- 0:19Speaker 4: When people put in two dollars, you know, come on,
- 0:21Speaker 4: you can't be that cheap. There was a gal who
- 0:24Speaker 4: I saw on the freeway off ram who said three
- 0:27Speaker 4: dollars please, and someone came up with two.
- 0:29Speaker 3: She had faith And.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Now Handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle.
- 0:38Speaker 4: And good morning everybody, Bill Handle her warning crew. On
- 0:42Speaker 4: a Monday morning, January nineteenth, Martin Luther King Day, as
- 0:48Speaker 4: we celebrate one of the greatest heroes in the history
- 0:53Speaker 4: of the United States. I mean, he is way way
- 0:55Speaker 4: up there. Not easy to get a national holiday, although
- 0:58Speaker 4: there are certain people out there they're pushing for a
- 1:01Speaker 4: national holiday. And I won't go into that discussion, uh
- 1:04Speaker 4: until a little bit later on.
- 1:06Speaker 3: By the way, that promo say that I'm human.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Or we are human as we as we started right, Okay, okay, well,
- 1:15Speaker 4: thank you for that. There are a lot of people
- 1:17Speaker 4: who disagree with that. Guaranteed human, by the way, guaranteed human. Yeah,
- 1:22Speaker 4: by whom.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Okay, what that's iHeart and I've saw I've seen it
- 1:26Speaker 2: in print, has an asterisk.
- 1:28Speaker 1: And says handle, so maybe yeah.
- 1:34Speaker 3: All right, Neil, good morning, Good morning, Willie Wolf.
- 1:37Speaker 1: You look good and chipper today.
- 1:39Speaker 3: I am a chipper today.
- 1:41Speaker 4: That got some decent sleep last night, which is sometimes
- 1:44Speaker 4: not easy to get.
- 1:46Speaker 3: As we go to bed.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Am.
- 1:50Speaker 4: I right, yeah, yeah, let me tell you about a
- 1:53Speaker 4: newly wed.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Okay, uh, you know, Lindsey goes.
- 1:56Speaker 4: I can't wait for tonight, Bill and I hand her
- 1:59Speaker 4: a couple hundred bucks and go here. You take care
- 2:01Speaker 4: of yourself, just you know, yeah, I have a headache tonight. Okay, Cono,
- 2:07Speaker 4: good morning, Good morning, Bill. And there's a will Hey
- 2:11Speaker 4: wearing a baseball cap this morning.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Good morning. Yeah. I didn't. I didn't feel like taking
- 2:15Speaker 1: the two hours to do my hair, so.
- 2:17Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I could see that. What is that? Is
- 2:20Speaker 4: that a T shirt you have? But what a T
- 2:22Speaker 4: shirt from Kansas City?
- 2:23Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:23Speaker 3: Oh, okay, excellently.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I would be wearing forty nine ers GARB but that
- 2:27Speaker 1: didn't go so well.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, I'm not gonna talk football today.
- 2:31Speaker 4: That was a snowy game yesterday between one team and
- 2:35Speaker 4: the other, and I have no.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Idea who won. It looked miserable, Yeah it is.
- 2:38Speaker 3: It's really miserable playing in the snow.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Cheez lituise.
- 2:43Speaker 4: It should be that every single city that is snowbound,
- 2:47Speaker 4: like Buffalo in New York, should have an indoor stadium.
- 2:51Speaker 4: You would think that was Chicago. That was Chicago last night. Yeah,
- 2:56Speaker 4: oh okay, oh right, yeah, whatever city, that was fair enough.
- 3:01Speaker 3: And uh there's Ann Good morning, Anne, good morning, Bill,
- 3:04Speaker 3: good morning.
- 3:04Speaker 4: And Amy is not here today, but the brookemeister is hello.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Uh so it's Heather who is joining us today and
- 3:14Speaker 4: you're here all week? Is Anne gone for the week?
- 3:18Speaker 5: No, just today. Amy will be back tomorrow.
- 3:20Speaker 3: I mean Amy.
- 3:22Speaker 4: I always conflate the two because they both start with
- 3:24Speaker 4: a slender one.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah, she is.
- 3:31Speaker 4: We've I've said, okay, that an on her? Uh No,
- 3:37Speaker 4: not really really.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Oh Heather isn't in on this? What? Uh so?
- 3:44Speaker 2: Handle was was going through and was saying something about.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Uh Amy and about Anne.
- 3:51Speaker 2: And he he kept referring to Amy as tall and
- 3:55Speaker 2: slender and didn't say that.
- 3:59Speaker 5: Was also slender.
- 4:00Speaker 4: She's not slender and is not She is not fat.
- 4:05Speaker 4: She is not fat at all. But she is not
- 4:07Speaker 4: slender is a body slender?
- 4:11Speaker 1: I'm not slender?
- 4:12Speaker 3: You are?
- 4:13Speaker 4: You?
- 4:13Speaker 3: Are you? Three times slender?
- 4:17Speaker 4: Uh?
- 4:18Speaker 3: And Land has Amy has very long long legs and
- 4:24Speaker 3: am i uh to loose.
- 4:30Speaker 5: A petite? She's tiny and she is slim and slender.
- 4:34Speaker 4: She got that one. Yeah, everybody else missed it.
- 4:39Speaker 5: We're missing all of the mean stuff today.
- 4:44Speaker 4: I am not just pointing out that. And for example,
- 4:47Speaker 4: let's say Anne had long walks.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Okay she does, which she does.
- 4:53Speaker 4: And uh, let's say Anne did not she had short hair,
- 4:56Speaker 4: So to point out long hair versus short hair. All
- 5:00Speaker 4: I'm pointing out is that Anne.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Anne has a good body. She's just not slender.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I wouldn't know.
- 5:07Speaker 3: You wouldn't know slender if it bit you in the ass.
- 5:10Speaker 1: You know that?
- 5:12Speaker 3: Are you saying slenders long? Yes? Okay, so that's totally different.
- 5:16Speaker 6: So like Amy is a tall drink of water and
- 5:19Speaker 6: Anne is a short shot of liquor.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Well said, wow, Well said, yeah, that is not. That
- 5:25Speaker 4: is not in any way something wrong with that.
- 5:28Speaker 1: It isn't. And I'm a buzzball. Oh you're far bored.
- 5:34Speaker 3: You need to google that, Neil. You make the michelin
- 5:39Speaker 3: Man an extra in a Holocaust.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Michel michelin Man came to me and said he you
- 5:44Speaker 2: could lose a few pounds.
- 5:46Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I'm glad I brought in donuts for today.
- 5:49Speaker 6: You guys would be enjoying the donuts that I had
- 5:51Speaker 6: brought in if you were here, speaking of all of
- 5:54Speaker 6: the uh, everybody not needing to eat anymore. It sounds
- 5:58Speaker 6: wonderful Colorado donuts.
- 6:00Speaker 4: It it's okay, guys, as we start. Uh, by the way,
- 6:04Speaker 4: was that body shaming? And was that quit not?
- 6:09Speaker 5: Oh I'm a little bit.
- 6:11Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Uh, there's two hundred and eighty pounds of will talking
- 6:16Speaker 4: about body shaming.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:17Speaker 7: This is the definition of slender, all right, someone who
- 6:21Speaker 7: is attractively thin, graceful, and narrow and build, with a
- 6:25Speaker 7: delicate frame and often little body fat.
- 6:28Speaker 3: It doesn't say tall.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Okay, okay, you can be slender.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Okay, why do people I don't hate, I don't, I don't,
- 6:39Speaker 4: I don't like, I don't know.
- 6:40Speaker 3: You don't understand.
- 6:41Speaker 1: No, No, it's it's don't jump in the ring.
- 6:45Speaker 4: It's projecting because I was heavy my entire life heavy.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I was gravitational.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Oh I'm sorry, I wasn't. I was over three.
- 6:54Speaker 1: I stopped in that same class, none of you're you're.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Moving very quickly in that direct three hundred and ten pounds,
- 7:02Speaker 4: and I stopped weighing myself, okay. And then I had
- 7:06Speaker 4: the bariatric surgery okay, because I couldn't do it on
- 7:08Speaker 4: my own. So there, all right, fair enough, fair enough,
- 7:11Speaker 4: fair enough, Okay, time for handle on the news, Heather
- 7:15Speaker 4: neil Me lead story. Yeah, European Union ambassadors met and
- 7:23Speaker 4: Brussels yesterday and they're trying to figure out do we
- 7:26Speaker 4: retaliate against Washington after the president, our president said that
- 7:32Speaker 4: he was going to impose tariffs on eight country unless
- 7:35Speaker 4: they agreed to Trump's push to acquire Greenland. Either I
- 7:41Speaker 4: get Greenland or you're going to get tariffs up. The
- 7:44Speaker 4: ying Yang tariffs are already a ten percent. He said
- 7:49Speaker 4: he would add I believe another fifteen percent and that
- 7:53Speaker 4: would go up to twenty five percent unless they cut
- 7:57Speaker 4: a deal.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Isn't that special? How is this different than putin? I mean,
- 8:03Speaker 2: there's no war, I get it. Yeah, yeah, that's that's
- 8:06Speaker 2: the difference. Is putin you know lobs these drones and
- 8:10Speaker 2: starting Yeah, yeah, yeah, there's no question.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Yeah, it's crazy, it's crazy and it's not appropriate.
- 8:17Speaker 3: And we're going to talk when are we gonna.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Do that story?
- 8:20Speaker 3: Uh?
- 8:21Speaker 4: And about the craziest stuff our president has done, the
- 8:26Speaker 4: ten craziest.
- 8:28Speaker 1: You did it last Friday. I think you did it Thursday. Wednesday,
- 8:32Speaker 1: I think you did it Tuesday. You did it a
- 8:35Speaker 1: little bit in a Monday.
- 8:37Speaker 3: You know, the man keeps his employee, that's for sure,
- 8:39Speaker 3: you guys, and you know, and people get rail.
- 8:41Speaker 4: You know, Trump supporters get really pissed off at me,
- 8:43Speaker 4: at least the few that are still listening.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Uh.
- 8:46Speaker 4: And all I say is refute it. Just refute it.
- 8:49Speaker 4: That's all I want you to say. Say it's not true.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Tell me the threat of imposing tariffs is not true.
- 8:56Speaker 4: After Trump writes the letter or says it or posts
- 9:01Speaker 4: it on true social All.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Right, if you want to be a part of Trump's
- 9:06Speaker 6: Board of Peace, the committee that will oversee the reconstruction
- 9:09Speaker 6: of Gaza, you can just for a mere.
- 9:13Speaker 5: One billion dollars.
- 9:16Speaker 6: President Trump says all funds raised will go towards rebuilding Gaza.
- 9:21Speaker 6: He's not going to pay people exorbit salaries or massive
- 9:24Speaker 6: administration blowed the plagues many international organizations.
- 9:28Speaker 4: So you know that's actually, and I would think about
- 9:31Speaker 4: that's not a bad idea because who's going to control that?
- 9:34Speaker 4: And that billion dollars is only for the permanent members.
- 9:37Speaker 4: He's taken a page out of the Security Council and
- 9:41Speaker 4: he says not that these are countries that are willing
- 9:43Speaker 4: to pay a billion dollars and or are these people? Yes,
- 9:48Speaker 4: people and countries.
- 9:51Speaker 5: I think it's just people people.
- 9:53Speaker 3: You have to that will be.
- 9:56Speaker 6: It, says Mark Karney. Kenny Prime Minister. Mark Karney is
- 9:59Speaker 6: in their secretary.
- 9:59Speaker 3: S a billionaire, not a billionaire.
- 10:03Speaker 5: So I'm wondering did they have to pay the billion?
- 10:05Speaker 4: No one has to know. No one has to pay.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Is just those that are going to be permanent members.
- 10:11Speaker 4: The rest at the rest are are are given only
- 10:16Speaker 4: a three year term.
- 10:17Speaker 3: So that's not a bad idea. Someone's got to do it.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Someone's got to make it happen.
- 10:21Speaker 4: And one of the things about Trump, I mean, he
- 10:23Speaker 4: is a successful builder.
- 10:25Speaker 3: There's no way around that. So that ain't a bad idea.
- 10:28Speaker 4: He certainly goes at it in different ways and tell
- 10:31Speaker 4: you this give me a.
- 10:33Speaker 5: Seat to gain a seat on the board a piece.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Okay, But if it's for the rebuilding of guys. I
- 10:41Speaker 4: think that's sort of universal. No one's going to say
- 10:43Speaker 4: no to that. Maybe the israel leis, but no one
- 10:45Speaker 4: else is going to say no.
- 10:48Speaker 1: No one's concerned that board of piece is spelled b
- 10:50Speaker 1: O r E D or.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Is spelled t r U n P.
- 10:56Speaker 2: There's that too, all right, So I ran supremely. I
- 11:00Speaker 2: always liked that terment. Reminds me of Star Wars. Supreme
- 11:03Speaker 2: lta it is speech on Saturday, I tolda Ali KOMENI
- 11:10Speaker 2: said that thousands have been killed, and this is really
- 11:14Speaker 2: one of the first times that that. Yeah, he's a
- 11:16Speaker 2: minimountains said that, so some in an inhumane, savage manner
- 11:22Speaker 2: and blamed the.
- 11:24Speaker 1: US for the deaths. Of course, of course our fault. Yeah,
- 11:28Speaker 1: he said all of the.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Protesters, the protesters.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Out there were billy merely people from Israel and the
- 11:36Speaker 4: United States or were under the influence of Israel United States.
- 11:40Speaker 4: They're the ones that did this. This is a regime
- 11:43Speaker 4: that's probably in the biggest problem or positioned to lose
- 11:50Speaker 4: the country, control of the country since nineteen seventy nine
- 11:53Speaker 4: when it was created. And so I mean they even
- 11:57Speaker 4: they shut down the internet and phone lines completely and
- 12:00Speaker 4: the only way we're getting video is through starlink connections.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:06Speaker 2: He went on to say that he considers the US
- 12:09Speaker 2: president criminal for the casualties, damages, and slander he inflicted
- 12:14Speaker 2: on the Iranian nation.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's I think he is alleging that President
- 12:20Speaker 4: Trump is sitting on the rooftop of some building and
- 12:23Speaker 4: mowing down protesters with machine guns.
- 12:25Speaker 3: That's President who does this.
- 12:28Speaker 6: Just a little bit of a back and forth here
- 12:30Speaker 6: between the La County DA's office and DHS. That's because
- 12:36Speaker 6: La County distric Attorney Nathan Hoffman says an employee of
- 12:39Speaker 6: his office was wrongfully detained by US Immigration and Customs enforcement,
- 12:44Speaker 6: so he sent a letter. Excuse me, he sent a
- 12:47Speaker 6: letter to them telling that the incident was unacceptable. The employees,
- 12:52Speaker 6: a dedicated public servant, called the situation troubling and said
- 12:56Speaker 6: that it caused distress to their colleague. And in response,
- 13:01Speaker 6: the DHS says, neither ICE nor CBP have any record
- 13:06Speaker 6: of any employee the La County d's office being detained.
- 13:09Speaker 6: Any allegations our law enforcement are engaging in racially is
- 13:12Speaker 6: in racial profiling, are false and disgusting and false is
- 13:15Speaker 6: in all caps.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Well, I didn't know that the federal government keep track
- 13:20Speaker 4: of who works for the DA's office. I thought that
- 13:24Speaker 4: looking through files, yes, And they said, oh, we haven't
- 13:27Speaker 4: found anybody. I mean, come on, really, And they went
- 13:30Speaker 4: forward and said, any allegations our law enforcements are engaging
- 13:34Speaker 4: in racial profiling or false and disgusting. Sure looks like
- 13:39Speaker 4: everybody picked up his hispanic just saying.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:43Speaker 6: And I don't think the letter that Hawkman sent said
- 13:45Speaker 6: anything about that when you read through it, I mean,
- 13:48Speaker 6: unless we're only getting a portion of what he wrote,
- 13:50Speaker 6: it doesn't say anything about racially no, no.
- 13:53Speaker 4: But that DHS says that we're not engaging in that.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Yeah, well, white folks don't complain until their people start
- 14:04Speaker 2: getting arrested.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Then it's kind of an.
- 14:07Speaker 2: It's like, hey, bad, what you're doing. Knock it off,
- 14:13Speaker 2: all right? So about fifteen hundred soldiers active duty have
- 14:18Speaker 2: been placed on alert. Of course, this is for potential
- 14:22Speaker 2: deployment in Minnesota. Widespread protests over immigration enforcement in the state.
- 14:29Speaker 2: We've heard, you know, shootings and all kinds of things
- 14:33Speaker 2: going on there. And Trump keeps threatening that he's going
- 14:38Speaker 2: to send troops in for insurrection, but then he pulls back,
- 14:45Speaker 2: and then he kind of goes back and forth on
- 14:47Speaker 2: that stuff, with the threats and the like.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Yeah, the Insurrection Insurrection Act, which gives him the power
- 14:54Speaker 4: to go in and use military force, which you're not
- 14:57Speaker 4: allowed to under the Siko Matatis law. The military cannot
- 15:03Speaker 4: be used to enforce American law unless the President declares insurrection.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Insurrection is rebellion against the government in the United States
- 15:11Speaker 4: against I guess to to overthrow the government, And it
- 15:17Speaker 4: can be argued. His argument says, by these protesters are
- 15:21Speaker 4: doing exactly that.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yeah, but January sixth was the only in our lifetime,
- 15:26Speaker 2: the only absolutely legitimate case of that.
- 15:31Speaker 1: No, you're wrong.
- 15:32Speaker 4: These were those were patriots. No, they were who were
- 15:35Speaker 4: upholding the constitution. All side you're on. If any priase,
- 15:40Speaker 4: I don't care what side you're on, No, I don't
- 15:44Speaker 4: care if you're.
- 15:45Speaker 2: A Republican, I don't care if you're a Democrat. If
- 15:47Speaker 2: you tell me that that was okay in any way,
- 15:50Speaker 2: shape or form.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Okay, I'm telling you, Okay, I'm telling you. I'm going
- 15:54Speaker 4: to put on the hat of a MAGA supporter. That
- 15:58Speaker 4: was Those were patriots that we're trying to uphold the constitution.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Because it was an illegal election and it was rigged. Now,
- 16:06Speaker 4: one of the things that I really enjoy is the
- 16:09Speaker 4: argument that MAGA supporters and pro President Trump is using.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Their saying that the Insurrection Act, a nineteenth century law
- 16:18Speaker 4: in the eighteen hundreds, all right, should be upheld. They're
- 16:23Speaker 4: those that are arguing the other way. How do you
- 16:26Speaker 4: uphold an eighteenth century law? I mean, tell me that
- 16:30Speaker 4: that is appropriate today? Well, you know, we have a
- 16:34Speaker 4: little document that was passed in seventeen seventy six that.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Is still used, that is still used.
- 16:41Speaker 2: All of our main laws and the construction of this
- 16:45Speaker 2: country are old.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Period, and now there.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Are laws that have changed the construction constitution itself. What
- 16:55Speaker 4: you can argue, I mean that is we can go
- 16:57Speaker 4: on forever the interpretation of the Constitution becau.
- 17:00Speaker 3: We have a Supreme Court for that. And so it's.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Complicated that those drafts. Remember when we were in Philly
- 17:06Speaker 2: together and we looked at the different drafts of historical
- 17:12Speaker 2: works and we stood inside these places that were historic
- 17:16Speaker 2: to the birth of our country and we just got
- 17:19Speaker 2: hills there.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Yeah, it does, it does give you chills, all right.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Well, we were talking about a little bit before the
- 17:25Speaker 6: break what's going on in Minneapolis. Well, the Minneapolis mayor,
- 17:28Speaker 6: Jacob I think it's free, but it might also be fry.
- 17:31Speaker 5: I'm not sure. He told me the.
- 17:34Speaker 6: Press that it would be a shocking step if President
- 17:36Speaker 6: Trump were to deploy the military to Minnesota under the
- 17:40Speaker 6: Insurrection Act. As we talked about before the break. The
- 17:42Speaker 6: Pentagon has placed about fifteen hundred active duty troops on
- 17:46Speaker 6: prepared to deploy orders.
- 17:49Speaker 4: And he's being investigated by the Department of Justice, Yes,
- 17:54Speaker 4: for instigating a riot for I mean, why not, went
- 17:59Speaker 4: in doubt. Anybody who speaks against the administration gets investigated.
- 18:03Speaker 6: Yeah, And he says we're not being intimidated and we're
- 18:05Speaker 6: not backing down.
- 18:10Speaker 2: All right, So, people still not satisfied with the Epstein files.
- 18:15Speaker 2: This is a month after the so called deadline, and folks,
- 18:21Speaker 2: it keeps growing. How they're upset. You've got six percent
- 18:24Speaker 2: of Americans. I know, it doesn't seem like that much
- 18:27Speaker 2: that said that they're satisfied with the federal government has
- 18:30Speaker 2: reliefed so far, but that's actually up from three percent
- 18:35Speaker 2: in July. This CNN survey. I'm going to pause for
- 18:39Speaker 2: people to get all upset that it's CNN but the
- 18:44Speaker 2: thing is, you've got nine and ten Democrats, seventy two
- 18:48Speaker 2: percent of Independence say that the government is intentionally withholding
- 18:53Speaker 2: information as to forty two percent of Republicans, but.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Which is a high figure for republic plans.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Yeah, to vote against the administration independence.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Did you mention seventy two percent? Yeah, I think you did.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Ninety percent of Democrats seventy two percent of Independence. Yeah,
- 19:12Speaker 4: people are not happy with the administration with holding parts
- 19:17Speaker 4: of that file.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Considering Riles out too.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, considering that one of the campaign issues that
- 19:26Speaker 4: President Trump ran on was the release of those files
- 19:30Speaker 4: by the Biden administration. And I don't know why they
- 19:32Speaker 4: didn't release those files, but that's another Yeah, are using them. Yeah,
- 19:37Speaker 4: may feel that in the meantime, all of a sudden,
- 19:39Speaker 4: it went from let's release those files, release those files
- 19:42Speaker 4: to oh, we don't want to release those files, and
- 19:45Speaker 4: no reason given, by the.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Way, other than we want.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Well, we want to protect the victims, and the victims
- 19:53Speaker 4: are saying release those files or release a portion of
- 19:56Speaker 4: the victims.
- 19:58Speaker 6: So in any case, and some non Trump news, Green
- 20:03Speaker 6: Day will be kicking off the Super Bowl in the
- 20:06Speaker 6: opening ceremony on February eight at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara.
- 20:10Speaker 6: That is, I believe their hometown, the Bay Area Trio
- 20:15Speaker 6: is made up a Billy Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and
- 20:18Speaker 6: Trey Cool. It's going to be a fun little start
- 20:21Speaker 6: to the Super Bowl.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Right, Oh, that's kay it is. And you know why
- 20:24Speaker 3: they call it.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Why they're doing it on Green Day because the prices
- 20:29Speaker 4: of Super Bowl tickets have exploded and they're the highest
- 20:32Speaker 4: in the history of the Super Bowl.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Get it Green, Get it green money? Get it?
- 20:38Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, exactly?
- 20:41Speaker 3: Green Day?
- 20:43Speaker 4: Is that an official I get I don't know if
- 20:45Speaker 4: that's official? And is that celebrated all over the world?
- 20:47Speaker 4: I have absolutely no idea. Here is another fun one.
- 20:54Speaker 2: President Donald Trump, yes the Trump Story, plans to sign
- 21:00Speaker 2: an executive order aimed at preventing any football games from
- 21:05Speaker 2: competing on TV with the annual Army Navy matchup. So
- 21:12Speaker 2: he described it as one of the country's most cherished
- 21:14Speaker 2: sporting traditions. And he doesn't want to see college playoff
- 21:19Speaker 2: games and what he refers to his big TV money
- 21:22Speaker 2: goes not anymore on truth social in caps. You know what,
- 21:28Speaker 2: don't people have the choice to watch it if they
- 21:30Speaker 2: want to and if it's a super big tradition, people
- 21:33Speaker 2: will watch it.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:35Speaker 4: Well, the issue is number one, does he have the
- 21:37Speaker 4: power to do that? And no he does not. However,
- 21:41Speaker 4: does he have the ability to do that? Well, here's
- 21:45Speaker 4: how he can do it. He can say that those
- 21:48Speaker 4: stations that carry games other than the Army Navy matchup
- 21:55Speaker 4: are no longer broadcasting for the public good, and he
- 21:59Speaker 4: can take away their license, their FCC license to broadcast.
- 22:05Speaker 2: I like the way you said that. Does he have
- 22:07Speaker 2: the power to do it? No, but does he have
- 22:10Speaker 2: the ability to do it?
- 22:12Speaker 1: That's different question.
- 22:13Speaker 4: Well, it is when I say power, Does he have
- 22:16Speaker 4: the legal power to do that?
- 22:18Speaker 3: Does he have the ability to do that?
- 22:21Speaker 4: Well, I mean he would clearly lose in court, and
- 22:24Speaker 4: I think the networks would tell him to go pound
- 22:27Speaker 4: sand and you know he starts it.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I don't you know there's there, listen.
- 22:32Speaker 2: I I don't want to be an apologist for Trump,
- 22:35Speaker 2: and I end up being a lot of times because
- 22:37Speaker 2: people are so unreasonable about Trump in a lot of ways.
- 22:40Speaker 2: I'm not a fan of his, didn't vote for him.
- 22:43Speaker 2: But I will tell you two things that are so
- 22:45Speaker 2: that stand out. And this is now one of them
- 22:48Speaker 2: is he was anti DEI right, going after it everywhere.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Yet he stopped giving money to NPR Y because it
- 22:56Speaker 2: didn't have diversity of thought. He said, there was no
- 22:59Speaker 2: Republican It's a good point.
- 23:00Speaker 1: It's a good pright. So there's that one. And now
- 23:03Speaker 1: there's this.
- 23:03Speaker 2: If it's such a big game, so important to America,
- 23:06Speaker 2: why would you have to make everybody stand down for it?
- 23:11Speaker 1: They would just choose to go to.
- 23:12Speaker 5: It, force everyone to watch it.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Yeah, that's just that to me is contradictory.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Well, oh that never happened before, And.
- 23:20Speaker 1: He was you know what I'm saying that, how is that? Not?
- 23:23Speaker 2: Of course it didn't I but like forcing of course
- 23:26Speaker 2: to stand out it just yeah.
- 23:27Speaker 6: Do you think there's an alternative, you know, motive here too,
- 23:31Speaker 6: to rally the base, to get people to be like, yeah, army.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Maybe you know, there may be that because you're talking
- 23:37Speaker 4: about the Armed Services, and he is a big fan
- 23:39Speaker 4: of the Armed Services. Also through twenty thirty eight guests,
- 23:44Speaker 4: who has the exclusive rights paramount sky dance and there
- 23:50Speaker 4: was all that.
- 23:52Speaker 5: Seriously yep, yep, David Ellison.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Yep, remember that situation.
- 23:59Speaker 6: So there's a multi there are some potentially multiple reasonings
- 24:03Speaker 6: why he's doing this. It's not quite always so random,
- 24:05Speaker 6: I find now.
- 24:07Speaker 4: You know, there's I've said many times, there is a
- 24:09Speaker 4: method to his madness at times where how he gets
- 24:13Speaker 4: from A to B you can really question it. However,
- 24:17Speaker 4: what the end result is, okay, I mean, look what
- 24:22Speaker 4: happened in Gaza with Hamas basically losing the war, and
- 24:29Speaker 4: it was Trump who actually put together that peace program,
- 24:34Speaker 4: that peace deal. As fragile as it is and as
- 24:37Speaker 4: flaky as it is, there's no war going on right now.
- 24:40Speaker 4: I mean there are skirmish skirmishes. There is a quote
- 24:44Speaker 4: a war of attrition. But and you got to give
- 24:47Speaker 4: you got to give the president credit for that because
- 24:49Speaker 4: he had a lot to do with it.
- 24:50Speaker 3: I mean a lot, if not all, to do with it.
- 24:53Speaker 6: All right, there was a really tragic train crash that
- 24:57Speaker 6: happened in Spain. Thirty nine people were killed, dozens more
- 24:59Speaker 6: in when two high speed trains glided. They were traveling
- 25:03Speaker 6: from Malaga to Madrid with three hundred and seventy one
- 25:06Speaker 6: people on board. When it's rear three carriages derailed. Officials
- 25:12Speaker 6: say eleven adults and one child are still in intensive
- 25:15Speaker 6: care or critical condition and twenty four others were seriously hurt.
- 25:18Speaker 4: Yeah, and they issued a press release the train in Spain.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Falls mainly on the tracks.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Too soon, too soon?
- 25:32Speaker 5: Isn't it a little too soon?
- 25:33Speaker 1: Too soon for that?
- 25:34Speaker 4: And I've got to get some more words that rhyme
- 25:38Speaker 4: with Maine Spain.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Train out insane insane works? Yes?
- 25:44Speaker 3: Yes? Or pain?
- 25:46Speaker 4: Yeah, oh, the train in Spain, cause for those people
- 25:49Speaker 4: that haven't died a lot of pain.
- 25:51Speaker 3: It is too soon. And by the.
- 25:54Speaker 4: Way, Spain's for some reason, has a history of this stuff,
- 25:57Speaker 4: if you noticed.
- 25:58Speaker 5: Yeah, this is uh, it's happened quite a few times.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it does, and it's Spain a lot of time.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Well, China's had some gain. I want to rhyme things. Yeah,
- 26:12Speaker 2: lookive me, I'm rhyming any who. China clocked its lowest
- 26:18Speaker 2: birth rate on record in twenty twenty five. Population shrinking
- 26:23Speaker 2: all that, but they still say that they are growing.
- 26:29Speaker 1: In other ways.
- 26:31Speaker 2: They are growing financially even despite the target or the
- 26:35Speaker 2: US trade war and all these things going on. But
- 26:38Speaker 2: they are still focusing on growing their population. China's economy
- 26:43Speaker 2: itself grew five five.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the that was their goal.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Roughly Yeah, they met their going.
- 26:51Speaker 4: What the president is doing is what you did with
- 26:55Speaker 4: the tariffs was to punish China and it didn't work.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Away market punished China is not let any Chinese national
- 27:05Speaker 2: go to school in the state right see, or shut
- 27:07Speaker 2: down every parent they've they've bobbed and weaved in.
- 27:11Speaker 4: They're fine, yea, every Panda Express restaurant must be shut
- 27:14Speaker 4: down by executive order.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Okay. Moving on.
- 27:18Speaker 6: After weeks of clashes on again off in clashes, this
- 27:21Speaker 6: hearing government and Kurdish led militia have made an agreement
- 27:26Speaker 6: to have an immediate cease fire and merge the militia
- 27:30Speaker 6: fully into the national military forces.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Yeah, this is not something we pay attention to, particularly
- 27:36Speaker 4: Syria the civil war over there. It's certainly an international story.
- 27:41Speaker 4: But does anybody do you guys even know about this,
- 27:44Speaker 4: and more importantly, do you care?
- 27:46Speaker 6: I mean, this is something that when it crosses with
- 27:50Speaker 6: all the other stuff and news that's happening, this is
- 27:53Speaker 6: unfortunately one.
- 27:53Speaker 5: Of those stories that just doesn't get a lot of attention.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Right now, there's a story about that's really great, the
- 27:59Speaker 4: brain infecting raccoon roundworm.
- 28:02Speaker 1: That's a fun one.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I just love the fact that it's like crap news,
- 28:06Speaker 2: crap news. But here's another weird crap news, and that
- 28:11Speaker 2: is that there's a brain infecting raccoon roundworm parasite that's
- 28:15Speaker 2: found in a dog in the San Fernando Valley.
- 28:19Speaker 5: What is that?
- 28:20Speaker 1: Wow?
- 28:21Speaker 3: Hold on that old parasite.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Oh.
- 28:25Speaker 6: I thought there was an earthquake, but I think it
- 28:26Speaker 6: was just Cono running down the hall.
- 28:30Speaker 4: More trucks, trucks rolling by the studio.
- 28:33Speaker 3: I feel like I just ran down.
- 28:37Speaker 5: The hole and it shook the whole newsroom. And I
- 28:39Speaker 5: looked at Am. I thought we were having an earthquake.
- 28:40Speaker 5: I'm so sorry.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:42Speaker 2: So anyway, well he carries his pay check in nickels,
- 28:45Speaker 2: so it weighs him down.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Is the raccoon story.
- 28:49Speaker 4: It's a huge story, and it's this raccoon roundworm. They
- 28:54Speaker 4: found exactly ten of them in California since nineteen ninety three.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Something to be afraid of.
- 29:02Speaker 6: Zutopia two is the highest grossing US animated movie of
- 29:05Speaker 6: all time.
- 29:06Speaker 5: That's huge.
- 29:08Speaker 3: It said, Yeah, I love it.
- 29:10Speaker 5: I love that two thousands.
- 29:11Speaker 6: It's a sequel to twenty sixteen Zutopia, and it made
- 29:14Speaker 6: one point seven billion dollars worldwide as of yesterday, and
- 29:19Speaker 6: it edged out the previous record holder, which is also
- 29:21Speaker 6: a Disney film, Inside Out too. Wow, that's great, and
- 29:25Speaker 6: it's getting amazing reviews. It's supposed to be just a
- 29:29Speaker 6: wonderful film, which is rare for a sequel.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Yeah, and anybody sees you Zutopia one?
- 29:34Speaker 5: Yeah, my daughter loved it.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Did you? I didn't say it. I have to go on.
- 29:39Speaker 3: I've got to see both of them. Just a quick
- 29:41Speaker 3: word before we bail.
- 29:43Speaker 4: Do you remember when Bob Iger, I think it was
- 29:45Speaker 4: ziker Iiger, who ran Disney for many many years, he
- 29:51Speaker 4: bought Pixar for like three billion dollars. Everybody thought it was,
- 29:56Speaker 4: oh god, how can you pay that much? How horrific?
- 29:59Speaker 4: Is that the biggest success in terms of buying a
- 30:03Speaker 4: business that certainly Disney ever had. I mean it was
- 30:06Speaker 4: he effectively paid pennies on the dollar for the value
- 30:09Speaker 4: that Pixar has become.
- 30:11Speaker 2: You know who created the tech that later became Pixar,
- 30:14Speaker 2: George Lucas.
- 30:16Speaker 4: Yes, that's true. Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs also was big
- 30:20Speaker 4: part of that. I think Jobs invested ten million dollars
- 30:23Speaker 4: in that thing, and that was probably I think his
- 30:26Speaker 4: greatest wealth was the owner of that as.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Discostch tech and innovation for filmmaking and creativity came out
- 30:34Speaker 2: of ILM alone.
- 30:35Speaker 4: Okay, and then really quickly a woman dies after Universal
- 30:38Speaker 4: Studios Florida roller coaster ride, and it is it is
- 30:42Speaker 4: not true that Disney arranged that. Okay, we are absolutely
- 30:48Speaker 4: done with Handle on the news. You've been listening to
- 30:52Speaker 4: the Bill Handle Show, Catch My Show Monday through Friday
- 30:55Speaker 4: six am to nine am, and anytime on demand on
- 30:58Speaker 4: the iHeartRadio up
