- 1:28Stream Paper Write now, and help close the gap.
- 1:33Well, that's about pages in girls.
- 1:35What is the role of therapy? I'm going to go through all of
- 1:38that right now. Let's get stuck in guys.
- 1:40Welcome back to the ASP world. My name is Dan and I have autism
- 1:43and ADHD and I'll be quickly videos all about this stuff.

- 2:01for assisting individuals. I want you to be there.
- 2:03I'm outside helping me bring this to fruition.
- 2:05It's going to be amazing. You guys are awesome.
- 2:08Let's get us stuck in right now, guys.
- 2:10Aspergism, girls. Aspergism is a term that we
- 2:12don't really use anymore. We use kind of like lower
- 2:15support needs, autism spectrum disorder.
- 2:17It's a bit of a long winded way of saying it, but the reasons
- 2:19for this, however, we're here to talk about the role of therapy
- 2:22in helping autism, right? So The thing is, you can't cure
- 2:26autism. Autism is a incurable
- 2:28neurological developmental condition, but you can treat
- 2:30symptomatic issues of autism, right?
- 2:33So one of the things I would say is therapy is the best way to do
- 2:36this. I do take medication and I have
- 2:38therapy now. I've had all kinds of therapy
- 2:40from in person counselling to digital counselling over my
- 2:44using my iPhone with an app called Betterhelp, which FYI
- 2:47guys, I actually recommend. So if you are interested in
- 2:50checking out using an app to you know, as as your therapist, you
- 2:53can talk on video or or voice call, or you can just text them.
- 2:57Better help is amazing because within 24 to 48 hours, they
- 3:00hooked me up with a specialist in autism and ADHD because you
- 3:02put in your credentials. It's actually amazing.
- 3:05And I did it from the comfort of my own home.
- 3:06I was actually sat in bed at one point.
- 3:07So it's amazing. I definitely recommend it.
- 3:09So check them out below. However, I've done all types of
- 3:11stuff from occupational therapy all down to like intensive kind
- 3:14of like counselling. What I would say is that therapy
- 3:17is the quickest way for self realization and self
- 3:20knowingness. And when you have a therapist
- 3:22that works on things that are specific to you as a person,
- 3:26nothing compares to it. You can take a medication which
- 3:29will take off some kind of issues and maybe take the edge
- 3:32off certain things like anxiety and depression and stuff like
- 3:34that. But when you say I have a
- 3:36problem in this area of my life, I, I need specific help in this
- 3:40one area and a therapist says, hey, I can help you in that one
- 3:44area. You win every time.
- 3:45It's kind of like the golden ticket to realizing that one
- 3:48thing. So I actually work one-on-one
- 3:50with a lot of clients. I do coaching, so I coach
- 3:52people, you know, So say you wanted to reach out to me now
- 3:55and know more about certain things.
- 3:57You'd e-mail me and say, Dan, I want to do coaching and I'd send
- 3:59you my coaching link and you book in and I work on a specific
- 4:02thing. Say you said to me, oh, I'm
- 4:04having a difficult time in the relationship with my partner, my
- 4:07spouse, and we work on those issues.
- 4:09So therapy actually has a very important role and actually has
- 4:12one of the most important roles. Yeah.
- 4:14I think it's the least thought about thing when people think
- 4:16about autism because when you go online and you look for stuff
- 4:19and you read about things, reading and looking is one
- 4:21thing. But when you're actively getting
- 4:23tactile feedback, when you're sitting with somebody, when
- 4:25you're, when you're trying stuff, when you're when you're
- 4:27getting told to do protocol and practices and you follow them
- 4:29through, you actually win every time you do that because
- 4:32practice makes progress and you win every time.
- 4:35Now, guys, I have a free autism wife have PDF book at
- 4:38autismhacks.net that you can get right now.
