument that they make. But the counter argument to that is, well,
- 27:06Speaker 1: you believe that until it costs you your job. Until
- 27:10Speaker 1: your job is lost to somebody in some other country
- 27:12Speaker 1: that can do it for way less money. Because we
- 27:15Speaker 1: can't compete with those countries. I say it a million times.
- 27:19Speaker 1: For Americans to have a job to go to and
- 27:21Speaker 1: the best social program is a good job, you've got
- 27:24Speaker 1: to say to yourself, we can't compete with these slave
- 27:28Speaker 1: wage nations. Stand by, Jake. I'll come back to him
- 27:31Speaker 1: after my break at 4. We'll talk tariffs and more.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Ron Furman, more to come.
