- 0:25Speaker 1: had for you growing up? ANGELA Mother's Day is Sunday.
- 0:30Speaker 1: What's a weird rule that your mom had? Oh my god,
- 0:33Speaker 1: what are you doing so loud?
- 0:35Speaker 2: Back there?
- 0:36Speaker 3: I'm getting out of the daycare room.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Okay, daycare room. Yes, that's a lot of yes, all right,
- 0:44Speaker 2: so go ahead.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Growing up, I only had three rules in high school.
- 0:48Speaker 3: One was I was not allowed to go to New
- 0:50Speaker 3: Orleans at all because my mom said I would get
- 0:54Speaker 3: kidnapped and sold on hair Blue Live Kids, which okay.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Second rule is we were never allowed to ride four
- 1:01Speaker 3: wheelers or motorcycles. And then the start rule was don't
- 1:05Speaker 3: get pregnant in high school.
- 1:07Speaker 2: That was it, you know, Okay, it does seem like
- 1:10Speaker 2: they're they're not weird. Not weird. Yeah, not weird. I
- 1:14Speaker 2: wouldn't fight many of those. H Yeah.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I worked really hard not to get pregnant in high school,
- 1:20Speaker 3: so that that was a win. And I only went
- 1:23Speaker 3: to New Orleans once and so yeah.
- 1:27Speaker 2: So you had to work really hard to not get pregnant.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Like wow, Well, I mean it's South Mississippi over here.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Yeah, not a lot else to do, right, all right, Well,
- 1:37Speaker 1: thanks for listening to Angela.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Thank you. Y'all have a good day too.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Brittany, what is a weird rule your mom had?
- 1:44Speaker 4: The main one was when I went to my friend's house,
- 1:48Speaker 4: which would be down the street, I'd have to ride
- 1:51Speaker 4: back home every fifteen minutes on the dot so check in.
- 1:54Speaker 4: I couldn't call. If I called, I was in trouble,
- 1:56Speaker 4: I'm grounded. And then another rule was sixteen minute phone calls.
- 1:59Speaker 4: No calls after eight and I had to be done
- 2:02Speaker 4: with my phone calls within fifteen minutes.
- 2:04Speaker 5: Wow what and my.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Mom even did this when I was a single mom.
- 2:08Speaker 4: I was a single mom of a seven month old
- 2:10Speaker 4: and my boyfriend now husband lived in a Sacramento so
- 2:14Speaker 4: he not to call me in the evening and my
- 2:15Speaker 4: mom would get on the phone and say, you need
- 2:16Speaker 4: to get off the phone now. Oh my gosh, I
- 2:21Speaker 4: had a curfew at as a twenty year old. Mom
- 2:23Speaker 4: had a curfew of eight o'clock at night, so I
- 2:25Speaker 4: was allowed to go out past eight while she locked
- 2:28Speaker 4: me out of the house.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Wow.
- 2:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I like would say, do you feel like those
- 2:32Speaker 5: rules like really changed in shape to you, like as
- 2:34Speaker 5: a person?
- 2:35Speaker 2: Did you feel like you were super rebellious or anything
- 2:37Speaker 2: like that?
- 2:38Speaker 4: That's why I got pregnant right away?
- 2:40Speaker 2: Okay, yeah I was.
- 2:42Speaker 4: I met my ex and then like moved out of
- 2:45Speaker 4: my mom until it at eighteen and just like disappeared
- 2:47Speaker 4: and I cut her out of my life for a
- 2:49Speaker 4: while there because she was just super cleany. But my
- 2:52Speaker 4: brother's got away with everything, but I was like the
- 2:54Speaker 4: one who was rounded for everything or had to stay
- 2:57Speaker 4: home all the time, wasn't allowed to have a boyfriend. Yeah,
- 3:00Speaker 4: I definitely I went.
- 3:02Speaker 5: And you said your phone calls could only be fifteen
- 3:04Speaker 5: minutes long when you were on the phone with the
- 3:06Speaker 5: front See I can hear that.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Already because you talk all the time.
- 3:10Speaker 5: You talked super fast, so it's like you could tell
- 3:12Speaker 5: you're trying to get stuff in. So that's ever changed
- 3:14Speaker 5: you forever too, so for me.
- 3:16Speaker 4: That my conversations are very quick. I mean, it's like
- 3:19Speaker 4: the boy it's done.
- 3:20Speaker 1: The rule that seems weird to me is that you
- 3:22Speaker 1: had to run home every fifteen minutes. I mean, that's crazy,
- 3:25Speaker 1: that's that's a you must have been in great shape.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Oh, I was very skinny. I was like ninety nine
- 3:30Speaker 4: pounds for years.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Wow. And it was the neighborhood that far away or
- 3:33Speaker 2: was it It was.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Literally like five pounces down.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Still, if you play, if you're playing, you're playing the game.
- 3:38Speaker 2: You gotta go home. And then did you run home
- 3:43Speaker 2: and you check in and then turn around and run
- 3:44Speaker 2: right back.
- 3:45Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 3:45Speaker 4: No, I had to run to my friend's house. I
- 3:47Speaker 4: had to put a timer on her microwave, say I
- 3:49Speaker 4: have to go back and check on in. So I
- 3:51Speaker 4: would check in within thirteen minutes. That way, I didn't
- 3:54Speaker 4: miss my fifteen minute time.
- 3:55Speaker 2: God, I couldn't live like that. It'd be so way
- 3:57Speaker 2: switch anxiety. Wow.
- 3:59Speaker 4: All right, that's why I'm not like that with my
- 4:01Speaker 4: kids at all. My kids are just kind of you
- 4:03Speaker 4: have to check in, and that's about it.
- 4:05Speaker 2: All right, well, thank you Brittany for sharing that with us.
- 4:07Speaker 2: You win, Thank you win. Happy Mother's Day.
- 4:10Speaker 5: Calls back in fifteen minutes.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Happy Mother's Day.
