- 0:10Speaker 3: What's the procedure, everyone?
- 0:11Speaker 4: What's the procedure?
- 0:12Speaker 5: Stay calm!
- 0:15Speaker 1: Your most music drive home.
- 0:18Speaker 6: I have been waiting for this moment.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Like an empty fire.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Weekdays, 3 to 7 p.m. The show that drives you home.
- 0:28Speaker 6: You know, my entire timeline is filled with like, oh,
- 0:31Speaker 6: I had to jump into this trend. I saw one
- 0:33Speaker 6: of those things on LinkedIn. You think LinkedIn's only for
- 0:35Speaker 6: dating and occasionally getting a job?
- 0:37Speaker 2: No.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Stand by for the show that drives the big interviews.
- 0:41Speaker 6: Now that you're comfortable, Martin Garrix, welcome to KF94. 5. Thank you.
- 0:44Speaker 2: What an introduction.
- 0:45Speaker 1: The show.
- 0:47Speaker 6: Michael Bublé, it's so great to chat to you.
- 0:48Speaker 7: I want to say thank you.
- 0:49Speaker 6: To you for having this beautiful conversation with me.
- 0:51Speaker 1: The show drives the most music and the most fun.
- 0:56Speaker 6: Smallest thing that made you decide, uh-uh, no communication anymore.
- 1:00Speaker 8: I experienced that once with a man and I said,
- 1:02Speaker 8: how do you cut your toenails? And he said, when
- 1:04Speaker 8: they are ready, they will break.
- 1:05Speaker 6: I call it pandemic. Cape Town's got talent. It's a
- 1:08Speaker 6: beautiful one.
- 1:09Speaker 2: 3 to 7 p.m.
- 1:10Speaker 1: On KFM 94.5. Keep calm and don't. The show that
- 1:14Speaker 1: drives you home.
- 1:15Speaker 2: We start.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Your most music drive home. The Flash Drive with Carl Wastey.
- 1:29Speaker 6: Here we go. Welcome to your show, The Flash Drive,
- 1:32Speaker 6: KFM 94.5. It's a brand new day. We're so close
- 1:34Speaker 6: to the weekend. It's feeling good. So let's continue that
- 1:38Speaker 6: good feeling for you all the way through until 7
- 1:40Speaker 6: o'clock on your station, your show, with your person, Cassidy
- 1:43Speaker 6: Jade Nicholson.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Hey, hello.
- 1:45Speaker 2: How's it?
- 1:46Speaker 6: Highlight of your day was?
- 1:47Speaker 4: Spending time with you.
- 1:49Speaker 6: That's it. We had a lovely time. I'm glad you
- 1:51Speaker 6: said that. I'm glad. We went to go visit one
- 1:53Speaker 6: of Cape Town's best agencies. We went to go there
- 1:56Speaker 6: to drink their coffee.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Yeah, we did.
- 1:57Speaker 6: And it was nice. And now we're back here drinking
- 2:00Speaker 6: our own coffee and getting ready for you. Because we
- 2:03Speaker 6: were chatting about you and I just hope you know
- 2:05Speaker 6: that it wasn't like a skinner story. It was just basically,
- 2:07Speaker 6: hopefully you'll win the concept today. Hopefully you'll win a
- 2:10Speaker 6: two and a half thousand cashback. Hopefully you'll win up
- 2:12Speaker 6: to five thousand rand for unmasking the hits. Hopefully you'll
- 2:14Speaker 6: win up to ten thousand rand for getting a day off.
- 2:16Speaker 6: Hopefully you'll add a song to Vanilla's. Maybe you'll chip
- 2:19Speaker 6: in for the one up later. We just have a
- 2:20Speaker 6: lot of hopes.
- 2:21Speaker 4: We do have a lot of hopes and we just
- 2:23Speaker 4: want everyone to win.
- 2:25Speaker 8: It sounds like listening to the show is just a win, win,
- 2:28Speaker 8: win experience for all.
- 2:30Speaker 6: It's got to be that. So please forget about Cape
- 2:32Speaker 6: Town's wind. Just think about winning. That's what I'm talking about.
- 2:36Speaker 6: We like to distract from the wind. So now that
- 2:38Speaker 6: you know, I'm glad you're here. Welcome to your show,
- 2:40Speaker 6: your flash drive, KFM 94.5. Madonna and JT will start
- 2:45Speaker 6: you off. It's four minutes. Bass Persuades by Miley on
- 2:53Speaker 6: the flash drive on KFM 94.5.
- 2:55Speaker 4: I'm going to add a.
- 2:59Speaker 6: Little bit more bass to my voice.
- 3:02Speaker 4: No, I got it.
- 3:02Speaker 6: Just to make sure that that was there for you. Welcome.
- 3:06Speaker 6: Almost at the weekend. Lekker. I'm Carl Wastey. No middle name.
- 3:10Speaker 6: This lady has got a middle name. It's Jade. It's
- 3:12Speaker 6: a color, it's a palace, and it's her middle name.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Yeah, it is my middle name.
- 3:17Speaker 8: And thank you so much for that because every time
- 3:20Speaker 8: I go out, people don't know how to address me
- 3:23Speaker 8: without the middle name, which is crazy.
- 3:26Speaker 4: So it's Hi, Cassidy Jade Nicholson.
- 3:28Speaker 6: It's part of your brand now. It is. It's CJN.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 6: So I'm looking forward to you having a little business
- 3:34Speaker 6: on the side. CJN. Have you ever thought about branding
- 3:36Speaker 6: yourself and like having like a product or something out
- 3:39Speaker 6: there that's got CJN on it?
- 3:41Speaker 2: No.
- 3:41Speaker 9: Why?
- 3:42Speaker 6: Why?
- 3:43Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:44Speaker 4: I don't feel like I'm at a point where I need.
- 3:46Speaker 6: To make merch. I think you are. I say, no, no,
- 3:47Speaker 6: you need to make merch.
- 3:48Speaker 4: I need to make merch?
- 3:49Speaker 6: CJN Savory Snacks.
- 3:53Speaker 10: Okay.
- 3:53Speaker 6: Yes, think about this. So you offer convenient savory snacks,
- 3:57Speaker 6: but it's CJN Snacks. So basically call it Studio Snacks.
- 4:00Speaker 6: Inspired by your journey in radio.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Okay.
- 4:03Speaker 6: And you make these little snacks that are for the
- 4:06Speaker 6: discerning palate. People that don't want a sweet treat, but
- 4:09Speaker 6: they want something. Because I saw a post of yours
- 4:11Speaker 6: where you're like, Let's get to know me. And you
- 4:13Speaker 6: were holding a coffee cup and you were at a
- 4:15Speaker 6: bench somewhere, probably in Heart Bay or maybe even in Hormones.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Also Peregrine.
- 4:21Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, Peregrine. Here we go. And you were saying
- 4:23Speaker 6: like what you don't know about me. I don't like
- 4:24Speaker 6: sweet treats. I like savory things.
- 4:26Speaker 11: Yes.
- 4:27Speaker 6: So I look at you and if I were to
- 4:29Speaker 6: be a brand manager, I would say you should come
- 4:31Speaker 6: up with CJN's Studio Snacks.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Studio Snacks.
- 4:34Speaker 12: Yes.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Okay.
- 4:36Speaker 4: I'm writing it down.
- 4:37Speaker 6: Yeah, so I think that would be quite nice. And
- 4:38Speaker 6: I mean, you'll have a couple of options there and
- 4:40Speaker 6: you can mix some snacks together as well. What would
- 4:43Speaker 6: be your main seller? Have you thought about that in
- 4:45Speaker 6: terms of snacks, savoury-wise?
- 4:47Speaker 4: Dried fruit. Dried fruit.
- 4:50Speaker 6: Dried fruit. But there's a lot of sweet in the
- 4:52Speaker 6: dried fruit.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Oh no, it would be a Turkish apricot.
- 4:55Speaker 6: So you want to add salt to the dried fruit.
- 4:57Speaker 6: You see how my mouth is watering already.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Okay, good.
- 4:59Speaker 6: So we're going to have that. So salted dried fruit.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Yes.
- 5:02Speaker 6: Very good.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Now I'm in a place.
- 5:05Speaker 6: Salted dried fruit sounds very good. Especially, you know what
- 5:07Speaker 6: I love about dried fruit? I love the ears.
- 5:10Speaker 4: You love the ears?
- 5:11Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 6: Back in the day when I first tried dried fruit,
- 5:15Speaker 6: I was offered my very first piece of dried fruit.
- 5:17Speaker 6: They handed an ear. And I was like, sorry, what?
- 5:22Speaker 6: The apricots are shaped like ears in dried fruit. So
- 5:25Speaker 6: I was like, oh, this is cool. I'm eating an
- 5:27Speaker 6: ear and it was very fun to me. From then on,
- 5:30Speaker 6: I was always after the ears. What I do realize
- 5:32Speaker 6: is that in dried fruit, no one ever enjoyed the
- 5:34Speaker 6: dried apple. I think it was kind of like a
- 5:37Speaker 6: strange sort of foamy texture. But I chowed that. I
- 5:40Speaker 6: love the dry apple. So that's your first snack.
- 5:43Speaker 8: You have that thing where you'll eat all the other
- 5:45Speaker 8: stuff that no one else eats.
- 5:46Speaker 6: Exactly. Because that's how you grow up.
- 5:47Speaker 4: I don't like to waste.
- 5:48Speaker 6: Yes, I don't like to waste. So... CJN Studio Snacks.
- 5:52Speaker 4: CJN Studio Snacks.
- 5:53Speaker 6: Coming soon. Exciting times. I love branding people like that.
- 5:57Speaker 6: If you need a product, let me know. Pietras' product,
- 5:59Speaker 6: I've already thought about it. Yes. So, Pietras will have
- 6:02Speaker 6: a line of luxury t-shirts that speak for you when
- 6:07Speaker 6: you cannot speak in situations. And he will have a
- 6:10Speaker 6: bunch of these comments that would allow him to walk
- 6:14Speaker 6: into a room and they will speak for him.
- 6:15Speaker 4: And what about Jody?
- 6:17Speaker 6: Oh, Joe has got these... He's got the best job.
- 6:20Speaker 6: What is it? He will do a line of luxury ringtones.
- 6:24Speaker 6: Because no one really does ringtones anymore.
- 6:27Speaker 2: No.
- 6:27Speaker 6: And he's going to bring it back.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Bring it back.
- 6:29Speaker 6: And they'll be like luxury ringtones. He'll do ringtones that
- 6:32Speaker 6: will be personalized as well. And he'll have this really
- 6:36Speaker 6: cool thing. So instead of Suno, his thing will be
- 6:39Speaker 6: called Juno. And it's going to be great. And he'll
- 6:43Speaker 6: have like luxury ringtones. So I've already branded him as well.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Okay.
- 6:46Speaker 6: So it'll be like the ringtone. It'll be. K-K-K-K-Kassidy.
- 6:50Speaker 2: K-K-K-K-Kassidy.
- 6:51Speaker 6: And you can do alarms as well. It'll be very cool.
- 6:53Speaker 4: I'm into it.
- 6:54Speaker 6: Yeah, that's it.
- 6:55Speaker 4: And yours is collagen, of course, and protein.
- 6:57Speaker 6: I told you about this whole brand that I'm working on.
- 6:59Speaker 6: Collagen is going to be a thing. It'll have electrolytes,
- 7:02Speaker 6: protein in it as well. It's going to be a
- 7:04Speaker 6: staple in everybody's... In anybody's repertoire. I promise it's going
- 7:09Speaker 6: to be good and it's going to be easy on
- 7:11Speaker 6: the gut so you can do high rocks. So, perfect. So,
- 7:14Speaker 6: it's going to be great. Looking forward to it.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 7:17Speaker 6: Thank you very much for being a part of our preamble.
- 7:19Speaker 6: Can I now invite you? Why are you smiling? Our
- 7:21Speaker 6: heritage is made up of traditions and people and moments,
- 7:24Speaker 6: and some of those moments have Clix products in them.

- 8:03Speaker 2: Is this Chanel?
- 8:08Speaker 6: Speaking hi hello chanel i'm intrigued heritage items items that
- 8:13Speaker 6: have with them a story about culture about your family
- 8:17Speaker 6: what is that item for you are you ready for
- 8:20Speaker 6: it i am ready let's do it it is.
- 8:25Speaker 11: Okay, you remember that.
- 8:26Speaker 6: Okay, we all called it. I don't know if we
- 8:29Speaker 6: called it the same. Did we all call it?
- 8:30Speaker 4: We all called it monkey's blood.
- 8:31Speaker 6: Monkey blood.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:32Speaker 14: I was going to say that initially.
- 8:34Speaker 11: So I was like, hang on.
- 8:35Speaker 14: Maybe you guys don't know what I'm saying.
- 8:37Speaker 10: So let's call it the proper name.
- 8:39Speaker 14: I'll be blue.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Do you know that the other day, right?
- 8:44Speaker 8: I got a pain, an anal pain on my palm.
- 8:48Speaker 6: An anal pain?
- 8:49Speaker 4: An anal pain.
- 8:50Speaker 8: I forgot the word. I got like a graze from Jim.
- 8:54Speaker 8: And then my mom said we need to put Mercurochrome
- 8:56Speaker 8: on it.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Yep.
- 8:57Speaker 8: Can I tell you the pain that I went through?
- 9:01Speaker 8: And I was like, what? You used to do this
- 9:03Speaker 8: to me as a child? Because I had just forgotten
- 9:05Speaker 8: about it.
- 9:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:06Speaker 14: And it's staying for a while.
- 9:08Speaker 11: It doesn't come off.
- 9:09Speaker 4: But you know what? But you know what?
- 9:12Speaker 8: We would dry out that sore so quickly and then
- 9:15Speaker 8: we were ready to go the next day.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Sure.
- 9:18Speaker 14: Yes, and add some more bruises to the list.
- 9:20Speaker 4: That is true.
- 9:21Speaker 6: I mean, just by playing football, you'd always get a
- 9:25Speaker 6: thigh grass graze and that thing would just be plucked
- 9:28Speaker 6: on there and it would look like a scene, like
- 9:33Speaker 6: a massive injury scene. Monkey blood. But you popped some
- 9:36Speaker 6: of that mercurochrome on there. What a great memory. Thank
- 9:38Speaker 6: you so much. What a beautiful one. In fact, let's
- 9:42Speaker 6: give you a cashback.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Oh, that's amazing.
- 9:45Speaker 6: Thank you so much. No, you're most welcome. And thank
- 9:47Speaker 6: you so much for sharing. You're a star. Have a
- 9:49Speaker 6: beautiful day, Chanel. And please remember that clicks always brings
- 9:54Speaker 6: you the best in beauty and its next arrival is
- 9:57Speaker 6: worth listening out for. and i have been invited to
- 10:01Speaker 6: a certain launch of this so has cassidy she hasn't
- 10:04Speaker 6: seen her emails yet the uk's number one skincare brand
- 10:07Speaker 6: is coming to south africa bringing nearly 90 years of
- 10:10Speaker 6: pioneering science and beauty expertise with it the name is
- 10:14Speaker 6: still under wraps even though we know what it is
- 10:17Speaker 6: if you look at emails, Cassidy, but not for much longer.
- 10:20Speaker 6: Make your next move. Your best is going to be
- 10:25Speaker 6: your normal after this. So, coming soon, an exclusive at Clix.
- 10:30Speaker 6: Something is on the way just for you. And win
- 10:32Speaker 6: again tomorrow. It is Monarch Panorama. It's on your show,
- 10:40Speaker 6: Flash Drive KFM 94.5. Hopefully you're doing wonderful today. And
- 10:45Speaker 6: I know you were intrigued when I said to you
- 10:47Speaker 6: Cape Town and NASA, right? Are you intrigued? You were
- 10:50Speaker 6: very intrigued. Well, you know, let's just make sure that you....
- 10:55Speaker 4: This is exactly the right thing to play.
- 10:58Speaker 6: I had this feeling and I thought it would work
- 11:00Speaker 6: for you. Now, I just heard, and I'm sure if
- 11:02Speaker 6: you haven't been on your socials, you may not have,
- 11:05Speaker 6: but Cape Town could play a very unexpected role in
- 11:08Speaker 6: NASA's 2028 Artemis 4 mission to the moon. The NASA
- 11:12Speaker 6: medical and contingency team has visited Christian Barnard Memorial Hospital,
- 11:17Speaker 6: checking out its level one trauma center and emergency services.
- 11:20Speaker 6: I didn't even know this, but do you know that
- 11:21Speaker 6: Cape Town is an area designated for potential splashdowns? For
- 11:25Speaker 6: crew on lunar missions. We are a contingency plan. If
- 11:29Speaker 6: something goes wrong, they splash down in Cape Town. And
- 11:32Speaker 6: they wanted to check our facilities to see if we're
- 11:34Speaker 6: all up to scratch and ready to go and have
- 11:36Speaker 6: some key learnings. I didn't even know this, that we
- 11:39Speaker 6: were on the map.
- 11:39Speaker 4: I didn't know this.
- 11:40Speaker 6: For lunar missions, we are a splashdown backup.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Hey.
- 11:46Speaker 6: I know. That's it.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Okay.
- 11:49Speaker 6: That's what I just shared.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 11:51Speaker 6: Cork Bay.
- 11:53Speaker 4: Don't.
- 11:54Speaker 8: I've said what I needed to say. I don't want
- 11:56Speaker 8: to put my foot in my mouth.
- 11:58Speaker 6: You said all the right things. Trust me. Okay. Cork
- 12:01Speaker 6: Bay has landed on one of Time Out's lists of
- 12:05Speaker 6: 40 coolest neighborhoods in the world.
- 12:08Speaker 8: Yes.
- 12:09Speaker 6: That's why. So you did say the right thing.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Perfect.
- 12:12Speaker 6: It's the only South African neighborhood to make the list.
- 12:15Speaker 6: So I'm so sorry, Hout Bay, Barrow, Mulderton Rural.
- 12:20Speaker 4: I'm telling you, it's because people walk barefoot too much.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Burgundy is... Burgundy estate, sorry. We have such cool areas here.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:28Speaker 6: I don't think Taimad realizes that the real true tourism
- 12:34Speaker 6: potential out of all of our areas.
- 12:36Speaker 4: I know.
- 12:37Speaker 8: Like, I make jokes about the barefoot thing, but it's like,
- 12:39Speaker 8: when you go to an area, right, you can really
- 12:42Speaker 8: see what the community likes.
- 12:43Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Because.
- 12:44Speaker 8: You can see based off the types of restaurants, the
- 12:46Speaker 8: little stores they have. I mean, you go street down
- 12:50Speaker 8: street down street in Hout Bay and you find a
- 12:52Speaker 8: cute little like artisanal jewelry store that you can make
- 12:55Speaker 8: your own jewelry and get your own gems.
- 12:58Speaker 4: That's why I've got so many crystals.
- 12:59Speaker 8: Like, you know, but if I came to the north,
- 13:02Speaker 8: I'd probably get all these places where you could customize
- 13:04Speaker 8: your braai.
- 13:05Speaker 6: And tools.
- 13:06Speaker 4: And tools.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Cars probably.
- 13:08Speaker 6: I literally have personalized bride tools. Of course you do.
- 13:11Speaker 6: Because I have to. It is actually an initiation process
- 13:14Speaker 6: when moving to Paro. They asked me like, where's your
- 13:18Speaker 6: bride tool?
- 13:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:18Speaker 6: And I said, it's here. I'm like, oh, it's, and
- 13:22Speaker 6: then I got it done. And then I got the
- 13:23Speaker 6: name done. So that's the thing.
- 13:25Speaker 9: No, but.
- 13:27Speaker 6: I have a challenge, man. We have such liquor areas,
- 13:30Speaker 6: but all of the like the real cool fine dining
- 13:32Speaker 6: spots that people are really amazed at. It's like Waterfront,
- 13:37Speaker 6: City Center, The Fringe, Woodstock. Pluck like a fine dining spot. Like,
- 13:43Speaker 6: I mean, there's a couple of places on the Vescas
- 13:45Speaker 6: that I love. Like, you know, there's really good spots there.
- 13:48Speaker 6: But why not put a fine dining restaurant in the
- 13:50Speaker 6: middle of Mitchell's Plain? Like, why not be bold like
- 13:53Speaker 6: that and get the tourists to go see more of
- 13:55Speaker 6: the city as opposed to, like, the thing is all
- 13:59Speaker 6: in the hot spot of the fine dining areas. It's
- 14:01Speaker 6: like when you're a fine dining restaurant, you're literally, like,
- 14:04Speaker 6: you're placing yourself where these other fine dining spots are.
- 14:07Speaker 6: I just, I challenge... more people and places and retail stores,
- 14:11Speaker 6: et cetera, like put yourself in the community. And I
- 14:14Speaker 6: know you're going to be like, oh, this, what about
- 14:15Speaker 6: the LSM and the demographic? I'm like, stop it, man.
- 14:18Speaker 6: There are people there that I guarantee you will welcome
- 14:21Speaker 6: people from outside other areas. In fact, maybe that's the
- 14:24Speaker 6: only way people from outside areas will actually see your community.
- 14:28Speaker 6: Literally put a fine dining restaurant in the middle of
- 14:31Speaker 6: like a, a Paro.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 14:34Speaker 6: In the middle of Mitchell's playing, you know, just, I mean,
- 14:38Speaker 6: Athlon already has one. It's called Golden Dish. Or Wembley.
- 14:44Speaker 8: Right.
- 14:45Speaker 6: That's my opinion on fine dining. But I just think
- 14:48Speaker 6: we should be utilizing more of our communities to be
- 14:52Speaker 6: the welcome committees of tourists. We have a lot of
- 14:55Speaker 6: focus on city center, mountain. But there are other areas
- 15:00Speaker 6: that you need to see. I promise you, I was
- 15:03Speaker 6: in Sabran Park last night. I went to go fetch
- 15:05Speaker 6: my car from my super mechanic. My golfie.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:09Speaker 6: They have one of the best views of the mountain
- 15:11Speaker 6: from Sabram Park. I promise you. And that would be
- 15:14Speaker 6: like seen as an area that's not as, you know,
- 15:17Speaker 6: posh to put something in. Yes, of course. Just be bold.
- 15:22Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 15:22Speaker 6: With your restaurant location choice. Stop thinking about other community
- 15:25Speaker 6: doesn't have enough money to come to a fine dining restaurant.
- 15:27Speaker 6: And you know what? I promise you. People are going
- 15:30Speaker 6: to come through there and they're going to say, this
- 15:32Speaker 6: area is actually nice. I've always avoided it because I
- 15:35Speaker 6: liked my little bubble that I was living in. And
- 15:37Speaker 6: I'd say, no, pluck it in an area. I promise
- 15:40Speaker 6: you the community is going to surround you with support.
- 15:43Speaker 6: And you can actually end up employing staff from that community,
- 15:47Speaker 6: future culinary stars, tourism stars from that community as well. Sorry, man,
- 15:51Speaker 6: I went on a little bit of a TED Talk there,
- 15:53Speaker 6: but I do believe the city has so much more
- 15:54Speaker 6: to offer than the big four or big five of...
- 15:58Speaker 6: The tourist locations. We've got other spots we need to visit.
- 16:01Speaker 6: So Cork Bay, liquor. So well done. It was a
- 16:05Speaker 6: big study on them being the coolest neighborhoods. But we
- 16:07Speaker 6: have other cool neighborhoods.
- 16:09Speaker 4: It starts with Cork Bay.
- 16:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:10Speaker 4: We'll build it up.
- 16:11Speaker 6: We need to start building it up. We're going to
- 16:12Speaker 6: show them. Every area has something unique in it that
- 16:15Speaker 6: people need to see. I know you have an area
- 16:18Speaker 6: in your mind. You're like, no, people need to come
- 16:20Speaker 6: to this area. They need to come to Paro and
- 16:22Speaker 6: see what we have to offer in that area.
- 16:24Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 16:25Speaker 6: And there's a lot to offer. Trust me. Because when
- 16:28Speaker 6: I first moved to Paro, I realized people bride in
- 16:30Speaker 6: the front yard. And I said, you know what? We
- 16:31Speaker 6: should just do an entire community front yard bride.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:35Speaker 6: And then have a tour for tourists. Still can't believe it.
- 16:38Speaker 6: Then you can taste all of the cuisine through the gate.
- 16:46Speaker 9: Wow.
- 16:47Speaker 6: Hey, we should do that.
- 16:48Speaker 4: Walk down the road just tasting, tasting.
- 16:50Speaker 6: In your area, you should have like a barefoot walk.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 6: For your area.
- 16:57Speaker 4: For the grounding.
- 16:58Speaker 6: Yes. Grounding and hemp. You should have like something to
- 17:02Speaker 6: do with hemp.
- 17:02Speaker 4: And we all just burn incense.
- 17:04Speaker 6: That's what you need to do.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:05Speaker 6: And you need to do like a crystal walk.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:08Speaker 6: Everyone holds their crystals. Yeah, exactly. It's not a good
- 17:11Speaker 6: thing to say in Cape Town. Sorry, but I meant
- 17:13Speaker 6: the courts and the gemstones.
- 17:19Speaker 15: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:19Speaker 6: Sorry, gemstones. That's it.
- 17:21Speaker 15: Cool.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Great. Anyway, that's what I found for you. Well done,
- 17:23Speaker 6: Cork Bay. But we have other areas here too, man.
- 17:26Speaker 6: You know? I do love Cork Bay, but I know
- 17:29Speaker 6: your area's got something to offer as well. It's about
- 17:31Speaker 6: time we put that on the map. What did you
- 17:33Speaker 6: just say, Cassidy?
- 17:35Speaker 4: Can I say it in the same vigor that I
- 17:36Speaker 4: said it before?
- 17:39Speaker 6: When last did I hear the sugar babes? No, you
- 17:41Speaker 6: got it all wrong. Do you know where you work?
- 17:44Speaker 4: I do know where I work.
- 17:45Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 17:45Speaker 4: But I love the sugar babes.
- 17:46Speaker 6: Why do you say when last?
- 17:48Speaker 4: I love the sugar babes.
- 17:48Speaker 6: Van der Laas. It's that day. Van der Laas. That's
- 17:52Speaker 6: what we're going to do later as well. I was
- 17:53Speaker 6: just saying it for myself. Yeah, sugar babes. Push the button. Oh,
- 17:57Speaker 6: they don't make those tracks like they used to. They
- 17:59Speaker 6: really don't. There was a time in music where all
- 18:02Speaker 6: the songs were just perfectly catchy enough for you to
- 18:05Speaker 6: remember them. And yes, it was so, so good. And
- 18:09Speaker 6: it wasn't like the songs that I think are perhaps
- 18:12Speaker 6: influenced by the attention spans of TikTok. They were just
- 18:16Speaker 6: songs like that, man. And you'll never forget that.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:22Speaker 6: That don't impress me much. You know what I mean?
- 18:30Speaker 6: They play it on our emotions and that receptiveness to
- 18:33Speaker 6: an audio stimulus.
- 18:34Speaker 8: You know, you have like a visceral reaction when you
- 18:36Speaker 8: hear a part of the song.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Like the Veronica's, that opening. Yeah. Exactly.
- 18:44Speaker 6: Takes me back. Even the strumming of Iris from Goo
- 18:49Speaker 6: Goo Dolls.
- 18:50Speaker 8: Oh, shoo.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Don't get me started.
- 18:52Speaker 6: It's such a good day for all of these tracks.
- 18:53Speaker 6: We need to bring all of these songs back for
- 18:55Speaker 6: Vanilla's a little bit later. Coming up, I would love
- 18:59Speaker 6: to lend a hand to the community. And that's why,
- 19:03Speaker 6: along with some friends, we are going to be doing
- 19:06Speaker 6: yet another spotlight on a fantastic organization assisted by the
- 19:11Speaker 6: Disc Game Foundation. That'll be just after four o'clock on
- 19:13Speaker 6: your flash drive. Stacey Arrico, there's got to be more
- 19:19Speaker 6: to life. There is, and there's some great people like
- 19:22Speaker 6: you who help the community, sometimes without even knowing it.
- 19:26Speaker 6: And that's why every now and then I need to
- 19:28Speaker 6: make a lovely call to one of our friends. Now,
- 19:31Speaker 6: we all know what a dog can bring to a
- 19:32Speaker 6: beautiful family. I know. I have four Boston Terriers. Companionship. Affection.
- 19:38Speaker 6: That happy face waiting for you when you get home.
- 19:41Speaker 6: Even if you leave the house for one minute, you return.
- 19:43Speaker 6: It's like you've come back from the odyssey. It's wonderful
- 19:46Speaker 6: to have pets. But for some families, a dog can
- 19:48Speaker 6: do so much more.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Assistance.
- 19:50Speaker 6: Dogs are specially trained to support people who are visually
- 19:54Speaker 6: impaired and blind as well as autistic and neurodivergent children
- 19:57Speaker 6: and for an autistic or neurodivergent child who feels overwhelmed
- 20:01Speaker 6: or anxious an assistance dog can offer comfort and help
- 20:04Speaker 6: them feel safer and more settled now today we I
- 20:07Speaker 6: just wanted to chat to Jackie about how the Disc
- 20:09Speaker 6: Game Foundation are getting involved. Hello, Jackie.
- 20:13Speaker 11: Hello, Carl. How are you?
- 20:14Speaker 6: Phenomenal, as always. Always great to chat to you, Jackie,
- 20:17Speaker 6: and to find out which type of organizations are on
- 20:22Speaker 6: our table this week to spotlight and to just make
- 20:24Speaker 6: sure that we are constantly focused on different and diverse
- 20:29Speaker 6: causes as well. But you're focusing on these incredible dogs
- 20:33Speaker 6: for a second, and tell me a little bit about...
- 20:37Speaker 6: the why you wanted to highlight this as a choice
- 20:39Speaker 6: for organization to support.
- 20:40Speaker 11: So, Carl, we've been working with the South African Guide
- 20:45Speaker 11: Dog Association for quite a while now. And I recently
- 20:51Speaker 11: asked them to come out with me to a school
- 20:54Speaker 11: that cares for children that suffer from autism, neurodivergence.
- 20:59Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 21:02Speaker 11: You know, multiple challenges that we would assume they face.
- 21:07Speaker 11: And they're just the most wonderful children. And off we
- 21:10Speaker 11: went with the Guide Dog Association. And there's so much
- 21:13Speaker 11: more to be learned. It's not just about assisting those
- 21:15Speaker 11: that are visually impaired. It's very much about these assistance
- 21:21Speaker 11: dogs that look after children that have got that flight mode.
- 21:25Speaker 11: They call it Bolt. And how these children were quite
- 21:29Speaker 11: scared and quite unaware of these dogs. And once they
- 21:34Speaker 11: started interacting with the dogs, the sense of calm that
- 21:38Speaker 11: literally fell over these children was quite spectacular. You know,
- 21:42Speaker 11: they were scared and they were feeding them. And it's special.
- 21:47Speaker 11: And I don't think many people know that the Guide
- 21:50Speaker 11: Dog Association do these types of animals, train them. And
- 21:55Speaker 11: they're very specific in their training. And they also assist
- 22:00Speaker 11: in dogs, people in wheelchairs. that, I mean, I learned
- 22:03Speaker 11: this morning only, in fact, that these dogs are taught
- 22:06Speaker 11: to help take washing out the washing machine if somebody
- 22:09Speaker 11: can't help them. If they drop something off their wheelchair.
- 22:12Speaker 11: It was fascinating, Carl. And I just really wanted to
- 22:15Speaker 11: bring attention to the unbelievable work they do and how
- 22:19Speaker 11: affordable it is to have one of these dogs be
- 22:22Speaker 11: a caregiver to somebody's child in need, which helps the
- 22:26Speaker 11: whole family as well.
- 22:28Speaker 6: The SA Guide Dogs Association, I'm certain that they are
- 22:32Speaker 6: some overheads because we have to train these animals, don't you?
- 22:36Speaker 6: You have to make sure that they are able to
- 22:39Speaker 6: support the incredible people they are supporting, and I'm sure
- 22:42Speaker 6: that comes with a cost. So how is the Diskem
- 22:45Speaker 6: Foundation getting involved?
- 22:47Speaker 11: So we give them a financial donation on a monthly basis.
- 22:53Speaker 11: It costs around... Nitty-gritty, locked out to the bare bone,
- 22:58Speaker 11: it costs R350, 000 to train a single Labrador or retriever,
- 23:04Speaker 11: golden retriever, over a two-year period. It can cost up
- 23:09Speaker 11: to R500, 000. But here's the incredible thing that people don't know.
- 23:13Speaker 11: Irrespective of whether you come from a financially challenged background
- 23:18Speaker 11: or whether you have good access to funds and finances,
- 23:22Speaker 11: it costs R300, 000. obviously there's due diligence and you'd have
- 23:26Speaker 11: to work through the Guide Dog Association and it would
- 23:28Speaker 11: be for a very real need. They don't do emotional
- 23:31Speaker 11: support dogs. These are very specifically trained. And it's that affordable,
- 23:36Speaker 11: you know, and it's a case of you have to
- 23:38Speaker 11: ensure that the dog goes every six months to a
- 23:41Speaker 11: vet for a checkup so they can ascertain that the
- 23:44Speaker 11: dog's not overweight, the dog's being cared for correctly. And
- 23:47Speaker 11: if necessary, where they do have to step in, they'll
- 23:50Speaker 11: do so. So we're about trying to help people that
- 23:54Speaker 11: are not aware understand that there is help. And it
- 23:57Speaker 11: helps the family's car. You don't have to then be
- 23:59Speaker 11: watching the child 24-7 because they've got their companion, the
- 24:03Speaker 11: person they're comfortable with. I can carry on. You can hear.
- 24:07Speaker 6: I know. No, no, no, no, no, no. But it's fascinating.
- 24:11Speaker 6: It's fascinating. No, no, it really is. And I think
- 24:13Speaker 6: it's important because essentially the ethos of the Discount Foundation
- 24:17Speaker 6: is to enable and care for communities. And this includes
- 24:22Speaker 6: even something like the South African Guide Dogs Association ensure
- 24:25Speaker 6: that people have awareness and access to to anything that
- 24:28Speaker 6: will make their life better. And that's what you're doing
- 24:30Speaker 6: here today. And I'm very enthused to hear about this.
- 24:32Speaker 6: And I know that these dogs, part of the training,
- 24:35Speaker 6: I hear from my research on the South African Guide
- 24:38Speaker 6: Dogs Association that there is also some training required to
- 24:41Speaker 6: make sure that the family unit understands the dog, the
- 24:43Speaker 6: dog's commands, and that you can actually have that trust
- 24:47Speaker 6: in the animal to be a security blanket and something
- 24:51Speaker 6: that can also make you feel safe as well.
- 24:55Speaker 11: Absolutely. Absolutely. And they do, you know, a lot of
- 24:58Speaker 11: the children that they work with are non-verbal. And again,
- 25:04Speaker 11: you know, Tanya Schoenwald from the SA Guide Dog Association
- 25:09Speaker 11: was telling me that oftentimes there have been stories that
- 25:12Speaker 11: have come back to them that when a child has
- 25:14Speaker 11: spoken for the first time, it's been to the dog
- 25:17Speaker 11: because there's no expectation. You know, unfortunately, we as people
- 25:21Speaker 11: have expectations or we want to encourage in the kindest
- 25:26Speaker 11: possible way, but that That dog's just not there to
- 25:29Speaker 11: judge you and they just feel so safe.
- 25:32Speaker 6: And that's what our dogs do. Honestly, they do that
- 25:35Speaker 6: for us. And I'm so happy that you put a
- 25:37Speaker 6: spotlight on this today. And I know that there are
- 25:40Speaker 6: needs that they have and that you are trying your
- 25:43Speaker 6: best to satisfy with the income that you get, especially
- 25:47Speaker 6: when people are sick. Better Rewards members. That's how we
- 25:50Speaker 6: all help and hold hands. Even sometimes we don't even
- 25:53Speaker 6: know whose hand we're holding, but we're holding nonetheless. And
- 25:57Speaker 6: that's the beautiful thing of it. And I know if
- 25:59Speaker 6: you want to get some more details, as I said,
- 26:00Speaker 6: I did my due diligence. I also saw that guidedog.org.za
- 26:04Speaker 6: is their website. And they have all the resources there.
- 26:07Speaker 6: But Jackie, just once again, thank you for spotlighting what
- 26:10Speaker 6: a beautiful cause and also supporting the cause as well.
- 26:13Speaker 6: And just reminding us that when we are doing the
- 26:16Speaker 6: swipe that we need to do, when we walk into
- 26:18Speaker 6: that discount and purchase a lot more than we came
- 26:20Speaker 6: there for, at least we know that the swipe is
- 26:23Speaker 6: doing a lot more than what the swipe is actually
- 26:26Speaker 6: doing with regard to rewards points or whatever. And I
- 26:29Speaker 6: think that's why it's an important spotlight. And thank you
- 26:32Speaker 6: for bringing to our attention as well, Jackie.
- 26:35Speaker 11: Thank you, Carl. Thank you very much.
- 26:37Speaker 10: No problem.
- 26:37Speaker 11: And I'll see you soon. I'm heading your way next month.
- 26:40Speaker 6: I hear so. I had a chat to somebody today,
- 26:43Speaker 6: so I'm very excited. I know that there's something on
- 26:45Speaker 6: the horizon. And I chatted to the boss today. Don't worry,
- 26:49Speaker 6: but we'll chat about that later. Jackie, thank you so much.
- 26:52Speaker 6: It's all good.
- 26:53Speaker 11: Thank you, Carl.
- 26:53Speaker 6: No problem. You too. It is the Disc Game Foundation.
- 26:57Speaker 6: And if you are indeed a Disc Game Better Rewards
- 26:59Speaker 6: Program member, you're assisting the South African Guide Dogs Association.
- 27:03Speaker 6: And if you're not a member, there is such an
- 27:06Speaker 6: easy way for you to get involved. Visit discgame.co.za to
- 27:09Speaker 6: find out how you can join the Disc Game Better
- 27:11Speaker 6: Rewards Program because every swipe counts. It's Jared Ricketts. Take
- 27:18Speaker 6: me to your KFM 94.5. It's time. for the showdown
- 27:23Speaker 6: of your life to win a dishwasher. And not today.
- 27:26Speaker 6: I'm talking about tomorrow. There is something really cool happening.
- 27:28Speaker 6: I've got a draw for all of the participants of
- 27:31Speaker 6: the flash word this week. And for the person who
- 27:33Speaker 6: stays on top, who wins the final flash word of
- 27:35Speaker 6: the week tomorrow, you will be getting yourself an incredible
- 27:39Speaker 6: DeFi dishwasher along with Finnish products. It is going to
- 27:43Speaker 6: be super exciting. However, let's get to today's showdown. Here
- 27:47Speaker 6: we go. Think you've got what it takes to be
- 27:49Speaker 6: the next FlashWord champ?
- 27:50Speaker 2: Prove it on the FlashWord.
- 27:52Speaker 6: Powered by Finnish and DeFi.
- 27:54Speaker 13: On KFM 94.5.
- 27:59Speaker 6: Let's do this thing and welcome our champion back to
- 28:04Speaker 6: the fold. Let's do this. Hello, Chantal. Winner yesterday. And
- 28:08Speaker 6: on we go again. Remember, if you win today, you're
- 28:11Speaker 6: automatically into the big finale tomorrow for a chance to
- 28:15Speaker 6: win a whole dishwasher.
- 28:17Speaker 11: Very, very excited for that.
- 28:19Speaker 6: Great. Today, you are taking on a pharmacist from Strand, Stephen.
- 28:27Speaker 7: Good afternoon.
- 28:28Speaker 6: Good afternoon. Is it Stephen, Steerfun, Stephan? It's Steerfun. I
- 28:33Speaker 6: thought so. That's it, Steerfun. I want to make sure.
- 28:36Speaker 6: By the way, Steerfun, you and Beatrice need to have
- 28:38Speaker 6: a conversation together. They'll just be bass there. Gee whiz,
- 28:41Speaker 6: your voice is wonderful. Honestly, if I walk into your
- 28:47Speaker 6: pharmacy and I have a headache, I'll just get you
- 28:49Speaker 6: to talk to me. The reverberation alone will stop the headache.
- 28:53Speaker 6: It's wonderful. Honestly, what a liquor voice. All right, Chantal.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Thank you, Carl.
- 28:58Speaker 6: It's you and a man that is sometimes called Dirk Stemp.
- 29:02Speaker 6: It's your chance to win. So here we go, Chantal.
- 29:05Speaker 6: Can you handle first or do you want to go second?
- 29:09Speaker 6: You must choose.
- 29:11Speaker 14: I will go first because my birthday.
- 29:14Speaker 10: Is on the first.
- 29:15Speaker 6: Oh, stop it. Okay. Great stuff. All right, Chantal, good
- 29:19Speaker 6: luck to you today. Your flash word is? Guess what
- 29:21Speaker 6: it is. D. Yes, it's D. How did you know?
- 29:26Speaker 2: Stop.
- 29:26Speaker 6: It's D.
- 29:28Speaker 11: I'm that good.
- 29:29Speaker 6: So D-Y-D-I-E, you know, D-E-D-A-E sometimes, D-E-E, you know how
- 29:33Speaker 6: it goes. Good luck to you. It's going to be
- 29:36Speaker 6: a lot of fun. Five questions await you. You've got
- 29:38Speaker 6: 30 seconds to answer them, hopefully correctly. and a place
- 29:40Speaker 6: in tomorrow's finale. Oh, it's all on the line now
- 29:42Speaker 6: with DeFi and finish. 30 seconds. Your time begins in three, two, one. Chantal,
- 29:49Speaker 6: here we go. This describes someone who wants more than
- 29:53Speaker 6: their share. Skip. A crowdfunding platform.
- 30:04Speaker 10: Backer Buddy.
- 30:05Speaker 6: A suburb near Bergfleet.
- 30:07Speaker 4: Skip.
- 30:11Speaker 6: Matthew McConaughey's best friend.
- 30:13Speaker 10: Ooh, skip.
- 30:16Speaker 6: The K in former US President JFK. Time is up.
- 30:22Speaker 6: All right. Let's go through the answers. It's all good.
- 30:24Speaker 6: Describe someone who wants more than to share. It is
- 30:26Speaker 6: a greedy person. Crowdfunding. Back by D. Suburb New Berkeley.
- 30:31Speaker 6: Deep River. Matthew McConaughey's best friend is Wood D. Harrelson
- 30:34Speaker 6: and the K in the former U.S. President JFK is Kennedy.
- 30:38Speaker 2: All right.
- 30:40Speaker 6: Fun times ahead. General knowledge. It's over to you, dear fun.
- 30:43Speaker 6: Are you ready for your questions, sir? You need to

- 35:30Speaker 2: Come on.
- 35:30Speaker 14: How do you not know?
- 35:31Speaker 1: Like.
- 35:32Speaker 14: There was we had two clues and immediately right.
- 35:36Speaker 6: And what were the clues i'm intrigued no yes.
- 35:41Speaker 14: I'm like going blank now by the way you know
- 35:47Speaker 14: and one day only at the moment they have these
- 35:49Speaker 14: lovely ladies leather harness boots right they were two eight
- 35:52Speaker 14: they're now triple nine you know that deal Right?
- 35:55Speaker 6: Do you even know what's happening there? Also, when last
- 35:59Speaker 6: have you had an angry fit rower in your house?
- 36:01Speaker 6: It used to be eight grand. It's now three, one,
- 36:04Speaker 6: double nine. Can you just imagine one day only? Exactly.
- 36:07Speaker 6: And you know what? Yes, what?
- 36:10Speaker 8: Also, you know that everyone in Cape Town is part
- 36:13Speaker 8: of like a running group.
- 36:14Speaker 6: Yes, tell me more.
- 36:15Speaker 4: And one of the best brands to run in is

- 36:19Speaker 4: mind you.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Do you?
- 36:20Speaker 4: Okay, I do. They are great.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Love it, Jess.
- 36:23Speaker 8: Now, their shoes normally go for around 3K. Can I
- 36:25Speaker 8: just say that they're going for about 1.7 right now.
- 36:28Speaker 8: If you want to join a run club, now's.
- 36:30Speaker 4: The time to do so.
- 36:31Speaker 6: This is fantastic.
- 36:32Speaker 4: That's what I've been saying.
- 36:33Speaker 3: Right.
- 36:33Speaker 6: This is really, so a run club, but you need
- 36:35Speaker 6: to eat. Do you have a Dutch oven? No one
- 36:37Speaker 6: has a Dutch oven.
- 36:38Speaker 11: It was 3.8, it's now only 1.999.
- 36:39Speaker 6: You need to get a Dutch oven. What are you
- 36:40Speaker 6: guys talking about? I do need a Dutch oven. Oh,
- 36:44Speaker 6: my word.

- 36:46Speaker 14: Don't forget about Harvest Table collagen.
- 36:48Speaker 8: I was actually going to bring up the Harvest Table collagen,
- 36:51Speaker 8: but there's also the.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Sports bras on there as well. If you already are
- 36:54Speaker 4: in a running club and you're like, I need more support.
- 36:56Speaker 6: I don't know what you're going to do. I'm looking
- 36:57Speaker 6: at the Sportino vibration plate. I've always wanted a vibration
- 37:00Speaker 6: plate in my lounge. It was 2-5. It's now 1-3-double-9.
- 37:04Speaker 6: I'd like to vibrate too in my lounge.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Right?
- 37:06Speaker 1: Right.
- 37:08Speaker 6: Never mind. I'm going to stop before this gets awkward.
- 37:09Speaker 6: I think you should.

- 37:11Speaker 6: By the way, all that thing, right? All those things
- 37:13Speaker 6: that you just heard, I can only do that for
- 37:14Speaker 6: one day only. The rest of the days you must pay.
- 37:19Speaker 6: I gave you that shout out for free. Like one
- 37:21Speaker 6: day only sometimes gives.

- 37:35Speaker 14: I would love to give a shout out to my boyfriend.
- 37:37Speaker 11: He drives a lot for work.

- 37:41Speaker 11: So shout out to you, Junior.
- 37:45Speaker 6: Oh, beautiful. I love the giggles in your car. You

- 37:56Speaker 6: so good. I'm going to play you Club Can't Handle
- 37:58Speaker 6: Me because I feel like if you two were in

- 38:01Speaker 6: It's way too much fun. And coming up, it's your
- 38:04Speaker 6: chance to win up to 10,000 Rand with Lotto Land.

- 38:08Speaker 6: day off. That's only if you entered on primemediaplus.com and
- 38:12Speaker 6: you've placed that bet on lottoland.co.za. I could be doubling

- 39:01Speaker 6: But let's talk about what you're going through, all right?
- 39:04Speaker 6: Because I know for a fact that, you know, you
- 39:06Speaker 6: pour your energy, your heart, your life into the company
- 39:11Speaker 6: you work for, right?
- 39:13Speaker 14: I do.
- 39:14Speaker 6: I do, Paul. What is your role at the company?
- 39:17Speaker 3: I'm a status clerk.
- 39:19Speaker 6: Oh, good. When you say clerk, then I know. Oh,

- 39:37Speaker 6: And you know what?
- 39:38Speaker 10: I need to make sure that all the money comes
- 39:40Speaker 10: in so it's even worse.
- 39:41Speaker 6: Yes. Like you have to be that debt collector for

- 39:53Speaker 6: Of course right and then you know what i was
- 39:55Speaker 6: chatting to cassidy about branding and i think prestige cosmetics
- 39:58Speaker 6: i've also got another idea that i think we can
- 40:01Speaker 6: talk about so i'm i'm gonna do it i'm gonna

- 40:21Speaker 6: so that you get 24, Heritage Day, off, 25, Friday, off, Saturday, Sunday.
- 40:25Speaker 6: It's four days pretty much off. Is that something that
- 40:28Speaker 6: I can ask her for, do you think?
- 40:31Speaker 10: Yes, you can.
- 40:32Speaker 6: But is that an ideal spot for you to take
- 40:34Speaker 6: a liquor break? That's literally four days.
- 40:37Speaker 10: Yes, it is.
- 40:38Speaker 6: Okay, Rashida.
- 40:39Speaker 10: Month end is only at the end of the month,
- 40:41Speaker 10: so it's fine.
- 40:42Speaker 6: Okay, so Rashida.
- 40:42Speaker 10: I'm sure she'll say it's fine.
- 40:44Speaker 6: Okay, can you give me a little inside info on Rashida?
- 40:47Speaker 6: Just so I know, like, when I talk to her,
- 40:48Speaker 6: I can really impress her. So is there anything I
- 40:51Speaker 6: need to know?
- 40:51Speaker 10: Rashida is an amazing person. She loves to cook. She
- 40:56Speaker 10: brings us food.
- 40:57Speaker 11: And cake every other day.
- 41:01Speaker 10: And she's an outdoor person, and she likes spending time
- 41:03Speaker 10: with her grandchildren.
- 41:05Speaker 6: Beautiful. That's all I need to know. Candice... I want
- 41:08Speaker 6: you to hold the line and allow me to work
- 41:10Speaker 6: my magic. Let's call your boss and get you a
- 41:13Speaker 6: day off with Lotto Land.
- 41:18Speaker 3: Hello?
- 41:34Speaker 6: Hello, Rashida?
- 41:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:36Speaker 6: Hi there. Sorry to bother you. My name is Carl Wastey.
- 41:39Speaker 6: I'm calling from KFM 94.5. How are you? I'm well.
- 41:41Speaker 6: How are you, Carl? I'm very, very well. I just
- 41:47Speaker 6: got off the phone with an employee of yours, Candice Whittle.
- 41:51Speaker 9: Wow.
- 41:51Speaker 6: What a hardworking person Candice is. She is very loyal
- 41:56Speaker 6: and dedicated.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Right.
- 41:57Speaker 6: And Prestige Cosmetics. I mean, you've been in the game
- 42:01Speaker 6: for a very, very long time. You've been serving... such
- 42:05Speaker 6: an important part of the industry. And you've been doing
- 42:08Speaker 6: that with diligence and you need people like Candice to
- 42:10Speaker 6: keep it afloat. I know Rashida, but I know this
- 42:14Speaker 6: sounds like it comes out of nowhere, man, but there
- 42:18Speaker 6: are rumors about how amazing, about how amazing your cooking is, man. And,
- 42:25Speaker 6: and I just like, you know, the rumors are true.
- 42:28Speaker 6: Apparently you are dynamo in the kitchen. Like if I
- 42:31Speaker 6: had to ask you to make me a dish, What
- 42:34Speaker 6: would you make me?
- 42:36Speaker 10: Butter chicken.
- 42:37Speaker 9: Stop.
- 42:38Speaker 6: Please, butter chicken. Okay, here's the big thing, right? What
- 42:44Speaker 6: are you going to serve the butter chicken with? Must
- 42:46Speaker 6: I eat it with rice? Oh, there is Rashida. We
- 42:52Speaker 6: need to talk. I will come to the prestige factory.
- 42:55Speaker 6: I will come and see you. I don't care. I
- 43:00Speaker 6: will come and support. I will find a way to
- 43:02Speaker 6: support you. But there's got to be at least one
- 43:05Speaker 6: ice cream baki with butter chicken and rotis in it. Please.
- 43:08Speaker 6: That's all I ask for. Is that a fine? Thank you.
- 43:11Speaker 10: Absolutely.
- 43:12Speaker 6: Sure. But apparently I hear that second to none. And
- 43:15Speaker 6: you can bake as well. Stop it. What a talent.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:19Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 43:21Speaker 6: Anyway, Rashida. I'm sorry, my mouth is watering while we're
- 43:24Speaker 6: talking because you said bite the chicken. Okay, so Candice
- 43:27Speaker 6: is a very hardworking person and you know that the
- 43:29Speaker 6: entire world is going to work on the 25th of
- 43:32Speaker 6: September and it's such a random holiday next week where
- 43:35Speaker 6: it's Thursday, public holiday, then it's Friday, back to work,
- 43:37Speaker 6: and then it's a weekend. So I'm here to ask
- 43:39Speaker 6: on behalf of Candice very nicely that that hardworking woman
- 43:43Speaker 6: Can we surprise her with a day off on the
- 43:46Speaker 6: 25th of September so she can have four days to recoup,
- 43:49Speaker 6: have a short break, get away from the computer screen,
- 43:52Speaker 6: stop doing the debtor's clerk thing and service her debt
- 43:55Speaker 6: of self-love? Can we do that?
- 43:59Speaker 11: Absolutely.
- 43:59Speaker 6: Yes, Rashida. Delicious.
- 44:03Speaker 8: Absolutely.
- 44:03Speaker 10: She deserves it.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Right.
- 44:05Speaker 6: Okay. You can sort out the admin in the morning,
- 44:07Speaker 6: but Rashida, thank you very much for answering my call,
- 44:09Speaker 6: for being such a lovely boss. and for leading Prestige Cosmetics,
- 44:13Speaker 6: the group, as beautifully as you do in your department.
- 44:16Speaker 6: I appreciate that. And Candice is going to be so
- 44:18Speaker 6: thrilled when she hears that you've agreed. Have a wonderful day,
- 44:21Speaker 6: and we will see each other next for the tin
- 44:24Speaker 6: roof ice cream bucky filled with butter chicken.
- 44:26Speaker 11: Okay? There we go.
- 44:28Speaker 6: Love it. Thank you so much, Rashida. Have a wonderful day.
- 44:31Speaker 6: Appreciate you, Rashida. What a lovely boss.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Candice.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Candice.
- 44:39Speaker 10: Carl, I'm listening.
- 44:42Speaker 6: Are you listening? Did you actually listen? We did it.
- 44:45Speaker 3: Yes, I did.
- 44:47Speaker 2: We did.
- 44:50Speaker 1: It!
- 44:50Speaker 6: I literally gave... It's like having a week off. 25th,
- 44:52Speaker 6: you're off, girlfriend. You're off.
- 44:55Speaker 14: Thank you, Carl.
- 44:58Speaker 6: Now, you may be a debtor's clerk, but as I
- 45:00Speaker 6: said to Rashida, you have a debt to yourself to
- 45:02Speaker 6: put in the work and the time in yourself and
- 45:05Speaker 6: your leisure and your free time. Can you promise me
- 45:07Speaker 6: to fulfill that debt?
- 45:11Speaker 9: Yes.
- 45:12Speaker 6: Okay, good. Because I'm a debtor's clerk of self-love. I
- 45:15Speaker 6: will find you. And you're also getting something from me.
- 45:20Speaker 6: It is 5,000 Rand from Lotto Land. Congratulations. Quick one, Candice.
- 45:26Speaker 6: Have you placed a bet on Lotto Land on or
- 45:28Speaker 6: after 3 September?
- 45:30Speaker 14: Yes, I did on Tuesday.
- 45:32Speaker 2: You know what?
- 45:32Speaker 6: Never mind.
- 45:33Speaker 15: 10,000 Rand.
- 45:34Speaker 9: Wow.
- 45:40Speaker 6: Go have a liquor weekend. Go enjoy yourself. Stop the
- 45:42Speaker 6: burnout in its tracks. Get a massage. Get a mani.
- 45:45Speaker 6: Get a pedi. Get a head massage. Buy something nice. Please,
- 45:50Speaker 6: just do these things for yourself. That's all I ask
