- 4:56old codger and have to get in bed before the sun goes down.
- 5:00But here we are broadcasting live for probably the last time
- 5:07for at least a very long time. More to come on that.
- 5:11There will be kind of an announcement that I make on
- 5:14YouTube on November 1st. So if you're watching this and
- 5:20you catch this at some point, just stay tuned for that
- 5:23announcement. It'll be dropping at noon
- 5:25Central time on Saturday, November 1st.
- 5:29But we are streaming live right now, ready to take your
- 5:31questions, comments, thoughts, feedback on whatever.
- 5:36And with me today is going to be my good brother and friend of a
- 5:41very long time Now, Patrick Walsh here.
- 5:44What's up, brother? Man, good to see you.
- 5:46Likewise very happy to be here. Yeah, man, I'm happy to have
- 5:51you. We have.
- 5:53We got Christopher Miller here checking in, says I hope you're
- 5:57doing well. I am doing well, man.
- 5:58It's good to see you. I had a question for you, Chris.
- 6:02Did you ever make it to Shadowmoot this year?
- 6:03And if so, what did you think? I know you had talked about
- 6:06making your way down from Champaign, IL to attend
- 6:12Shadowmoot this year. And I know we you had like
- 6:15reached out to me and hoped that I was going to be there.
- 6:17And I had prior obligations and I couldn't attend this year, but
- 6:22hoping that next year will be different and I'll be able to be
- 6:25there next year. So yeah, if you got the chance
- 6:27to go, just be curious to hear about what you thought.
- 6:31But we are streaming live here here on Facebook and YouTube.
- 6:35So wherever it is that you're watching from, drop a comment
- 6:37down below and say hello. So Patrick, how you been, man?
- 6:40What's going on with you on on your side of the river?
- 6:45It's. A mixed bag if you will, but
- 6:48overall pretty good. Just very happy to be here.
- 6:52Part of this podcast, if you will, and being a true avid
- 6:58lover of your channel, your brother and your friendship, you
- 7:01know, I'm just very honored and privileged to be part of this
- 7:04special occasion. And other than that, though, you
- 7:07know, just, you know, me. I've been hiking, painting,
- 7:10spending time with my cats at my local shelter.
- 7:13Just yeah. How about?
- 7:15You. Yeah, You've been hitting the
- 7:16trails hard and heavy. Oh yeah, I'm actually 3 miles
- 7:21away from reaching 400 miles hike this year. 400 miles from
- 7:27like when you like. When did you start documenting
- 7:30that? Officially, I started in
- 7:34February of this year. Oh, wow.
- 7:37Unofficially, I might have already reached 400 by now, but
- 7:41I downloaded All Trails app, a very helpful app for anyone
- 7:44interested in hiking. By the way, there's a free
- 7:46version I use every anytime I go hiking.
- 7:48So yeah, don't be, you know, turned away by downloading an
- 7:52app that requires anything other than your participation.
- 7:56Oh, yeah, yeah, that's a whole thing, man.
- 7:59Like the you get, you get this, you get, you get the like the
- 8:01fun advertisements about what you can do with this application
- 8:06or this service or whatever. And then you get it.
- 8:08And then it's like, oh, by the way, if you really want to do
- 8:11all these things, you got to shell over that, that coin, you
- 8:15know, you got to lay down in clams.
- 8:17You're exactly. Right.
- 8:20I got my clans spent already, so yeah.
- 8:24Yeah, don't we all? But how are you, brother?
- 8:27Man, I, I just, I just am really truthfully, how I am is I varies
- 8:34from day-to-day, but I think overall I am good.
- 8:38I'm in a, I'm in a good peaceful place in my life.
- 8:44Peace doesn't always mean comfort.
- 8:46I think that's a good way to say, you know, I'm not always,
- 8:48I'm not always comfortable. You know what I mean?
- 8:51Like I'm not always, if it were up to me personally as an
- 8:56individual, I'm like my choice on like, oh, if you could have
- 8:59your life a certain way, I'd probably make certain choices
- 9:02out of a selection to make it a certain way.
- 9:05But but being that I don't have that option, none of us do to to
- 9:10to quite that extent. I am, I am at peace and I'm good
- 9:16and I am. Yeah, that's that.
- 9:19I think that pretty well sums it up.
- 9:20You know what I mean? I'd like to share that Sensepen
- 9:23as well, brother. I really do.
- 9:24I'm at peace as well. After everything I've shared
- 9:27personally and on a group level, you know, I'm at peace.
- 9:31I'm very happy to be so. That's good man.
- 9:35You're we got 00 with an X Odinson just checking in from
- 9:42Facebook. Usually when the comments come
- 9:44in like that was just a name. A lot of times it means like, I
- 9:47don't know, maybe maybe you sent some stars or something 0.
- 9:51So if you did, thank you, but thank you for watching
- 9:54nonetheless. Appreciate the support here.
- 9:58Chris Miller is saying didn't end up going to shadow mood.
- 10:02I would have to miss a big event for a member of his kindred
- 10:04decided it was you were here needed.
- 10:07Sorry there in Illinois, and you know that's a lot of what people
- 10:10are facing nowadays, Chris and everybody.
- 10:12You know, we have to have to know where to balance our selves
- 10:19at, you know what I mean? And if your obligations and your
- 10:23with, you know, with where you are, that's where it called for
- 10:26you to be totally understandable respect for that.
- 10:30And so thank you for that comment.
- 10:33And yeah, we also hello my neighbor.
- 10:36Upper Missouri. Yeah, Chris, Chris has been on
- 10:40the podcast before and he's got the Vegarsletta, I think is the
- 10:47name of his kindred up there in, in in mid central, like central
- 10:53Illinois, I think maybe South Central Illinois.
- 10:55Don't don't, don't quote me on that as far as location goes,
- 10:59but Champaign, IL I think is where their home base is.
- 11:03So yeah, definitely next year, Chris, and thank you 0 for the
- 11:06contribution, for the kindness, you know, sending a star or
- 11:09whatever of support. That's much appreciated.
- 11:11It's very kind of you, but just watching and being here is is
- 11:15plenty, you know? So yeah, guys, we've got Patrick
- 11:18Walsh here. He is in, you're in like the is
- 11:21it Saint Louis area or you're not too?
- 11:24Far. Yeah.
- 11:25I'm about 30 miles from original Saint Louis.
- 11:28Like the actual city? If you will.
- 11:30Yeah, yeah, yeah. On the good side of Saint Louis.
- 11:34Yes, yes, exactly right. Yeah, you can say that.
- 11:37There you go. Yeah.
- 11:39It's all relevant. Right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's
- 11:42all it look, it's looking good from.
- 11:44It's looking good from what's the name of your city anyway?
- 11:47What's it called? Saint Peter's.
- 11:49Saint Peter's, Yeah. Oh, so you got a lot of it's
- 11:51like a Catholic state. Oh yes.
- 11:55Raised Catholic, you know, taking some denial, if you will.
- 11:59Yeah, yeah. I don't know much about, you
- 12:02know, Saint Peter. He, he, he's got a big, he's got
- 12:04a big reputation in the, in the Catholic faith.
- 12:07But I don't know who Saint Louis is and what his what his claim
- 12:10to fame is. I used to know it back in like
- 12:14grade school, but it's been so long.
- 12:17So. Yeah, yeah.
- 12:19Couldn't tell you. Yeah.
- 12:20They they, they did something enough to be canonized, so
- 12:23there's that. Obviously, yeah.
- 12:25Zero is in northeast Tennessee, so not far from my neck of the
- 12:29woods, just a bit about probably, you know, 4 to 5, four
- 12:33to four or so hours north and east of me.
- 12:38And it's looking good from Saint Peter's, from you, man.
- 12:40It's looking good for Middle Tennessee for me is what a buddy
- 12:43of mine used to say, you know, or still says whenever things
- 12:47are going rough for people or whenever things are happening.
- 12:50He says he, he, he lives in Gallatin, TN.
- 12:54And he says it's looking good from Gallatin.
- 12:56So it's about perspective, right?
- 12:58It's about where we are. And it's that, you know, you got
- 13:00to find the best of situations wherever you are.
- 13:05Yeah. There we go.
- 13:06OK. So thank you, Chris.
- 13:08He says, got it in one. Vulgarsletta, the rolling
- 13:13Prairie. That's what it is.
- 13:15Vulgarsletta is the Old Norse name for the rolling Prairie
- 13:18kindred, and they're spread across central Illinois, based
- 13:21in Champaign, but our central vey is in Chatham.
- 13:25I hope I said that right. If I didn't, you can you feel
- 13:29free to publicly bash me for that.
- 13:31If it's Chatham, but it's Chatham.
- 13:34I could be wrong. I've said, I said, I remember
- 13:37driving up through Virginia and I hit Withville and I was on it.
- 13:42I, I put it on a video and I said I'm in Wytheville, VA and I
- 13:44got, I got slaughtered in the comments.
- 13:46Oh, you know where you're not from?
- 13:50Oh, yeah. You're just outside the state
- 13:51Capitol there in Springfield. Very cool there, Chris.
- 13:55And we've got Voodoo Viking. What's up, John, I already know
- 13:58who you are on break at work. Have a good night.
- 14:01He's down there in the bayous. Maybe not the bayous, but
- 14:05Louisiana. We got all we got people from
- 14:09all sorts of of of locations checking in.
- 14:12Pronounced Chatham. OK, there it is.
- 14:15So it ain't Chatham. I I bombed that 1.
- 14:19So it's a Chatham. Not not to be confused with
- 14:24Chatham. Not not What was it?
- 14:27No, I'm thinking Channing Tatum. Why did I do that?
- 14:30I don't know, Patrick. Why did I do that?
- 14:34What's going on? Here.
- 14:35Don't ask me, man. Come on, man.
- 14:38You're supposed to you. You got it figured out over
- 14:40here. You know, I thought you I
- 14:41thought you were hosting this episode.
- 14:42This. This.
- 14:43Week, I thought, oh, wait a second.
- 14:45Yeah. But yeah, man, Patrick is here.
- 14:50We, we talked probably like a month or two ago about you
- 14:54coming onto the show to talk about, well, music, the, the
- 15:02power of music, you know, what it does for us with connection
- 15:08and healing and all kinds of things.
- 15:12Really. I mean, it's, it's, it's such a,
- 15:14it's such a beautiful thing to when it comes to music, you know
- 15:18what I mean? Like it's the universal, I say
- 15:19the universal language, right? We don't have to understand the
- 15:22language that's spoken in a song to feel connected to that song
- 15:29because of the rhythm and because of the melodies and
- 15:31stuff. So that's what we're going to
- 15:32kind of lean into as far as a topic, I think this week.
- 15:35Right. That's correct.
- 15:37Yeah. So was there like a was there,
- 15:39you know, what was the impetus behind your desire to want to
- 15:43speak about music and its capacity to, you know, help us
- 15:48with connection and healing and all of the various things, Like
- 15:52what was what was behind your thought?
- 15:53But to want to talk about this? Music is again.
- 15:58You had one. Yeah, absolutely I do.
- 16:00I do. Without a doubt.
- 16:01Music is very beautiful in the way of no matter our way of life
- 16:10and how we choose to live our lives and pursue our passions
- 16:14and understand our struggles, music's always been there for
- 16:18all of us from start to finish. And again, me new specifically
- 16:25here, music has really shaped the way a lot of the way that we
- 16:30do things. We have artists that we follow
- 16:33me specifically with high long and a few other bands too.
- 16:36You know, it's just there's music and then there's music,
- 16:42and I really love that. You touched on something I was
- 16:44going to touch on later on, but here we go is one of the main
- 16:48reasons I love music is we don't really have to even understand
- 16:52the lyrics, but just hearing and feeling the message, it just
- 16:58hits on so many levels. And going back to my original
- 17:01point there is this music is without prejudice, without
- 17:04judgment. It's part of our journey and who
- 17:07we are today. So that's my answer.
- 17:38I can hear you for some reason. Sorry about that.
- 17:42Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now?
- 17:45Yeah, you're fine. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:46That was that was my fault. I think I had muted myself.
- 17:48So let me let me start over with what following up after what you
- 17:53said, that's my fault. My bad.
- 17:54I think I had accidentally hit the mute button to let you speak
- 17:57without interrupting. You're fine, yeah.
- 18:00But yeah, we, we, we go through our lives, we discover so many
- 18:05different styles of music. One of the things that you and I
- 18:08recently spoke about was you asked me about like classical
- 18:11music and if, if I appreciate or if I like certain classical
- 18:15music, right. And that was a good, that was a
- 18:20fun conversation because I do, I appreciate those.
- 18:22Hold on, I lost you for a second.
- 18:24I put my earbuds in. OK, go ahead.
- 18:26I'm going to catch up on a comment here.
- 18:29Sorry everybody, I'm trying to get my outlaw situation figured
- 18:32out here. Jesse, try again here.
- 18:34I can't. Hear you.
- 18:35Yeah, Yeah. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go.
- 18:36Test, test, test. La La La La La La.
- 18:40I can't hear you. I can hear you just fine.
- 18:48You can hear me. Yes.
- 18:51Well, I can't hear you, so Yep. Maybe try something else, I
- 18:56don't know give. Me a second.
- 18:57I'm going to try to figure some things out really quick here.
- 19:00Yep, go ahead. So Dina.
- 19:02Hello, Dina. Music is about prejudice or
- 19:05judgment. Yeah, is a beautiful.
- 19:08Time and you know. Yep.
- 19:11Yeah, so this is kind of one of those things with the live, you
- 19:14know, when we have guests, we we just work through the technical
- 19:17aspects of things, whether it's auditory or visual or what have
- 19:23you. I'm not an ASL person.
- 19:26I don't do ASL. Maybe I should because this
- 19:28would probably be really beneficial if I could be like,
- 19:31hey, whatever, blah, blah, blah. Can you hear me now?
- 19:38Can't hear me. No, no, no.
- 19:41Nothing. We were doing good there for a
- 19:42minute. We were doing good there,
- 19:45Patrick. We were doing good.
- 19:48We were skating along just fine. Why my phone right now?
- 19:53I can't hear you. I can hear you, but you can't
- 19:56hear me. Hello.
- 19:59Hello. Hello.
- 19:59Hello. Hello.
- 20:01Hello. Hello.
- 20:05Hearing aids. Gotta love them.
- 20:08We'll get it working, folks. Just bear with us.
- 20:12Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now?
- 20:16Can you hear me now? Test.
- 20:20Test. Test.
- 20:24Test. Test.
- 20:25Test. Hello.
- 20:28Hello. Hello.
- 20:32Hello. Hello.
- 20:32Hello. Oh, there we go, 5.
- 20:35Hey, you see, that's all it. That's all it takes.
- 20:37It just takes some traveling. It just takes some traveling.
- 20:40Watching thank you for sitting with us.
- 20:43Technology is my not my best friend for pushing a brand over
- 20:48here in Jurassic Park over here, you know, we just don't get
- 20:50along. You know, just I touched it.
- 20:56I touched it. So anyways.
- 20:57We're back on. All right, man.
- 20:58Yes, All right. We we're good now.
- 21:01We're good. But yeah.
- 21:04So anyway, classical music, you remember that conversation we
- 21:08had? Oh yes, I do.
- 21:09Absolutely where it was like, you know, we yeah, hey, do you
- 21:12like classical music? And then I'm like, hey, I'll
- 21:14tell you something even more than that.
- 21:15Like every now and then I like opera.
- 21:19Don't know the first thing that they're saying, but the like
- 21:23the, the, the, the energy, the, the, the, the theater of opera.
- 21:28And and then you go same kind of thing goes with classical music.
- 21:31You know, there's no, obviously there's no words to a lot of the
- 21:34compositions of the of, you know, classical music.
- 21:37It's it's all melody, but but you're following like a, a, an
- 21:40emotional story in a way. I feel.
- 21:43Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 21:46So, yeah, you know, it's it's not always about like, I don't
- 21:49know if you saw it before. I'll just put up here real
- 21:51quick. Dina, who I just recently
- 21:53interviewed said that like, to what your point was, Patrick?
- 21:55You know, music is without prejudice or judgement.
- 21:58You know, a very beautiful statement.
- 22:01And Dina's great. Yeah.
- 22:03No worries at all. Yeah, she's a great.
- 22:05She's a great guest to have on the show, too.
- 22:07Wonderful, wonderful insight to things.
- 22:11Real quick, we'll just acknowledge here we have Mary
- 22:13Myers, who is talking about high loan.
- 22:18So, Patrick, do you know Mary or do you know of Mary Sounds?
- 22:20Like, yeah, she's part of my group.
- 22:21She's a really invaluable member.
- 22:24She's really sweet. Thanks for joining, Mary.
- 22:26Yeah, thank you for being here, Mary.
- 22:28And you must have been catching this from the group because we
- 22:31shared the the link to that from here.
- 22:33So she says that to your point, High Lung taps lyrics from
- 22:37ancient sources that may or may not resonate, but the way they
- 22:41present it, the way Maria sings it makes a battle song sound
- 22:46like a love song. Those lyrics in a language I
- 22:49don't understand leaves a lot to my imagination.
- 22:53And I have a rich imagination. Wow.
- 22:57Thank you for sharing that. That's just very beautiful.
- 23:01That is beautiful. Yeah.
- 23:03And that's such a great way to to look at music, you know what
- 23:05I mean? Like what what one person's
- 23:07battle song could be, you know, something that they take with
- 23:10them to fight or to face conflict, you know, for that
- 23:18person might be to another person, the the melody of their
- 23:24love and their softness and their comfort.
- 23:26You know what I mean? Like it's amazing how how music
- 23:28touches us. So like Patrick, do you have
- 23:30like a, you have like anything that you would like to add to
- 23:33that with regards to certain songs that maybe seem like they
- 23:37should be a battle cry, but they turn out for you to be more like
- 23:41a, you know, a love ballad or something that touches your
- 23:45heart in a different way? I can't name any songs
- 23:50specifically from this artist, but it's OPA about the song
- 23:55sound very you know what I'm talking about, but they're very
- 23:58heavy and it sounds aggressive is all get out.
- 24:02But more often than not, it's, you know, not necessarily love,
- 24:07but heartbreak or of that nature.
- 24:10But again, you know, sounds very heavy, very, you know, thrashy,
- 24:13very angry, but also at the same time very compassionate, very
- 24:17soothing. Yeah, yeah.
- 24:19I think Opeth is like one of those examples of, you know,
- 24:25the, the, the spectrum that, that that heavy music can take
- 24:28because it is, it's very melodic.
- 24:30It's very almost like a lullaby in some aspects.
- 24:33I mean, Blackwater Park, Blackwater Park is like, it's
- 24:36all over the place. You get those real like heavy,
- 24:38you know, just you. Know what I mean?
- 24:41And then you get, you get, you get Mikhail's voice where he's
- 24:45just like singing you to sleep. Another band that does that for
- 24:48me similarly like what you're talking about.
- 24:50Opeth is My Dying Bride. I don't know if you're familiar
- 24:54with My Dying Bride, no. Not at all.
- 24:57Yeah, Aaron, Aaron Stainthorpe I think was his name.
- 25:01He recently parted ways with the band after 30 some odd years.
- 25:07But I remember being on the road, working on the road and
- 25:12having to catch sleep when and where I could in a sleeper bunk,
- 25:16you know what I mean? I was on the road and I didn't
- 25:17have a bed to sleep and I had a had a sleeping bunk in a van
- 25:22full of inmates. And, you know, one of the things
- 25:24that helped put me to sleep was I put my earbuds in and I play
- 25:27My Dying Bride. It's it's, it's I guess the, the
- 25:32genre of music would be classified as like funeral doom.
- 25:36So it's very melancholy. It's got a very slow tempo.
- 25:40Some people might say that it's very depressing, but to me it
- 25:45was soothing because he had a very, like his voice was very,
- 25:52it was soothing in a very dark way, you know?
- 25:55What I mean and that actually so touched on another artist we're
- 25:59going to mention here in the near future, but type of
- 26:02negative for example, I mean. Oh my gosh.
- 26:06I know I was going to stay at that for later, but just by the
- 26:09way, with that said, rest in peace, Peter.
- 26:15Any. Fans watching this podcast
- 26:18again, if you know, type of negative, you know what I mean,
- 26:22Drop some kind of emoji, like a heart's emoji or something, you
- 26:26know, Pierce silly, we love you. And you know, type of negative
- 26:29is very Moody, very broody, you know, it's just very heavy
- 26:32atmosphere too, and just with no filter, you know.
- 26:38For sure, for sure. We'll get to that in a second.
- 26:42Let me get voices from the gross is good evening.
- 26:44May the gods and ancestors be with you all.
- 26:46Thank you. Voices from the Grove watching
- 26:49from YouTube. But yeah, man, Peter Steele's
- 26:52voice is kind of one of those. I can't replicate that, you know
- 26:57what I mean? Like I I found a few bands that
- 27:00have like done tributes to Peter and to typo, but it's it's like,
- 27:07I don't I don't want to hear another Peter.
- 27:09Like I want to hear your take on those songs.
- 27:11I want to hear your version because Peter's voice is like,
- 27:13it's, you know, it's, it's timeless.
- 27:15It's it's. Iconic, just saying.
- 27:20I couldn't agree more though. Like I really love respect.
- 27:22We just said though too because like a lot of like, forgive me
- 27:26for getting off topic briefly here, but like.
- 27:29Now let's go. Movies that we'd love and
- 27:30appreciate. We just need the original movie.
- 27:33We don't need a sequel. We don't need anything
- 27:36continuing further from that. It's just beautiful as it is.
- 27:39And Peter though, like, it's funny too, because one of my
- 27:43best friends, Jamie, was actually part of a cover band
- 27:46for Taco Negative. I've heard their music and I
- 27:48love it. I love the appreciation and
- 27:51dedication they'd make from his work.
- 27:55Now when I listen to it every day, like Taco Negative, no.
- 27:59But I appreciate the gesture and again, the dedication to honor
- 28:04something so special, you know? Definitely what what did what
- 28:09was Jamie's part in that cover band or tribute band that was
- 28:13worth an instrument singing? I I know it's either one or two
- 28:17things, piano or guitar. Oh, OK.
- 28:22Probably piano 'cause she's an excellent pianist.
- 28:25Like, don't get me started on that.
- 28:27She's very more musically inclined than I am.
- 28:31I will say that on the off chance you've watched this or
- 28:33I'll share it there afterwards, but I.
- 28:36Yeah, well, I mean, you know, you're, it's your, you know,
- 28:39she's your friend from how long, You know what I mean?
- 28:41Like like. 20 years, What else? Well, yeah.
- 28:45Yeah, yeah. And I'm like, I'm, I'm putting
- 28:47you on the spot. Like, what did she do You.
- 28:49Yeah. No, I just was, she shared that
- 28:52side group or group that she was, you know, partaking of.
- 28:57It was a long time ago. That's like easily over 10 years
- 29:00ago. So sure, sure, sure.
- 29:02Naturally, can't, you know, provide their exact answer just
- 29:06yet? But I'll ask her though.
- 29:09No, you're fine. You're fine.
- 29:10Yeah, that's cool. That's cool, man.
- 29:11My mom was a she, she studied piano too.
- 29:14She she had a my, my sister still to has the piano that my
- 29:19mom played. And I can remember there, there
- 29:21are two songs we talked about. We talked briefly before about
- 29:24classical music, right, and how it speaks to us.
- 29:28My mom was a classical pianist, so she didn't play like modern
- 29:35music, she learned. Songs.
- 29:39She learned music and she learned to read music by and and
- 29:42the music that she played were were classics or classical
- 29:46music. So I remember 2 songs that still
- 29:53to this day when I hear them make me think of her.
- 29:56It's Moonlight Sonata, my Beethoven.
- 30:02I think it's a Beethoven, yes. Try Beethoven.
- 30:05Without it and and also few release Beethoven's few release.
- 30:15But that man, that Moonlight Sonata Talk about, haunting talk
- 30:19about. Iconic as well.
- 30:21I mean, it's it's it's one of those pieces that just stands
- 30:24the test of time and it makes me think of her.
- 30:28And that's that's one of those things about, you know, what
- 30:31music draws up in us when we hear a song, it's not so much
- 30:34like what we felt in the moment. It's where we were, who we were
- 30:36with when we heard it. It puts us back into a place in
- 30:42time, like we're we're transported in a way.
- 30:48And I just want to catch. Yeah, go ahead.
- 30:49I was going. To say also how it could be
- 30:52applied too, because no matter how beautiful and heavy a lot of
- 30:56the classical songs and works are done, they can be applied in
- 31:02a very funny situations. You know, like very tragic.
- 31:05Oh no, I dip my Oreo the cup and the the Oreo just suck into the
- 31:10milk. You know, it's just like, Oh no,
- 31:15But you know, it could be applied in very different ways.
- 31:17And yeah, the song is still there, but it's, you know, it's
- 31:20really cool how you can do something like that.
- 31:21But anyways, sorry to continue further.
- 31:23No, that's great. See, I'm gonna come back to that
- 31:28in a minute. Mary also posted here.
- 31:30She says that Norupo, obviously this is a a high Lung song,
- 31:34which is the it's so it's for those of you that don't know,
- 31:37Norupo is high Lung's rune poem. They're they're singing the
- 31:42Norwegian rune poem. So Notarpot is an example.
- 31:46Continue to try and learn the length the lyrics in Norwegian,
- 31:49but in the meantime, I wrote my own lyrics to the tune Mary did
- 31:53that call the quarters and honor the direction and elements and I
- 31:57take out the antlers and reach for the sky.
- 32:04You know what, I think that Maria or, or or or Kai or Chris
- 32:12or any of the guy folks from, from Highland that would hear
- 32:14that Jacob, Maria, any of them, you know, I feel like that would
- 32:19really touch their hearts to see you connecting with the song in
- 32:23a way that speaks to you. Absolutely, without doubt,
- 32:26without doubt, Mary. And again, that's why she's part
- 32:28of my group and I'm sure other groups too.
- 32:31But again, going back to Mary, she's very important,
- 32:35fundamental. Again, thanks for joining the
- 32:37podcast. Sorry this morning, a good
- 32:39little shout out, if you will, but that's very beautiful.
- 32:42Thank you for sharing that. Thank you.
- 32:47Real quick on a couple other comments that are coming through
- 32:50here. So Voices from the Grove, just
- 32:52wanted to stop in before heading off to bed.
- 32:54Jesse and Patrick, take care of yourselves.
- 32:56Your two awesome people that I truly admire.
- 32:59Well, thank you so much. That's a beautiful
- 33:01acknowledgement and we appreciate you.
- 33:03Thank you We. Appreciate you for being here.
- 33:05Thank you. Thanks for stopping by and
- 33:07again, like I say, I'm opposed. You know, have a great night and
- 33:10better tomorrow. For sure.
- 33:13And there's our brother, Mr. Jon Deeson.
- 33:15Mr. Do the damn work, Deeson. Music will find you where you
- 33:21are is what he is. What Jon says.
- 33:24Music will find you where you are.
- 33:25Even even if OK, even if where you are is hold on, let me, let
- 33:33me, let me. I want to get this.
- 33:35John says that music will find you where you are.
- 33:37Even if where you are is at the the crusty end of a soggy Oreo
- 33:43who sunk into your cup of milk. Oreos, we're not going to go
- 33:49here, but you know what? I.
- 33:50Mean you've brought it up. You said that I have this.
- 33:54It's so cautious. I guess everyone was going to be
- 33:59so confused besides John. It's like, what is he talking
- 34:02about? Oreos?
- 34:03What? Why is this so funny?
- 34:05Like it had to be there kind of thing.
- 34:07Yeah, you'd have to be there. Yeah, you'd have to be there.
- 34:09You'd have to be like he said, like you'd have to be, you know,
- 34:15you'd have to, you have to be found where you were in that.
- 34:18And. And that's just where we were at
- 34:20the time. Because, man, dude, I think
- 34:22about that and I'm like, what's your song of, of, of an Oreo
- 34:25sunk in a cup of milk? Like what's?
- 34:27What does that soundtrack look like?
- 34:29DS DS Eddie. If I pronounce that correctly,
- 34:33the Day of Wrath or Day of Judgment, the I I Can't Sing to
- 34:39save my life, but I could play a song in the background.
- 34:43But DS Eddie. DE by who?
- 34:51I'm not going to. Play the sound here if I'll look
- 34:54it up really quick on YouTube since I have my PS4 up.
- 34:58John knows the business. John, John's on point man.
- 35:01John's standing on business. He he just commented HBO, he
- 35:04knows. He knows the business.
- 35:05Yeah, I know he does. I know he does, David.
- 35:09All right, so I'm going to spell the name of the song D i.e.
- 35:14S Space IRAE. OK, that could be Ray, could be
- 35:23Rye, depending on who you know, hold.
- 35:26On one second, forgive me. Yeah, while you're doing that, I
- 35:29was going to acknowledge we got a comment from Jay Roth,
- 35:32Chicago, I hope. That rings a bell.
- 35:49It's either it's either Verdi or Mozart, Christopher Miller says.
- 35:55Mozart. That's correct.
- 35:56Yes, That's Mozart. Mozart.
- 35:58Thank you for. Thank you.
- 35:59Yeah, I played it briefly, but yeah, it's.
- 36:03I'm trying to remember the name. It's Day of Wrath or Day of
- 36:07Judgment, one of the two. I know that much.
- 36:09Yeah. Probably Ray.
- 36:10Ray is probably judgment right or?
- 36:12Judgment. Yeah, that sounds about right,
- 36:13yeah. But thank you, Jah.
- 36:16Let's see. We got who's this Jay Roth
- 36:21Chicago Jr. of Chicago. We'll see.
- 36:24We'll do that way. Jr. of Chicago says respect and
- 36:27honor to you both. Thank you Jr.
- 36:29Thank you jar. We got another brother from
- 36:33another mother checking in. Adam Cage, the standing moose is
- 36:38in the house. What's up, man?
- 36:41Let's go rocking and rolling. Yeah?
- 36:46Mozart, John, John. John knows too.
- 36:48See. Yeah, no surprise.
- 36:50See all these heathens, the people out here that talk about
- 36:52heathens being uncultured and this and that.
- 36:55Listen, we got people in here that really know a thing or two.
- 36:58Please. Chris is like, Yep, that's the
- 37:00Mozart one. I do on a good day, but clearly
- 37:04not today. But again, the fact that you
- 37:07guys recognize that again, like just just said, we're cultured.
- 37:12Come on, you know we don't. Know sometimes our shirts are
- 37:15collared, you know what I mean? We have we, you know, we, we, we
- 37:20clean up nice you know what I mean?
- 37:21We clean up nice. We do, we do, we do all right.
- 37:26Yeah, dude, you talked about, you talked about a few musical
- 37:28projects. You talked about, of course, you
- 37:31know Highlong, you talked about Opeth, you talked about Typo.
- 37:39What's another? What's another like really
- 37:41influential band or or or musical project that you know of
- 37:46any sort that that really hits you in a certain way and in in
- 37:50what way does it hit you? I'm really happy that you
- 37:53brought me to this point because I'm happy you 2 pulled up my
- 37:56screen here. But Gozira?
- 38:00Yeah. I mean, what?
- 38:04Here's what I love most about the band or one of the One of
- 38:08the one of the things I love most about them is a lot of
- 38:12people hear them. It sounds heavy, it sounds
- 38:15aggressive, it sounds evil. But no.
- 38:19So one of my best friends introduced me to this band.
- 38:22And fun fact too, when I first heard them, I wasn't crazy about
- 38:25it. I'm like, yeah, whatever.
- 38:27Yeah, I know. Believe it or not.
- 38:29But after a while, one day, I looked up their lyrics to one of
- 38:35their songs. I'm like.
- 38:39Do you do you remember what song it was that you first heard that
- 38:42you weren't too impressed with? Yes, and it's strangely enough
- 38:46one of the songs I love most, and I'm not going to play it
- 38:48live here with respect, but yeah, it was Gojira.
- 38:53Flying Whales. That's what I was about to say.
- 38:55It was probably flying whales because that's like one of
- 38:57those. They're like, it's almost like
- 38:58Metallica's back in or the black the black Album, like anything
- 39:04on the black out like most people that get maybe not most,
- 39:09but a lot of people that get introduced to Metallica, you
- 39:11know, it's like Enter Sandman or whatever, you know what I mean?
- 39:14So it's like Gojira's Enter Sandman is is flying will.
- 39:17It's like a one hit wonder if you will, but it's not one hit.
- 39:19It's like several hits. Yeah.
- 39:22But yeah, going back to Gojira though is again like this year
- 39:27and last year especially. Like I got to see them actually
- 39:32I got to see them live 2 times. First time without knowing I was
- 39:36going to not best with my best friend Jamie.
- 39:39And during that show I got to see, I got to see Behemoth live
- 39:44my first time. That was a bookmark and a bucket
- 39:47list for the longest time. I don't know if I ever told you
- 39:50that, but I got to see Behemoth play.
- 39:51I was beside myself like oh hell yes.
- 39:55And it's very that without provocation, without any
- 39:58mentioning it was very much. Evil again loosely said, but it
- 40:03is satanic. It is what an.
- 40:05Yeah, yeah. I mean, come on, They're not
- 40:07trying to pretend to be anything else.
- 40:09Like, rotting, rotting. See the rest of the band.
- 40:13I don't want to get flagged here, but you know what I mean.
- 40:15The rotting, rotting Christ. Yeah, I mean that band.
- 40:20Anyways, I got to stop myself. Like going back to Kojira.
- 40:23So back to that memory. I got to see Behemoth, Kojira,
- 40:30Volbeat. I never will care.
- 40:34For Volbeat, I've seen Volbeat. I got a fun story to talk about
- 40:37Volbeat when time comes later. Yeah, yeah.
- 40:39And then Volbeat and then of course Slipknot I mean.
- 40:47Any. Time I hear Slipknot, I'm going
- 40:49to start thrashing out like the heretic.
- 40:51Anthem, you know what I mean like like like that's that's the
- 40:55soundtrack to our youth baby, you know what I mean?
- 40:57That's. Exactly fucking right.
- 40:59That's exactly what I was going to to like Slipknot goes back to
- 41:03like my middle school and high school days, like my point of
- 41:06origins with music, like really get into the chapter that I am
- 41:10today. And going further from that,
- 41:12like Slipknot again, say what you will, I love their earlier
- 41:16albums through and through. I'm sure many of us do as well.
- 41:19But anyways, I'm getting off the beating path here.
- 41:22Gozira, Let me get back to the point of origins here with that
- 41:26Gozira. Again, there's a lot of songs
- 41:29that they had made, and again, they sound heavy, they sound
- 41:33thrashy. But when you really look up
- 41:35their lyrics, it's simply amazing.
- 41:38Like you have songs like The Cell, you have songs like Mia
- 41:42Koopa. They actually got to play part
- 41:45of the Olympics last year. They opened up they that
- 41:50performance. Oh, thank you.
- 41:52You saw it. Yeah, it just.
- 41:55The fact that. Who hasn't seen it?
- 41:57Like you're not somebody. Person.
- 41:59I'm a lucky person, yeah, very unlucky, but.
- 42:01Just if you haven't seen that performance at the Olympics
- 42:04where they played it in Paris. I'll fuck at like now.
- 42:11There are some shows leading up to it and afterwards, but that
- 42:14part, without doubt, again like music often does, comes to us at
- 42:18a very important time in our lives.
- 42:21Again, more on that later, but just again, that red letter.
- 42:25Just the heck. The fact that not only goes Jira
- 42:28was recognized as such a special occasion, but just that genre of
- 42:33music becoming normal is very, very amazing and badass for a
- 42:39lot of us metal heads like this again.
- 42:42Right. Yeah, like that representation
- 42:44of the kind of extreme side of music.
- 42:47You know what I mean? And that realization too, it's
- 42:49not all bad. They have really great messages.
- 42:53It sounds heavy for, for, for a reason.
- 42:55Because life is fucking heavy. Life is aggressive.
- 42:58Life is, you know, crazy. And it's all hell.
- 43:00But this again. For sure, Adam says that Bob
- 43:05Seger, Bob Seger, I swear if his songs were newer, he would have
- 43:10followed me around. Bob Seger is one of them ones
- 43:12man, that you know, it's a, you know, a lot of it's generational
- 43:15to music. You know, certain songs of
- 43:18certain generations really hit because like, you know, I grew
- 43:24up in the 80s, you know, late 80s, early 90s and my dad was
- 43:28listening to music from his generation, you know, the 60s
- 43:31and the 70s and into the 80s. So I grew up with Seeger and
- 43:36Hendrix and, you know, the 38 Special and and you know. 3
- 43:41doors or the doors? Sorry, the three doors.
- 43:43Yeah, no. What is it called?
- 43:4838 Special and like, you know, Sabbath and and Steve Miller
- 43:53Band, Marshall Tucker, you know what I mean?
- 43:56All that kind of stuff like that was like Americana kind of stuff
- 43:59like it was like American rock'n'roll, you know what I
- 44:01mean? So I'm just catching up on some
- 44:05comments real quick. You're.
- 44:06Fine, I'm actually gonna hop off screen for a couple seconds, if
- 44:09you will, but I'll be back. Yeah, that's cool.
- 44:10I'm gonna catch up here. So we got Zaiptoteca.
- 44:16How goes it? It goes all right, Zaiptoteca,
- 44:19if I'm saying that right over there on YouTube.
- 44:20Thanks for thanks for catching the, the live stream and
- 44:25watching. And then Adam Cage's first
- 44:28concert was Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon 92.
- 44:31Dude, I would have loved to seen Pink Floyd back then.
- 44:35I mean, I really would have under the right, under the right
- 44:39circumstances, 'cause I feel like Pink Floyd is like, it's
- 44:43almost like Tool, you know, like Pink Floyd's an experience.
- 44:45You know what? I.
- 44:47Mean like you gotta you gotta you gotta experience the the
- 44:51live performance and not just so jealous.
- 44:54Watch it. But but yeah, Jon decent says we
- 45:00are a classy bunch. I mean, we are, we're, you know.
- 45:03We. We, we, we, we're, we're OK to
- 45:05get dirty when the time comes. But we're also, we're not just,
- 45:09you know, some ignorant, some bitches out here.
- 45:15We got it going on. I think one of the most, like
- 45:16you were talking earlier about, you know, Behemoth and stuff,
- 45:21like one of the most brutal shows I was that I got to see
- 45:26was what are they called? Not Behemoth.
- 45:33Demu Borgier. Wasn't Demu Borgier?
- 45:37OK, I was going to lose my shit, but yeah.
- 45:40It was it was, it was another black metal fuck.
- 45:44Why can't I remember him? Give me a second.
- 45:45Give me a second. OK, OK.
- 45:47It was a black metal band. Black metal.
- 45:49Band. Wasn't Gorgoroth, wasn't
- 45:54Gorgoroth, It wasn't Cradle Bill.
- 45:57No, no. I had to shooting blind here.
- 46:04I don't. Know.
- 46:07Yeah, I know why it starts with AB Elphagore.
- 46:13Nope. Mark Vickers Rotten.
- 46:17Just no Belphagore Belfigor was the was the band that I saw.
- 46:23Never heard of him. What?
- 46:25Oh boy, catch you later on. Where, Where?
- 46:29My, where my, where my black metal People in the comments.
- 46:31Belfigor. What do you know about that?
- 46:35Yeah, They had the bloody sheep's head out there on the
- 46:37stage, dudes. Mike.
- 46:40Yeah, man. And it was this little dive bar
- 46:44venue in North Carolina where I saw him.
- 46:49Yep, matter of fact. So funny story, right?
- 46:56The, The the venue that I saw Belfagore at was one of the
- 47:01supporting acts that played that show was a band called
- 47:07Bastherian. And he was a man.
- 47:11He was a guy. He was him and his wife were in
- 47:13the band with some other people. One of those people was a mutual
- 47:19friend at the time, a mutual friend of Zeb, who Patrick, you
- 47:24and I both know, of course. And that is kind of how when I
- 47:30saw Bastarian, we invited them out here to Middle Tennessee to
- 47:35play a Halloween show one year. Vanessa and I did.
- 47:40So we hosted them. We, we had them stay here at the
- 47:42house. It was like 5 people, you know,
- 47:45so we had the futon out, we had the spare bedroom and this and
- 47:47that. We had like, you know, 5 band
- 47:49members staying with us because they came out from, from North
- 47:51Carolina to play a one night show.
- 47:56And one of the members we stayed in touch with.
- 47:59And then that person ended up in a project with Zeb at the time.
- 48:03And then we were out and out North Carolina one time, and we
- 48:06interviewed that band project. And that's How I Met Zeb.
- 48:12Really. I knew that.
- 48:14Yeah. And from So.
- 48:15Yeah. So from there, Zeb and I stayed
- 48:18in touch and I introduced him to JM.
- 48:24So that's why they became friends.
- 48:26I'm just my mind being blown, yeah.
- 48:29Yeah, dude, music. Music is what connected us.
- 48:33Music is what kind of started that started that connection.
- 48:41Pantera. Adam says Pantera dude, yes.
- 48:44I mean, listen, I didn't get to see Pantera with Dime and a lot
- 48:47of the diehards are going to say that there is no Pantera without
- 48:51Dime or Vin and I respect that opinion.
- 48:55I I saw Pantera with Phil and Rex.
- 48:59I've seen Rex perform live once before in his own thing.
- 49:03Funny story. Not funny story, but Rex Brown
- 49:07was in a band with Johnny Kelly who played drums in Type O
- 49:10Negative. So I've met Johnny Kelly in
- 49:13person, I've interviewed him, I've talked to him.
- 49:15I met Rex Brown in person one night in in Nashville, but I so,
- 49:20so obviously, you know, Panteras just now it's it's Phil and Rex.
- 49:24They got Zach, they got Charlie on drums and but I get I did get
- 49:32to see that version or that iteration of Pantera a year or
- 49:37two ago. So yeah, Johnny Kelly did you?
- 49:42I I when I interviewed Johnny years ago, he was he was, he had
- 49:47like memories about Pete. He was talking about typo before
- 49:50and it was like some of the funniest shit.
- 49:52Like he was talking about like how Pete would like order
- 49:56Chinese food or, or so they ever forget what the what the story
- 50:00of it was, but it was such a such a a like come dumb thing,
- 50:05But like, what's your favorite memory of Pete?
- 50:06You know, and he's like, man, there's one time, you know, we
- 50:10were all in Brooklyn and we were doing this thing and Pete, you
- 50:12know, he was drunk or he was high or whatever the situation
- 50:15was. And he was like in the middle of
- 50:20the night and ordering Chinese food.
- 50:22And then he got pissed off about what was ordered or something.
- 50:24It was. I could kind of see that too.
- 50:28Yeah, what does this if? You know, you know, and.
- 50:39But yeah, really sorry. Yeah, go ahead.
- 50:42No man, go for it. I'm I've I've been I'm really
- 50:45happy. We're talking about music right
- 50:46now and hearing the story about you mini ZAP and then ZAP mini
- 50:53Josh like this. It all comes full circle and
- 50:57having some of our brothers here part of this chat, you know,
- 51:00it's very, very special. Absolutely.
- 51:04Like Adam says y'all Miss Rowan with Zeb at Nashville Pagan
- 51:08Pride Day. I, you know, I was, I was, I was
- 51:11vending that. So like Zeb, he performed at
- 51:14Nashville Pagan Pride this year. And I remember seeing the videos
- 51:18of like, Adam was out there with a few other folks out there on
- 51:21the lawn rowing, you know, like rowing a boat out.
- 51:28There I saw pictures of that. That's pretty badass.
- 51:30I saw it. Yeah, yeah, Yeah, I did.
- 51:31Yeah. Yeah.
- 51:33And yeah, it is just, he's just such good people, man.
- 51:37Like, just to have him come out here and share his, share his
- 51:40music, first of all, with a community that may not have
- 51:45otherwise been exposed to that because, you know, he he's he's
- 51:49local to a certain area. So unless you like stream his
- 51:52music, you're not going to know about him.
- 51:56But for those of you that are listening or watching this live
- 52:00stream, when I'm talking who I'm talking about, it's Skogermore.
- 52:04And I'll try to put, I'll try to go back into the to the comments
- 52:08or sorry, the description area of the video later and throw a
- 52:11link down there for you on where you can find his music.
- 52:15He also provides great music, but also beer care.
- 52:21He provides beer, oil and gel, if you will, and I actually
- 52:29applied some of his work for this stream.
- 52:32What happened since? Oh, I was going to jump off
- 52:36camera here and grab it, but he did me the the favor of grabbing
- 52:40it, so yeah. This one was a This one was an
- 52:44exclusive. Yep.
- 52:47Because yeah, this was the one that he.
- 52:50Had. Yep, Yep.
- 52:52Right. I'm like a time for my beard.
- 52:55I'm like. Oranges, oranges and cinnamon.
- 53:00This was an exclusive limited edition sent an LTO.
- 53:05Yeah, yeah. That he, So he, he, he, I think
- 53:08he premiered this or he, he, he shared this at TVE this year,
- 53:12the Viking Experience in Oxford, NC.
- 53:16And I'm a sucker for like cinnamon and and citrus, you
- 53:20know what I'm saying? I hear it, but I'll tell you
- 53:22what. His or her time.
- 53:23The pot. Just about the sand, The pine
- 53:27scent. You know me.
- 53:29You know you guys know me. I'm a sucker for pine
- 53:32evergreens. I mean just that smell alone.
- 53:35Insiders. All the best sense like I shared
- 53:39with you before, my special place, I go hiking and walking
- 53:42the pine trail, walking through there any season.
- 53:46It's just anyways off the point, but yeah.
- 53:51No, Dad, dude, Well, talking about that, you know, you, you,
- 53:56you've you spent some really special time out there in those
- 54:00pine trails. You you've assembled some really
- 54:05cool primitive lean to structures in that space.
- 54:11If are we talking about the same?
- 54:13Yes, we. Are we are indeed?
- 54:14Yes, we are no that. But I also did a couple couple
- 54:18of cover videos or drumming videos covering a few artists
- 54:22that I love and appreciate a triga loopy for example.
- 54:26Yeah, yeah. And that's kind of what I was
- 54:28going to bring to the to the front of the conversation is
- 54:31that with with space, you know what I mean?
- 54:33And and holding space or being in an, in an environment and how
- 54:37certain songs or certain music helps us connect with an
- 54:43environment, you know. Absolutely, without doubt.
- 54:48What's it was the most important too for me to remember and
- 54:52looking back on our artists mainly going to the Norse music
- 54:58here like a Turkey loopy in Highland and Puma name Magnor.
- 55:03I had to throw all their names into the ring here.
- 55:05But a Turkey loopy, especially in Highland is they take time,
- 55:13so much sacrifices and energy to very magnificent places.
- 55:19Like when we see these videos, it's like, oh, we're reacting
- 55:24like they live 5 minutes away from there.
- 55:26No, no, no, not at all. And knit land too.
- 55:31I would have kicked myself in the ass if I didn't mention it
- 55:33tonight. Like just saying.
- 55:35You know what I mean though? Like, Oh yeah, their journeys
- 55:38again, when I make these videos, whether it be in knit land, high
- 55:42lung, a Turkey loopy and so on and so forth, I never to
- 55:48somewhat honor what they go through to make their music
- 55:54possible. Like covering a Turkey loopy,
- 55:56for example, like this. I embodied their spirit like,
- 56:00wow, I'm taking this time and not to their extent by any
- 56:03means, but this like really like practicing their songs at home.
- 56:09Like I share with you a little, you know, excerpts and, you
- 56:12know, test runs, if you will. Like, how's this sound?
- 56:15Does it sound all right? It sound good.
- 56:17And then mastering that song to a point and going to the special
- 56:21place again, not my backyard. I've done it before, but not my
- 56:24backyard, but somewhere special. And that really raises not only
- 56:28the energy, but again, the the journey and what it takes to
- 56:35make that possible, right. This is truly magnificent.
- 56:40Yeah, absolutely, man, I think a lot of what music does for us is
- 56:44it it, it like I I think I mentioned before, like it
- 56:46transports us, right? Whether it's to a place in time,
- 56:51right, because of a memory, our parents listen to it, We were
- 56:54introduced to it as kids or it's from our childhood or this or
- 56:57that. But so much of like what you're
- 57:00talking about with some of these musicians and performers and
- 57:06artists who take the time to not just give us an auditory
- 57:11experience, but they give us a visual experience.
- 57:13Let's go to this forest, let's go to this mountain, let's go to
- 57:16this field. Mira Seti is another one who
- 57:18does who has none things like this before, you know what I
- 57:21mean? The landscape paints a picture
- 57:24for our visual senses to be transported to that place
- 57:30through spirit or through through the activity of the
- 57:32music. But that, that like I can
- 57:34picture myself being there, you know what I mean, while not
- 57:38physically being there, right. It's A and then how you honor
- 57:43that, like Mary was talking about before, how she, she takes
- 57:47no repo. And while she may not understand
- 57:49the language or whatever that it's a rune song.
- 57:52It's it's, it's she, she transforms it into something of
- 57:55her own meaning and makes it meaningful.
- 57:58And that and that is that universal language again, coming
- 58:01through to nurture and to heal and to guide in all of these
- 58:08things, you know. And if I may will, if I can, me
- 58:13and you have shared a very awesome encounters and
- 58:18relationship to an extent or appreciation, if you will, of
- 58:21mere SETI, like with all pilots work, all the side projects like
- 58:26I mentioned in my group and on my page too, Her work stands
- 58:33out, enjoying, admiring, maybe ending your interview with her
- 58:40and then another interview I shared with you, you've watched
- 58:43before I even shared it with you.
- 58:44But again, her work, it's simply outstanding.
- 58:51I can't explain it and the ways I want to, but if like the right
- 58:55people know what I'm saying, you're like you.
- 58:57That's your all of our brothers too.
- 58:59But just like it, just it has differently.
- 59:03And like her, appreciation is outside of Highland, but also
- 59:08with it. Well, yeah, because it's so
- 59:11reached. It's, it's so deeply rooted in
- 59:14her culture and in her ancestral roots.
- 59:17And then that's what her artistry is, you know, founded
- 59:24in the expression of her art is, is rooted in connecting with her
- 59:31ancestor and her ancestors. You know what I'm saying?
- 59:34Absolutely, whether it be the land or the musical styles.
- 59:40Like I've recently come across a musician, oddly enough, who's
- 59:46who's been around for decades. And I've just recently
- 59:49discovered them. They, they don't, I don't think
- 59:53they perform live, but they, they have music out there and,
- 59:59and I'm not an old English student of the language.
- 1:00:04I don't know all the right pronunciations.
- 1:00:07But if I'm, if I'm saying this correctly, it's elfric or
- 1:00:11elfric. I don't know because it's a
- 1:00:13ELFRIC. So I don't remember if the C at
- 1:00:17the end of the letter or any word is gives the chapter phenom
- 1:00:21or if it is the C like K sound but it's elfric or elfric.
- 1:00:27Germanic folk music that is aimed at, at preserving the
- 1:00:34traditional meter and, and pattern of old Germanic folk
- 1:00:40music. So it's not really meant to be
- 1:00:42like, you're not going to be like vibe into it going down the
- 1:00:46street or, or whatever, you know, driving down the road or,
- 1:00:50or jamming in the woods. But it's it speaks to an
- 1:00:53ancestral part of ourselves, you know, that that that whole
- 1:00:58connection to our ancestry, to our roots, you know, and that's
- 1:01:02what Mira has has really done too.
- 1:01:04Is is is shared that aspect of I lost my audio.
- 1:01:07By the way. Uh oh, can you hear me?
- 1:01:12Can you hear me again? Just moving around on the on the
- 1:01:17I I can hear you. You're you're good.
- 1:01:20I can hear you. I can hear you.
- 1:01:24So can. Can you hear me?
- 1:01:32Test, Test, test, test, test, test, test.
- 1:01:37La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La.
- 1:01:41The guys can hear me. I'm sorry.
- 1:01:44Yeah, I was trying to. We can hear you.
- 1:01:50We can hear. Me.
- 1:01:51Cool, I was trying to change my hearing aid from my Airpods.
- 1:01:55It didn't work out. So yeah, it's very frustrating
- 1:01:59that I can't hear you at this moment, but I'm hoping the audio
- 1:02:05returns sometime soon. Yeah, try.
- 1:02:08I don't know how to say it but like.
- 1:02:11I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Try it.
- 1:02:14I we can hear you like I can hear you should.
- 1:02:18Be a tricking game at this point, I know.
- 1:02:21Oh my God. Stop messing with a good thing,
- 1:02:25Patrick. When you're like like trying to
- 1:02:27reenact the scene or movie like just son of a bitch, give me a
- 1:02:31few more seconds. I use my shit we're.
- 1:02:36Going to do this the old school way I.
- 1:02:44I should have done it like, oh, wow, let's try to charge my
- 1:02:48hearing aid. Yeah, here we go.
- 1:02:51Let's floor. Let's move.
- 1:02:52It will run there, but I can hear you.
- 1:02:56Yes, yes, yes, yes, I can hear. You.
- 1:02:58I can't see that yet. To draw a little closer here you
- 1:03:04can hear. Cool.
- 1:03:05Well, I can't hear you, but it's challenging me.
- 1:03:12Shoot some ladders. I wish we could pause this, but
- 1:03:16we're live. People, we're live.
- 1:03:18Hold on watch. That why can't just put it on
- 1:03:21audio without my hearing aid or my earbuds.
- 1:03:27Oh bless your heart, Jesse. Oh this guy over here.
- 1:03:31Guys, I'm sorry again. My technology is pretty shit for
- 1:03:35the least. One stay on one type.
- 1:03:44Settings here. Of what do you call it?
- 1:03:49One type of audio device? We're going to try that.
- 1:03:58Maybe this will work. I don't know, Like let me see.
- 1:04:02Stay on one type of audio device.
- 1:04:06Yeah, I've done that. I've done that.
- 1:04:09I had the audio on at all. Right Now I just have my phone
- 1:04:17maximum I disconnected my earbuds.
- 1:04:21OK. Batteries are separated my air
- 1:04:26pods. What do you have?
- 1:04:27What do you have in? What do you have in?
- 1:04:33Do you, I don't know, like what's in here?
- 1:04:43We're going to get through this, people.
- 1:04:45This is this is the kind of shit that I'm talking about.
- 1:04:46It's so much fun. It's so much.
- 1:04:48Fun. Can I possibly join afterwards?
- 1:04:52Yeah, whatever you're going to do.
- 1:04:53Yeah, yeah. Leave and come back.
- 1:04:59Yeah. Do what you got to do, because
- 1:05:03I'm over here doing doing how to do.
- 1:05:07Bless his art, dude. Oh.
- 1:05:12Oh, he's saying, oh, listen, when this thing comes out on the
- 1:05:18audio platforms, 7 people are watching.
- 1:05:20This is crazy. When, when, when this comes out
- 1:05:23on the audio platforms later this week, they're going to be
- 1:05:25like, what in the hell is going on?
- 1:05:27But this is the fun. This is this is I don't know.
- 1:05:33It's it's part of the it's part of the fun guys and gals.
- 1:05:39What a way to to wrap up the the last live experience.
- 1:05:49Let's see here. What can I do?
- 1:05:50Let's see, check your audio settings.
- 1:06:06Check your audio settings because obviously something's
- 1:06:08changed. I.
- 1:06:17Just did that. I just checked my audio
- 1:06:18settings. I'm making this really shitty
- 1:06:20podcast and I'm sorry in advance.
- 1:06:22No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:06:24Listen, listen, you're going to people are going to hear this
- 1:06:26later and it's going to be, this ain't his fault.
- 1:06:28It's just, it is what it is. We got to work through it.
- 1:06:31Ain't nobody making this. When he comes back, we're going
- 1:06:34to, we're going to make this a, we're going to be clear about
- 1:06:37it. Let's see here, what else can we
- 1:06:46try? What's up Chris, every time a
- 1:06:54song is sung, its energy is rekindled and fed.
- 1:06:57I have used wardroon as melody from Voluspa to breathe life
- 1:07:01into other stanzas, and we try to work drumming and singing
- 1:07:05into all of our rituals. That's really cool, Chris.
- 1:07:11We're going to talk about it. Thank you for sharing that.
- 1:07:13Oh, wait a minute, Patrick. Wait a minute, wait a minute, I
- 1:07:15think. We got it, Patrick.
- 1:07:17Patrick, hold on, hold on. I think we got.
- 1:07:19It give me a second I might figure it out here.
- 1:07:23Yes, yes. Do it.
- 1:07:25Do it, Patrick, do it. Do it.
- 1:07:30Search your feelings. You know them to be.
- 1:07:33True. All right.
- 1:07:34I think I'll figure it out. Maybe.
- 1:07:36Possibly. Search your feelings young I.
- 1:07:40Checked the audio settings and I set it up to my Airpods.
- 1:07:44Yes, Airpods are good. Still can't hear you?
- 1:07:47Resync your Airpods. Resync your Airpods.
- 1:07:59Young Skywalker, search your Airpods.

- 1:08:07Skywalker. Re sync your Airpods.
- 1:08:17Re sync your Airpods? Yeah.
- 1:08:22You want me to do it there again?
- 1:08:24Nothing. OK, yes, this is so cool.
- 1:08:35I did. So I did a couple times.
- 1:08:37I turned them off and turned them on.
- 1:08:39No luck. This is what you get for being
- 1:08:42an iPhone user. Loki, you set up a fucking
- 1:08:45bitch. God damn it.
- 1:08:46Come on. Come on it.
- 1:08:49Ain't Logie man just. Say, just say, you know what I
- 1:08:52mean? I'm really sorry I'm making this
- 1:08:54really shitty podcast. I Oh my God.
- 1:08:56Sorry this ridiculous. Oh, this is going to be awesome.
- 1:08:58I was trying to change. My.
- 1:09:00Hearing devices so I could charge my Airpods for later on
- 1:09:03this app or this evening and it's.
- 1:09:05Hell with later on. Shit so.
- 1:09:07Hell with later on, dude. I'm going to check the settings
- 1:09:09here. Really quick here again, good.
- 1:09:13Night, Mary. All the best.
- 1:09:15You've got this. Yeah, we got this.
- 1:09:16We're going to. We're going to.
- 1:09:17We're just going to keep playing around.
- 1:09:19Setting. No.
- 1:09:19What else you going to do it? Just keep playing around.
- 1:09:22What is it we've been going for a little over?
- 1:09:26Audio. Thank you Mary for being here by
- 1:09:29the way. Appreciate you and your support.
- 1:09:31Have a great night. Can be like stop playing with
- 1:09:44things that don't need to be played with AH.
- 1:09:50Fucking hell, son of A. Bitch, whatever.
- 1:09:52It works. Whatever.
- 1:09:53It works. Yeah, I can hear you.
- 1:09:55Yeah, we can hear you just fine. You can hear me, but I still
- 1:10:00can't hear you. Of course.
- 1:10:02Why not? Yeah, we can hear you just fine.
- 1:10:10I'm trying my best right now to figure out this audio situation
- 1:10:14as it's not working to my favor at all.
- 1:10:16Not by any search of imagination here.
- 1:10:22No. Don't use it, are we?
- 1:10:24Wait. I hear you.
- 1:10:26I hear you. Oh my gosh.
- 1:10:27Fucking. Hell.
- 1:10:28Can you hear me? Fucking?
- 1:10:29Can you hear me? Yes, yes, yes.
- 1:10:31OK, Well just to make sure, you can here.
- 1:10:36Yeah, no doubt. Yeah, listen, stop worrying
- 1:10:39about what's happening later. You're in the moment now.
- 1:10:41Thank you. Thank you.
- 1:10:43Fucking present bro. Come on now, I'm here.
- 1:10:46Play ball. God, that's.

- 1:10:54Don't be sorry because you know why This is going to make for
- 1:10:57some epic B roll footage. We're live like.
- 1:11:00Like but it's going. To be so lucky you guys, yeah.
- 1:11:10Enjoy. Oh my God.
- 1:11:11All right, let's see now who we got, what we got.
- 1:11:14We got somebody just bombing in the we got, Let's see, here we
- 1:11:19got, Wesley Curry says. Wow on YouTube.
- 1:11:24Wow, what cosplay? Oh cool.
- 1:11:28All right, I am the vision from Jesus a foot.
- 1:11:30Oh cool. Oh, so you want to be part of
- 1:11:32the B roll footage too you maniac.
- 1:11:36Good God. Watch this.
- 1:11:38Let's say let's, let's, let's, let's do this.
- 1:11:40So let's, let's, let's, let's play a little game.
- 1:11:42I am from the vision. I saw the vision from Jesus.
- 1:11:45A foot cut off in the valley means one will do.
- 1:11:49Who brings these cucamongas into this chat?
- 1:11:52Jesus told you to tell that vision, did you what?
- 1:11:59No, sorry. What is this?
- 1:12:00Look at it, look at it. Look at this dude.
- 1:12:02No time to talk Allah listen to this.
- 1:12:04Watch this. Oh fucking hell dude this is
- 1:12:06crazy. Listen blind for 10 seconds by
- 1:12:12the hand of God Jesus for not telling the vision.
- 1:12:15Adios amigos, bye bye. Sign our.
- 1:12:20You're you're toast. Peace out, you're out here.
- 1:12:23All right, back to the mean potatoes.
- 1:12:25Goddamn listen dude, listen. We did it, we did it.
- 1:12:28We we we got crazy bot Christian accounts to come in and and
- 1:12:33flood the the comments section. Oh yeah, you got disconnected
- 1:12:37'cause you were listening to Jesus.
- 1:12:39Yeah, sorry, that's. Holy shit we did it.
- 1:12:42That's why on the last live stream of the channel we got the
- 1:12:45the crazy Christian, I don't know, whatever the hell.
- 1:12:50Are they that bored right now? Are they that bored?
- 1:12:52Like I have nothing to do right now?
- 1:12:53So this is the shit I'm talking about, man.
- 1:12:56This is the kind of engagement that I get.
- 1:13:00It's the maniacs. It's it's the crazies, it's the,
- 1:13:02it's the people that I don't want anyway.
- 1:13:06They had their little. They had their little moment.
- 1:13:09And. We'll, we'll clip that.
- 1:13:12It's going to be one for the archives.
- 1:13:15Yeah, no shit. But.
- 1:13:17Anyway. Anyway, anyway, what about that?
- 1:13:22What about that? I don't know.
- 1:13:24Where in the hell were we? Miraseti Landscapes, music and
- 1:13:30space. She.
- 1:13:31Did has done all right. So Jesse, who are some artists
- 1:13:37that motivate and inspire you? I've been really getting into,
- 1:13:44well, I said getting into, but I've been like, I really like
- 1:13:47this. The person I mentioned before
- 1:13:49this, this Elfric or Elfric's it's Germanic harp music, but
- 1:13:54it's it's very traditional. And again, it's not like amp you
- 1:13:57up kind of boom, boom, boom, kind of rocking down the road
- 1:14:00kind of thing. I've been getting also into
- 1:14:04Hinderfiol because they also do a lot of poetic styles of, of,
- 1:14:14of music. So Hinderfiol is, has been one
- 1:14:18that I really like with regards to like the Norris or Germanic
- 1:14:23style of music. But you know, I'm not like I'm
- 1:14:28kind of all over the map when it comes to, to music.
- 1:14:30It's just whatever happened to feel like, you know, listening
- 1:14:34to at the moment more of the, of the, I guess, you know, like
- 1:14:41folk music stuff is, is, is speaking to me recently because
- 1:14:46I'm, I'm, I'm leveraging music and I'm leveraging melody and
- 1:14:53rhythm in different forms to help with like my mental health,
- 1:15:00you know what I'm saying? Absolutely.
- 1:15:02Yeah, I. Do so like I know music is like
- 1:15:07one of those things for a lot of people where like certain bands
- 1:15:10or certain projects, you know, they'll say, you know, you saved
- 1:15:13my life or or they, you know, impacted a person at a point in
- 1:15:20their life that they feel. They help you.
- 1:15:24Save them, you know, from either ending their life themselves or
- 1:15:31whatever challenges that they were facing.
- 1:15:32It was a dark time for them, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:15:35It's getting lost in that rabbit hole of self doubt and
- 1:15:39hardships. Yeah, like I was want to touch
- 1:15:42on now that we're back on track finally.
- 1:15:45But again, allow me, if you will, music has always impacted
- 1:15:52us and these specifically do. And something I talked about you
- 1:15:56or talked about recently the other night was music finds us.
- 1:16:02Sometimes there are some songs that either get stuck in her
- 1:16:07head for several days. We wonder why.
- 1:16:10It's my belief, if you will, it gets stuck in her head for a
- 1:16:16reason. I believe it's a message again
- 1:16:20going back to Gojira one song that they they did.
- 1:16:27I sure do up the gift of guilt and we have type of negative
- 1:16:35haunted. Let me go to you know, Hilong
- 1:16:40Alpha Hati. If I pronounce that correctly, I
- 1:16:43probably didn't. Of other height here, yes.
- 1:16:45Thank you. Yeah.
- 1:16:46Yeah. It's just those songs, those
- 1:16:51messages come to us. We don't seek them out.
- 1:16:56Sometimes they come to us. And when it does, it's very
- 1:17:01meaningful and special. Yeah, 100%, man.
- 1:17:05Like I was saying before that this Elfrich, Elfrich Elfrich
- 1:17:09artist, man. Like apparently they've been
- 1:17:11doing stuff since like the late 90s.
- 1:17:13Really. Yeah, apparently it's since like
- 1:17:1598. And you know, I just discovered
- 1:17:18them on band camp. Band cap.
- 1:17:20That's the way to go by the. Way Yeah dude, yeah if you want
- 1:17:23to support your. Local artist or any artist for
- 1:17:25that matter. Yes, especially Mira Seti Band
- 1:17:28cap is the way to go without a doubt.
- 1:17:31Yeah, I mean anybody that has a. Proceeds goes to them unlike
- 1:17:35YouTube or Spotify you know. Oh yeah, you know, band camp
- 1:17:41does a thing. It's every Friday of the week.
- 1:17:43Band camp Fridays, whatever you buy from an artist, all of that
- 1:17:49money goes to them. So band camp doesn't need to
- 1:17:52take a cut or a percentage if you buy their music on Friday.
- 1:17:55So band camp Fridays are a thing.
- 1:17:57They've been a thing, you know, so like when it comes to artists
- 1:18:02and, and supporting them, that's one of probably the best ways
- 1:18:05that I know of that you can digitally support them because
- 1:18:08they're not being taxed on their, their art.
- 1:18:14But like, so Elfred was, was a, was a, was an artist that I've
- 1:18:19discovered recent, like it came to me in a way.
- 1:18:21And it's really interesting that it's, you know, I'm, I'm, I am
- 1:18:25pursuing my, you know, I'm pursuing my, my, my ancestral
- 1:18:36ways in Germanic Heathenry. And the performer or the artist
- 1:18:45that touches most closely to that ancestral way is brought to
- 1:18:53me. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:18:54Like it, it's, it's brought into my vision or into my space.
- 1:18:58So I get that chance to, to listen to something because we
- 1:19:01don't know. We don't know how the, the
- 1:19:03ancient Germanic people, you know, how music impacted their
- 1:19:07life or, or what it sounded like per SE.
- 1:19:09We know that the poems and the poetic meter in which like the
- 1:19:18alliterative meter of, of poetry and how it was spoken, We know
- 1:19:23that we know that much. But in terms of a melody or
- 1:19:26anything that was brought to it, we can, we, we have to
- 1:19:27reconstruct it. So, but like what we can
- 1:19:31reconstruct and, and come as close as what we think it might
- 1:19:34sound like. When, when, when people do stuff
- 1:19:36like that, like it, it touches my heart.
- 1:19:39You know what I mean? It touches a very deep and
- 1:19:41primal portion of my spirit to connect in that way 'cause I'm
- 1:19:47like this, this might be very close to what my ancient
- 1:19:52ancestors would have heard if given the chance to hear it.
- 1:19:56You know what I mean? Nothing, nothing overproduced.
- 1:19:59No, you know, no, not mixed and mastered to to the high heavens
- 1:20:03or whatever. Just just raw, raw drums.
- 1:20:08You don't have to be in key. You don't have to, you know,
- 1:20:11sound like the perfect performer, the perfect, you
- 1:20:15know, whatever. It's just, it's from the heart,
- 1:20:18it's from where you're from. And, and, and that those songs,
- 1:20:24those those sounds that echo from those places is, is what
- 1:20:30really has been kind of brought to me recently.
- 1:20:35And with that said, to off topic and on topic with all your great
- 1:20:43understanding and very patient viewers.
- 1:20:46Thanks in advance. By the way, I go back to a video
- 1:20:52I've shared and told you about many times, but going back to a
- 1:20:56guy, I keep saying this term, point of origins.
- 1:20:59We go back to when I first discovered you on YouTube, how
- 1:21:04to perform a basic hidden ritual.
- 1:21:07It's funny in a weird way because like, yes, the audio was
- 1:21:10outrageous and all about jazz, but the message?
- 1:21:18Yeah, I wasn't out, you know, I was definitely learning a lot at
- 1:21:20that time and and doing the best that I could with what I had
- 1:21:23available to me. But when I look back on it, I'm
- 1:21:26like. Rough.
- 1:21:31I'll be outside the spectrum there.
- 1:21:33I'm like, yes, I was too. I'll start trying to figure
- 1:21:37things out where to go from here, but you and not only
- 1:21:41provide my own personal experience for everyone here
- 1:21:45who's watching. I'd love to know down in the
- 1:21:48comments section. When did you find Jesse's
- 1:21:52channel? Any video in particular?
- 1:21:56Please let us know. I'm glad to hear it again, you
- 1:21:58know? Yeah, that's my question is
- 1:22:00yeah, how to perform a basic heathen ritual.
- 1:22:03But again, that's off topic, but that's going to throw that to
- 1:22:06the ring here and get, you know, honor and respect and praise to
- 1:22:10you well. I appreciate it, man.
- 1:22:13But yeah, that's the kind of a fun thing.
- 1:22:15I mean, we, there's, there's currently we got 7 live viewers
- 1:22:18spread across two different platforms.
- 1:22:19So not a whole lot. But if you are watching and you
- 1:22:23want to just drop a comment, you know, where did you first
- 1:22:26discover Midgard musings, I guess, you know, feel free to to
- 1:22:30chime in if you want to. Patrick found the video that I
- 1:22:35posted. Gosh, it was, I mean.
- 1:22:40I could pick it up, actually 20. 20 Probably 2019.
- 1:22:44Yeah, I'm more than Confidence 2020.
- 1:22:46Give me a second. I'll look up my library here.
- 1:22:49It was like how to perform a basic heathen ritual and I, I
- 1:22:52did like a re. I did I I re.
- 1:22:53Six years ago, it was six years ago, so yeah. 2019-2020, 2019,
- 1:22:57yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:23:00And that's a long time. You know, I mean, like for
- 1:23:02people that have either just now discovering this, then that may
- 1:23:06not know, like I've been doing this for a hot minute and I'm
- 1:23:13I'm going to continue doing what I'm going to do.
- 1:23:16But it's it's not going to be in the same fashion as I've been
- 1:23:20doing it because times change and people have to change.
- 1:23:22And you're going to see you're going to see more of what I'm
- 1:23:26talking about with regards to this on November 1st.
- 1:23:30I have a video that I'm going to upload on November 1st about
- 1:23:33this. Chris Miller found me because
- 1:23:37there was a crossover with Eric Shervin.
- 1:23:40Eric Word Weaver Shervin another great influencer in.
- 1:23:45In the great guy, you know. And, and honestly, I don't think
- 1:23:50I would have pursued Midgard musings to the extent that I had
- 1:23:54or have, had it not been for Eric.
- 1:23:59I, I looked up to Eric and I still do, you know, I, I still
- 1:24:02admire his contributions to online Heathenry because that's
- 1:24:08the extent of which I know him. I do have his number.
- 1:24:12And, and like we've connected, we've talked offline very
- 1:24:15extensively, very, very much. But he's a good, he's a good
- 1:24:18man. He's a good heathen.
- 1:24:21And it's interesting that, you know, Chris says that, you know,
- 1:24:24my content and his, you know, meaning Eric's, that there was a
- 1:24:30crossover there. So algorithmically our content
- 1:24:34kind of got shared to the same audience.
- 1:24:39And that that that's something special for me to think about.
- 1:24:42You know, 'cause somebody who I had looked up to and admired and
- 1:24:45still do to this day that that there was a, a crossover 'cause
- 1:24:54there's a lot out here, folks. I'll just say real quick.
- 1:24:57You know, when, when, when you watch what I have to say on, on
- 1:25:02the first on November 1st, which is Saturday.
- 1:25:09There's a lot out here. There's a lot out here on the
- 1:25:11Internet, and there's a lot out outside of the Internet and.
- 1:25:22It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a space to explore.
- 1:25:27And I don't want people to feel restricted in their efforts to
- 1:25:33explore based off of something that I've ever said or what
- 1:25:38anybody else has ever said. You know, this is the last live
- 1:25:42broadcast that I can see happening in the foreseeable
- 1:25:46future. So if the last thing that I say
- 1:25:48during a live broadcast is to remind you folks to not let what
- 1:25:55people on the Internet say deter you from your own exploration,
- 1:26:03go and wander. You know what I mean?
- 1:26:05Go and go and figure it out for yourself.
- 1:26:08Don't let what I say, don't take what I say.
- 1:26:10Or anybody else for that matter. Don't take what anybody else
- 1:26:12says as as a reason to not pursue your own path.
- 1:26:19Figure it out for yourself. We're in a time and we're in a,
- 1:26:24we're in a state of existence for people that that needs to
- 1:26:27happen. You got to figure it out for
- 1:26:29yourself. And if people are out here being
- 1:26:32too influential and being they have too strong of a voice and
- 1:26:36they're quenching that spirit in others to pursue knowledge and
- 1:26:42to find things you don't, don't let that happen.
- 1:26:49People. You know, this is live right
- 1:26:52now. And I'm telling you, don't let
- 1:26:54what I say and what anybody else says stop you from pursuing
- 1:26:57knowledge and, and figuring it out for yourself, even if it
- 1:27:01hurts in the process, even if you get stung, even if you get
- 1:27:03burned, even if it sucks, learn something from it.
- 1:27:07Don't. Don't let what I say what what
- 1:27:10anybody else says to Terry stops me that.
- 1:27:13Yeah. And you know, just, I'm really
- 1:27:16heavily came to this point too, because we not we, we, we may
- 1:27:22not be on the same boat here. We're on the same ocean.
- 1:27:29We're sailing. Very key in the.
- 1:27:31Same direction, you know, and again, like I will share too
- 1:27:37much from this point, but I'm right there with you.
- 1:27:42Sometimes we do get hung up over reactions, participation, and
- 1:27:52it's my humble opinion that we're doing ourselves a huge
- 1:27:57disservice and focusing on that. Now, before I continue, our
- 1:28:03supporters, our friends, our brothers, our lovers and
- 1:28:08supporters, again, we love you, we appreciate you, but again,
- 1:28:15it's our own journey that we're sharing.
- 1:28:19You may like it, you may agree with it, you may not.
- 1:28:22If you don't agree with what I say or Jesse says, that's fine
- 1:28:27and dandy. That's the wonderful thing about
- 1:28:30life. We have our own opinions.
- 1:28:34Besides the Bible thumpers who made their way in here, I I'm
- 1:28:39not going. To go, that was wild.
- 1:28:42It was wild. I think Chris was here to watch
- 1:28:45all that because I mean, there's, there's been seven
- 1:28:47people that have been that have been like staying by and maybe
- 1:28:50they're still out there, but I blocked them from from
- 1:28:52commenting any further. So they're so bored I pity them.
- 1:28:56They're just, they're just, they're just doing in their own
- 1:28:59will. They're in their mama's
- 1:29:01basement, you know, waiting for that next batch of cookies be
- 1:29:05arrived with their little cold glass of milk.
- 1:29:08You know I'm just fucking sane after just.
- 1:29:10Maybe. They're nowhere on our level.
- 1:29:12Maybe a fresh patch of Oreos, Patrick.
- 1:29:15Oh you motherf God damn it. You know what?
- 1:29:20No regrets. Yeah, man, this has been a lot
- 1:29:25of fun, dude. You know, we've talked a lot
- 1:29:28about different things, but you know, music being the central
- 1:29:32voice or the central sound that resonates.
- 1:29:35I can't think of a better way to kind of culminate these live
- 1:29:43streams, at least for the foreseeable future.
- 1:29:46Then by talking about a language that is universal, you don't
- 1:29:52have to believe the same cultural, you know, religious,
- 1:29:59whatever spiritual path. Then then, then that what I do,
- 1:30:04what Patrick does or whatever. This is a heathen podcast,
- 1:30:08right? It is, it is that.
- 1:30:10But the central message right is, is find your own way.
- 1:30:14If you happen to come across this because of an algorithm,
- 1:30:21I'm not trying to not trying to make people connect to something
- 1:30:25that they don't feel connected to, but music, that rhythm, that
- 1:30:31sound that is, you know, the heartbeat of our shared mother.
- 1:30:37You know what I mean? That is this, that is the that
- 1:30:39is the voice and that is the sound of our shared birth giver.
- 1:30:45We, we come from the same source and whatever label you want to
- 1:30:48put to it, that it that that's limiting there.
- 1:30:52There's something deeper and there's something greater beyond
- 1:30:54that. Find that for yourself, whatever
- 1:30:57it might be, whatever that sounds like, whatever that looks
- 1:30:59like, and music can help guide you there the.
- 1:31:04Very act, the very act of creation, of music, and really
- 1:31:09sit there and think about it is mind bending.
- 1:31:13How it started, how music really started.
- 1:31:16No one can really say it, fortunately, but then going from
- 1:31:22that point to where we are today, it's just again, mind
- 1:31:28bending. All the genres, all the
- 1:31:31creations. I mean, again, I love music in
- 1:31:37its entirety. We love music in its entirety.
- 1:31:41There's some genres that I refuse to listen to, like rap,
- 1:31:44pop, country, hit or miss, what have you.
- 1:31:49But again, it's that expression. We may not relate to it, but we
- 1:31:55can at least appreciate it. Right.
- 1:31:59Like I can't really hate any can't really hate any gyros, but
- 1:32:04there's some songs that I can't stand.
- 1:32:06But again, music as a whole, besides fire is one of our most
- 1:32:14special gifts we've been given. And like fire, we I like to
- 1:32:19believe creative music. And again, going back to what
- 1:32:23we're saying earlier is like high along like being as
- 1:32:28Americans or even the UK or what have you.
- 1:32:32We hear songs even outside of our country.
- 1:32:35Listen to us as Americans. It goes both ways.
- 1:32:39Like we hear music as music. We hear that message without
- 1:32:44even understand the lyrics. I just I find that truly healing
- 1:32:48and magic in itself, truly this absolutely outstanding.
- 1:32:53I mean, I could talk about it for hours and hours, but just
- 1:32:56like talking about this topic again, it's just really a really
- 1:33:03great topic to go on. And before we get off here
- 1:33:07again, Jesse, I've sent you the videos I did earlier this
- 1:33:10evening. But I'm very honored and very
- 1:33:15happy to be part of these podcasts for better and for
- 1:33:21worse. You know, like despite tonight's
- 1:33:24fuck re with my hearing situation with my Airpods and
- 1:33:29hearing aid, I thank you and everyone watching and who has
- 1:33:34watched for same time, setting you aside the time to listen to
- 1:33:40us and most importantly, my brother Jesse.
- 1:33:44John, Adam, thank you guys very much for joining us.
- 1:33:48I mean, enough said as John says, you're dead.
- 1:33:53The damn war just showed up. Exactly, man.
- 1:33:57It's just, you know, that's what it's all about.
- 1:33:59It's just the message to our experience and our journey and
- 1:34:03that's what music will always be, part of our journey.
- 1:34:09Well said, man. You know, I just have to give
- 1:34:11you props too, because, you know, you were here facing a
- 1:34:15challenge, facing difficulties with, you know, external
- 1:34:19challenges. You could have, you could have
- 1:34:22bailed. You know, that was a choice.
- 1:34:24You, you could have been like, I'm done, I'm out.
- 1:34:26And then, but you didn't, you stuck through it.
- 1:34:28We stuck through it. We, we work through it together
- 1:34:30and people get to see it in real time.
- 1:34:33This is, you know, again, a great way to kind of end the the
- 1:34:38live broadcast for the foreseeable future is you got to
- 1:34:41see something happen in real time between two real people who
- 1:34:45have spent real time together and who have established a
- 1:34:48relationship with one another that I'm not going to give up on
- 1:34:50this man. I'm going to be here with him to
- 1:34:53see it through and he's going to be here to see it through with
- 1:34:55me because we share in that kinship relationship.
- 1:34:59He's not going to bail on me. I'm not going to bail on him.
- 1:35:02We're going to see it through and it's going to be what it's
- 1:35:04going to be. If you didn't watch it or you
- 1:35:06didn't listen through it, whatever, that's cool.
- 1:35:08That's on you. But I'm not going to let this
- 1:35:11man tread water. I'm going to tread water right
- 1:35:15there beside him. I want to do what I can to see
- 1:35:18him through it. You know what I mean?
- 1:35:19And and if any, if you take anything away from all of this
- 1:35:22tonight, take take that away. So we've got just a quick
- 1:35:27comment here. Corey Thomas says, looks like I
- 1:35:30missed a lot was on the road from seeing my mother-in-law in
- 1:35:33hospital on Hospice. Corey Thomas, let me just share
- 1:35:38my condolences for you on that and the fact that you popped in.
- 1:35:43I'm going through something similar.
- 1:35:44And I, I just want to let you know that you know, I'm, I'm,
- 1:35:48I'm sorry that you're going through that.
- 1:35:50That's tough. And thank you for just by
- 1:35:53stopping by, just thank you for taking that time out of your
- 1:35:55journey out of this hardship that you're going through.
- 1:35:58Sorry, Jesse. Just thank you for taking the
- 1:36:00time to say that that's you can also rewatch this later on.
- 1:36:06Yeah, exactly. You can rewatch this because
- 1:36:07it's not going anywhere. Thank you.
- 1:36:10And I'm sorry, Dina. Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:36:14And Dina says too. I love that we got to see the
- 1:36:16determination and bond that you share.
- 1:36:21You know, guys and gals out here like this is it's it's real.
- 1:36:24This isn't we, we don't script these things.
- 1:36:27It's live. It's happening.
- 1:36:28I'm not going to, you know, I'm not some big production that's
- 1:36:31going to cut any of this shit out.
- 1:36:33You you saw it. You saw it here 1st.
- 1:36:36And if anything that you get to take away from this is, is that.
- 1:36:46That's what real is it, it, it's, it's, it's not letting
- 1:36:49your your kin. It's not letting your people
- 1:36:54fall while you're able to. If they, if they stumble, you're
- 1:36:59there to see them through it. He had to go through what he had
- 1:37:04to go through. I couldn't fix his technical
- 1:37:06issues, but damn it, I'm not going to just be like, well.
- 1:37:09Alright, Patrick, you drop. Aside, carry on with the show,
- 1:37:12right, the show. But guess what this is this is
- 1:37:14part of the show. So it's reality.
- 1:37:17It's it's an example I think of something that touches on a
- 1:37:21deeper level. So I don't want to beat the
- 1:37:23horse to death with it. You, you, you squat, you hear
- 1:37:27it. Thank you for acknowledging it,
- 1:37:29Dina. Thank you, Corey, for coming by
- 1:37:31and again, my, my sympathies, my condolences go to you.
- 1:37:36Please be there with your people.
- 1:37:41This is a, a moment in time where they need you more than
- 1:37:46than we do here. So be there with them and, and
- 1:37:50be there in love and be there in support.
- 1:37:53And that's, that's I guess a good message.
- 1:37:55I want to leave people with myself because I don't know when
- 1:37:59or if these live broadcasts on this platform will continue.
- 1:38:02It's not going to happen for the foreseeable future.
- 1:38:04So for you though, for the, you know, you folks that were here,
- 1:38:09what a great way to showcase who I am, what I represent, what I
- 1:38:18mean, what I say online, what I've said online, the things
- 1:38:21that I've said, things that have been criticized for.
- 1:38:27I'm not just talk, you know what I mean?
- 1:38:31And, and on that note, I'll just, I'll show.
- 1:38:33Let's see. We got Dina that says thank you
- 1:38:37for the inspiration tonight. This was an incredibly timely
- 1:38:41topic. Music is a huge part of my
- 1:38:44ritual. My cat passed this morning and
- 1:38:49I've been mentally preparing to sing for her tonight.
- 1:38:53Your conversation has helped. It's a tough time for many of us
- 1:38:58for various reasons it seems, and I'm sending my love to you
- 1:39:03all. I'm so sorry for lost your cat.
- 1:39:09Anyone who knows me? Yeah, man.
- 1:39:13My friend, at some point tonight, my friend, I will let a
- 1:39:19candle if you'll allow me. But thank you and I'm so sorry
- 1:39:23for your loss. It's heavy times, people.
- 1:39:28Yeah, Dina, for you being here just to share that much and to
- 1:39:30write that all out. Thank you.
- 1:39:33And again, my condolences as well.
- 1:39:36And I don't want to I don't want to take any more time from
- 1:39:39people for that. So this is going to be us
- 1:39:43signing off for the night. Let us let us take our time to,
- 1:39:47to heal, to integrate and to work through all these things.
- 1:39:55Thank you, Patch. It's just so Dina says, thank
- 1:39:57you so much. I would love it if you lit a
- 1:39:59candle. And yes, that, that, that, that
- 1:40:04that's a thing. And we will in solidarity and in
- 1:40:08support. And I thank you all, everybody,
- 1:40:12whether you've commented or not, your, your support, your
- 1:40:16presence, your energy, your love.
- 1:40:21It's it does not go unnoticed. You matter, OK?
- 1:40:27We've talked a lot about various things that touch our lives in
- 1:40:30various ways. You matter.
- 1:40:37And of course and. I thank you for and I thank you
- 1:40:39for being here and thank you Patrick as well for being here.
- 1:40:41So I'm going to shut up and I'm going to let Patrick say his
- 1:40:44parting words before we we wrap this whole thing up.
- 1:40:49So, Patrick, what would you like to to leave?
- 1:40:51The people with like I mentioned before, I'm sorry for the
- 1:40:55interruptions and shenanigans that go with my nature if you
- 1:40:58will, but to anyone who's watching is who's watching and
- 1:41:05will watch in the future, thank you for supporting this man.
- 1:41:14Again, what happened since as a happy accident.
- 1:41:20Again, going back to my point, how to perform basic hidden
- 1:41:24ritual. From that point on, him and I
- 1:41:29have established something magnificent and I hope to
- 1:41:34inspire you guys as well to do the same.
- 1:41:39Not by that very nature, but just by being yourselves,
- 1:41:43engaging, loving, supporting, sitting with us, being with us,
- 1:41:50much like music, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:41:53But again, it's been a tremendous honor, Jesse, being
- 1:41:58part of your podcast, the times that we have.
- 1:42:01And aside from that, our chats and private and company shared a
- 1:42:08few times. Just thank everybody for all
- 1:42:12that you do. And Jesse, you being you.
