- 1:15Bundy, Hello, Jordan, the Anti Trife Equation, Captain Colebrew,
- 1:19Wally west Side, Serie, Allen Blurt Bit aka trash Point. Okay,
- 1:30even though you know look that that now people are gonna be like, oh
- 1:33he hating, you know, actually that is not how I feel about this.
- 1:37But as you can tell by my DC influence names, you will be
- 1:41talking about the Flash alongside my amazing in all white co host, Hey Tatiana
- 1:49King aka d Grant as the techk A flex Luthor aka Queen of the Amazon
- 1:53Prime Suspicion aka glorillok Rod, And we are here to talk the Flash movie,
- 2:02by the way to I know, thank you, Ben, I mean
- 2:05for that Glorial Lagrod aka that shit is hot fire. You're very welcome,
- 2:08very well. I couldn't using myself, so I had to pass that one
- 2:12along, you know what I mean. So, yes, and we are
- 2:15back to the Struss D Flash Flashpoint. It's still called the flash flash Point,
- 2:21right. I don't know if the ellipses is there anymore. Like everywhere
- 2:24I've seen it, they've just been calling it the flash flash. Yeah,
- 2:27I'm not sure. It's just the flash now, just the flash. Wow.
- 2:31That's interesting that they just dropped a flashpoint from it, did they?
- 2:35I don't know. I don't know if the flashpoint was any was ever there
- 2:38in the title. We all know though that this is based on the Flashpoint
- 2:40story. But yes, directed by mister Muchetti is a Greguchet and Andy Andy
- 2:50Muchetti, Andy Muchetti, directed, written by written by Christina Hodson and Joby
- 2:55Harold. Also we thought that was cool because we found out that this was
- 3:00one of the producers is Andy's sister. My name is Barbara Michetti. Little
- 3:06nepotism going on. Love it, Love to see it, Love to see
- 3:08it, folks. And this is the highly anticipated Flash movie. You know,
- 3:15there's been a lot said about the movie as well as its lead star
- 3:20in the lead up. Plus during the production and release of this movie,
- 3:24you know, James Dunn and his boy got hired to run DC. So
- 3:28everything that was involved with this is basically out now in a way because James
- 3:32Dunn is in and it remains to be seen what will be left behind.
- 3:37While before this was trying to be a reboot for basically the Snyder verse,
- 3:40and now it's like no more Snyder at all, obviously because he's going on
- 3:45to work for Netflix, and now this is the James Dunn verse. So
- 3:47it's a reboot into the James Dunn world of DC. Yeah. I what
- 3:53I found interesting that in the lead up to this film being out, like
- 3:57I was say in the last thirteen months or so, I was one of
- 4:00the loud people saying, how could y'all stick by and say that you're gonna
- 4:04continue to release this film, right, especially all the bullshit that has happened
- 4:10because of Ezra Miller And how could they continue to support this obvious or I
- 4:19guess legally you gotta stay alleged abuser, but um, I you know,
- 4:24I just wasn't working with that, right, I wasn't jacking that at all.
- 4:27And I just felt like, especially in the last few months with everything
- 4:30crumbling down in terms of what was already on the slate for DC, with
- 4:34the whole you know, the rapture that happened there, like the stuff that
- 4:38they was pulling the plug on. I'm like, yeah, pulling the plug
- 4:41on this ship, but not on this How could you and something? And
- 4:46remember I remember there being tibits like no, it's too damn good, it's
- 4:48too good, it's too good, we can't pull And I was just like,
- 4:51yo, what executive did, Like what is this movie? What is
- 4:55so goddamn good about this movie that they convinced executives like, Nah, despite
- 4:59all to shit, this gotta go up. And then we saw it yea.
- 5:03At the very beginning of the movie, Andy and his sister had a
- 5:08quick words basically thanking everybody for watching it, and they made a note that
- 5:12what we saw today or that day, which is what made twenty second at
- 5:16the time, I don't know when you guys are gonna listen to us.
- 5:18What we saw was not gonna be the final cut of the movie when it
- 5:23releases wide in June sixteenths. From what we know, there's maybe a ten
- 5:29minute different or twenty minute difference between the full fledge everything right, everything I
- 5:34was shot for this versus the cut that we saw. I don't believe there's
- 5:39gonna be a fundamental difference between what y'all see and what we see. We
- 5:42think it's more so like they're going to clean up effects. They're gonna clean
- 5:46up maybe sound different things here and there, maybe they'll add in something the
- 5:50ending, you know, extra credit. There's probably gonna be a before and
- 5:54after credit scene. We had no before or after credit scene. We literally
- 5:57just got the the Imax logo and that was that. But yes, we
- 6:00did see it in Imax, so we had the big the big boy screen
- 6:02and all that. So yeah, I just want to make that caveat what
- 6:04we are talking about. Hopefully nothing that we say doesn't just magically disappear by
- 6:09the time you guys see it. But yeah, let you know that I
- 6:13doubt it. I've heard word. I know that at one point the movie
- 6:15was supposed to be two hours and forty minutes, and the one we saw
- 6:18it was like two hours and twenty two minutes or so, So there was
- 6:23definitely that change. But from what I've seen online on Reddit and everything,
- 6:27and if you want to avoid full spoilers, do not go to places like
- 6:30that, because people have posted the entire plot and from what I've seen,
- 6:33most seen the same version that we saw last night, So up to this
- 6:40point that I hadn't have been any major changes. I do expect, like
- 6:42you said, there'd be one or two extra credit scenes, and they'd probably
- 6:46be pretty impactful, and that's why they were holding them off. Potentially absolutely
- 6:48yep yep, yep, yep, yep yep. That being said, like
- 6:53you said, I felt the same way. I you know, I had
- 6:56my misdievings and in fact, just I mean, as Ezra Player, ain't
- 7:00the flash I thought in both Justice League and in Zach Cider's Justice League.
- 7:03He was wildly annoying, and they were wildly annoying. And I did not
- 7:08find Ezra to be in the central part of the puzzle or where I was
- 7:12even hype for this version of the Flash. I was a big fan of
- 7:15Grant Gustin on the TV show, so that was always my Flash. And
- 7:20I didn't really get, you know, Ezra's take. I felt like it
- 7:26was a Tom Holland esque take on the Flash on Barry Allen, you know,
- 7:30a Peter Parker as take, and that was weird because that's not Barry's
- 7:35character at all, you know, and even in this film, this ain't
- 7:39Barry at all, you know, Like I Steel, like you Ben,
- 7:43I mean where I think Grant Grant had largely been my Flash, regardless of
- 7:48what they was doing in the cinematic universe. He's been the Flash. He's
- 7:51been the standard bearer for me. And I was also very big on the
- 7:56CW Show, so that was That's what I was always judging portrayals off of,
- 8:01at least from the modern times, right, And I'm not gonna hold
- 8:05you and I'm not gonna pull punches. I do not like Ezra Miller.
- 8:11I'm not sure if I really do either. And it's really funny because like,
- 8:15and I don't mean, I don't mean his just excuse me, their
- 8:18version of the Flash. I mean as the person. Yeah, I feel
- 8:22a person as a person. From what I've heard of, it does not
- 8:24seem like someone I would really kick it with either, and their portrayal I
- 8:30really am not very impressed with. And it is interesting though, because Brent
- 8:33Gustin for years did a Barry Allen that was more like Wally West, and
- 8:39now Ezra is doing a Barry Allen that's more like It's like I said,
- 8:46yeah, I don't know what the fuck, it's not like Wally. I'm
- 8:50not sure it's it's just a different categorization and different expression towards it. And
- 8:54when they were first introduced as the Flash, and again I made my statement
- 8:58about the person as the character, I don't like that portrayal of the character
- 9:03because it just didn't. It wasn't even with Grant's version of Flash. Yes,
- 9:07there were nuances and difference in what I grew up with, which is
- 9:11the cartoons, right, the Justice League limiteds and things like that. Okay,
- 9:16fine, that that that's that's the Flash. To me, that's always
- 9:20Flash to me, and then when Grant came along, I'm all right,
- 9:22cool, I could I still I'm still feeling you. You're still in the
- 9:24same You're still in the same category. You're still in the same lane,
- 9:28right the categories cars. You know, there goes to Bentley and there goes
- 9:31the Beam and all right, you're still there. Their hair comes this fucking
- 9:35Corolla and I'm just like, yeah, that ain't it. And I just
- 9:39and I will say that I and I'm not sure if you want to people
- 9:45listening, if you want to call that a bias, you want to call
- 9:46that just whatever it is. I just didn't, never, never, ever
- 9:50like that this portrayal of Barry Allen. And I didn't like this version of
- 9:56the Flash in the other DC movies at all. I've always something about him
- 10:01just punchable and bothering me. So that and and then that is that shaped
- 10:07my view of the character itself, not of the overall movie, even though
- 10:11it is ninety percent him. Um, I did look at the movie with
- 10:15fairness and balance. And what was your overall takeaway with this, Mines?
- 10:20Was this was a fire movie? Mines, was this was a pretty solid
- 10:26movie, Like I thought, you know, it's if you go into it
- 10:30without any of the caveats. And let's say, if you're just a general
- 10:33superhero fan, like I'm someone who the Flash is one of my favorite DC
- 10:37characters, and especially, like you said, Wally West, because when I
- 10:41grew up, Wally West was the Flash. Barry Allen was dead. I
- 10:43didn't give a shit. I never gave a shit about none of them old
- 10:46school DC cats, you know. So I was like, Oh, this
- 10:48the new dude. You know, he's young, he's hip. I fuck
- 10:50with Wally. He getting shorties, you know, he's getting money, and
- 10:54he the Flash. I'm fucking with this. So I fucked with the Flash.
- 10:56Then I loved Wally West, so I love the League as well.
- 11:01And then I even loved Grants because he seemed more like Wally than Barry,
- 11:05and I never liked Barry. And then Ezra comes along, you said,
- 11:07and it's doing some of a wild thing that I just don't even know which
- 11:11dude this is. I didn't understand the point like it was, and it's
- 11:13annoying. It's more he should have been on Bart, he should have been
- 11:16the kid from the future. Bart is Barry's grandson who plays who becomes impulse
- 11:22from the future, okay, because he's that extra hype want you know,
- 11:26can't stop talking. I can't. I can't. And that's bart that just
- 11:31because to me it is like almost like overacting, right, Like I can
- 11:35see and feel that the irritation and it is bothering me, like is aggravating
- 11:41me. And I will say that just too meant much dopes, like too
- 11:46big of a dose of this version of Barry aggravates me. Yeah, But
- 11:50that being said, I still enjoy the film, I know, And that's
- 11:52what. Yeah, that's why I was getting too if you go into this
- 11:56without the end of that, if you're just like, yo, let me
- 11:56go see a dope super aero from this hits on every level. Yes,
- 12:01you know action visually, I mean from the jump the way and since we've
- 12:05had years of various like CGI and just also use of flashes powers on TV,
- 12:13I was wondering. And plus you had Quicksilver doing his damn thing in
- 12:16the X Men movies, so I was very wondering how they're can pull it
- 12:20off and make it different. I wonder do you would you think now seeing
- 12:24what you saw, do you think they've risen to the Quicksilver level of portraying
- 12:28a speedster because the Summer was the epitome of that. It's same cinematically,
- 12:35Yeah, it's same, but different. I guess it's one way of looking
- 12:39at it because it's kind of the same thing like that, especially the opening
- 12:43sequence, which I found was incredible, which it's also a variation on how
- 12:46Quitsilver was portrayed, so it's you know, but I also thought it was
- 12:52incredible because of the use of action and the way the sequence of filmed the
- 12:56shot, and there were some new approaches. Yes, his initial versus speed
- 13:01you know, running across the country that ship was crazy. I thought it
- 13:03was just sick. Oh, there's a lot of dope action in the film,
- 13:07you know. I thought, like, I love Supergirl, you know,
- 13:11I loved this version of her. I want to see more of her.
- 13:16I thought she was awesome. I thought the way she was portrayed,
- 13:18her fight sequences, everything was dope. Michael Keaton, I mean it goes
- 13:22in. I was saying, like, as far as acting, Michael Keaton,
- 13:26is that dude, you know what I mean? So when he shows
- 13:28up, I immediately believe that he's this older Bruce Wayne who's tired of it,
- 13:33dude, don't give a shit no more and has to be drawn back
- 13:35into the fight. I loved it. I also found they utterly ridiculous at
- 13:41times because it's like Michaelghan like, I didn't know you so little, you
- 13:46know, like he looked so tidy in the batsuit sometimes, and then that
- 13:50plays out in the film as well, and I found that hilarious that they
- 13:54addressed that, you know, Like that was the one thing I really liked
- 13:56about the writing. It's like they not only did they address like how annoying
- 14:00Ezra is as the flash, they addressed just a lot of things like Michael
- 14:05Keaton, you knows Batman trying himself against Kryptonians. It ain't gonna end out
- 14:11that well, fam you know, this is not a good look, and
- 14:16that was addressed over and over again. Yeah, just continuing on the path
- 14:20of just overall feelings like this. This movie generally speaking had great pacing there.
- 14:28It was some imaginative views of the speed force and and this version of
- 14:33being a speeder right, And like I said, this, DC really rose
- 14:37to the occasion on this one, And after seeing the film, I now
- 14:41completely understand why they were, like there's no fucking way we can scrap this
- 14:45for the obvious universe reset reasons, but also just from a story perspective.
- 14:50Yeah, yes, money too, but from a deeper, more deeper a
- 14:56story perspective. There's a lot of people who showed, yeah, the story
- 15:01perspective, the writing, and in the cast as well, minus Ezra Miller.
- 15:09So you mentioned Supergirl. Supergirl was let me tell you when when people
- 15:18someone asked me on Twitter, like a few weeks back, they were like,
- 15:20what are you looking forward to? And I said, honestly, I
- 15:22don't care about nothing else but Supergirl too, and they fucking gave me everything.
- 15:28Like she served like this is what I wanted to fucking see when I
- 15:33said, like, I just wanted to see first all. I don't want
- 15:35to see fucking Superman anymore. Get him the fuck out of here right now,
- 15:37especially because Henry gone fuck out of here right now. I don't want
- 15:41to I mind thinking about you right now. I want to do some new
- 15:43new I've always said that, like, can we please move on to somebody
- 15:46else that we haven't pushed hard enough at all? Sasha Callie, and I
- 15:52hope I'm pronounced her last name right, Sasha. Yeah, Sasha Fish,
- 15:56you fucking did that. The she was just an incredible She was incredible in
- 16:00this the way she portrayed that character. Her physicality for this character, that's
- 16:06it. And then that's the thing that people see her and they see like
- 16:07somebody who who looks petite and not not very like much whoever, No,
- 16:12she got that physicality down. She has the acting down. She wasn't acting,
- 16:18she wasn't overacting, she wasn't she wasn't annoying, none of that shit.
- 16:21Like you was like, holy shit, I want to see more of
- 16:23her. And I had got that feeling when I was watching the trailers,
- 16:27so then to be in the movie and finally see her and see her interact
- 16:32with the others and and and doing the doing the acting, I was like,
- 16:36all right, I'm working with it. I hope we see more of
- 16:40her in the future. Yeah. And it's interesting because I saw a lot
- 16:44like comparisons of course you're gonna diep this to how the Man of Steals action
- 16:48was and how it was portrayed, and it was definitely more brutal, like
- 16:52when they're punching people. Yeah, I mean when the man is still you
- 16:56know, when the Catonius punched people, they exploded. You know you're not
- 17:00gonna get that in this This is absolutely toned down. But when she punches
- 17:03people, you know they go flying. It's obviously they're dead, and it's
- 17:07toned down from exploding on impact, but it's still not toned down, Like
- 17:12it's still the the the beyond God powers that you should be seeing, like
- 17:18when someone when you get punched, you're getting punched two miles away, Like
- 17:21it's more so. What what I liked what DC started doing is leaning into
- 17:27the Injustice game and how that portrayed fights and finishers and things like this,
- 17:33Like you see that style of fighting is has been incorporated more into the cinematic
- 17:37universe, and you see that big time in the Flash. I mean like
- 17:41stupid wild shit like you know that dump, like that wild ship Superman taking
- 17:45somebody else to the fucking atmosphere and fucking pile driving them down to the ground.
- 17:48Like that level of brutality. You get to see some of that was
- 17:53there, like a wild shot at the Snyder verse at one point when like
- 17:56the Flash, did he say that, like are you to see this done
- 18:00in slow mo? At one point when when Superman is whooping ass or Cryptonians
- 18:04for whooping ass or something. I like a lot of like subs in that
- 18:07movie period Ye strays like it's a lot and it's like if you're not really
- 18:14listening. And also it was it was subby enough where you couldn't one hundred
- 18:18percent like you can kind of guess what they were talking about, but you
- 18:22couldn't like one hundred percent verify that that's what they were Yeah. Yeah,
- 18:26well again, well written, I guess because if I one hundred percent tell,
- 18:29then you know you did what you needed to do. No, that's
- 18:32something like okay, Now, as far as does any of the time travel
- 18:34stuff hold up, it's this like an iconic like Back to the Future or
- 18:38the first two Time Terminators. I don't think so. I think they intentionally
- 18:44get away from that right away and be like this is like as in,
- 18:48uh, the good place this is you know, Timey is trying to wavy
- 18:52and stream theory and all over the place in here, so we don't have
- 18:55to worry about keeping strict timelines or you know, what happens in this world
- 19:00that world. Then they ain't give any shit about that. It's more like
- 19:03this offense everything. You know, we're just going crazy. So but once
- 19:07getting back before we get into the too deep specific, Yeah, Michael was
- 19:15fantastic. Yeah, and overall I really really enjoyed it. It's something that
- 19:18I want to see again. And just like Guardians to the Gallaty three,
- 19:22when I walked out of it, I was like, Okay, that was
- 19:23pretty good. Like I really thought I was dope. And then when I
- 19:26got home and I was thinking more about I was like, oh, man,
- 19:29like I really appreciated this is something a little bit. It's like the
- 19:32writing that how they showed how the two flashes worlds are different, just the
- 19:37little things about pop culture. And then a lot of the lines that the
- 19:42second Flash from the other world was making was we're really like you had to
- 19:48be like you said, there was something you got to think about. Like
- 19:49he made a hip hop reference at one point in the movie that was really
- 19:53ill and wrong to us. It was wrong, like wrong lingo, like
- 19:57like people like you trying to say, but you know where it came from.
- 20:02Yeah, and it worked because it's because of that world. That world
- 20:04is different. It was like somebody confusing you know, this group making this
- 20:08song, but in that world, that group did make that song. I
- 20:12get this, you know. So it was it was a little cute stuff
- 20:15like that throughout the film and so I really appreciated that. Back to the
- 20:19action that was Thope, Michael Keaton, Sasha was incredible. Um, Ben
- 20:23affleck was back as bat Fled We know that too. Yeah. Where there's
- 20:27a lot of cameos and I don't want to mention too many of the ones,
- 20:32you know in this general part at least who show up, you know,
- 20:36but there's a lot, but Ben Affleck man, that shit just made
- 20:40me hurt. Like Michael Keaton was like cool to see back, but it
- 20:44wasn't like the Vulture for me. I mean, he gonna look like the
- 20:51Vulture because that's Michael Keaton in this age. But Ben Afflett made me hurt
- 20:55that we never got to see the batflt films and I and I'm not gonna
- 20:59hold you you've been. I mean that there's a whole sequence that's Batman unfiltered,
- 21:04and I was like, oh, to myself, this is the Batman
- 21:10I've always wanted to see beyond this and this is separate from the Nolan film
- 21:12because I think version of Batman, which is which is beautiful as the psysult
- 21:17is this thought. But this version of Batman is what I've been wanting to
- 21:21see. All of the aspects. Remember I told you stuff like Injustice stuff
- 21:26like you know when Arkham the Art Justice League Unlimited. Yes, the Arkham
- 21:32games, Arkham Asylum games like everything you you grew to love, I say,
- 21:37And in the pop culture last within the last twenty Batman the animated series,
- 21:42like sure, yeah, but I'm just staying just in terms of the
- 21:45modernization of it, that's been the last okay, fifteen years, but the
- 21:48modernization of Batman, this was it and it's still held true to the innercore
- 21:57of Backham values, right yeah, I mean honestly, I was. I
- 22:02was floored by the portrayal of this version of Batman. And I don't know
- 22:07if you want to think Ben Affleck for that. I don't all you want
- 22:08to think the CGI for that, But you got what you came for and
- 22:14right both because Ben just does a great job. Like I thought this from
- 22:18you know, the Snyder verse. I thought Ben was one of the few
- 22:21who did a great job as Bruce and as Batman, like most actors can
- 22:26do one or the other, you know very well. I thought Ben was
- 22:30a great Bruce and a great Batman, and so I always was a fan
- 22:34from the casting. I was screaming Batfleck all the way. So I've I'm
- 22:40disappointed, man, because that like that opening sequence, the opening sequence evolves
- 22:45Ben Affleck and the Flash and some bank robbers, and it's fucking incredible.
- 22:48You know, It's just you see quit bits of it in the trailers,
- 22:52and it does not do it justice. It's incredible. Christian Bell was a
- 22:56good Batman and Bruce Wayan, yes, okay, but I think you said
- 23:00not even gonna pull it off. So who couldn't pull it off? Who
- 23:03are you referring to? Val Kilmer? Well, Val Kimer was, I
- 23:07think he. I think Michael Keaton was interesting, Like I think he really
- 23:11portrayed the weirdness that Bruce Wayne would have to be because it was cartooning.
- 23:17He was, yeah, and he was a little bit off, you know,
- 23:19just touched, but his Batman was more like a little cartoony for men,
- 23:26you know, like for the time, it was amazing, but it
- 23:30also it's not like one of the ones where I'm like, Okay, you
- 23:33know, I like his Bruce more than I like his Batman. I think
- 23:36I don't know. On some days, I like his Batman mon I like
- 23:37his Bruce. You know, I'm just trying to understand because you said like
- 23:41some of them can, yeah, and what's just understandable? So some can't
- 23:42do both? Okay, so who could it? Um, Robert Patterson,
- 23:48I don't even count that. Oh my god, I don't even know that
- 23:52real honestly, like this, this in this movie, this Batman makes you
- 23:56like I already like I just did, forget about what the fuck that was
- 24:00Robert Patterson, Like we're gonna get reminded darker that's coming back, Like like,
- 24:03honestly, honestly, after seeing this film, I don't I mean even
- 24:07more Twilight version of Batman, I do not. I don't want motherfucking Nolan
- 24:17light like we had three movies of Nolan and a Batman who struggles to do
- 24:22anything. I want to see the Batman who is stunting on ingers like he
- 24:26was in the beginning of this film. Yes, yes, so you and
- 24:30I think that's part. That's a big reason why I rated this film so
- 24:34high, because you get the characterizations at least I did that I've been waiting
- 24:38for, Like I felt like it was either holding punches or trying to give
- 24:42me some experimental version of the character, And I'm like, what the fuck
- 24:47is this? Like just fucking go in and modernize the character and you can
- 24:51continue, say to the values, but modernize it right, Like, yeah,
- 24:52I don't even see Batman shooting guns. I don't want to see that.
- 24:56No. I want to see him go in with his ingenuity and his
- 25:00his resourcefulness and all that other ship and have the tech and have the fucking
- 25:11whatever else that makes him him, and also the distrust and the ego and
- 25:15all that other ship. Pull that all together in a big pot and you
- 25:18get what I feel like, it's the best Batman. But that being said,
- 25:22um, they did do. It's a bit of It was interesting how
- 25:25they trying to market this because they're obviously I haven't mentioned it was a big
- 25:29uproar about they releasing this and putting Ezra Miller off the forefront of this is
- 25:33this is flashes film whatever whatever, So they're like, how are you going
- 25:34to market this? Knowing that that nigga's trash. Then they made it seem
- 25:37like, oh, it's mostly about Batman. Remember, there were there's a
- 25:41lot of there were some flyers where it was basically the Batman logo with a
- 25:44little tiny flash lightning boat. This movie's ninety percent to flash. Yeah,
- 25:49it's ninety percent to flash. Yes, there are the Batman stuff that we
- 25:52just said, that's amazing, but this this is really a flash movie.
- 25:56Yeah, Supergirls in it, Batman's in it, both Batman are in it,
- 26:00a lot of other cameos and I mean cameos because you know they are
- 26:04cameos, and then it's flash. Yeah yeah yeah. Um. When you
- 26:10mentioned about how they portrayed like the time travel and they the rules or not,
- 26:14and it's just and I want to say they ignored anything. It was
- 26:17just their version of it. It's like whatever their version of what time travel
- 26:21might happen. Yeah, things happened. But it's also like you you said
- 26:25it, you said everything changes, right you you fuck up? You change
- 26:27or do one thing, everything gets reversed or whatever. This obviously called and
- 26:33not from a comic book perspective, but front of a cinematic perspective, the
- 26:37introduction of the multiverse into the DCU, And it's just interesting the timing of
- 26:42things, you know, with with how where Marvel is like they've already done
- 26:47that intro and they're kind of well on the way and that's part of their
- 26:49what twenty year plan or whatever the fuck how many years that is now at
- 26:53this point, Whereas and to me, it's like Marvel did it because they
- 26:57planned on doing, whereas DC at this point, especially because they greenlit this
- 27:03despite everything they had to they had to. Marvel did because they they wanted
- 27:07to. DC did it because they had to. And I just think that's
- 27:11the main distinction. Um, they are treating it differently. They're treating their
- 27:17multi their versus on what multiverse means, much differently. They are. There's
- 27:21no set rule, I would say, based on this movie, there's no
- 27:23set rule in terms of what characters might look like or act like. It's
- 27:26just like they kind of cherry pick. Whoever they choose is gonna be different,
- 27:30It's gonna be different. Whoever they choose gonna be the same. It's
- 27:32gonna be the same, right, Whereas Marvel is a little bit of some
- 27:36there's a semblance of some rules where like you might have fifty loki's and one
- 27:40of them as an alligator, one of them's black, one of them is
- 27:42this one of them that right to see those rules a sense because then with
- 27:45the Kings, they are all the same, right, the Kings are all
- 27:48the same, but then like for example that like you look at what's if
- 27:51the T'Challa's they all look alike, but maybe they act differently, right that
- 27:53Tachala that was star Lord for example. So it's like certain rules are followed
- 27:59in both you know, universes and then kind of subsequently ignored. But it
- 28:03was kind of very clear with DC, like they're gonna be and for obvious
- 28:06reasons, they're gonna cherry pick who they change and who they don't. Yeah,
- 28:10and also um to put on my nerd glasses for a second, you
- 28:14know, Like I was, we've distressed this before, is that DC was
- 28:17the first people with it. And one issue I took with this and not
- 28:21the fact books. In the common books, they were clearly they had Crisis
- 28:25on Infinite Earth. It's one of their biggest common books of all time,
- 28:29and they've done multiple Crisis series since then, and they've always had Even before
- 28:33Crisis on Infinite Earth, they actually infinited the multiverse concept because they needed a
- 28:37way to explain why they had all these different stories, like why super Boy
- 28:42was in the future with the Justice League but he was also Superman in the
- 28:47present zo. You know, it's like wait, what, And so they
- 28:51needed ways to explain this, so they created Earth one and Earth two and
- 28:53an Earth bree and just on and on and on. So they were the
- 28:56first with it. And but one issue I took with this with flash Point,
- 29:00it feels like they kind of shot their little pause, you know,
- 29:03like a little early because it's like, now they do you mean this movie?
- 29:07Yeah, with this movie, they did not only did they do flash
- 29:10Point, which is a big thing, they also did Crisis on Infinite Earth
- 29:15and like a five seconds span, you know, they like ran through that,
- 29:18which should be its own big thing, and they just kind of like
- 29:22it just happened in a quick sequence in the film. And I will say
- 29:26I will blame that that. This, this is this used to be DCU,
- 29:30And yes, this is still part of the old world going forward,
- 29:33James and Peter Gunn, there's gonna be a plan. Yeah, all right,
- 29:37we'll see what changes then. But that's partly like this is all this
- 29:41is part of the vestiges of not having a fucking plan, yeah, and
- 29:44doing throwing everything at the wall, because that's what happened, like some of
- 29:47this movie is throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks, and a
- 29:52lot of it does manage to sick. And that's big props to Mauchetti,
- 29:56who I'm sure did this under all kinds of dress. I can't imagine.
- 30:03I shout out to you, brother, salute, because I cannot imagine the
- 30:07notes that were given on this movie. Oh my god. Um, they
- 30:12they did. I will say they did simplify the time travel, so I
- 30:18think based versus a lot of films that try to incorporate time travel, they
- 30:22made it more easy for the general public to follow. Um, while they
- 30:26while they expressed all these concepts and things, and that they allowedly threw that
- 30:30shit out Therehen this this could be what time is, and this could be
- 30:33what time is. But but now this is what we're gonna do. Right,
- 30:37And it was very it was very and and this is you know,
- 30:40oxymoronic, but it was very linear and how they made you understand what was
- 30:42happening and towards the end, at least for me anyway, I was able
- 30:47to figure out where they were going with this. Right. And again,
- 30:51if you've seen, if you if you know the story, then you could
- 30:55kind of start making inferences. I think I kind of started getting it right
- 30:57away and then it was like yeah about halfway yeah, I was like,
- 31:02oh okay, that's where this is drowning. I got it right away,
- 31:04not like yeah, hard to predict. Yeah, uh, let's talk why
- 31:08are we talking about that. Let's talk about the effects. Now. We
- 31:12did not see as as they mentioned that caveat they we did not see the
- 31:15final version I hope. So. Uh. The some of the effects look
- 31:21wonky that it looked it looked very very much like CGI like it didn't look
- 31:26like oh, at least for me. There were certain scenes where I was
- 31:29like, that's like blatant, looks like a like a computer generated image.
- 31:33It does it. It's not even trying to look real. No, yeah,
- 31:37okay, that's actually an opening scene that you talked about that. Oh
- 31:40that's not gonna get better, I know, man. So there's some things
- 31:44that do look strange. There are some things that this looks strange, and
- 31:48then also some questionable special effects choices made to let you see certain people in
- 31:53places. I was just oh, yeah, okay, I don't know,
- 31:59and again to say, I don't know if they're gonna fix that in imp
- 32:02in less than a month impossible. But but there are some questionable things.
- 32:08Like you said, there are a lot of cameos in the film, and
- 32:12a lot of the cameos involved people who would not be able to be here.
- 32:15Let's just say that, you know, for multiple reasons, or not
- 32:19be in a film, or look like they look in these films, whether
- 32:23or not they're alive or it. Yeah, I mean it could be one
- 32:29or the other. You know, some people pass away, some people just
- 32:30have changed physically since this time. So there's a lot of use of CGI.
- 32:37And if you've seen Rogue one, when you have people who are not
- 32:40here with us anymore on the physical plane and have them attempt to act through
- 32:45the use of CGI, you know, in the case of Peter Cushing,
- 32:47that's what happened in Rogue one. It's horrific. And you know, we
- 32:52still not gotten and I God willing we never get to that point where it
- 32:55isn't a rific Yeah, but beyond just but like beyond the horriphse just doesn't
- 33:00look good. Like what I'm what I'm talking about is just shit that just
- 33:04didn't look good. Yeah, it's twenty twenty three and this ship don't look
- 33:07good. Bro like Avatars, y'all, and you know, you know how
- 33:10you feel about Avatar. Make sure y'all watched that into that review beating a
- 33:15lot of people, you know, for looks that saying like, yo,
- 33:19I always say that the camera, you will nigga's when it comes to that
- 33:22three D and the graphics. Every time I say Avatar, I think about
- 33:23that. Damn well, it hurts so bad. I was talking about the
- 33:30hurtswin breathe like, but yeah, there were and again I don't know what's
- 33:37good and maybe people won't give a fuck because it is just that energy.
- 33:40Yeah I don't. Yeah, I didn't really like I feel you one hundred
- 33:44percent. And I've seen people already say that. I saw one thread that
- 33:45was jan a lot of you know, like hate because he was saying the
- 33:50truth about what look like. It's the truth. I didn't remind it because
- 33:53that opening sequence is so entertaining to me that Yeah, you know, I
- 33:58was like, oh, that's weird looking, you know. First second,
- 34:00my brain keeps moving because I'm like, Wow, this is awesome, you
- 34:04know, if you're happening a good time. Yes, yeah, And there's
- 34:07a lot of things like that, like where sometimes in the movie, I'm
- 34:09like, man, but then I'm like, well, I'm having such a
- 34:10good time, you know, like, goddamn, every DC movie does not
- 34:15have to have a Jesus moment. You know, at some point your character
- 34:19does not need to be portrayed as Jesus. Thought, like James Dunn.
- 34:22Going forward, we can move on from that, like leave that in the
- 34:25Snyder verse, where you know, Jesus comes up every time because once again
- 34:30they have a come to Jesus moment. In fact, to come to Jesus
- 34:34moment, it's been shown in the trailer. Like I didn't know what was
- 34:37happening in the come to Jesus moment, but I saw it in the trailer
- 34:39and I was like, wow, again, come to Jesus. You know,
- 34:42here we go. It's just an annoying trop Yeah. And then beyond
- 34:45it, in this film alone, it is utterly ridiculous and hilarious and a
- 34:52serious moments at all. No, it's like, what the hell is happening?
- 34:58Why has this happening? I get why this has happen, but this
- 35:00is a madhouse that these people live in, and I guess I also love
- 35:05that. Um Michael Keaton reacts to everything in this film as like the Audience
- 35:08Surrogate where he's like, this is all madhouse, is all nonsense, but
- 35:13I'm here for the ride. I'm enjoying myself so fucking and yeah, and
- 35:17Michael Keaton is basically that guy. He even you know, he explains time
- 35:21travel as fucking enjoy yourself while you're here, you know, And yeah,
- 35:24it works. The music. The score for the film, well, the
- 35:30score, I would say good, right, Like then we saw an imax
- 35:35that the sound was boom stuff. It worked. Some of the music drops,
- 35:42some of the music choices I wasn't a fan of. It actually sounded
- 35:45dated to me. And it's like like a particularly towards pointless. Yeah,
- 35:50but there was a big fight scene towards the end where I'm just like,
- 35:52yeah, music on, like literally the scene was perfect. And then I
- 35:55turned on some fucking music and I'm like why some I guess how some girl
- 36:00empowerment song. I don't know, but I don't know what the fuck it
- 36:01was. But the point is it wasn't necessary and so and as I said,
- 36:07it just felt dated. So again something that may or may not change
- 36:10in the final cut. I don't know. But like and the notes and
- 36:14and I had sat down on Twitter, like I was like, you know,
- 36:15overall this this is the best DC movie of the modern age, and
- 36:20yeah, I just have some low bar, Yes, very low bark.
- 36:23See that's even debatable. Isn't really a one hundred percent low bar? I
- 36:29would say, Yeah, what I'm saying is that's debatable because I really enjoyed
- 36:34two aldge Baard, I enjoyed Suicide Squad, I enjoyed Harley Quinn. Like,
- 36:37yeah, there's element That's why I said I would still say this is
- 36:40better than those. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, And that's why I said
- 36:44medium bar, because yeah there's some there. There are bright spots with clothes
- 36:49man, because I really enjoyed two Agebaud. There were bright spots in the
- 36:52in the former DC EU, and then there were lots of lots of dark
- 36:55spots, and you know, and and so so while. But overall,
- 37:01there wasn't a lot to compete with in terms of having a fantastic movie.
- 37:05That being said, even if you've done in a way with the bar and
- 37:07just look at this in the vacuum of is this entertaining. Yes, it's
- 37:12just a good comic book movie. Yes, yeah, a good superhero movie.
- 37:15Yes, are there fucking gobs of e Striggs. Absolutely. If you
- 37:21are a fan of these characters from age sixty five to seventeen, you're probably
- 37:25going to be entertained here because there's something that's directly related to your generation of
- 37:30that version of the character that they're going to touch on. Yes, So
- 37:35that's probably also why this film is going to make three billion dollars or whatever
- 37:40they wanted to make. Now, I'm wondering because I saw this in Somebody
- 37:44Spread and I feel this one hundred percent. I feel like this movie will
- 37:47make a lot of money, but I'm not sure if it's trying to have
- 37:51like the No Way Home not Nowhere, I's gonna break wild records because there's
- 37:55no good I would say this isn't race like No Way at Homes. Use
- 38:00of nostalgia and use of the older characters who hadn't seen before I mean in
- 38:05a while was much better than this. This, I feel really just breaks
- 38:10down to a lot of remember this person, remember that person, remember this
- 38:14person, look at this, Look how deep is your DC knowledge? You
- 38:17know? And that type of thing. Really quick. It was a lot
- 38:21of fanboyism in this, Yeah, slash, and I will say like there's
- 38:24there was tons of stuff that was before in time, and I was just
- 38:27like, what the fuck are they talking about? Like and like I would
- 38:30ask me like what is that? Or what's going on? And because it
- 38:32was just like really and some of that stuff was super obscure. I mean
- 38:37even things where like if you weren't like constantly on Reddit Inspiders fourteen, you
- 38:43would never know of this, you know, east or egg that they threw
- 38:45in there, and it's like how many That's a small subset of people,
- 38:50right, So it's just like there was just certain there was a lot throughout
- 38:53the movie where like I'll be sitting there and maybe ten people will go oh,
- 38:58and then the rest of the movie the thing to be like whishing each
- 39:00other like what are they're talking about? Then I was the same times where
- 39:02fifty people were like yeah, you know what I'm saying, Like it was
- 39:06just it was all over for about eight I was one of those ten people
- 39:13oh and I yeah, and I and bat he started. I knew he
- 39:15was into it when he when Batamin watches films, and I noticed this when
- 39:20we had screening. If he's into it or it's really trying to pay attention
- 39:22he sits up, stuck in his seat and he leans forward, and I
- 39:25was all in it. Usually like like I always sit back and I'm trying
- 39:30to be comfortable and be able to see the screen as much as I can.
- 39:31I'm only five four. This man sits up and leans and like you
- 39:36know, puts a series the fingers up on his face, and it's really
- 39:39it's really super into it, trying to understand and and really grasp everything that's
- 39:45happening around him. So and I was like, I said, like,
- 39:47shout out to fantastic Frankie, who we all it was also at our screening,
- 39:51and you know, she is the big DC fan girl, and she
- 39:54thinks that I hate on DC, while truth be told, I've read not
- 39:59as mean d DC comics, but I've read a ton of DC comics.
- 40:02I think the Batman the animated series, the Bruce tim universe if perhaps the
- 40:08greatest universe of any superhero universe of all time, like Batman the Animated series,
- 40:15Onto the Superman Animated series, Onto Justice League, Onto Justice League Unlimited
- 40:19is the greatest run perhaps if any show ever, you know, Like I
- 40:23think the ending of Justice League Unlimited is one of the most perfect things.
- 40:27Ever, I just think it's fucking perfection. And that's not even talking about
- 40:30all those animated movies that come along with that. The DC anime movies are
- 40:34gold standard and also rest rest in peace rather to Kevin Conroy. Yes,
- 40:38and so that's what I mean. So I've never been a DC hater.
- 40:43I've just always wished we were talking about Batman. Like what I've always wished
- 40:45for is to see the Batman who can contend with the Superman with the green
- 40:51n I'm I thought Nolan stuff was perfection, but after that, I didn't
- 40:54need to see that street level Batman ever again, because I've got the no
- 41:00stock if Superman. If Superman came down randomly in the Nolan universe, he's
- 41:06wrecking everybody. He's just that nigga with the quickness. Like I don't,
- 41:10I don't, I don't see no competition, and don't tell me all the
- 41:13shit about Batman with prep time. I see no. Cushing Bell is not
- 41:15fucking doing it. No, He's blown through that nigga like he's dust and
- 41:20like, no, not at all. So that's why I'm like, no,
- 41:22But I mean that was cool for it, but now I want to
- 41:25see I wanted to see Batfleck. I thought Batfleck was dope, even though
- 41:30he's murdering people left him right. I didn't mind it because he was you
- 41:32know, I don't that I can. I can like with Batman. I
- 41:37can trying to get away Superman out of here while even snapping Zob's next I
- 41:43don't want nobody. I don't remind it other than his dad getting eight by
- 41:46a tornado. That ship was stupid and it's a lot of Jesus moments that
- 41:52are the stupidest fucking that movie as well. But beyond that, I think
- 41:54Man is still is pretty dope. I like some of Batman versus Superman.
- 42:00I've watched the Zach Snyder Justice League once and I saw the four hours of
- 42:04hot mess looking sorry dog. You know then you talking about like the the
- 42:08the I guess the gold standards of these versions of the characters and even the
- 42:14mediums that they were in reminds me of something I wanted to mention for the
- 42:16Flash, which was the costuming. Oh yeah, they went in on the
- 42:22costuming. Yeah, man, I can't lie. I loved his sup Chef's
- 42:25kiss. Flash's costume is fucking legit. From the told to the fucking top
- 42:31of the head and to that gold on the fucking snigger. Yeah, man,
- 42:39they made some nikes in them colors like with that material. Oh no,
- 42:45no, no, the nigga had on drip and everybody had on drip.
- 42:51Batman's fucking Supergirls super Oh my god, let me tell you straight from
- 42:57the comics, and it looks so good, then I will fuck in cosplay
- 43:00as that Supergirl fit. Yeah, if someone, if someone makes me the
- 43:06costume, I will fucking do the cosplay, I promise you. With the
- 43:08way, with the way, I will fucking do this. This version,
- 43:12Sasha's version of Supergirl Carl because oh my fucking guy, Like it was just
- 43:16so buttery and beautiful, and it didn't look cheesy, you understand, Like
- 43:22it looked like a million bucks. And even even Michael Keaton with it with
- 43:30the old school Batman, with the old g Batman, and I know that's
- 43:32not even the most old school, but one of the old school Batman fits.
- 43:37You still got that shit. Like for it to be a quote unquote
- 43:39old it still looked fucking good. It looked quality. They definitely redid it
- 43:45because in the original movie that man couldn't move his neck couldn't he still can't.
- 43:50Technically, I thought they was they kept that as a Joel he still
- 43:52kind of can't move his neck. I thought I was purposeful like Joe because
- 43:54you know how he was turn turn something like that, Like he was definitely
- 44:00doing that shit in this movie. I think that was the joke because he
- 44:02was still struggling with it. But he looked great good, looked great,
- 44:07like you said Supergirl looked amazed. And the flash Suite, because that was
- 44:10it. I didn't really know. I didn't see enough for trailers, so
- 44:13know what they really liked. And then when he first stepped on, I
- 44:16was like, oh, you don't know, I'm great. And since that
- 44:21slider right, it was absolutely the way they look in costume is absolutely incredible.
- 44:28Yes, absolutely incredible. And like I told you know, we talked
- 44:31about Ezra, but I will say I felt like this was the best version
- 44:35they have done because I just found them wildly annoying in both versions of Justice.
- 44:39Leagues think they wildly annoying. And I know that you connect, especially
- 44:44because of the basic story about what the Flashpoint is about, which is about
- 44:49you know, Barry trying to save his parents. That's no that's all that,
- 44:52and that and his mom in particular and that, Yeah, that's always
- 44:55been a connection, you know, especially you know as people who listen to
- 44:59show know my mom has passed on, and so stories like that will always
- 45:04get me, which is fucking every superhero story. So you know, it's
- 45:07like that's something I'm had to deal with. Yeah, pretty much. You
- 45:10know, your mom's got to go, you know, So that that touched
- 45:15me and Ezra you know, did what But it wouldn't take much for me
- 45:19to start balling if it's involved in somebody's moms. Don't judge, you know,
- 45:22don't my reaction on it. It's not you know. Well, I
- 45:25was quiet when you had mentioned that because of the reasons you stated, I
- 45:29will say that I still didn't connect with him personally. And again, I
- 45:32know the story already, so I knew all the stuff. So I was
- 45:36just like, it's still valiant and commendable as a general story, and the
- 45:39way that they did it they wrote it, well, I don't. I
- 45:43did not connect with man's I don't. I was like, oh, too
- 45:45bad for you. My nigga like him. Uh, Barry and iris West
- 45:51had about as much chemistry as oil water I extreame. No, that might
- 46:00be good on some cases. I respect paid by Kircy clements pizza and pineapples
- 46:05for those who are haters, you know, It's just it wasn't there,
- 46:08and I didn't understand her inclusion. And besides from story Percie, I didn't.
- 46:14I didn't understand her inclusion in this film because it was also not required,
- 46:16like literally legit. In my head, if you cut her out completely,
- 46:20what did you miss? Nothing? There's her inclusion served no true perfect
- 46:24And as I'm like really sitting there, recall it's been a full twenty four
- 46:28hours since we've seen the film. And as I'm sitting there recalling, like
- 46:31there was nothing of there was nothing of note that made sense of why she
- 46:37had to be there. Did she changed? Was there any was her inclusion
- 46:43directive of anything? No? It only served to remind me of how much
- 46:46I hated her one scene in the Zach Snyder Justice League involving the hot Dog,
- 46:52the infamous hot Dogs scene, which is so that just reminded me that,
- 46:57oh yeah, that still exists. So that was the only thing that
- 47:00this did for me. And I mean, she liked spurs on the plot
- 47:02a little bit but you know, him getting slapped in the face for the
- 47:06spurred on that plot. So it's I don't know, it was a way.
- 47:09I mean, I'm happy for old girls. She got she got a
- 47:13bag for showing up for for a few minutes, but like it was in
- 47:15conferential yeah, so you know, um, and I can't see her.
- 47:22I don't know. I mean they may get like she coming back, but
- 47:25this Barry coming back. You know, there's a lot of questions for the
- 47:29future of the Flash, and we'll see what happened. Um, y'all know
- 47:32that General Zod is back ye in this film, that that's common knowledge,
- 47:37that's actually public, um. And so the way that they introduced him,
- 47:43I don't want to give that away. And and why, I mean that's
- 47:47also public that it's very stuff and there's no superheroes in the world anymore,
- 47:53so he has to find the superheroes to Deatzod. Okay, And so I've
- 47:58I've always liked Michael Shannon as Odd. I've always loved his version aside,
- 48:01if you want this shit to stop, you're gonna have to kill me,
- 48:04my nigga. And that's why I like, I always was never like bad
- 48:08mad about how Batman was acting in Man Still, I was like, this
- 48:12nigga is not it's not fucking stopping, like you gotta you gotta go injustice
- 48:17on him or it's a fucking rat for everybody, Like Billions, I've always
- 48:22disagreed with that. I always feel like I get it that this man is
- 48:23not stopping. But there's always tribute people who are not gonna stop, dart
- 48:28Side being one of them, and Superman has always found a way to defeat
- 48:30them and you know, bandished them away without killing them. So that I
- 48:37like I have said this life, I mean, and I understand that that
- 48:39goes against the general principle, and it's also what that road leads to.
- 48:44That's where it did. That's why that's such a problem, because once Superman
- 48:47starts deciding who lives and dies, it's over for humanity. Sure in the
- 48:52story, I like about that action. Yeah you went in until it happened
- 48:57to you because see that every everything else, Yeah, everybody likes said man,
- 49:04if I havm fucking powers, I'm not your fucking savior. I but
- 49:10if I got Superman powers, I mean, I really don't, and I
- 49:15would helping everybody. I'm not. I'm just going to be very honest,
- 49:22and it's not because people don't deserve the help and people don't deserve this,
- 49:24and I'm not going to go high. I'm going to go low. I'm
- 49:28going to go low for people who are low. Yeah, I don't know
- 49:32what I would do Superman powers. It's very problematic no matter what you do,
- 49:36because it's like humanity is going to destroy itself if somebody doesn't stop and
- 49:40someone in my head, someone's always going to view even if you are a
- 49:44saint quote unquote, someone will always view view you as the enemy. Someone
- 49:49will always be a Lex Luther type where someone will always be like, you
- 49:52can't trust them because they they they're not sharing their powers and they're not doing
- 49:57this and they're not like you could be doing every in the world to end
- 50:00hunger, but it's gonna be somebody fucking hating. But see, that's the
- 50:04thing. If you just sit around and Humaney blows itself up with a nuclear
- 50:07bomb, and you're probably gonna live forever because you're Superman. So you know
- 50:10what, they some omniman shit at that point were you're like, well,
- 50:14these niggas is just gonna kill themselves, like they just fucking pets at that
- 50:16point, like you don't yeah, well, I mean that's you know,
- 50:20it's it's like you have two tritions. Do you just sit around and wait
- 50:22for them and blow himself up and you just sit there with a blowing up
- 50:24world? Or do you stop them from blowing themselves up? Right? But
- 50:28that's what I had said that and just to continue with my comment like it
- 50:31wasn't to say don't help people. I was saying, like, don't matter
- 50:36what you do, there's gonna be someone who's like, you're not doing enough
- 50:38or you're not doing it for me. And at the same time Superman is
- 50:43but one being right, like Superman don't make it to everybody either. There's
- 50:46niggas in the streets that's still poor, still ain't got ship, and Superman
- 50:51ain't come around and they block yet I don't know if he ever will tries,
- 50:55yeah, but he just want to do so. And that's what I'm
- 50:59saying where I'm like this and not for you know, not for nothing,
- 51:01but like and also for the people who do get some someone to help they
- 51:05don't like the way to help was a ministered like and that's why I was
- 51:07like me and myself personally if I had the powers. I'm not y'all fucking
- 51:12savior. I'm telling you that I will do my best for what I got,
- 51:15but I am not. I am not gonna like I'm with y'all.
- 51:19I'm not my best for what I not. I am not. But that's
- 51:28that's beyond the point. Listen. Definitely that's good. Yeah, I think
- 51:30that's all we can say about this movie. Pretty much. The Flash was
- 51:35good FLA. Surprisingly, I didn't have to pay for us, so I
- 51:38don't feel like I gave Ezra anybody any money. Even I feel weird,
- 51:44even like like, ye know, it took me a long time to even
- 51:45post my tweet last night because I was like, damn, I'm damn,
- 51:49I don't want to promote this ship. Yeah this is And not to say
- 51:52that we just promote anything just because of a job. It's just like,
- 51:57I'm gonna tell the truth. Yeah, I'm gonna tell the truth. Yep.
- 52:00Shout out to Mace on It Is what it Is podcast, who says
- 52:02he's here to speak the truth. And I feel I'm the same way,
- 52:06like I would let y'all know if this was some hot mess, you know,
- 52:09and pretty much really enjoying myself. Now you can take the next step
- 52:15and it'side. That's great that I mean in Tatiana, But I'm not out
- 52:20there, you know, perfect do what you need to do. Yeah,
- 52:22Mike, do what you want to do with information, and you're given pretty
- 52:27much, you know what I mean. But yeah, I was surprised.
- 52:30I was already hyped for the future of DC because James Dunn is over there.
- 52:35Uh you know, Superman Legacy is coming out and it's allegedly based at
- 52:38least inspired by All Stars Superman one of the greatest comments ever written. So
- 52:45I'm super hype for that, and this is a good you know, I
- 52:50don't really feel send off to the Snyder verse. It was, you know,
- 52:53it's it's yeah, I didn't really feel like, yeah, I know
- 52:58some people have said it did, but I I feel a little bit more
- 53:00like a good story. And then because if if James John hadn't taken over,
- 53:05like if Snyder's coming back, this could just as well be a reintroduction
- 53:07into the Snyder I thought. I didn't even think about fucking Snyder versus at
- 53:12all with this film. I just thought this is a good intro to clean
- 53:15essentially clean slate. Yeah, that's what I mean. Whatever you wanted to
- 53:19happen after the film could happen after the film. Yes, like if that
- 53:22had been well, if that had been well, that'd be almost spoiled.
- 53:27But you know, like at the end, there's like this big moment and
- 53:30it's basically a big moment where it's like it could be Snyder's back, oh
- 53:35shit, or you know, um, we're going back to the Christopher Reeves
- 53:38Superman somehow oh shit, you know, or the whole world's turn animated and
- 53:43now it's Tevin Conroy. You know. It's the ending is just it's a
- 53:47clean slate folds. It's whatever you want now, whatever you want, whatever,
- 53:52James John. But that's what's so hilarious that this movie was made and
- 53:54finished before gunn ever came into it. So they were really like, whoever,
- 53:59take it so for you know, you forget for you. And that's
- 54:04why I'm also trying to understand, Like I understand by what I said earlier,
- 54:07DC didness because they had to marvel because they wanted to. Diney did
- 54:12it had to because it's just like fam we put ourselves in a in a
- 54:16paradox. Also, we get out. I also want to say that Marvel,
- 54:21you know, just through their first ten years have been unbelievably lucky,
- 54:27you know, which which led them to have this idea where people can look
- 54:30back and say that it's a plan, while it was really just things happening
- 54:35to fall in place, and then it looks like you had a great plan
- 54:37like this just at the beginning, but then there really truly was a plan.
- 54:42But even that plan, like when you watch how things happen and how
- 54:45each movie is made, Like there's a great series on Hulu right now that
- 54:49describes pretty much up to aunt man, how each movie is made, and
- 54:52even then it's like hoping this shit works so we can do this shit.
- 54:55And then now as you see where they allegedly have on plan, does it
- 55:00really feel like it, Well, it's just because it's because this Yeah,
- 55:07sure, absolutely, That's that's all I'm saying. Like, also, that's
- 55:10Marvel fatigue because their last few movies have been with the exception of Gardener,
- 55:15But they had a plan, That's what I'm saying. But they had a
- 55:17plan. But that don't mean the movies it's gonna be good, No,
- 55:20no, of course, And I think but I want to make sure that's
- 55:22separate, separate, that's separate, right, because there's been okay to good
- 55:27DC movies here and there, but there was no plan. And now you
- 55:31have a plan where you have some misses on the Marvel side. Right.
- 55:36So they still claimed they got a plan, and I don't believe them as
- 55:37much anymore. Now you don't mean it's like this, don't sound like a
- 55:42this don't cohesive. Guys. I used to see you when y'all said y'all
- 55:47a plan before I believe y'all Marvel. Now I'm like DC, they got
- 55:51a plan, y'all. Tournaments are fantastic into fucking Veaccini didn't seem like a
- 55:58plan. Guys. You know that was an amazing plan. I was so
- 56:01fucked up, but it's so great, so great. Look that can be
- 56:06part of the plan for everything. Listen, we're gonna, we're gonna,
- 56:07We're gonna off the track? Um we are? Are you gonna? Are
- 56:12you gonna wrap it up? I will say that I did feel so entertained
- 56:15that I would see this movie again. I do want to. I don't
- 56:19want to pay for it, No, I do kind of want to see
- 56:21it again, just so I can see the finished cut to see if anything
- 56:24truly changed in the courses, the credits and after credit scenes, assuming there
- 56:29are and gets replaced, facts that would be fan fucking task and be worth
- 56:35the price of admission alone alone. And I said, like I said,
- 56:37we're gonna be honest with you about how we feels. It was great.
- 56:40I still don't like the nigga like and the story for me, I was
- 56:44so hoping that, like a black Wally West withdraw halfway through this movie.
- 56:51Nah, brother, no reparations for you, also hoping for that. But
- 56:54you know, alas, alas, that's a spoiler. The black Wally West
- 56:59is not in this film. You know, there's a black Wally West in
- 57:00the multiver I mean, you know, they like in a comic fact that
- 57:04I think Wally West is black right now, and I think he was black
- 57:07on the Flash show, yeah, made him back, yeah, and then
- 57:12he made him black in the comics. So I was hoping for that when
- 57:15the show and none of that, So that is yeah, yeah, all
- 57:21right, y'all. This has been our review of The Flash twenty twenty three.

- 1:02:05want to toot my own horn, but I just feel like we wrote a
- 1:02:07really, really fucking dope story and then Tom Mandrake drew the living hell out
- 1:02:14of this ship, like if I hadn't wrote it myself. Like just looking
- 1:02:20at the art, I've stared at the art over and over and it's like
- 1:02:22the type of art where I grew up on where I would just stare at
- 1:02:27a page for hours and there's so many details in it, And that's how
- 1:02:30it is with this book. It's just beautiful. I'm still waiting on the
- 1:02:35last pages to come in. I can't wait to see some of these sequences
- 1:02:42are absolutely gorgeous. And it's literally every time you look at that animation,
- 1:02:49it's almost damn their animation, that's how much movement or on these pages.
- 1:02:52But every time you look at the art, it looks different because you spot
- 1:02:57something different. Yes, in the story. I mean, there's a two
- 1:03:00page spread that I feel that alone is worth the whole book. And the
- 1:03:04two page spread is the It's the third page of the book, and I
- 1:03:07just feel like that two page spread alone should you know, you should be
- 1:03:10able to pay for that book, and so please pick it up, priest,
- 1:03:15please pre order it. Jimmy Hendricks, Purple Hayes at me, let
