Transcript
- 0:05Thank you for listening to Depictions Media Radio. You ready welcome back everybody.
- 0:44I'm want to welcome to the show. Natasha Carter. Natasha Carter is not
- 0:49only the author of the book Unfinished Business, she is also a social media
- 0:55guru, and we want to talk to her a bit about how she used
- 1:03social media to push her book out there so that she gathered the right audience
- 1:08and was able to sell a bunch of books. And she's as current working
- 1:15on her second or maybe third novel. But this is from the from the
- 1:22about the author section in Unfinished Business. Natasha knew she wanted to be a
- 1:29writer since she first learned to read, but didn't go all in until twenty
- 1:34nineteen. She started a blog and then broke into fiction when she accidentally began
- 1:42to write a novel in twenty twenty. She has many works in progress so
- 1:51expects several upcoming releases. In addition to the erotic romance genre, she writes
- 2:00mystery, suspense, and science fiction. Natasha lives in the Midwest of the
- 2:06United States with her family and two cats. She loves nature, astrology,
- 2:13taro, and all things spiritual. I've been following Natasha for quite some time
- 2:21and I've realized that along with everything else, she is a very positive person
- 2:27and a very fun person to just kind of hang out in the social media
- 2:35world with some of the some of the things that she actually shares. So
- 2:39let's welcome Natasha to the show. One. Welcome to the show, Natasha.
- 2:49It's great to see you again. And of course I've said several times
- 2:53on Twitter how you are my favorite author and hate UM. At this point,
- 3:01I actually feel like like you're my sister in positivity, you know,
- 3:07because you always see such cool stuff, such positive stuff UM on Twitter,
- 3:13and I had to respond with with that same kind of positivity, you know,
- 3:17you just bring it out in people. So yeah, so yeah,
- 3:22So how did you get started UM writing this? Because UM Unfinished Business is
- 3:30the first book featuring Charissa Collins, and I had this feeling there's going to
- 3:38be more of that character. Don't endear her or something another way. No,
- 3:46I think that this is going to be a standalone and unless a lot
- 3:51of people want a sequel. I have had a few people I wish that
- 3:54I would write another one and continue on the journey of the two characters,
- 4:00but I didn't intend. I feel like I don't have you finished it?
- 4:05Yeah, okay, I don't. I don't intend on continuing their story.
- 4:11I kind of want to believe it up to your imagination as to how it
- 4:16goest. I mean, it's a half away ever afterwards. That a half
- 4:19away ever for now, you know, kind of thing. But if it
- 4:25gets a lot, if a lot of people want more, maybe I will
- 4:27overrid a sequel. But right now I have a lot of other stuff in
- 4:30the work, so it would be it would be a while before I get
- 4:32to it. Yeah. Yeah. In in the about the author's section,
- 4:39it talked about your life dream to be an author and a novelist. Right,
- 4:46yes, so that was always the dream since I've learned how to read.
- 4:53So how does it feel to actually know that so many people are actually
- 4:58buying your books because we can get it through Amazon and a few other ways,
- 5:02right, I'm really mostly just through Amazon, um, unless you unless
- 5:09you ordered from me directly like you did, or in several other people,
- 5:14a lot more people that I thought. Actually, I think I'd had like
- 5:15one hundred and fifty people requests signed copies from me that I signed, and
- 5:20sending mails. And that was a little overwhelming because I didn't I thought i'd
- 5:25have like twenty five. Oh that's why you had to do a second order
- 5:31of books. Yeah, I mean it was it was a long process.
- 5:36Yeah yeah, and a lot of people were waiting for a while and I
- 5:42was unfortunately that's the way when so yeah, so um, well, along
- 5:49along with that, you have a you have a lot of support at home
- 5:54also, um be could you talk about which is it? Uh? Four
- 5:59and fourteen? Is it that doesn't rain daughters? I don't like to say
- 6:05their names? No, no, no, no no no. The age
- 6:10numbers are are are good enough. We don't need to We don't need need
- 6:14to put put those kind of names. I okay. As as you've been
- 6:18following me for a while too, have you ever seen a picture of my
- 6:21kids? No? No, you probably know that I have two kids.
- 6:28But no, right, you know when you put yourself out in certain ways
- 6:36that there are others who, um, I don't want to get to go
- 6:44into this too far, there are people who want to stalk and and why
- 6:47put why put my my loved ones in in jeopardy because somebody decides to be
- 6:55be uh a stalker? We have to keep yeah. So um but you
- 7:03with that, you have quite uh, the audience on on social media.
- 7:09Between Twitter, we also follow each other on Instagram and you have and you
- 7:13have a following there also, um a little bit. It's not as big
- 7:16as Twitter by any meaning, No, it's not as big as Twitter.
- 7:20But but but how do you make that effective to to be able to sell
- 7:27your books? Well, I mean as far as like building my following on
- 7:32Twitter, it was kind of an accident at first. I hadn't hear what
- 7:38I was doing, um, but nobody that I knew was following me.
- 7:42So I was just saying whatever random stuff came into my head and it was
- 7:46super like a filter list, and people liked that, and so then I
- 7:53started to realize how what to say and like what to in. Then I
- 7:58started doing like questions stop in stuck too, because people love to ask answer
- 8:01questions about themselves, um, and then just following the people who were interacting
- 8:05and growing that way. And I don't follow as many accounts now that I
- 8:13used to, just because it, um it got overwhelming and hard to keep
- 8:16up with. And um, I only have it so people can DM me
- 8:22if I'm following them, So I try to limit that because I was getting
- 8:26way too many messages and it was just too much. Yeah, so,
- 8:31um, de leasn't you? You you do it? You're so you're doing
- 8:39a good job of keeping like your art, your family and and all the
- 8:48social media stuff and in some sort of a balance. Then yeah, I'm
- 8:54trying to. I mean, there have been times where I spent way too
- 8:56much time on there, and I'm trying to limit that now just because it
- 9:03can be such a time suck and um, but I you know, once
- 9:09I launched the book, I had to spend more time on there getting it
- 9:11out there, pushing it out to people. And I also, you know,
- 9:20manage other accounts on Twitter, so I can't really get away from it
- 9:24that much because I'm trying to help other people go to Yeah. Yeah,
- 9:28I was going to eventually lead to that when you brought it up, because
- 9:33you are a social media guru and you have client accounts, right yeah yeah,
- 9:41So, um, how do you what what type of strategies do you
- 9:46actually used to make an account grow? Because then now you did the first
- 9:52one of my accident, you said, but but now you have a formula
- 9:54to it, don't you. I mean it's pretty strategic in a way.
- 10:00I mean, I guess I didn't really realize that it was. But like
- 10:03I said, I do a lot of questions. I retweet those tweets from
- 10:07my account, and then I from their accounts. I follow all the people
- 10:13who interact like comment and make sure that I engage with the comments, because
- 10:20that anytime you reply to a comment on one of your tweets, it bumps
- 10:26that tweet back up to the top of the feet and allows it to be
- 10:28seen by more people. So you have to make the logarithm work for you
- 10:33in that way. Okay, So engage. Engagement is one of the biggest
- 10:41ways to grow because if people comment on them. If you get a bunch
- 10:46of comments and you don't interact with any of them, it can be kind
- 10:50of rude or cold or stand offish, and people will be like, oh,
- 10:54they didn't even reply to me. But I mean, that can be
- 10:56hard when you get hundreds, but I try to at least like, um,
- 11:05no, I get that my my Twitter accounts aren't but I have,
- 11:11but I have three accounts to um that some I managed myself, and then
- 11:18there's another person that actually helps me out with with the third one. Um,
- 11:24but I mean, no single one really adds up to your your one
- 11:31for Natasha Carter. But it's it becomes if it becomes work. When when
- 11:37when the when you're trying to use it as a driving force to get people
- 11:43to listen more right, Yeah, so, um, when you were doing
- 11:48it, when when you're actually pushing your book out there, Um, what
- 11:52was one of the one of the strategies that you use to actually get people
- 11:56to realize that you had the book and that you were looking for an audience
- 12:00to actually listen to that book or watch read that book. I guess I
- 12:05just try to promote it. I just try to promote like what kind of
- 12:09book it is, because a lot of people, a lot of people do
- 12:15like that genre and they want to read a spicy romance novel. But I
- 12:20also just try to appeal to my audience because there's a lot of people who
- 12:26are going to read it even though it's not their genre, just because they're
- 12:30like me. And that's I think one of the most important pieces of marketing
- 12:37that sometimes people miss is like just be yourself, be genuine, because the
- 12:41people who are going to like your work are the people who like you as
- 12:46a person. Right, you know that that doesn't that make sense. So
- 12:56you put a little slice of Natasha in every anything did you do? Yes,
- 13:03I don't know how not to. I mean I don't know how to
- 13:05you. I don't know how to hold back from being myself. I guess
- 13:09it's just this is like that you don't know how. I don't know how.
- 13:16I don't know how to be anything else. Well, and that's true.
- 13:24It's like I'm sitting here. I remember the first time I talk to
- 13:26you, and it's like, and we kind of giggle through the conversation the
- 13:30first time I talk to you, because um, and we're doing it again.
- 13:35Because it's just who you are, right, You're a happy person.
- 13:39I am for the most part. It's not like I don't have things that
- 13:43get me down are upset me. But for the most part, I just
- 13:48try to be positive and optimistic because life you just keep going mm hmm.
- 13:56So um because you yeah, I mean you wrote, you wrote the book
- 14:03and in the novel and then you have another work in progress. It's like
- 14:07I have like nine I do see I do see the hashtag w I P
- 14:15and I was like work in progress. Get it. It's like I know,
- 14:18I have like I like nine started. I'm all over the place.
- 14:22I'm kind of ADHD, so I'm trying to rain this world in a little
- 14:28bit. But I do have a finished draft that I'm working on editing and
- 14:33revising, so I'm hoping to have that published by September is my goal.
- 14:39I'm trying to keep myself on task with like a deadline, because otherwise it's
- 14:43just fall through the cracks. But so I'm trying to, like, I'm
- 14:46really enjoying my new project and i just want to keep working on it.
- 14:50But I'm trying to like have some self control and be like, Okay,
- 14:56you can write for one hour on your new product if you edit for one
- 15:01hour on your old project. Oh well that makes sense. Yeah. Um,
- 15:09I wish I had that discipline. And you call yourself ADHD because I
- 15:16don't think I had to. I think I'm more ADHD than you are because
- 15:20I don't have that kind of discipline. Oh god. Um. I totally
- 15:28on the artistic end, I get the having several projects on the run and
- 15:31trying to try and it's like, oh wait, what this one's actually going
- 15:35to do something? Then to feed back money back into the system, I
- 15:39better focus on that one a little more. A little closer, you know.
- 15:43So so how do you how do you prioritize or make sure that one
- 15:48thing gets pushed up over another. Well, I really tend to go with
- 15:54the flow. It's like what I'm is calling to me at the time we
- 16:00wants to be written, because sometimes I feel like projects need time to breathe.
- 16:06So Hidden Obsession is the one I'm going to be publishing next. And
- 16:11I wrote it almost two years ago as when I started on it, and
- 16:17so it's just been waiting. I don't remember when I finished the first draft,
- 16:26but it's been waiting and just kind of like sitting there. I work
- 16:29on other things, and now I'm like, Okay, now it's time to
- 16:32polish it and get it ready because it's the closest one to being done.
- 16:37So I need to get it all there because I need to continue to build
- 16:41off my momentum I growing here with my first book. I know a lot
- 16:45of people are ready for the next one. There's some authors that they do
- 16:53the what is it winter fall or spring? Yeah, spring and then summer
- 17:06that yeah, something like that. They actually do, so they actually space
- 17:12for books like six months apart. Is that something you're trying to do for
- 17:15yourself or yeah, I think that's what I'm going to shoot for, is
- 17:19trying to get so the next one I'm doing is actually going to be a
- 17:23series. So I'm hoping to get the first book out in like September,
- 17:27and then the second one maybe six months after that, and then I'm not
- 17:33sure where it's going to go after that or if it's just going to be
- 17:36the two. We'll have to see. And then the other one that I'm
- 17:40working on right now is really the one I want to get out there soon
- 17:47too, So I really would like to have them all out within the next
- 17:52year and a half. I see, Um I did notice that. Okay,
- 18:02So while I was reading Unfinished Business, Um, and there's because because
- 18:12that marketing brain of my own goes goes, goes wiggling along, right,
- 18:17and I was like, Okay, there wasn't a lot of sponsorship notes in
- 18:23there, like like different products kept popping up or something like that. Um,
- 18:29that's in this one. But I know on Twitter that you, uh,
- 18:33you have built a relationship with a couple of companies. Um, well
- 18:38I know, I know know that, and I'm actually gonna bring up your
- 18:41friends right now. Uh. The No Shit Show another podcast out there,
- 18:48so um, and you appear here on there quite frequently, and they also
- 18:53I know you guys bounced back and forth a lot. Um. I've actually
- 18:57never been on the podcast. We have planned it and it fell through,
- 19:02and I think we're still going to do that, but it hasn't happened yet.
- 19:06Okay, because um, I can manage that. I manage that account.
- 19:14I knew you, I knew you had a relationship with them, and
- 19:17that's what the question is. How do you how do you build those get
- 19:22build the right relationships with businesses so that they help you get your projects out
- 19:29there and um and help you and actually help like your your your your social
- 19:37media marketing business and all that kind of stuff. Well, yet, like
- 19:42I said, it all it comes down to relationship building and engagement and um
- 19:48just kind of putting yourself out there. So I'm doing some a couple of
- 19:51other different things as well that I haven't really come to fruition yet, but
- 19:55we'll see. So UM, when I've first started writing, I started with
- 20:02a company called Elephant Journal, and I was writing strictly like nonfiction, like
- 20:08personal essay type stuff blogging and they really helped me, who as a writer
- 20:19and the Soul, and I haven't written on there for a while, and
- 20:25I reached out to Willin, who's the person who started Elephant Journal, and
- 20:30was like, hey, I wrote this book and I just wanted to let
- 20:34you know and like, thank you for encouraging me on this journey, because
- 20:41I don't I wouldn't. There's no way I would have gotten here if it
- 20:42weren't for you guys, and like getting my start with Elephant And he was
- 20:47like, hey, why don't you promote it on Elephant and we will share
- 20:51it up to all of our people. And so those kind of connections that
- 20:55you make, you revisit them as you're trying to because people are going to
- 21:00be supportive of you if you're supportive of them, right. So, I
- 21:07mean it's like every um, every other relationship that you have in life,
- 21:11you just genuinely try to do do the right thing for for other people,
- 21:15right right, Right, So in has um so that that probably has also
- 21:27helped you with with with your social media, following the fact that you keep
- 21:33building relationships rather than just trying to string them along with a with with a
- 21:38product, right Yeah, Yeah, I mean I don't I haven't had any
- 21:41other products. So I don't I don't know, but it's kind of a
- 21:49person it's kind of a common of advice to people though, right, build
- 21:56relationships rather than just try to you know. Yeah, I mean I see
- 22:00a lot of people doing it, bron I guess where they're just trying to
- 22:03throw their book out there and and just not really trying to interact or engage
- 22:10with other people. And it's like, why would you just why would anyone
- 22:12just buy that book? Why? Why? Why did they care? You
- 22:15have to make them care, right, right, And obviously you do a
- 22:23good job of making people care. Some things, sometimes too much. Um
- 22:33well, there were there was um because there's been a lot lot of a
- 22:38lot of social like social issues, have social media issues, but social issues
- 22:44that they've happened, and you've commented on those and uh and you didn't like
- 22:52irritate a new body. You actually work people up, so I hope.
- 22:57So, I mean, I try to be very understanding and accepting of all
- 23:07viewpoints and where they come from. He has often people have this that people
- 23:15really hold tight to their beliefs and sometimes don't realize that those beliefs can be
- 23:21wrong, and especially if you've been taught to believe something your entire life,
- 23:29and so I try to be very open minded and just like being like,
- 23:37hey, like I respect everybody's belief systems or political views. I understand that
- 23:45everyone comes from a different path. And so if we can just get everybody
- 23:52to be on that same page and have that same level of acceptance and respect
- 23:56and kind of like sign our middle ground, because that's where we're off right
- 24:00now, like as a whole, Like we're so divided on everything and we
- 24:07just want to like throw so much anger and hate at anybody that's ins diffinitely
- 24:11in the radio, and like we really need to understand that fundamentally, we
- 24:15are just all the same. We're all just human, and we're all just
- 24:19trying to make the decisions that we make for the best of to the best
- 24:23of our abilities, and we need a out our compassion for each other.
- 24:30Right. I agree with that, um how because I noticed some things in
- 24:44Unfinished Business about there's there's um the controversial polyamorous relationship thing versus the traditional and
- 24:56you make them all come together or and and and work there that we it's
- 25:07like the message is we should be accepting of other viewpoints. It doesn't it
- 25:11doesn't mean we have to have to suck it in and make it our viewpoint.
- 25:15It just means that we have respect it, right right Like, Um,
- 25:21I mean I don't know that that would work for everyone, or I
- 25:26mean personally, I don't think it would work for me. But I just
- 25:30was intrigued by the subject and thought, Okay, let's let's use this.
- 25:33This would be fun to learn about and right about. But um, I
- 25:38know that there are people that it doesn't work for and that they are and
- 25:41then there are other people who choose monogamy and that's fine for them, and
- 25:47there are other people who are in anogamist relationships that probably shouldn't be. So
- 25:52I mean, I just think that we need to be more open minded and
- 25:56accepting of what works for other people. Just because it doesn't work for us
- 26:00doesn't mean that it's not. Okay. Yeah, So it seems you you
- 26:10put put all that compassion in and and love for for for other people in
- 26:18that respect, all that all those things that you put that into everything you
- 26:21do. Yeah. Yeah, I because that's just who I am as a
- 26:27person, right, And some things that it bites me lass with that because
- 26:33I have a lot of empathy and I have a big heart, and I
- 26:37I try so hard on I mean, I have a degree in psychology.
- 26:40I wanted to be a psychologist. At one point in my life. I
- 26:42wanted to help people, and that you know, that changed I decided to
- 26:48go in a different direction. But um, I always try to understand why
- 26:52people do the things they do, and sometimes I think I understand more than
- 26:56they even do. But it's it's so hard to try to make other people
- 27:04understand Okay, well this is why they did that, or this is why
- 27:10you did this, and like it's not even when it's like sometimes really mean
- 27:17things people do and it comes from with pain and you try to understand that.
- 27:22And but there are some things that are just too much. M Yeah,
- 27:30there are things that they just become Okay, that's a bit much,
- 27:36you know, or they cross the line or something, right. Yeah,
- 27:41Um, boundaries are important, they yeah, And I didn't used to have
- 27:52a lot of boundaries, and I've had to really learn how to have some
- 27:56healthy mines, especially over the past couple of years, and learn like I
- 28:02don't have to respond everybody. I don't have to like it's okay if I
- 28:07upset someone because whatever, Like I have to take care of me first.
- 28:14M right, I get that part, you know, um, the lesson
- 28:22lesson in life, Uh learn love to learn me first. Yeah. I
- 28:30think we there was an infra one of those infrogram think pictures things that we
- 28:37were sharing around with with with that on their one time uh um. But
- 28:48going forward, going going back to to you as a social media guru,
- 28:52um, what um what does some what does someone that process don't like to
- 28:57actually discover what somebody's messages and how you should be getting them out there into
- 29:03into the social media world to the day. So did you build an audience
- 29:07for them? I mean it really just depends on like what they're trying to
- 29:12promote and who they are. And I usually have a conversation with them at
- 29:17first, like okay, so what are your goals, what are your hobbies,
- 29:22what are you into? And just try to get a framework of what
- 29:26kind of makes them tick so that when I do tweet for them, it's
- 29:30genuine that makes sense. So you got to get to know the person a
- 29:37little bit first, back to that relationship building thing, right, Yeah.
- 29:44So and well let's let's go into this because because you um and I said,
- 30:00it's a few times on Twitter that that you are a beautiful person and
- 30:03thank you um that you're trying to make a You're trying to trying to do
- 30:14the work to to make a beautiful world for people, right I'm trying?
- 30:25Or what is someone that look like for you? Like, what like if
- 30:33you if you were building this this beautiful world, what would what would some
- 30:37of that look like for you? Well, the world we live in is
- 30:45just so lost and it seems to just be getting worse, and I don't
- 30:56know how to fix it. I don't have the answers I wish I did.
- 31:00I can only try to be The only control or anything that I have
- 31:07is over myself. And so half of the time my tweets that people consider
- 31:14like motivational or whatever, are like me talking to myself and trying to rid
- 31:18myself up and then just putting it out there and anyone else needed to hear
- 31:22it too, because life is hard, especially right now, like over the
- 31:29past few years after the pandemic and everything else, and the political divide and
- 31:33like everything that's going on in that economy. Everyone is struggling. Everyone is
- 31:40struggling. There's nobody who's not having a tough time with something in their life,
- 31:45and that's where we come back to that compassion and like being kinder to
- 31:49ourselves and each other because people are going through stuff and you're not going to
- 31:56know what it is, and like and also trying to, like, I
- 32:00don't know, not get upset over My mom was really good at this.
- 32:07I struggle with it sometimes, but she always tried to put herself in other
- 32:12people's shoes. And so even if I was like somebody was being rude to
- 32:16me and I was like, they're just there's so mean, they're so awfulers
- 32:20would rue to me and she was just like, you know, Natasha,
- 32:22like you need to think about what they could be going through. They could
- 32:25be going through something and they're just projecting and you need to not take it
- 32:30personally and so, which can be really hard to do in the moment,
- 32:35but um and try not to be reactive because sometimes that's all people want from
- 32:40you, like the Puttera trolls and whoever else. What they want is your
- 32:45attention. They want your reaction. So if you give them that, they're
- 32:49winning, and so you have to kind of just hold it in. Upset,
- 32:57I just I guess I don't I don't know what the world could look
- 33:04like if we could all just be better to each other, kind of softer,
- 33:14more loving, it wouldn't that be great? Yeah? That utopia we
- 33:22all like I had keep you going with it? Utopia? To describe it
- 33:28more, you're rolling too something here? How I do it better? And
- 33:32just write it? After years? Your your writer net not really a speaker,
- 33:39right, I admittively I'm a much better writer than I am speaker.
- 33:45But yeah, it's hard to describe. But we just need more empathy,
- 33:51more compassion, more understanding, more open mindedness of like just because something just
- 34:00because I wouldn't do something or I don't think something is for me, doesn't
- 34:04mean that it doesn't isn't okay for somebody else to do, Like for example,
- 34:09like gosh our whole lives. I feel like there was this big stigma
- 34:15around being gay and like, um, people being upset about it and people
- 34:22not wanting people who are gay to get married, and it's like, I
- 34:24don't I've never understood, like why that bothers anyone? Why does that bother
- 34:29you? There, it's not affecting you in any way, you know,
- 34:34I've never understood that somebody who's you know, my brother is gay and I
- 34:37absolutely love him so much. And it's always just been so hard for me
- 34:43to have the world be the way it was and it's getting it was getting
- 34:46better, and now it seems to be going backwards. And I don't I
- 34:51don't know why. I don't know why that's happening. But like, love
- 34:55is love, and we should just celebrate that love no where who it's for.
- 35:00And like two women getting married affects me zero, affects my life zero,
- 35:07So why don't they get to be happy and they enjoy our lives?
- 35:12Right? It's just yeah, I agree with that. Um and um,
- 35:22you you've peeked in it peeked into my world a little bit. And uh
- 35:28see I'm sitting here with I've been criticized for for my pink shirts. I
- 35:31got a whole bunch of these. It's like, and I guess, I
- 35:37guess see see. I also try to help people when they're building an audience,
- 35:43right, that you're building the audience in a way that they have a
- 35:46happy existence in business and in life, right, you know what I mean?
- 35:52So there was something that was a really big and I'm gonna gonna throw
- 35:59this out there, something that was a really big Um, big thing,
- 36:04not only politically but business wise for me that I would have got like a
- 36:07series of documentaries and stuff out of it. Right, And they criticize my
- 36:15pink shirt and they criticize my shoes. I was like, well, I
- 36:22guess maybe you don't really want me to work with you if you can't accept
- 36:28it's it's just a piece of cloth, right, yeah, And it's just
- 36:32something to walk around in with your feet in so they don't get tore up
- 36:37on the concrete. Right. It's like, if you can't be accepting those
- 36:42sort of things, then do you when you when you have wanted to work
- 36:50with them anyway, because they wanted to change you. They wanted to put
- 36:52you in the box of like you need to be like this, and that's
- 36:57now who you are and not what you should want. And we're trying so
- 37:00hard to get out of that box. I mean, I'm so outside of
- 37:05the box you can't even put me in more. I actually had that happen,
- 37:09and actually I took this like um personality assessment for a job interview,
- 37:15and they were that's what they said. They were like, well, this
- 37:17shows that you you're such an out of the box thinker that it's hard to
- 37:22put you in the box. And this position is very in the box,
- 37:24and I think it would be very stifling for you. And I was like,
- 37:27well, I appreciate that honesty, and you're right, it would be
- 37:30because I can't. I can't be in a narrow minded field or anything like
- 37:38that. It's just not me cool. So you it's somewhere or another you
- 37:49have, you have a screening process that like, Okay, they're going to
- 37:52be a little too constricting on who I am as a person if I work
- 37:55with them, so we'll put them aside. But this person over here,
- 38:00they're kind of open minded and there they like the fact that I'm out of
- 38:02the box. And well, yeah, I mean I haven't had I don't
- 38:07really like do a lot of guess most of my clans come to me.
- 38:14M most of them have found me and approached me. I actually never planned
- 38:19I'm managing anybody's social media accounts. Somebody just asked me if I would manage
- 38:23theirs, and they kind of went from there, um after like seeing how
- 38:29mine had gone. And so if they approached me, the are you like
- 38:32me? There? You know who I am and that I'm I'm very out
- 38:37there at times, so they you know, like I'm I swear. I
- 38:42mean, you know, like I'm not you swear. And you know,
- 38:58like when you're in an auction premilial role, like you want to work with
- 39:04the clients that you're gonna fit with, you don't want to it's not gonna
- 39:09be fun to do work for people that that you just don't mesh while I
- 39:15was yeah, you know, yeah, I get that, and we try
- 39:22we try to help people find that that right audience fit and refer to those
- 39:28people back out again that hey, you're not gonna fit in with me,
- 39:31but try this guy. He's cool. Yeah, you know, Um,
- 39:37there's some boundaries around that also, but yeah, I do have one last
- 39:49question that and then then we'll get to two best ways to find your book
- 39:52and and or work with you as a social media guru. Um, because
- 40:00you have to two little girls? Well do you have two little girls?
- 40:07Right? Yeah? Um, I think I got the got their age numbers
- 40:12wrong in the first time round. But that's okay. Um, what do
- 40:21you what do you want them to see out of life or get out of
- 40:24life? You want them to I mean, one of the main things that
- 40:31I'm trying to teach them is that they can be whoever they want to be,
- 40:37and they're in different ways that I'm doing that. So the first thing,
- 40:42like we always and we always tell children to go off to their dreams,
- 40:46right, I remember hearing that, But then it seems like people get
- 40:51really upset as it's an adult when you actually do because when they see that
- 40:55way, it seems like, well, I'm doing what I always wanted to
- 40:59do. Why is every he hate it? Like I'm finally doing it and
- 41:02I'm not letting Matt stop me because there's been a lot of obstacles in this
- 41:07path for me and I'm shown. So I'm hoping that I'm living by example
- 41:12by showing them my determination and my drive to keep going after my dream regardless
- 41:17of anything. So I'm hoping to show them that so that they realized they
- 41:22really can do whatever they want. Because if my mom did it, I
- 41:24can do it too, is what I is one thing I hope to show
- 41:29them, and I also hope to show them that they can believe what they
- 41:36choose to believe. So my mom did this growing up. She you know,
- 41:43we went to church, we went to different churches, and she told
- 41:45me, like, I want you to choose what you believe. I don't
- 41:49want to force anything. I don't want to force a religion down on you,
- 41:52and I want you to decide for yourself. And in the same way
- 41:55with my girls, like like, okay, well this is Christianity and this
- 42:00is Buddhism, and this is what I believe, and you get to choose,
- 42:07you get to decide, you can believe nothing. I don't care.
- 42:10I just want you to make that choice for yourself. And want I just
- 42:15want them to be who they are and I want them to find who they
- 42:17are, and I want them to do that. You know now if you
- 42:22do not when they're forty, because it seems like a lot of people just
- 42:25grow up and they're told, Okay, this is what you have to believe,
- 42:30this is what you have to do, this is who you are because
- 42:31this is who I say you are, and then they have like a midlife
- 42:37crisis or breakdown because that's not who they're and not who they want to be.
- 42:43And then they have to like start all over. And it's like I
- 42:45want you to find that on purpose, Like now, wow, sorry,
- 42:55that's my whole hell no, no, that was it was very heartwarming.
- 43:04Don't say sorry. For that one. That that was. It was very
- 43:07heartwarming, very warm, very very well said. Um. Anyway, best
- 43:13ways to get a hold of you and find your book? So, um,
