Latest / The Next Round / The Next Round: Lane Kiffin Returns to Oxford: Who Has More Pressure, LSU or Ole Miss? | Hour 1
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: All right, we're rolling down a live show on Tuesday.
- 0:04Speaker 1: We're going to get to some NFL overreactions deeper into
- 0:08Speaker 1: the show. You'll hear from Lane Kiffin here momentarily. We'll
- 0:12Speaker 1: answer a question from yesterday about how the heck does
- 0:15Speaker 1: Ralphie stop as soon as you get into the trailer.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Colorado must have got a thousand questions about that because
- 0:21Speaker 1: they sent out a how-to video yesterday. We'll get to
- 0:24Speaker 1: that in the opening segment. That's how interesting I found it.
- 0:27Speaker 1: But we start with what we saw last night on
- 0:29Speaker 1: Monday Night Football. And listen, if you're new to the show,
- 0:33Speaker 1: if you've been with us 17 years, you know this.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I am interested in the NFL about half a full
- 0:40Speaker 1: cup compared to a full cup of college football. I
- 0:43Speaker 1: don't find it as interesting as I do college football.
- 0:46Speaker 1: And I did say something stupid last year when the
- 0:49Speaker 1: Chiefs got Kenneth Walker, the MVP. I was like, this
- 0:53Speaker 1: doesn't make sense. Why would the Seahawks want Kenneth Walker
- 0:57Speaker 1: not on their team? They just won the championship. And
- 1:00Speaker 1: he was the MVP of that. And you guys explained
- 1:04Speaker 1: to me who they had at running back and what
- 1:06Speaker 1: that blah, blah, blah.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Well, it was a salary issue. He was going to
- 1:10Speaker 2: get a massive raise.
- 1:12Speaker 3: And, you know, Seattle would rather go draft Jadarian Price
- 1:15Speaker 3: and pay him on the rookie contract as opposed to.
- 1:18Speaker 1: They already they had somebody to. Well, that's right. That's right.
- 1:22Speaker 1: So the Chiefs get this guy last night. And it
- 1:24Speaker 1: is his first game that counts with the Chiefs. Wow,
- 1:27Speaker 1: that guy was good last night, wasn't he?
- 1:29Speaker 3: 173 yards, some bad missed tackles from the Broncos, but
- 1:32Speaker 3: that's the most rushing yards by a Chief. To put
- 1:35Speaker 3: it in perspective, since 2012, Jamal Charles, the year before
- 1:39Speaker 3: Andy Reid, the longest tenured coach in the NFL, was
- 1:42Speaker 3: the Chiefs head coach.
- 1:42Speaker 4: So the best running back night in Andy Reid, Kansas
- 1:45Speaker 4: City Chiefs history.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Everybody's saying this is by far the best running back
- 1:50Speaker 1: that Patrick Mahomes has had. It's going to free things
- 1:53Speaker 1: up for him so much. I know it's one game.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Boy, our overreaction.
- 1:56Speaker 3: I mean, it was like the surgically repaired left knee.
- 1:59Speaker 3: How's Pat Mahomes going to be on that? Back-to-back runs
- 2:02Speaker 3: for touchdowns. First gets overturned, the second when he goes
- 2:05Speaker 3: in there. Didn't look like the knee was a problem.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Didn't look like that offensive line was much of a problem.
- 2:09Speaker 3: He was sacked twice, but it wasn't like he was
- 2:11Speaker 3: under a ton of duress.
- 2:12Speaker 1: It really was to skip, you know. Two shaky tackles,
- 2:16Speaker 1: and they held up pretty good.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he looked good.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Now, on the other side, Bo Nix looked like the rookie,
- 2:21Speaker 3: like the guy that got benched to T.J.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Finley way back in the day.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Boy, if I'm Davis Webb, I'm sleeping with one eye open.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Sean Payton, he ain't going to give up that play
- 2:29Speaker 4: calling long.
- 2:29Speaker 1: For those that don't know, Davis Webb is the play
- 2:32Speaker 1: caller now, the new OC. We do this all the time, Brown,
- 2:37Speaker 1: that Sean Payton is– is one of the greatest play
- 2:40Speaker 1: callers in NFL history. Why are you not calling plays?
- 2:46Speaker 1: It's a good question.
- 2:46Speaker 4: I mean, it's going to be a bad analogy, but
- 2:49Speaker 4: I'm going to use it anyway. This was like when
- 2:52Speaker 4: Auburn hired Hugh Freeze. They wanted Hugh Freeze calling plays,
- 2:54Speaker 4: and he was like, yeah, I'm not going to call
- 2:55Speaker 4: the plays. They're like, well, Hugh, we hired.
- 2:57Speaker 1: You for two reasons. We let Monty call the plays. Yeah,
- 2:59Speaker 1: we hired you for two reasons, Hugh.
- 3:00Speaker 4: You beat Alabama twice at Ole Miss, and we thought
- 3:03Speaker 4: you were a good offensive mind that called plays.
- 3:05Speaker 1: The same school did it with Gus Malzahn, too. It
- 3:07Speaker 1: was back and forth. Gus calling plays, not calling plays.
- 3:09Speaker 4: The whole reason we have you is because of your
- 3:10Speaker 4: offensive mind, and I'm that way with Sean Payton. Now,
- 3:12Speaker 4: I don't think he and Bo Nix have had the
- 3:14Speaker 4: best of relationships. So maybe this is part of it?
- 3:18Speaker 2: That's what's so confusing.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Of the quarterbacks taken to the 2024 first round, I
- 3:22Speaker 3: think Bo Nix probably had the least amount of expectations.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Played so well last year, and it seemed like him
- 3:28Speaker 3: and Sean Payton, he was the perfect quarterback in Sean
- 3:31Speaker 3: Payton's system.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So why do you turn the reins over to Davis Webb?
- 3:35Speaker 3: I agree with you, this won't be long if they
- 3:37Speaker 3: don't get this thing fixed quickly. And for Davis Webb,
- 3:40Speaker 3: it's kind of a bad audition because we talk about
- 3:43Speaker 3: Texas Tech and Joey McGuire.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Davis Webb, fantastic.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Former texas tech quarterback if he blew it out this
- 3:48Speaker 3: year and that offense was really good he's.
- 3:50Speaker 1: One of these guys that might got a little yeah
- 3:52Speaker 1: but laura rutledge i mean funny answer by sean payton
- 3:54Speaker 1: when she asked him you know how's at halftime coming
- 3:56Speaker 1: out of the locker room you know how's it feel
- 3:59Speaker 1: not calling plays he goes ask me after this half
- 4:02Speaker 1: yeah yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 4: I bet i know what the answer was after the
- 4:05Speaker 4: second half the first half was not great this.
- 4:07Speaker 3: I mean they couldn't run the football 61 i mean
- 4:09Speaker 3: that was the difference you look at 220 for kansas
- 4:11Speaker 3: city which is crazy 61 for Denver.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Obviously, I mean, there was something.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Was the ball slick last night?
- 4:18Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 4:18Speaker 4: They kept talking about humidity and Bo Nix, I mean,
- 4:21Speaker 4: that one time, he just dropped it. I mean, he's
- 4:24Speaker 4: just standing there and drops it. I don't know if
- 4:26Speaker 4: the ball was slick because of humidity or what.
- 4:27Speaker 3: It was so weird because after throwing the pick on
- 4:30Speaker 3: the first series... The second series, they go right down.
- 4:33Speaker 3: I mean, that was the only series where Bo looked really,
- 4:35Speaker 3: really comfortably good. But when they tied it up at
- 4:37Speaker 3: seven all, you're like, damn, we got a hell of
- 4:39Speaker 3: a game coming.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Listen, you know, I don't love the NFL. I watch
- 4:43Speaker 1: it passingly on Sundays. I'm all in on the playoffs
- 4:47Speaker 1: like all of America is. So I'm watching, you know,
- 4:51Speaker 1: I did no research. I just listened to these guys.
- 4:53Speaker 1: So I ran to Hard Rock Bets last night and
- 4:55Speaker 1: I was like, I wonder what the line is. Oh, OK. OK.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Sounded to me like everybody thought Denver was going to
- 5:03Speaker 1: win this game. So I was like, put me on Denver.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I like Denver. I like Denver.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Seven star last night for.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Kansas city yeah okay well see you you suckered me
- 5:14Speaker 1: in with your conversation about the tackles that's all i
- 5:17Speaker 1: went off on was tackles yeah the tackles i was
- 5:20Speaker 1: like you could have asked him at the break hey
- 5:23Speaker 1: what's your seven star play i just told you my
- 5:25Speaker 1: subscriber i told.
- 5:27Speaker 3: You even a bigger story than these two quarterbacks coming
- 5:30Speaker 3: back was the offensive line situation going against a team
- 5:34Speaker 3: that had 68 sacks.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Nobody calls it a offensive line situation if it's good.
- 5:40Speaker 1: I worked in local news for 30 years. If it's
- 5:42Speaker 1: a situation, it's never good.
- 5:44Speaker 3: This is what Andy Reid gets paid the big dollars
- 5:46Speaker 3: for us to figure this out. It did not look
- 5:49Speaker 3: like that offensive line had any problems at all.
- 5:51Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I mean, I sat here and I tried to read
- 5:55Speaker 1: between the lines yesterday that Problems at tackle, Broncos defense.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, Brown's right. You could have just asked.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Because Lance is really good at that. I have to
- 6:03Speaker 4: do that because Lance is really good when you hit
- 6:06Speaker 4: on a game that he has at Lance's luck. And
- 6:09Speaker 4: I've noticed this about Lance for how long we've been
- 6:11Speaker 4: doing this now, 17 years, whatever it is. He'll talk
- 6:14Speaker 4: about it. Without giving away what his position is.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Well, I knew that, but I thought he was hinting enough.
- 6:19Speaker 4: And there's times where I think I can read him.
- 6:24Speaker 4: And then in the break, I'll be like, so you
- 6:25Speaker 4: like Denver?
- 6:26Speaker 1: No, I got to.
- 6:28Speaker 2: You got to have some positives, negatives, both sides.
- 6:30Speaker 4: There's times where I think I've broken his code and
- 6:33Speaker 4: he'll talk and I'll say, okay, so you like Denver?
- 6:35Speaker 5: No, no.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I misread that one.
- 6:36Speaker 3: I think both of you guys had Denver missing the
- 6:39Speaker 3: playoffs this year.
- 6:40Speaker 2: I know I did.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I did. I did. Yep. Um, that's a good call, right? Yeah.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I mean, I think after one week, no Patriots, no Broncos,
- 6:49Speaker 1: but I think.
- 6:49Speaker 3: There will be, you know, and I know we're going
- 6:51Speaker 3: to overreact in a little bit. We might be overreacting
- 6:54Speaker 3: on how good Kansas city is. You know, we're, we're
- 6:57Speaker 3: overreacting on how bad Denver and the chargers are. I
- 7:00Speaker 3: saw a conversation this morning about, will the Rams miss
- 7:03Speaker 3: the playoffs? Um, I mean, look, they might, but, wow,
- 7:08Speaker 3: it's early after one game to be saying things like this.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Listen, there are things that in 17 years of the show,
- 7:14Speaker 1: eventually you just have to admit you were wrong about something.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I can't remember the last thing I was wrong about
- 7:21Speaker 1: that I tried to die on that hill for a long,
- 7:23Speaker 1: long time, and eventually you just have to say.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Michigan's a pretty good team.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Michigan's not a good football team. Michigan. It will come
- 7:31Speaker 1: out in the wall. We don't know that one yet.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I can't remember the last one, but there's been several.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Can you right now at 10-11 on the East Coast,
- 7:42Speaker 1: 6-11 on the West Coast, admit right now that Taylor
- 7:46Speaker 1: Swift and Travis Kelsey are in love? And that it's
- 7:51Speaker 1: a real relationship.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I mean, look.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Are you willing to say that week one in this season?
- 7:56Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I know. I know you don't care, but for so long.
- 7:59Speaker 6: I don't care.
- 8:00Speaker 3: I think the Kelsey brothers are weird. I think Jason
- 8:03Speaker 3: might even be weirder. Travis is more obnoxious. Jason's just
- 8:06Speaker 3: a weirdo.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I don't care. Answer the question.
- 8:10Speaker 6: Yes or no?
- 8:11Speaker 2: He's not going to.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Permission to treat his hospital.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I would put any amount of money that they will
- 8:17Speaker 2: be divorced in five years.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Okay. Five years. But you bet that they would never
- 8:21Speaker 1: get married. Yeah, you're right. So in five years.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I was wrong on the fact that they'll never get married.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Are they in love? I don't know.
- 8:27Speaker 4: In five years, if they're still married and we're still
- 8:29Speaker 4: doing a show, we may be retired by then in
- 8:31Speaker 4: five years.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I mean, would you then say, hey, I was wrong.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I was wrong. Okay.
- 8:40Speaker 2: They roll out Chris Berman to do an interview with
- 8:42Speaker 2: the two. And he's like, it was the happiest day
- 8:44Speaker 2: of my life.
- 8:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:46Speaker 2: And it's almost like he was reading a script. It
- 8:48Speaker 2: was the happiest.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I mean, just from the marketing of it all, the, uh,
- 8:53Speaker 1: but Hey, the tour that she would do, the tour
- 8:56Speaker 1: that she will do after they have their first baby
- 8:59Speaker 1: is going to be epic. I don't know what they
- 9:00Speaker 1: would call it.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Um, but, Oh, they'll come up with a weirdo name.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Everybody does the inheritance to her because the baby, the
- 9:08Speaker 1: baby's go catch.
- 9:08Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 9:09Speaker 3: I give ESPN credit. They didn't show her until the
- 9:12Speaker 3: long Kelsey run. Uh, and by the way, man, he's,
- 9:15Speaker 3: he's still got something in the tank.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Yeah. He doesn't look, I think everybody's younger when you've got,
- 9:21Speaker 1: you know, Superbowl MVP, Kenneth Walker running for that many yards.
- 9:24Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Right. It makes everybody. Yeah.
- 9:26Speaker 3: I am fascinated to see how good the chiefs are
- 9:28Speaker 3: going to be this year. You know, be enemy back
- 9:30Speaker 3: calling plays.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Um, I don't know.
- 9:33Speaker 3: You know, the AFC West is fascinating now because Denver
- 9:37Speaker 3: and the Chargers looked so bad. You can't really get
- 9:40Speaker 3: a gauge on the Raiders because they were playing your team.
- 9:42Speaker 3: They're going to be improved, but how much? AFC West
- 9:45Speaker 3: is going to be interesting. Real interesting.
- 9:47Speaker 1: The Chargers will come back.
- 9:49Speaker 2: I would think.
- 9:50Speaker 1: You would think. Boy, that was a terrible week one performance.
- 9:52Speaker 2: They got physically whipped.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Well, and now people are like, maybe we overvalued Mike McDaniel.
- 9:57Speaker 1: That offense didn't look better. It looked worse. We'll jump in.
- 10:00Speaker 1: LSU and Ole Miss in segment number two coming up.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Brooks Austin is on the show, the film guy. He'll
- 10:07Speaker 1: start hour two. He'll be with us at 11 Eastern,
- 10:09Speaker 1: 10 Central. Upset alert after Brooks Austin. We'll do that today.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Brown covered this past week. No outright winners and only
- 10:17Speaker 1: one cover. So a tepid start to our upset alert.
- 10:22Speaker 1: We'll try to be better here in week three. So far,
- 10:26Speaker 1: there's a 20-plus point underdog on the board every week.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Yeah, you snag one.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Now, did you guys go to the right place with
- 10:33Speaker 3: things that you like or things you wanted to draw?
- 10:35Speaker 1: Things I like or things I wanted to draw? Yeah. No,
- 10:39Speaker 1: I've got a good one. There was one I liked
- 10:42Speaker 1: more that I had no chance at drawing. So I
- 10:45Speaker 1: went with my second choice, which.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Was a better draw.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 10:48Speaker 2: An easier draw.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I'm a block letter today.
- 10:52Speaker 2: I will just say, I went back to another 50s
- 10:55Speaker 2: to 70s logo.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Okay. I like it. And I will tell you, I
- 10:59Speaker 1: took the dry erase board home to draw it, and
- 11:02Speaker 1: then I stopped off at a local home goods store,
- 11:07Speaker 1: or not home goods.
- 11:08Speaker 2: I thought you were going to say you went to
- 11:09Speaker 2: a bar and you were coloring at the bar.
- 11:11Speaker 5: No, no, no.
- 11:12Speaker 1: What's the kind of place where you buy Hobby Lobby stuff?
- 11:14Speaker 1: Arts and Crafts. It's actually called Hobby Lobby. I was
- 11:16Speaker 1: trying not to use the name. So I bought dry
- 11:18Speaker 1: erase markers, and I went home to try, and they
- 11:21Speaker 1: wouldn't draw good enough. So I was like, the color
- 11:23Speaker 1: I'm going to use I know is really good up here.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So I waited and drew it when I got there.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I think the only ones that work are the Expo markers.
- 11:29Speaker 3: I think if you try to cheap out, because we've
- 11:30Speaker 3: got a whole box of the others, and you try
- 11:32Speaker 3: to use them.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Well, one black one worked great. And then I thought, oh,
- 11:34Speaker 1: these are good ones. So I tried the red and blue.
- 11:36Speaker 1: They're awful. Yeah. I think it's the boards.
- 11:39Speaker 2: I really do.
- 11:40Speaker 1: We'll do our upset alerts. coming up later on. First,
- 11:43Speaker 1: before we get into answering the big question in college football,
- 11:47Speaker 1: how the hell does Ralphie stop after he runs around
- 11:50Speaker 1: the field? Let me remind you that you, if you're
- 11:52Speaker 1: in the state of Florida right now or some of
- 11:54Speaker 1: these other states I'll tell you about in a second,

- 12:56Speaker 1: big stories in college football in our next segment. Right now,
- 12:59Speaker 1: the not-so-big story in college football. New Ralphie last week
- 13:03Speaker 1: for Colorado got after it. Forrest, if we can see
- 13:06Speaker 1: the video one more time. This is Ralphie last week
- 13:10Speaker 1: in the home opener. And 170-ish yards, the rustlers had
- 13:18Speaker 1: to run with new Ralphie, a young female. And then
- 13:22Speaker 1: we get to the end here, that dead sprint, and
- 13:25Speaker 1: everybody asks the question, the, uh, the Ralphie rarely breaks
- 13:30Speaker 1: strides there.
- 13:31Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 13:32Speaker 1: What kind of breaks this thing got? What kind of
- 13:33Speaker 1: breaks do we have there? So if you can give
- 13:36Speaker 1: me cut 18, Tyler, uh, Colorado got that question so
- 13:41Speaker 1: much from this video that they, they sent out a,
- 13:45Speaker 1: how it all happens inside the trailer soundbite.
- 13:53Speaker 8: How does Ralphie not hit the front of her trailer
- 13:55Speaker 8: at the end of her runs? She has almost all
- 13:57Speaker 8: of her mass in her front shoulder. So when she
- 13:59Speaker 8: finishes her run, she could stop quickly before this divider,
- 14:02Speaker 8: turn around and get ready for her next run.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Wow.
- 14:06Speaker 8: Wow.
- 14:06Speaker 1: That's stopping on a dime.
- 14:08Speaker 2: That's Barry Sanders.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, how good is that?
- 14:14Speaker 3: That's why those things in the wild.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I think I told you guys when I was in Yellowstone.
- 14:18Speaker 3: A couple of the girls that were riding with us,
- 14:20Speaker 3: they were like, we'd much rather come across a grizzly
- 14:22Speaker 3: than a bison in the wild.
- 14:25Speaker 1: And, of course, we see two.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Bison that are far enough away.
- 14:29Speaker 3: But I think that's what's so scary about those things,
- 14:31Speaker 3: that kind of weight charging you, being able to stop
- 14:34Speaker 3: on a dime.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Can we say it just one more time? Because the
- 14:37Speaker 1: ability to stop here is just amazing.
- 14:42Speaker 8: How does Ralphie not hit the front of her trailer
- 14:44Speaker 8: at the end of her runs? She has almost all
- 14:46Speaker 8: of her masks on her front shoulders. So when she
- 14:48Speaker 8: finishes her run, she can stop quickly before this divider,
- 14:52Speaker 8: turn around, and get ready for her next run.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I mean, Homeboy makes it sound like all the masks
- 14:58Speaker 1: can stop, blah, blah, blah. That's still pretty amazing. I
- 15:01Speaker 1: don't care where your mask is.
- 15:02Speaker 3: I guess he's just seen it a bunch, and so
- 15:04Speaker 3: he's not blown away. I don't know how this is
- 15:06Speaker 3: not going to end bad.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I hope it doesn't. But, you know, we saw this.
- 15:09Speaker 2: The live mascots, I think, are awesome.
- 15:11Speaker 3: I think it's pretty incredible when you can contain them,
- 15:14Speaker 3: have them in there. I know a lot of people
- 15:16Speaker 3: probably think it's cruelty, but these things live like kings.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Oh, they do.
- 15:22Speaker 3: But with that said, you guys remember Double T, Texas Tech,
- 15:25Speaker 3: running straight into the wall and just exploding, basically. If
- 15:28Speaker 3: this thing was to get off that leash?
- 15:32Speaker 1: Well, Brooks, everybody do a quick behind-the-glass, quick AI search
- 15:37Speaker 1: or whatever you want to search. Has Ralphie ever gotten
- 15:41Speaker 1: loose at a game? Because they've been doing this for
- 15:42Speaker 1: years and years and years.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I think he has.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Maybe that's why you think he has.
- 15:46Speaker 2: I think he has.
- 15:47Speaker 3: But I think he just ran in circles. I think
- 15:48Speaker 3: I remember that. Could be a fever dream. But I
- 15:52Speaker 3: think I remember him getting loose.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so we've got multiple ones.
- 15:56Speaker 9: In the 2008 spring game, spring scrimmage, a young Ralphie Five,
- 16:01Speaker 9: only about a year old, managed to jump out of
- 16:03Speaker 9: and completely escape her harness. She sprinted towards the sidelines
- 16:06Speaker 9: and led handlers on a wild chase before being safely
- 16:09Speaker 9: cornered near the trailer.
- 16:10Speaker 5: Okay.
- 16:10Speaker 1: No one was injured.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Guarantee that was the highlight of the spring game.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Spring game, so no fans of that.
- 16:15Speaker 2: What year was that?
- 16:16Speaker 1: Pre-D on, yeah.
- 16:17Speaker 9: And then there's been close calls. It says, like, handlers
- 16:20Speaker 9: getting dragged or stumbling.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I've seen that.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Because they're running so fast.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I've seen that.
- 16:25Speaker 2: But no injuries that I'm seeing.
- 16:27Speaker 8: Okay.
- 16:27Speaker 1: That would have been Dan Hawkins there in Colorado.
- 16:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Right after Collette.
- 16:31Speaker 1: So no injuries. And I wonder, though, if those little
- 16:37Speaker 1: cow rustlers there, If they were not there, I wonder
- 16:40Speaker 1: at this point, would she just... Would she run that
- 16:43Speaker 1: little loop on her own now? Yeah, does she even
- 16:45Speaker 1: need the guidance? Would she just be like, I've got
- 16:47Speaker 1: to run into the trailer again? Why did we stop?
- 16:49Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Like the eagle at Auburn, do we even need the
- 16:53Speaker 1: piece of meat at the end anymore?
- 16:55Speaker 4: I don't want the eagle realizing that there's no meat
- 16:58Speaker 4: on the field anymore and looking for it in the stands.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I mean, does your dog want a treat when it
- 17:02Speaker 1: comes in from the bathroom? Every day.
- 17:04Speaker 4: If you didn't give the eagle meat at the Florida
- 17:08Speaker 4: game and the meat at the next home game.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Scott's got the 08 incident here. Oh, here's the answer.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Yeah, what if he steals your Koneka dog?
- 17:15Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. By the time somebody else rolls in. Okay,
- 17:17Speaker 1: not to give anyone. You see what happened? He did
- 17:19Speaker 1: the crossover. That's right. He did the crossover. It's a
- 17:22Speaker 1: good move.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Not to give anything away if you're watching The Gentleman
- 17:27Speaker 3: Season 2, but there is a falcon, a very expensive,
- 17:30Speaker 3: pricey falcon, because apparently Saudi Arabians like to race them.
- 17:34Speaker 3: It's become a big thing. Did not realize there's million-dollar
- 17:38Speaker 3: birds out there. I did realize when you see the
- 17:41Speaker 3: falcon that is kind of like on somebody's arm perched up,
- 17:45Speaker 3: they've always got a mask on. Well, the reason is
- 17:47Speaker 3: because they're apex predators. They see something they take off.
- 17:51Speaker 3: That's right. How does something else not fly over and
- 17:55Speaker 3: get the attention sometimes?
- 17:57Speaker 4: So like you're saying, as the eagle is circling, if
- 17:59Speaker 4: another predatory animal flew over.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Let's just say a hummingbird or a cardinal.
- 18:03Speaker 1: That's a good question. I don't know how they eat.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Is that what they eat? They're looking more down on
- 18:07Speaker 1: the field for a rat or a hamster or a
- 18:10Speaker 1: little squirrel.
- 18:11Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 18:12Speaker 1: What is it, actually? I'd like to know that. Maybe
- 18:14Speaker 1: that's how they're trained. They've trained them to go after
- 18:16Speaker 1: the meat or whatever.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Yeah, but if there's something better. I don't have to
- 18:21Speaker 4: be trained to go after meat. I think you're probably,
- 18:23Speaker 4: that's inane in you. You just, you want to know.
- 18:26Speaker 4: Or that's inborn, any whatever word I'm looking for there.
- 18:28Speaker 9: Fish is the primary food source for bald eagles.
- 18:32Speaker 1: What is? Fish.
- 18:34Speaker 4: So you think that's fish on the field at Auburn?
- 18:36Speaker 1: You think I got like a piece of flounder down there?
- 18:37Speaker 1: It really looks like Tyson chicken to me. Captain D's?
- 18:41Speaker 2: It could be chicken of the sea.
- 18:42Speaker 1: It could be chicken of the sea. Big one for
- 18:45Speaker 1: Auburn this week against Florida. We'll get into that game.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Open that up in your house, Lance.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Yeah. But when we come back, what is the chaos
- 18:53Speaker 1: or not? Everyone's trying to tap down the chaos in Oxford,
- 18:57Speaker 1: LSU and Ole Miss. What Lane Kiffin has to say
- 19:00Speaker 1: about the trip there. What Pete Golding is saying. This
- 19:02Speaker 1: is the next round presented by Hard Rock Bets right
- 19:05Speaker 1: here on Sporting State. The next round presented by Hard
- 19:08Speaker 1: Rock Bets on Sporting State continues on. Jim Dunaway along
- 19:11Speaker 1: with Lance Taylor, Ryan Brown, all the guys behind the
- 19:13Speaker 1: big glass there. Brooks Austin coming up at the top
- 19:16Speaker 1: of the hour. Tennessee lost a pretty big part of
- 19:20Speaker 1: their offense yesterday or announced yesterday. The tight end, Ethan Davis, ACL,
- 19:25Speaker 1: done for the season. He's become a big part of
- 19:30Speaker 1: their offensive scheme. We'll see how Tennessee adjusts to that.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Ed Orgeron dealing with some health issues. Lane Kiffin saying
- 19:37Speaker 1: yesterday he is better. And then he told a story
- 19:40Speaker 1: that that. Ed had told him, it's like, you know,
- 19:42Speaker 1: I'm not going to the hospital. Like if I die,
- 19:45Speaker 1: I'm going to die out on that football field. And
- 19:47Speaker 1: the football guy for life, right? Yeah, so that was
- 19:50Speaker 1: the Orgeron story, man.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Yeah, but, you know, I don't know about you guys.
- 19:54Speaker 3: I think some of the older generation, I'm not saying
- 19:56Speaker 3: Orgeron is there yet. But, you know, my old man,
- 19:59Speaker 3: he always said, I'm not going to the hospital.
- 20:01Speaker 2: I'm not going to the hospital. He ended up in
- 20:02Speaker 2: the hospital.
- 20:03Speaker 4: No, I just hate to hear that about Ed. I
- 20:04Speaker 4: hope he's okay.
- 20:05Speaker 1: It sounded pretty serious the way Kiffin was talking about it,
- 20:08Speaker 1: or it might have been more serious than it is now,
- 20:10Speaker 1: I guess is what I should say. At one point.
- 20:12Speaker 1: But we wish Coach the best. He's filled up a
- 20:15Speaker 1: lot of shows for us over the years, and we
- 20:17Speaker 1: appreciate Coach O there. All the way back to his
- 20:19Speaker 1: Ole Miss days, and now it's LSU and Ole Miss
- 20:22Speaker 1: and the biggest– Magnolia Bowl since 1962. More on that
- 20:27Speaker 1: after LT tells us about Clay Travis Law.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Accidents do not wait for a good time. One bad moment,
- 20:32Speaker 3: a wreck, fall, doctor who wasn't paying attention, and suddenly
- 20:35Speaker 3: you're fighting an insurance company that does this every single day.
- 20:38Speaker 2: That's why Clay started Clay Travis Law. Built a firm
- 20:41Speaker 2: around one idea.
- 20:42Speaker 3: People deserve someone willing to pay attention, ask the hard questions,
- 20:45Speaker 3: and push back when things don't add up. Experienced trial

- 21:11Speaker 3: Call 877-222-4444. That's claytravislaw.com.
- 21:16Speaker 2: No case is too big or too small.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Ed Orgeron, speaking of him, Jock Doucette, who covers LSU
- 21:24Speaker 1: for years and years, award-winning sportscaster down there. I heard
- 21:27Speaker 1: him say that Orgeron and him were talking over the summer,
- 21:31Speaker 1: and Orgeron had said they need to put Lane in
- 21:33Speaker 1: the Popemobile. I won't insult Coach O by doing an impersonation,
- 21:37Speaker 1: but he told Jock they need to put Lane in
- 21:39Speaker 1: the Popemobile to get him into the stadium and onto
- 21:43Speaker 1: the sidelines and off the, off and into the locker room,
- 21:46Speaker 1: you know, the bubble with protection and everything. And Jock
- 21:51Speaker 1: laughed and Ed was like, no, I'm serious. Here's Lane
- 21:55Speaker 1: Kiffin on going back to Oxford and Ole Miss this weekend.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I'm guessing you're probably no stranger to heckling.
- 22:03Speaker 10: And so that won't be new in Oxford, but, Given
- 22:08Speaker 10: the potential for an unusually high emotional component in the
- 22:11Speaker 10: stands and the environment that creates around the game, do
- 22:14Speaker 10: you have to account for that in any way in
- 22:18Speaker 10: terms of communication between the staff and also just player
- 22:22Speaker 10: discipline and everything else that goes on?
- 22:25Speaker 5: Yeah, we talk about that. I guess there's real safety
- 22:30Speaker 5: issues and stuff, so there's people that have a plan
- 22:33Speaker 5: for that is what it is. But I told the
- 22:39Speaker 5: players today, man, like, you don't have anything to worry
- 22:41Speaker 5: about as far as, like, attention on you all week
- 22:45Speaker 5: and everything. There's just going to be so much attention, hatred,
- 22:48Speaker 5: everything on me. I said, you just get to go play.
- 22:50Speaker 5: And I said, really, the pressure's on them. They're the
- 22:54Speaker 5: team that, you know, we won seven games last year.
- 22:56Speaker 5: They won 13. They returned, you know, two Heisman candidates.
- 23:02Speaker 5: How often does that ever happen in the same backfield?
- 23:04Speaker 5: We had it one time with Matt Leiner and Reggie Bush.
- 23:07Speaker 5: and second-longest winning streak in the country. So you guys
- 23:10Speaker 5: just get to go play, and the pressure's not on you.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I actually think that was a genius move.
- 23:17Speaker 2: That's so he's pumping himself up.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think it's a genius move. Oh, I
- 23:22Speaker 1: do too, because he's right. There is more pressure on
- 23:24Speaker 1: Ben Golding and Ole Miss. First of all, he's not wrong.
- 23:26Speaker 2: That's not true.
- 23:27Speaker 1: No, I think there is. No, it's not. You don't
- 23:30Speaker 1: think so?
- 23:31Speaker 2: No, I don't, because the more expensive roster.
- 23:33Speaker 3: He left Ole Miss because he felt like he couldn't
- 23:37Speaker 3: win a championship there.
- 23:38Speaker 2: He goes to LSU. If you come in... with a
- 23:40Speaker 2: more expensive.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Roster, and you lose this game because you went to
- 23:45Speaker 3: a place that you thought was better, I think the
- 23:47Speaker 3: pressure is more on Lincoln.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Well, he goes back to Baton Rouge at that point,
- 23:51Speaker 1: and then he's got, you know, I'm three games into
- 23:54Speaker 1: whatever we're building here.
- 23:56Speaker 2: And everything he said there, he was hyping himself up. Like,
- 23:59Speaker 2: they were the team that won 11 games.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Oh, I know that.
- 24:01Speaker 2: I'm the architect behind that. They've got the second longest.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I know that. That's true. Yeah, that is
- 24:05Speaker 1: all true. That also is true at Ole Miss. They
- 24:08Speaker 1: are used to winning, and Pete Golding doesn't get to leave.
- 24:12Speaker 1: He doesn't get to go back and say, you know,
- 24:14Speaker 1: we're building. We were built already. We're here, and here
- 24:17Speaker 1: comes the guy that built it, and I need to
- 24:20Speaker 1: win this game. I need to win this game. It's
- 24:22Speaker 1: on my turf. We're the ones that hate him. I mean,
- 24:26Speaker 1: the pressure's on Pete Golding.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I think the pressure's on both.
- 24:28Speaker 3: I mean, we asked the question in the offseason throughout
- 24:30Speaker 3: the summer multiple times. I mean, there's a ton of
- 24:33Speaker 3: pressure on Pete Golding, but I think there's more pressure
- 24:35Speaker 3: on Lane Kiffin. Now the expectation after watching them week
- 24:38Speaker 3: one against Clemson, there are people that believe not only
- 24:40Speaker 3: can they win the SEC, they can win a national championship.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I don't think anybody's saying that about Ole Miss.
- 24:45Speaker 1: No, no, no, no.
- 24:46Speaker 4: Nobody thinks Ole Miss is a legitimate national– I shouldn't
- 24:49Speaker 4: say nobody. That's dangerous to say. But I think Ole
- 24:52Speaker 4: Miss struggles to be viewed as a legitimate national championship contender.
- 24:55Speaker 4: I just thought it was a genius move because now
- 24:59Speaker 4: publicly one of the coaches– And the Ole Miss players
- 25:03Speaker 4: will see this. And now Pete Golding has to choose,
- 25:06Speaker 4: do I bring this topic up or not?
- 25:09Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
- 25:10Speaker 4: Like when the Ole Miss players see Lane Kiffin and
- 25:12Speaker 4: they're going to see it, I'm saying the pressure's on
- 25:14Speaker 4: Ole Miss. No pressure on us. You know, we get
- 25:17Speaker 4: to go free pop here. We just get to go
- 25:18Speaker 4: play a game.
- 25:19Speaker 1: They hate me. They don't hate you guys. Pressure's all
- 25:21Speaker 1: on Ole Miss. Pete Golding has to say, do I
- 25:24Speaker 1: address this now?
- 25:25Speaker 7: Right.
- 25:25Speaker 2: I mean, I would just own it.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Yeah, look, I mean, I know.
- 25:27Speaker 4: And that's the whole thing. But that was probably something
- 25:30Speaker 4: Pete was not planning on doing. So now the ball
- 25:32Speaker 4: is in Pete's court because I assume. Well, I don't know.
- 25:36Speaker 1: I don't know what Pete's about to say here, but
- 25:37Speaker 1: I don't know if this got back to.
- 25:38Speaker 4: Him for their weekly news conference or if he'll meet
- 25:40Speaker 4: the media again. But at some point, somebody is going
- 25:43Speaker 4: to ask me, hey, Lane says the pressure is all
- 25:44Speaker 4: on you guys. Yeah, well, let's go 14 and then 15.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Sorry about that. Brown has set us up for a
- 25:49Speaker 1: couple of things here. By the way, in an unscientific
- 25:52Speaker 1: poll yesterday on social media, LSU 61% more pressure on them, 39%
- 25:58Speaker 1: on Ole Miss. So it's a pretty close, pretty close
- 26:01Speaker 1: vote there on the way people who watch our show
- 26:04Speaker 1: perceive it. Here's Pete Golding first off on Lane Kiffin's
- 26:08Speaker 1: return to Oxford.
- 26:10Speaker 7: You know, now with the portal and coaches, you know,
- 26:13Speaker 7: going different places every year, there's always relationships that are there. Obviously,
- 26:18Speaker 7: this one being unique, their head ball coach, you know,
- 26:20Speaker 7: that recruited a lot of these guys and all that
- 26:22Speaker 7: is on the opposing side.
- 26:23Speaker 2: But, you know, they know it's a top 10 matchup.
- 26:26Speaker 7: And regardless who we play, you're playing a top 10
- 26:28Speaker 7: team in this league. If you don't prepare really well
- 26:32Speaker 7: and practice really well and play your best game, you're
- 26:34Speaker 7: probably not going to win the game, regardless who it is. So,
- 26:37Speaker 7: I think we've got a mature enough group to understand
- 26:41Speaker 7: that it's going to be a hard football game. They're
- 26:43Speaker 7: a really good football team. Got a good quarterback. Got
- 26:45Speaker 7: good skill. Really good on defense. But we got good players, too.
- 26:49Speaker 7: And we're going to have to prepare the right way
- 26:51Speaker 7: this week and get locked in and get focused. A
- 26:54Speaker 7: lot going on. You got Ella Langley. You got Game Day.
- 26:57Speaker 7: You got so much other stuff. But to me, it's
- 26:59Speaker 7: like high school homecoming for these dudes. If you focus
- 27:02Speaker 7: on the wrong shit... That homecoming dance ain't very fun
- 27:05Speaker 7: after you get your butt beat on a Friday night.
- 27:07Speaker 7: So we've got to make sure we're doing everything right
- 27:09Speaker 7: throughout the week to get the outcome that we want.
- 27:11Speaker 2: You know what Pete's got that Lane doesn't? A top
- 27:14Speaker 2: ten win.
- 27:15Speaker 3: And he brought up top ten matchup twice, and Lane
- 27:18Speaker 3: is 0-3 in those matchups.
- 27:20Speaker 2: So Pete does have something that Lane doesn't have.
- 27:23Speaker 1: And I'll tell you another reason why I think the
- 27:24Speaker 1: pressure is on Ole Miss, at least the guys that
- 27:26Speaker 1: have to make plays to win the game. Trinidad and Kewan,
- 27:31Speaker 1: are part of this. They could have gone to LSU.
- 27:35Speaker 1: That is their old coach. The guys that are wearing
- 27:38Speaker 1: the LSU uniform, some of them, some of their key playmakers,
- 27:42Speaker 1: they've got no blood in this fight. There's a few
- 27:46Speaker 1: big players for LSU that were at Ole Miss last year.
- 27:49Speaker 1: They don't want to lose to their old school. Those
- 27:51Speaker 1: guys are feeling the pressure, but Sam Levitt's like, I
- 27:53Speaker 1: really don't know what all the big deal's about here.
- 27:55Speaker 1: I got paid to come quarterback here. Lane got paid
- 27:57Speaker 1: to come coach here. I've never been to Oxford, Mississippi.
- 27:59Speaker 1: I don't know what the big deal is.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Well, and in the drama series, in the Friday Night
- 28:05Speaker 4: Lights series, the boosters that ponied up all the money
- 28:08Speaker 4: to keep Trinidad Chambliss and Keiwan Lacey, at some point
- 28:10Speaker 4: this would be Remember, this is why we paid you
- 28:13Speaker 4: all this money, is to beat LSU.
- 28:14Speaker 1: That's right. Now, I don't know if that really happens
- 28:16Speaker 1: in real life. I don't know what the interaction is like. Hey,
- 28:19Speaker 1: come on down to McGarrity Ford, and I'll get you
- 28:21Speaker 1: a new one this weekend.
- 28:23Speaker 4: Now, remember, when I gave you that car, it's so
- 28:24Speaker 4: you guys beat LSU when that son of a bitch
- 28:26Speaker 4: Lane Kiffin comes by.
- 28:28Speaker 3: I understand how you guys could say that Pete's got
- 28:32Speaker 3: a little more, but, I mean, everybody, all they talk
- 28:34Speaker 3: about is Lane Kiffin. Again, the reason he left, the
- 28:36Speaker 3: roster on paper is more– they're spending more than Ole
- 28:40Speaker 3: Miss is spending.
- 28:41Speaker 2: All I would say is– And by the way, they're
- 28:43Speaker 2: favored too.
- 28:45Speaker 4: All I would say is if LSU loses this game,
- 28:48Speaker 4: can LSU still make the playoffs and maybe even win
- 28:52Speaker 4: a national championship?
- 28:53Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Yes.
- 28:54Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 28:54Speaker 1: I mean, yes is the answer. I'm not asking will they.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Both can. I know.
- 28:58Speaker 4: But can LSU do that? And if LSU does that,
- 29:01Speaker 4: do you think LSU fans will ever look back at
- 29:03Speaker 4: this loss in Oxford and think twice about it?
- 29:06Speaker 8: No.
- 29:07Speaker 4: If Ole Miss loses this game, first of all, Ole
- 29:09Speaker 4: Miss got a very difficult climb to the playoffs and
- 29:13Speaker 4: certainly to the national championship. But even then, some Ole
- 29:16Speaker 4: Miss fans are going to look back and say, God,
- 29:19Speaker 4: I know it was a good year. We got back
- 29:20Speaker 4: to the playoffs.
- 29:21Speaker 7: Yes.
- 29:21Speaker 1: But my God, I wish we'd beat LSU.
- 29:23Speaker 2: But I also want to bring this up.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Like if Ole Miss is to win this game and
- 29:28Speaker 3: not make the playoffs, I think you can still salvage. Hey,
- 29:31Speaker 3: we beat Lane and LSU. You know, hey, he's going
- 29:33Speaker 3: to build for something. If LSU on the other side,
- 29:37Speaker 3: you know, loses this game. still makes playoffs you're right
- 29:41Speaker 3: it's not a big deal but I I think for
- 29:43Speaker 3: Ole Miss you know if they were to win this
- 29:45Speaker 3: game I think you could hang your hat on that
- 29:48Speaker 3: for a while I.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Agree I agree that's why I think there's pressure on
- 29:51Speaker 1: Ole Miss to win this game I believe if you
- 29:54Speaker 1: look back national championship winning Les Miles Nick Saban comes
- 29:59Speaker 1: to town They lose that game, right, in 08. They
- 30:03Speaker 1: lose it in 09. They lose it in 10. Who's they? LSU.
- 30:09Speaker 1: LSU won 10. LSU won 10? Yeah. They won 11,
- 30:13Speaker 1: I know. No, they won 10 and 11.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Remember, Bama had three losses, South Carolina, LSU.
- 30:17Speaker 1: And Auburn. But it felt like when they lost to
- 30:21Speaker 1: Saban's return and then Saban won a national championships, the
- 30:24Speaker 1: list started to slip a little bit as far as
- 30:27Speaker 1: the popularity with LSU fans. win 10, they win 11,
- 30:31Speaker 1: but they lose in the national championship game, and then
- 30:34Speaker 1: Les is never the same again.
- 30:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know if you can remember how you
- 30:37Speaker 4: felt about this, and we weren't even doing a show
- 30:39Speaker 4: together then, which is wild to think about, but in 08,
- 30:42Speaker 4: when Alabama– this is the best comparison.
- 30:43Speaker 1: You just brought it up. I was there.
- 30:44Speaker 4: When Alabama went to LSU, I felt like all the
- 30:47Speaker 4: pressure was on LSU and Les Miles in that game.
- 30:50Speaker 2: I can't remember.
- 30:51Speaker 4: I mean, I just remember feeling that way, but, I mean,
- 30:54Speaker 4: maybe if I– I just– I.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Feel different just because– Like Pete is the good guy
- 30:59Speaker 3: that everybody's pulling for. Oh, he's the white hat. Everybody
- 31:03Speaker 3: can't stand Lane Kiffin. They're pulling against him. And all
- 31:05Speaker 3: the focus has been on Lane Kiffin. And if he
- 31:07Speaker 3: was to lose this game after leaving those guys, it's
- 31:11Speaker 3: going to be a terrible look.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Here's Pete Golding being more of the white hat guy.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I mean, Pete's playing this perfectly so far this week.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Here's Pete Golding again on the message. He's asked to
- 31:24Speaker 1: send a message to Ole Miss fans, and this is
- 31:26Speaker 1: what Pete says.
- 31:27Speaker 2: What would you tell the fans how to act this weekend?
- 31:30Speaker 7: Yeah, so to me, I mean, what this place has
- 31:32Speaker 7: always been about, you know, and why so many people
- 31:35Speaker 7: love coming here and respect this place is because of
- 31:38Speaker 7: the people that are here and how they make them
- 31:40Speaker 7: feel when they come here. And that's always been something
- 31:43Speaker 7: for me. When you come here and you meet Ole
- 31:45Speaker 7: Miss and alumni and all that, you know, they're so respectful.
- 31:48Speaker 7: They're appreciative. You know, they're very welcoming. There's a competitive
- 31:52Speaker 7: part of everybody, right, that obviously we want to create
- 31:54Speaker 7: a really, really good environment like they always have for
- 31:57Speaker 7: a top ten matchup, for it to be really hard
- 32:00Speaker 7: to play offense in that stadium and be there early
- 32:03Speaker 7: and be loud. But I think at the end of it,
- 32:05Speaker 7: there's still a respect piece. And this place has always
- 32:09Speaker 7: been known to have really, really good people. And that's
- 32:11Speaker 7: the one thing to me about Oxford. The first thing
- 32:13Speaker 7: you talk about is the people there. And so let's
- 32:16Speaker 7: not lose that over a game, over a person or
- 32:18Speaker 7: anything else like that. There's nothing wrong with being.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Competitive and being in the moment, right.
- 32:22Speaker 7: And being really loud and being an unbelievable fan and
- 32:25Speaker 7: providing an unbelievable atmosphere for our players and really hard
- 32:27Speaker 7: to play it for their players. But at the end
- 32:29Speaker 7: of the day, don't, don't lose what we've created and
- 32:32Speaker 7: what they've created for so long, which is a really good,
- 32:35Speaker 7: unique place with really, really good people. That's really hard
- 32:38Speaker 7: to play. And so I think that's what it'll be.
- 32:40Speaker 7: And that's what it's always been since I've been here.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Don't act a fool is what Pete Golding is saying,
- 32:45Speaker 1: trying to, tap down the circus that is going to
- 32:49Speaker 1: be around the stadium leading into the weekend.
- 32:51Speaker 4: If either one of these guys decided to go Will
- 32:53Speaker 4: Stein or Kansas football this week, this could be a
- 32:58Speaker 4: bad scene.
- 32:58Speaker 1: That's right.
- 32:59Speaker 4: If Pete Golden just said the same exact thing Will
- 33:01Speaker 4: Stein said, even jokingly, like, hey, don't get caught in
- 33:05Speaker 4: the stadium getting drinks, bring a flask in, yell some
- 33:08Speaker 4: profanities at them. The one thing this thing already has
- 33:12Speaker 4: plenty of is fuel. You don't need to throw a
- 33:14Speaker 4: match on it.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Let's just.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Eli Drinkwitz on the road, if Lane gets a late lead,
- 33:19Speaker 3: you know he'll try to run it up. And that's
- 33:22Speaker 3: where things could get really, really interesting.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Post-game. Post-game. Yeah, post-game.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Do you guys have a feel for this game?
- 33:28Speaker 1: No, not one bit. My feel is... Can't wait to
- 33:32Speaker 1: watch it. Me too. Me too. My feel is that
- 33:36Speaker 1: LSU is the better football team. I think they are.
- 33:41Speaker 2: I think they are too, but I'm not sure.
- 33:43Speaker 8: I mean.
- 33:43Speaker 1: If Ole Miss.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Tackles well, I think Ole Miss is going to be fine.
- 33:47Speaker 3: I think Trinidad is good enough offensively. He's by far
- 33:51Speaker 3: the best quarterback on the field. But if they can tackle,
- 33:53Speaker 3: like I saw a lot of missed tackles against Louisville,
- 33:56Speaker 3: I think Ole Miss is a pretty good spot.
- 33:57Speaker 1: You heard Lane say there's real safety issues, and we've
- 34:01Speaker 1: got people that will handle that. So I wonder if
- 34:04Speaker 1: he's meaning there's been some social media or email death
- 34:07Speaker 1: threats or anything like that. I did read just a
- 34:10Speaker 1: moment ago. I'll try to pull it back up.
- 34:13Speaker 4: Reports that um they're bringing in some mounted police from
- 34:16Speaker 4: louisiana for this game um louisiana has mounted police yeah
- 34:21Speaker 4: if you're the ones on bourbon street yeah bourbon and
- 34:23Speaker 4: that's what they're saying is like these people handle mardi
- 34:25Speaker 4: gras they can handle this yeah.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Lean at least lane doesn't want to make a spectacle
- 34:29Speaker 3: before games you know maybe bring in a couple of
- 34:32Speaker 3: gymnasts with him he Maybe a really not funny comedian
- 34:36Speaker 3: with a mullet.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Maybe Lil Wayne last week.
- 34:38Speaker 1: He can't help himself. He will. He'll do something this week. Oh, yeah.
- 34:42Speaker 1: He can't help himself. He'll do something this week. He
- 34:45Speaker 1: will pour gasoline on the fire at some point. Yes,
- 34:46Speaker 1: he will.
- 34:47Speaker 4: At some point. Because he can't help himself. He's going
- 34:49Speaker 4: to do it. Like, he played nice yesterday. He played
- 34:52Speaker 4: nice yesterday.
- 34:53Speaker 1: There's no way he comes out to the game day set,
- 34:55Speaker 1: is there? No. I never see the visiting coach come out.
- 34:59Speaker 2: No, you really don't.
- 35:01Speaker 1: I can't remember a visiting coach ever coming out.
- 35:03Speaker 5: On the road.
- 35:03Speaker 3: And I don't know if they would, you know, if
- 35:06Speaker 3: I'm a producer, I guess I got to ask just
- 35:08Speaker 3: because of the scene it could create. And if you're promoting, hey,
- 35:11Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin coming up live on game day in front
- 35:13Speaker 3: of this crowd.
- 35:14Speaker 4: He'd have to be up on the stage. They couldn't
- 35:16Speaker 4: do that little side set where it's close to the crowd.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I mean, they've got to ask Pete Golden. They always
- 35:20Speaker 2: have the home coach.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Pete will be there. Pete will do it in a heartbeat. Yeah,
- 35:23Speaker 1: Pete will be there. I would ask Lane. I would too.
- 35:25Speaker 1: But more likely it's the night game. It'll be. Wherever
- 35:29Speaker 1: the hotel is, they're saying it'll be– Yeah, I won't
- 35:32Speaker 1: say it'll be Holly Roe, but I don't know where
- 35:35Speaker 1: she is right now on getting the interview or not.
- 35:38Speaker 1: The siren? Yeah, you make a good point there.
- 35:43Speaker 4: He's a long way out of town for a night game.
- 35:46Speaker 4: It's far more– they'll have him on, but I bet
- 35:48Speaker 4: you they have him on via– like, well, let's go
- 35:51Speaker 4: to the Ole Miss Hotel. Coach Lane Kiffin joins us
- 35:53Speaker 4: now and the crowd will go.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Brooks, would you do me a favor and keep an
- 35:57Speaker 1: eye on social media all week long on If cell
- 36:01Speaker 1: phone numbers get leaked, if team hotel location for LSU
- 36:06Speaker 1: gets leaked out, just keep an eye. I'd like to
- 36:09Speaker 1: see if any of that's getting leaked out. You remember the,
- 36:12Speaker 1: I can't remember which World Cup team it was. Tyler
- 36:14Speaker 1: showed us the video.
- 36:15Speaker 9: Oh, Mexico and everybody they played.
- 36:18Speaker 4: Yeah, but it was specifically England, how they stood outside
- 36:20Speaker 4: the hotel and air horns and all that.
- 36:21Speaker 9: They beat the English team to the hotel.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Yeah, but hey, who won the game?
- 36:26Speaker 2: England.
- 36:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 36:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 36:27Speaker 1: That one backfired on you right there, Mexico. So interesting
- 36:31Speaker 1: for this game coming up this weekend. First time since
- 36:33Speaker 1: 1962 in the Magnolia Bowl, which is what this is called,
- 36:37Speaker 1: if you don't know that around the world. LSU and
- 36:39Speaker 1: Ole Miss, first time since 62 that they've been both
- 36:42Speaker 1: ranked in the top 10 when they play each other.
- 36:46Speaker 1: When we come back, we'll do a little true or
- 36:48Speaker 1: false in college football. And we say happy anniversary to
- 36:54Speaker 1: one of the great albums of all time, at least
- 36:57Speaker 1: for me. I'm betting one, two, three, four, five, six.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I'm betting 60 to 80% of the rest of the
- 37:07Speaker 1: next round disagree with me.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Alanis Morissette.
- 37:11Speaker 1: It was really, really good. I love that album. This
- 37:14Speaker 1: is the next round presented by Hard Rock Bets on
- 37:17Speaker 1: Sport and State. Back with you on the next round
- 37:20Speaker 1: presented by Hard Rock Bets on Sport and State. August
- 37:26Speaker 1: and everything after. Counting Crows, 33 years ago yesterday, the anniversary. Mr.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Jones was on there. I guess that was their biggest
- 37:36Speaker 1: hit on that album. Maybe their biggest one all time.
- 37:39Speaker 1: But I love the Rain King and Round Here better
- 37:43Speaker 1: than that on that one album. That was a great album,
- 37:45Speaker 1: I thought.
- 37:46Speaker 4: Rain King, I like. Round Here has never been my favorite.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I like Round Here. I mean, I think that's
- 37:52Speaker 2: a good album. Counting Crows, yeah.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I've heard they're not good live. Have you seen them live?
- 37:59Speaker 3: I thought I did, but I'm not really sure. I
- 38:01Speaker 3: know they opened for the Rolling Stones one time.
- 38:04Speaker 2: So were they good live?
- 38:04Speaker 1: That was the first time I saw them, and I
- 38:06Speaker 1: think that was when this album came out. Were they
- 38:07Speaker 1: good live when you saw them? You know, I think
- 38:11Speaker 1: that may have been the first concert I ever... Well,
- 38:13Speaker 1: probably not the first one, but it was at Legion
- 38:16Speaker 1: Field outside, and I was around people that were sharing,
- 38:20Speaker 1: as we used to say back in the 90s, the ganja.
- 38:24Speaker 1: But they seemed... I seem to be entertained. But I
- 38:28Speaker 1: was also entertained at the planes flying over and the clouds.
- 38:31Speaker 4: Adam Duritz is an interesting cat.
- 38:34Speaker 2: He is.
- 38:35Speaker 1: He fluctuates like Mariah Carey on the wait. Different hairstyles, too.
- 38:40Speaker 1: If you see him interviewed now, you have no clue
- 38:41Speaker 1: who it is because of the hairstyle he wore then
- 38:43Speaker 1: and the way he looks now. But I saw a
- 38:45Speaker 1: piece on them some time ago. It was almost like,
- 38:47Speaker 1: I don't know what it was, but it was almost
- 38:48Speaker 1: like a behind-the-music thing. But it wasn't behind-the-music. And they
- 38:52Speaker 1: told the story of when that album came out. I
- 38:53Speaker 1: think it was around here in Mr. Jones they were
- 38:55Speaker 1: going to do on Saturday Night Live. They were the
- 38:57Speaker 1: musical guests on Saturday Night Live, first time they were
- 38:59Speaker 1: ever on there. And the Saturday Night Live people, after
- 39:02Speaker 1: they booked them, came to them and said, we're going
- 39:03Speaker 1: to need you to cut down both songs. We've got
- 39:05Speaker 1: this amount of time and this amount of time. He goes,
- 39:07Speaker 1: we don't cut down songs. He goes, we do the
- 39:08Speaker 1: whole song or we don't do it. And Saturday Night
- 39:11Speaker 1: Live thought they were bluffing. So, you know, they come
- 39:13Speaker 1: back later and tell them again, like, no, we are
- 39:15Speaker 1: not doing the show. And the rest of the band's
- 39:17Speaker 1: telling Adam Duritz, man, this is the chance of a
- 39:19Speaker 1: lifetime for us. And he's like, we're not cutting the
- 39:22Speaker 1: song down. We're doing the whole song or we're not
- 39:23Speaker 1: doing the show. And finally, after a ton of negotiations,
- 39:26Speaker 1: Saturday Night Live relented. And then they come to the. walkthrough,
- 39:31Speaker 1: the run.
- 39:31Speaker 4: Through, whatever, the day of the show, that Saturday. And
- 39:34Speaker 4: the producers come back and say, hey, you guys have
- 39:37Speaker 4: four minutes for this and four minutes for that. And
- 39:38Speaker 4: Doris is like, we'll pack our stuff up and leave
- 39:40Speaker 4: right now. I told them we only do the show
- 39:42Speaker 4: if we do the whole song. And he said it
- 39:44Speaker 4: was right up until showtime until finally they were so
- 39:47Speaker 4: scared that the County Crows were going.
- 39:48Speaker 1: To walk and they weren't going to have a musical guest.
- 39:50Speaker 2: I'm shocked, though.
- 39:51Speaker 1: They finally just relented.
- 39:52Speaker 3: That does not seem at all like Lorne Michaels.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Like, he'd be like, you're going to play chicken with me? Yeah,
- 39:57Speaker 2: you walk.
- 39:58Speaker 4: But apparently he won, and they did the entire song
- 40:01Speaker 4: of both.
- 40:02Speaker 1: See, I would have done what the producers used to
- 40:06Speaker 1: do with me on television. I would have just faded
- 40:07Speaker 1: to black. Start rolling the music. If they tell me
- 40:10Speaker 1: 240 and I go three minutes, they just... Hit that
- 40:14Speaker 1: music and fade to black. I respect him for doing that, though.
- 40:16Speaker 1: I respect him for saying, we're doing our song or
- 40:17Speaker 1: we're not doing the show. Some of those songs got
- 40:19Speaker 1: a little musical rift in it that they could easily
- 40:22Speaker 1: cut out. Not according to Adam Duritz. The most impressive
- 40:25Speaker 1: thing about Adam Duritz to me was the fact that
- 40:27Speaker 1: he dated.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, and Christina Applegate all.
- 40:31Speaker 5: In the 90s.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Especially when you look at the guy here. He's a
- 40:33Speaker 1: goofy-looking guy. How did he do that?
- 40:35Speaker 2: He must have airtight game as far as being able
- 40:37Speaker 2: to talk.
- 40:38Speaker 1: I would venture to say that those were what Lance
- 40:41Speaker 1: thought Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey was. That was for show. Yeah,
- 40:45Speaker 1: those weren't actual relationships.
- 40:46Speaker 3: I mean, you just didn't have as much show back then.
- 40:49Speaker 3: You had the paparazzi a little bit, but we had
- 40:50Speaker 3: no social media.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Speaking of which, before I tell you about Crockett Coffee,
- 40:54Speaker 1: I said this to Forrester earlier. It popped up on
- 40:58Speaker 1: my algorithm because I'm older. Before Google, and I've never
- 41:02Speaker 1: thought about this with encyclopedias, before Google, your parents bought
- 41:08Speaker 1: the entire internet one letter at a time. That is
- 41:11Speaker 1: so true. We used to have encyclopedias, Tyler. Yeah. Basically,
- 41:15Speaker 1: we bought the entire internet one letter at a time.
- 41:19Speaker 2: I loved them, though.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Me too.
- 41:20Speaker 3: I mean, I learned about dogs and sharks. And I mean,
- 41:23Speaker 3: I still remember the pictures and the world encyclopedias that
- 41:26Speaker 3: I grew up with.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Would you.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I can still smell those books.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Oh, I know. It had a distinct smell to it.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Yeah, a historic smell is the way I equate it to.
- 41:36Speaker 9: Now.
- 41:36Speaker 1: The ones I had were bought in the 50s. Don't
- 41:41Speaker 1: wait for it updated at all. I mean, they were
- 41:43Speaker 1: the 50s. I mean, things change. And I was looking
- 41:45Speaker 1: at them in the 70s and 80s. So it was different.
- 41:49Speaker 1: I mean, 30 years. I liked finding things that had
- 41:51Speaker 1: changed by the time I found it. I will further
- 41:54Speaker 1: blow young Tyler's mind. Well, wait, cocaine's not good for you?
- 41:58Speaker 4: I will further blow your mind. There were door-to-door encyclopedia salesmen.
- 42:01Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 42:02Speaker 4: They would come to your house to try to sell
- 42:03Speaker 4: you a new set of encyclopedias.
- 42:05Speaker 9: See, I've seen that in TV shows, and it always
- 42:07Speaker 9: just sounded like a fake career they made up just
- 42:10Speaker 9: for the show.
- 42:11Speaker 2: There's an episode on Friends of that.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Joey could only afford one letter. The V?
- 42:15Speaker 2: It was the V.
- 42:16Speaker 1: And he was very knowledgeable about everything with letter Vs.
- 42:21Speaker 1: He was very knowledgeable. All right, Crockett Coffee, man. I
- 42:25Speaker 1: enjoyed this taste. You can too, because... At Crockett Coffee,
- 42:29Speaker 1: you've got this great 100% pure Arabica bean, high-altitude bean,

- 43:26Speaker 1: do a little college football true or false. Everybody have
- 43:29Speaker 1: their true false panel ready to go? All right, first one.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Let's listen to Brent Venables before I ask the first one.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Here's Brent Venables on the difficulty of their path after
- 43:41Speaker 1: taking an early loss. Here's the Sooners head coach.
- 43:45Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, it's no more difficult than it was
- 43:47Speaker 6: two weeks ago. It's the same schedule. and our guys
- 43:51Speaker 6: are ready for it. They understand the challenge, looking forward
- 43:56Speaker 6: to the challenge, looking forward to getting an opportunity to
- 43:58Speaker 6: go back out and compete again. This is a group
- 44:01Speaker 6: of players and coaches that got the right stuff to them.
- 44:05Speaker 6: They're not going to be fearful of all of a
- 44:07Speaker 6: sudden you lost one score game on the road in
- 44:10Speaker 6: front of 107,000 people. You lost a game where you
- 44:13Speaker 6: had an opportunity late with the ball to go down
- 44:15Speaker 6: and tie it up.
- 44:17Speaker 2: There's no worry or doubt.
- 44:20Speaker 6: Or fatalistic mindset. That's not this locker room.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Okay, fatalistic mindset. Fatalistic mindset. Oklahoma is not a playoff
- 44:31Speaker 1: team this year. True or false?
- 44:34Speaker 4: Lance goes false, I go true. All right, I'll say true.
- 44:37Speaker 4: I think by before Halloween, they'll be out. Because I
- 44:42Speaker 4: think they're going to lose two of the next three.
- 44:44Speaker 4: I think they're going to lose at Georgia and lose
- 44:45Speaker 4: to Texas. in the Red River shootout, and three losses,
- 44:50Speaker 4: they're done.
- 44:51Speaker 1: You're still by Oklahoma.
- 44:52Speaker 3: I'm still by, and look, I thought they were going
- 44:54Speaker 3: to lose the game last week. I said that, and
- 44:57Speaker 3: it makes the path much more difficult, and it looks
- 44:59Speaker 3: like at Georgia, where Georgia's probably going to be a
- 45:02Speaker 3: nine-point favorite, that looks like a game that's going to
- 45:06Speaker 3: be really, really difficult for them to win. But I
- 45:08Speaker 3: would say, after Alabama looked so bad in week one,
- 45:11Speaker 3: the overreaction last year against Florida State, Alabama goes out,
- 45:14Speaker 3: wins 10 of their next 11. They're the number one
- 45:16Speaker 3: seed in the SEC championship.
- 45:18Speaker 2: I look at this schedule.
- 45:19Speaker 3: Some parts have maybe gotten more difficult at Mississippi State,
- 45:22Speaker 3: at Florida. But, you know, Texas A & M doesn't
- 45:26Speaker 3: look as difficult as it did to me, at least
- 45:29Speaker 3: on paper. I still think Oklahoma, with that defense, they
- 45:32Speaker 3: could not have played worse. on Saturday offensively, giving up
- 45:36Speaker 3: the short field to the touchdown that.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Ended up beating them. I'm going to hang in there
- 45:40Speaker 2: with Oklahoma.
- 45:41Speaker 3: Again, Mateer is not taking the step I thought he
- 45:44Speaker 3: would take, but they've got a new weapon in Rocky Beers,
- 45:47Speaker 3: and I think that's going to be big.
- 45:48Speaker 4: Well, if they lose at Georgia, which I think they will,
- 45:49Speaker 4: that tightrope is going to be dangerous.
- 45:51Speaker 6: It is.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Right?
- 45:52Speaker 2: But with three losses real quick, they could still get there.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Good, yeah. Ryan Day has a close game problem. Ryan
- 45:59Speaker 1: Day has a close game problem. True or false?
- 46:04Speaker 2: I mean, I would need to look at one-score games.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but I guess it's kind of true.
- 46:08Speaker 4: Those Michigan games have largely been one-score games, right? The
- 46:11Speaker 4: Georgia game that he lost.
- 46:13Speaker 3: He doesn't lose games, and maybe the only games he
- 46:15Speaker 3: loses is close games.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Well, that's sort of the ones Nick Saban lost, too,
- 46:20Speaker 1: with the close games, right?
- 46:21Speaker 2: I mean, that's what's going to happen when you're an
- 46:23Speaker 2: elite coach.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right.
- 46:24Speaker 2: You're not going to get blown out.
- 46:25Speaker 1: This is a hard question.
- 46:26Speaker 3: I'm going to say false. He's won a national championship.
- 46:29Speaker 3: They're going to be back in a college football playoff
- 46:31Speaker 3: this year.
- 46:32Speaker 1: I bet the stats would show. that his record in
- 46:37Speaker 1: one-possession games is not very good.
- 46:39Speaker 4: But I bet it, like you said, would show the
- 46:40Speaker 4: same thing for Nick Saban. When you blow a lot
- 46:42Speaker 4: of people out, you're only going to lose one-possession games.
- 46:45Speaker 1: You don't lose a lot of games, but when you do,
- 46:47Speaker 1: it's usually a pretty close game because you're such a
- 46:49Speaker 1: good coach.
- 46:49Speaker 3: I'm going to keep with the false narrative right here.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Right now, as we sit here today, you think the
- 46:57Speaker 1: Big 12 gets multiple bids in the college football playoffs.
- 47:01Speaker 1: True or false? I'm going to join Lance on the
- 47:02Speaker 1: false narrative here.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to keep rolling.
- 47:05Speaker 3: I think the Big 12 is going to be awesome
- 47:06Speaker 3: this year. I don't think there's going to be undefeated teams,
- 47:10Speaker 3: and I think with the perception of the Big 12,
- 47:12Speaker 3: I think a two-loss.
- 47:13Speaker 2: Team or maybe a one-loss with BYU-Utah. They've got to
- 47:17Speaker 2: play each other. I think a two-loss could win it.
- 47:19Speaker 1: I think your path to two– Their winner gets in automatically.
- 47:23Speaker 3: No, I know that's what I'm saying, but you're not
- 47:25Speaker 3: going to get an at-large if the winner's at two-loss.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Your path to two teams, I think, was Texas Tech
- 47:30Speaker 1: be spectacular this year. and then get tripped up in
- 47:33Speaker 1: the conference championship game. And that has not happened.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Well, no, the path was, yeah, they beat Spectacular 12-0,
- 47:38Speaker 3: and then they face a 12-0 Utah or BYU to
- 47:41Speaker 3: beat the other and both get it.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Two more pretty quick here. Dante Moore... made a mistake
- 47:49Speaker 1: returning to college football. He should have gone to the NFL.
- 47:52Speaker 1: I mean, it's quick.
- 47:53Speaker 4: I mean, if you, if I, I will say true
- 47:56Speaker 4: through week two, let me just say it that way.
- 47:58Speaker 2: I'm going to keep with the faults.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Okay.
- 48:00Speaker 3: I don't think he was going to be number one.
- 48:02Speaker 3: I know there was some, some chatter about that. I
- 48:05Speaker 3: don't think he was going to the Rams. Like I
- 48:06Speaker 3: think the Rams really, really likes Ty Simpson. So he
- 48:09Speaker 3: would have been the third quarterback. He could still be that.
- 48:12Speaker 3: This is really, really early in the season. Still super
- 48:14Speaker 3: talented guy, and he's making a ton of money right
- 48:16Speaker 3: now in Eugene, so I'm going to go Fultz.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Last one. When the season is done, Austin Simmons of
- 48:23Speaker 1: Missouri and Camario Taylor of Mississippi State will be top
- 48:26Speaker 1: five SEC quarterbacks when the season is done.
- 48:29Speaker 4: Are you just talking like passing yards per game or
- 48:31Speaker 4: something like that? Just QBR, perception. You're talking about both,
- 48:36Speaker 4: not just one of two.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Both in the SEC. I'll go Fultz on both.
- 48:40Speaker 2: I'll go Fultz on both.
- 48:41Speaker 1: I would go Camario if I had to pick one.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think both could be. I wouldn't be shocked, but.
- 48:46Speaker 3: I'm going to say Camario. I could see Austin be,
- 48:51Speaker 3: but I don't think both.
- 48:52Speaker 1: I can't wait to talk to Brooks Austin to get
- 48:55Speaker 1: his thoughts on Arch Banning. A lot of Arch played
- 48:57Speaker 1: bad comments out there. I'd love to hear what Brooks
- 49:02Speaker 1: has to say about that. and about Keelan and all
- 49:06Speaker 1: the tape that Brooks Austin looks at. We'll get to
- 49:08Speaker 1: him when we come back. True. We will get to
- 49:11Speaker 1: him next. The next round presented by Hard Rock Bets
- 49:13Speaker 1: right here on Sporting States.
