  to today's episode

  talking about

  the grace that lifts you again.

  I wanna talk about it from the scriptural
• 0:38
  text of Ephesians two and eight,
• 0:41
  and it says, because of his kindness,
• 0:44
  you have been saved through trusting Christ. And
• 0:47
  even trusting is not of yourselves,
• 0:49
  it too is a gift from God.
• 0:53
  So we're continuing
• 0:54
  on the discussion about
• 0:56
  God's gifts,
• 0:58
  and we are zooming in today on the
• 1:01
  gift of grace,
• 1:03
  which is more than forgiveness,
• 1:05
  it's actually empowerment.
• 1:09
  Now maybe you've never thought about it from
• 1:11
  that standpoint,
• 1:13
  but consider that grace picks you up when
• 1:15
  you fall,
• 1:16
  it strengthens you when you're weak,
• 1:19
  and it reminds you that your story is
• 1:21
  still unfolding.
• 1:25
  After all, God's word tells us that he
• 1:27
  is the author and the finisher of our
• 1:29
  faith
• 1:30
  and that without faith it is impossible to
• 1:32
  please him.
• 1:34
  So knowing that
• 1:36
  we don't walk this journey with God because
• 1:38
  we are perfect.
• 1:40
  As long as we are in mortal bodies
• 1:42
  we will always need the power and guidance
• 1:44
  of the Holy Spirit,
• 1:47
  the instruction of the word,
• 1:49
  and the constant communication
• 1:51
  through prayer of what God's will is for
• 1:53
  our life.

  We actually walk it because his grace carries
• 1:59
  us.

  Grace doesn't say try harder.

  That's that's what the world tells us, if
• 2:07
  I do a little bit more, if I
• 2:09
  love a little bit more, then maybe this
• 2:12
  situation will turn around, or maybe this person
• 2:14
  will love me more.

  No, grace says come closer.

  I always say

  God welcomes the conversation.

  He always has something to say about our

  circumstance,

  but we often don't allow him

  the opportunity

  for him to speak because we're too busy

  and too distracted.

  But when we take the time to silence

  our spirit

  we can hear him
• 2:40
  through the word
• 2:42
  and through
• 2:43
  sometimes

  a soft still voice

  And when you come close to God,

  you begin to see that his grace is
• 2:51
  not a license to sin
• 2:53
  because his word tells us
• 2:55
  be holy for I am holy,

  but a lift to lift

  differently.

  It's it's an instruction,

  a

  quest, if you
• 3:10
  will, to not be worldly,

  but to be heavenly minded.

  And when you live like that, you don't

  have to earn grace.

  You just have to receive it.
