- 0:10Hello, this is Todd Royal.
- 0:11Welcome on your host, and welcome to another episode of Geopower, Energy, and Real Politics.
- 0:17I don't think we have anything to talk about today.
- 0:18So it's been a great show.
- 0:20Thank you, everybody.
- 0:24Yeah, I think we got one or two things to talk about, which is interesting because no one talks right now that Pakistan and Afghanistan are at war with one another.
- 0:32My God, that land is constantly at war.
- 0:35Maybe somebody ever wants to ask, why are you guys always at war with one another?
- 0:39Could it be a religion?
- 0:41Hmm.
- 0:42Call me, call me crazy.
- 0:45The war again, which brings in China, and of course it brings in India and Bangladesh and on and on and on.
- 0:54These people are constantly at war.
- 0:57Uh God, if you're the Chinese and the Indians, I would imagine you just look around and go, can we not be at war for once?
- 1:07But that's that's a little aside.
- 1:08We do have a few things to chat about, one of them being, of course, they're in war still going on.
- 1:13But I think what we really have to realize is you know, I've talked about previous episodes that renewables are done and fossil fuels are here to stay.
- 1:24Uh, Mark P.
- 1:25Mills just gave a wonderful talk about fossil fuels and the fallacy of renewables and EVs, and he still says he's a fan of it.
- 1:34And I respect uh Mr.
- 1:36Mills for saying that.
- 1:37I'm not because they don't work.
- 1:39But I get it, you got to say those things.
- 1:43And how EVs are never going to overtake, at least under its current technological progress, uh, internal combustion engine.
- 1:52It's interesting about an EB.
- 1:54Uh dear friends who have them has a Tesla cyber truck.
- 1:59And I said, what's the range on this?
- 2:02And he goes, um, 330 miles.
- 2:05And I go, what if it's windy or hilly?
- 2:07And he's like, a lot less.
- 2:09So I'm gonna buy some 40, 50, 80, whatever monstrosity, and I'm gonna have range anxiety.
- 2:19Why do I say all this?
- 2:21Are we here to bash renewables again?
- 2:24No, even though every single component is made with fossil fuels and how they're mined and transported and put together, all the diesel and all the fossil fuels and all the giant machines with all of their steel and all of that is made with a fossil fuel.
- 2:40I hope one day they're made with nuclear reactors.
- 2:45But for now, they're made with fossil fuels.
- 2:48So what's the point?
- 2:51The great, the wonderful David Blackman who I've had on the show, special shout out to David.
- 2:57He does a I've told you you should you should really subscribe to his substacks called David Blackman's Energy Editions.
- 3:05He's also got a podcast that he does, a couple of different ones that I David is just such a pragmatic guy.
- 3:14And he talked about obviously the Strait of Hormous.
- 3:17And David did this piece earlier in the week about the global commodity supply shock.
- 3:24And it was in the Daily Call, the Daily Caller.
- 3:27And an excerpt, just I want you to realize again, when people like Mark Jacobson, Bill McKibben, um, Tom Steyr, who's running for governor of California, every environmental organization.
- 3:43Uh, the Hollywood actor, Mark Ruffalo, which um, you know, comedians, you'll obviously, you know, uh uh the Stephen Colbert.
- 3:55You know, people have YouTube shows, I mean, on and on and on.
- 3:59And these people will talk about these complex issues because they hate Republicans, which I would counter Republicans tend to be more religious.
- 4:08So what you're really saying is I hate Jesus.
- 4:10And I get it, people go, well, that's a stretch.
- 4:12That's just the truth.
- 4:14Um George W.
- 4:16Bush was a was was an all that we know about him.
- 4:22Born again Christian, stop drinking, uh, attended church services regularly.
- 4:26You'd have them at Camp David, uh, a pious man, a good, a good man.
- 4:31You didn't see that with a Joe Biden or Barack Obama.
- 4:34Those those are kind of examples to use, but David really breaks it down here where he talks about okay, the Strait of Hormuz is close.
- 4:46I've talked about how radically stupid that is that half the world's fertilizer and 30% or more of fossil fuels traverse through an unstable region with a militaristic at war, hates everybody religion.
- 5:10Islam.
- 5:10That's what it is.
- 5:12Read the Quran.
- 5:13It's not saying, of course, that every Muslim is that way, but typically the ones in the Middle East can be that way, and we're rapidly seeing more of it in America and Europe as we brought these folks over.
- 5:26Uh unwisely, in my view.
- 5:30But here's where David talks about.
- 5:32So he goes, let's just break down things that are needed to run the economy.
- 5:38Now remember, these are all things that are done with fossil fuel.
- 5:41So, first off, and David talks about liquefied natural gas.
- 5:46So Qatar or Cutter supplied an estimated 17 to 20% of global LNG needs to importing countries, whether the Philippines, China, most of Southeast Asia, certainly Europe.
- 6:03They say may he talk about mainly in Asian and European markets.
- 6:07So a shortage of liquefied natural gas means higher utility prices for consumers and higher emissions.
- 6:17As utilities are switching to coal.
- 6:20Now, here's where we're going to talk about food.
- 6:24Again, please remember that all of this stuff.
- 6:39So about half of the global supply, what's called urea, UREA, meaning that is high nitrogen solid fertilizer comes from the Persian Gulf region.
- 6:49It will take longer to develop, but a severe supply shortage of fertilizer will inevitably create severe food shortages.
- 6:57A long-term loss of half the world's supply of fertilizer will result in skyrocketing costs that will force many farming operations into bankruptcy.
- 7:09Now, let me put on my little conspiracy theory hat and say don't ever be surprised if it comes out one day that global environmental organizations, the U.S.
- 7:18Democratic Party, and European Greens want this war to happen because they believe less people is better for the environment.
- 7:31He wrote, you know, the population bomb and silent spring by Rachel Carson.
- 7:36Um, you know, extinction rebellion, just stop oil, green peace, all of them want less human beings.
- 7:44Go read the go read Friends of the Earth.
- 7:47Go read Sierra Club.
- 7:48Uh, go read the National Resource Defense Council.
- 7:51Go read um Gina McCarthy, who is the EPA administrator under President Barack Obama.
- 7:56Go read what these people say.
- 7:58They want less people.
- 7:59How do you get less people?
- 8:01Starve them.
- 8:02Kill them.
- 8:03Um, how do you do that?
- 8:04Make sure they don't have fertilizer.
- 8:07It's not come out yet, but they'll be surprised if you start to see that these global environmental organizations, um, all of these people want nothing more than to see people die because of this.
- 8:19So fertilizer, you need this thing called urea.
- 8:22Next, helium.
- 8:24Roughly 30 to 35% of global helium supplies also come from the Persian Gulf.
- 8:32Helium is a crucial feedstock for the manufacturing of all sorts of products, perhaps most importantly, computer chips.
- 8:38Who knew?
- 8:39Even more problematic, all the Middle East helium has derived from the same Qatari LNG plants that were knocked out by Iranian missiles in the conflict's early days, in which Qatar says we'll be offline for three to five years.
- 8:53I don't believe that, by the way, but I think they can put them back up in a year if they want to.
- 8:58Next, ammonia, a major feed stock for the production of fertilizers.
- 9:05Almost one-third of global supplies come from the Middle East.
- 9:09Gulf products account for about 30% of worldwide ammonia exports.
- 9:14Again, ammonia, you have to have ammonia to make fertilizer.
- 9:18Roughly you'll see half to even 70% of the world's food has fertilizers.
- 9:26They're made from fertilizer.
- 9:27Another thing, sulfur.
- 9:29Sulfur is a byproduct of oil and gas processing, which again is used in fertilizers.
- 9:36Now, somebody could say, wait a minute, Todd.
- 9:39So we have ammonia, we have sulfur, we have heal, you know, you need this helium.
- 9:46Um you need nitrogen.
- 9:49Isn't that bad for food?
- 9:51Sure, you can probably make that case.
- 9:54But tell me how you're gonna feed all these people that have that have used this.
- 9:58And fertilizer.
- 10:00Fertilizers have been thoroughly studied.
- 10:02Many, many, many legal cases, certainly in the West.
- 10:06So tell me how you're going to feed the billions of people that rely on fertilizer.
- 10:11Again, uh, I pretty much can't stand the U.S.
- 10:15Democratic Party and every single environmental organization and anyone who's an environmentalist because they're anti-human people and they hate fertilizers and they talk about going back to the natural part of Earth.
- 10:27The thing you always have to ask people like this, the Tom Steers and Michael Bloombergs, okay, how do you want people to be fed?
- 10:34Do you want to do a true organic farm?
- 10:38Okay.
- 10:39How high are you willing for prices to go?
- 10:41Because when there's shortages of food, people tend to riot.
- 10:46Um just go look at the French Revolution.
- 10:49When when people riot, they come after everybody when they're when they're hungry.
- 10:55So yes, nitrogen, ammonia, sulfur.
- 10:59Wow, that's not that doesn't sound really good, Todd.
- 11:02Well, you're right.
- 11:04But tell me, tell me a better solution.
- 11:05It's like people who say, no more fossil fuels, no more oil.
- 11:09Great.
- 11:10How are you going to make that wind turbine, that electric vehicle?
- 11:14Are you going to make uh that solar panel?
- 11:16How are you going to be quote unquote green?
- 11:19It's the dumbest argument on the planet.
- 11:22Um, but sulfur, this byproduct of oil and gas processing.
- 11:26It's using fertilizers, rubber, metals processing, a lot of metal in um in uh solar panels, wind turbines, and chemical manufacturing, nearly half of the world's traded seaborne sulfur originates from the Persian Gulf region.
- 11:45Next thing called broader fertilizers.
- 11:48Roughly 20% to 30% of the global non-Urea, which means that's heavy in nitrogen.
- 11:53Fertilizer trade transits the strait each day with phosphate fertilizers making up most of that percentage.
- 12:00Aluminum, the Middle East accounts for about 8% to 10% of global aluminum supplies.
- 12:06A significant majority of Gulf of Gulf exports must transit the strait.
- 12:26These are all precursors, napta, polyethylene, and polypropylene are precursors for plastic packaging and manufacturing.
- 12:36The Middle East supplies about 30% of global seaborne exports.
- 12:41Roughly 40% of polyethylene and more than 30% of NAFTA flows to Asia.
- 12:50So do we think Asia is going to get rid of plastics packaging and manufacturing?
- 12:56Um these, as David has said, these are the big categories of commodities and good, but he goes, trust me, that list is not comprehensive.
- 13:06The events of the last five plus weeks will echo through the global supply chains and economy for many months to come.
- 13:18These are all things that come from fossil fuels.
- 13:23Alex X, Alex Epstein probably does the best work on what you can call the morality of fossil fuels, why you should use them, how they give life, how they're pro-human.
- 13:47Um Alex's work.
- 13:51Alex has done this kind of work.
- 13:53Um, he's got a book called The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels, you got another call, I believe it's called Fossil Futures.
- 13:59In other words, what this is a war.
- 14:03Appreciate David, appreciate you, David.
- 14:05Love love this conflict, but I'd call it a war.
- 14:08When you're bombing and killing people, those are wars.
- 14:12Um you're going after an ideology, which is radical Islam, that's a war.
- 14:18And also we need to realize if someone's really following, if you're if you're really, if you read the Quran and follow the Quran, that's gonna make for a hard person to get along with.
- 14:33The bigger question is why has the world allowed all of this to take place?
- 14:40Why have we allowed, why have we allowed environmentalists, Democrats, European Greens, uh, really all of Germany to not make their own fossil fuels.
- 14:55When you think about the evil of climate change and global warming and environmentalists, read them this.
- 15:02So you're gonna you're you are going to allow Strait of Hormuz, the Red Sea, frankly, just the Middle East, this this place that has not been stable, has it ever?
- 15:19Maybe during the time of Solomon during the Bible when they had peace.
- 15:25Tell me when these people have been peaceful.
- 15:27Tell me.
- 15:30Um, this isn't the Jews.
- 15:34These guys have been mad for since the beginning of time.
- 15:41If you really want to look at this Iranian war, what you really should look at is why things that make modern life, food, petroleum, gas, gasoline, packaging, manufacturing, chemicals, fertilizer.
- 16:01All of it.
- 16:05What do you want to say?
- 16:06Half the world that that makes things run come through the Middle East, come through the Strait of Hormuz.
- 16:13Tell me why Iran has not been invaded.
- 16:17Uh I'm there's a little part of me that's speechless.
- 16:25I want you to think about the Europeans, and and there's a there's a piece.
- 16:30Um by the great and the wonderful, wonderful Andrew uh Korbkov.
- 16:36I quote Andrew often.
- 16:38He's probably in every one of my shows.
- 16:40He's in my show notes.
- 16:42Did a piece, and again, I would recommend his newsletter.
- 16:47It's probably just about the best geopolitical writings you're gonna find.
- 16:52He's so prolific.
- 16:54It's something that can be read in five to seven minutes.
- 16:57He puts out, gosh, three, four, five or more pieces per day.
- 17:03I mean, it it to me, it's like having your own intelligence agency.
- 17:10But here's what's so maddening about the Europeans.
- 17:15So the Europeans do not produce any energy.
- 17:19The Europeans don't have any oil, don't have any natural gas because they believe in global warming.
- 17:26They they allow people like Keir Starmer, Ed Miliban, McCrone, Frederick Mertz, uh, Angela Merkel, those are both German leaders.
- 17:38She's the former, he's the current to run Europe.
- 17:46Europe uses approximately 38 exajoules of energy.
- 17:51They produce six.
- 17:54But here's what I love.
- 17:58The Finnish president, Alexander Stubb.
- 18:02Now, the Finns are heavy, heavily militarized.
- 18:06They have fought the Russians before, they would fight them again.
- 18:09You'd be in for a nasty fight if you take on the Finns.
- 18:12But the Finns have decided they're going to be part of the EU.
- 18:15They even want to be, they're going to be part of the EU and NATO, right?
- 18:21So he likes uh President Stubb likes to write often in um foreign affairs.
- 18:27Foreign affairs is really the premier geopolitical, national security, foreign quote unquote, you know, uh no pun intended, foreign affairs publication in the United States.
- 18:39It's put out by the council on foreign relations.
- 18:42If you want to think about your deep state, your Washington, D.C.
- 18:45connected, your kind of global elite connected publication, foreign affairs is it.
- 18:50If you really want to see what are elites really there, or public officials or billionaires or the head of influential think tanks or the United Nations uh top uh lawyers in the world, just you know, professors, top U.S.
- 19:08universities, global universities, what are they thinking when it comes to national security and geopolitics, how nations interact with one another.
- 19:18You'll be really shocked at some of the things that they think.
- 19:24So President Stubbs said he believes now the U.S.
- 19:28leads what he calls the global West, which is more transactional, while the EU leads the global north that wants to restore the liberal world order.
- 19:40I'm gonna stop you there because it's a little bit like last week when someone said we cannot open up the Strait of Hormuz.
- 19:49And my response was yes, you can.
- 20:00Not saying this sounds good, something you want to do, but there's been influential energy writers and pundits who say, you know, don't do it, Mr.
- 20:08President.
- 20:08Don't take out their power grid.
- 20:10This is a war crime.
- 20:12This is against international law.
- 20:15My response to all of them would be okay.
- 20:19Do you believe that World War II was just or unjust?
- 20:25Do you believe what Iran has done to its own citizens?
- 20:29Do you believe what they've done for 47 years?
- 20:31Do you believe how they kind of terrorized the Middle East and now they've shut down the Strait of Ormuz because us and Israelis are bombing them because we believe they have a nuclear weapon?
- 20:40They're very close to having a nuclear weapon.
- 20:44Do you believe they should have a nuclear weapon or not?
- 20:47Do you believe that World War II was just or unjust?
- 20:52You hear these revisions of World War II, Tucker Carlson, and other folks that he's had on his uh podcast.
- 21:00Okay.
- 21:01Tell me what you'd have done about Nazi Germany if you don't do what's referred to as total war.
- 21:08We bombed babies.
- 21:11We knew where factories were in neighborhoods next to bakeries and school, and we bombed them.
- 21:16We killed them.
- 21:17Tried our best not to not to do what the Russians did when the Russians took over Germany.
- 21:22They raped over two million women as uh wartime retributions.
- 21:27But do we have a Nazi Germany anymore?
- 21:31Do we have an Imperial Japan anymore?
- 21:33Okay.
- 21:34So, President President Stubb, what is the liberal world order to you?
- 21:41If you are part of Europe, what part do you plan on defending?
- 21:47What do you as Finland produce?
- 21:50What energy are you mining?
- 21:54You're gonna help the Norwegians?
- 21:56You're gonna help them uh that they're about the only ones who do fossil fuels.
- 22:01Are you ready to share your electrical grid?
- 22:04Um and hand it over to make your prices higher to be part of the EU because the EU believes environmentalism.
- 22:11The EU believes in emissions and scope, even scope one, two, and three emissions and carbon trading systems.
- 22:19Are you willing to do that?
- 22:24He published a piece, and uh Andrew talks about it in foreign affairs called the West Last Chance.
- 22:32How to build a new global order before it's too late.
- 22:36His takeaway is that he divides the world into the U.S.
- 22:39led global West, the Chinese-led global east, which I would agree, and the global south.
- 22:47Um, but now he believes that with under Donald Trump, since the U.S.
- 22:52captured Maduro and the decision to spark the third Gulf War that we're probably seeing, he says, not a rupture, but a rift in the transatlantic partnership.
- 23:02What is he what is he even talking about?
- 23:08One of the reasons I've named this show geopower energy and real politics is because the three feed on each other, but I made energy the linchpin.
- 23:18Energy is not uh geopower and real politics are connected to energy.
- 23:23Energy is in the middle.
- 23:25Again, he says the global north takes the role of defending the liberal world order, whereas the global west becomes the U.S.
- 23:36that is more transactional.
- 23:39The British said they cannot even send a destroyer or even a frigate recently to the Middle East because they couldn't support it.
- 23:49What is he talking about?
- 23:51Who does he think is going to defend the liberal world order?
- 23:56Is it the Finns?
- 23:58Are you going to put together a blue water navy that can defend the Arctic from the Russians and the Chinese?
- 24:04Are the Europeans going to put together um entire divisions of a standing an army?
- 24:12Two million, five million?
- 24:14Are you going to put together uh entire uh aircraft carrier fleets and everything that's involved?
- 24:21Are you going to put together a missile defense system?
- 24:24Are you going to host or do your own uh nuclear weapons?
- 24:28The British have roughly 75,000 people in an army.
- 24:33They can't even send they don't have a working aircraft carrier.
- 24:38They can't even support a destroyer.
- 24:40The British have allowed themselves to be invaded by radical military age Muslims because they believe in the great reset and they want to get rid of white people because they're billionaire liberal globalists.
- 24:54And so they believe, oh, if we get rid of everybody and bring in these radical people, uh, it will lead to chaos, which will lead to collapse, which will lead to control by the labor party.
- 25:05Because we believe in global warming, and we think by importing uh military age men from North Africa and the Middle East that that's the best way to fight global warming and to have a stable society.
- 25:17The the British are done.
- 25:20There's parts of France you can't even go into anymore.
- 25:24Go travel around Europe and see this mass immigration, and we don't believe in marriage and we believe in transgenderism and homosexuality, and we just want to be left alone, and we're here to have a good time and have a good day.
- 25:40Leave us alone.
- 25:43Well, I I've got I've got a president saying we defend the liberal world order.
- 25:53Of course, he didn't elaborate any further.
- 25:56Um he may try to it talks about separating the EU from the US with respect to how the global South perceives the West as a whole.
- 26:08Um, uh a Singapore diplomat had talked about recently, he said the jerk in foreign affairs, he goes, the dream palace of the West, why the old world order is gone for good.
- 26:23It I I have a hard time even getting words out right now because you go, tell me what you mean by this, President Stubb.
- 26:35What you have with Europeans, they talk such a big game.
- 26:39You don't have manufacturing, your chemical industry is leaving, your automobile industry is crashing.
- 26:46You believed in EVs because again, you believe in global warming.
- 26:50You guys are a vapid nothing.
- 26:54The Europeans are nothing.
- 26:58You have nothing, you are nothing, you can't defend yourself.
- 27:02There's a reason that uh one of your top leaders called Trump daddy a year ago.
- 27:09There's a reason you are the United States' vassal, and quite honestly, you're probably the Chinese is one as well.
- 27:16Does anybody think these feckless women that they put into place are gonna go up against a bunch of men?
- 27:24You may think that's sexist.
- 27:25Welcome to how the world really works.

- 29:04I am Todd Royal, your host of Geopower, Energy and Real Politics.
- 29:09And we were talking about what the EU does when you have an Ursula Vanderlei or the woman who's in charge of their foreign affairs, and you go talk to somebody, you know, you sneer at Vladimir Putin, and we're going to take you on.
- 29:28No, you're not.
- 29:30You're not.
- 29:32The best thing the Europeans have going for them is that the Ukrainians are pretty hardened fighters now.
- 29:39The best thing you have going for you is that you can get US LNG.
- 29:46Don't be surprised if the Europeans freeze to death.
- 29:56And to Mr.
- 29:56Corybak uh Korbaco, he writes this.
- 30:01He goes, the problem is that the EU isn't powerful, influential, nor wealthy enough to convince the global South to abandon multipolarity and restore the liberal war world order instead of opting for China, China's model of multipolarity or whatever one describes the U.S.'s model as under Trump 2.0.
- 30:22There's no European army to coerce reluctant states.
- 30:26The EU's soft power pales behind the U.S.'s, Russia's, China's, and even middle powers like Turkey's, and I'd even add India.
- 30:36And managing the global energy crisis will remain the EU's fiscal priority for a while.
- 30:44Sure.
- 30:45Stubb, President Stubb is correct in different differentiating how the US and the EU look at global affairs right now.
- 30:56Maybe it leads to friction.
- 31:00But what does Frederick Mertz think he's going to do in Germany if we decide to not sell them LNG?
- 31:11What's interesting recently, German Chancellor Frederick Mertz, he said about this third Gulf War that the third Gulf War and quotes is not our war.
- 31:22Trump, President Trump said, well, Ukraine's not our war.
- 31:26We helped, but Ukraine's not our war, which ominously hints at hanging Ukraine out to dry at the expense of the EU's perceived interest.
- 31:38Sure, President Stubb, you accurately reflected how the how the U.S.
- 31:43and EU are different in geopolitics.
- 31:48But please do not think that you are the U.S.'s equal.
- 31:54You've been a junior partner since the Nazis took you over.
- 32:00What Trump should do is teach you a lesson.
- 32:03Frankly, he should do it with the Chinese and the Russians to make you guys begin to drill for oil, natural gas, burn coal, and begin to get rid of and deport the millions of radical nothingness that you have imported into your countries because all in the name of being liberal globalists who believe in this crap of chaos, collapse, and then we have control.
- 32:36For the Finnish president to talk about this kind of nonsense.
- 32:42What the Strait of Hormuz being closed down shows.
- 32:47Let's talk about how the now how the world really works.
- 32:52A bunch of liberal feminist women who have their rights because it was talked about by probably the Apostle Paul back in the New Testament.
- 33:04And then it came about by the Magna Carta.
- 33:07And then came about by the UN Declaration of Human Rights.
- 33:10Well, that came from Christianity, and then it came from the end of a gun from the allies.
- 33:20The West, and there we're going to put these feminist women up there, the global South, Middle East, the Russians, the Chinese, look at us like you are feckless and you're nothing.
- 33:35You're nothing.
- 33:37We're not going to listen to a bunch of snooty feminist women.
- 33:41Doesn't mean they're not intelligent people.
- 33:43We're just not going to listen to them.
- 33:45That's not how our world works.
- 33:47I would even say to many of the energy analysts out there who I do deeply respect.
- 33:54You talk about not bombing Iran's electrical grid again, right there with you.
- 34:01Don't take out their power plants, their dams, their roads, their bridges, because they can do the same thing to us.
- 34:12Tell me what you think happens when Iran gets a nuclear bomb.
- 34:16Tell me what happens, what you think when they fire that at Israel, and Israel lets off 80 to 200 to them.
- 34:26Israel, I've said this before, I'll say it again.
- 34:39Never again.
- 34:44So stop thinking and stop doing geopolitics is how the world really works.
- 34:53Nobody really wants to talk to Madeline Albright, Hillary Clinton, or Condoleezza Rice.
- 35:02These are men.
- 35:03These are savage, brutal men who will kill anything or anyone that gets in their way.
- 35:10Most of the world works that way.
- 35:32We believe in, well, women should be in positions of power, women should work.
- 35:37The world does not think that way.
- 35:39Not at all.
- 35:40And the world also thinks if you're not using fossil fuels, you're a fool.
- 35:46They don't believe that the Chinese don't believe in wind turbines and solar panel.
- 35:52And any fool he says, well, they're getting a big percentage of their electricity from it.
- 35:58They did it because they could gain a geopolitical advantage and sell it to stupid, stupid Westerners who are too rich and fat to understand better.
- 36:07And then you get these vapid, vapid people for no kings and these ingrates, like the you know, the Walton children who the Walmart heirs, the Rockefellers, and the rest of you know Steve Jobs' widow, these bunch of feminist ingrates who know nothing, and their money actually insulates them from the idiocy of electing someone like a Zoran Mamdami, a radical Muslim whose wife-liked post, talking about his Jewish uh women, children, and babies being raped, cooked, mutilated, and murdered.
- 36:44Go to hell, lady.
- 36:49Folks, what we are witnessing right now in the Strait of Hormuz, and if this thing continues to stay closed, make no mistake.
- 36:57The Iranians have been closing this for years.
- 37:00You could make the case, I don't like Joe Biden as far as I can throw them, but you can make the case under his presidency that a lot of that inflation came because the Houthis, who were supported by the Iranians, were making life very difficult for shipping in the Red Sea.
- 37:18Um, that is one time I will actually defend Joe Biden.
- 37:22And you can make that case.
- 37:24Now, he was feckless because he didn't do anything about it.
- 37:30But understand if you shut down the Red Sea, you can collapse the global economy.
- 37:38Or what you'll really do is look up and go, no one's driving anywhere, flying anywhere, eating out anywhere, using hotels, you know, it's almost a little bit like COVID.
- 37:49Business and commerce comes to a standstill because we just can't, we can't afford it.
- 37:55Um, those business dinners, the new factory, the investments, those things will dry up.
- 38:07If you want to solve the Iranian problem, it can be solved.
- 38:13The Europeans need to get involved.
- 38:16Uh, the South Koreans, the Japanese, even the Chinese.
- 38:24All of you better get involved.
- 38:27And yeah, you're probably gonna need to go kill a couple million Iranians, unfortunately.
- 38:32The ones here in the leadership, the one here, you know, the Irani, you know, revolutionary guard corps, their police force, their standing army, their leaders.
- 38:43World War II proves this can be done.
- 38:46Doesn't mean you like it, doesn't mean you want to do it, but it proves that it can be done.
- 38:54Again, for the EU or the Finnish president to say anything right now, it's maddening.
- 39:04The world runs on fossil fuels, not renewables.
- 39:08There's no such thing really as climate change and global warming as it's as it's been said.
- 39:15If the Iranians continue to keep this closed and we continue to go, it's Donald Trump's fault.
- 39:22You will have significantly higher electric bills, you'll have uh filling up your tank, going out to eat, food, travel, everything will be higher.
- 39:39Please make no mistake.
- 39:41We are really finding out what geopolitics is.
- 39:44And to the end here to the energy analysts out there who you know hate Donald Trump and this is so stupid, and why do we do this?
- 39:53Those are all valid points.
- 39:55And I hear what you're saying.
- 40:00But then would you have done World War II?
- 40:02And someone go, well, the Iranians were not invading the way the Germans were, etc., etc.
- 40:08They don't have to invade anymore.
- 40:10They just have to get a nuclear weapon.
- 40:14Read what they've said.
- 40:19Look up the 12th amon.
- 40:21Look up their ideology.
- 40:24Look up their, let's call them end times belief system.
- 40:34I want to kind of unfortunately continue to bash the Europeans right now because I love Europe and I wish they'd wake up.
- 40:44Oh my God.
- 40:45It just so maddening.
- 40:47And the great Tylach Dashi, T.
- 40:50Ligdashi, I've got to have this guy on the show one day.
- 40:53Um he had a piece out recently called Europe's Hormuz Armageddon.
- 41:03Wow.
- 41:04Europe's Hormuz Armageddon.
- 41:08I wish I could get more mad or more sad, but I love Europe.
- 41:12Been there twice, traveled a decent amount around the, and every part of it's fantastic.
- 41:20The history, the people, the train system, the how it's open at night in many ways, reminds you of New York City, the food, the pastry shops, the coffee, the wine, how they love life, how they celebrate life, how they eat out.
- 41:45I mean, it's you it's all it's it's all absolutely fantastic.
- 41:51Um you really couldn't ask for you you couldn't ask for anything better.
- 42:01So it's why it's so deeply bothers me that what the Europeans are doing right now.
- 42:09And he really does, he really does say it best.
- 42:13Um does, he goes, European political and intellectual elites have spent the past few decades pushing the risk of imminent climate Armageddon.
- 42:24Folks, I've said this before, and I will say it again.
- 42:27Anyone who's preaching this crap, whether it's hockey stick theories or you can get all your electricity from renewables, they're ideologues.
- 42:37They're just like the Iranian mullahs, but they their ideology of choice is anti-humanism in the form of energy.
- 42:46There is not a climate Armageddon.
- 42:50And he writes this.
- 42:51He goes, some of us can still picture the young Joshka Fisher, a leftist of the Greens party.
- 42:59Surprising, who took the oath of office as environment minister in the German state of Hesse wearing sneakers and jeans in 1985.
- 43:09He then says, since then, in the name of Gaia, the Greek goddess of Earth, they have bludgeoned their citizens and straitjacketed their once mighty corporate titans that dominated the global chemical automotive and precision engineering industries through most of the 19th and 20th centuries.
- 43:29But Germany's and the EU, you know, Germany's Inger Wendy and the EU's Green New Deal and the UK's climate change act, unleashed punitive green mandates and carbon taxes.
- 43:43Add in the Obama and Biden administration, Democrats, joined Brussels in setting virtuous examples of climate leadership, a defining criterion of energy policy in Western Europe and the U.S., with the significant exception of President Trump's two administrations.
- 44:04China, India, and Russia, and others in the global south went along with the virtuous ride, but only so far as necessary to benefit from the promise of climate finance and reparations.
- 44:16He talks about he says, the Western alliance bet on the wrong God.
- 44:21It's not Gaia, but Neptune, the Roman god of the seas that threatens Western Europe with Armageddon right now.
- 44:29Europe's civil civilizational threat is not from a climate crisis.
- 44:34It's not from your transactional, and we believe in the global liberal-led order.
- 44:39No, that's the United States gave you that, by the way.
- 44:42But from a crisis in supplies of essential fossil fuels and collateral collateral products of David Blackman, I referenced in the first hour or the first part of the show, such as fertilizers shipped through the Strait of Hormuz, the very commodities demonized by the Gaia climate cult.
- 45:10He goes, to be fair, it's not Neptune causing these tempest for wind-sailed boats that is at fault.
- 45:17But once Mars, the god of war invokes his passions over Neptune's domain, it behooves the Europeans to pay attention and understand maritime choke points and physical geography.
- 45:34One of the things that I'm very happy about, grateful towards, is my degree from Pepperdine University School of Public Policy.
- 45:47Outside of my children in my marriage, I'm probably the most grateful for that school.
- 45:53I'm grateful to have a master's in public policies.
- 45:56I have a double major in international relations and state and local government.
- 46:00I did my master's thesis on fracking.
- 46:03As I was told many moons ago, I passed peer reviewed, and I'm in the U.S.
- 46:08Library of Congress, though I've never checked.
- 46:12But what I really did was my international relations degree.
- 46:16And I took what was called the war track and I learned about geopolitic and war from some of the best in the business.
- 46:24Doctors, Robert Kaufman, Victor Davis Hanson, and James J.
- 46:31Coyle.
- 46:33And they all really taught us the reality of war and geopolitics.
- 46:38I call the show geopower.
- 46:41Because geopolitics is it was really explained to me, it's it, it's talking about self-interest rightly understood.
- 46:50I believe that comes from Aquinas, Thomas Aquinas.
- 46:54People have a self-interest.
- 46:57I have Maslov's hierarchy of needs as most people's self-interest.
- 47:02I need to be fed, clothed, housing, and I'll talk.
- 47:05I'd even tell you you have a spiritual need.
- 47:07Some people call it a God-shaped vacuum, or I want to worship something.
- 47:12Am I going to worship Jesus or am I going to worship demonic influences that come from other religions?
- 47:18If you want to believe what Paul said, I do.
- 47:21The Apostle Paul about other religions.
- 47:28But when you think about geopolitics, self-interest rightly understood.
- 47:34Nations have an interest.
- 47:38The Iranians have an interest.
- 47:41They have an ideology.
- 47:48What are those?
- 47:51The Americans, the Japanese, the Australians, the Chinese.
- 47:56You can make an argument of the best in the world right now in geopolitics outside of Donald Trump.
- 48:02A self-interest, a transaction, as the Finnish president so stupidly says.
- 48:10That the U.S.
- 48:11is transactional.
- 48:12What does he think China and Russia are?
- 48:14What does he think the Finns are?
- 48:17Everybody's transactional.
- 48:18We've just been agreeing to this liberal-led order for the last 80 plus years because we were blowing the hell out of each other in World War II.
- 48:26But even that, that's transactional.
- 48:29We're trying to interconnect everybody.
- 48:32So we, if we're all making money together, we won't butcher one another the way we did in two world wars in less than 30 years.
- 48:43But for the Europeans to lecture anybody, for the world to not understand what is going on right now.
- 49:02The argument goes is the world's most critical energy choke point.
- 49:07It carries one-fifth of the global oil and liquid natural gas and delivers those cargoes from the Middle East producers to mainly Asia with some smaller volumes, though they were increasing to Europe, the US, and the rest of the world.
- 49:31Iranian officials, they've they've made these threats about the security of shipping.
- 49:36But sure, the government's never actually attempted to close the straits.
- 49:41But it's being blockaded.
- 49:48So think about this.
- 50:01When Qatar's Ross Lafon plant, the world's largest gas liquid liquid liquefaction plant was hit.
- 50:17What do you think really happened?
- 50:22What's that to what really happened?
- 50:28The Europeans have nothing.
- 50:31Asia is now scrambling.
- 50:34But when you allow these problems to fester, hey, we're living the good life.
- 50:39We're Europe.
- 50:40We're living the good life.
- 50:42Hey, we're the Chinese and the Indians, man.
- 50:44We're just trying to feed a billion people or more.
- 50:47Okay.
- 50:50We're Bangladesh.
- 50:51We're Vietnam.
- 50:52We're just trying to uh keep out the sex traffickers and again feed each other water and see if we've got some clothes and somewhere to live.
- 51:01Philippines the same way.
- 51:02The global south's going, we just want electricity.
- 51:07But all of this is allowed to happen.
- 51:10All of this nonsense has been allowed through these choke points.
- 51:25Even the Europeans that are rich, people are going to face devastation over this.
- 51:31And people could say, and maybe rightfully so.
- 51:35President Trump.
- 51:40Why did you follow the Israelis into doing this?
- 51:46The answer I'm going to give you is energy.
- 51:51You could not allow the Chinese to have a foothold in the Middle East.
- 51:59By any measurable output, the Chinese are much more powerful than the than the Nazi, the Nazi armies and the Imperial Japanese armies, navies, and air forces combined.
- 52:15More people, greater economic reach.
- 52:19About the only thing you really have on the Chinese right now is they don't make enough of their own oil.
- 52:27Which is really surprising because they put out a lot of petroleum engineers every year, thousands of them.
- 52:36They've not been able to figure out fracking technology.
- 52:40Don't be shocked too because of this.
- 52:42If you don't start seeing Chinese spies trying to steal uh fracking trade secrets from the likes of independent oil and gas producers, Chevron, Conico Phillips, Valero, etc.
- 52:55ExxonMobil.
- 53:00That's really the only choke point the Chinese have right now.
- 53:07So when you when you truly, truly, truly think about this.
- 53:14What you have now is here's what you really have.
- 53:19If this continues, the impact's going to fall on the poor developing countries.
- 53:25They're going to go back into poverty.
- 53:27They're not going to have energy, food prices are going to soar.
- 53:31In the developed world, Western Europe, the UK, these people have these, you know, they're deindustrializing because of their global warming policies.
- 53:41They have high energy prices.
- 53:43They have deficit financing to all the Muslims they've let in and others.
- 53:49So they have these high social welfare states.
- 53:54The Europeans have burned literally their energy bridges with Russia.
- 54:00They're now going to have to compete with rich Asian countries, such as Japan and South Korea for spot LNG cargoes.
- 54:28And you're going to recycle those petrol dollars into U.S.
- 54:31treasuries.
- 54:39But now what we're seeing is a complete collapse of all of this.
- 54:45You hear people talk about the petroleum.
- 54:56What I would tell you, welcome to geopolitics.
- 55:02So any energy analyst who goes, don't bomb Iran, don't hit their electrical grid, you do realize that the Russians have been hitting the Ukrainian electrical grid, but if the Russians really wanted to put that country into blackout, they could do it.
- 55:16And don't be shocked if they do it soon.
- 55:21When you think of geopolitics, think of geopower.
- 55:25And that power comes from energy, and the world we all live under was put forth from the Bretton Woods Agreement, and that thing has been backed by the petrodollar the entire time.
- 55:36It has been backed by oil.
- 55:39Oil is in everything.
- 55:42You're never getting rid of oil.
- 55:46I advocate all the time, build nuclear power plants for electricity and for all sorts of all sorts of industrial processes, steel, chemicals, petrochemicals, steam, process heat, district heat, desalinization, hydrogen production, use nuclear.
- 56:07But oil isn't going anywhere.
- 56:09So what you better begin to do, if you're the Europeans and you're the rest of the world, you better get all of those products out of the Middle East.
- 56:16You better put other ways for them to get to the world outside of the Red Sea and the Strait of Ormoose.
- 56:23You better also realize that the world is coming after everybody.
- 56:31And stop thinking that if we're all equal, we'll all get along with each other.
- 56:40Doesn't work that way.
- 56:42Most people understand power, and that's truly power of money.
- 56:46That's what they really understand.
- 56:48And all of that is backed by energy.
- 56:53I'm the host of Geopower, Energy and Real Politic.
- 56:58And I just want to say thank you very much and God bless you.
