- 0:03[SPEAKER_04]: This is Celine Kilvarris, log entry.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_04]: Yesterday I lost control.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_04]: My powers flared and poor decks was caught as collateral.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_04]: Eventually I tried to walk out of the office and leave the building but Dorian blocked every exit.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_04]: He wanted the truth laid bare between us, wanted to explain why he protected RO55.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_04]: Why he lied, why he broke every oath we were raised on.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_04]: and all he saw was me trying to run.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_04]: In the end, nothing was solved, nothing forgiven.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_04]: We eventually boarded venture because duty forced our hands and not because trust was restored.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_04]: And that's where we stand now.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_04]: Two siblings bound by an oath they no longer agree on heading straight into the dark.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_04]: Strength is duty.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_04]: Strength is duty.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: Well here we are
- 1:34[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I wanted to sit in this awkward silence a little bit longer.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_04]: Hold on.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you see, I can't stand the awkward silence, but I am forced to make noise.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: Shh.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm kidding.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: This two very opposite takes awkward silence.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_04]: Celine is in the Med Bay with Dex.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_04]: She's trying to fix herself up.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_04]: She's taking a few hits, and to be honest, they were self-inflicted because of her crash-out.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_04]: And unfortunately, there was a lot of collateral damage, and she's in the Med Bay right now.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_04]: helping out Dex.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_04]: He has a little, a little bruise on his right paw.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_04]: And so she has him laying down and she's like wrapping it up and putting like a little cold compress on his paw.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_04]: And he feels, he feels better.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of stuff that we have that are our ships little med bay would have top of the line treatment.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so Dex is feeling great.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_04]: But
- 2:45[SPEAKER_04]: She still feels very bad now that she has calm down a bit.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_04]: Adrenaline is dropped.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_04]: But she hasn't gone out to wherever Dorian is at.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: What color is sex right now?
- 2:56[SPEAKER_04]: It's a mix of gold, red, and white to be honest.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_04]: So Selena is still very angry, and she is hurt as well.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_04]: So probably some blue, he's a lot of the colors, except for green and gold, really.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_04]: So if he's feeding off of what she's feeling, and Selena's calm down, but she hasn't gone out to wherever you are.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_04]: And I imagine you know where they're at.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Dorian would be at the front of the ship, the cockpit pilot area.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: He would be making sure that the course to collapse so is has nothing in the way there's no new debris or anything that it's a clear shot.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: The path to collapse is known by those who leave Hyperion City to travel through space.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: so it's a rather routine journey.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's a long journey but it's a routine journey.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: And floating around him is Icarus, his utility bottle is come for the journey.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: He looks over at Icarus and confirms the footage is all been deleted, right?
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want to do me a favour, Chris?
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want to go school to make sure that the deck is alright?
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: I suppose Celine is well.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: here and Dorian is going to go into his jacket and he's going to grab these little snacks that he would usually give decks when he sees him like these little cat like these little like cube treats.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: He puts a few into Icarus is little like one of his little tenial hands becomes a bowl and it trickles a few in there.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: Consider that a piece offering.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully it
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: taps him on the top of his little dome, his jellyfish robot dome.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: Good luck.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: Dorian sits back and takes a long look at himself on the reflection of the mirror like through the expansive space and really thinking about the things that he said and more importantly the things he didn't say.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_04]: Celine now has her head.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_04]: It's resting on the elevated bed that Dex is laid on in her face.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_04]: It's like right in front of his.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_04]: She has her hand on his head and it's like brushing it.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_04]: The top of his head and rubbing it.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry boy.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_04]: I'm so sorry.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: you hear the soft worrying of Icarus like he peeks in with his little dome head and then slowly brings the little tendril out with the bowl and makes the jiggling sound of the toe of the treats inside that I would presume decks recognize as the sound or the smell at least.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_04]: Dexterize the get up but because I want him to rest off of the pie kind of pulled him down.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: Icarus' tendrilic he extends it out towards you.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_04]: and I'll grab him.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_04]: What is this a piece offering?
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: slowly leaves the room.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: It does a little soft little wave with a little tendril, but then shuts the door very quickly.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_04]: It's just to just eyes it and I'm looking back at decks.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_04]: You want these boy?
- 6:51[SPEAKER_04]: Then I'll put one off or two at hand up, immediately.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_04]: It's all of them, actually.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_04]: And then I go back to like hands crossed, chin honor hands, and resting on the bed with decks next to me.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: In my opinion, I think, between the two of us, our characters probably take the first, like at least third of this journey to just kind of cool off separately.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: And Dorian very much gives Celine space in the Med Bay with Dex and does not bother her at all.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: Other than Baker is going to give treats.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: And make sure the ship is on course.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: And quite a lot.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_04]: And we say that, yeah, how long do we say that is?
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to remember what we agreed on, how far Colipso was away from Hyperion, both the planet, prefectus.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_04]: I wanted to say that it was like a two or three day journey.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: I believe that's what we agreed on a couple of days.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: So probably like, we left late, we left late in the evening, like we left in the evening.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: So it probably sleep in the separate, like on our quarters and not really interact, and so probably part of the next day, I would say.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_04]: That same, that same night, I'm gonna say, it's really late, and Selene is going to call her mother.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: You're a face.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: That was just so funny because I remembered the last session, Dory, and it was threatening to try and call mom, but.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you weren't able to, she didn't answer.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: No, she didn't answer, but you're doing a direct call.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so it's quite, it's quite late, so it's not a certainty that she'll answer.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want to do a percentile to save she'll answer?
- 8:54[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see, it is about, it's close to midnight.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_04]: True, we left around seven or eight.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: And my argument to at least keep it 50-50, is that if she used to be an enforcer, a pre-torn an enforcer, she'd be used to late hours, so there's a good chance she might still be awake.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_04]: Right, all right, so you want to keep it 50-50 then?
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think 50-50.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: OK, not 75.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: It should be 60 40 60 60 60 60 percent chance.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: She's awake 40 percent chance.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: So we want to say to see if she's there lower.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_04]: 79 she's asleep.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_04]: She's an answer.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: You could try calling dad.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_04]: Nope, she really wanted her mother.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, even though, you know, love's dad.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_04]: But he might side with Dorian.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: She wants someone who should go side with her.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: Very simple.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: Very siblings, pitting their parents.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: You can't see each other.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: We could call dad, but he might, he goes to sleep even earlier than her.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a 30, I think it's a 37D.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think I think, I think Magnus Kilvara's.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: is a morning, like a morning person gets up very early, but also just crashes at like, winds down at sundown is in bed by eight a sleep by nine.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so a little bit that be.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's, I think 37.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think it's a 30% chance.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's awake.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_02]: I do this is gonna have that.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: I do, I was like, I do that he was gonna answer.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: So it's 29 means he answers, yeah.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think with the 29, I think, you know how even even in this future, a film will bring multiple times and you think, oh, if once it gets the fifth ring, that's when I like it, it'll go to a voicemail or like an auto message.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: But as soon as the voicemail thing comes up, you hear the voice first.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, so wait!
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: Silly, is that you?
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: Hang on, listen, let me get my face on, hold on, hold on.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: And you can see the camera, like the little visual, like, tilts and shuffles around.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: And then you see your father.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: And Dorian's father, Magnus Calvaris, he, uh, when I think of him.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we haven't, we haven't like delved deep into it.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to do like exposition dumb.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_04]: But I think we are technically step siblings, but our parents married when you were three, and I was like six.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_04]: So all we know is each other.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_04]: So we don't introduce each other as steps of a step.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's one of those unspoken things we just don't say.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, so he is a,
- 11:44[SPEAKER_04]: Very kind, loving, like, soft, but he's black man.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_04]: Mother is white and oddly enough, you know, I don't, you know, I think to say we don't see color is cheesy, but I think that's the case, unfortunately.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, it's cheesy, but it makes sense.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so, but yes, he's like a black man, I imagine.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of imagine like a well-for-roomed.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, great, great with some straight, but well-groomed like almost like a lion's man sort of like finally groomed and cared for beard with fine hair going back.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, likes to wear like slowing clothing and he wants to become durable, very smart.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_04]: I think people underestimate him because of foul nices, but he's actually just quite brilliant and
- 12:31[SPEAKER_04]: is the head of Kelvarist dynamics, so, and that's for reasons, not cause he's like, he knows what he's doing, but he's a nice guy.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: He comes off, he, he comes off of goofy, but is actually very good at what he does.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, he's up, like, you could see he's in like, his, like, little, like, his, like, his nightclothes, and it, like, finally tilts it forward.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's, it's, it's a lean.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's a lean father.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's so late.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: You were right.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, well, oh, what can I do for you?
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: I apologize, I, you know your old man, he goes to bed early and he's, yeah, I, I apologize for waking you up, did I wake you?
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes, you did wake me, but you don't ever have to apologize for waking me, it's more than a right.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have anything on the schedule tomorrow until the afternoon anyway, so, no worries.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: if you're concerned about them.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_04]: And Mother, she is.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_04]: Mother is asleep there next to you.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for the moment.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, you seem like peer-over.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: You can see, like, she's turned over.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, for the moment, she, um, she was outlapped with some of her associates.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: And so, little more, little more tired out than normal.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I haven't called you in a few weeks.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: It has been that long, hasn't it?
- 14:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so just wanted to check it on you.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing well.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: The projects in robotics, I'm not sure if your brother mentioned anything, but we've been working on some projects in the robotics department.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: And it's moving slow, but steady.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: And we have a presentation to give to the higher councils in a couple of days.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: and feel very confident that we'll get the funding we need for what I am presenting.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: It will just create a better resource for energy and efficiency in all of my period city.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, I, well, you're brilliant with your words.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_04]: So I have no doubt that you will.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: And you, how are things going for you, Miss Zamana?
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was supposed to say I think he's obsessed with you.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: But imagine that.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_04]: He very well might be.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_04]: But you know, I don't like to deal with being in the public eye.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: Ever my humble daughter.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_04]: I try to be.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_04]: And you can see that she, her mind seems to be off in another place.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, he, he knows you.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like, parents know when something's up.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: Celine, yeah, you can be honest with me, you see he gets up and he like shuffles over to a balcony, he shuts the door to kind of let Lucinda continue to sleep and you can see a little like a bit of the background of, you know, the gold district behind him as he turned his like something must be on your mind if you're calling me this late and there is a beat where
- 15:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, oh yes, there is something on my mind.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just not sure how to say it.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm, you know I'm always here to listen and support you in the matter what.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: I know we can be a bit scattered with duties to the city and things like that, but in the end we're all family.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_04]: Isn't... isn't our duty to the city above all?
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: You sound like your mother.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: I guess so.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: There's duty to... your city, your... things to civilization I suppose, but...
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: I would also say that... there's also a duty to be your family, your loved ones.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: The people who are important in your life.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: I suppose that also includes duty to yourself.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_04]: Duty is gold, no?
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: As the monstrous says, duty is gold, but we are as golds.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: We have to represent it.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I can think of no more, no gold, more precious in my life.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: You, Dorian Lucinda.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_04]: So should we honor our family first,
- 17:21[SPEAKER_04]: our gold brethren and sisters.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: He like turns to the back of the window to like kind of see if he sees, listen, to stirring.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: There are many who debate what is more important.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: The continuance of our society's progression into tomorrow or
- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: making sure that we have people around us to share tomorrow with.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I, for one, like to think of the latter, there's no utopia in the future if you don't bring people along with you.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: And people will always bring conflict and with that you must bring compromise and...
- 18:03[SPEAKER_04]: I'm wondering, because you and Mother have such differing views, but you've been married for so long.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_04]: You make it work somehow.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes, of course.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's because we love each other.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_00]: And we might differne but heads and have different opinions about a great many things, but the things that we do agree upon, like making sure that
- 18:33[SPEAKER_00]: You will endure in our thriving and in our safe.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: That's very important to us, isn't it?
- 18:40[SPEAKER_04]: Would you say that love goes above our philosophies in our deep-held morals?
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: Now you're starting to sound like your brother.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: I would have talked with him about these philosophies quite a bit.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: But uh...
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's something that I don't think is agreed upon in a grand scale, but I think if we stopped looking forward and looked at where we were standing sometimes, I think it would become less of an argument and more of a conversation with that makes sense.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: We as gold are always looking forward where
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: One step towards tomorrow, but I think we can sometimes lose sight of what's going on today.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_04]: And what is the stance of the cow of ours, family?
- 19:38[SPEAKER_00]: You just said it.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_04]: What?
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: So, family.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: You could take my credentials, you could take my titles, you could take away my money,
- 19:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'd give it all away to make sure you, your mother and your brother were safe, and I'd do it without a second thought.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_04]: Do you think mother would agree with you?
- 20:02[SPEAKER_04]: If you're being honest.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think I could sway her.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: As you said, I have a way with words.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it would be a short conversation.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: But I think I could win her over.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: I've been able to do that for a few decades now.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_04]: So you think love and family is a good enough argument for the great Lucinda Kelvarus to forgo her beliefs of gold and the society.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_00]: I suppose you untrue answer would be to ask for yourself, but I don't think that if Lucinda had to choose between you kids and her legacy.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it would, as much as I am disappointed to say I don't think she would make the decision immediately.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think she would make that decision without really thinking about what's inside.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: I know she can be stern and harsh, but she's still your mother, and he takes a moment.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'd like to think she'd make the choice for you over that.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_04]: If Dex was near you right now, what color would he be showing?
- 21:16[SPEAKER_00]: Where is that skamp?
- 21:18[SPEAKER_04]: I kind of moved the camera so he can see decks laying down.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, there he is.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he's getting so big.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_04]: See a little iris perk up.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: I remember when you first got him, he could fit in the shoebox.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_03]: He could.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_03]: He could.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'd like to think decks would show.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: What is it?
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: Is it a true, is it white?
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: passion.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: I would think that.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: I've never been one for lying.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know I'm terrible at gambling.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I don't ask because I think you're lying, Father.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_04]: I just have a lot to do.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_04]: What do you think I would lie to?
- 22:00[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think so.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_04]: I just have a lot of my mind.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: Have you talked to Dorian about this?
- 22:07[SPEAKER_04]: No, but I think it's time I did.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, good.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure he's probably still up.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: I have to check on him to at some point.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: Make him look through my presentation for edits.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: But you should come to the presentation you and him.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: It'd be good to see you.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure what your schedule was or I'll be.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_00]: I know we are all have our duties, but as we just said this whole conversation, if you could squeeze some time in for your old man, I'd be nice to see you both.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_04]: I'll look at my schedule and I'll let you know.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_00]: Splendid.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: Soar with the wings of Kilvarris, my daughter.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_04]: OK, father.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_04]: Send mother, my love.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: And send Dorian, mine as well.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_04]: Have a good night.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: You too, my child.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: And with a warm smile, he.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: hits the wrong button, but like in Zoom's in, then he hits it and zooms out.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, confounded, and turns it off.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_04]: Where is Dorian?
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: Dorian?
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's a few hours later.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: Dorian would be sitting in the main, like, I would say, I don't want to say parlor, but I would say like the mess hall area of the place you'd be set up on the sofa, like long sofa sitting there.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he would be sitting playing a game.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: he would have his wrist highlighting the ceiling of the ship with a simple puzzle game that he would be sitting there trying to solve at a maximum difficulty.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: And you could hear the sounds of like, almost like a game like the tilt sounds of like, you know, you lose and just soft,
- 24:02[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, hey, hey buddy, how are you?
- 24:07[SPEAKER_04]: He just goes up, rest his head on your leg.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: Pauzes his silly game.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: He reaches over any pets, decks behind the ears.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: Glad to see you up on your feet.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm, did you get my message?
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: Of course you did.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_00]: And then you're... Oh, couldn't sleep?
- 24:30[SPEAKER_04]: Celine walks in from behind you.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_04]: She doesn't answer it, but she does sit across from you.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_04]: So like that game and the holograph have the holograph fix of the game or in between you both.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: We are, on course, doesn't appear to be any issues at the moment.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: Should get there in a day and a half.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't ask for coordinates.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: No, now you didn't.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_04]: And why is that?
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: Because I lied to the most important person in my life.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel guilty about it.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think there's enough fine stories that would make up for that.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm still stupid enough to try.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: So here's the first one.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_03]: Don't say it.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_03]: Don't say it.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: Well, are you still hurt?
- 25:23[SPEAKER_03]: I'll be fine.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: supplies and well are we going to talk about the ship supplies not anymore just start from the beginning please all right there's a sick you're familiar with the corruption the the neural link viral attack that happens to reds occasionally and just slowly corrods away all their sense of self and they become nothing but
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: machines of violence and malice and unpredictability.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you would see them all the time.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't need to tell you.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, went to teacher mode.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I've been trying to figure out why they happened and if there's a way to prevent it because losing reds on one hand is unfortunate but on the other hand, from a utility perspective is bad for businesses, bad for
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: But four years ago, one of the first few reds that came to me was Ross, and he had severe stages of the corruption.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm not sure what it was, but he rewrote it in his own neural network.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: I scanned him, I kept surveillance on him, I questioned him, I ran everything I had at the time on him and there was no explanation of how he was capable of removing it from himself and if anything.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_04]: And somewhere between then and now you started this demented friendship.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: At first it was more Dr.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: Patient, but his personality really came out and he began to ask questions about me and, well, I don't have a lot of people that I spend time with outside of work and I kept him around, I just would talk to him more and see, on one hand I was looking at him as a rare study and then yes, it did become a friendship.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: because just like our human minds, every reds and neuro network is different.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: And unique, and if anything.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_04]: Dorian, I don't care about a reds, neural network.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: I would think you would because a lot of it is applied to your job, in your station.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_04]: My job isn't to learn about their neural networks.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: But if you could, you could mitigate the incidents and there would be less destruction
- 28:20[SPEAKER_04]: and I'd be out of a job.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: You wouldn't be out of a job.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: You would find something else to go and fight.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: There's always crime.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: Mm.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: If anything, statistically, there are more crimes done by non-rets.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: But that's not the conversation for now.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: I knew that having any sort of friendship with him would have been a death knel for the family.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_04]: And... And yet?
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: And also trying to take him on as an assistant or working labor in my lab would have, he would have drawn attention from someone else because of the way his neural network worked.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: It was so unique.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: Someone else would have tried to take him apart and maybe not even put him back together after studying him.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't want to do that.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_04]: Is this supposed to make me feel better about this friendship?
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's supposed to help you understand.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: You asked to tell you from the beginning, and I'm telling you, Ross is unique.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: And... That's not his name.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: He chose it.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_04]: Rets don't choose their names.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_04]: They're signed a designation.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_04]: He is R.O.55.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_01]: I told him that.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: And he asked, is it Ross just easier to say?
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: And with a question like that, it, both my carryout, my carryosity was peaked.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_04]: And here we are.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Ross' intelligence is like that of a super computer, but his emotional intelligence is like that of an adolescent.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: He, I've never beaten him at any contest of wits ever.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: And if anything, I saw that as a challenge to myself, and also a competition.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_04]: So this RO55 is smarter than you, you're saying.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: By a little bit, I don't want to wound myself too much, but... And this is how I was able to clean reds.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: This was a theory we were both talking about, because the corruption seems to have some sort of correlation to the codes that they're identified by, and I theorized with Ross that perhaps these corruptions are not random, that perhaps they're being picked like a lottery.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: And if there was a way to trick the lottery system, this theoretical lottery system, that might prevent corruption from happening, and perhaps more reds would be able to ascend their intelligence like him, have a bit more of a personality, a bit more, you're gonna hate this.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_04]: And why would a red need a personality?
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: They live among us.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: They are just as similar to us in a lot of way more ways than you think.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, there are synthetic wires.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, they don't have real true organs, but they think they can feel things that happen to them.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_01]: in a different way than us, but they can feel it, and they can hold memories and have opinions on those memories, not just, oh, I enjoyed this recreational activity, not just, oh, I did a recreational activity today.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: Ross enjoys playing games.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's not his name.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't expect you to call him, but that's what I've been calling him some.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, about the code.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: It was a theory that I was thinking about with him because of the way his code not only resisted the corruption, but completely repelt it, and I didn't realize that in the same time I was studying this theory on him, he was studying my theories, and he told me that he was going to try something, and I told him that it would not work.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: By the 7, I even told him, listen, I could even try to see if I could get him an audience with father.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: Because of all the people I can think of, he would potentially listen because father listens to everyone.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: But he, like I said, with an adolescent's mind and ambition and emotional charge, he started doing things without me.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_04]: You know that this is treason, what you've done.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: Openly talk about a theory, or having a friendship with a red.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_04]: Possibly both.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_04]: How do you think the tribunal will take it?
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: Personally, I don't think the tribunal could argue the semantics of what a friendship is.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_04]: that doesn't matter though, does it?
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: He turns, he stands up, and decks with sea colors of pure white and some blue this entire conversation.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: There, there's no green, not even a flash of it, and what he's saying, I need to talk to him.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'll get him to stop this, or at least, to try to understand what he's doing, because there's something can be salvaged from this.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_04]: with all due respect or in that's not our job.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_04]: No, it's not to talk to him and to see reason.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's not your job.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_04]: Our job is the same.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_04]: Were we not put on this mission together for the same task?
- 33:47[SPEAKER_04]: Do you have a secret task that I don't know of?
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: We are out to capture him, not kill him.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_01]: We're not retiring him, we are capturing him.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I think if we capture him, I can talk to him.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_04]: You're right.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_04]: The task is not to kill him.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_04]: I had no intention of doing so.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: the last time you asked to not retire already, you did it anyway.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_01]: And he thinks about saying something about trust, but then retracts it immediately.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_01]: Never mind.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_04]: My job is to find RO55 and I will do that, and he will be seen before the tribunal.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: You don't even want to know why.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_04]: And that's it.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's what the job is.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: One of these days, I hope you see that your job isn't everything.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think KL would have convinced you otherwise.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_04]: Don't mention him.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: I said what I said.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_04]: Don't mention his name.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_04]: I just need to know that when the time comes, you will not be in my way.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to bring in R055 no matter what.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: I swore about to to capture him.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_01]: I also made a promise to Ross that I would help him.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_04]: Well, then you'll have to choose, brother.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: And impossible puzzle?
- 34:52[SPEAKER_04]: You're the one that's making an impossible.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: So what happens if I choose to help him?
- 34:58[SPEAKER_04]: Then you reject me and the rest of our family.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_01]: How do I reject them by helping a friend?
- 35:03[SPEAKER_04]: I think you know, Dorian.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_04]: You think it's unfair, but that's the way things are.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't have to be.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_04]: But it is.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_04]: So I want to let you know that I will stop at nothing to catch him.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_01]: I said I would help catch him.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_01]: That is the vow.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_04]: It is.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_04]: And I do want to say something else.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_04]: I talked to Father, and he had words of love and family.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: He was awake.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_04]: He was awake.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_04]: The first surprise.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: Did you tell him what was going on?
- 35:32[SPEAKER_04]: Of course not.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_04]: I would never endanger his life.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_04]: But I did want to apologize.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_04]: I said some things when I was getting on to the ship that I didn't mean.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_04]: I would never hurt you.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: I know you didn't mean it.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_04]: But I do have a job to do.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_04]: And I will get it done.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: You always do.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna go make some tea to help me get back to sleep.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: Would you like some?
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's okay.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'll make breakfast in the morning and check navigations.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: And for what it's worth, I'm at least also curious to see Kulip sew up the clothes.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_04]: She just nods at you.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_04]: She's going to stand up and then she's going to the cockpit area.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_04]: And so the door opens.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_04]: She heads in, waits for decks to follow her in the door,
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: Dorian thinks about some things he could have said, but knows that this was the first step to trying to mend the bridge.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: So he just sits down for a moment and then goes over to start making tea.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: Ikker has floats out from underneath the leg of the table.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: Where he sat the whole time, I'm like, oh yeah, you were scared?
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: So was on it.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: and he makes himself some tea and thinks about what the next steps are going to look like would you argue that there was an attempt to hearten in this situation?
- 36:59[SPEAKER_04]: I don't, I don't think.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_04]: I think Salene, which Salene did want to apologize.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_04]: Do you think that?
- 37:07[SPEAKER_04]: That's what Dorane was trying to do?
- 37:10[SPEAKER_04]: I guess it depends on the definition of hearten.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: socialize, share intimacy, find a moment of peace.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: That was a moment of peace.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_04]: Then I guess so.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to try to roll.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: Heart and then, fory, fory, for selling.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: Are you kidding me?
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this is great timing for that momentum.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: because it is not going to be a miss with a match.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: It is going to be a strong hit with a match.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: There have been so many matches this entire day.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I am, I am gobsmacked with the amount of them.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: I know, that's crazy.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: We're not even going to read miss because it didn't happen.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: strong hit with a match.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: You find your companionship or comfort and your spirit of strength.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: If you are shaken, clear an impact, take it one spirit.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, nice.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: Or otherwise take two.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: So I would argue that gives us each one.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_05]: Sure.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: Or actually, you're at three, right?
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: It actually makes more sense to just give you two because I think between talking to Magnus and I talking to Dorian, I think
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's a little more groundedness in you, and I think more resolution, you know, you're going to do your job, you apologize to you, understood you heard, you listened to Dorian and you listened to Magnus, I think you're a little, I think the spirit should go back to you, and I think Dorian should stay at four because he's still stressed about choices he has to make.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: Are you sure?
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that's, I think that's what I would go to.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't think we technically rolled set of course.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: No, that I, well, this is where we were rolling now.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so let's see, I, I'll roll set of course.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, let's do it.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: Roll with supply, okay?
- 38:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it's a good thing we've re-supplied.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: Nice.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: Strong hit.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_04]: That is a strong hit.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_04]: So we reach our destination and the situation there.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_04]: How do we think the situation favors us?
- 39:04[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to say it's a sort of montage of the next day of travel and then slowly we start to see this wide, large, behemoth derelict ship.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_04]: Colipso, what we've heard in the history books, very ancient, and it looks it as well, falling apart in different areas.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_04]: And so we're right, our ship, the venture, looks tiny as we're floating in next to it.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_01]: We are in significant compared to this is a dread not.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: This is like a city on a ship.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_04]: But the situation favors us.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_04]: So that can mean a few things.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_04]: I have one idea, but if you have ideas.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: The only idea I can think of is perhaps because we track to the ship that left because of the tracker you had, I think we know where they docked and know that where we can safely dock our ship and get on to the dread not proper.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: And then follow them.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I think.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think the blip for the ship can lead us to where it's safe to put venture while we go looking for him.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: But I will also hear out what you think, obviously.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_04]: Mine was similar actually, so I very much agree with that.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_04]: And the next thing I was going to ask is, should the fine the reds within Clip?
- 40:22[SPEAKER_04]: So should that progress track be marked because of that strong hit?
- 40:27[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it absolutely should.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_04]: So.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_04]: Our ship is coming upon.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_04]: We see another ship we don't technically know who's it is, but I did have a tracker on at least one of them.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_04]: I'm locking in, I'm zeroing in on it.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_04]: I know that I need to turn on the cloaking device so that we're not seen.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_04]: And that's the next step.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: Daryan put throws his jacket on.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: Ajax is a little gold crab, crump climbs up to his shoulder.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: He looks at Icarus and then he looks out to make eye contact with you.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_04]: She fixes her Kelvars pin, tightens the gauntlets, and sets chorus for the ship to lower.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks for listening to Iron Rising a Star Forge actual play.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_04]: I'm Maya Wilson, and I've been Celine, Kelvars.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Michael Gilbert, and I've been Dorian, Kelvars.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: And together, we bring the world of Hyperion City and the law of seven to life.
