Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back.
- 0:14Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 0:14Speaker 1: Everybody is Jeff Moster, Adam Kaplan Mosher here on the
- 0:18Speaker 1: East Coast, Kaplan out there in the Bay Area media row,
- 0:22Speaker 1: whatever you want to call it. And what a big
- 0:25Speaker 1: day so far for Eagles news. While you're out in
- 0:28Speaker 1: San Francisco. Adam on the on the anniversary of the
- 0:32Speaker 1: Eagles first Super Bowl win, which had everybody excited in
- 0:36Speaker 1: the morning. It was a big topic of discussion on
- 0:39Speaker 1: sports talk radio. But then as the day goes on,
- 0:42Speaker 1: we learned that Jeff Stoutlin has called the quits as
- 0:45Speaker 1: the Eagles offensive line coach.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Adam I think people.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Have been looking for reasons to be encouraged inspired. You know,
- 0:52Speaker 1: we're trying to see how this new offense is gonna look.
- 0:54Speaker 1: But you know, Vic Fangio almost considering retirement, and now
- 0:57Speaker 1: this is uh, sort of shell shocking for the followers.
- 1:03Speaker 3: I was I'm gonna be straight up, I was not
- 1:04Speaker 3: expecting this. Folks know, I've been with our show for
- 1:07Speaker 3: nine years now. You know what, I'm not surprised because
- 1:10Speaker 3: you know, we we kind of give Okay, here's what
- 1:12Speaker 3: we heard bind the scenes as a week ago.
- 1:14Speaker 4: This is not happening.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I'm not saying anything my senses and cause I know
- 1:19Speaker 3: O line coaches, no Stout. I have to believe, and
- 1:22Speaker 3: we're gonna find out in the next forty eight hours
- 1:23Speaker 3: what the truth is. They were talking about certain things
- 1:26Speaker 3: they just could not agree and then Stout put a
- 1:29Speaker 3: statement out.
- 1:30Speaker 4: The egos put something out, and.
- 1:32Speaker 3: It's gotta be tough, starting left to right for my
- 1:35Speaker 3: lotta of course, Rudabaut, Mylotta Stout right right.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:40Speaker 3: The only O line coach, Lane Johnson nover. Remember Chip
- 1:42Speaker 3: Kelly brought him in twenty thirteen. Jergie Dickerson.
- 1:48Speaker 2: You know, Adam, You're right.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I heard I read actually somebody jokingly say the only
- 1:52Speaker 1: good thing Chip Kelly ever did for this franchise was
- 1:55Speaker 1: bring in Jeff Stoutlin and draft Lane Johnson. So and
- 1:58Speaker 1: now the future of Lane Johnson is somewhat in question.
- 2:01Speaker 1: As you know, the only coach he's ever played for
- 2:04Speaker 1: is now not going to be his coach.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I am with you.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I actually reached out to someone who has ties to
- 2:10Speaker 1: the Eagles organization, has been with the Eagles organization, and
- 2:14Speaker 1: to your point, this person was shocked they had heard
- 2:17Speaker 1: some of the same things about you, about Stalin's role
- 2:20Speaker 1: and everything, but not this person said, this guy's relationship
- 2:25Speaker 1: with the owner, Jeffrey Lourie is so tight that he
- 2:28Speaker 1: had a hard time believing that it was going to
- 2:31Speaker 1: end like this.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Just abruptly like that.
- 2:33Speaker 1: And so we're reacting instantly to this right now, and
- 2:36Speaker 1: you're right, in the next twenty four to forty eight hours,
- 2:38Speaker 1: we'll probably get a little bit.
- 2:40Speaker 2: More information as to out all we will.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, because first of all, a line coaches you
- 2:45Speaker 3: and I know they're gonna want this job. Now, maybe Manion,
- 2:49Speaker 3: from a schematic standpoint, things are going to change.
- 2:51Speaker 4: They have to the running West Coast.
- 2:54Speaker 3: As someone who's coaching that system, it's not like you
- 2:56Speaker 3: won't run any gap scheme, but it's gonna be a
- 3:00Speaker 3: lot more zone. You know, no, no, no way to
- 3:02Speaker 3: know what right And oh god, that's all right. So
- 3:05Speaker 3: let me tell you this, Jeff. Let let's tell the truth.
- 3:09Speaker 3: On Stout and Motion, we haven't talked about in like
- 3:11Speaker 3: three years. We've talked about support people forgot, but shame
- 3:13Speaker 3: us for not bringing it up recently. The way we
- 3:17Speaker 3: were told on Stout Motion is and he's not the
- 3:19Speaker 3: only offensive line coach has an issue with it in
- 3:22Speaker 3: terms of angles because when the edges move and the
- 3:26Speaker 3: linebackers move, you have to you have to you have
- 3:31Speaker 3: to worry about your angles angle blocking, or your angles
- 3:35Speaker 3: the rush angles. You have to worry and o line
- 3:37Speaker 3: coaches have to adjust to it. Suff just doesn't like it.
- 3:39Speaker 3: That's what someone who would know told me, who kind
- 3:42Speaker 3: of educated me on this stuff, because you know how
- 3:44Speaker 3: that would I know anything about this.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Stuff, right, So, yeah, motion causes a defense to shift,
- 3:49Speaker 1: and then when the defense shifts, the blocking has to
- 3:51Speaker 1: change because the linebackers and other guys are usually in
- 3:54Speaker 1: a different spot from before the motion, so it changes it.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Now, this line coach said, I don't like it either,
- 4:00Speaker 3: because I'm just telling you because I know Stout.
- 4:02Speaker 4: A lot of us know Stout mm hmm.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Everybody loves him most one of the most beloved coaches
- 4:07Speaker 3: in NFL history, not Eagles history only.
- 4:09Speaker 4: He's just a wonderful human being.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Uh.
- 4:12Speaker 4: He has an advisor who is pretty sharp.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Can't get into that who that is, but someone who's
- 4:17Speaker 3: advised him for a while, and we'll fight for him.
- 4:20Speaker 3: And by the way, how he's been, how he's been
- 4:23Speaker 3: one of the biggest supporters. Of fact, he probably had
- 4:25Speaker 3: no other bigger supporter in the building than how he
- 4:27Speaker 3: mm hmm. You know how he lived the Chip Kelly thing.
- 4:30Speaker 3: You know what happened with Howie and Chip. But give
- 4:32Speaker 3: as you said, give Chip credit, Dave Fipp and some
- 4:36Speaker 3: of the sport whatever. Chip Kelly was mostly a disaster,
- 4:39Speaker 3: but he actually did some good things. But getting back
- 4:40Speaker 3: to Stout here, I'm stunned. I was not expecting this one.
- 4:45Speaker 3: I I because you and I were on this last week.
- 4:48Speaker 3: You know rumors and you know, are they going to
- 4:52Speaker 3: masculate Stout?
- 4:53Speaker 4: What are they gonna do? And you know how much
- 4:54Speaker 4: power he is gonna have.
- 4:55Speaker 3: We know if he came back to his line coach
- 4:56Speaker 3: that all, he wasn't coming back with the run game coordinator.
- 4:59Speaker 3: But or what still an on line coach? What's the difference.
- 5:02Speaker 3: I mean, okay, you don't have the title. They're not
- 5:05Speaker 3: gonna strip them with money, at least I don't think
- 5:08Speaker 3: they did now that Who the hell? I didn't even
- 5:11Speaker 3: think of that as I just said it. Maybe because
- 5:13Speaker 3: if you're taking away the title, he's still the on
- 5:16Speaker 3: line coach. It's apposed to be the old line coach,
- 5:17Speaker 3: but he would help us on the run, game powering,
- 5:20Speaker 3: time to ski and scheme, right.
- 5:22Speaker 4: So I don't know. I'm just I'm just going through
- 5:24Speaker 4: my mind.
- 5:25Speaker 3: About what would happen, because I again I was not
- 5:27Speaker 3: I'm reacting. We usually don't react. We give you the
- 5:30Speaker 3: inf we tell you what this is, what we know.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I'm going with what I know, but still being stunned
- 5:34Speaker 3: by it. I'm I thought a week ago was gonna
- 5:38Speaker 3: have like and again you don't. I'm trying to get
- 5:42Speaker 3: to people understand this. Just because you people say, oh,
- 5:44Speaker 3: there were ten coaching changes, they're going to get somebody.
- 5:46Speaker 3: It doesn't work like that. Coaches, head coaches and coordinators.
- 5:51Speaker 3: They have deals done before they take the job. They go, hey,
- 5:54Speaker 3: if I get this job, you're coming with me. You're
- 5:56Speaker 3: my guy, right, So just understand that it doesn't work
- 6:00Speaker 3: like that. That they're gonna wait and the timing is
- 6:02Speaker 3: not good. He goes, I'm sure, man, you must know
- 6:04Speaker 3: somebody how he's good at helping. Maybe Grizzar could help
- 6:08Speaker 3: him on him again. The time to me is kind
- 6:09Speaker 3: of stunnach.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Yeah, you know when we were talking to people a
- 6:13Speaker 1: couple of days ago about Vic Fangio, and you had
- 6:15Speaker 1: heard that there was coaches who were wondering about whether Fanji.
- 6:19Speaker 1: It's not like anybody said, oh, and by the way, man,
- 6:21Speaker 1: you really should check on Jeff Setlin because this because,
- 6:25Speaker 1: like you're saying, this was a surprise, a stock that
- 6:28Speaker 1: sort of came out of left field for the team.
- 6:30Speaker 1: And it'll be interesting to see what becomes of him.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Does he take a year off, does he try to
- 6:37Speaker 1: hang around. I know he's allowed to, uh sort of
- 6:40Speaker 1: what play some kind of role with the organization, but
- 6:43Speaker 1: you know that teams are gonna come calling for him,
- 6:46Speaker 1: and they'll probably say things like it, hey, run your run,
- 6:49Speaker 1: your run game, we'll take your run game. We know
- 6:50Speaker 1: we don't do it their way. Then come on here.
- 6:52Speaker 3: I mean the player development, Jeff, the player development with
- 6:56Speaker 3: this guy?
- 6:56Speaker 4: Ye are you?
- 6:57Speaker 3: I mean, as you're saying, who wouldn't want this guy?
- 7:00Speaker 3: You make a good point. I gms want the players developed.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Head coaches want the players developed so they don't get fired.
- 7:09Speaker 3: So stout is I mean you couldn't pay this guy enough? Yeah, honestly,
- 7:13Speaker 3: I can get it, and we don't. I mean I don't.
- 7:15Speaker 3: I don't know this guy very well. I mean, I
- 7:16Speaker 3: actually don't really know him. I know I know coaches
- 7:19Speaker 3: who know him and other people. I say hello to
- 7:21Speaker 3: him if I saw myself. But wegmans a couple of times.
- 7:24Speaker 3: But you know, it's uh, there's going to be a
- 7:27Speaker 3: lot of change more. Another thing I'll be honest about.
- 7:30Speaker 3: I expected there are three or four coaches or net
- 7:34Speaker 3: koutes everything, press game coordinator, whatever.
- 7:38Speaker 4: But this is not one of the three or four
- 7:40Speaker 4: I thought.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Would be moving on I but this is on what
- 7:43Speaker 3: you said. I just want people to understand it's not
- 7:45Speaker 3: like this is that this all just Scott decided today
- 7:48Speaker 3: that he wasn't gonna come back. These are conversations you're
- 7:50Speaker 3: having with him about what his role will be, what's
- 7:53Speaker 3: he comfortable with, what Kenny figure out way to make
- 7:57Speaker 3: Manion happy. There's a scheme and and everything. It's just
- 8:02Speaker 3: it's it's just not easy.
- 8:03Speaker 2: It's not Yeah.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Yeah, by the way, is that my man Dave Burkett
- 8:07Speaker 1: over your right shoulder behind you there?
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah, there he is. Tom Jeff Mosher says, hey, so
- 8:14Speaker 2: he got there. He is hello.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Yeah he said he said hello. But I saw I
- 8:20Speaker 3: saw a guy Ryan Laife, Ma hade A great talk
- 8:23Speaker 3: it has been. And I shook hands and then he
- 8:26Speaker 3: and then he blew me off. No, I just kid
- 8:27Speaker 3: I he had to go no, so b G No,
- 8:31Speaker 3: No what other I haven't seen Actually I have not
- 8:34Speaker 3: seen it. I know Jurgens is here, but I guess
- 8:36Speaker 3: he didn't want to talk.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, well he probably he heard the news what happens? Yeah, so, Adam.
- 8:42Speaker 2: One thing that really sticks out, though I'm sure he
- 8:44Speaker 2: knew about it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:46Speaker 1: The the player development from Stout has been absolutely unbelievable.
- 8:51Speaker 2: No, you can't even match it.
- 8:53Speaker 1: However, I know that you and I whenever we have
- 8:56Speaker 1: Greg cosel on and we talk about people who run
- 8:58Speaker 1: the Shanahan scheme where the mixed a scheme, it always
- 9:01Speaker 1: seems like the offensive line development is not as big
- 9:04Speaker 1: of a deal as the offensive line symmetry and the
- 9:08Speaker 1: way the runs schemes are. Because we're constantly saying, man,
- 9:11Speaker 1: you can't find like other than Trent Williams for the
- 9:14Speaker 1: forty nine ers, who's great exactly, but the four other
- 9:17Speaker 1: guys are just like guys. The guys who make up
- 9:20Speaker 1: the RAMS line are like guy like you know. That's
- 9:22Speaker 1: the thing with this this offense.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Is you need a.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Great point, you.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Know, Yeah, it's a great point because Alaric Jackson, the
- 9:32Speaker 3: Rams tackle, was an undrafted free agent okay high prayed
- 9:34Speaker 3: undrafted free agent tackle in NFL history.
- 9:37Speaker 4: And I mean Jonah Jackson didn't work out.
- 9:39Speaker 3: They pay them all that money, you know, they trade
- 9:41Speaker 3: to the Bears. It's it's it's what body types matching up.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Wasn't a great player?
- 9:48Speaker 1: How about the jackar Dever the Jaguars, you would say
- 9:51Speaker 1: their weakness was their whole line, and they won thirteen
- 9:53Speaker 1: games behind Liam Cohen.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Who's in the game coaching matters. Man, Yeah, players one
- 9:58Speaker 4: coaching one A.
- 9:59Speaker 3: You can don't let anyone foil you can't have one
- 10:03Speaker 3: with the other to be a Super Bowl champion. But
- 10:05Speaker 3: Stout will go down as one of the most important
- 10:08Speaker 3: coaches at Eagles history.
- 10:09Speaker 4: And I don't know what else to say.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Yeah, no, no, we'll get more and we'll certainly address
- 10:13Speaker 1: this more on some further podcasts. I joked with a
- 10:16Speaker 1: friend Adam, that you know this, this sort of feels
- 10:20Speaker 1: like the scene in Goodfellas after the Lusanza heist where
- 10:23Speaker 1: everybody starts winding up dead like.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Batulo is gone.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Then we now we know Scott Loefler, he's gonna be
- 10:29Speaker 1: gone because they're talking to quarterback coach candidates. And then,
- 10:31Speaker 1: of course, but now Stout's gone, and and I imagine
- 10:34Speaker 1: there will be more changes for this Eagles offensive staff,
- 10:37Speaker 1: and I know you know that.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Yeah, no, no Petula.
- 10:40Speaker 3: And what we were told is that he was actually
- 10:43Speaker 3: offered a job me sort of like I don't know
- 10:45Speaker 3: what the title, chief of staff.
- 10:48Speaker 4: It's just to help Nick out.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Which he definitely needs, but more administrative because part of
- 10:53Speaker 3: it when he was the pass game coordinator, he did
- 10:55Speaker 3: some stuff administratively for Nick, we're told, but you know
- 10:59Speaker 3: left flow, he's.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Not coming back as quarterback coach. I know that.
- 11:03Speaker 3: I mean I talked to a couple of coaching agents
- 11:04Speaker 3: who quarterback coaches. They're trying to get their guys interviewed.
- 11:08Speaker 3: And there's a scoop up from NFL network on Greg Olsen.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Huh is that out there?
- 11:12Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 11:12Speaker 1: So the Eagles to talk to two quarterback coach candidates,
- 11:16Speaker 1: obviously Greg Olsen and then a younger kid, a thirty
- 11:20Speaker 1: year old kid from Arizona named I just forgot his
- 11:24Speaker 1: name all of a sudden. Singer is his last name
- 11:27Speaker 1: and yeah, so they're obviously looking for Greg Olsen Connor Singer.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Connor Singer is the guy from Arizona, Okay. Greg Olsen
- 11:37Speaker 1: is a guy who has ties to Manion. First of all,
- 11:39Speaker 1: greg Olsen's been coaching in the NFL, as you know,
- 11:41Speaker 1: since two thousand and one. He's sixty something sixty years old.
- 11:44Speaker 1: He's been on on eight different teams. He's been with
- 11:47Speaker 1: the Raiders three times, the Rams twice, and he's been
- 11:51Speaker 1: in two spots where Manyon was when Manion was playing,
- 11:53Speaker 1: So there's a tie there.
- 11:56Speaker 3: He is a legendary coach. I know coaches an know him.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Tell me that he coaches hard.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Yep.
- 12:05Speaker 3: His his daughter is actually an incredible volleyball player. I
- 12:08Speaker 3: just know it's back when I've checked into it before.
- 12:11Speaker 3: I know coaches that coach with with the Rams, so
- 12:12Speaker 3: I kind of know a little bit about him, but
- 12:15Speaker 3: it would be a great get.
- 12:16Speaker 4: I guess he knows Manyon.
- 12:17Speaker 1: You're telling me, Uh, yeah, he coached with the Rams
- 12:21Speaker 1: in two thousand and I want to say eighteen or
- 12:23Speaker 1: nineteen when Many was Manyon's second year.
- 12:26Speaker 2: He was coaching under.
- 12:27Speaker 1: McVeigh there and then in Seattle under Waldron. He was
- 12:31Speaker 1: the quarterbacks coach one year. And that's a year that
- 12:34Speaker 1: Many was only there for like a like three weeks
- 12:37Speaker 1: because he started off with Minnesota and then finished up
- 12:40Speaker 1: with Seattle.
- 12:40Speaker 2: But he's been around him that there's a tie there.
- 12:43Speaker 1: And as you know, I don't have to tell you this,
- 12:45Speaker 1: but Olson has been with all the West coast guys.
- 12:47Speaker 2: He's been with John Gruden.
- 12:49Speaker 1: He's been with Mariucci, he's been with McVeigh, he's been with.
- 12:55Speaker 4: He was he was Dark Cars.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Oh see, I know that up twenty fourteen, twenty thirteen,
- 13:01Speaker 3: something like that.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Yeah, so I think he was even with Marinelli in
- 13:06Speaker 1: with the Detroit No, no, Lenahan in Detroit, who's not
- 13:09Speaker 1: necessarily West coast.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Wow. Yeah.
- 13:11Speaker 2: But but the point is he's very familiar with Marinella.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Mariucci's West Coast. No, he's Mariucci.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Yes, I meant Linahan. I don't think Lenahan is.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah he's not. But he was with he
- 13:22Speaker 4: developed Lke Bortles a little bit when Bortals.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Had to blow up a year that won crazy year
- 13:25Speaker 3: he had whether throwing like crazy Al Robinson. Great, No,
- 13:30Speaker 3: it's uh, that's it's always because remember we were trying
- 13:34Speaker 3: to find who does he know?
- 13:35Speaker 4: This has a got a good call by you that
- 13:36Speaker 4: that's that's who he knows.
- 13:37Speaker 2: There you go, yeah, yeah, so he knows the system.
- 13:40Speaker 2: He's been around many in a little bit.
- 13:42Speaker 1: And I think more importantly if they wind up bringing
- 13:44Speaker 1: him in, is what you just said.
- 13:46Speaker 2: This guy's a let. I mean, he's been coaching for
- 13:47Speaker 2: almost thirty years.
- 13:48Speaker 1: He's really really in all of these years, he's always
- 13:52Speaker 1: either been offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach, or assistant head coach.
- 13:56Speaker 1: This is not like for the last twenty five years
- 13:58Speaker 1: he's had a very prominent position. This is not some
- 14:00Speaker 1: guy like Manion right who has no experience, who has
- 14:03Speaker 1: only been quality control.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I mean, this is a dude for offense.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Yeah wow.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I mean to see where he is from, but this
- 14:10Speaker 3: is kind of he's coached a lot on the West Coast,
- 14:13Speaker 3: kind of a you know, maybe he's tied with Manion. I'm,
- 14:16Speaker 3: you know, not sure about that, but the fact that
- 14:18Speaker 3: Manion would like to have him is fascinating.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Right now.
- 14:21Speaker 1: The only other tie with the other guy from Arizona, Senger,
- 14:25Speaker 1: who is a fast riser. I mean he's gone from
- 14:27Speaker 1: Fellowship to quality control to quarterbacks coach to pass game
- 14:31Speaker 1: coordinator in four years. Okay, that's it. He's got no
- 14:34Speaker 1: other coaching experience in the NFL. He he has no
- 14:38Speaker 1: tie to Manion that I know of, other than last week.
- 14:41Speaker 1: They were both coaching at the East West Shrine Bowl
- 14:45Speaker 1: and Manion was the offensive coordinator for the East and
- 14:48Speaker 1: Sanger was the offensive coordinator for the West. So I'm
- 14:50Speaker 1: guessing they spent a lot of time together last week,
- 14:53Speaker 1: got to know each other, and he's just bringing him
- 14:56Speaker 1: in to say, to get an interview and find out
- 14:58Speaker 1: more about Hi.
- 15:00Speaker 4: Smart.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Look.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Yeah, the only negative is they've too much.
- 15:04Speaker 3: They're getting too young with the influencers with their offense.
- 15:09Speaker 3: PGC one years and pgc's thirty five years old. Brazard,
- 15:14Speaker 3: the the OC's thirty three.
- 15:17Speaker 4: It's only be thirty. You're in coaching.
- 15:19Speaker 3: And the kid that you're talking about from Arizona, they
- 15:21Speaker 3: need a bit, They need someone from a Stenier standpoint. Actually,
- 15:24Speaker 3: what they ought to do is get Aultates a senior
- 15:27Speaker 3: offensive assistant to help these kids. Man and Nick needs
- 15:30Speaker 3: it also needs help. They need they need older people.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I can't believe up saying this like Leffler, I don't
- 15:36Speaker 3: know how old he's got to be.
- 15:37Speaker 4: He must be around fifty or something. We'll see what happens.
- 15:41Speaker 2: We will see it happens. I agree with you.
- 15:43Speaker 1: It's a major, major change, and I think it's so
- 15:47Speaker 1: much change for an organization that Howie Roseman said just
- 15:51Speaker 1: to last month, this is an urgency to win organization.
- 15:54Speaker 1: They're not refreshed. This is not in their minds a
- 15:56Speaker 1: reset or refresh. It might be for the offense, but
- 15:59Speaker 1: they expect to win. But to your and you've made
- 16:01Speaker 1: this point and I echo it like this stuff sometimes
- 16:04Speaker 1: takes time. They're learning entirely new offense, new concept stuff
- 16:09Speaker 1: they haven't done before. And now they've got like coaches
- 16:12Speaker 1: who have been in the building for a long long
- 16:14Speaker 1: time who are not gonna be there, who are not
- 16:16Speaker 1: gonna be have those relationships.
- 16:18Speaker 2: It is going to be.
- 16:19Speaker 1: A very very interesting offseason and then training camp for
- 16:22Speaker 1: this team.
- 16:22Speaker 2: And it's I.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Can understand why people would say, wait a minute, how
- 16:27Speaker 1: can you be win now and then make all these
- 16:29Speaker 1: sweeping changes. But I'll tell you what, Adam. The spotlights
- 16:32Speaker 1: on Nick and Jalen here, I mean they it couldn't
- 16:35Speaker 1: get it couldn't get hot hotter on them as far
- 16:38Speaker 1: as the spotlight shining on them, saying you got to
- 16:41Speaker 1: perform this year.
- 16:42Speaker 3: You know, it's a shame Leffler from what I'm told,
- 16:44Speaker 3: develop the good relationship with Hurts again. I know he
- 16:48Speaker 3: doesn't know. I understand that when you don't know somebody.
- 16:52Speaker 3: I'm not defending Hurts, but there's so much change for
- 16:54Speaker 3: this guy.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Yeah, No, it's tough. You know what.
- 16:57Speaker 4: I want to Mac Jones this here, I want to
- 16:58Speaker 4: talk to him tomorrow.
- 16:59Speaker 3: I'm gona try grab him, try to get him on
- 17:02Speaker 3: ninety seven to three when I'm on is he obviously
- 17:05Speaker 3: the connection and what it's like and you have a
- 17:07Speaker 3: lot of change for Brian Hoyer's here, who we know
- 17:10Speaker 3: is put on our show.
- 17:11Speaker 4: He went through in New England. He went through it.
- 17:14Speaker 4: But this is some precedent. How much change Hurts is having.
- 17:17Speaker 4: I'm not depending.
- 17:17Speaker 3: I'm just trying to figure out how you get him
- 17:19Speaker 3: to take the next step when you have so much
- 17:21Speaker 3: change and he's you know, and he and here's again, folks,
- 17:24Speaker 3: to finish us off. He doesn't play with timing. How
- 17:26Speaker 3: do you get how do you get him to play faster?
- 17:29Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 17:30Speaker 4: With two young coaches that's never will never developed the quarterback.
- 17:34Speaker 2: You're right, You're absolutely right. Anyway, by the.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Way, I heard Jeff Garcia on with our Friends at
- 17:40Speaker 1: ninety seven three years Oh is he good? First of all,
- 17:43Speaker 1: Jeff could probably afford he might need to switch the decalf. Secondly,
- 17:49Speaker 1: he said he called because he he was with man Yon.
- 17:52Speaker 2: He was an assistant coach one on mcveigh's team a
- 17:55Speaker 2: couple of years ago.
- 17:56Speaker 4: I think he said maybe like a Scott was he
- 17:58Speaker 4: an intern or.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Yeah, some low level coaching with someone and he got
- 18:03Speaker 1: to he said, Mannion was there at the time, so he's.
- 18:05Speaker 2: He's got to know him.
- 18:06Speaker 1: And he called the Eagles recently, he said, both the
- 18:09Speaker 1: head coach and and Howie to say, hey, I would
- 18:12Speaker 1: like to come help out. I know this offense like
- 18:14Speaker 1: the back of my hand, and nobody's calling him back.
- 18:17Speaker 2: He said, So.
- 18:19Speaker 1: You know, here you got a guy who's a veteran
- 18:21Speaker 1: guy who's probably could be really knowledgeable.
- 18:24Speaker 3: But there there's there's yeah Garcie about his his It's
- 18:28Speaker 3: actually a great series and Vice channel real quick, you
- 18:31Speaker 3: guys could watch it. It's on the Giants Niners playoff
- 18:36Speaker 3: game when the Niners came from way back, maybe around
- 18:38Speaker 3: twenty points. I said, Jeff, you did an unbelievable I
- 18:41Speaker 3: talked to like thirty seconds.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Oh, that's the trade junking game.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Okay, I I think it was yep, but they didn't
- 18:49Speaker 3: really talk about junkin. That's why I thought it was odd.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Oh they had a big comeback. Yeah, I don't know.
- 18:54Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 18:54Speaker 3: But anyway, a lot of change here coming for the
- 18:57Speaker 3: Eagles offensive coaching staff. It sounds like out there what
- 19:00Speaker 3: we're hearing, we'll see. We'll just see what happens that one.
- 19:06Speaker 3: I'm I'm kind of blown away because I you know,
- 19:12Speaker 3: I can't go in all of it. But nothing I
- 19:14Speaker 3: heard which Justin's gonna happen. But that's why I think
- 19:16Speaker 3: it's sort of a like, okay, give and take. What
- 19:19Speaker 3: could we do to get him back?
- 19:20Speaker 4: Right? What's he willing to do? I don't know. We're
- 19:23Speaker 4: gonna find out, though.
- 19:24Speaker 5: Hey, it's that time of the year that everyone's trying

- 22:46Speaker 4: Oh yeah, it's always cool.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Now it's much smaller here at the Moscone Center, apparently,
- 22:50Speaker 3: Matt Mayoko told me last time I was here at fifteen,
- 22:55Speaker 3: it was in another one of the convention halls.
- 22:57Speaker 4: It was way bigger, twice as big as this. It's
- 22:59Speaker 4: very tight.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Now, what's helping it helped us is Mike Gill's table
- 23:03Speaker 3: from nine to seven to three is right in the middle.
- 23:06Speaker 3: So I ran into Rodney Harrison's agent, Steve Felban, who
- 23:10Speaker 3: had Corey Dillon. He was one of the he was
- 23:12Speaker 3: like the rosen ass of his days in the seventies.
- 23:13Speaker 4: Now, yeah, I saw.
- 23:15Speaker 3: I've seen so many people that I know in the
- 23:17Speaker 3: media business or the NFL business.
- 23:19Speaker 4: It's great because this table's right here. You can't you're not.
- 23:22Speaker 4: That's why Mike and I told Mike nothing will beat
- 23:25Speaker 4: the MTT Smith.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Interview last year that we did with him. I set in. Yeah,
- 23:29Speaker 3: I thought I could. I could have done two hours
- 23:31Speaker 3: of Emma Smith. She's so pissed off. He was so
- 23:34Speaker 3: pissed and still is Jerry Jones and the Cowboy for
- 23:36Speaker 3: their mismanagement.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Yep, I was laughing.
- 23:38Speaker 4: I'm like, I couldn't believe it what he was saying.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's great.
- 23:42Speaker 4: You know you've been here all the time.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Yeah great, that's before they created Michaeh Parsons. So you
- 23:48Speaker 1: know it's crazy, Oh my god, yeah, I know.
- 23:50Speaker 3: But I usually who was the edge Rusher because I
- 23:55Speaker 3: I didn't have time to look it up. I did
- 23:57Speaker 3: an interview with him for Sportsbord two years ago, two
- 24:01Speaker 3: or three. He played for the Browns and the Eagles
- 24:02Speaker 3: suit intructure. Maybe he was here in like twenty eighteen off.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Hammy eighteen Browns and super nice guy.
- 24:10Speaker 4: I vibe with this guy big time.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Were usually really good on that. And now I'm drawing
- 24:15Speaker 2: about Oh, I know it wasn't Bennett.
- 24:18Speaker 4: It wasn't Michael Bennett.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Oh man, he soigned.
- 24:21Speaker 3: A pretty sizable deal. I I don't know if he
- 24:23Speaker 3: was hurt in his career, but he was super cool.
- 24:26Speaker 3: You guys all remember it. I'm not looking it up.
- 24:29Speaker 2: But you said, by the way you said twenty eighteen,
- 24:32Speaker 2: you think.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Eighteen it was after they won the Super Bowl. Yeah, okay,
- 24:35Speaker 4: I'm reasonably sure of it.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah I can no, no, no, it was Jackson, the
- 24:39Speaker 2: d tackle.
- 24:40Speaker 4: I'm sorry. What was his first name?
- 24:41Speaker 3: Oh?
- 24:42Speaker 2: The guy who was Oh he had so many tattoos?
- 24:43Speaker 2: What was his name?
- 24:45Speaker 4: I loved that?
- 24:46Speaker 1: He uh?
- 24:47Speaker 2: He hot her? Oh man, he.

- 24:52Speaker 2: Yeah, give me one second, oh Man.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Look it up, William. But I love this guy. He
- 24:58Speaker 4: was hilarious. Oh he wants to see both with Denver, didnt.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Yes?
- 25:03Speaker 4: Yes, yes, yes, I made money with Cleveland.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Yeah. And to my yes, it was and I can't
- 25:09Speaker 2: can't think of it.
- 25:10Speaker 4: Uh, you're all gonna.
- 25:11Speaker 3: It's gonna be the comment. He was so funny. And
- 25:19Speaker 3: that's the thing. That's why he answer question with his lung.
- 25:21Speaker 3: That's why I love being here because I meet players
- 25:23Speaker 3: and coaches. Mike Smith's gonna come on our show for
- 25:25Speaker 3: a Falcus head coach.
- 25:26Speaker 4: I love Smitty. He's great.
- 25:28Speaker 2: He was a last year. We talked to him.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Yeah, it's one of the nicest human beings you met
- 25:31Speaker 4: you could ever meet.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Oh, a Q.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Shipley's gonna come on our show. A Q, I don't know.
- 25:36Speaker 4: It's the first time I ever talked. But he knows
- 25:37Speaker 4: you Penn State. Yeah, yeah, oh yeah, we covered comcasts.

- 25:46Speaker 3: you work for? No, this is why you come for
- 25:49Speaker 3: for connecting. Uh, at least Stiberg comes to your legendary
- 25:53Speaker 3: agent you name it. You'll see actors and actresses. I've
- 25:59Speaker 3: met movie stars yeah, you just now, I would say this,
- 26:03Speaker 3: A lot of podcasters, fewer and fewer radio stations come
- 26:06Speaker 3: here now because the business has changed. They can't, they won't,
- 26:08Speaker 3: they can't afford it. It's this is a union place.
- 26:12Speaker 3: You got to pay union fees. Should have people help.
- 26:14Speaker 3: It's it's a lot of money, man.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yeah. They don't even call it radio row anymore. It's
- 26:18Speaker 2: media row because it's more right.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Right now, we did the bench Ben Ben Watson interview
- 26:23Speaker 3: because he said, I said, you know why they do
- 26:24Speaker 3: it called media because you've got college students do podcasting.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Yep, yeah, it's it's it's fine.
- 26:30Speaker 2: It's all good, you know, yeah, no more than all right,
