- 0:13Speaker 1: Welcome back everyone to I Do Part two. It's your
- 0:16Speaker 1: hosts Amy and TJ. And we are going to jump
- 0:18Speaker 1: right back into our fascinating conversation with Mary Brown from
- 0:22Speaker 1: Sister Wives.
- 0:24Speaker 2: It's one thing to get divorced.
- 0:27Speaker 1: That's hard enough from one person, but you also got
- 0:32Speaker 1: divorced from your sister wives in a sense too. Or
- 0:34Speaker 1: would it feel like that? How would you describe what
- 0:37Speaker 1: that transition has been like? These are women who were
- 0:41Speaker 1: your sister wives, who you lived with, who you worked with,
- 0:44Speaker 1: and who Yeah, I mean what what?
- 0:47Speaker 2: What's that relationship?
- 0:48Speaker 1: Like?
- 0:48Speaker 3: A really interesting situation because each one of us need
- 0:53Speaker 3: to and have the right to live our lives that
- 0:57Speaker 3: is authentic to us and live in alignment to us,
- 1:00Speaker 3: right And for me, really embracing the fact and accepting
- 1:06Speaker 3: the fact that what aligns with me is not everybody
- 1:10Speaker 3: in my family, right. It just doesn't. And it took
- 1:15Speaker 3: me a while to really be able to come to
- 1:18Speaker 3: accept that I don't have to have relationships with everybody
- 1:23Speaker 3: in the family, nor do I want to. There are
- 1:26Speaker 3: some that I absolutely choose I will not. It's not
- 1:29Speaker 3: healthy for me, you know, It's it's just not it's
- 1:33Speaker 3: not healthy. And so really just kind of embracing that
- 1:39Speaker 3: is heartbreaking on a level, but also it's the best
- 1:44Speaker 3: for me, and it's the best for them too, you know,
- 1:46Speaker 3: because I know some of them have I'm not healthy
- 1:50Speaker 3: for them either, right, And that's okay, that's okay. It
- 1:54Speaker 3: just because we were in the same family doesn't mean
- 1:57Speaker 3: we have to spend our whole lives together as friends.
- 2:01Speaker 4: So you and Christine are now don't talk. Okay. That's
- 2:07Speaker 4: so much different from good is there have you?
- 2:12Speaker 3: But there's like, on my part, I don't know about her.
- 2:14Speaker 3: On my part, there's no hate. I just don't choose
- 2:17Speaker 3: to have her in my life.
- 2:19Speaker 1: You know.
- 2:20Speaker 3: It's just it's not healthy and it's not safe for
- 2:22Speaker 3: me emotionally.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Well, she agreed that you're the same for her, like
- 2:25Speaker 4: you're not emotionally health and Lena, yeah, I think so.
- 2:29Speaker 3: I think are just because we have had some really
- 2:32Speaker 3: good times. But I think our values just don't ALIGNE.
- 2:35Speaker 3: I know our values don't ALIGNE. There's certain things that
- 2:37Speaker 3: I want and I need in a relationship and she
- 2:41Speaker 3: absolutely doesn't have that. And I believe the same thing
- 2:44Speaker 3: for her. She needs and want certain things in a relationship,
- 2:48Speaker 3: and I don't have that for her, So for us,
- 2:51Speaker 3: I think it's just best to just I mean, we
- 2:53Speaker 3: could be cordial to each other if we ran into
- 2:56Speaker 3: each other. You know, It's not like we're going to
- 2:58Speaker 3: scratch each other's eyes out or anything like that, but
- 3:00Speaker 3: we just on a daily basis. We're not going to
- 3:02Speaker 3: be in others' lives.
- 3:04Speaker 4: I tune in for that though, not kidding. I'm not
- 3:10Speaker 4: advocating for two women going at it physically on a show,
- 3:13Speaker 4: obviously not. I want to ask you have said this
- 3:16Speaker 4: a couple of times about whether it's Cody, whether it's Christine,
- 3:19Speaker 4: that you as what your your principles don't align anymore,
- 3:26Speaker 4: but it sounds like some of youst certainly you and
- 3:28Speaker 4: Cody might have started with the same ones. Am I
- 3:31Speaker 4: hearing right that maybe you have grown in a different
- 3:35Speaker 4: place and you don't want to be where they are anymore.
- 3:38Speaker 4: I'm not saying they don't have growth, but they still
- 3:39Speaker 4: some of their principles and being in religion and spiritual
- 3:42Speaker 4: marriages and all. Did you just grow out of that
- 3:46Speaker 4: community or did they change in some way as well?
- 3:51Speaker 3: I think that we all have changed in some way,
- 3:54Speaker 3: and so our paths are just different. Not one is
- 3:58Speaker 3: better than the other, are just different, and they just
- 4:01Speaker 3: like it just doesn't work. It just doesn't work. And
- 4:06Speaker 3: you know, there was a lot of a lot of
- 4:08Speaker 3: years that I thought, you know, where I was like
- 4:10Speaker 3: separating myself from the religious structure. It's like, Okay, I
- 4:13Speaker 3: don't believe in in the teachings. I don't believe in
- 4:17Speaker 3: like that whatever it is that they were promoting, especially
- 4:21Speaker 3: even in the polygamy aspect of it. But we're still
- 4:24Speaker 3: a family. To me, it didn't matter the fact that
- 4:27Speaker 3: we however we came together. We are a family now.
- 4:32Speaker 3: And even though I didn't believe in the church structure,
- 4:34Speaker 3: I didn't believe that well just because we don't believe
- 4:37Speaker 3: in that we should break up a family. And so
- 4:39Speaker 3: for me, I felt like and I worked for a
- 4:42Speaker 3: long time, and I think that Janelle and Christine did
- 4:44Speaker 3: as well, you know, weren't to make that family structure work.
- 4:50Speaker 3: It's you know, it's not healthy to be in a
- 4:52Speaker 3: relationship where you're not loved, you're not valued. You know,
- 4:56Speaker 3: when you're told that, you know it was all a
- 4:58Speaker 3: lie and the he never loved you and everything was
- 5:01Speaker 3: fake anyway, you know what I mean, it's like, well, okay,
- 5:04Speaker 3: then that's not good for me.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Yeah, did Cody give you any reason to even want
- 5:08Speaker 2: to stay?
- 5:08Speaker 1: If someone says, not only was it a mistake, but
- 5:10Speaker 1: I never loved you that that's kind of black and white, like, yeah,
- 5:15Speaker 1: what else would you do with that?
- 5:16Speaker 3: And when he started saying those things that he never
- 5:19Speaker 3: loved me, and and you know it just like I'm like,
- 5:23Speaker 3: you know what, I'm worth more than that, and I'm
- 5:27Speaker 3: not going to stay here just for the sake of
- 5:30Speaker 3: we one time had a marriage, you know what I mean?
- 5:33Speaker 2: Do you believe that? Do you believe that he never
- 5:35Speaker 2: loved you?
- 5:36Speaker 3: No, I don't. I think that he loved me to
- 5:39Speaker 3: the best of his ability at that time. And I
- 5:43Speaker 3: think that's one of the things that just changed and shifted.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it did.
- 5:48Speaker 1: It's I can't even imagine, Like relationships are hard enough anyway,
- 5:52Speaker 1: but you're bringing other people into the relationship.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Just the dynamics that that creates, it.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Does it brings a lot of you know, there's there's
- 6:00Speaker 3: definitely a lot of dynamics. It's funny. So many people
- 6:03Speaker 3: have asked through the years as we've done interviews or
- 6:06Speaker 3: just you know, random people on social media. I don't
- 6:09Speaker 3: know how you can't be jealous. Nobody said I wasn't.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Nobody said I wasn't. I've been very jealous. I've had
- 6:15Speaker 3: a lot of emotions, and I haven't necessarily handled my
- 6:20Speaker 3: emotions the right way, none of them.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Nobody does. Nobody does.
- 6:26Speaker 1: You know?
- 6:26Speaker 3: You do the best that you can in the situation
- 6:28Speaker 3: that you're in. And when you when you what is
- 6:31Speaker 3: it when you know better? You do better?
- 6:34Speaker 4: You know?
- 6:35Speaker 3: And it's like, so like we don't. I didn't handle
- 6:39Speaker 3: emotions correct and I feel like I handle my emotions
- 6:45Speaker 3: better now, like I have tools now, like if I
- 6:49Speaker 3: need a scream, if I need you know, I'm still
- 6:51Speaker 3: going to scream, but it's going to be in my
- 6:53Speaker 3: car alone rather than ask somebody. You know what I mean?
- 6:57Speaker 2: Yes, that is that is healthy. That is healthy.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Doesn't make the show sound as good.
- 7:02Speaker 3: It doesn't. It doesn't. I don't try the drama.
- 7:06Speaker 1: So, Mary, I know that you're obviously aware that Christine
- 7:21Speaker 1: just came out with a memoir.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Have you read it? Are you going to read it?
- 7:25Speaker 2: Any desire to read it?
- 7:27Speaker 3: I have not read it and I probably won't. I
- 7:31Speaker 3: I can't say that I lived it with her because
- 7:35Speaker 3: my life experience was different than her life experience. Because
- 7:41Speaker 3: of our different life experiences. Even though they were in
- 7:44Speaker 3: the same life, many of the things that she's I'm
- 7:47Speaker 3: sure talking about we had the same history, we had,
- 7:51Speaker 3: we lived the same experiences. Our perspectives are completely different.
- 7:56Speaker 3: And so what she's writing about is her perspective on it,
- 8:01Speaker 3: and it's one hundred percent valid to her, you know
- 8:06Speaker 3: what I mean. So I don't want to read it
- 8:09Speaker 3: and be upset potentially at some of the things and
- 8:12Speaker 3: be like, well, wait a second, that's how it happened,
- 8:15Speaker 3: because that wouldn't be fair because in my perspective, it
- 8:20Speaker 3: happened different, or maybe there was a little bit of
- 8:22Speaker 3: a shift or whatever. Right, Like, even in this conversation
- 8:25Speaker 3: that you guys are having with me right now, you're
- 8:28Speaker 3: going to walk away from this conversation, even though we're
- 8:31Speaker 3: both in it with a different perspective, Right, You're going
- 8:34Speaker 3: to remember different key points because that's what's important to
- 8:38Speaker 3: you about it, and something else is going to be
- 8:40Speaker 3: different and important to me about it. So when she
- 8:43Speaker 3: and I had these these experiences that were the same,
- 8:48Speaker 3: we took something different from the experience so it's valid
- 8:53Speaker 3: for her, one hundred percent valid for her.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Mary, is this definitely a part of your growth? Do
- 8:58Speaker 4: you think anyway, nineteen twenty twenty, even thirty year old
- 9:01Speaker 4: Mary would be able to have a conversation about the
- 9:04Speaker 4: guy she just divorced, and you were saying very kind things.
- 9:07Speaker 4: He's not a bad guy. I believe he loved me.
- 9:09Speaker 4: You didn't have a negative word to say, Christine. Now
- 9:11Speaker 4: writing a book in which he is expected to certainly
- 9:14Speaker 4: bash you in some way, form or fashion. But you
- 9:17Speaker 4: even saying now that you know what that is her
- 9:19Speaker 4: take her perspective and I respect it. What is that?
- 9:23Speaker 4: And how can other people get there? Because that I
- 9:25Speaker 4: didn't know you before? But that sounds like a woman
- 9:27Speaker 4: who has grown.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Thank you. I really appreciate that. I really do, and
- 9:33Speaker 3: it's something that yes, I've I've had to grow into
- 9:38Speaker 3: this part of me. I really learned that part of
- 9:40Speaker 3: me and that part of humanness that our experiences are different,
- 9:46Speaker 3: even though there's the same, they're different and just allow
- 9:50Speaker 3: other people to have that experience. Right, So, yeah, I
- 9:53Speaker 3: do think that that is part of my growth.
- 9:55Speaker 2: I'm curious, Yes, congratulations on that.
- 9:57Speaker 1: What motivated you to grow what usually people I don't
- 10:02Speaker 1: see a lot of times people hit rock bottom. They
- 10:04Speaker 1: get so uncomfortable that it's either stay and suffer or grow.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Was there a moment like.
- 10:11Speaker 2: That for you where you had to make that choice?
- 10:13Speaker 3: I don't know that it was one specific defining moment
- 10:17Speaker 3: obviously ten years ago. Everybody knows my dark my dark
- 10:21Speaker 3: moments in my life, right, So I had I had
- 10:24Speaker 3: a really dark time in my life, but it had
- 10:27Speaker 3: been going downhill for a while, like it had. And
- 10:33Speaker 3: I guess we could say that was maybe my rock
- 10:35Speaker 3: bottom and I needed to figure out how to get
- 10:37Speaker 3: out of that. But I really started, I would say
- 10:40Speaker 3: probably five or six years ago, like you know, I
- 10:44Speaker 3: had a personal mentor, and I started doing you know,
- 10:47Speaker 3: some business retreats and some personal retreats and just like
- 10:51Speaker 3: figuring me out. And this is before I was even
- 10:55Speaker 3: talking about divorce, right, And I just needed to figure
- 10:58Speaker 3: out who I was. I wanted to do with my
- 11:01Speaker 3: life separate from my marriage that had, for all intents
- 11:06Speaker 3: and purposes, had been non existent. But I wanted to
- 11:09Speaker 3: make my life as full as I could, and so
- 11:12Speaker 3: I started investing in myself, like financially, education, reading, I
- 11:19Speaker 3: read I don't read books. I audible books. Audible is
- 11:26Speaker 3: so much easier, and I can multitask and drive and
- 11:30Speaker 3: listen to a good book at the same time. And
- 11:32Speaker 3: it's rarely a novel, right Like I don't do novels.
- 11:35Speaker 3: I do like the personal development or the financial or
- 11:39Speaker 3: the education, those kinds of things, because I think that
- 11:44Speaker 3: that growth and learning is very important. And I've noticed
- 11:48Speaker 3: that as I put more of that positive into my brain,
- 11:53Speaker 3: then I'm more positive and I'm more you know, like
- 11:58Speaker 3: I have a better outlook on life. You look, you
- 12:00Speaker 3: find what you're looking for. And if you're looking for
- 12:04Speaker 3: the bad and the hate and the anger, and you
- 12:07Speaker 3: know what I mean, if you're looking for that, you're
- 12:09Speaker 3: gonna find it. You will find you will find it.
- 12:11Speaker 4: We just were talking about this yesterday. That's why we're
- 12:13Speaker 4: kind of not Yeah, I don't want.
- 12:16Speaker 3: To find it, like it's there and come across. I'm
- 12:19Speaker 3: not gonna look for it. I know, look for the good.
- 12:22Speaker 4: You know, the growth that you're talking about. And you
- 12:25Speaker 4: use that word investing in myself, and you say even
- 12:28Speaker 4: financially investing in yourself. But we're human beings and we
- 12:32Speaker 4: all have this no matter what an inherent desire for companionship.
- 12:36Speaker 4: How important is it. I know you said you're single,
- 12:38Speaker 4: not not dating anybody exclusively, but I know it's still
- 12:41Speaker 4: pretty recent from your spiritual divorce. But right now sitting here,
- 12:46Speaker 4: how important is it to you to have a partner,
- 12:49Speaker 4: to have a life partner, a companion?
- 12:51Speaker 3: It is very important to me. It's something that I want.
- 12:54Speaker 3: I would love to have a companion, somebody that I
- 12:58Speaker 3: can just you know, shoot a text to or you know,
- 13:00Speaker 3: come home but to at the end of the night
- 13:02Speaker 3: and just just have my person. But it's not so
- 13:06Speaker 3: important to me that I will let go of myself
- 13:12Speaker 3: to find it. So I just I feel like that
- 13:16Speaker 3: my person will attract to me when the time is right,
- 13:20Speaker 3: and when the person is right, you know. And I'm like,
- 13:24Speaker 3: I'm not gonna just take anybody.
- 13:27Speaker 4: What advice would you have for a listener or not
- 13:30Speaker 4: someone who finds themselves starting over, but someone starting out.
- 13:34Speaker 4: You were nineteen when you got married, You went through
- 13:36Speaker 4: so much growth and you're a different person. Now, what
- 13:38Speaker 4: would you tell somebody who's nineteen, twenty twenty one, twenty two,
- 13:41Speaker 4: a young woman who is not quite done developing? What
- 13:45Speaker 4: would you what advice would you give or even warning
- 13:48Speaker 4: signs if that's what it called, but even encouragement maybe
- 13:51Speaker 4: to not be in a position to where you end
- 13:54Speaker 4: up forty fifty and go, ah, this is who I
- 13:58Speaker 4: am and this is who I have grown into and
- 14:00Speaker 4: now I'm starting over. You do you know what I'm saying?
- 14:02Speaker 4: How can or is it even possible? Brof you could
- 14:05Speaker 4: tell me this as well, that's not how it works.
- 14:08Speaker 4: You got to go through that hell and maybe that's
- 14:10Speaker 4: it both through life. You got to go through it.
- 14:12Speaker 3: You have to. You have to. You have to own it,
- 14:16Speaker 3: you have to embrace it, and you have to you
- 14:19Speaker 3: have to excuse to do it. You have to screw up,
- 14:22Speaker 3: and you're nobody's going to listen to any advice at
- 14:25Speaker 3: anybody else. I mean, it's so true. It's a good point,
- 14:28Speaker 3: but they have they have to live it. Like people
- 14:32Speaker 3: ask me all the time. Do you regret marrying Cody?
- 14:36Speaker 3: Do you regret polygamy? Do you regret TV show? Do
- 14:38Speaker 3: you regret you know? Your sister wives? And no, I
- 14:43Speaker 3: don't regret any of it because I am who I
- 14:47Speaker 3: am today because of those experiences, I might be a
- 14:51Speaker 3: very well likely would be a different person, and I
- 14:54Speaker 3: might have liked that person had I not gone through
- 14:56Speaker 3: those experiences, but I will never know what that person
- 15:00Speaker 3: would be without those experiences. But I really really like
- 15:03Speaker 3: who I am, and so one hundred percent I don't
- 15:07Speaker 3: regret those experiences because it made me who I am.
- 15:10Speaker 3: So I think if if we can look at our
- 15:14Speaker 3: lives like it's just an experience. And you know, I
- 15:17Speaker 3: was talking to somebody recently and she was like, yeah,
- 15:21Speaker 3: but I don't know which decision to make on the situation,
- 15:26Speaker 3: and it's like, well, just make one, it doesn't matter.
- 15:28Speaker 3: But what if I choose the wrong one, then you
- 15:31Speaker 3: make a different decision after that. You're not going to
- 15:34Speaker 3: know it's the wrong one until you do it and
- 15:36Speaker 3: you get into it, and maybe neither of them are wrong.
- 15:39Speaker 3: They're just going to take you on different paths.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Yep.
- 15:43Speaker 3: It's just where are you going to go with it?
- 15:44Speaker 3: What are you going to do with it?
- 15:46Speaker 1: You get to a certain place in your life and
- 15:48Speaker 1: it clicks, it all makes sense. I'm curious with the
- 15:51Speaker 1: journey you had on Sister Wives, did you get any
- 15:56Speaker 1: lasting friendships like sisterhood? Any of the sister wife and
- 16:00Speaker 1: you have a bond that can't be broken. How would
- 16:04Speaker 1: you describe like, Uh, now, we don't.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Know no one, no.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Did you have hopes that that could change in the future.
- 16:12Speaker 3: I am always open to healing relationships. I am always
- 16:17Speaker 3: open to having the heart conversations, because conversations are going
- 16:22Speaker 3: to have to be hard, especially in our family, if
- 16:26Speaker 3: we want to move forward and heal anything and have
- 16:31Speaker 3: any sort of relationship, They're going to have to be
- 16:33Speaker 3: heard conversations because I have my boundaries now that I
- 16:37Speaker 3: didn't used to have. And I think that's one of
- 16:40Speaker 3: the things that some of the people in my family
- 16:43Speaker 3: are recognizing about me, that I have boundaries and I'm
- 16:46Speaker 3: not going to lay over and be walked all over anymore.
- 16:49Speaker 3: I've always had I've always had a very strong voice,
- 16:54Speaker 3: but I know how to use it now.
- 16:58Speaker 4: Always had a strong voice. We heard that about to you.
- 17:00Speaker 4: If somebody keeps telling us you're a lot, we heard it.
- 17:04Speaker 4: We heard it from you. So you're telling us you
- 17:09Speaker 4: and Robin, you and Janelle those relationships, you know said
- 17:12Speaker 4: not great now? But how much are we going to
- 17:14Speaker 4: see any difficult conversations in the upcoming season? What do
- 17:16Speaker 4: we see?
- 17:18Speaker 3: I think we'll see some interactions and you know, maybe
- 17:23Speaker 3: a little bit of healing and maybe a little bit
- 17:25Speaker 3: of struggles, because I mean, if we're not doing that,
- 17:30Speaker 3: then we're not cinceterized, you know what I mean.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Don't last fifteen seasons by having high tea.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Conflict cells, that is for sure. Do you want to
- 17:54Speaker 1: get married again?
- 17:56Speaker 3: I would love to get married, Yes I would, but
- 18:00Speaker 3: only to the right person. That's for me. I'm not
- 18:03Speaker 3: going again. I'm not going to just jump into a
- 18:05Speaker 3: marriage that just because I want to have a marriage, right,
- 18:10Speaker 3: Like this person is like, well, we'll figure things out.
- 18:15Speaker 3: We'll figure out if the we're the right person, you know,
- 18:18Speaker 3: like Cody and I jumped into our marriage really quickly,
- 18:22Speaker 3: and like I knew him for two months at the
- 18:25Speaker 3: time that we got engaged, and then we're engaged for
- 18:28Speaker 3: four months, you know what I mean, like six months
- 18:31Speaker 3: from the time we met to the time we got married.
- 18:33Speaker 3: I'm not doing that again.
- 18:35Speaker 1: I have a similar experience. Yes, and we were both
- 18:37Speaker 1: child brides and grooms. So we get it. We get it.
- 18:41Speaker 2: You just you don't know what you don't know.
- 18:43Speaker 4: We want to clear that up.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I think that for me, coming from a religious culture,
- 18:49Speaker 3: that really promoted and taught you get married quick, because
- 18:56Speaker 3: you know, I mean, that's the thing to do. You
- 18:58Speaker 3: want to get married and then you want to have
- 19:00Speaker 3: all these babies and then you know your exaltation is set,
- 19:04Speaker 3: you know what I mean. And so that's really what
- 19:07Speaker 3: they taught in our church culture, and that's not what
- 19:12Speaker 3: I agree with. Now.
- 19:15Speaker 4: So Mary, you said you wanted to Definitely you had
- 19:18Speaker 4: a quick answer, Yes, want to get married again. So
- 19:21Speaker 4: let us know and on this look on I do
- 19:23Speaker 4: part two on this podcast, we have made some love connections.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Now I'm not saying we're going to put your number
- 19:28Speaker 4: out there too, huh So yeah, So what I'm saying is, Mary,
- 19:33Speaker 4: you have an opportunity. I am curious. What are you
- 19:36Speaker 4: looking for? What type of guy? Characteristics, background, height, whatever,
- 19:41Speaker 4: What are you looking for?
- 19:42Speaker 3: Okay, I'm looking for a very nice, charismatic man who's
- 19:47Speaker 3: very confident in who he is, not cocky, but confident.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Somebody who knows who he is, is successful in business,
- 19:58Speaker 3: whether it's his own or or he works for somebody.
- 20:01Speaker 3: I don't care if somebody successful and matches my energy
- 20:05Speaker 3: like I travel, he doesn't have to travel with me,
- 20:09Speaker 3: but I would love for him to travel with me sometimes,
- 20:11Speaker 3: but I would love for him to be okay if
- 20:13Speaker 3: I have to go do work and be okay with
- 20:16Speaker 3: me not around, you know, but also can cheer me
- 20:22Speaker 3: on in my business building and my ventures and allow
- 20:26Speaker 3: me to cheer him on in his as well. They
- 20:28Speaker 3: don't have to be the same, but we need to
- 20:31Speaker 3: support each other.
- 20:32Speaker 4: She just described me perfectly in describing what she wants,
- 20:39Speaker 4: except for the cocky and confident. I'm more cocky than confident.
- 20:43Speaker 4: That's where you lost me. Yeah, nobody would have confident.
- 20:46Speaker 1: He's cocky, but just the right amount of cocky, just
- 20:52Speaker 1: enough to be like, that's interesting.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Why is he so?
- 20:55Speaker 1: Why does he like himself so much? Maybe I should
- 20:59Speaker 1: find out? Would you date younger? I highly suggest just
- 21:03Speaker 1: having lived that.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Okay, you know what, My best friend is always telling
- 21:06Speaker 3: me that it's okay to go younger, And there's like
- 21:09Speaker 3: a certain cutoff where it's what's your cut off officially, cougar?
- 21:13Speaker 3: I don't know. So I'm fifty four. I'm closer to
- 21:17Speaker 3: fifty five now than I am to fifty four. But
- 21:21Speaker 3: it's really weird for me to think about dating somebody
- 21:25Speaker 3: who's fifty because like, oh, and that's like four years.
- 21:30Speaker 1: We have a four and a half year aged I'm
- 21:33Speaker 1: four and a half years older than TJ.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I'm fifty two and he just turned forty eight.
- 21:37Speaker 4: And it's weird. Mary, it's weird to be with it.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Yet I can see how it would be.
- 21:43Speaker 4: No, well, you say, I thought you were going to
- 21:45Speaker 4: say like thirty.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Eight or something, because you were talking about your like
- 21:49Speaker 1: matched energy. And I will tell you I just from
- 21:52Speaker 1: my experience, I've I've gone older, I've had the same.
- 21:55Speaker 1: This is my first time with a young man, and
- 21:58Speaker 1: our energies are very much aligned in a way that
- 22:01Speaker 1: they weren't before.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Okay, well, you guys seem to have a good vibe,
- 22:05Speaker 3: so that's cool. Maybe I'll maybe I'll be open to
- 22:10Speaker 3: you know, maybe four or five years younger. We'll see
- 22:12Speaker 3: what happens. But I don't know a forty.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Year old totally saying, don't be closed off to it.
- 22:17Speaker 4: And it's true. You can meet some thirty eight year
- 22:20Speaker 4: old men who aren't even close to your youthful energy.
- 22:23Speaker 4: It's possible. And then you meet a fifty five year
- 22:25Speaker 4: old guy who could you know, run circles around you. You
- 22:28Speaker 4: never know, So just you never know.
- 22:30Speaker 3: So I'm definitely not like I mean, you know, there's
- 22:35Speaker 3: values and there's like the energy and things like that
- 22:39Speaker 3: that I'm definitely looking for. But I'm not like closing
- 22:42Speaker 3: anything off, Like I'm open to options.
- 22:45Speaker 2: So I love that.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I love that, and I will tell you it freaked
- 22:48Speaker 1: me out at first. Two he was laugh at me.
- 22:50Speaker 1: I was like, does it not like you know, you
- 22:52Speaker 1: could absolutely date someone ten years younger than you and
- 22:55Speaker 1: you know now you're going up almost five years, and
- 22:58Speaker 1: so you start to think.
- 22:59Speaker 2: But it did freak me out at first.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Freak me out too, freak me out nightly, to be honest.
- 23:05Speaker 4: But no, Mary, we do a segment here, a thing
- 23:08Speaker 4: we call love Stories where we interview couples and just
- 23:11Speaker 4: ask all of them the exact same questions and it
- 23:13Speaker 4: doesn't matter what their backgrounds are. You find this commonality
- 23:17Speaker 4: in relationships. It would be an honor to one day
- 23:19Speaker 4: if we could get you back with your possible partner
- 23:23Speaker 4: for that love story series. So just throw that out there.
- 23:27Speaker 4: We'll keep an eye on you.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Yeah, keep your eye on me, and I get a partner,
- 23:31Speaker 3: invite you back.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Well, Mary, you know what, we really appreciate this.
- 23:36Speaker 1: We know you obviously have lived a fairly open life,
- 23:40Speaker 1: you know, in front of the camera and living a
- 23:42Speaker 1: life that most people are curious about or even judge.
- 23:45Speaker 1: So I just think it's awesome when you're willing to
- 23:48Speaker 1: be vulnerable and just say, hey, here's what I do,
- 23:52Speaker 1: here's what I did, and here's what I learned. So
- 23:54Speaker 1: it does have an impact on so many people. So
- 23:56Speaker 1: we're rooting for you. We are rooting. We always root
- 23:59Speaker 1: for love, but we believe that there is someone out
- 24:03Speaker 1: there for you and you're gonna find each other. I
- 24:05Speaker 1: really do think that. So anyway, we're appreciate. I know
- 24:08Speaker 1: the people listening who are searching for love as well.
- 24:11Speaker 1: The whole point of the podcast is for folks who
- 24:13Speaker 1: maybe didn't get it right the first time, but are
- 24:15Speaker 1: still walking that path towards love. So you fit that
- 24:19Speaker 1: bill perfectly, and I hope you've inspired a lot of
- 24:21Speaker 1: people who.
